"Brothers dot com Now here are 10 calve early, and Chuck Brydon, Stein and Mike Kerns and Mark Kramer. And just before we went to break Mark, we asked you about Again. Everybody knows Labours. Tough product acquisitions tough, but the weather also effects roofing companies. It does sometimes in a good way. Sometimes in a bad way. Um It's just been one of those things where, you know, I bought a house in South Lyon and I think I've had to hook up my exterior generator two or three times now. This year, our lives there and my brother. Sorry. And I brought that up to them because neither of them have had that issue. So they said it must be you tell you what. I've lived in the house, man. Now since 2015 we lost power once for minutes. Yeah, we've lost three times this year. Luckily, stand by his work work Very well. Yeah, it affect scheduling for you guys. So, you know, it's just one of those deals where we have to deal with it as it comes, and homeowners are typically pretty understanding of the search our nation. Yes. And no. I mean, how do you maintain contact? How do you handle that? It's all phone calls. I mean, we live and die by the phone calls and making sure that they're informed And, you know, most homeowners are understanding because they don't want to have their roof torn off And it's easy to explain that to them the industry I was it was very much same thing because I tell them okay. Yeah. I know it doesn't look like rain. But trust me if I said my crew out there And we take those tarps off your roof. It's going to rain again. Yeah, I think for two weeks there there was somebody in the Metro area was getting wet. Yeah, you know, it could be beautiful for everybody. But somebody was going to get wet. And it came up a dark cloud and then each other Damn and not just wet, soaked, soaked. We have you found like the farmers. You can smell it in this industry. After 40 years you wake up in the morning you go. It's going to rain today. Have you found that to be the truth like you stay on this this high level of caution, right? You send all everybody out, knowing it's going to get somewhere today. There's going to be a downpour. But the Metro is huge, and there's a lot of roofs to do. So we got to go get them done. But we did have a couple situations where we were one of those people and we had to run around with tarps and put this roof and protect his property under the that kind of arrest. Into it, and it came on fast, right? These are quick storms in our industry. You know, I could say no rain. But you just happened to be that cow goes right over the house you're working in. It happens. What happens? It really does as a company. What can you do? Because if that happened every day for a week, it could ruin a company. I mean, it really could. If you said crews out You really get you got to pay attention to that so important. It's so funny because our number is kind of that if it's 40% chance, that's kind of where we lose our comfort and tearing a roof off. Um But what we have is homeowners go. Well, You know what? I don't think it's going to rain. Go ahead. Stop out here And I say if we take a shingle off, it will pour. If I leave it to tell you we're gonna start it tomorrow. You can go golfing today because it's gonna be 70 and sunny and unfortunate. Whatever they would call me and they were upset. I would say Okay, well, if it did rain If I would have gone then it would rain today. You know, we call it even. I mean, you're gonna be upset. Well, of course they are. Well, I'm going to be the one taking a loss. Let me be the way making the call. Yeah, well, heck, Mark. You know what? Why not just do like these other roofing companies doing just don't tear the roof off. Put those new shingles right over the old ones. That, I suppose, would be an option. Just not for us. We wouldn't do that to a customer of ours. Why you lose a lot of the important pieces. So for us when we talk about a roofing system, it's the shingles that are out in the field. Those are not the part that we're worried about the ones where it's just if you mark off a 10 by 10 FT Zone, and all it is, is a field of shingles. We don't care that's not going to leak. It's going to leak against the step flashing laws. It's going to leak around your chimney and a lot of times when we see Reroutes performed a couple things happened, one they re use flashing, which is basically like not having flashes of mortal sin of roofing, isn't it? It is it is the roof. Police could show up and pull them off. But you know, it's that's a big component of it. And then you just where the where the shingles tie up against the siding and things like that Valley, adding onto those layers, and then you've got to cut the sighting. It just doesn't make sense. Uh, and warranty wise. We just can't warranty and the weight you know, and there's still shingles that are under the layer. Those are going to continue to deteriorate, especially around the edges, which will make it to charity. Quicker. There are some homes that we tear off where we think that they were actually in a race to win. How many layers they can put on. Um what's the most you've seen? We've seen that Most I've personally seen was three layers of shingles in one layer of cedar shake. Oh, Mike's probably seen some Some big ones there. I put cedar shake on top of shingles beneath Albany. Yeah, fascinating. Calculate the dead weight load of the three. Layers of shingles and the cedar shakes. You know, I know how much a bundle of shingle ways and I would give up after one layer. Exactly. It's It's a lot of weight up there, but Those are the ones that you find on the old houses that are built with true to buys and the good lumber and all that stuff, So they hold up. They just start to leak through time because there's too many opportunities. He had an owner cut out the collar ties up in the rafters so they could put storage or something up there. That's good collapse on well, we get that question a lot from listeners, so we wanted to address it because you know, it's like They're going to charge me extra and they're going to tear it all off in here. It's pretty good right now. Can't they just go over it so you can't write. So when it comes to what we're gonna be doing, 11 30 has given away a veteran and I say we You currently is going to give away a roof to a veteran, but just said something when it came to a food drive this year, and you gotta Bunch of bunch of pounds of food. Tell people about that, please. Yeah. I mean, this is a situation where One of the core values of currents brothers is to give back. Um we would be nothing without our community backing.

Grace kelly who married the prince of monaco in nineteen fifty six. Well you know. I wasn't quite sure where you were going with rush that i because so many twentieth century weddings were described as the wedding of the century and every ten years there was a new wedding of the century fry phillies the cover girl on the book and she's a great example of the ride was not just cleaned for a day but a princess for the rest of her life because she was already So much media attention and she had the resources of the mgm blissfully custom department at her service as long as their own very wealthy philadelphia family. Opera house in between the two ceremonies again. We thing we invented the wedding week but the idea of buying several different new outfits for several different binding events was a very old one even in grace. Kelly's yeah i find it really interesting that. Mgm actually bankrolled the entire wedding. Especially because apparently after this she was no longer going to be an actress. We're hoping to lure her back. But they actually had a policy of doing this for all of their actresses including taylor and it was a way of getting publicity brana studio while also of burnishing images of their stars. That's right and i think she had two movies. That were coming out And i love that. Helen rose actually who had worked with her on several of her films designed her wedding dress. How in rosa's a costume designer. It took thirty five people six weeks to make her to bridal gowns so absolutely incredible and your listeners. You'll have to get your hands on this book to look at these wonderful images of this gown of course and learn some more juicy details behind the scenes. And if i had to choose my favorite celebrity wedding from the book or maybe i would just give a prize for like the most over the top extravagant performance wedding of the twentieth century or perhaps ever had never heard of this wedding sows so much fun to learn about it. It would have to go to the nineteen seventy four wedding a sly stone kathy silva why was this wedding so exceptional well. I go underneath a rail instead of going over the top in a row. And as soon as i get the bench sergeant sergeant. Yeah kevin sergeant. Yep yep he's sitting there and he puts it looks at me and he just gave me a. What's up. i said what's going on buddy your helmet too far away too many people and it is about three or four minutes with seem like an hour and So the only helmet that i could get with carl thick and as you stole carl pickens the middle of a game. And that's it. I started making your way in my way out of the state. Do you still have the helmet. You just left the game. I guess i like the game gone. Well he'll but here's the thing about. It was the section that i was sitting in the cost. One hundred forty seven seventy five. I bought a bunch of those guys beers. Couple our city. I knew if i got the helmet got into again. They would have made a big deal out of it. And then i got in trouble so i saw some of the beer so i could get out of that so i get out of the stadium. I've been flashbacks. I put the helmet on. I'm chasing people around the parking lot. I get the my vehicle back in new ken. Arnold where where i grew up in new kensington. I'm gonna play. I'm in a place called the crow bar now. We're probably beginning of the second quarter and they're talking about it on monday night. Football carl pickens is wearing a different number helmet. Because you can't find it. No no i do not have it and this is what happened because the next morning i wake up and i turned around bed and the helmet hits macoutes and i look at this helmet and i'm like oh man what i do so i went to work. I come home from work. and there. It is the pittsburgh post. Gazette license official beneficial helmet stolen blah blah blah blah blah. I'm like oh man you know. What am i gonna do. The reason why that's why they called it arena rock because they create a lot of two and three and four minute songs that would be played on. Radio refused to edit. They refuse to edit their music down and they just and they sold out so many arenas they're like we don't care if we sell a few extra albums we got one hundred thousand people sitting at oklahoma your catalysts coliseum care and so you know they like it's if you look at the listen to the seventy s channel on sirius. My sunglasses went right into the lake. I wanted my friend. Kyle jumped up. The bow was trying so hard to dive and look for them but he didn't have goggles and lost him. "Mojo in the morning so friday's torrential rains caused for some massive flooding neighborhoods. Hit very hard with many basements flooded in the metro detroit area but the visual that you probably have seen more than ever is turned into a national story is the visual of i ninety. Four right around libranoy where. The highway was completely underwater in. Uc semi trucks literally stuck in floods. Cars completely covered all the way up to the roofs of their cars as they tried to like. Drive through it especially Underneath the that overpass. That's there are ninety four and liver night and it's all because the pumps weren't working to push out some of the water and that there was so much water that came at such a fast furious pace and it it was just a you know an unbelievably difficult weekend for so many people in the dearborn area and are listening area. They're checking us out listening to channel nine five five in detroit because again after not that long ago them you know going through some big time flooding. Some of those basements that were flooded and just repaired flooded again because of there was Lack of pumps being able to pump out of the neighborhoods. Eight four four live aid for four six six five six five four eight. Our phone number here would love to hear from you. If you've been experiencing this. I also would love to hear from from those that were driving on the highway at this time. Because you don't how fast this goes if you're driving down a highway in the next thing you know you see traffic slowing down and you're right up on the water not knowing what you should do and The first thing that they do say is don't drive in the water But even the semi trucks out that they could get through it and their engines got seized up because of the water that go through. It's hard for people to rationalize when you see five inches or more of rain on the news you think. Oh it's only five or six inches of rain when that falls in such a quick amount of time that it can't be drained and it's just the everything's flooding all at once. It happens fast. Where the you know cars just and another problem is the car stop. It causes a big logjam and people think well. Maybe i can. I can't backup everybody's been backed up for miles. So maybe i'll just try and get through it and they don't realize how deep it is. Yeah i have. I lived in arizona for you know a number of years. You guys knew that before. I moved here and the desert would face this all the time. During what was called monsoon season and a lot of the times you would see where people would be driving down the street during a torrential rain there that would only last for an hour or so and your cars would be swept away and they would tell you you know if you come up on this water. You're not going to make it through. Yeah because because you're gonna end up getting getting stuck in it That that on top of just what took place on saturday with a at&t losing phone service. And i know you are affected by that. At and t. customer. I had i had no flooding in my house. My neighborhood was totally flooded by. I had no power day on saturday. Which meant no wifi. And i have. At and t. For my phone service. So i had no phone service so i couldn't even get on my wifi to check things out or to use wifi calling or anything and we had A birthday party to go to out in south lyon which is like forty five minutes from where i live and so you guys know me and directions like i live and die by ways in google maps that the only way i can get places and so on saturday morning i was like how in the heck am i going to get out to south lyon and figure out where this this home is that we're supposed to be going to because i can't call anybody i can't use the internet like i. I my my even like my Traverse has naveh. That wasn't connecting. That wasn't working. So i had to go andrews outta town. I sat in his driveway used his wife. I screen shotted the directions of from his house to this house. In south lyon birthday party was it was like one thousand nine hundred eighty eight when i had to print out like a google maps to gas quest are mat class. It was matt question. And i thought to myself as i was driving i got off the highway and it was like winding through like nothing like they live in community. So there's just like nothing around them. And i'm like if i get lost. I'm literally doomed. The worst sense of dramatic on the planet. That's an area of town where the there it does become. You know little unfamiliar after a while. Because you don't know there's nothing there are no like once you get off the highway and especially the direction i was going. There was nothing. There were no stores or gas stations or anything that i could even stop and ask for directions so i was having a heart attack. I'm blown away at how much we are dependent on our technology like to to get around like the different google maps. It's an extra concern for shannon. Because she is so directionally challenged that she sometimes needs directions to come to and from work. And we've been in this building for sixteen years. I think that shannon is Is not the minority. I think shannon is the majority of when you leave work. I know how to get home in this situation like it was so windy. Like the if. I had to backtrack getting there wouldn't have happened would never have made it home. What's up let's go to katie here. Katie you're on. Seventy five on the flooding took place. Yeah and i was like it was midnight or actually probably about twelve thirty and I was like trying to get off on ninety four and it was backed up so i Waited for about thirty minutes to see if any of the flooding was going down and it was just getting high or so. I ended up going backwards and found another exit ramp. I mean none of the roads were suggestion. People were going all the different directions on. I got offered an exit. But then i was kind of like on an island Both ways had like huge puddles. And i saw a couple of cars Not make it other cars. Make it Maybe about like three. A m Pause raining for a bit and finally like some draining happens. When i made it to a gas station at a gas station for a while but i only live like six miles from downtown and it took me over four hours to get home card and talking backing up your backing up on a freeway. You're actually turned around. I was driving the wrong way on the freeway. Wind all your smart though. You're smart because if i don't know if you had oncoming traffic coming towards when you're doing this which would be scary but if you keep going straight you're you're one of these people that's inside of this water that we were talking so i thought so many people being so bold i mean i i mean i thought so. Many cars get stranded. I mean little cars going up like has their tires just like trying to run through a bad idea. Smart move not trying to get through it so yeah. Many people that did get home safe only got home to what was a flooded basement and lay. You're one of them. You're in dearborn in. I don't know if is this the second time in the last ten years that your basement flooded our baseness lead at the first time we are like a huge rainfall thousand fourteen and like the city apologized and said they would like fix a series of stuff that happen again and unfortunately it is like mainly the east end itself and that was targeted. And we didn't get flooded because it was coming to the windows. We don't let it be back backup week. Worst money repairing but they say it really sucks because our tax money are supposed to be paying for like a proper sewer system.

"At all times. We have a, uh, a loaded, uh, phone lines. Let's get to it right away. Let's talk to Adeline from Harsono Island. Good morning, Alan. You're on with the guys. Good morning. I've got the unusual problem in that I have a exhaustion over the stove. That only operates with remote control. Push button type 13 In the last two weeks, it's turned on. Three or four or five different times. Uh, When I didn't turn it on. We'd come in from outside and beyond. So I took the batteries out of the remote control figuring that was causing it. You didn't do any good. It's just Started up again the other day. So what do I do? Could it be somebody's garage door opener that they had newly installed or what? Yeah. I mean, this could be something like that. Do you have any fans or do your neighbors have any fans that are remote control that you're aware of? Not, you know, I'd have to go to each house and find out Okay, Because the problem it's funny. You mention the garage doors because those tend to be a random cycling frequency now to avoid you know the theft issues that were occurring a few decades ago. But we're starting to see that with houses where Chuck and can go out and buy four fans, each of them remote control, install them in four different rooms in the house. And suddenly the one you think you are operating in the living room. He pushed the remote and one in the bedroom at the end of the hallway goes on. I would have. If it's me. I'm gonna have somebody like Brad your electric out there. Uh, and have them take a look at that and just make sure that you're not gaining, they can they can find out and discover the source of any interference. And then hopefully the unit you've got can be programmed to isolate it from that interference by any electrician. Uh, it's okay. Well, thank you very much for your help, and you guys have a great day and keep up the great work. Thank you. Let us know what goes on with that way. Yeah, That's a crazy problem. I've been there. Thank you. So much for your call, Alan. Alright. Next. Let's talk to Vince in Rosedale. Come morning Venture on with the guys. Hey, guys, How you doing? Good. Good. Alright, buddy. This is what I God. I need a referral. Okay, um doing in historical restoration, um, on a job over in South Lyon. Michigan, Okay? And I duplicating the front porch off over home. That was 18 18 70, Okay? But the only difference is instead of doing it all in wood. We're going to do it all in PVC. A Zac speed board. Uh, rap six by six is the whole nine yards, but I'm going to make it look like the original port was done. The only hang up that I've got is there are little decorative medallion. I guess. The best way to column is medallions OK, one of the six by six and the other one is a six by eight. The six by six goes up on top. The six by goes up underneath. It's a decorative piece of trim that was made back in period. Okay, what I need And I will go ahead and cut the blocks of a Zach. I need a referral of somebody that has a CNC machine that does this kind of work like an drop off these blocks. And I've even got the templates took off the other ones off the old ports to give them and I need to have them duplicated. So when I finished the porch, I could put them back on the very, very top. So the six by sixes. Some match. What's already there? Uh, is there any number that you can give me of somebody that does CNC woodworking, But it's going to be out of a Zach have been changed that But let us suggest to you. First of all, are you familiar with the company called five pan f y p O N. You mentioned the beadboard you're looking at and some other plant blocks? Yeah, Yeah, I've already got all that stuff. I just need to have these blocks duplicated. I don't think £5 going to be I just I'm looking for like a local guy fight that has a CNC machine that works in wood working quite give it We understand. We understand what you're asking what the question we asked, had Pipe on might just have that product in a vinyl plastic. So I would look there first, all right, And if if they can only thing we could think of someplace like a man's lumbering mill works. Maybe they could do something. They work with a lot of the composite decking stuff. Exactly, And they would have access or fight Pine actually might, But I would look, we used to have that the paper Version of the £5 catalog, and they they their whole schtick was that they made all of that stuff from historic preservation buildings out of Vinyls and plastics. We did some houses with it bought the old dental work and the beadboard you're talking about that was vented for soffit and several of the products like that. From them. Floated trims you name it so I would check them first f water phone number P o in. I do not. We could look one up. But the website F. Evan Frank. Why? He's O N fi pon. Okay? Yeah, I used to have this problem solved. Okay? I used to your finger lumber. I would go over to my Bradburn. I would give bring him in, either if we did, like, right there in Ann Arbor. If there was a fire job or something, we would trump to the stairway along. I bring it into him. They've baked my knives. Three weeks 463 to 6 weeks later. Would have a brand new stair rail done everything. That's a problem, but they're gone. Now. I do think Ken's suggestion Man's lumber could handle that for you as well because they've kind of taken over that niche if you will. Locally for you guys up in Flint and the Michigan lumber and there's several throughout the state. That man Well, let me ask you this do you, But but we have to go. But we're up again. "Of Custom Well Solutions. I'm your host, Spike spangle. And if you are wondering what your retirement might look like how to retire when to retire if you can retire. Or maybe you're worried about your investment strategy that income strategy Or are you concerned about paying too much in taxes and retirement? Or maybe paying too little in taxes and retirement? Are you concerned about Medicare? Those market swings the Bulls and bears. And folks, you have tuned into the right program. Mike, are you ready for another great week of helping folks with their personal finances? Absolutely, Spike. Let's do this. All right, Mike and Spike Window and spangle. It's like we were born to do this together. We have been sending out copies of your new book. You've been getting a request for that, right, Mike. Yeah, it's been it's been great. It's very well. Fantastic. The book is at the retirement blueprint. How to keep your money working when you've stopped and for the listeners of this program. If you call in to us, we will send you out a complimentary copy. You don't have to call during the show. Just leave us a message. The phone number is 248 604 CWS or 4 to 97. All right, Mike. There is a lot that's been going on. We're gonna talk a little bit about the retirement blueprint. In our middle segments today, but let's jump right into this. We know that these spending plans for the current administration will involve trillions of dollars trillions. Infrastructure. We're looking at higher taxes in the future. We're told the tax increases are expected to target the wealthy. But somethin sites say that that might actually trickle down to the rest of them. Mike, I have to ask you. It seems like we cover a lot on taxes this year in your program is Is this something to be concerned about right now? This place and obviously like you said, We cover it a lot this year, And it's because obviously, with the change in administration, you know, in the White House and in Congress there comes you knew views new viewpoints. On potentially exchanges, law changes regulations, You know all of that kind of stuff. On top of that we're now entering the last five years, even if nothing changes. Of our current tax laws. So we focus so much on this folks because taxes are, if not the number one thing very, very close to the number one thing and retirement. That can derail U S. So we want to make sure that we're you know, shouting it from the rooftops and from our radio mikes, you know, telling everybody we want you to be listening to this and paying attention to this and planning for this. Another perspective. I think that we really need to cover is that a lot of folks don't realize that we really are in a low tax rate environment. I mean, these are historically some of the lowest taxes that we've had in U. S history. And I know people don't believe that we always feel like we're giving a lot but There are the national taxes. There are state taxes. There are local taxes, and I just feel like I'm getting taxed all over the place. So can we dime a little deeper? Can we talk about the actual impact the taxes can have on our retirement savings. Yeah, Spike. First to your point. I was just out at Webber's in Ann Arbor. So those of you listening W a m out of an army guys know of that place. I was out there for a speech in May a couple times, you know, I always ask, And I say Raise your hand. You know who here? Believes they're paying too much in taxes, right? And as you can imagine, every single arm shoots up faster. You know, I'm always worried. We're gonna have to have shoulder replacement surgery after and sex appeal like me. Me me, right? But as your as you said, we're in texture on sale. We're in the second lowest set a tax brackets in American history. History of America, second lowest, ever. And very close to what was the lowest so that is ending. Whether the current administration changes the rules, or they do nothing at the latest, and I always say best case scenario. In five years in 2026 that is going up. Your taxes are going up. That's automatic. It's happening on. So when it comes to retirement and spike and everyone, let's see you guys have heard me say this on the show so many times retirement is income. And if retirement is income, its net income, which means after you pay your taxes, what are you getting direct deposited into your checking account in your pocket? That's your net income. Obviously, taxes is a huge part of that, and it compounds. For retirees, because if you're like most of us, the majority of your retirement nest egg His pre tax money. Hmm. So is going to be affected and it's going to be affected more in the future as brackets go up. We are so glad that you are listening to us. This is the retirement blueprint guy, Mike Windle of Custom. Well, solutions. So if you're listening to us, you could be in Ann Arbor. Farmington Hills. No Vai Plymouth, Canton, Northville, South Lyon Wicks. Um We are so glad that you have joined us, Michael. Why did they ask you real quick? You said you were you did a couple of live presentations. How did that go? What's it like seeing people again? Yeah, it was really nice like is something you know, To be honest, if the first one was kind of like you forgot what I was doing a little fishing, but then it's like, Oh, yeah, That's right. Nobody can you get a father and you know, once you get going downhill, you can. You can really get your balance, but we actually have a couple more coming up in June. So if you are in some of those areas that spike just ran off and you're close to Plymouth, Michigan, which is where our office is located, as well as where our next couple of events and June are gonna be taking place. Feel free. Give us a call and see if we have any opening spots. Obviously, with everything going on, they are limited. But call us If we have open spots. We can get you in there. Or if not, we get you on a waiting list to see if we can't make sure help you. Yeah, that number is 248 604 CWS 4 to 97. What are the kinds of things that you're talking about in your life events right now. Retirement blueprints stuff, Spike? No, I mean, we're talking about retirement income. We're talking about taxes. We're talking about so security strategies in the best way to claim we're talking about Medicare. We're talking about You're the types of investments that you need to kind of get your head wrapped around. When you're switching from accumulation and working to distribution and retirement. You were covering all of that, and then and then because it's lined with people are able to ask you questions there. Right Spike. I'll give everybody listening. But don't tell anyone else a little secret. I do my speeches differently. I don't have a fancy power point. That I run through slides and give you a bunch of generic, You know numbers. I actually opened it up at the very beginning and the audience the people that have taken that step to actually show up and be there. Get to bring up and say what topics they want me to talk about, and then I go through and go through it all. That is fantastic. So if there's something that's on your mind, come to the live event, come ready to ask your questions and you'll be able to talk. Mike Wendell, the retirement blueprint guy.

"Face out there. I mean my facebook page is all pretty much dog came. I've got a lot of people that'll share my story on her. But that's about as far as it goes. I'm sure that are still people out there. Who know exactly what happened to your sister. They need to stay on thing. 'cause this is thirty. She didn't deserve. She deserves jousted. She deserves to be known i agree. When's the last time you've contacted the authorities about her case. Probably within the past year because what the dna being gone. I thought about having comes by the zoomed. I call the detective or not talked to her about that. She told me honestly that she figured it would not be worth our time because there was so little being a to begin with. She didn't think that we'd be able to get any more. And i told her anything to me is worth my time but i when i Asked my parents about it. You know they were okay with it in the beginning but then a couple of days later after i started trying to find out how much it's going to cost and everything. My dad is long grass. We not to do it. He said that. He wanted to lever roused. And i respectfully and understandably had Abide by that. So the last time i talked to the detectives was within this past year. Do all the time to you know have gotten people. Message me for my stories that i put out there and anything that anybody sons to me out forward to them now. What police department is handling. Your sister's case in michigan state police auto brighton poll. Okay are the brighton post. Okay so let me ask you this last question about your sister for anybody out there. That's listening to this in defending know anything about what happened to your sister all those years ago. What would you say to that person or person if they knew about it and they haven't came forward. What would you say to them. I wouldn't have anything nice to say. I wouldn't have anything nice to say that to him at all. Because if they known about it all the time and they've never came forward and they blow my family's software with us for the past thirty eight years. I don't even think. I should say what i would say okay. I wouldn't have anything to say to them. It was wrong. They were wrong if they kept us information province time if it was somebody that knew cam new our family. No that that's just not right. The weather families suffer like that all this time and not come forward because they knew they knew that there was. She was an awesome person. They know that she did not deserve anything that happened to her. And how could they let this go on for this long. Without somebody being held accountable for it. I would put them in the same category if they knew about it as person that killed her. I have no use for them. They wouldn't be any better in my eyes but detected pot is the one that has kim's case right now she's the one that's in charge of it if anybody does no. I really really wish that you would say something. Put an end to it. Because for me to know earth the thing that it somebody that she knew with south lyon being such a small town walls and all the kids you know they just everybody knew everybody but it's frustrating. It makes me wonder if it was somebody that we all knew. Have i talked to this person. That's what drives be. The worst is thinking that it was somebody we knew and possibly have been talking to this person for years. Not knowing. that's the part. That's hard for me for the conclusion of this episode. I spoke to detective. Angela hunt of the michigan state. Police i asked her if there were any new developments on this case i also asked her what the public could do if they know anything about. Who murdered kimberly. Louis l. nearly forty years ago. I'd spoke to the sister cindy arthur's and cheese still trying to figure out what happened to her sister and she told me that they had thought about exhuming. The body to see if there is any additional dna that could have possibly been missed according to cindy the parents originally supported zoom in the body but then when it got down to it. I guess that her father decided against it. He thought.

"Boyfriend's causing had told my parents that on the twentieth. She's still wasn't home. And that was on a saturday my parents. I'm pretty sure they work that saturday. Because they're were both on but they called down there before they went to work. And that's when the call. The cousin told my parents hugh and make sure she made it home so they went to work thinking that by the time they got home she would be home. There was an altercation between her and her boyfriend that day on the twentieth and he had informed her that because my parents didn't agree with their relationship and he didn't have a car and it was such a distance for from south. Find a rodford that he didn't wanna see her anymore and starting to date somebody else and then he had borrowed his cousins are and he went to work. He loves him at the house. And cam was probably pretty upset with that. Like i said she had just turned sixteen on march third and she went missing out march twentieth but after he left for work and a lot of the newspaper articles that you read it says that boyfriend's brother drove her to eight mile and merriman which that is not true boyfriend's brother was only like fifteen sixteen. He was more kim's age. Like i said her boyfriend was about three years older than her way. A big problem for my parents. But the boyfriend's brother after he left for work the boyfriend's brother walk down to the end of their street. 'cause she was probably pretty upset over what he had just told her and she was gonna head home but when he walked at the end of the street they were at six mile and inkster area called centralia. Yeah when he got older he walked into the end of the street and they waited and waited with her until somebody picked her up once. That person picked her up. He wrote down the license plate number to the vehicle that she got in and the police actually talked to that guy because they got a hold of them through the license plate number and he said that he had dropped her off at eight mile. Merriman week netflix validate that he did drop her off there. Because of a family member of virus seeing her there knows about six thirty at night when she arrived there. The man actually i believe was given the lie detectors tests and passed it but can make phone calls. When she was there she was trying to find a ride the rest of the way home because she was still quite a distance from home. So i know a four people that she called that day. Dating that shows at eight mile maryland. Not looking for a ride home. Everybody that i know of that. She called couldn't go and get her so after them. Phone calls we just really don't know what she did. We don't know if she started walking again. We don't know if she started hitchhiking. My personal opinion. I believe she got a hold of somebody that went and picked her up. I personally don't believe she was killed by a serial killer like they claim. I believe she was killed by someone. Newer one thing that after she made them phone calls like i said it was like six thirty at night and nobody's seen or heard from her. After that point there is no idea where she went from there. He was missing for over three weeks. That would like. I said on march twentieth and they found her body on april fourteen. Nineteen eighty two and they found her was like six miles away from our house where they found her body. And that's what makes me think it was somebody. She knew because area they found her in. I mean there was a dark area unless you do the area. You weren't finding the spot. She was founded counting in grand river. That was in. Huntington knows enough field behind the parking ride. That's right there on the corner and this park and ride is just a little dirt spot. I mean it's so dark over there. You can't see your hand in front of your face if it's at night if you did not know that park and ride was there you aren't gonna find it but the whole thing with park and ride was like i said there was a little dirt lot only fit. Maybe fifteen twenty cars in it. There was a sense that the back of this park and ride and it had a little opening in it on the very left hand side all the way to the laptop that that the local kids and made in there so that they could get through it go to the trails behind there because there was state land that led to a gravel pit that they used to go swimming at all it just seems to quotes donald to me that she would have gotten picked back up at eight mile amirah merriman and then ended up being found six miles from our house in those secluded area. That people really didn't even know. Was there unless you a local and even if you did find the spot at night or something would have had on. The opening was in that fence in order to even get back to the field where they found his body. Somebody that just didn't know the area. What know how to get back there now. You think she was killed there or she was killed somewhere else and dumped there. What do you think no. I think she was killed somewhere else and dumped there. They say she was dead four to six days before her body was found. They didn't say anything about how long they thought she was out there. But they blamed for four to six days before they found her body. I guess that makes sense. I mean if if for bodies back there and you're saying that a stranger would know the area then. It's a possibility that she got picked up by somebody she knew so maybe she called somebody that you're not thinking of or don't know about or maybe one of the four people she did. Contact did actually come out and get her and they just lied. That's a possibility. But i also wonder if there was more caused as she made that. I don't know about like i said i've only i know of for people that she called. There's nothing saying she didn't call it person because at that for people told her that they couldn't come and get her she could have been still calling all the people that we just don't know about the other people in order for her to get picked back up to eight mile merryman in be taken from there and be gone for over three weeks. Nobody heard from her nobody senior. They could've taken her anywhere so it just seems to quincy dan a like. I said that they found her five to six miles from our house from where we lived in south lyon and then area that normal if you went out to stop buying that area and nighttime. I'd be amazed if you've seen that park lot because it wasn't well known like i said in order for anybody that fence school and behind that park i separated that into state land. Nobody would even know that rental was their audit..

"To one another. Yeah. You know what, Frank? On one level, I think you you might have hit it right on. And you've also identified something else and that Zatz censorship that we're witnessing right now. Yes, but I would just say that you know these type of events were you have you know, like on January, 6th. That result that I was seeing a massive rollback of freedom of speech, communication and censorship as you're talking, and I think that honestly looking for something to be able to do the same with the Second Amendment, so I think people need to give long, long hard thought to that. And the sad part of it is like if you want to go out, and every voice is heard in a peaceful fashion. You may find yourself in the middle of you know what is really a false flag situation that people who set up to try to And turn around and roll back our rights. So too, Frank, I appreciate it Just you're telling people be cautious. So I I get that and we thank you for the call. Let's go to South Lyon and we will stay on the alert for our individual rights. You know that because We believe in our constitution, those of us who are conservative, and that's the basis for the way our country should be run the way it has been run for hundreds of years, Kathy and South Lyon on the Frank Beckmann show. Good morning. Good morning. Um our individual rights are disappearing completely. It's because everything's gone digital over the airwaves. Nothing has done between us. Uh, that's attached to the earth anymore. Landlines are gone. Analog TV radio is gone. I don't have to go to my bank or my credit union anymore. Everything is done over smartphone. Right? Cathy? Cathy, aren't these aren't these good things because they make our lives easier to live. No, there's a main switch that can shut it all off. Where's that mean? Switch? Well, the Internet. Um, letter to the editor 30 35 years ago when we were Canceling analog TV and going to HD letter to the editor from a Canadian woman, she wrote The Detroit News back when newspapers were big, we got all communication and news, she said. Don't do this America. We have it here in Canada. And if the government does not want you to see part of a news program, they TV goes into that foggy screen. No, they can cancel it. Shut it off. Completely. I'm on the phone talking to that looks like landline, but it's digital. Women's power. I can't talk to anybody. All right, Well, hang in there and don't don't be too suspicious. Okay? No, This is this is real. Our second Amendment the guns. They kill you now with it. Yeah. Okay, That's it. That's the old mattress. Net guns don't kill people. People do that. Zee bottom line bank. You, Kathy Appreciate the call. You take care of 808 590957. We're gonna be back takes more of your phone calls after we checked up.

I know that you know, plants and stuff can be really overwhelming and you get into the whole science of everything. It's it even makes it even crazier. So I try to keep things simple for everyone. And, you know, just try to have fun with it. Not be not. I don't want people to be intimidated by plants because nobody should ever be inseminated by plants of the natural world. Yeah. You know what that inspired a lot of interest on Facebook live and we hope that those on this talk radio got a lot out of our conversation. A couple more questions up there, but I think we can attack of those. As John said, John. Why don't you hit a couple of those questions? When my brother Dave says that he's going to take the snake plant challenge, But you know, he thinks he can't grow anything You know, he frequently laments that, But can you imagine he lives in South Lyon, Michigan, which is a suburb of Detroit. And for years he's grown a Brigman Zia. Which doesn't take cold. It also has got to be brought in in the winner. But he's done well with the Angels trumpet. Yeah, for You know, probably 10 15 years. You know, I I say this If you say you can't grow something you won't Because you're going in with that attitude. We'll have to admit he does try. So he has proved that he can't grow a lot of things. But, you know, it just depends on what you're interested in Kathy and Neil and mentions that you know, we were talking about weeding. She said. We didn't can be looked at as being therapeutic. Yeah, and you know what if you look at it that way it can Just enjoy being out there in the garden. We'll think about being out on the golf course. If I was out on the golf course not. The thought to me would be you know, I could be home weeding, and I would enjoy that so much more. I can't see you want to go, of course, either. And I just be evaluating all this trouble unless you wanna be my caddy. You get good caddie, John. There's very loves to give him his two cents, of course, and everything very few things that I would, uh, less like to do than playing golf, But I want to know this joshing might be another one of them. You've got a lot of potted plants. Do you know? Yeah. You do. 100 Westerman Hundreds. Are you a moisture meter guy? No. I would never use the moisture meter for any reason whatsoever. Please expand on that for our viewers and listeners. John Well, you know you Well, first of all it I don't understand the purpose of a moisture meter. It tells you if there's moisture in the soil, but it doesn't really tell you whether the plant needs that moisture or not. Right. Well, just tells you how with the soil is being no, Some of them come with booklets, and then they'll say, you know, if it's a one, this type of plant needs to be water. If it's the to this You know, I don't know if there's new moisture meters out there, but you really need to look at the plant and you can tell I can tell by looking at a planet rights water..
A Shop Divided: Union Members Split Over Biden And Trump
"It's here and now Democratic nominee Joe Biden and met with the president of the United Steelworkers yesterday on a whistle stop tour through Pennsylvania and Ohio. Biden is trying to win back union working class voters in the Midwest that helped President Trump win the election in 2016. The president is making the pitch that he's saved American manufacturing, But there are 66,000 fewer manufacturing jobs in Michigan, compared to July 2019 and 48,000 fewer in Ohio. Let's check in with a few union voters. Now Tim Petrovsky is the president of the United Steelworkers. Local 1900, South Lyon, Michigan. Tim. Welcome here now. Thank you. Thanks for having me Joe Biden, clearly making an effort to reach unions and working class voters in this campaign. But do you think he has a chance to get back some of that support that Democrats lost four years ago? I think he has the opportunity. I think it's a tough climb, but I do believe it can happen. Early on 2016 the manufacturing here in Michigan Steel business. It took a pretty good boom. A lot of that was already building but you know, the credit was given that way. You know, one of the things now, obviously, with the mishandling of the Corona virus and everything, a lot of our shops were shut down. The steel is not what it was promised to be the opportunity to speak with Vice President Biden two weeks ago when he was in doing his tour of Detroit, he met with four of us US W workers in one of the things we talked about was the ways to bring manufacturing jobs back to Michigan, he seemed he had a good plan to bring back good paying union jobs, not just jobs. Like it. Our mill we sell Yusa made pipe in our steals bought here in America, and one of the things he promised was to spend government money on products made in America. Right, so if they're going to use steel, they're going to use our steel. But, you know, I remember one of the very early executive orders that President Trump issued was promised to do just that to use US steel in pipelines, for instance, and he's made a big show of supporting the steel industry. Over the years, President Trump has he's slapped tariffs on Chinese steel. He's blamed People like Joe Biden for supporting trade deals like NAFTA. That he says is outsourced American jobs. I mean, what do you make of the argument that President Trump has been good for the American steel industry? Listen, I'm not goingto sit here and say that I don't believe in the beginning that it It was good. You know, it's a released it appeared that way. You know 16 17 even on into 18. The steel was good. I mean, our shop definitely was on optics. We hired 100 people. So we went from 140 ish people, The 2 50. But here we are 2020 in October now And we're down over 100 people. We actually have less people working than we did during that that rise where we're seeing that union leaders are likely to stick with Democrats this election. Just like they did in 2016, But with the rank and file, Tim, what about that? What? You're hearing from the rank and file your coworkers. The guys you work next to Now that's where it's. It's different. Obviously, the higher ups at the U. S W A W Things like that They support Democratic candidates. But there's a lot of people in our shop 20 years ago, this place would have been 95% Democrats. And now it's really split that I'd probably have to say something like 60 40 Republican over Democrat now, So on a lot of that is because of the up flux we had over the last couple of years. They gave that credit there. But now that you know, we're not working as much with the Corona virus or whatever reason. You know they're not willing to associate the blame as well. Right? So it's a really It's a shop divided anymore with the rank and file. I'm curious when you got to work yesterday were people talking about Tuesday's presidential debate. What? What did you hear from folks? Oh, man, it's ah, you know, as the union president at our shop, knowing that our shop is divided I try to avoid the politics conversation honestly at work, but no, it was. It was the big talk. I mean, that that debate was it was something right. I mean, it was Ah. I think it It was not good on believe not good on both sides here at work, even though Trump supporters were not happy with the way he handled himself. And the Biden supporters here were not happy with the lack of message. So, yeah, I mean, it's it's really divided. Tim Petrosky, president of the United Steelworkers, Local 1900 in south Lie in Michigan. Tim, Thanks for taking time out of your day to speak with us. No problem.
