Georgia prosecutor investigating Trump's call to Raffensperger

"In addition to the events of january sixth. The article mentioned just one other specific event quote president. Trump's conduct on january six twenty twenty one followed his prior efforts to subvert and obstruct the certification of the results of the twenty twenty presidential election. Those prior efforts included a phone call on january second during which president trump urged the secretary of state of georgia. Brad ravensburger to find enough votes. To overturn georgia presidential election results. President trump threatened secretary burger if he failed to do so. I know that that thing in georgia that little episode of attempted election interference by donald trump has been swallowed up by history already. This phone call was eclipsed by the violent attack on the us capitol just four days later. It's like how the resignation of vice president. Spiro agnew got swallowed up in history because watergate forced the resignation of president nixon right after it and so when i wrote a podcast and wrote a book about spiro. Agnew people are like. Who's that guy. He wouldn't believe what a big scandal that was for a minute until a much bigger scandal eclipsed it and made us all forget the earlier one when really really life changing terrible thing happens. It tends to blot out the memory of other really bad stuff. That might have happened just before this and so it is with this georgia call. But there's a reason that this georgia called this january second phone call is the one other specific event that the author author the impeachment resolution decided to include in their charges against former president trump. Because it's because before the january sixth violent attack on the us capitol members of congress. Were already considering a second impeachment of president trump just for that goal because at that point before island attack on the us capitol. His hour-long phone call to georgia secretary of state pushing and threatening george official to try to get the election results overturned there before the attack on the capital that was president trump's most egregious and blatant act of trying to apparently criminally alter and mess with the election results to try to hold onto power. And he not only did it. It was all on tape. So what are we going to do here. But i only need eleven thousand votes found us. I need eleven thousand. Give me a break for you. Know what they did. And you're not reporting it. That's a that's a criminal. That's a criminal offense and you can't let that happen. That's that's a big risk to you and to ryan you lawyers. That's a big risk is not fair to take it away from us like this and it's got to be very costly in many ways and i think you have to say that you're gonna reexamine it and you can reexamine but reexamine it with people that wanna find answers not people that don't wanna find answers. You can't let it happen and you are letting it happen all you know i mean i'm notifying you. You're letting it happen. So all i wanna do is i just wanna find Eleven thousand seven hundred eighty loads. I want you to find exactly enough votes to declare me the winner of the election in your state. And if you don't that's a big risk to you. I'm notifying you all criminal offense by you say you have reexamined. Didn't i actually one or else. And when president trump made that call on january second four days before the attack on the capital he hit already called. Georgia's governor to pressure him. To overturn the state's election results to trump also personally called a level official in the georgia secretary of state's office. The guy in charge of elections investigations and spent a long time. Personally pressuring that guy to quote find the fraud that would result in overturning. The election results in georgia and declaring trump the winner while president trump was making all of these calls personally the top federal prosecutor in atlanta. Us attorney in atlanta resigns under direct pressure from the trump white house because trump felt and communicated to that the us attorney that he was not doing enough to find that non-existent fraud that would somehow allow the overthrowing of the election results. One of the things that made the series of escalating interventions georgia's election so remarkable. Was that it. It was just also blatantly illegal. Not just impeachable but illegal like go to jail illegal. It is against the law in georgia to solicit someone to commit election fraud state election officials to find you exactly the number of votes you need to turn the election result the other way threatening collections officials that they to change vote counts in your favor or else would surely seem to fall under that statute will now even as donald trump's second impeachment trial unfolds in the us senate and what a spectacle it is and that trial unfolds on an article of impeachment that specifically references trump's threatening call to george a secretary of state while nell a high profile state prosecutor in georgia district attorney the largest county in the state fulton county has now opened a criminal investigation that centers on that phone call district attorney. There has sent this letter to george secretary of state governor lieutenant governor and attorney general extracting them all to preserve any and all records related to the two thousand twenty election quote. This letter is notice that the fulton county district attorney has opened an investigation into attempts to influence the administration of the twenty twenty georgia general election. This investigation includes but is not limited to potential violations of georgia law prohibiting the solicitation of election fraud the making of false statements to state and local governmental bodies conspiracy racketeering violation of oath of office and any involvement in violence or threats related to the elections administration quote. This matter is of high importance. Excuse me the this matter is of high priority. The next fulton county grand jury is due to convene in march. This office will begin requesting grand jury subpoenas as necessary at that time

Widening the IT Talent Pool

"Explored some of the issues surrounding diversity. In tech or better stated lack of diversity in tech an area we have not dug into yet is the talent pipeline and the role it plays in building diversities in our teams and our companies. This is your host jeff ton in this episode. We're going to speak with nicole crane. Nicole is the ceo of tectonic a software development company that is a certified b. corp and which has diversity as part of its core mission. Tectonic is the creator of the first software development apprenticeship recognized by the department of labor. Welcome to the show nicole. Hi jeff thanks so much for having me super exciting yes. I'm really excited to dig into this. Because when i learned of tectonic in the role you were playing as having that apprenticeship. I just couldn't wait to dig in and understand more about how that works but before we do that. I'd love to know about your journey. What brought you to tectonic. And then we'll get into what tectonic does in itself. But i'd love to start with your journey turn so i actually started my career in silicon valley in I actually work for very large cable operator back in the day but i quickly moved into the startup world and you know all things technology back in the day regardless of industry and as i progressed through my career you know certainly started facing the same challenges that most companies did in that we couldn't find good talent or we were constantly competing for the same pool. People in about four years ago. I moved to boulder colorado for an opportunity with sas company and again the same thing. We're competing with talent especially when google moved into town and then You know. I was in the market again in looking and i came across tectonic and i was like what genius idea And having lived the side of trying to find talent fast enough in qualified enough of like. Wow i now have an opportunity to go from the other end and help others. That are facing the same challenge by extending the offering that tectonic head. So i was. I was super excited. By 'cause i was like i can't believe somebody hadn't thought about this sooner. So tell me about tectonic itself first of all. What do you do Tectonic do and give me a little bit of the background on the company. How came to to have such an important role in diversity cheer so tectonic is in outsourced custom development shop so we are All onshore here in the us and then we do everything from quick projects to staff augmentation technology teams and then the more interesting piece of that is the apprenticeship program that we run to effectively develop software developers so when heather terenzi started the company. Geez about fourteen years ago it was really just a development shop and she ran into the same problem. Everybody else has which is. Where do you find. Good talent that you can bring on. And she had this notion of well. Why don't i just teach people to do the job. Hence the apprenticeship was born about four years ago for three and a half four years ago and the idea was to bring folks in give them classroom training and then migrate them into the development teams where they can have the on the job learning portion that would allow them that real world experience and then progress through says where it started and then she also they ran into some situations where clients ra like. These folks are fantastic. Can we hire them and in the notion usually in most companies is non compete non solicitation. Because you want to find good people you don't wanna lose them but in my experience if people are going to leave they're going to leave regardless of what agreement you have with your client so why not enable that journey for somebody and that's really

"Been very busy awarded a lot of contracts and what were essentially focused on in mind the two main capabilities that we plan on fielding are beyond line of sight targeting for time sensitive targets. So we want to be able to detect and track and target things such as mobile missile launchers and shifts all from space. So we want to be able to do all of that. And then send those data down directly to a weapons platform and then the second capability is to feel the exact same thing except now instead of targeting mobile missile launchers and ships were actually targeting glide vehicles and and new advanced missile threats. So what we're looking to do is we're looking to put systems in place that can do those missions as rapidly as possible as early as october of twenty twenty two and then every two years there continue to spiral and develop and put out new capabilities based on the latest technologies. The latest threats. So you're right we have already fielded or excuse me. We've already put on contract. They capabilities to do the transport layer. Which is the data transport to allow us to do the low latency communication that enables all of these missions and the The wide field of view. I are infrared sensing systems that will actually detect and track the missiles and then we can be those track does send those data transport and send them to the weapons that form so the next steps we have our to actually put on contract the mission specific applications or those. That is a lot of magic has to happen in software to be able to close that kill chain so we we are currently evaluating proposals to be able to to do those software applications so that we can put folks contract to push forward and and then start developing nose and then after that it is just cranking out and making sure that the folks on contract along with our government teammates at the naval research laboratory can all perform and develop and build these systems. with the with the goal bean these will all be launched in in october. Twenty twenty two and in august twenty. Twenty one we're actually going to go out for a solicitation for the trump one which would be the satellites that we've been launching in twenty twenty four so those that's kind of what is on our very near term and medium-term horizons

Magic mushrooms could help treat depression, study finds

"Trials focusing on depression concentrated specifically on treatment resistant depression a clinical classification that categorizes patients suffering from md who have not responded effectively to at least two different pharmacological antidepressant treatments during a current depressive episode so to translate that that means that that standard allopathic medicine methods of treating depression are not working for these people. I'm really curious as to what kind of therapy. They're doing cognitive behavioral. Good question that they were doing with addicts that had would. That was having great response with both silla. Simon and lsd in this case they say this mdd which is again major depressive disorder Is much more common with some estimates suggesting over three hundred million people worldwide suffering from this debilitating condition while a larger face trial before or after the planned. Amick to good question while a larger phase two trial testing silla cyber dd is currently underway. This new study in the journal of jama atri and i think that's journal of american medicine. Association offers the first peer reviewed published data showing efficacy for this particular mental health condition. This small preliminary trial recruited twenty four subjects with at least two years of documented history of depression. All of the subjects were required to wean off of any antidepressant treatment before the trial commenced so they were clean from the medications they've been on and the story here says depression was assessed using the standard grid. Hamilton depression scale rating the severe depression scores of twenty four or higher on the scale while seven or less is classified as no depression. At the beginning of the study. The average score for the cohort was twenty three. So these were severely depressed people. The treatment process resembled the general protocol used in most suicide. Simon studies two doses of silla. Simon were administered to each subject spaced two weeks. Apart a number of psychotherapy sessions both preceded and followed the active solicitation sessions. The results were undoubtedly impressive with seventy one percent of the cohort displaying more than a fifty percent reduction in depressive symptoms at the four week. Follow up so wow four weeks. After the treatment seventy one percent of these people had a more than fifty percent reduction in symptoms. That's pretty significant. Ya and it's not and the reason big pharma hates it. is it actually cures. that's right. it's not something that you have to keep growing and taking every single day for the rest of your life. I mean you could. But i mean you you couldn't. You'd probably have good old time. You'd also micro dose on sivan fairly effectively and not even

"A win for Patriots owner Robert Kraft in his fight against the solicitation charges. In Florida NPR's Tovia Smith reports prosecutors have dropped the charges saying they couldn't proceed since courts a blocked the use of video allegedly showing craft paying for sex in a massage parlor. Robert Kraft was one of dozens arrested last year on misdemeanor charges in a sting aimed at an alleged human trafficking ring. Last month and appeals court ruled that the video taken by hidden cameras was extreme surveillance and couldn't be used in court Florida's attorney general declined to appeal to the State Supreme Court fearing. A decision that might limit future law enforcement efforts without the videos prosecutors say they couldn't prove their case against the Patriots. "Well, charges are likely to be dropped in the prostitution solicitation case against Patriots owner Robert Kraft. As prosecutors in Florida decide against another appeal disease, Jim McKay says Kraft also wants video evidence in the case destroyed forever. It was last month when the state appeals court sided with the lower court's decision to have video evidence in this case thrown out under the guise of the way cameras were installed during the investigation of the Orchards of Asia SpA in West Palm Beach, Florida. Robert Kraft legal team, saying the way that was handled tied to a search warrant violated Fourth Amendment rights. A judge last year agreed with that argument in the state's case has been an uphill battle ever since, and appeals courts craft was initially charged with solicitation in February of last year after more than 20 men were arrested for allegedly receiving sex acts for payment in that spot. You'd expect much better protect the MVP chance not long before halftime quite an embarrassing finish. To be honest and I personally think by got macho a first gear. In terms of you know what they can produce. were, able to control the game and when the Champions League yeah. This wasn't quite what we are expecting. Frank. Why not? Well because of clumsiness, some some players and and just mentioned MVP I think I'm not sure that mini. Was the best team overall during the season of chimpanzee. Yes. It's too bad is to Neymar is to Maria three clear opportunities in my opinion. In the first half they not take advantage of and from then on it was difficult to see PTSD to get after by Munich particularly after by an escort PSG got disorganized, they were more concerned about the files, the yellow cars, the physicality of the game rather than playing the game a no better example of that that Neymar who in the second half had difficulties trapping the ball passing. We live in a small world.

"Yesterday. We published our guest series episode with a Law Hawkins. I'm looking forward to sitting down with him for a full interview shortly but I want to call attention to something. Specific he said in his guests series yesterday was going to read it to you. But I thought it'd be easy to just play it about a forty five second clip. So I'll put that free now when I first met Don. I was an eight year old kid from Queens with a couple of years violin lessons under my belt whereas done was in his late thirties and was a violinist for the New York Philharmonic. Which is one of the best orchestras in the world. Don could have had quite the ego and quite the contrary don treated me with a level of respect that I had never experienced frankly from any other adult ever at the time when I came to his Manhattan Studio every Thursday afternoon for my violin. Lesson Don made me feel like I was the most important person in the world. He always listened to what I had to say as we progressed. Pete start to ask for my feedback on what direction I wanted to go into. What type of music I wanted to play with Don. I felt like my opinions were really valued pretty cool right. Definitely check out the whole episode. If you haven't already I'm going to come back to why this part stuck with me a minute. The first one was story about a CO worker. I had at my very first job. I worked at a grocery store bagging groceries and pushing shopping carts when I was a teenager. There was a manager. There who wasn't well liked. He did his job fine but he didn't have a great personality and he definitely didn't endear himself to any of the line level employees one day one of the cashiers with whom. I was friends. Decided he'd had enough he'd been looking for another job and he finally found one that would let him leave. He pulled me aside and told me he was going to tell her manager how he really felt and then quit. I was seventeen while I wouldn't have the guts to do that myself. Party was kind of excited to see it happen. So that's what he did. He didn't throw a Tantrum or start cursing but he did raises voice and he was very clear in front of several employees and customers about all the personality shortcomings. This manager had and while his words weren't incorrect his actions definitely weren't appropriate but he clocked out took off his apron and walked out of the store. I saw him a few months later and asked him how the new job was going. He never got to start. Apparently one of the managers at the new place was actually a former coworker of the bad manager. And they still talk sometimes since we were teenagers. I'm sure he's able to leave his past behind eventually but I know he probably regretted his actions that day too. I've given leadership development training to literally thousands of employees over the years and one of the things I make sure to land with. All of them is just how small this big role really is and how. It's literally never a good idea to intentionally set fire to bridges back to a launch clip. It might be obvious to anyone older than their teens. That it's not a great idea to tell a boss off before leaving a company but what's less obvious to many so often the tables turn in a relationship how often employ becomes leader and leader becomes employees. How often violin student becomes violent master and moves past his or her instructors professionally and this is why a long story of his violin. Teacher is so important. Every day we encounter people both in real life and increasingly virtually and we make decisions and how we treat those people how we accept them and we assign value to what they bring into our lives and while we typically aren't mean to anyone. Our level of engagement and responsiveness and likeliness to help is influenced by how we view these people in relation to our own standing how they can positively impact our lives. But they're all assumptions. If you're unlinked in think about how you'd react to seeing a message in your inbox from a recruiter at a competing company asking us. You're open to a chat now. Consider how you'd react if the message was from a person you've never met before pitching service they offer the primary difference between them is that one of them has something you want and the other doesn't if you really think about it. That's it assuming both messages were well written personalized and respectful. There's really not much else separating the two but I'll be the first one to admit too often ignoring leading the solicitation message while pining over the recruiter message investing significant time crafting. My reply is it mean to ignore and delete the other message. It's certainly not tell your boss mean and the person likely sent hundreds of the same message to other people and they likely assume they won't hear back from the vast majority but it's not kind either. It's not how we'd want to be treated if the shoe on the other foot and the shoe often switches to the other foot the average person between twenty two and forty five changes companies every three and a half years but hardly ever switches industries that means millions of people shuffle around every year working alongside you this year working for a competitor next year and relationships are accumulated just because you no longer work directly with the person doesn't mean they don't have opinions on what kind of person you are alongs. Violin teacher made such an impression on him. Just by the way treated him that several decades later he became the answer to a random podcasters question of who has been the most impactful leader in your life and why I'm sure other violin. Teachers would have been great at teaching violent too. But that's not what stuck. What stuck was how he was made to feel by this person who validated him. Who treated him with the utmost kindness even though he didn't have to as you go through your days. And you encounter people in Your Life Dr. the Grub delivery guy a salesperson on Lincoln or a violent teacher

2019 Game Publisher Rankings

"Let's talk about the publisher. Rankings is a yearly feature though. I always end up talking about because it's actually a feature. That metacritic puts together where they rank all the publishers based on a few factors the average metascore for all games released in a year. That we're looking at twenty nine thousand nine. The percents of games that got good reviews which is a seventy-five or higher the percents that got great reviews which is nine hundred ninety or higher and then they take away points for the number of games that got bad reviews forty nine or lower the crunch those numbers and they come up with a list of all the publishers ranked. So we're going to go through the top ten for we before we dive into the or any any sort of predictions Nintendo zone. Yeah because they have such a weird situation where they produced so many internal games and then they reviewed a lot more because they're Nintendo so they just had the slight conflicts of high scores and high volume. Okay so you're expecting intended to be high on the list okay. Let's see number. Ten beginning with number ten was developer. No reliable publisher average review score in Twenty nineteen seventy-six. They had about yeah. They put out down while on switch which I still need to play. Excessive Vertical Flip Game wore number nine was square necks with an average review. Score of seventy six point one. This is just for the year is twenty nine thousand. So that's kingdom hearts indefinitely. Cry Got Pretty good scores or w cries capcom. But there's some other games. Great Knicks released more games until nineteen than anyone else. Twenty eight different games. Okay in two thousand eighteen. So Yeah Kingdom hearts was one of them. I don't have solicitation game that what am I thinking of? It'll come to also shutter bringers for fourteen dragon. Quest's eleven s for switch near Thomas Game of the Year Edition Alison Game of the addition. Should count. Well you'll have to take that up with with with Mr Critic. Mr Critic on the phone number eight. This is pretty get number. Eight comes with a disclaimer. You know why that would be because they're gone because it's humble bundle home abundance owned by the number eight publisher in two thousand eighteen. Will they say the spires play the spire one of the absolute best games of the year? And this year. They put up ten times as well reviewed. Tim is out early access to be definitely out in playable right now. That's the Pug on like IMO number. Seven was xbox game studios average of you score seventy six point four. I don't know what's wrong with my brain. But what xbox Easley gear for two years five. That was it for the fall. 'cause they were GONNA have Maurienne battle toads those pushed they did put the original on switch Which is a great game now helps score but the score was held back a little bit by crackdown. Price Gouging Incidents Follow Coronavirus Outbreak

"Have you been to the supermarket recently? Tried to buy hand sanitizer even toilet paper. Basic supplies are selling out in the wake of the corona virus and that creates a problem in times of demand. Price-gouging can be a big issue. That is something New York attorney. General Letitia James has noticed. I asked her for the evidence that she's seen. We've issued a total of six letters to merchants for price gouging of hand sanitizers and disinfectants sprays. In addition to that we've sent out three cease and desist letters to merchants for selling products. They claim to treat or cure corona virus individuals who've been engaged in deceptive advertising. They include the televangelist. Jim Bakker who had a person on his show selling a product that claim to treat corona virus. And what they are doing is nothing short of taking advantage of the fears That's out there throughout the general public. And what we should be doing is spreading facts and not fear. So it's it's one thing to put forth a completely fraudulent cure or something that claims to be a cure for the corona virus. Price-gouging is more complicated. Is it not? How do you determine when raising prices across the line and becomes illegal price-gouging well in one particular instance and individual a store in midtown Manhattan with selling a hand sanitizer for seventy nine dollars and so? There's no definitive answer to that question. But you know it when you see it. And so I don't know of any hand sanitizer. That costs almost eighty dollars. And so you know when you see when individuals are taking advantage of the market particularly when neighboring stores selling the same product for considerably less the Justice Department created an agency called the National Center for Disaster Fraud After Hurricane Katrina. Do you think the federal government is doing enough to protect people from getting taken advantage of financially clearly The federal government can do more. I'm not in a position. Right now. To criticize the federal government it will not ignore to the benefit of anybody and it will not result in addressing the issue of this virus. And what we really should be doing is working together. The federal government should be working with municipal governments as well as state governments and providing US assistance and testing and providing all municipalities and private companies testing kits that we contested test the general public. And lastly what can consumers do if they encounter what they believed to be price-gouging in their state? So let me just say that. The Office of Attorney General. We have one Urging individuals caution with respect to making charitable donations if individuals want to report Retailers that appear to be taking unfair advantage of consumers. They can report these incidents to the office of Attorney General. You can report. Suspicious charitable solicitations and scams to the office of Attorney General. "All right well we earn spur. Well I know I guess it's not spring yet but it seems like it's trying to be spring here it's trying. It's making me anxious. I WanNa plant some stuff. I know. Well that's everybody's implant fever. There's a lot of people out there right now. That are you know getting ahead of the game. I you know like J. B. E. popped in late February He's already like two or three weeks deep on his stuff so people are out there. Doing we don't usually do it to like March because they get paid like we. We don't need nine foot plans exactly so so. There's no really reason for us to go until about now but we are going to pop seeds now ready. I think that basically where we pop in our crosses from last year for sure because we gotta work those and I guess will pop you know whatever we decide on the ripcord jd short yep and then of course the rip cord and then yes. Of course the ripcord have to because I mean we've been waiting for that one mix monsters. Yes things are ugly. So we're GONNA Maybe considered crossing those two since since we have them. Why not why not? It's supposedly very very gassy. Now I told you about it. Got Me really high in studio when he brought it in for the Accu. I don't got to try it quite yet. You Jealous loop a little bit all right. So let's get right into the news just a few things here. The Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and explosives issued a memo requiring gun dealers in Michigan to use federal background checks because current policy is allowed to many habitual marijuana users to illegally obtain firearms. Are Dirty. A bitch will marijuana use. Our SAMPHA CAN POT SMOKERS. Dammit figure shot a whisking come down. We'll sell your gun all day long you I. It's terrible. It's terrible I take that back. I mean it's just terrible that they're being so focused on a bitch you'll marijuana users as they put it. Yes exactly food and Drug Administration finally sent Congress Overdue Update on its efforts to formulate policy on enforcement discretion for CD products. Basically what this was you know? They've been getting dinged to come up with some guidelines for marketing. Yeah because people can make these crazy claims and they kind of have been. Yes I mean and if it's not crazy claimed CBD bedsheets in like. I'm surprised they haven't come up with. Cd TAMPONS AND CBD. I think they have some but they the CD pillow. Have you seen that one? You'll see okay. The pillow and I was the reason. I- pauses because of thinking about that. Yeah the CBD. Tampons probably not for a while. I could see that being well. It's they've offered you know they I was. I remember when we first went into top shelf and we were told by one of the guys in there about using I think it was empower on a Tampon and that his girlfriend did it. And so it helped with it helps with internal use of keeping cramps. Os sure will mean empower. That shits the bomb so. I expect their products to work. But I had a lapse or I'm like wait a second. That doesn't sound too crazy. But yes CBD pillow. I mean with snap crazy I mean. Do they surprised? They don't have like CD car seat covers and Shit Cagno. Ashdown way you drive in which I could see this commercial now. Do you have road rage order now? Our new. Cbd Car seat covers in road rage and your road rage now. Only twenty nine ninety five organ activists announced that they've collected more than the required number of raw signatures to put a drug decriminalization treatment. Expansion measure on the November ballot. This is what we've been talking about. We've had a couple of interviews. One was decriminalised and also we talked with a Delic and we referred number numerous times even read the news articles about how organs pushing for decriminalized drugs all of them really but You know Suicide in An and the genes is part of that to the signatures haven't been validated yet. Though so the campaign will keep collecting for more absolutely so basically. They announced Thursday that they had gathered. One hundred twenty. Five thousand signatures was huge I guess invalidated so that means. Probably no one's not. What responded back we know what that means is they gotta validate that the all those signatures are legit. So basically they WANNA make sure that they're not like duplicates or you know if they're forging signatures. I don't know exactly how they do that. Basically your son's nephew. Yeah well. It wasn't there but yeah just make sure that they're legit signatures. So their efforts is to go over. There already. Claimed ten thousand over. But they're going to continue going just to have some sort of safety They've had really good response though and not really surprised. I mean organ. I think is one of the places. It's going to be pioneering theologians. You know we didn't so much with cannabis but it seems like we're really pushing for pretty quick with the with people wanting to do this. Yeah this initiative is backed by the National Organization Drug Policy Action It's GONNA make it. Basically a civil infraction punishable by a maximum. One hundred dollar fine no jail. Time Nice and this is the problem. I just have to mention this. This is only thing that really bugs me about this and we did mention this previous. I think it was indicriminate. But the measures going to take funds not all of them but takes some marijuana tax revenue from schools education and redirect that to substance abuse programs. I get it. It's just education you know that was a great thing that we were getting from the cannabis taxes and we still will get that. I just don't know how much is GONNA be diverted. I hope it's not enough to affect education because right now everything's going well but as you know even with this money they still have short days at school They still don't. It's not like before where was five days of the same schedule. So anyway you could guarantee school. Most of the year is right right right and there wasn't extra days taken offer. It's really strange now. So even though with all this money they still do have some somewhat of a budget. I guess that limits their time at school A study indicated that THC might be present continuously even in non daily smokers at low levels even if the smoking occasions are separated by a week. Yeah I think there's so many variables like if you have a high metabolism that you know might be. You might be able to get away but we all know thirty days. I mean if you're smoking but I don't think that this study probably took an account. Niacin CRANBERRY JUICE. Lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of water. Yes yes you'd have to do that but yes. This isn't too surprising. The National Institute on Drug Abuse Released a solicitation for grant applications to fund studies investigating quote the effects of cannabis and cannabinoid exposure on the developing brain from pre and post natal development through young adulthood in humans and using animal models. Yes it has tested on animals as we should there is not a lot of. There's not a lot of solid evidence or studies on especially on developing prenatal babies. And we've talked a few times about our situation when we had our two year old so I think that stuff like this needs to be done and I'm glad to see this. I had to mention that as well too.

"NPR guys who were potentially going to be charged along the same lines as Greg Craig for having participated in a scheme in Ukraine involving the President's campaign chairman Paul Manafort Paul Manafort is in Jail Greg Craig was tried before for jury his was the first jury trial to end in acquittal for anything derived from the molar investigation now in the wake of Greg Craig being acquitted before a jury sorry Podesta and Weber say the Justice Department has also told them that they are not going to be charged at all we also tonight have some indication and although we haven't yet been able to confirm it with any court filings or any documents yet but we're getting reports from conservative media tonight that trump national security advisor Mike Flynn might have told the House intelligence committee that he's taking the fifth he's invoking his Fifth Amendment Rights and refusing to testify to the House Intelligence Committee despite them demanding manding that he do so it is remarkable for any witness to take the fifth before Congress. It's remarkable in its own right. It is particularly remarkable when that same witnesses right now awaiting awaiting sentencing on federal felony charges before a federal judge and tonight we have also been covering over the last few days this remarkable sort of under the radar story in which President Trump himself has been ordered by a New York judge to testify to give testimony in a trial. It's a personal personal injury case involving president trump's bodyguard who was involved in a physical altercation outside trump tower in two thousand fifteen during the presidential campaign. President trump is named as a defendant defendant in that case as of last night as we reported here. President trump had been ordered to testify in that trial. The president had been ordered to give videotaped testimony well today. There was a court hearing in that case. The judge decided to delay that trial until the first week in October as of right now. Though president trump's is testimony looks like it is still expected even if it is not expected literally tomorrow which is what could have happened at the judge not made that delay today so all this happening on the same day that the House proclaims impeachment proceedings. I have a feeling I'm not going to sleep tonight. We'll be right back. The I'm officially standing Lawrence O'Donnell's real estate. I apologize that does it for US tonight. "Using because of Amazon and being retail clerks most common job in most of the country even if we were to get rid of Donald Trump twenty twenty and I frankly expect him to be there and to beat him at at the ballot box and then we have to do the hard work of reversing many of the problems that got him elected in two thousand sixteen. If you had the choice between running against Donald Trump or running against Mike pence president I mean it's I doubt that Donald Trump is going to get removed by the impeachment process but today's been a weird day if you Andrea had the choice of running against Donald Trump president or mike pence president. Who Do you think you'd have an easier time. Beating I would be thrilled to be running against Mike Pence because that means that Donald Trump has been out of office offense for for some period of time that would require twenty Republican senators to have a change of heart. Which is you suggest? I don't see happening but if that were to happen. I'd be there celebrating celebrating alongside many other Americans entry and thank you for being here on this very very busy day. I look forward to having another opportunity to talk to you in this exact same place and I look forward to seeing the debate next month. Thanks Rachel thanks. We'll be right back. Stay with us so on the one hand. Democrats kratz launched impeachment proceedings against President Trump today a historic day as we have been covering this story is still evolving right now as I speak the basics. Are these whistle blower who works in the US intelligence community came forward with information about something related to president trump. We don't know because we don't know who the whistle blower is and we haven't seen the complaint but the whistle blower went through legal channels in a way that should have protected him or her from retaliation or from prosecution and that should have resulted in their complaint that information seven being conveyed to the Congress that didn't happen because the White House with an assist from the Justice Department nevertheless despite the law tried to block doc this whistle blowers complaint from being conveyed to Congress while tonight with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi proclaiming that impeachment proceedings are now underway against the president accident on this matter. That seems to be shaking loose. We have news that the whistle blower door has tried to make contact with the intelligence committees him or herself that the intelligence committees both want to hear testimony from that whistleblower by the end of the week we have information from open source reporting tonight from Politico New York Times. NBC See News and others that the White House is starting to cave on whether or not at least some version of the whistle blowers convince complaint will finally be conveyed to Congress. There's also so words from the president himself that some White House notes on a call between the president of the United States and the president of Ukraine may be released tomorrow whether or not people are going to trust White House notes on that call or whether or not that's going to be seen as a primary document remains to be seen but all of this stuff is shaking loose in this story continues to develop and while all of that has been happening today a whole bunch of other stuff has happened with regard to presidential scandals and indictments adjacent to two and related to the president and the Russia scandal today for example a judge in the Eastern District of Virginia vacated the conviction basically tossed out the conviction conviction of Mike Flynn's former business partner a man named Bijon Kion these young Kim was convicted in July jury convicted on charges of conspiracy and acting as a foreign agent when he trump national security advisor Mike Flynn took on a project for Turkey despite the jury's ruling today the the judge in this case today throughout the indictment citing insufficient evidence and so the Bijon Kion conviction today has essentially been wiped off the bucks folks fascinating. We also learned today that the US Justice Department has dropped was reported to be an ongoing investigation of Tony Podesta and Vin Weber after about two years running that investigation these were essentially lobbyists..

"In the oversight committee under Congressman Cummings. They're investigating a whole bunch of different alleged behaviors by the president any number of which could be impeachable including whether he may have endangered national security by mishandling security clearance applications including those for his children and the Intelligence Committee. They're they're also investigating a number of different allegations against the president including continuing questions about the president's involvement in the Russian election interference of two thousand sixteen at the Judiciary Committee undetermined number. They are already actively investigating the president's efforts to obstruct the law enforcement and counterintelligence investigation negation Russia's scandal. I mean those things are all underway already. In all of these six committees they all implicate potentially impeachable behavior by the president depending on what these ongoing investigation's turn up. We'll now today that Speaker Pelosi has made this historic announcement that impeachment proceedings are beginning against this president and she's made that announcement specifically in the context of an end with reference to these new allegations about the president and Ukraine the President basically admitting that he solicited foreign foreign help for his re-election effort from the country of Ukraine while are these six committees just supposed to look at matters related to the president's interactions with Ukraine or are these six committees supposed to forward to the judiciary committee evidence of any potentially impeachable conduct by the president that they have been investigating including on the subject of all all those other topics that I just mentioned things that they're already looking at if if they're supposed to do that that like let's say the oversight committee turns up behavior by the president with regard to the security clearances for Jared Kushner any vodka trump that actually actually rises to the level of high crimes and misdemeanors and the view of that committee if they turn that up are they supposed to forward that to the Judiciary Committee to for that also to be folded into these impeachment proceedings as interesting as I find say for example the Financial Services Committee investigating whether the President committed insurance fraud God when.

"Of great resources and training every single week. So you can head on over to our chic influence or page and check that out a solicitation to our content for today. Now this came about right? This whole concept for today's episode came about as I was going through the process of goal setting with my team. And the one thing that I noticed is that people were setting goals, but they had no idea how they were gonna make it a reality and people are just horrible at managing their time. And I've learned over the years that it does take a lot of practice and consistency and discipline in order to really get a system down that works for you. And I always say like don't expect perfection when it comes to execution of your goals, but don't ever change the goal. Change the way you get there. If it's not working, but don't ever downplay the goal don't ever rip those things off your vision board unless you literally say I do not want to accomplish accomplish that anymore. Leave it on there. It is going to happen. Sometimes we have to tweak in change and plot twists along the way. But it is totally possible. So what are some things that that helped me, you know, in this first aid as I can tell you that the amount of overwhelm sort of is is on a high. Right. It's by at a say on a scale one to ten a day. My overwhelmed factor is a ten. Everybody wants to set goals. Everybody wants to set up calls. Everybody wants to get started in their business in their products. And you know, and so yes, there's a lot to do in. I recognize that January is always a little bit more demanding. But I know that not all twelve months of the year are like that. And I understand that. So I have approached January with the mindset that I need to be. Berry berry cognizant of what is getting my time. What I'm saying? Yes, to what are the priorities that need to be done. You know, those income producing activities, and then what can wait until February or March when we have a little season of slowdown. All right. So that's really important. So we're gonna talk about some of the things that really help me. So I and foremost as you are sitting here as a business owner right now, if you want to be successful in your side hustle in your business that you would eventually like to be your fulltime income or for some of you you've already left your fulltime job in you're trying to build a business that isn't producing the income that is going to be self sustaining long term. And so you are at a position where you have a choice to make you can go through life winging it or you can sit down and say, I need to take control. I can't use the excuse. I'm bad at time management. I'm a procrastinator. I'm. Easily distracted. I'm a squirrel. You have to say I recognize my weaknesses, and I'm going to address them with a game plan. And I wanna give you tough love because I would want somebody to do that for me. I would want somebody to say Melanie, stop making excuses for why you can't be organized stop making excuses for why you can't reach these goals sit down and create a plan. So one of the things I have done and do every single Sunday in you hear this. I talk about my Sunday planning sessions, but on my calendar, I have on their a list of things that I am going to do. I've got my kids basketball, practices and games. I have doctors appointments listed in here. I have called that I have to be at and then I actually blocked out my business time. So I say to myself am I going to have to be in survival mode on Monday and Tuesday because I have a jam packed day of meetings. And maybe you're working at your. At another job during those times. So then I look at okay. What do I need to do on Monday and Tuesday to survive? I may have a block of the that might be a day where I get up at five AM, and I do my work. I you may see that. Sometimes it's, you know, a lunch hour twelve to one or it may be that Thursday and Friday when I'm not out my other fulltime job..

Pigskin certain cameras like it's it's he will be you will never be Ohio State of consistent basis. I don't think he will going. I got a question. So you're talking about like standard of college football coaching hell door thinks the standard for Michigan is beating Ohio State and Jim Harbaugh doing it. So that's not good enough. Let's say but say Nick Sabin goes undefeated this year next year. And then I'm done. I don't really accomplish what I want to accomplish. I'm done. I retire from coaching football. Who's the guy that replaces him urban layer? Do you think so? Yeah. Same coach like if Alabama can't sustain their success or Dallas waiting at one of the Dabo. Yeah. One of those held at Clemson gets. So good football. I dunno literally went, Air Sarah. dominance. Trinity on that program. They be living. Three. One seven seven against Louisville this year. I mean, they're just wanting to shit spree smack people in the face their quarterback is going to be so good in the NFL one day. Guys along Mason Rudolph. Hey, mason. Rudolph is the backup in Pittsburgh. So I know this backstory friggin argument who was getting better Baker based Rudolph Frank went. NFL that remains. Come on. I mean, technically Frank is. Right. Technically is right. I mean he played yet. In he's in line for to be in a position to start. So and he'll come into a way better situation than in the end the Browns winning at the Browns. They have four wins. Yeah. In two years before he got there. Pretty big success. It's a fair point of NFL teams guys. I came to the realization the other day. So I followed back into my gambling ways quite a bit because I'm ever fall out of it. For very brief stints in my time. Doors never seen a line. Yes. Loved and. Right about that. You're fucking right about that. Dude. I took plus fifty four against Bama, we cash that about his easiest these scrambled eggs. But I've been writing to colts actually, the past like four weeks they wanted to hottest teams football. I mean say which will about him play. And I think it's the AFC south, and it's present Jack toil. Don't care. I realize baby I realize shut the fuck up about seconds. You've got. You enter look go on to win five Super Bowls be like a seven time pro bowler, and you could not pay me money to hang out with that fucking nerd. Seems like one of the biggest losers on the face of the earth. Now, he's good quarterback. Don't get me wrong. Really good quarterback. He seems like an absolute. And I just I I would much rather. Sunday. I just heard him like Mike up for a second. Just a way Tara set. Could you feel that strongly against a guy who's just a nice guy? I don't understand see that's the problem. You are the problem with sports fans. Why the hell is that Frank? Invade the solo key to hang out with Andrew luck. No, frank. I would hate it. We'd be at a bar. I'd have a beer he'd have like felt sir water. We'd have nothing to talk about a seltzer is your door, your you can move conversation about pretty much anything whenever you get like your circuit breakers, get a little bit moist. I'm just telling you, I don't I'm out. I'm out on the guy or a great career. But I don't like what of all. At second call if you were drunk and you saw Andrew luck up. Are you would go rob is Willie? I think for me. Talking about someone..

"What coach what great active coach or even like someone? That's even retired would not want to coach that team Aaron Rodgers with three or four years of prime Rogers left. You know, he knows better coach out there. So you want Frank would you wanna coach that team? I don't know shit about coaching football. But yeah. Right. Not a motivate grown men. Yes. How would you motivate a grown, man? Frank. I've seen a grown, man. Satisfy cable. No, no, no, no, no, don't you deflect. You answer the question. How would I motivate in Aaron Rodgers? Just a a grown, man. No a bunch of linemen other than feed them stake other than feed them steak. Are you gonna motivate the offense of line? Honestly, I I don't know. I don't know what motivates offense lineman other than women and Kieran dip. So I mean, at least that I know the women beer in dip. Break. Here's a here's a sent all that real quick, boys. It's time to pull up your socks draft. Your cox. Let's get to work. And there you go. You got a group of motivated motivated Lima for you said that second part. I actually had no idea what you're saying. Did you not hear it? No, no. I heard it. But I was just like why is he saying this? That's what our head coach in college said throws coach. Yeah. Good. I mean, better coach analysis lacrosse coach literally tower. I got some I I actually. When it comes to motivating professional athletes. There's really no motivation that a coach can really do. Because at the end of the day coach can stand up there and give you some raw rough speech. And be like, yeah. Yeah. This is. Tonight. We're going to go and the blood of war will whatever whatever corny speed. You lose the locker room. Like, you do that. I mean, honestly, if try to give a row recipe to a guy that's been in the NFL for like sixteen years like he's everything. He's heard everything that you have to say like for you know, what? He doesn't he doesn't respect you as a person. There's nothing you gonna make you respect him. They did you hit it the only way to motivate professional athletes and get them to do you want is back. They if they actually respect you. Yes. And the only way that they're going to do what you want without arguing and just like respect your opinion thinking that. It's what's best for them. And that's the problem with the Packers. And it's so clear, dude. You can't have a winning team when people don't respect the coach. Do you think everyone under Rams respects McVeigh? Respect they Andy Reid. Yeah. Hundred percent. That's why they're winning like. Now will while took frigate took you a bad comments a couple more comments to get to the correct answer. Which was the crackdown. That's what I was getting to you can't people and give them raw speeches and expect him to go out there. And just oh, yeah. Coach said something really motivating today. I'm really going to do that. Like, I'm having your eventually got to what I was looking for today. You're not gonna listen to some fat ass who stuffing his face with cheese, Kurtz, that you know, has been king of mediocrity for fast, I fucking been there. So story about rice speeches, right? So when we were high school, we face weep Warrenville south which was the best high school by you guys are talking about obviously for the list like the best team in the state by far the best team in the state, and our coach was huge raw raw spinach. Even watch them. The last will be miracle when he goes out and gives a speech about the USSR that we have blown up. I forty five. Yeah. That was a coach instilling. Guys, go out there, literally lay it all out. There may chance to win at the end. Just this is probably the last game of your life. So play like it is. To an extent. But they I mean, they can't add skill to unskilled team that is greatly outmatched. I of course, I've rar speeches if they work, well if well place like you can do it every once in a while..

"And it's like twenty five bucks a month like finance it for for ten years. So it's really not that bad was going to come back to it. So number two phasing concert rejection at work helped you face like helped you rebound from rejection from a woman out of our in. What absolutely has. I'm still alive. Rich. I learned that rejection is a good thing. It really is. Because it makes it creatures strode. I this one while there's nothing to do for the rest of my like, you're I'm solicited right now, I'm supposed to be in sales next. I am a solicitor. That's what I'm doing right now. I have to win a job structure to listen to go into sales because eventually I'll be salesman, you know, it'll be completely different ball game. But it's like, I guess the best way to put it. It's just like, I don't even think about it. Someone says knowing go fuck myself, I literally just like start whistling and just walked next house. Join our for I've moved. Away from that just because it was kind of like our business model, but this year, it's so frequently that you just kinda get like, you know, you don't do it. It really doesn't do anything to you know, after I Europe insult fuck out of here aren't that use at I did I wouldn't say vitamin at first. But it's just like why didn't they just look at my face. And then just feel like, oh, I love this guy. I'll take the estimate. So it's like it does bring it down to earth. It really does. Because like like the Nola person. I'm just a normal looking do just wave Adam. And they had no problem telling me to go fuck myself after twenty seconds so rejection at the bar, though. Like, no, I I think it has helped me I this this this job. It's hard. Like, I was out in the fucking twenty degrees today like it was so cold out. And I am battling the winter setting appointments. Just like, this is awesome way. This'll be for the greater good. Character criminal three question. Has the door open? And it's like a smoking hot girl in your. Oh, wow. Utilize as as as it sounds. No, that's not I. Though, I set I set a lesbian today for the first time. How was? Because someone says why is that necessary? The first one ever say is the first, and here's the thing. I knock on the door. And then she her first name mcglaughlin because because there's an Email, and then when I got her her her spas and your husband's name is which husband's name how to spell it. And he's like, oh, yeah. My wife's name is. Ashley, I like. Oh, good for you. I didn't like it wasn't awkward at all. Good for you. While we're on the topic of. Let's talk about how the Packers are struggling. Thing that we haven't seen in a while. And the shoe's on the other foot with the bears back baby bears, Iraq, maybe like Aaron Rodgers actually missed a wide open. Devante Adams to bring the game within three and killed me and fantasy which I didn't appreciate also just like, wow. I've never seen him not make that pass before. And think he's. I personally think is like he doesn't wanna make the playoffs this year. Because if he does I mean McCarthy might stay. So he's just going to try to take it as much as they can this wide open receivers. Visit gets a political move by him. I think it is over that ball in the short term. They don't make the playoffs in the long-term. Here's the thing..

"Oh, everyone. Welcome to another episode of pros and Joe's I am Franken Inskeep ready to lead off this podcast. This is our Fudd standing by the second week in a row. I feel like EBay kinda got rid of that whole thing. I always seem randomly on like NBC or some shit. Unlike Sunday at one in the afternoon, just a terrible time slot outside like NFL football people. Just like all muscle cars, honest, don't understand what they're saying. Just quickly saying numbers. Raising my pedal and right than to be in debt like three hundred grand by the end of the thing. Yeah. They're just say with the current price of whatever's being auctioned off and then the next brains. Exactly. That's it. Nicole? Doesn't even make sense like. I understand. But like sometimes they'll go from like five hundred to like two thousand and like nobody wanted to two thousand. So why not? Thousand I if there's any interest, then you go to two thousand that's where we in the business, Alex in my business. Call sales Frank and call just being a sales. "There were a lot of teaching jobs that the door shut on. I can't reenter. So you can't teach. There's certain jobs I can't teach in because of a solicitation charge that will block you out of a lot of doors. So there's that and then. Then. Also, just just jobs in general. You know, I mean like because here's the cycle. It's like if you arrest a sex worker, she's going to have a charge on her record. So then when she goes to apply for another job, it's harder to get that job. Well, she's going to come back out here to get money because she needs to survive like it's ridiculous cycle. I know that you may have repeated that story several times. So like to you like you've kind of accepted it, and you were laughing at it. But I was like holding back tears because I just I can't like imagine being in that situation. I'm so sorry that ever happened to you. I mean, I I laugh about it because I have to create this barrier force yet like the truth is. Completely terrifying. Like, I don't wish that upon any human being ever. But you know, what happens, and it, and it happens, you know, any one of these girls if I can do anything to help a young transverse in or other sex workers this woman to not have that happen to them. I will do it. I don't care what the cost is. Because I don't want that to ever happen to another human being again. I'm not a piece of trash I mean, human being and it don't deserve to be treated that way. And breaking down a little. Deserve that. No one does..
