Patrick Howard: The Architect of Bleeding Edge Poker Strategies

"The first question that i want to ask you. As you mentioned stripping out the extraneous stuff reducing the complexity so that everything's more simple. Why value simple over complexity. Because this is something that i see poker world where like. I'm always trying to press my guys to simplify so that they can execute and they're always like rebelling and trying to increase the complexity and then they just failed to execute so like why did you value simplicity or was this an intuitive thing or was it a conclusion that you've come to. I guess it was fairly intuitive for me. I've always valued simplicity a lot. And i think the reason i value simplicity over complexity is because when your decision making processes too complicated a lot of times what happens especially under pressure like when there's a lot of money on the line is your whole framework just falls apart and what you end up doing is actually just surrendering to whatever your cognitive biases wanted you to do. In the first place. And you're not actually using what you know at all. So i would actually rather take a slightly less accurate strategy that can execute simply and consistently than a more complicated strategy which might be more accurate in theory but then it completely falls apart. A certain percentage of the time. And i make a huge mistake so like a lot of my. Coaching is more like trying to eliminate mistakes. Big mistakes from players games and accepting you know more than average smaller mistakes. That don't really even matter too much in the grand scheme of things. Yeah it's like the difference between like a tesla has something like twenty parts and a typical car has like two hundred and you have two hundred different parts. You have so many different Failure points for your vehicle so like something breaks like you. Just it's off the road more than it's on the road and tesla like one thing breaks like the you can. There's just fewer parts to manage and so the more parts that you have to a strategy you have more failure points and the more likely it is to break one of those parts and then also you know you mentioned the cognitive biases in like in coaching. The way that i do structure most of my private coaching like listening to plan explained videos. And then giving feedback in high frequency spots. That i think move the needle just listening to my students all process right and one thing that i see pop up. It's like very it's almost comical. How like something will happen. That's unexpected in a hand and so like my student will have a plan. Something unexpected happens and then all of a sudden they just fall apart because like they don't have a plan and all of and now. It's like well i would call here if i had a club right. And it's like you feel that's my favorite right like they feel this emotion and then like now. They're just searching for a narrative that makes sense to justify this emotional decision. That's clearly biased. Right and like you to see it at like even high level players. It's like well. I didn't expect this. Well maybe i would call. If i have a spate is like no like you really this whole hand hinges on whether or not you have a fucking spayed or not like let's be real you know but it just happens you know we're human beings and like we have to accept that were human beings where emotional creatures and we're just biased. The other thing with poker is a lot of times like in practice. The solution to a hand does end up becoming pretty simple because everything usually hinges on a concept that i call the equity threshold so basically you have to concepts in poker. That are really important. Mandatory defense frequency optimal bluffing frequency. And those are just based on like the size of the bat that you choose the pot odds that you're giving to your opponent and like so. A lot of people are used to these days studying. Gto solutions where the computers balancing everything perfectly. It's exactly sitting on these equity thresholds and the only thing that it can really do to gain an edge is like go deep into these like crazy little blocker effects and you know like most of that stuff in an actual real poker scenario. Just not doesn't even matter Usually and this is where the data comes in your opponents going to be over folding on the river. Or he's gonna be Over bluffing or under bluffing and like what actually happens. When that is the case is if someone is overbought thing you end up just calling all your boss. Catcher is usually If somebody's over folding you typically do always fire a bluff if you like to have no showdown value. So that's i think why things end up becoming pretty simple in practice a lot of the time because of that equity threshold

Democrats Panic As Hispanic Voters Leave the Party

"Democrats panic asian voters. Leave the party. What are the trends that we are seeing. And why does it matter. Why is it so important okay. So you've got newt. Gingrich trending on twitter. Because he's he's spouting off about replacement ideology which is sprint. Conspiracy theorist for for far right trolls on the internet. No actually democrats admitted that they are pro demographic replacement. Why does any of this surprise us when we have things like. Crt raging throughout our institutions especially our schools that are essentially anti white racialist marxism. Why should be. Why should we be surprised that there's such a strong anti white sentiment within the democrat community. That they are cheering and they have been for years by the way. We're just sort of finally. it's week we call it the great awakening of america to the weakness so we are becoming awake to the wo- kness so we're not not replacement some fringe thing. I mean they're just really proud about it but this is the great irony of it now. I am very anti illegal immigration. I'm actually very in favor of decreasing legal immigration. I think one point two million legals is far too much. So let's take that down by like half if not three chords. I'm not even kidding. I think they're good immigrants. And then there are not so good immigrants and i think illegal immigration is an absolute travesty. Nevertheless sweet irony of all of this and we saw this recently with the cuban crisis that has erupted that the democrats are very happy to take future democrat. Voters or who they think are going to be democrat voters from the northern triangle nicaragua salvador honduras guatemala for mexico. They're very happy to take those immigrants and they're very happy to basically make claims that the border is totally under control. But it's not because actually they're playing along gay. They call that replacement theory or ideology. It's total garbage. It's actually just calling a spate of spayed. We know what they're up to. We know what it is and yet look at these headlights. Is there from today. Folks biden tries to stem the alarming flow of minority voters away from democrats ahead of midterm elections. That's from the washington examiner. Pj media democrats panic as latinos and asian voters. Leave the party. How about the atlantic voters who could turn california read the state. Gop comeback runs through latino communities.

Which Walt Disney World Rides Are Better at Night

"Going to talk about. What are the best rides to ride at night in each park and a long time ago. I think we did an episode on disney after dark. But this time we're going to focus in on rides and i would thank important. There's certain things well. There's some other stuff. That's cool at night like world showcase and you know some areas with cool mood lighting like tomorrowland's pretty cool at night minus the speed with yesterday land but there are certain rides that really shine at night much more so than others. So we're going to dive into that. We will go park by park like we'd like to go i think. Do you have a park. you'd like to start with magic kingdom. Of course the classics also has some of the most i would say has the most rides. Yeah it also because you know me. I actually made a list class so and it does have the most rides. I think are extra special at night. Let's start with you. Why don't you tell me what would be your first ride. That add magic kingdom that you think i think we're saying is different and or better at night. No one ever tells me anything. So i don't really have a list but i like more off the top of your head. I like tomorrowland at night. Because it's more not spacey. But just i don't know it's it's cooler at night. I like the people mover at night. Tomorrowland transit authority. I think that's really fun to do at night. Why do you think it's fun to do at night versus the day okay. Do you like it better at night. Yes why because we'll i just like the night better in general but i on. It's like darker upside and so you almost get to see more of borland as it's cooler because you can see more when it's not so light and blinding and you're just kind of high and annoyed. I would actually agree. That tomorrowland itself is better at nice way better at night in the day. It's not bad it's it's sort of unawed land in the day it doesn't come together as well as the other lands do in terms of a sort of theme look and feel it's all concrete it's a bit scattered. It's got a bunch of random neon signs even stitches. Great escape sorta still sitting there but at night when the sort of neon and spay slate stuff. We consider future. Like you know when you see movies. That's it does look better night. There's the new tomorrowland entrance sign. So yeah i would agree.

How Running Slowly in Training Can Impact Your Ability to Run Fast

"Slow is technically hotter but what it does allow is. It's easy to relax mentally and physically to become aware of that fade back from what's going on in your body. Some of these people out there are going around training with a lot of tension which doesn't allow the feedback which doesn't allow them to make small changes and notice any of these changes while they're doing all of running. My first point that i wanted to cover was why if you can't run slowly like really slowly with efficiency and being really relaxed with your muscles how that is impacting your performance at running at foster spayed. Well first off if you can't run slowly comfortably and really relaxed. Then there's a few things going on there and the first thing we're going to talk about is tension so if you'll run retention and you can't relax then how you going to be able to get more energy more accuracy and more feedback when you are running slow all fast or doing anything that you do in your life so when we look at an example of great african runners you know and they're out for a jog and you can google and find these amazing kenyans going for a run together as a group and they running five to six minute as or non minute miles when they could run a marathon in two hours just two hours that they easy runny. Soya relaxed that you can see how relaxed they are. They laughing they almost look. They'd running on the spot and there's no effort whatsoever in have run. The arms are relaxed. You could say all of their muscles bang loose. They mon is loose. Obviously they they happy jovial and they able to do this in a really relaxed state in every sense of the word of relaxing. Mentally and physically.

How COVID accelerated a 20-year surge in demand for pets

"The pandemic is driving up demand for pets. There's an expert out there who says there was already a growing demand for pets, particularly dogs You're about to hear from Mark Cushing. He's the CEO of the Animal Policy group. He's the author of a book called Pet Nation. The Love Affair that changed America. And here's what he says is causing all of this is what he told Yahoo News. The truth is covert accelerated, but it just reflects what's been a 20 year, Serge And demand for Pat's particularly dogs. Adam and we have a shortage. I put the shore aged between 1 to 2 million dogs per year, forcing us to go overseas to some pretty rough neighborhoods. The supply needs. Who knew wanted two million shortage a year there were importing so this the extent that we have to go overseas to get them. I mean, we always thought that you're no spaying and neuter and the shelters are full and right. Well, that kind of might be the case. Because we drilled down a little bit deeper right now, and Cushing says that there's a network of animal shelters all across the U. S. And they shared dogs with each other. So when one shelter runs out, another shelter sends more. There are pockets in the deep South, Lower Midwest in southwest for shelters are full of animals. Most shelters air out of dogs. By noon on Saturday, and I'd say in the Greater New York area if you're looking for a dog, you better get there on Thursday or Friday. Shelters supply about 25% of all dogs annually. And so the issue isn't the fact that shelters are chock full when people don't want a shelter, puppy. No, no, The issue is there just aren't enough dogs. Southern shelter. Send dogs to the Northeast East. Tennessee Feeds Buffalo, Alabama, please. New Jersey, Mississippi feeds Minneapolis. Ella feeds Porter Ryan from originally in Seattle. So there's kind of a canine freedom train ad hoc economy here a sufficient But it's reflecting the fact that the shelter's particularly above the Mason Dixon line, and anybody remembers that phrase don't have dogs. So Christina they're moving dogs from shelter to shelter all across America, because some have greater demand than others. And why didn't we get into the pet industry? Why did we not invest in pet supplies? Good. Because you know how many supplies come with a pet? Well, you know, because you're getting a second one. Sure do. We're going to have double the supplies, double beds, the pooper scooper, the whole everything right? But even all the ancillary businesses that have cropped up and popped up because of that there are pet cemeteries. Right. There are people who all they do is take care of pets of wealthy people. That's all they do. There's a travel website that if you want to go stay in a beautiful home in Paris and take care of someone's poodle. You could do that for free. So just all you have to do is take care of the rest. All you have to do is take care of their pets. It's pet sitters like international or something and you go stay for free anywhere and take care of someone's lab. Oh, that's not

Hug taught him how many has never looked better from the. Toronto's you look terrific today hugging Ka. That's the best I can but nausea to courtney love a band hall. At the moment we are in one. But we're going to get out of these we're GONNA roy stick fatty hiking winners. Send us only away from Josie. Now we know where we started. Tweet we stop at Joseph's track report the prohibit loss. Wait let's let's recap these second he said. You gotta be gotta be pies on spayed. Di Di all were. And they'll be coming off the route of the middle of the track. Josie absolutely not last week Josie placed hammers. She got something for this. Well hopefully we can get something Roy this week as well look ask seeks maters. We'd go at a little bit. Further soft seeks at the moment so expecting fifteen meals on Thursday fraud. I expecting I Ryan but Saturday expecting zero to six meals a gain so I think we're going to be in that soft seek seven Ryan Account. Expect these track to draw it really interesting to get further off the rile. Not so much the case he really own speed again but even horses. Just on the riles or a big advantage. When it goes eight six made is in the soft six Ryan. So don't be surprised. If the riles are the place to be. Look back to rile fullback rows. You could probably still win so darn expecting to get too far off. The fence are now. That's the pattern that was last week. And you sort of Virginia again. This week I think would be the case this week. Woy think they might go for horses. They're hard up against the rows one-two-three lines this Saturday. The Guy. We've heard that I very good Josie. Let's jump into the rights now. I rice. We're going to have a look at of course is the Tankard. I've a twenty four hundred metres very elegant. You're five and deservedly so to five followed in the market village. That five dollars Mugabe does muster g non does Mirage dancer in southern France both thirteen dollars tariff at twenty three dance area twenty-six truth at thirty one dollars Josie. We'll go to you and the map here. Really Secular Fahey woolley done. There's a lot of speed on Piper. Roy think very elegant will roll forward. We saw her roll forward last seven days ago when she was just beaming boy a dive. I think they'll roll forward John McCain take deposition Angel Truth Going forward I think four nail you'd expect to be at its fetus. Mugabe possibly could go forward. I think now it's had its second. Go at twenty four hundred meters. It could possibly roll forward. And there's a few days that just don't have the yearly gates paid to be able to do that with very elegant fourth. This time last year she was fourth option. One the CEO. She went really well. I think they said something really. Well spoke about that Rice where she finds finished second to die. He's a superstar. We spoke with these inform. One hundred and twenty-five die have absolutely gone extremely slow in that Rice lost weight but twenty two or three to eleven to seek time clearly the best laws four hundred lost two hundred of the die by far just close to half a second best boycot or. I think she'll win. I think she'll roll forward. John macrobiotic control the rice and she'll be two affiliates. Yea won this race last year. Two dollars sixty seven to a dollar sixty but that was off the back of winning the brain but somewhat unlucky in Australia Cup with issues. He's not going as well for me. Plus doesn't have the tactical advantage that very elegant will have always very elegant in the tankard. She proved a class. Last docked ships loomed up. It was a terrific Roy. Thomas macron Donna. Because he was able to take it up. A heated flat spot very elegant nosing front about he was able to fought back and Buddha. A love the way she held and she backed up once before that was from the white fool. Obviously into the Oxygen Victoria. Sh we know she's a two thousand four hundred made a win in the. She's charrier off by very elegant and I think rolling forward outside of Angel of truth or couldn't imagine she'd give up that advantage and get into a NAS rhythm and then settle for the twenty four hundred Mehta Gallup with that Mirage dancer and Moussagy. I think Mr. Jeez the best at solder in this field. He beat southern France over in Europe when they last met day. And I up. Winning these runs behind master on was terrific last dot. Ob It on a heavy non draw surface. He could improve out of the Ground Ivy. These trip most ability. He's not going as well Mugabe wait got group three. He comes up another level he so it's very elegant rice to win. Technically he bought oil Weiss. I look for a broad from one of these jockeys to get rolling at the item. I can take away that breeds and that turn of foot from very elegant and it might be the Rod on Moussagy. Just quickly you did mention. It was a really good. Pick up to mention that she did back up in the visa off the white full she actually filed she seven so there is. There's a slight knock. It could be that. Maybe she doesn't back up. She needs some link. Between Iran's bought. The profile was perfect but are just want to punish that you mentioned it so. It's really good to cy that she has backed up before she rented finished seventh in the works and she was four dollars. It was a foul issue variety wrong. That's the case. I think that animated well You guys know nothing more than when you hit the sign. That horse especially in a group want now. Let's have a look at the voluntary. Well I'll tell you what we're GONNA shorter Ye. Gentlemen Don Wait Funds. Ta Adults Seventy Five. So I'm interested. He chance they probably don't four. Forty MARKET GETS FROM THE PAINTINGS. Twelve bucks for say no and Missile Mantra. Both Iden- Does as got twenty shot about twenty. Six game of thrones. Twenty seven nudge. Forty six dollars and then just over the page aspect ratio. Best of the rest at sixty one dollars Josie funster very short but is justified. I think so. I think she's an absolute potential superstar. If she's not already there just with the Matt I think she had the barrel forward but again not a lot of speed on pipe. Pontes aspect ratio. I think we'll go forward and here. I think where the rights can be won or lost. I think that he's talked to clearly. Have between them they both exceptional phillies hard to knock either of them. But I think our probably roll forward as well and I just don't know where the problem beale has that tactical speed to be able to do that. Third up he fund star in the spring on the floor knocking off probably'll it was a dollar seventy four or five hundred one three and a half links. I just think these rice. It's up so much like that Rice They went extremely slow. Start yes fun. Style was in the advantage position and just had the technically vintage probably it was pretty good ren very close to debate and link not even that but they've come home twenty five twelve thirty four. That was the best of the die by a significant margin. They would've won the Kumo. They used to run the Cornell if they decided to run. They've got panels on the wrist. They got panels on the is the too serious racehorses going forward with both of them but I think fund star will have the tactical advantage and she's an absolute beauty. She will be but the last question overdrawn barrier right. She's she'll be in two minds early doors where the row. Ford and talking. Just come back and rod for a little bit of luck. I think that plays into the hands of probably joining soda. A breach of the China of probably Siamese. She's not based on a wet track in which funds stop later on last stat and she was able to technically outlawed on that occasion. But I love the white probably going fishy. V that she's had she's GonNa run a good tooth estimators. She can jump and lane close out and be wrought on fun styles hammer wherever she wants to sit in this field. These are clearly the 2-based horses in this race by five and ninety bad luck will bring one of these two undone because missile mantra as IAGO. Who won the Kimball Grind classic an Old Sisa painted and shout the Bio? Come through that time rice. This is another level up to Probably'll and found status. I based on that inside a barrier Kerrin mcevoy. If you're watching go and watch you'll lasting group one winners might and try and get to means Barack Obama. You just seen a bit of a hall. At the moment the basting could do back much all of my best rods to get out of that. And it'd be nice and shop for a big dialogue roading PROBAB- bill and can you get rotten. Big Fan Star. The Origins of the Ouija Board

"I've been investigating the paranormal world and metaphysical world for the past couple of weeks yesterday. I reviewed rain. Clervoy end and me a psychic and owner of Psychic Boutique here in Ashland Oregon and I asked him a question about a Ouija board. Got a really interesting answer so I thought it would only be appropriate to store in today's podcast about of Ouija board in the small seaside town of Dungeon a spay. The bodies of seventy five year old Eric Warden to seventy two year old life billboard were found on the beach without a mark on either body their clothes were so would sea water. An autopsy reported indicated. That water was found in their lungs. The bodies were discovered by a jogger whose tracks were the only ones found on the beach when the police arrived locals testified that the couple were often seen walking the beach. At twilight. The couple's adult son Clayton Ward. Came up from California but after three weeks of intense investigation no suspects were revealed and Clayton had to get back to his job as technology specialist for the Silicon valley giant apple but his parting comment to the Dungeness Bay. Police was when he returned he'd be able to identify the murder of his parents in eighteen. Ninety one a patent was granted to Elisha bond for the OUIJA board but one of the first mentions of the method used with the Ouija board is found in Asia around eleven hundred eighty in historical documents from that era but the design we know today was based on the talking boards of Ohio produced by Charles Kenner following the American civil war. Mediums did significant business in presumably allowing survivors to contact lost relatives. But talking board would be created named in Baltimore Maryland in eighteen ninety but the use of talking bores was so common in eighteen. Eighty six that. The News reported the phenomena as taking over the spiritualist camps in Ohio. Six months after his first visit to Dungeness Bay Clayton more return with a list of clues. He assured police that if followed would lead them to the murder of his. Paris seven days later after following the various clues. Police brought in Steve Hawks. The grounds keeper employed by the wards who under intense interrogation confessed to the drowning of the couple. He claimed that Eric had kept a large amount of cash in a safe that he planned on taking it. He was unable to explain how he was going to get into the safe. However when asked by the police where he got the clues Clayton Ward replied that he belong to a small group that used the Ouija board to solve crimes and when his father was contacted. His father's spirit told him. Steve had knocked him unconscious and then dragged them into the waves thinking they would be washed to sea where they would drown but he was on a word that it was low tide and they'd be washed up on the beach with the changing tide. Further Toll Clayton that. If the police went to Steve's house they would find the bloody tire. Iron used to knock them unconscious. Clayton returned to California when the police attempted to contact him with further questions about the clues. They found his address. Non-existent phone number disconnected and no record of employment at the Apple Corporation. The investigator that was brought in on the case discovered that Eric Milroy Ward owned a Ouija board and from a journalist kept learned that they were often the host of a spirit called. Zuzu Richie Board users will tell you that Zuzu is that demon spirit of the Ouija board and that sometimes she becomes protective of those of hold the door open through the board that allows him to enter this world. Where the wards holding the door open for a demon spirit that manifested into the image of protective son that never existed and when they were murdered by their grounds keeper was the door that allowed to pass back and between this world his shot. Explaining Occam's Razor

"Today we're going to discuss a problem solving principle that many of you probably heard of and we've we've definitely referenced on the show before and that is autumn's razor that's right. It's it's one of the classics one of the hits of like the skeptical toolkit and I think it's a really one to get into because it's something that is widely known but in different ways and often To whatever extent it actually does have value. It often gets deployed in ways that do not actually make use of its value right like like an actual razor blade. It may be misused from time to time. Yes now. What one specific place that. I know we've talked about it before. Is that is in the context of Carl? Sagan's recommendations for the the tools of skeptical thinking he these out and one of them is autumn's razor. He writes all comes razor this convenient rule of thumb urges us when faced with two hypotheses that explain the data equally well to choose the simpler. Okay now why did we end up talking about this today? We we were in the studio the other day Discussing upcoming episodes. And you said that. Seth had mentioned this our producer Seth Yeah. I was in here and set a nickel Johnson was working on. A crossword puzzle was at the New York. Times he tells us it was the New York Times And he he asked me how to spell. Autumn is in razor and I took a guess at it and I can't I can't remember. I was correct. I was probably wrong but also probably hit one of the multiple acceptable spell things for razor But anyway we started talking about it and I was like. Oh Yeah we we could do that as an episode and so here we are. I'm very glad we picked this because I think one of my personal favorite genres of of critical thinking is is being skeptical about the tools of skepticism. You know is sometimes people who identify skeptics can ca- can I get a little cocky. You know they get a little too sure of themselves about what the reasoning tools they use and it's worth putting those tools to the test. Giving them a closer look. Yeah absolutely now I have to say I definitely remember. The first time I encountered the concept of outcomes raise or at least the first time I encountered it and it on some level stuck with me and that was when viewed the Nineteen ninety-seven film adaptation of Carl Sagan's novel contact the movie. I can't watch without crying. Oh Yeah Yeah Yeah well. Why does it make you cry? Oh God there's no point especially the first part where you know it. Zooms out from the earth and you're hearing the radio signals go back in time and then and then it shows the young. L. E. Airway experimenting with the Ham Radio and her dad's helping her and get so emotional. Yeah Yeah it's it's been a very long I. I haven't seen it since initially came out and in fact the main thing I remember from it is seen in which jodie foster's character. Eleanor Airway has having this conversation with Matthew mcconaughey as character. Who How old was Matthew mcconaughey at this point? I don't even know how old he is. Now is this ageless demon but anyway. Here's this character He's scared Palmer. Joss in the scene in question foster's character brings up autumn's razor in a discussion on the nature of God she. She says well which is ultimately the simpler hypothesis that an all powerful God exists or the human beings made got up in order to feel better about things and then this ultimately comes back around is kind of flipped on her later on film regarding her characters encounter with an extraterrestrial intelligence right. Is it more likely that she really had the experience? She thinks she had with With all these aliens or that. She like hallucinated. Something that would give her emotional closure. Yeah and so. Yeah I think I was in high school at the time so it was. It was interesting concept especially in the context of of atheism verses of faith in a creator deity inserted to suddenly have this tool from the chest. Skeptical thinking just thrown up on the table and you and seemingly used by both sides. Well Yeah I think this is funny. This is a great example because it highlights some of the most common features of all comes razor as it is actually used to like. It's often invoked in a kind of fuzzy way without an objective measure Just kind of invoked to back up your intuitions about the probability of something right but another thing is that this example shows how. It's not always easy to find a way to compare the simplicity of two different propositions like is the existence of God a simple hypothesis or a complicated one that I think that really depends on kind of how you feel about it like like what kind of objective measure can you come up with to evaluate that question right. It's GonNa depend so much on your like your background your culture what you grew up with. And you know how you how you've come to view the possibility of Of God's existence. Is it just kind of the bedrock of your your worldview or is it this thing from the outside that you are contemplating and also how do you view it at like the coherence of the idea? Do you view it as something. That's like That's full of all these little kind of ad hoc accommodations or something that is a holistic coherent Sort of like fact about nature. Yeah you know I it's I I think this is a perfect example. That shows like win. People used the idea volumes razor in a way that is not helpful and doesn't really doesn't really get you any closer to figuring out what's true now if you're if you're still questioning what the concept really means. Don't worry we will get to some. I think some very understandable examples of how it can be a used properly and used improperly. But let's go ahead and just start about the concept itself the the word autumn You know where this comes from. We'll get to the origins of autumn's razor so Oxfam's razor is also known as the principle of parsimony and parsimony means a tendency towards cheapness or frugality. So I like that. It's like the principle of parsimony is like you. You want to be cheap with your with your logic right yeah. I don't need more than two steps of logic between me and the solution. Don't give me one with four or five. And it was named after the Medieval English philosopher William of autumn. Of course William of Arkham So he he lived in the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries from twelve eighty five to either thirteen seven or thirteen forty nine. I've seen different death dates given forum. I've seen different birthdates as well. Eighty seven twelve. Eighty eight looking at That's interesting so he was a prolific scholar. Franciscan friar we'll get more into his ideas in a minute. I you know one thing I've always wondered is where the heck is awesome. I've never heard of that. Well yeah because the word sound has kind of like a remoteness to it. It sounds alien in some ways. Autumn is very much a real place. It is a rural village. In Surrey England. You can look it up online. You can find that the website for the church in Oxfam for example and this area has been occupied since ancient times. It's about a day's ride south west of London and it was the birthplace of the individual who'd come to be known as William Volume now beyond that beyond the fact that he was born here. We don't know a lot about William's life We don't know what his social or family background was or if his native language was French or Middle English. As Paul Vincent Spadea explains in the Cambridge companion to Arkham he was likely given over to the Franciscan order as a young boy. Before the age of fourteen and here Latin would have quickly become his language of not only writing but also just conversation Grey Friars Convent in. London was likely his home convent but later he traveled he visited Avalon he visited Italy and he lived the last two decades of his life in Germany. Now philosophically William was a Nominal List and spayed writes that the two main themes of this for William were the rejection of universals and ontological reduction in these two teams are are not necessarily interconnected like you can you. Could you could believe in one but not the other and vice versa but basically like let's get into what these mate so the first rejection of universals is perhaps best considered and this is very brief and broad Certainly you can find so much written in instead on this topic but basically think of it as a rejection of the tonic idea of the realm of forms. So that idea that all chairs that we might make design and carve a symbol are an attempt to create the perfect chair which doesn't reside in our world but only resides within this realm of forms. So all chairs that we create our like an aspiration for the ideal chair another way. I've thought about it at least as I understood it was. The nominalism is kind of the idea that there is no such thing as a chair. There's only this chair and that chair in this chair over here. There is no chair right like this. This is the kind of the situation gets too. When you you get into the genre classifications of say albums artists or movies. You care a great deal about and someone tries to limit it to a classification and say oh well that's classic rock where that's alternative rock near like. No no no no no. Don't don't try and fit there is there. Is these categories. Do not apply. There is there is only you know whatever. Your band of choice happens to be. There is only tool. There is only primis or whatever right there yeah there. There is only things not category right. Now let's move onto the second theme here. Ontological reduction this is as Britannica defines it quote the metaphysical doctrine that entities of a certain kind are in reality collections or combinations of entities of simpler or more basic kind. I think your classic example here is molecules atoms. Yeah so another example. Here's while our aristotle defined ten categories of objects that might be apprehended by a human mind. These would have been translations vary on on how you wanted to find these but substance quantity quality relative place time attitude condition action and affection. William cut these down to two substance and quality. He's really getting in there. That's the razor. That's what a razor Dutt. Cia slices away. It cuts off the fat and gets down to the meat. Spayed writes quote. Although these two strands of thinking are independent. They are nevertheless often viewed as joint effects of a more fundamental. Concern the principle of parsimony known as Oxfam's razor okay. So we're getting to the razor. Yeah so William. Devoted a lot of energy to arguing against What spade calls the bloated onto logical in inventories of his contemporaries and became well known to his peers for this as such either towards the end of his life or shortly after his death a kind of greatest hits album came out on his thoughts and ideas titled On the Principles of Theology? Now it wasn't actually by William of Arkham but it featured his doctrine as well as verbatim quotes there is no ascribed author either so later generations would often just attribute it to him as well as the notion of outcomes razor however the specific phrase was apparently never actually used by him. He never said autumn in the house. I'M GONNA get the razor out and started carving on some some some some some ideas

C. here's Jeff to puree for years junior Johnson lived a double life under the moon lit sky he worked in the family business evading authorities well making it legal deliveries of moonshine on the weekends he was beloved by the fans of NASCAR winning dozens of races in the nineteen fifties and sixties I know what I got about I got better that I had a lot of Georgia out all but a happy guy they'll be as evil from Daytona international speedway to the Carolina mountains his driving was legendary Johnson drove a souped up for it with a tractor engine he regularly outran police sometimes using what he coined the boot leg turn to escape well what you did you drop to spay renowned real slow and anyway when the drop to do it right side wheel fall from grace you cut it real quick fix and slammed the brakes on and the final distinta right details of his powerful Ford roaring through the mountains late at night looting the law are almost mythical Johnson once came across a couple of local sheriffs who crashed biographer Tom Higgins look around the breasts and lipstick on the caller ID been somewhere they shouldn't bring on the server so junior if you'll give me back the courthouse and sighed muskie and I'll never chose your G. and then also you can buy their reduced owner Richard here Dan ultimately junior rearrange the crates of moonshine and gave the officers arrived the sheriff kept his word and left him alone Robert Glen Johnson junior was born June twenty eighth nineteen thirty one in the North Carolina town of Rhonda his father made moonshine during prohibition and had dozens of stills throughout the countryside junior was driving eleven bootlegging at fourteen he was never caught while driving loads of liquor however federal agents known as revenue orders staked out a family still and arrested him in nineteen fifty five junior went to federal prison in a place like it you gotta get along and treat paper rise are they when you go to bed at Augusta Lysol fail caving around you look if you survive he did and then settled into a prolific career he won fifty races as a driver more than a hundred as an owner and was part of NASCAR's first hall of fame class thirty years after his conviction president Reagan pardoned him for having an illegal still and in two thousand seven North Carolina made sales of his midnight moon legal junior Johnson was eighty eight

"Get started where we always Josie track report. He's focusing on Paknum. Is that Roger Riot true good for for their cap. Mating expecting nightline around saw should be beautiful conditions. A little bit of wind. Fifteen to twenty five says Wesley. So it'll be in their faces in the strike but look twenty-five Kaiser that track is very exposed so you can be partial to a lot of wind but only twenty five. You'll have too much impact but if it does it'll be in a headwind in the strike. Usually we always speak abaout back. Nakas Nakas really. Low percentage apply but they even packing him a little bit. You can swing moored such a long strike. Get your opportunities. So I expect to play fairly daily but not as big a disadvantage being off the spade was a couple of other tracks like awful prices. spayed it's not such a big disadvantage banging packing on the the soft six a drawing soft six. We hope can help these conditions move on the worst of that five and the troops truce off six just going to have have to say this race play. These track plays. I think it's in that because they've obviously had to irrigate heavily throughout the WACO. I just can't imagine come rice my warning that track. He's a fix it from the way that we've got coming up. So this is one of those guys. Josie we talk about it. You can get the older. One is my wife until the day before. Let's apply on the die in. Let's have good advice there are. We have pointed caveat here we're going to cover off plenty of rice from packing them and then we're going to have the group stop. Where else would we stop the sports bed packing them? Cop shows you might not be the the greatest of fields but there is definitely a winner here to be fan and the boys duvall on sacred buys is your fiber to two dollars. Forty five Chapada at six dollars ca calves off at seven dollars credence seven fifty nine dollars. Fifty Midterm Return Twelve Bucks back then the bottom the big awards strapping. Who they're at the doors Josie the Matt Pretty Canaan Valiquette Alec Is? Let's be honest does Ram trucks. y'All want me having a sin south probably get up there. I'm I absolutely the Rondo full with James Locks to go forward meet term probably lost two weeks ago with a capital loss whenever it was to actually go run away to go forward guys horses and usually put some genuine Tampa sacred wise and Chapada. They've got sticky guides. It'd just be interesting. I think Chapada probably goes back sacred on the seven day backup. Wouldn't be surprised if they beat. The bullet sort of went forward and try to find a spot of us even want to be posted. Three Ward Dare nightside with no Kebab imortant just carry much just bought the bulletin go forward and if it does find a spot I think it is the winner or I have marked opted to thirty four. I think the price is pretty good at the moment tales. Forty five dollars fifty. You can get. I think he's got to be Mardi heart debate. I think he's just the raw vine form fourth up here. He's on the quake seven dieback which we love. We ask dying offices. He's very good at many valley. It was only moderate Tampa but hyman about eleven on last week which is pretty good for the die. He's got twenty four hundred meter win at core field backing April and that was in good time ran a terrible light section. But it doesn't matter if you're on like section. It's terrible if you live in front who absolutely ks not may not getting that I am with sacred I I think he's perfectly placed. Twenty five hundred meters. No concern has one of the twenty four caufield teamwork. And he's a really good bit very good Josie and instead you have to give this pushes is wow. You're be very keen on cigarettes yell at the process of live nation. When you look at the field what invading? He tends to pick himself. Lock the backup as well as three eight nine cava facing the braves. It was a solid test to bait rupture who ran quite well in Bendigo Cup on dog running that Benny. CK kept backing behind. Him Wasn't too far beyond him. Control on through that the cows off he loomed to win but then didn't unquote run an ad. It at Ballarat Ballarat sports bit Beller at Cup. So more question Maki's a strong two thousand five hundred for Loyd cows off at that value. He was fourth close. But I can't seem running strong twenty-five and Beta sake replies if you look carry and you're running the best in the rice with the lack of speed I think across in use it and then lock and load after the first four hundred Maracaibo is interesting drawn. Lie He can roll. Fold and hold a Pasi Savvy Oak just court shaw with him but I think Chapada is the is the binding and the reason for that. He's got attach a class in a little bit of expecter about him and I'll side is because he still a young horse trying to form. These Weinstein ranks third against the autumn Sun a group living in Sydney and and then the southern France. He wasn't far off at seven France. who was you know some form of Melbourne Cup? Chance going into that Mobile Cup this year. So he's drawing awkward could but he's got fifty five and a half if he can find tile and get some Cabot Chapada up. Capitalism is a danger to sacred on the backups differently. The debate Vandeweghe because he can in sty. He'll run the two thousand five hundred and he's drawing low and you'll get a soft around. I think the full wakes fresh. He's the value so I'm gonNA clued in time. Rice moldy a little bit lighter. We'll talk to that right. A choice they josie just very quickly. You spoke about the Quick Seven Day backup has backed up. Before Sake reply back it was twelve hundred boy. Mouse Madrid renforce. Enforce was twenty to one side nine on the quick seven day. Backup

"Five that includes all medical spayed neutered testing shots thanks nations Yaxha nation treatment whatever animals in the in the canine line start at one fifty again everything's done they have to be afraid of course to get spayed and neutered we handle a lot of puppies the fact there's not many shelters that have facilities for young puppies to be in there shall be mills still of a big problem Peggy they had been in the past well with getting into the puppy mill area the USDA is taken over a lot of the work I guess trying to make the shelters that do retreat for profit more likely to have good light thing and it's hard because a lot of them I don't care they they look at this from the dollar point of view so the puppy mills puppies a commodity it's not it's not a living creature what it is and there's no long term medical done a lot of the puppy mills because the the again they don't care that's money that they can't put in your pocket so to speak yeah there is so kind people out there that raise certain animals and if it's someone you love and selection there there's nothing wrong with that it's a mass producing I got you yeah just cranking amount correct amount of dollars like your widgets yeah when we adopted our our house cat Brooks see is a great story we went to the can't county animal shelter and we had just put down like a week before a fifteen year old house cat that was just the most loving creatures mauling Hobbs and my wife it had him ever since he was you know probably about three or four months old and he had renal failure and finally you know but he he lived for a long time with that but anyway anyway you know just he stopped eating and when they stop eating you know there you know you can spoon feed him all you want hand eye dropper but sooner or later time to go and so it was time to go and my wife obviously was devastated I'd only known Hobbs for about two or three years at that point I was devastated and we decided we'd wait and a week later my wife says I miss a furry face in the window when we come home I said yeah I know and said well I tell you what let's go Monday out two of the animal shot out can can Adam show in and will will look not going to get a cat we're not coming home with anything we'll just look and see if any anyone jumps out at us right if anyone picks us so we've we've been through the whole round of the cages of the kittens and the cats in older cats and we're looking at an older cat and then from across the room in a cage we'd already looked at these kittens we hear this banging and it was the you know the placards that hang out in front of the cage and have the animal's name and description and whatever and it was Brooks and he just was banging and looking right out through the the cage at us directly is it okay apparently he wants us to give him a second looks we went over there and they opened up the cage and I picked him up first and it was the loudest if the per was like the roar of a seven forty seven airplane and this little kitten I couldn't believe how loud camper was and then I hand into my wife and he puts his his head underneath her chan internal purring in even louder I said okay this one apparently wants to come home with that and you were mentioned the prices and it was it was eighty dollars but they had to they the neutering and he wasn't quite old enough so we had to wait about five days to bring him home so that the prices for feline seventy five dollars or one fifty for dogs considering that you do all the vaccinations and everything else place because we do have exceptions to some because once we get into such as the cruelty court case you can go on for months and sometimes even years before that the court systems will feel comfortable enough to bring it to light so to speak and they stay with us the whole time what I'm saying is that was just for the adoption and them not a role so we had to go to a vet to get all the vaccinations you know that was another yeah like seventy or eighty Bucks yeah so I mean it was much more expensive than what you guys usually do that are so that's that's very reasonable everybody thinks you're.

"Ayuthaya true good for perfect conditions I think a little bit of Brian sort of Wednesday Thursday just takes the main probably not much irrigation we'd love that I think it's going to Rice really well as coalfield does bought it's always an advantage to be on speed in those first one to sorta seven at caulfield it's always an advantage not much we randy the side I think it's GonNa play really straight and really fairly but I always think you've got to be advantageous just on spe does also to get there's a lot of variables in rising but once you back you control sometimes you need some walks on spayed where you want to bake oilfield Saturday very good or on the table at the first of our group we're GONNA rise pagoda so we've got six the thousand guineas used to be on the Wednesday boys now moved of course to the Saturday the last few years and it's just or for the die at fiber here's the first of a number of good often run his foot at two dollars thirty law at five fifty had some good memories of these track all has I missile mantra nine dollars acting hasn't these horse with good acting trae on the trump one of their ten dollars Tenley twelve dollars emerald thirty dollars southbank seventeen dollars Baba's Fox at twenty one on eloquent at twenty six dollars over the Piji Fatal Remember Twenty Six and Sin Edwards Crown at forty on dollars Josie very important here look not a lot of spayed Elliott acting oh go forward we'll go forward as well foot from that White Guy I think he has to be positive obviously there was a lot of talk about the run lost in the guineas prelude where he drew wide with her and he just sort of went back Salak along the LoC somewhat out of the equation expected to be somewhat in the one one way do you go with these rice well a lot of coming out of that is probably which was one boy acting own spate I'm just slightly worried about that rice and I will come out of it there's a lot of narrative sleeping on lucky but he fleet had won the rice boy half link let's do it right now if we'd be getting to thirty of mock to-to-to Seventieth Mock Duck Creek five is getting that but I just think she's going to drift on the I I think he'll get better than the two-thirty on officer if you like her maybe play a little bit lighter in closer to the rice I'm worried about that rice they went in slowly they couldn't break twelve seconds the lost two hundred that worries me about that Rice what do I do I know a lot of holistic coming into that rice will I go for a different form loin the oil eloquent full moines so I found the phone line from Sydney and I'm going with the Homeless Code Emeralds Got Eight and buy some pretty good ones last dot with Fun Star thirty one dollars but was fifty one hundred thirty one got Bayton that track was a little bit Ryan affected that died I went slowly but based lost four hundred two hundred of the dye that Rice to pay Arado who knows a superstar and before that Gobain by Yale she ran really well in the golden rose of a fast a game was really good light four hundred two hundred two different form on Jones agent really know he's done it before with the highest level lava who won the white when it comes around and this why so there's no worries with China Arkan emeralds at the price is ripping bit and I think it will drift on the well Josie interesting side that with would actually opened a twenty into to ten now aptitude thirty so if that continues there will be a drift estee e you in a similar can't wait you think the it can get beat or now that she's the one I wanna Roger Fleet because it's a tug at rice who to run these small I think she's going to be taking on the day the reason unquote last dot cushy drew fifteen I didn't want to give her a gut bossed out and went right back zoomed up sawed them she didn't have room approaching the if she gets out of the long she is them away because she's got an amazing turn foot so she's coming in flying onto the right our little bit she's a short pause because everyone's thinking potential with taint potential she should absolutely one that ornery so she finally draws a guy which is terrific all concur with Josie acting fit will roll for this more pressure on she's drawn a little at and she'll have to use because I'm eloquently locks the row Ford will mica US getting up the hill the first time at the four day southbank joining saw those two will be honest as well tron bucks doc bobby's Fox was closed last doctor on the pint it'll hold so that'll be the first four the interesting roundup will be cited which cran drawn aunt doesn't WanNa get caught going to rocky he wants to come across the bay in the first half dozen would imagine 'cause they're going to look that tape look back that by off this'll be the nature of the beast I'll go quicker early hill then they'll look to back the tempo off law and fleet get the best runs to pays back one eight one back to horses I've got a great turn of foot they classy Ranasinghe the rice they guy to get that sit back off that wall torp Iran and get at at the raw thome that's why I wanna Rod Fleet because she's had that topic coalfield now and she should have won last dot and she's got a lot of upside I'm not worried about the process so I'll be following southbank oil elegant into the rice now the key is here Emerald who gets back but it's a first look at coalfield and she's going to have the wall up with the logs have missile mantra who have her back on he's Roy showed running missile mantra Nice to have got the best turn of foot light by Kenai be close enough from the six fifty two the the three fifteen to build up and sprint with the locks of fleet and yes I law that again and get those beautiful rounds just off that high pressure really so I'm going with fleet on thinks she's got more upside and I recommend she uses that tuna food she'll be happy catch so of course I'm glad this is rice seeks saving I would not want this in the Corey these pretty auburn as open as you'd say rice to thirty five rituals Oregon just more attack when whenever it's worth which is not much let's have a look at rice seven now the coalfield stikes aviles easier five deservedly so those thirty five homes four dollars density area and those fifty gathered chop eleven bucks a dream castle thirty dollars black hotbed showing not backing up it or not paying to win second arrive there at seventy dollars getting those and Chitral Good Humour Twenty Seven Harlem and Asuka debuted at thirty five and sixty seven Josie yes saw matt pretty important he gal H Open Heisman have drawn gates one and two so I think they'll control the gala shop? I think heisman considered so expect getting to roll forward as well as your spayed and I think that's where they'll say it'll and that's where it will play at villiers can probably find fought on the back of my be three pairs back something like that he was back to his best oversee on that Swat we self destruct going back to a bit of a hard track boy rice seven these tracks gonNA firm right up even get back into the good three by that stage maybe there's a knock on that and not saying there is but we will say on Saturday Abed vilius where he really is at on God gala chocolate I thought he was really really good in he's run loss dodd he was thirty wanting to twenty six dollars he'd get beaten by Blackhawk bought bought or this he's ready to rock and roll he's got some big figures when he ran those big fee is probably about a year and a half two years ago our anymore just a bit newly back to that American from week eight one if these holiest goes forward gets a pretty genuine Tampa on I'm dick the white coal for Dole expected to apply arc and he's going to be really hard to bait just quickly would either well Cape of Good Hope time for one hundred twelve I think he will struggle is day. It's an intriguing Gallup we'll be controlled on speed runners for sure Guy Light Truck Fif- now Josie these the holes that you're going with I think heisman gets the best run Ben Mellon was caught in two minds audience think he'd be called and Lonzo Coalfield last outdrawing in authority shooter role folding it costing the rice you had to guy back kief grand and he gave blackout too easy around one eight one back and I think that happen on the ban will be positive on Heisman I think you'll sit outside the late and I think he'll be the catching this but the one that's got the turn of foot in the one that I can trust in the host it's buying the coffee full and sharing that Greg Turner fully Sevilla's coming off a red hot win-loss dot he excels at the mall and a quarter and woody's feet you can trust him and we've been wanting to see at this time in and he's acceleration las dot was good he's a group to win this track and trip and the dream force and also happy clap perform against this is the best form to follow trusting the fiber to sit midfield I'm not going to get caught up in these international hoses Iran Coalfield I have a two thousand made his way there cdn in terms of the speech up but what I can trust from guide seven civilians getting the best round midfield to pay us back and using that turn of foot when there's genuine rolling into that Bain from the six fifty white lit up he he'll get rolling Mike these real test over the two thousand meters but I think villas can climbing light afi or wanted a slightly bigger rises pyeho offered sands lock The boys giving you a copy you can definitely probably we're going to take a break when we come back we're going to have a little bit more group ones at Caulfield and then we're going to go up to see me for they want as well well that's too damn free to go in terms at five dollars coming off that probably win Kubrick non dollars ruckus Carina and Super Seth at thirteen dollars grams well at forty dollars Suba at seven dollars so patch nine hundred express poss- twenty-one Josie a few more on the next project will go to you now for the map and how it's all bay somewhat and rose forty can probably get it now that's a positive fit him if he gets the one but it's also another positive because I think if he gets the one one cannot say dollar saying he and getting in from guiding at all and I think would be posted three ward which again won a huge manage Bot it's not a sensational I one that the camp would want for dollar saying it's going to be a really competitive rice and I think there's a lot between alligator blood and ninety dollars saying I'm going with our saying ESPN profile look was very short in the market lost when it get Bayton well-documented day by me ED or works here in Dallas on has drawn at with Ella Guida blood they story we'll be positive and work up the hill for the first time but I want to try and get across to follow groundswell join me outside your deal be ridden Ford

Weekend Racing Preview: Flemington

"Is a great. I love Flemington. Tom Years paying a warm weather build up to us this Saturday and just love white for is rising and it's basically GonNa say some good offices. Dan The strike which we love a Flemington in but Sydney holds the K. doesn't with the epsom the metro flights dykes. She's pretty skinny but the dive into it first things first the track record four Melbourne and Sydney yet Flemington knowing mate is good for you as estee said beautiful conditions may even need to put some irrigation on he goes Thursday thought it was so so it can be a little tricky. Lamai cave superstar who work. I think it'll play fair. I think Tampa Bay the K. but don't be worried. If your horse his three four ward they have a bit of an advantage especially around the circle. They might blending in the office in the middle of the track case. I don't don't be too stressed if your horse his dream because I think why might be okay the strike races with with this Rice's well. It's the best to be close to wide with. The grain stand inside in middle this week. I think will be the plays. They're a little bit of a disadvantage. We go to rain week at three made his good for again. pervy conditions look. I think on spe deploys debate but I think again. It'll be tamed by related. They might come to the middle of the track at some stage but Arkan buys places fairly fan but if you want at Flemington to worry about the Guy Very Josie now. Won't you guys coming in first before we hit up to see me. We're going to have a look at one. We said we're going to cover auto group one rice and this isn't a group is I hot rice. The GILGO stike center at online at tune on he joined by sunlight so a couple of everest horses they Satori Dettori at six fifty. Now we go from the tar dollars on exhauted iding votto silver nineteen does better Martini twenty-three dot rocky twenty seeks on someone thirty five and I will have the pipeline tile at thirty four Vine Street hundred to one Josie the map and guess what we wanted to always is this one or two awards rights or is something that can produce for van sort of that well racing especially in the last couple of weeks. We'll say that there hasn't been one horses awesome to horse races. We've had a couple of hundred to one to win big rice in getting in Black Look David superstar center aligning sunlight. They hard to knock. They're very very good horses. These rights as we always expect these Rice's up the right. They may not do a lot of work in that fourth. I four hundred five hundred six hundred Justice Zippo in the last six hundred minutes. All I am going with volatile silver so I'm going against the top two for sort of no real apparent reason other other than the fact that I'll just mocked him a little bit bigger than what the markets go to both of them not much but just a little bit bigger. Santa Light Up twelve hundred this run and gene sunlight look hard to knock just thought maybe in that guy known who'd be a bit of a tricky spot for us of Goma bottle Suba strong the guy to. I think that more people debate. Benny Mellon goes on so positive engagement day this is also one is from fifteen point in Perth. We know the horses are very good would Beta horse started called Galaxy Star. She is a stock Oregon. It's going to run a really good rice for nine dollars. You can have a play H. Y. Erica reconvene so I might be the spot to Bay Benny Melon and the piece came if you don't know them they're flowing ten from fifty to twenty percent over there. They come here. They were really really good team. They're pretty good. Deployment of the Horses Oregon. It's got the figures to run up Alto. Jacuzzis coat the Perth bog after getting gets off in this pump and added twenty one and thirty one bucks now for me. Cetera of I'd Love Center and I stopped probably needs the Ron Sung honesty stripe third up. How did we get some pennies drums. He's just come fresh from the role of Alvin show how bag you get a jacket lot that is jammed on the Perth Bandwagon. They're absolutely flying and understand that he's got really good figures you first time. Dan The strike or just law but at that price you happy deformed and have something only joie get that Josie and he's got to the speed. He bought a less Silva dauth rocky on someone son lot set an unusual preparation leading to an everest but you'd listen to Tony mcevoy sighing at she hasn't been fit. You needed the run. Not Everything went well in the code he had gone to Rice him between a Winter Moon Valley to give her another another blow out there. He's been coined on on the track and he's using these rices to get back into again of fitness up to a liberal who run a Moon Valley was outstanding on the non because it was controlled robot nitrous. Nash comes back to her best track Flemington down the strike at the new market the lightning. She is just an absolute star these me and she broke one. One nausea ran one. I twenty five when she won the newmarket. That's unbelievable galloping and she gets to free wheel against as a whole on showed I think she dictates terms and controls it and she's got that kicking turn of foot and she finds a gear at Flemington sunlight from me is the one I wanna be riding. Santa Ana lines interesting steady Boise first up weans were and he's first and second preparation. He hasn't won first up since so he normally takes one. This is a really good rice for him to kick off and get ready for an everest because a locks to travel and stimulate the Beagle. She'll be raw for the ever so it'll be charging. Heim sunlight for me. It's worth noting also sixty kilos. CNN aligned but he's so well in compared to the other who was he's just so well graded and somewhat as you mentioned this quick backup backed up two times before when the magic millions and one the Kumo right back yes. I've been up to sixty to ninety five. It was son opened up three dollars out of money. He's starting to count for absolutely and we talk about this preps Vince Benedetto La Jolla or something in front side. I mean this is clearly. Sit Sit for a second what they're very very good art. Let's turn our attention to the turnbull stakes. They have always mystic journey two dollars seventy looking to Mike and Means Mr quickey at four hundred twenty finch as a Yeoman Capos non box hot fifty kings will drain twelve roster Povich at thirteen very very elegant fourteen dollars trump for fools twenty. Three Bucks can lead the Hawaii State Kentucky Braves at twenty seven dollars Josie. I'll let you pick it up from he the map and how we're going to take one apart you note a Lotta spayed here. I would think a host like Kentucky braise on the backup. It's hot and feet. They should row four and track for foods. We know he's an my hero forward but there's not a lot of speed. I think finch confirmed probably late his back K. W. Day can probably get one one on the time now with I should go forward with that horse. What's mystic journey. I think she's probably going to be posted three war and as I stated in the preview probably not too much of an issue especially because I don't think they're gonNA go overly hod and I think she's the one to seventy in the market as you mentioned wally she's to forty so I think it's a good bit with her. I know she guys two thousand made us for the first time third OP. I recognise is going to be a pay. Run the coax bike but I know that I think this will be a performance without prep. She won the stray. Guineas was sort of a soft tone. She sprinted home. I think it's sort of the Roy sort of set up for her to get two thousand maters look. She ran really well. It's just getting absolutely through the roof in the mcabe. They win two seconds. She couldn't do any more than that so it's a perfect platform nail for to get a two-thirds of maters if he's going to run it. I think the rice suits it. Don't be too worried about or mapped Warburg. I don't think that's an issue I think she's that we are a contract for fools run a massive bryce Oregon if he goes faster than what he did lost out on the backup. He's been sensational on the quick backup before Perth. He can run well bought Music shoop society got or if you got something else I wanna say Mystic Mystic Journey a lover and wish the all the very best and there's nothing wrong with Iran last dot with the gap sick and up about getting better getting fouled at wife why I wanted to say getting again for me to be really counting on mystic journey to run the mall and a quarter for the first time stuck in a wide guide fighting the breeze a little bit slow speed paid Justice Cutler question. She's not the one on one of Rodney's one Rawdon is the warhorse nominees age and it's hard to know what you got to vowed back at Flemington and just couldn't make grammys to quickey finished beside him and just went past him and then a coalfield the other die he was close. He zoomed up in behind him. He's awesome looking for two thousand and I love the backup. He's a Flemington holes but the reason I want. Rodman see strong guy. "Oklahoma telling you folks, I saw that spayed the I'm happy for David, but he's got a show that will preclude him doing these or certainly he'll be on enough that to be solo. But if you have a chance, I don't usually talk by own shows, but Spade Norman Ayob funny show because I know those guys forever, and we kind of you gaps I got gives we feel Gebze, these told us. But the they'll be an interesting show that, but we're talking to Jason Stapleton. Jason would that be the core tenant of your when you were talking earlier about building your brand? If you had one piece of advice, the you can share with your listeners. Can you dig a little deeper on building your brand? What would you say? I, I know Ramsey's paid off everything, you know, Ramsey like he gets to what's, what's the core tenant. What would you tell them the court tenant is that you need, you need to control your income that, that's bottom line, what it is? And the best way you can do that is, is to is to is to have a brand that, that you can use a lot of different ways. So what I work with people on largely is about influence and communication. So how, what, what do I want is first and foremost, which most people can't even answer that? It's like okay, what do you want? What do you want to do? What can you do? Let's do it with me. Okay. I wanna be a billionaire. I wanna wake up. I wanna have a G five at the. Fucking airstrip than if I read an article in Conde nast about Mozambique. I want to be on a plane to have dinner there tonight. That's what I want. All right. Well, I improve my brand get that. Well, the question is this, what do you have to do to get that? Because life is really about you can have anything you want. You just got to know what it costs and be willing to pay the price. So what does it cost to get a g five jet and to do those things, I, I would ask some more specific questions from you about like, what do you want your life to look like like when do you wanna wake up? I want my life to look like even side. Five. I would I would say very first thing that you do is, you know, w ticket prices and, and do. Do I want my male and female stewardesses to be Bradley Cooper and lady? Yeah, I get it to you got to get a little systematic. People and most people are not Dennis Miller. So in your case what we what I would do if you came to me and say, I got some specific goals. We, we would say, okay, we, we want to increase, you know, increase revenue increased cash flow or whatever it is. How are we going to do that? And how are we going? We're going to tailor the brand, or like you've done this many times in your career you've gone from, from doing stand up to television because I was never in pussy when I got to show shot up from on what happens. That'd be a good first goal. Don't be a wuss, when you get cuffed by life because it happens y'all and just be thankful. You didn't get cuffed where Saint Jude's calls in and your kids sick. You know what I mean? Everybody gets their ass kicked by a really good point because I talked about this either today, or yesterday can't remember win, but we talked about this most people see success after it finishes. They look at a guy like you and they say to that guys had what a forty year crown off the thirty forty year career ride that you've been doing this seem so yeah. Yeah. And he's a he's a he's huge. He's still huge. Right..

"Fees through Sunday on spayed neutered dogs due to the extreme overcrowding at the shelter. According to the shelter as of Tuesday. They had two hundred seven dogs housed only one hundred thirty two kennels. Meaning that large dogs are being doubled up and only a handful of small dogs are being held in converted cat enclosures. The waiver applies only two dogs or spayed neutered adoption fees are twenty five dollars for non altered dogs. Cities litter. Five fifty four. I was not going to do the story. But now because we were talking about the dogs. Did you hear about that family in Germany that have their dog sold online because of their unpaid? No this town, I know they seized Etta the pedigree pug because they had unpaid debts, and they sold the dog on EBay for eight hundred fifty dollars to cover the debts, including unpaid taxes, but the worst part of it not the worst. I mean, another sad part of it is the new owner bought the dog says, hey now, I have to pay over two thousand dollars worth of surgeries for this dog. Because you told me the dog was in good health, and it's not. And so now this woman wants the town to reimburse her or the dog and all the procedures. This is sounds like a bad deal all the way down to anybody got to win. No. And not even the poor dog. I dunno. It's crazy story. Okay. So Nickelodeon announcing its kids choice awards nominees for twenty nineteen. I'm always interested in who the kids like. Several country singers among them, Luke Bryan is up for favorite male artist and favorite TV judge for his partnership.

"Welcome back. Everyone to the Doug debate show. And I am here with Monica Laden, president of professional pet sitting and Monica about to talk about something very near. And dear to my heart is a matter of fact for the past fifteen years of the closing on my show. I always say and don't forget to spay and neuter so this is very important. And I thank you for talking to us about a today. Yes. Staying in neutering. I always like to remind everybody that it's not just about sterilization for the Pat. It's not just about making them not being able to produce which is huge. I mean, we have so much, you know, overpopulation, especially in different states that so many pets are looking for home. And that is so vitally important. But the thing that people sometimes forget, which I like to remind them of is the health benefits as well. If you have a pet that is not spayed or neutered that leaves them open to so many different health issues that can be. Fatal and detrimental cheer, Pat. So always remind people, you know, about those for example are female pets if you can spay or neuter a pet by before they're a year of age studies show that you can cut back that chances of having memory tumors and testicular tumors by almost one hundred percent that's making sure your penetrator neuter before they're under a year of age if they're under two years of age, you can almost cut that back by fifty percent after that it's Nolan. Void that the chances are there. Another thing is Pyo maitre Pyo metros in effect infected uterus. It is a extremely it is an extremely bad surgery. Metra can cause an animal to be very very sick lethargy. Really, really bad. They can shero signs of tricking lot peeing allot not eating just overall being ill. But what happens is when they're not being actively Brad. And the, you know, the Oregon just kind of sits there you can get into false, pregnancies. You can get it too many other issues in that era is such a bad infection that oftentimes by the time the owner picks up that there's an issue and gets them in a can oftentimes be a fatal thing. It's an immediate. You have to go to surgery right now you have to get that infection out of there. You have to remove the uterus. And it is a very very difficult surgery for those pets. So it's just something that I like to remind people out on a regular basis. Same things for our male dogs. Testicular tumors can cause a lot of issues for a male pets when they're not. Neutered that becomes a very very high occurrence even also have issues to wear if a male dog has a retained testicle to where both testicles have not dropped. If you do not go in and surgically removed testicle that testicle can form tumors as well. So definitely remember that you know, sterilization for production issues is is so vital in our area. Because overpopulation, but you're not just doing the community service. You're doing your pet service because you really are taking the chances of them having major issues later in life. If you speed them her neuter them at an early age, what thank you very much. It's something that's very important people need to be aware of it's very important to do it obviously to control the population. So that we help decrease the homeless pets the amount of homeless pets out there. But also, there's such an important health factor to it that I don't think a lot of people know about. So I thank you so much. Bring that to our attention and everybody, please spay and.

"Line. We're one of our favorites in. Sort of a resident eagles expert comes on with this Kevin and Gandhi joining us Kevin next time. And we appreciate you hanging out with this. You know, I'm going to be the one that starts a fight him. I think that the bears are going to go out and just whip up on the eagles. So tell me why I'm wrong. I thought I was coming on the show, and it was going to be mean spayed, and then you just have to do it. The best point like the best part about this is I saw Kevin earlier today. Face to face didn't say any of this. Then actually like they consequence. No, I wait till we're separated by a phone line. So my strategy that I'm gonna I'm gonna see you later on. Mother. I can't wait for this game. Honestly because eagles really got nothing to lose. And my philosophy on his whole thing was just get to the playoffs because when you get to the playoffs anything can happen. I think the eagles experience is going to play a role. I think foles and the environment will play a role. I'm curious to see listen, we all know that this is gonna come down to the bears defense trying to dominate dictate. The flow of the game. I'm curious to see how Trubisky handles the biggest game of his career because it is a completely different beast when you're in the playoffs, and you have to move the football. And the eagles defense is getting healthier and healthier and the eagles when you look at their offense in which structure the idea of Darren sproles back the last couple of weeks, it has changed the offense. And I think that the eagles have to take advantage of Darren sproles. Now, do I feel like the eagles are gonna win the game? I feel confident from what I've seen the last couple of weeks. But I also know on the other side this bears defense is more than just the dominance Khalil Mack. They create plays house Trubisky. Gonna create plays against the eagles defense led by Fletcher. Cox Malcolm Jenkins, Kevin. I wonder what your expectations are for foles. Because obviously we've seen him Layton seasons and in playoffs be Saint, Nick. But with the injury to the rib and the pressure of the bears front defensive line again on him. Are you concerned about either mobility or the changes they might have to make to their game plan in order to keep him upright? Oh, heck. Yeah. I'm concerned. Listen when you look at foals is success. He's a guy that creates without thinking. And when I say that I've seen, you know, the the first version Nick foles and Philly when he wasn't thinking he was phenomenal. And then the minute, you know, something starts that getting in the brain processing things, and he sees a defense that's a little structured and disciplined, then some trouble can have it. 'cause you could force a throw. And I think the bears are so disciplined I'm curious to see how he responds with the idea that you know, they're not going buy on the first play. And let's let's face it. When you look at the teams and the defenses foles is faith, you know, the ramp defense has moments front, they get they they've got Aaron Donald dominance there. But there was some question marks around that secondary with the Rams when you look at how you know the teams if the eagles beat would foes phenomenal like where where the eagles have been played authencity enfolds us playing free, but they're not stacked up to what the bears bring. So I expect to see that ball quick release by foles a lot of screens a lot of quick slant. Get it out there to keep the bears defense a little bit on us. And if that works, and you can run a little bit then you could stretch a little bit too al-shabaab. So my question is what are they going to get from, you know, Mike Wallace as he returns after that injury that sidelined him. The majority of seasonal you have that added speed. How are they gonna utilize golden Tate on maybe some six eight yard plays the key chains moving a little bit. If you could do that establish a rhythm early. Then I think the eagles have a chance in a game like this, and how I view Nick foles, I view Nick foles as a we've got the hottest hand because Sinoe let it ride because we've already got our money..
