"Monday and it is the couple as we get ready for monday. Night football las vegas raiders hosting the baltimore ravens and boy. oh boy. is this going to be a good one. A lot of questions rob. I mean we talked about it. A bit where solomon wilcox. Just all the injuries that the ravens have robbie's going lease. Oh no and he should be. But is that gonna lead to lamar jackson. Running more than their plan was going into. This season could be good on the field but obviously opens you up to more hits. Put you more harms way. So a lot of questions to be at least explored to now. Won't they answered is only week one right. You can't answer too many questions that we won but certainly a lot of injury in this rap. Yeah i just don't know how to read this. The ravens have been unbelievable on opening night. The last three years winning by thirty or more points in their opener. I mean you would think people are loading up on the ravens. I mean like like but you know how skoda doesn't always add up right and it dries up eventually..

History of the Supreme Court

"So to start some general information about the supreme court or Supreme court of the united states is also abbreviated. A skoda's zo. I might throw that in here every now and then make it sound like a man inspired some inside information so the supreme court was formed under article three of the us constitution with its first appointments in seventeen eighty nine so article. Three section one reads quote the judicial power of the united states shall be vested in one supreme court and in such inferior courts as the congress may from time to time ordain and establish so the framers of the constitution delineated neither of the exact powers and prerogatives of the supreme court nor the organization of the judicial branch. As a whole they just kind of set out that it would exist so we currently have nine supreme court justices one chief justice and eight associate justices. This number has fluctuated in his set by statute not by the constitution. In seventeen eighty-nine nine. The court actually had six members. It grew as the country expanded so Originally each supreme court justice was associated with a district court so there were district's in that were regions. Where the coins what happened. So in order to make sure that somebody wasn't getting like you know too much work. They they split them up so sure. But as the country expanded we got seven justices in eighteen o seven nine in eighteen thirty seven and actually ten in eighteen sixty three and then we went back down to seven eight hundred sixty

"The skoda's decision is out the supreme court And it's over. I mean this pretty much dashes trump's election bullshit. They denied the scotus denied a request from pennsylvania. Republicans to block certification of the commonwealth's election results delivering a pretty much a fatal blow to the gop's longshot. Bid to invalidate president elect joe biden's victory supreme court's action is a crushing loss for trump. Who suggested as late as tuesday. He thought the justices including three of his nominees would step in and take his side and flip the election and he continually and falsely suggested. There was massive voter fraud during the election. But they're like nope they issued a one one line order denied with no noted dissent.

"19 Mike Parson has steadfastly refused to require massed Senate state. Now he's cancelled several events. You're never more than 15 minutes away from today's top stories on Arizona's new Station News Sharper Point commentary presented by Schwartz Laser Eye Center, Which woman should President Trump pick for the Supreme Court? Democrats would prefer he not pick anybody. To replace Ruth Bader Ginsburg. But that's not gonna happen. So is there one pick in particular the Democrats should hold their nose in root for root for that. President. Trump announced this one woman's name on Saturday because, while she least represents their political beliefs, she better represents Democrats. Chances of winning elections across the country. Yes. And for that same reason, Martha McSally is rooting that Trump will pick the other woman. Yeah, I know, he says they He still has five ladies on that list. But really, his list of Skoda's picks has been whittled down to two. And while they are both conservatives, one is a little less of a strident conservative, but better helps his chances of getting re elected. We'll talk about whom he might pick in a second. But first why Trump says he needs his confirmed his confirmation of a Skoda before the election? Well, it's because of the election scam that the Democrats are pulling. It's a scam scam will be before the United States Supreme Court and I think having a four for situation is not a good situation if And I think it's very important that we have nine justices, even if you don't buy his allegations that Democrats will try to fix the election like me, I don't think so. It would still be a good idea to have a full Supreme Court. All one has to look at is to be convinced. Well, the 2000 presidential election. We talked to Senator Martha McSally about the Scotus picks yesterday. No. One there's a nomination. Then I'll be getting to know that person and Ah certainly will be having conversations with her and going through the process. So even though she might not say so, Martha McSally definitely wants one particular woman nominated. So, Jim, who are these two women left standing, and how could either one of them be helpful to the Democrats, which one helps make Sally and more importantly, helps Trump More importantly, because since he's making the nomination, he will do what's best for him. Right? Well, you have on one hand, Amy Cockney Barrett, who appeals to religious and non religious conservatives. She's pro life in small, government minded so appealing that it's been assumed for years that she's been groomed for the Supreme Court and because she's going to be on that court for years. She's a can't miss pick for conservatives. But Donald Trump has proven over and over again that he's not really necessarily conservative or at least not Additional small government conservative anyway, and we've been told that he's in it for himself and the other lady. Left on his list is Barbara Lagoa, Cuban American judge from Florida, which he has to win. And who might also help him win the presidency at least a second term in Latino heavy Arizona and Nevada. But he doesn't have to be in it for himself. You can always sell it to the American people in the electorate as hey, if I get another four more years..

Let's check in with Jeff Sloan, founder and CEO of Startup Nation despite like the entrepreneurial tech and start a community here on W. J R Good morning, Kevin. Concern over a potential secondary wave of closures is high among startups and small businesses that have already had to temporarily closed their small businesses. As a result of the pandemic. However, there's an additional element of the report by the U. S Chamber of Commerce and met life that bears highlight. Relating to how minority owned small businesses have been disproportionately impacted by the Corona virus and the accompanying economic fallout. The special report makes clear that when it comes to the concern about whether or not a small business owner might have to permanently closed his or her business to it of three minority owners of small businesses expressed concern over permanent closure. Versus on Lee 57% of non minority business owners. The report also reveals that minority business owners have experienced more difficulties securing a business loan during the crisis than non minority business owners. Now, while there is much work to do yet there was encouraging news from the report that we are making progress specifically that the majority of small business owners have taken action in the fight against racial inequality. With four out of five, saying that making a commitment to fairness and hiring promotion and pay is a priority focus of theirs as business owners. I'm encouraged to see the business community and consumers alike rally around this important issue and to know that progress is being made. Let's all work together to make a more level playing field. "So. Yes. So that one's a pretty I mean. So I'll I'll admit I I kind of agree. I think that it is something that you know religious institutions. It is a constitutionally protected right and I think that if you were to if it was closed or open than it would be more in issue of public health. But when you make the argument that it's safe enough to open than now making the argument that safe. Enough to open, but you have to limit how many people you have specifically in Churches I. think that opens the door for a lot of different a lot of different decisions that could be made. We had a comment that was sent to me. It says I. Think if Skoda's ruled that church can happen outside socially distance with masks on then a lot of people would have. been happy on. So yes. So I think that's something that they could've done to qualify their their ruling. In this case, it's just a blanket statement of you're only allowed to have fifty people. Now I will say that some people would be happy I also think there would be a lot of people that would not be happy I think one of the museum will be happy. That you have the government telling them how to perform their religious practices and I think you would run into the issue too I think that not necessarily that it would lead to this but I think one issue that could come from that is that look at things like the drive up church services that were happening early on that were happening and they were following social distancing protocols. And guidelines but people were still getting fines for attending church in their car and and doing it that way and so I think you may. You may run into case like that. You may not especially after those cases happened, but it could be something that comes up..

"Yes, the court has oh goody. Okay. Well, then this is looking much more favorable. Of course, when you get to the supreme court, you'll have Kennedy anymore. You've got Cavanaugh. This is going to be an issue. Well, we. We have to see what the court is going to say. Yeah. You like to believe that the court is in part is going to do here. True. And we actually don't know what Kavanagh's going to do here because he hasn't ruled on any of these cases Roberts did write the opinion and those concentrate, but again, he punted on the idea whether these cases can be brought or not right at he allowed the Wisconsin case to proceed what he told those guys is you gotta go back and prove to me you were actually injured and then you can come back. So we see it as an open door. And if this court is serious about democracy about what the constitution means. We think it's going to court will rule in our favor. And if they do then that's going to set a standard, and there are going to be you know, states are going to have to start doing the right thing with in drawing their districts. I'm hoping that's what you're saying. That is what I'm saying. And if they don't then we will do. What if they don't? I mean, I think we're going to see a lot more states doing this. But while other states have done this Ohio really is out wire there about five other states that were just as a grievous as Ohio if a court fails to act here than Ohio will go from an outlier to the norm. 'cause everyone's gotta do it. If courts still step in and say this is unconstitutional. You can't do it. This is just horrifying. So I I hope that it goes the right way. If and when it does get to Skoda's, and I kind of hope that it goes there if they're gonna make the right decision. And you know, I'd like to think that I I really would like to think that they're not politically partisan themselves that they actually do want to look at the constitution and evaluate the first in the fourteenth and the arguments that you've made because everybody knows that it's wrong. VW chief's Nazi gaffe angers investors

"Independent. Investors have raised questions about the future. Volkswagen's chief executive Herbert dece after he evaded Nazi phrase in a management meeting last week. John many brand discusses the controversy with Patrick gave. Patrick what exactly did Mr. d say the private meeting to w clock badgers, and he was explaining that the twelve brands within Volkswagen that includes Porsche Audi Skoda's yacht. They're managed differently. And he was saying that Porsche because it has seventeen percent margins doesn't really have taught managing breathing down their neck about how to get things done. And he was basically saying if you are a different brand, and you want to have that same kind of freedom prophets will set you free. And so he said Yvette maxed fry which is really similar to our by MAC fry which was in blazoned at the Auschwitz concentration camps. So VW has unfortunate links with the Third Reich because we know is it possible that the head of a company that was founded at the behest of Adolf Hitler and relied on concentration camp labor during its early days could be unaware of the offense his remarks might have caused. I do think it's possible. The question is whether that. That means anything maybe that falls towards negligence or being Bolivia's. But you know, you're supposed to be super aware of these comments and of the history. And actually he's made a point of saying that he's aware of the history he visited outfits last year, he visited yet but shown in Jerusalem last year who was actually one of his first access CEO. So he is conscious of this. And this is just a major blunder. But I have spoken people who are in the room and more than half of them have told me they didn't make the connection either in part because what he was saying was really such a sort of benign comment that, you know, prophets will sort of help you. Nobody was thinking in terms of historical connections to folks against darkest days. Then again, a hassle going to people who say as soon as he said, I recognize the historical blunder, and it's worth knowing that Mr. de said the comments to an even five times, according to some people. So I think he was rather oblivious to it. I don't think he was putting on it. But it's hard to say, and I get inside his mind. So how did misdeeds explain it? Itself. Mr. has a pretty active linked in page where he puts up sell fees with join Adela from Microsoft, and that sort of thing that's actually working chose to write his apology. He basically said I apologize unreservedly Inouye was I trying to make this connection, and it's worth knowing that that came immediately. There was no hesitation on his part or anything and welcomed by multiple parties. And what's been the reaction of shareholders and investors? So when we talk about investors with Volkswagen it's worth knowing we're almost exclusively talking about minority shareholders because three groups hold ninety percent of the shares of the ten percent that's held by you know, you and I'm on pop investors institutions I've spoken to several who were outraged and defended and some of them as we've written in the have called for him to go. They think that this represents a really big misjudgment and calls into question some of his other decision making. But he's also made a lot of enemies within Volkswagen by trying to lift margin by. By going after the cost structure wanting to lay people off wanting to shift Volkswagen into a new direction focused on electric occasion, which will reduce the workforce over the next ten years. And I think there's a lot of people who weren't necessarily offended by the statement. But they see this as an opportunity to either hurt dece or to get rid of him because they're already against him when did Mr. deeds joined VW, and how'd you think his performance is rated currently by shareholders? He was a BMW board member for a while he joined Volkswagen in July two thousand fifteen now that just three months before the diesel scandal was exposed it's pretty unfortunate timing because it's not late enough to be fully cleaned from the diesel scandal. So he's actually been under investigation since two thousand sixteen by German prosecutors because there's a big big shareholder case that still hasn't gone to court or just in the early stages of going to court now where shareholders are seeking damages of nine billion euros because they believe. Board told them too late about the diesel scandal. They needed to be informed earlier. So DC's was the head of the VW brand not the head of the W group at the time. But he's implicated in that ended remains to be seen whether that be troublesome for him later on. He was only promoted to the Volkswagen group kief executive eleven months ago. So do you think he'll survive this latest scandal and give them the company's ownership structures? You explain it who would have the power to remove him basically to forces that could have the power. So one is the portion peac family that owns fifty three percent of the entire company so far from awful sources, I know that they still back him entirely, and he has such a big job to do right now. They've been very pleased with him. I would be pretty surprised that they turned on him over this comment. The other however is a little more contentious so Volkswagen supervisory board who really has all the power has twenty seats. Ten of them Gherman law, go to the labor union and then two of them come from lower south. Axes state where they have their headquarters. So that gives a majority right twelve out of twenty two basically the workers because Lower Saxony size of the workers because of the way politics works. So if they really turn against him than that's how you could see Mr. being ousted. So finally, Patrick VW has a history of unforced errors, and given this latest blundered, you think Mr. DC's really the man to turn around Volkswagen's fortunes. I can tell this blunder. It would be a really simple answer. And you would say yes shareholders have generally been big cheerleaders of Mr. dece in large part because he's known to be a very tough negotiator with the unions. He wants to cut costs here there and everywhere and Volkswagen under his leadership is making a full throttle turn towards electrification on a level that you're just not seeing with the groups that rival them in terms of car sold. So that would be renault-nissan Toyota General Motors, so electric vacation really is the future of automotive. Volkswagen has. Lake over everyone else. Nobody else is really willing to take that sort of risk. But the other question, of course, is corporate governance and cultural reform, and with this kind of comment, I suppose that gets put into question, but there are a lot of people who think that this whole episode was sort of silly. It was obviously an unfortunate error, and it doesn't have wider implications to really depends where you fall into that question. And I think one interesting parallel is that when the Volkswagen scandal was exposed Martin vinter corn the CEO step down within a week and the head of Porsche. But he has Mueller took over within a few months. He went to the Detroit auto show and was asked about this scandal by NPR, and he said, very clearly we didn't lie, and I would think that was actually a bigger gaffe than actually what just said because it was just months after the diesel scandal. It was a really sensitive time. And it was already clear at that point that Volkswagen had engaged in a cover up for a year after more than ten years of cheating. So to say. We didn't lie was just such a big thing. So I do think dis has a strong credibility with investors. Even with this gaffe, and in general, he does have the credibility to take this company in new direction. He's really got the portion peac families on board. And you know, they're often seen as the problem for Volkswagen being to your credit ads not looking after shareholders. So so long as these surprise next week. I think he'll be there for quite a bit more time at least a year or

"Well, if if that's the case will you have more Democrats coming out saying, okay and more liberal media saying you need to get to the table, you need to work a deal at least ask for something. Quits sitting on your hands. Because I think the president if he makes the effort between now and the first the next payday. If he makes that effort consistently. And and gives more as giving more and more than at some point. She's going to have to show up. She's going to have to show up to the table. Well, that's why I wondered why the narrative changed so quickly because over the last couple of days, what was coming out of the White House's will hold it, an alternative place, another place another place another place another place. You heard the possibility of could it be held in in in the Senate chambers. We heard down by the border, but the White House kept going in that they kept the narrative going the president said when he was when he was having a round table yesterday. Which by the way was soon as I saw that I said good, except it should have been prime time because I pay attention to the news. And didn't know you were having a immigration roundtable today. And so it does no good. If the America if if isn't splashed across in prime time, so the American public can see it, right? Which is something we said he should have been doing two years ago. But still I was glad to see that it was that it was going on. But he was being asked questions and he went about Nancy's response. And and he said, well, you know, there's always always we'll talk about later, but we'll. See whether we can, you know, do it in an alternate place. So they were still talking about it. And all of a sudden, they're him. And I wake up I wake up, you know, to get ready to show and boom. The complete narrative has changed. Sorry. We're not gonna do it. So what why did they make that decision? Why did they go from an alternative site to? Nope. Not gonna happen. What happened in those few hours? What is their plan? I tend to think that they have some type of plan. They just didn't do it. Well, no because we believe that it should be done in the house chambers because of the tradition would look at it always hasn't been done in the house chamber. It's been it's been, you know, they extend the invitation, but many presidents have written it. It is a tradition that we expect I believe in our lifetime. But it hasn't always been done. That hasn't always been done that way. So why did he do it? Look, it's unprecedented. That she did it do they believe that they can win points alone. And and just focused and say, look, it's Nancy that stopped this from from happening or do they want to use a combination of being able to blame her for doing something that is just reprehensible and being able to? Portray it that way. And then at the same time also have something else on the back burner. We wanna make her look bad there. And we want to make her look bad they're here. And does that mean that they have decided that that offer you know, that thing that axios was written wrote about yesterday morning? The by the time they got to the end of the day. They said that's where we have to go. We have to show the public that. She is the one that is stopping any movement that she won't let the state of the union go on and she will not negotiate, and we are offering them things, and we will continue to offer them things that they would have absolutely signed onto at any other time that the Democrats have been in power in the exchange of blows. What is the negative politically? Well, it's unprecedented for Nancy Pelosi to make this move. But if you go back and said, well, we're going to do it. Anyway, then the story becomes that. Not the unprecedented move. So that negative on her basically is wash. So then you look at okay what's the positive for the president right now. Only offered something to the extent that the editorial board at the Washington Post decided to go that route think about that. That's that's a big deal in that. There are at least saying Nancy. Why don't you at least ask for something? Why why don't you try and get something done out of this? You you claim you're trying to do something for people. You could help all of these Dacca recipients. And you're saying, no, you know, what's interesting is that, you know, Skoda's on the DACA case on Tuesday. You know, there is not going to be really any change in that in the courts right now. So that's a that's a that's something that I think has to play into this. So after the Tuesday Scottish thing on DACA. You look at it. You say, okay. Wait a minute. Is it better to get up there next Tuesday night and offer something and then they they give you nothing. Or is it better to keep reaching out making a little bit? You're making the effort if you think about who is trying to convince his base. I tend to believe a number of his base if he ends up they end up offering, and and and the Democrats get permanent legal residents for data Scipion only attend to base. I tend to believe that his base is still going to show up for him in two thousand twenty you may have some that won't. But by and large they will. And where do you make gains? You make gains with the people the Democrats like the ones we've heard from. And they're the ones that look at this and go, wait a minute. He's the one trying to do something positive. He's the one he's the one reaching out even the editorial board of the Washington Post acknowledging look you've got you've got something. You've got an opportunity Nancy go ask for something. So he's the one that keeps the door open. He's the one willing to reach across the aisles. He's the one looking to make a deal, and she is silent and rescinding an offer in an unprecedented fashion. So what's the timeline? The timeline has to be that. I mean here we are two Thursday. So you want this full weekend Sunday morning news shows. Yeah. So if something is going to happen. And that's why I tend to believe it is. And and you and I've talked about where the president might be going the they actually has a story yesterday morning said almost exactly what we have said that Kushner's looking at exactly what we said, you take the next step you go beyond just letting them extend how long the DACA recipients can stay to a not citizenship. We had somebody called citizens. Should we said? No, no, no. Because I goes too, far you you do it incrementally. So the next thing would be on campus. Green cards the or say a path degreen cards. We don't get the green card immediately. But the fact is whatever that path would. But that's how they're saying. It is a path to a green card, and then you hit that today. You hit it you hit it Friday big time. You're all you send your people to everywhere saying we're offering because look you go on MSNBC. You can set you can send your Representative MSNBC. We're offering something the Democrats have cried for and you know, as well as I do. And there isn't there isn't anybody in the media can say that the Democrats haven't been for border fencing that they haven't been for barriers. You can't say that. It'd be intellectually honest, you go out you promote the daylights out of it. And then you're also on all the Sunday morning news shows, you you are the new story today. Friday, when you send everybody out with everybody's analyzing it then Saturday, then right back in the Sunday morning news shows where you're back on it again. And you see where it takes you for the beginning of next week while because you can even have some of the Republicans who have not completely been in lockstep with the president even Lindsey Graham at times, you know, on on a number of things Syria, or whatever it might be those individuals going out think about that those individuals going outgoing look the Democrats get a couple of wins here. They're not getting a two thousand mile wall. They're not getting the he's not or he's not getting it. He's not getting twenty five billion. He's getting five point seven. These getting is an and as you mentioned and Democrats in the past recent years has supported barriers the the the imagery of the president is that the president is unreasonable and harsh that is what the Democrats have attempted to portray him as as his image over and over and over and over and over again Aventura, as we have said, the reason that we said, the president should have been promoting this from the very beginning with town hall meetings and the DA out there talking about the drugs crossing the border and doing town hall meetings on border cities and bringing everybody who's involved in the federal government on it is because what you want to do nothing. You're proposing is extreme everything is normal in the mainstream of what the American public wants. That's how you promote it. That's what you have to do. I don't know. Again. I've always said, I don't know if he has enough to to to do it. I'm extremely impressed. What has happened over the last week, politically, you know, what? He is done. And how consistent he has been since he was ready to capitulate completely right before Christmas and give the Democrats everything and get absolutely nothing in return until the conservative media. Got the pro wall conservative media got on his case. And and advise, you know, and and I think warned him we represent a huge base of people that will be awfully ticked off. If you get there because nobody bought the fact that he could have gotten the money elsewhere and could have accomplished it alone. Right. Nobody in the conservative media did. That's why that's why there was that pushback. And that's why even the national -mergency thing wasn't really a great, Sal. And now, you don't hear it at all. I mean, there's been no talk for about calling a national emergency that seems to have disappeared completely off the narrative. So where do you go? There's only one place to go. And what you do is as long as you possibly can last this out. You portray yourself as the reasonable one and Nancy is the radical. Yup. Nancy is. The one eight six six ninety redeye. Open.
