"Will be stepping it up. Starting Friday to officers on every corner, we're talking from about fifty to about fifteen street, which is our entertainment district, which is where all of this is concentrated on. And that's where we're putting our focus a team of twenty five in protective gear helmets and shields will be ready to move in to handle situations. Like, this basically feel more safe being here as a college student as a woman being in an area like this. It's really important to feel safe. The idea, but it's going to be like this Irish spring break. Let us have fun. Well, you and I know of spring break is the MTV spring breaks. Remember, the MTV spring breaks and south Padre island in Panama City and Fort Lauderdale. Okay. It's nothing like that. Because the women you saw on the MTV spring breaks, those weren't mostly college girls. College girls at the end of the first semester second semester. They don't look like that after eight weeks a pizza. And that was a problem for the MTV people. So they hired local strippers. They had local strippers come on. And those were college girls it was a show. There was only all that excitement and cheering when the cameras around the rest of the time. They're just people standing around waiting for the cameras to come on. But when I lived in Fort Lauderdale fascinating to be like right next to spring break, the thousands and thousands of kids who came to Fort Lauderdale for spring break because if you lived in Fort Lauderdale, you figured this would be a party, you know, go to the beach. We'll see all these twenty year old girls. Be fantastic. No, it wasn't like that. At all. It was like a movie. One hundred yards away. There was spring break. And it was a whole energy. It was all separate to itself. It was completely self-contained and the people of Fort Lauderdale starting in the eighties. And the reason why spring break isn't in Fort Lauderdale anymore starting in the eighties. They very quietly did what they had to do to get rid of spring break because Fort Lauderdale used to be a Long Beach line of motels little motels, mom and pop motels. That's what it was. There were no big resort hotels there. But there are now, but that took decades for them to get rid of spring break and to get rid of the little mom and pop motels. So they could bring Bill giant Marriott's was. But my parents would not let me go to spring break. Did you go to spring break? Did you have that opportunity? Eight eight eight six eight eight nine to five eight it was one of the ways my parents ruined my life. They did not let me go to spring break. How did your parents ruin your life? Eight eight. Eight eight.

"This. Frankie Frankie, Cali the mob, boss Gambino, family, reputed, New York Baba's killed last night outside his home. So the first thing that struck us what we heard about this early this morning. It's like, okay. Why would this guy go anywhere without his own security force? I mean, he gotta be competing gangs that want to take him out. And by the way, this this particular crime, boss, his records, actually, pretty clean, personally, but heroin, and Oxycontin, that's what they're really into a lot of people. This is an Italian mob. Lot of people right from Sicily. In fact, this particular organization that he was with they would recruit people from Sicily to come into the United States at work for them. So this happened about nine fifteen last night. That's where they got the nine one one call in in his neighborhood. But now, Katie we heard before he was shot several times in the torso. Now, I'm reading it was not only not only did he get shot. But after he was on the ground. It was like the person who shot him made sure that they took care of business by running over him. Oh, jeez. What the heck is like. Okay. And guess what? Now, we're going to run over. Yeah. Driver got away to blue pickup truck, which was probably stolen. Yes. Stolen pickup truck. Take care of business. Dumped the truck somewhere. They're never gonna fight. Now this person so long gone. Yeah. Well connected. And but I just again in my mind is like how could a guy like this who so powerful of the underworld do anything without a complete security force around him at all times, you that's really amazing. Yeah. You you would think that he would have elite. You know, somebody watching the house somebody with him at all times like secret service or their own version of secret service direct from Sicily. I love this town. There is a. This has been a spring break place forever. Those those of you who went to school in the mid west, you know, about this place is called south Padre island. It's it's very very popular with the students this time of the year. And of course, this time of the year, they're on spring break. So south Padre island, Texas. It's a tiny little community always has been only five thousand people live there. But during spring break, all the sudden, boom, you got one hundred thousand college gets so town of five thousand hundred thousand college gets its complete debauchery. And why do the residents of south Padre island put up with this? They've been putting up with it for decades. Well because because last year the students spent three point one million dollars alcohol alone during spring break. Of course. So south Padre. I mean again sleepy little town. It's a tourist town but only five thousand residents but during these couple weeks of spring break. The windfall for the businesses et cetera. It's like thirty four million dollars comes into the into the community. So yeah, the police are going to be busy. Yeah. Kids are going to be throwing up all over the place. Yeah. People are gonna be. Doesn't matter. Doesn't matter to them. It's pretty amazing kids, you you wonder how much of that money got turned around, and he had to be used for clean up after this mess that now I'm looking at some of the more. So the the the antics become more outrageous over time. Now, the latest craze is called ask slugging ask slugging. That's where beer is poured over girls behind to be drunk by boy. Oh, well, that sounds like a classy operation matters seen handing out beads in exchange for a look at at a squeeze at the women for women. So where is where is the the metoo movement? I'm just kinda wondering where all these these radical feminists during this. And then you got all these women who are doing this. You'd think that the women were top more properly at the colleges they're coming from. I am looking at the guys. I mean, my gosh shea by them what's going on here. Some of the photos from this. Oh, it should bring break get togethers. He's just. Yeah. These women are classless. And I guess the deal is Miley. Cyrus must have been the one who started this whole thing where you do oppose and stick out your tongue because this is what everybody does now. You could make the classic posts stick out your tongue. I've got this old soul complex. I'm looking at all these photos going. Oh my gosh. When their parents, see these. No, no here. Forget it this. Let's take it to another level. Oh my God. When their kids see these F. Yeah. That too. You know, what I missed? It's someday they are going to be parents and their kids are going to see this stuff. They'll never be able to run for president any any. There you go. Hey, blessing. Although maybe by that time, it's just going to be if you didn't do this something's wrong with you. But there's this great dichotomy. So on the one hand, you have this this movement that is purportedly all against this kind of stuff. And yet you have all of these kids at college, thousands and thousands and thousands who say screw that. Here. We go. Right. Amazing. We'll get that up for. I I'm looking at the Daily Mail story. That's the. Put it up on the blog for our people. Jim hers at our guide Hollywood's coming right up. Stay tuned. Are.

"Welcome to our little show popular question over the past few years and i think most of us come to the same agreement the question has been for a few years particularly states around the country have legalized recreational marijuana i've asked the question over and over and over again we'll marijuana be legalized in your lifetime and i think most people say now i would agree with you well what we didn't count on is the ability to talk about sin number two because you know so you in case you didn't pay attention your texas legislature is the moral compass of all people that's the way you want us he they governed for the suburbs about the suburbs and those who drive minivans that's the mantra of the texas legislature so they know what's best it is the moral compass now surprisingly didn't think we'd have this chance to talk about this subject but let's now talk about sin number two because it's not gonna take long the experts say for your political heroes at the legislature your moral compass with clip on ties to get bills legalizing sports gambling it's gonna come now what i guess i now have to ask the question will you have legalized sports gambling although the funny thing is what did we have to talk about just last week a lady from austin winning a million dollars betting on a horse race but yet we don't have legalized sports betting so you can go down the road to san antonio and bet on a horse race and in her case a rare case win but you're going to think that it's immoral to go up to convenience store in georgetown or go to a casino in south padre island that would be immoral that right the legislature is going to decide that that's going to be immoral but that lady driving down to a race track in san antonio winning a million dollars is okay you spending money on a lot of ticket and cigarettes because the state sanctions it is okay and that's moral but you going to south padre bet at a craps table or in georgetown in liberty hill on a football game that would be immoral there's gonna make sure we're all consistent on our morality today because it's going to come up.

"And the nfl the last couple of days have been very interesting to watch us react to a twenty two year old sexual assault indictment against now detroit lions head coach matt patricia now it was an indictment that was ultimately thrown out this was a statement where matt patricia said he was falsely accused of one count of sexually assaulting a woman in south padre island texas during spring break in nineteen ninetysix and matt patricia came out yesterday and actually addressed the media and continued to say that this was all completely false and maintained his innocence i'm here to defend my honor and clear my name twenty two years ago i was falsely accused of something very serious very serious allegations there were claims made about me that never happened while i'm thankful on one level that the process worked and the case was dismissed at the same time i was never given the opportunity to defend myself or to allow to push back with the truth to clear my name this was something that was very traumatic to me when i was twenty one years old and once it was finally addressed i tried to put it behind me now worth noting and all of this that the indictment never went to trial the case was dismissed in january of nineteen ninetyseven after the woman who made the accusation was unable to testify and cannot give a date certain when she will be available the victim does not feel she can face the pressures or stress of a trial the victim may request that the case be refiled at a later date the paperwork said that the woman had been requested a dismissal matt patricia didn't really get into any specifics of the events and it twenty two years later it feels like a difficult time to try and dive into those specifics hearing that statement from the woman in question and remembering what a different time for dealing with things like sexual assault and a lot of the issues that have come up in two thousand eighteen it's a reminder of how complex these situations are separate from what's going on with matt patricia and what we know about matt patricia situation it's a reminder that these situations are never cut and dry.
