Rain, Potential Flooding, Landslide Threat: Washington Forecast

"Is going to stay rainy for the next two day or so, But by the time we get to Thursday, it looks like we might have some sunshine breaking through Friday. It appears we're reigning once again and all through the week with the exception of today about 50 is what we can expect to see on the temperature gauge. He's seen his share of floods over the years, and this week he's getting ready for rising water levels. I've got Pigs in my greenhouse, I'd probably have to move. So I start thinking about where everything is where the water levels will be and what needs to be brought to high ground And the next thing you know, this area's an island. Larry back, remembers major floods of previous years and hopes people never drive into flooded roads. After all, it only takes about a foot of water to float most vehicles. The main thing is just You know if you can't see the road in front of you don't drive into it. It takes 30 days for the policy to take effect. What insurance If you live in a flood from area there quicker, you'll be protected from potentially large losses from a flood to say all along Washington waters. Minor flooding is possible due to a combination of low pressure and king tides. There's a huge celebration of life and considering the Horrific things that the world is going through I feel that nature's very resilient and we will make it through this and the journey that brought you to this place is amazing it starts with you in Snoqualmie up and beautiful pot of Washington state in the cascades falling off a horse. Tell us about that experience. It was during a time when I began to question my role in life. Those teenage years where You're beginning to rebel and figure out your own identity and Where you WanNa go with your life and it just sort of woke me up and so I was thrown off my horse when I was getting ready to compete and I was knocked unconscious. And there's this whole segment of my life that I can't recall and during that time I had this experience where I was out of my body looking down at my body in the hospital bed and feeling just this incredible piece and seeing the beauty around me in this sort of alternate reality and after I had that experience things really changed for me and it was during that time that I started noticing more. And maybe these things are all around me. But I started noticing more life that was abundant around me but would also come about show itself in certain times and that were. I couldn't describe it other than synchronicity than just decided to go and he wrote this note deal. Mom saying mom. Don't worry about me. I'll be alright. I'll be back before school starts love Doniger and you just hit it off your sister and a friend had of that occurred you at the time to just feel like I gotta get out of here at felt like wow. This was an opportunity to go on an adventure and do something other than what were sort of programmed to do which is go to school. Get a degree get a job. Enter into the workforce and at that time that wasn't my passions were not being ignited So I was looking for a way for my passions to be ignited and also just to figure out what was out there in the world and it was a very rebellious thing to do and I hope my kids never do that but it showed me a lot of things that were not very positive it could have been really detrimental to my to my future and I'm just thankful I must have had some someone watching over me that I made it safe through putting myself into dangerous situations. I mean I feel very comfortable putting myself in to survival experiences in nature and other things in nature however when it comes to humans I have lost. My trust sounded really exciting. And you know doing things like dumpster diving for all the food you needed but at the same time you assaulted. They really wanted to share that part of my journey because in particular. There's so many young adults out there. Teenagers that go down a really dark path and they their form of rebellion might be sex or drugs and I wanted to share that. That's not always The smart thing to do. And there's other ways that you can feel what it is you're searching for and you can experience life without putting yourself in those types of experiences and doing the things to your body that could be irreversible

another another former former democratic democratic presidential presidential candidate candidate is is endorsing endorsing Joe Joe Biden Biden in a video on Twitter California senator Kamilla Harris threw her support behind the former vice president saying quote I believe in joke we need a leader who really does care about the people and who can therefore unify the people and I believe Joe can do that and with us right now was ABC news political analyst Steve Roberts Steve what a difference a week makes it did you anticipate Joe Biden picking up this mode the momentum this quickly no I have not I don't think anybody did I I think what we're what we're seeing though is a fascinating phenomena based on one word and that word is fear it's fear of Donald Trump and fear of Bernie Sanders Joe Biden has not been reborn as some useful charismatics move talking energetic candidates Joe Biden today is still the same Joe Biden that people have a lot of doubts about two weeks ago two months ago two years ago the difference is that Democrats have so desperate so frantic to find somebody who can beat Donald Trump that they decided that day either as a group and individually as voters and as candidates they'll camel Harris being an example of of having to rally around somebody and then choosing between Biden and Sanders the fear of Bernie Sanders is pulling the party too far to the left so there's a lot of energy around the Biden candidacy right now but in my view it's largely negative energy it's driven by fear it's driven by desperation there are not a lot of Democrats even this morning jumping up and down in Saint Joe Biden's gonna be a great candidate a great president but this negative energy is very powerful and that's what's driving this trend do you think it's now his to lose or is it too early to say that definitely has to lose end up and I think it's gonna be very difficult for Bernie Sanders to rebound here the one variable of course the one no wild card is by himself as I say he has not been report he's still the guy who can show astounding lapses of judgment he's still the guy who could make gaffes he's still the guy who can show his age very clearly he's still the guy who can appear fumbling and uncertain and in debates with Bernie Sanders and interviews it's still entirely possible for him to make damaging mistakes I think a lot of Democrats even if they rally around by they're holding their breath and hoping that Biden will get its act together and I've seen some signs a few signs of Byton improving on the stop I think he's shown a little bit more energy I think the campaign line about I'm the candidate of those who have been left behind it counted out is a defective and powerful line really echoes of a bill to written of nineteen ninety two the comeback kid although Biden's hardly a kid he's more the comeback teaser than the comeback kid and also this line of of of appealing to the concepts of dignity and civility and normalcy I think they provide a fairly stark contrast to the president who's in the oval office now but Biden is still Biden it was all of his flaws but at this point he's the Democrats best hope and it's gonna be very difficult for Sanders to capture Steve thanks for your thoughts again this morning ABC news political analyst Steve Roberts it's also worth noting that this morning one of the former "Bill o'neil at the editor's desk daddy with us as we take a look at some of our top stories authorities say a woman was drunk when she drove her large family off in northern california cliff last month in her wife and several children had large amounts of a drug that can cause drowsiness in their systems police had previously said they believed the hart family died in a suicide plunge from a scenic overlook rough start to the weekend travel at snoqualmie pass with an accident in the eastbound lanes east of the summit snow falling all of it adding up to last check a fourteen mile backup after months of arguing back and forth to of washington's most strident adversaries met this week to debate the future of the consumer financial protection bureau senator elizabeth warren who first proposed the agency in the midst of the great recession and mick mulvaney the current director of the agency who has led efforts to roll back regulations the washington post for name earl is covering this and spoke with komo's jeff pohjola what exactly does the consumer financial protection bureau do with an agency created after the financial crisis look out for people in their financial transaction so we have a credit card a bank account a mortgage or get any kind of loan copd if the walked dog on that they're trying to make sure that financial institutions big banks don't take advantage you've you in those relationships so what's the disagreement here well he was started with these lofty goals but republicans from the very beginning have had concerns about its power they said that it's had too much power that's been too aggressive and then on the other side you've had people like senator warren who actually came up with the idea for the pb and feels like it's doing a great job and needs to continue to be independent and can you need to continue to be very aggressive so that's the the essence of the disagreement that the republicans and the trump administration basically think that this agency has been too aggressive has gone too far and needs to be rolled back and there are.
