You do slow in several stretches getting over the Occoquan and beyond that a couple of stretches in Stafford as well. 66 is doing okay in a loop beltway that's going to be heavy getting up toward 270 as always from Tysons but outer loop is also slow from the American from getting to the American Legion Bridge from the 270 spur trying to get into Virginia. UK defense secretary Ben Wallace told lawmakers in the House of Commons that Britain is donating storm shadow missiles to the embattled country, the weaponry is known to be able to strike deep with a range of more than a 150 miles. "Unions at Rutgers university ratify new contracts formally ending a teacher's strike. Three faculty unions that include thousands of professors part time lecturers and graduate student workers at Rutgers overwhelmingly approved four year contracts that include across the board raises and additional job security for part time lecturers along with significant raises and job security provisions for graduate students. This formally ends the first such job action in the school's 257 year history. The union staged a 5 day strike as students were finishing their spring semester and preparing for finals and commencement. NYC to send asylum-seekers upstate to deal with influx
"New York City will send migrants upstate to deal with the influx. The mayor's office says about 60,000 asylum seekers have come to the city since last spring, and this latest plan calls for up to 300 single men to be bused on a volunteer basis to hotels in rockland and orange counties. The city will pay to feed them and for other necessities while they're there, mayor Eric Adams has denounced Texas governor Greg Abbott for sending asylum seekers to New York City without prior coordination, rockland county executive Ed day calls the mayor's plan reckless and says they're looking at getting a restraining order. River rafters say big California snowmelt means epic season
"California's big snowmelt has resulted in an epic rafting season. After years of drought, there is now a lot of activity among California's American river. The water is really cold. The spring runoff is fueling conditions for some of the best white water in years. It's really fast. There are parts of the river called triple threat dead man's drop and Satan's cesspool. Places that might seem really mellow. There's a lot of current going under the water at very high speed. "He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart. Yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. Ecclesiastes three versus 11 through 12. I lived in the Midwest of the United States almost my entire life up until two years ago. We would experience all four seasons, but it usually went something like this. 5 to 6 months of winter, two to three weeks of spring, four to 5 months of summer in two to four weeks of fall. I have to admit, winter was always my least favorite season and out of all the seasons and in the Midwest, it is the longest. I remember waiting for spring to come with great expectation. But come January, I would usually grow extremely impatient and ready to pack my bags and move our family to somewhere much warmer. Honestly, it was one of the main reasons our family did end up moving a thousand miles away to start a new chapter in the sunshine state. For many of my friends and family, they are longing for the warmer temperatures of spring to make their appearance in stay. Soon enough, the fresh leaves will fully cover what were barren branches and flowers will be in full bloom. None of us have to worry if the seasons are going to change because they always do. God is a master artist like that and has it all under control. Just like seasons are set to a specific time that God ordains. So are events in our life. And on and even bigger scale, our journey with him as it unfolds. Only he knows how to take a rebellious heart of stone and transform it into a heart of flesh that praises his holy name. This profound reality of God forming a life and one who learns how to deny self and worship the lord is not an overnight event. No, just like seasons change in their own time, the change of a life for the glory of Christ is a process. In God's perfect timing, we will begin to see the transformation.

Officials: US to send Ukraine $300 million in military aid
"With the spring offensive expected and reports of low ammunition supplies, the U.S. is sending its 37th tranche of military aid to Ukraine at the same time Russia's spurring its industry to boost weapons production. I'm Ben Thomas with an update. Russia's defense ministry has released footage of tank crews firing on targets. It says, are Ukrainian forces. At the same time, minister Sergey shoygu says he's instructed the state owned company that makes high precision weapons to double production in the shortest possible time, a UK defense ministry assessment says Russia does not have enough munitions to successfully remain on the offensive. On the other side, the Biden administration is sending Ukraine another $300 million in military aid. Artillery rounds howitzers air to ground rockets and ammunition. Plus Hydra 70 unguided rockets that are fired from aircraft and the rockets for high Mars, high mobility systems, U.S. Military aid to Ukraine since Russia's invasion now totals about $36 billion. "So Tyler, tell us an update from the RNC spring meeting. So we just got back from Oklahoma City, the RNC met for our spring meeting on the National Committee man for Arizona as most of our listeners are aware. But, you know, it was a very interesting circumstance that we had in Oklahoma City. They call this the training meeting, but a lot of individuals that were there, it was like walking on eggshells, I could tell a significant shift in the people who normally, I guess would suck up to the machine. In the RNC, completely shifted away from that. But what was most concerning about the meeting that most people need to be aware of is I was really let down. I actually put out a tweet last night that said, I'm really let down at the direction of what we're doing here because in every meeting that we had, there was not significant conversation around how we're going to win, what we're going to do to win. What were the pieces that were missing? You know, it's been now we're going on 5 months, almost 6 months since the election. And there's not a lot of answers that we can go back and tell our people. And you brought up the most important point here, which is the left is focused on building the infrastructure and the machine to win the office. And that doesn't take away from the defense. And that's kind of how I explain it to people out there. Look, you have a defensive side of the ball and you have an offensive side of the ball. The defensive side is election integrity. The RNC should be dominating at the election integrity front should be investing millions of dollars into protecting. But the RNC can't do just straight up can not do all the work that's necessary in order to put the offense on the field.

"Joining us now is Julie Kelly from American greatness at Julie. Welcome back to the program. What is the backstory here? Proud boy J 6 case goes to jury, let's start from the beginning. Who is getting tried? What are the allegations here and why does it matter? So there are 5 members of the Proud Boys, including their group leader and ray gay tario, who have been undergoing this four month trial marathon trial in Washington D.C.. The first set of charges Charlie were handed down to four of these men in the spring of 2021, four of them have been held in pretrial detention meaning denied bail as they await a trial. This will be almost two years, these innocent men have been held behind bars, so this trial is going on closing arguments were Monday and Tuesday. They face seditious conspiracy charges, conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, various other charges. So this went to the jury on Tuesday afternoon. They continue to deliberate and we're waiting to see what happens. Unfortunately, this Department of Justice has a near perfect conviction rate in January 6th trials. So it's very likely these men will be found guilty of a charge that is comparable to treason, which is seditious conspiracy. So what exactly did these men do on January the 6th, 2021? What were their actions? What did they do? They did a variety of different things. And Charlie, this is a First Amendment case. It's very important. And I have a lot of coverage at American greatness and greatness dot com. But the government really relied on chat messages and encrypted chats, private messaging. They had almost 500,000 messages, not just for Proud Boys, Charlie, but numerous FBI informants who were embedded in the group months before January 6 who were also present in these group chats.

You know that whole area in there so a ton of shopping and disney springs is easily a two day trek on. its own. if you wanna really start looking around and also this is just a current fact. Some stores that are not disney owned. Do have different code protocols in place than disney stores they are different. They're they run by their own sort of corporate covert pro. Yes so that's just another thing to remember. And if you love eating. It's another great reason to consider staying in this area. If you're going on an instagram vacation i also recommend this because the springs has great photo spot man. You're not kidding tons and tons of them you know. We're guilty of this too. We too often don't spend enough time just really looking around and enjoying it. We did a little bit more on our last cova trips so to do. Yeah we didn't do parks as much as much so there is so much to do and see and really look around and you know you can. You can love the food and wine at epcot which we do. But it's sort of like an all year round food festival at disney springs. There's literally something for everyone and it's not all table service. There's really good quick service dining at disney springs as well so you don't always have to have a reservation so those are a couple of reasons if you love shopping and you loved dining and you still go to parks and things. Disney springs is a great thing to consider. Because it's not actually that difficult to get to parks from the resort area. There are lots of different ways to get to the parks. There's a bunch of different transportation. It's almost harder to get to disney springs from different hotel than to get to a park from dizzy springs with that because disney springs. Traffic is so bad especially on the weekends. It's crazy because a lot of locals do go there because you don't have debate again. It's a cool sort of you. Get the disney vibe which is another thing. It's a very different vibe than all the other hotels first of all. Let's break this down so you were just talking about transportation. If you're staying at all key west or saratoga springs you will have free transportation from disney to all the parts. However if you're staying at a good neighbor hotel depending on which one it is. A lot of them have transportation. Some are paid though. So you're gonna want to check as your booking. Those hotels about their transportation options to the disney parks. Now i can't remember do. The disney buses have transportation from this brings to other parks. We don't really do that a lot. So i can't know. They tend to go to hotels as far as i can. I'm just thinking of the bus signs there because we when we went from a park to springs we covered or vice versa. And so first of all. They're the bus. "All about the disney springs resort area. Disney springs resort area. One of four. What i call it the disneyworld neighborhoods. I like to talk about them that way. There's the magic kingdom neighborhood the best one and if you are longtime listener you may remember back in episode eleven quite a while ago we talked about the magic kingdom resort area. So if you want to listen to that and you haven't heard it head on back to episode eleven and then of course there's the epcot resort area and the animal kingdom resort area but today we are focusing on the disney springs resort area. Which is pretty underrated. I think it's i think. It's the most underrated resort area of all because it does not have theme parks associated with it so people just overlook it well. What if you don't like the theme parks or what if you don't know what's actually around there so that's what we're going to talk about today. It's sort of exploring. The disney springs resort area one of our favorite neighborhoods. I think it's grown on us over time. Wouldn't you say that. Oh yeah definitely because you start discovering more and more things you can do. That are not necessarily park related which i mean now with the parks being super weird. That might be a good thing for you to go and try and first. Let's talk about accommodations to start with. Because there are two deluxe disney resort villas properties rate at disney springs. One of them is disney's saratoga springs resort and spa which is quite a nice spa. And the other is disney's old key west resort. Both of these are kind of similar in a sense similar in a sense we prefer saratoga springs personally. Because you know why. I forget why i just know i do. Because it's walkup if you stay in college park it's walkable to disney springs so both of these resorts that's not a plus for me are located on or around lake point of vista. Which is the body of water at disney springs. In case you did not know that also the main street name most of the streets so very popular very popular name buena vista and not is lake boina vista and in this area. "We're going to be talking. All about the disney springs resort area. Disney springs resort area. One of four. What i call it the disneyworld neighborhoods. I like to talk about them that way. There's the magic kingdom neighborhood the best one and if you are longtime listener you may remember back in episode eleven quite a while ago we talked about the magic kingdom resort area. So if you want to listen to that and you haven't heard it head on back to episode eleven and then of course there's the epcot resort area and the animal kingdom resort area but today we are focusing on the disney springs resort area. Which is pretty underrated. I think it's i think. It's the most underrated resort area of all because it does not have theme parks associated with it so people just overlook it well. What if you don't like the theme parks or what if you don't know what's actually around there so that's what we're going to talk about today. It's sort of exploring. The disney springs resort area one of our favorite neighborhoods. I think it's grown on us over time. Wouldn't you say that. Oh yeah definitely because you start discovering more and more things you can do. That are not necessarily park related which i mean now with the parks being super weird. That might be a good thing for you to go and try and first. Let's talk about accommodations to start with. Because there are two deluxe disney resort villas properties rate at disney springs. One of them is disney's saratoga springs resort and spa which is quite a nice spa. And the other is disney's old key west resort. Both of these are kind of similar in a sense similar in a sense we prefer saratoga springs personally. Because you know why. I forget why i just know i do. Because it's walkup if you stay in college park it's walkable to disney springs so both of these resorts that's not a plus for me are located on or around lake point of vista. Which is the body of water at disney springs. In case you did not know that also the main street name most of the streets so very popular very popular name buena vista and not is lake boina vista and in this area. You can choose to stay if you wanna stay in. Disney deluxe resort or disney resort. You have to deluxe villas choices and villas are great. Because if you haven't stayed in one we've talked about those a lot. You get kitchens. Basically and laundry and kitchen. That's depending on the size. Both of these resorts are sort of set up like little communities like little subdivisions almost. They're not really hotel. Like in the way that you'd think of other hotels

I'm not You know we're not gonna do go that route now but the app is available everywhere as opposed to apple podcasts. Which makes it more attractive. There's no cut of the membership annual fee. Which makes it more attractive. I every and i don't know if you saw this in the podcast group this this week. There's a lot of people who were saying that for the first time this quarter. They're seeing their spotify numbers outdo their apple numbers spotify. Doing something good over there and this is going to attract people who want to do that. That multi-tier thing which i don't have a problem with the idea of multi-tier i i think it's a fine of business model especially if you've got one version that's got absent one version. That doesn't you know basically youtube red or whatever name. It's got now speaking of speaking of those things. I literally just got a push notification on my phone for one of the platforms. I'm subscribed to but has this model So you know it's it's a fine. It's a fine model. It's not one that i'm necessarily interested in pursuing for for my businesses but it makes sense and spa. If i was going to do it spotify would be the place to do it. If i wasn't going to do it on patriotic especially since taking a cut that makes it better than patriots and patron from what i've seen. I support. sarah support creators on patriot on. And and you know. I do enjoy. You know the little extras. But i'm not interested in like in your whole class. That's and for a lot of people. It's no different than twitch right where people pay to subscribe. Do you get anything special. You get ad free. You might.

We'll see some more Mac announcements some more m one stuff Because the mac pro hasn't been touched So almost certainly later in the year. Honestly the the idea that they're back to making their own silicon or at least designing their own silicon for the way. The company works makes sense Day the only way apple works and they proved this when they tried to do clones in the late nineties early. Two thousands while steve jobs have been fired They proved that if they're not one hundred percent in control quality slips. And that's what happened. And so when they decided to go from motorola intel. I thought it an interesting move because it meant that they didn't have full control The hardware and you know things went sideways on them. And now they're back in control which means that they can target their operating system to their hardware which is what they've always been about. So i'm not surprised. Performance has gotten better the same processor running any other. Operating system is going to chunk because mac os is specifically designed for this hardware. But i i. It's a smart move. "When international travel ground to a halt last march. Many aliens left wondering where to park all of the grounded planes. There's only so much space at international airports and some climates and environments really on good places for long term storage. Although many airports around the world became temporary cowpox the need for longer-term across storage became a business opportunity. Facility facilities like azure pacific storage or a pass for short which is based in alice springs. Right in the middle of australia's red center as it happens. The hot dry and not very humid desert. Climate of alice springs makes it ideal for long term aircraft storage and the runway at alice. Springs is also long enough to be able to handle airbus a three hundred twenty four hours a day making that airport an ideal location if you have to park your plane somewhere. A pass was initially founded in two thousand and fourteen At the beginning of two thousand and twenty were around thirty planes stored there. Many of them were boeing seven. Three seven maxes which had of course been grounded since march two thousand and nineteen before covid nineteen it was a relatively small facility which was close to breaking even according to an article in the financial times back in january two thousand and twenty and the owners were at the time considering expanding the facility said that it can store up to seventy planes at a time today there are over one hundred and fifty aircraft stored right beside alice springs airport at the apex facility and it still growing the facility could eventually be expanded to store up to two hundred and fifty planes. I recently visited alice. Springs in the sheer scale of all the planes parked next to that. Airport is simply mind-blowing. They are rows of grounded planes lined up for several kilometers. The international long haul flights have been probably the most affected by the pandemic so that makes sense and i expect that probably a majority of cathay pacific's global wide body fleet is currently in alice springs. There was so many cat. Abc planes that's only the start of it. There are literally billions and billions of dollars worth of aircraft is sitting there on the ground. Alice springs. "And if you view it that way and you almost view the guest relations building as city hall like an impromptu city hall everything expands out from there and that kind of your basis for everything now. It's a little bit different difficult. I think to imagine that especially for people like us who experienced downtown disney so many times because you view like the world disney and the marketplace area. I always viewed that. That's the center of disney springs. Because that's where the buses used to drop you off. The west side was the far walk area. Remember didn't they didn't. They used to have boats. That would run you from one side to the other. Remember on a sleigh. i think they did. And so it's it's a little bit of a hard transition especially for people who've been there but if you try to think of it from a very clean slate that is now considered the epicenter of this town and of the see at a little funny to think like the closest thing to the springs is like deluxe burger. So who is. There's a lot of things in that area but yeah a lot of things come to mind. Homecoming comes to mind frontier casino. At like the sprinkles cupcake place to mind people argue. That's the best thing in disney springs who hugh It's interesting that the springs were man made. I feel like that's abundantly clear if you see them because they're so awful but because they're like the focal point of the story a lot of planning went into the building of the springs which is a fun element to this story so they actually poured the colors into the concrete and they mixed in like little pieces of glass to show like some dimension in the colors and the lie and in what i read online they only had thirty minutes to make it all happen to mix it all together and work with it before is started to harden and it's a pretty big springs area. Shallow though it's very shallow. But i feel like with the depth. I don't know. I feel like the color and the lighting could mess with you like i'm sure it is shallow like how shallow artha like two feet max. He's in could be more. I'd just for it to be the focal point.
