"Did did you find yourself thinking back i. I'll win will move off of a divorce. Don't my talking about. I don't really talk about it that much. This is this is kind of riffing okay. Good yeah Did you find yourself thinking back on your on your parents divorce and seeing any like any kind of parallels and he kind of like you know thinking about what they went through when it happened and i think two things. I think the fact that i didn't have children in some ways might made it easier right. Because i i wasn't so worried about how is gonna affect other other people right. I was mainly just how it's gonna affect me and my partner. Yeah but i think the thing that i. I hope that i internalized from my parents was that i just really wanted to be kind. Like never wanted to fight about it. I didn't want to be cruel. I worked really hard to be as kind as i could. You know people get so angry when they're going through something like this and a lot of the anger in specific are serious with you and furious at themselves in sophea people say and do things that they don't mean and i just really tried to just not just tried to be like this someone that you're with for half of your life no matter what happens after this person is going to be after your parents. Probably the most influential person on you To to date. And i don't i did not see the fact that i was married for twenty four years and then i got into this as a mistake or a failure like i did it. Man twenty five years is a long time to do anything and and it was wonderful and then things changed and so for me. Just the thing. I took from them was. I just wanted to be as high as i possibly could. You my to my ex to myself and to realize that like people were going to say anything they didn't mean and to not you know what happens is someone says or does something and then and then at the nets revenge time all of a sudden.

"Through okay so being observed. That's a good one after whose necks erica's erica. If you're nervous what do you do to get through to go past that nervousness. Okay you don't think about it. You sit there like a not on the law okay. So that's that's personality. She withdrawal summer working on that but she makes it through. She gets more comfortable as she goes alone. She stays quiet and correct. So you just get capable. Okay that's a personnel is is different so she just sits there in the midst of okay so important point that she just made. She said that when she gets home she's not nervous anymore. So that could mean that when you're in a nervous situation what you might do is say okay. This situation is not always last. I'll be home in a couple of hours. And i'll be comfortable then so you just take on and embrace the uncomfortable make it through and they get to a comfortable place and come home a decompress and relax see you said that. That's what you say over. She said we went to decide the second stage. She said that all right eri kion. I need you us. You have had your opportunity eric. If you're a nervous situation what do you do to to calm down to not be so nervous. First of all nervous of this okay. I'm dressing difference asthma. Certainly because something's happening in the way we deal with in nobody knew as beyond my friends. Okay so you find a way to fit into the environment you find a way to mesh yourself into uncomfortable by talking to other people were. That's what you just said but you just say you find somebody to talk to somebody so to get up so that you're not so uncomfortable you talk to somebody you communicate and that gets you out of your nervous me uncomfortable because now you're in the environment and you're like okay. I'm going to embrace this environment. I'm going to embrace new people. And i'm gonna talk to these people even. I don't know even though i'm nervous that's what you just said. Yes and that's okay. Yes but your way of overcoming nervousness is just being apart and embracing the nervousness and being apart. Because guess what. You're nervous of other people are nervous too but when you break is why teaches do icebreakers to get rid of the nervousness. So you're like you're doing your anymore. Okay great so kind of what it is. You're doing your own. Icebreaker said a teacher facilitating or saying. Hey we're going to iceberg. I'd be in the class. You've done icebreaker while you're at recess or while you're waiting around you've already established done icebreaker or recess whatever every do before hush hush erica whatever. Y'all do before you actually go to class so when you uncomfortable environment you go ahead and you do your own personal icebreaker with people. Instead of having somebody else facilitated you know how to facilitate your own great. Yeah that's what you say you need. What your book. Anyways go ahead. Tell us what you do when you're in the midst of some nervousness. What i'm blessed here. Okay so you say how do you make it through. How do you make it. Oh i do effigy remind okay so you you know which is not good eric. We're novitiate sake. It's just the sound that makes it. Okay so the sound you popping. Your knuckles is harmful to you. Okay so i just want you to understand that in every situation you not going to walk around and pop your knuckles. It's going to be inappropriate and everything so you perhaps figure out something. That's not such a distraction because if you're in class and you probably your knuckles your teachers probably they'll say popping of the knuckles like explode. Do plinking leg okay. So you have okay so sometimes that does is you releasing nervous energy so you have an energy on inside nervous and you feel fidgety. So you're actually doing something physical to try to get rid of that nervousness. That's she say. Anyway yes kion question last comment last plus yes can't missed m. i. b. s. t. I said why you're in the midst of so when you're in the midst of something that means you're part of it so if i say right now you're in the midst of six of your siblings and your mother and hero the doll. That means that you're in the environment that you're in the place of you're in the midst of yes you're in the presence of where all together you're in the midst of us here in the midst of home. So that's what that means. Being the marta us we got so we talked a lot. About what over kotte overcome nervousness. We got a lot of good dogs a lot of good ideas. Good conversation this conversation right anything else. I'll put my great. We'll talk about eight nervous energy. Great we got that. So guess what great. We got good information. We know what to do if we get nervous. We learned from each other how to get past the nervousness. We can take on some of these ideas using for day to day right right all right. "The goat in the garden of all the people in sofia's life she loved her husband and daughter the most but of all the things in sofia's life she loved her vegetable garden the most. Hello my perky little peppers. My ravishing radishes. My beautiful beans. How are you my lovely lettuces. Perhaps you'd like a sprinkling of water before the sun comes up. Sofia grew enough vegetables in her garden to keep her family. Well fed with just enough vegetables. Leftover forsythias been simon to sell at the market every morning. Whilst afia was making breakfast daughter. Olivia would venture out to the garden and pick vegetables for that night's dinner then she'd go on her way to school but one morning while visiting the garden. Olivia saw something that made her chump. She tossed her empty basket high in the air as she scurried back to her mother. Who was flipping pancakes in the kitchen. Olivia you weren't even outside for two minutes. Did you already pick all the vegetables for. Oh my goodness you're white as a ghost. What happened trembling. Olivia pointed toward the kitchen window. Look for yourself. So fi appeared out the window toward where a live you was pointing there in the middle of the garden was the biggest hairiest billy goat sophia had ever seen. The goat was trampling all over the ground. Gobbling up everything vegetables. Why don't we going to do mama. Sophea pursed her lips and furrowed her brow. Then she stood up as tall as she could put her hands on her hips. I tell you what we're going to do. I'm going to march out there right now. And make that. Billy goat go away so sophia strut outside and approached the billy goat. She noticed his mouth was full of turnips. Good morning billy goat. What a fine breakfast. You're enjoying but listen young. You're strong and you can find food anywhere else anywhere so please get out of my garden. The goat glared over at sophia and began to speak. Don't you know who i am. I am the billy goat from the hills in mountains. So you'll get out then. He whipped his head around charged towards sofia. He's warns all set. Sophia ran back to the house as fast as she could live. You open the door door. The billy goat is after me. Puffing and panting sophia dropped onto a kitchen chair. Olivia lay a on her. Mother's quaking shoulder. Don't worry mother maybe. We just need to explain a few things to him. I will go out there. And i will make that billy goat go away. So olivia made her way outside and approached the billy goat. She noticed he was now chomping on carrots. Good morning billy goat. What a delicious breakfast you're having but you have to understand. My mother spends hours tilling the soil planting the seeds pulling the weeds. So please please get out of her garden. Just as he did with sophia. The billy goat glared at a livia and began to speak. Don't you know who i am. I am the billy goat from the hills and mountains. So so you'll get out then. He reared his legs up in the air and bowed his head and horns. Ready to charge. Elitist sprinted back to the house as fast as she goethe's after me and she to tumbled inside the kitchen just then her father. Simon came downstairs for breakfast. Before heading out to market he noticed his wife. Puffing and panting and his daughter on the verge of tears my darlings. My love what's wrong. has something happened. A livia was too distraught to answer. So sophia spoke up. She pointed shaky finger toward the window. Look for yourself. Simon gazed out the window and spied the billy goat by now. The goat was covered pulp and seeds as he tore into sofia's bright orange pumpkins. don't you worry my darlings. Maybe he just needs some sympathy. I will go out there. And i will make that. Billy goat go away. So simon marched outside and approached the billy goat. The goat looked up from his smashed pumpkins. Good morning billy goat or it's no wonder you're enjoying such a hearty breakfast. You must work really hard all that. billy goading. You do all day but my family. We work hard to and we need these vegetables. So please get out of the garden now. The billy goat glared at simon. Then yes he began to speak. Don't you know who i am. I am the billy goat from the hills and mountains. So so you'll get out. The billy goat reared up his legs and sculpt back down again sending up a cloud of dirt and pumpkin seeds signs. Scamper back to the house as fast as his legs curium. Olivia open the door. Simon staggered into the kitchen. His heart thumping million beats a minute. Sorry my love. I couldn't get the billy goat to leave now. All the pumpkins are gone and the carrots. Sophia glanced outside and ono. Everything else indeed. By this time the billy goat had ravaged the entire garden. In fact it looks less like vegetable garden now and more like vegetable soup. Olivia side now. We'll have nothing to eat nothing to sell and all have to start the whole garden over from scratch but even then who's to say the billy goat won't return from the hills and mountains again just then sophia. Simon and livia heard a small voice. Call out to them. I'll make sure that. Billy goat never comes back. I'll just need something in return. Who do you think is speaking to sofia enter family. And what do you think. She wants in. Return for getting rid of the goat. We'll find out what happens after quick break. Welcome back to circle round. I'm rebecca sheer our story. Today is called the goat in the garden when we left off a big hairy billy. Goat was munching up every bit of sofia's beloved garden so fiu tried making him go away her daughter olivia tried making him go away and her husband. Simon tried making him go away but each time they did. They heard this. Don't you know who i am. I am the billy goat from the hills and mountains. So you'll get out. The family was huddled in their small kitchen worrying about what they would do when suddenly they heard a voice a small mysterious voice offering to rid them of their problem in exchange for something sophia. Olivia and simon began glancing around the room. Hello who are you and where are you. We're interested in your offer. Can you tell us a out. Suddenly simon felt a little sting on his left ear. He began shaking his head and as he did down.

"That is a good. I love it. I really like it. And i absolutely agree. I think every time and opportunity has gone side with is always used to be something else bigger and better. Had 'cause i love using simple and this is Is there anything any other. Juicy hips cheeks decided. Okay i'll give you one more. I know i have. I have a three o'clock to someone have to get off almost. Yeah okay raum. Another juicy tip is really. Take time for yourself. I i really do believe you need to have boundaries as an entrepreneur as as the parent of course so. I've gotten very strict with the way i plan my day Obviously a process to get to that place. Well but make sure you have put boundaries around time and i know a lot of us will burn the midnight oil. They'll stay up late at night to finish things once in a while. That's fine but you know the sleep. It's been a help with your creativity. And i really do truly believed that. Entrepreneurship is a marriage between creativity and science. So if you're not creative you will not be able to come up with good solutions when you hit obstacles and if you're not scientific when it comes to looking at the numbers and calculating what's working and you know making those great Educated guesses if you can't do those things because you're not eating while you're not sleeping. Well you know exercising. Then you're gonna burn out and your business gonna fail so you are the number one driver. You're the pilot of that of that. Aircraft the what of captain of the ship and if you fall asleep at the wheel and you're you're gonna crash. Oh that's that's another success. I'm really i sleep well eat well. I used to exercise well before covid. I have no excuse. I should be exercising. So we're still in lockdown. So i don't know how airland is right now but then candidate we're still in a little bit of a lockdown so yes you are okay. So aren't pandemic. Yeah i know. But i absolutely i think you are. You are the captain of the ship and really. If you don't know if you if you fall down you know unconscious than she was just going to go from shipwreck crusher. Ever wherever as it's going to go. And i think enterpreneurs we forget that we did driver. We forget that we are so busy trying to create. That is another really really good team. They own personal development. That is if you look after yourself. You really can't look after anything else or anyone else. Even your teammates. So i'm i'm. I'm glad you sure that it's something that comes up over and over and over why it doesn't go away it's just just because you've heard it it doesn't mean it's real it's real yeah and as enterpreneurs we have this mindset very thinking. And i'm sure audience enterpreneurs audience have gotten a lot of tips tricks. Value that they can act upon so that are able to bootstrap their businesses in become. "Let's start today's culinary edition of travel. With rick steves for the sampling of bulgaria's lively food traditions. That's one country where you definitely want to be invited over when he was going to be a feast as a crossroads of dynasties for centuries gary is one of the oldest tenure in it is a proud cuisine based on all of these cultures that have come and gone it. Mir's it's complex demographic makeup end it's fascinating history. You can learn about people through their museums and art and you can also learn about a culture through its kitchen and right. now we're going to is. We're joined by stefan motza jeff and we're gonna talk about book garin cuisine seven. Thanks for joining us. Thank you for having me here. Ick stephan how does bulgaria's history and it's complex ethnic makeup show itself in your cuisine. It's interesting question because we have always been. At across of civilizations turks greeks mediterranean culture slavic culture and all of these different cultures they reflect in our cuisine. And this is the reason why. Our cuisines has many specifics. Okay so you're gonna take me out to dinner and we're going to demonstrate that. What are some dishes that would illustrate the many different invasions that bulgaria has endured the first and most traditional dishes actually liquid. It's our alcoholic beverage. Here rakiya we start every meal with rakiya typically made of grapes or other fruits while we're waiting for ourselves to come. We hear foley. Our first sakir finished your drink the rookie through the meal. Exactly okay. So the first course would be solid kind of salad may have the most traditional one East coat subsc. Sarut literally means a solid from subscribe region this region our capital cities software. So around sophea. But i find that every meal all across bulgaria the beloved chops ca salad. Yes it's like our traditional south in every single restaurant from the obscure the most upscale restaurants to those in the remote villages. This is a must on the menu. If you are familiar with the greek salads. It'll be something close tomatoes cucumbers onions peppers. The best peppers are not the robust but roasted peppers roasted peppers s and on the top. You put some cheese. Typically countries couches. Yes and increase it a slab cheese. Yes is a slab of jason here. We grated cheese. Stefan when you eat the very best shops ca salad. You've been eating at all your life in connecticut. This is really good. Why is it really good. really good. What distinguishes a chops salad. I this is the cheese. The cheese chase is important and the other thing the peppers. they must be roasted in some restaurants. They don't want to work quite much in the kitchen. So they're all but roasted peppers and cheese. I've catcher this is travel with rick steves. You're talking stephan. Both jeb about garin cuisine. Okay you've had your salad. What comes next after salad. It came to the main course. Our main course. Of course a lot of grilled and barbecued meats kickboxing or give up is means meet crooked and meet bo grilled meat balls so these are minced meat or meat balls stuck on long stick. No no no long six. No no. they're just like pure meet. Maha put on the grill and then put on your plate. What kind of spices. Oh all kinds of spices. Actually the spices that we use of course a lot of parsley a lot of do savory. These are very traditional spices and on top of that. We have one very traditional shot in a soul this mixture of different herbs. This is a sauce. It's not a sauce. It is sort salt. Yeah it's okay. Bold colorful sought and different herbs. So red paprika sage savory everything put together and we dip our breath insight and we just enjoy. That sounds very good. Do you have an influence of greece. Greece's a big culture and and a lot of ways. You have the similar environment in your cuisine. What sort of greek flavor would you find for sure. One of the most traditional meals that bulgarians belief. It is bulgarian. It is the moussaka sexually coming from our southern neighbours from from the greeks but here in our version we add just minced meat and potatoes. We don't at zucchini or eggplant inside. No potatoes mainly towards the potatoes and and the minced meat in greece. Of course they have a lot of these appetizers. You have this way of serving people family style plates yes. It is also very popular in bulgaria. The missouri style intellectually is the same word that we use for that. We have different. Appetizers some Cheese some dry sausages and also different dips. Now i'm remembering some beautiful cold soup kind of a vegetable called supporters that this is called the the atar. It is very traditional bulgarian soup during the summer. It consists of yogurt chopped cucumbers garlic. Do walnuts and a few drops of olive oil on the top sound just beautiful. Yes and it saves us during the hot summer days because it can be quite hot in the summer. Yes that's very possible. You talked about the Grilled peppers in the shop salad. But also i remember when i go to a restaurant. There's a lot of stuffed peppers as part of the main course. Yes stuffed peppers. This could be on the menu of every bulgarian family very traditional one. The most traditional one is to have stuffed pepper with rice and minced meat but also on the other hand we have a stuffed peppers with what which is of course and these are very delicious. "The final sixteen. So that could be a good matchup if they're together. As get down to the final theme, there's we get down to the final sixteen for the men's side. Now, let's move over to the women's side. You know I, Love Women's tennis. So this is a special time of the year for me I. Don't know why I love women's tennis more than men's but I do. Maybe, that's because the man. Yes it's true. I had the thing in my makeup caught dispatch. Something I talked about by the way my third episode story taking the data out to the game, which you can also find on the bus route network in should give it a listen to. All right that'll be my last fight, but I had to throw that in there. Okay. So this year's women's US Open. What feature the biggest name of a Mall Ashley Barty in also my personal fever Kiki Burton's as they're sitting out due to the virus. However, there are still big names in tournaments and the biggest is the biggest line of the mall and she is the Queen of the jungle in that is Serena Williams. Serena is in quest of her twenty fourth grand. Slam titled Which is Second Only Tomorrow report. that. Elusive number twenty four has been hard for Serena and now that she's a Mama, it appears to be harder and harder and meet even be slipping away. This could very well be her last chance of making a serious bid for a grand slam title especially without top ranked players like Barney and how. They're all sitting out. So this could be a shock for arena. Get in seeking get that elusive number twenty four. Currently Serena has made it to the Rams Sixteen and has a tough match-up today against Sikora, the car is the younger Greece player with excellent mobility and strong discipline with many or few unforced. There's. So, this'll be a good test for Serena if she can move onto the round of me. I. So let's talk about one of my favorite players to watch in this tournament is America's Sweetheart Sophia can. Many, know that. She is being descent and defected to America in now big name on the circuit. Plus she won the last Grand Slam in last few. Australia Open. The thing I love best about Sophia is her. They match to a t the shoes, the skirt that hats, the headbands, and yes even the under were that's right. Her underwear for Sophea hasn't hasn't yet to allow for shrinkage on her outfits is they continuously seem to get shorter and shorter, and if you get close enough to the TV, you concede her underwear, it's a perfect match. Okay enough of all the crazy antics I have when it comes to talking about women's tennis and we are coming towards the end of the show. But as I mentioned, I was going to make my us tennis open predictions So for now, let's start with the mid side, and in this case, we have to go with a heavy favourite. Normally when I make predictions, I look for teams or players that are on the rise instead of the heavy favorite. But in this case to joke is too strong. It's a shame on fritter aren't here to play but I think the jokers going to rack up another Grand Slam win. On the women's side and is much is I like to see Serena get that number twenty, four Grand Slam I think you and speed will. Therefore. I'm going with Sophia can so feel seems to have the best ability to continuously come back in overcome her or opponents much like asking bardy with Sophia gets down, she turns up and play in has the ability to overcome and very few forced. There's a strong baseline game. I look for Sofia Kenyan to outdo the pack in be our next US Open winner. Okay that's the end of the show I want to. Thank everybody for listening and keep out. Keep up her keep your eye out for more talk radio episodes starting next week, you're going to hear the show three times a week. As we move towards the football season. So if you like the show telephone, so we can grow the arms in have a good day..

NWSL Nation - Challenge Cup Week 1 Review

"Soccer's back soccer's back like we've watched it. We've seen it's. Forty minutes worth of it. Those the they fly by five hundred minutes fly by really yeah, especially when they're broken down in segments good. I'm glad they took my advice on that because I know the original plan was every match one after the continuously? Yeah, the the ninety ninety minute was was controversial, but I'm glad they went with it. You know it's every now and again I have good ideas. Any any who Mike. We have lots to talk about as we record. This are six matches into the Challenge Cup tournament. Every team is have Janssen play. What's four teams have played twice us, or we're going to dig into. These gives quick reactions and have look forward to to the next up around imagine by kicking off the. Match on CBS. Half a million people tuned in to watch North Carolina Courage Portland Mozart. Most watched. Time incredible and it'd be so much of all time. It was a higher view than a few EPL matches. That happened that day. It was a all cases a pretty strong success of course Mike I know. If you had your druthers, things, soccer wise would have done. A little courage defeated Portland thorns two to one. This thing was scoreless. Seventy five minutes in for Denia scored off of Haley Mace Cross Italy trying to watch so much soccer in the last couple of days, trying to like the July's all the goals correctly of course, Charlotte equalizing in the eightieth minute Lynn Will Williams putting North Carolina ahead in. In stoppage, time I'm just going to cut right over to you. First Match Back Challenge Cup immediate reactions. This was incredible and I say this is the thorns fan heard about the loss, but this was a fantastic match. You know you've got a big rivalry between the courage and the thorns lot of history there, we didn't know what it would look like with. You know such a long hiatus structure to the preseason, but it didn't disappoint new look lot of new faces for the thorns, but I think they exceeded a lot of expectations, goalkeeper bill, bixby and her and wwl debut had some phenomenal saves against you know. Courage onslaught, tons set pieces good work in the midfield by Lindsay Horon Rocky Rodriguez. The courage didn't quite look like the courage that we're used to. It wasn't quite the smooth billed from the back fast pace attack that we've come to know one love that being said they found a way to to make it happen, and their crosses into the box were lethal, and that's got the job done for them. Yeah I think a theme because we're obviously talking about the courage again toward the end of this I, think team on sing with North Carolina. They're known for their depth. They're known for their cardio. They're known for their technical skill level. And obviously just having a deep deep deep roster, topics, players, and it just always seems to come down to the same two or three people. With things close out I mean you're talking about a phenomenal group of talented players. The end the day comes down to Denia and. Then Williams. It's interesting. It really isn't ensemble and I. I think I think they did great work, but but you're right. It came down to that, and you know Lynn Williams's well on her way to. Showing up SAM curve the for the Golden Boot of the tournament at least. Yeah I at this point I'm. Talking about we're talking three goals at two games, it's you know it's obviously phenomenal performance on her independence looking well. Haley Haley Mason Samuel Ev looks really strong on the distribution end I think that they look pretty locked in there I think I'm Portland's, and it's hard to say there weren't too many heavy. This isn't necessarily the case where I think you're looking t better, dead or a lot of ways i. feel like Portland made a handful of mistakes that led them to give up two late goals True and one thing you have to say for Portland to not only are they coming in with a largely new team They've gotten hit. Pretty hard by the injury bug. You know we had eighty franch this out of the tournament. number one draft Sophea Smith didn't play. We don't know when we're going to see her. So we saw a lot of new faces, and they still put up a good fight. No, absolutely I actually one thing. I really came to Portland After this match, they were one of the most. It was one of the most sound defensive performances we'd seen across all the matches. We watch so far like I said I just think this. This was a case where the courage were able to take their strengths finder blemish where they could fit something in They're just phenomenally talented. When it comes to responding to cross well laser accuracy with that, you know finding people and bill each something that the bread butter, too, and they were able to connect it right the right time toward the end of the match I. They knew that they're conditioning. Just with depth of their roster helped them a lot which makes their most recent match all the more interesting overall i. Definitely felt like a good showing on both ends in, and really was a tough break. This is definitely it really would have benefited Portland to get points here and yeah. Yeah stoppage it was e can't get more dramatic, so it was. It lived up. Tech speculations

A Roadtrip Through Bulgaria

"Let's talk about a road trip through Bulgaria. I'd like to welcome to the show. Tom and Patty Burkett. Who are coming to us from Ohio but come to talk to us about Bulgaria? Tom Common Patty welcome to the show. Thank you hi there. And what is your connection Bulgaria. Well I have a cousin who's in the. US Foreign Service listen. He's posted in Bulgaria currently and is married to a Bulgarian woman and we decided to celebrate our fortieth wedding anniversary that we would like to do a trip that that was a bit more exotic than we usually do and that since we had a connection there in Bulgaria and had heard on your show that Bulgaria it is a country that is more like your might have been several decades ago that it would be an interesting place to visit and we discovered that that was absolutely true. And I think that feeds into my next question which is why should someone go to Bulgaria. Well interestingly we got that question lot from all of our friends and family I have. I'm not surprised and actually also from many Bulgarians who said why. Why did you come here? I think one of the really exciting exciting things about Bulgaria. It's on the crossroads of history. The Turkish empire the Roman Empire Communism. And so it's an absolutely fascinating location. You're interested in the development of culture. I'd add two things to that. I that we started out the trip by spending a couple of three days in Munich and Budapest and Vienna and we were amazed at the difference in tourist fatigue between those cities and our visit in Bulgaria and Bulgaria. We were the interesting interesting thing that was happening to them. Rather than the other way around some people in small towns would go out of their way to call somebody up and say. Hey they're Americans here. Come look at. Oh that's hilarious. Excellent well kind of I recommend for us. We spent more than three weeks driving around the country and we prefer to avoid for the most part areas that are highly touristed and we recommend starting in Velika turnover which is the old capital of Bulgaria and driving through the country to the Black Sea coast and spending a bit of time. There are and then driving on mush more southerly route and ending up in Plovdiv and taking some day trips from Bo Velika Tore Novo and plugged it. Okay excellent well. Let's start that immortal. You started in. You flew into Sophia and we did about. He has a good story about arriving there. And and the surly alphabet renew knew ahead of time that we might not find people who could speak English. So you're prepared for that and we knew of course that the CYRILLIC alphabet was different and we had done a little. Oh studying before we went pretty hard to get it in your brain so we got there pretty fatigued after flying. Think we had to take two flights to get there anyways as we got in. We had to rent a car. We're getting to our AIRBNB about dusk. And all of a sudden it hit us as we were trying to park our car and we could not read anything on any street signs except every one of them had a tow truck on the bottom so we finally sort award of figured out that thinks said things like well nineteen hundred eight. Am sounds like maybe you can park your overnight and so we punt with some of that and that we did have to say had a moment where we between our fatigue and trying to park this car in the country we were really unfamiliar with. We looked at each other and wondered if we'd bitten off more than we could chew but we actually ended up within an hour of that finding a friendly face at a restaurant and spoken Galician relation. Who helped clarify that? We had actually interpreted the sign correctly and we found US bought park. It was good to park at until later. Eight thirty the following following morning and the following morning we got down about fifteen minutes before the deadline expired to discover that someone had parked behind us and the car even in such a way that we couldn't possibly get it out so we're standing there wondering exactly what we should do about that in a woman got out of a nearby. You're by car that she was parking and pointed at the sign. As if to say you shouldn't park here after eight thirty and we were thinking that boy we would like to be able to get out of there if we could. Fortunately maybe someone was looking from a nearby window and who was not partisan and came back and moved it so he could get out. Welcome to Bulgaria exactly and this was in Sophea and we drove out so-fi later that day and we're not sad to see it in the Rear Review Mirror for at least a few days. Excellent will you start at us then in Velika turnover yes Adele. Novo is the first capital a Bulgarian. And it's a beautiful city. And there's a large fortress there that sits up on a hill and it has a sound and light light show that operates most nights of the year. I occasionally. It's not working but there's music and narration and the city is situated on several hill. Also we were on a hill that faced the castle so from the balcony of our apartment. We were able to watch the light show at night. We couldn't hear the narration but we could the music and we could watch the lights. Change of the fortress walls light up and the castle keep light up and it was very matic and an interesting to seem all in Bulgarian. Rian internal Danny's okay set off by the moon and the stars. It was romantic and fascinating and we were able to stay in a an apartment apartment. That was just along the craftsperson street there in Velika Tore Novo shops. The ones that weren't restaurants or little grocery stores were operated by artisans who were wood carvers and icon painters and potters and they all were all there practicing their craft. We could walk down the street read and visit with them and see the things that they were working on. It was really delightful. The street was over Hong with umbrellas so at night they had those lint it and it was very romantic as well. I'M GONNA guess you're talking about the some of SCA car Shia the Complex well in Velika turnover. I would say that was that was an ideal location. Because it's a very hilly city so you're able to do a lot of up and down hill walking. That was the place for her to be at your central location because we can walk to those vendors and then there are other places in the city we could drive to but we felt that that was a great location to be centered in. And were you finding out through Airbnb or through some local site. Or how does your apartment on AIRBNB. Yep We did use AIRBNB and we did USA local connections for some of the lodgings we stayed and when we were there as well but not that one that was airbnb like we found the AIRBNB. Were we had good luck with them. The the quality of them were described accurately. It was a little bit more rustic of somebody's a high end traveler. These were not that okay. It was what we were looking for. We were in somebody's home. We had our own area of the home with their own patio but was not a luxury but it put us right where we wanted to be

"Thanksgiving Day marks the beginning of the holiday season. We are getting into the most truthful part of the year. That's why this is the perfect topic for this episode Thanksgiving which created when the pilgrims wanted to celebrate their first harvest in new. Did you know this happened in October? Of Sixteen twenty one instead of November since nineteen forty two has been proclaimed by the US Congress as being on the fourth Thursday in November the basic elements of the holiday celebrating food in the fall harvest and giving things with family have remained over time. Another fun fact about this day beyond the United States are nine countries. That also celebrate Thanksgiving Canada China Germany Granada Japan Norfolk Island South Korea Liberia and Vietnam. Some of those parties are versions of the American tradition and others are celebrations of gratitude for something else. Not even the dates are the same. The Canadian thanksgiving is held on the second Monday in October. End In China. Who follows different calendar? It happens around in the Fifteenth Day of the eighth month. In the lunar calendar the holiday known as The mid Autumn Festival typically falls in late September or early. October and the moon is full list and brightest. You know what I'm thinking for so many things that it would take me more than ten episodes to name them all one of the things. I'm most for their than my family. And my friends are my accomplishments through these years. I've accomplished so many things. One of the most recent once was going three goals. In One Game Aka a Hattrick. Those were Julie from Texas. Gabriel from Brazil in Daniela's lives here in Florida. An interesting thing is that they all mentioned choice. This is something we take for granted. We're not everybody's lucky enough to have something to play with. Do you recognize the sound? Yes this is a Turkey gobbling. I couldn't leave the symbol of the holiday out today. Do you believe that there was no turning the first Thanksgiving dinner? You might be asking yourself if it wasn't under the table in sixteen twenty one. Why did it become the mascot dish? One possible explanation is that there was an abundance of Turkey's in the US and they were mostly raised only for the meat while cows and hence would also produce milk eggs on top of that. A single Turkey was usually big enough to feed a whole family. Wow we have a few more audience from our listeners. Let's check them out for for my family. My saying the things I have to make a hug. Starting Jerry Greenberg from the TSE alliance of Chicago a chair and grandmother of Sofia, high Sophea and Derek. What up did Derek, remember you, buddy? You look great. Thanks. Good talk. All right. Good. And Mindy is here as well. Mindy also was with let me Jerry, what does TSE to briskly roses complex is a rare disease genetic disorder, and you get benign tumors throughout the body on your skin, your brain, your lungs kidney, and it's a strong genetic link to autism and epilepsy. So many people who have TSE also have epilepsy and not as them. And the last thing I'll say about that is it is also connected to other diseases. So research also impacts diabetes cancer because of the growth. So it's a very complicated reaching. It is far-reaching good word and Mindy live with us do. When were you diagnosed I was diagnosed when I was six months old, those headphones too loud. You look like you're scaring yourself. Take them off of their body. You don't even need him. All right. So you are held, I'm sorry. I was six months old when I was diagnosed tended today know what they know now did not okay back. They didn't even know what Jean caused SC, they just knew by symptom. So this just purely symptomatic that they knew that I had TSE impacted your life. You know what? It's, it's definitely maybe who I am today. I will tell you that it has. It's had its ups and downs security for me. I'm not I am. We'll say I'm not as severely affected when it comes to certain things that is complex about this disease, but it has affected me. Effected me as a child with the seizures, whereas I always had seizures, and for while they were they were controlled by medicine. But then, as I got older, they were consistency Hafid far more frequently the seizure for more prevalent, a medicine was less effective. Exactly. And then it gets basically when twenty one medicine chide others that have followed it. They all pretty much are gonna free act. The same way off, right? The body lay certain meds and becomes used to that exactly immune to try something else. Pharmacologic crapshoot level, right? It's just fantastic. I appreciate good day. You know it is a good day. Really? Always say now I do have more good days than bad days, just because my the treatment that I'm currently on to target my kidneys, which I have NGO my plumas of the kidneys, which is part of the condition of TSE, and it keeps them from growing, and it keeps them stable and hopefully over time it will also help to shrink them and Finchley, they'll dissipate and Jerry, when we hear a discussion of benign in a sentence, we think. Well, that's good news. But if there's a tremendous amount of these, they can do, great damage, right? Absolutely. But benign means not malignant. Yeah. They can it depends how where they are in how they grow like, Derek actually has tubers the gross in his brain, but they're not growing and they Monnet. That's why people TSA are constantly monitored xrays. All right. To the microphone get your face right in your high, buddy. Good your hold. Oh nine. So what were you like eight when I say? Yeah. About a year. I'm pretty good at math. Don't you think? Yeah, pretty impressive. What's night, third grit yet? And, or are you going to be in going into fourth grade? Is that the deal, I'm going to fourth grade yet? What do you want to be when you grow baseball player position? I base first base zone you play now. No. We're in AAA, we rotate. I'll tell you what they recall, the White Sox right now. I don't know if you're white sector cubs guy, but we may call you up today. He's ready to go. I think so. I think so. And so you're the big SIS. Lina that might kill and how old are you? Eleven years old. I bet you're good big SIS. Moms giving me a thumbs up from back there. How about you, what do you want to be when you grow up? I know that answer. Okay. Oh, really? In the movie business. What's your favorite movie of all time, the girl, greatest shown great? You know, I know Hugh Jackman a little bit. Yeah. I'm gonna tell them you said, hi. But it's nice to meet all you guys. So let me get back to you for a second mini where does this go from here? We got to walk coming up trying to raise it much research, die, many research dollars as possible. But if somebody deals with this every day, what are you looking for looking for people to bring more awareness to the condition because even though there's other conditions out there, that, that people know more about such as a OS TSE is actually more common in people than AOL less at saw, not as well known. So the idea out there to get people to come out in to take part in the educated on this particular complex conditions. So we're able to reach out and find cures for TSE because, you know, when you leave TSE is a Lynch pin disease, Lynch pin, meaning that when you do studies and research to try and find a cure for this condition, you are actually contribute. To finding cures for other conditions. That's a great point. So, and so that is domino falls over. And so we just want really people to take take that into consideration to come out to be educated to really any know what it's about a community about people coming together joining together unifying for great. 'cause that eventually will help with other conditions out there. You make a great point thought about it. But with all the various ways Jerry, this touches people, you could find cures for things while you're on the way to figure this out. Absolutely. And I think Mendis point is so well taken that people need to come to the Zoloft, and people want to help and they don't know what they can do so that things they can do is come to the walk donate spread awareness. If every person today, that was listening to you. Steve Wigzell, one other person that they learned about a new disease. Impediment till ten. Yeah. I think. Yeah. Ten be better events, going to take place rain or shine a Colonel high school, one o'clock, karma Parkway Monday line. And that is again, one week from Saturday on the twenty second you're going to be in a look. Doing the lock overnight. But normally I bet you're pretty good big set. Not that you're not a big good can keep an eye on a little brother help take care of them. Good for you. Lies air Derek? You'll be walk. Yes, I will. I've a sense that you'll run part of the walk is that what's going to happen? You get a little bored. Just take off running. Yeah. Good. I normally do so you do. Yeah. Guess I'm guessing. You got a great family. And I know it's not fun to deal with what you're dealing with. But you look great buddy. You really do. Thanks, Trump's, like you have a pretty good time baseball. I am cubs. White sex. Cub. Yeah. Okay. Well, we may need socks. I who's your favorite come. It was Jake area but it's Darvish now Darvish your pitcher. How about you many? Yeah. You pick your favorite Cup. All right website. You want to go to the lions dot org. And when you are there after you look around and learn what you need to learn. You can also click on step forward or I think it says, find a walk and our walk is in Monday line on June twenty second, and I'd like to thank you, Steve for this opportunity. Of course, spread awareness. Heavy to do it. And it doesn't just have to be once a year, so things come up. Please let me know. Yeah. Well, there you go. And tomorrow, you never know about these things been. In the meantime, I think your point mini about L S is really important, too, because every disease, unfortunately, needs a publicist and the Morgan talk about this condition the better. Exactly. And you know, there's so much out there nowadays that we could do, just in technology in the health industry that money costs money. But, you know, when we when we all come together. I will say knowledge is a powerful thing. It end. The more we make it known. TSE known. The more were able to get more people involved in, you know what the more people will want to be involved in the more that will be able to contribute to find a cure in contribute not to send a financial way. But also in a way, where energy energy, positive, energy, sir. Step forward to cure the.

"And so the oath doesn't shape the behavior of somebody who is inclined to violate it, it reinforces the notions that many of us bring to that arena and because we take publicly and because we care lot about what the community. I don't just mean our colleagues, but the defense bar in the court. Right. And, and you know, and and others with whom we work because we care deeply about our reputations in that professional environment. We tend to abide it. I don't think the oath will ever take a lawbreaker and make them into a law biter. Right. So one of the paradoxes of the oath is that you wouldn't and shouldn't trust in a position that requires the oath anybody for whom you would actually rely on. They're open as opposed to their character to deliver the result. It is not in and of itself, sufficient, and I am Agean when I read your book that you will probably make arguments along that line. I wanna ask you a question that you've been asking your guests, which is or variant of it, which is tell me about the time that in your professional life. You kind of look back and said, okay, here's what the situation, I arguably calls on me to do, but I swore this oath and therefore you know, not that yet again, I don't know that it was ever quite that stark. I don't know that I ever had to go into my office shut the door. Pull out a copy of the oath and re read it to remind myself of what my obligation was again. I think the people drawn to that type of work as not just lawn force, but again, to be clear and many walks of life and many pub. Capacity's, it is simply the starting point for career of service to abide by the rules, and the norms and the ethos of the place that you inhabit. I don't think I ever said to myself, what would my oath require? I may have said to myself, what does the law require? What would my colleagues expect what's the right thing to do here? But that's all in, in the end then grounded in the oath, I took. So what are the plans for the podcast in the future? Is it a discrete series that's going to end when it ends or you planning to continue it? So MSNBC NBC very gracious. Gave me a full season of ten episodes. We are close to finishing all ten after that we will see I think so far, so good. But I don't want to suppose I know what they want me to do next. And you know, this is true. I'm like. Incredibly grateful that they trusted me with this, even if it turns out to be nothing more than one season. Ten episodes thought that was pretty cool. And also lets me talk to people as we said at the beginning of this podcast. I really like the night trust that I admire and talk to them, about stuff outside of the daily news cycle often the stuff that makes them interesting in the daily news cycle. That's right. I'm in, I think Jim comb is a really interesting guy, I think Andy McCabe talks eloquently about his first office assignment as a special agent in New York, I think, Preet is incredibly eloquent when he talks about difficult cases in the southern district of New York, and how they debated them internally and how in the end they had a make decision. Go one way or the other Lisa, Monaco, has one of the most interesting careers in federal government. She worked in all three branches and all of that helped inform her judgment when. She ended up as President Barack Obama's homeland security advisor. They are frankly, interesting people, and it's a privilege to get to talk to them. It's privileged to talk to you, Chuck. Thanks so much for coming in. And thanks for doing this Ben. I appreciate it. It's a law firm, a really cool thing that you got going. And I am an avid reader and listener, appreciate it. "I find a book by the political theorist William Connolly at Johns Hopkins really insightful his book, it's a very short book. It's called aspirational fascism. When I find interesting about it is it takes seriously. The fact that look we haven't had yet fascist consequences in American politics. But it's a mistake. Not to look at the aspirated side of what Trump tries to do. Do. And so if there is a theory behind him, it's not when he's are titular needed. But it really does resemble that, and I don't think that that's your e I hope that that's the reason not going to cat- catch on. But it certainly is whether it catches on or not corrosive to American politics. And so I think that the Trump legacy isn't isn't going to be a good one. "I I heard somebody Novi have concept as edge computing now, which will help competing to get more power. But let's it out that goes by then this is something which is booming next. We have is blockchain. In fact, Toby honest, last November was the first time I heard about blockchain I was not knowing about it. I don't know. But I was not knowing about it a lot of people who are into currencies. They were knowing about blockchain, but I was not into it. So it was not my main focus, but the women are learned about blockchain basics. Then I understood the part of it after that itself in in December January January two thousand eighteen I got so many calls from different companies in specially for banks they wanted to implement blockchain. They were they were doing some peo- sees. So the idea behind blockchain is be want to create some database, which will be immutable, and no one should be able to change the cards. In fact, the just happening with the banks nowadays and the government officials. They can change the Dida example, it's the corruption. Government officials have the power to change it. Same goes for an Bank cards. Anyone can hack Bank records. We don't want that. If the record is there. No, one should change it, and that's where blockchain and conflict of pitcher. So a lot of banks nowadays they are move. Thing from than normal database to blocked ended up his. So next year really booming again, a lot of companies, they are they want obnoxious professionals. So in fact, my that is my thing now. So I'm going to blockchain the next one is a which is audible intelligence, it's not new again people talking about this last last decade. But don't it. Thank is air is moored about a concept than the actual implementation. Yes. Things are changing now. Thanks to machine learning. In fact, if you heard about Sophea, we have intelligent machine now, which can the place jobs Salat of the does which is which was happening is getting replaced by a are now. In fact, there's onset known as rpm, which is what causes automation. So all the way to job boring jobs has been placed by this officer in general, we can say in fact example, if I if I if you send me a male, and if I'm not available for that male to do not normal. Reply. I can send you as I am not available. Now, I will reply as soon as I come back to work, but that's one of lying. What if I went to custom customize it what if I want to make it more Maria, so depend upon from from where I'm getting the emails. What is the Email content? I can reply in that way. So when I say, I it's not me. But my assistant that something you can do with machine learning something which is happening. Now, it's not which is coming. But it's happening. Everything happened to eighty now. So Google is g mail is optimized now g mail acts as a mode of AI. I don't know how many people quite that feature by then g mail acts like a air now. Now, we have we have Google home. You can use those things which are basically. So even if you don't know how to use how to play a song on your chip, just cool. Just connect your Google home. You can ask home. Hey, I want to this indomitable a music. That's it. Google home will get to go will do everything for you. So that's machine learning next one is big data again as I mentioned is not something new, but NFL last few years big is booming allot because every company they want to track their customers they want to track the activities like Google Facebook. They are tracking everything not just this companies all becoming is. In fact, viper say companies all every company wants to know their customers. They want to keep records. They want to keep the cards about that their transactions they company transactions and everything would be stored in some. Huge database, and that's what we have a big data. So yeah, that's that's the that's the technologies which we had in this those in two thousand eighteen well, thank you for giving that really like thorough recap. Really? Appreciate it in all those. I'm sure those are all technologies that the audience has heard in one way or another..

"Visit my Lola dot com and entered daddy. When you subscribe. Yeah. Again, guys, we're we're supporting this because yes girls, we need to keep our Shing lean need to keep our shit water base and enough with all these fucking chemicals that are giving us the good old bacterial infection because like you said Sophea, then you're out of commission. So many caring about you. You don't want your girl fucking out of commission early a thousand percent. Okay. So a lot of girls have been asking us. I mean, actually guys two guys are actually pretty up there too. About deleting pictures with your ex on Instagram. Yes. And it's like the girl actually one of the girls gave me three options that she wanted to know, which we would choose. She said number one, should I just keep all the pictures and just like embrace it too. Should I delete them or three? Should I? Keep them and just change the captions, Alex. No, I think we both agree you, delete them all delete them, all delete it. I know a lot of you guys are like, but it was like a huge part of my life were still on good terms. No one gives a shit keeping our Facebook. Right. If you're fucking shit on Facebook. Nobody wants to sit on your memories or a good time. Not this is the thing guys and girls, listen up if you are keeping pictures of your acts on Instagram the minute the opposite sex goes to your profile. There's one thing there's two things they see and they see you with a potential ex or current one. They could potentially think you're like a slime as cheater and you're just like trying to DM them, and you have an actual girlfriend or boyfriend. So that's number one. And number two. They could look at it. And know, it's your ex but be like, okay. So there clearly so not over that person to lead that showed Alie I would like make that assumption too. And the girl mentioned that she would just change the caption like, what are you gonna change the caption? Like my long lost cousin. Good old good looking into mind, stepbrothers half, others, sometimes stick my tongue down. No. I also think you, and I always talk about it. Like, you go to guys profile, and if you see him even with someone that like, look like go friend, even if it is his sister. If he doesn't like straight up say, this is my sister. I'm like, I honestly leave the pay done. Good bye Dadi gang. Officially everyone is clearing out the pictures of their acts like we said, you can keep that shit in your camera will keep it on Facebook. But it's gotta go. Oh, we have to address face tune. We talked about face. Tune last episode. If you listen up, so go listen face. Tune issue is we addressed in our pasta episode that we condone face. Tune and photo shopping for the ladies ops, Lutely, make your shit Lecue. But there is a line that needs to be drawn. When you look literally like a. Circle of smudge and just to is mouth. We're not trying to put women down what we were trying to. We're trying to help you guys out because guys noticed this shit when you go too far with it. So we had people write in and be like totally I have that one friend that face tunes. Too much. People are asking held buck. Do I tell her that she's doing it too much? And I want to say that I understand girls are very sensitive. And so it's hard to go up to your girlfriend and be like, hey, like you faced in the shit out of this thing. I know that's not your faith. I feel like I could do that with my friends. Yeah. I would straight up tell you, Alex. But you you and I walk out of a room. Like what the fuck that?.

"I was having the worst day of my life, usually I'm like down to Chit chat. Whatever not was. Yeah. Well, so I guess we we could quickly recap. Christmas because we didn't get to talk about it on our last episode Christmas was super fun. I'm going to leave my family out of this one just to like, let them sleep one extra night this year. They don't need to hear me talk about the gun on the podcast now. But you and I did a little gift exchange did Alex. Fellner this website. And I like wanna post the lean and it literally is titled like shady gifts or like gifts to get shady people. So naturally Sophian I r- sitting at our apartment where like click fuck yet. First of all, if you tell them what you got me because it's brilliant. Okay. It's basically if you're shady motherfucker these are perfect gifts. I got Alex double screen protector for her phone. It is like an inch thick, and it makes it so that like you cannot see what is happening on that person's phone unless you have like literally special three d glosses on her. How fucking extra literally I have an extra phone on top of my phone as a screen protector. So when people are looking at my phone with the fuck is going on make you need the glasses today. It's to the point where like only you can barely read your own. It's so dark. I am going to. Get away with so much more shit this year. No one no one can look over your shoulder, and like try and see any any nothing, then I return the favor as a great fucking friend. And I got so FIA Sophea has had some issues in the past with ex-boyfriends finding shit through her computer. Like we talk about catching guys with the ipad. You're basically dude guys catch with your computer? So what I got so feel is a lock for her, computer. And it's not just any normal law. I got so FIA basically fucking bike law this thing. So explain them. How? Okay. Guys, you guys we all have a password on not enough to me that no one gets into it. This lock is like a bike lock. It's like this thick material that you wrap around your left off like fifty times, and then it locks with like, a lock, this is my poem. What the fuck legit of bike love that you rap. And honestly, that's so just you could leave your laptop anyway, anywhere. Like when you're at the airport. I wanna run to the restroom, and I don't wanna leave. Oh, it's going to steal a laptop. That's fucking security book. No, right. We are locked and loaded. Our New Year's resolution is become shadier cheat. More be sketch or ruin men's live without getting caught. Okay. So about the cheating. You guys come on. We have no people keep writing in and be like they condone cheating. Shut up. I also think a lot of girls were writing in this past year. And like my boyfriend never pays attention to me when he's playing fortnight. This is what Sophian I have to say to that. You're going to start the new year off with a God damn bang, and it's going to include your goddamn vibrator, and obviously you're going to use it on yourself. But I don't mean that what I mean is girls, obviously, the vibe or any us on your sorry to go in and out of your pussy without shit. But there's another reason you can use it what you're gonna do guys is if he's playing for it night. He's not paying attention to you. You're gonna take your goddamn vibrator. You're going to get the USB or that used to charge that shit and instead of charging into the wall you're going to stick the USB cord into his goddamn XBox? So when he goes to turn on fortnight, he can see your pretty pink vibrator chilling getting ready for us. I am. I know I condone this so much because how many times have you been in that situation where guys completely fucking? Oh my God. And it's like the four nine I'm like, how can you play do literally the mini? He goes to pick up controller, and you're going to go in you're going to pick up your your vibrator, and you'll make you have fun..
