"I heard you say before WGN radio I'm Riley James Shy lights a letter to myself 1973 on Brunswick Got to number three on the R&B charts and 33 on the pop charts Eugene record co wrote it and produced it of course as another one of Scotty's requests for me Chicago and you never hear that I'm not sure why because it was a fine record So happy to play it Now we're talking to Laura and I wanted you to hang on Laura because you mentioned Memphis You know the stack studio stacks I'm sorry The chess studios the most infamous location of all of their is the 21 20 south Michigan That is actually Willie Dixon's blues heaven foundation And his wit has been dead a long time of course but his widow had had this renovated and there were tours their suspended right now but they're still working on fully renovating the studio So you can go to blues heaven dot com and find out more about what they're trying to do because they certainly have in the spirit of stacks or Motown really decided that they're going to do 21 20 south Michigan upright Are you there I don't know Did I lose Laura I don't know This may be my fault I don't think so though Let me try again Or maybe I did Well anyway hopefully Laura is still listening and she'll make note of that because there is something in Chicago and I didn't want to let that conversation go without at least mentioning Willie Dixon's blues heaven Like I said right now the tours are suspended Till further notice but they have been working on that studio Yeah we're at a James recorded at last and Chuck Berry recorded Johnny B good and so much so much more So they're in the final stage of restoration with that from what I know And for the 71st anniversary chest records which was last year last June I think they had a virtual event I don't think they had anything in person But I have not heard anything about 2022 as yet But if you know of under 21 locations that would be good venues for blues let me know And I'm sure Laura still listening and we'll pass it on to her But I thought a buddy guys and yeah I know it's kind of touristy But at the same time you absolutely can feel comfortable bringing a family A House of blues sometimes depends as far as that goes You can it's sort of performance to performance So there are some all ages shows So anybody can go to those with admission ticket But other shows have age restrictions And they're not always 21 sometimes 17 or 18 So the age restricted shows are mentioned So you know what you're getting 888-876-5593 88 88 Raleigh Like I said I got the tabloids Yeah I came prepared I knew it It might come to this on the we got about 20 minutes left of the abbreviated version of the show tomorrow night is a full show That's right Three big hours from ten to one and we'll talk about whatever's on your mind So yeah the national inquirer they've done themselves with the cover Of course the stories never live up to the height but nonetheless lying Fauci's manic meltdown and God love God love Ron Paul's kid Rand Paul He does a great job putting Fauci on the hot seat so that gets a little cover mentioned And Scientology's desperate last stand will get to that And sadly Brittany Yeah Britney Spears It doesn't look good all the way around Oh yes she's out of her conservative ship and she's free to do whatever she wants and therein lies the problem And you probably saw or at least heard about the nude pictures of herself she put online Yes with stars or hearts in all the strategic places But nonetheless you look at this and you say oh boy cry for help Maybe And of course the inquirer goes out and finds shrinks to and psychologists to interview So doctor Carol Lieberman said she's either offer meds altogether or taking a less than dose recommended Yeah I could be she now free to follow any manic impulse And then a Judith curry on ski another doctor said this is a bird let out of the cage He was crying for attention she's saying look at me in a very concerning way So yeah I think her father was one of the worst things to happen to her but I'm not sure that challenging life on its own is going to wind up to be in her best interest of course as we've talked about and all the slime from the checkout line stories we know that the fiance may not be in our best interest either Hope that's wrong All right so what else do we have Oh yeah because we've got a lot And yet dying to stay young and I guess I guess she's doing things that could injure her health in order to stay young and who cares All right so now that's right Let's get to this I know it's I know it's here but let's get to this Scientology deal All right there's the Fauci freak out You can read that on your own if you want to And I'm sure you can go to YouTube and see all those all those confrontations between Rand Paul and Doctor Fauci and knock yourself out All right so now it's here I know it's here That's right And yes Scientology the end is near How often have we seen that Well they're serious this time So what is the inquirer saying Well I guess they're basing this on the upcoming rape trials of Danny Masterson And they're saying that could be the doom Well and if he's found guilty the church is finished said defector skip press who once headed to Hollywood celebrity center it's well known to the public that church worked hard to discredit women who made accusations People would have to ask what else is Scientology covering up So supposedly Tom Cruise fled after the holidays Kirstie Alley ran off to Kansas John Travolta's soldiers home near the headquarters Greta van susteren keeping mom Juliette Lewis quit Laura Prepon defected and Elisabeth Moss won't talk about it You can read what you want But the interesting thing in the article and yes that's right proving I had nothing but time on my hands while I was listening to the black hawks I read it was hard to believe Was in fact that the church told members instructed members not to ask for religious exemptions from vaccines Now this is in particular the COVID vaccine obviously This is a real uproar and I can see that too because the church has been very vocal about not wanting its members to do drugs in fact when I say drugs I mean like anything like the psycho pharmaceuticals the prozac to the world and all that And everything else saying that that's just despicable I'm sure they've got a medical word for it but I'll go with despicable But so the deal is the staff is sort of like at their own control alternate delete going huh That's an uproar because they're saying wait a minute You're teaching us that you shouldn't do this And now you're saying that we shouldn't ask for an exemption So there you have it The official policy said the church is each parishioner will make his or her own decision Well so that's.

"WGN radio I'm roddy James those are the ringleaders flip side let's start over on impact in 1966 and Wesley on the south side one Let's start over by the occasions I couldn't find that but then I thought oh wait a minute There's a flip side that the ringleaders did and impact was a wonderful label And that's actually one of those questions that has not been answered for me And this is all Chicago souls So of course impact was a division of wonderful so we're talking about the leaners here Yeah that was right on south Michigan the heart of record row and you might remember wonderful records And if so you remember some of their subsidiaries like marvelous and mpec on each impact record after a certain point there is a date The date's not the date of issuance by any means Now what's interesting is there was no date on any of these records until oh gosh you must have been mid 1963 when one of the Harold barrage records came out and right under impact it said copyright may 7th 1963 All right Well after that I don't remember exactly at what time all the later records say copyright January 14th 1963 And it doesn't matter if these records were released in 1967 They're saying January 14th 1963 So what does that date mean to impact and leaners I know I'm talking to Chicago so maybe somebody in Chicago actually knows this answer because I don't have one of the many lingering questions 888-876-5593 That's 88 88 rally I've got a few more It was one of those days where things came to mind that I absolutely could not answer So a Veronica a first time caller has some questions Let's see if I will answer Hello Veronica welcome to WGN radio Hi thank you Ali I love your show And I've been listening to it ever since you came on the Chicago area Are you living in Arizona Most of our most of the time because my radio stations are here I was hoping to be back in Chicago but I've had some medical setbacks so for the time being I'm here Oh well I'm trying to be able to finally get to talk to you because I've been calling for the longest time but obviously I've taken the phone number down even correctly I don't know And you have F one wanted to write you It's a Miami Arizona A box box 9 7 7 Miami Arizona And that would get to you Absolutely I mean if you want the zip code it's 8 5 5 three 9 but who would care All you have to do is box 9 7 7 Miami Arizona and arm as good as the next guy It'll get here Where is Miami in the first in Gilbert Oh I know where Gilbert is Gilbert's right in Maricopa County Okay so if he's in Gilbert what part of Gilbert is he is he by the superstition freeway the 60 years of down by the two O two you know I don't know there's a Bernard or something Maybe Okay Queen Creek I know exactly where that is So if he's by Gilbert and Queen of course if he's by Gilbert and Queen Creek he would come up two O two and he'd head on 60 eastbound and he'd keep driving until he thought he was dead A couple hours later he'd be in Miami And he'd look around and he'd say my God this looks like the south Bronx And he'd be right because it's just a burnout former mining town that looks like nobody lives here But there are some and then you go a little further and you get the globe and in between you get to central heights And we're all in there Yeah I've got I've got four locations in the area Oh how great Oh that's very interesting It's been waiting to try and get hold of you for a second long time I think ever since you started you know when the other man left and I really love the show I really do That's great Well if your son ever wants a beautiful drive like I say Miami is just terrible but the drive between Maricopa County like right at the start of Apache junction Once you get past the floor and junction the drive between the Florence junction and Miami is exquisite Now once you get here you say where the hell am I But it's a nice drive along the way Yeah Yeah I've been there I've been down there about three times but due to my age now I'm not going anymore but what if we were to speak with you I'm so pleased I'm delighted that you called and that you're listening It's great to have you I'm in the Chicago area that I mentioned Yeah we're about We're about hillside Illinois which is narrow park Near the airport Ohio airport Schomberg the big mall yes I know Right Yeah Outbreak the bigger mall Right We're having a lot We're having a lot of troubles at the malls lately in Chicago And you know heard on the radio Yes It's everywhere If they're not a crime scene then they're damn near closing It's really sad what's happening But when I oh yes when I lived in Michigan avenue Yes it is terrible But when I lived in Rockford I used to love to drive to woodfield mall There's a lot of fun Oh yes and it's huge place Plenty of parking Yes but anymore you know all the malls it seems across the country And I don't really understand it because most of them are being replaced with outdoor things and that's okay In some places but you know but that's no good in the winter in that kind of climate Right And it's no good in the summer when you're in a.

"Across across the river here from high atop the city. The Sheraton Chicago is to my right and there's a guy walking on the roof, so I call security. Or is he supposed to be up there is anybody know? Well, yesterday they had the window washers up there. Oh, maybe I think they're coming. Yeah, a couple weeks, right there next week. Well, the Hilton we announced they're opening up Hilton on South Michigan Avenue. And the others can't be far beyond their opening. I think I saw June 7th. But that means that we won't see the light or designs with the lights. They have the in the windows of butterfly right now. Yeah, that's they've been doing that all true. The pandemic? How would you like to have that job for your window washer? He does. He's not even on a platform. He's just on a rope. Yeah, you know, basically repelling down each window That is so scary. I can't even imagine we're on the 18th floor here through three swagger and every once in a while, the window washer. You look behind you here and all and there's a person there. Like Spider Man, But Bob imagine, Yeah, being on the other side. I can't of the window. No, I can't believe me. I'm very excited because one of my favorite spots for lunch is opening up again talking about places. Free samples are coming back. And, uh, they are going to have full sampling, as well as the food court, re opening and Let's see. They say that it'll be in phases about 170 of Cascos. 550 locations will bring back full sampling by the first Last summer. Casco brought back free samples after suspending the initiative due to the pandemic, but they were limited to pre packaged items kept behind plexiglass shields. And that was ridiculous. Because you couldn't I couldn't eat anything. They were just torturing you. You go up to the little stand and you'd see the food behind the plexiglass. And somebody would say Why you? No, no, no, You can't eat it, kid. Don't touch. It's just for looking. Just for looking you. What're you doing that for? Hosko also plans to bring back seating for food courts this month, but it will be about half the seating capacity as it was before the pandemic. The tables will be spaced out to maintain physical separation. And let's see they plan to roll out new food items this summer. Pascoe expanding its food court menu, including new and improved Charles, as well as high end soft ice cream to replace frozen yogurt like that, Bob, you're gonna have to pace yourself on this. And maybe I suggest maybe mapping out the free samples start. Start. If they have, like grapes do great and maybe the cheese cubes and then maybe go to sausage and then go to the church euros if they have samples of those, so another is do like an appetizer main course and dessert. And if there's more courses, you can hit that as well. And sometimes they even have booze, don't they? They have like wine that you could even you know, maybe start out with a little cocktail or something that you happy hour Casco and then stretch do your stretches before you hit. All of the different stations, of course. Last month, Casco announced it was dropping its requirement for shoppers to wear masks after becoming one of the first retailers to mandate the practice at the start. Of the pandemic, So I hope Trader Joe's is paying attention to this because they still haven't returned to their free samples and their stores. They have. They have good, good, good food there at Trader Joe's. They have a different featured item or they used to, You know, every day and If I was hungry, I would, you know, get a little sample and then wait till the person behind the The food area. There would go in the back to get more. And then I go up and take another one. Because you know, I didn't. It would be very embarrassing for them to throw me out of Trader jokes, help They see that on Channel nine. Dean Richards Entertainment reporter Fuzzy picture of maybe, and Being taken away because there's video everywhere. It's some security camera with definitely capture that you're always on TV. No question about it. So Casco bring back free samples and ah limited food Court seating arrangement. More good news on this. This is fun. Because for so long every day all we were doing was reporting and cancelations. And restrictions. So now that everything is opening up, we're happy to bring all that info to you. It's 7 15. Right now We have extremely local news from Black Club Chicago coming up. Momentarily. Let's get to the weather first. And look at this gonna get a little bit warmer every day here heading towards the weekend..

"40. I was working the early shift in Chicago on the beach in radio. My name's Surat, My partner's lieutenant David Hands of the Chicago Police Department. He wrote The book of Beat Cops Guide to Chicago eats. There are more than three million people in the city when they get hungry. We go toe work with restaurant news and reviews. Morning, Lieutenant. How are you? Good morning. That's the That's the actual opening from the Dragnet Radio Syriza's instead of the television open that we usually play. Well, that's nice. I mean, it's great to be here. It's delightfully casual today in the vacation getting ready getting ready to go on. This is the normal look for us here is that I got to scarf going. Argyle sacks over. So Yeah, Mark's got good footwear grows an inch was in here. He very seldom comes in the main studio from the newsroom. Usually he waits for Goodies to be placed in the kitchen. But he knows something I don't cause he was already in here. Welcome to the first annual Bob Surat Best Donut in Chicago contest. That's that's what we're doing today. You know, over over the year over, we were talking about restaurants. We talked about the past year and over the year we We've talked about several places that had great doughnuts. And so what I did was I brought in the best doughnuts that I thought I found on the North side and the best donuts I found on the South side and We can, You know, just just you guys could discuss throughout the morning cause I brought like a couple dozen. I see there's chocolate and glazed. Yes, there's glazed cake, doughnuts and glazed chocolate cake. Doughnuts are chocolate frosted cake donuts because those are my favorite doughnuts. So that's you know, now, you I know have talked about this before. That the police actually have more bagels than doughnuts. Is that it these days? Yeah. I mean, I'm older, you know, but the younger police officers are much more in shape, and they They don't like the donut. What experience stereotype, So they kind of tend to avoid donuts. Um, although I think they're getting a resurgence at Dunkin Donuts of Police officers coming in here for the coffee because there's a lot of boycotting of Starbuck's going on these days. Is that right? Police officers we had Upset caps have a problem with Starbucks. I Yeah, they have since the summer there, they kind of not getting free stuff anymore. Well, it's the least I haven't got this is I put a white shirt on. I haven't got any free stuff, but yeah, there there. There haven't been very good police lately. We've got to get that fixed in the new year for sure. So Allegretti is is on Lawrence in Northridge. Right. Allegretti is that 77 17 West, Lawrence and Gorge on they have, I think the best donuts on the North side. And I have to say, And this is this is my opinion. We can all offer own opinions as you go through the morning and tried it on. I think that the chocolate frosted cake donuts at Allegretti is is the best of the two I brought in. And, uh, old fashioned donuts at 1 12 48, South Michigan. Um, has I think the best glaze cake donut? Uh, that I have saw so we can compare both. I brought a half a dozen of both from each place and he left after Krizan. It said it was in here. I took. I took a half of one from the old fashioned, and I wish I would have taken a full one. I think we're gonna have some competition here. I'm gonna come over here. You know, a great story about old fashioned donors. So, um Bird bollock, Mr B. I's 82 years old. And the Ah is still making the donuts every day. I talked to him on Wednesday. And he is, uh, He's been going to work every day through the pandemic, and it's like in all, it looks like an old Woolworth's store. So the burnt their donut maker's air in the front window. He's in the front window every day making doughnuts and I have to say it makes me wonder if We should be studying the link between covert prevention and donut eating. I think the more donors you eat, the more likely or I mean, Hey, I haven't gotten golden. Yeah, well, we'll run that by Dr Kevin most and Dr Eileen Marty s O the Southside doughnuts from old fashioned doughnuts 11248, South Michigan and the North side doughnuts from Allegretti. He's at 77 17 West. Lauren's If you if people want to send that e mails what they think the best, let us know. And when we come back after your vacation well, Well, say what people I do get a lot of. I've gotten a lot of righted what he called suggestions for the new year. But if you want to say which don't answer best you can Sent Bob in e mails sent me an email it be cops guided. Yes, I was grabbing the doughnuts during the break, but I want to, like, Take. I don't want to eat that many doughnuts, So I'm gonna take a piece of chocolate from the north side of this outside. Piece of a glazed from our sentence outside and now a report on my findings after that's that's That was that was for Mary Ann's consumption. He's probably gonna have four donuts, right. She's not up this early. We're okay. It will come back and also talk about. Well this. This is a good counterpoint to the donut segment. Some healthy meals. You can get more with Lieutenant David hands of the Chicago Police Department momentarily and let's see if Steve has a mouthful or if he could do the weather right now. That's what I was afraid of. And, you know, I can have caffeine like eight o'clock at night, and it doesn't affect me. I'll go right to sleep. I don't Vito tries my my wife nuts? Yeah, Mine too. Same here way We have a wonderful smell. Aroma of fresh doughnuts in the studio here this morning. Thanks to you. Yes, yes. You know what I mean? We've been meaning to do to do this for a while. I A while back brought in donuts from what I consider to be the best donut maker on the North side, but old fashioned donuts at 112 48, South Michigan, is what I would say is the best donuts on the South side. One of these days, we'll have to give them both. And we'll have to have a little taste office. See which one's better North side Now I forgot the place in the north side that you like It was. Allegretti is right. And then in this place on South Michigan Avenue old fashioned doughnuts. Been there forever, right? It's been there forever, Mr. Bullock, by the way, who actually makes the doughnuts in the front window draws a crowd. You know, the store front looks to me like those old dime stores from when we were kids, or we bolt, sir. Something like that. So he got thes front windows and doughnut fryer is in the front window. And you can you could see it. Mr Bullock fries, doughnuts every day every morning. That's fantastic. It's open six o'clock. He's been doing it for almost 50 years. He's 82 years old still works every day. I just saw him the other day. Great a way waves all the kids. It's something he's just like this neighbourhood icon. Real nice guy, and he makes a fantastic donut. I They smell great. We can't wait to get into the box of donuts. You brought us. This reminds me of Pete, who used to be a TTE Marie's pizza on Lawrence Avenue just west of Pulaski. He'd be in the window, flipping his pants. You can't beat that. And so ah, how they doing during the pandemic? Do you know there was a line when I got there at six o'clock? They open up a six o'clock in the morning. There's ah was a line. I mean, I I don't think I've ever been in there and I don't. I mean, I don't go to off because it's so far south for me, but whatever I'm on the south side and try to go to her, and I don't think I've ever been in there when there wasn't people in there. So it seems like you're doing good they've got they've got different flavors. But like, you know, the main thing started chocolate donuts and the glaze cake doughnuts. That's where you really would tell. You know what a bet I think the best donuts because a good glaze cake donut is like, really soft on the inside, but crispy with the sugar in the outside, like a simple donut. Yeah, I like the one in here. It looks like there's coconut on the others gave the coconut there. I also brought Ah, banana. Wanna caramel one for you Try and I don't know Joe tackled me on the way in, so I don't know if there's what's left. And they make apple fritters. Yes, well, right, All right. So that's what takes this, okay? Like I could say we did donuts. The glaze cake in the chocolate donuts are almost equal in north and south side. We could debate that. But what This place has that I didn't see it. Allegretti is is they make these apple fritters? That are huge and just I mean, really guy. I had one yesterday and I still feeling a little logy. It's not one not something you can eat One city. All right, well, let's Ah, Let's recommend old fashioned donuts. 11248 South Michigan Avenue, Right, Right, right. And it's ah! How One Block Got Through It
"Over the past five months small businesses in America have been undergoing a mass extinction event. Bars are closed restaurants or half empty and retail is shuttered. Full blocks are slipping away. I wanted a sense of how this is playing out in the city I live in. CHICAGO. Not The one off story of a beloved are not the frightening toll in national statistics I wanted the story of one block. So I went to seventy fifth street in the Chatham neighborhood in the heart of Chicago outside. This. Part of the South side is really pretty. There are huge street trees flowers on the steps of the bungalows brick two flats al capone used to live in one of them. Many corners have signs from block looks setting the rules of the road. No loud music no car repair watch out for children playing. Even middle class parts of the side commercial corridors have struggled. redlining big box stores, job loss and black flight have left them full of vacancies. There are signs for businesses that have been gone. So long their phone numbers don't have area codes signs for furniture stores, nurseries, food markets, stores that sold beepers. which is what has long made this stretch of seventy fifth street, just east of South, Michigan, Avenue Standout, and what makes it stand out? Even during the pandemic. There's a handful of hair salons and barbershops. There's a dentist and a daycare. There's a cycling Ju. We're one day I visit. The DJ is wheeling bikes onto the sidewalk for afternoon classes. A little bit nervous, south. Arm. Being. There is a cult favorite, vegetarian joint Zoll Veg, which always has a line inside and if famous barbecue joint limbs, which always has a line outside. Large To dry cleaners where the pressed uniforms of Chicago police and transit workers hang under plastic and a Taylor who says online ordering suits him just fine. To never going to stop because you combat it fit to perfect. You're going to need some ultra and that's why. There's a deli run by an ex COP. I went there cover in plain clothes they know who I was and I got to a fight. So, as may have started the fight, my gun thought of mine waste and me and a guy is literally fighting for this pistol. There's a bakery, a frame shop and Francis Cocktail Lounge. The Bar has been here since December thirty first nineteen, sixty five muhammed leads to drop by Michael Jordan too. So we are the Regal. Beagle. You don't know three's company. So a lot of people, it is the neighborhood where everybody knows your name and we're able to have people come out and have cocktails on the front. So that has really seemed to. Help us excuse me you got to mass. Need, you have on the bads. Jada Wilson turnball runs the place with her cousin who's mother founded it. If you can't tell, she used to be an assistant principal at a Chicago Public School can't you put on your mask plays. Thank you. So, much. Appreciate you. Working with children really got me ready for this. One reason I picked this stretch of seventy fifth street was because it seemed on paper like exactly the kind of place that would have struggled to get through the pandemic stretch of black owned family businesses in a city that has been hit hard by. COVID. Nineteen. But what I found was not what I expected. Mid July virtually every business on seventy fifth street had reopened after the initial shutdown. Some were just getting by, but many of them said in spite of everything that they were doing. Great. I'm Henry Bar and this is the final episode in our series on the future of the during and after covid nineteen. Today, on the show, one block on Chicago's south side tries to get through the storm.

"Allen Hynek he did end up being a hero Disney yeah. curious about Jay on and I was privileged one night in the seventies to spend an entire evening with him and regale him about a couple of investigation the S. one gas right yeah. yes he was called to the scene when Michigan in nineteen sixty five had a couple of nights of wild stories from south east and south Michigan around a couple of small towns dexter Michigan wasn't Exter was the first one and then Hillsdale at Hillsdale college younger as well as a couple of university administrators they had eighty seven girls from the dorm at hills fail to see these lights over IT us want it was March. and so hi Nick was called in when the us was making headlines all over the papers and after two days he said of chaotic interviews he coined the unfortunate term swamp gas now I am told them that he was told to say that did you ever hear that story no I did not hear him order to say he he apparently went head to take a phone call they said the you know doctor our neck they're calling you from Washington he took a call in a room came back looked ticked off. and then announced to the media that it was swamp gas yeah. I wouldn't be the first in line to say that hi Nick was no true believer he will was to the very end the hard nosed scientist but he did go from being a defunct her in the early fifties when he joined the airforce is because to finally as you know in nineteen seventy three formed his own group the center for UFO studies which bears his name today and it was that case of Lonnie Zamora the police officer in Sir coral New Mexico that helped change his mind. yeah so more was chasing this either when he saw a flash of both blue and orange flames in the sky or off the road and so he just drove his cruiser over the the desert terrain until he came upon this egg shaped object resting on the ground with a couple of little quite suited gray's outside the vehicle when they spotted him they raced back in and with the rumbling roaring sound it took off again but yet left both depressions and scorch marks and he brought in his police superiors to verified what had happened there I don't think that this was a great moment in mysteries of Morris wife he's been featured on many many documentaries sense but he paid a price of among his colleagues he was for a while a laughing stock that's true too that that's absolutely true June amazing cases over the years we don't seem to get them anymore why is that. in my right. well there's always something going on and you know if if you count up move on statistics in a year's time there's going to be a thousand or two thousand. cases from shaking the solid I mean the last really good one moon I and I'm not talking about the release of the tic tac aircraft case or anything like that what are the real last great case where there were witnesses was the Phoenix lights and and I was twenty two years ago now yeah and that was seen by so many that is you you probably can't make a statement for what the government said about the Phoenix lights because they didn't say much not much layers and all kinds of stuff yeah they actually what it appears that they did was after the fact of late at night they sent a couple of helicopters up to drop some players and say that's what people misidentified but they were off by about an hour and a half what really happened let's take some calls you for you down let's pick it up by going to bill North Carolina first time caller hello there bill welcome to the program Hey thank you guys very much for allowing me to to hello input here I yeah. may not have a lot to add but I would like to say when I was in the airforce Montes sixty six to sixty nine thank you too bye Sir by the way well I think you're much Alice at Luke airforce base in Luke Air Force base was a radar operator. and we saw it was part of the sage environment semi automatic ground environment so I was kind of a computerized system at the time. and we would have objects on radar that was the the speed of the object was surprised because he thought it couldn't keep up with the data input and they were they were definitely on my own I'm just in the listing guy so I don't have all have I want to add but there definitely was unidentified objects on radar and then when I got to Iceland I went to Iceland. I was a crew chief up there and then we would have object again all right are but there was a manual system that was not a computerized system and that we would have objects in maintenance would tell us sometimes it was called there was a term called running rabbits and so I definitely have seen objects alright are with my own eyes that was under fire then when I left ice one went to the command post at over center for space. one of my jobs there. listed his knuckle reports when someone would call in it was nothing we just take a sheet of paper that had questions on it and we'll just ask the questions in a liquid up book and I don't remember all the questions but questions like if you sought out here can you have your fist straight now yeah in relationship to your head Armani right now at arm's length and then there's like one of the questions we asked and I'm always joke about this when I was in college and. and then my career with other bodies were sent on talking you know I think those who question best I remember there was a question on here that today probably wouldn't fly out there was a question on have you been drinking I I'm I'm. sure that was the question on there like that but. I just wanted to add that. first hand saws stuff all right on that was random sample did you ever scrambled is you have to scramble imia jets to catch from. we scrambled jets but it was the two intercept the Soviets coming over the ages but it now we we didn't scramble on any unknown objects we if we scramble we knew pretty much what we were going after I believe that that's great story thank and I wonder how many operators of radar units Dan could say exactly what he did I'm reminded of one some radar that was on board an airliner which. radio India and to say that something was approaching him and was going what the equivalent would be of ten thousand eight hundred miles an hour that it covered like twenty four kilometers and the number of seconds and that it was going so fast that on their radar screen it was leaving a trail. but. that was a favorite of mine let's go to Joe in the Bronx welcome to the program Joseph Edward L. always well thanks Joe good good good among the files to he reviewed water any files having to do with the the Roswell the the wall because the tackle over LA. the Eisenhower meetings would eat please. no none of those things was covered by the CI a I had five hundred fifty C. I. A. reports or documents but what I found early on in the in the process of going through all of them and and separating wheat from chaff was if it had anything to do with national security it was not the eventually put on the CIA website than those were held in abeyance and I have some really good cases from around the world that the that the CIA must have known about but because it involved their personnel or they're always so friendly nations and was peculiar that was a national security interest and it went no where DM let's talk a little bit about doctor James McDonald what was his role in all of this. he's a favorite and a hero to me doctor McDonald was an atmospheric physicist at the university of Arizona and however he came to this in October of sixty six the newspaper the Arizona Republic ran an article titled UFO harsh Bulleen down CI a man. doctor McDonald was a hard core scientists to but he would tell audiences that he came to the P. T. hypothesis as the least on acceptable explanation. he he rejected things like time travel and E. S. P. N. secret aircraft and natural phenomena as overall explanations. well he went after the C. I. A. because when he was at Wright Patterson airforce base he looked at that old nineteen fifty three Robertson panel report and at that point there was a memo attached from the C. I. A. to the Air Force ordering the Air Force to keep long. cases and so he really came down with both fists on the C. I. A. over that he made a number of appearances before various audiences and was to the C. I. A. he was real pain in the ****. and eventually because of his public speaking on this subject and repeatedly saying the C. I. A. with flying and the airforce was debunking at the CIA's behest he ran into trouble with his university superiors and also went home and he eventually took his own life. or you can take it anymore Cody he just couldn't handle that much pressure but to me he was in on some hero. the condom report that came out in sixty seven sixty eight to debunk project blue book that was a set up wasn't sure what by a sixty seven the Air Force was ready to punch they didn't have any answer to where everything and neither could they get rid of it so they ask for for a nother committee to be set up and this was under Edward Khandan a physicist at cal I had call room sneakers have university account. he put together for other physicists and three psychologist to go over not a large number but a number of cases but and I put down a couple of quotes here that I think are worthy of mention the chief of staff in effect with another physicist named Dr Lou Robert Lowell from UC. he told university officials just as they were getting under way in the late sixty seven our study would be conducted almost exclusively by non believers who. would add an impressive body of evidence that there is no real reality to the observations and then the key he said the trick would be I think to describe it sold that to the public it would appear to be a totally objective study but to the scientific community it would grab be it would present the image of a group of non believers trying their best to be objective but having an almost zero chance of finding a softer that's not here yet the objectivity of doctor Robert Lowell. in London himself said I won't believe in outer space doctors until I see one touch one all it into a laboratory and get some competent people to go over with me someone to go to area fifty one. he also told the press early on this is in the first couple of months of the kind in committees existence it is my inclination right now to recommend that the government get out of the business my attitude right now is that there is nothing to it but I'm not supposed to reach a conclusion for another year not here in Brooklyn New York welcome to the show high Hary. earlier George good to speak with you again thank you you've got a great show you really so are you sure of program on television awhile back about UFOs and there was a gentleman who claimed that he is come across different.
