The Murder of Karina Vetrano

"Sixteen year old retired firefighter fill the TROTTO is a proud New Yorker. He grew up in the big apple. Raised his family there. Was Even a first responder to Ground Zero on nine eleven. For Him. All seem normal on August second twenty sixteen another sunny summer day as he enjoyed his retirement at home in Howard beach. A middle to upper class neighborhood in the borough of Queens. That afternoon, his thirty year old daughter Karina trotto invited him to go jogging through spring. Creek, Park as they had many times before. This particular day however Phil had a bag and decided against going for a run. But this didn't discourage Carina. She was an avid runner and it was a beautiful day. He was going for a jog with or without him. They'll new his daughters jogging trail that it was known to occasionally attract migrants. Expressed, concerned about her going alone. I don't think it's a good idea told her. But CORINNA. was. Being Carita. After all she'd run this same trail by herself many times before. Don't worry daddy she said before leaving. I'll be okay. But worry would begin to set in when late afternoon churn to evening And Karina at still not returned from her jog. Fill. Called her cell phone. No answer. And he called again. And again. And again. Still. No. Answer. and. No Return Call. What Phil didn't know is that Corinna was unable to answer her phone. And she would never. Be Coming Home Again War. Anger. We've all felt it. Whether IT'S A. Annoy annoyance a full full-on rage. Or somewhere in between. But. How we manage our anger is different for everyone. Some people manage their anger by counting to ten. Or perhaps taking a moment to focus on your breathing. Others go to the gym and lift weights or punch a punching bag. Some people repeat a mantra to calm themselves down while others talked with therapist or take anger management classes. Whatever the method managing your anger is more important than you realize because when something makes us angry and. We don't deal with it. It can manifest and lead us to taking out our anger on other people that have nothing to do with what made us angry in the first place. In psychology this is known as displacement. Or more specifically displaced aggression. And the interesting yet scary thing about displaced aggression. Is that it is a defense mechanism. And it usually occurs unconsciously. Let's pretend your boss yelled at you for something that wasn't your fault and they just won't listen to reason. Vending your frustration at that point on them. Could get you fired. So you hold onto your anger until you get home. Where you find yourself almost without realizing it. Snapping at your spouse or your children or even your pet at some minor irritation at they've caused. This scenario is an example of displaced aggression. When all your frustration has built to a near breaking point in a small unrelated action tips over. Unleashing disproportionate outpouring of anger when guilty of this behavior at some point in our lives to varying degrees. But for most of us, it's not really a big problem. We apologize for our brief angry temper if we need to. And move on. But can displaced aggression caused someone to do something that they cannot apologize for? Something that they can't take back. Something violent. Could displace. Digression. Caused someone to murder a complete stranger. Unfortunately as you'll soon learn. The answer. Is Yes. I'm an angel purity. I am an angel yearning from charity. I'm an angel, his wings so wide ready to take flight. I am an angel with a dark side. This is Korean. "I welcome back. Welcome in this garden line. I got a couple of special guests. If you're on hold you're going to be on hold for a little while because I invited my friends with atlas foundation repair to come in kind of give an overview of something that's been going on that I need to talk about before we get to rob and Mark with atlas and just a second company to remind everybody this kind of the PSA that we talked about yesterday, and it has to do with sweet green and Nitra false that is backed up in the Gulf, that sounds horrible. But the ships that were coming in from South America, that has the, the base material that is the sweet green is stuck out in the ship channel, and as because was trying to beat the tariff new tariffs coming in, but they promises by the eighteenth. They'll should have it in the night. False warehouse. They'll bag it up again and get it out to all the by the end of the week. So just give it another week, if you wanted the sweet green as your early green up on our schedule, you're just gonna have to wait and you can the early green up is a window. Of a month. Okay. Starts usually February fifteenth and runs all the way through March fifteenth, if you will. So if you can't get it down today don't panic if you just wanna use the Nitra false fifteen five ten that's fine, too. I've did make one little promise that go through a list of the locations that I needed to do. So. Let me do that real quick. If you're going to sweet gray, and you're doing the fifteen five ten nightfall, four, pound jugs, the jungle and potting soil. Here's a quick hit on the list. Places like Barings hardware in chanted forced and enchanted gardens. I need to tell you about them at the bottom, the they're doing a great class, this coming, Saturday, plantation as hardware, Katie as hard as Cinco ranch. See there's a lot of ace hardware, also carry all this Nitra fall stuff. We knew that, right? Heating and feed and supply, our CW nursery, plants for all seasons. We were just talking about Warren southern garden shades of Texas, stands down, and Alvin lake hardware, Angleton include fishers, hardware, all over the place from LaPorte to baytown, and they've got you covered when it comes to the Nitra false product, so. Without further. Ado. Ladies and gentlemen, say good morning to rob shazier and Mark Chamberlain. One of the managers, robbed shavers son of the man who started atlas foundation repair, and they are here because I need them to explain to me. I don't want to say it's a new service because they've always done it. But since hurricane Harvey a much needed service in raising the foundations home, so they don't ever flood again. First of all, turn on your microphones and say, good morning to the masses out there. Good morning, Randi good ready? No, I'm not the I said, the mass say, good morning, every morning, everybody everybody radio before. I know that it's good to see you, though, by the way, I'm seen Robin a long time. It's been a long time as out of my house, personally in Cyprus, many, many years ago when I thought out if I tell the story to true story, right? I thought I had a foundation problem you came out and did the tests, you're taking quit. -ment tag, Randy. It's just a cosmetic problem. That's right. Gets get customers. We go out and look at their homes. We tell them that they don't have a foundation problem and Mark, how many years. Got without LaSalle. Close to eight years now. Cool. All right. So here's the point Harvey really in two different ways in a number on foundations. Whether raging waters around, it washing things away, or we ended up with flooding and a lot of people have started seeing need to raise their foundations, and that's it's fascinating to see. And I've seen it happen, my neck of the woods on certain houses, there by spring creek. But. You gotta be able to trust the, the company that's doing this. And I didn't know that there were storm chasers in raising foundations. That is scary. It's, it's an interesting thing that's happened in foundation repair as storms have gotten bigger as it's gotten more widespread, there's companies that are moving from New Jersey down to Houston in the look into race foundations. And then if they get them done, they'll be back to New Jersey. I got to think that more that the anybody that's moving in from another state in north of the Mason Dixon line doesn't know our soil's very well at all. No, they don't and that means a lot to someone like me. If you're gonna work on foundation, you better know our soil's first and foremost. Absolutely. An atlas foundation appears been doing it. What since nineteen seventy seven seventy some time in there to make all filled again. And I just can't understand how anybody would hire outta town company or any inexperience 'cause I gotta think it takes a awful lot. Of work to raise a foundation of a home without damage. Sounds like it's to just raise it up without damaging the home and still get it above of a flood plain in the future. Yeah, that's the interesting part, actually, the lifting of the home is really the quick and easy part of it. We can lift a home in eight inches in about a minute. Or two. Then you reason set everything up and lifted again, but the real hard part is pushing those pilots in the ground making sure that you've got them in a right to hold the house, once it's up. I guess I don't explain that to me further. One guys jumping on this. It's not just packing a bunch of clay soil on down after you raise the home. No, it's, it's a very tedious process. It's, it's a hydraulic lift. I mean the thing about it when people are doing this process, very personal decision for everybody. Everybody involved in we take a personal as well the process, the process is just a hydraulic process with the whole house lab at all your disconnecting, plumbing disconnecting, AC, the whole nine yards and opinion. We've lived at houses. Hi, six feet. I visioned that I've seen it like I said near spring creek, and I've seen it six eight seen it raised up ten feet. But I'm thinking, okay, we'll all that dirt eventually is gonna wrote away again. How do you guarantee that doesn't happen? Well, what, what, what you do the process, put into wall around, basically, what you're doing is creating a process like a pure being new, creating something similar to a crawlspace up underneath a house. So you're basically putting a wall or something to keep that from happening. So I've been endorsing atlas foundation repair atlas was part of guard line before I came on so, yeah, the, the bills acts and John Burroughs speaking for back then when your dad started the company and one of the things that I remember, I don't hear as much in the as I heard in the past, as I know what foundation repair. It's just I'm seeing cracks and the drywall in the brick and stuff like that. But what is that system, without raising the house, as that any different from what we're talking about with raising the foundation, basically the installation of pilings, the same weather, where lifting a house of quarter of an inch or lifting six feet in the air. It's just a matter of the number of pilots. We'll put into the ground typically with foundation repair. You got a problem, one part of the home. And so we will fix just that part of the home. Whereas if you're lifting the house, you have to put all the way around the outside all the way through the middle. But the actual installation of the is the same. Okay. So the other part of that was real fun. We used to say the cable lock system, king is that still exist anymore. The original cable box dome is no longer in use. Patents expired on it. And no one's actually using that system anymore. We'll get. That's what I knew we stopped using the sound effect many years ago. But I didn't really know why it was always fun for the producer, always play the sound effect after we talked about foundation repair. Let me do this. I'm gonna take a quick break told you this. Go. Fast furious, we have stay on clock. We'll come back few more questions for rob Shays Mark Chamberlain atlas foundation repairs. I like to call the man of atlas and we'll be back in just a moment, right here on News Radio seven forty. K. T. R H. Here we go again, I want to get everybody speaking of soils, this is not going fix your foundation, but we're going to keep the soils healthy around the house, all the time in vest, and the soil activator what we were just talking about after Harvey. We have so many soils need remediation, if we're bringing in a bunch of clay and a bunch of San we have mixing that, and then top dressing with the Medina soul activator, the Medina, plus is going to enrich the soil over time. You're gonna get the bio remediation you're gonna get basically probiotics. The soil. It's like yogurt for the soil when you add the Medina soul activator and Medina. Plus starting vesting in it. If we're still dealing with soil remediation issues after Harvey eighteen months later, you need the Medina products, you need all of Medina products with a question yesterday. Somebody called in and said, if you had forget, the plant, now if you had it and just needed to green it up. What would you use? And I would say use the Medina for lawns because it's a twelve four eight talk about a cool in PK formula. Like join our talking about earlier today to green things up there, yellowing. I'm going to use Medina has to go for launch. I'm just gonna mix like two ounces per gala water and do a drenching or a fuller feed with Medina dot com. Check it out every nursery every guard center every store, every ace hardware stores carries.

"Of a bill you call feral swine but like common vernacular where you had this idea of a wild pig introducing disease to a domestic counterpart is sort of the opposite of the fear around domestic dear introducing disease yeah to their wild counterpart yeah but yeah it is it's off that's off topic yeah we've kind of breezed over like the problems you know the pigs do and how and why but can we just get into that a little bit more like you talk like you're like wow water quality but what exactly do they do to diminish water quality and or are they doing to kill all these crops rallies formers exactly well one of the creeks that we were hunting around down here it looked better this year stephen i walked past it but last year this real lush little spring creek and the spring was really pump and yesterday when we were down there it was just absolutely decimated with rooting i mean you go down there and you're expecting to be in this real serene natural valley and it looked like a monster truck had been ripping up and down this spring creek now this is way back in a wilderness so very few people are laying there is on that but if that was your private property though it'd be infuriating to you so you would call the government or whoever your representative is and say something has to be done about this invasive species that's destroying you know my landscape that would be there in their feeding this routing it all up and it just turns into mud and on their just wallo in and routing and now all that that mud and sediment is running in.
