We really do have the voices of MMA instead of just jesting a little bit with me. But I'm so glad you guys are here. I'm Jesus berkel, which is obviously I'm still in Vegas. You guys got back home. Finally, audience can actually get a breakdown of an Emma MMA fight, a UFC fight to be exact. By real experts, my guys that actually know the in and outs of the whole universe of this sport, not just the striking part. Let me start before I chuck it to you guys. Let me start by giving my backdrop of what I expected. And again, I worked the ESPN, which you guys over the weekend. What I expected going in to a fight where Mazda door was at three to one underdog. And full disclosure, full transparency is always because honesty is obviously important if you want an audience to pay attention to your weekend and week out. I picked Masvidal. I thought it was I told you getting a good number at three to one and I reminded myself that you should never go by the odds. Either the guy is better is not the odds should never influence you to say, I'm going to make a play over here. You know, because one of our sponsors is my bookie. So we try to give the audience some kind of idea. And then, of course, sometimes I think maybe the audience has a little too much money. So I give them my idea. So we can safely some of that off. For tax purposes, of course. But I'm not blaming it on the three to one that edged me that way. I actually thought that Masvidal being in a position, obviously he's coming off of that devastating loss. I thought that was legacy for his pride. And then listening forward pride and everything. And I'm not at all suggesting it. But I just thought that for redemption purposes that he would be at his best, if he could still be at his best at 37, quite frankly. And I thought that you have a chance to control the geography of the ring. Geography of the octagon of the gate. On the outside, not alone this great great wrestler, great grappler Covington, get to his legs, make this shoot. Maybe even do a little of that creative stuff that they were asking. Although big difference as good was not near the striker that Covington is. All right, I get it. But I thought maybe Covington would make a mistake. He could get on to, you know, go for a little bit of maybe a trap, get him to reach a little bit, catch him with an uppercut, catch him maybe with another fly and he like he did ask him, but the most important thing was I thought that he could get a playing field. He being mad for the, that allowed him to strike more than get taken down. And I thought that his ace in a hole is Trump called again. Was that he was very good at escaping takedowns. Or surviving takedowns. Any proved to be. The only thing he didn't escape them somewhat. She survived them. And I didn't register in how much energy it would take them out to survive. So again, I thought that it might get a playing field where he could use the chip, uses lights a little bit, control the outside, strike more than survive. And have a chance to pull it off. I was so wrong, and here's the question to open up to you guys. Was I wrong because Covington was on the rated as a strike that I shouldn't, I should have recognized how good a striker. Well, did I overrate? Masvidal. As a striker, I mean, what happened? You start with challenge and we'll go to Anthony. Okay, it gets a little bit tricky. If you were to assess Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal prior to the fight and you came to the conclusion that Mazda was the better of the tube fires. I think you came to the right conclusion. Mazel has more experience. He has a better understanding. We do martial arts a lot of times under a belt system. Mazda would be an absolute black belt and Colby would be closer to Brown in terms of knowledge and mastering certain techniques, but it's the intangibles, guys. It's the pace. It's the volume. Colby's not doing everything right, but boy, he's doing 6 to one. Georgia has won beautiful jab. He's cross blocking the shoulders, everything's right. Colby's throwing four of this big mess, but the best defense is a good offense. So when you talk about taking George off the field or taking his tools off, it wasn't just the wrestling. It was just Colby being in his face. Colby coming across ray Colby throwing things out of making George reactive. George just reacting. He's not coming forward. That's what Colby knows so well to everybody..

"First round. I think they're less sore. Okay. Yeah. So even though. Even though I was using anger as a way of getting out of sync. I was using anger as a way of getting out of something. Standing up for myself. Standing up for myself. Asserting myself. Asserting myself. Showing myself that I was powerful. Showing myself that I was powerful. I was in control. I was in control. I was doing something important. That I was doing something important. There's so many reasons why I got angry. There are so many reasons why got angry. Some of them are not obvious. Some of them are not obvious. So even though I feel that anger has its time and place even though I feel the anger has its time and place. And I think I'm in touch with my emotions. And I think I'm in touch with my emotions. I would still prefer to find an easier way I would still prefer to find an easier way. So I can transcend anger. So I can transcend anger. So I can read too much higher vibration. So I could reach a much higher vibration. We have more help to myself. And be a more help to myself. And to others. And to others. Without being so stressed and hated. Without being so stressed and angry. And I still choose. I still choose to eat the end completely. To deeply and completely. Love accept and forgive myself. Love and accept and forgive myself. And that's the choice. And that's the truth. Hey, you know what's the struggle for me is as I'm doing this because it's so hot in here. I find myself getting angry at myself for not opening the garage before we started this and then as you're saying the affirmations of reminding myself because you're saying to forgive yourself and to be easy on yourself and that it's okay. So there's a lot of stuff happening in the moment. I'm getting pissed because I'm dressed in sweat and this is so uncomfortable. Wow. Anyway. Well, okay, we're going to, it's actually that's really good because we're poking the bear. Yes, he poking the Korean bear. I said, yeah, for sure. Okay, so this round, so the first round we focus on all the negative parts. And in the ground, we do something similar to an affirmation. So we've grazed it in such a way that the critical thinking mind is not going to argue with it. Your mind is actually going to take it as the seeds being planted. And it will start building protein neural patterns. And so find your inner eyebrow and say, what have suddenly what if suddenly, I could enjoy this sweltering heat. I could enjoy the sweltering heat. I'm experiencing right now. Because every part of my body. Because every pore of my body is just expressing anger in a whole new way. Is expressing anger in a whole new way. And so what if suddenly now I moved my to the side of my eye Tapping? What if suddenly? All the sweat and heat that I'm experiencing. All the sweat and heat that I'm experiencing. It was actually me purging my anger. It was actually me purchasing my anger. Under the eye. Under the eye, and where suddenly I actually could enjoy it. I could actually enjoy it. I could enjoy the heat. I could enjoy the heat. So the next time I feel angry. So the next time I feel angry, I could find a different way of expressing it. Okay, find a different way of expressing it. And so what if suddenly? And so we've said me. Frustration and anger that I feel in any given situation. The frustration and anger I feel under any given situation. I instantly congrats on my shoulders. I can instantly relax my shoulders. I could breathe slower. I could breathe slower. And I could feel myself purging those emotions. I can feel myself purging those emotions. And so what up suddenly? And so what if suddenly? All the situations that I'm used to. All those situations that I'm used to. It always get me angry. That always give me angry. This didn't fit me as angry. Just didn't get me as angry. I found it almost the music. And I find it and found it almost amusing. The next time it happens. In the next time it happens to be pleasantly surprised. I choose to be pleasantly surprised. And how soon the idea? That how silly I feel. All of them. Tapping on my colleague. I see what I've said. And so what if suddenly all the normal triggers that always are looking at all the normal triggers that always make me angry? I just feel, oh, there I go. I just feel, oh, there I go. There's my anger moment. There's my anchor moment. And then I watch it disappear. And then I watch it dissipate. I don't ignore it. I don't ignore it. I don't carry it around on my shoulders. I don't carry it around on my shoulders. It was just to put it in. I just choose to put it down. I don't need to carry it with me. I don't need to carry it with me. I don't know why. I don't know why. But I know I can transcend it. But I know I can transcend it. Need to be and so what if Sonnen? And so what if suddenly instead of anger? Instead of anger. The help powerful. I felt powerful. They can actually let the universe do what it does, that's and I could actually let the universe do what it does best. I don't know how it operates. I don't know how it operates. "What's happening guys. Happy wednesday it. Thank you for joining another special episode of welcome. The disaster known as thriller is now complete. I've gotta give these guys. Credit in one regard is. This show was far less painful than the previous far less painful. I often all fit into a reasonable window of three hours. And i don't know where exactly that sat. But i know i'm close in three hours definitely on the long end. You want to get that right around that our twenty minute mark but it still wasn't seven hours like the previous disaster. They still forced you to watch something you didn't want to watch. A promoter will never ever not make the same mistake when he's doing the business which is to bring in other markets and other demographics and somehow going to help. If there was no music at all trailer would have saved a lot of money and they would have done the exact same number of ice. That's the part where they they have this wrong. If you're ever in a meeting i digress. But i'll leave you with one final. Thought if you're ever in a meeting and one of the guys on the marketing team uses the word synergy if he just says it if the word synergy comes out of his mouth thank him for his time and get a new marketing guy. Synergy is not real. Synergy does not work. Synergy is a theory. It is an ideology. There is no proven example anywhere in the world where you bring in from different markets to grow your own. It doesn't work that way. It sounds like a great idea. It will continue to be pitched people will continue to bring it to the table. They will continue to write books they to do lectures and seminars at colleges. It doesn't work if you're doing a boxing show boxing show but i still gotta give these guys credit. I mean it was short. It was not profanity laced. Disgusting disturbing in the world of thriller. They moved in the right direction. They really did now. You take a look at the komen event. The komen event i believe was the main event i believe that was the main attraction anderson versus tito. I gotta give tito a lot of a lot of credit. I gotta give them a lot to do so he comes out. He scared to death and you can understand that right. You can understand the fear that you would have going into combat with another man particular. When you're taking on some anderson so many people have called the greatest of all time. And now you're doing much closer to his realm. Which is boxing. And you're not you've never boxed gonna have a fear and anxiety just to go into the sport that you know very well which is now you're going and doing something different so this is a spot. The tito's in now quitting in mma is something. You can do something that you the viewer sees regularly but quitting or taking a dive is very different than a fixed fight. When pride used to fix fights they would control that but they would only go into one locker room they would only tell the guy that was going to lose. We want you to lose. And here's how we want it to happen. They would never tell the other guy which is why you didn't need emmy award winning actor to pull this off the celebration look very genuine and authentic. Because the winter thought it was. He had no idea that somebody else was visited. Or somebody else was paid or cash from the acc. Ouza literally was determined the outcome of the match. It's one of the reasons they pulled it off so successfully for so long. Nobody out of them only me in all fairness i get all the credit for bringing. That tier guys was attention. People didn't know pride was fixed including the guys that were champions and going on runs. They didn't know. I never been part of a meeting. I've never been part of a fixed fight. That's right fixed. The diver totally different. A dive happens when only one side knows now in the elicit description that i just spelled out. That's not what happens every time you see a dive when you have a guy that wants out he will formulate and sometimes he doesn't even know that before the match. He's in the match realizes. My toast is burnt. I need to get out of here in one piece. That's largely where the rear naked choke comes in turnover give back naked choke there until just just by perfect example. Dare till wanted out of that fighting the position. He knew what he needed to show. I held on just long enough to happen. Get out when tito took the dive. Gay when you have that anxiety in that fear and fighter flight sets in and you need a way out. There's not a ton of ways to get it in boxing. You're gonna have to go down to a punch. You cannot rear naked your way out of this thing. You cannot guillotine your way out of this thing so it's tough so what do you do. You wait until that first punch comes and you go down now. You do need to understand from this perspective. Tito fought a much smaller man. Then tito has ever fought in his life. Tito has never fought a man as small as anderson silva tito did not take that hard of a punch owned by the way he took it with a sixteen ounce pillow. He was out never in tito's life even chocolate. Del knocked him out back. The never tito's life was the was snoring so he's and he is out. I mean he sold this thing pro wrestling. It was great the way he went down. It was great. It looked very real. The second they say ten boom. He's awake smile on his face. And everything's fine. Okay a little bit of an over actor there. Where you have the downside. That isn't considered is anderson doesn't know that's what tito did anderson does so now anderson's walking around today gone my god. I got power. My god these hands of mine. John one time. I had to put this great big guy. Didn't even make the weight class. Said be was two hundred and forty pounds number. Put him down with one. Shot even with a pillow on my hand. One shy boy. Who i gotta be careful. That's one of the things you'll see. You'll see kids at watch. Mma and they're not aware that the rear day could choke is just the way out of a fight and they'll go spend all their time energy. Jitsu jim and money every month to go learn this devastated move known as a rare naked choke so things get a little bit weird and they get a little bit confusing now where i said i gotta give tito credit if you go and do a dive if you ever lose a fight for any reason where you were born punch and it puts you to sleep. You couldn't get up not mma where you cover up like a ball and the referee jumps in and he swarmed you said was an early stoppage and i was getting ready to go your sleep. Which is the act that tito poll. If you do that your career is now done right. That's the trade that you're making. I got outta here tonight safely. And i get a paycheck. Go home in one piece but my.

Will Brunson's Frustration Affect Him Against Till?
"Brunson's very consistent but with those consistencies. He has consistently had a problem with a striker. He can't take down. Brunson gets frustrated. I know it because it was the problem in my career. So i can see what other guys have it when they have the same problem. I can see it if brunson comes out in his game plan is to take you down and he fails to take you down. He gets frustrated and things unravel very quickly. If you go see also too great fights if you wanna go back right if you're betting on this fight to great ones to see before you form your opinion anderson silva vs derek brunson derek. Brunson beat anderson silva. He lost the decision. He won the fight one of those nights. But he's in there with a great striker anderson. Brunson was successfully getting down at least part of the time so he didn't get frustrated his plan that he came in there with work at least part of the time it was enough to march him forward through fifteen minutes. The decision is history. The opposite happened when brunson oughta sonya he knew the blueprint he knew very clearly. I must take a sonya down and so did the rest of us because it was on the heels of artists on your inventory were vittori did take him down held them. They're frustrated oughta sonya so brunson knows what he needs to do when he failed to sign. You got his hips away. Got under kept him back on the feet. Brunson got frustrated. So it's it's one of those deals because in many ways this is the same fight it is till a striker. And he's great at it and he's weird. He's a very awkward approach. He twists the hips. He keeps his hands down. He goes southpaw. he goes orthodox. He looks like he's gonna kick when he's punching. He looks like he's gonna punch when he kicks. He's awkward adds to effectiveness. Good news for brunson even though it's the first time he's fighting till it's not the first time he's fought that awkward style. Okay we are going to have a long fight. I don't close my eyes and invention away that brunson gets till out of there. I can see ways that till stops brunson. I can see where till hurts it. But they're unlikely you're going to have a long drawn out contest and brunson has always impressed me with his ability to compete the harder the rounds get the more he's gotta dig the more grind and grimy gets he seems to rise to. I think that's the kind of fight that he's going to have picking

Darren Till's Record Is One of Inconsistency
"Darren till versus kelvin. Gasol and that's a big fight of we did it today. It was an even bigger fight than it had major implications on it. I remember working for. Espn out there and dana came to the desk. This is prior to the fight. And i said to him flat out if darren till beats kelvin will be considered for the championship fight against sonya and dana said. Yes so simple as that but just to remind you of this timeframe. That would've may darren until undefeated at one eighty five even if he would have taken out a top contender in gats lem. Who just had the most razor thin fight of audits on his career there was a major revolving door. It would have opened things for till taking you back to that time from shows up to press conference and he almost fell asleep at he was so tired. So you're not gonna expect till the do very well in all fairness that's a super hard fight in a foreign land while you're exhausted at away class you have been at. Oh by the way now you get the pleasures of jetlag real thing. Till's dog going to perform well wrong. He did. But i could say the same thing about the night that till lost the welterweight championship fight to woodley. He was a favourite. The sport was getting ready to welcome in the till era. People thought he was going to run away with it and it wasn't a matter that t- would beat him if he would have beat him. I don't think i'm having this conversation. I probably would have forgotten. The fight happened. it was the way till performed. He did it till greatly underperformed. He got taken down. He's hard to take down. He got taken down. He got mauled when he was there. He got tired within the fight. It was just the performance. The lights were bright. There was a lot on. It was a massive weight cut in he underperformed point that make it. You don't know what makes this guy tick the night that till popped onto the radar. He gets thrown into a main event against cowboys. Sarony i remember. Shaab doing an entire piece on this prior to the fight and brennan was saying cowboy. Don't take this fight. There's nothing for you to gain. You're taking on an absolute unknown. All you have to do is lose esteem. even if you beat this guy you get nothing if you do anything short of steamroll him you go backwards till one the fight and he did it in the first round it did surprise everybody right you know cowboys gonna take the fight. You know that story cowboy didn't give a damn. I'm just setting the stage for you of till's career in the performances that till has had with what you thought would happen when you think everything's gonna be smooth. He's going to perform well. He doesn't when you think everything's against him he's going to go out there and laying egg he doesn't he doesn't he still inconsistent.

Jake Paul's Greatest Accomplishment So Far: Disrupting the Boxing Model
"I love the way. The paul has disrupted the boxing model. I love the way. He stepped in as a famous guy who just had something that he wanted to do. And look fame. Doesn't just travel you wherever you go and you guys would know the viewers think of your favorite hollywood actor throw the big names denzel washington right brad pitt throughout some big names jennifer aniston if they go over to boxing. Are you going to come with them. Just because you're just ask yourself that question and they'll be part. Yeah i would go watch you. Might you might go watch them once. But you're not gonna just come with them and we've seen this tested both ways. We've seen people in the boxing world roy jones junior. Who's a big and meaningful name within the box and thought he could parlay that into rap. I think if memory serves me right even shaquille o'neal try doing some level of music and entertainment to get those fans to come with you no matter where you go your youtube star but you transition those fans and you pivot over to boxing. That does not just happen. Because you have twenty million followers. There is an art to that. That's where jake. Paul should get the credit his ability to bring people along the journey. Gilbert Burns Not Confident in Tyron Woodley Ahead of Jake Paul Fight
"Let's take a look at tyron woodley vs j. paul right and this is the most fun. This is the only thing that keeps an industry or a sport to call it that. Oh boxing alive is conversations like this talking about what this guy needs to do and try to predict what's going to happen then rub it in somebody else's face tear the cage down pop the popcorn set up a move onto the next one. The only thing that keeps it alive. So let's do it. Let's talk about boxing. But you're having a lot of guys starting to weigh in on jake paul versus tyron woodley gilbert burns by example. Just did now. Most guys in gilbert burns spot who have fought tyron woodley and beat him are going to predict the guy they beat to beat the other guy. Which in this case is jake paul. They all do it trying to look like they're being nice but the real message. There is there shining their own wheels. Gilbert who would pick tyrant to win after beating tyrant is trying to get you the audience to connect the dots that i beat this guy. So if this guy entire beach jake. Paul i therefore have now beaten both and that is generally the message but gilbert with the other direction and he took ball muslims. Wait on this uis. Men has waited on. This rashad has weighed in on this and it starts to be very tough for me to get any inside information because the one thing that all four of them have in common is south florida. That's where pulse training. That's where t would have lived. Night between kennedy or a gasoline and now we zoom out to take a look at the division as a whole. There's one huge thing. I'm wondering and i gotta get into it. I'm missing something. I'm missing something. That's right in front of me and i'm not seeing it and i don't know if i took a day off. I don't know if i tuned in late one night. I don't know how it got passed me. But what is going on one hundred and eighty five pounds specifically with israel out of sonya. If you guys know that answer. I can get up and go home. But i'm missing it somewhere along the way we were told he was going to fight robert whitaker. But there's no fight announced between on a sign an robert whitaker. Am i wrong about that guys. Am i wrong about that a week ago. Eugene berryman who trains autozone and possibly managers them did an interview. And stated if darren tailwinds two fights we will not give whitaker the fight. We'll take on until who wait. A minute of tailwinds two fights. That alone is gonna take seven months. Then he's going to have to recover and train and press store or go into is a year out is he planted away two year in the fight with whittaker. Not a done deal. If the fight with whittaker isn't a done deal that who's oughta sign you're gonna fight. Who the hell is whitaker gonna fight. And why didn't it get done. Which absent of any of those answers leads me to believe. I missing something right guys. This was announced. I i missed it. This came out in the headline clicked on a different site. This was on a show somewhere. Shale was on the wrong channel. Right whitaker must be fighting. He's got to be. But now there's talk out of nowhere after cana near gets the jump on kelvin even said by cannon ear. I hope i get a title fight next. Hope you're gonna talk is that. Is that an option. You telling me oughta sign. It does not have a partner and moreover your tell me the partner wasn't whitaker. When did this happen. Where was i did an interview. I think he was talking to hell wani but he was talking about the loss yawn bloviate she said i didn't i don't mind that at all. I do not regret. Even what i know now going up and trying. I don't regret learning about that. Top control about the positions learning the different strengths. Learning for now until i'm dedicated and fully commit to light heavyweight weight class. That's where you would like to be but a lot of times that you're saying the right stuff with oughta sonya that's a shoot it straight. He does not mind. he's a competitor. And what happened. Yesterday is behind you. You want to break that down even smaller as an athlete. You want that. The night of round one doesn't go your way when you come out for round two round one is behind you when you're in round two trying to win that one you're not thinking about round three. You want to slow that down and back that up as many times as you can in its simplest to say i will just tell you athlete. It's very hard to do. You're running a race. All you gotta do is put one foot in front of the other but it's harder chasta's pounding you're tired. There's people around. When's my next drink. Where's the nearest bathroom. As this thing almost done. Can i make it ten more kilometers. It's just one of those things but all you have to do is one foot in front of the next. Do that enough time to make it to the race. Doesn't work that way very hard to not do what's called taking inventory very hard to not look ahead very hard to not remember what just happened. It's hard it's a skill but oughta sonya does have it. He showed us that in fights he is reset in between rounds go see oughta sonya versus gatt. He had a reset in the reset again. But the greats can do that. The greats aren't afraid to get beat. The greats aren't afraid to go out there and compete and people always want to talk about. Ma needs to be treated and looked at in viewed like other mainstream sports but then the athletes who are happy to bang that drum win. It serves them. Don't wanna go out and do what other mainstream sports too do you think that brett farve do you think that peyton manning. Do you think that. Tom brady sits down and changes whether or not. He's going to suit up on any given sunday when he looks at the schedule and realizes the jets are coming to town as oppose the bills. Do you see where that gets silly and ridiculous. dc where. Emma isn't like those other sports but anime guys. Don't act like those other sports. They only say when the narrative serves them all has to do with one thing which is pay more money into one of those tough spots and when you see somebody like oughta sonya who does everything right every single time. I encourage you to start copying him and it's not just him quite. Frankly balkan off skis out of that. Same jim you've got dan hooker. Who's out of that same jim. I don't know if i could be more impressed with the fighter than i am with dan hooker. I look what hooker had to go through just to get to the fight with chandler. And then he was there like another seventy three days or something because remember that story where he couldn't get out of fight island he couldn't even get home. Feeling bad for yourself is hard enough feeling bad for yourself alone little bit harder feeling bad for yourself alone in a different country. Hooker never complained once. Hooker never made an excuse once. There's something going through that team and the only guy. I know that leads. That team is eugene.

"It was soon as i got into. Ufc the very first thing i did is i got another guy in the afc. I did. I did not want to be in the same spot that it wasn't just me. It was all of my teammates. We had one of the biggest gyms in the world. we were ranked number one. The somebody did a world ranking. How official that is. But only one guy did it and for three years in a row team quest was number one. And there's only a small handful of so. When i tell you how big we were is one of those things i never. I'm not doing that. I'm not getting somewhere and not bring in a teammate with me so i look at city kickboxing. I look at the fact. That you've got a welterweight that's only had three fights so world champion and something. I'm guessing kickboxing quite frankly and don't try to throw in my face. Don't try to throw marie smith in my face. I'm aware that happens. But you guys are also aware the for a world champion kickboxer to cover may and do well is not common. it's not common for a guy from city kickboxing come over to mma and do fantastic seems to be the norm. So that's the deal with the. Us's newest guy what i want to shift gears and i want to ask you a question about some guys who have been with the ufc for awhile guys. This is a short term question right in the big picture. I'm well aware that this will work itself out but if we look at it the very short term right now right here why should connor and wiedeman comeback back. And there's got to be an answer and you need to support the idea even if you don't like it because those guys are in a different process there in a rehab process there in a rehabilitation process which takes motivation as well physical therapy and all the stuff that goes into that the tricks that i would imagine a place on your mind it needs support but why are they coming back. What is it. they're coming back to. It's very interesting question. The both have this injury. And they're both fighters are both tough guys and they both aspire. Neither one of them wants to go down but it does at some point become the same problem that every gambler and every alcoholic has to face one more drink my last one one more poll of the slot just one more. It's my last one ends up that same thing in fighting and why would the result change like what got better particularly if you're out and injured you're not the gym you're not growing. You're not switching workout partners. You're not swinging regimens or teammates which generally doesn't work anyway. But it's at least a lie that you can tell yourself right. I i did this. I know what i'm talking about. I did it. i'm just sharing with you. what are we doing. And then particularly let's let's take connor. Right of wiedeman comes back. It was one of the guys when he left very meaningful tougher. Hell if he comes back to that same spot. He's one of the guys he's very meaningful. He's very tough. He's not going to be a main veterans outta championship fight. He's one of the guys. Is that something you come back to. Ms. that's something you really want to come back to to be one of the guys. I'm asking a question by the way. I'm not passing judgment here. I'm just looking at it going okay but if you do come back and we know for sure you can't have gotten better you can't get better by sitting at home to a rehab right. I mean you see my point. So if the result isn't going to change how many more do we need. How many more drinks. How many more polls of the slot. What are we doing here. And why berry open to an answer. "Season. I've ever been part. Only guess what it was the shortest season that ever existed with the pandemic with all the rules with everything that change. I think we seven weeks. It might have been six and a half. It was so challenging them. They started out. I remember the first email. I got no contact wrestling and i remember telling coach. Sam ron. I don't know how to do that. Like i don't know how to we've got a great team and i don't just mean the athletes. The coaching staff the parents the fans like it's just a really great air. I'm in a community of wrestler's wrestling in westland taken very seriously so i don't know how to do no contact wrestling. I've been at this my whole life since i was nine years old. I've never done that. No contact oh by the way. You must have a mask on okay. The rules were changing very quickly. I'm out here in oregon. They were changing very quickly. So that was a period of time but we got through it and then whole teams in the room. Everybody's wear a mask but we can touch each other. We re shut down an oregon. A rule gets put in place that you can only have six athletes and one coach at practice time. And that's for indoor sports. I don't know the rules for outdoor. We had two categories oregon indoor outdoor. I followed the indoor. So we're thinking okay. Great we'll put. We got twenty four guys on the team. Get six in the wrestling room. We'll get six in the weight room. We'll get six upstairs on the basketball court. Get another six outside on the track will rotate. 'em no it's a battle for resources and each team can only have six in the building so our idea about splitting between the weight room or up on the basketball court ideas out so we decided the only thing we know to do is to hold four. We got six twenty. Four guys hold four practices with six guys per hour so we ended up holding four practices a day. Now that only lasted for a week. The rules changed again. Okay everybody's back inside but we're losing. Athletes were losing athletes for a variety of reasons. One wrestling is tough. And any excuse you can find to not have to do it. A lot of guys. We'll take in all fairness the other side of the coin is all of the different opinions on the safety measures. That are in place. You're gonna lose a couple of people for that too so there was some pushing some. Our team starts to get whittled down so we ended up with about twenty one guys but we lost some real hammers. I mean i'm talking about state guys. The all district district finalists qualified for the state tournament very meaningful members on a team that is point driven where you need some point. So here's the situation we're in and i. I don't know if i've ever had a more memorable year. We also don't know if there's going to be a state tournament now. Our coaching staff is no different than any other coaching staff. Where you preach all year long. The only thing that matters is districts in state the only thing that matters is district in state. Now that's not just because those are the perennially vents. It's because you're stub your toe along the way into fix a kid so that he doesn't hang on to a defeat overhearing aside term or a duly. You remind him. This is part of the preparation. Let it go. That's the message when coaches and we're no different than anybody else but when we say nothing matters put the state tournament. That's the reason where that comes from so that somebody doesn't cling to something and then dwell and stay down right world's big play seasons along place. We can't let it get stuck in the cracks. That's our meeting. But those aren't our words are words are nothing matters but districts and state out. Here in oregon. Guess what they took away from us when they announced our season districts in state. so now. we're coaches who have preached to these kids from day. One who have been with us from day one that the only thing that matters according to us is not going to happen. So why are we here. You see where this becomes a problem so now we lose more kids so now we start twenty four. We go to twenty one. We're down to eighteen okay. Rules keep changing state decides. They are going to hold the district tournament. Owa steps in over the osha day and rules. We're going to have a state championship to the. Owa is going to respect the results of the district which is held by the way. But we're going to hold this damn thing. Great everything's back on board. We got eighteen guys. let's rock all. We have things that happened. Over this season. We have two guys that went onto the professional ranks. Ricky and kale bowls signed with oregon state. They're going to represent the beavers now. West lynne has had all americans before. But they're rare. And i could probably count on one hand. Ricky bell was third. He is an all american. He was third in fargo at the junior nationals. He is defending state champion. All he has to do is show this year and go get his award. Hold that thought because we also have killed brunson. Kale brunson is a two-time. I said to time state champion. All he's got to do in his senior year is show up and get his war. They're those guys. Those guys appear all the time. There's nothing you can do with. We all get it and you just gotta have a level of success at other guys. Aren't okay great. Well the way the season unfolds and the way there was misinformation or information coming in out of place and out of line. Those guys have other plans that exclude them for participating in the district tournament..

"Course everybody is talking about. And where does he go from here when he might fight again in who it might be against. But i'd like to take a moment here to instead talk about the perception of conor mcgregor following his post fight interview with joe rogan from saturday. Night oh it is fascinating. It really is at least for me to see the way that connor is being treated right now. It's not the first time this is very normal. In fact it's not unusual that you build somebody up and then you tear them down that you enjoy cheering for them. In then you enjoy even more their demise. The psychology of is fair game. In my opinion. I'm not innocent of anything that i just stated over my course and my life of being a fan of things i get. It's why can identify some of. It is surprising for me to see coming from our community. I'm talking about like the dirt sheets. And i go to. The mania has the elbows. They could never get an interview with conor mcgregor. They've been covering him. They will cover somebody else's interview somebody else's work some other information of connor. They will cover it because he was very good for business. You would think that they owe him a bit of a thank you you can serve that thank you to a guy literally if you ever meet him by putting your hand out and saying the words or at a time when he could use a little bit of help. You could be a little bit helpful. And they are burying him. Connors gone too far. Connor brought up as wife. What a scumbag. Connor last night put out some tweets and then quickly deleted them but they had to do with like death or something right. i'm getting paraphrase from somebody else. They were deleted. I mean that is really that is high level stuff right there and if you had a minimum cannot sit back and appreciate in tip your hat to that you're missing you're missing some really great moments. You're missing some very special moments as to how certain athletes get to certain positions and maintain that spot longer than others. And you really do have a genius at work. Who did not break character. Look the rest. It hurt me seeing. That happened to him. Did you guys have that feeling like dude. That kind of hurt. Your legs seen it. Does he get sick in your stomach a little bit. Oh my god that was just seeing it. He was actually in the moment. Anybody else would have wanted to be to cry out in pain. And have their mother holding them. It would be a very natural reaction. He probably also wanted to cry in pain and have his mother holding. He stayed in character and he cut a scathing. Promo is it. Because he's a scumbag or is it possible that he's an entertainer. Doing his job possible. I think it's worth considering. I also do believe you should show a little bit of grace because whether you like that human or not. He's still a human and he's injured when a beat this guy up even on the dot com. We wanna do that. That's pretty obvious that somebody should be speaking about that but nobody was in. My mind. never went there. I think that's because i don't. I don't know how active i look connor. I don't know that. If i think about the division i think about the sport i acknowledged. What a story is acknowledged. What a draw draw is i would be anything but it connor hater. But i also don't know that i ever look him as one of the guys in the division. That's going anywhere right. He's so sporadic. We're hearing toxin. He's trying to box fanny pack. Yeah i'm just by example he's sporadic. He's out there doing things for big attractions. And i don't know how much i've ever thought of him as a fire on the roster that matters and that isn't looking to sleight. I could be completely wrong. Maybe connor wants to be the champion of the world. Maybe he wants to go out. Beat dustin poor. Who is the number one contender. Take that from him and go and fight for the belt himself. I haven't heard him speak that way. Which is one of the reasons that i haven't thought he's going to retire and continue to do things. That are fun and or silly. As long as there are big attraction. But i might have it all wrong. Maybe he is a die hard competitor and he believes if he loses to portray it slides down into a hole that he can't come out of that his days of contender ships are long gone. So what am i doing here in. What am i doing it for if and you know what if i am wrong if conner looks at this and he is a hard competitor. I would like that more. I would prefer that that. Be the truth. I just haven't looked at him that way. Because i keep hearing these weird things. That's a weird thing to go box. Manny pack yup gay. That's what a weirdo would do. Your naughty boxer. Don't go box. It's one of those things but if you're looking to just go out and have a good time and you've got a different goal which is to bring an audience and attraction. Have somebody set the cameras up and go do something. The world's going to watch and that's that's the category. That i put mcgregor but i might be putting him there falsely. I would love if somebody asked him that question. If you beat dustin do you plan to take on olivera. It will be offered to you if you want it. What will you say in o'connor says hell yes. They get beaten. Can't figure out what went wrong if that fight wasn't to get you somewhere else. Why did you want to win it. Did you even want to win it. What would be the point of winning and why you may not know this cautiously sub cautiously. Which is what you turn to when you have to dig deep when the going gets tough and you rather be done but you gotta stay in here and find a way to win there. You gotta have a reason. If you're just doing one fight for the sake of exercise would know gold. Take you anywhere it's meaningfully different whether you're cautious of that or your sub conscious of that so of cars going to go in here handle his business with korea as a way of getting somewhere else. He is a bigger drive. There's something larger at play here. That's going to mean something for me. And that will also have something for connor in his preparation for this. If this is all about just come in handle this thing with poor get my name on. Tmz and then try to find a way to to box with manny pacquiao. When the going gets tough you're gonna have nothing to turn to. You're going to have no motivation. They're going to have no reason for being here. Which is how. I've always interpreted connor if any of that. Sounds like an insult to you. I'd trade place with connor right now. That's a great spot to be in. It's not a great way to win an ass whipping contest against a nether trained ass whipper and that's what we're talking about. So michael ping is onto something here. If connor was to lose to dustin. Where does he go. What does he do. And i understand. There will always be an opportunity and there will always be options but is that what connor wants. It's never been a part of connors career where he was here to be one of the boys right one of his great expressions. We're not here to take part where here to take over as soon as the overtaking becomes clear that you've been overwhelmed. Are you looking at an undertaking at that point. Where is your motivation. What is your drive. Why are we here. I'm telling you when the going gets tough if conner has prepared for this fight just for the sake of winning this fight and not to take that and have a bigger play when the going gets tough and he has to turn inward and find meaning and find a reason it's going to realize he doesn't have one.

"If a guy is injured as cold heart as that may sound if he is openly telling you. I'm not good enough or tough enough to even walk out there and try for whatever reason you can't keep them at number three in the rankings. He just told you. I can't even do it. So i only bring that to you because this is a volunteer army but it has to stay that way. It can get very gross very fast. Your parents will encourage you to try soccer. they will encourage you. Try some ball sports getting there and the baseball get in there with the volleyball the to get out there and try see you like it. Throw some stuff. The city like get on a horseback all sorts of activities. See what you like. Your parents will never encourage you to go into fist fighting. They just won't. It's not one of those things you play is not one of those things that you get forced into. That's not right when that happens. It can't be true. All the way up to the octagon it has to be volunteer and the best in the world in all sport has to do with a voluntary participation. That's where it starts. Who wants to do this. Who wants to enter the pool. Who wants to be in the field. You get your players and then you find some kind of a competitive architecture to work it out so that you can have your rankings so you can have your champion your second place third place. This is the way works in of one guy for whatever reason and i don't. I don't begrudge francis francis is in a beautiful spot. They didn't take francis belt away. Start at the bottom. Get into a practice room. Get into an environment teammates. Fine coaches show up every day. Get a little extra work going to set your alarm clock a half hour early for school. And you're you're going to get two miles while the rest of the kids are sleeping. I do you see where this goes. You're going to get noticed you're going to get signed. How are you going to do that because you're going to get media you're going to build your social reputation. You have all of these little goals. What nate does so. Well is the little goals k. If you want to be the world champion that's appear you gotta get signed. You gotta work hard. You gotta get attention but everything in this. Sport is a competition everything in if you try to go right to the finals. Which is i'm gonna get a championship match. And i'm gonna beat that guy more rounds and he'd beats me best to five. You're never gonna get there if you show up to a press conference. You have to be ready to compete. You should be keeping track. That guy's got two questions. I've got none yet. He's up to two none. You have to compete for everything. I can remember being at press conference. I generally don't have that problem. I don't say that china wills. Most of the questions came to me.
