Why Did SoFi Stadium Prohibit Tailgating?!
"Look, James, this is stupid. I mean, I'm a Georgia bowl dog fan. We're in the, you know, this week we hopefully, you know, we're winning the national. But before we even get there, they're not even letting us tailgate. If you come to university of Georgia, go to TCE, the horned frog, anywhere, Texas. Look, what is this stupidity about not tailgating itself? This is just dumb. It should, the people who thought of the idea of not tailgating should be arrested. I don't I genuinely don't. I guess I can see, I don't really know the reasoning. We've tailgated for, however long football has been around. It's just the way you do things. And then you're just going to stop it on arguably the most important game in oh no, it is the most important game in college football. I just don't. Oh, it is. I mean, look, you got Modelo running commercials with fans out in the stands when it's blizzard conditions tailgating. Are you kidding me? That's like, I mean, outside of this game, the most, the heaviest games are rivalry games, right? Could you imagine if you stopped tailgating at a Michigan Ohio State game? A Georgia anybody game? I mean, one of the main reasons we have season tickets and we go to the same parking lot every time we set up our Blackstone, we get our food out there. We have our coolers. Everybody comes along. I mean, 92,000 people in office, a 150,000 in Ohio, state Michigan game. Yeah, I mean, what? I mean, is this Southern California going on the mug? I mean, what is this stupidity? This is an accident waiting to happen. And I'll

Investors are on watch for another interest rate hike coming at the next FOMC meeting next month and tavis McCourt institutional equity strategist at Raymond James associate says, if the fed sticks to its guns, this is going to be a very choppy trading year. Is the fed going to do what they say they're going to do kind of stay at 5% all year or are they going to do with the bond markets that they're going to do, which is pivot kind of second half of the year? And I think that really has a substantial impact on the economy in 24. If this fed stays at 5% all year, even as inflation comes down to 3%, we're likely going to have lower earnings in 24 than in 23. Mccart with us there on Bloomberg radio, but some people think the fed will be effective. Fast enough. And then lay off more rate hikes, which could be good news for investors. Joe Gilbert is portfolio manager at integrity asset management. We've just basically see inflation will come down. The fed will start raising rates as earnings adjustments will go down in earnings multiples will go up and we think that will lead to a strong equity performance. Meantime the jobs report coming out this coming Friday could help determine the size of the fed's interest rate hike. Keep a close eye on average hourly wages, economists say that likely went up 5% last month from a year ago. Oil also in the spotlight. Michael Gallagher says TikTok and its Chinese owner bike dance need to do something because since a lot of young men and women in America increasingly turn to TikTok to get news, what if they start censoring the news, right? What if they start tweaking the algorithm to determine what the CCP deems fit to print? That's incredibly dangerous. That's as if, in 1958, we allowed the KGB and pravda to buy The New York Times the Chicago Tribune and The Washington Post. That actually probably understates the threat. "Play it forward foundation, creating opportunities. Speaking of never say no. I'm transitioning here. Okay. The last time you were on this podcast was January 27th. So you were still at Fox and the rumblings were very strong that Troy was going to leave. And I threw a theory at you. And we're going to play the clip, Shelby, can you please roll that clip of Joe buck on the SI media podcast January 27th? Imagine next year, week one, four 25. I can already see the look on your face. Let's say it's about to come out. Let's say you're in SoFi at four 25 week one. You get on camera. Welcome to SoFi for the rams and Seahawks. I'm Joe buck and he's the Hall of Famer Tom Brady. Okay, well, there you go. If Tom Brady is standing there, there's zero chance Tom Brady is standing anywhere near me. I don't even think I've ever been in his prep maybe three times in my life, but that ain't happening. I feel like I'm on an apology. Why? You're not standing part of that was true. Brady's at Fox now. Oh, he is. Because he did a FIFA promo or a World Cup? You think he's walking away from $375 million? His ass will be in that book next year, don't worry. Really? You don't think so? You think he's gonna play? You think he's gonna play next year? I think he could play next year. Really? Yeah, I think he's the least of Tampa Bay's worries. Oh, I agree with that a 100%. I just think 46 years old. Sandy's definitely gonna play Tampa Bay. I'm not saying he's definitely gonna play. I have no idea. I haven't talked to Tom Brady since whenever we did a game of theirs last year. So I don't know Tom Brady, other than when I've spoken to him, couldn't be a better guy. But I think there's so much up in the air in his life right now for anybody to go, hey, he's 100% doing X, Y, or Z I think. So you think there's a chance he never calls an NFL game for Fox. Is there a chance? Yeah, I think there's a chance. I mean, who knows where his family life takes him? Who knows where if he plays one more year if he doesn't? I know there are people at Fox who are who would say there's a chance that he doesn't call a game there. And $375 million. He's going to walk away from it. You know, I just don't know. I think this is you trying not to apologize because my prediction was correct. I'm just looking for a little bit. Let me say that let me go back. Your prediction sucks. Your prediction has no, what do you mean? I predicted Tom Brady will go to Fox. Tom Brady's going to Fox. Let's go back to your scenario. It's four 25. I've been SoFi Stadium. And I'm saying hello everybody. I'm Joe Bach, and I'm here with the Hall of Famer. Tom Brady. Not one of those things is possible. I didn't know at the time Fox is going to be dumb enough to let you enjoy go to ESPN.

"Rate hikes and inflation and the impact the war might have on all of that We spoke with noto along with my colleague Matt Miller take a quick listen to that conversation SoFi has a history of living through tremendous cyclicality and volatility We started 2021 with a very different economy and backdrop for the year when we set our goals for the year We just reported our third consecutive quarter of record revenue growth up more than 50% We also had record member growth and product growth really a testament to our one stop shop strategy and our ability to meet our members needs across their entire financial lives and doing it even more efficiently with a full year profitability So yes the environment is very volatile Rates are going to increase That's all reflected in our outlook for 2022 And we're calling for over 1.5 billion in revenue and a $180 million of EBITDA and really strong growth in our member based and product based here in Q one in addition to the demand we have for our technology platform with Galileo So we're benefiting from sector trends We have to absolutely deal with the volatility of the cyclicality of rates and inflation and monetary policy but it's all part of the Norma SoFi Now obviously there are huge humanitarian concerns given what's happening with Russia's assault on Ukraine I know you're a veteran yourself and I'm curious what sort of unique perspective you bring to this about what this means for the world and for global business Absolutely try to see that people have to live in fear and now that that fear of threat of violence has become a reality and ultimately we have a responsibility as a country We have a responsibility as a nation to help those that can't help themselves Obviously the people of Ukraine are putting up a heck of a fight and but they're under armed and under rest relative to a power like the Soviet Russia the former Soviet Union And ultimately sanctions are the first step but inherently there will likely have to be a more actions down the road We have to ensure that they have the ability to be a sovereign nation and live a life of freedom relative to the suppression of the Russians Now I understand you do hold some crypto and SoFi obviously offers crypto services now What do you read into the kind of decoupling we've seen of Bitcoin from global equities and why that is indeed happening Yeah the trending cryptocurrency it's an unproven asset I want to make sure that's clear It's highly volatile and it's very risky We do offer it for our members to be able to buy 30 different cryptocurrencies We do provide that education and warning that they could lose all their money and recommend they only allocate a small percentage of their assets to it But it is an asset that is providing a unique value proposition for a variety of different constituencies And that's what's really driving the volatility The decoupling you're seeing could be driven by a number of different factors I really don't want to speculate on what's driving it but it is a new asset that people are using to accomplish different objectives And that has been what's driven the volatility We have been very smart about making sure we give people selection But we also give them the ability to do recurring investments in dollar cost averaging into something that is as volatile as it has been Well honestly the ability that SoFi users have to invest across platforms that I find most interesting I talk with my co anchor Paul Sweeney with your head of investment strategy Liz young on a regular basis and she sells the product like no other How much of a lift did you get from the Super Bowl and introducing new customers to the things that they can do on SoFi Yeah so the Super Bowl occurred in first quarter of 2022 which we haven't reported yet but a result yesterday saw a big benefit from having the National Football League association and the relationship with the rams and chargers in SoFi Stadium We benefited from having 12 home games at the stadium 5 of them were on national prime time television and were able to reach 22 million unique households on average in each one of those games So the ability to really reach that much of the United States helps drive brand awareness It helps us become a household brand name which then drives greater efficiency of all of our promotions and marketing And that's why we saw such an acceleration in our member growth That we saw in the quarter to a record of over 500,000 and an acceleration in the number of new products added at over 50% increase to 900,000 So if I CEO Anthony noto there you can catch the full interview at Bloomberg dot com.

there's nothing better as a player to excitement and it's also for the organization Bloomberg business of sports From Bloomberg radio This is the Bloomberg business of sports show where we explore the big money issues in the world of sports I'm Michael Barnes I'm scarlet fu And I'm Mike lynch Coming up today I'm feeling football That's right We're getting ready for Super Bowl 56 We have a special guest joining us today Jason gannon managing director of SoFi Stadium he'll break down the business of hosting that big game Straight ahead on the Bloomberg business of sports show but first let's look at some of the top stories of the week Beginning with the Super Bowl and oh my is gonna be a lot of gambling in there Almost 10% of Americans may put their money where their loyalties lie during this year's Super Bowl according to a gambling industry trade group an estimated 31.5 million Americans will place more than $7.6 billion in bets on pro footballs championship games car And even if they aren't loyal to either of the teams they might still put a wager on as well Isn't that part of the explanation for why every single NFL game is so high stakes because it makes it more interesting that you can bet on all these different random things that have nothing to do with whether you like the team or not Rock bets And some of those start right out of the shoot The opening coin toss will it be heads Will it be tails Will the rams win the costs over the rams lose the toss Well the opening kick-off make it into the end zone You can bet on that So there's everything We'll either team use all their time outs I mean it just keeps the interest going And of course legalized gambling has just been the fuel for this 30 states by kick-off 30 states plus the District of Columbia will have legalized gambling when this thing is kicked off Sunday Night at 6 30 Eastern Time And California I was just reading online sports betting has yet to be legalized So if you're watching the game at SoFi park you can't be betting on your phone No you get a call Vinny up on the phone Vinny is still in businessman and Los Angeles It is amazing though how much money changes And then the office pools I mean you have the office squares and the boxes Yeah you don't have to know diddly boo about football Just write your name in a box and there you are and there it is I felt bad because some of the colleagues here Bloomberg they said bar Are you doing the squares this year And I said I just don't have the time I wish I could And they all have this disappointed look on their faces like you're useless bar useless but apparently your reliable square buyer Yeah okay we'll go with reliable Another thing I was thinking of is the stock market has been pretty wobbly this year So I wonder if that will add fuel to Super Bowl wagers or gambling in general You had the NASDAQ fall as much as 15% at one point It's recouped some of that And I only bring this up because the retail investor led stampede into the stock market in 2020 and 2021 of course kept by that meme stock craze last January was in large part driven by the fact that there wasn't a lot of live sports to watch there wasn't anything to really gamble on people had money but they didn't really have anywhere to spend it So now that the stock market's not doing so well are they going to come back and plow it all into prop bets It's easy to understand And as you say it's basically just a game of chance I mean the coin toss right Yeah no skill there No skill Well opening kick-off make it into the end zone You know it's a coin toss to me Will the team goes all the time outs I probably say yes but I don't know So there is something for everyone there You don't have to know whose team has a greater pass rush or how many yards per catch each wide receiver has and factor all those analytics in You throw that out the window I mean the percentage increase is astronomical this year Barr point out that 7.6 billion will be bet That's up 78% over one year ago Byron Allen speaking of football You remember him he's the media mogul He is preparing a bid for the NFL's Denver Broncos car Yeah and if he wins he would become the first black majority owner of an NFL club at a time when the NFL is being rocked by accusations allegations that it is their systemic racism following Brian Flores's lawsuit One thing I found interesting was that Byron Allen says Roger Goodell the NFL commissioner and Robert Kraft of lynch's New England Patriots approached him in November of 2019 back then to ask him to consider buying an NFL club So this is something he's been talking about thinking about and I guess conversing with people about for a while Well the timing is perfect The two head coaches most recently hired a people coaches of color and now if Alan were to secure the Denver Broncos doesn't solve the problem but it certainly is a step in the right direction Yeah he needs to find a group of investors maybe he has the money on his own I don't know but we know that the Broncos will go for somewhere in the neighborhood of what $4 billion plus slinky Yeah it's a very very lucrative franchise out there and they're going to be a lot of people that are going to want to jump on board here But this is not going to be a one person purchase So this is going to have to be $4 billion A lot of Daenerys Man you talk about a profit I mean when the previous owners bought the team I think they paid what $28 and some SME green stamps And now they're going to get about $4 billion It would be the highest valuation of any protein sold I believe if they hit that 4 billion figure that's going to be amazing Up next on the show we will break down former Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores is discrimination lawsuit with the ghouls and stores sports law practice co chair and Columbia law professor Martin eidel plus stick around for our conversation with the managing director of SoFi stadium Jason ganon that straight ahead on Bloomberg business of sports I'm Michael Barr follow me on Twitter I'm scarlet fu I'm on Twitter.

"And to have all of these people who don't live in the community come into the community every single weekend? How did SoFi Stadium end up in Inglewood in the first place? So englewood has a long history of sports in the community, maybe the most iconic thing about englewood prior to SoFi Stadium coming along was the forum. The game ends. The Lakers have got where the showtime Lakers and the Los Angeles kings played for a long time, but then the Lakers left and the kings left and by 2011, englewood was functionally broke, and that's when mayor James butts was elected. When I left England, we had a three piece showtime Lakers. We had the kings of hockey. We the race track between 43,000 people a day, 6 days a week, and when I came back, functionally, all we had was the sizzler and the big note. Our blood rating was triple B minus at the time, which is one step above junk. We had $10 million in the bank and we had an $18 million structural deficit. So in 2011 by September October, we would have been bankrupt. Obviously not great when you're chatting a chain restaurant like a sizzler and Randy's donut, which while iconic in LA, probably want a little bit more than that as your main attractions. But James bots is a really interesting figure. He was englewood's second ever black police cadet, and then from there, he was a homicide detective and undercover officer. He led the S.W.A.T. team, and then he becomes the police chief of Santa Monica before returning to englewood and winning election as mayor. He also has an MBA. So when he's elected, he's got big plans for the city. Where I stand right now is going to be the side of what we hope will be an 80,000 seat stadium that will spill over into the most magnificent development here and there is going to be the stadium. It's time for new things. Aside from rams owner Stan Kroenke, nobody has more responsible for bringing SoFi Stadium to englewood than mayor James bots. I mean, he is, without a doubt, the biggest evangelist for that stadium. So the NFL had long wanted to move back to Los Angeles for obvious reasons it's a massive market and it was an untapped market and it didn't make any sense for America's biggest sport not to be there. And so mayor bots thought, look, we have a long history of catering to sports teams in this town. Why not put our hand up? Let's have sports again. Let's have concerts again. Let's have people coming to englewood. Let's make englewood a destination. So they put in the bid and they win the bid and they get the stadium built in englewood. It feels like being inside the matrix. This is truly the resurrection of the city of champions, city of champions part two. And because of that, the mayor will list off any number of things that he sees as a positive benefit, not just to englewood, but to the residents as a result of their relationship with SoFi Stadium. The NFL networks left Culver City, YouTube is operating in 6000 seat performing arts theater. We try to the LA filter money. You orchestra program. We have the girl scouts, the great Los Angeles. Are you tennis program at every visit park that the city subsidizes? So lower income families choose to learn tennis. There's only three megacities in this country that have had the number of events and teams that we have in 9 square miles. And at San Francisco, New York, the Los Angeles, but what took them a generation, we did less than 7 years. This is like a resurrection, the pride and the city is just off the charts. John, you took the time to actually go to Inglewood. Can you just paint as vivid a picture as you can of just what it was like for you to go there, park your car, walk down the street and find and meet people. Yeah, I wanted to get a sense of what was going on in englewood for myself. So I went there. And I talked to people on a game day about what their experiences are like living in the neighborhood when all these people are coming in from out of the area. I know the traffic was going to be bad, so I parked my car pretty far away from the stadium and I just walked it in like 15 or 20 minutes and then suddenly you're in the part of englewood that's right next to the stadium and aside from the stadium. It's a neighborhood, not unlike other neighborhoods in all of Los Angeles. Palm trees, the whole thing. And then out of nowhere, you see this giant edifice that looks like it was plunked down from a Star Trek movie. And it's super incongruous with the rest of the neighborhood and it obviously the architecture is radically different than what you would see for where somebody lives. And as I was walking down the street, a guy opens up his front door and he had a big bushy hairdo because it looked like it was early in the morning and maybe he had just woken up. He didn't have a shirt on. And he leans out and he shouts to somebody who had just parked their car. Hey, you can't park there. And I thought he was just aggravated by it, but he was just trying to be helpful. And it turns out his name is Josh. Every Sunday he's out there trying to be a good Samaritan, telling people, hey, you can't park there. They'll tell you. Okay, so parking is an issue we know that, but are there any benefits? Yeah, the parking thing, there's two sides to that damn because on the one hand, yes, it's an issue for the residents, on the other hand, if you have a parking space at your house somewhere for other cars to park, residents will rent that out to people coming in on game days, and that's actually going to happen for the Super Bowl where the Los Angeles Times reported that some spots could go for as much as $5000. I know people, Dan, in Inglewood, who live, you know, about a mile and a half or so from SoFi Stadium who think they can fit 5 cars into their backyard at a $1000 a pop. So you could do your math there, that would work out great for them, but this is still not really considering the overarching problem, which is the influx of people every single game day, and I know that some people listening to this will think, oh, that's just people in LA whining about traffic the way they always do. But that's not the case. Because the people of englewood are talking about how their lives are fundamentally altered on game days in ways that other LA residents, including myself, don't experience because we don't live near SoFi. You have to, like, literally, sometimes my husband get out here like, hold traffic and then we'll just ease up out. So this is Yolanda Johnson again. She's the one we heard from at the top of the piece who said the traffic and englewood is crazy as hell, and you know what? She's right. It is crazy as hell. Coming back in one night, I was coming from work that took me an hour just to get to my house. How far away is work? I work on like 15 minutes from here. So it was like an hour and I didn't want to park all the way around the corner back again and just leave my car there, so I just stayed just chilled out into the traffic died out. If you're in Inglewood on a Sunday, and you're a resident, you have to plan ahead of time. You have to say, okay, there's a game today. I have tasks a, B, and C to accomplish, am I doing it before the game? Am I waiting it out and doing it after? Whatever day the game falls on, that is a lost day for Inglewood residents. So along the same lines, John, people might be tempted to think that more traffic equals more business. More people come into your neighborhood, they come across your storefront. There's a higher chance they'll spend some money, right? But you discovered that it's more complicated than that. Yeah, so as I'm walking around, I stumbled on to blessed tropical Jamaican cuisine, which is a Jamaican restaurant. Also directly across the street from SoFi Stadium. And the co owner was inside, her name is Sandra Estrada, and we just started talking about how her business is doing. And.

"Well, that story is evolving here early in the week because the clips that I read up until this morning were that if you went online to buy tickets for that game and you checked out after buying your tickets and you had a zip code that was Northern California, they would refund your money and you don't get your tickets. So that got a lot of headlines. Now today I just Troy sent me something that said that that's not the case anymore and the 49er fans are supposed to overwhelm SoFi Stadium even more than we were there. Yeah, you say, you did that game. Give me like what I was never never Jimmy been in a home stadium and that stadium is a 100 out of 100. It's so good. But that day, you know, I talked to Kevin demoff, who's a good friend who's the club president, or whatever his exact title is, I don't know, but he's like, we're going to have our biggest crowd ever at the stadium. And halfway through, I'm like, I was thinking because half of San Francisco is sitting in here and it was a ton of red if the home team of a team that good has to go to silent count at the end of the game as a something's up. More than 50% niners fans at that game? I would say I would say 50 50. Wow. Give or take. Yeah. Now maybe it's 55, 45, but enough where it was like, wow, what is going on? Forty-niners scored touchdown. Place goes crazy. It was an odd sensation at the home stadium of a team that good. I have to say it's a viewer, just as a viewer with no dog in the fight. I hope it's like that again. I think that'll add some intrigue on Sunday. I agree. As a broadcaster, anytime, you know, we've talked before, if I can use crowd noise, I'm going to use it. And I'm not going to try and suppress it. I'm not going to try and fight it. I mean, I have to do my job, and I have to get in there and get out, but if no matter what happens, there's a reaction in that stadium, that makes it way more exciting for us. And I think makes it more exciting for the viewer at home. Yeah. I guess you can admit this. I mean, you could have had Brady Rogers and instead you get this. Is it a let down? I don't know if you want to answer that. No, I don't think it's best if you say it, you know. I don't want to get the 9 earned rams fans pissed at you, but no, my answer to that is we had that last year. And we had that, it would have been the same situation. Except with more fans and Lambo, again, I mean, not having a rooting interest in any of this. It's almost like you can't lose. Because I thought week 18 our week 18 game was one of the most exciting games we've done on a long time. And I think these two teams because they know each other so well, we'll play each other really well. And I think this is going to be an exciting game. Whoever it is, they point me toward it and I get there and do the game, but no, I'm not let down by this at all. All right, that's good. Brady Rogers, though, you know, you get that brings I think a little more of the country, the fringe fan, but there's no doubt..

"If you can find a way to get pressure on Mac. That's the reality. You're not on YouTube. Just hop on here and check this out real quick. It's really funny. That's the reality of getting pressure on Mac Jones. That happens and a throw a throw that looks what you can imagine happens. They're all looks like with that face. Not good. It's a duck going up into the air. All right, and this next point here, this is a good example of getting him off a spot. So they're gonna run play action, meaning they're gonna fake the run play action is just you're gonna fake run. That'll bring these linebackers up and it's gonna open up this crossing route that is wide open. And it's open for a couple of seconds. It's like plenty of time to get the ball out. But there's pressure. They're gonna blitz off the edge right here, and it's gonna force him to get off of his spot and step up. So in the time that he has to step up and then throw the safety is gonna be able to get over the top and make the play. If the pressure wasn't there, he doesn't have to step up and you can make an easy completion, but watch as I roll the clip, you'll see that if this forcing him to step up just a little bit in the pocket because of his blitz, right here, now he has to step up. Now he has to throw and now it's late. So just forcing him to have to be really athletic, which Mac Jones is forcing him to have to make those plays where he has to step up and get the ball out really quick and on point is going to lead to success, I think, for the charger. So, man, we always know that pressure on a quarterback does a lot of good things. We have to try to do that. They're going to try to run the ball right off the bat to establish so that they can do these play actions. And I will say after having watched just a little bit of this patriots film, just like they did with Tom Brady, they're gonna dink. They're gonna dink you all the way down the field on these short little passes, try to frustrate you and try to get you to come up so they can take a shot with a play action deep. So we have to have to be better against the run game this week. As kind of what we know needs to change here, but I think getting him off a spot like this will help us be really successful. All right, in this last one, this is an example of the jets getting a four man pressure, Mac stares down his receiver, which we all know, you've probably heard it a million times in a broadcast. You can't stare down where you're going. Because it allows everyone to flow to the ball. So what you'll see is they're going to try to get the ball out here to this tight end. This linebacker because Mac is staring it down and there's pressure, he knows the ball's getting out quick. He gets out undercuts it and almost is able to pick it off. So this is just showing you get pressure. If he stares down and receiver, it can easily turn into some interceptions and take aways for us. Go in the other way. So he's going to stare down stare down and then throw that line that linebacker because he's looking where he's going. He's able to move with his eyes and get underneath the ball. Because there's pressure he just has to get it out quick. I know we can force Mac Jones into some bad mistakes. If Joey boss is able to get his hands on Mac Jones, a couple of times early in this game. And we were able to Lamar Jackson through picks were able to get some of these good quarterbacks to throw interceptions against us. And these guys are veterans and a rookie who looks down as receiver and does all this stuff. Hopefully this is a big turnover game for us. Most games have been so far. I mean, we've not, we've not turned the ball over. We've done a great job of turning the ball over. It's just stopping that running game. And I think we're going to have to do it real quick here to start the patriot game. Right. And capitalizing on those turnovers. Yeah. Awesome. All right, we'll coach, hey, thanks for taking a look at our upcoming opponent. And can't wait to can't wait to see what happens this next upcoming game. All right, folks well, that's pretty much it here for this episode of the charge of chat. Next on the agenda is going to be me waking up at the crack at G whiz on Sunday morning and getting my fat butt on a plane and going to hang out with Josh and Landon over at the stadium. I should be getting into the stadium about ten 30, maybe a little after that. And I'm going to be ready for game day folks. I'm going to be my full getup for that too. I'm going to be in my Halloween costume. I don't want to give it away. I want you guys to see it and experience it as it is. Are you wearing it on the plane? Most of it, yeah. Yes. I don't see any reason why not to. I mean, it's all so comfortable clothes for the most part. And the couple other accoutrements. So I think yeah, I think for the most part, that'll be my airplane attire, but awesome. And also, in case you didn't hear thunder alleys doing trick or treating. They have the bolt Thor, Thorpe. I believe he's giving away like trading cards and people are gonna have candy. It's gonna be a good time. Yeah, I can't remember the last time that there's been a football game on Sunday. Or Halloween, Halloween, yeah. Yeah. So it's a football game on Sunday. Who was the last time there was a football game on Sunday? I don't remember. Spooky spooky spooky game folks. Again, I can't believe I'm going to this, but Landon, Josh, hold on. It's going to be a bumpy ride. All right, well, again, that's going to do it for us here at charger chat, folks. Don't forget to bolt up, 'cause we're ready for any squad, any place. But it doesn't. Put it at that, but it did dump but it did not charge the chat. Kill everybody. I feel very left out when you guys do that. We're sink. Why don't you go get a chicken lesson? Dude, come sing with us. I'm not a singer. I suck. Just come, come along for the ride. "They got overwhelmed by bears fans and Vegas. So isn't that a shame? Oh boy. Who's house? Not yours. Not get out there. Stop theirs. Yeah, I'm trying to remember there was a touchdown that I was so hyped for. I screamed as loud as I could. And like my vision started to get like blurry. And I had like a surreal moment like an out of body experience like, wow, dude, like you need to chill out for a second at all. Yeah, I think there's a video that mat gotta put that shot color on wool dog. I gotta know when to stop, but you can't help it, man. It was such an emotional game because you were just so invested in what would happen and you always trusted that Herbert was gonna take care of business. And obviously he did. Those four conversions. I mean, I think I talked to Kyle about it. I had a loss for words. Yeah. I lost the power of speech. It was just you can't help but think about all the times in years past. I think we've gone from I don't know the stats. So you folks out there look this up and correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that we've gone for more fourth down conversions in this season than the Chargers have possibly in the entirety of their existence because we would have seasons were number one, we wouldn't go for fourth down, and number two, we've got one for fourth down on our own 20 yard line. With more than one yard Kyle question. And his coaching. Yeah. Fourth inches or fourth and one that we would ever go for a fourth in fourth down conversion, not in our own territory, and I can't believe it. So I'm really curious how many fourth done conversions we've attempted and completed in the past history of the Chargers. But man, just what an awesome game to be at and what a great experience. I mean, obviously there's only been a handful of games that SoFi Stadium. So to be at that game with a win and just see the stadium, you know, obviously change. You know, you see the Oculus change to the we win business and everybody's just cheering and you got the guys on the field and it was amazing. I can't express that. The only way it would have been better is if you guys were there to share it. Sounds like we had some good replacements, though. You had some honestly the company of Albert and Matt were just unmatched and I'm so glad that I got to spend it with them. I think got to go to the big pro shop also, which I mean, there was just no good time. If we were up by like two or three scores, I might have moseyed on over there just to go check it out like mid game, but it was such a tight game that you couldn't get up from your seat for very long fear of missing something. So we went over to the shop afterwards and that was a bad move. Everybody was going into that approach. After a couple months, I'm sure they made thousands, if not more. Millions. But yeah, there's a lot of cool swag in there. So next time you guys go, I would make it a point to go to that other pro shop. It's on the other side of where our seats are in down one level. So done. And then it's a top it all off, we went to Matt's car and he gave me these box of cookies that had a freaking faces on them. I mean ace design. There's so it's so good. It is such a amazing thing. So Matt's outed my head taste. It was no, and that's why it's like artiste. Like it was like clearly clear. Holy shit. Absolutely amazing that she would take the time out of her day to paint our stupid faces on the edible cookie that was promptly consumed. So we appreciate you. I can't thank you enough for that. You guys, you made it such a memorable game. Thank you guys so much. And it was so memorable that our own and obviously Justin Herbert getting nominated for the FedEx air, player of the week. We all know what bold fam is doing right now, right? Go vote right now. He's competing against Tom Brady right now, but Tom Brady played the dolphins defense. So we just played one of the better defenses in the league. And what he did, how he came back, I was scored, go vote him in to FedEx player of the week air edition. I couldn't believe that Austin Eckler wasn't nominated for the ground. Austin Eckler had a game, dude. I can't believe that he got snubbed, getting a big part of his game was receiving stuff too. Sure. That must have been how they justified not putting him on there because it's just the ground stuff. Maybe. Maybe. Who care? Care. Austin Eckler. Your logic to be the FX ground player of the week. But yes, folks, go check it out, go vote for Justin Herbert vote refresh. We need to get our boy in that FedEx air player of the week. And you know what else you got to do, folks? It's that time of year. Autumn is in the air. The pumpkins are in the patch. All right, folks and looking at basically some of the tweets and updates and news that have happened from this previous game. We all saw our boy O'Day ibushi go down and wasn't sure what the issue was. Turns out, torn ACL deck gamut. Yeah, it's going to need surgery done for the season. He's playing at such a freaking high level, too. Right. He was doing so well. The offense was humming with him there and to see him go down that's just sucks. Yeah. Yeah, it's a bummer for him. He was only didn't we bring him on a one year because on a one year deal? I went from Detroit. I would have no problem extending him. Zero issues with me. Just hard man. A guy in the middle of his career now on an ACL tear. He's gonna have to rehab that and come back. The guy is just he's gonna be on another one year deal. You know, like, that's probably the bottom line. Right. And how in mind if that's a friendly deal for the Chargers? Absolutely. Super high level, so what the wait and see how all that transpires. And we got kind of lucky on that schofield signing that kind of worked out pretty well to have him be able to pluck him in because he played a lot Sunday. Yeah, and it's interesting because Brandon heim is like, I thought he had a good preseason. Everyone, there's a lot of good talk about him in the camp. And then he's been like a healthy scratch, the last few weeks. Not even on the squad and they bring in scofield. But somehow.

"100% agree. Yeah, but change doesn't happen overnight. It takes time and we are at least trending in the right direction. So you gotta love to see it. The one area that we are not trending in the right direction. I can't, God. It's these freaking penalty yards. I can't get over it. I'm looking at we had equal amount of penalties against the Raiders, 7 on 7, but we had a 105 pounds. Well, there was that one. Samuel penalty. You know, it was like, that's the difference. Yeah. That was a big one. The Raiders were desperate. Every series they were just taking big hawks to rugs 'cause he's so dang fast. And that's just, I don't know, it's kind of just a part of getting up big as other teams are going to take big chances. What kind of screwed there? The one thing you can look at though is each week they've gone down. We didn't have any procedure penalties this game, which is so learning and what I'm effort stuff. Joey got freaking pissed off because he most definitely got held that were almost into the game. It was bad. And that was 15 of those. 45 of those was one penalty against the sante Samuel. So it's like a lot and then the one thing your face masks in a horse call is to grab them by the front. They didn't call a horse caller. Exactly. But even it wasn't a horse caller because it was in the first cars back. And nothing. Do you take away almost you could take away three penalties and 70 yards worth of those penalty yards, but I don't care if we won the game. I don't care if it is what it is, but I'm just saying, there was no illegal illegal shifts, and there was no illegal receivers downfield. Which is those are just stupid dumb bone right places. We wouldn't have learned. We've learned and they've made adjustments. We have learned and we have grown. Yeah, we almost doubled the penalty yards, but you know, we must be doubled. We doubled, well, we almost are rushing yards. Yeah. They're 48 rushing yards to our a 168. There are a 165 passing yards to our 212 in our 25 first downs to their 13 almost double one in the first going to say only one in that first half was so like it was the jaw dropping. It was just form of defense. What is this? We talked about this all the time. It's like each week, like we were talking about this run defense, not being good. And what we did this week, that was part of the game plan. I just feel like Stanley really is game planning for each individual thing. So you might look a little different every week. So I think we're just getting used to and that's okay. Yeah, that is okay. That is okay. And you know what else is okay, folks. Me, I'm all right. Thank you for asking. We here at the charger chat have a very special deal this week. Yeah. Everybody. Hit hit the button. Where's my I brush my soundboard. I demanded a sound board. Folks, this week, the plan is for me to attend this next game against the Cleveland Browns and that plan is still happening. However, my other two co hosts up here will not be joining me, so that means wait, wait, so what does that mean? Do you have that means? I've got not one. But two extra tickets, saying with your truly. And parking pass. What are you gonna do with those at them? Well, seeing as they're really not my tickets to give away. I figured we would have ourselves a little contest here. Folks. I am looking for I am looking for some dates. I am looking for a couple of folks. A couple of charts chat fans specifically to come with me to this game against the Cleveland Browns sitting in section three O 7. 7 is ten. That's right. To attend this game with me. So we were talking about it trying to come up with an idea of what it is that we could do. How could we get, how could we get the right fan to tag the tag 12 people, we share every post we've ever tweeted and like all of our video? No. None of that, folks. We are not asking for any firstborn childs or any prima doctor rights. We have enough. We have plenty. We are looking for you to give us a pitch. Just let us know why you think. You should be the one to come to the stadium SoFi Stadium against the Cleveland Browns sit next to yours truly, for the Cleveland Brown game. So tag us on our show post. We put up a post every time we upload our show on Twitter and on Instagram. So comment on that post, why you think you should attend that game and my boys? Since they can't come to the game, they're going to be their judges. We're going to think we're going to pick the answer the best us. So he's at the game with us. Yeah, exactly. He took the words right out of my mouth. And so literally took the words out of his mouth. Stole them, actually. So again, just there's no hashtag nothing crazy like that. Just comment on the show post, either on Twitter or Instagram. Why you think you should come to the game with wool dog and my boys here will pick. We've got two tickets and a parking pass. So if you are in New York, New York, I mean, if you can find a way to get your happy ass to the game, you got to be able to get your happy ass through the game, okay? We're not flying anybody out. We're not up in hotels. We just use the you have to use them. You can't pass them off, nothing. You know, selling. If you say in your pitch that you're selling these tickets, if I end up at that game by myself or sitting next to two knuckleheads that I don't know who they are too Brown fans, we will find you. We have a certain we have a very specific set of skills to deal with people like. And I will say quick, quick stipulation. Yes. Going into effect in LA county, you have to go to the game. You have to have a negative COVID test within 72 hours of the game. Correct. Or you have to have that proof of full vaccination. So correct. Both of your shots, you have to have those to go to the game now. So there's no way for you to be able to do that. It sucks, but don't enter. Yeah. It sucks. But that's what LA county now is mandating to go to the game. Starting this Sunday. So yeah, so there's a lot of stipulations to go to this game. Again, hopefully you're living within the area or you have to be able to get yourself to the game. If you're flying in from out of town, put yourself up in a hotel, have the negative COVID test or proof of vaccination, double vaccination, you got to have your full vaccination status. And again, just leave a comment in our show post and let us know why.

"He wants to be pretty badly. He cares about that kind of stuff. I assure you. This is a massive game. It's a big game. Maybe of the entire regular season. It's going to be an incredible football game. The media coverage is going to be unbelievable. I can not wait to watch. That's why I dedicated so much time to it. It's going to be incredible. The second thing I can't wait to see during NFL week four is the Arizona Cardinals at the LA rams. SoFi Stadium is beautiful. Matthew Stafford is fun to watch, but both teams are undefeated. And here is the narrative I am excited for. It's an NFC west division battle. And we know the rams are great. We know the LA rams are maybe I've argued they're the best team in the NFL. Aaron Donald Jalen Ramsey Matthew Stafford John McVeigh stars everywhere Cooper Cup, but what I'm excited to watch is Arizona. How good are the Arizona Cardinals? This is a test for them. How good really are they? I'm skeptical. I've played some good football they should have lost to Minnesota, Minnesota botched the game when he feel goal. It's a prove a game for Arizona. Let's see it. How good are you guys? The fan base is yelling at me. We're incredible. Okay..

"In Matthew Stafford's debut. Yes, and we have our first type own up the gut as I see here, unedited. This game. When it was T announced not it was announced, so I don't know if that's a problem on the website, but a problem for me website not A mistake. Okay, So the editors have taken care of things. I did not alright. We go past that. I was so tired as we all work the Bears in prime time again. How many bear games last year? Did they Boris to tears Monday night? Sunday night? Thursday night? It never ended. The Bears kept being put in front of us. So what happens the day? Andy Dalton is a starting quarterback, and we get them on the opening Sunday night. You want to talk about four hour game Maria to stay up last night. We are asleep at halftime. Sunday night First game sold out for Sofi Stadium with a crowd on TV that might play well.
