"Think, a little bit needed to someone had to address it in an absurd humorous kind of way. And I'm glad that it's self pork. If people are going to watch this and go like, okay, maybe I won't do that next time. I don't know, Jen. I think that this is just indicative of where we are with crypto, right, to be featured on South Park. It's kind of like a cultural moment, and I know that Matt Damon commercial, I mean, the Matt Damon mentioned came out in prior South Park episodes, but I think this just speaks to the fact that crypto is becoming more and more mainstream the fact that it made it into the South Park movie. It was a common thread common themes throughout the South Park movie. I think that's a really good sign, like crypto is becoming really aligned with what's happening in culture and what we're talking about in culture. And I think it's a great sign for what's going on. I will say, though, all of these celebrities who came out and were endorsing crypto during the bull market have gone really quiet. And I think that right now there's a really big opportunity for those celebrities and influencers who actually believe in crypto, which maybe none of them did and that's just becoming more clear now to take this opportunity to educate their audiences. And so I think there's that missed opportunity and all these celebrities we spoke about last year should be educating their audiences right now. There's a really great opportunity for them to do that with the brands that they've partnered with as well. But Adam will give you the last word. Yeah, I'll just say this. We live in a time of incredible mania. And we live in a time where everything has become a casino and where there really are no, as we talked about earlier this week, any safe places to hide with your money. So on the one hand, yes, this is all madness and everybody who's behaving in a way that falls into this mania are behaving in ways that is mad. But at the same time, if that's the world that you live in, it's hard to hold it against people. So I come back to that, you know? Again, like cryptocurrency and all of these things, they're about presenting forms of unstoppable competition. They're about presenting better options to people so that they can make choices within their lives that are good for them rather than good for some anonymous collective that they might be a part of. So for all of that, the bear market is still here, but I think the hope and the potential for crypto really remains very strong, even in these difficult times. So Jen, I think that's about it for us today. What do you think? What a positive way to end the show with that final word. I loved it. We're going to take a weekend, maybe watch the South Park movie, and we're going to be back on Monday. So thank you everyone for watching on coin desk TV. "I know. I know. It's right. So before we go into our before we go into the discussion, let's just remind everyone, let's look at one of the ads that are being made fun of in the new South Park movie. Let's look at crypto dot com's ad that featured Matt Damon. Who do we have sound? I don't think we have audio audio on it. Yeah, will's going to give us a bold 40 times and then he just looks into the camera. And it works, right? I bought like ten Bitcoin after I saw this. The whole thing is just I watched some of the South Park stuff and I'm not going to lie, it was funny, but it was a little jump the shark esque, right? They were kind of reaching for it. I'm all for making crypto jokes though. I think that's literally what crypto Twitter is about is just making fun of each other in the most aggressive and mean spirited way possible and whoever survives typically survives the bear market. So South Park, I think, needs to step it up. That is my takeaway, but animal threat to you. Yeah, I love South Park. South Park is one of my all time favorite shows for a long time. They've been very fearless about going after sort of sacred cows. And I actually think over the last number of years, South Park has significantly scaled that back and has gone after safer topics, and that's what I would characterize this at. As you said, well, you know, it's a little bit of a jump the shark thing, and they actually already did an episode in the very last season on the Matt Damon ad. So it's interesting that they wound up blowing that into the thing. There's this whole episode where carpin goes around talking about how everybody lost their money because they believed that they listened to Matt Damon when he said fortune favors the bold and so there's like entire episode about it already. So it's interesting to see them go after it in a longer form, but it's not ultimately surprising. And I think the thing that I hope for is that it's as entertaining as they have been in the past because it can be pretty funny when they get to be a little bit mean. Anyways, this Sunday, what do you think? I don't know, I love this. I mean, it's so smart right. They push, they

Will There Be Charges Against Hunter Biden & Joe Biden?

"For two years, people were shut down. Donald Trump tried to raise Hunter Biden's shady business deals with China. Oh, he's crazy. He's just Donald Trump. Biden said there's nothing to it. Well, settle in and witness the unfathomable. Here is NBC's Hallie Jackson, the morning on The Today Show. Hey there, Craig. Good morning to you. And this morning, we're learning more about the president's son and the paying off of a multi-million dollar tax bill he owed. Now the open question for both Hunter Biden legally and President Biden politically is whether or not there will be any charges in this federal criminal investigation. With federal prosecutors poring over Hunter Biden's finances, investigating whether he violated federal tax law this morning a representative for the president's son tells NBC News, his IRS Bill totaling about $2 million has been paid off. Two people familiar with the matter. Say the money was arranged by one of the younger Biden's new attorneys. Hollywood lawyer Kevin Morris, best known for brokering a deal for the South Park TV show. Does paying that tax bill wash away any liability that Hunter Biden may have now? Paying the tax bill. If in fact that's what he did, doesn't undo the crime. It would be like returning money to a bank that you robbed. You still rob the bank. The president's son and his company brought in about $11 million between 2013 and 2018 working as an attorney, a board member to a Ukrainian gas company accused of bribing a prosecutor, and for a joint venture involving a Chinese businessman. Now accused of fraud, according to an NBC News analysis of a copy of Biden's hard drive, and iCloud account obtained by NBC from a representative for Rudy Giuliani, as well as documents released by a Senate committee. During the campaign, then candidate Biden denied his son profited off of China connection.

Phelim McAleer's Film Set Was 'Infiltrated' by Hunter Biden's Lawyer

"So what you're talking about took place in November, you're filming this film and somebody comes claiming to want to make a documentary. About Hunter Biden. And his name was Kevin Morris. He's an Uber Hollywood lawyer. They flew in on a private chat. He's part of the South Park team that the cartoon adult cartoon. The book of Mormon, they do that. They've just signed a $900 million streaming deal. He said they were going to expand their content in their own making documentaries. And they wanted to come on Saturn film a certain interviews with me and the interviews with the actors, which they did and we give them unprecedented access, fast forward to promote the film, of course. The film. I mean, by the way, I'm pretty open, anyway. Fast forward, I opened the newspaper as they say, the other morning. And it turns out Kevin Morris is not a retired lawyer. He's a very active lawyer. He's representing Hunter Biden. His job is to craft legal and media strategies for Hunter Biden. Part of that job and part of the thing he wants to do is discredit people who are spreading smears about Hunter Biden, discredit. I think he means spreading the truth. Exactly. He wants. Yeah, he wants to, he wants to make the truth sound like mere smears. And so he literally flew across the Atlantic Ocean to Serbia in a private jet on whose dime I don't know. Good question. In order to get this information from you, misrepresenting who he was. Totally. And you know, that's an ethical breach for a lawyer with harder doubt, not saying. Even for a lawyer, and we know they're not averse to ethical breaches. But in this case, a clear ethical reason. It was someone infiltrated the set of miser hunter under false pretenses. Now, partly, maybe he is making a documentary, but he's also representing his firm admitted to CBS News that he is representing Hunter Biden and he is crafting a legal and media strategy for Hunter

"West Bengal capital of Kolkata to visit an historic cemetery in the city. Now located in the heart of downtown on a busy thoroughfare, this burial ground has occupied the site for over 250 years, and is protected by the archeological survey of India. To tell us the story of how this window to the past came to be, and how modern coal cutter interacts with what remains, Sally Howard brings us this tool story. Behind hybrid walls at the intersection of central Kolkata's Mother Teresa and lower circular roads, where rickshaw horns bleat and the chatter of a fast modernising city rises into the humid subtropical skies of the gangetic plain, 1600 souls are laid to rest. The incumbents of the ancient South Park street cemetery, which was opened in 1767, and used until the 1830s a British. The hopefuls and lumens who arrived here on the fast merchant ships of the East India Company. Their final resting places, tombs, muscular mausoleums, and prior senators are a melting pot of east meets west design influencers. From richly ornamented European gothic to indo saracenic styles, ornamented by a chaos of obelisks, cairns, urns, and sarcophagi. The tombs are small houses, said rajar kipling of the cemetery in the city of dreadful night, an 1880s short story. It was as though we walked down the streets of the town, so taller than so closely do they stand, a town shriveled by fire and scarred by frost and siege. Men must have been afraid of their friends rising up before the due time, so afraid that they waited them with such cruel mounds of masonry. The cemetery no longer welcomed the dead, yet it attracts hordes of the living. Office working locals come here to eat their lunchtime tiffin. Tourists arrive, looking for a moment's peace from the maddening crowds. Bougainvillea and fragrant Indian almonds bloom here and the centuries of moss cloaking these tombs offers a pleasingly cooling effect in the monsoon heat. They come too for the inscriptions which tell of deaths by hazards such as childbirth, tropical diseases and melancholia. One Thomas doily died with some novelty from an inordinate use of the hooker pipe and pool rose Alma met her fate after eating too many pineapples. In the modern Indian imagination, however, South Park street cemetery is best known as the setting for spooky photo shoots in films. Locals stand by a belief that during monsoon, the grave of one captain E S dennison and family, a small pyramid shaped structure in the heart of the 8 acre compound, oozes a red substance resembles blood. This led to its nickname that bleeding too, a legend given weight by the fact that the 6 denizens died within a week of each other, of unknown causes in 1806. Such superstitions have led to the cemeteries appearance in recent decades in photo shoots for Bengali pop bands in Indian high fashion. It has a starring role in the hit movie or a standing fab de her. A 2010 Bengali thriller which charts detective for looters canny deductions after he arrives in South Park street cemetery in a violent storm, and discovers that one of the cemeteries graves, that of a shadowy figure named Thomas Godwin has been freshly dug up. In the end, the scariest thing about South Park street cemetery is not the ghoulish legends, local guide ammo tells me. But how brief these colonial lives were. Many of South Park street's incumbents, lacking immunity to tropical disease, died as children, or in their 20s. After all, if those mosquitos don't get you, the pineapples will. You've been listening to tall stories, a monocle 24 production. Today's episode was written by Sally Howard and produced an edited by David Stevens. I remember to tune in on Thursday for the full 30 minute edition of the urbanist. I'm ajit tuck, goodbye, and thank you for listening.

But right now we're going to do a geek out card and your first challenge for movies is to name 6 actors or actresses who appear in the Back to the Future franchise 6 actors or actresses from Back to the Future. For TV 6 TV dads, can you do that? For literature, two titles with the word world in the title. For music, four songs that have been billboard number one songs in the last 5 years, and for miscellaneous for actors who have played Santa Claus, that's a good card. I think I could do all those. That's pretty awesome. And I hope you have fun warming up your trivia pipes for today's episode. If you like themed trivia. For example, Harry Potter. This whole week, I'm doing Harry.

"Hundred thousand well-trained well-equipped best troops in the world. That we've been yeah right day folded like a house of cards. When the taliban started to take things over he was dead. Wrong and the best. He can stay now as well. It win a little faster than we thought it would. Yeah right it did. The taliban has gone faster than anybody had. Maybe expected but there were people who knew that it was going to happen at some speed. They were gonna take over so anyway. Here's the point. I'm trying to make president. Trump had actually made a decision to get out but not the way biden. Did it as a matter of fact. I know for absolute truth that there are units of the us military. That were that. Were still going to be going to afghanistan as late as november or december of this year. Why because we had to provide a protection to those people i mentioned before our own people working there in our embassy to start with but other people who were there on all kinds of contracts thousands upon thousands of american citizens spread out through the whole country of afghanistan had to be protected if we were gonna pull out in so this pullout needed to be done in a very organized way so if president trump was was going to pull out he also knew that had to go in with some more units to kind of be things up to get out safely not only for us but for these afghans who had been friendly helpful in very important to us and if the taliban was going to take over just as happened over. The last few weeks be literally slaughtered by the taliban in afghanistan because of president. Biden's totally wrong decision as to how to pull out it was. It was an impulsive thing. That just made no sense in to blame it on. Trump is totally wrong because he was still going to keep.

"John clark by the way you probably said that doesn't sound at all like mornings with get in. It's not it's me anyway. Gail taken one of those well-deserved days off. And i'm just thrilled to be able to be here and spend some time. O of we got a show for you today. Let me tell you there is a lot going on well. One of the first things we're going to talk about is Some of the things that have kind of kind of saved up here. Probably probably the most important thing. I wanna talk about right now. Did you know that there's a chance there costs benita could open up again. Yes there is definitely an opportunity. You probably heard the guys from south park now. They just signed some. I don't know. I'm milly hundreds of millions of dollars contract. I don't know if i'm wrong on this. This sounds like a lot of money. Nine hundred million. that's correct. Yeah thank you ryan When i read it. I thought who. What could you possibly due to get nine hundred million dollars. That opportunity does not present itself in my chosen vocation of professional photography or my avocation of radio. No we thought. But they're on tv right everywhere everywhere so so anyway. Here's the point. These guys have evidently entered to injured into. I should say on agreement by casa bonita. Now i the owners said not not for sale enough as any went through bankruptcy court that that'll do wonders for your financial outlook on. Thanks all right and after that now he suddenly talking like. Yeah they the south park guys even say we have a contract that as soon as this whole thing and bankruptcy which takes a little while to kind of work through it I guess. I've never done it but i but i understand it takes time in once. That's over. They've got a contract now. They want to buy it for good reason. It's a cool place. Anybody ever been to.

"I think it's just kind of as like, about yourself. Remember different show, obviously, but wage. When Rick left walking dead. Send a three-picture deal. Yeah, we're watching. We haven't seen a single one every like every couple of weeks, I thought. Oh yeah. It's going to start filming real soon. I think it's going to start filming like in a month's time. It's like okay. Yeah, you know, I know they don't really exist. I know somebody got held up because of Corona, right? And that's you know that that's all legit reason. I do love the now I'm caught up on the show, we won't spoil things for people, but I do love how now it's very convenient that another character can join him on these movie Adventures. Yeah, right. So you know what I'm talking about mature but anyway, so far lots more on the way and as new news comes out, well, we'll keep you updated, but all right. Let's there's very little piece this week, so somebody was kind of off. About is, you know, this is our first quality release season with the new generation, right? And, you know, I think a lot of every kind off into the Next Generation gaming with an idea of like what is this going to mean to me, Etc. And I do want to talk a little bit about that, but first, let's hear from our friends and our sponsors with our initial wouldn't be possible and let's start with that online energy. So the NFL preseason is officially underway. The first preseason game was just couple of days ago, the the NBA's of philosophies and modus. Is there any trouble baseball's going on. Pennant race is underway and the English clearly kicks off and just a couple of weeks now week or two. So it's right around the corner off. And you don't want to miss out on the action here at all, and getting it on all the action, or better line. A g. It's easy to sign up and play. "Actually so South Park and the Arts, especially around the 2015 election, that really killed it for me. It was. Yeah, I mean I can, I can go with that. I, I did watch. I tend to dive into the older Seasons again. Oh, for sure. Yeah, well it seems like the right. I'm sorry. Yeah, that's my next one's. The reason season was like the city part Town one. You know, where the Whole Foods open up and it was all that type of thing like that she's my liked But I don't know which number it was, but I think that long of the more Arcane thing is help them plan out a little more, not decrease, some of the stress involved which good, right? Like if we end up getting more south as a result of that, I'm good with that. But I'm with you, I there were some golden episodes from back in the day and some of the I will say now some of the stuff off, we're like from seasons one through, probably eight, maybe maybe somewhere in there like if it released now. It would not be okay with some people but the nearest South Park. It's yeah. But I'm excited to see new game and I'm excited to see them at least six more seasons and 14 movies. So it's I've just been a fan of the series for a long time. So I always say like obviously Stick of Truth is like that fantasy off. Like Lord of the Rings, a strike obviously took that the the show and obviously, for example, homeless, that's super hero stuff, which again was ripped. Right? From the show, em what the theme will be in the next game? That's a good question cuz I called I called I can't either unless you sent me from a legacies. And like, obviously I haven't seen, I'll have to go through and watch it and try and brainstorm what it could be or maybe I just brains. I just watch all twenty-three for whatever seasons and like that's what I watch every single episode. Almost wonder if it'll, I bet you need anything. It'll be around like 10:30 farms in some way. Yeah, I I assume the same because that reflect the the things going to really Central Park, their story lately. So not just last season either, right? But the one before it. So, I would imagine that's going to be a big part of it, and it gives you another area in the game to, to play, right? So, which is Thursday, but I I'm with you, like, I love the Simplicity of the South Park, Stick of Truth. And I just love being able to go around the town of South Park and and feel like I am in an episode. Yeah, that was yep. Park. So I would imagine this game has absolutely no window Hook released yet. I would think we're probably what? Five years I thought would you say yeah I'd say four or five probably yeah yeah yeah. Four or five maybe 20-25 maybe. Yeah I almost feel like it's something if they're planning on season 32 be the final season of the show. It's almost launched the game really close to alongside that Vegeta me all planning to be the end of the show cuz I mean maybe but I just don't see a lot more like not as things. Got another nine hundred million dollars. I'm probably not. So I mean it's like The Simpsons people, I think people stop talking about like, when will The Simpsons end because it's just never going to never going to win. So, and there's argument that maybe it shouldn't like big deal, if you don't like it, don't watch it, right? And if enough people say, I don't like it. I'm not going to watch it anymore. Don't want right back. But so far that hasn't happened on the movies front. Like, yeah, I don't think there's any timeframe there..

"And so, I'm excited to see another game coming. Fourteen, new movies and for Paramount Plaza play. I don't know why I'm assuming by move. They're thinking more towards the like like the pandemic specials. Yeah. Then like the actual South Park movie from ninety-nine or whatever. So I'm fine with that though. I think you know if you can extend out and tell a story over the course of what would be like three episodes. Cool. I'm good with that. Yeah, I just read. I'm used to those longer episodes being like topical, you know? I mean they they are or they happened because there's like a an event happening in real life. You know. I mean it's something's going on and they want to address it and they address it in a room full episode. Like I, I wasn't even alive when they did the movie. Yeah. I was, I was, you know, have you seen it though? I don't think I have usually used to watch it when I hear for see movies. I had a great probably going to be like, just like long episodes and but it does. I wonder how the guys do it. If they got 14 movies, like prepped in their minds, you know, I mean, if they like gone to the writers room and phone number, Miss or is it just not when we when something happens in the world? We're gonna make a long full episode. Yeah, we're going to make the movie. I think it's more that and if you've there's a documentary out there that's called like 6 days to something, it's about how they make episodes of that show. And basically they no idea like going into the day after an episode premieres and they going to start the next pack idea, what it's going to be about. For the most part. Yeah, I'm in another hearing that. Yeah, yeah, I think now they planned out a little more cuz of the seasons are little shorter. Their ten episodes of seven and they have gone away from this. Now he's they have story lines like across the seas. And yes, it's all pretty proud of some of the artists have been very good though and some have not..

"I was moving at the time from Once they to another and it was a thing where I had kind of a bit of a highest level slash layover for a few days and I just sat there in a hotel and played, you know, the the fractured but whole and it was great. I never finished the price of oil. I remember starting it and playing it for a bit, but I I remember that are full of, this isn't fixtures. It's just not as good in any way. Like I just I could even the things that stick of truth is worse. I was better in my mind like wage. Not be charged because just as a package, its shortcomings made it. I don't know. It was in just felt. Yeah, yeah, I don't it just it took me back and the fractured but whole and change certain things and then it also just have this like modern Sleek feel. It was kind of like a good point. Right? But also like I kind of like six feet on a little bit shoddy or I suppose a little bit like old-school like you know like sticks together. Yeah friendship behold. He had like I'd say he's in the weirdest criticism ever had too much production value. Yeah. No I think that's a fair point. I still think it's worth finishing. I think it's just fine and I think the game is fine unless you're comparing it to Signature, but it's hard not to do. I think, I jumped into when I think I played stick of truth cuz you know free because off Or differentiable whole I'm just hurting of troops are good and I was like, I really want to jump in. So I think I bought Frank gibeau and I got sick of 243 played that and then tried vegetable him was like this is not a good memory. Yeah, yeah. It's like I said, when you're, when you're comparing it to signature, that's not as good. But like on its own. It's fine. It's if it was the only self-parking that was out there in the last generation. I would say it's a decent effort, right? Yeah, excuse me, it's played when I was younger. So I say discovering save a fourteen-year-old, it's really more like ten. I was probably around 10 when I was, like, great again in South Park cuz I remember it was like, towards a year. Five, six of primary school and there was a tower defense game on the 360. Yep. I like everything about it, I remember playing it for hours, like I must have laid out for a year plus with one of my best friends at a time and I can remember specific level by you but member pick comes. I think in you have to like, you know, like defend and make sure you didn't get through like the map. Such a brutal game. I not all in the spirit of Stick of Truth or write your boor hole. Like, like I say, it depends in D but it's yeah. All right, so good. Did you play that game? I have played it. I don't remember much about it, cuz I ain't played a ton, but I did play it and, you know, I know there's there there were. I knew people that really liked them, but like, our defense needs at least at that time. Not my, not my jam, but it was, I'll give anything with supper go home. I just love the shows, like over-the-top nature. They like, they'll dress, like, I don't know. Serious topics, I guess, for lack of a better term but they'll do it is not your like over-the-top way. "This here because it's including the game. Did you play Stick of Truth or fractured but whole affect you. Oh yeah, great great video game. Yes, I played. Stick of Truth is one of the most fun games I've played in the last High School seniors. Yeah, it's so good. Yeah, I agree. One of my favorite games, like pong combat was better in fractured, but whole, but the thing where he was so good, the character, like, it's a stick of truth. So, like, like, Old like original side, you know, just it was because it was yeah it just captured everything that was ever shown respectable how I think kind of Tainted more towards similar system that I didn't enjoy it. Yeah, they did though. They they basically said with fractured but whole they took everything from Stick of Truth on the show up to release of fractured. That was the content of the game. Yeah. And there there was even like cuz I know there were multiple delays with the game with both games to the point where in the first, the first game they may get a three-part black Friday's Trilogy of of episodes about it. Then ended up with the game them saying it's finally company, we promised wage but it also rent it also like rolled in the console Wars and all that stuff. Like where ya where they really find out where in Red Robin, right? Yeah, yep. My favorite because it also rolled in, it also rolled in Game of Thrones. Yes. Yes. Yes. So, all of that was going on at the same time, it was great. It was a Grade Three partner. And then the second game, there were rumors that and that never, like, you know, confirmed or anything, but rumors that one of the delays was caused by the results of the 2016 presidential election here in the US. Which made them kind of go. We do well that reached a sort out quite yeah. So The first game I thought was classic South Park, I think it was I forget it's best not that the show has gotten bad, it's just I don't know. It's it's less like that. Pure innocent fun, you know and it's more topical. Now it's much more interesting like you end up going up mr. Slaves off the bad. You know, I guess? Yeah. So let me rephrase less like politically driven. Yes, yeah we'll go that route. I guess that's what I mean by that more slowly because I'm craving to have things that are maybe politically check it out once in a while. So but that was but like that level that you just referred like I spent the entire time playing it just laughing. Yeah. Like three acting as well. Not just like huh. Yeah. I'll just like a no snow. It was I was like some of the moments in that game. Yeah, maybe maybe feel like a fourteen-year-old, kid. Discovering South Park, right? And the the level, where you go into Canada and everything, turns into a fantastic. It's great. I think everything about it is so loud on, so I'm hoping that the new South Park game will be much more like the first one with maybe the combat of the second Egg and I, you know, the sighting game, by the way. Not bad. It's not bad game. It's fun, and it's fun. It's just, I play a pretty quick. Actually, I played over a course of a couple of days off. I was actually moving. Excuse me..

"I think both things because he doesn't necessarily have to be involved as a director on all these projects. I mean even on the peacemaker series. He's not directing the episodes so I think that he could still do stuff at marvel if he wants to. I think maybe right now. Maybe he's a little more interested in some diese. Dc stuff gets a new sandbox a plan. He's been talking about finishing his run with guardians of the galaxy for a while. Now this third volume is intended to be you know the basically the end of the ark for this iteration of guardians of the galaxy. So he's already doing the holiday special before this. And i'm sure he's partially involved at least in that That group series that was announced by disney last year so. I think that he'll still be doing something immoral. But maybe his focus will be over at dc for for the next few years for a little bit. I wonder if it's the creative control not to say that he didn't have creative. Control and guardians galaxy. Obviously you know his his. His artistry is felt in every frame of those movies. Yeah but i'm guessing you know disney and marvel do kevin feige are saying no every once in a while to sell one of his crazy ideas so i think he over at warner brothers. Maybe he just. Has you know more creative control. And that's more appealing. Yeah i mean. I'm sure that the marvel sandbox is probably harder to plan now as marvel cinematic universe grows it limits kind of what you can do with certain stories And so i think that since. Dc has a fairly clean slate since they're trying to pull away from you know what's been established in the dc extended universe kind of do these things that aren't quite so integrated. It probably gives them a lot more freedom in that way too Before we get to the trailers we have one more story. I want to talk about today. Gwen tarantino all was going around a few years ago. Talking about how he wanted to the star. Trek movie almost happened. Actually and now he's going around saying he wants to do a rambo movie. Brad tell bennett i. He doesn't really want to do a rambo movie but like he just has this idea for if he ever wanted to make you know a movie that he knows would work than it would probably be this rambo movie that he's he's thought about this conversation came up in conversation on the big picture podcast where he was kind of talking about the fallout of death. Proof as part of the grind house double feature in being kind of a a flop for him in robert rodriguez. Nyu was talking about that. You know he talked about the idea about like you know if he says quote. I just wanted to make a good movie. That i knew it'd be good. I would take. David morals not will for first blood and do the naf not the movie that was made out of first blood. I would do the novel and kurt. Russell play the sheriff and adam driver would play rambo. Every time i read it the dialogue is so fantastic in the david moral novel..

It's the recent specials that they've done the vaccination special they did You know a previous special. They had as well. I think it was the holiday special. And so they've proven to be very popular still and it's just to show that stuck around for so long and people continue to watch it so it's you know it's one of those things where it's just a staple now of television essentially and it's gonna keep going as long as you know Viacom keeps ordering new seasons of

Been kind of made me think it was the episode where cowan his family moved to san francisco because his dad starts getting smug because he's driving a hybrid vehicle and of course everybody gets upset because he so smug because people hate others. Who were smug people hate. When other show excessive pride for no reason other than the fact that they feel superior which got me thinking about social media which got me to thinking about our political situation now and it's all about feeling important it's all about feeling superior and that's where smugness kinda comes in. I think social media is harmed. That i didn't see it coming and i'm the first to admit i was wrong. I only saw the upside to social media. When i started getting really involved in it in two thousand and five thousand and sixty thousand seven. I didn't realize what would become but this is all about. "Talking about this article from the new york times with the headline of walmart becomes largest. Us vaccine provider to join push for digital vaccination credentials vaccine at walmart. That's ghetto where else you gonna get. Walgreens i mean walking's just a little step up i don't know if you guys have seen it but it. They did a great job of the most recent south park episode. The vaccination special. I i have seen it i. Perhaps i wasn't in the. How do i say this. The correct state of mind to watch the episode. But i thought it was one of the least funny south park episodes. I've seen it. I don't know. I started cracking up right away. Everyone's trying to get in the walgreens because it's like a nightclub but the only people allowed in the old people only got the the old people get okay. That was funny. Yeah again perhaps. I was just not in the right state of mind if you are picking up on land. I liked the face diaper special. I don't know what they called that but that was pretty funny. The pandemic special. Yeah i i didn't understand what the pandemic special was. Until i watched the episode and then i was like oh the pandemic specialities so frayed. They were going to be like are no telling people like everyone needs to be wearing masks but no so at any rate people who get covid nineteen shots at thousands of walmart. And sam's club stores may soon be able to verify their vaccination status airport schools and other locations using a health passport app on their smartphones.

"I've no issues like that. I just start at the end of the day. it was completely unfunny. And i don't know if that's because i've missed a lot of the mythology but i did not laugh once at this thing. It was a complete toss at for me. The only two things. I wrote down that i found slightly. Humorous was a the rave music emanating from the walgreens thought was a was a funny touch and i thought jesus himself trying to get the vaccination was pretty pretty humorous too but neither were like moments actually made me laugh out loud or anything Yeah i don't know south just like i said maybe there's other episodes that are better. You're saying the other special was better than this. But i don't know. I didn't get any of the mr garrison stuff that was going on. Of course you're not going to get that because you haven't watched the past three or four seasons. Yeah exactly. it felt like those jokes were being written for people that were steeped into the mythology of those characters and that is not me so it felt like it was jokes made for for someone who wasn't me so i didn't think they were bad jokes. I just didn't understand the jokes and it didn't really do much for me. I did not care for this much at all if you're if you're a south park fan. I'm sure you'll probably enjoy this. But you haven't watched south park for six seven years and you decide that this is going to be your way to get back to open the door and get back into it. Th there's gotta be a better way than this greg. I'm exactly the person that takes describing. I still remember in college sitting on my computer and downloading that south park. It was like a pilot for probably like forty minutes to download and watching. I watched i watched that on fucking somebody had copied it on. Vhs over to the house from a comic bookstore like a bootleg vehicle. Yeah watch south park all the time in college. I don't remember the last time. I saw south park. I've got to tell you jake. I laughed my balls off. And i don't know it's like my really weird sense of humor. Every joke about the old people getting vaccinated in just str- just destroying society because they've been vaccinated. I was laughing so hard. There's this one scene where there's like a jeep full of six or seven old people piled in and they pull up to it was either to the reporter to the kids and the old guy goes. I'm going to go to a bar. It get some pussy fucking and our. I laughed throughout. I had belly laughs throughout this thing So much so that. I do want to go back and watch more south park. I'm precisely the person you're describing. But maybe it's because of the time and place that we're in right now. I just thought the timeliness of the humor is good. Yeah if you go back and you watch previous seasons like it is very much tailored for like what we're going through eh each season and you can. Pc principal pc principles the new principal of the school. And then there's a empowered female which is like his girlfriend and then they end up having babies and they're like the pc babies and it is. There's been some great fucking seasons of south park that have come out. I know like. I can't i can't speak i want to say rebecca loves it too. I know rebecca has been watching south park. And i wonder what she thinks about this. If she watched it but man. I loved the last three four seasons of south park. I dropped off. I said i'm done with family. I haven't watched family guy in like four years..

"The minute with kevin mason an old episode of south park of the night the episode with tom cruise and the scientologists and there was a line early napa so that probably watch us episode one hundred times and had never noticed before one of the kids was complaining about the fact that he didn't have any money saving up for a bike and -partment says. Don't you know the first law physics anything. That's fun cost at least eight dollars. I thought to myself there's some truth to that. Now south park being south park but at the same time our free things fun and is free really free. I remember back in radio. We had a rule. We never did free concerts. We always charged at least five dollars. The reason being we found that if somebody put five dollars down they were a little bit more respectful. They enjoyed themselves a little bit more. They weren't as well obnoxious as if it were a free show how. He's noticed that when things were free and people were getting stuff they were always wanting more they were never satisfied now. I don't know if the figures five dollars or eight dollars ten dollars and with the way of the world now who knows if that figures twenty dollars is anything really free. Is that the first fix. I'm joking but no way something to think about.

Building Products with Keith Pitt of Buildkite

"If you were to evaluate the landscape and let's say you. Let's say bill didn't exist today and you were to look at the available tooling out there and maybe find that there are some other self hosted kinds of things and would that have deterred you you know. Just kind of trying to rewind back if you had found something kind of filled that that need for you would you have gone and built something yourself or was that really the the critical kind of crux of the matter. That didn't exist yet and you wanted to. I think if i'd found what i was looking for the time i probably built it I just felt compelled for this thing to exist because my problem. The problem wasn't solved. If someone had sold to. Or any for me. I would have been great. I would have been very very happy and over the moon 'cause i'm way more about the problem being solved in solving the problem myself And so yeah. I think that if if the tool head existent of her would have used it already. But it didn't so i just felt like the need to build it so that's the story it it it was this. This need that you had and you were able to recognize that you're able to see clearly can of what you wanted to do. You saw the other competing or not even competing but can of the pieces of the puzzle. The different pieces of the puzzle One did one thing you liked another did another thing you liked but they didn't you know none of them did everything that you needed them to do. It wasn't necessarily. I'm going to put words in your mouth wasn't necessarily because it was a novel idea was because it was a mix of multiple ideas that had already been executed on just not together. Would that would that. Is that true. Yes that's right. I wasn't i took the best of both worlds sir Felicitous that may not know much about cic d- There are two different sort of flavors of cic d. The flesh flava is the self hosted option. And that's you run the tests yourself on sevens that you control and then you run the plane yourself as well And that's going to be done in in if you have a distributed team where the needs to access the tool from harm A lot of these tools aren't really that great of being run on open internet so a lot of sort of kept within. Vpn's or hidden inside offices that's the self hosted option. The other option is the hoisted cic de tolls Your circles you travis's and and those tools you handle that. Will you occurred to them and they manage the orchestration plane and the running tests yourself. The problem with that is twofold but the host options are two major problems. The first problem is you have to you. Have to handle a all of your employees if you want to do continuous deployment which i'm a big fan of Yet the beautifully keys to potty which for some organizations is inaugur the second problem is those tools ernie go so fast if you go to their pricing page. We'll see the slider that earning goes so far out of the rut and you can integrate lost without there. Being a big sign that says contact us to go foster And i didn't want any of those. I didn't accept the cons of the hosted option. It didn't accept the cons of the self hosted option. And so i was thinking to myself. Surely there is some middle ground And so i sort of set out to kind of cherry. Pick the best of both worlds sort of crepe credit mashup of what i thought would be the perfect tool and that's kind of how do was born and i wanted. I wanted to zero in on this idea. Because i think it's important to recognize especially for engineers who are kind of thinking. Oh i have this idea. And it doesn't exist but people can do it themselves if they go and you know mix x and y these two existing things out there A lot of these ideas that tend to be A kind of remixes of multiple other ideas together or you know taking one thing. The best of both worlds like you said. The new product is multiplicative in value. rather than additive. Right in other words somebody could probably go and run. You know two different things to get this same values but when you put them together. It changes the landscape. It's not the same thing is just running those two things back to back. It's changing Kind of the fundamental shape of that product in so it's important to recognize that because critic most critically i think a lot of people who are thinking about starting a business or they're you know they're they're thinking. Hey you know. I'm i'm might do the side thing. I might build a product on the side. I think a lot of them are thinking. Oh i have to come up with a truly new completely novel idea. or outs. Nobody's going to want it right. There can't be at shadow of this idea on the market. Otherwise you know it's it's already saturated every ideas already taken. And i have to come up with something totally new for to be successful and it couldn't be further from the truth. Yeah that's exactly right. There's no such really. there's no such thing as a new idea I think south park said it really. Well they have this episode of the simpsons already did it and there's a recurring joke where they have these themes or plots within the episode. But simpson's already done that particular plot. It's the same product as well. If you look at the big ones rubio burs taxis But they sort of took it and did a mash up and made it better airbnb. Her tells But they've taken it mashed up and made something new. See i city. I didn't invent the i. C d i didn't invent it at all. I just took the best of a bunch of really good ideas and put them together to create something new a new product. And i think that's kind of what a lotta the tools these days. I just improvements of existing ideas.

They're using it for fun. Of course. I'm thinking yeah sure. It's fun and it's cute now, but what's the danger deepfake technology has been used previously in movies and all the technology is getting easier and easier for more people to play with and of course when the fun starts off the bad people start coming in and Wile deepfake technology is fun for satire and playing around with apps on your social media. The bad people are about to come in and start causing a whole lot of trouble. We can't have all the fun things because somebody's got to come in and ruin it for us.

We normally debate moments boat. Many movements from Wimbledon over the past decade that we were kind of looking back through them. We all just H is just know enough say we're kind of doing this in teapot Sixteen. Tell you to, but we're just GONNA cut you the first eight day on and see how. So many to kind of two three. I'm also mentioned as well I. May my all whites as well summer, and getting into kind of like getting into the the women, the Wimbledon Spirit and Yes listeners, thanks for facts again in touch this. We put out to ask you. What are some of your dramatic moments from the uniform cade and we really appreciate you getting in touch. Who knows maybe you'll maidment will appear on the list, but yes, we will, of course say caveats. This is our list. This is purely our opinion. We think it's a pretty good list. There are some moments that you will be familiar with, but we think there are some vitamins I feel that have been you know maybe not. You might not be as familiar with, but yeah, let's get. Let's get into it starting a number sixteen in our countdown, and it's one I guess you know for British fans is a very a memorable I will say a fairytale story where we him back to Twenty-six. On its Marcus Willis and His run from you free. Pre would qualify to qualify to the main draw. To play Roger Federer. Is this more of a Fairytale Jolan Peter Cold winning Wimbledon in the film that we discussed on our lots podcast. Possibly say yeah. I feel like made some of our listeners from like ABC's might not even know of this story. They might even have never heard of Marcus Willis. British fans probably happen until two thousand sixteen. And Yeah. He came through the qualifying say. He was ranked down at like seven, hundred and seventy two in the world. Qualified One always marched and qualifying obviously. And then came up against recalled this baron case of I. Think he's Lithuanian in the first round, beat him. which she data alone is kind of pre. Wow, considering his ranking and the disparity between between the t pies and then. Who Does he then face in the second round, nee wombat reporter federal himself say oversee. That was going to be prime on sensical. And I guess teacups, isn't it? It's kind of like Oh. Marcus got through the second round. So annoying. He's paying federal. He could have a had charges against someone else, but on the other side is the actually if he's going to get through to the second round for like probably the only time in his career, he might as well Gad parents on Sundays go play unites the greatest champion. Wounds ever seen. Yeah. I, be the. The second camp I think if I'M GONNA. Go Out I. Want to go out in style and you know what better way to to go out. To have to have? Time, one of the greatest cross players of all time across across from you of from the net I think the story for me remarkable because the the the ingrained image I have in my head of Marcus Willis is. Is actually before this it wasn't. It's not baby. It was he was on like. He was like on a challenge tour event, and he had like a can of coke and a malls Baugh. One of his matches and Clemente to is like I think the commentator coming here. It was basically called him Kaufman for from South Park. and was like is this. Is this guy for real? Is The guy really heavy like? A cat of kind of self drake. Y-, you know tennis by the challenge, Tour and It just shows think it shows you the just the. It was just crazy the way he went from this sort of you know position where he wasn't really kind of know. Yes, he was talented, but I think he was really applying himself. It shows you I think it's a story that shows you that. If you do apply yourself, incredible things can happen and. You know, he went from literally like. Fee, Butts Four coaching is. Club. Thirty pounds of our lessons. To Yes said. Roger Federer, thank you very
