Rolling Stones Drop ‘Scarlet,’ Previously Unreleased 1974 Track Featuring Jimmy Page (Listen)
"The Stones rolled out details their upcoming goat's head soup box set earlier this past month, But the most exciting elements for their fans was a previously unreleased song. According with Jimmy Page that you're listening to year called Scarlet sets not coming out to a September the fourth. But this week, the band released the highly anticipated track. Song was cut in October in 1974 with Keith Richards, Jimmy Page, both handling guitar duties and traffics Rick Gretch on the base. Pete says. My recollection is that we walked in at the end of a Zeppelin session. They were just leaving and we were booked in next and I believe that Jimi decided to stay. We weren't actually cutting. It is a track was basically just a demo was to get the feel of it, but it came out well over the line up like that. You know, we better be using it. 1975 page told Rolling Stone that Rolling Stone magazine that he thought the track was supposed to be a B side of a stones record. It sounded very similar style and mood to those blonde on blonde tracks. Jimmy said. He was great. Really good. We stayed up all night when down Island Studios where Keith put some reggae guitars over one section. I just put some solos on it. It was eight in the morning and next day before he was able to do that. I remember first, jamming this song with Jimmy and Keith in Ronnie's basement student, Jang said his great session. A new edition of Goat's head soup also features previously unreleased tracks Criss cross and all the rage along with the rare demos and a complete concert, taped at a gig in Belgium in 1973. Stones originally planned on touring American football Stadium this year, But certainly that gonna happen this year anyway. During the down time, they've released a new song called Living in a Ghost Town. The first original songs. He's 2012. So the stones are at it. Interesting, Jimmy Page story. Never heard this one before. No, I like the song though. It's very Yeah, I kind of did, too. Yes, I didn't know if I love seeing old documentaries. We've been watching a lot of stuff about Laurel Canyon and like Ringo was actually really good friends with Mickey Dolenz, the drummer for the Monkeys, which was always a joke that the monkeys were created to be like the American beetles. And so it's it's I like seeing who was actually friends with whom and to see that I never knew Jimmy Page in the Stones ever had any crossover and the fact that he played on the song is really cool. Jimmy Page lives in a house across the street from Murray Gellar's old house in Sonny. And apparently, he's quite noisy in the neighbourhood,

"Today. We're taking a look at a quotes from Benjamin Lefty Ruggiero. Ruggiero was a notorious thug and is thought to have murdered twenty six people during his thirty years working for the New York via with reputation as a loyal soldier for the banana family. It's hardly shocking. That he wants said a little violence never heard anyone. This catchy Zinger is attributed to reject Rogelio in the memoirs of former FBI agent. Joseph pistone. Who spent time in deep cover with the mafia hosing as a jewel thief named Donnie Brasco? Pistone had convinced Ribero to bring him into the banana crime family. Soon after they met in the early nineteen seventy s. Ruggieri's relationship with the man he knew as Donnie BRASCO began to blur the lines. Between professional and personal to lefty Rasco was a close friend. And protege someone. He could pass on his wealth of racketeering experience to Roscoe run the bookmaking business and he often dined at rose home with his family. In the Mafia the divide between friend and colleague is inherently muddy to bring a new member into the family is to vouch for them by opening the door to the banana organization. Lefty had staked his life on brass goes loyalty. Which means that if things went sideways both of their lives would be forfeit. A career spent dealing in these life and death. Absolutes may have walked reg- aero's comprehension of violence to him. Aggression was a form of currency something to be bonded and sold and as a racketeer. Bloodshed was a key part of the business model without the threat of violence. His Marx would have less incentive to open their wallets. Of course those threats had to have true weight behind them which is where. Aero's reputation came into play during his criminal career. He murdered twenty-six people either to serve his own interests or those of the people paying him when the occasion called for it he reached for his two pistols one for each hand. Earning him his other nickname to guns. According to pistone regierung may have had a reputation as a killer but in his everyday life he didn't often resort to violence to him. It seemed bloodshed was a business transaction. And if that upset You well. That wasn't his problem. What was his problem was Donnie BRASCO agent? Stones initial assignment was a six month. Sting to gather information about truck hijacking but eventually it grew into almost five years of working undercover gathering Intel on Jero and his associates in the banana family when his superiors finally ordered an end to the operation. In July of Nineteen eighty-one they visited the head of the crew. Sonny black in person to tell him the truth about brass goes identity for the mistake of allowing an FBI agent to infiltrate the Mafia sonny black was murdered and had his hands cut off by his fellow mobsters. It was a fate that was meant to await lefty Jero as well but he was arrested and held in custody by the FBI for his own protection and for the protection of their undercover agent at reject rose trial prosecutors revealed that he had made a concerted effort to find and kill agent pistone wants his betrayal was revealed but he never got the chance. The evidence pistone had collected led to over one hundred convictions including Gyros ironically for a man whose business was governed by murder kindness to someone. He took a friend had been his undoing in the end regierung might not have seen the in little violence but he certainly felt the painful sting of betrayal.
Agriculture Department To Fix Disruptions In Nation's Food Supply Chain
"We've been questioning the US official trying to match the American food supply with food consumers. Visit almost any grocery store and you will see how that food chain has been disrupted. They're empty shelves. Even if food is in stores millions of newly unemployed people may have trouble paying agriculture secretary. Sonny Perdue has been talking up one part of the federal response. A plan to distribute food to families called the farmers to family food box program when after bar. Consumption is consumed outside the home. It's a dual track of production and processing for food service market versus the home consumer in grocery stores. So that commits a lineman. Would you have the shutdown? Very suddenly of institutional food settings such as restaurants schools colleges and others then that causes a misalignment in supply. And we've had the scrambled in order to try to readjust that in. This box is one of those things in which we tried to do so. It's a simple process. I guess the best analogy is. We're on a four lane interstate highway and two of those lanes become a blocked for flash or whatever reason we all can identify what happens after that. So you're trying to deal with this traffic jam because there's food that would have been going to a restaurant. Restaurant is closed. But somebody still wants to eat it. Do you get it into a grocery store into somebody's hands now. Why would a food box program for people who need assistance? Be The way to do that. This was a program that president trump asked me to put together three billion dollar program helping to re aligned and purchases food from bombers who were having to destroy that Good food because there's no market and create a really another market through our Nonprofits but at the same time you probably know there are advocates for the poor. Who think that there are simpler ways to do this? Why not just give people more money through? Snap the existing program to help people pay for food which is something that was done during the Great Recession. That may help one side of the equation. Steve does not help those farmers and producers who've grown food they cannot make the market because a supply chain they've been used to dealing with an institutional food market is no longer there obviously going to be advocates. Who always want to have more Money or more food available. We have been extremely flexible in any of these rules with snap benefits Food Service. The school feeding all those kinds of things. Usda is over backwards in order to provide flexibilities and all over the country you. I'm realizing your analogy with the highway is in some ways literal because we're talking about transporting food that had a particular route had a particular distributor and that system doesn't work and so it has to be moved by a different route and by different people. Are you confident you have chosen the right? Companies to create these distribution networks in some cases almost from scratch these are small and large food distributors. All over the country whose market is essentially disappear because their customers are shut down. We believe we have the best of the best obviously We're GONNA come to that list and see if we've missed we will go back and audit these firms to make sure they're doing exactly what they apply they do. Mister Secretary. Do you anticipate widespread food shortages in the coming months? And if so of what? No I don't see we track daily our plan openings. One of the challenges we add in protein meat poultry beef pork had been the closure of some of our processing plant there and We've had infections those plans that cause some temporary closures. Essentially all those plants are back open. We turn the corner and while some retailers are suggesting they may not have the degree of variety that they won't sad. We expect that to be cured very quickly. I do expect us to be back up to eighty five ninety percent reduction in probably a few days or week. What is the federal government doing to support companies that they've told under the Defense Production Act? They got to keep open. They gotTA keep producing meat but they have workers who are getting sick. What are they doing? Support the plant. What are they doing to take responsibility for the workers well first of all at uniform guidelines from CDC as well as Austria and worker safety people here recognized in the country be given the standard guidelines. We worked with local health authorities local elected officials as well as the company and the workers themselves to understand we provided equipment personal protective equipment. Say Shields Mask and other things into the plants there as well as testing where required to Hit the workers confidence. They're operating in a safe working environment. Secretary Perdue thanks for the time. Thank you have a good day sonny? Perdue is the US Secretary of Agriculture.

How Countries are Using Apps to Track the Coronavirus
"Governments worldwide involved in developing their own APPS TO CHUCK CORONA virus. Most of these rely on some source of tracking albeit anonymously but the speed and the lack of regulation surrounding. This new technology means that critics are accusing. Governments are creating surveillance networks. How will these be regulated? Howlett stand place. While I'm joined now by Josh Kohl's WHO's a researcher at the University of Oxford Internet Institute? Good morning to you josh. All the types of APPs being developed at state level. Well the main focus of the government's creasing opposite moment seems to be around this idea of tracking and tracing contact between potentially infected people Using the small things which go so many of us carry around in our pockets these days and that is potentially a really powerful tool But as you suggest it does raise a whole host of privacy and security concerns in addition to the Kiowa questions around how effective such can actually be an intensive actually developing ups. Shouldn't this be the work of big companies? I mean all we essentially saying government and tech swap places. It's it's a very interesting time. In in that respect it is a sense in which we may be seeing companies acting as protectors the Coleman goods in certain sentences at least in respect to creating Privacy protecting apps like apple and Google have recently done Working together on the F. Whereas government seemed to be taken quite a cavalier approach just here in the UK recent report suggests that the NHS is in a standoff with Apple and Google. Because they want the they used to have slightly more power Slightly less protect uses rights in order to try the disease as effectively as possible so we have seen a really interesting switching places. Where Tech as adult to this a perch of. Let's work together for the common good And then You know the other hand you governments who while you're doing it kind of Moose also break things. Although the reason for that. I'll pretty understandable. I mean it would have been unheard of but pre virus for for apple and Google to work together in this way. Wouldn't it? I think I think it would have been yeah. We certainly saw quite fist rivalry between the two companies which has now been temporarily set aside because we should stay too much the the differences between the two Sectors at the moment I mean one hand we have government sweating for obvious reasons to To try and spread of diseases quickest possible to protect people's lives and livelihoods and tech companies will oversee returned to that role as a Cheaply or into tools profit making Onc- crisis passes But it is interesting to compare the approaches to see how similar in some ways governments f. It's the moment of me for example. I mentioned effectiveness earlier around these contact. Tracing APPS experts. Think that at least you know. Folk upset maybe. Sixty eight percent of population needs to use the particular APP for it. Touched have any effectiveness and not kind of interestingly mirrors the the approach taken by tech companies in recent years to gaining market share in social networking. Can we see in a facebook and Google another battling it out for supremacy in that because they to realize that in peacetime if he will have the greatest? Sheriff people on the network is the most important thing so clearly some of the some of the techniques used governments. Now a quite similar to those used by tech Just a few years ago Philip. C V very different purposes. But of course all those companies are meant to abide by strict rules on security and privacy. We've seen so many rouser about facebook and an and other a big groups affected by this. These concerns seem to have fallen by the wayside somewhat during the crisis. Certainly as far as the government's concerned they do I think. Embarrassed countries As a state in quite a cavalier approach and And yes certainly. In the areas of privacy anonymity on consents They're all some serious. Chris being raised about various. Hsa Australia's got them for. Example is facing questions around. Its contact. Tracing out on whether it will be open unable available scrutiny by outside groups a particular danger As we think about government's role in this is that after the crisis Towards the end of the crisis these tools could be extremely. He's who for things like law enforcement and just as today we might be trying to trace contacts between people who have the disease tomorrow it might be trading of people suspected of crimes secluded as a A big incentive Or big importance associated with government setting out very clearly Not just How long these tools will be in use but also what the uses will be. I mean we know that China has made great strides and controlling the virus. But this kind of surveillance that you're describing been commonplace there for some time and I wonder about the relationship there between big tech and government. Can you in fact separate the two when you when you look at China? It's certainly much founded to do The the role that many of the Chinese big tech companies have in relation to the government is Sonny close as than it is in the West while it has quite a few counter examples. I mean South Korea which is a democracy has also been using a British Felli invasive to track it citizens as well The big the big ability for governments courses. I have a lot of sense of state to another typical administrative data which they could potentially use to link up to Contact TRACING APP so although the common standards being deployed for example by apple and Google at the moment seems to be designed to be. Decentralized PROTECT USES ANONYMITY. Economists actually know who it is who's infected at Atlema large-scale When you do Co. Cross-reference this database with existing debt. You have about people where they live and so on and it does create a really powerful penalties. Can you could call it a full ability to track citizens across the country so whatever reason and just quickly before we go josh. How far are we off developing something like that for here in Britain I think then it just for like three quite far along the way. Senator Government is keen to get up and running very quickly. There is a bit of a standoff right now. Between and all the government agencies and apple and Google This previously protecting standard which may in practice limit the effectiveness of the. Nhs's up. So I think it will be a few weeks until we really see how that plays practice in with a up legal willing to rank the restrictions on the stood out people to plug out. They want to deploy

"Sonny Sonny they're they're Geraldine. Why don't we go sit down or get you some tea? No I need to see him. I need to know know what Geraldine Sunny. Happen to you sunny. Can you tell me what happened to you? Do Oh dear. Come on now. Geraldine Geraldine had voiced. A thought several had begun to express. Sonny's death was undeniably strange. It came out of nowhere. Suicide seemed unlikely as he was making plans for his future and noted by all around him to be in good spirits. The overdose theory seem suspicious as well as the only drugs that had been found in the house after his death might well have been planted. There seemed to be a very real possibility that Sonny's death occurred via unnatural circumstances bought on January nineteenth nineteen seventy-one. The corner published his report. It is my conclusion from my findings. That Sonny Liston died of natural causes. A poor supply of oxygen to the heart led to congestive heart failure. Something perfectly reasonable for a man of his age. I also found traces of morphine and coding in his system. But not enough to have killed a man of his size thus they have no importance in determining the cause of his death. Police quickly wrapped up their investigation concluding that there was no foul play involved in. Sonny's death they issued a statement saying much and that because he was a known heroin addict his death was likely the unfortunate result of an overdose. But many of Sonny's friends had a problem with this. They claimed vehemently that Sonny was afraid of. Needles and this claim was substantiated. Not only by one or two people. But by a whole slew of the late boxers acquaintances. It was confirmed by his dentist. Who had trouble doing dental work on sunny because the boxer was too squeamish for administering anesthesia? It was confirmed by Sonny's friend. Dave Pearl the same Davey Pearl. He'd had breakfast with shortly before his death who knew him intimately. It was also confirmed by father. Edward Patrick Murphy. Who had known sunny for a good portion of his life and had performed his funeral service. But it was most tangibly confirmed by Sonny's former trainer Willie Reddish who said that Sonny had actually cancelled a planned tour of Africa to avoid getting the necessary. Vaccinations if Sonny was afraid of needles heroin would have been tough drug of choice for him. There are other ways of taking heroin. But in order for a dose to become lethal it would generally have to be taken intravenously. Sonny's friends were not convinced that sunny died of a heroin overdose and they certainly did not buy that. His death was from natural causes and they had good cause to think so. If sunny wasn't injecting heroin into his veins that rules out the possibility that his death was an overdose. Which meant that someone in Las Vegas new something? They weren't sharing something that suggested that Sonny liston death was really a murder..

"It's a time in a quiet place to start by answering some introspective questions and focusing on self awareness. What opportunities have I accepted bid? Fire me up. Am I taking anything or anyone for granted. What goals of I said? Am I achieving those goals. When did I last push the boundaries and step out of my comfort zone? Do I have control over my life or am I letting things stress me out that I don't control then allow yourself to zoom out dig a little deeper and tap into what matters most. How do I define success? What values I use music to me? And what experiences have made them so important. Are there any relationships that I want to repair improve. Where do I find my support? And have I express my gratitude to those supporters. What are three amazing achievements that I've had in the past year? There's an old saying that. Echoes Sonny's point about acknowledging the good and the bad the saying goes without rain or the chill of the wind. You can't appreciate the warmth of the Sun getting to the right answers takes time. But once you've taken account of the good and the bad you can determine what influenced your perceptions your core values and your circle of trust with Out The filter of bias. Which makes me think of the expression without rain? Nothing grows when I think about where authentic internal and external gratitude converge. I can't help but feel that one can't occur without the other. There's an interwoven. Reliance there if you're working to appreciate more of Your Life's journey you're going to naturally find people and things you'll feel a need to express gratitude toward and if you're taking the time to say thank you to others for their work the ways they make you feel deal or how they had your back you're going to end up. Fostering greater internal gratitude so it's circular in. Its own way what I find. Most amazing thing about these cycles of gratitude is how they naval our capacity to enrich the lives of others. I think this is because it's natural to want to share the positive feelings that stem stem from gratitude. It's as if when you feel appreciative. You WanNa share that feeling with others so you give what you can to enrich their lives and pay those. Those feelings forward Sonny briefly brought up the example of mentorship but there are countless ways. You can pay it forward. The great news is that there's really no wrong way to pay it forward. What matters is that your genuine and the way you want to give back and the action is kind and grounded in making a positive impact on the world that aligns closely with the Hebrew concept called to coon along which you can look forward to hearing more about.

have those kind of conservation and if you notice Chris and you say you've been listening for years now it's across the board it's from a dizzy absolute here appreciate it thank your arm suggestion for a for a bed Simmons thoughts on it you know I I feel like the coach is maybe a little too tidy armistice with his family or they're going to tell you so when you call the play for Ben and have them say you're a woman called plate political shot down your regarding your student so you're one of the things that plague in next time around if he doesn't make the shot or he doesn't take this out thank you well no no no I think the way that you would be able to handle that Chris is you would look at some of the place on the floor take video and then you break that video doubt see all the technology you have the day it is right that the down now this is where I've been saying this is going to get the job done the last home game then shot a fall away jumper shot from the foul line and I and I I loaded him after the game what he has to understand and the coaching staff S. understand is that that shot could come off of the second or third pass after goes inside otherwise let's say we thought about downstairs to Joe well the defense collapsed on him two guys come to him now Joe well kicks the ball out what's the defense going to do they're going to run at the first guy who kicked it out right sure send that person pass the ball to the next person now the defense is scrambling walk is run in Dale the the bin is in that spot or you may be on the next spot where the by that time the defense can't come all the way around and now he's standing there with a with a three point shot and that's way shot should come it's not happening now really don't don't yeah our level it hurts to say it because it's such a big fan of the team and your son could be on like a little bit with him beat yeah yeah okay I feel you went on you know what I would do Chris well I will do I will let him know they come home this week and I will let him know that the people like you went out this looking form to be able to step up more with that jump shot but notice what I say it has to come off a rotation okay that's the second and third past coming out me and you I needed a government okay thank you know right back at so called me again our love you have to let's go to our rob and Overbrook over over brook park good morning rob good morning so yeah you don't need a good man Hey listen I got a phone interview about the sex is that someone do that I'm almost done the liver disease I want to talk some knowledge first some real some real lot realized about it you know because sports is great but sometimes sports acts as a distraction keeps us from doing the things you really need to be doing in this world talk to me you know our I met doctor Solomon and nineteen seventy I went to I was going to I see on Jefferson street and technical courses there some classes Jefferson street when they first opened up I see that's on Jefferson street yeah that's how old police building yeah okay I'm on now I was I took some college classes there and you know it was all about trying to you know trying to find myself I was still in high school was erected by what the up your basketball the cat thanks very much but the reason why we would we don't have we won't we won't have men like doctor Solomon in you anymore you know like I was reading an article skews what you took me to another a couple you in the same sentence with doctor revenue Leon Sullivan I'll put your name the same certainly back began to because of the impact you have a lot of you start you know what I was reading an article by doctor king right before he was assassinated he was he was he was laying mentioning that perhaps integration was not the way to go yeah for the black community is touch because he said that we would bring education to a bright he lack of America to a burning house okay and America Asia we were entering a burning house and we were going to get burned we've gotten and and I am not races gotten burned as and braced the capitalistic society the system that that we now live in excited do you like the dominant culture the process of you know longer educate ourselves a lot no longer have to schools to educate ourselves integration as rob those and and and took in everything from us you're right they're wrong because what you're saying I've said many times but the other thing that did it took away our culture that's right you know what no one in America there's no ethnic group that did more for this country and love this country more so than the Negro the colored the African American on the black as we went up the ladder with each of those ways of expressing who we are we can go forward backwards you know because it's hard to be more like them yeah we forgot who we are so but the problem is that you're out Ron brown let me stop because people are listening let me give you one prime example one of the things that we did best this took care one another back in the day number give us born nineteen thirty six but I have Mister Johnson down the street wasn't doing well on Mr Dan Melva my grandfather Mandy and Terry would say to me Sonny bar take some of them being is down the street there are some of the pot whatever it may be greens or whatever we we were fortunate we had a phone most of my neighborhood which was not totally black when I move that awful Adelphia it was more white but didn't have phones so they would call my phone Redcliff I think was out on number I think back then well that's great sunny Radcliffe and they would say are I need to speak to miss someone so Mister so and so and we wish my grandma sits on the board but on the street look miss someone so no one whatever it may be that common you know use the phone what we did all those things how about Robben ho ho let me finish because I'm on a rant right now let me just finish Hey rob I'm from north Philadelphia baby I can't be nobody and I let nobody beat me I went through the gangs I went through this somewhat all over the country do you know rob at night time when I come home I'm scared book in the neighborhood who did that where did where did that to ourselves and we did that I'm because because I was reading the article about your account the criminals that run as city you know talk about Kennedy Jack we're going back on what I don't want to go on that level you keep that job no no no it just no no no I don't I don't want to get not only the bombing that because I I try to keep the balance okay but but getting back to allow something early we would you know we we we need to we don't have we won't have you know wait wait wait and when you're gone we will never see a like again the backing it up we don't have we don't have the determination we don't have the care for each other we we become so much unlike what we wear that made the things that made us quickness touch you don't have that anymore so whenever you're away we're trouble when trouble his money where we're going to be and I just I just indicated and you talked about the primary thing that we're in trouble for is the one that I'm always speaking about education X. right anytime you have in you an educated man rob so anytime you have about.

O. a dot com and you can send your questions and if they don't stop me I'll try to answer on the air but if I don't answer that I will use. it's too hard other when it bears myself on the radio I want to do that okay next I think we'll talk about this week is as you know as I mentioned we work primarily with the people who are retired or retiring soon and we believe that taking losses. is one of the most dangerous things that someone who's retired can experience and so what can cause you to experience losses well bear markets is one of the biggest things that can do that to you and so if you're invested in in the market so we want to we want to address that and we have I wrote a book called by hold and sell okay and in case you're wondering and in it I described the various myths that I think are associated with buy and hold which is the notion that you buy a diversified portfolio of quality investments and you re balance it and then your job done and you go to somewhere he said a hammock and you sent it to a new set of mint juleps okay and you're not well that's not the case and so by old myth number one in my view is the market always comes back so you don't have to worry about it just close your eyes don't don't think about it and it all take care of itself and everything will be fine so just by hold forever and I'm at the bank that one for you because I think that is one of the most dangerous mess of all of them and it's been sold to a lot of people it as if that I've seen so I want you not to fall for that one if I can help now you know what Jack most shows would stop right there most does say you know what if we did just that we've done more than our listening audience could possibly want from a financial show..
