"Michelle. Yeah, some positivity. We certainly had that story play out in the states, largely because of a big drop in yields right across the treasury curve. You guys will be talking about the fed story in detail, so I won't steal too much of your thunder. 25 basis points, yeah, that was expected additional rate hikes, they will be required according to fed shared shaped Powell, but the markets doesn't or really not convinced if you look at the bond market. We had yields lower today and they are continuing to trend lower in the Tokyo session with a ten year now at three 40, a two year treasury at 4.09%. The AK pushing higher, not by much two tenths of 1%. We are looking at a much stronger yen one 28 45 against the greenback the dollar cratered with a drop in yields in the New York session. We were down if you look at the Bloomberg dollar spot index around 8 tenths of 1%, the dollar remains on the back foot in Seoul, the Cosby rising by about 9 tenths of 1% communication services and information tech out in front and in Sydney the ASX 200 ahead 6 tenths of 1%. Taking a closer look at the market action for you in about 15 minutes from now, Brian. All right, Doug, thanks very much. Let's get a closer look here at the fed. It slowed its drive to reign in inflation. Policymakers lifting the fed's target for the benchmark rate at 25 basis points to a range of 4.5 to 4.75%. The smaller move followed a half point increase in December and four jumbo sized 75 basis point hikes prior to that. The fed noted that inflation has eased somewhat, but it remains elevated. After today's decision, chair Jay Powell was asked whether he was worried about the recent market rally, creating easier financial conditions that could hamper his fight against inflation. He chose not to push back hard. It is important that the overall financial conditions continue to reflect the policy or strength that we're putting in place in order to bring inflation at 2%. And of course, financial conditions have tightened very significantly over the past year. I would say that our focus is not on short term moves, but on sustained changes to broader financial conditions. And it is our judgment that we're not yet in a sufficiently restrictive policy stance. Which is why we say that we expect ongoing hikes will be appropriate. However, Powell added that he's gratified to see the disinflationary process now getting underway. He did say that officials would need substantially more evidence, though, that inflation was on a sustained downward path before the fed could declare victory. "Now we're starting next week. Yeah, right. It's very, very weird. And so the post notes that akin was sure to win over enough southern House members to gain a plurality in the speakership newspapers reported. We think we can count a 109 votes for mister Aiken if jealousy or something else does not defeat him. A Washington star correspondent wrote and democratic president Franklin Pierce called up, I guess not called up. But what it says. That night, democratic president Franklin Pierce, congratulated Aiken in advance on his victory. So that's Friday, Friday night. They're like, okay, okay, we got it. The southern states are holding out on our guy, Richardson, because he's not pro slavery enough. So we're going to find somebody who's more pro slavery. This guy Aiken. Democrats, again, are willing to vote for him because we'd rather have him than bobbin boy dude. And that's going to get us from 73 votes up over well past the threshold to a 109. And we're going to be our long national nightmare will be over. Saturday is the vote. The plurality resolution passes, does it pass with a polarity or what do you need to pass the plurality one? Okay, so here's the thing. They take three votes without passing the plurality resolution. And on that, they don't know. Banks leads ake it, right? That bobbin boy leads leads Inc and a 103 to 95, right? So you had lots more votes come in for aching, right? That's 22 more votes for akin. But three more votes for banks and not enough to close the gap. And then you pass the plurality resolution, a bunch of people drop out and the idea is these kind of minor candidates that have been running and the idea is, okay, they're all going to switch over to Aiken and he's going to get at least 9 of them and become Speaker of the House. And so at 7 p.m., the final total comes in a 103 for banks, a hundred for acres. And banks become Speaker of the House, despite a larger coalition, existing in the House of Representatives that were too many varying threads of pro slavery to coalesce on a single candidate. And that strikes exactly as kind of exactly where we are. There's too many strands of insurrection Y election denying crap to agree. Is that what you're saying? That's right. And I don't want to say that Hakeem Jeffries is going to be Speaker of the House. I do not think that is, I don't think that that is likely. I want to add one more bit, most people know this. There's no requirement that the Speaker of the House. A present member of the House. So again, I don't want to give aid and comfort to the enemy here, but if I were the Republicans and this goes on for a couple of days, I would go over to the Democrats and say like, okay, how many of you could vote for Liz Cheney? Yeah. I'm surprised so I have none of the nut jobs nominated Trump yet. Not yet. And here's the bigger thing. Trump you may have not seen this. The McCarthy folks called Trump last night, and he issued a statement encouraging his supporters to vote for McCarthy. It changed zero votes. So it's almost like he doesn't have the magic touch anymore. It's almost as though, you know, having broken down the gate for crazies to come in, that like I never thought the leopard to me. My face, right? Let's put this in stark terms. If the house is permanently deadlocked for two years, that's not going to happen. But suppose that this like every day, they just show up and fail to vote for Kevin McCarthy, and then wait until they're bored and then get together. And just real quick, refresh me. Can they vote for nothing else until this is done? Are they allowed? They seem to be the reason I ask is they seem to be available to do resolutions about whether or not they can vote for a House speaker with plurality, but that's all they can do. They can't do like, you know, if a bill comes from the Senate to them, they just can't deal with it. Because that we actually have pretty good evidence on it. And it has to do with what things can take priority on a floor vote. Right? So we've talked about how, for example, the reason you can't filibuster in the house is really there are two things. Number one, debate is limited by the House rules that they have not yet adopted. And number two, as a backstop, a motion for the previous question is always germane in the house, right? So in other words, you can kind of slip that to the top of the votes that you're taking. Because that's the way Roberts rules of order puts it. And that was done to resolve with finality, like, okay, what if we're confused? And seriously, like the question was, what if we're confused, we've got a bill, you got a motion to amend, you got a motion to lay on the table, that's a real motion. That doesn't mean you actually lie down. When you table it, you're like, okay, make this go away. We could pick it up again later if we want, but practically speaking, remove this from the queue. What if you have all the N one if you have a motion to delete an emotion to suspend the rules and all that and nobody knows where the hell everything is. And Roberts was like, okay, then what you do is you move the previous question. And that means I want us to vote on the bill up or down as it stands right now. So with that notion of like, there's a priority the motion to nominate a speaker always has priority on the floor of the House of Representatives and the constitution says you shall choose a speaker House of Representatives. So they're stuck again, could you convince a majority of the House of Representatives to ignore those rules and move forward? You could, but right now they can't convince a majority of the House of Representatives to adjourn. So I'm not too worried about that right now. It's truly, truly fascinating.

"Watching for you, Thursday morning at WWD TLP speaker, House speaker Nancy Pelosi, is this week defending that recent trip she made to Taiwan, which is like China to ramp up military exercises. Mitchell Miller on Capitol Hill with the latest. We will not allow China to isolate Taiwan. Speaker Pelosi makes no apologies for leading a congressional delegation to the island, and she says the trip is being used by China as an excuse for saber rattling. Their pretext was our visit for them to do what they normally do intensify. China claims Taiwan as its own territory. Beijing has sharply criticized Pelosi's visit and has been carrying out a series of military exercises involving ships and warplanes as well as missile firings. While The White House initially indicated reservations about Pelosi's trip, she's received bipartisan support for standing up to China. On Capitol Hill, Mitchell Miller WT open news. August 11th, good Thursday morning glad you're with us this early hour at WTO where the time now is two 38. I think it bothered on the 8th and when it breaks, good morning to rich hunter and the WTO P traffic center. Hi, good morning, dean. If you're traffic on the Internet with the bellway headed north of the dolls toll road, you may want to reconsider continuing through because it looks like they've stopped traffic and works on it again once they stop traffic they may hold it as long as 30 minutes, the longest they've held it was a little earlier this morning they held it for about 20. But again, what you do get moving you will get by single file to the left, but for the moment, everybody stop looks like they're doing some work on that Georgetown road bridge. Georgetown pike bridge, I should say, right now, the antelope at the belly not affected all lanes are open, you move along without delay, the express lanes on the beltway in Virginia, the inner loop between the entrance and Springfield 66 remain closed, they're doing some work on all front that actually takes you to both east and westbound 66 they're doing some heavy lifting up there. So for safety, they've kept the express lanes on the inner loop side closed. Once again, if you're on 66 east pound, you can access the inner loop express lanes, but not before that point. Speaking of eastbound 66 between the fairfax county parkman route 50 fairfax, down to a single left lane to the work zone as of late, just a brief tabitha breaks in that work zone. In the district they were checking for a crash reported to be on Florida avenue, I just did the south of Rhode Island avenue police and fire were headed out that way. "Editor Bill O'Neill headlines President Biden offering his condolences to the family of Indiana Republican congresswoman Jackie walorski after she was killed in a car crash earlier today along with two aides. Whatcom county has its first confirmed monkeypox case health leaders in Bellingham report a person in their 50s tested positive and is quarantined at home. They think this case is linked to a King County exposure and are working to find close contacts. Wall Street finishing higher snapping a two day skid will have a closer look at that coming up here in just about three and a half minutes. Veterans who've argued for years that the packed act means the difference between life and death for them finally won their case for healthcare for exposure to toxic burn pits, but not without protests and delays. At least jaffee has an update from ABC's J O'Brien. Jay so much relief today for veterans who've been fighting for this bill, explain the toll, this has taken on them to get to where we are today. Well, this has been a really long process for the veterans groups who have wanted this. And frankly, for years. And a lot of it was summed up by comedian Jon Stewart, who's been working alongside this group. He spoke today and he said, this is a quote. I'm not sure if I've ever seen a situation where people who have given so much have had to fight so hard for to get so little, and I hope we learn a lesson. And that kind of is emblematic of how long it's taken this bill to get across the finish line, not just over the last few years, but particularly within the last few days in Congress. As you know, this bill was originally teed up for a vote, and then it lost Republican support. There was a question as to why it lost Republican support. Republicans said it lost support because there was a budgetary item in the bill they didn't like, but Democrats said that because there had been that inflation reduction act negotiated between Schumer and mansion that Republicans were pulling their support because they didn't like the way those negotiations and what nonetheless finally last night it gets crossed the goal line. And the vote is 86 to 11, so it's relatively bipartisan, but there are 11 Republicans who vote against last night. But yes, a big relief for veterans groups. A lot of them, by the way, have been protesting outside the capitol for days over the course of the weekend trying to essentially shame lawmakers into bringing this bill for a vote in the limited time they have before the Senate's August recess and just as someone who lives in Washington, D.C., I can point out to you that it's been really hot over the last few days. So staging this protest outside the capitol, not to mention the emotional toll, but it takes a physical toll too. These 11 Republicans who didn't vote for it was this all because of financial issues. You can't imagine them not supporting veterans who've been exposed to toxic chemicals from burn pits. Well, that's the $1 million question or the $1 billion question because of how big of a bill this is. But Republicans have said, particularly pat toomey of Pennsylvania that they wanted a better mechanism in the bill to determine how the money was spent. Their allegation was that the current text of the bill, and there were a number of allegations, but this is one of them. That the current text of the bill allowed the money to be spent on a number of things other than veterans healthcare. But again, there was this speculation, particularly amongst Democrats, but amongst others on the hill that this Republican opposition was actually because of that inflation reduction at deal that Democrats came to with secret negotiations didn't involve the Republicans and Republicans were upset about that and therefore, at least in the short term, attempted to hold up this bill because of their anger. And certainly the timing matches up, this bill got a lot of opposition right around the time the inflation reduction act was announced. And quickly, Jay also, what are we hearing from Nancy Pelosi today the speaker House speaker after her stop in Taiwan? Well, she's wheels up. She's out of Taiwan, obviously she's landed in South Korea. She reaffirmed her commitment as she was leaving to Taiwan's democratic process, said that Taiwan's democratic government is under threat from China. China obviously strongly denounced in the visit still even after the speakers left and what's next is that China will hold live fire drills. These are drills with live ammunition in the air and water around Taiwan in the coming days. That's their next moves. ABC's J O'Brien, thank you so much, Jay. With a Lisa

"Yeah, wow. It is just quiet part out loud all day, every day. You're in these United States. Apparently there are graphics that illustrate George Washington and Thomas Jefferson being opposed to slavery while also failing to mention that they own slaves. Yeah, they were, they were real, real. They worked real hard about that. But anyway, I'm just like, anyway, it's absurd. I literally we have descended into terrifying absurdity. Yeah. Well, okay, since we're on the American politics train, I might as well do this one. What else is there right now? I couldn't find anything else. I honestly, honestly, here's how here's a funny one. Listeners will recall that we talked about how in California some very grumpy Catholic bishops decided that they would deny speaker House speaker Nancy Pelosi. Yeah. Her cracker and wine, her weekly cracker and wine, her beloved sacred eucharist. The communion, they were gonna not give her communion. Right. Well, she went over their heads. What? How? Did she go to the Pope? She was in Rome, baby. She went to a mass presided over by Pope Francis, his goddamn self and took communion there. Did she wink at the camera while she was? I hope she pointed directly at it. And just whispered the name of the other of the other bishop. I hope she was like chewing the cracker and just being like, yeah, buddy. How do you like me now? I think that is such a funny dopey power move, but I kind of love it. I just think it's wonderful. I just think that that is, I mean, it's such a slap. Like you can not come up with a better slap in the face of a Catholic bishop than to have the Pope do the thing that they have said, they can not do because of their because of their firmly held religious beliefs. And then the Pope's like, yeah, but why though? Yeah. And of course, I guess I should make it explicit that the reason that she was being denied this, the communion was because she supports abortion rights in the United States. It's explicit on that front, and then Pope Francis is like, yeah, but shut up. Just give the woman her communion. Yeah. Just shut up. Give the uppity woman..

"Economist at the Texas Public Policy Foundation. About all these consumer prices spiking inflation is your biggest jump since 2008. Those are the numbers this morning. He'll give us some perspective on that as well. But right now I want to talk to you about an event that's taking place this weekend at the D. C prison, which, as you know, has been the place that several people have been held. For for an extended period not for an unusual amount of time, given the crimes that they're accused of for their actions on January 6th of this year inside of the United States Capitol building, and one of the people who is focused on this as a gentleman called Matt Brainard is the executive director of Look ahead. America dot org Ian He's a part of organizing a rally. This weekend on this issue, Matt Good after India. Thanks for having me. I'm glad to be here. Tell us about the rally. While we're at an unprecedented moment in our histories country's history where we have people being imprisoned as political prisoners that's usually a phrase we apply to other nations where there's dictators or communists. But it's happening right here and we believe between 40 and 60. Individuals are being held at that prison, not because of what they did, and in most cases, it was nothing violent. They were just in the wrong place at the wrong time. They're being held there being denied Bell or being or or they have not yet been charged. And the only reason they're there is not because of anything they've done. But because of their political beliefs and because the progressive left needs them to be in prison, needs them to be held guilty for a imaginary insurrection for them to advance their political agenda, because if they really charge these people with what they had done They would have been let out. You know, on the same day with $35.50 dollars fines, which is what they've done to the left wing protesters who stormed the capital over and over again stormed the speakers. House form the Senate during the Kavanaugh hearing. But instead they need they need these people to be terrorist level convicts in order to advance their narrative of there being an insurrection, and that's what they base everything else they're trying to do from purging the military from taking away our Second Amendment rights from declaring That the white supremacy is the greatest threats of the country from advancing CRT in our school systems. This is the root of all of it, So we've got to fight for these people to get them justice and get them released, And it's also part of pushing back against that fake insurrection narrative. You know, it's it's not everyone who was inside the capital on January six, smash the window or punched a cop that we definitely obviously seen footage of some of that and everyone involved. There should be prosecuted to the proper extent of the law. But what you're talking about is people who may have been welcomed in by Capitol police. We saw some of that video. We saw people standing around Grandma's standing around inside the Capitol waving American flags. In the midst of all of this, and you mentioned that there are people who are still being held in the D. C. Shell who have not been charged. There are people who have had no charges whatsoever and they're being held in the jail. The government has made the case that they need more time to analyze the evidence and developed a case in that these people are high profile domestic terrorists. And that justifies it. And it also justifies in some cases where there have been charges or more charges to come, denying them the opportunity for bail and many of these people are military veterans. And the vast majority of them did not do anything remotely violent. It was essentially a civil disobedience, protests and I don't believe that most them even knew they were doing anything wrong. I don't believe mostly were even thinking they were interrupting it and they just walked through open doors into our capital. You and I can walk into that capital almost any other day of the week at the public building. So it really just comes down to this phony narrative being so necessary for the left to advance its cause it right Making these people pay the price. Yes. So what happens to, uh Medea Benjamin? She's the head of code pink shoe. She frequently interrupts congressional hearings, and she'll be dragged out by Capitol police. What happens when she does that? And why? Why isn't something like that occurring? Two people who trespassed into the capital on January six because the people in power would not find that useful to their agenda. This is really what it's about. That's why these people are political prisoners. That's why prosecutors are going into court to deny these people bail on the basis of lies that the judges are not correct. The prosecutor's going into court saying that these people killed a bunch of cops. On January six, and the judges are just eating it up and that those lies and these this this nationwide dragnet trying to turn into like another September 11th. Is it unprecedented? So there's three categories of folks here There are many hundreds of people have been arrested, who did not do anything remotely violent had their lives turned upside down, lost their jobs been had empty. Other states get rid of the fence. Because and then there's these folks that are being held in these prisons without the opportunity for Bell, who did nothing remotely violence to serve their country military and then you have Ashley habit. And that there needs to be a congressional level oversight investigation into what exactly happened to her because you and I saw a grown muscular man charged President Trump in public. What happened to him? He was tackled to the ground, Russell and taken out. Yes, this is a £90 woman UN arms, trying to climb a window with no perceived threat anywhere near her shot dead. There needs to be accountability for the decision to do that, and, if necessary, somebody that they held accountable. That's a fascinating an apt comparison. I haven't heard it made yet, but it definitely resonates. Matt Brainard is the executive director of Look ahead. America dot org organizer of a quote Hashtag Free Political Prisoners rally at the D. The state of play in New Hampshire and beyond
"Democrats rather have a catastrophic week they began on Monday when the democratic Iowa caucuses turned into a display of shocking incompetence Democrats unlock I stay were unable to tell America who won and who came in second the only certainty was about who is the real loser that was Joe Biden who finished fourth now polls show Bernie Sanders with a comfortable lead in New Hampshire the next day tomorrow coming up next week I am sure it means that Democrats are beginning to panic Bernie Sanders is believed by many of them to be electable party veterans all used to liberal and center left candidates are now beginning to speak out against the socialist Democrat Bernie Sanders by Tuesday evening some Iowa numbers at chuckled and there was a leader but no winner Biden I repeat puts forth with impeachment still technically undecided on Tuesday night Donald Trump entered the house chamber to give his state of the union address the state of our union is stronger than ever before impeachment never came up but what the president did say appealed to the majority of Americans a healthy majority of Americans of all much of what he said will be remembered by those who pay close attention it was Nancy Pelosi who stole the show with a petulant act following trump's words of god bless you and god bless America thank you very much hearing those words a speaker of the house rose tore up the signed print a copy of the speech the president just delivered as she stood out of my sight mine the president but for all of America to see she did it for all the world to see that it was not a good look for the leader of the Democratic Party the morning after the speech I discuss not Nancy moment and much more with Georgia senator David Perdue senator I thought it was historic state of the union speech last night I thought it was historic tantrum by a petulant speaker pelo three what did you think about last night but Dr yeah I agree with you you're a student of history but I I T. I think last night was a historic speech it built on the the successes of his first three years in late at a farm plan for a vision for America the last five minutes that speech I think we're really his story but the Democrats such as close to the Democrats showed exactly why they should be in charge I mean how Petula can you be to not stand up for a child and in grammar school was gonna get a choice to go to school and how about the Tuskegee American hero they would even stand for him it was really insulting for America it was astonishing in many respects the touching Mrs you it does not like long speeches she'd never watched either George W. bush a president Obama but she's military kid so she came in to stand up for the general and for the for military families and for the widow and the son of the lost soldier I could not believe I actually cannot believe senator produ the Nancy Pelosi tore up a speech that honor to Tuskegee airmen and all those other heroes well it just shows their their don't care about the future American I want power and we see it and everything this purely partisan political process I just ran in this impeachment process speech tons about that they don't want the truth they just want power and Schumer talk about it all the time you talk about on your show I mean what they want to do with America is taken and regressed back to what has been proven to fail around the world of the last century really I got to play for you a few quotes about what was said last night this is Chris Matthews on MSNBC Democrat cut forty three Chris Matthews I think he wore I came from the like the speech tonight I think regular people well not with us see the Smalls the corny this still see it but don't like it because it's all good stuff whatever purpose it had and I look at something about I watched closely because I really respect like most Mister I was very the way she held me to win the stand when to apply it was almost a normal almost entirely the tributes to people to individual people she always felt that was the right thing to do especially the one quite out I'm right there one why don't this is van Jones on CNN another hard left person cut number forty four and and the thing about it is and I think that we we got to wake up folks do the whole bubble thing that goes on with the will he said **** nations there for all but you will get him forever that ain't necessarily so and I think what you're gonna see him do is say I you like my rhetoric the look at my results look at my record to black people now this is Jake tapper on CNN cut forty five okay we've never really seen a scholarship given which is what the president did with the with the young girl from Philadelphia we've seen the type of thing where a war hero like the Tuskegee airmen brigadier general McGee we seen that honored and it was a lovely moment to have a one hundred year old does he here's Chris Cuomo on CNN four wheeling poignant moments that came I don't know if you saw them but you should go online and look and I'm gonna talk to you about it more later on the president in that speech tonight celebrated with this country is about from one set of moments are finally Claire McCaskill on your former colleague senator produ on MSNBC cut number fifty of course the flow state tearing up the street I can argue that that maybe wasn't the best idea it you know I think America once everyone to get along and get things done but what you know when I can play a montage of left left left left left and they're all applauding the president you know we had a home run senator produ I'm shocked I mean I really am but what he did was historic I say it again I mean he did mention impeachment once he rose above that he showed great disappoint he showed vision for America but here's the difference American people we built America because everybody out there in the real world view like you and others know how to get results the political partisanship here is not focused on results and president trump is trying to break through that that's why I think he's going to do extremely well this fall at Lana is the home of some great talk radio Neal Bortz had many disagreements over the years but he's a friend we visited with President Bush in the oval one time is phone went off one of the funniest moments I've ever seen a withering look from the president at Neil Sean Hannity had a lot of great years in Atlanta you know Rush Limbaugh personally I say he built the mall in which the rest of us live in I hope you stood in a plot in one rush got that last night I couldn't see last night but it was moving it was emotional every family in America that struggles with cancer saluted him what did you think of that moment well I had dinner with him a few weeks ago in Florida and I was in what would this be to that was a total surprise last night to me I think that homeowners a great American hero he did go out first and blaze a trail to tell the truth and that's what you and many others are doing now and that's what's gonna win today just look at the numbers of conservative talk radio out there and their numbers are going up in the liberal left numbers are going down so I mean I think the middle part of America is leading and showing how California New York Illinois have totally failed their governance and now they want to export that to the federal government I think most people in America see what trump is doing and they certainly recognizes result this present you said on the top he's done more for the Arab American community and in America any other president since Lincoln I think Britt slough editor of the National Review discuss the state of the union while on Chicago's morning answer with Salem stand problem Amy Jacobson that will settle somewhere then people are safe and she's the woman of the hour and she just couldn't find any truth than from say the union address that's why if you threw a tantrum yeah well the whole thing about Nancy Pelosi she's popular supposedly this calm cool calculating presence to his genius is getting under trump skin and she showed her deep irritation last night does incredibly test headed yesterday I think trump said of shook her hand at the beginning I like grace notes but they're ripping up the the speech yeah he should have known this moment was gonna come when she started to impeach shop in the first place that eventually he'd be acquitted or be near quit all and he'd be this majestic setting and she'd have to sit by back there like a prop and behave herself and she and she couldn't handle it they were routine they were rooting against America I mean when they talked about alone unemployment numbers for African Americans and minorities why not stand up and clap for that because they they can't abide anything this president says even when it's things that normally everyone would welcome and that's one thing I think it's it's really notable about the speech the ratio of outrage it caused among the opposition you know on Twitter on cable TV and in the hall and the way most people receive it I think it's a vast you know because I'm sitting there is conservative once the limit limit government event basketball on those sort of things there's almost nothing for me is a very center of speech right planting trees going to Mars you know the research to support extremely premature babies and that was a really moving moment I'm among many from the gallery and so most people that the second strike in this on reasonable as striking as entirely reasonable or welcome so they can deal why did the speaker house can happen rip up the speech this is what we have one listener described trump this way after the St unit rasta Nancy pollicis little snack and I thought this was pretty good he he's like human so the impact the fall he he brings out in people who they truly are in sort of a remarkable way they can't even help themselves and as you're describing Nancy Pelosi this cool calm collected this passionate you know Jeff feel general and but then he throws a temper tantrum and then she doubles down on explaining the temper tantrum in a way that portrayed her as venal and petty in about her where you just said the president give a speech about you in this country and its future and that's not a pretty good contra that's not a very good contrast for the Democrats yeah and it just when when people try and think they're reacting to trump intro and a champion way

Arizona teacher strike: Union boss warns walkout could be 'long haul'
"So if you remember how it went. Read for read said, we wanna raise the governor said, you know, what you're right. So he went to the legislature, president of the Senate speaker house and said can we get this done? And they said, you know, what we can get it done. We're gonna get them the twenty percent they've asked for over three years. We're going to do it. So the governor came back a couple of days later and said you're going to get the raise. Well, Joe Thomas who had taken over the movement by then who is the head of the unions in Arizona week as they are. And Noah carve, Ellis, the self socialist and guiding Derrick Harris was no longer here. Rebecca Garelli on these red. Fred people said, we don't believe you, Mr. governor, Mr. MRs legislators, we don't believe you. So we're going to walk out of school anyway, and they did seventy thousand people strong. And a lot of you don't know this, and I can't drive this home enough. The legislature worked on a budget that over a three year period gives teachers at twenty percent raise half of it in year one. And they were working on passing this budget until the wee hours of the morning. Do you know that leadership of red? Fred Joe Thomas, Noah, Carvalhas, Derrick Harris, all of them with their friends and in the democratic caucus in both the house and the Senate tried to kill that budget. Do you know that they want a governor Ducey gone so badly that they tried to kill the twenty percent raises for the teachers? So they could say it never happened. Like, they said it wasn't going to. And I will I will respectfully cast out the invitation one more time Joe Thomas. Derrick Harris has gone Joe Thomas miss corral. Noah Corvallis, any of the leaders of Red Front, even the new one J Budo any of you out there if I'm lying about this. Please call me out send me an Email. I will read your E mail verbatim on the air. You tried to kill the budget. You tried to stop the raises from going through to the wee hours of the morning. And when the Republicans passed it anyway, Joe Thomas ran to a podium and congratulated the teachers in attendance saying that it wasn't the dirtbag legislature or the dirtbag governor that got it done. It was the teachers in attendance that got this done. Did he tell those teachers in attendance that he was working behind the scenes to try to kill the budget? Did they do that? They didn't they didn't. Well, one of their five demands was no new tax cuts. Now, why in the world at teacher organization as long as they're getting the increases they asked for give a damn about tax cuts shows, you why this political I'm bringing all of this up because tomorrow is the day. Day. Tomorrow is debate in the legislature on a couple of tax cut measures. And they have been red. Fred has been imploring teachers to leave school. Take the day off sign up to speak in the legislative sessions in the committees. So that their two minutes can be heard and they can show their protest. Now, how many teachers are going to do this? I don't know. But if I were you, and I had a student or a grand son or daughter in the valley schools. I would be asking the administration my kid's classrooms going to double in size because teachers are taking the day off. Are you calling in a a more than usual amount of substitute teachers because teachers are taking the day off? If they can question you if they can come after you and ask you why you're taking your child out of school to excuse an absence. You certainly can do it for a teacher. Why are you taking the day off? Well, that's your business. Well, I tried saying that about my students when I was taking my student out of school. And I said, it's none of your business. Why I'm taking my kid out? And you made me explainer was an unexcused absence. I'm not trying to set up a war between teachers, and parents, I'm saying that the teachers and parents should be working together and red Fred claims, they're all about the students. Well, if you're walking out of school to go to a committee hearing in the legislature, you're ignoring the children. Now, your argument is going to be long term. It's better for the children. Well, that's what you have lobbyists for you pay. Joe you pay Joe a lot of money. He makes a lot of money to lobby on your behalf. Let him go to the legislature and state your case, you're gonna take schooltime off really. And how about May Day. Why don't some of you start asking your kids what they know about red? Fred what their teachers are saying about red. Fred, why don't you start asking in your school if the principal and the administration is going to give excused absences to teachers on may first or May Day to walk out in. Solidarity with teachers across the country. Maybe if I were you I'd try to find that out. Contractually? They're not allowed to do that. If they do they are in violation of the verbiage of their contract and could lose their jobs. I am in favour of teacher raises fair teacher compensation. I admire the job that teachers do across the board. Even if you're in support of red, Fred if you're a good teacher. Thank you for the great job you do. But if you're walking off the job for political reasons, you are ignoring the very students you claim to be fighting for and we haven't even gotten into and probably don't have time to get into the strong arm bully tactics behind the scenes because tomorrow is Wednesday. Tomorrow's the day that all teachers are supposed to wear red. And if you're one of the teachers that dare not wear red man, they write your name down. You're not a team player. You're not with us. You're against us. It's like being in high school all over again. It's the breakfast club all over again. That's what red Red's turned into. That's what they've become. I've dared them. I've challenged come on the show. Call me a liar proved me, I'm lying. I'll admit I'm wrong if I'm wrong. They haven't said word one they've gone underground. They have tried to. Hide from me. They've tried to hide from you. If they're so great if they're on the side of
