"We will talk to coach stallings here in just a few minutes, more of your phone calls, more guests later on. It's been a busy day already. A Tuesday. Let's get to the calls and buster is in south Alabama. Hey, buster. Hey, Paul, how are you doing today? We're doing great. Thank you. Yes, I was excited to just turn younger, very excited to coach scholars coming home and it reminded me of a story that involves him to show what a great man he is. I think it's about 1992. I was working in a manufacturing plant in Tuscaloosa and I don't see a customer in North Carolina. I was out on the floor and saw a young man with Alabama hat on. So I wandered over there and I said, young man, what's he doing without diamond head on up here in North Carolina? He's so well. My wife and I had a baby last year. And the baby was sick, had the dance syndrome problem. And he said, and we didn't know what to do. We just struggled. We didn't know what to keep a baby or what. I got a phone call. And it was a gentleman and he talked to me for like 45 minutes. Didn't know who he was. But we talked to 45 minutes, and he ended up changing our outlook online. We kept our baby. And he said, I was just the hang of and I said, who is this? He said, well, my name is Jean song. And he said, he said, I wouldn't come in now, then we had the next day, and I've been to Alabama playing ever since. That is what a great man. That is so remarkable to and by the way, buster, I'm sure that there are many other stories that mirror yours. That's just the kind of man he is. And he didn't look for that publicity. People know this. You know, he's not one of these because he didn't call the guy and say, hey, I'm coach darling. You know, the guy had to get that out of him, and so I always been a coach coach songs fan. And I too, he reminds me so much for coach Bryant and I just want to let people know that today. So I appreciate you taking my call. Now buster, I'll tell a quick story before we get coach on. And this was told very reliably. It's not like some urban legend. He was very concerned years ago about stem cell research. Because of the sun, Johnny. And he happened to be in Washington speaking, and he knew everybody. And I'll tell the story quickly. I think we're about to have more. So anyway, he's they're about to go to the airport and he says, let's go and see president Bush and he literally called somebody that was president Bush's George W. Bush his right hand man. And within 20 minutes he was through the west wing into the Oval Office. Not a conventional person by any stretch. And I ran that story. I told some people a couple of months ago and we were talking about that story in the show. The guy gave me his name, these are a lot of a lot of Texas a and M people connected to the Bush family, obviously, through president Bush, as well as George W. Bush, who did not obviously go to Texas. Okay, it's going to be a couple more minutes before we talk to coach stallings. So let me try James and West Palm Beach. Hello, James. Hi, hey, Paul. How are you? We're doing great. Thank you for the call. Hey, by the way, you're an icon in the context of college football. Thank you. It's an honor to speak with you. I appreciate that. Well, it's true. So the ACC and the PAC 12. I'm in Miami fan down here in Florida. That's also an ACC fan. I don't want to lose Florida state to the and I know that there's the contract is very onerous they're probably not going anywhere, but I have a solution, which I think is a little creative. And it's this. It actually solves the problem for the PAC 12 and the ACC. They merge, right? And so now it's a national conference with the West Coast, the pack coast and the Atlantic coast. Now the big problem, of course, is logistics. How do you move these people? More quickly, because coach is waiting, but the issue is always television and that's where the complications come in. The ACC already has its agreement. By the way, it also has its own network and the PAC 12 has its own network and that's where it would become a major conflict. Thank you for the call. I'm sorry we have to wrap that up. But we have coach stallings on the phone now and it's always such a pleasure people have already been calling in, talking about coach, coach stallings, great to have you back on the program and good afternoon. All good talk to you, my friend. You know, coach, I want to tell you this and a man just called in and I'll tell you the story. He said that years ago, a long time ago now, he and his wife, I believe they lived in North Carolina about could be wrong. They had a down child. And he got a call, and he was talking to this man for about 30 or 40 minutes. Who was helping him and explaining what he had been through in his own life in coach. He said, what did you say your name was? Again, he said, this was like 1992. So I'm Jane stallings. He said, the coach at Alabama said, yes, sir. He did not even know who he was talking to and you had called him and I don't know the background on it, but I just wanted to compliment you. I've heard a million stories like that over the years of the people that you have helped. Based on your life experiences. Well, I appreciate it, Paul, I appreciate you saying that, but anytime I felt like I could help somebody, it was my pleasure to be able to do so.

"With teenage boys trying to numb into and they came around and testified about how they feel raped. Great. It's a mega medicine. And all these laws, these things are happening because of Washington D.C.. Being legislated, it's a law. And then we think we have a pretty resentment administration that, you know, from the private sector that know everything that's going on in the country. So we think of that, wow. Wow. For the show out. You know, there's a different different to put everything in place. Oh God. No, there's some wrong talking about you. It's not about you. No, if he had never ran for president, we couldn't stay on our course, a fight in the Democrats. Because we already know that the problem they had in south Alabama. They didn't listen. This would turn homosexual. Go down. I went through this. I'm not talking about what I asked. I went to the mayor of Selma, Alabama. This name was Joseph. I knew that Josh was a homosexual too. But I didn't know that joy by him being almost sexist about Michael Jackson being a homosexual. I didn't know that he was just, he told me, well, you know, if you got a legal problem with best to go out of time, you know, his best go out of time to get you a lawyer. I mean, this is what we have to deal with. This is what we have to deal with. Then you go to the new south core mission and it's another problem. These are government funded organizations. And here comes child protective service. Telling lies about me. Now personally telling lies about me personally because they feel like the course of the course of jammed up, you know what? You know, you ain't gonna get no justice in the court system. And then that's why I thought the last administration was gonna do something. Because it's so obvious that no one has no one is. I thought Ben Carson was gonna do something. Because, you know, because you know you're looking for Anna copper spurs and I call the prince administration. They say, well, we want to deal with accomplished people. So that's it, but yeah, being constantly over hood, so here comes 'cause he'll serve us. You know, so I said, wow, I have never heard of him really. And so I was like, wow. I went to D.C.. Trying to find a place to stay now. He over hood. Still hurt. I wanted to do something trying to find a place to stay. And I'm a disabled veteran now. This ain't a veteran. I went to D.C., our nation's capital to just found a place to stay so I can track down somebody that would help me find my door. I couldn't find. I couldn't find him. Let alone someone place to stay. He didn't even have an office in Washington D.C.. But he advertised on TV that he over hood. He's over her. Enough, I see more of him on television than I can see him while he was in The White House. That's good. So that's where we are. As black people. And so when I was young, I was going back to the scripture that I was there by testifying. God sent an angel to testify onto us. These things in the churches. And that's what we found out in the Christian baptist church. I was born into a medicine was born into this. But her grind she was fortunate more than me and a lot of ways. Her grandfather raised her and he was a he was a member of the courageous 8. Reverend JD hunter. I felt a good inspiration from him, you know, being around. I was fortunate enough to spend some time with him when my first daughter was the daughter now that's missing out of her home. Being around him, it was inspiring. And I don't want to, you know, start because families have a right to portray their relatives the way they choose to portray them. Like I have a right to portray my father the way I choose to portray him. But by him being a member of the courageous 8, I say some things about him. You know, I don't try to get too down deep into real personal stuff. But he was a great man. You know? And so, but he didn't want to sell it now. He a member of the courageous 8th. You go there, I think they play as a treat. This is still right now, though. He was a member of the courageous 8. And you know, he's noted as being a member of the courageous, but he did things that people in sell them right now is claiming that they did. You know, I don't want to get too far into that. But at the same time, it's absolutely true. But because and then, see the truth is something that when you live in a situation when you personally there, you can relate. What happens to you based on what's going on? And that's the same that we, it kind of got me when I got on my course, but a history that was written a thousand years ago. Wow. We got people right now. It's right in history. About something that they claim when they did, and they ain't, they didn't even come close. Not even come close. No, I don't know. There's nowhere, it's been written yet. But the United States government is legislating immorality through the court in the court system. I don't think no one's writing about that. Everybody's talking about this just a great. You know what I mean? It's okay to have a good attitude, a positive attitude. But the truth matters. I learned coming up in my family that the truth stands by herself. The truth is truth I now stand a life, you got to put another life with that loud. You keep it slow. And we don't want to go down that avenue. You know, we don't want to just all of a sudden that's take off down the enemy. You know, we're thinking that there would be no repercussions. Because that will be a lottery. And that will repercussions now. We got people looking for similar milk. And our community, we got people teasing each other about similar drugs. I mean, that's too far down the totem pole. That is too far down the totem pole. And we can't, and then we went to look, that went to. I had lawyers. I pay the lawyer and sell my Alabama to try to get my stuff straightened out. And I told them to probe. Come to find out about him being a homosexual too..

"Now the place is owned by music industry giant Mike curb. And we're going for a conversation with Bobby tomberlin, one of the most successful songwriters in country music today. Curb word is a place where the energy is always flowing. And as a songwriter on staff there, Bobby is expected to bring his a game every single day. He's got to stay inspired and he's expected to write songs on demand for superstars. And that's just what he does. A lifelong singer and guitarist this Grammy CMA and ACM nominee was born with a great set of pipes. That's how we describe it in radio. Bobby got his start in the music business when he was 11 years old, as an announcer for W LVN. His little hometown radio station in luverne, Alabama, and you're going to hear him tell that story in this interview. Now he's also got mad guitar skills, and here's how he learned to play like a pro. I would sit in my room, and I would play a Waylon Jennings record. And I would pretend I was in a recording studio, and when it came time for the lead, the solo, I pretended that I was the guitar player, and I had to play it well. That's what I call a work ethic, even at a young age, right? This interview was recorded in one of the writing rooms at curb word, where there was a guitar in the corner and a keyboard and a huge blackboard on the wall, just waiting for lyrics to the next country song to be written. I'd heard a story about how Bobby once sang a duet with the great Loretta Lynn and so I started out the interview by asking him to take us back to that incredible bucket list moment. She invited me to sing one of the Conway Twitty Loretta Lynn duets with her at her July 4th celebration up at her ranch. She had a big 4th of July festival there thousands of people would attend and of course I jumped at the chance, but I'm not going to lie to you. I'm usually pretty calm. I was really nervous because she says, oh yeah, arrive maybe an hour early and we'll go over it and make sure the key is right. Well, I get there and the leader says, well, no, she says there's no need to rehearse. And I'm like, I've never even sang with her. What was the song? It was called lead me on. So tell me what happened? Well, she called me out there. I was really nervous and she was seated in this chair like a throng. Like the queen that she is. And I was nervous and really doing a lot of praying and, you know, I never sang that song before and thank goodness I remember my lines, and it worked, but however I was told it was going to be in one key, then when they started, it was like a whole step lower, so trust me, that was as low. And I can go pretty low. How low? But that was one time. I mean, I was like reaching for it. And I'm like, I don't want this to fail, you know? But it turned out good. It was like a roller coaster ride. And the next morning, I started seeing pictures of the performance and seeing pictures of me sitting there with lower Atlanta and I'm like, I can't even believe this because as a kid, down in south Alabama, I went to see Conway and Loretta in so many other greats. Then I just started thinking about that experience and then other wonderful experiences that I've had, and then this song. I've lived country music. Just really wrote itself. And so you end up in a recording studio, not just any recording studio. Well, I wasn't planning on even recording this song because well, number one, I knew it wasn't going to be pitched to another artist because it was my story. And I thought at first, maybe this story was just a little too much of like, look what I've done. And then I just happened to walk into wishbone studios and muscle souls Alabama to visit an old buddy of mine, Billy Lawson, who recently bought the studio. And I walk in there and oh my gosh, it was like walking back into 1979. The equipment updated, but the vibe, the atmosphere was so like Hank Williams junior recorded family tradition. He really found his sound there. But people like the temptations, Roy Orbison, recently T Graham Brown, Sammy Kershaw, had recorded new records there. And Billy says, you need to record here. And I'm like, you know what? I have just the perfect song. We're going to play that song right now. Would you introduce it for us? I will. Well, here's some pretty much a four minute story of my life in song. I've lived country music.

Delorean where they had to shoot one of the big the big finale of season wine where there's all the storm troopers dot com. They realized that they didn't have enough stormtroopers as actors for that shoot the next day so they called the five hundred first legion. Which is the cost play fan group inherited group and they called him and said put out a call. Get all they've got better costumes than the actual actors do. Come on out and we don't. We can't tell you what it's about but come on out and they got to be like in the mandatory and season finale. So it's very similar to what you're describing on. Where do you think the you goes no though now. I mean now that we've kind of have to restart things. Well you know. An coming from marvel and watching the tv series from wanda vision. Loki falcon and winter soldier. And how they plan with time. Lasse we seen it in the and one division where scholar which became scholar with reading the book that was actually taken out from doctor. Strange lobby is which people don't we don't realize it. And then we get loki where we see he who remains which become came to conquer right and he's like he's the co conspirator about what took place from iron man to infinity war in games he was like macy's slow us behan he's like pretty much so but if you kill me i can't. I'm not responsible. What comes knicks right Is this a lot of plan on time line now. So what's the happen. It's kind of like it's possible like the people that we saw in in gay is possibility. They may come back so it's now since the time line is kind of expanded. Now what about you. What do you think where does the you go from here. I'm excited because now they have full control over the fantastic four next men. I'm trying to. I'm i can't wait to see wet factor. "The problem is that the headwinds for joe biden continued to blow even stronger and it takes awhile for people once. They've digested the good news to rationalize that the good news is not just for them before their neighbors this is what are the things i have learned over the years about economic news when you cover it particularly win i i definitely have a partisan been to how i see things. This is something. I have had to learn over the years of the we all need to remember. It takes about a year after good news for people to embrace it. Why because americans tend off the internet at least to love their neighbor. What does that mean. Well when you realize the news good you still perceive the news to not be good for your neighbors and until you feel like your neighbors. Themselves have benefited. You don't believe the economy is good. It may be good for you but you presume that your neighbor is bad off until your neighbor himself confirms that he is well off and it takes a while for that to happen so even if let's say dramatically that the headwinds shifted it would take a little while for joe biden to be able to recover from this It takes about a year for economic news to release seep into the consciousness at the same time it doesn't on the other side When things get bad for you you presume it's just you. It takes you a while to realize that your neighbors well it it can be. It's like turning a big ship and it takes some time concurrent to all of that happening. What is my goodness, It made me sad. In a continues to highlight the difference between the haves and the have nots, Okay? And at some point we got to correct this man or it's the sport itself is just gonna It's going to wither away into it. Just being another professional league. What is it? Alcorn State You've heard of Alcorn status? An hbcu. Okay, um, they have a big game coming up with South Alabama. Alright, South Alabama is the bigger school than Alcorn State. South Alabama paying Alcorn State to play him, Not a mobile. Alright, okay, It's going to make the university some money. Okay? All right. Here's here's the issue. Alcorn State, though, was unable to have practice yesterday. Because They do not have A full time athletic trainer. And the part time contract ID trainers at work without corn state. Mhm are all out with Covid 19. Part time trainers. The contract with the local, Um Yeah, right in, uh And so they don't have any full time trainers. They don't have anyone on staff that's in their bubble, you know, essentially On the college level of athletics. You need trainers. You have to have trainers at your beck and call? Yes, you have to have trainers. You have to have them. Can you imagine the liability if they practice or without trainers? This is ridiculous is basically what you have is somebody that can break their leg of the On the field, Whatever, whether it's a football field or basketball court. And you have nobody knows what to do, right? But you could call an ambulance like the rest of us Do. Yeah. Yeah, initial But then you'll go down the road to Alabama and Alabama have 30 trainers at the practice. I don't know. I don't know what you do about that. You know, there's just all that that made me sad. Well, it's you know, there's there's uh, you know you have you have Harvard's and you have Alcorn State's And I don't know if you fall to Harvard. Or look at the Alcorn State, so you don't need to be playing football. If you can't do it, right. But who? What Administrator says you know what? The area I'm going to cut? I'm going to cut the athletic trainers. That's where we save some money. No. You know, they're the ones and I. It's not what I would do either. That's the ones that should be fired. Yeah, I would get down. You'd have to look at cut. You have to cut a sport. Or yeah, or you figure out other ways. I mean, you cut back in certain other way. We don't come to training staff. I don't know. I know That's not what one down, but I just happened to see it. And I thought, man that just just bummed me out. Uh, Fort Worth The mask mandates are once again prohibited in the forward school district. This was another temporary injunction. That was reinstated Monday by the appeals court. And so this court of Appeals for the second appellate court in Texas ruled Monday that the district cannot legally in force a mask requirement. To prevent the spread of Covid 19. While the lawsuit makes its way through the courts, and so that means until January. Okay. Okay. That's when the court date is set. You leave. This is just there's no ending to this. I don't know. You know, I don't know. I don't have kids in school. You do? Yep. Um, got grandkids, of course. But That's close to having kids in school. Yeah, it's very close. Very, very close. And But let's go back to the Let's go back to how ahead go back to thing in this says You can't wear the mask. Oh, no, That's not what we're talking about. You wear a mask if you want to to school, exactly And so sure if you want your kid to wear the mask, and you are Adamant that they wear the mask worth where the mask No one says you can't is that is that part of the controversy? Surely that can't be part of the controversy. If a kid wants to wear a mask repairs, want them to where it but that's that's been at the root of this thing. We've had this discussion before. You know, there's nothing that the government that the governor mandates morning. You know, nothing that says You can't wear a mask. So where mask if you want to? But why force everyone else to wear the mask? Well, it it all boils down. In my opinion that's address asking Is, uh, like if kids Scribner When he issues that mandate we will be masking up in the forward. I s d. He's doing everything in his power, probably to protect the teachers and the Children. Yes, I don't think I don't think kids Scribner, uh, woke up one morning. What can I do to piss everybody off today? A vote work. You don't you don't think the scriptures at all political Know that? I don't know. I would hope that is very first. Wait a minute. Our hope that his first thought is what can I do to keep the kids and teachers safe? And this is you know what? I'm gonna set a good example. And I'm going to honor authority. That's a that's a great point. I'm going to honor my the authority of the governor of Texas, right which he did. I guess the governor has authority over kids Scrivener, which he didn't do. And so now that you're looking to say See kids you don't have to honor authority exactly. Yeah..

"The road against bowling green. Yes, the Falcons covered last week, But that was more Tennessee shooting itself in the foot and Joe Milton just being kind of Not exactly the most purest passer south. Alabama's defense is solid, held Southern miss the 258 yards of total offense, one in a blowout laying, too. I think the Jaguars will bring that same defense and they're not messing around. They're not going to take bowling green lightly. They are not Alabama there, South Alabama. But they're going to go kind of beat up on a bad school bowling green. Um, just one of the worst teams in FBS the last couple years, at least statistically and on the field as well, Although the 14 with South Alabama And if you look if you're going to gamble on a team on the 20th anniversary of 9 11 you gamble on USA Alright, that is what you do You gamble on us, A University of South Alabama number two for me, Texas The Longhorns. In Arkansas 96 a half here for the Longhorns again, I think they I think it's an 8 10 point game. I think Texas is workman like their business like now, under Steve Sarkeesian, very impressed in week one about that what they're showing against Louisiana, Arkansas. Defensively, they create turnovers. That's an interesting matchup with the freshman quarterback Hutson cars on the road. We'll see. I think Texas is just another tier up just like just like Utah or BYU. Give me the horns minus 6.5. All right, So you got a good number there. That's good. We talked about that I'm learning. Yeah, the bell curve, right? The belt. You're getting inside that No, that's there's always key numbers and for the most part There's not really key numbers in college football. We have, like 40 Point wins, but it is good to get laid the sixth half and not the seven especially factor in overtime and things like that. I mentioned I'm picking on the Mac..

I l l virginia minus against the align i gangster pete where you locking illinois in that game but i want on the record on the records. I'm going south. Alabama at bowling green. Bowling green is won a game since two thousand nineteen south. Alabama has south carolina's quarterback. Jake bentley and. They're playing a lot better. So i'm taking south. Alabama minus fourteen at boeing green. Lock in there. It is the south alabama surprising. Shout out here on the podcast. Who is up next would be yup. Yeah i along with the with the g unit. I like watching football team. Got good defense and I got them plus one. I didn't get them a Peckham but i still like it regardless of what because you're getting a point so how was being so we think we're gonna whatever that's line is you'll have our i was. I was being facetious there. But yes sloshing football team plus one take it to the house. All right action jackson's in let's see projo. You're up next. I was laughing a little bit ago. Here or there there was your fucking hurricane. You can't just play where there's hurricanes i understand but then with hurricanes so i am going to have a play tonight at nine thirty. I'm taking the united states minus one fifteen money line In honduras they both have two points. They both played el salvador in canada. Exact same results in both of those games for both teams one. One against canada zero zero against el salvador. The united states is a better team than honduras. They will not go through the first three games of the fourteen game stretch without winning. They will bounce back tonight. And i will take the united states money. Line minus one fifteen Any thoughts on in the money line of the us in honduras not enough. I knew my lock. You have honduras and the usa under half wow. I didn't even know that was the line. The total is under a under. No excuse. I don't even know you're being facetious to. Oh my locker. I'm going to the sam. Darnold bowl I get something to prove. "Lindor bonnet center town. You mentioned offensive and defensive lines similar when you know we have been in linda bomb and And van valkenburgh. You know we have. And then there's just a lot of moving pieces a lot of moving parts random and when you move ahead to a game against deanna. That's that's something that's going to be interesting listening to curse tonight The it's a big offense of wine for indiana so the and vice versa With with the indiana wanting to put pressure on quarterback and and beyond attack mode Bech balata trenches against indiana. Obviously it is by every single game but it seems like this game even more so is is just super intriguing when it comes to. What do we know about indiana other hoosiers and other coming off a sixty one conference braun. Hoppy lost game six to their quarterbacks facts that got talent act and they've done a really good job reinvigorating report having a rebirth of a program. That's indiana's basketball school. So it's been an impressive thing to watch from afar. What they've done in india you. Tom allen's done a nice job in his ten years. Really kind of you know if they had a breakthrough last year for sure. So the intriguing thing with when when you look at iowa and what's going on with offensive line is their defense. Loves to put pressure on you. They're gonna blitzer lot. Mike mcfadden at linebacker is dynamite players. All big ten level player. They move him all over the field and bring him at different angles. So that's the concern you have from. Iowa's perspective is that let's wine. How do you get that cohesiveness that that comfort level with each other when he was seven guys in and out so they're going to have that challenge of divine nancy's at safeties another all big ten player They just loved it. Kinda create pressure turnover events. Seventeen interceptions last year. It is different though this year because came womack their defensive coordinator last year Is now the head coach at south alabama so You know womack out in. They brought in charleston warren There's really kinda from what i understand. Kind of minor changes. Maybe some terminology changes but other still gonna do consent saying you know were iowa's got like a cash they calling husky which is of a different word for everyone. Those guys a hero position. Or whatever it is on third linebackers. Some kinda hyped up safety thing And then on offense. Michael junior back towards a seattle in november last year. Nobody remembers the penn state game last year where he scores And wednesday game even though maybe he didn't score but they didn't know relet in the the video booth so but he's a dynamic. Everybody's tore his acl twice. He's not a. He kinda has a reputation as a runner but he's more of a mover than a runner. Just kinda buys time in the pocket more than just kinda taken often. Running with the football knows to extend plays with his legs The big arm likes to throw downfield In that makes dangerous because he can extend those plays and then you just lose a guy and he'll just launch down the field It kind of a. It's going to be an interesting game. Because what kind of pass rush. Can i get on him. Is he gonna be back there. Just picking away I think that's part of the cat and mouse game. That's going to go onto a wide. Receiver tied frightful is an all big ten player. Probably would be certainly would benefit an nba nfl draft pick glance. He decided to stay another year. He was the top wide receiver in the big ten conference over two hundred yards receiving against ohio state last year. So he's he's the legit deal. I mean that you know. The ohio state is pretty good last year. They also brought in a canadian car from you. I see who's running back and he's he wondered a starting ryan back jobs. That's gonna come jolt. Thorough run game a bit high sink At least that's what they're hoping that he kinda provides them with a bit of a spark I should also mentioned tight end Hendershot is really good to a shot really good player experienced guy Fifth year guided the came back so they have some channel Got some big offense lineman You know one of the guys is like greece. Seventy five or something. Kale jones. A six six three sixty two. And he's he's lost some weight to get the three sixty good for him The aso they've had their offense wasn't great last year. It will want pressure. So we'll see how they've improved it some interesting interesting Game on an island. Step their streak of twenty two games in a row where they've given up twenty four points. That's a big deal everyday arisen. Twenty two point two games in a row that iowa has given up twenty four points or fewer It also that's that's an impressive streak gets the longest in the country and It's going to be put to the test. The next two weeks for sure We always we don't always but you did send out a call for questions. Our good friend. John singer who thought he was late. I did realize that we're weirdos. That new these played at night you late said he wanted to know which matchup remorse orton saturday. I was defensive. Line versus dini. An of wine kinda talked about that a little bit or the indian defensive backs patriots. And the i will wide receiver so we talked about the offense even line a little bit for iowa's than the wind for for indiana We mentioned the wide receivers. How good is the indiana secondary. And i think really what you kind of talked about that. I think is the biggest factor in that whole mess is how much pressure spencer teachers hats. I think if he can stay comfortable may not rush decisions. That makes any sense. Ben than i think he can have a nice day and so i don't know if the if it's iowa's wide receivers peach versus the secondary as much as it is making sure he stays upright and and not rushed and and and not rattle your thoughts on those two battles between between in this game coming up johnson. Yeah i think. I'd still go with the the the line play. I just think that's so borton for iowa To be able to get pressure because in be able to stop the run. Everything iowa does when they're successful you just look it up there you know like last year. They limited opponents to. I think it was two point six yards per carry in that sets everything else up because you get people in second law and then you can kinda dictate the terms of Of play if you will so..

"As mandate don't you want to protect your your fellow Texans? And you know, you even have the governors of South Alabama and West Virginia saying oh look, we're not going to lift that mass Band-Aid because it's saving people's lives. So, you know, I mean, we're definitely seeing progress, you know with these, you know, home of governorships and right state so to speak, but we still have some The end of all types, you know, thinking, you know bravado engaging in Verrado and thinking that you know, my genetic superiority will protect me from covid-19. Houses and so on but the consequence of that was that a lot of people decided screw the rules Screw The Cove. Protocol that we need to be following in this country and they just started going to the beach back to the pool and having their parties birthday parties and all the rest of it. And and what that does is it sends the signal to other people who are trying to do the right thing, but then they see, you know, they see their friends or family doing irresponsible things. They go. Well, I don't want to miss out on the everyone's going to the beach. So I'm going to go to the beach to human beings are nothing if not flockers we tend to do what we see other people dead. Monkey. See monkey do New York. Yeah is the is the metaphor? Yeah. So when you see a state like Texas reopening at a a populous state like that where there is there is there are so many people there the effect of that is going to be well, why can't we reopen look Texas is doing it. Why can't we do it now? And so everybody starts to do it. Thank God, Mississippi. Or I think it's Alabama that's holding on to their restrictions. Yeah, and some other states are still keeping their masks mandates and so on but the effect even with the mask mandates even with the Statewide project calls in place. People are still going to violate them and go and want to do things because they see other people doing it. And that's one of the primary dangers. I think from this ridiculous Greg Abbott decision off right as we're nearing the end of it too and the other thing we're right here at the end. And so after a year of sacrificing what we should now risk getting it at the office right before we're about to get vaccinated for God's sake it seems like, you know the goal line here and then this idiot decides to break in, you know, you know screw with these people now now. Cuz I know a lot of times, you know, you don't have a lot of time so I have to get your legal analysis, you know, so and Bob Hope you could stay for a while because I know and you will abandon me at some point cuz wage Okay, we had the law practice to attend to Andrew now we're seeing the hearings about the Insurrection. The FBI is investigating people like Lauren beaubourg and their cell phones because they were she was literally giving out speaker Nancy Pelosi's location to the insurrectionist. Andrew is anything going to be done legally to these people? Yeah my opinion. Yes, I think you know, it'll they're building their case. There's there's there's no question that any you know legislator who who was involved in in the sense of direction, you know, either in the planning aspects or you know aiding and abetting and and their ability to penetrate the capital. I think they're going to they're going to have to answer for that. I think that you know, it's very difficult to go after Senator. It's very difficult to go after a congressman, you know, a representative. Usually they'll make a deal for their seat and they'll get out and they'll be a non-prosecution agreement wage. You know that's kept quiet. But I think that this is such a you know, a new uniquely bad situation that we just came through that I think in order for us to talk to really kind of heel and really restart the law and have it respected in the future you need to have consequences for people that you know are higher up that that we're actually, you know, a part of this of this debacle part of this this attack on our on the our country's very existence. So I you know, I'd be shocked to be quite honest if nothing would recur, you know, I think we're going to see you know aside from just you know, the federal charges and and and and actions going to see a lot of State actions as well because you know, there was a lot of money that thousands of dollars that were sent to you know, this organization coordination, you know, you know, and and that money has to go from the banking system has to go to the wire system so you may get some State involved. They're depending on where it came from. I mean if it's just all located in DC, that's one thing that's Federal. But you know, if you if you kind of have other States involved, especially when it come from overseas, you're going to go through the New York fed to go through the different federal banks and you know, the the corresponding states where these things are located have jurisdiction over these types of actions wire fraud Bank phone as I said, so, you know We gotta give it time. You know, I I can't give you a specific prediction and when I think things are going to happen, but they'll happen. You know, it has to otherwise, what's the point of even electing Biden, you know, we might as well just have faith Trump in there and and just buy a lot of Bitcoin or something. I don't know and and and the thing that always scares me and Bob feel free to chime in the thing that scares me off is You know and this is something that bothers me and I'm and I'm a registered Democrat. But what bothers me is that we become complacent and we don't hold these people accountable. It's just like when Barack Obama appointed Merrick Garland and and and nine months out of his, you know, you know out of the election and they prevented that from happening but we're we're not should have fought harder to have that happen. I understand his reasoning why he didn't but he should have I'm afraid the Democrats are going to be just as complacent with this what say you would think that we're it's different. I think by these different I think we're going to see a much different, you know approach Biden's just like look, we'll try by Partnership..

Ah, little couch change. Maybe, maybe a little bit more. It really great. It's strong. Gold with South Alabama. A decision now, Stella better tonight and what it's gonna probably be a pic of your saying, right, Mike, right and close to Carolina. I just looked it up to the Shanta clears. You guys know what a Santa Clara it's a shit. It's like it. Z some sort of sick bird. I thought it's some sort of a bird, right, E. I don't know what a sick bird but I guess. It's the bully bird, the dominant bird in the barn yard. Well, they got another say yes. Clear. Yeah, They got another thing coming. They're not dominating anything tonight, Guys go with south Alabama, Alabama. That's the bonus play. We're all over Super Bowl 55 tonight. Looking forward to Michael seeing a little bit right, guys take their Super Bowl your take their man like there's Mike north. Yeah, We got odds. Couple tonight. Do not miss it. Seven until eight. And then the encore replay tomorrow morning at eight o'clock. All right, guys, Let's wrap the week with our favorite Super Bowl games. We've been doing something Super Bowl related at this time every day this week getting ready for Super Bowl 55. Obviously Super Bowl 20. I mean, we We've got to do something other than Super Bowl 21, Right? Merc. I mean, that's obviously our favorite Super Bowl when the Bears Yeah, that's three. Come to mind for me. If you make me pick one. I'll try. But it's hard, the three that come to mind when, when Mark asked the question. Rams Titans Cardinal Steelers Patriots Falcons. Those three come to my mind more than any other. I might go with cardinals and Steelers If I was forced to pick absolutely want some of the Patriots Falcons game with a dot in the first what was but think about the way that game finished and how much fun it was getting the paint the Cardinals. Steelers Super Bowl featured Kurt Warner back for a third time. Ben Roethlisberger Ah 100 yard interception return for a touchdown at the end of the half. And then maybe the greatest touchdown catch toe win a Super Bowl. Ever right with Santonio Holmes, Right, Right. In the corner of the end of that game featured. It was the top of Mohammed holders like that game had it all. All right. So what's category? Just like that Super Bowl you've ever seen Super Bowl pointy? That's what I said. I said you can't go unsuitable 20 Super Bowl 20. Don't tell me what I can and can't master really going to Falco down the right side. Good kid, Johnny Handsome. It was Super Bowl 20. If not, Matsui run like I can't do it in Los Angeles, Pittsburgh Glossy angels, I believe was 1979. 79 fair. Gamma was a quarterback. Yes, he watches in the Pittsburgh Steelers. There were catches be made by Lynn Swan and John Stallworth that just made just say. Beautiful. You're the fall that game for me will go to the bathroom. Call Melanie. You know for me, Believe it or not, I think it's actually the first game. I actually have memories of watching from start to finish its Super Bowl 23, the San Francisco 40 Niners taking and the Cincinnati Bangles for the second time down in Joe Robbie Stadium. The Bangles were leading. And sure enough, Joe Montana in the 40 Niners got the ball. I believe it was the minute 52 like that, like that left on the clock and then Joe Montana inside the huddle. As they were getting ready to go on that last minute drive. There, he knelt down and the his legend has it, he said. Hey, look, is that John Candy in the stands? That's the legend to calm the nerves of his players and then, sure enough, he led them down, throwing a touchdown pass to John Taylor to go ahead and take the victory. And I remember as soon as the game ended. Me and my three friends when right out right out the front door and played a little two on two down the down the gangway football and it was like that's like my memory of symbols. That's where began for me. So for me, that's like my favorite. So that's really good. And your legend does have it that that's what Montana did to calm everybody down. He goes. Hey, look, John Candy's in the stands over there. Pretty amazing looking kid who much chance E I don't know about that handsome fellow Some ladies like the big ice. What are you doing? Avocados show Mark. What do you think? Crazy enough, Joe Montana said yesterday. That was John Taylor's only catching The suit. That's super. That's crazy is mine is gonna be kind of personal woman I was at the game was I've never said better seats ever for a game with 50 yard line for some reason. The NFL gave us like four seats myself. Bob Bruce and Peter Brown were sitting three seats away from Ice Cube. It was detect. It was in Houston. It was a Patriot first, the Panthers was one last second field goal by Adam Monetary, and it was just such an unbelievable experience. That is by far my favorite to another. There was another Brady military rally, and that was another great game. All right. What does everybody think? Casey or the bucks? I think, Casey, but I don't have a ton of Casey. Plus feel 15. Plus, I know murder, he says. Don't bet against Tom Brady. Right? That's right. So it works going Buck's mother ride with your ego. I think the chief's going this by double digits here we're going to see. Hopefully it's a good game, and we won't damage to Brady's reputation. If you know w never lost by double No, it doesn't. But you know what it does. It gives. It gives my homes of fighting shot if he could get his second Super Bull and holds Brady to six. It's not outrageous. He could catch him or he could. Because the other way, though I don't know if if it goes 7 to 1, it becomes difficult to envision it. Thank you to Mike North. Thank you, too. Todd ferment for joining us today. Thanks for listening, calling and participating. The show. Everybody enjoy the weekend. Remember the water on Soviet Big game pregame on the twitch Channel 3 to 5 this Sunday. Don't miss that. Enjoy the game. We're breaking it down on Monday, greenies. Next. Then Waddle and Sylvie, then Black and Abdullah and Mike and I have odds. Couple tonight at.

"The J. R sport brief on CBS Sports Radio. They are first appreciate you taking my fall shows amazing. That was done on Jared. Thanks for keeping us all understand. Everybody at home are out working where we loving them, calling Now with 855 to 1 to four, CBS That's right. It's the J. R sport Brief show here with you on C. B s Sports radio. Having a conversation about a recently retired quarterback. Bill Rivers he has announced. He's done. 17 years in the league. He's hanging it up. He's going down to South Alabama to coach a high school football squad. No more Chargers. No more cults. Just kids. God bless him. But Phil Rivers for all of his accomplishments fifth all time in passing With all time and passing touchdowns played. He was an iron man. 252 consecutive starts. Beginning portion of his his career big time winner. Had some pockets and marks where the team unfortunately with the Chargers didn't win became average. But he's been around. And he's been silent. He has been a contributor. The majority of his career, even as he finished up that final year with the Indianapolis skulls. So the question to you is is Phil Rivers. Hall of Famer. This spill Rivers. Deserving, you know, to be recognized as one of the best and greatest quarterbacks. Of all time. I think when you look at all things considered His longevity. His consistency. His contributions. The only thing against him that you might say is his playoff record. But does that take away? His is full accomplishments. Yes. What, five and seven. 16 touchdowns. 10 interceptions, one NFC title game that he played in hurt. Say he's right on the edge, but damn it. I put him in. The phone lines opening right now. 855 to 1 to four CBS That's 855 to 1 to four. CBS. You can also tweet me at J. R. Sport. Brief. Phil Rivers is he Hall of Famer Does he deserve to be in Canton? I say yes. Travis is calling up for Morgan. Travis, You are CBS Sports Radio, the J. R Sport Brief show. What do your thoughts on Phil Rivers? You put him in the Hall of Fame. Oh, definitely. This is one of the few times that I actually agree with one of your point. I do listen to you every day, but he's is a game reason dude, just You look this track record? Yeah, he doesn't have too many posters and winds, but 17 years in the league. That zoo statement right there, a staple. Okay. All right. That's kind of my thing. And I'm a huge Packer fan and watching his throwing motion is like watching Gilbert Brown. Dr. Take off a wet T shirt. But I love the dude. I absolutely love the dude. All right. We'll try the gamer and you want to put everything back down. He wants to be a family man. And he's been in there you you don't read about him in the papers. You don't read about him out there doing Crazy stuff, Steven Crab legs or anything like that. He has been a game where he's been a dude that entire time and being an ex baseball guy. I relate it back to the trout. When we When we start talking about championships. Sure, I was never gonna windjammer ship. Is my crowd's gonna be in Hall of fame. You're damn right he is. Okay. Well, thank you, Travis. We're taking us all around the world, even down the coast to Los Angeles to talk about trout appreciate you for calling up more again. Let's SPEAKING of California. Let's go to Bakersfield. Armando is on the line. Armando you on CBS Sports Radio. Do you believe that? This guy Phil Rivers is a Hall of Famer? Thank you for taking my call. Um, I'm just gonna give you yesterday. No. Yes, I'm the fat wise. Noah's individual accomplishment. Uh, they're not one of this that they're not aren't the stats? Individual accomplishments will? Yes, But as in like an award like it in the individual like an M v. P maybe on after M v P Um, he has a Bronco friends. I got to see him twice a year, right? And I just believe that he was on the field. Maybe because The coach is that we're always expecting for him to do good eventually. They probably That's what I'm my opinion is that he was on the field most of the time because He will start off bad, but then he would end up good or vice versa. He will start bad, good and then in the bed, and I believe the coaches were just giving him maybe like your head stuff like Well, he's gonna turn it around her. He didn't come back better next year. Okay? I just got to see him twice a year all the time because I'm a Bronco friend and I would see him. But yeah, he's environment. Yeah, He was. P played so many games, but Like a said, like, maybe, like an All Star MVP, maybe in every picture in the year. Okay, so bottom line. He didn't Armando filled rivers didn't do enough for you. He didn't want an M v p So he ain't good enough for you. No, no, no, no. I believe Hall of Famer is a big big seat for somebody. Uh, for Philip Rivers. Okay. All right. It's too good for him. Thank you, Armando. Thank you for calling up from Bakersfield, California. He thinks that you know, Phil rivers. The fact that Phil Rivers didn't get an m v p and Phil Rivers, you know he No, I don't know. What do you want? Is only but so many MVPs out of going to go around. Only one guy wins the Super Bowl every year. It's not like Phil Rivers. Just accumulated stats. Year to year. He was one of the best quarterbacks. This guy was slang, innit? He did go to a pro Bowls. It was a season he was a passing yards leader. It was a year he was the touchdown leader. Let's not act like he was just around and just put up numbers. Here He was. He was good. Now is he In the whole of good? He's in the Hall of Fame. That's where it gets tricky. He was calling up from Houston. You you are C b s sports radio..

"Shaking from Berkeley. Kruger. Tom told her with you. I'm gonna be joined by Howard back to tackle MBA Rod Gilmore. We'll talk a little national championship game and Drew Amanda, our buddy drew wall. Get us ready for the start. Of any until season, which will be Tomorrow. I'm gonna just take right Gilmore's place right now and just say Never a chance, Never a chance. Thank you, Tom for your expert analysis. Biggest talent mismanaged we've ever seen on the national championship State fellows with go, yo. You know, so I walked into the house. And I said to Christopher Said, Hey, how's game looking? Because game had been on for? I don't know a few plays and he's like, not good Alabama's way better. I should stop. He goes in trace sermons out for the game. I said watch. Come on the game. Just get the clock. It was only like seven minutes after kickoff. And sure enough, he was right. Alabama had no chance and trace sermon was gone. Like how Alabama had a decided advantage. When it came to speed and offensive schematics. You put those two things together in today's college football. You got yourself a jug or not? That's what these guys are right now. They just have that I've never seen a A game with two of the females or two of the three big boys. That one team look like a JV team. Never seen that before. Clemson beat Alabama worse two years ago, but that didn't that didn't see just seem like the kind of a fluky maybe not fluky and the fact clumsy and beat him but fluke in the score the turnovers and they just had some stuff happened. Last year. Ls she was better, but comes in was in it. I mean, kind of your like me. They're not really but maybe a turnover they could get back in this thing. How has take me like four turnovers in there? In the second half when you're talking about it, a team That just wrecked Clubs in And you felt like even if 14 14 like they needed that turnover so badly like you just felt like you're going to score with time They get it. So, Ohio say it's gonna have to score every time they get it. I don't know if ever watched a game with two of the elite early programs and thought this team has no chance. They just don't have it. I mean, when you say no chance. What you're saying is they're gonna need some really weird stuff to happen. In this game for them tow tow win this game, and that's the way I felt even like that's it, even a 14 4 downs like the things over you know what Ohio State needed last night they needed a torrential downpour. Even the playing field. They needed. They needed something that could take away Alabama's advantage when it came to speed and something that could, um Help them create turnovers. And that's what rain will do. They were never going to get that. And it was never gonna happen. It just just there was never gonna happen and to watch it happen. Alabama lost their best player. The Heisman Trophy winner at the half who record in the first half wrecked red radio host in the history of the team. They didn't skip a beat. They didn't skip a beat. Jalen Waddle came in, and he was hobbling around. Maybe we'll get to that later. The Whether he should've came back in that game or not. But he came back in. He's hobbling and didn't matter. Still cannibals. Yeah. Yeah, Now's your hair is set out of what a couple three Syria's in the second half, and it didn't matter And then when Alabama needed defensive plays Bar more shows up. You know, I was here. He was trying to thought that Patrick Sartain one time that didn't work They never threw at his way again. But finding Shawn, wait and coverage or they had no problem which I didn't find that guy running right at him and right by the state of Alabama to test positive for covert at halftime, that was only shot. Shawn Way was just horrible, horrible again. And you know, he's my goodness. I and somebody's going to draft him and go and try to dress him up like, Oh, he's good, and he's not Don't fall for us. He played. He ran. Like about what? 60% speed on that one play across the where you had to cover Smith from the city. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, because he was worried about getting picked worried about running into His own guy. I mean, it's Listen, Wait, I think cost themselves of draft position last night and our manager Harris made himself some money and he's gonna probably my estimation end up going. In the first round, probably higher in the first round. Then we would have thought, you know when talking about Harris is prospects going into this season or actually, as the season went on, But if I'm Sean Wade I'm saying the Ohio State coaches Let me have Devante Smith one on one. Let me let me have that challenge. I'm the best corner out here. I'm the best defender on this team. Let me had a challenge. One on one never happened. And then they just they decide to go zone on these guys. Devante Smith just running through that zone. Alabama had advantage at speed. And he had an advantage. When it came to Hollywood. Allen plays Steve Sarkeesian never had a chance to know quite you need no chance. If you have a pro, you know, I had a buddy who coached in the pros and then coached in college, he said. Once you coach in the pros You have a huge, distinct advantage going back to college because we break the letter Charlie Weis nationally. Yeah, but he said, we break the game down on a level that college coaches don't and we're on. We're looking at Maura intricacies than they are. On bits. Just a matter of how much of your program can you can you coach can you get across to the players, But I was I was amazed by Devante Smith, Man. I mean, he was He reminds me a lot of Stefan Diggs. He's just He just runs a great route. He's faster than than the stopwatch says he's got long arms. It's got unbelievable hand eye coordination, and how about that flex in the second half were in the Heisman. Face cover. I mean, that's you know, the only question for me guys, that is, Would you rather have last year's L s U team or this year's Bama team, which is the better team. I'd probably lean a little bit towards Ellis you, but I'm partial to some of their guys. I don't think there's a wrong answer. Quite frankly, I will say this people saying Well, what would happen if the 19 yellow shoe team played? This Alabama team where, you know they basically had that game. In Tuscaloosa last year. L s u won 46 41. If my memory serves me present Incredible gambit was basically the same players. So how the Mack Jones is quite a bit better this year than he was so nice. Yeah, he's better. The Alabama players headed you two grew up. There were better, but we're still that wasn't a South Alabama team last year and I noticed now saying, but The closest we're going to get to this hypothetical scenario who would win between last year's L S U team and this year's Alabama team, the closest we're going to get to be able to make.

Tom's Journey With Drugs and AA

"My name is Tom. And I'm an addict and that's probably one of the things that I want to address. I is that Komo always a little bit hesitant to speak at an AA meeting. Because I don't have a drinking history that is going to be very involved but It was almost exclusively drugs for me. And and I apologize if that because of that. You can't relate or anything like you know anything like that but So I grew up in a small town in South Alabama about ten thousand people and Aw so pretty normal You know elementary school and you know L. High School and like I always had a girlfriend all through elementary school and really I did all through high school but along about puberty are so I began to realize my attraction attraction to other boys men so when in my town the when you leave six excreted you go straight to so in and I was just terrified of this Going to high school because in the seventh grade you have have all grades. I had seniors in my physical education class. When I was in in in high school I was in the seventh grade and the rumor was that the seventh graders are all going to have their pants ripped off and run up the flagpole and so that was a fear to however soon I began to enjoy physical education as you know it was a chance for me to peer at other boys and everything and I was kind of realizing that what I was hoping it was was a phase and but you know I didn't know anything anything about it or anything like that so you know I was hoping that it might go away one day and that everybody you know maybe everybody goes through a phase like this? Yes but it didn't go away and of course you know I've I've always joked that in in my town like being gay would be You know akin to or or let me put put it this way. I always used to say that the Guy who robbed the liquor store and shot the clerk would be more respected than a gay person. I'm in my town so you know. Of course I I kept that all client and you know whether this can you know this will come up because it hasn't I I. My story has a lot to do with my story with drugs has a lot to do with sex so in college college. I smokes marijuana in my freshman year. But it didn't get off but finally I I kind of came out in the summer of my junior between my junior and senior year in college and you know had sex for the first time and STARTED GOING TO ATLANTA. I went to school at Auburn. Which is in Alabama and it's about two hours from Atlanta so I started going to Atlanta a lot and so I would like go to Atlanta on Friday night state state of the bars closed and then come back to football game on Saturday then go back to Atlanta on Saturday night has stayed in the bars? Close rolling down windows and doing all kinds of things to to keep myself awake while I was doing all that driving. But so you know I was given pot and so in my my senior year I got off on pot and I you know I had been drinking and I noticed like all during my fraternity parties parties and all that other guys seem to get a lot more fun out of it than I did because I would get you know when I got to where I could feel it I would enjoy it for about an hour or so and then I get really hungry and I'd WanNa eat then I wanna go to sleep. And then the next day it was always always a at least a twenty four hour recovery for me. There was no question how about after I had been drunk. Was I going to go to this class the next day or anything like that. I was praying to the porcelain goddess the entire day so when I discovered pod that was like oh now I've got something that I can do at parties but immediately my friends changed and this was back in like nineteen seventy three seventy four and so you know it was Kinda like it would be kind of like you know so okay okay. I became a person that you're cool. If you smoke pod you know you kinda like would say hey eighties Mojo year. I smoke all this kind of stuff and so would I am I band and my other friends and so I was. I was in. ROTC in college and So I immediately went into the airforce right after college. I was a pretty big whoop empty. Do in ROTC and college. I was like the Cadet Commander of Air Force Army Navy Navy. ROTC for this big presentation celebration and all this kind of stuff. Even though I had begun smoking pot and hitting the gay bars ars on the weekends and so when I got into the air force I was going to go. I was in in pilot training and so you know while I was flying these planes with an instructor all that kind of stuff. I thought this is not going to be very good. pot-smoking job so I was thinking I began to think about. Okay now. What do I want to do? You know that would be a good pot-smoking job and so and immediately by the way when I started smoking pot I never expected as much from me after that. My my whole self esteem or what. I thought that I might become all of that was never was never the same name so I was thinking pop truck driver. That would be a good pot-smoking job especially since I seem to have to have a joint everywhere. I went in the car. You know which is ridiculous so Douglas. Maybe you can identify with with that. I mean you know because it's just you know it's dangerous for that too but but it seemed like like a good idea at the time so I eliminated myself from pilot training and became an administrative officer and so but the night before I started pilot training. I need to go back. That was used to go. I was stationed in Selma Alabama Emma all places and used to go to Atlanta on the weekends and so I was at this guy who let me stay at his house when I would go to Atlanta and he was having a party and he gave me there was a little bit of powder on the end of a knife and he you gave it to me just swallow. And so that was when I first discovered met and we never. We never mentioned the word meth back. Then we always called Krystal a nice a nice sounding word and so I thought and an identified like. Here's the point where identify a lot with people whose drug of choice is alcohol. Because immediately I thought where has this. I've been all my life. I know what's wrong with me. This must be how normal people feel and so I was you you know I felt better looking. I was a better conversationalist I had deep conversations that night with people that I couldn't stand And and You know I just thought this was you know I've said this before that. So what's wrong with me is I've been suffering from a meth deficiency Z. Crystal deficiency and so. I thought that that was the answer. And of course it turned on me. I got caught during the Air Force in the Air Force with a with a test. Urine urine test best. They called it operation golden flow so I got caught and I lied my way out. You know they. The Command base commander called me and he said like there were there. Were two positives in the test and Lieutenant Sawyer. One of them was yours and I go mine why he said well. You tested positive for him. Fatemi so I go amphetamine for me. What could that be you know and I said Oh I was in Vancouver? I was stationed in Upper Washington state. Right on the Canadian border. I said well I was was in Vancouver the last week and I was going to go skiing the next day and a guy gave me this diet this diet. Take this and you won't be tired tired. And so and I said I thought a diet pill which is something you could buy. I didn't know that it was anything wrong with that. Just lying through my teeth the whole time know exactly what it was but so I had to pee for a month in the you know. Oh every every week for a month and but I did get my self out of that but even you know during that during during that month I was thinking all kinds of ways. Like how could I scheme to Be Able to do some crystal and not get caught in the urinalysis Ossis but so after I got out of the Air Force I went back went to graduate school and I I was only there a couple of quarters and then I I dropped Out and I I moved to Atlanta. which is where my disease really took
