"Come! Stay down. Stay down! Reported Stay down Cover. Get behind the car. There's hundreds of people scattering everywhere in this block party, man. That is good. Total chaos. It sounds like the streets of Fallujah. That was in Toledo, Ohio. Wow, man. What amazing video. The video is out there. Uh, Wow. What a story, man, and, uh, and heroes running into the gunfire as people are running away. Oh, my gosh. Shooters everywhere. Somebody everybody pulled a gun. Absolute. Chaos. Chaos is not strong enough award. It is 9 37. We do have that video. There's a few f bombs in there. That's why we had to lead a lot of that much. But, you know, you know where it's fly when you're that kind of situation. Yeah. You use what works, but it do have the video on the top of Don show Facebook page. Yeah. So we need to make sure that we have less of those cops. Yeah, that's the city. That should be defunded. Yeah. De funding would have solved that problem. Sure would have because those cops were the issue, right? Absolutely absolutely. Right. Listen, this story about out of the Tanglewood neighbor there, there in South Austin code compliance department, sending out some notices about the tall grass, the sunflowers growing on each side of the sidewalk. Lot of people in the neighborhood. Love it. They do, But they did get a notice. It's a four way stop sign area within. No, these weeds. These sunflowers, you've seen the pictures. Well, that is some of the neighborhoods are pretty angry. The neighborhoods consider this sunflower patch iconic. Yes. Iconic? Yeah. Jessica is in southeast Austin this morning. Hey, Jessica. Good morning, guys who are really great. What's going on? So that there's actually it's part of our city ordinances, chapter 25 Land development coaches that for areas that are considered a visibility right of ways for traffic. That for 25 ft. There can't be any obstruction. If it's really interesting. I think this is an absolute waste of time. But it's very similar to something else. But I'm I've worked on where A person in my district set up a bulletin board and literally on their property in front of their house and code compliance came through. We don't know if like a neighbor called, which was what could have happened with some flowers or Compliance happened to be driving around and just noticed it, But same thing happened because it was an invisibility right away. They make them chop it down. And it was just like a board where people could post during Covid, like Lost dog or Oh, I miss you, or I don't understand, like, Doesn't compliance have better stuff to do than than enforced sunflowers and community bulletin boards. It seems like a real waste of time and money. Well, this for my tax dollars are being spent on I would agree at the current moment. It's a waste of time and money because of all the other issues affecting Austin, Texas, But we do have a code compliance departments and they are hired to enforce the codes and the compliance is that the people calling the city Council to create? Let's not kind of agree with you. I don't agree with you about the bulletin board, though that seems like could be an eyesore, but I mean, if you believe in property rights, what's the big deal? But if you are part of an H O a where everybody's agreed to certain guidelines, maybe they should follow the guidelines. No arguments there seemed and You agreed to have any choice and you should 100% part of the world. But again if this is a traffic hazard, if visibility issues a visibility issue of you know, blocks the line of sight. You don't see a car coming around the corner or coming through. You got a problem upset? We We've all experienced that. Like, what is that Bush doing there? I can't even see around. To be honest. If I own that corner piece of property and my grass was so tall. And it led to a T bone collision and people were hurt and injured. I'd be worried that somebody might try to sue me. You probably have a liability. There may be so, uh, Phillip is an Alan. Dale. Good morning, Philip. Damn sunflowers. Enjoy the show, you know. I'm kind of one of the first things that let my yard go wild and, uh, got sunflowers out there. I've got tons of lantana. Just wild lantana. This popped up and I've got a lot of little piquant peppers. Oh, you're the guy. You're that one guy. How long have you been a Democrat? So how long have you been a Democrat Trying to keep my front yard mood? Philip, if you don't mind. I know you're calling from Hallandale. We're up against the clock here. Don Prior. Has a few questions for you in this interrogation. How long have you been a Democrat? I am not seriously. I'm not a Democrat. Come on here. No, no, no, no, You're you're wrong. You are a Democrat, if you if you let your we are just a yard work. No, no. Listen, Philip, there is some means you're lazy. There is a great you're a Democrat. There is a great environmental.

He then indicated he wanted a separate list not included in that infrastructure package. This is a process called reckons. Affiliation, which would essentially shut Republicans out of the equation. The president then put out a lengthy statement a couple days later on Saturday and essentially said he's backing off that demand. The president may have backed off. But House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in independent Senator Bernie Sanders want reconciliation to go forward away to push other priorities through not included in the infrastructure package. "Do you Austin Police officers break open the window. Pulling the man out just seconds before another explosion. This man definitely has a PD to thank for his life. Today you go. That's in Austin Fire official At the end of that Fox seven news report. Now is two police officers involved in this scene and they were involved in a whole lot more that day and joining us live on the news line here. Ken Cassidy from the Austin Police Association can thank you so much for being here with us. We'd love to know Maura about Chandler Correra and Eddie Pineda. These two officers Great. Thanks for having me on guys. These two young officers that have been over and the Dust Springs area patrolling for three or four years now on That you just played. They saved that gentleman's life. There was about to be burned up in that car. But a few hours after that, Um there was a fox news, Uh, station doing TV out it in Southeast Austin lives. Actually witnessed a pedestrian gets shot seven times on been ran up to them asking for help, and the same two officers about two hours later responded to this call. They were able to apply for turn. It gets to the victim's arms and legs, worries about to bleed out and then also cover his chest with a chest still because he had been shot in the chest. I am an army of one of these things in your career and There's a There's a big thing when you can actually save physically save someone's life. But these officers save two lives in the matter of about three hours. And that's not an exaggeration. Both of these people probably would have died. That man would have been burned up unconscious in that pickup truck. And a man possibly would have bad blood out right there on the street. No question. What a story. This is. Yeah, and it's just amazing. We don't hear enough of these stories, but the officers do stuff like this. Maybe not this extreme day today, but heroic behavior is routine with our police officers. This shooting incident just just illustrates on all sides. What's going on in this town? As far as the increase in crime, the increase in in and shootings we have and and also demonstrating How incredibly crucial it is that we give our police everything they need. Had absolutely, you know, you know, it takes fired in most of the during firehouses and takes them a while to get dressed and get into the trucks and not to the scene. So when you have the officers out there driving around for 10 hours, people are like, Well, you know what? We really need that many officers out there patrolling? Yes, you do. I'm working on a program right now. The doctor Ascot on providing more advanced medical training for our officers because we are out there and and probably 80 to 90% of the time we get there first on these types of calls on, you know our officers, but in my opinion, need some better medical training. And that's something I'm working on. The doctor asked right now, So, um, yeah, guys, you know, we're talking about the violent crime. Again Last night, I just was reading through a significant event where our officers arrested a subject after Carjacking vehicle down in southeast Austin. And they actually found the vehicle that he carjacked but were able to set up on him because they had seen Ng and they watched him try to break into another vehicle. The the guy had a gun on him. And guess what? April 3rd of 2021. He was released on a PR bond after being arrested for felony possession of a firearm that that's the type of crap that are did our D A is not prosecuting? On believes that people need to be continued to be let out of jail to victimize citizens of Boston and Travis County, and that needs to be dealt with center than later. That's part of the judicial process. And if you got a d a in a group of judges, they're going soft on some of these criminals, letting him out on PR bods basically signing your name man promising to come back. And then they go out and commit even more crimes. That one you're talking about. Actually had an ankle monitor at the same time as well. What what's what's really going on? Because this this D A is on a mission to find prosecutors to go after cops not go after facts and truth and due process. But it feels like the D A. Is especially with this job posting recently is looking for lawyers that just want to go after cops. You know God, it's disgraceful the way that just second charge advertised for that position. You know, um, they prosecute, uh, different city officials, um, sole rights cases and many other types of cases and for her to go out there and then specifically looked for people to prosecute cops and, you know, asking if you enjoy prosecuting police officers, Um, but, you know, I just felt like there was a way out of line and it shows you where there What they're intended to prosecute, Uh, police officers instead of these violent criminals that are out there shooting people every day. Yes, we do. We do have officer involved shootings but 99% of them. Are justified. And, you know, then you have your cases like Derrick show venom and other officers. And we had a officer accused of sexual assault this last year here in Austin. They need to be prosecuted if you're out there. Committing crimes like that. You need to be prosecuted. No matter who you are, but we don't need to be prosecuting people for doing their jobs and having to make split second decisions talking. We can't Cassidy of the Austin Police Association one last question, the back the Blue Act that the state is considering. It would go after cities that trying to defund police without voter approval. What do you think of all of that? I mean, it's tremendous support from leadership at the at the capital for sure, That's house Bill 1900 on, you know, we, um pretty much stayed out of that the whole window. The end when we realize that by their defunding, it's causing undue pressure on our pension system. So we had an amendment added to where Cities continue to define like the cities of Austin. They have to pay for the officers portion of the pension and the city's portion. That was our involvement in it, because we noticed that it was really starting to affect not only you know the morale on Ben, you know the ability for a fee to do its job. Then it started Intro Ching in on our pension system, which you know you can't take more pressure than it already has. So, um, you know, that's when we got involved in that It's some amendments, which were accepted and part of house Bill 1900. So when we have a big announcement this morning at 9:30 A.m., and I don't want to get out in front of that. But I think people will be happy with what they hear this morning at 9 30 in a press conference. I won't push you on that. Understand You wanna hang on to that? But let everybody know that here at the tide of Don show we got your back. I appreciate you can thank you Appreciate you guys. Thank you very much. Here you go. Kid. "He needs to understand that No more than California is Los Angeles. Texas is not Austin. It's true if he wants. If you want to consider moving to Texas. I really really encouraged him to look somewhere. Besides Austin. You know, I we live in basketball County, and I don't go to Austin anymore than I have absolutely have to best drop County has been booming, like crazy over the past couple of years. I mean, there's there's place I've lived at. Tremendous Yeah, in the last five years have just broken my heart. I've known forever that it was inevitable, right? But Yeah. And you just contributed to it. Didn't you encouraging people to come out? So come out to bastard. I hear you did Nisa. I totally get it. You're absolutely right. Austin is not Texas. I'm not sure what it is anymore. Let's see, Sparky. Hey, Sparky. Good morning, sparking morning gas. Hey, you know, you know that place out there where they have the rock rally. Yeah, Yeah. The Expo Center. Yes, that expose answer. Yes, sir. Things like that would be a really good place to camp out for the campers. Uh, they got the utilities that they're already a lot of people can't back there in the biker rally and also has been talking about rebuilding that place or building a new one. It's not Austin's authority. That's actually Travis County, Travis County. Owns and manages and operates that that would be something you did. Why would Travis County want to solve Austin's problem? Why would Travis County want to take over Austin's problem? All that is Travis County's problem is well, I mean, they're not right now. Doubt about it. All right now. No. Nobody going to Travis County Commissioners Court make demanding changes. But he is correct This forest location. I mean, even just with the vast, vast amount of parking That they have out there that could be utilized for per some kind of Ah, homeless camp that that would be a good location. Really? Yeah. Wow, I'll disagree with you on that one Come because the Travis County Expo Center is a crown jewels for the taxpayers of Travis County. And now you want to totally just hand it over to be a homeless encampment. It's a facility that has generated millions hundreds of millions of dollars over generations, and now you just want to give up on this great this great event center. And turn it into a an encampment. That didn't seem like a smart move with your investment. Well, no, you're You're right in that regard, but right now, I don't know what they're doing with it. And yeah, there is plans. Tohno Jit. But certainly the physical set up finding some kind of Ah, set up like that, that kind of space and there is a lot of space like that in Southeast Austin. Uh, in North East Austin, east of 1 30. There is a lot of city owned land out there. So that would be that is every time I think of some kind of homeless encampment. That is the area. That's that's what I envisioned. That's one vote for transforming the Travis County Expo Center into a homeless encampment. Now you gotta have to erase all the events. That are planned year after year at that place. I don't know how many events do they have year out? They have the rodeo and the rot rally those that that was the only two that come to mind Pops. Checking in. Yeah, pops checking in from community First village this morning. Hey, what's going on out there? Yes, sir. I always like to check in with you, Matt Mackowiak and set the groundwork for changing Austin back to like it used to be an American tin used to screw up. Why he doesn't give Alan and Tricia Graham that money for that motel out there. The community First Village. I just don't can't figure out well, that would be admitting you'd have to get the mayor to admit he doesn't know how to solve the crisis. He only knows how to inflame it. My head and all those resource is over to Alan Graham. That would be admitting defeat They have they have showed improved, Alan interest a gram that this place worked. Yes, about Utopia. There's a lot of problems out here and they work on the day today, but it's better than what we're seeing our town turn into, and I've lived here 73 years. It's breaking my heart pops. How long have you lived at community? First Village? Four years. You love it. I love it. Yeah. I mean, you know, there's a lot of problems. There's records. I told you once before, and I'm one of them sometimes, But this is a nice place and good people. Yeah, I saw Uh, I saw the documentary about it the other night. They had it. That was great, too. Yeah, for some have been Elvis. Sit down and watch the whole thing. And it blew me away. Yeah, that was that was such a good thing that down here Mm hmm. Yes, basis. But this place is is putting is the idea of Alan. Interesting have proved that is the idea. It's not just a roof over your head, but you got heat. You got electricity, food, all that stuff over and you have a community. You have. Ah, neighborhood? Yeah. That's important clinic. Not a nice thing. And you know, just all kinds of drug and alcohol Rehab things Medical Facility medical facility, their medical facility. It's Why the mayor came out here twice. He was out here not too long ago and just doesn't get it. Yeah, I got you. Pop state's understanding. I hear you man stayed in l A. Yeah, Well, yeah, Maybe. So maybe so. I appreciate you calling this morning, Pops. Thank you very much. Wow. Here we are. I mean, probably passed. And now now this is where the rubber meets the road. Hang on a second, Tim. Is on the tide of Don show. Hey, Tim. What's going on guys argument about where to put the homeless, Always southeast outs and always comes up, then that's why I live in Southeast Austin. And if the collar is going to call and have a bright idea, maybe it ought to be where they live right next to me. This is this is the problem. By the way I found this report interesting thing is why pulled this one from the original money honey. Maria Barreda Romo. This is on Fox business news. This was not a post on medium. It was a comment in on a whole different post. It was a very short. You know like one paragraph saying exactly what she recited but she kind of makes it out to sound like it's it should be because it is a big deal but it was interesting that she pulled this out. I don't know if that was a stock manipulation thing or kind of you know hyping it up up a little bit for the market. Who loves to hear news about Amazon but factually it was not a post on Amazon on medium? It was a an anonymous comments. Tom Brought back. This is of course the company that you could somebody rings your doorbell and you can deal with it from your phone but it has opened the can of worms arms on privacy. Where is this video going? Are they giving the ring video. Co. shows up your door to local police and others. I mean this. There's a few the privacy issues here and there's a lot of complicated issues here. I mean one of the issues. Of course we've seen people taking hackers getting access. The People's accounts and part of that is the person themselves has to be responsible use difficult password. Don't make it easy to guess. But you're right we have to know what are the what do they have deals with law enforcement. What are they going to do? If if law enforcement requests that and we've we've seen those issues already with phones. So there's some precedent precedent for what they might do if somebody shows up at your door and that person is questionable from the local polices standpoint. And how does that implicate you it just it just opens the door to all these questions about who shows up at your doorstep Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah. Shut up what is more egregious about the ring doorbell system as reported and of course this was this didn't get any traction because of impeachment and Orangemen bad everything The Electronic Frontier Frontier Foundation. Who get a lot of money from Google to stay alive? But I do like what they do in general They didn't investigation of the the APP. That comes with the ring doorbell which you manage your entire system and guess what. It's packed with on reading from their report. Packed with third-party tracker sending out a plethora of customers personally identifiable information four main analytics and marketing companies were discovered to be receiving information such as names private. Ip Addresses Mobile Network carriers persistent identifier sensor data on the devices. And by the way you're paying paying customer and they're still selling your ass to other third party marketers and as the F. F. correctly points out the danger injuring sending even small bits of information that analytics and tracking companies are able to combine these bits together to form a unique picture of the user's device and in their life. Turn that stuff off and it's despicable that Amazon. You pay for this. It's just like skype. If I look at skype right now I pay for skype. I got an ad at the bottom of skype now and I pay I pay for the service in the problem. Problem is there's so many a lot of these applications like you're listening to the Amazon show and tell the The Alexa show and tell we're can identify the product. These are very these fantastic developments. I I wish I could use them. I love having the ability to use voice to have things turn on and off. And it's it's handy for many things but because of the business model you've rendered it useless for people have a brain. It's too bad.
