"River, technology decisions aren't black and white. Think red. To Thomas Robertson All right, sandy, lots of excitement at FedEx field today. It's the first game under the new commander's moniker they're taking on the Panthers in their pre season opener, not a great start for this new look team, though, right now end of the third quarter Carolina had 20 to 6, it was a good start for Brian Robinson though, The Rookie running back out of Alabama coming into the game after an Antonio Gibson fumble, Robinson logged 6 carries for 26 yards and the team's only score Washington would miss the extra point, however. A lot of eyes on Carson Wentz today in his D.C. debut, he played a little over a quarter, throwing for 74 yards on ten for 13 passing, a little uglier for backup Taylor heinicke four for 9 passing with 21 yards and an interception. Rookie 5th round pick, Sam, Hal, taking the reins at quarterback now for the commanders. For Carolina, it was Sam darnold hooking up with Rashard Higgins for the first touchdown of the day, running back Spencer Brown also finding the end zone to start the scoring in the second half. Baseball Orioles now in the unfamiliar position of defending a playoff spot, a win over the rays last night has them just ahead of Tampa Bay in Minnesota in the AL wild card race. Another big game for the race starts in about an hour and it'll be Baltimore's number four overall prospect and number two pitching prospect DL hall getting the start and making his MLB debut nationals Juan Soto and the Padres are in town and the Nats hope to bounce back tonight after a ten 5 loss to San Diego last night, first pitch from Nats park at 7 p.m. on 1500 a.m., Thomas Robertson, WTO sports

Judge Jackson Wants to 'Meld' American Law With CRT, Social Justice
"There's a piece in town hall by Spencer Brown judge Jackson wants to meld American law with CRT social justice And she's stayed so This isn't some makeup Just kanti Brown Jackson Has a track record not too dissimilar from any other woke academic And despite the Democrats spin that says criticism of Biden's scotus nominee to replace retiring justice Breyer That those criticisms of course are racist They need to be looked at and one document included in SJ Q remarks titled fairness in federal sentencing and examination layout what judge Jackson believes and has sought to impact and in part and I quote her I also try to convince my students at sentencing is just plain interesting on an intellectual level In part because it melds together myriad types of law criminal law of course but also administrative law constitutional law Critical race theory negotiations and to some extent even contracts And if that's not enough to prove to them that sentencing is a subject we're studying I point out that sentencing policy implicates and intersects with Varys other intellectual disciplines as well and she goes on

"Deal. And so the people around him. The pieces around him are still very talented. I just think that they're deep at all of the key positions that they need to be at. Maybe outside of tackle where the undockings is coming back from. Covert nineteen lake. Mary talked about They only have third round pick. Spencer brown's their backup tackle. So i mean injuries could certainly sneak up on them. But i think they're very very talented and very deep roster almost every single important position the way. The team approached defense last year. Being very aggressive getting after the quarterback but not surprised it didn't upgrade the secondary and bring in somebody to help the cornerback spot. yes and no Every single year. It's a running joke kind of at buffalo rumblings. Is you know. We think that they're going to upgrade at the c. v. to spot we look at all these free agents we scott over the top two rounds of the draft and then ultimately they'll pick like a seven hundred quarterback or signing undrafted. Cornerback or josh or something. That was really the most significant investments in the to position that they've made since thank was counting josh and even him obviously on the back end of his career you know he was making. I think six million dollars last year a huge investment but it was an investment nonetheless and we thought that was gonna help it still ended up being levi loss. Who's a former undrafted region. I it doesn't surprise me that they didn't upgrade the quarterback. I wanted them to go back to that. Defensive ends assoc to rollins and so maybe they're one guy that they really liked him. The second round wasn't very defensive. End that they may have gone cornerback. But you know i think they wanna win with pass rush and they think they can get by with that. You know second quarterbacks. How much running do you expect a josh. Our on this year is given the fact that quarterback who ron get hit and get hurt the running game really. I mean they have running back by committee. Josh allens legs such a huge weapon for this team when it comes to his ability to run. Where are you on one allen running and then to who's going to be the if there is going to be a workhorse. Gets the bulk of the carries for the bills this year. Well i really don't think there's going to be a workhorse zach. Moth in different single terrier both third round. Pick from recent drafts Moss maybe inching ahead of single terry but then single terry comes out and has a great preseason game. They're going to feed the hot hand. And so if your fantasy football players probably gonna drive you nuts. But brian cabell comes from that new england patriots coaching tree and so run back back by communities kind of how they operate The first ellen's running. I think you're still going to see a ton of him in the red zone running the ball. He's just so dangerous and so big and strong and powerful that it's you know a waste to not use an in the red zone I don't know if they're gonna use them all over the field like they did in years past They're gonna use that little Quarterback draw if teams. Leave the middle of the field open. And he'll make up eight yards and flied I don't think you're gonna see much zero ball from him. Like keeping over linebackers like he did in his rookie season or i mean when he gets out in the open space even last year he put his shoulder into somebody on the miami dolphins and try to take him out you know when they were having a great season and that could have derailed it. But i don't think he's gonna. There's gonna be a tone of designed runs but once you get into that red zone. I mean all bets are off. They're gonna do that. Little pass stuff and know him running towards line and then dumping it over the top or no having him do the quarterback seats because he's so good at it. Yeah he really is eight rushing touchdowns last year. Four point one yards per. Carry for josh allen just to a huge weapon running the football i mean obviously the completions were insane at sixty nine percent with this in terms of the mvp. Does that motivate josh allen. Does he want to win the mvp. I think as long as he's being compared to lamar jackson. And patrick mahomes the guy that was the year before and seniors him And they both have an mvp. I think it's certainly going to drive him. I don't know you know. It's i don't know if he's going to argue that he should be throwing the ball more or anything like that. He's still gonna play within the system. And i don't know if it's going to motivate him you know on a day to day basis but no he. It certainly going to be something that he would like to add to his shelf. We'll say it'd be very interesting. That good stuff. Thanks appreciate you coming on. "Underrated for me was your seventh round pick out text Tech and that's Jack Anderson. Because I know that the bills were looking for competition across that offensive line, and I had to do a lot of mixing and matching last year to get things right. And they did a great job of it. But I really like what? They've done their and Spencer Brown earlier on me. I know you wanted these late round guys. I'm a huge Spencer Brown fan. I made one of those Old statements on path to the draft a couple weeks ago that Spencer Brown from Northern Island, Ellerson Smith from Northern Iowa, offensive tackle defensive end with both played tip Would both start 10 or more games there. Rookie years. Wow, now I don't expect that is much now because of worse, Spencer Brown went Because you guys are in great shape in the offensive tackle spot. If something does happen, I think this kid's gonna be a heck of a player and his growth. And go ahead and let's use the buzzword His upside. Yeah. Yeah, Except I talked to probably five different offensive line coach is and his name came up independently over all five because of the one question I asked him all was named some of these guys. You're watching that you would be eager to coach and his name came up independently with five different offensive line coach is in the leg. Not me, prompting them. Wow, That's something else, and Brandon being basically said he's essentially the swing tackle. Day one here. Somebody gets hurt. He's in And and by the way If he gets in. I think it's gonna be hard to get him out. I think it's gonna be one of those situations that you will see. Yeah, Maybe he'll make a few mistakes for your early because he's young and remember, he opted out in 2020. He's got a ways to go. Remember, he opted out hadn't played. Just 2019 thought about transferring to another program didn't do it showed up in the Senior Bowl and had a half of the Senior Bowl week. That was big, how I pick things up there, and I think he's one of those quick study guys that once you get in You know what? Wally Pipp yourself, right. Okay. Yeah. You met your match from trouble getting getting that spot that you guys I'm not saying he's going to get it right away. He'll be a swing guy to begin with. One of those guys gets a headache and misses a practice. They may never get it back on the field, right? Yeah, That's exactly you take a couple of Excedrin Excedrin. Very strong, You know, extra strength. Go out there and practice. What do you think? My advice in general on? I know Trevor Lawrence is going to be the headline for whatever we remember about the 2021 draft. What do you think? In general? This class? What do you think? What are you gonna remember about it? What's that? What's going to be it's personalities in the next three years. These guys, What do you think's going to stand out about it? And you talk about the quarterback Steve. No talk about even in general. Whether it's going to be there were 15 offensive lineman taken in the first two rounds of this draft five quarterbacks in the first round, you know, Couple of running. You know, there's a light running back. No defensive tackles really in the fur around. So what do you think we're going to remember about this draft in three years? I think I think obviously the quarterbacks define it because it was so huge. It was about five in the first round five in the 1st 15 picks and frankly, we thought it would be five in the 1st 10 picks because we thought there'd be more activity where someone would come up. Once the Niners didn't take Mack Jones at three. That's where we all wonder. What would the slide for lack of a better term be for him? And it really wasn't a slide? He could have gone to a better situation for himself. But we were wondering if New England did the normal, which is not taken quarterback. But then we had to remember. Then take a quarterback all those years because he had Tom Brady. Why would you take a quarterback in the first round? You just don't do that. That's gonna be part of the personality. Steve, you mentioned the offensive lineman in the number that were taken in most years. What we would say, or I should say an old school football With all those offense of linemen. You would think a bunch of runners would follow. Because you're getting bigger, physical and all that we're just about protecting these cubes were making sure there are bright and they can throw the football. The run on running backs came way later, It was actually rounds four through seven. We only have four running backs going the first three rounds, which was staggeringly stunning to May. What this tells you how we're playing the game nowadays as well. Defensive tackles we knew that was gonna be a struggle for those guys, and it played out that way. They didn't go early. And I think that when you get back to surprises, we talked about Las Vegas. We talked about New Orleans. I think Las Vegas this is going to be the most glaring because Alice Leather what is going to start a right tackle? Day one for them, Dwayne Brown and not Duane Brown, but on Trent Brown went back to New England. He was supposed to be that that rock on the right side. They drafted Leatherwood. They had conviction. And, as I said on draft night When a team has conviction. Sometimes they don't give a flip what we think Travis. Frederick came to mind with Dallas. You guys remember the night he got drafted? The whole leg went what? You get him in the 2nd and 3rd round, Right. Remember when the world remember when Seattle drafted Bruce Irvin. He's to light these two. This is two that it your scheme. And that's what it does with Las Vegas because they're gonna want to run the ball with Jon Gruden, but for them to come back in the second round and still get the top safety in the draft rave on morgue Merrick from TCU. I thought they should have grabbed it 17 they ended. They may have the last laugh on us when it's all, said Charles. With respect to Buffalo's top two picks, you know, with Russo and Boogie Basham. Yes, Playing off your comment about scheme. We know this is a heavy rotational system here with Leslie Frazier As far as his front four goes, I mean, they rotate all the time. It's a big number if one of their starters plays 55% of the snaps in a given game. So with that in mind How much do you expect to see Russo and bash him on the field for this team as rookies? One of them will have to emerge as the guy in terms of when you go quote unquote NASCAR set. You know when we meaning on the defensive front when we get into those sub and nickel packages that we want to rush the passer. Because now you're chasing 2nd, 2nd and 3rd reaction quarterbacks in your own division. Meaning? You know camp just wrestling him to the ground. He may not be this as much a 2nd 3rd reaction as more like Big Ben in his prime, We just shake you off. Still makes a plan. But campaign now still hope it too. When you talk about two in Miami. And now you're adding Zach Wilson..

"The love affair between New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and the mainstream media may be coming to an end for two very important reasons. The first is they don't really need him anymore. They think to what the B. A juxtaposition to Donald Trump's either loved him when he was giving his daily briefing so they could juxtapose it to Donald Trump. Oh, look at Hendrick will be so good, he said. Why can't trump you like this is what we needed a leader in the door over so I don't need him for that anymore. They think Number one and number two. Frankly, more importantly, he got into a screaming match with the reporter today and I'm gonna let you hear exactly what went down the Where all the where all the reporters who love Andrew Cuomo today, it'll be interesting to see what happens there. That's coming up in a bit. That's all coming up. Joining us right now, Spencer Brown he of Young America's foundation to give us a look see on what's going on on your kid's college campuses such as they are Spencer, our kids even On college campuses, or my understanding is that in many campuses, the kids they're they're they're living in their dorms, but they're actually going to class on their laptops in their dorm rooms. That's that's actually quite widespread, is it not? That really is, And it's just I mean, it's laughable that that's what these kids are paying tens of thousands of dollars for more accurately what their parents parents exactly. I think their loans are paying for. It's not really the students. They're having kind of just, you know, a great staycation in their dorm. But, yeah, I mean, there's some schools that have really done a good job of creating kind of a bubble like NBA did And just, you know, basically don't let students off campus and so they're able to have some sort of normalcy. But by and large, you know, the students are either not on campus or if they are, they're still learning like you said, staring at a laptop. And up in Harvard, where they're staring at the laptop. They're also getting politically activated here. You'd think they'd take a break here because they believe they've won the presidential election. But that's not good enough. It's not good enough Spencer to actually win the election. They have to punish everyone who worked in the Trump administration. What's this latest proposal? I'm seeing where this petition that the students were circulating. Yeah, well, the left as a Z. I think we know now never really takes a break and has never never too hesitant to go after the revenge side of things. And so what we see now is students at Harvard have started this petition to effectively blacklist anyone who served at any level of the Trump administration over the last four years. From attending, teaching or speaking at Harvard University's So this is just sort of taking what we've seen, You know, talk from Alexandria, Cossio Cortez about making this blacklist or this Trump Accountability Project that's trying to you know, sort of Keep these people from ever returning to polite society is now being taken up by the brave students of Harvard. So let me I mean, I know people who work in this administration. I listen. I know some of the people who are household names, but I also know some very good men and women who who took a calling the public service they were. They joined the administration there, their office workers there. They're doing the hard work of keeping the administration going in the communications office and various departments, Office of Management and Budget. You're telling me that when they're done working for the White House for the For the executive branch of the federal government, these snot nosed brats of it. Harvard want to keep them from getting a degree from their school just because they happen to work at the White House. That's exactly right. And I mean, that's the perfect classifications of these students. Because really how I mean it's amazing that they would even take the time to look down their nose from Harvard to notice what's going on in the White House, I guess, but it's just It's just it's I mean, it's absolutely absurd. And this is just another one of those situations that proves that these left the students don't want any sort of free and open exchange of ideas on their campus to their own detriment. Because they've at least realized that their ideas, you know they can't stand up in it. Intellectually diverse learning environment. And so things like this do it to service. The students kind of on two levels. You know it. It shows how bad intellectual diversity is on campus in the first place. So you know if they're doing stuff like this conservative idea than general are probably not getting a fair hearing. But then to your point, you know these are all people who served at some level within the White House, and so by banning them from even attending or teaching or guest speaking on campus, they're robbing their students of the opportunity to learn from the people who were kind of in the front row seat to a one of a very remarkable period in American history. You know, these are people who can share a lot of interesting lessons. And whether you agree or disagree. I would love to hear stories. I've you know, I've read a number of books by people who were in the Obama administration because I just wanted to get an understanding better for why they did the things that they did. And you think students would want to hear the same thing. Spencer Brown. I've got to think if you're taking a law class at Harvard or government affairs class, so that you'd agree they're going after you would be well served by hearing Eric Holder lecture about his time in.

"Ring another term that we hear a lot of higher education is marginalized communities based on this literally conservatives are in many cases a marginalized community on these campuses what is a happy medium where universities and colleges can protect that community from undue additional marginalization or being stifled in some way and protect basic first amendment rights or at least the principle of free expression without getting overly metal some because I I feel like there could be an over response what have you found it you have to be an effective balance what we found is just kick starting conversations that as we see from these numbers and as we've seen it yeah after experience just aren't happening so things like you know hosting a campus lecture with one of our speakers is a great way to give these students who might be censoring themselves in the classroom or who don't have or feel like they don't have any friends on campus can come together and find that they're not alone as conservatives and hopefully find some you know solace and some strength and realizing that they can speak up and share ideas and also you know goes to inform them and give them some great talking points use and I think when a conservative comes to a campus and everybody you know shockingly to the left survives the event and isn't you know there's not chaos on campus and nothing burns down because a conservative is allowed to speak date it doesn't go far toward you know showing the conservatives are normal people were not crazy or not extreme and I think it does help provide sort of fodder for other conversations that take place in the classroom after about like that because they so often shake up these campuses when really it shouldn't be a newsworthy event I also feel like the rules have to be set in place and the administration has to make it clear and then stick by them you have every right to disagree you have every right to protest you have every right to ask tough questions of there's a queue in a you do not have a right to prevent someone from being hurt if they're an invited speaker and if you do there will be a repercussion for you that's on the administration and I hope that something that and that's what I've generally experience and I think it's the type of my model that ought to be replicated everywhere Spencer brown from young America's foundation appreciate your time if you want to read more about this study from you and see you can read Conor Frieder start at the Atlantic Spencer thanks absolutely thank you we will set aside and be right back after this short break on the guy Benson show conservative.

"See if it's a good fit for you let me share healthcare you can be leave them I word joining them we're joined so this morning sitting in for obvious Connie's is Spencer brown who is a spokesman for young America's foundation commonly known as Yaffe in and I do find this this movement interesting because you had mentioned what is talking to you said that you go there and you can find out the discount cultural like it's kind of cool to be conservative because you the rebels now and we've been discussing this idea this idea has come up pretty frequently as as as time goes on special to the trump presidency you have stable that artists out in California who is you know I I I guess he's like in his fifties right in and he and he's even come out and said he said it's the it's the counter culture now find the counter culture now I'm the one who's cool I'm against the establishment and he said you're starting to see more artists now be com against the establishment and now you know he's he's shaking things up out there by attacking Hollywood by attacking these leftist ideas with his art and so it's kind of interesting to think that the you know the stereo type is if you go go to see pack you know you see you see the kids and they're all very nicely dressed in their dockers and they've got their button down shirts and select the stereo type is totally there right you know and with their vineyard vines which I can't afford vineyard vines over these kids even your vines from right now like I can afford vineyard vines and and there is so so you and they are the counter culture which is whole areas yes well it is interesting too because it's not just the art world are necessarily on campuses but even you have comedians down people like that if you look at what the left has done it's basically killed fun and free expression at this point because all that they will tolerate is people and product in art who is completely in line with whatever the line of the day is for the left and so many people getting this cancel culture you can get canceled for anything you've done today thirty years ago forty years ago and so to be a conservative and stick with what you believe even if you're not that conservative just sticking with beliefs or fax or common sense now is counter cultural who's just saying cancel culture it's fascism exactly but we call it cancel culture because that sounds so much nicer than fascism it's fascism why so the so what Dr I don't like when the right adopts the less terms interesting that drives me crazy because they put bows on pigs and they control the language and the right allows them to control the language so by the right adopting terms like cancel culture no it's that's fascism stop calling it something pretty because it's not I like that and I think that might act that that that's an excellent point and I agree with that we always tell our students that actually is that don't go with what the left is saying because you've already lost on if you're taking their their terms but I think the term cancel cultures probably a product of people who are more on the left side of things having this sort of fascist I pressure on them trying to come up with something cute to call it because you're afraid that if they actually call it fascism what it is that's just going to completely and their career whatever that exactly but when we sit on the radio we say things like and this cancel culture no it's not cancel because ITS fascism yeah so we have to stop saying a and and this is I fight this all the time and and you know I don't know I'm like the a lady on the porch going and keep the ball the comes in my yard but if you if you you is once you use it like is that once you start to use their terminology you have lost the fight stop using their terminology call them what they are they love to call the right fascist their fashion so you support Donald Trump your fascist no wait a minute your the fascist you you're the one who you instead of wearing brown shirts your crew where is black it's the same thing as what Hitler's brown shirts did accept your guys were black and masks Hitler's guys at least show their faces that's true so and they don't know history and they don't want you know so I don't know I I just think we we would go to run down this dangerous slope when we change excuse me when we change language like this to accommodate what they're doing to make it not sound so bad I just got canceled no you got beat down yeah by a vote fascists yeah people are losing their careers are losing their jobs their livelihood and I think that point rings true through everything you see today with the laughter they obviously have these diversity and inclusion centers on campuses now they have all these diversity officers in the fortune five hundred companies and all they're there to do is basically forced the will of the lacked which again is a fascist tactic in order to create the speech because a lot of people you can't think like that that's you know to sexes of your that's misogynistic and no matter what you do I feel like because the left is always moving the goal posts yes even adopting their terms is gonna be a losing battle because eventually Ackley saying cancel culture is probably going to become a dog whistle for something else to the left in the term dog dog whistles another one like now I'm not secret code you heard the words there was there was something else that she said that wanted has gonna forgot what it was but I'm I'm sure it'll it'll come back to me because I do find this whole thing fascinating about and and how one thing I do notice is that of all comedians he talked about comedians Dave Chapelle Francis has just come flat out and I see the left driving moderate people to the right completely I'm I said this yesterday too two one we had Henry Rogers and here I'm independent I've never registered with the party ever I have voted Democrat I voted Republican I voted libertarian I thought Green Party once okay whatever I like to the guys just for I don't party evo person yeah they are forcing me to become more conservative just because they're so insane and they they they demand so much of me don't like are you people they're forcing me to the other side and I think you're starting to see that in Hollywood with comedians and you do you also made the point that they that nothing is fun nothing is funny not we can't laugh at anything you're starting to see all in the family back on TV you're starting to see Hollywood porch that a little bit woody Harrelson is not a good Archie bunker I will tell you that just bring back the original show was not re do which is bring back the original show but the liberal suck the fun out of everything and I say that all the time nothing is fun nothing is funny everything is said the wells are dying it's it's a terribly wake up as soon as their feet hit the ground in the morning they have or they have to find a reason to be miserable and it's a terrible place today it's a really really terrible place to be I so we've got Spencer here all show with us very excited to have him we have you as well we have a lot coming up Henry Rogers joins us at eight OO five and we have a lot.

"Week we tomorrow's Friday Walter and I am here this morning with Spencer brown he is a spokesman for the young America's foundation commonly known as yeah we all know about yeah so thank you so much for joining me this morning absolutely thank you for having me join you a high price for she'd come in and sit in the C. were texting yesterday back and forth and he's like turned out to be there for like four fifteen although okay right now actually dark and really I don't think the sun is up start yeah yeah eight if that fight never went to a window like like during the show I never know because we're in a windowless studio in the sense that we have windows into the hall windows into the news windows into the producers room but there are no outside windows so if the sun does not rise we would never know that's okay you don't know you don't realize how long you're here in the morning then you don't know how dark it is for how long no when you get up and you get in the car and it's dark you know it's dark it was you know that you're up before most normal people it was the dead of night yes it is the dead of night still it running I never know whether to say the morning like I get what time I get up in the morning because I get up at three am to most people like that's not morning no that's not that's not nice yeah I guess I going to do so but I think it's much for joining us course so I'd like to just let's let's talk about you let's find out about you but then I also would like to talk about Yass and and let's educate people on yeah because I think it's a really great organization from what I know of it all right and and what their mission is and let some would really like to delve into that's let's talk a little bit about you first who are your back who are you I am brown and yeah I serve as the spokesman over a young America's foundation it's an organization that I was involved with as a student myself and we work you know every day to make sure that young people specifically college and high school students have the opportunity to hear conservative ideas because obviously that's something that's just missing on a lot of campuses today so how did you get involved in this that there was an organ there was a chapter at your college or high school because you work with high schools as well so was a college or high school unfortunately I didn't hear about it while I was in high school I wish I would have now looking back but I got involved when I was a freshman in college I went to regent university which is down in Virginia beach made the track there from Minnesota where I was born and raised so then they switch up to be at the beach then for a couple years actually started the after after at my university and then got involved got to visit the Reagan ranch which I phones and preserves I just got really plugged into the conservative movement and saw that there's a lot that needs to be done and there's a lot of the young person can do even early in their career to help that okay so you started right how though okay how did you find out about yes and then start the that as a freshman in college yeah so that's a great question and I still don't actually have the ability to remember I don't know how I first heard about yeah I number one day all the sudden I just sent an email to the info at yeah dot org email address and got plugged in and before I knew it I was like I said you know flying out to the Reagan ranch to go walk around in president Reagan's footsteps and it's something that I think definitely changed my life I think I probably would have ended up in the movement or doing what I do now if it hadn't been for an organization like yeah I would probably be you know just some Flack on Capitol Hill or something else so you always want to go in politics yeah well it that came about kinda late to in high school up until basically my senior year I was gonna go to business school I want to work in HR which is really oddly specific for somebody it is a highly specific and as someone who worked in HR for awhile I got out of it it is it is it going to lucrative radio career so yeah but my cheese is a little off but it's always the first thing that gets cut in any organization well so like whatever they're downsizing they cut they go right at the age are they start slashing away what I'm hearing is I made the right choice yeah okay well that's good that's good to know but yeah so it's it's it's something that's definitely been a huge part of my life and now that I work at yeah off you know obviously it basically is my life and it's cool now because I get to work with students on these crazy campus as regent university for anyone I'm familiar with it is a pretty conservative school so I didn't have any of these campus brawls but now my job is to go into those campus brawls and make sure the conservative students have the information on the resources they need to fight back whenever they're being silenced or whatever have right and make sure that they win the day okay so so region again I don't know anything about regent university a conservative school is it a religious school yes okay okay so they they do tend although not all of them I begin with your crying because I went to Villanova Catholic school but it's run by the Augustinians whereas the like doors trying to believe is run by the Jesuits I think yes stored right way more liberal way more so so what is it to hold Lee different worlds on my knees goes to Villanova now too and I asked her after the last election I as I said so I said so did you guys like a days off school and everything and she has no merry she's knowing the priest don't care about your feelings well I'm so glad to see nothing strange it is a cool class only go good where is I think it's some more there are still Catholic schools and and religious affiliated schools that are more liberal well even in even Christian schools that are more in line region is basically name Angelico unaffiliated but evangelical school and there are even schools like that that we've had trouble with in just the last year so where they've tried to block people like Ben Shapiro for coming calling them divisive into that you know I just want to have you read the gospel you know Jesus was not necessarily entirely unifying figure when he went to the right one started flipping tables if you're worried about divisiveness being that sort of the code by which you judge whether somebody's allowed to speak or not I think that's a pretty slippery slope so it's not just the Jesuit schools pretty much any school in the country obviously you've got all the schools in California you've got the ivy leagues that are not necessarily from my concern yes and it really is an up hill battle for students and that's why you know it's so important I think that young people do get involved getting gauged and be willing to fight for their ideas so now when you did this you you were welcomed a region you didn't have a problem with it because you said you were welcomed by the administration and nobody had a problem with you organizing this or this group and was it at the time I would have I would assume that not a lot of people probably heard of you I'm not on that campus no there were people who were familiar with the Reagan ranch road down there through other things right heard about it but people weren't necessarily that familiar with the on campus activism of it and that chapters that we have all over the country but what was interesting at region was because it was so conservative they're just kind of a general apathy toward why we needed to protect or defend conservative ideas or even sort of you know know what we believe it was a sort of taken for granted that all your at region or conservative and so it had sort of a chilling effect of a different kind than what we see on these liberal campuses where young people were just again taking for granted conservatism exist conservatism is fine and I think it was kind of dangerous for a lot of people because I got into the real world had to defend their ideas and haven't had to do that in the classroom catches I think there's definitely a choice to be made when you're looking at school some days I look back and I think you know I should on the Berkeley I would have a lot more fun you know crazy and causing chaos everywhere I went but I think you know there's a sort of something to be said for both educational yeah it's okay all right very interesting and what are its ease so you you're in college you start yeah I'm in it because you started the chapter that's how you wound up going to the Reagan ranch because you started the chapter and so you go to the Reagan ranch and what what was the point of going there what was that about that conference was that's when we actually still do today but it's kind of welcome to yeah sort of conference where you get sort of a crash course in conservative ideas from a number of different speakers I remember the first because that weekend was Alex Marlowe from Breitbart who at the time told us about this new website called buzzfeed I'm talk about why conservatives need to be engaged in the culture and things like that and why because buzzfeed exists conservatives are already kind of losing out on a lot of people who are reading that for cat gifs and cat videos who are obviously getting the same leftist indoctrination from that as they get from the classroom just a bunch of different speakers who sort of again made it clear that it's okay to be conservative that it's actually kind of cool and counter cultural the conservative today which is definitely I think you need to this generation because before it was definitely not the conservatives were the wider culture rebels on their campuses it was just a really great way to meet a lot of other like minded conservatives from different schools all over the country some of whom I'm still really good friends with today so it has multiple benefits to students where you get to understand better what it means to be a conservative you sort of get your call to action bold conservative action wherever you are and then you also get to meet a lot of people who you know are kind of in that fight with you and it was a great experience and obviously home kept me in tight with yeah all right we're gonna talk more about yes with us Spencer brown coming up right now it is five fifteen it's time for WMAL traffic.

Conservatives fear liberal 'group think' is sweeping the nation
"There once was a time at least on some college campuses. Where ideas were not always the same, and you would have diverse opinions on topics and even political issues. Well, that time seems to have come and gone. I had a chance to sit down and chat with Spencer Brown. He's a Young America foundation spokesman, and I asked him when did this whole group think on college campuses begin on? Fortunately, this is a problem that we've seen, you know, basically since Young America's foundation was started back in the nineteen sixties and what it is. Is it's just administrators using their power and professors using their power over students to just keeps us one side. But I think what we've seen in the years since we started doing us report as sort of more extreme cases of leftists indoctrination. So now, you've got intersection now is we've been and sort of victim mentality that the left wants to us is just completely pervade. These courses. So where it used to be started the white entity politics departments the women's studies gender studies departments. Now, it's even in English courses history courses economics courses, it's just kind of everywhere now. So what are some of the more outrageous examples when you guys did this study why I think one of the most alarming trends that we saw in this year's comedy and tragedy report is a resurgence in courses that talk about Marx and Marxism as if it were relevant today and could solve some of the problems that America faces in the twenty first century when obviously we know Marxism. Socialism has been tried many times in the past and always with disastrous results
