"I go. I go home tomorrow but then I go to Russia. What are you rush. I'm doing a show in Russia where where where Moscow have. Have you performed in Russia. No you gotTa go if there's anybody. That's Kinda got anybody to talk to you. Murder Sergei told me me up so you really had collusion a venue where you doing in Moscow like maybe four hundred seats. Somebody's talking you yeah. It's pretty crazy. That's fucking you. How did you get a Moscow fenby. They just asked me apparently one of my clips. like a stand up clip was going around and it was kind of like important for people who are like starting comedy the out there. They were like hey this is cool. We should do this. It'd be like is socially. It was about your wife. She speaks up. You've got a they got that down. Do you know why they tried to bring. Everybody loves Raymond to Russia and it just didn't work because there was. He was like woman talking. You hit her. You hear a little bit and say this. You talk to me like animals hugging somebody animals. Oh Bald Eagles yeah. I just feel like there's a lot of animals that it's time to go. Oh and were holding onto long. Okay like this house. You have rats everywhere. It's time to go right. I all I see he's rat tails hanging hanging down little icicles either way. I can't not see them now to direct it. I think this intimidation tactic that you learn Russia like I. I feel like this is this is a way to like. Get the guests all his believe. How many rats are in there. I can't believe it. It's shocking. I can't realize that's the only takeaway anyone will got from. This podcast is like Bert Scott Rat. Yeah I throw the animations. There will be the that's where people hang their hat on this podcast. You could be like Oh oh actually there are no less than fifty rats going up and down and their more coming down the tree three. This is like you gotta call the city. You gotta you gotTa get you gotTa. Call the city scare them or something halston. Why are you going outside. We are safe from them the year you got to scare them. Halston don't scare them. They'll come in here. Oppose the door. Just close the door closer chicken. We're not doing this for Allston to be attacked by highest in that. This is something I don't get but that's what I'm saying so rhinoceros. Oh my God okay now when you see all that could we live without rats. What if you couldn't see because the whole thing ecosystem doesn't because we've been killing animals forever and we're pretty good Yabu was I don't know maybe I could live without personally without rats so now what about polar bears. I've never I've never needed one. Did you see how we're flipping. See how we wanted more animals and our like how do we don't need polar bears or seals really who'd I'm cool sharks. Okay thank you so if you started doing a draft. Lucky keep those to a draft animals. We need yeah. That's all I'm saying house chickens. I think if if we have cows and chickens Charles chickens that's it. I don't think we need many more. Maybe a fish it would be nice to have to Wales are like would know wells attorney body and they kinda cool when you see him yeah unless you're a plankton and you're like these guys are dicks. It's fucking Holocaust. Every time they open their mouth. Dude Dude lengthened Jamais snorklers flers get eaten up by Wales every year because there's whale watching and all of a sudden the plankton rush atom and my my buddy John Wall Shit and you're you get caught up and it just won't Quayle's. GotTa go gotTA. Go Okay as what animal has struck on your heart. We went holy fuck. No now dog's gotta stay. No no no no no like all dogs ever. Give me all yeah I I saw lion. One time I was what fifteen year lion okay in in the safari far expiry majestic animal so and then you look at it right and then when you're done looking at right I was done before everyone else and that that's it's interesting. You say that because I remember everyone was like what I was like. I got it yeah we would scoot. I'm well sharks and they're like really another forty five minutes and I was like cool and we got down there and I was it. Mike I am dumb fucking dark yeah yeah it kind of a pussy well sir. It's like something dog sit they met in Japan netted him. Zeke and like they'd take people out and just oh come on sad. That's all I'm saying like. We don't have to have all the animals and we're spending all this time trying to save some. I think it's like God is going. It's kind of better without a without that. You know what I mean and I think I get a little crazy with this kind of stuff like I. I'm like global warming guy like I think that might work out. I you know it's so funny as in my workout. It might be what we want. You think I'm almost one hundred percent. Positive hits me pro war. It's just like but I mean this is. What can I tell you what is so frustrating. As a man is forty-six is one of our favorite things to a comic take an angle no-one no-one takes and then and then literally sit and chew on it yeah. That's it yeah so they we do that. We global warming like who okay who suffers from global warming. There's like four Eskimos that still wanNA live up there. The Bahamas Hamas that's Kinda knowing but look economic has been sitting on top of the Bahamas for forty eight hours long and it's not only been in hurricane yeah. Can you imagine forty eight hours of you going because you don't have any news. You're just sitting there going fucking enough already. How have we not figured out hurricanes yet. That's another thing trump's. Drop a bomb on them and I oh cab. Why isn't anybody tried to you. Don't think People Bahamas were like. I think that's a great idea. You just fucking. Give it a go. I mean someone's gotTa. Try It. Yes if I mean. I don't know what the bomb does but there's gotta be something you can do to a hurricane. You know what it would do. Have you ever seen the the the the what the when they drop a bomb. In the sound wave travels an air travels and all of a sudden there was like a wonder if it would push and disperse the storm so now. I can't stand and doesn't have any power. That's the problem with trump is that he says this crazy fucking thing that everyone writes off and then he's. Oh wait on this smarter than him. Say it and now he's saying it now. We're reading it off because he's saying Eberstadt. Drop a couple bombs. Just see if it does anything the bombs the other thing was the ice did you. We tried to do that back in the day but we didn't have the technology but like if you just have this massive block of ice and you put it in the I it's too cool. It needs warm air so you have a tugboat bringing fucking ice cube bro. WPRO am the the the the glaciers already gone look. I'm not I'm not a specialist in any means with this kind of stuff. I just feel like there's certain things we I should have figured out yeah. I feel like if hurricanes hit New York. We would have figured it out the one did. Bj lost everything we he did. Oh yeah there was that's that's right went up the coast and Jay Lost Everything Kevin Hart gave him like fifteen grand to get his life back brands like that really never never call yeah. I mean not bad or good but Kevin Hart came. The money never said anything never called him never and they kind of you know. That's a good guy yeah. Yes I got a guy by by the time this era people will know what's going on Kevin Hart. I'm I think more yeah. I think it's been so quiet yeah. I'm not fucking feeling good about it yeah in terms of what. I think it's more of an injury than we think or more. Something happened more yeah because it's so quiet yeah. I mean my assumption would be he was driving and and they're trying to make it seem like he wasn't that just from the fact that you don't hear any information to elderly do you get the car accident and then get an SUV. Go Home Rights and and figure out how you're drunk or something like that so there's a dream I would never WANNA put blame on Kevin but I I just a second. I heard all this I was like and then they drove him to the hot. I mean I it just sounds fucking horrible. You drink a little bit like what like how much when you say like. How many times times have you gotten drunk this month not that many but I'll get drunk like I for years didn't drink at all. I don't drink perform onstage. Neither I mean I'll have. I'll bring a drink with me right but I will never go. You'll never see me in a comedy club getting a drink. Foregoing stages just doesn't happen right. I take that back like Rogan does a shot before we all go on stage shot with rotary but I'm not I don't. I like to be on it on it and feel it. I like to feel like I mean like with the littler shows. Maybe you're not you know there's no not known any nerves or anything like that but like when again is that a real gun sick so the but for the big show if there's some nerves. I like feeling that I wanted to know him in it. You Know Yeah Whoa what was your parents biggers now my dad and drink it all and my mom yes my mom's Scottish man it was like part of the culture brothers and sisters little brother he's now. He's thirty five years younger woman. Okay Yeah Yeah so get back to. When did you get into comedy. I went to school at UC Santa Barbara. I know out of school. You realize realized there could be a game show called what I don't know about Andrew Lot of Eli did you were you cogs. When you started to kind of keep your life apart. Honestly my approach was like why the fuck my so interesting that like people that don't know me. She just sit there and let me talk to them about my life like I. I just never I thought they. I thought you need to earn that. You know like I'll tell you what that's not. That's not a bad. It's not a bad insight because when I was younger and I did specials I I think I think you do a lot of writing learning to right and then you find your voice and then for some us your voice you know find quicker and for me I didn't. I took me getting older to go. I'm GonNa talk about just me like but but that's why people love you right they they love you for who you are and you open yourself up to them and you're very vulnerable and they can latch onto that right and there's like this authentic person sitting there listening to where like watching right and but you are fans are coming out to see you. You know which is what we all want our career right but I think for like the brand new comic that goes up at the show really hard for him to go out and talk about himself. You're right you know my my was at the dentist and then whatever like even when when most people are doing like family related lady humor usually the family really humor has to do with like their culture and people who share that culture relate to that right not just like you gotta be at different level where you were talking about taking your daughter to school. That's a different level as you said this. I went one of the big slams. gay comics get. Is that the just talk about being gay or what it's like to be gay when they're young right and then a lot of times times when you see a gay comic who's just doing standup. Who's just being funny. A lot of us will go and and I'm I'm not saying just put my when I was young when I was starting when you saw gay coming that you didn't even know his gay and then at the end you're like he didn't even talk about being gay. You're like Oh. He's like a comic and the and and then now you look at it and you're like like there's some gay comics cummock shows like are we stayed start talking about. I feel about it at all. Imagine how fucking much that sucks that like the hardest thing in your life I imagine as as a gay dude is coming out right the mom you come out. You GotTa do that over and over again. Every time you go on stage like if like for me that that's why. I always assume that there's like the super flamboyant gays that's their version of coming out without saying it. It's like if I'm in in fucking pink shorts and rollerblades. You know I'm gay so I don't have to go. Hey I'm gay but a guy like for example like Tim Dillon that you would never assume is gay. Hey Malaria comic. He's got to let everyone know he's gay and then when he says it may come on gay he says it like that. You're like are you. What's going on here. The verse Diomede Rogin I think me and a couple of people texted should any of US tax Joe. Let him know he's gay like not. The Joe at Joe's not that kind of like hateful guy and he would never say anything right but it is an interesting sidebar to know of Tim when you meet him up shut up remember. I remember being a little heartbroken program when he was gay matters. I don't go out and chase tail yeah. I like. I was like Oh..

"South African man escapes. Jaws of WALE. This baller from the guardian like the Bible's Jona, a South African marine conserve conservationist has narrowly survived after being caught in the jaws of a wail skies names Raynor's ship, which is unfortunate unfortunate unfortunate. Wow. He's fifty one. Don't lift shrimp is this reminds me of shut out to the NBA fans out there from the nineties this guy Rainer was swept into the mouth of a large Bryde's whale off the coast of South Africa, specifically off the coast of the South African town of port. Elizabeth he was snorkeling, and he was filming a sardine run. This guy's a an award-winning conservationist. He's a some kind of what he would sardine run expert or something he he's an authority on sardine tracking and the predators that follow the sardine runs is ship. So that explains what he was doing out there. Don't know how you get into that as a profession, but I also don't know how you get into this profession what I do. So who who's to judge? Anyway, this guys out. There is doing his thing. He's filming sardine run. And suddenly finds himself inside of a wail his wife whose name is silky. S I. Okay. And if otographer just had to watch on in horror from their boat that they chartered to watch this sardine run, which creates a marine feeding frenzy off Africa's southern coast. So the sardine runs bringing all manner of of marine life, right it. It's a fascinating experience for Tigers. Like this to go down there and and study or whatever, but it brings in a lot of marine life in one of the marine life is Wael. Right. The whale came through trying to get some sardine next thing. You know, Shimpo must becomes a meal. Here's his quote, I felt some pressure around my waist, and I immediately knew what had happened. It accidentally included me at its mouth together with its main meal the sardines holy shit ship and award winning conservationist with twenty plus years. Experience said the ordeal lasted a matter of seconds rather than the three nights that Jonas spent in a whale stomach. According to the bible story, I loved it in the guardian literally says, according to the bible story like they're using the bible. As as source just never the way. I've I mean as a Christian guy of the bible the bible to me. So I would never say like according to the bible, but it's just anyway sneaker here, nor there own important factor. The story he continued the whale realized its mistake and open its mouth releasing me. I was washed out with what felt like tons of water from its mouth. He said, I bet it felt similar to like if you let yourself get caught up in the wake under the toe or whatever the undertow when you're walking around in the in the ocean. And it kinda spins you round, and you're just kind of flailing. Uncontrollably. I bet it was like that these Wales birds Wales specifically can weigh up to thirty tons when they're mature. And they typically eat krill and fish. So our guy here Rainer ship. He finally reaches the surface. He takes a breath, and then he just goes on and rejoins his fellow snorklers who were completely unaware of the unfolding drama. He said, quote, we swam back to the vessel climbed up. Check define the camera were. Okay. No, broken bones. No cracked ribs. Wall was good pumped with adrenaline not wanting to miss the bait. Ball action. I went back into the sea. This time looking for sharks..

"Hang out. It's going to be giving. Dynamite is gonna giving the best thing ever. President Trump says the Democratic Party is anti Israel and anti Jewish. Mr President for for calling it out. I think the Democratic Party is way too coddling of these the anti-semites out there. And when they were given an opportunity to call out anti-semitism, they didn't do it. They balked, and we all like that. By the way, it is International Women's Day. We are celebrating women internationally and domestically sadly, John you just came in with a very specific piece of music. You wanna show the audience with that piece of music was it you just came in with. It was it was air wolf. Jan Michael Vincent dead at seventy three or seventy four depending on. I seem two different numbers. I have I've seen both as well. Seventy three or seventy four death certificate shows. He died of cardiac arrest in an Asheville, North Carolina. It'll the certificate signed by a doctor says he died of natural causes. No autopsy was performed. He died back on February tenth say, what's. Yeah. He didn't just die like today. He died back on February ten KTLA at a Los Angeles saying in their reporting. It wasn't clear why it took several weeks for the news of the death to surface before it was first reported today by TMZ. Now, remember he was in some some big time movies. He was in nineteen seventy two's the mechanic also starred in one thousand nine hundred ninety eight Hooper where he was a stuntman opposite Burt Reynolds. He won a spot on cosmetic surgeons ten best noses of the late seventies. Do they do they really can you imagine like? Had he been around an active in the nineteen fifties. He could have been on what's my line and his claim to fame would have been. This man has been voted one of the ten best noses by concerns. Guys. Medics surgery magazine, accept it back in the nineteen visiting new cosmetic surgery like I think the way they used to fix your nose is they would they would like they would like duct tape a spoon ear nose. And then a couple of toothpicks on the sides to kinda straighten it out understanding was they they go in there with a. They go in there with one of those pipers and just kind of try to expand the nostril if you had a deviated septum or they put you in the back room with Vinny. Hey, how are you doing? Now, you need to go both ways. He also started in the hundred eighty three television miniseries who doesn't remember this. I remember the winds of war. He was the love interest of a character played by Ellie McGraw. I remember Al Megrahi was quite something back once upon a time. It piled up enormous ratings. They not in the right up, according to a contemporary Associated Press account. He earned a Golden Globe nomination for this in one thousand nine hundred four talking to the Associated Press. He describes his passion for being out on the water said he spent three months out there after wrapping up winds of war sailing, the Caribbean. Nineteen eighty-four. He could very likely have been out there on his boat listening to sailing by Christopher cross on an eight track. I was traveling surfer for years. He said I've been all over the world surfing. I'll be forty in July still like to surf let me go back to them here. You know, he starred opposite Burt Reynolds in nineteen seventy s Hooper I'm gonna guess that when shooting wrapped each night that was a pretty raucous couple of dudes, I'm gonna guess that he and Reynolds when loose on the town were probably pretty active fellows. Eventually it was these folks pass away his surfer like demeanor was overshadowed at times by troubled personal life. He pleaded guilty in one thousand nine hundred seventy drunk driving accident that left him with a broken neck s terrible was sentenced to a rehab program charged in a nineteen eighties. Barroom brawl. One sorry, charged in one thousand nine hundred eighty s barroom brawls, plural. Okay. You don't have to call and tell me in your mind. Do the math total number of barroom brawls. You've been in me would be I think zero I think I was in a bar ones for someone jostled. Never been in elegant actual like a bar, John you're in one where the people they were. They were throwing six guns and people are going through the windows and the. Not quite that. Only happens at Bannon's really Bannon's. Let me tell you about Bannon's you go down there to harbor boulevard. Right. There were harbor boulevard meets meets El Camino real. And that's Bannon's is something. So he got he got into some barroom brawls. He received probation in one and got acquitted in the other. So like the jussie smollet of the eighties. Yes, he didn't stage a crime see there's a difference in a separate case. He was acquitted in one thousand nine hundred sixty hitting a woman, I'm not going make any kind of joke about that sentenced for sixty days sentenced to sixty days to jail in two thousand and Orange County after he admitted to violating his probation by appearing drunk in public and assaulting his girlfriend at the time. Think about this. So we have lost. Jan Michael, Vincent. We lost Stanley. We lost Kristof Saint John from the young and the restless. There's a lot of people. We didn't lose Christopher cross. Really? Luke perry. Family. I mean, that's the shocker of no doubt. That's I think that's like the shocker of the year hands down. I mean, fifty two years old truck. Brooke? Fifty two you can get a stroke. So Jan Michael Vincent gone at seventy three or seventy four. There are competing for whatever reason people are. People are giving them to different ages comments people a about their age Hollywood. But by year, I don't know. It's kind of unusual situation. Jussie smollet has been indicted on sixteen counts and disorderly conduct and a hate crime hoax that coming down today. A grand jury saying sixteen counts at one point twelve. Detectives were were pulled off of other cases to investigate what was not really a crime. Pretty unbelievable. Also, this this note from up in L A because we had been talking about this a couple of days ago. Jim had this anyone of his newscasts Santa Anita has reopened. But not for racing which I don't. So they've reopened but live racing still suspended. So I guess we're just getting the parrot. We're getting the power neutral in the video monitors and the TV delay action. Is that is that what we can? Well, what they're doing. Now is your 'cause they still have all the horses there and the horses got to get out, and they got to walk around jog and stuff. So they're opening up. What's called the training track, which apparently has been deemed, okay, they're letting them jog on it. They're not running on it. Jogging Twenty-one, right? Twenty one. I've got is a twenty one to twenty one died in the last two months. Yeah. So they've definitely got a problem there. So they're not letting anybody on the main track or the turf course until they figure out what's going on. But for now, they're letting them out on the train, and you were pointing out a couple of days ago, this this is pretty much all weather. They think it's all whether you think it's weather related mud. I mean, just the thing never dries out right there. Yeah. The thing the composition of the track has been compromised. So terrible. You would think thinking twenty nineteen they could come up with this surgery to fix the horse. So they're not I don't know how you do it. But they've they've made big strides in Ecuadorian care. But not not to the point where they were. They. That's true. Can't avoid euthanizing them. Now. I know I hate that. That's the worst. Finally, there's this this man needs to count himself lucky. A man from Port Elizabeth town under narrowly escaped being eaten by a whale Reiner. Chimps cherry the wheel Reiner Schimdt fifty one takes tourists whale-watching, and I'll go obey was filled with his legs hanging out of a bride whale's mouth. So this is like something out of Jona via the Old Testament ships wife, silky great name Selke ship, and I'm silky shimmer watched in horror as her husband's head and torso disappeared into the whale's mouth as he was filming a bait ball of sardines in February worry. Some of them say this. He throws the ball of bait at the whale. And then tries to get real close for a close up and that wealth things forget the sardines. I'm having the prime guy. The prime guy right there. After several seconds. This is. Get after several seconds the whale spat out the wet suited snorkeling. Tax damn your pollution. You're pulling that wasn't a person that was part of the trash and the guy clues told me, Chris Chris ward has finally outlawed this rubber in the ocean. It spat him out who said he held his breath while expecting the whale to dive. I cannot imagine a more horrifying way to go. He was filming dolphins dusky sharks gannett's penguins. Comrades goals feeding on the sardines with two security snorklers swimming alongside him when the whale rocketed up through the bait ball. John. That's the name of the new band baseball. The whole world around me got dark, and I felt enormous pressure around my waist in the area of my weight belt, I knew instantly. What happened a Bryde's whale had accidentally included me and its mouth with its meal of the day. Comforting to me was the knowledge that the whale would be unable to completely swallow me into its stomach. I would quit I'm done. I am never going back. That's like, Danny. Should you be thinking about something like that? Well, at least you can't swallow me all the way. No, I wouldn't. I honestly I'd be thinking about something else. I mean, I think I would have. I mean, I think I would have with me like a flare gun and set the damn thing off inside the whale. So he opened up. I mean, I don't know what you did. What are you? Is really scary. And you realize if you go fishing, and so I take my son fishing all the time, you know, and we go out tough point Loma day boats. And you know, you realize when you're out there man, if you go into the drink, you are out of your element, man. Those sea lions are not gonna help you. No one is going to help you you have to swim. God there's no whale out there. This sounds like the equivalent of throwing your bait in the water and then. Yeah. Chasing down the line. Right next door. Compact. Why he would be so close that he would allow them. Okay. You remember really quick member? Like, the mutual Omaha is wild kingdom and the Jacques Cousteau stuff in the seventies. And the big thing was out in a cage, and the sharks would attack the cage while the guys that he's got a side of beef in there and the sharks trying to hit him. I was wondering if you think that door can't opening what are you gonna do?.

"Morning. Captain, Mike glad to be here with you and the real animals nation. Appreciate you. Joining me. I know Saturday morning real animals radio's a little early for people. So I appreciate you joining us. You can follow us. We're also Facebook live at Facebook slash real animals. If you wanna join us there, you could bring your questions there as well. So let's tell you with ocean a three sixty. Let's right. Let's talk about. Let's talk about what ocean aid is what you guys got coming up. What's kinda get our listeners up to speed quicken on what ocean? Eight is. Okay. Glad to so ocean. Aid three sixty is a conservation nonprofit that's focused on Tampa Bay. Okay. And we are. The recipients of a new grant from Noah the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. We're all familiar with sure they've got a program over there called the marine debris program and then make a couple of small grant awards each year to community based nonprofits to do watershed cleanup projects hookah and these grant funds can go anywhere around the country. I mean, it could be Hawaii California Michigan wherever it might be. But we're delighted to say that ocean. Eight three sixty in conjunction with CCA, Florida. Yes. Received this year's grant from the marine debris program for a project that we designed with CCA called the ghost trap rodeo events series. I liked the name. And get a kick off just in time for Halloween. Timing is everything. Yeah. Yeah. So this event series. It's it's going to be set up just like a sport fishing tournament. Like you. And I are very familiar with you and your listeners will be too. I think but instead of weighing in a red fish or mangoes or something like that we're going to be weighing in marine, debris and goes traps were specifically going to be looking for those goes traps, we're also going to be picking up other forms of marine debris while we're out there. So just so people know. Make sure I'm on the right page here. You're talking about ghost traps. We're talking about crab traps that are no longer that have just been left behind. Yeah. Yeah. That's exactly right, Grammy for a variety of reasons. Crab traps. Blue crab and stone crab traps will sometimes go missing whether they break away during the course of a storm or get run over by a boat. That's coming through the channel. Sure. Or they're put out by somebody who think those guys would actually put traps in the channels moon boats, commercial guys, not the commercial guys, they know better. But but guys who decide they're going to go out there for the season and give it a shot. They buy their five traps or whatever. And and maybe they're not too familiar with the process. I have to admit I've been there myself, you know, some people I think put the traps out and then just forget where they put them. Yeah. Yeah. Exactly. Yeah. You know in the process of of working on designing this project. I learned all kinds of things like the fact that commercial stone crabbers, actually, wait their lines said that the lines don't kind of blow out into the current in such a way that a boat could could come by and clip it. Sure, I didn't know that they did that. So they're all kinds of tricks of the trade and everything that guys who are real familiar with the process will use. But when we have a named storm come by like hurricane Irma. Did you have trap losses that are unavoidable? Yeah. So especially in a year like like this year, right after we have a big storm like that a project like this is a real benefit to our community where so many of us are dependent upon the fishery, and and you know, for either commercial purposes are just for our pastime. So do you have a? A mental could you haven't started this yet? Right. Once the first one is the first road, there's going to be six rodeos and all that's right. The first one kicks off on October twenty seventh at fort de Soto who we're going to be rendezvous at the boat ramp. That's going to be our launch site participants which I'm Wrangler. Go out for a four hour for our search. And then they're going to reconvene at the ramp again for a prize ceremony. And you know, just kind of get some payroll and all of that kind of stuff and free refreshments provided by one of our local sponsors and Saint Pete the left Bank bistro. Yeah. So it's going to be a really neat event and the prizes that we've that we've compiled together with CCA and our project sponsors. I mean, we're not old salts king of the beach. You know level yet? Nobody is. Better than that. We've but we've got we estimate we're going to have just over twenty five thousand dollars of retail valued prizes. Away over the course of those six events, and I think that that's a a remarkable change in this type of conservation programming. Sure. Because in the past that was come on out. You know, we'll we'll give you sticker, whatever. And and honestly, I think that one of the coolest parts about this project is the fact that whereas projects of the past, you know, kind of have a look to them the big floppy hats, the sandals with the knee high socks and the whole autobahn society. And I love those guys that I don't have anything against that. But I wanted to do something that was like shallow water angler driven activate those guys that know the watershed intimately you're gonna love it care about it. And know it they've got the right boats to do it. They've got the right sunglasses to see it and to activate those guys to get out and do something positive about the watershed after this year that we've all had. Yeah, it's been a it's definitely been an interesting year. I think you know, you mentioned Irma. Of spearheading. And starting this whole thing I think Irma had a lot to do with our red tide issues. Especially with them being so severe we've had some red tide. The last couple of years even before Irma. But. Her did her damage for sure. So. On a on a guestimation, obviously. Because this is the first time you've done this. That's right. It says here my notes, you're aiming for seven hundred fifty traps. Yeah. Yeah. It's a lofty goal. But we've got a we've got a approach that we're planning that we think is going to allow us to get up into that neighborhood Hooker. So as I mentioned, we're doing the six events, and we're hoping to have somewhere in the neighborhood of twenty five votes come out and join us with us. And we think that those those guys who are and women, of course, who are very familiar with the watershed. We think they're going to be able to turn in some debris to us and some traps and everything sure and those events are spaced one month apart from each other between the end of October in the end of March. But in addition to the six one day events are ocean aid three sixty team is going to be out on the water, and we're going to be searching on a daily basis. So we're going to be doing it continuously at we're going to be employing everything from visual searching along the shorelines and everything. On when when the tide drops out, and that kind of stuff, and we're also going to be employing things like like, lobster sledding. You know, like down in the keys tell a sled, and that's how you snorkel and a mask, and you you get down there with T snorklers may be in. You're searching for lobster. We're gonna be doing the same kind of technique. But instead of lobster. We're going to be looking for traps interesting. And you know, I think when people I'm guilty. There's just now this morning in in my brain, you said trap. I think float right? How hard can this be? We just drive route. We look for the floats and nobody, but we're just we're looking for the traps themselves. Yup. And then it runs through my brain as many times as I've run shallow Tampa Bay that you'll have a crab trap out there. You didn't even know was there because I'm no longer has a float. That's right, which turns it into a ghost let let's do a little experiment here. When you think back over the places that you run on a regular basis. Can you think of any place where you've seen the the shadow of a ghost trap sitting down there? Oh for sure. Yeah. Especially especially the guys like me that have towers. Yeah tower. So you see a lot of stuff were as a matter of fact, when you're running shallow, you when you look over there, and you see the ghost rapper who that's a good thing. I'm not right there because of that. And I've had those end up it was a long time ago. But I had one ended up in my prop having to get into the water in untangle that wire del trap out of your prop is not a lot of fun. I I I ended up running over a line. There was no buoy. But I ran over a trap and line down in the keys. I had the same experience to get in the water and deal with a lot of our listeners that exact experience, I think so too. Yeah. I mean when I was working with the CCA team. Frank guide us over there. Ryan gorski. Oh, you know, I thought I talked to them about it. And I said gosh, you know, I I've been fishing this bay my whole life, and I've got all kinds of trout flats that I'll go out and drift or mangrove edge. Israel, go up and plug for snuck or whatever. And I've seen these traps. I said I bet other guys like me have. And could they've got a head start. If they want to come out and win a great prize. Like, a power pole would be given away angle coolers Costa sunglasses, all of that? Maybe they'll think to themselves. Hey, I've got a head start. I know where three traps, I know five traps are right now. It should be knocked this thing out. You know, I think it resonates especially strong from.

Had real animals dot com so I, wasn't able to have. It that's why we've always been real animals fishing team dot com but luckily they came. To a human price and. We were able to pick that up so real animals, dot com and I'm. Giving the whole website kind of a face lift some new. Life so be looking for that come down the pipe as well let's get. A safe boating tip of the week with our holiday, weekend here nobody. Better to talk to? Them a. Good friend cabin, Jim. Fogler Jimmy how are you. Pal I'm great kept. Mike, cab Jeff good to hear you guys it's more about Jimmy hey I wanna talk about the fact that it's. Going to be a like a gazillion both out myself included weekend hopefully only on the morning Since every afternoon I think it's. Scheduled to rain might crazy but. But in addition to, that I, want. To talk about? Some? Problems that. Have been noted, over. The past few weeks over. The past few weeks, the, coastguard and FW she have made several rescuers if not numerous of divers who drifted away from their vessels and had their boats drift away As I understand it one. One group of drift. Divers had their drift ball come on tide and the boat the ball of course which wasn't on top of the divers Also I understand that there's some concern that the driver of the boat person that was up on top watching the. Ball which was doing what they were supposed to do do not know. How to read a compass nor to tell how where the latte lawn was on the. GPS folks, if you're, going to have a person that's responsible Up above you vote like you are supposed to have, and remember this you're never supposed to leave your vote abandoned at least. One person, should be, in your boat whether you're snorkeling or. Scuba, diving but that person up there has got to have the knowledge to help you if there's a problem they've got, to know where you are they've got to know, how to read the latte lawn they've got to be able to operate the radio and or the boat it doesn't. You know they've got to be helpful for you Also I'd. Recommend highly, that that snorklers put a about a Maybe twenty five to fifty foot polyurethane rope a ski ropes fine attached Joe baller life jacket out behind the boat in case you're, snorklers come back to the boat and as they're getting in they slip off the ladder or they can't hold on the boat because of the current that current up at crystal river last, weekend got to be really swift one one thirty full moon and it would have been really easy to. End up way behind the boat and our missed vote altogether So you know we've got to help these people we gotta think ahead to think, of things that might happen before they happen so that you know we don't have some fatality or somebody you really get hurt up this great stuff especially on this holiday weekend Jimmy as, always thanks a lot guys for the coast guard auxiliary and Saint Pete Jim Fogel be safe out there Voting gimme thank you brother good stuff, let's try to jump on. Real, quick let's go to dentists in Sarasota Dennis how are you oh great talk. About a program of unintended consequences Anyway I wanna give a shout out to Jeff because I've known him ever since he moved to Sarasota and he's been a great advocate for fishy with lawyers and the, environment and maybe he, could talk a little bit. About, the, use of lures because we're, coming up, to that time of. Year when they work. Almost better, than, most of. The time no doubt about it and. We'll definitely do that Dennis you've. You're, always a great? Caller, my. Friend we appreciate very much take care Well done A little props for captain. Page, break yeah, that again like I said in, the open, you know one of the true in my opinion legends down. That way and he turned that through all of his hard work with CCA and with artificial in the seminars and just doing it the right way in and out every. Single day one of our favorite people Cam, Jeff page we've got about another thirty minutes in. The show we're going to get captain LIZA FitzGerald and captain. Jimmy how are you hey good morning, good morning morning. Dave good morning I. Wanna talk about die flags and how important it is we most voters, know that you must carry a red and white die flag on the. Highest point of your boat dive has got to be at least twenty. By twenty four when you've, got divers in the water. And. For. You divers and snorkellers you've gotta stay within a hundred. To. Three hundred feet, around, that boat and. You also should? Carry, a floating. Flag and a, whistle. With you There's a Tennessee. For for snorklers to get behind the boat they're cruising along picking up scallops are looking. For bugs and they drift behind the boat and out of the conference of. The die flag you gotta try to stay in front the smart people and stay in front of. The boat and that way when they get tired and they're ready to, go back to the boat they can just hover up and the Kerner. Went will take them back to the boat but the important thing is You've gotta gotta make yourself. Seen out there in that water you boaters have got to. Get down to an idle. Speed not a no wake slower I mean you just you just have to have control of your boat and. That's it when you're near divers we can't we can't have anybody chopped up out there I. Haven't heard of anybody yet this year but we sure don't want it I will tell, you this from being in crystal river last weekend and on our scalloping yearly trip with. Captain Mario Castillo up there I was -solutely stone cold shocked and I don't know why but I was the the amount of boats is ridiculous I mean it's ridiculous they're. Right on top yeah I spent some time just sitting in the, boat chilling had a cold beer. Was just relaxing knowing that I had, a another captain, in charge for the. Day having Mario handle, all that, stuff and I just was sitting there thinking oh my God. There is, boats everywhere and as, I'm, watching you, know Beth and Mario were in the water chasing the scallops around and I I was just, thinking man, you know it's so easy, to make that mistake, out here because there's people everywhere Yeah really, got, it you, really got to pay attention this time of year absolutely yeah it's it You don't want to be a scholar at this. Time. Of. The year Oh you don't wanna be careful. You wanna be extra careful anytime anytime anywhere you see. A die flag you want to divert away the heck away from it And. If you're. Within three hundred feet of it in and open water you. Wanna get down to a slower. Than no wake you don't want accidentally. Bumped somebody there no doubt I got. A lot for the coastguard Zoe in, Saint Pete Jim fobel be safe out there thanks to me good, stuff right there always from one of our favorite captains we got a. Minute or two? Here, and I think the must've. Struck a nerve with our good friend Chris Johnson because our like our. Favorite lakeland marine biologist is back Chris how are you Hey guys not so much struck a, nerve as when you only have so much time he can only, make things so clear I just wanted to make sure that you understand. The red tide The blooms forms way offshore. But once it approaches are. Shore. And it's been moving south and east mostly over time it's like a big old all you can eat buffet with. The nutrients. We have coming from our land. So we are feeding itself absolutely as it comes to close where land it's just getting sand and is multiplying because. It is. Not limited by nutrients I got I just wanted to be clear it's not the are run up is not a problem with the red tide, it just that's, not, where, it forms I Gotcha so if I do do we think that if it, just if it formed offshore and we. Weren't using the amount of fertilizer that we're using would it then Not be as strong when, it got here That is my opinion yeah that'd be running out. Of the nutrients that got stirred up offshore the led to the bloom in the first place It's an opinion we need to do a lot more, work but I just. Wanted to be clear that yes our. Runoff from land is. Helping, it grow and maintain it self and maybe get worse but Ocotober. Feeding Alcober he's not feeding this or it is Certainly, it is okay it's just a different algae the, green algae coming out of lake Okeechobee that's being said by those nutrients is a different, algae then that red. Tie that's coming in from offshore Gotcha I. Know. It's, complicated that you know what Mike we'll talk about, it. Off off year. I. Made some flash cards, for. Shaun Harper because he's having a hard time. Understanding it to he keeps getting asked question yeah well, anything I can do to learn more on it. Especially Flash cards would, help because that way you can just claims, status and say oh, okay wait a minute this. Is that one anyway thanks guys thank you all, right such interesting stuff such interesting stuff for sure we'll, take another break here again our good friend. The mad snooker captain Dave Palmer Lou one of the. Best in the business a true. West coast Florida legend is my guest if, you've, got questions on how to catch him. If you can still catch him where to catch him why to catch them all that good. Stuff he is the man. Talking. Fishing, on the other side we'll be back nine.
