Even our geopolitics way are now the number one energy producing in the world. And I'm not gonna lose that well. Dreams on windows yet few understand this place. Standing up for Milwaukee. This is the mark Belling late afternoon show 11 30. W s on a lot of discussion. Presidential campaign, including this phenomenon off the intensity of the support among Trump's supporters. Now I will grant you the father away. I've talked at length about how there's just no intensity of support of the side of the Democrats for Joe Biden, where their intensity is they hate Trump. So When you talk about the enthusiasm factor. I don't discount that. Some Democrats, who are not enthusiastic about voting for Biden might be enthusiastic about voting against Trump. President Trump is indeed a polarizing figure. However. And the following cabin is based on The advantage I have of years of experience experience of covering politics. There's an old saying about The devil you know, is opposed to the one you don't know It doesn't fully apply to Biden because Biden has been around the scene for so long that everybody feels as though they know him. People who Intend to vote against someone as opposed to primarily vote for someone. They're more easily moved. For instance. Let's suppose you have Somebody on the Democratic side who just loves Joe Biden had been a fan of him forever and ever and ever. They've always wanted Joe Biden to be president three times he ran before they wanted to know when they'd just love Joe Biden loved Joe Biden loved Joe Biden is the greatest guy in the world. He's sharper than people think He's the kind of Democrat they want, and they're patching it about him. Now so much like a trumpet Rael Rael Rael about how much they hate Trump. If one of those two voters is likely to switch and vote for Trump, which is it going to be? It's going to be the second one. Let me explain why Jeff That voter who despises Trump Comes to the conclusion. But the other guy is just his bad or worse. That's what you could move them. It's very hard. To get somebody off of A candidate that they just love. Very hard to get. You know me. It's an example of many ofyou off of Trump. If you could draw attention to the negatives of the other candidate, though, People will then be choosing to vote in this lesser of two evils are voting. The self interest of Trump keeps bringing up the 401 case. And what's likely to happen to the market and the economy if the Democrats come in and rights taxes and regulate everything again. It's why they're trying to raise the negatives of Biden with regard to the party. He is a member of Best case scenario for the Democrats. Biden serves out one term, but it's totally co opted by the left, especially if they get the set it You've got a party of Marxists and freaks over there. Again. You raised that point. And that person who doesn't like trump suddenly because you know, I like a bunch of other than coal. But we're doing pretty good as a country plus biding his party's about Jack hooks. You could move that person off that position. Next thing I want to move to you like this. I'm gonna make fun of grafted. You know, you like to make fun of grafted, don't you? Yes. You enjoy that. When you show up in Grafton, you ever get a degree from people in Grafton? You have family there and you have to be careful. But you probably looked at your nose, is it that you think of what you people you haven't made it yet or whatever you have to live and grafted. You don't even live in Cedarburg. You live. I hear people who say that you gloat. You essentially live in west bed. I think I just people tell me these things. I mean, well, yeah, They're people who are jealous of you Burn your claim, and you live in Cedarburg. They don't think you really live in Cedarburg. Hey, lives that attract home and Jackson. I hear that from people. Somebody said that once I do it, all right. Pulse is there is a trip. Well, yeah. Can you see the trailer park from where you live, anyway? I get this solicitor Do not draw conclusions till you hear me to the entire story. Mark. My daughter and I left our downtown Milwaukee jobs early this afternoon to vote. The village of graft and website says in person voting is from a M to 4:30 P.m.. When we got there, six others were walking out and saying we're too late. The sign says they closed at four o'clock. I'll be calling the village called about to complain, but thought I would. You might want to alert your listeners in our area. Thank you, and she signs it. I immediately figured out what happened here. Because stroke or not a year and a half ago. I'm still sharper than the average guy. What do you think happened here? They said it not after earlier I I just think that that probably didn't happen. Here's what happened. I went to the village of Grafton's website, and it does say a M to 4 P.m.. I would prefer they stay until five. You know, given credit eight is before a lot of community start. You know, grafted Like many of our committee. It's not really a both sort of a bedroom gets a suburban community and for some of the people who live or work, rather work at Milwaukee and still do in person work. You know, they appreciate that being ableto get at the end of day, maybe bug out of work a little bit earlier. Maybe your work ends at four and slip in. On the other hand for the places that started nine that obsolete the people who can come in A little bit earlier than that. I'd prefer they do 8 to 5 in the clerks stick around for an extra hour to handle it. But I'm not. We've had many communities that are way worse than 8 to 4. So I'm not going to condemn it. Village a graft. So you're saying when a woman says she saw the website ate that it was open toe for 30, right? I figured out what happened. Have you figured it out yet? I went to check the town a Grafton's website and there they are. 8 34 30, She and here's the other thing. Paul you village graft into upset looks just like the top. I mean, they have the same color decided and so on. And I'm sure she knows which one she lives in. But if you probably just typing, grafted or whatever in the search engine, it can take you to the wrong one. And they look almost identical. This So I think the village has had on the website all along four and that either she or somebody looked up the second We saw the town's ours, which are a little bit often. While others and this's like I say, if you have people that are trying to do something, then you're ours should accommodate them. And if somebody that's actually sitting in the building open the door, there's no law that says that they can't You could allow them to vote whenever you would. You know, the early voting period. They just have to end it by. You know the end of the end of the wake. There's you could have the hours as you want, as you seem to something, some communities with the very restrictive ours and others. That do not. But I'm not going to rip on the village of grafted for this. But if you're checking your hours and you go about the city or atomic sure you're on the Web site of the I've said, I don't think towns and cities and villages should have the same name, and nobody agrees that beyond that, literally. Nobody agrees with that. But I mean, there's almost everybody. Now there's like the city of P walkie in the village of pea walkie that you've got that the two seater burgs in the brook Fields addict. In most cases, it's easy enough to decide the one is the rural area and once not, But, you know, portions of the town of Wacha Shaw are rather commercial and rather urbanized. And same thing with Brooke Field. There are parts of the town of Brookfield that are At a couple of major commercial steps. The city of P Walkies actually the rural part more rural of the areas and it's the village that is The urbanized one. But it does lead to this confusion where People may not always know what they're talking about..

That's great. You should be doing that stuff. If you're not there's something wrong with you. But don't neglect your workouts. Don't start eating like shit and put on the baby weight that guys have tendency of doing don't neglect your friends note. Neglect, your hobbies just change your schedule around a little bit? You know, tied nothing up the very first thing we talked about his time management, understand that. You've got this new little liability, right? And that's what it is too. Little consumer. That's wonderful consumer. I'm not saying that. But that's what it is consumes time attention energy, etc. And you're gonna have to plan out your schedule in order to keep yourself as a priority in you, are you don't wanna burn yourself out. I know a lot of young fathers who do because they invest so much time into their wives and their children that they eventually go burn out the only thing that I would add is is to be intentional. I think sometimes an there's obvious in extreme to this, but I think sometimes I don't know. I, I don't think a lot of guys are, are being intentional enough and taking fatherhood serious. So just be intentional identify what it looks like to be a good father figure out what you need to do. You personally, what kind of man, you need to be to be a good father in a good supporting husband and be intentional with it. I don't know if you can prepare other than prepare for being prepare yourself and, and to just take serious. So you'll figure it out. Don't worry. I worry about that. I mean you'll figure it out, but it's it's not easy and it's tough. And, and you can spend tons of time, quote unquote, preparing them. What you have your child, you'll be like, oh, wait. I didn't see that. So just just be be willing to pivot and. And be intentional with your time. Yup. Well, said, well said, all right. Calvin slauson out of working hard and getting through the tough moments with daily task long-term goals when is it the right time to take a breather and rest before getting back into the grind? You know, I those all those guys he say that sound really cool on Instagram or there, little means they put together. But look, I mean there's a time to rest, right? Yeah, there's a time to recover. In fact, it's been proven that physically mentally emotionally than men, that don't rest and recover are less effective when they are working and getting after it. So to say that you never should is, is ridiculous. But we are capable of so much more than we give ourselves credit for. We caught out way too early. I was at the gym this morning, working out. "Southbound six five after slauson collision there also in the center lane stopped from Washington. I'm Marco werman. This is the world on this Veterans Day holiday. It's worth remembering that about eight percent of all living Americans have served in the military at some point in their lives. Veterans, of course, all have their own stories about why this served here's one from Nate Tehrani. He served in an elite unit in the US navy, the world's Monica Campbell has his story. Nate to Ronnie was a child eight years old when he was at school and started hearing gunfire. These religious police soldiers stormed into the school, essentially, grab this by the SCRUFF of the neck and through us all into this round courtyard. It was Tehran nineteen eighty-five right in the middle of the Iran. Iraq war, right in sort of some of the most difficult and bloody period of that war. But when we went there was a temporary ceasefire, and there was a thought at the time. I believe that the war wasn't going to resume. Normally Nate lived in New Jersey with his parents who were born in. Iran, but that year his family went to Theron to spend a few months with relatives. So that morning Nate was at a bilingual international school flags from different countries in the hallways. France, the US Nate says it was a target for extremists. And they took all the flags that were in the hallways. And the American flag in particular, set them on fire and sent those flags burning into the courtyard and demanded that the kids who were there chant married bar on Rico, which is death to America. And stomp on the burning flag, I was filled with what I would describe as real righteous indignation. I think because of that sense of I'm an American, and I have something that I need to stand up for here. And now and even at eight years old, I refused refused to chant death to American I refuse to stop on the flag Nate and his family returned to the US. And Nate says that experience seated his desire to join. The US military. I knew that I wanted to join the military. I knew I wanted to wear the American flag on my arm at that young age. I knew I was in cub scouts, and I was so so filled with pride to where that cub scout uniform he enlisted in nineteen Ninety-seven during his first year in college and eventually he joined the US navy presidential ceremonial honor guard assigned to funerals at Arlington National Cemetery or the White House a prestigious unit and Nate was told he was one of the teams I Muslims they appreciated. The fact that they had any Ronnie in American Muslim American as a part of this unit. The images that we see our are the opposite the images that we see our of this sort of ambiguous hooded villain in the desert somewhere. That's out to get you the truth of the matter is that American Muslims have served in every war since the American revolution that this country has ever. Fought in two thousand six Nate left the military. He says his family needed help with his ailing grandfather, he's forty one now and back in school getting a degree in psychology. He lives in Tucson, Arizona near the US Mexico border where troops are deployed now responding to a group of Central American migrants heading north that President Trump calls a foreign invasion. I asked Nate if he didn't list again. Now, he said he would, but it gets more complicated. When I ask would if it meant being deployed to the border. That's a really hard question. I, you know, I'm not in that position now, and I'm not on active duty or.

Welcome to handle on the law yes sir This is my question I lived in I live in the city of San Diego County, of Los Angeles in the northeast, section of the, city which is, Valerie by Arcadia purity other larger cities what has happened the sidewalks in my neighborhood are getting so degraded that. They're causing a hazard when people, try and walk away I discovered this when I retired I also developed the doctor told me to walk. More wife and I got out. Only. To find it the sidewalks. Are just so bad okay content I contacted the city the city has. Told me that because these are not really, a sidewalk they are an asphalt sidewalk if. You, would, they are not responsible for keeping. Them, up Sidewalks or between. Two schools oh wait a minute hold on it they're not. A sidewalk there asphalt but do they. Look like a sidewalk absolutely the act like a sidewalk first of all I've never heard I've never heard, of asphalt sidewalks I've never seen, one of those, it's always concrete, so you're telling me if you have a normal sidewalk that you see you've. Got the front yard then the. Sidewalk and then a piece of, grass and then the street right yeah okay kind of like a main thoroughfare okay but it's still the. Main thoroughfare but it's still that. Way. It's it's basically acts like. A sidewalk the ground you know the the front yard sidewalk the the. Green and then the street so the only, difference is it's asphalt and it's not concrete Interesting and. That is does, that belong to. The city who owns that, I. Would guess it would be the. City unless they. Say it's all private property that it's is my thoughts I believe it, belongs to the city okay, and I got I contacted them and and one of the other questions, I? Had. For. That I have an Email that they, are not, responsible because, they are not sanctioned, sidewalk, is basically what they're giving me oh. Interesting I don't even know what a sanction sidewalk is by Yeah That it's the fact that he's a poured concrete rather than. This I don't, know if concrete if a sidewalk is defined as having b. Comprised of concrete, and no other material I think you have, to look at I the. I don't even know why. The ordinance ordinance say sidewalks are comprised of that's a really interesting point I, so I don't even know if there's been a lawsuit filed research it but I'd be surprised if. There was a lawsuit filed saying that, this is a sidewalk and asphalt sidewalk is the same as concrete sidewalks but for the fact that it's concrete and it'd be very well be an, ordinance or even a statute that deals with it and define. Sidewalks concrete then I don't even know where the. Hell, you vote this I've never heard of this before by the way Charlie this is a. Weird one, now and that surprises city's trying to. Get out of it of, course they tried to get out of everything Sure More. Thing let me add to this is the fact that I did look up on the Americans with Disabilities, Act and there's a section to that is clearly states in there that the the city's obligation is to maintain a sidewalk that is. There I guess there have looked it. Up they have lifted up also and their their entire. Premise is that because it's ask, fault it's it's not a. Sidewalk And maybe not so much the asphalt it's just the fact, that thirty nine it's a sidewalk well okay and I don't know how the hell they deny it's a sidewalk I really don't not. Only that like I said we're borderline. Stand Gabriel and triple city both we'll start denying borderline it's either on it's either in, one city or the other Creek, crosses over it's it's about a mile stretch okay, so goes across the line right correct. Okay well I would think every city is responsible for everything on their side. Of, the. Line so so what do you want to do what's your question what do you want to do as a result of this well I I'm retired now I have nothing but time on my hands who I, approach next I'll take as far as I can I would go to, the city council and they have open hearings open meetings odd definitely I. Would talk to the city attorney and let. The city attorney know that it looks like the cities in violation of the ADA American with Disabilities. Act and you see if there are any organizations out. There, and, I'm sure there are that deal with ADA issues. And the government. And there are even their even. Firms law firms, that deal with it now there's two. Different. Kinds of law firms. They're the kind of law firms that are bunch of predators Sleazeball, law firms that go against small businesses where the, ramp is the wrong the elevation is. The wrong degree is supposed to be at twelve degrees and it turns out. It's, a. Thirteen degrees in their forcing relation and they actually extort the business owners there's those and then there are firms that are on the other side who actually deal seriously with with ADA violations and this looks like, it's one of those so I just do some research and put in, some ADA law firms as search words and see where you go on. That and talk to the city attorney's office. And talk to the council that's where I would okay okay Would it be advisable to take pictures and God yes oh yeah oh yeah I take. All the pictures you. Can. Okay All right all right? Charlie take care interesting interesting? Proposition isn't it and their denial that it's a? Sidewalk. How do. You, point. To a sidewalk say that's not a. Sidewalk This is handle on the law Julie? Slater in the KFI newsroom The fire near Idyllwild has more than twelve thousand acres. "No he's but it that's not what this is about it's about getting guys who again can just play football and he can and that's why he had is at the sort of premium and again there are so few guys getting to the market because teams no they need to retain them that when the guys that do get out there hit free agency they get tons of money i mean that's why it's working this way because the it's almost like a cycle the scarcity is driving this and then because teams don't have a lot of options to choose from they have to overpay for them so it's kinda fascinating it's it's wild like team like the colts they've done almost nothing in free agency but they've gotten guys who can just play football for a combined four and a half million dollars they signed matt slauson for one year three and you hold who's been very hurt but his solid one year one and a half those types of signings i like for offense of wind free agency i agree that you should get guys who can just be reliable starters in order to help your offense function but the premium you have to pay now is just so crazy yeah i mean it's our asia's with lesson number two for you quarterback contracts wrote about this last week dot com teams are now going all in on their rookie contract before they know exactly what their rookie quarterback looks like and what i mean by that is you look at the bears this year just certainly they're going all in on the offense because they realize there's only four or five year window where trubisky is going to be cheap in either to bisky washes out of the league and there's no downside to the fact that you loaded up you to spend a much cap money at his spend anyway or you're going to hit he's going to be a good quarterback and all of a sudden embarrassment to compete in twenty nineteen and i think that maximizing the value.
