Angry small businesses: Shake Shack gets money but we don't?
"Yeah let me ask you about companies alike shake shack and Ruth Chriss steak house that were approved so quickly for some loans when it these loans are actually meant for small businesses now as we reported yesterday shake shack gave back the money that they receive for from the P. P. R. P. program but other large chain restaurants have not and so what we explain to our audience why that may have happened I know that shake shack in a statement said that the rules regarding who's eligible for this money and who is not it was very confusing that they ended up going by the number of people they have in their physical locations which ended up being lower than the number of of employees the government said you needed to have to be eligible for the program right so the program was he's a small business relief act to keep people employed and it was directed towards companies with five hundred employees or less but I think part of the number of exceptions in the rules specifically by industry and one of the biggest exceptions was part of the role was for hotels and restaurants and they said as long as you own five hundred people at any one location you can apply for the loans and they still supposedly Max the the lending out at ten billion but the Bruce Chris ended up applying twice and getting twenty billion so there were the biggest exception because of course here is restaurants but there are other companies that you wouldn't think of as small businesses seventy publicly traded companies including one publicly traded company that is in the cruise line business so it's definitely going to be hit well I got a loan from Citi bank and it has a hundred million dollars in cash in the bank besides outside of the PPP morning before applied a hundred billion dollars in in in in the back and so you wouldn't think of that as a small business for a company that should be tapping of fun that's meant for mom and pop businesses local restaurants that don't have access to large capital markets so now the government Congress is looking to sort of re finds this pot of money what do we know about the deal is being hammered out now we're looking at about three hundred billion dollars more for the Spartans the initial estimates for what it might be the one to all the requested yet I document a professor from Chicago booth school of business he said it's seven hundred twenty billion now that was based on companies with five hundred employees are less and the and the hotel industry but hotel restaurant but it's clear now that they're more loopholes even then and we expect well I think that number you can meet all the people who want twenty signed I think it's probably north of seven hundred and the banks or the saying that the amount of applicants they had a line people who were not able were shut out of this first round basically this new money even three hundred billion if you go with a two

Insane continues on this week's episode Senior Editor Jeff Perez and Ice Square off on the Tesla Cyber Truck. Jeff Welcome to the show. Now let's set the stage a little I had this is my third editor head to head battle And it's also of all the first two we've done. We're also about electric vehicles as well. The first one was me versus managing editor Brandon Turkish. where he argued for the Porsche take hand and I argued good for the Tesla Model S? The second one was just last week where Chris argued against the Mustang Mach e r really just the Mustang name and I argued need for it and now here we are once again. I'm on the pro side of the equation. Arguing for the Tesla Cyber Shrek. What side are you taking i? I'm taking the Anti Cyber Truck. Take I guess not. Really the cyber truck has concept but the way everything just went went off the other night with it. Yeah I think that's an important distinction actually and I think it's one people are struggling with because obviously the trucks design is so polarizing alright so like everyone is going to have a reaction to that and I think that's okay because we we say all the time in our car reviews. That design is subjective. Beauty is subjective but but distinct from from just reacting to the design. There was the whole spectacle of the unveiling their are the preorder. There's the you know what's next. Like candice thing even reached production. There are so many questions left unanswered. Honestly this is the first head to head battle where I don't don't feel like I'm on solid ground so I'm going to try my hardest but I feel like anikin looking up at Obi Wan and him telling me not to try it because he's got the higher the ground I'm GonNa try it anyway but you you may slash my legs off with a lightsaber during this conversation. All right before we begin again. Let's tell everyone some facts about the cyber truck just so everyone knows what we're talking about This is Tesla's electric pickup truck You you can call it a concept you can call it a prototype you can. It's probably more accurately just their vision of of a truck. It has crazy design with zero curves and only only flat plains edges and points And that's because it's made out of super hard steel that forms and structural exoskeleton and the steelers so hard that it can't be stamped into complex shapes so can only be folded and used in these kind of flat flab planes or or sheets supposedly has armor level glass although we'll talk about the failed demonstration that happened during the unveiling there's a very simple spartan interior with a big screen and Tesla roadster like steering wheel. That's not actually a wheel As for the specs there's going to be three models a single motor rear wheel drive. Dual motor all wheel drive and try motor all-wheel-drive and the best specs are for the Tri Motor version that one will have five hundred miles of range. Fourteen thousand pound towing capacity thirty five hundred pound payload and zero to sixty time of two point. Nine seconds I think the most shocking SPEC that they released as the pricing this will supposedly have a base price of thirty nine thousand nine hundred dollars for the base model a single Motari wheel drive forty nine thousand nine one hundred four the middle tram dual dual motor motor all wheel drive and sixty nine thousand nine hundred four the tri motor all wheel drive and I think that's I I mean the the forty thousand dollars base prices.

"The Spartans in wolverines fighting it out for a big ten championship. Tim cates. Back insider progressive insurance studios in Los Angeles. Michigan and Michigan state advancing in meeting. Now. The twenty nineteen big ten championship game at the United Center. In chicago. These two interstate teams meeting for the one hundred ninety time all time Michigan leaves the head to head series with one hundred six wins. Michigan state though, one both the head to head meetings. This season February twenty fourth in Ann Arbor, seventy seven to seventy and then eight days ago in east Lansing, Michigan state one again, seventy five sixty three not only winning the game but waiting the big ten regular season title, this rivalry Michigan. Michigan state, great not only in football. But in basketball to Michigan head coach John beeline says could be the best rivalry in all sports. I think he's far as anybody's Michigan. Michigan state fan. It is that it's not as sexy as the Duke North Carolina game. We're we we may have NBA players here. Hollywood star. Hours or whatever. That's okay, show me another place where they got two people in the state. They've been to four final fours in the last ten years. We have four championships. They got more than that in the last ten years. Right. You got gray rivalries everywhere. But not ones that are playing this deep Marsh, not not the ones that say, they they sweep us. We sweep them. We split day. Sweep bus damn they split. It's been a great particularly the last nine years we had to get our thing going a little bit. The first few years were good to us. But after that, we shot we got we got two great programs. It's not a great fair states. Great for college basketball to clean programs. We both have had injuries we still maintain. Our Billy to be good at the postseason. Right. We both have guys go pro allot, we still maintain that. You get good people. You get great support for your administration in these two states and these two universities, and we get great fans and alums Michigan state Spartans twenty seven and six overall. They were the co champions of the big tender in the regular season Tom Izzo steam, the number one seat in. In this big ten tournament after buys in the opening two rounds? Michigan state beat Ohio State in the quarterfinals seventy seven seventy yesterday in the semis. Michigan state with the route over Wisconsin, sixty seventy to fifty five Michigan state led by big ten player of the year. Caches Winston third in the nation in assists. He averages nineteen points per game ends the only player in the country, averaging eighteen points, seven assists and shooting forty percent from three point range. Big man, Nick ward is back and healthy. But still hasn't gotten his legs underneath them in playing just two games since returning from a broken hand Tillman Matt mcquade, they combined for nineteen points per game while six seven Ford Kenny joins is starting to turn heads as a senior as now averaging eight and a half points and nine rebounds per game head coach Tom Izzo, Ken. He's probably been the guy. That's changed. Our teamed throughout the last two and a half months. You know, he is one of our best defenders he is our best rebounder, he is her mom, maybe our best condition guy, and he is really figure. Out how shoot the ball. And does it. With a high percentage and Kenny deserves a lot more than I probably given them. But I think KENNY'S putting himself in a position where there's gonna be some basketball for Kenny after college Michigan state their deep. They're talented, and they know how to win especially in the postseason. They're going to be a tough match up. Again, the third time around for John beeline talking about a team that has just played great basketball all year long played a very demanding schedule the injuries, certainly I feel bad for the the two injuries that they've had the fact is they're playing at a high level rate now like they had they had no injuries. And so you got to you understand you get one of the hall of fame. Coach is incredible at his team's execution on offense and defense, and we haven't played well against them. And that's because they played so well against us. So Bama third time we go we're going to go after the championship. Again, you only get so many chances to win a championship a chance to do it. Right now, we're going to every weekend to win this championship. Because we didn't get the last one Michigan wolverines twenty eight and five over all the number three seed in this big ten tournament. John team led by freshman Ignace bras Davis and his fifteen points per game. The big ten freshman of the year shoot. Forty six percent from the floor. Forty two percent from beyond the arc Jordan pool. Exhibitor Simpson part of Michigan's three guard backward. They combined for twenty one points and seven assists per game. Senior Charles Matthews is healthy and averaging twelve and a half points per game in the middle. John Taskey averaging ten points and seven rebounds per game. This Michigan wolverines team balance an offense and really tough on deepens top three in the country. This is a signature John beeline coached team. I think it's it's pretty consistent with the teams. We've always had low turnovers right team. A lot of skilled guys it will share the ball. We've had over twenty assists. The last two games guys will share the ball a lot of shooters skilled guys a big a big center who. Shoot a little bit. And it just that's that's the identity of many of our place now, and we've got really good. If you compare it to other teams, you all the way back to Darius Morris to Trey Burke, the Derrick Walton to save your Simpson. Great point guards make very good teams. Michigan and Michigan state two teams familiar plan on this stage, the Spartans there's is their seventh appearance in the big ten championship game going for their sixth title while Michigan is going for their third straight big ten tournament title and come in having won ten in a row in tournament. Play coach beeline says there's just something about the postseason and his team's only I could say that must be something. We're doing all year long. It might be mid major mentality way. Before that, you know, how you play the season doesn't mean anything you've got to win your tournament. But I wish that there's nothing intentional here. We're just trying to get better every day. Right. And then I think if you go into tournaments, and you're usually a team that doesn't beat itself during the. Season. Maybe add some success then but this is not intentional. It's just it's just happens. Sometimes should be a good one. It's the battle of Michigan between the Spartans in the wolverines when we come back. We'll get you. Updated on all the games around the conference tournaments that are wrapping up in college basketball in this election Sunday. It's Michigan state and Michigan tip off is coming up shortly. I'm Tim k two you're listening to.

"Here's the voice of the Spartans team. And good evening. Everybody around the great state of Michigan. We're finally back home after playing a lot of road games. And this is a great game to come back to the breslin center to play because it's against maybe if the surprise team of the big ten this aid, the Michigan state's in first place in the big ten that was projected Maryland with a junior point guard a big guy in work so to speak as he was developing this game and Bruno Fernando and a whole bunch of other pieces. You were thank that. Maybe Marilyn though, gifted with a good recruiting class. No matter freshman might take a while to get going. Well, they have taken no time to get going. We walk into this game. Having won eleven straight. They walk into this game having won seven straight and travel league meetings Barnes by a half game in. So you got a couple of top twenty teams one expected to win one should not be seven to one. If you go on paper. But you know, when you. You get right down to it. If you believe in your well coach, and you got some talent who knows? Well, no question about Maryland has both of those saying they are loaded. They have talent. And they have a great coach to one thing. They don't have as experienced, but the experienced they do have comes the probably the most important position and as the point guard and Anthony count. He's a really really good one is it'd be a terrific match up. What he cashes Winston out front. But you're right about Maryland. We wondered who was going to of separate themselves or come out of the middle of the pack and right now, it is Marilyn vying for the top if you would in the conference standings. So you gotta give them a lot of credit. There's a long way to go. But Maryland, ballclub is talented. This is going to be a great one tonight. One of the great games. That we've seen so far both ball clubs have good role players. Both ball types have wonderful play down low. They rebound the heck out of the both these teams, and as you said, this is of the finest point guards for total games. We're going to see anywhere at anytime. I believe that for sure the match ups are almost not identical. But they're right there at every position, and this one is this gonna come down to I believe the fundamentals of basketball who's gonna play harder who's gonna make less mistakes because I think both league ball clubs. I gotta go right at each other reading, I'm reading our Gabay. Starting lineups are presented by arby's. Try arby's. Two for five. Mix and match menu. Today, all your favorite things.

"How long did it last? Well, it depends on on on what you mean by lasting. The the Spartans are rather successful from about seven fifty down to three twenty three sixty two excuse me BC and actually a little before. That say three seventy one BC and the foundation that emerges that allows them to be such a force is their conquest of Messinia. So they have all this land. And they have all of these labors which allows them to articulate their way of life and to be a military power. You deprive them of Messinia, which is what the thieves under apartment on. This did in the second quarter of the fourth century BC. You deprive them of Messinia? And in the process, you are undermining their capacity to put an army of any size into the field. And they never really come back after three seventy one if you mean, by their way of life in Lakonia, and as a kind of backwater something like Disneyland it survives in the later Roman empire. So there's a strong tradition there. There are lots in Lakonia, and there are small number of Sparty. It's many many smaller than there had been in the fifth century, and they continue to lead a life of leisure dedicated to hunting in gymnastics and so forth, but they're completely inconsequential. And one of the reasons that that Sparta the the the Sparta the Hellenistic period and the Roman period is not destroyed is why bother their inconsequential. It's a kind of relic of an earlier age. But the real thing is over when apartment on this freeze Messinia, and it is confirmed at the battle of manzanilla in three sixty two when the Spartans try to make a comeback, and they fight the battle to to a stalemate. So nothing changes Messinia remains independent Arcadia, which had is to the north of spa. Had been organized into a league by palm anonymous and a Sidley city established to the north west of Sparta sort of between an an area to the north of Sparta and Messinia between Sparta and miss any. In other words to the north amount Tiga toss at a place ball megalopolis the big city that remains to. So it's pretty much done for the Spartans in three seventy one and their attempt attempted a comeback in three sixty two fails. So was about a four hundred year wrong. Yeah. Which is pretty good. It's pretty good. When we haven't made it four hundred years yet to have him in. Now, we've got a quite a while to get to that point somebody we throughout this conversation you've been talking about, and I've kind of slipped into it to where we praise and we feel like we have the most in common with Athens. But what's interesting, and you mentioned this in your book is that Sparta figures..

"Heart kicking at the forty five yard line. We should end up with good field position. Not to start with our defensive unit. When they go on the field hard, averaging fifty one seven on the year. Good snap kicks it away. Low line drive spiral. It will go into the end zone on the fly. And Michigan state will take over first and ten from their twenty five yard punt, no return for the Spartans. A little disappointing in the punt there. I think he little excited and just hit a line drive there that went into the end zone Michigan defensively. Let's give you the starting. Look, it'll be pretty pain chased one of it's probably at the outside defenseman, Monet and Salomon or Marshall inside linebackers and Ross Devin Bush in the middle for visual Gill on the outside corners Birkdale, David long safeties Terry kennel, Josh mccown, Mattel us and the viper will be Kelly. Hudson Spartans come out with a working at quarterback and LJ Scott is they're running back. This is his first game since game number two. And he gets the call tries left guard and he gets nowhere win of it stops him a gain of maybe one yard. It'll be second down. LJ? Scott weren't sure whether we were going to see him. He played two games hasn't played since this is his first Kerry sits there second game that came back for his fifth year hoping to. Rekindle a little bit of the magic he had as a sophomore as a junior. He was a little bit of a turnover machine. So we'll see if other sequence that ball out if he hasn't fixed that issue this year is at thirty carries for three yards. Second down nine Spartan for working. Now in the shotgun. Stewart comes and sets it a wing back to throw a working throws in the flat. That's LJ Scott at the thirty to thirty five. Devin Bush, a little late getting over there and Devin Bush a little late getting. Well, just got caught up in the wash there a good. Well executed play by Michigan state to free up LJ Scott in the flat. Fifteen yards on the pass completion kennel MAC Scott out of bounds. But it was. Devin Bush who slow to get up couldn't see whether there was any real contact. He just missed the tackle on Scott. And Kenneth fell down on his face. Both legs went out from under him and he fell face down. But slow getting up now at the twenty nine yard line right in front of the Michigan state bench down on the sideline is Doug harsh. Yeah. Didn't look like match guys. I mean, maybe got the wind knocked out of him. But there was no odd twist, sir. Turns. Woes to the leg. I didn't see anything unusual. Okay. They're still working on him. While they do. Let's tell you that. There is no score here between the Spartans in wolverines we are early in the first quarter. This is Michigan football for some. It's the crunch of lease beneath every step others..

"Jose State Spartans coach. How are you? I'm doing great. How you doing up your twelve thirty tomorrow? At Levi stadium. It is San Jose State Spartans versus army, which to me is has got to be awesome for a coach. Oh, it's going to be amazing being in that venue. You know, just for our players and our fans, you know, we can't wait to play. And obviously we have a big time opponent with army coming in. And they'll have a great crowd with them. And it's just going to be an awesome day for football. How's it been for this game? Because they're different than most teams. They're like navien run the triple option, and that's a different piece to go up against house. Prepping for this isn't good kids. I worked really hard. You know, I think our defensive staff has done a nice job preparing for people all season. Obviously, this one is a whole different animal just their level of execution. Just trying to get everybody with there is in the right place and sit and gas correctly, it's a real challenge. The only question I have is is anyone gonna top the Oklahoma linebacker that twenty eight tackles. I mean that was that's absurd. What he did the other day against against army. You know to me, I, you know, I hope not. More people. I hope we're getting more people to the ball in that. Obviously just tells you how good army is. And how hard they are to defend when they can go into Norman, Oklahoma and take that team to overtime. This is so weird because it's high school like get that whole thing. But I just remember playing DB in highschool against triple option teams. And it was like, oh, this is easy this easy. But then you get like the coach paranoid. They might sneak one over the top like this. This is a team that will sneak one over the top on you here. And there they how do you keep your DVD's? I've always wondered especially at the at your guys is pace where it starts to speed up quite a bit. How do you keep your DVD's locked in on on doing their assignment doing their job? And and making sure they don't rest in and get beat deep receiver. That's the greatest challenge to me of the triple option right is because you have to be so assignment sound and you have to because option football's all based on the offense getting plus one on the defense. Right. So. Your safeties in your secondary has to be tied into the run game. And that's where they're I disappointed out to be so good because the fear of getting one thrown over the top or the threat of it. Especially with this quarterback from army. He can really swing it. And you'll lots of times these triple option teams don't have a great thrower. But this throw it. I mean that makes it even better because I mean, this is a good team. They've beaten Hawaii they took Oklahoma is just to basically they had him on the ropes the whole game. In Norman, the challenge ahead for you guys. Coming into this game is what the biggest thing is just finding a way to play good football. From the start of the game. We haven't done that yet this year, you know, even last week we put together a magical third quarter where we were firing on in all three phases. Offense defense special teams, but we need to do that at the start of the game. And we and especially against this group because you know, they're they're averaging possession is forty minutes per game. Due to the game. They have the ball. So you have to be really efficient offensively, right? You have to make the most of the chance to do you get to try and hopefully get a turnover Steeler possession not way. So it presents a whole different kind of challenges. Just because they're Tyler possession is so significant. What what did it say about your team last week? Because for me, you come off just an absolutely gut wrenching loss against Hawaii in five overtimes. Guys, come out, or you know, Colorado state comes out scores. Twenty eight unanswered first-half points, and you guys put it to them in the third quarter to see them respond, your San Jose State Spartans team respond to that adversity. And obviously the Ken coming up short. But that research has to be so big for, you know, I think so because I think that you were you're seeing us make some progress. Right. And you're. You know, being football games and sustain for longer, and you know, that part of it especially going into halftime down twenty eight. You know, some of our senior spoke to the team Bryson bridges kind of took control that moment. No, offense and defense and brought them all together. And. We kinda we put together a plan of what we had to do the next few possessions. And it went that way. And so I think there definitely is progress. I think how they feel about themselves. Hey, we can do this. Now, we gotta finish it. Right. That's the big thing. Now, we gotta finish it. I mean, how's that message been this week because they obviously responded, and sometimes you you could say the exact perfect thing is a coach. But it just they can't execute it. And you have a guy, you know, light Bryson bridges bring up the team and do that whole thing and they respond. So how do you build off that? How do you get them to understand that like look is it by watching film in Saint see you guys did it or is it you gotta pull back even more. And just be like, look, the more and more. We do our jobs the easier. This will be for ourselves. Yeah. I think it's both those things right. You gotta show themselves. Like what wasn't right and what we need to fix? Then. You gotta show them the good stuff. And like, hey, this is where we're actually shooting in all three phases for really playing really good football for this stretch here. And then this is where we lost our momentum. And this is where we have to make a standard taken back. But you know, in terms of Bryce and talk to the team, or assistant coaches are me, you know, we're always telling the team it's up to them. This is their football team. They're the ones out between the white lines. They're the ones that have to hold each other accountable and push each other in the moment and be there for each other in the mall. It's so, you know, the message I had halftime of the Colorado state game. I said in that first half it just didn't look like a team that's playing for each other. That has to change and to their credit when they came out in the third change that voice you here right now is head coach of the San Jose State Spartans football team. Brent Brennan kind enough to join us. Look losing Bailey gay. There was it was a big blow to you guys because he had absolutely been performing great. But on the flip side, you guys got back Tyler Nevins, your your number one running back for me. You know that was my question two weeks ago to use like is he is he coming back. I think that he is a game changer. He is someone that you build off of in that makes your team even more complete in in getting him back. How big was that last week? It was awesome. And he's such a great kid serious kid. And I think because he's so mature, and he carries himself with kind of this, you know, quiet confidence. Sometimes people think he's you know, junior senior but father's a true sophomore. And there's a lot of learning going on with it. There's a lot of good football left with him. So. It's exciting to see him be back, and what you can contribute as he gets a little more comfortable on the offensive side. What are you looking for, you know, against this army defense, a defense is really active by super sound? They got a couple of playmakers in their secondary. They've got a strong safety nickel outside linebacker hybrid like six to two hundred twenty pounds. You know, he rushes a passer in sachse quarterback covers wide receiver downfield. He's a great tackler. It's gonna be really fun to watch. I think you know. That's you know, like, we mentioned it earlier just making the most of the chances. Most teams are getting about fifty plays a game. That's the craziest thing to think about like just last week on that same field. You're the Niners run almost ninety plays and still get a loss because they couldn't hold onto the ball in against a team like army. I mean, they they put the ball on the ground quite a bit. It's just the amount of times. Do they lose it or not, you know, I feel like I is that something that you guys have harped on this week. Or is it more just? Let's make the sound tackles do your do your job more than anything. It all starts with that. But you know, I think the harder we play them the more effort. You know, you know, our whole thing without effort is hundred hundred hundred miles an hour hundred percent of the time it we can play with that kind of effort. I think those opportunities come there. You know? I think you end up getting chances to get on a loose ball. If we've got eleven guys to the football. And you know, we're Gangtok lean and and making plays out where I think it does create some more opportunities to just swing that turnover battle in our favor. I wanna know like from your perspective just like kind of away from football. But like the the coaching side, you place a service school in army. And I just remember a couple of years. Go navy come into to Spartan stadium. And the first time they did they're rolling down the ramp. And they got the American flags in Mike. This is awesome. Like, what does it mean for you? When you go when you coach up against one of these teams an army and air force a navy. I think it's just really special. You know, we've talked about a lot with our team this week. We just have so much respect for them. Because all those kids wearing that army uniform. They've made a whole different decision than the kids. They go here or anywhere else. Have you know, they they basically said, you know, we're gonna defend your rights to play football and to go to college, and to do whatever, you know, people like to do here in America. And when they're done playing football. They're going to pick up a rifle and go out ghanistan or go to a bunch of really hard places and protect our country. And and do the hard work had takes two to protect our freedom. So we just have so much respect for them. And so I I agree with you. I think it is emotional when you play these teams anyone with any sense of patriotism just had this incredible respect for them. So the choice they've made and what they do for us. No doubt. No doubt. It's it's weird when I play for the nationals, and it was like one of the first games that we played at home that you're in two thousand fourteen one of the army general's was out there, and he saw just how we were in line for the national anthem, and you know, it was kind of very soft and very. Not organized, right? And just to hear what his side of it was from that day on we we listened, and we definitely adjusted. I mean, you ever go to stand there and just go. Wow. Look at them across the way, just in that intimidate, which going that's incredible. Because you see, you know, the actual pride behind when it's national anthem and an army or navy or air force is out there. No doubt. No doubt. It's a total different commitment in total different sense of pride. They have because of the choice they made and what they're doing every day is all about, you know, protecting our country. And I think that's that's an awesome thing. An awesome part of this game mall. I think that's why we'll have a bunch of fanfare to to show that respect and to show that appreciation for these young men that have made the choice to go to West Point. No, I think it's gonna be awesome. I'm going to be out there twelve thirty at Levi stadium, San Jose State versus army coach thanks so much for coming on and spends few minutes spanning a few minutes with us. Hey, thanks for having me love coming on your show. You do a great job. Kevin. And I'll be side of the fellas far out there rudeness on tomorrow. Well, let's just be honest. "In the end zone. Other officials are conferring reggae get the call here. Remember two years ago here Ghazi autos. I sack was a down of the Michigan state quarterback for safety. At the end zone. The pass was illegally touched by number sixty one of the offense that penalty has declined and brings up four thousand. Okay. So cats will. Force Michigan state into a fourth down situation. With three fifteen to go. As the Spartans. They need to push. They need to keep the drive alive and keep their hopes alive. But I remember the cat stopped Michigan on a fourth and one week ago data and one for their own eleven three fifteen to go north western leading by three twenty two to nineteen. Rowdy. Backers Hayward Baxter offset Rosenthal is the fullback. And the work he under center hands it off Hayward. Hayward stacked up didn't get their hold on fourth down at our cats takeover with three Oneida going trae Hartwich who had to leave the game earlier with an injury comes up with the biggest stop of the day for the Wildcats stopping Michigan state on fourth and one what a stand by this. Northwestern defense an entire front seven was right on the line of scrimmage. They did not give an inch. They founded the running back up there. There was no room. There was no crease. There was not an institution had cats. Got a closest thing out too. Big MRs for safety's now can they finish it off right here. Now, I down at the eleven three oh nine to go. At the Michigan state eleven yard line all Roddick that green in motion. Here's the snap to Thorson. Solomon tries to middle. Down inside the seven timeout Spartans with three oh, three left Hetty willa kiss. Michigan state their second. Second time out Ted. I think you look at the last two Michigan state possessions. And if you could play better defense than northwestern has played look at the last one where they had the Tf L. They had the sack force Michigan state into a holding penalty and had this last series where they get nine yards first down. And then they stop them on three play and almost sixty three almost two safeties. It's got to drive the defensive coaches crazy. I mean, they have played so well the defense in these final mentioned it thirty twenty five and they hold them. And then here again, they get their offense the ball on the ten yard line. Second down at six for the Wildcats at the seven key is one time out left for Michigan. He can only stop the clock. One more time at the second in six four yards three. Oh, three on the clock. Second down at six for the Wildcats. The Michigan state seven cats lead twenty two nineteen. Staffed hips. Inside the five reaching the one yard line down inside the one to fifty eight to go timeout. You got I doubt it's going to be. I doubt a goal to go. I think it's a first down is not. Yes, I out at goal. They say third down. I the scoreboard. I think he might be just short great. Zell down its third in less than one and our time out of sick gold. The Spartans that's their last time out. Well, let's see. It is third down and inches for the Wildcats. There is a charge timeout for Michigan state their third and final time out of the half. That will be a thirty second timeout timer. Please reset the game clock for two fifty eight to five eight to fifty remaining to five eight excuse me. What a what a great zone read by Clayton Thorson there on the inside he handed off to psalm involve who makes a also a terrific read, cutting it inside his right guard in his center heads, Rick great north and south almost gets it in. But with that there. Here's the clincher. They burned their last and final timeout. So the game now is in the hands of the tasks they're gonna pound this thing over they got a couple of tries to get it done..
