"Joe. While I'm talking about even his Yo that was funny though. I think we do already looks like my Mans helped me on notice Eddie talking this see this Eddie talking on. Bob. Would he got force? Do. Money, because spending on our fighters out business. Find. Out. Bobino said. I go low money because I'm spending it on. Alpha isn't out business the amendment very difficult is Alpha the vicinity. How much cut? A said I'll pass. Said I. Don't even think it was that much less than he's GonNa get from flat TV to you. But by then it was so pissed off inside. But he's headed gone. Basically. What we have to? Just bring. Back from in a commercial world is understanding the boxing of four am in the moon. Doesn't work right and he doesn't right. So it's all very well saying the noise on Social Mate Wall. He's right now and that's true. That's true. You GotTa do. Financially, right for your company and your network, you know buying an American fight at four in the morning that isn't a fight that's going to keep people up. Makes no sense now if you buying? Earl. Earl Crawford UK's GonNa stay up. They're to stay up but are they going to stay up when everybody's got coffered what eighty twenty? What's the percentage you given Calbert to win here? I mean look this is exactly what I was referring to before. You know you you out there saying that you know you're not read. You know you're not training as you should you got. You know your main trainer training you all that stuff drops percentage from me. So you know I'm giving them You know if I'm gonNA start playing with numbers and slicing the Pie. I mean we all know coffers the favorite. He was already seventy percent to win. You know what I'm saying like. I don't know what I give them. Now you know I'm GonNa have to see how Phidias how he looks at the scale but at this point with the information of not giving them a high percentage of not giving them. Yeah. I'm not giving them no fifty I'm not giving them no forty I'm I'm barely giving him thirty and he would have impressed me if he would have. Came in and all one hundred percent you know with the team and everything you know full weeks. But as of right now, you can't give him too much percentage I'm GonNa obvious misinformation could be you know a thing here where know strategies are being played but who knows this and I'm Gonna I'm GonNa give him the benefit of the doubt because Kelly Brook has never missed wait. There's never been a report KOBUK missing. Wait I'm saying check also at the same time I feel like being that. This is a big fight. He's not going to drop the ball. He's a professional. He's GonNa come he's in the show up. You know what I'm saying how much of him short that is. Francis. He showed up for the big fighter. We thought he wasn't GonNa make that way because. BAGGIES. Did Guy Did Absolutely barbaric then. The rumors were stronger. Then he couldn't make the way he was saying I can't make the way. Eddie was an interview saying I'd rather vacate the belt. So. He made the way back then so it's not a question of, can he make it? The question is always going to be how he looks after he made that way and that's and that's what I'm trying to say to you. Because of that I don't I can't remember remember the Sports Academy Down in Sheffield, sports? Academy it that's that's world renowned lot of athletes throughout Europe they go there and they trained to have all the new hole, all the new equipment and they provide the nutrition for these fighters to make the way great if you can afford it and because I know Kelly has been using, he can afford it. That's why he's never missed weight. This is not like a situation where you're not sure if Devante is GonNa make weight because he's missed weight before or a Louis neary who was missed before benefits just it is effective he's never missed weight. So the way. Issue it's about mcgillis draw how strong years after he made the way squishy hydrates right and I feel like with the team, they have the right rehydration plan for him also to to be the best cal now here's here's the good part. When he held IBF title, the IBM have that ten pound weight limit clause, and he did it for as long as he had the title. And he was comfortable. He wasn't drained. He was dry was dehydrated. He was week and now this the WTO. Championship fight doesn't have a weight clause. He can be even more hydrated after he weighs in at one forty seven. And look at that. They do have that in Sheffield and but it's all a matter of of the individual man it's like. You might have all this stuff at your door and are you taking advantage of it and and that's the thing is. Like you he's made wait he's never and that's and that's okay. But there's plenty of guys in his sport who never not made weight. But when they do make it, they're not the they're not always at their best. You know in health and everything else and we hear about it all the time and he's just been look. He looks he may not not make weight he makes it but he just looks a little suck down and is he? Still a formidable opponent at this weight is he making healthy? Does he feel healthy? You know what? I'm saying that was all the questions that really rise for us. And you know him saying that you know six weeks is what he's GonNa Train Alex does give me no, they don't no. No indication of of of discipline. You know what I'm saying go ahead does Debate what you're saying. He's the type of fighting that if he's not fighting like, yes some fighters that gave big and you have some fighters again big big. He's wanted to get big big type of fighters like you sneak down in each chocolate brownies and cookies stuff during camp like he's just love to eat you know what I'm saying and that's one of his main problems. But if you know he gotTa make the way to do something like a big fight like that he doesn't man he does it he comes up to the task he looks sucked down but that's just how body structures how his skin looks when he he goes down to a certain weight And, and the team is amazing like having your own nutritional team like Alex, aretha or.

Helicopter In Kobe Bryant Crash Being Investigated

"The noise the other big story that's been developing all week was the investigation to the helicopter crash that killed Kobe Bryant his daughter and seven other people the investigation has been focusing a lot on the fog and weather but it's also going to look into the helicopter itself and the pilot who received clearance to fly in poor weather conditions there is also been conversation about terrain awareness warning system that possibly could have prevented the rack but in this case that warning system was not present on the helicopter that Kobe was flying on the NTSB has been arguing for a decade and a half that system to prevent crashes should be mandatory helicopters that accommodate six or more passengers such as a Sikorsky S. seventy six helicopter that he was flying in but these efforts have been turned aside from the FAA the NTSB will be releasing a preliminary report on the accident soon but for more on what we know so far we spoke to Chris and Carla he's a news correspondent for I heart media in Los Angeles to tell us a little bit more about what we know about the investigation so far the NTSB right now he's drawing out all of the physical what they call perishable evidence so anything bad maybe call it did hear a dog in the open or that needs to be collected in order to piece together the puzzle a little bit later there could be looking at many different aspects of this crash though that people given the books of the company they'll get into the background of the pilot we'll get it there what the air traffic look like around southern California during that time and of course they'll get into the weather what were the conditions like they'll look at the engine of the aircraft to see if there was any malfunction or error there and then they'll also looking to be a mechanic that the aircraft industry that are everything was in good working order so all of that ball together is going to be the broader NTSB investigation what we heard today was a more ironed out time line of this flight that they took off John Wayne airport down in Santa Ana which is about seventy miles from Cameri out and it started its white worked its way up to Burbank and it without Burbank that the pilot requested to go from visual flight rules to special VFR special visual flight rules eat put in that request and the reason if you wanted a transit some air space there all along those with special rules which basically says that you can fly when the feeling of the feeling of below one thousand P. which is kind of a basic minimum and also with less than three miles of visibility so they ended up circling right around the the airport there Burbank about twelve minutes hold that request was approved and it was at that point that they started to work their way back down the one eighteen freeway and using the freeway they follow the one eighteen to the one on one end and work their way down toward camera as they are packed Burbank the band I fear space they then requested fly straight through the Cameri which was where they were going to land the the pilot requested what's called flight following and basically that just means there's a constant contact if you will between air traffic control and the pilot the air traffic control that that the pilot was flying too low for flight following that's not necessarily a warning as much as the it's just a statement of who we are we can help you out based on where you are can't get a new whatever it is that they need in order to maintain that following the pilot been requested two wives add to avoid a cloud layer and ask the air traffic control for clearance I was the last contact between the pilot and an air traffic control so of radar indicated that the aircraft rose to about twenty three hundred feet and then there was the old black descending turned and then that was the last radar contact what we know on the ground is that when it hit it was at just about one thousand eighty five feet above sea level and the the pre field is about five to six hundred feet they've got a pretty it didn't scatter you know if you if you think about your crap accidents and crashes often those debris fields will last for maybe a half mile or a mile or even further so they can join idea of just how hard the aircraft was able to it hit the surface there yeah and it's still it does really seem like the weather I've probably played the most important factor obvious we don't know yet if there was any type of mechanical failure or whatnot but just all those requests or and and he was granted the pilot was granted to fly in these poor weather conditions it just really seems that all of that is adding up to what was the culprit and as you said in the end when he climbed up and then drop back down so rapidly that was where everybody unfortunately perished and and you know investigators and and corners were out there trying to gather remains and even the terrain there is a little difficult they all had to to hike in and and be flown in as well yeah so the NTSB is actually asking for pictures for people who are around Calabasas and had taken pictures of the weather conditions or had taken pictures somewhere near the crash site they can get an idea of what the weather conditions were like they were also pretty quickly after making that request did they were pretty quick if they live and it's not that we're just focusing on the weather here there are all of these other factors we have to look into but this is just one important piece of the puzzle certainly there are and there is a lot of reporting out there about how difficult it is the flying conditions like this how big back while there was it specifically above Cameri all our Q. three above but how about this and how easy perhaps we could have been for the pilot to become disoriented while the either asking for that for that increase in altitude or while out what movie across what had been activated is that the aircraft hit the help that is a pretty high rate of speed around a hundred sixty miles an hour so yeah they they they told you that the pilot was at least moving with a certain degree of purpose yeah and every time there's a crash a plane crash or something like that people always ask is there a black box and that's not the case with this one right there's nothing there was no black box on this helicopter no they're not required to be black box on aircraft like that and yet in court to talk about the aircraft as well as the course you that if the twin engine aircraft built yeah that that's important when you're trying to narrow down the possibilities of what could happen because yeah we have two engine I mean one failed you least have enough power to to work your way back down to the ground in an emergency landing in in this case we didn't hear any sort of emergency call there was no mayday that we know of infer that tells you that whatever happened happened quickly and was catastrophic enough that the pilot couldn't even get anything out on the radio which in most cases is instantaneous it's always important to remember the victims and all of this obviously everybody knows Kobe Bryant and and you know the world the sports world a lot of people really feel for that but you know it also included in the victims were his thirteen year old daughter Johnnie who goes by Gigi us some of her friends that I play basketball with her their parents and coaches I mean that they were on their way to one of Kobe's sports at tournaments are one of the or their basketball tournaments where his daughter was going to play and you know these were all just people United by the sport of basketball obviously a lot has been made about his daughter and her aspirations with basketball and they've seat been seen together at Laker games but these are the victims really a very close knit group of of people who who played basketball together and he coached the team things like that yeah you know it's important to think about this in the in the context of what they were doing and where they were going so that the mamba cop was this big back all tournament and I thought that the mamba sports academy which was something started in created by Kobe Bryant not just for use force but also yeah I'll be here great stories about NBA players who trained up there with Kobe or with other players it's just a really nice facility or not only basketball but also other sports like volleyball up there and so you you're you've got these people that are geared to go go back up there again there down in Newport beach seventy air miles from from thousand oaks and if anybody knows anything about southern California Subir mild bout five hours of driving when you really consider traffic even on a Sunday so that they give you an idea of why graph they were flying up there and they're flying up there with the number of people who were from the neighborhood and yeah I guess not really hidden within the strategy but certainly a piece of the strategy tragedy if you have a couple of families that are just but I mean they're incredibly impacted the other fellow for all the belly family had three family members the the father the wife and one of their daughters on that flight so you've got I think there are two other kids who now are having to deal with basically losing more than half of their family Chris and Carla news correspondent for I heart media based in Los Angeles thank you for joining us yeah of course

"To defend Kobe's John Kerry turned the personality was it wasn't always fair to call the because he was such a you know it was is one of those scenarios where your talent talent near success is both a blessing curse and so for Kobe. You know I distinctly remember. He would always have to have his bodyguards around multiple. Hope you know he couldn't just walk out in and go and taking some fresh air. He couldn't just go in. Go to the mall or catch a movie on the road and do some of the things that we did so it it was it was it. was you know we saw Kobe on Game Day. We saw Kobe practice. We didn't see Colby. You know at the club when when when the team was gonNA celebrate elaborate a big win. We didn't see Kobe yet. The dinners with a lot of times when we were going to go hang out. And I mean there were times of deal with mandate that we all did a few things as you know for team building but it just I mean Andrew Bynum. We went bowling all the time. You know we would hang out do different things it's called. We couldn't do those type things in Oh because he was too recognizable in especially especially in L. A.. The there was no way he would have been able to to be able to interact in just freely Move about right. I think that gets lost in the conversation when people talk about him being so isolated. It's very hard for him to those everyday things and a lot of people don't kind of consider that aspect of it but I was also impressed with this evolution later in his career as he started his teammates more he seemed to start spending some more time with different guys. Also says evolution Off The floor. Whenever whenever he was talking about retiring there were so many people saying? I don't know what he's going to do without basketball. IS HE GONNA be okay because he was so driven and so focused on the game but you know we saw even retirement. He had so much success and he seems so happy he was able to win an Oscar launch successful studio He was able to you build the Mamba Sports Academy and continue to grow that. So I think you know. Where did you make of his evolution as he started to not only trust teammates more layers career? But you know a terrific father that you know his life revolved around his daughters and to be able to do off accord in retirement as well. Yeah I mean I hate to say this is I don't want to minimize anything. That he did on the court because what he did is like you know. Obviously it's it's it's it was stellar you know and But I I was equally impressed with his ability to mature and grow in transition. Take away from basketball as anything he did on the court. I mean it you know for him to be able to go from being somewhat introverted At times throughout his career new. See the challenge with his shack. Certain things like that. But it's like all the man he evolved. And just as I said he mature man he became unim- Bassett or a mentor to players. You know Dane Lillard in so many different individuals you know. Talk about how how they would seek advice from him you know So many You know the detail show the fact that he could go on interviews guys in in in bring so much value to to the sports sports fan in do it in a way that you know he was really refined really professional and to me to be able to wash those those things with with with with him in in the see the father that he was in the see how much she loved his wife. You know it's just like man those things I take my hat off to him in. Oh yeah absolutely. And I mean I think wanting according to you and I have talked about this a lot but the transition from playing to retirement You've been involved with different programmes through the national basketball retired the players association. I think you know it shows that if Kobe who was so you know singularly driven and focused on basketball was able to you know launch these other ventures and have all this awkward success and really just be so successful in retirement. I think anyone can do it. I think he's sort of laid. A blueprint for players do continue succeeding and enjoying life after leaving the NBA and with how many young players look up to coby have always looked up to Kobe. I think that's a really important part of his August two. Would you agree that other players kind of copy. That blueprint I wouldn't again. I mean Kobe He said President not only for himself but for others others who have the superstars who do make a lot of money right and in those who are are kind of unsure what what to do with themselves after they make all this money in. It's like you know e yet he was there around the team he was also in the media. He was still there being present with his family in the building out the You know the Mamba Sports Academy in different things you know he added Venture Group. I mean he to me I just I just really liked right that he excelled in so many different areas in in when you have a person who can be that successful not only on the core in other ventures is just means that they have the work ethic in they have kind of that quote unquote eat factor in Kobe Bryant. Lotta factor to a lot of us as fans in just a to everything that he did for sure. Yeah I had him on the podcast. I was fortunate enough to have an in depth conversation with NPR podcast and we talked about that and he talked about how you know. You have to start preparing caring for retirement before you're done playing. And that was a big heat his success and then you know he was so successful in everything he did off decor to and I know that was some of his that some of the things he was most proud of being able to win an Oscar be able to have so many successful investments in different companies. That was something that really drove him and he was equally as proud as those things he was five championships and for a while. That was hard to imagine for Kobe. Just because of who he was and the fact that he was so focused on basketball. But but I think his transition to success after basketball was really inspirational and really cool to see so. I doubt something that definitely should be talked about Roswell. We're talking about his legacy but speaking of his legacy. How would you like for Kobe to be remembered? ally for him to be remembered as as as more than just the basketball player who achieved a lot of You know statistical a success in a lot of accolades in the five championships and all of those different things. I mean I would love him to be remembered as as an icon in a pillar in our in our community and not just sports culture budgets in American culture for sure. Is it true that Kobe would put together the scout reports for certain games. I know you were saying that. He would run shoot arounds in. He knew basically every other team but he would put together your sky reports at times. uh-huh yeah I mean I say to. You know they used to be saying it came from like like a lot of good coaches will say that field in different people say you know they say you can't trick babies. ABC can't trick. You know all stars talent you know like you can't trick like someone who who's really talented and in Cali fit fit in that in that analogy in that you know a lot of coaches. He knew more than than than a lot of people who played the game at the people that know how to play the Game Matt his level so he could see things that a lot of individuals couldn't in so he would share those you know when he would was effective in sharing what he knew with with a lot of our players. Man It it. It really made a huge difference in as we said you know in that was an evolution for him to be able to to learn how to convey what was in his mind. Mind things that were so easily easy for him to do with other people who were less talented than he you know. That's where a lot of the frustrations that you see that you get you've seen it with Michael Jordan. When Johny transitioned out and he was trying to elevate the Charlotte Hornets in you hear the stories when he was beaten the players?.

It was just all so much like I had to leave the memorial service because it was getting I was just getting too emotional like I was like. Oh my goodness I feel I feel his presence there and it is crazy it was just really really crazy. I'm it is I quickly mentioned in the previous segment. Even you know. Many sports fans in basketball fans admired his work on the court for but she was also very respected and very admired For his work off the court and after Kobe. Bryant's death this Sunday His short film has oscar-nominated Oscar. Winning short film. Dear basketball was super hard and difficult to watch online online. But is now viewable for free on the Internet Greenwich Studios The NBA Stars Multimedia Production Company Buzney made the Academy Award Winning Film Dear Basketball now available for free This Monday afternoon on dear basketball DOT COM website. And the meal. And if you guys haven't seen this short film it's like probably like a two three minute film Dear basketball is based on a poem that Koby Bryant row in November of two thousand fifteen to announce his retirement. So it's a year before his atonement and they'll the poem was published by Kobe Bryant by the player's Tribune which is a website that features first person accounts by pro athletes. And you know we we. I know when that video first released in two thousand fifteen we all were Celik. Oh no like. We obviously didn't want him to retire because everyone loved he was a beast on the core. A and again he was just super respected like he was a superstar. And now we have that Award Academy Award winning video to look back on and reflect. And Oh my God just like all the emotions like all these waterworks. At coming I watched the video and again I just got teary eye. Because like he's just so oh inspiring in every aspect and the NBA also has postponed the Lakers and clippers game. That was scheduled for Tuesday. which just tomorrow so they postponed? Obviously the the decision was made out of respect for the Lakers organization. which you know? They're deeply grieving. Even the tragic loss of this Lakers legend His daughter as well gee-gee Jonah and the seven other people who were involved in the helicopter crash Josh And like I was I was. I'm continuing to say his post basketball. Life has made him a legend on and off the court. Like he's he's just I respect him so much and as you're such a tragic as close to tragedy like I'm still at a loss for words. This is heartbreaking You know he even. He opened the Mamba Sports Academy training facility to help athletes improve on an overseas a series of sports fantasy children's book because he says that he just loves telling stories and he loves handing those tools that he wished he had growing up he. He loves handing those tools rules to the youth. And you know just inspiring them to be better and I just really admired all of his work on enough core 'em. This is even a setback for women's basketball. I mean since his retirement in two thousand Sixteen Koby Bryant has been boosting and supporting women's basketball and the WNBA in general you know from taking has his daughter's like Dj to Wnba Games to coaching his daughter. The basketball Kobe Bryant was setting the stage to become an invaluable contributor in arena. That needed support. Because I mean as we all know just women's sports in general doesn't get too much spotlight for one. They don't even get paid nearly as much or equivalent to men's lends a sports and I love the Kobe. Bryant was you know. Here's this. Powerful male figures sports figure who uses his voice to lift women's basketball and uses platform to shed light on them and be like. Hey you know. These women need to be treated is equal to men's sports and I love the he was in stealing those amazing values that Mamba mentality down to his daughter as as well and to g-gender threats just as whole story is so twisted because G G was literally she had so much potential like she was just starting to peak and women's basketball and the ED. WNBA was starting to look at her as well she had amazing highlights. I mean she was truly truly going to be carrying out the legacy of Kobe Bryant and I love to I mean obviously now with tragedy laws. There's so many interviews news pass interviews at Kobe. Bryant has done that resurfacing to kind of highlight. What a wonderful person he has been or has been in the forty one years of his life life and one of those being someone asked him or he was talking on this show about how people always coming go to him like man? You need a boy like we need to have a a son to carry out your legacy and how he and Kobe Bryant explained like I got gee-gee Jiji's got this. She's got it down. She's is going to be the one carrying out my legacy. You know in terms of basketball. He has four daughters and another. Just so heartbreaking. Taking thing is that he just had a baby with Vanessa Bryant like less than a year ago I think the youngest one Capri Kobe Bryant. She's six or seven seven months and now she's going to have to grow up not really knowing her father nor her sister and she also are they also have like a four year old baby girl and Taller. There's just so heartbreaking the truly is again my heart is so heavy talking about this and Dan even more because I experience like I was in La. When I got the news I was right next to the staple center? I went to the memorial service where it all just felt very real for for me and raw and my heart just goes out to everybody WHO's affected by this tragic laws family members friends of Kobe Bryant and the other two families also involved I mean is just really so so sad all over instagram Oliver Social Media every post that I see I'm scrolling that Kobe Bryant Kobe Bryant and my boyfriend's a diehard Lakers fan but more clubby fan and same with my uncle and I can't even imagine also like that was like your Colby Bryant was you know a lot of people's favorite a player especially Athletes like a lot of athletes looked up to him and he like the people that he meant toward really without you hem even knowing the end is just such a tragedy like a truly truly is and again I just want to say. I want to dedicate this whole episode to him to to Kobe Bryant. May he rest in peace and rest. Imperative is as walls his daughter. And I'm I'm going to cut into another quick break when we come back I will be talking about this. Year is twenty. Twenty Grammy's tired of searching the vast jungle of podcasts. Details emerge on "really smart guy" who aced tests in college scam

"So let's talk about operation varsity blues that is this this this cheating scandal case that has drawn a ton of attention. And I think for all the right reasons because this is a horrible thing to have happen in our society. When you've got a lot of deserving kids deserving based on merit being denied admission to some of the top universities because. Rich people coming in and trying to buy access for their kids. So you know, that the guy who ran this operation, the main guy with this operation was a character by the name of singer singer. But what's really interesting is the person who was tasked with taking the tests or grading the tests or proctoring the tests for the kids so that they could get their ACT and SAT numbers up. He's a guy by the name of Mark Redel? All right. So singer is the guy who ran the operation Mark, rebel or right? L is the college entrance exam counselor. Who is the main focus of the cheating on the tests component or the tweaking of the tests. So, you know, the consultant is William Rick singer. He pled guilty Tuesday in federal court in Boston to helping students cheat on their standardized tests, but the brains behind the operation was this guy rebel thirty six years old. He was supposed to be in court today in Boston. And he was the one actually filling in the bubbles. For the progeny of the actresses, and the lawyers the businesses the children of privilege rebel is a kind of an interesting guy because he's smart, and he had a lot of opportunity, and he kind of comes from a decent background. And why this guy would decide he wants to start cheating mean other than the obvious getting paid is beyond me, but rebel right L, rebel. We'll just say rebel has been charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud as well as conspiracy to commit money laundering. He's been cooperating with the investigation since February. He's actually hoping to get some leniency when all this is put debt in a statement emailed Buyoya to the Washington Post rebel apologize says he's taken full responsibility for his actions. I wanna communicate to everyone. I'm profoundly sorry for the damage. I have done and the grief I have caused those. As a result of my needless actions. I understand how my actions contributed to a loss of trust in the college admission. Nhs process. Meanwhile, as you might imagine he has been suspended indefinitely. From his job as director of college entrance exam preparation. IMG g academy a private sports academy preparatory school in Bradenton Florida that he would be suspended from that job. While this stuff is going on. He's also an alumnus of the academy this academy that he was a part of had trained hundreds of Olympic and professional athletes tuition, by the way. Seventy seven thousand dollars a year. If you live there and go to school sixty one thousand dollars a year if you just go to the school as a day student. From there. Redel the guy who has taken the test went on to Harvard University where he dazzled as an NC two A division, one tennis player and by all accounts. He really was a tennis player. He really did play tennis for Harvard. It wasn't the scam in the flimflam. He was raised in Sarasota, Florida. He was named the tennis player of the year in one thousand nine hundred ninety nine by the Herald Tribune, his hometown newspapers father is a prominent real estate lawyer in the area with degrees from Michigan state and Wayne State university of in Detroit. A woman who answered the phone at the number listed for his parents threatened to call the cops and hung up when we asked her questions. This is the Washington Post. He began his job as IMG's exam. Prep director in oh six and lives in palmetto Florida, just outside Sarasota records show. He married a college classmate and helps direct the local Harvard club of Sarasota, he has been given or he has given modest sums to local candidates. But otherwise, he's. Remains remote from high profile debates and scandals by all accounts, lives, a quality a quiet life seemingly at odds with the brazen. Acts of fraud of which he now stands accused. What should be noted? According to the Washington Post is this man rebel had no inside access at the exam companies that the parents implicated in the scheme so badly wanted to beat what he had was a Harvard degree and a good set of test taking skills. Andrew Lang the US attorney for the district of Massachusetts offered this assessment of rebels utility quote. He was just a really smart guy. He did not have inside information about the correct answers. He was just smart enough to get a near perfect score on demand or even to calibrate to score. So it didn't draw too much attention. I just need fifteen points. Get me fifteen extra points. Get me twenty extra points. That's what he was able to do. According to the indictment singer flu rebel to Houston. In different locations in California where the self-described quote master coach had bribed test administrators for their cooperation and paid the Harvard. Grad ten thousand dollars for each student whose testy either corrected or completed entirely by himself. Let me just say parenthetically. It's ten thousand dollars is nice. Nice money. How many people got busted in this in this game? Do you remember? Was like fifty. So let's say he made ten thousand. Let's say he did fifty tests any ten thousand test five hundred thousand dollars. But is that are you gonna race your entire life over a half a million bucks? When you clearly he's got skills. Sometimes the students believe they were taking the tests for themselves other times rebel actively helped him on the exam in the fall of two thousand fifteen a thirties said he sat side by side with a student as she completed her SAT in Belmont, California, providing her with answers and later gloated about getting away with cheating that was the young girl. I told you about that was in the newspaper. Authorities said in the summer of twenty eighteen he completed the ACT in Houston hotel room for the son of Jane Buckingham. The chief executive of a boutique marketing firm in Houston. I believe her book. If you look it up Jane Buckingham is her book is entitled how to get out of sticky situations. Singer boasted that rebel was his best test taker according to the indictment he could quote nail a score. He's that good. That's that's who this. This guy is the US attorney leveling echoed the assessment when he addressed reporters on Tuesday explaining how singer would discuss with parents their child's target score which had to be good. But had to allude suspicion. See can't cope from like zero to a fourteen hundred you've got to kind of work your way up. He then would direct rebel attempt to hit that exact score that they were looking for his page on the IMG academy website was removed on Tuesday a cash. Eight version includes the boarding schools account of his duties and credentials. He was a coordinator and leader of the college entrance exam prep. So he's obviously steeped in entrance exams and the college exams, so he's probably taking these tests on the side for fun. Okay. That's a b squared. Okay. That's three. Okay. That's see. Okay. That's. There's only going to be like a universe of questions. I mean, probably some of them are very familiar, and if he's taking all these tests, he's probably just getting better and better taking the same darn task course over and over again. Imagine. If like, he's just will be interesting if he just had a massive change of heart starts to out these kids bloom. What do you mean only got three hundred? I'm never gonna get it. Now. I'm going to venture now rebels page. So it says that he was basically in the test. Yeah. I think I'm gonna taverna tank out all your tests. So is the coordinator and leader of the college entrance exam. Prep was responsible for the schools, test prep curriculum and recruited tutors to fill the growing need for additional one on one tutoring. Which allowed the students to have private learning opportunities and customize their educational experience. John I'm going to see if any of them want to come and hang with you. All right. Maybe put us we're delta school. "Anything can happen. Durant? Item wants to throw an injury possibilities. But anything could happen to the warriors. Whatever. But when enlarge party when you talk about a team in what they can accomplish, right? When you start seeing and there's three or four five variables for them that you have to lay out for them to achieve what the ultimate level of achievement is for that sport competent says it ain't gonna happen to me too many things that now what do we say about the warriors? Stay healthy. Yeah. That's what we say. Yeah. One variable. That's it. We don't need to morph into a different style. We don't stay healthy. What did we say about the Celtics? You know, really? Or you know, they got a lot of moving parts. Maybe not the best example. What do we say about the Celtics covenant to the season? Yeah. They just had a blend the new personality, right and roll out of the cage. But I just don't think, you know. I I don't take the rocket seriously. That's the bottom line that that's the best way for me to say. My most distinct way of saying it, I don't take the rocket seriously. I just don't by the way, the the sound bite. We heard from Kobe recently launched what read this ESPN gave us permission to to play the cuts. I want to do the right thing. He launched Mamba sports academy, which is a holistic multi sports writing facility. It's in LA for young athletes. You heard Rachel Nichols. She does a great job team was there as well. And she sat down with both legends. They talked about everything why why MBA players have a right to trade demands. And try to make those trade demands. And why Kobe's says t MAC was the hardest player yet defend a lot of good stuff. Their rates with does good work. And obviously when Kobe starts talking hoops, it's must-listen. So that was good. We appreciate them. Giving us the thumbs up on that. All right, one eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. I mean, you know, I I can't beat around the Bush anymore. I don't take the rocket. Seriously. Do you? I mean, do you. It's a very pointed. Very simple question. Do you? One eight five five two one two four two two seven get some calls on that. We also have to squeeze in some updates on the Lakers and the pelicans and some other variables tick tock Thursday is going to be fun. So two days from now exactly forty eight hours from now because it's just about forty eight hours forty seven hours in about forty five minutes. Whatever it is. We will know we're Anthony Davis. That's the expiration. That's one of the trade deadline kicks three stern. I don't think he's gonna be delta. The Lakers want to get into a little more coming up. "It would be silly irrespon- not to consult he's going to drive the process because that's not his job. Next, quote, I'm gonna use my platform the right way, I'm not going to embarrass anybody. Rest is manager Alice core about visiting the White House now that his teams accepted. The are. You surprised cores going to tint, I am a little bit surprised because this is not an opportunity for dialogue the White House. Visit is a photo. And the question anyone who has the opportunity to engage in that photo out must ask themselves is do I want this photo? Right. Because we have stories of Kim card dashing going to go into the Oval Office and working on prison reform. But really what is it amount to it amounts to a phone which person who says they don't want him normalize something is ultimately, normalizing something and for this man, Alex Cora, obviously, the background is Puerto Rico the background is hurricane Maria. And that's a complicated thing to have to suss out when you have their photo and your rhetoric. Yeah. I don't even know what's complicated about it. Right. Like if he goes because his job is saying that he has to go right on some level. He believes that he has a professional responsibility to turn up that. The reason for it. I'm not even sure that he's actually going to go. Who knows what magically might pop up in his schedule. The only thing I'll say to him is I'm gonna use my platform the right way. What does he think right is? And I ask that because some could argue that if you're vehemently opposes somebody showing up in the first place as using your platform the wrong way. Now, what you have people say when the guy's not going to the White House where you have your chance to talk to the president go up there and do that that were out of scores playing in. He showed up, and he gave a list of things that he wanted President George pervert Walker Bush to pay attention to he also showed up wearing that. And he never played another NBA the last Albie saw Craig Hodges on the court. He was in three point contest. We're in a jersey that said NBA on it because he did not play on team, but they had to buy them three point contest. Because the previous year's winner was automatically given the chance to come here. So I don't know what else has in mind, but nothing that can happen. There is a win for him. Yeah. Notably last year. Carlos correa. Carlos BELTRAN, Tom Brady, didn't go you can opt out of this thing. "Limited controversy brewing in Leander, Texas in regards to the board techs sports academy. It's a it's a business that provides. Well, you sports. Yes. Karate things like that. Leander? Are you familiar with this business? I have not I have not seen it. No, I have not. But I know it's been there for for quite a while. It's kind of a I think it's like a franchise there. Other board sports academies across the nation. I'm pretty sure of that's got you. But the story comes to us via cave, you AVI Ganor Friday night when the owner of the vortex sports academy and Leander told a parent who is transgender. He didn't want her to help teach her son's class. He gave her two reasons why and she didn't work there and have been trained in a while and two he didn't want her to tell the kids to call her, ma'am or miss. So there you go that has sparked a lot of controversy, this this this this individual was born a man, but identifies as a woman, and it looks like in transition to become a woman. Yes, that is obvious when you look at her she has a son that was taking a karate class who was helping with instruction, and the owner said, well, you're not trained to work here, which makes perfect sense. Right. You gotta go through background checks. If you want to be an instructor at our business where we're teaching kids, right? But then went on to say that the kids will recognize you as, sir. Not ma'am. I'm sorry. But if you look at the video there is no denying that. This is a man who is transitioning to be a woman or a believes he's a woman is a woman inside of his brain, whatever. But there's no denying first and foremost, this is a man, and it would be extremely confusing to kids that did not understand. What was going on the girl over there? Yeah. That boy associates themselves better with BMI girdle. This is the transgender parents who brought this story cave, you that's an easier conversation than explaining birds and bees conversation. It's put the vortex sports academy. Leander in the middle of a controversy. The academy's owner Scott magazine put a policy in place last year, if you're transgender you'll be referred to by your biological sex. Not how you identify people are angry people are outraged. People are hurt by because of that policy magazine told davina Coolum, she couldn't help teachers son's class because it would confuse the students attacks between it to spread on social media took off people were sending it forwarding it to other people returing it then started tweeting. And I was like, wow, next Suge says what came after was something. He never expected we throughout the day had hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of one-star reviews. Comments on our Facebook page that were vulgar there were death threats that we had.

The university of Texas fraternities are considering a ban on hard alcohol at all social events and something that has already been done. Texas State university a few other universities. They're trying to get a grip on hard alcohol on campus as a pin bench. Drinking is a real issue. Kids die across this country that first year in college when they know for the first time they're away from home and get a chance to taste booze. And sometimes things get a little out of hand. What? Now, what is the difference? Why just hard alcohol why not go after all of it? I mean hard alcohol hard, call could be hidden in the fruit punch and sorority girls. Don't know they're drinking is that the issue. Yes. Okay. Safety can be safety. Okay. In other words, generally people aren't gonna pour wine into the punch. They're not gonna pour beer in the pod show there. There's a risk there that it can be kind of a disguised and rice sneaks up on people spike issue that and it's it goes down, easy and kids can get get themselves in a lot of trouble because I will tell you for me, my bigger buzz comes from beer, not vodka. I can have two beers much more buzz than to to knock Taylor squat to pee to a little bit. Chad is in north Austin on the Totta, Don show. Good morning, Chad. Hey, good morning guys. I heard that was going to have surgery tomorrow. Yes. Tomorrow morning shoulder. Thank you for carrying on his left. I do care, but I did want to give you a little bit of advice. Please visit a warning and under buys the warning is I read an article the other day about how famous people and Don you are famous around the area. Would they go under the knife? There's usually a lotta pictures taken by. Staff. Sometimes even look under the covers. And so you might wanna I don't wanna make you nervous. But now if you walk in there, and you tell them who you are and ask for a confidentiality for they will allow you to build that out. There will be no fall in that operating grant, you should probably do that. Maybe today's political climate. You should do. No. Actually, I'm hoping for this actually. I mean, there's nothing to worry about this chance. Right. This only happens to famous. The undercovers part again. I was really my gut feeling is you're really not going under salt shoulder surgery. But maybe something at the low T center, Dr. Yeah. Yeah. Thank you. Thank you for your concern. Sounds like he's really concise. I can I can sense it. Controversy is brewing. A new policy for one Leander business cave. You has the story this all began Friday night when the owner of the vortex sports academy Leander told the parent who is transgender. He didn't want her to help teach her son's class. He gave her two reasons why she didn't work there and have been trained in a while and two he didn't want her to tell the kids to call her man or miss. So there you go that's sparked a lot of controversy this morning on social media. This is has gone viral. It's pretty interesting this controversy began Friday night after davina Callum shared a text message between her and Scott Magoo's guy. He's the owner of vortex sports academy there in Lia the teach karate, and I think about a few other your youth kind of thing. Yeah. Here's the story. The girl over there. Yeah. That boy associates themselves better with being the girdle. That's an easier conversation, then explaining birds and bees conversation. It's put the vortex sports academy. Leander in the middle of controversy. The academy's owner, Scott MAC Zuege put a policy in place last year. If you're transgender you'll be referred to you by your biological sex. Not how you identify people are angry people are outraged. People are hurt by it. Because of that policy magazine told the Vena Coolum, she couldn't help teachers son's class because it would confuse the students attacks between it to spread on social media took off people were sending it forwarding it to other people returing it then started tweeting. And I was like, wow. Yeah. So there you go. That's the father there who wants to be identified as as a woman, the biological father of the student in the class is been told you you can't help teaching the class here. And so the controversy is building in this case. You've seen the video. And a lot of people have seen cave us version of this story. I'm sure it's on their Facebook page. It's definitely on their website. You can check it out your initial thoughts. This is this is a tough one. But it's also very obvious to me at the same time. You've got a situation here where the kids would be exposed to something that is going to confuse them. Big time. Listen, it confuses me. This is a person who identify a man who identifies as a woman in when you let me just be blunt here when you look at this person. It. It's it's it it.
