"By Bristol Myers Squibb and Fizer. This'll is a my talk dirt alert. Like time. No see, right? Yes. Been a hot second when we got to talk about a Scientology story that was just published in the Hollywood reporter tell us And this is all about Scientology's production work in Hollywood and the insidious way that they recruit actors into their organization. Okay, talk, So Scientology has some big production facilities if you're not aware and one of those facilities Is right on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood. In the neighborhood of Los Felice. They purchased a public television site for $45 million Back in, 2011 says That's huge news at the time because people were upset that they had the most money to buy it, because that's such a great state of the art. Facility facility that a lot of They had access to, like a lot of actual production companies wanted to have access to them. So they bought that for $45 million, And this is in addition to all of the other presents that Scientology has in just that neighborhood alone. They have another place down on Sunset Boulevard. There's a celebrity center that's on Franklin Avenue in Los Angeles. That's fairly close. But you're right, Laurie. That place has 20 editing suites and 21 special effects station's control rooms, Music studios, mixing rooms. It's a whole studio. Basically, Tom Cruise paid for it. Yeah, yeah, yeah, not so, and this is separate. Then the churches gold base headquarters where they have golden era productions out in him it Oh, yes. Yes, Shelly. Yeah. Thank you. Where is Shelly? Yes. Oh, they're talking about in this Hollywood reporter story. How production of film and television has been intertwined with Scientology. From the very beginning. L Ron Hubbard. He wrote a bunch of Hollywood scripts. You know, And that was his thing telling starts. Yeah, and I feel like Leah Remini told us that she did, like so called acting classes like teaching people how we're gonna help you get a sad Carden do this it But it was just a blatant thing to try and get people to sign up for Scientology and stepping in stepping for courses. You're exactly right. So in this story, Leah Remini goes into a little bit of detail about some of these workshops, acting seminars where the church would regularly hold these at that celebrity center for So that was part of her duties. Yeah, and it was a recruiting tool, so it would be technique classes, personal branding lessons you get to meet and greet with Scientology industry professionals. Lean remedy, said about teaching the seminar that she actually put together of course, and she genuinely wanted to teach young people about acting. But Lee Roney says that she was pushed by Scientology officials to refocus on selling time Scientology services and courses. That's right. Yeah, so she says doing acting seminars was to sell books and to sell Scientology services. And it wasn't for the purpose of helping actors. She says that phrases like quote raw meat and bodies in the shop were used intentionally as a way to describe potential recruits. She also said that Scientology Reps would be in the room during these classes and intervene to talk with attending, so giving them basic tests and pushing entry level courses on them. And ads for the seminars would run in magazines online and would promise that Scientology would bring Hollywood success. And then are they making Scientology movies and recruitment things at this place? Probably and they're probably going and, yeah, advertising and but back casting or whatever that backlot or whatever the trade thing is Thing that they're filming stuff, and then they get there. And it's an actor from not L A. And they're like, What's his Scientology? I mean, I wouldn't. I'm sure that they recruit like that. They're hiring Actors Productions. Yeah, because Lori you mentioned they listed stuff in a trade called Backstage backstage. Is this him back? Well, you know, say, but same thing, essentially, but backstage is a casting website where you can get There are Web sites in Hollywood, where you can get legitimate jobs right and that's one of them and they would be deliberately obtuse in their listing that these things were being filmed. In the Scientology production lots. So like the Scientology movies, they go into one of those centers, and they're showing you how kinds of videos and you can go in the one right downtown ST. Paul, don't go in there. There's no bodies. There's just videos playing in the old science museum. But I mean, then they're like trying to cast people. But I think I don't know. I feel like somebody in Scientology Fahd and got that They had to play them. Guild wages. Yeah, well, here's one of okay, that's really insidious about Scientology, looking for recruits of the world of acting auditions is that Scientology representatives would hang outside of central casting. That's an actual place. It's not just like a term that we throw around here. Well, they just came from such as an actual place. It is an actual place. I never know that I always just thought we're going to go to Central K. I don't know that either, right? You thought that it was like a metaphor for hungry. Nice Central Casting is an actual place. Okay, it's in Burbank. And you condoled there, and that's how you can get looped into being an extra for various projects and you can get access to jobs and it's just come on your way to a sag card. That might be your first stop. Okay, exactly. Scientology knew that, though, eh, so they would be hanging out targeting actors who are lined up to be extras. And promising them jobs and helping them securing their sad cards. You know, Of course they're not at all right. And you know this guy the SAG card. It's a Screen Actors Guild card. It is the union in Hollywood for actors and that opens the door Having that sad card, which is completely opens the door for you in Hollywood because a lot of movies are union jobs, and you can't you can't work on the movie unless you're part of the unit guarantees your wage and there's health insurance. And there, you know, like it's a union, like any other good union is meant to be protect the worker bright and so there's an actress. She's not telling her name was she telling the Hollywood reporter that she was in Line in late 2018. And she saw Scientology members coming up to actors and telling them skip the line. Come join us. We'll get you working right away, dear. Yeah. Now, central casting reps would come outside to warn the actors that the Scientology people were unaffiliated with central casting and that they're like, you know, please ignore them. But if you're new, you know, kind of fresh, fresh in bushy tailed to like, Get a giant. Glad the Hollywood reporter is doing. I am too because they probably they've known about and they could have written about it a long time ago. Yeah, so this is this is an issue. That needs to be talked about right to warn people, young people who are starting out and they could have it written this story. You know, quite a while ago, but I mean, they've been kind of feel like they're getting more ballsy. Maybe writing about Scientology, don't you for sure, they Yeah, And they were talking about one of the things in this Hollywood reporter Think Is that? You know, you mentioned Scientology having these videos and things with huge production values. Well, you know, they cut corners by hiring, See or g'kar. Individuals who were in the church of Scientology working for like nothing, nothing pennies on the dollars to make this stuff actually happened. So they're not. They're not using these actors that they're saying, because they don't want to pay anybody. You know you have a sake heard, but they don't wanna They don't want to let you know these. We only pay $100 a week. Right for 60 hours of word, Right? Right, right. So which is illegal and unethical and so many other things. So you know, it's really this Hollywood reporter article really worth the read and just some of the really insidious things. That Scientology has done to try to recruit new members into their organization. Calling out Scott Rudin, the bully Scientology the bully and taking advantage to think about how many newbies fresh people come into Hollywood make their way They have no idea..

'Palm Springs' Romantic Comedy Is A Total Winner For The Lockdown Era

"Are film critic Justin. Chang says it could be an especially good time to watch palm springs, a romantic comedy about two people forced to repeat the same day. Over and over again it stars Andy Sandberg, and Kristen, Milly Odi it streaming on Hulu and playing in some drive in theaters around the country. Palm Springs a hot ticket at this year's Sundance Film Festival one of the last public events to take place before the movie industry shutdown. I didn't see it there, but having caught up with it months later at home I can't help but feel as though this breezily entertaining movie. Please a little differently in the era of covid nineteen. It's a comedy. About is the LATIAN repetition which might not sound too appealing at a time when many of us are also leading lives of isolation and repetition. But don't let that dissuade you. This first feature directed by Max barbeque cow, and written by Andy Sierra turns out to be a total winner, Sharp, funny, and even profound in a sneakily offhand way. The story is a riff on that Herald Ramos Classic Groundhog Day in which Bill Murray had to keep replaying the same day until he learned to become a selfless person, but palm springs is trying to push that message. It knows that just getting through life with your dignity intact can be hard enough. That's certainly true for Sarah played by Kristen me not who's serving as maid of honor in her sister's wedding in the California desert town of Palm Springs. S Sarah Drinks too much and stumbles her way through the reception. She finds herself intrigued by one of the Guests Niles played by Andy, Sandberg. Niles is kind of a goofball, but also manages to work the room with disarming ease. It's almost as if he's been through this event before and knows everything that's going to happen. Sarah finds out why when she follows him that night into a mysterious cave out in the desert. Within seconds she's waking up the next morning only to find that. It's actually the same morning as before the morning of the wedding. Time has reset itself. In a panic Sarah Trucks Down Niles at the hotel where they're staying. He explains that when she entered the cave, she made a big mistake because he followed me. What's going on? I tried to stop. But, what is this? When is this? Yeah. About that so. This is today. Today is yesterday and tomorrow is also today. It's one of. Infinite time loop situations you might have heard about. That I might have heard about. There's been a lot of those infinite time loop situations in recent movies and TV. Some of them excellent like the Tom. Cruise Action Thriller Edge of tomorrow in the NETFLIX's mystery series. Russian doll. The pop savvy makers of Palm Springs clearly no those stories and suspect that you might know them to. As a result, they're able to jettison a lot of the usual exposition about how this world works and simply cut to the chase. Sarah is eager to bust out of the time loop but Niles. WHO's been stuck here for ages tries to dissuade her. Virtuous acts won't work. Suicide won't work although that doesn't Stop Sarah driving straight into the path of an oncoming truck just to see what happens. Eventually Niles persuades her to stop fighting the space time continuum, and just enjoy their time together, and so she does with the threat of permanent removed. These two misfits are suddenly free to embrace the craziness of every moment. Sometimes, they blow off the wedding to go on long desert drives and hang out in bars. Sometimes they stick around for the wedding, so they can play tricks on the guests. WHO WON'T REMEMBER ANYTHING ANYWAY? The guests are played by fine actors. Including Peter Gallagher June squibb and Meredith Hagner. J. K. Simmons also gives a terrific wildcard performance as a guy who POPs up at the wedding on Sundays, but not others for reasons that the story will soon make amusingly clear. As fiendishly clever, as it is on the surface, palm springs has a pretty straightforward takeaway, since life can sometimes be pointless and tedious whether you're stuck in a time loop or not, you might as well spend it with someone you love. It's pretty good advice. Even Still Sarah doesn't know how much longer she can stand being trapped in this desert purgatory, especially since Niles seem so lazily resigned as fate. I won't give away whether they succeed in escaping or not I will say that the movie doesn't entirely avoid a tired gender dynamic in which a smart determined woman has to expend a lot of emotional and mental energy, and just to get her boyfriend to WanNa move forward. But I love the way the actors conspired subvert that Dynamic Sandberg isn't that's Hilarious as he was in the Music Biz? Satire pop star never stopped never stopping, but he does have the whole. Doofus slacker routine down Pat. But, he's eclipsed by Milly Ot, a versatile performer who won a grammy for the Broadway musical once, and who can turn from madcap comedy to breathtaking emotion on a dime. I'd watch her. Any Day. Justin Chang is a film critic at the L. A. Times.

But when you turn a corner like thought is fucking narrow. Yeah like all. There's not much room for those toys. And like yeah like we need you to land. He so like okay. No worries and they're making a bit of a fuss about it on online. Just just tell me when to go. Yeah like it's not a problem of got my helmet and boots on like Mubarak's running. Just tell me when to go and then not use to it. It's just it's just two different worlds like overseeing freestyle motocross. Probably the most important part of your job is to land on the same fucking spot. Yeah like the sweet spot and it's to me is really on any standard estimates. Landon you about to me is of sweet spot in ten percent and you jump in seventy five seventy four. Whatever so jumped. It landed in Saint Place. Can you do that again? I'm not yet. Tell me when though worries off yeah. I never caught a like really surprised in just gone. Well it just this. This is not a problem. Would you do it again? I'll tell you that video or movie work. Obviously that video with Morgan. Because it's like a mate and he's into free they were a good crew like Morgan Damian. Like it was fun and we went out for a few days and everyone was appropriate. Laugh and walk in and she said to me like in the movie world. He was like these Gaza Fun. This is a mellow day off. Who's messaging you know one yet? Not right no just chicken to see if these things work and only just got this stuff on. I'm just looking at sapient equipment. Morgan these discuss this is like super mellow and easy. Go in and like yeah and someone else. It's all year lot riding today and I'm armed there in disbelief it while I'm here in light but what I do again I think both would you do other movies for other people. Probably if they spoke to me like a piece of shell began yeah. That's the problem. That's the problem. Odd have is because I've been my own boss from what the age of twenty one twenty two you know and I'd like to think I take the Piss a lot an all fucking rip into people and have a laugh but I would like to think. I've never spoken to anyone disrespectfully route. Yeah and there's a big difference. Even when the sense of humor gets a bit harsh an old probably should wander like in the chain revalue. We've obviously he's GonNa Laugh at this one but it's all in jest always Delvin so yeah when I hear stories about how people are getting screamed and shouted at Lufkin. Sworn in the ridiculous odd. Yeah that's not for me for me. Never do that to anybody. And are certainly. Don't want that in my direction. Say Nine exactly. It doesn't give maybe stuff but if you want to speak to me like a piece of shit that's fine I'll just fucking goto catering stuff my face and Fuck Afon. Nice and easy. As many as other fridges like that live in the fray stall law hip well speaking things doing things you like doing. We had red bull dirt diggers and that was a whole lot drive in diggers for fourteen hours a day and having a nervous breakdown while probably it probably was not law. If to be doing that one was good test. It was a good test it will exactly in onshore. You've learned a few of the character but the to protect the jumps I build. Oh no she didn't. Oh eight went. They rebelled dig is was sick. It was an event that speak even.

"Like I would sit in the petrol tank and grab hold the middle of the balls and my dad would ride up and down the field on his. Get an also. Did you ever hear them? Not yet? Is like an a trials bike code an officer I think actually it was. Spanish made But Yeah so. I would sit on the petrol tank of the sermon. Dad would rip up and down the field and then like he'd when Osma year old is super before it. Let me grab the For all and I just fucking loved it like it was ridiculous and like obviously I'm not. I'm not old guy now so I was a small kid. That's an undecided yet. No smallest having a small kid. I didn't go fifty when I was six years old and I couldn't touch the ground for shit then But I was just slowed desperate for a bike. They Mama Dodges Connie gave in the end because it was just too painful watching me suffer not having a motorcycle And honestly from the ages six till well fuck man thet eight next month and I still do. I just love Roy Moore fucking bike like and it's I guess it's really cool but it Kinda worries me too because I think it has to end thought done. Tell me about that. Yeah exactly and you Shit. And for best night you'll career came to a fucking sour end and and the way you crashed in the way the injury panned out it was decided for you and I kind of have this idea reminded of like getting out free storm across on my terms now but free still across these a cruel mistress and she can decide in this in the blink of an eye. Your fucking done. Hang on done though. Well Ye kind of Audie og easy out not done okay. It out Roy much nowadays though and you haven't done a paid show since I haven't jumped a ramp. Probably the first problem so yeah it kind of worries me a bit. I still enjoy Roydon. Mubarak's much in love doing shows like this weekend like was sat at the autograph thing. We've heavy tonight and like do this weekend was fucking heaps of fun like it was like it was a it was a show but you still went out on your own and did you write in. You did the trick. She wanted to do and everybody push themselves. Like Pinot did his self-afflicted takeoff shitting down. That's fucking scary and I asked him to cool down especially on the first night. Yeah it was like my. You've just driven thirty six hours to get you've had four hours sleep. Joss just be happy and just broad Saif yet how to deal with sleep that annoy and then maybe if you want to give it a bit more on Saturday not Guy Foreign. He wanted to go straightaway. Then you've got Michael Front Front flips mid run Chignon will. Yeah Chigney and Luca doing double flip trains and best trick and like Kai Hausa I front flip to Dir. And then tonight he did know an front flips move as Bu- and yeah like it's a show but it is fun but like you know drinking a beer and I'm like that was a fucking lot of fun like it was fun watching practice. Like Luke just gone bananas in his runs with his three sixties of fucking ridiculous year so fucking flat and twisted off the ramp like it scares me. Yeah and but then he bright checks it in the middle. How does that low? It's such a weird effect on the bike. Guess flat solid ways yeah? He's he's pulling revs it. Then you just back breaks it for the hell of an ribs it again and ribs the hell out of it and stops it gets it and it's fucking weed because the bikes flat on its side. Yeah so you've never seen the brake and throttle effect on a motorcycle at that angle. Ni- and it's yeah and all I when he does the ones when he like he does that. And you just arches at looks at the credit and then yeah on hips in for the landing so smooth fucking Hell Ya. Even Shaney was standing beside us. And he's been doing three sixties at least ten years big dog three sixties. When he's in the mood yet if he wants to have a crack you'll give it a guy any just went fuck and L. That looks good down. Looks good that is a hell of a compliment for a young kid. It Luke is now well champion kitties twenty two but like he's he's been riding Full Zizou Eleven. He's on the road aged twenty two he's almost an og. I think it's a living use of nod of the jumps. I think it was crazy. I think Hanis was obviously broaden. The Johnson brought his brother in here. He is now well champion. And you just throwing down three sixties lot. They nothing like full flat spins. Yeah it's cold but like this whole weekend was fun and so much going on and yet like off. Obviously obviously I'm not on a level like she is and Lucas and stuff but still just had a heap of fun. I did run like on. I think like I do tricks. The everard is don't do. Yeah unaccounted doom or without torn a big edit Twat by like say like an upright switchblade or something not loosely. Yeah do it. Oh yeah drifts. Up switchblade into lighten further and it just looks gnaws comes back but listen no emails on and that's how to write like if a trick doesn't feel good or if it feels like a ton of effort just like when not a bad if it well we get the job done somehow. Somehow it just yes. They're like salot when Jesus like a whipped out not cool something and I just feels good announced how Alex Rod mobike. Yeah exactly like just is like. I'm not looking to get an extra two enough points because I did a fucking because I'll let go online at one and I just don't care like put me in last place man. It's fine like that night was whipped. I was fucking good. I'm happy like that's it for me. And that's IT and yeah don't get me started on one inland Or Tavis yes. So what would we talk? Let's do love to this point. And why is still loving it at thirty eight and I've had enough injuries to where I should have been like fucking over this but my biggest concern when I'm laid in hospital is how long is it. GonNa be to locking. Get back on my bike like. That's my biggest stress. What I've been laid in hospitals like even in Spain with a broken back I'll just laid the going on a God like how long it's GonNa take to mend. It could be mumps on no and I was just thinking fuck. I'M NOT GONNA be able to ride a bike for so long. Yeah and Vinai that feeling. Yeah yeah exactly so learning. The flipped getting in freestyle motocross. You Love Rodney Motorbike and your story is almost as identical as my story with these goddamn trick that can carry hot. Decided he was going to stop. Tha Thousand One and I read the day that he did that Boston. If Kerry hot had never gone to gravity area Adna done that Travis would have done it about ten days later it was always gonNA happen on a fairplay to halt what he did that day at gravity was if he wasn't gravity. I wouldn't have had to stress so much in my life. But tell me your story and tell the listeners your story because it's it's Niran identical. Start ANYTHING IS I think. That's where we've got this fair bond that we've missed the glory days wages. Cut All thoughts enjoying it now hanging on baugh hanging on boy thread now. I think there's no shortage of Reuters. And you don't have much space and you are really not earning any oz working in a scrap yard. Yeah driving a forklift for a hundred and twenty pounds a week on the phone anytime soon. It's too I learned forty Australian and yet like I was stoked. I could buy a fucking new crush in a new back tire like so. Yeah like an an officer talking. "If he can't make it we also have the livestream from each round of competition hosted by yours truly for this episode. I caught up with a really good might of mine who has built some of the coolest setups I've ever seen. And he's placed tucked away in the woods in Devon in the south of England. He's got one hell of a work ethic when it comes to building jumps talks about drainage due to the significant amount of Ryan they have in England more than anyone of ever spoken to any runs. These aren't epic showers all around the UK. Any still pushing to learn new tricks even Walis Class. Pretty much is a surname. Fm exit the moment. If he's not talking about drainage or drive and dig is he's actually just more interested in playing with these pit pomeranian molly and giving her belly. Rubs for this episode was a bit nervous. Actually playing it back. Because normally when scooby and hanging out it's usually with plenty of riding usually pretty ordinary way the conditions in the UK oil some pretty ordinary scenarios at some shows and a few bees hero there and we just carry on and to be pretty honest. I actually got most of what we spoke about in his interview Because it was done at two between two o'clock and three o'clock in the morning after two huge days of free style of nations at not of the jumps in Berlin. Where actually squibb was the team captain of the world team which also featured Harvey ever gas and Josh Sheen? We would ridiculously tied and just whiting. Scooby's taxi to take into the airport for that early morning flight. So there's the disclaimer at the start of this because there's a lot of rubbish lot of waffle. We carried on his interview. Well without further ADO. Let's get started. I well he he. We are in squeeze Jose. Start TO START. They can starch. We've we've.

Pilot Review: Latest Netflix Series, 'The Witcher'

"And. I think when I did a show way back where it's like. Why the witcher what you could possibly be? The next game of thrones and one of the things I said that would help sell. It is all the sexual stuff nudity and things bear there is you. You see you see a Dick in there. There is a naked man. I think at one point but for the most part it's female nudity and the problem is it's not even I I'll say at least for game of thrones was it made sense to why there is showing so much nudity in the very beginning where it's like okay. We're at a whorehouse. This is where this particular character operates as world is wheeling and dealing goes down like all these dark deeds happened like selling information using his his prostitutes in the world it felt natural in. It's exactly it's established in the world or it's establishing how certain characters are revealed when someone has sex like their personality and things. That's what I think. The original like I guess runs do for the most part for the most part this one. This is a really doesn't do that does show. And you needed for the sake nudity. Hey this is old lecherous wizard who created grand illusion. He's eases all his women and Amen. Amen everybody yeah exactly equal. Except there's this one guy. He's the he's the token order. I guess in the in the in the show and so and so it's not really a really leading to anything in terms of that. Set something up for for the most part in terms of the two storylines going on right now. You have Gerald story where he's just to feed this monster he's going the town he gets typically happens like when you go to a new town the video game he gets Condo side quests. They're like hey we can really use your help taken down this one guys. I don't WanNa do that. That's why am I hunt. Monsters and people are going to put. This guy is a monster on the very very on the nose. It's actually you know a giant spider like bitch. Can you take your that noman. He's human human human human but sometimes humans are even worse than monsters as the series emphasize which is a part of the book and also part the game. I thought that was I think. Just the issue I had with his particular storyline WanNa touch and another one is that I'll say this. I have talked a lot of shit about Henry Cavill for years. I'm not a fan of him. I don't think he's been a particularly good superman. I did not like him in mission possible. I thought he was very would net. I the sixty spy film man from uncle. I didn't care all that much to calm down there. You like them all. I know a lot of people that do like the movie. I just I distantly like it. Looks fantastic right having. Maybe I'll be a debate for another time but I'm not a big Cam. I will say this though. He does nail the the physicality girled but also the cadence the way he he talks like he does a very good impression particularly of how the character sounds and video games. Okay and that was Kinda Guy was one of my big concerns. Initially it's like okay. We now have an idea of what girl sounds like very gravelly voice but very dry to use a dry sense of humor and Kabul does good job capturing that like he is not the weakest thing about this episode so far I honestly I think for the most part he gives a solid performance. What's holding him back though is the way he looks? I think it's the kind of remarks it's party city. Wig and those contact lens in by the way contact lenses lobby will wear them in the show and they're not the best it takes you out of the scene when they don't look that was sometimes in the in the trails like like okay like that doesn't look too bad but I remember there's one imagery I think he's just sitting and he's has his hair down and I'm like that looked so fake. There's like the original image of promoting the show where it's like when you just him walking out and taking a Swig of one his magical potions and that doesn't look. It doesn't look as bad as that one did because critically that was like a screen test but it doesn't look great. There is one one moment in the show. Where because most of this film with like a blue or gray filter something because everything's great except for this one sequence in the show and where I almost feel like they? CG over the contact lens to make him feel like they look more natural. And I was like okay I could buy. This is natural eye color. I felt like maybe the siege on that kind of work again. I don't know if they did use that. But whatever reason I think just because the room itself was well lit that it looked better. I think when you when you when you have him. His eyes are so bright eight sending a gray tones already in the show. Exactly it's shines out even more a lot of sense it does. It took me on but for the most part. I think he does a solid job in this initial the first episode. It's just impressions. I haven't seen I think this is eight episodes series so far. I haven't seen the seven so maybe that gets better but again this is kind of like a slice of life type of thing and where he is in like a fairly. I'm like five minutes at long. Not Counting the spider mounts which reflects the beginning. He's fine I'm just you know. The rabble rousers idiot bandits and villagers who were threatening. You probably shouldn't do that. He's not gonNA work out to mess with. Yeah he's he's two feet taller then everyone in this town. He's everyone's male nurse doesn't smile and has a scar on his face. Don't fuck with the dude. Probably not a good idea to fuck with them and the thing is like okay. Now we're going to get into like some sort play and it does thing which really bothers me. where it's like? We're game of thrones didn't really do this at all and I had to compare it to it but it's hard not to because again the most the biggest fancier that we've had for some time. Yeah I felt handled. Many will combat really well. This does the whole kind of slowing it down and kind of showing you. Well how he's hitting the people and everything. Okay you're trying to establish his combat style. It's like I can go with that. Just don't do it too much. The big sticking point that that sticks sticks in my craw is a you. CGI Blood and when they use CGI blood it immediately takes me out of it. It's an aesthetic thing. I mean you want to save money and you know they have so many for this. But there's not game of thrones budget that I can tell you right now there's a lot of CGI and some of the great the maybe his eyes look good but for for the for that one particular sequence it just didn't work and then they switched from the C. J. Blood back to real blood using squibb's and things it's like okay. You can't have both because then they steadily years the other it doesn't make it doesn't make a clean. No but I mean 'cause I'm actually kind of with you. I am much more when it comes to Berlin and whatnot. I much more on the right side of practical effects absolutely age better but I think that maybe it's one of these scenarios where they're kind of gauging versus and goes to give it that good up that money count because I if maybe if I haven't seen season. One game of thrones in a minute but maybe if we go back and might be more noticeable. There I'm yeah I you you could be right you know. It's it's been kind of twenty twenty two thousand ten twenty eleven so it's been it's been a while and they could have probably maybe. Did you see blood. I don't remember I just remember just a lot of just just Gore won't accept is I don I. Maybe it's just because it's the first episode but I am really not a fan of slow motion. Yeah down action comment Maybe to exemplify certain things. Like if you're like maybe it's like hey like we're enhancing one moment this entire entire long seat like long season. It's one time of slow but if it's an entire fight scene of that it really just throws me off because it's not natural to me. Yeah no I completely agree with you again. And I don't know if it continues on that way because there is like a whole `nother there's a battle sequence in this which is the other part of the episode which does not feature girled where they don't have that and so I'm thinking okay. So maybe they're just trying to establish like how he so good like almost systematic with how he battles and it's just like it's almost like a dance for him. It's maybe they just want to slow it down for people to see that where he's not like just these ordinary guys coming over with like fucking cleavers in clubs and say okay establishing. This guy's talented swordsman fair enough. And so maybe they won't do it But yeah for his part of the episode. I Like I like Henry Cavill you. Could you could clip that guys. I like Henry Cavill. So far is guilt of review. I've never every seen some. You say something that hurts so much I know I know you know. Ah He does he does. Oh y'all get involved. But he does a good enough job and I am looking forward to seeing how historic progresses through the series. I felt that stuff that it wasn't serving him. Well enough okay. was he the focal point of the episode. He was half the focal point. Okay the other point of the episode was dealing with the character character of Siri and her grandmother's kingdom which is being attacked by the Guardian The Guardian Empire. The bad guys the blackhawks. That's if you will. Who are coming there? Conquering most of the continent and this episode attempts to get into kind of the political situation of of what's going on in this world. The problem is that you're interacting with we. We don't really know too much about yet and again kind kind of tour to my point earlier. There's some aesthetic things that are just very very distracting and one of the things that I don't I don't mean to be cruel but they have the actress to play Sierra. I don't know her name or that is not after natural. I color. And she's also wearing contact lenses and so when she's having these emotional scenes are in these scenes.

Turkey primed to start offensive against US-backed Kurds in Syria

"Less than a few weeks after Donald Trump answer withdrawal of forces from Syria. The Turkish government whose offered to finish off the Slavic states remaining forces convinced the US president to pull polish. Well, it's worries that he's having second thoughts. There are concerns that anchor is offered to take Washington's place as a cover up for a plan to massacre Syrian Kurds, a minority group which Turkey considers a threat to its territorial integrity. I'd also a terrorist group well answering those concerns the Turkish form minister Mevlut cover solo described the potential for Kurdish massacre as a ridiculous excuse. But then warns that Turkey would launch an assault against Syrian Kurds. If President Trump did not follow through Paul Rogers is a professor of peace. Studies at Bradford university. Welcome to the program poll looking at the. Contrast between those two parts of Mevlut Cavusoglu statement. And it it would almost be laughable for weren't so serious. It would be I think the problem here is that when Trump old the pulled out from Syria that was immediately backtracked. Not least by his advisors Tenny. Mccown do this quickly. You got to take time for the was the problem of the relationship between Turkey, so essentially Trump's into national security adviser John Bolton went to the Middle East. He had this meeting him someday seems to being put a very kind of something of a debt Squibb the tux. Did not like being told by the Americans to lay off the cuts, and I think we're seeing this strong reaction. It's very much. I think of political statement, it doesn't necessarily mean that cuts the Tuchman actually going with full so they have a lot of troops on the bowl too. But essentially, I think it's a warning to the United States. Don't take us for granted. You know, we all the players in this region. You send you to pull out when exact? Gun to pull out. Sorry. Finish complete there. And I'll come back in the second. So I think essentially with less with something if a stalemate, but because this is a problem between two major NATO states, and in the United States depends pretty heavily took because it has a huge base, which is being key to the whole air war against ISIS over the last four or five years, I suppose just focusing on the emptiness or otherwise of the Turkish threats. I mean is it in any way gender because of course, you know, they could probably do this at any time if they were really motivated to the probably could mean if you won't try and look at it from the point of view of both the codes, very lunch communities, full countries and took himself. I mean, the Kurds the Donges number obviously are in southeast Turkey many kids in northeast Iraq will though they have internal political divisions. They've been running that out of the country pretty successfully relatively small numbers without any degree of independence in Iran. And then you have the group. Series, not very very strong. It has a reasonably he's political party, the P Y D, you have the people's protection units, the white PG who basically being providing the the militias if you like and within much of the area, and that part of the code ish homeland of news that phrase has actually being quite effective politically 'bout as you say from the Turkish point of view. They regard to the Syrian Kurds as the most radical elements in very close to the own PK key, the Kurdish will pouty into the TIs so opposed to the Turkey state. So it's really this issue that as far as a why to coach community concerned the Syrian Kurds got home with it that huge wind about what he will do now. So this is the problem from the Turkish point of view there for problem from the white occurred. If point of view than it is very important to try and see a protection for the codes and Syria. What do you read as the actual thrashed that? Face with Turkey, moving even more deeply into Syria because suppose, if if Donald Trump's inner circle are raising red flags you've got to get this. If even day are doing you've got the sense. That's the really is a threat to them. The is a major problem to accept that. And from the Turkish perception as phone as their relation with the assent regime that has been pretty groomed for a long time on the Turks really not a toll happy the way this terrible.

"So yes, I think you're right in part because some people on Twitter today were already starting to throw out polls in terms of like, okay. Bristol Myers Squibb is buying cell, gene. What what should the new name be? Should it be Bristol, gene? Should it be sell scrimp cell script? Not. I don't think that was how many votes no Bristol-Myers cell, gene. I I don't know. I don't care. I've got my I've got my share Bristol-Myers to deal with now, we're joking about this. But make no mistake. There are actual conversations taking place at Bristol Myers Squibb headquarters in New Jersey today, if they haven't been going on already about what is the name going to be what is the branding going to look like. Oh, yeah. Money is being spent. Yes. And if they get it wrong, you will be there to kick them in the teeth for a long time. I and others. Yes. If we do anything on this podcast. It's take shots at people who really below it when it comes to branding. Yeah. Yeah. And you know, what you've won a few of those. We had a couple of victories with certainly trunk to people who who came up with trunk saw the of their ways and went back to Tribune media. How you feel? I feel fine. I feel good. It's it's a little annoying be wandering around on crutches. Sure. But other than that. I'm fine sense. Where we're this is in the wake of talking about one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in America, I should ask. What was the best part of the painkillers? I actually didn't need them for very long. I didn't even need them. I think the day after because I wasn't up and around very much if I'd been up and around I would have needed them. But I was just lying down pretty much and not in real any real pain. So I can't speak to the the quality of the painkillers that I was on because they weren't killing that much pain, which is nice. I guess that's the best part is. I just didn't have I painted the moment that I heard everything pop and that was unpleasant. Right. That's that that does sound like the best part of painkillers. Yeah. Just not needed. Yeah. I remember the years ago when I throw out my back, and I remember after like after a day and a half or whatever, you know, finally seeing a doctor and getting some medication and once that first painkiller kicked in after the initial I feel so much better. The next thought in my head was oh, this is why people get addicted to this stuff. And I was like I got to get rid of these as soon as possible because there. Yeah. I didn't I didn't just I just really didn't have any pain to speak of every time. I got up I had some pain. But I didn't get up much nice. Yeah. Yeah. You have able bodied children who can fetch. That exports things for me. I could work on a laptop and just lie around for a little while I had to come back in eventually because it does you need to get out of the house. Absolutely.
