"Right now. I mean we talked about Hashtag diversion factor. And Rory mcilroy and the odds that were left on the screen here by Cory Cove power trip morning, show wildly successful, highly touted, and something called the Charles Schwab which begins today and might even be underway now. Yeah it with with Jordan speed. Dallas native like you said in this is tournaments down in Fort Worth you can get forty five one on him on the seven two, or wherever, but when I'm looking like I'm I'm calling races a Canterbury later here, we are errands inbetween. It's not like on a Thursday a if it's a Thursday at Augusta and life was normal I'm not gonna lay there and like watch the whole thing that day, so I'm going to do it for the Charles, Schwab right, but like I. I said for the Moon Base. Is that was called? The Moon Base the Moon Bay at the Moon Base for U M L. West July for the quiet storm, or the Charles Schwab for Kevin Gorgan. Who Genuinely Love Golf, and they love that they love the possibility of what's in front of them, and they have something they can look forward to Oh yeah, and account. It's a win. It's a win a loss and like points and money and prize money stuff like that. So that that intrigues me and I I is it on TV I don't know if it might not even be televised in. My I mean maybe Golf Network I, Dunno I mean only half the field underway right now, but see all I looked at where snot nosed. Kids ought so I didn't like. Read the thing being like this this this. This back! There's rory best in the world allegedly Jordan. Speak for worth no tiger. Stopped there, because then, maybe it's like and due to social distancing CDC, protocol ABCD and E. Tell your cameras, and and and and photo journalists, and all the media not able to be on the course so thus it will not be televised. Yeah, yeah, so this magna televised now. It's four to seven PM this afternoon. That might be eastern time on golf channel. Okay Gotcha televise then into the weekend. You're going to have live coverage okay on CBS trip and man. Now also as sport and returns and. Distraction factor would go nine to noon the ll NBA. Yeah we? We have rhapsodised and celebrated Commissioner Adam Silver. For coming out and. Saying July thirty first. Orlando X amount of teams. Here's how it's. GonNa work. You know there's a tentative to it for sure. Yes, but this is the first commissioner before mls or whatever to come out and be like my sports coming got everything bedded out. We're coming back July thirty first, and and maybe it'll eventually be Lebron versus Kawai in the Western Conference final finals, and then somebody plays Janas after that right. Okay so now. With that bread crumb which I thought honestly was not a breadcrumbs. It had become a chicken potpie. Gone that far yeah. I guess that's not the case right. I mean an NBA July thirty first What's the Rod? No, it's so. It's still going to happen. They what they do have questions that they want to answer. And here's the most recent bit away. Just set is still going to happen. Yes, okay, yes, but but the key to it though and the the new wrinkle. In this bread crumb is that the NBA National Basketball Yeah. The the players association are agreeing on a plan that would allow players to stay home without consequence. Short of average. So. Here's what it says. Forty to fifty players on and off the conference call over the last day, discussing a number of concerns centered on that restart in Orlando that everyone's so pumped about and the basically there's been no formal petitioning for many group wanting out of the twenty two team resumption. That's a key factor. However, there may be players as part of this increase dialogue about the prudence of restarting the season for a number of players especially. Especially those on non championship contenders, so maybe there are players that are like come up right We're six games out. Yes, we have a chance we'd have to win all eight and all this other stuff would have to happen not in shape been on beaches in Cancun with Zeke. It's interesting they didn't include that. As a number of their concerns the nine to noon, purge diet was not included right in this but executive coaches. Around the League have considered significant concern about how they will adapt to the environment. Other things you know the the inability to leave the Disney resort campus, the virus itself implications, surrounding the emergence of social justice causes that have really captivated our entire country in the planet. These these are all very fair points. Don't you agree And then there are players with potential medical issues? Yeah, and so are they high risk categories trying to figure that out so the the idea? I think ultimately. The plan the wrinkle in the mix is that there will be players that say, either I'm not healthy enough for actual medical reasons to the virus. In those things, there's probably going to be a few players that are like man. I'm thirty eight nine ran around Jim in four months. You think I WANNA go to twist up my knee. Doing this garbage down in Orlando with asterisks. Screw all that. I make fifteen million dollars a year Dalvin. Dalvin could have some of my cash. Yeah, if he wants to so I think those are. The things are trying to figure out as of now these players if they chose just to stay home, they're not going to get paid, but they can be replaced and there's no penalty to them outside of the lack of a paycheck as part of their decision Minnesota Vikings. General Manager Rick Spielman joins nine to noon around the the fan..

"Off the field, and that's where the tough part because comes in because Levian Bell, a contract with the jets that I think he's better than than Levian. But I also think that Levian was overpaid by the jets and same thing with David Johnson. Is a better player than David. Johnson but I. Think David Johnson was overpaid by the cardinals as well so i. don't think those are really true comps. He's. He's really kind of an no-man's-land and I think that's the tough part negotiation well, not Nacho enclosing for me the nor does something if you I in totality if you are George Payden rigs films. Right hand man, and I'm rick or vice versa, and we're having this conversation. It is fair to say okay. After four games in two thousand seventeen, we found a way to win the division without Dalvin Latavius Murray's Jerick McKinnon and twenty nineteen with all those yards from scrimmage. He hadn't all those touchdowns and his fantastic. Fantastic effort in the New Orleans playoff game and he was playing hurt. That's part of a two. Then you get to twenty eighteen. This is something on which we nor to. And I touched the last couple of days, but never really got to the minutia that twenty eighteen, and and analyzing that with Dalvin when you have a first year, offense coordinator, whose whose disobedience with the Ron became so bad that he got fired before he could complete his first year. and and Dalvin is the one plane into that run. nordahl found this. Yeah, that that was the key for me is I. Don't really think it's part of the dilemma, but it's difficult to compare even Dalvin with Zeke and. The money thing. I don't want him to get fifty million guaranteed and ninety five million, because we just can't afford it, but you know you look at twenty eighteen as he still nursing his way back to health and had hamstring issues post ACL I look at the non obvious from the aspect of the offense itself Kirk. Cousins takes four hundred seventy three tempts from the shotgun. Shotgun, and twenty, eighteen, just one, thirty, three under center in two, thousand, nineteen, it was two, twenty, four and two twenty like the entire frame of the offense change, and so how Dalvin operated within the offense in two thousand eighteen is completely different, and then we see Kubiak. Come in. He wants to run the percentage of play. Action goes up. The bootlegs go up running backs. Backs in total with with CJ, Hamernicks, seventy seven receptions in two thousand eighteen, they had ninety eight last season. So and that's kind of an extension of the run game in the scheme as well so you know I, think ultimately you can only judge Dalvin Cook, I mean you you note the injuries, but you can only judge what he did in twenty nineteen. You know the. The same way that you would judge. Zeke Elliot and the same scheme with Jason Garrett during his first few seasons and all that I think you only have one year to work off of yeah, in terms of what number thirty three can actually do with this team and you're paying off that year, and you're paying off a year and those are all valid points which. Puts me in this in the if I if if you have to like look at both sides and like okay, who's got the leverage? The Vikings have the leverage here. That Dow I don't see dolphins passage a little dobbins representation, if you even if you just of what nor saying you have one true year to go off of. That's it and you're gonNA. Ask for, and that's the I. Don't know what he's asking for. You know we're there's there's all sorts of speculate you start with McCaffrey. And you go all the way down to facing and I, but I bet you're in the mix like we. Seattle face. For like a year, yeah, like our our thing the last couple of days. Maybe you've heard it, we. We've used the the spectrum of being Austin exer- At sure like four years twenty four and a half ten twelve guaranteed whatever it was Jane that that's on one end of the spectrum, and then McCaffrey would be on the other, and if you can bridge those two into some sort of middle ground, that kind of feels realistic I. Don't know how you see it. Yeah I think he's better than actor and that's why I think it's. It's really tough because there's not. You know it's. It's completely different running styles, but he's more like Derrick Henry than he is anybody else that that we've mentioned and Henry. We all know on a franchise tag right now, and and he's waiting for to see what Delvin does. You know he's He. He wants to see what Alvin does. I think his agent can say like. production-wise and the. How much you mean to this team, and how we build this team that we've built this offense. We've got this pseudo game. Managing quarterback that needs your presence to be effective There's tremendous value in that so I think Henry's representations like. Daven. Get your deal done, and hopefully it's good enough. I can get paid to and so I think. If, if Derrick Henry was a position to get his deal done right now I'd say like Bam just basically match whatever he got. Is that's that's the same.

"One came in from billy worry by got all his albums Paul. Just, making sure you know that the John C. Calhoun, the Clemson School with the with the the the symbol and everything that we were chatting about with Ben, Labor is the same John C. Calhoun, where the the lake in Minneap Lake Calhoun is named after No, I did not know that and I and I don't WanNa come. After you spend three minutes saying. How can that be there? In the first place I didn't know it existed good for to Shawn Watson and De'andre Hopkins. How is the CALHOUN symbol statue plaque? Whatever on campus? How has it even like lasted there? And and I'm not surprised if it's going to be removed, which I believe, it is while then, and then now you now you get to like a lake with the same name I. Just I'm perplexed. The well the calls nobody was mad. Per Se, but two of the calls actually were in relation to that. Yeah, the fact that after and I did not know after the civil war. There were many streets and schools and land marks and many things that were actually named. After southern leaders, and so in some ways preserving area that had been ravaged in an area that had been changed so That's a real thing which is why Lake Calhoun. The the official name of it was changed several years ago. It wasn't like bitty sky on a Marcus Cottam okkas Colorado. Sky in front and so that's that's a real thing. One of the Grad programs actually at Clemson not one hundred years ago, but like the eighties was named after Calhoun. Okay so I. Mean there's a needs a name, James, then right so there are some things that people need to reevaluate the name change very much, so and now that doesn't you know I I not interested in the in the vandalism aspect of it, but I'm very much open to whether it's monuments or landmark, and those sorts of. Of things being adjusted potentially so that there's no longer the the highlighting or the celebration of those individuals can't let Nacho Libre leave without getting the official Ben Lieber opinion on the Dalvin dilemma with Dalvin Cook in the news the other day. That dumb that he is not going to take part in anything. The Vikings are doing right now until he gets a new deal, he's into the final year of his deal, making a million and change the Dalvin Dilemma Stream your consciousness. What do you think? I I look at this and it's GonNa. Be a tough situation. I think it goes without saying that in everybody feels this way that. Given a fair deal for both sides. He's absolutely an important piece of what this team is built around. Bear deal for both sides is key here. Right Fair deals is is key I mean I i. don't think that he's I've heard rumors that he you know. He wants McCaffrey money at least a per year basis. That ain't GonNa Happen, I. I don't know a lot of teams that would do that I, you know. The the Cap Situations GonNa play a part of it. I don't think that he's going to be shooting for the moon. Here I think he just wants his I. think he wants a fair compensation. He wants to make probably in the neighborhood of close to eleven million a year, and and I think that's fair. As long as we can pull it off as a team, and not and not sacrifice other bits and pieces team in the short term or the long term, so they eleven million a year on Bass, not including guarantees inside onto sound like I'm just. Saying like. Average Simple math. Twenty two, twenty, three to twenty, four, guaranteed over one or two years, so like McCaffrey is at a thirty two thirty eight. Okay now that's what he got. Good for Christian McCaffrey, in the panthers salary cap, situation's a little different than ours here and McCaffrey also is the best overall running back in the NFL and all due respect I. don't believe galvanise, but I don't think Galvin is so far behind. Christian that we should like. GO DOWN TO SEATTLE FACE in money so somewhere in between. I think I think that guarantee I think that guarantee is is low twenties to mid twenties, maybe and then the yearly piece to get close to what you said. Yes, sure I mean. That's why like this structure can be manipulated in his sort of way and obviously guaranteed. Money's me a part of it. You know McCaffrey you mentioned the thirty million. Zeke got fifty million guaranteed I, mean obviously you? Zeke's. Contract is gigantic. But I would say when you just do the simple math, the number of years by the total value of the contract. I'm putting around eleven million dollars a year I. think that's I think that's fair for what for what he does for team, and how the team is built around him now he has to look at himself to realize that the durability issues aren't made up. It's a very real thing. you know he's? He's not as durables McCaffrey. He's not used as McCaffrey I me hit the craziest part about it is. McCaffrey should not even be part of the conversation like that. He's not even a running back that his agents should be using as any sort of benchmark or leverage. McCaffrey played. Ninety three percent of their offensive snaps last year. He's he's. He's I think on average. The last two years is in the low nineties for offense of snaps meaning that. A durable and be even when he's not getting the ball targeted through receiving or rushing, he's on the field and some capacity. He's a threat. Yeah, every time he's on the field. That's not Dalvin Domino's in the neighborhood of like fifty nine percent right so. Just when you just look at that, yes, not even the name of the same ballpark and and Zeke Elliott's is a little bit of the same way he was at. He was involved in eighty. Two percents of the snaps for his team to. Daven again fifty nine percent Yup and referred to have dolphin over Zeke because of the catch and run, and I'm not I'm not road on Zeke's pass protection that is a very underrated basset of Alvin Gawk and Kudos to Mike Patton the defensive coordinator for the Green Bay packers because in the penultimate on Monday night football. You Got Cook and you got no Madison. So you think okay patents going to do it this way. The non obvious thing that he did was he put Mike Boone in a position to know every single pass protection blitz pickup. You possibly can. No and I don't believe in a week. You'RE GONNA know it and he didn't and. And then that got Kinda. Got Mike off on like how he's running it now because he's trying to arden, stopping at Kudos, patent I mean the way with with the Smith, the area and Preston and the a gap, and the the non obvious places from which they came, and they kind of exposed to situation that was exposal, and you know but Dalvin. If Alvin in there that doesn't happen, because just he just plays it more, and he watches more in each. He's just batteries, just better overall so the one the one rebuttal of have about Zeke I I don't think Dalvin can really compare his contract and his style Zeke as well. I think Zeke got. That's that's really rich contract. Right, give to running back guaranteed, right? You've got fifty guarantee zero. Yeah! Guaranteed yeah, because ninety million dollar contract. You get fifty guaranteed. Yeah, and so that's unbelievable, but then you look at you. Bring up the receiving heat the last two years and not in a Greenwich. There's missed games in there for Dobbin which goes into the equation comes as pure stats. Zeke has more receiving yards. He has more receiving touchdowns. Yep, so it's like I. I understand that Dalvin. We've we if you look at it from the the the close. Viking centric approach. We WanNA think the Dolphin has all world this world that really good player. Yeah, obviously but. Zeke is actually more valuable that team on a stats basis, and gives you a little bit more McCaffrey's amp, completely different player, where he's a receiver in a running back, and he never comes.

"Spielman he was on with Dave Lee this morning and talked about what a unique situation this was this year where I mean you you had the Vikings first while picking they had all these picks more than any other team more than any other time in franchise history and all by the way he didn't have you didn't have all this time to do that all the background work because you couldn't meet with the players or at least most of them in person here's what he told Dave Lee I think the biggest challenge is whether we had all the background we're able to get most of our psychologic logical intelligence testing done because we had to come by and we were at the all star game we did a lot of interviews through the all star games and at the combine so we you know interviewed over three hundred fifty guys this year that's Rick Spielman I'm a day late this morning I think you'll I think sometimes you can overthink things think about it if you meet somebody in person you don't know how long you've seen maybe you've heard but you meet him in person and even if they're just polite to you and I like that person you know as opposed to somebody you don't me like I I like that person so I think sometimes teams can over think this thing like I look at this he's got a really good football player his measurables were were okay and and and we met him and you know what he was just cut he didn't say a whole lot so I don't know if you overthink these things what does that mean but I think our personalities can either sell us or or hurt us in in think about your own life it's your own job they're perfect people that you just you just like if you take a step back to I really know them do I know a lot about them ten intended not you know me just that specific space but we can kind of end up selling ourselves on different people because of the interaction that interactions that we have so we were just more outgoing some people both in the room some people are extroverts others are introverts don't mean you're not gonna be great players or or efficient at their jobs and I think I think you see the Vikings and the Viking strategically I think the Vikings typically do a good job in the draft although I mean the stats bear it out like it's it's a crapshoot it's a crapshoot you never really know if it's going to work out like who could have seen Danielle hunter a new super athletic but didn't didn't didn't produce a lot in college but you know what you surround him with with a guy like Andre Patterson on the defensive line and all the sudden he's he's a super duper star thanks to the coaching and thanks to the absolute commitment to his craft and his athletic ability and so that's that's a part of the reason what they're doing on that those day three picks do is like Hey this could this person project I do get your tickets sometimes and I'm like got this player was great in college just become so I get irritated watching the unit NFL draft sometimes in actually right now it have you noticed are you more irritated by everything right now I saw this headline why are we so irritated by everything psychologist wrote this I mean look we're stressed or anxious were built up in our homes or apartments it might seem odd that anxiety makes is so grumpy but there's a reason that flight is part of the fight flight freeze reaction so it's again it's a psychologist I read this this morning from eight neuro psychological standpoint it's generally accepted that when people reflexively react to a perceived stressor in a way that's out of proportion to any direct physical threat the brains primitive sub cortical and limbic regions are doing the heavy lifting of processing that stressor without much help from the more evolutionary sophisticated prefrontal cortex so there is there's data in there's reasoning behind all this stuff but I do think that we talk about stress and anxiety I think a lot of us are feeling it now understanding who we are our strengths and our weaknesses can help us with that how we'll talk about it an expert next at.

C. Johnson who falls into that category of young cheap option but that's what they need to do and there are plenty of receivers in this draft and even though guys like Troy Williamson that's three Rick Spielman but not by much and ultimately Percy Harvin although they flipped him for a better call than they should have gotten and the guy from Mississippi look one Treadwell the first round from a few years ago I mean the first rounders haven't worked but Diggs was a fifth rounder feeling was undrafted B. C. Johnson undrafted they know how to find receivers and what a good one this year all right we're integra will return the other receiver trade that made people think the Texans got fleeced and the digs trade last night underscored that de Andre Hopkins to the cardinals will break it down on PFT live continues right after this back be your nose hubs so congested use the Vic side X. "We are back. We've talked a lot about the draft. My first text message today was very positive people really liking what the Vikings did in the draft on Thursday Friday and Saturday joining us right now the guru puts it all together with a lot of help with the Minnesota Viking since good morning Spielman. Shine allow three to. Yeah. We actually we're inheritance morning finalizing a lot of that. And finalize all of our tryout guys that are coming in. I think we have about forty five guys coming in for next weekend's rookie minicamp. So last night, we got a chance to catch her breath a little bit after side in the product. And then today in last night we're actually finalizing in the rest of the roster for the Mets. Yep. So it's been a it's been a long process. But I gotta say with our colleagues director Kamal, Stevenson and all our scouts, and and coaches in time and effort energy, they put into this saying, it's it's an incredible amount of work done. But how well everybody works together. I think that's truly what gives us an advantage. Good is carry Finocchio home else about him. Yeah. Drew is a very physical player upfront. He sits from all the athletes traits. We look for from the standpoint of being able to execute in this scheme few technical flaws at him and just like all the rookies have to clean up on. I know our coaches spend a lot of time with all these guys in things that they do on tape or that they've done in salt, the workout or combine did they think it's correctable they get working on that. But the one thing that was truly tells you what type of football player, and how much respect he had on that Oklahoma football team that had a lot of great players as we asked all the kids going through the interviews if you only had to bring one person with you to win a Super Bowl was another team. Which one would you bring it every single one of them? Oklahoma kids said they would bring this kid to wherever they went with them. So. Tells you how much he respect he had from his teammates. He he. So people didn't think it would be easier. And you got him. I make you know strange. Yeah, we had a lot of lot of back picks. And I always have used a philosophy of the more chances. You get to swing it players better on this hit on a couple. If you're only having one or two, you know round draft picks that you got a lot better odds, if you have as many as we have to they hit on a couple of those guys so more chances you get up to bring players in here. The better odds you are of hitting on some of those guys. So I don't get not between to see a lot of those guys especially the later rounds. I try I learn about him, and what they're saying that the meetings that everything, but I have such a great staff, and I know the time and effort that those scouts put in on the road, and they come in and have very strong opinions that very good sale on some of these guys that I I talked to them in the coaches. Especially in the later rounds. And somebody's called trae that we sign that that in their opinion on east guys Ricky Qassim said the war room because about ten o'clock on Friday. Today. I kept trying to sit kept putting his hand up. One more one more. But but I've Friday night every time I looked up to try to rewrite my script for the news. You guys have made another trade to trade down central back in. What is that? Like, I mean, you got all these guys go off the border. They're like automatic trades where you go. He's off the board. So therefore, we now have a deal done with how fast can you get these done? How does that work out? They're done with probably within two or three minutes. Usually when you're on the clock. And now we had when I see that we have five or six Athens. They'll up their players that we would take any one of those players, and I understand that we may lose one or two, but we still have more options. That's that's why we we traded down. You know, I think we made a trade down and then made another trade debt to more six round pick some Baltimore right behind us. So and I knew you know, that we had a pretty good chance. Still landing now, the the rudder from Boise state, Madison. Potential second round our second team guy for you guys. Yeah. We're very excited about him. He's a big back. Great character, kid, very durable. We wanted to get a bigger back to create that one two punch. We had with cooking. And and latavius and was still the skit map virginity to come in here and potentially filled that role. Rick a two part question. First of all how many hours or days in advance. Did you decide to draft a cameras Smith so sick at practice that introduction, which which he pulled off so well, and then the second part of the question, and we're going to have guns a guest and eleven o'clock hour, could you just say something about the role? It's not well played in your organization one. Yeah. Say the name of the aren't tackle it. Hoping that was going to be to sit. But I can't tell you how much that well only means to this to the scouting staff and every entire organization and how we love he is. I don't know if they'll ever be another Scott stuck well to comes through the Minnesota Vikings have had such a major impact not only what he was is a player, but what he did working here in the front office. And that is something that is very unique to be at one organization for as long as he has put pretty much is entire life into this organization, and he will still hopefully, I wanna talk them into carbon out some kind of role. 'cause I know he's board at the time. The pieces back he'll always be part of his family and always be a part of us. You live close enough to you can rake leaves and whatnot over at your place. Why asked them they said, you know, if you went to my. Pave you might as well. Yard within. But that's my favorite thing to do in. Our love doing yard work. It's kinda like a mental exercise in relaxation. So I gotta yard about maybe ten yards by ten yards. And it takes me three hours to do that yard. You need some help on Tuesday. You're going to be with us to come out there and help you with this film. You're gonna break down. Yeah. No. You get a chance to get inside look at how we operate in. How some of the decisions are made. And and so hopefully that will give you guys a little bit of an insight on how this actually works. Pleasure. Have any year and for being here? Okay. Sure. A marriage certificate. Thank you very much. Why why does it match he ever get anything? Lyon stamp. Is that what you're getting? Stunned while K that's not far from your house. Hey played staff. "On Sunday right now. It's forty four. W c talk and sports. Aired Nelson are WC show staff was that the Viking headquarters during the draft last night. Eric your thoughts on the the first pick first of all folks may not know who it is. Yeah. Yeah. Garrett bradberry. We were all rushing to Google after that selection. Dave and. Rick Spielman and Mike Zimmer I was in the room when they addressed the media, they were very happy. This guy was still around. They said they began targeting him last fall Spielman scattered even person at a Wake Forest North Carolina State game. What they like is he checks a lot of boxes he he's physical. He's a moped dimensional player. He can play guard or center started as a tight end at North Carolina State. And also, he's durable. He played almost every snap last season. As a senior didn't come off the field much as a junior or a sophomore as you know. Dave that Viking oh line has been banged up. The last two years they need guys. That are stay on the field. You know, I found it. Interesting Eric, I don't know if Rick Spielman and Mike Zimmer on the same page 'cause Rexine really excited. Jeff diamond on our coverage last night, as you know, seemed really fired up as a former GM. But Zimmer says, I don't know. I'm glad the quarterbacks went there was a couple of defensive guys. But you look there hasn't been a corner taken yet typically there's five or six of them taking I was trying to get one. But. Well, you and I both know Mike or Dave Mike Zimmer you'll he he's he's a defensive guy meet loves loading up on that side of the football. But I think it was the elephant in the room the Minnesota Vikings offensive line last season got overpowered, especially in those games against Chicago. Kirk cousins is not a guy who can move around. He's not mobile. He can't extend place. So you have to keep him up. Right. You have to give him time to survey. And if the Vikings ignored that need, I think it would have been a major mistake. Remember, you still have a lot of other picks left in the strap you can feel in other needs. I believe they still need to get at least one more offense lineman. Yeah. I totally agree with you on that the and the other part of it is as talking to max you about this. Mike us is still kind of a number one. Pick your good actually have to number one picks in Sasebo season got short right away last year. Yeah. For sure it if you remember his very first gaming at San Francisco he had to pick six against Jimmy Garoppolo. And he started with a Bank at a central Florida. And then he blew up the knee. So there's that's a good point that they're going to get my keys back and that should be a bonus. As far as you know, back cornerback that Mike Zimmer covets and all that good stuff. I think the fact is they addressed a need this kid bradberry. Somebody they say they really want it, and let's be blunt here. This is about Mike Zimmer and Rick Spielman trying to get this team back into the playoffs. If they have another year where they missed the postseason. You don't know who's going to be making the draft decisions next April. So I think they have to do what's right? And they also have new ofensive voices in the room. You got Kevin gives the offense coordinator, and Gary kubiak people have downplayed kubiak if in that war room, and and with this organization, but Davey won a Super Bowl with Denver is. Head coach was a quarterback in the league for a long time. Outstanding offense coordinator he comes from the offensive side of the ball. Maybe what the Vikings really of needed all along. It's a little balance in the way, they approach things on draft night. Yeah. It'll be interesting while Eric I I'm sure there's no really way to predict what they'll do today. Is there tonight rather not really I mean, the question came up, and it's it's almost futile because you don't know what the other guys ahead of you are going to do when they start selecting? I think if there's another stud offensive line guy on the board. They may take him. There's a kid out of Florida that you know, a lot of people thought they were going to take with that eighteenth tic last night Taylor. But each still sitting there a big, you know, monstrous left tackle, obviously, you know, Mike Zimmer would probably love to grab a defensive guy running backs don't seem to go as high as they used to and yesterday unless your name is saquon Barkley, so. Maybe they need to get somebody to back up Delvin cook. Let's not forget what Davis Murray is dawn he's in New Orleans. But there are a little thin at the running back position. And I still believe even in twenty nineteen Dave you need to run. The football is still need to be able to ground and pound if you're going to win in the national football. You can't always go to the to the air and try to win games just bypassing yesterday. We had a Facebook question. Best draft pick the Vikings ever. Had. It seemed like Randy moss was kind of the winner. What are your thoughts on that? Well, for me, it's an over energy Chuck foreman. He came in in nineteen Seventy-three. And after he arrived. They went to three Super Bowls in four or five years and Fran Tarkenton's never wanna play off game as a quarterback. And then when Chuck foreman arrived his game got a lot better with the Dunkin Dr Chuck, and I think he complimented the offense. Very well. Randy moss, certainly was explosive. I remember when he came in Dave these acrobatic catches, electrifying speed. But Randy moss. Never got the Vikings into the Super Bowl. I I still say. Chuck foreman. His impact was instant for the Minnesota Vikings. I like it and I like also maxi's pick of Adrian Peterson. Well, no doubt about it. I mean, AP certainly the greatest pure running back in Minnesota Vikings history. You could go with any of those three guys and not be wrong in your answer. I tend to base it on what are the results and doing not saying Chuck foreman was the only reason the Minnesota Vikings went to those three Super Bowls. But they they had their defense in place. They were lacking a serious threat as a running back who could also come out of the backfield and catch the football. So I look at hey, they went to super bowl's on his watch. I think we live in a fantasy football Asia. Now, David thanks get skewed. And and we we look at things differently. I'm all about winning and they were able to get the Super Bowl. And that's what you're trying to do here in twenty nineteen. And this franchise has had so many great players, but they don't have the trophy. They don't have the Lombardi, and that's still what they're chasing. So that's what you're measured against in. My opinion have a great weekend. Eric good coverage is always Eric follows the NFL does a lot of reporting NFL at all the games throughout the course of the year. He is Eric Nelson here on WCTC. Oh, eight forty six right now on a day when the twins play Baltimore back home tonight. Mike says weather should be good for the game this evening. The theme night tonight is LA Tortuga, which of course, is an honor Voss to deal at that theme night is sold out. But there are tickets certainly left for the game tonight. Michael give you a weather forecast for.

Bone Building Needs Bit of Breakdown First
"This is science Americans sixty seconds science. I'm Karen Hopkin. Exercise builds muscle, but it also strengthens bones. Exactly how exercise boosts bone strength is a matter of debate and a subject of scientific scrutiny. Now, a new study in mice shows how a hormone secreted by active muscle cells triggers, bone remodeling, physical activity stimulates the release of multiple molecules from skeletal muscle take Iran, for example, this hormone named after the Greek messenger. Goddess iris is produced by running rodents and by us humans when we do high intensity Arabic training once it's generated iris and improves bone density and strength to find out how Bruce Spiegelman and his colleagues at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School took cultured bone cells and located the receptor to which Iran binds, this receptor protein is particularly abundant on cells called osteo sites. These cells of the master regulator of. Bone remodeling and the most abundant cell type in bone. What we found interesting in. This paper is the magnitude of the effects, we get in terms of iris and acting to stimulate osteo sites and preventing their death in culture. Also their ability to make a key protein sclera Sten under the stimulation of iris scores. Ten is a protein that actually stimulates the breakdown of bone that Iran, which builds bone would promote the production of sclera Ston which destroys it may seem counterintuitive but Spielman says that this bit of bone breakdown that signals the body to engage in some skeletal renovation the results appear in the journal cell boning up on the actions of Irishman could help us work out. How we can derive the most from our workouts and possibly keep our bones dense enough to keep us dancing in our dotage. And the new work identifying the receptor. Also allows us to really a much more easily identify. What are other target cell types for IRA Sinn with particular reference to neural cell types, where there is suggestive evidence by us and others that iris in may play a neuro protective effect in disorders, such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and a LS? Thanks for listening for scientific Americans, sixty seconds science. I'm Karen Hopkin.

Muhammad Wilkerson, Green Bay Packers reach agreement on deal
"Yeah the bears are getting better they're doing all this work and they still got no chance of competing with the packers and the vikings now right i would think though and matthew stafford's not going anywhere in detroit forgot about the lions i'm fascinated by the packers because this is a brand new era for how long green bay never spend money in free agency with ted thompson now they would dabble every so often julius peppers as one veteran that they did sign a more high profile guy but now you're talking about jimmy graham robbed a mosque you covers the packers for us just reports them muhammad wilkerson is gonna sign with green in bay my opinion is they're feeling the pressure now because aaron rodgers is too great to walk away from this game with only one super bowl title so i think that plays into there is more pressure letting jordy nelson go probably because he doesn't run very well anymore but there's a new gm and a new philosophy in green bay and kirk cousins people debate that contract look the vikings are giving him a fully guaranteed deal because they think they can win the super bowl right now not next year the year after that signing kirk cousins is about winning a championship in two thousand eighteen so jeff who's under more pressure at this point the packers to maximize whatever the opportunity is for aaron rodgers or kirk cousins maximize whatever the opportunity is for the vicario jason i i would say it's vikings management rick spielman is actually under more pressure than kirk cousins because cousins has got his money he played the system per.

"Some some front office people about why that this hasn't happened why hasn't anyone kind of cut through an and explore the inefficiency that there is in a lot of guaranteed money to go round and essentially what i heard from both the agents side and the team side was nobody wanted to be the team that changed the game for everybody else but i just think that in 2018 it's gone so cutthroat it's gotten so much more forward thinking i mean i know how rosen doesn't have that sorta space but how euros minutes forward thing to say okay i'm the kind of guy who was going to take a leap is rick spielman i kinda guy i don't know i haven't seen any evidence that he's gonna you know he's ready to change the face of football but that kind of contract would change the face of football and that's why thing's really fascinating to me so here the things to take into account when it comes to cousins and the viking specifically and i think that this example does speak to the larger issue at hand so if they do give him that if it's thirty million dollars a year fully guaranteed and less just in this hypothetical scenario say the case of his worth eighteen in a with a he had some around the blake boral's threeyear sixty contract what you're saying then as the vikings is that we're gonna spend twelve million more dollars on our quarterback in is that worth it when you consider what they may have to address at other spots on their team so the vikings right now have about seventy five million dollars in capspace give or take for two thousand nineteen the players going into the last year of their contract for the vikings right now include anthony bar then you'll hunter and stefan dix.
