"I think it's yeah. The rule change years ago where it's like anything in the head. It doesn't have to grasp anything. You know what i mean. I think if you smack somebody in the math is a penalty. If you're on the defense but on offense fucking do whatever you want. I was thinking while we're while we're talking and how we didn't have a great weekend. Is there one bed from each of you that you were like that. I regret that one. I michael take a guess. The eagles the eagles on i thought too much into that. I thought they would turn it around and all the number said philly but i think the other one was miami because i thought that look too easy. I said on my show sunday morning. There's something that just looks too easy like it like that line should be longer than that. It was just too easy. I never take my own teams. I'm with the mike. I did jack. Seventy six percent of the country when they in the issue of the dolphins are not only the offense but they got. They gave up almost two hundred yards on the ground. Yesterday to Melvin phillip lindsay. Looked really good. Lock look good too. Yes tab locked it. He looked so bad the week before. I mean i guess that one you know. I mean that those are the two that i would. You know because the that just didn't make any sense that line was. It looked too easy to play and then the one thing we definitely should do is whenever the whatever the contest top pixar go against them because they don't now lombardi though. This is the issue with this whole thing here if it looks too easy. We don't take it in hits. How dumb feel. Yeah i know. But i rather i think when i think i rather be on the side of the book than than on the side of the public. I regret not taking the panthers as well. It shouldn't matter that teddy wasn't playing or not. They're they're they are good coach team and i think they are a very good team. You know if you're gonna play a backup quarterback the lions and the team. You wanna play. I was anyone is one that i'm obviously not happy about it Since he was the better team when joe burrow was in that ballgame shot themselves on the photo book. Kill the super bowl. The super bowl killed the super bowl. The super bowl's have hit. They leave seven points on the board. To misfield goes now granted. One of them was like a sixty yard or whatever to missed field goals and an extra point. Joe burrow down. I mean that was the one where he fumbled on the one. Yeah it was all over the steelers because we knew that the rookie quarterback against a steeler defense wasn't gonna score. I mean we really should have been all over. The steelers that was that was too easy to think about the steelers. Pass rush versus a rookie quarterback. How are they going to score south scout right. There was only the second time. Mike tomlin covered as a double digit favourite on the road in his career. He was one in nine going into that. That's why i. I wouldn't have recommended that one just just because of that but at a rookie quarterback against a really good pass rush with no skill players in a bad team you probably gonna be ninety percent to take that back but this is this is this is all hindsight. Here's eight the snake was cooking going into that game jake. The snake was a problem down there. They got rid of foles. Because i'll good jake. The snake i agree with you but look at my sheet. I had pittsburgh should have been a fifty points. Favor didn't take it have been good..

"Frank carson. I know you don't determine the playing time by your voice does matter in the building As sean gets closer here how do you get him the snaps he might need without a coming at the detriment of some of these wide receivers. Who are starting to really developing an and find a rhythm the offense the i think that's a that's a great question and that's something that we're gonna keep exploring as we go. You know for one like you said. I don't make the decisions at the end of the day on those things but i think as he continues to work back in in everything we kinda see where he's at see where he's at within our offense and how we can use him and makes him in with these other guys and it. It is a fine line. there's really no right or wrong. Answer there but you know at the end of the day. You guys are going to help us win. The guy's are going to be on the field and then only thing. I'd say about how strong that is encouraging is. We've had a lot of banks reps over the years you know so so we've worked together. We played together for a while. Obviously that's been missing now for for good wild but You know. I think we have a lot of confidence in each other so however much. He's out there and you utilize i'm confident in martin franken and rob mahdi carson. So when you were talking about like south scouting and everything. What what did you learn from watching watching the film especially like with regards to the turnovers some stuff over the first half of the season. Yeah it's just. It's a fine line of the walking that fine line of aggressiveness in just eating a play. You know throwing it away those sorts of things Honestly that's that's the the fine line. I've said it over and over and over and over that i'll continue to walk For my career. But you know it is a Some of the fumbles. Some of them are just happening but other times. It's okay just throw away. You know just just live fight another down. Some of the intersections are just being really aggressive in trying to force play. That maybe isn't air and so Those are things not all of them. You know interceptions and turn are gonna to happen. And i'm i'm aware of that but there's definitely a handful of them that i can look introspectively at and say okay. I just eat that. Just call it a day. Live to fight another down my work on doing that. Roddey unless bone carson. Could there be a thing such thing as having too many voices too many people trying to tell you what to do how to do it. And how do you process that. How do you know who to tune in what to tune out and what you need to be focused on in any profession in any situation. Having too many voices in your head can definitely be an issue. I think you know we've done a good job around here of of not overdoing that and you know for me. I have you know coach. Starting with coach. And then you know. Handful of others that We're we're trying to be on the same page and it's not so much like he has an opinion. I haven't been in this that and the other we try and really build this thing together and be all on the same page. I think we've done a pretty good job of that. But absolutely that can be concerned if you let it go south in less felon and then we just met his last two. Hey carson. I think one thing. That frustrates fans is really get sense. Sometimes on the turnovers of what. You're thinking what your view of of the situation was and i wanted to. Even though it's been a while now the dallas game that i fumble. I it looked like you saw the safety coming toward you. Maybe you were trying to get. Ballast garnered to go out a little bit and i think fans were kind of yelling. Both hands on the ball both ends and ended up fumbling. How did you see that situation when how did it feel to you. I mean that's one that i definitely want back and you know that's behind me so i'm not trying to overanalyze Housing which. I was about to throw that ball and you know i wasn't on saint pages as receiver and at the end of the day. I was caught with the ball. Appear in an awkward spot in you know. Put it in harm's way so That stuff that you know. Sometimes it's trying to force a play in do too much that I can look at it and just you know be smarten. Maybe thrown away. Take a sack. Whatever that is.

Peterman John overly I love John overly he was the guy who played J. Peter men and on Seinfeld you remember him and Elaine used to work for him. he said conservatives tend to be lone wolves there's more diversity in the land the beautiful people than you might think he said I think they the the left has the bully pulpit right now to say it out loud. it doesn't permeate Hollywood to the degree that you think it is I think there's a nature among liberal thinkers to form packs or to form groups whereas the conservative mind is basically an individual and they're tougher to find I think that's true I think we are a product of and you can sign the negativity to this but we're a product of the meat. side of the equation the left is the wheat and there is there is there is grace and there is prosperity when that is balanced when everybody is me me me me me we forget about too many people when everyone is we we we we we we generally tend to gas people that we don't agree with so we need to think about we're all in this together the we parked in a balanced way. and it's the power of the individual that makes the difference that's that's the American way. and I know you don't there say that anymore but that's the American way. well here is a would you want this video one oh yeah audio we do it's yeah yeah John o'hurley on fox's I'm embarrassed for both of them and I'll say this because I know them both and I've worked with ever before the vote smart people they do wonderful work but they're pushing a case it falls apart from the sheer weight of its lunacy is low dairy Hollywood community needs to be purged of this social and intellectual hygiene problem called conservative thinking and it's just if if it falls it underscores the fact that we aren't receptive to diversity of thought which is the exact opposite of what you feel the liberal the liberal way would be and I find that obscene artistic expression really is the act of the infinite possibility all view points must be observed and respected so at the same time we are supporting free thinking we also have to support free receptors people that will allow other ideas to in fact in some of the best conversations I've ever had on the Seinfeld set with Michael Richards who thinks totally differently than I do but I couldn't wait to present him with an issue or something because I was always interested in his perspective on it and I was always fascinated my dearest friend Bryan Cranston another liberal thinker certainly opposite to me he and I can sit for hours hours discussing an idea and I love that I cherish that yeah with the premise of trying to convince each other. that is what we have lost. in our certitude we are certain to quote my last book we are certain that the other side has nothing of value to teach us so we don't have to listen to them all we have to do is convince them on how wrong they are. and that's the problem we are all filled with moral certitude. well you know there's there's it's an amazing thing I've I've actually had people on the left who have had an awakening and said I can't believe it the the people who have been the most kind and compassionate have been the conservatives and I expected them to run me out on a rail. no real conservatives real conservatives do not run people out on a rail if you believe in the constitution we want to have a conversation but we also want to be able to have a right or wrong we want to be able to come up with a solution that is somewhat verifiable Intel is verifiable as it can be we want if you show me scientific proof. and you show me something that I can run a thousand tests on and it continues to come that way you know what I'm going to I'm going to say yes hi I just read something about the farmers almanac and they're saying that the farmers almanac is calling for a really really tough winter but in that a scientist was quoted in saying we have a hard time trying to figure out what the weather is going to be in the next day let alone a year from now. you can tell me what the climate is going to be a hundred years from now. you see any irony in that the ASEAN do you do yes see maybe that. maybe you should to be a little less certain about what you're certain of. by the way Jeffrey abstain. the guy who he was working with the model agency boss now this is the guy accused of south scouting young girls for the the peta file ring they had. has now disappeared. investigators have been looking for him French authorities want to talk to him over his ties to abstain it is part of their own probe into what he was doing in his house in Paris. he's a ghost that is disappeared without trace a legal source in Paris told the paper. Hillary will pull all the strings it'll get it'll get in any he'll he'll be fine and we can continue to sell these these small orphan children. case closed I am I know I'm satisfied. they have got money the guy got to be the guy was very busy I don't understand is all because they they they don't know how he really made his money he seem to have a relationship with one big billionaire he made like all of this money and he continually was just importing women and girls all the time like there's a river the latest report had him rejecting a twenty three year old girl because she was too old. and add because that was one of the people who is recruited he was paying hundreds of dollars per woman several times a day I guess to have women recruit these girls from high school and bring them into the house how did this go on for so long it really is incredible it really is an incredible story and I swear to you this story existed for how many freaking years we're conservatives were the ones saying Hey you know this guy who's flown with Bill Clinton twenty six times as jet and gone to some creepy island somewhere where he's been molesting girls like shouldn't we look into this a little more seriously what's going on with this and no one cared for a decade and all the sudden when it's when it's trumps labor secretary whose uncovered that he's the guy that gave FC in the sweetheart deal now everyone's hyper focused on making sure these well women and girls get their justice it is interesting because no one was interested in the FBI no one was interested in the I. R. asks whether there was something going on during the tea party in Obama was using it no one was interested in the FBI you know what with the just as the director of justice or Attorney General saying you know we have to do in advance of beings Attorney General what we have to do is we have to get these guns in the hands of bad guys and let them use them and that'll teach America that we need gun control and then running guns across the border and selling them doing the very the very thing he stated nobody was interested in that nobody was interested in anything to do with the justice department of FBI but they made the mistake of when Donald Trump was in office going after him and I think we're going to see a lot come out of these files accords I think we're gonna learn an awful lot here in the next couple weeks maybe this week on what's really going on in our government I mean to the extreme they did it with Russia I mean we had a a half. century of the left rear bracing Russia and saying how wonderful they are and having multiple presidential candidates go there on honeymoons. and now when the finally when it could because they place too many Facebook ads in support of Donald Trump I guess now all the sudden the the left is just terrified of Russia and wants me to want to make sure that we take it super serious. it is a were the ones who just said the nineteen eighties called and what their foreign policy back yeah and now it's okay because now you'll see a few of them so you know well I guess that was not the appropriate approach at that time old well when when they pay the price for that is there any point where we say you know that analysis was really damaging to the country and you because you want to win an election it's Mitt Romney he decided to excuse Russia who everybody knew it was acting in a terror I think they're paying the price for right now yeah I think if if the left were honest with themselves which will never happen but if the left were honest with themselves they would see that the ones that are responsible truly for Donald Trump are those who said George Bush the hates black people and and is blowing up the levees and he was in on nine on nine eleven and then and then excusing absolutely everything that Barack Obama did that there was nothing that that guy could do that was right in it that was wrong in any way shape or form covering up all kinds of stuff and then Mitt Romney runs Mitt Romney he is the devil incarnate it's going to be the end of the world if Mitt Romney he gets a lot of the dogs on car rules all. he has they have elected they have demonized everyone everyone not just saying that they're not a good candidate those bad policy but they've demonized everyone to the point to where it does it's no longer effective and that's what we're seeing now I got to give you the stats on the me too movement that thing is rebounded and it's doing exactly what we said it would do he would actually hurt real women with real problems and it's rebounded and I think they left is going to be shocked. shocked at the earthquake that they themselves have started when this when all of this comes rebounding back back in just a second. somewhere within the sound of my voice somewhere in America is a man of faith who loves god he loves his family loves his country. loves to get out into the country and just be quiet. he loves his pair of to close this boots in fact he loves it so much she's talking somewhere in America into a microphone right this is about me isn't it. yes. "Lunacy is low dairy Hollywood community needs to be purged of this social and intellectual hygiene problem called conservative thinking and it's just if if it falls it underscores the fact that we aren't receptive to diversity of thought which is the exact opposite of what you feel the liberal the liberal way would be and I find that obscene artistic expression really is the act of the infinite possibility all view points must be observed and respected so at the same time we are supporting free thinking we also have to support free receptors people that will allow other ideas to in fact in some of the best conversations I've ever had on the Seinfeld set with Michael Richards who thinks totally differently than I do but I couldn't wait to present him with an issue or something because I was always interested in his perspective on it and I was always fascinated my dearest friend Bryan Cranston another liberal thinkers certainly opposite to me he and I can sit for hours hours discussing an idea and I love that I cherish that yeah with the premise of trying to convince each other. that is what we have lost. in our certitude we are certain to quote my last book we are certain that the other side has nothing of value to teach us so we don't have to listen to them all we have to do is convince them on how wrong they are. and that's the problem we are all filled with moral certitude. well you know there's there's it's an amazing thing I've I've actually had people on the left who have had an awakening and said I can't believe it the the people who have been the most kind and compassionate have been the conservatives and I expected them to run me out on a rail. no real conservatives real conservatives do not run people out on a rail if you believe in the constitution we want to have a conversation but we also want to be able to have a right or wrong we want to be able to come up with a solution that is somewhat verifiable Intel is verifiable as it can be we want if you show me scientific proof. and you show me something that I can run a thousand tests on and it continues to come that way you know what I'm going to I'm going to say yes hi I just read something about the farmers almanac and they're saying that the farmers almanac is calling for a really really tough winter but in that a scientist was quoted in saying we have a hard time trying to figure out what the weather is going to be in the next day hello let alone a year from now but you can tell me what the climate is going to be a hundred years from now. you see any irony in that do you see and do you do yes see maybe that. maybe you should to be a little less certain about what you're certain of. by the way Jeffrey Epstein. the guy who he was working with the model agency boss now this is the guy accused of south scouting young girls for the the peta filed ring they had. has now disappeared. investigators have been looking for him French authorities want to talk to him over his ties to abstain it is part of their own probe into what he was doing in his house in Paris. he's a ghost that is disappeared without trace a legal source in Paris told the paper. I'll really investigators obeyed enquiring throughout the US and Europe as well as Brazil where the Frenchman was seen looking for girls just three months before Epstein was arrested there's no address for him all of his internet accounts including social media have all been wiped out he's on contact Dibble. really. that's weird in this world where you can find anyone at any time this guy has just disappeared. he fell into the wood chipper what what. you don't think the Clintons will let him leave to you. "And Sean Comiskey that's right yeah this is our last day filling in for mama she has returned we have seen her yeah she she popped on yesterday we posted a photo from the neck down yeah on Instagram because yeah if you could see was going off my neck up when you are like that she she looked the the hair was in the low eyelashes were working yeah and and and I don't know she slept in full makeup no shouldn't have any makeup on that was a natural beauty what you only take pics from the neck down because I knew that she wouldn't want anything models from the neck up I just I I was with her for twenty years now I know she wouldn't want you know if she woke up like that that is somebody's missing out on a good time tell her suitors that I well I can't single ladies yeah but you know that their suitors I don't know okay there might be she much shoo them away for some reason I don't know let's make a list and check it twice well it just tweeted what it say it to either okay yeah defected Jim Comey James Comey is not prosecuted for the absolutely horrible things that he did just shows how fair and reasonable Attorney General bill he walked away with some notes of a meeting yes that's against FX however that's not it doesn't count as horrible but here's the thing if you took those notes in order to commemorate rights we had proof that this happened like I would have turned around had dot com if you would like gone home and like call of his body and you will not believe the he should have someone outside right according to ethics rules you should let someone know right he could gone he little could gone home to do not leave comes a has have a trunk you just said we were talking just for the show I I don't like the guy I'm no I'm not no I don't want to say he's a grand Stander but he's a grand Stander you know do you he's a grand Stander I I I one hundred percent agree and I wish you go away I wish she'd shut the F. up the thing is I I II I agreed but when they keep dragging him into the spot light like this with these like these reports that when they try to pin something on him I mean they took they took information that he put in his memos classified it after the fact right and then try to come back and say that he leaked classified information that's not quite how it happened and that's it that was the whole crux trump is approved a year and a half now has been going out talking about how can we should be in jail for leaking classified information you know this is a personal beef between the two of them they're fighting in public about it and I'm sick of it I'm really really sick of it it's another thing to meet the president makes me hate James call me you need another thing to hit a present for high I can do it it's over here here I'm looking article right now a just just departments are not to prosecute call me for retaining the memos about international trump White House and for schools in one such memo to the media says nothing to do with anything about the country it does because that memo that he leaked is what ended up getting us the special counsel and that's why trump was so angry about this so it is it is relevant it is over god coming at seven several other lawful options available to him to advocate for the promo special counsel which he told his goal of making the disclosure this according to the IG report was not permitted was the unauthorized disclosure of simple sensitive investigation information obtained during the course of FBI employment in order to achieve a personally designed outcome I don't think any conversation with trump has repeatedly asking him to go easy on plan to make this Russia thing go away that's not like that's not information was obtained during the investigation trump begging him to bury the lead and so I I I everyone's going nuts about this thing on a Saturday I just I I II I some more stuff about the hurricane I saw about this yesterday yeah I hauled **** I mean you know we don't I just don't I don't think this is a huge story in the grand scheme of things there are a lot bigger things going on with this president and with the twenty twenty race well I think it just points to the fact that they it's it's more about there tends to cover up and to conceal and to hide and it I do me if it's in the bigger narrative of things and also he going after his his political enemies mmhm which McCabe is next on the list because the Dutch dot were waiting for that information to come out like whether they're going to prosecute him for what he did what he did you try to cover up for coming on these these memos I think at this point we're not gonna get truck out of office before the election so right now I think we need to concentrate every single ounce of energy we have on getting out the vote and beating this president and getting him out of office this sort of little stuff I think is a distraction at this point everything that we can do to get him out of office support it and whether it's imputed between it you know I don't we we're not we're not it and would not have an impeachment before the election at this point we're just not sorry good thing stuff is accurate well what we're not we're not stay there if what U. thrown we can't do it in a year we can't do the entire thing in here especially since all of the sea from probably about may forward is going to be concentrating on the election if they can get in dirty that's all I care about in other White House stuff and I I think they can get more on him after he's out of office yes and and and and and policy is said as much yes absolutely yeah and so maybe that's why pelo see is is is holding off because she knows that nothing can be done before the election but should we be care scared about the fact that they're they're worried about once more getting the voting machines now absolutely that is a unit that is a major major thing in fact finding that nobody in DC's paying attention to that because they're concentrating on this little crap people are paying to send actually I want a new one put out yes she did when we were talking about the the the attacks on the border databases and stuff I'm not gonna ask did tax and he said that in October twenty sixteen I was asked how Russia could disrupt the election I said the easiest way to change was to change the registrations humans that for three years yep so I am and what what Jackie was saying yesterday you'll disrupting the power grid and having people not being able to get to the point the polling places and there's a story that just came out this morning about in Georgia and I haven't I have not had a chance for you because I just printed before the show started but in Georgia they are saying now that let me see if I can see the headline here pull of missing Georgia boats finds extreme irregularities in black district I think we knew that the we we knew that but yeah there's a an investigation is actually been done so we have had something to actually go on there and in other White House stuffing news yes trust personal assistant Madeline what's your house yeah roughly resigns yes according to sources it she got the job because she shared personal information about the president's family an oval office operations an off the record dinner with reporters earlier this month and Bedminster New Jersey when they were there for try yes long extended vacation yep you do you don't you nobody close to the president is is just well to him otherwise they get thrown to the cart yeah I want I it's it's that loyalty thing you know it always trainers require loyal to them that day and loyalty to deter is recorded require loyalty to the dictator not to the constitution this is correct this is great and what it is interesting though is she wasn't also one of six mistress officials who the government watchdog agency founded November twenty eighteen how to violated the hatch act after touring support for Republicans or put present on trump during from the government Twitter accounts they can take any action or there now yeah yes that doesn't matter that doesn't count and I we mentioned it last week but now we have mug shots mugshots of whom seventy Grissom you know our our current press secretary Grisham Grisham yes yes she was she arrested in Arizona sometimes twice when she left the bar in South scouts in downtown Scottsdale yeah mugshot twenty thirteen and twenty fifteen to the repeat offender after a parable rests in central Arizona clean cops Grisham have a loose relationship with the truth before becoming a lighthouse books person should qualify for the job we now she told cops when she's pulled over she told cops that she take as an axe well as you do but when they pulled over for speeding S. U. V. they smelled booze on her breath in which she denied she well it's a legal to drive while I'm there next to exile I'm not a watch and use that as an example calling the cops he said she blew directly to my face I defected detected the odor of intoxicating beverages to be even stronger along with the order of gun in her mouth so yes she was chewing gum trying to cover up she popped the gum did was get on over yeah yeah exactly where to go way to go so let's see that works for you if you ever do a press briefing she pleaded guilty the penalty it was reduced to reckless driving and then two years later when she was arrested a second time she was busted incidents to a treating treatment program she should have up what was the old wives tale eve either she won a potato or something like you Kerry potato with you what that was the that's what that we were told in college yeah I potato yeah if you join a potato gets rid of the smell of alcohol I don't know if it's true never tried it so I don't know wasn't called in San Diego we go down to Tijuana or sell you once up to that gets rid of the the smell of alcohol yeah okay that makes sense I guess I don't know I was always with a Denny's well what if you pulled over on your way to Denny's does it well I would I was going Jeez not missing the show yeah did you ever drive drunk no no we college when we would go down to it what we in San Diego you could go to Tijuana sure when you were not twenty one that's right and so when you when I went to Arizona state freshman year we drove to Tijuana so that's a longer drive it is a longer drives a bit longer drive we had a long weekend and so we're like Hey let's go to Tijuana where we can drink hello this is like Friday night let's go yeah that's right yeah for us the road trip was fun and it was it was a hundred fifteen degrees that it yeah we used to make fun use owners well toned Sony's we also need a we columns owners anyways ones are to come down but yeah I know we would just walk across the border and there's a Denny's on the southern border.

"Take your ask Adam questions, some great questions this week from Nick Ross, Kevin, Kevin Matthew, and Gino, as they fire off some great questions pertaining to random NFL subjects. But I the man out west in the desert Marvin Lewis. Joining us now the new special advisor to Arizona state head coach Herman Edwards, Marvin Lewis Marvin, what does special advisor mean? They help out coach all remain the help out today. Well helping out, you know, trying to finally. Hermanez asked me to thoroughly. Take time in evaluate everything they're doing and really consult with him on. And you know how I did things what I what I liked what I did like and, and then as we get to the season really, I'm going to spend time and evaluating the personnel, or the people are opponents, and so forth, present a report to the coaches south scout both offense and defense special teams here as well. And just the system with a lot of the analytical things that they've already have in place and being able to, you know, put things in front of him that are and, and how mentor, the coaches help them in their planning and so forth and be a sounding board to the things they're doing, and, you know, but present what I think are the strengths and weaknesses the opponents as well. More of when I saw the news, I wondered, how did this come to be? How long did this been going on who came up with the idea? And I'm curious to know how this all started. Well, I think you know, literally it began a year, you know, almost a year ago, you know, in home, and I just talking. And you know what was talking on the golf course in whatever was. And, you know, whenever, you know, he's like, hey long as I'm there ever, you get done, what you're doing, and you wanna play the becoming do something, you know, the doors going to be open. So and then after the season you know, he reached on right away this year. And so, you know, we I came over here. Couple times spent some time and talked and so forth, and he visited with his coaches to what you know what role they could see I could feel from what they had or, or could maybe even develop into because I thought that was important that these guys here had a comfort level with everything. And so then the chance to come over and visit with the coaches as well. So it's I'm excited about it. What, what did they say that sold you there because you had opportunities to do plenty of things right? You could have joined television network. You could've I'm sure probably consulted for an NFL team. You've probably gonna worked in NFL offi, there, a lot of things that you could have done. So what did you hear from them that drew you to the college game? Well, I think the energy here, that's in this building, obviously, we know that's what would Herman's all about that, if you, you walk in this building, and, and they coaches that he has in place here and the way they go about their jobs and so forth. It's impressive. And so I was really been impressed with that. And, you know, the couple of times I had a chance to come over and spend time here. Obviously, I have a long relationship with the athletic director here Ray Anderson and the job that he's doing and his vision for what the future of as athletics. And as you put ball is and so rain, I had had a conversation or two. And, and, and so it's been able to twelve fall into place Marvin advantage. Birthed the former sun devil have anything to say about you going back to his alma Mata. He was excited he known about this for about a month and. He and his beyond say they both went to school here. And so I got folks up from them right away. So I was glad to hear that they were excited about it. Who would have thought that for the two thousand nineteen season that you would be a special adviser for state involved, his birth would be playing linebacker for the Oakland Raiders. Well, that's what we're trying to get him to be able to do right now. It's just play linebacker promote radio. So we, we stay in pretty good contact. How strange has it been for you to be out of the NFL? It really hasn't been. It's been avid. I haven't missed it. I'm enjoying everything that I had an opportunity to do. I enjoyed working for the F until they pull the carpet from underneath, and, but it was fine. It was fun talking to coaches. It was fun being around the players and having the opportunity, I was getting the learn a lot of new things, you know, spend time day as, you know, ESPN and days with the NFL network. So I was getting a chance to, to meet other people and do things, and, and people were very, very helpful to me and have mentor me, and to maybe something different. But this is been exciting the you know, I just had to go through those other things and decide what, what made sense for the future. And do you think you will miss it this fall when it starts up? I, I don't know I'm gonna have enough on my hands right here to keep me very busy. I know you'll be to help out cokes there. But when the first Sunday of the NFL season, rolls around will you be so wrapped up in Arizona state's affairs or will you have a chance to watch the Bengals. Well, I don't think I will look, I will be watching the Bengals other than the fact that the players that are near and dear to my heart there. That's it, you know, the players that I brought there. But other than that, that's my only interest in, in the Bengals went there going, the players successful when you bring up near and dear to your heart, who do you think of who will you miss this season? In cincinnati. Marvin. Oh, I'm this mall. I'll miss them all from the from last year's draft class of the Sam Howard's, Billy price. You know, those guys last year's classes, well as the guys that have been there through thick and same with me, and the AJ's Andy's so forth. The guys that have been there, the longest and Joe mixing all the guys Drake. Patrick all the guys reach out, you know, from time to time miss the mall because they've been a big part of my life. And hopefully I've been a part of their so but yeah, I'll be busy here. And I won't get a chance to peek in on the NFL because I'll be too busy helping us get ready for whoever the next opponent is. So while you're busy there. What are your expectations this season for the Bengals I know that they've had a lot of changes? I know the personnel will be different. I know that when a new coach comes in legs act, Taylor that there are a lot of changes that are made. But what do you expect to see from that team this season? I really have no idea. I don't I expect 'em you'd have. A great season because he's a fine, fine player and hopefully AJ's back in healthy and John rock continues to grow. Talib boy continues to grow Joe mixing cetera. So all those guys on offense really can do their thing. And, you know, Tyler I for being healthy and back them excited for him. And I know he's still in great. So a lot of things positives, there, do you have any relationship or have you had any contact with the new head coach? There's activity, who succeeded you. I have not. No. Do you have any hopes of getting back to the NFL coaching one day or you're not even thinking like that? I'm not like that. I'm just you know, you know me long enough and I'm gonna focus on what today is and not worry about tomorrow. Now, I wonder also you the home in Arizona. How far is that from Arizona state? Give me an idea of what that commute will be like for you, and how much that entered into your decision to become a special advisor for hours stayed here. Well, it's less than the Paul Brown stadium. So, so for good. Wow. Is that right? Yeah. It's that close. Yeah. It's, it's well, you know, early in the morning, there's no traffic. So, but now it it's been great. It really is. I was surprised how close. The first thing I heard from a couple people like what do you do it? You know how sorry is from your house down, actually. It's closer was in Cincinnati. That's amazing. So you, you can have all this free time on your hands, then Marvin. Well, what Herman is envisioned for me the opportunity to do this, and it's been it's been fun. You know, I've been here now for, you know, for three days 'cause I really don't start August. But I'm trying to get to lay of the land here and get started on some things, and a lot of paperwork with with collegiate athletic days. More than you expected. Well, more than it was. You know, I guess it'd be twenty eight years ago when I was in college nineteen ninety one. Wow, that that's, that's right. I forgot about that, now that you are out of the NFL, and now that you are a help out coach special adviser for our state. How has that changed your personal life at all? Well, it's been very good. I've had the opportunity, you know, to spend time with my my son's coaching Hampton university. I've been the Hampton Virginia a couple of times, and we've got the daughter here, and son-in-law was grandson. So if I go three days without seeing those boys, you know, I'm kicking myself. So I get a lotta offer to, to, to be pop, and, and that's been great. And would you not have had that Hegi still been coaching Cincinnati? Well, I still have that. I mean it's just, you know, it's, it's, it's different, you know, because I wouldn't be close as close as I am two to one side of the family. We'll be back with more of the Adam Schefter podcast on ESPN radio. Right after this. Are you looking for senior care for your mom or dad but don't know where to start? Hi,.

"You haters. You are a hater seventy-one all. Even casing that was going to happen. Did six minutes left in the third and the nuggets are going toe to toe here you need literally Craig's had a couple of nice buckets. You're gonna need mill sap to get going here. I mean, he's been obviously a really important player in this series. Mike to see joker and Murray also get their their stride going. But yeah, I mean, they're they're they're rolling with them. This is lining up Benjamin to be fourth quarter kind of game which I think in the end probably favors Portland because it's at home. But I think there's a clearly possibility if the nuggets can keep this thing close that maybe Portland screws up and let them win it. It's it's we're watching this game. And it's weird seeing the nuggets pull it close. And then once they pull it close. Then also they start jacking up shots from all over the place. Yeah. And I'm like, okay. Just played a little conservative here. Take the easy shat. Take the easy buckets. Your enemy right now is not necessarily. The scoreboard. If you're keeping it with a one possession the clock. All you have to do is have you one point ahead when it runs out? And so I think philosophically the nuggets once Portland builds up a four point lead, they plant smart, and they they win the bucket in will it back down with smart shots. And then when it gets close they go back to Jack up threes. And I just you know, I I get the calculus on that. You know, if you take a certain number three point shots, the percentages. The overall you come out ahead, but to me, it's just not smart in game management and that smart in game basketball. And you know, it's it's a little frustrating to watch bizarre thing. That's a little bit of a factor. Here will ball don't lie on a media. They're factor here too. Is that you're not gonna get the same kinds of calls on the road? Like, so for example, that that call against Tory Cray. He had a couple now in a row foul calls that I thought were little suspect pretty close. And that's that's part of the the officiating deal. Right. I mean, it's going to happen. Think things are not always gonna go the way you expect especially on the road, though, you got to keep that in mind. And that to hey, these, oh, man, you gotta get the second chance baskets rebounds here that that's killing me right now. The the Portland trailblazers getting way too many second chance opportunities here. They're not converting all of them as that just happened there. But they are getting way too, many of those. So that's two monitors. Well, all right. Three three seven hundred eighty five. Eighty five is the phone number five six six nine zero. A Tex comment on the text line here for you Benjamin. Says can the Broncos be tender and the division this year? I can't be a contender. I don't know that that's a possibility when I was a probability. Are you giving me the John FOX we consider everything we also could sit or nothing. Well, I I'm not philosophical enough to philosophize the great philosophize, John FOX. No. I think that they can be. I think the Broncos are gonna be better than people think, you know. I I really do. I think Kansas City switching to a new defense, and it's going to be better long-term for them. But you know, there's going to be a learning curve for that this which in from thirty four hundred forty three they're moving from a defense that dropped guys drop random guys into into Soanes and attempted to disguise coverage to a straight for man. Rush to be a little bit different. You have the possibility. Tyree kills not going to be back around for Kansas City next year that could be something. I know Pam homes makes everybody better. But it's one of those things that tyreek hill has all world speed right now. And there's just no there's just not a realistic answer for that. The chargers are another team. I expect to be regressed a little as well. I don't expect the chargers to be the same team that they were last year losing a little bit along the interior that defensive line. I don't know that they're going to get some of the same breaks again. And I think the Broncos are going to be better. You're gonna have competent in game coaching for the first time in a few years. You're going to have a better preparation for the first time a few guys are by an individual in a way, they didn't really by advance. You know, you you talk to some of these guys who played Vance last couple of years, and they're like, well, we got a new coach will do whatever. But they're buying into Vic's detail oriented approach rather than Vance's, you know, Pat him on the back side. And you know and say you get a good job. We had a good week of practice approach. And I'm saying not just schematic Lee, but philosophically the buying into we need to go the extra inch and the extra mile in order to make sure that we get the extra yards and the extra points. What happened with Vance? It was unprepared to be when he was. I mean, I'm sure he's a great interview. And Vance's a nice guy you've talked to Vance Joseph. He's a nice guy. There were like there were definitely guys that didn't they didn't really jive with Vance. There's there's no secret about that. I mean, so. Yeah. The entire secondary, for example. Well, that's what happens when you got when you got a novice, DC and Joe woods. He got a novice head coach Vance Joseph who was also a novice DC and your your schematic. You're running a cover zero defense that puts a lot of stress on a secondary one one misstep one slip one in you. You've got wide receivers on the jets run free making Bradley Roby, look like a goofball. You know, it's not necessarily. I mean, some of those roadways fall. But some of it wasn't some of it was he was put in a position to fail. You can't have guys on an island every play at expect perfect football all the time. Sometimes there's a patch of grass at sticking up. Eric decker is going to trip over that Bill. It happens. You did there. You can't you can't expect those kinds of things you cannot expect perfection in football. You could practice perfection. You could practice trying to be perfect. But you cannot expect perfect you at the plan for failed. You hit the plan for when things go wrong, and you cannot sit there and have covers zero. You can't have Justin Simmons it man on elite wide receivers in the NFL. It's not gonna work. So it's like the details as we're talking about the details with Vance. I think he also got at least year one. He got saddled with McCoy as OC. And he probably didn't know enough at that point to know, what he was really getting into think maybe thinking at an look I felt that this trap a little bit saying, okay. Gonna hell the offense. He's he's going gonna lock that down. Vance Joseph who doesn't really have a lot of experience with that is going to be the CEO type. That's a quarterback in college should have experienced with an often. Did you did you get a vibe at all that he had five yet it on defense? His tenure in Miami. It was good. I assure Vance interviews. Well, I'm sure he's a good football. I'm trying not to I don't want to make this necessarily a complete like not trying to trash Vance and try to be honest. But but I tend to be the kind of guy that wants to learn the lesson. Okay. So when we talk about Paxton, for example, it is a want to learn the lesson. What what happened with Paxton that? You you missed on in your evaluation of him, you evaluated the tools, but not the man. That's what was so. There you go. You didn't know that? Didn't really have the drive to be graded as craft. Paxton was a guy who always got by and superior athleticism and talent and got the NFL and thought that was going to work for him and it didn't. And ultimately when you're the guy would rather play fortnight than crack open the book, and you know, and be and be the guy become the guy. Right. It'll happen. So they didn't do that. With drew lock as a man dulack is kind of the opposite right nine Andrew has the physical tools. All you have to have a conversation with your life to know that you go to you go to Vance. What did they what did they miss? We're doing self scouting. You got a guy who's a novice who had been around long enough had seen enough had been put no situations enough. And that's tough to do give. It Vic hasn't been. Putting those situations that had defensive coordinator with the coaching resumes is terrific as a D C. But he's seen it all. I mean, he's been there enough. Look, that's an easy one. Right. So no question about it as a DC versus what Vance was as a DC. We're not even talking to the same ballpark. I I'm with you on that willing to walk that. But you still went to a rookie head coach. We we thought after the Vance Joseph era, the Broncos were likely to take a look at a retread potentially. Chuck Pagano was considered Ryan who had already been there might be a name who's considered. Now, he's brought up but you have previous head coaching experience on this staff and Mike much. Right. A hundred percent. So you have a guy who's been there. Now that can be beneficial. If that guy is committed to the job that he's doing with dance. It was the other way around you had an offense coordinator who is committed to getting his next job. Head coaching gig. Well, in my book, ROY do you kind of have that right now? Kangaroo. He's a first time. He's that committed to that. But you can't tell me after having a Cup of coffee with the Shanahan's or the McVeigh's check out here. Looking for his next head coaching gig Macek is at Pushkin Carello. But that's what I was getting up as the previous head coach. And so he could be relied on because he's committed to what he's doing in Denver. So he could be relied on for that Mike McCoy couldn't be relied on that might McCoy was sniffing around for his next job before he even put in the work on this one. And we we kind of speculated that might be the case anyways when he was here, but the problem for me with McCoy boy you wanna talk about the stereotypical. I run my system, and I'm not always running to the strengths of the guys that I have on my roster because I and it's a bit of the I'm putting on my resume. What I think other teams wanna see to help boost myself again not coming back to what would work best for. I don't know Trevor simian what would work best for the team the players that I have in this current roster. But the guy the guy who succeeded him didn't do that either guys succeeded him took one look at case keenum and one hundred eighty degrees the other direction and said I'd like to run things that you're terrible ad in say was better. They didn't learn their lesson with that. I think that's part of the thing. I think that is part of the south scouting say. Hey, look, we need guys who we need coaches who are going to come out here and maximize the talent that we have and put these guys in the best position to that's coaching is being a head coach in offense and defense coordinator is putting your guys in the best possible position to succeed at the end of the day. It doesn't matter what your system is. If your system can't make elite talent work your system is the problem that the players, but you, and I both know that coaches don't always feel that way. Now that one thing that Vic Fangio that. I will I will ride with you on this that I've liked so far is about teaching. And not just teaching the teaching the coaches, right? They they've they've already established a bit of that system in place where it's about sort of filtering from the.

"Foot fetish festival, but. Rex Ryan is there MC. I was just one one thought. But that's okay. That is. I wanna screw that one up. This tweet is out there from shefty from fifteen minutes ago. He said this week, Sean Payton has spoken to Roger Goodell as VP of officiating at river on EDP of football operations. Troy, Vincent com committee, chairman rich McKay, it was explained to Payton, it's a call that officials should make Goodell also spoke to saints owner. Gale Benson, Diana thought. And that's because it came out yesterday where Ben Watson their tight end and one of the most respected guys in the league. Think he's involved in the union to send out a tweet to Roger Goodell Roger Goodell publicly come out and said or apologize to the saints or to its players or publicly at least luck. This is on us. We own this the wrong teams in the Super Bowl. And I don't know if they would ever Quaco that far because there's still a kicked it needs to be made. But. I saw a lot of people saying get over it already to Ben Ben watts get over it. Now there there are some ridiculous things coming away from the saints. There's like a lawmaker who's in congress trying to I don't know what he's trying to do. But. For anyone telling the players on the saints or saints fans to get over it and Benoit's retiring as well. So you had that into the mix and it's his last game. It's been five days. I wouldn't get over it. How could you ever get over that? I I'm not yelling at the saints or their fans to get over it. This is a sham the wrong teams in the Super Bowl. And I don't care if Sean Payton should have been more conservative and should have run the ball more. I don't care that. There were more plays that they could have made that they could have scored more touchdowns instead of kicking more field goals. Does it go into the whole thing that they'll look at in south scout, of course. But the fact remains in the wake of all of that the NFL screwed up and the saints should still be in the Super Bowl. And it never should have been a mistake. That was made. We also talked briefly yesterday about Roger Goodell speaking like an ahead of his state of the union address at the Super Bowl and. I saw Mike Mike Golic. This morning tweeted that it's really not necessary. I disagree with Mike. I and I said it yesterday. I I don't think just because he's speaking at the Super Bowl means that he should wait until then I mean, I I would have no problem. In fact, I would have advised if they would have asked for my advice, which they didn't for the Commissioner to make a statement. Now. Right. Even if it's on paper. Yes. I mean, listen, I'm not suggesting that there's a ton to gain from from doing it other than, hey, you're in charge of the league or you're the face of the league and one of the largest miscarriages of of referee malpractice, was was just experienced. I know you're going to speak at the Super Bowl in Atlanta and a week have a comment, right? After it came out if he would have put something on paper that says we have high. We have we have the highest of high standards in the NFL and the the missed call in in New Orleans. Yeah, is something that we are going to look into. It's a call that should have been made. And we will look into it in the offseason to see if we could put in preventative measures. You know, I'm not saying that they should promise any preventative measures. Because the issue George mccaskey said it may not pass in the competition committee inability to challenge that but Roger Goodell needed within twenty four hours. I think so come out at least with the statement if you wanna put something on video tweeted out from the league office. I mean for goodness sakes. You're the top of the top. You get paid forty million dollars. Forty five million dollars you hold your players accountable. Whether it's for kneeling whether it's for a late. Hits. Whether it's four, you know, all breaking the law, you need to be held accountable as the Commissioner. I I know what Mike was saying. Mike was basically saying look he's going to speak in Atlanta. I get that. I thought it would have been a better look for the Commissioner's office to actually like you said you ain't have to step in front of a microphone or a camera issue statement if marshawn Lynch says I'm going to speak in a week and a half dozen speak after a game. What is the league say? Now, that's not the conduct our players to to go by. I mean, let let's get an immediate response to this. So three one I like anyone yelling at the saints or their fans to get over it. Where do we see? Did you see this on Twitter? A lot of people. I think Jason Whitlock on FOX had this Gilmore when he get over it. Loss of a career for I would say ninety nine percent of those guys. I started to see a lot of backlash on Twitter now to from people that are, you know, as as you mentioned there was a Senator on the floor today. They had pictures, right? That's going over the top of people. You know, they quote tweet that and they say, okay, it's time for fans to get over this the super bowl's in a week you lost. There's not gonna do anything to change. The fact that to re do the game they're not gonna replay just fine. But don't tell the players dogs. Get over it. The saints fans to get over is still the lawmakers to go where they have no impact whatsoever to be this being discussed in the wake of a government shutdown. I don't wanna you don't wanna get too political on top of it all, but you know. Two is a fan. I would never get over it ever the saints should be in the Super Bowl. Drew Brees is forty drew Brees should never get over it. He's got one ring. He should be playing for another ring a week from Sunday three one two three three three seven seven six socks. Fastest today will Manny Machado be a number of the White Sox soon and one member of the team when the detail about its pitch four Manny Machado..

"When a coach wins. But when he gave those guys he's been a very player friendly coach is quarterback was under scrutiny after his third game. And they got to a game plan where you could throw six touchdowns. I would think they did a good bit. At least the coaches of self scouting over this past week. I've got that to Maggie was asked. Did you south scout during the bye week not as much as you would normally find if you had a by another four weeks down the road, the library of tendencies isn't as high as what you'd normally think? So you kind of have a feeling idea. What you think you're going to see? So for the most part, I think for us. We didn't go to crazy with the self scout part of it just because of that we went more into. You know, how can we prepare for Miami? And then what are the the minor things if any that change game plan specific. And so there's some of that which I'm not gonna get into obviously through the media. But I think we're in a good place right now. And we're we're not gonna we're pretty healthy, mentally, we're in a good place physically. We're in a good place. So now, it's just a matter of hey, this is the first quarter of the season. We saw three quarters with a game plan changes in adjustments are the result of self. Scouting. You look at what you did. Well, you kind of recap. What she did. I guy hasn't been written that most teams do this down. There's a guy whose specific job is to scout Nagy and the bears offense like he's an opposition. Right. They don't want to become either complacent or too repetitive with the play calling. Yeah. Negatives actually asked that a couple of weeks ago and one of his I think Wednesday oppressors, and he said, yes, we have someone on that every week. Always go. Yeah. It's cool. The way this stuff. Solves seen a lot baseball with all the analytics. And I gotta remind me to before we leave the Cowboys going against every analytic out there. Ridiculous ridiculous. Shefty a great rant today. But it was not one of the stories that come out of the bears today returning is they could have one player who's upset with his role and navy addressed that today, we'll get to that here in a minute. Hey coming off their bye week. Chicago was heading to Miami.
