Sean Snyder, High Stakes Mixed-Game Beast, on Pots Won and Lost

"I have questions about pods one and lost if any of those. Come to mind like any. We talk about pots. One any significant thoughts come to mind. I'm in the biggest spot. I ever want of course is going to be significant in my head. It was It was an element. Is the seven as this. Is not the best podcasts gas because none of the interesting hands are going to be games that anyone plays but yeah it was Just one hundred twenty thousand dollar pot against them like a bazillion time bracelet winner. He was kind of. I mean that was the beginning of the game too but he was really a beginner in the game he had a hit just started splashing very heavily in the stars. Four hundred and eight hundred eight intend game. Whatever happened to be. But we're playing two hundred four hundred element this seven at commerce a lot and i had been getting relatively good at it in. He was not good at it yet. He got it in as bad as anyone's ever gotten it against me to be honest To which is not something you do after you. Five all in for lines. Two rounds of betting so i had a hand that against him. I was ecstatic. It in but against any other person you would be shitting. Your pants. Provide you might. Actually i would ever better good player might have been able to fold the hand against someone else but yeah i. I only ran at once at the time and he did not hit his car. Draw and one hundred twenty thousand dollars for mine whole goes. I think what he started talking about. One hundred twenty k. potted. It doesn't matter the game. Your interests is pete. It's it's really rare. That like my blood gets pumping. Like even though i was certain i had the best hand like i was that. That's a lot of money. And i think we're playing Is again like a very short handed. Game six hundred twelve hundred limit plus the two hundred four hundred no limit. I was stuck about sixty thousand time which it wasn't the most i've ever been stuck stuck. Sixty thousand had another sixty thousand in front of man. Suddenly it was all in. So i mean i was. I was one cooler away or one babbio away from being a hundred twenty thousand yet you were out of that size and it just gets you exactly basically i mean. It's gotta be good feeling getting gray. The i didn't even win in for that. And maybe five fifteen twenty thousand something like that. It was cool to win a very very large pot. sars puzzle lost i. I've played a ton same game. No limited to seven tons of pots in the eighty thousand range won and lost. None really stick out as particularly terrible oldham lots of pots. Fifteen twenty maybe thirty thousand. No memorable ones really. I just. I have a terrible memory when it comes to like large pots Kinda wants the point. Once they get to the point where very large. I feel like no one really had that interesting of a decision for the most part at least though i'm more about the old either funny hands or financy hands where i think i played them. Well

"Job to save the owner from himself. Although on this non saying with reporters votes that were provided are are the responsibility of the pr team that surrounds him now. I've been told he doesn't much listen to the advice. He's given which is why they've seemingly been forever. You know so off kilter instinctually when it comes to public relations you know. I had somebody. And i shared this with you a couple of years ago and with With those of you. That are listening on the podcast specifically mentioning this. Because i had somebody tell me a few years ago that back in twenty eighteen or twenty nineteen That the team had conducted its own internal poll Which included some approval poll questions to the questions. Which had to do with snyder. And with bruce allen and they went something like this. Do you approve of the job. The dan snyder is doing his own or do you approve of the job. That bruce allen's doing his team president and they through those questions in because they thought the results would be decent and that they could go out and respond to media complaints about the team with the results of the poll but the results weren't very good like the approval rating for dan was like five percent. Roughly and for bruce almost the same so obviously that poll got completely shut down in terms of the dissemination of the of the results. They couldn't use the results. But i remember being told at the time that they were surprised internally with the results on dan and bruce and i'm just like recently clueless but you know again believable but tommy. Here's the thing you know for most people that seems incredible that they haven't ever had a grasp on what the fan base what the customers think of him in the team. You know. Even the poll results were probably in their own mind in that moment. Chalked up to some sort of polling error. You know oh well. That's an error Will you okay. Plus plus or minus ten percent still puts you at a bad number. But this is something that we've been talking about for years that he's never had a grasp on reality. You know even in a sweet looking out to see his stadium. Twenty percent full eighty percent empty sometimes taken over by opposing fans. You know having the poultry television ratings for some reason he's always been able to rationalize it as being somebody else's fault you know and that the fans of the team don't blame him It's always been that. They've blamed somebody else. And i'll tell you what probably emboldened him a little bit during that happy thanksgiving day introductory of of Ron rivera was the hashtag fire. Bruce you know Sentiment in campaign because that really was created this incredible life of its own and it was all about bruce so he thought it was all about bruce. I i got go ahead. Go ahead if something. I don't quite understand though about this. Not being a suspension. How do you explain. Why snyder has gone why. They've got out of their way to say in the announcement that snyder's to step.

NFL Bans Dwight Schar From Future Ownership Interest in Any NFL Team

"Minority owners coming in at some point, but he is the he is the sole owner after buying back the minority shares from Dwight Schar, Fred Smith and Bob Rothman. And what was a very contentious uh, I think And this is that I don't know if it's been publicly put out like this, But I think it was a takeover attempt by the minority owners who were looking for a greater evaluation on on their sale of their minority piece, and all of this negativity started to pop up. In the Washington Post started to pop up and and social media. These accusations were thrown out there, all of which, incidentally, Dan Snyder has claimed responsibility for even though he was not directly implicated in any of those things. Um, And the news today is twofold. One that Daniel Snyder is it was fined $10 million. At least the Washington football team was fined $10 million. The clarity on that is that $10 million will go to charities, which which Tania, his wife and Dan will choose. So it's a $10 million fine, but it'll all go to an important cause. The other thing. That I think is not insignificant in this is that Dang Dwight Schar, who was one of those minority owners, and a lot of people believed was involved in the smear campaign on on Daniel Snyder has been banned for life. From the NFL. So, uh, while we while we want to vilified, um some of the things that went on inside the Washington organization, the the campaign It was put out to embarrass and try to force. Mr Snyder to Snell also came to light and again, I'll read it, I'll say it again. Dwight Schar, who was a minority owner, has been banned for life from the National Football League. Take that of what you will. Um, but that's not the story. So a lot of people there's some misconceptions out

What is the Role of Hope in Poker?

"Got a mindset question in the i forty this year because it was in an email is really long email. I'm not gonna read all of it but you've already read it tricia but the gist of it was really The thomas who who sent an email in so shouts thomas thing sending the same but basically wanted us to discuss what is the role of hope whilst playing poker That is a juicy question. And i know he had talked about it. And he said you know it's essential to surviving tougher world conditions. But it could be very destructive in the poker world. And when i read it. I thought this is a really interesting topic. Because i think the way we use words and language is in everyday. Life is different than what we use it from a psychological standpoint and psychological studies right. So i wanted to talk about from a psychological point how we see hope and kind of three ways. I guess we could categorize thoughts and made a few notes on the so. If i'm looking guys that are watching the video and gals he'll dot y so I thought about the types of thoughts that we might have and we could be fantasizing. And that's where it's you know like pure fun and entertainment. And i think this could be one of the areas where thomas might be thinking like that would be destructive in poker. I think even had An example you know where you're playing. I'm paraphrasing this. Because it's been a while since the email but you're playing and maybe you're you're hoping like texture gonna win the hand ray. You're just oh please fold please fold. Please fold right or right. I think that could we could get between fantasizing or dwelling which dwelling us where we hyper focused on the bad things. That could happen to us right to me. Those are different constructs than hope and how From a psychological standpoint is exciting thoughts for the future while acknowledging the obstacles that might lie ahead and so if we use hopeful thinking than we're actually going to be relying on plans and actions so we want to be active not passive so to me. If i'm you know. And i get in these spots to sometimes where i'm like. Please fold please please. Home or conversely. Sometimes it's like please call. Please call please call right. So it's not always negative but i feel like that's a little bit different from the hope construct if we're looking at hope the main researchers on hope our guy name Shane lopez and another guy named charles snyder. And they've done a lot of research on hope and basically i'll boil down because they say slightly different things Lopez says that. If you want to be hopeful you need a goal you need agency and you need pathways okay. So the goal is like what is it that you're most excited about right. That travel agency is the belief that you can actually make something happened in the situation and pathways would be multiple ways like plan so plan z to actually get there so i think when it becomes destructive would be where we're lacking something here right so maybe we're not clear on the goal or perhaps we don't have self confidence we're lacking in self belief or more importantly perhaps we don't have plans a z. Perhaps we only have planned a please. God fold

Springsteen's Back on Broadway, but Not Everyone's Happy

"The boss is helping bring back the lights of Broadway after being shut down for more than a year because of the pandemic, New York's theater district reopened with Bruce Springsteen on stage and NPR's Gile Snyder reports, Springsteen fans were ready. Fans lined up outside the ST James Theatre to see Bruce Springsteen kick off a 30 performance update of his solo show from 2017. Eastern Jordan was among them. It means a lot because it's history and people are going to get back to Broadway, people will come back to New York City and This is my city, and I'm thrilled that Bruce has decided to lead the charge back to Broadway. The Springsteen concert was the first show on a Broadway stage and 471 days, the longest shutdown in Broadway history. Other major productions are set to start up again in September, including Hamilton Wicked and The Lion King. The Springsteen Show did attract protesters angry that only people who have had an FDA or W H O approved vaccine were allowed to attend. Trial. Snyder NPR

Facebook, Instagram to Hide "Likes"

"And the listeners. It's brett molina. Welcome back to talking tech co host. Mike snyder is off today. So if you're a user of facebook or instagram you have a new option. You can choose to hide. Likes on your posts. The post of other people so after testing two of the world's most popular social media apps which have combined four billion users will start letting its users decide whether they want to hide the number of likes on their posts. They can also hide the number of likes on other user's posts or if they just enjoy facebook and instagram. The way it is they can leave it alone and leave all the likes. They want you can also do this on a per post basis so if instead of a universal switch that turns off all the lights on your posts you can do it on a per post basis. So if there's a post that you put up and you feel like like aren't appropriate. You can turn it off specifically for that and you can do all that within the settings menus of both facebook and instagram. My colleague terry collins wrote about this and you can read his story on tech dot. Usa today dot com. He heard from adam mosseri. Who is the head of facebook and instagram. And he talked about how during testing The a lot of users that were involved in this was pretty polarizing on the one hand you had people who enjoyed it because it took the pressure off you know. There's that social comparison where you see your posts in wanna see if it's getting as much likes as your friends or things like that and having those likes turned off of that pressure

Amazon to Buy MGM in $8.45 Billion Deal

"Listeners. It's brett molina. Welcome back to talking tech co. Mike snyder is off today. So how's this for a summer. Movie blockbuster amazon confirmed on wednesday that it will acquire movie studio. Mgm in a deal that's valued at eight point. Four five billion dollars in a statement amazon said they will help preserve. mgm's heritage a films which includes more than four thousand titles including a lot of names. That i'm sure many of you are familiar with james bond. The magnificent seven raging bull rocky legally blonde a lot of very popular very well known films. Mgm also owned several popular tv shows including the handmaid's tale which is currently in the middle of its fourth season on hulu. The deal is still subject to regulatory approval amazon. Didn't say when they expect to steal to close and when they would officially own mgm but clearly. This is a pretty significant step on several factors it highlights a lot of consolidation that we're noticing in the streaming market These there are a lot of these Different services out there and it's getting very competitive and we're seeing a lot of consolidation here. One example of this is a t and t. They announced that deal earlier this month to combine its media business with discovery so that brings together stuff like. Hbo max and then cnn tbs tnt with discovery networks like food network hdtv now if you are a subscriber to amazon. This is an interesting proposition because now if you have a subscription to prime video you have this new collection of movies and tv shows the you can draw from if you subscribe to other services. I don't know exactly which. Mgm movies are available in one which services. But it's possible. Maybe some of those movies. We'll transition

Surprisingly though i've talked to many times over the years never in this extended format so. I am thrilled. thrilled thrilled. That zack snyder. Yes agreed to chat four about forty five minutes with me about all aspects of his career. This is for the snyder. Heads out there. This is going to be a conversation. You are going to relish enjoy. i guarantee it. He has the new film army of the dead. Which is out on netflix. Right now and it gives you all zack snyder. Nece you could possibly imagine. And more he of course made his film debut directing azzam be filmed the great dawn of the dead and he has returned to the genre with a much different kind of a take a very clever conceit about a basically a walled off vegas wherein a group of folks to go in and extract some money before. It's all newt to hell smart premise. Very escape from new york vibes. We talk about that. In fact and it's led by the great dave batista and it's available for you right now on netflix. But this conversation goes into a lot a of different areas that you're going to be very interested in of course there's all the superhero stuff and we go into the. Tease in the business of we talk about the dream. Zack snyder superhero movie. The dream dc superhero story. He which he wants to tell one day and that really got me excited. We talk about star wars. Zack snyder all of us was influenced so much. My star wars about the star wars film. That's snyder in fact tried to make years ago. We talk about that. Google vs. Roku Over the YouTube TV App

"Either listeners. It's brett molina here. Welcome back to talking tech by co host. Mike snyder is off today now. I thought one of the benefits of switching from cable to streaming was. We'd avoid a lot of these carriage deals you're about you know the case where you see an ad maybe for your carrier from channel saying you're gonna lose this channel by the end of the month. Let your cable provider no familiar with all that messaging will it seems like that kind of stuff has carried over now into the streaming world and the latest example of this is roku versus google roku has warned users of its devices who are also subscribes to youtube tv that they might lose access to the app citing quote unfair terms and quote from google according to a copy of the email that was obtained by usa today which you can read about tech usa today dot com the company behind the popular media streaming players told users that recent oceans with google to continue to carry youtube tv broke down because roku cannot accept what they call google's terms as we believe they could harm our users The email also says it roku is committed to reaching a deal so that they can keep youtube tv on the players. Now of course. Google has responded to this day in in their statement. They say they're disappointed that they chose that roku has chosen to make these kind of claims while they continue to go and that they are trying the best they can to offer a deal that benefits the viewers of tv as well as everyone that owns a roku Now this isn't the first time we've heard with roku hosting other apps as you recall when hbo max launched in may twenty twenty. It wasn't on the platform for quite a while. I think it was several months. Wasn't until december of that year ahead of the

"Interested in the pick of who survive. Cf cyborg you have the aquaman female era you have slash. Who's like who wouldn't is because you have put come Last point to come back in time because that batman v superman. That's the suit he popped up in. And then you have joker slade yup and man in harley quinn which is cool like dat. She's dead harlequin wasn't a no she was dead does he said because he. Because that's how bad got him was. He said something about harvey e says something about the boy wonder. And then because joker does kill robin. And i think there was a comment about harley. Yeah and that because he said something about harley that that's so much like the video game injustice in the video game lowest. The joker killed lois. Lane and batman or superman came in killed the joker. And that's what like and they became this in when he's dead. He became this totalitarian like evil. God but. I don't think that's the story that zack snyder's telling him what i've heard bruce wayne and his story. Bruce wayne got lois lane. Prego and notice. Ma'am freaking losses. Notice that the end of the movie when they're moving back to marquess. She's supposedly carrying a basket. That looks like a little. And you hear bruce. Say congratulations as to. So when they do then. I i'm assuming but it doesn't make sense because in this one. They really show her morning more than in the other one because in eighties. Maybe it was like a. I don't want to ban on there but or like a like a grieving sex or something but it was a drunken night that they yeah. You know thinking about superman. Superman one thing leads to another by in and in also an injustice jerry really liked was Superman wonder woman and one other person like all decided to be the lords of the were okay. We haven't really talked about the cyborg finally getting into down movie which was valve in heart of the whole film man even his his dad getting more than he got in the other. One we are which I don't know if you know that's the dude who immunity to not let that guy around sort of cyborg robots but that did such a good actor too man. I know and i feel like joss weeden just like they made him weird but they gave him a real part him. Real part and I saw on twitter the the lady that he gives the money to in the movie she posted on twitter. Like i haven't seen it yet. And i make it into the movie because her whole story out and he liked to back. How'd you get away. He decided to do that with like the standing in the desert like looking. I thought that was an interesting choice of how to jump into the into the box. Or no no when he just would like when he was like imagining. Yeah though i heard another podcast. So i can't take credit for say and i thought it was good like he can do all these things he doesn't just immediately like level out everyone's wealth and everyone money like why not like he whatever he wanted to they were like. Why would you give. Why don't you ease them into don't tell a teenager. He has to all the nuclear codes because teenagers get pissed off sometimes not only being able to get all the story leading characters breath and getting their stories but they didn't rush to. Oh we got a broom of may now halfway into the movie. Yeah and it wasn't like a a light decision liquid is like you know we're all thinking but i'm not gonna say it and they you know cyborg has him so and when he comes back they like cut that up you know when he's walking through the ship. Yeah in the voice of russell russell costner talking about these people and the planet earth and everything else. I'm like you. Why did you cut this out of the movie. Like i got chills. When that's half what do you think about all the hate. That draws wade's thinking about this movie like and how much he cut out of it seeing it now. I think it's deserved. Why did you do that. I don't think it's all of his. I don't think it's all his fault. I think the studio stepped in as well saying okay. You get two hours. Here's what snyder shot. And then put some humor to lighten it up a little bit. This is a little dark. I mean does point. He was like okay. He has stripped it down and said here's the basic story like basic story of the boxes and then we'll k. We'll just kind of that And then it didn't work but like other. I was telling talking to great now it. Could you know if you were big. Conspiracy theorist you could say that zack. Snyder's four hour movie was never gonna get seen. But what if we made a really crappy movie and that really crappy was so bad later on could make more money on the same film that we already have footage of later Because i don't like. I was trying to think if i just saw in the theater. I mean we've been four hours. Would i have liked it without if the knowing how bad the original one was the original one being bad. Make this one la better. I was thinking that same thing. Like did i enjoy this more because what we've seen before going. Oh my god that's crap now compared to this or if this would have been the only version we saw would we would we both given it five stars. I i probably would've but that's me Did you see the martian manhunter. Yes yes yes. I gotta help me. Some man's green green lantern ring barely. Snyder wanted the green lantern he did pop in at the end to talk to you one or two man. He wanted john. Stewart screen lantern day at the end instead of martian manhunter. But warner brothers said no yes. They have plans for greener and so unfortunately now. Did you like how. Marshall manner hunter came in basically being you know. I thought it was cool. Aren't the at these been slinging around the earth along. How can we help you help it. Yeah exactly you're not gonna help anything. Do you're like superpower. that's a character. I've always thought was way overpowered. He's like super strong. He could walk through walls. He can shape change. He's basically and read your mind and tell tell lp till tell 'til 'til telepathy and that was like but like he's not as strong as superman or one of them they always like take them down a notch. Yeah he's the guy that's supposed to just stay in the base and communicate everyone four. We wrap up talking to this. I we all it. The the last thing. I want to talk about that. I loved was how the final fight. How they actually came together. As a team worked together to steppenwolf i thought flashes with so good the the setting-up flashpoint now where he basically they lost. Yeah the boxes. United and the way that it happened where he had to run really fast then everybody gets put back together. Yeah just to see can bring back time. Yeah so that's every dc whenever they have a storyline running that sex every now and then. There's getting one sucks they'll be and then suddenly grabble. You're reading it sucks. Jalousie flash popout. I mess up time again..

"About dan snyder acquiring the rest of the equity of his football team from his minority owners has been a developing story all morning long and i wanted to get john orion from sports business journal on with me to talk about it and We still trying to sort through a lot of the information in various people that i've talked to first of all if you're just learning about this Tyler done who. is a A sort of a a a news business pro football guy broke this story early this morning. That washington football team majority owner. Dan snyder was buying out the minority owners. Forty point five percent stake in the team that he had requested a debt waiver of four hundred and fifty million dollars to fund. The deal and the deal has been approved by the nfl. Finance committee on tyler. By the way we'll be on my radio show on nine eighty tomorrow morning at At eight am so Tune in for that On radio at eight. Am tomorrow morning. Then we had the new york times story That came out shortly thereafter the new york times Basically following up on that report or maybe they had it initially before anybody else had it on the new york times. Writers can belsen and katharine ross. Men who have been all over sort of the washington football story here for for months Along with the washington post Wrote earlier this morning seeking to move past a year of tee of tumult over the team's former name in sexual harassment investigation of its front office. The owner of the washington. Football team is close to a deal with fellow league owners that will give him greater control over the organization while he pays a fine for executives. Misconduct let me just mention that real quickly because they barely even get back to this and it's almost The burying of half of the lead. You know certainly him buying out. The minority owners is the lead here but they mention that That the football teams close to a deal with fellow league owners that will give him greater control over the organization which will be about the acquisition of the remaining forty point. Five percent stake that the minority owners have and then they write wyle. He pays a fine for executives misconduct. So they're telling you that he's going to be fine. Fined for whatever is coming out of this beth. Wilkinson investigation is what i would assume. We're gonna talk to john oranda about that here in about three minutes Anyway they continue to write the arrangement effectively. Resolves to pressing issues a protracted boardroom fight over ownership that spilled out into the open and investigation by the nfl and allegations. That women who worked for the team were sexually harassed by staff members. A number of whom have already been dismissed. The league owners next week are expected to approve a special waiver that would allow the owner daniel snyder to take on an additional four hundred fifty million dollars in debt in order to buy out minority partners. He's been battling with according to a copy of the resolution reviewed by the new york times. The nfl's finance committee last week unanimously recommended that the full cohort of owners wave the limit of debt. A buyer can take on to buy a team. Snyder will have Until march of twenty twenty eight to repay the money so in layman's terms the nfl's had a limitation on. How much of your ownership can be financed via debt. Snyder had already reached that level. He needed a waiver for the league to increase the amount allowed and certainly with these new. Tv deals which basically is doubling the revenue for the league over the next decade. Plus he's going to be able to easily pay this back. You know by twenty twenty eight with the revenue that'll be coming in from the new. Tv deals which sort of leads me to believe that that made it easier for the owners to sort of provide this waiver. I'm on the funding But more importantly okay for our purposes it would appear it would appear as if we are now in a long live the king situation. The dan snyder is not going to be forced to sell the team or choose to sell the team. I really doubt that. The league would waive the financing rule. Which they did Foreign owner who's been under investigation for allegations of a of a culture. That's included sexual harassment. Misogyny if they were then going to force him out it doesn't really add up to me. We'll talk to john. Orient from sports business journal about this here momentarily But the net of this is the dan. Snyder is going to own. And his family are going to own one hundred percent of the team and fred smith dwight shar and bob rothman will be bought out for basically you know a valuation of about two point two billion dollars which also by the way means. That snyder is getting a deal On the purchase of the forty percent. Because to be honest with you this team. If it were made available would be worth north fourbillion if not north of five billion dollars so not only is he to own it and own all of it. He is in many ways getting sort of a deal. I think on valuation. But i'm gonna talk to john about that because i think you know. Part of that is just that the minority owners in selling when you sell that stake and you can't sell that stake to somebody That gives the the equity stake also a corresponding control over the team. Then the value of those minority shares are much less. Anyway when we come back after this break john sports journal will discuss..

"It's lit and shot. And zack snyder ios hamburgers super important. And you know. I like to. We're going to make this this. We're gonna make him look like brad pitt legends of the fall. We're going to make it look like the most beautiful thing hamburger you've ever seen. Bring me the mother burgo. I love how accidentally that's the thing. Is that if you put somebody behind the camera and you go. Give me four hours of footage. You're gonna accidentally create something beautiful and you're only affect my review as well exactly. It's like when people go like mad like this songwriter. So good you're like yeah. They've written eight hundred songs. One of them had to be good just on accident right. There's four hours of justice league. There's something in there that you're going to like. I happen to find the majestic seen of a burger dropped on the floor of a garbage truck to be very beautiful. I thought it was the best shot seen in the entire movie and then there was another three hours to go if it had just been three hours of burger quest. I would've been down with that nice truck like blew up. That was the other car park. So there we go. Another movie has been set up. Burger burger quests. We we got look at burger. We got a burger guy. Movie jerker movie. Batman nightmare murder movie. Dark seed movie. Fake deadpool. Original deepfake pool movie. There's so many movies that are never flashing. Apparently that has happened cyber cyber a cyber movie. That could work even though you've already done the whole story but yeah here's here's a question. If you took batman out of this movie completely the plot all still happens almost exactly the same way right. That's what i was asking. Where was he during the last battle. Cowan have come together. No i mean. I did see him. I wonder woman would have gone and found everybody. Yeah think batman was checking like tender. Yeah yeah i mean she did. Can you type she. She was that was like the funniest part is wonder woman was googling like dirty. Don't you can't robin do this. Nope can't like i know jokers behind this. I mean also in watch. These movies did robin die. They don't show that they just they. Just establish kidding me holly. In batman v superman they establish a few key things. One robin is dead. To joker killed him free robin. We don't know three which we know. Wheels robin no. No all we know is this. All we know is that we know that robin is dead and that joker killed him. Because in the bat cave batman keeps like in a glass display case the armor. That robin was wearing when he died. That is like spray painted with jokers. Ha ha ha bullshit like he keeps. He keeps his his like corpse not weird. It's it's a real stretch that they're assuming people know about very specific yeah macbook art. Yeah because there's the death in the family story in the comics where basically readers voted to kill robin. They were like they were like all right. You have the opportunity do you. Don't like this new robin jason. Todd since dick grayson had become night wing nightly. They're like call in or write. I can't remember which one it was. If you want this do to die in. Everyone did they were like we hate us. But that's a twitter poll that let's put up on the pool but no one would like you're right. They're letting their like assuming that people just fucking know that justice league that's awesome. That's and that's if you like that. That's something they hoped you know. If you saw batman v superman if an even that is like okay you have to fill in some context there. If the only movie you saw was justice league. Like you've got nothing. Yeah watching this one. I got to that part. And i was like oh i don. Who'd they cast as robin wright like. I'm familiar enough with the stories. We're like joker kills robin but like movie wise. I had no idea there even was a robin. So it's really awesome learned. Actually this is this. Is i believe nightmare in suicide squad but at least in this arc this group of movies. This is the only one of the movies where joker and batman and ben affleck batman appear. Together it's correct and it's weird fucking dream whether like i'm darker than you are fucking fucking fuck. It was as watching the captions before popped up. And i was like. Oh fuck you on. Honestly he's a best the best part of the post of the the nightmare sequence the post apocalyptic. Whatever is is that you know. Society's fallen superman is evil whatever. Why is batman still wearing his fucking massacre. That's really stand out. yes avoid superman. Maybe you should cut down on those bat. Ears i have sensitive skid balding bruce wayne. Everyone's got have that super sweet lake house by the if they see on bruce wayne ask me for money. I'll have to give the poor mother's one hundred thousand dollars site. But meanwhile cyborg by the is the cyborg the biggest enemy by the way. If you want to talk about like batman. Batman like deciding to ice superman because he thought he was a threat. Civilization the biggest threat to batman period. Is cyborg just a racist net worth. Yeah just go on the net and give it all muslims values. That would be a great fucking movie like like that movie superman right. That is. I feel like i feel like. There's a lot of batman who would object to that afflict batman i kind of fiction takes your life. I can't take it it's fine. Oh no i know where. I i know. Where not just taking this though like he would we would go. You should just make cyborg superman then. You have a natural conflict between batman inherited wealth complete astle and then you and cyborg who wants to give all of his money away to other people that's not whereas neither would take over. He would take it. Oh yes i've worked with getting the crypto. that's what it would be. He turned cyborg into a crypto right. It'd be like currencies where it's at and cyborg. It'd be like no. It's all in the blockchain. That's where tamasek snyder would take. it invests. We probably how he dark. Ci yes the crypto. They buy them out a hit you with the bitcoin ray stupid movie but we're glad it exists.

"Yeah that'll never happen. I love it. Yes yeah. I mean again. They knew before they put this thing out so that. Yeah because zack snyder saying oh look at what you could have had. This zack snyder. And like i think part of it is. I'm viewing. this is like zack snyder. As a person like. I don't like any other movies but like this thing in and of itself so fucking bizarre. I'm glad it exists. Okay so this is. This is my thing with dc. Are you ready okay. So martian manhunter that character that character is essentially a god. He is insanely powerful. He has all of the powers but they needed to give him a weakness. Okay need to give them a weakness so they needed to give him a weakness of the original weakness of the martian manhunter because rippling ibs dude. That would make a lot more steps that would be a lot server. What's martian hunters original weakness. Do you remember no acquired fire why they make a dude who can travel through interstellar space and basically reconstitute matter as he sees fit and has every power in the world. They're like yeah but but he's vulnerable to fire pants which is only the second dumbest weakness of a major dc hero. That being green lantern whose weakness is the color yellow buoy. dc man. Because i was. I mean superman's up there to superman is up there too on the stupid weaknesses. Let superman at least at least with why. They're called comic books. Because i should've scenarious. I'm not so i'm most with kryptonite. They have the decency to be like. This is hard to find. The color yellow is fucking everywhere everywhere so the yellows tonight is like the essence of his home world. That's like you rubbing dirt on somebody and then being like how. Here's a great. There's a great panel. In like in this frank miller batman story called batman and robin. The boy wonder where they are. Basically going to like. Get a hold of green lantern and strip him of his powers and they literally just paint this one room fucking yellow the table the chairs every fucking thing in the green walks in just like shit liberal be defeated by home depot. He can be defeated by crossing. Gardiner reflective vests tuned defeated weather. La lakers he would lose on greenland with loose iowa. Yeah and by the way not done with martian manhunter because it gets dumber martian manhunter. Then they've been sort of rewrote the weakness to well. It is dumped that he's vulnerable to fire because everything else no now. He just has a fear of fire. Even though he's okay with it that idiot it can be hard when you had experience. Okay i had a fire once. And i was pooped for days traveling through the universe at the speed of light and reading minds along the way i happen to run into an enormous ball of fire called the sun which came out of nowhere i lost i will say i think this this movie in this iteration was per is the perfect thing for the time we live in right now which is one of the most exhausting and depressing and dark and frustrating like years that we have collectively been through and also one of the most like temporarily loose like no. We never know what time it is. We never have any sense of like never know how much time is left no ends and like i think if this had dropped a year ago or a year from now i don't think it would work but in a very weird way like the thing. Jason is identifying. I'm glad this weird thing exists. It's like yeah man. It might have after every dumb thing. That's happened over the last twelve months. We might as well get a four hour. Justice league where. Zack snyder can do whatever he wants. Including setup multiple sequels. That won't happen. Yeah i also. I think the one thing i like and i'm really not trying to like overly praises movie. You know i'm never gonna watch it again but the other thing i like is now that the marvel movies have just completely dominated superhero movies. It is nice to get the kind of the version which is not my preferred version but it is still nice to temperate a little bit like. Let's take a break from the quickness and especially if a dc ebron released characters big serious heavy gods and all that and like four for for one. Sit through to get you know. A these characters are just metal video. Gods and it's i guess it's nice to remember the other way movies can go and now it'll be refreshing to get some jokes. Get next time magazine. So let's just so every twenty marvel movies. Dc gets to make one movie. How about that sure. That seems like a fair thing. I did actually have one of the thing. I liked about the movie. And that was a scene involving hotdogs and time slowing down. Yeah yeah. I like weird scene the gift of that scene. Because it's a woman flying through the air with hotdogs flying at her and it's like oh yeah that's what that's like every ladies. Dm's right right and the flash grabs once we can feed the dogs. But like there's absolute somebody absolutely is gonna grab that jeff. I did love the deep weird of that. I felt like maybe that was accidentally weird. I don't feel exact. Snyder is ever intentionally weird or funny but having the hotdogs floating around him and like a cart in the air and he looks up and sees a hot dog and he's like okay cool hotdog to single effervescent sesame see got its own shot. There's a really good. David lynch ian shot of the hamburger that the garbage truck driver drops where he looks down. And the the hamburger looks like the most important and dramatic thing hamburger damn super well lint on the bottom of this truck it is beautifully lit hamburger and it looks like honestly it looks like on like god had dropped the key to heaven itself..

"I will say if nothing else i truly. I'm not even kidding about this. I truly appreciate that zack. Snyder gave us a movie. Where every other batman movie or every other sort of like incarnation of batman is so focused on mike. Batman doesn't kill. Batman has a line. He won't cross batman like lives by this rigorous moral code zack. Snyder gave us a movie. Where admittedly in a dream. But he said it. All the same batman looked at the joker and said i will fucking kill you. Because that's that's He's he's scared he will just promising. He's just promising a bit. I will kill you slowly because of who hasn't hasn't had a dream about promising. The joker that you hurt joker in ways that you have promised to. You will not hurt the joke. It's very common dream. Freud wrote about it right. Stephen godfrey and it's his fault. I watched this movie. This is this is also where i will point out that the only reason the events of this movie happened are because batman. Basically fucking killed superman. Batman what happened. I won't kill street. Criminals fucking superfan. Betsy that's what happened in this one way for for someone who had who came in that any foreknowledge from the movies like server they just implied batman feels bad about superman being. I feel like it's. It's a crime that jason spencer and holly don't know that the reason batman doesn't kill superman. They also sing saying okay. Wait whites but i thought he did kill him now okay. Batman is about to kill superman. I think with a kryptonite spear he was because because he's decided that superman is an existential threat to the world. Fair that's it. it's like he sees. He sees all the destruction that happens in man of steel. And he's like no more can't allow this to happen. Like batman doesn't fucking level buildings every other night so the whole batman vs. that's the whole like animating arc of batman v superman batman decides to hunt and kill superman decides at the last minute not talking that love that man because of mom mom yeah and then and then and the l. What mom thing. Show show all right boy. Also third has lex. Luther has kept for the benefit. The audience lex. Luther has kidnapped superman's mother. Whose name is martha and never set before superman before he's about to die says save martha batmans mother was also that many names that is correct. Batmans mother was also named martha so this to her. she's fine. she's the bank but she bought the farm since christ was short. Short version is. Superman gives his life to stop basically doomsday the the guy the villain not like the. Yeah and in so so like no batman doesn't directly kill superman but it's because batman like basically fell for lex. Luther is complicated. plot man is dead. It's worth noting to in the beginning of this movie. They point out that when superman screams when he's dying it's what wakes up all those boxes in the original cut critic from wrong they don't ever explain why steppenwolf knows to come guided boxer. Stand that this movie. I think in the orig- i think the only thing the original cut russ on is the end of. I think it may be. It's like the post credits scene. In batman. v. Superman where lex. Luther is basically like bad. Things will happen batman. That's it super thin. Fuck then Excited by the way that lex. Luther is on a boat like with some dude who congratulations. They made joe manganiello not hot. That's amazing that is the biggest like that they brought. Yeah that that guy is the guy. A marvel copied outright openly copied for decimal. Like i like the idea of him being move. Yeah we've we've found a better version of this guy already. So that's that's the best part. You're like oh man the completely ripped it off and it's better it's just like darks and thanos like dc. You've been improved. go now. Godfrey said something that chilled me to the bone. Today is that name pronounced dark seed. They say darks high. I have always read it as dark seed. Because that's how it's spilled boy but it is dumb comic. So it's probably dark side action with the german valve pronunciations. That is dark side but godfrey says dark seeds so and he read it. He is people. Don't talk about that How on earth by the way do you get to that point in the story. Right where where we've gone okay. So here's the bad guy. No no no. it's actually. He's the under bad guy. He's the undersecretary of bad guy nece right relative to everybody else a the thing. I know setting up another movie. But he's not a movie that will never happen. No so here's what we need spencer. We need an eight hour cut. Because i want to dark. Ci dark we need the fourteen hour cut. Yes so that we can finally get too so that can go man who has dark side and then ben affleck can lazily. Look to the camera go. I'm so glad you asked the origins. I like a fifteen minute in kevin smith original film clerks. Like there's no. I can't tell you how many steps you could cut like. There's so many movies that do a good job of artfully explaining the origins of something. But either giving you a framework your brain can fill in instantly like. That's the future back to the future is the best of this. It's not even the bad guy it just like. This is the flux capacitor. It's what makes time travel possible. We're moving on now get. Don't no no no no. no zack. Snyder would go so of at the flux. Capacitor shot nineteen fifties right. Yeah you'd get a. You'd get a ten minute music video about the flux capacitor that dragged down the entire movie and probably used a third of the visual effects budget rights and then then when they came back from that wonder woman would go so. That's the flux capacitor. somebody would go talks capacitor. And they say it's just people kid we need. Marvin marvin the slow mo. i think i'm good with the patch together. Dialogue and the totally unnecessary action scenes. And the totally unnecessary expo. Dumps kinda okay with most music videos. The slow mo. We know it was coming because we knew what we were in for. The first hour is just lousy with the slow mo. It's not even cool shit. There's like literally a fucking hamburger rolling around on the floor of a truck applied slow to it. Then it's even before the flash is doing his thing. So if you cut out the slow mo and therefore bring it down to three hours best picture not quite what it would be a lot that yes it would be a lot better because it's just oh my god there there are parts. I think there is some parts. There's something wrong with abrahams because there was no proper understanding of how long or short something should be for instance. Yes the death. Knell of superman wakes up the mother boxes. I cannot believe that sentence came out of my mouth and teens. Can we not talk about the center of mothers boxes. That i read that on my notes the first time someone said i think steppenwolf he said following the mother boxes and it's also especially because everybody in this movie has like parent issues. All of yes everybody. The one person who arguably doesn't is wonder woman and she's dead boyfriend issue but her mom lays step. Mostly i killed your mom. And she's like needed but like they even try that with her. I couldn't tell based on the movie whether or not that actually happened. I don't think it did. Okay yeah like there are many interpretations. Yeah they can't and by the way like like. No one is for batman. V superman his mom being dead. Even at the very end aquaman at the very end that you think like we made it through with any parent issues locker man and he's got a cooked up the other week. I gotta fix it. Oh my drunk back into that. Even the bad guy even steppenwolf is basically like. I gotta get dad to love me again. That's been around for a billion years. Asakusa third manager dark side. We'll approved by up my promotion. It's not it's not even his dad. It's is seeking the approval of his branstad. I should've known this assigned by the way that like everything about this movie was made by a stupid mind..

"All right okay. I feel like. I watched one hundred music videos in a row. Yeah so like the whole time. I'm watching this and so like we'll get into what we're talking about this but the entire time. I'm watching the four hour. Schneider kit which i believe we all have i was like man was born to make music videos and i don't even care it. Power metal is the mood but apply that to any genre. I don't care country pop whatever. Just let this man made music videos. He's done. He's done a four hour movie he's done with movies. Please music videos. Which i believe may be one of the roots of one of the problems here. Well i would say one of the gifts that could be better. Applied elsewhere Yes the society. I think made a large mistake when it told zack snyder. That the first ten minutes of watch member super fucking great because now. He just made thirty nine of the first. Ten minutes of watchmen all stitch together and we decided collectively that. It was okay to call that movie. That's that's that's good because as you know the ncaa men's basketball term and the instability women's basketball tournament are both going on right now so naturally. We thought the thing that we should discuss as a college football podcast would be the four hour. Plus long snyder cut of justice league. Ryan which isra it is a college football movie. We didn't really think that going in. But yes we didn't know that going in but are your folks. You're in spoiler zone because because we shared it's four hours long we could. We could tell you we could tell you literally everything we remember. We wouldn't spoil the whole thing but yes there. Cyborg is a college football player. Playing against the wisconsin badgers Zack snyder of course from green bay. Wisconsin i guess that's why i had to look that up because i had plenty of time during the four hour. Run time to look that up. But yeah i did not know that. Okay so that makes a whole lot more college football movie. yes it is. By the way shows wisconsin losing in the snow in the snow. Which as we all know impossible not happening. That's how you know that it is a work of fiction not documentary. Additionally i'm gonna go ahead and say this. I think gotham city university based on the kind of like overtones. I got there rutgers. That's that's what. I thought their big ten so this is a conference game. They're pet yeah. They were totally well. Remember the steelers. The steelers have stood in for the gotham pro football team earlier in the dc universe. And you know the uniform colors and yet they're they're supposed to be pit and also in they conducted themselves rather pitifully because look at what if we if we say. That cyborg is a pit player right. What does he do at the end. You he comes out of nowhere. Destroy the fucking standing for the infinity gauntlet. I would also like the plane. Which i like that. We're going to charge. Why like that. We're calling him cyborg in this part of the movie because it isn't just the name no it is but it suggests like the football scenes happen before he becomes cyborg but we're making it sound like a cybernetic superheroes playing college football. Well air donal so yeah. Larry is like an analog side but the the the winning the game winning score that cyborgs scores. That's basically the same score. That's the same thing that happened. When.

To listen to including my new one cheer and loathing featuring stephanie the editor in chief of morbidly beautiful and myself as we bicker about well movies sometimes. It's horror sometimes is not. We have a bonus episode featuring nick ages con air this week where i will shit all over it but onto today's episode which features a director by the name of nicholas snyder. Now who's nikola snyder. You might be wondering well. He's a brand new director and his latest film is called the astrology of pandemics. Nicholas was kind enough to sit down with me and talk about the making of his film as well as the events that led. Up to it including the alignments of certain planets that led to certain events which allowed him to actually make the film. It's a truly fascinating. Watch from a fascinating man. He super genuine intelligent and has a lot of theories. About how the planetary alignments and pandemic's over the course of history including the one where currently in all kinds of lineup he even mentioned to me off recording that my last episode but the dancing plague in fifteen eighteen did indeed align with some very specific planets in very specific signs in the sky super interesting. Give it a listen. This is nicholas snyder. And you can catch his film. The astrology of pandemics on pretty much.

"For decades. White Sharks supposedly one who helped engineer bringing jobs back and what would that mean for the relationship with gifts that would be pretty devastating if if that would come out but remember the and no one else has reported this except the New York Times and what it means. You have this arbitration hearing. Clean the minority owners and Snyder right and we don't. We don't know anything about it. I'm looking to Dell. Dell. The arbitrator, right Okay The three men meaning three minority owners asked the NFL to resolve the matter. Okay that the stupid team Snyder and minority owners the resolve, the matter and other isn't. The Commissioner's office appointed an arbitrator in late tune according to people familiar with the matter. who were not authorized to speak publicly the NFL declined to comment. That's just sits out there. What does that mean maybe nothing? A little thing. But I but Lead is already letting. There's so much going on. There's there's this arbitration with the minority owners. There's the Beth Wilkinson investigation. There's you know this this sense that the post is just gotten started on this stuff the it's really an football season by the way is less than two weeks away and I can't wait for that There's a lot going on. "Twenty. All Right Tommy let's get to what I think is a potential wild story in the making. Of course, it has nothing to do with what will be going on on the field for the Washington football team rarely do these big stories have anything to do with what's going on on the field with this organization but this is a doozy If you've been following this, I don't know where goes but where it is right now is very interesting and potentially incredible when you consider the ownership group of your Washington football team first of all. Let me give you sort of the chronological events of this. Dan. Snyder last week sued a company called Ami A. W. W that that company is media entertainment arts worldwide, they are an India based company and Snyder and Snyder filed last week in an Indian court a lawsuit against this company for publishing articles linking. Dan Snyder to Jeffrey Epstein this all goes. Back to the week, lead up to the post story about a month ago. Now, that indicated that fifteen women stepped forward and alleged sexual harassment and verbal harassment by the redskins. Organization the week leading up to it as as most recall included all of these wild rumors on the Internet one included a story that this media entertainment arts worldwide printed. Snyder had been linked to Jeffrey Epstein. Now, this this group put out a statement saying that That they acknowledged that in public in some of their public statements that there were factual problems with their stories but they denied that outsiders paid for their placement, I'll get to that part in a moment. Snyder's lawyers said that media entertainment arts worldwide intentionally. So disinformation at the behest of undisclosed clients, including governments and intelligence services, and they're often hired by clients that are cloaked behind several layers of anonymous corporate entities. What Snyder's lawyers allege that they do, and then they alleged that they were involved in in spreading stories in internet information that included Snyder being tied to Jeffrey Epstein. Now, the follow up to that Tommy came yesterday when Dan Snyder accused a former team employees in a federal court. Of taking part in an Internet mass information campaign against him, falsely linking him to convicted sex criminal Jeffrey Epstein and using twitter bots that spreaded that spread unfounded rumors about Snyder abusing drugs, holding sex parties and BRIBING NFL referees. Remember those were some of the stories we heard leading up to post story. Here's the detail of the filing yesterday the filing a request for discovery in the Federal District Court in Alexandria Virginia. Accuses Mary Ellen Blair a former Executive Assistant to Snyder of acting as an intermediary for unnamed adversaries. Snyder thanks paid an India based online news company to publish false stories linking him to Epstein that would be the company that I just spoke of the media Entertainment Arts Worldwide Company This is his lawyer speaking Joe Taco Pena. Quote we know someone's behind these slanders and quite frankly despicable articles that were published. We need to understand WHO's behind this. With certainty we want our proof now mary-ellen Blair the former executive. Assistant to Snyder. Through her attorney the Attorney said that That, her client. Denied that her I'm sorry denied that her client had involvement with the Epstein Stories and accused Snyder seeking to quote, humiliate and intimidate his former employees, the filings and obvious into inappropriate attempt to silence. Miss Blair and others who may wish to communicate with legitimate news organizations about the culture of sexism harassment and abuse that has existed at the highest levels of the Washington football team for decades bullying and baselessly disparaging former employees who provide truthful information about their experience with Dan Snyder and his organization will do nothing to repair the reputation he claims in this filing to care so deeply about. Now. Here's the real intriguing part. Let me before I get to this just make sure everybody's clear Snyder. Sues this media company in India for falsely putting out a story that he had ties with Jeffrey Epstein. Then yesterday in a court filing for discovery he accuses his former Executive Assistant of acting as an intermediary for this India based online news company and providing information to them. Now here, Tommy is really I think the part that is going to be very interesting and makes it a must follow story. Snyder's filing yesterday in court seeks documents from mary-ellen. Blair. His former executive assistant as well as from Com stock holding companies a Virginia Real Estate Company that owns rental properties where Blair mary-ellen Blair's former executive system has lived. The filing alleges that Blair receive discounted rent for years while working for for the same unidentified people who funded would snyder believes was an orchestrated fake news Internet campaign against him. Monday's filing appears to mark an intensification between Snyder and the three minority owners of the football team over the franchise's direction. That would be remember. Fred Smith. Bob Rothman and Dwight Shar own roughly forty percent of the organization. While, his name is not mentioned in the Filing Dwight Shar. One of those minority owners seeking to sell his share of the team is the father-in-law of Comstock Chief Executive Christopher Clement shars daughter Tracy Shar is a senior VP ADT com stock sits on the company's board of directors. Comstock again being the company and the real estate. Company that owns rental properties that gave this mary-ellen Blair who worked for Snyder, who Snyder's accusing of providing this information to this company in India discounted rent for years. Dwight. Shar could not be reached to comment Tracy Shar released a statement denying Snyder's allegations and said Blair paid the market rate for apartments that she's lived in to comstock properties since twenty fifteen quote any insinuation Miss Blair received special treatment for any reason is patently false any allegations or disparagement of comstock just spin designed to deflect from public reports.

Okay spray that on that stuff is highly flammable and it works so it's just It's just hedging your bet I I pulled out a little. Ej Snyder in me Last fall well not fall and a summer. We go camping every year and now it's not an Ej. Snyder style camping. We we rent a camper and we actually have the camper. Yeah is that glancing. Because the fucking ten isn't like a king size bed or anything in it but we got a firepit so my youngest daughter step-daughter is a girl scout so one of the badges that she can get as fire starter so I got a piece of Flint and a striker and we actually let I taught her how to light the fire with the flint and we got a fire going with just flint and found so. She still has that with her. She carries it with her. Favourite show is naked and afraid in her favorite character. Is You believe it or not. "Say if things look back from the outside. They're usually much much support behind. The scene was say for Urban Meyer. Basically who I I'm thinking is on the Redskins Payroll. I'm thinking he's not doing all this stuff for the redskins for free you know. So for Urban Meyer so to rip them and to basically exposed them not that they needed exposing but when you have an insider with with a level of credibility that urban Meyer had validating it. I think it really hits home and I even though it's tell us something we don't know it's when you have somebody with his credentials. Say it. I think it's another thing. Yeah I mean given the fact that there seems to be some sort of relationship between him and the team now. Scotland when Zaven Scott had urban Meyer on on their show last week. Scott ask them like you consultant. Are you getting and he said no? He said. But I've got players here and I and I. I've gotten to know Dan. Whatever so a lot of people's follow up on on what? I said yesterday was he's really referring to Bruce Allen and what the culture was which to which. I responded with okay. That's that's fine but that doesn't mean that it's not going to continue to be a hot mess. You know again if you force me to wager Ron. Rivera is going to have great success and turn the redskins around. Or you have to wager on the opposite. That Ron Rivera is gonNA fall by the wayside just like every other great coach came here. Mardi GIBBS SHANAHAN DID. I would wager on that. That it doesn't work out now doesn't mean that. I can't be optimistic for a half second like I was when when Shanahan got here like I was when Gibbs was here you know and and hoping that Snyder changes his ways But you know there's been a theme here people. The theme is the been terrible out. I mean this head years before Bruce. Out For God's sake the the theme is it hasn't worked for anybody under this owner period now. You can't debate that when people say well. Things are different now. I would say well. He's been on the job for four months. They're not playing football. I would hope things are different now. She could tell by the light streaming through her window that it was well past on. She had stayed up so late the night before. All she wanted to do was slip back into sleep but before she could. She heard a muffled noise place outside her bedroom. Her mother's plaintive voice calling her lorraine hurried out of bed and opened the door to find her mother ruth sprawled on the floor a not formed in Lorraine stomach. She knew immediately that something was horribly wrong. She rushed to her mother's side and spotted a cord wrapped loosely around roots ankles. She reached out to tug on it but ruth pushed her hands away and I told her to go call their neighbor for help lorraine heard the panic in roots voice and it terrified her. Why was her mother lying on the floor? Why was she tied up? But Ruth stopped her in a shrill quavering voice ruth ordered the rain to run to the phone immediately this time lorraine obeyed. She called their neighbor and asked her to come over as soon as she could good as lorraine hung up the phone she thought of one final unnerving question. Where was her a father?.

"When Ruth could engineer. Albert's death on our own. She turned a judge for help sometime in February they met for a date at the waldorf-astoria they drink heavily. Billy and ruth lamented the state of her marriage. Crying to judd about everything that had gone wrong. She told Chad her arguments. It's with Albert. Were worse than ever before even saying that whenever Albert lost his temper he threatened to kill her. She was also losing too much money every month. Paying her husband's insurance premiums at some point Albert was sure to find out and he'd be furious. Ruth felt she was running out of time to get rid of her husband. They were going to bring their daughter nine year old lorraine with with them while they were away the house would be empty. Because Ruth's mother plan to be away on a nursing job. It would be easy for Jad to sneak into the house and wait for Ruth. And Albert's return. Ruth expected that after the party Albert would be drunk invulnerable. It would be the perfect moment and to pull off the crime. Judd agreed and went to work setting up an alibi. On Friday afternoon Judd Gray took a train to Syracuse in upstate. New York that evening he checked into the hotel Onondaga and spent the night there the following morning on Saturday march nineteenth. He spoke to clients over the phone on Saturday afternoon. He had lunch with a friend hand and asked for a favor. He said that he had plans to meet up with a girlfriend in Albany. He didn't want his wife or employer to find out and so he asked his friend go to his hotel room. Post a few letters mess up the bed so that it looks slept in and place a do not disturb sign on the hotel room door that way nobody would guess at he'd ever left Syracuse. The friend didn't mind lending a hand with his cooperation. Listen Judd felt certain that he had an airtight alibi. The Snyder family went out Saturday night to a neighbor's burs Bridge Party other attendees later recalled that Ruth acted very affectionately toward her husband that night Albert founded strange even commenting minting that. She didn't treat him that well at home neighbors also remembered that ruth refused to drink much that night. She said she felt sick and told the the host to give her share of the drinks to Albert. Albert seemed ready and willing to overindulge around midnight while Albert Ruth Anne Lorraine still at the Party Judd arrived at the Snyder House. Ruth had left the door unlocked for him and he crept inside. Judd climbed the stairs to Granny Brown's room. He went inside where he found a bottle of whisky lying on the bed and he began to drink it. It helped him pass the time as he waited for the Snyder's return around two o'clock in the morning. The Snyder niners left the party and made their way back home. Ruth trying to keep her breathing steady as they approached the house house. She was already worried. Her husband's suspected something. If she could just get through the next few hours everything would be alright. When she got inside roots voice trembled as she told Lorraine to hurry to bed? She helped the girl into her pajamas hoping hoping her daughter was too tired to notice how her hands were shaking. According to the plan judge should already be inside the house. Ruth knew he must be waiting in the room next door probably feeling as nervous as she was unless something had gone wrong perhaps he had gotten cold feet again perhaps he was still upstate. She shook those thoughts out of her mind and left her daughter's room. She paused in front of Greeny Brown room making sure the hallway was clear before opening the door so far she was safe. She heard her husband in the master bedroom. Getting undressed oblivious. She poked her head into Granny Brown's room and there was judd waiting for her like a loyal dog. Ruth gave a quick nervous. Smile down the hall. She she heard. Albert's settling into bed. He didn't suspect a thing. Ruth was suddenly flooded with an overpowering certainty. It was either going to happen tonight or never.
