President Donald J. Trump Returns to America First!
"And I served with great pleasure, the man who is now on the line, the 45th president of the United States and God willing, the 47th president Trump, welcome to America first. And you did a great job. I have to say that. You did a great job at everybody respected you. And you were a strong voice. So that's why I do your show. Well, thank you kindly, and we're going to keep you on through the breaks. We're going to blast through the Blake skies. Don't go anywhere the president will be with us for the rest of the show. President, let's start with I really don't know how to react. You know I'm with newsmax now. I used to be with Fox. I had great respect for the Fox business hosts like varney. But I don't understand this interview he did with you recently where he said most of your supporters want to forget 2020 they want to move on. Well, president Trump, I was there. I watched you in the front row at Mar-a-Lago. I don't know how you did it. You sat there for 90 minutes for the premiere of the national Seuss's 2000 mules. You saw the evidence, sir, of an election stolen from you and 74 million voters at least. There is no way we can go forward unless we fix the problems of 2016. Do you agree? Well, first of all, let me just say about sir, I really like Stewart a lot. I was a little surprised because I really believe that if I said G under the circumstances because we've seen such corruption. I mean, the 2000 meals is incredible, but that's just one form of many. Now that's definitive and determinative because there's so many more votes than you need to win. But there are many other things they did also. It was a very corrupt election. I think that if I said that gee whiz, this was corrupt and all that. But we have to go for it. I think our base would be very upset about it if you want to know the truth. They would be very upset. And I don't think that people Stewart would be one of them. And Stuart's very good. But I don't think people realize that I could say other ones that we like Friends of ours. I don't think anyone knows how powerful this is.
Joe Scarborough: Pennsylvania Republicans Want Results to Be Delayed
"Joe Scarborough had a conspiracy theory today and I'm not going to play it It's just so stupid even for him He says the Republicans in Pennsylvania the legislature specifically once these election results delayed Unlike in Florida in some of the other states so when they lose they could complain at its fixed As their winning early on Now the problem with Joe Scarborough is not only does he have a low IQ He doesn't know how to read he doesn't know how to research from his bungalow in Jupiter Florida with the misses The formerly meek brzezinski Now make a blazing ski Scarborough Chip off the old block there It was the Democrat governor and the Democrat rogue Supreme Court that changed the election laws of Pennsylvania In Pennsylvania as I said yesterday I grew up where I used to work the precincts we would know the results of the elections by the end of the evening Typically by ten or 11 at night We would know The changes came with the Democrat party in violation of the federal constitution Article two which we've talked about at length and the refusal of the Supreme Court at least four justices to take up the case We have now voter harvesting and Pennsylvania but it was never approved Were you have no signature verification that was never proved Were they expanded absentee ballots That was never proved

"ski " Discussed on The Ski Podcast
"On the site, their slopes and ski down 8 o'clock in the evening in the moonlight, I think it's a wonderful thing to do. Whether it's allowed, I think it'll be allowed, I think it will be slightly restricted. Yeah, I mean talking about the owners of apres ski bars, a mutual friend of ours, Andre Russell, who owns their bar Kiba in town to play self had many great evenings. I noticed I don't often go on to Facebook, but he had a post on Facebook a little while ago, which was really a kind of lament to the end of season worker life. And I think there have been a lot of challenges in relation to Brexit and recruitment. I wondered what your insight would be on that? Yeah, it's a minefield, really. I'm not sure the podcast long enough to have all my company to lose. No, the obvious fallout of Brexit is quite quite bad in terms of UK citizens being able to work in Europe. There's been a few things I think in the press that there's the option to be able to do it in France, but that's still a very long winded and quite expensive way with no certainty or guarantee at the end of it. I've actually getting these work permits. We've got the same situation in Austria where they're only issue issuing a certain number of permits for seasonal workers and UK now falls under the third national third nation country or whatever they call it that not part of the EU. So not entitled to come and work there, which obviously takes away tons of jobs. We employ about 40 to 50 people in the Alps each winter. And this year, we're only looking for people with EU passports because it's just such a long, complicated, quite expensive process to go just to get a work permit. And then to be told that they're only going to give work permits probably to qualified qualified applicants so like the chefs, for example, that have an actual qualification for your sort of Shelley host, which is obviously a really important job. That we employ for. They don't class it as a recognized qualification in a job. So they're probably only going to be giving out permits for chefs, maybe maybe managers, maybe people with a particular skill set. But otherwise it's going to be quite tricky. And obviously more expensive for UK based operators to go about it. It almost sounds like the travel situation. Every country seems to have their own rules in place. There's no consistency across all of Europe, which makes it difficult for a company like yours in a gloomy drive away or employing people in France and in austere as well. So a lot of challenges are overall. Well, you know, I hope that with as with the travel within COVID, which has become simpler, maybe we find that as time passes being a third world country in the eyes of a year or third category country in terms of the EU, it will become easier to employ people. Hopefully, Andy you'll come back and give us some snow reports during the season and that data somehow things are going. Love too. Yep. Excellent. Okay, I'm just going to move on now. Regular listeners are recall I hosted a forum at the recent ski launch event for the industry last month. And one of our sessions had a focus on the Olympics. At Graham bell and Emily sarsfield with me, both of whom have been guests on the podcast before. Now the sound quality isn't so good on this, but I think it's still worth listening to. So.

"A lateral flow test on day two of their arrival as opposed to the most costly PCR tests. So that's really good news. We're still awaiting to hear when that's going to happen and whether that's going to happen in time for half term. Meanwhile, on vaccinated travelers must take a COVID test before boarding a flight, take a PCR test within 48 hours of arriving back into the UK and another test on day 8, but we're hoping that's going to be the scraps. And in fact, think I've read somewhere that there's suggesting that all tests on return for fully vaccinated travelers might be dropped by January. But those other tests for non vaccinated people will still apply. And I think just to clarify, if you've got children traveling with fully vaccinated parents, then they would not have to take tests pre return test as well. That's right, yeah. Would they have to quarantine as well? There was a bit of misunderstanding in the press about quarantine and what was happening, but no children will not have to quarantine upon return if they're unvaccinated. Yeah. So, you know, that definitely looks good for family ski holidays and for skiing holidays. For people who are vaccinated. And I think we've got the U.S. back on the cards as well. I'm not a 100% sure whether that's all been clarified yet whether you can travel down to the states. Is that right? Well, that's interesting, yeah, because, you know, a few years ago, we heard that the U.S. will reopen in November to air travelers from 33 countries, including China India and Brazil, most of Europe, who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. But they hadn't given an exact date. And this week, the telegraph reported that the slated November date for the reopening to British and European travelers was plunged into uncertainty. Amid reports that discussions to end the travel ban had hit complications. So we're yet to hear what's happening over there..

So as you mentioned lasser it has been married. Nice has been good season for locals as she sued himself this season for everyone. Then we are hoping to have to respect especially to preach. I spoke t. James gambro again. Regular listeners will remember. I spoke to him in great depth in episode seventy five. He's in new general manager of the ski club of great britain with the million dollar question. I mean i certainly would say. And i feel more positive now than not have any previous time including this time last year i think positively rbis probably one of the more negative voices. I think we've had. We've had a year to understand what to do the resorts of how year to figure out how to make that work to me. Short of a vaccine resistant variant coming out of the which absolutely could still happen. I'm it feels like the momentum is with and this season. I'm going to say i think overall betting man i'd say this will happen. Excellent interns numbers will be reporting a good bookings in advance ready if ski cup. Fresh tracks program we. We were sixty percent head of our oldest target and we are. We are running ahead of target at the moment. We reduced the program compared to pre co-bidders sort of ease back in..

"Achieve through the products And at the time we actually started looking back at a ski remake made throughout which is a first was one hundred twenty two underfoot and he loved the shape But we wanted to find ways to make it lighter so he started looking into alternative cools and we used a recycled pt. Cool for wall which unfortunately didn't wasn't great warranty wise and then we swapped over to this mix of bamboo and flex I won't get technical Nazari bamboo bolsa but actually both are is technically a hardwood so it's very strong but very light And we we kind of looked on these together. An and candy gets really heavily involved in every single aspect of the products that he works on. It wasn't just his his. You probably model for this year just on your name across the border. Here we go. Well this is the third round of revisions. Would you on this product. And i like that little red lion bear. We need to change that and everything that respects you know i can see how that could be challenging but on the other hand you want someone who really cares about ereck creating in what you're doing that. I h athlete. That we've worked with guys like salmon into matt and alex whole Always guys have different requirements of what they like some really good at putting that into woods and working with someone like an engineer other like it just feels wrong and i have no idea why. And that's frustrating like that but it's fine it's just people and i've always liked people aren't just listener. If you're if you're not sure who conde directs as just google one of these days on ye cheap and You see some just incredible footage on there. I wonder when you look at that. And you see you see 'em skiing down slips that at grass or rocks or brick or whatever you think. Oh my god. What's he doing to my skis in twenty story that he so he was doing one of those days and you just traveling around..

"You could you could afford but it was the one that you could just do everything on all the time it was the one ski needed was it was. It was back when we were all sleeping on. People's floors have been kind of living. Yeah we talk about what people might describe as an old mountain ski that type of. Yeah now it'd be an all mountain ski and it. Was you know fat skiing early. Sept- pistol days. What else is around. Talk one ten one twenty. And when when i kind of started playing we reverse cam and rocker. That was when everything really started to make sense. Because i was pretty much the only brand really that light stiff skis. He i liked. I had a lot of friends early on were identities in canada early on in my life so i i had a lot of friends in north america as well and canadians. Just love. straight ski. So let's case brought out early on with stiff and straight and when you've got reverse cambe for example reverse gamba is basically the shape of soft skied. Deforms too so it will flight. So if you press a scheme with reverse camber you don't actually need to flex any further the any reason you want to flex any further is to make it a little bit forgiving. So it's not kicking the back and we'll talk paps Now to visualize what you talking now. In fact shimmer kind of in the lead of innovation through all of that time with the different elements bringing whether it's a the width of the ska- or the rockers or reverse camera cetera. I mean you mentioned the sense. Seth stole there seemed. Remember about those skis with hand great graphics and as a key paul of all of your range as now you know you or design a how did he go about actually deciding which which graphics to put on this case because that must have been a massive physician. It was quite easy. Actually because decision. I want to do this. I'm doing this. I didn't have you know. Massive sales teams report to didn't have a marketing team. Here everyone to kinda give feedback on everything and by the time it happened over. of doesn't seven thousand eight. We started getting sales guys on board And it started growing ganley and at that point a run kind of has input and at that point you kind of you have to fight for the design you do and where. They came from early on early on. I mean i was growing up in melbourne. Say there's a lot of street art london at a time. There was a lot of street out as well. And i used to just to go on travels and go on trips and just inspired by what was happening around me and at the time to let the early thousands. They wasn't any skis interesting graphics. On apart from jamie strachan doing stuff vocal so Early explosives are with the wizards on. I'm all that stuff. He did some amazing art and again he was part of that. Uk scene at the time of people to be pushing industry. Yeah jamie strategy. Mentioned him in a downstairs in downstairs lou here. I've got a couple of pieces from the The sham gem from back in the day that was hey stuff. I think wasn't it and it really stands out brilliant stuff. Yeah he did amazing work and there was a few other brands going to go down as well. Rosie had a whole series of obstacles fantastic. And i think when you're when you're starting a business it's easy to see everyone out there as competitors because you really fighting for like i needed re-sale god i need to build this business kind of thing but my viewpoint was very different. Like pete who studied amphetamine we did a whole heap of stuff together..

"Met him really early on and he was a product designer and a product manager burden for many years and he just kind of opened up everything and tool to process we went and visited the factories together and actually used a factory that he ran for euro two and he took me through that process and we spend a little time to side cuts and flexes and shape and things like that. Where was the factory that he introduced you to e- i a mate so we the the i g it was in a little place south of evian which is the same factory that started movements case in that first year was kind of a bit of a learning experience. And then i'm at pay off to that. And we moved to a factory in austria which i cannot remember the name anymore who say long ago. Now we have we did. We did kind of tease there. And then we attended igbo the first time and literally pete dropped off the backdrop of the case out For the first year and it was purchased by real excited. He above the way. The factory can't make the skis anymore. Because we were too small. I have got a great this process of just a search full for factories. That could help us out skis on the most complicated products in the world but to get them in low volumes And low warranty rights. Are you to create a product which is a low volume but consistently well is difficult. I'm sure is because the costs must be so much high. If you doing lallera is relatively yet and we had no idea so the first couple of years we're paying twice as much as what we should have been paying but we had not Literally was learning as i went. You know and i was lucky that my product design background meant that i could understand a lot of the processes i could go through. Designed everything from the shapes. The flexes The cool profiles and the graphics..

What would you ran natives. up in putney richmond. Yeah it was in putney and did i. We women's viking for a long time and you're i seem to ricco the you design the first ever. Native said cody k. Gracia for us. I did i did and i. I was thinking about when when you contacted me because i feel like those kind of the early two thousands was just such a fantastic time for british gain little and everything else and i being straight and originally i just come to europe. I just come to london. Donna seasoning dissolve and wanting liz ach and then Come to came to london. Met you through steph. Who was working for you and it just seemed like everything was going on in london. The the dry slopes sane the warren in his cool says Just everything seemed to kind of focus around natives at that time because you guys like the center all well. i mean. that's very kind of you to say so. I mean it was a very dynamic in a very exciting time. Just and in fact i ain't feed pat sharp pose a little while ago. We were talking about. You know that really exciting time when british free skiing or a a free riding is really starting develop a you mentioned warren as well and yet you know we just such an exciting time and it's interesting to see how it said how it's developed and really faction skis kind of road with that. I'd say to a certain degree yet. A lot of it came out of it. Because i had so many friends in the english would stay Snow sports scene and one of them. In particular geico phil martin who is english but now living in the states Entirely think he the first person. When i found this little factory in just south of evian who wanted to make skis and my background was in product design product design degree before i moved into graphics And i contacted phil and phil when officers really cool. Email all my friends and literally within a couple of weeks. I had fifty people go. Yeah all have a pair of those and it was all three film study so interesting because is show you knife. Illinois used to it together and begins to regularly a seem that we were brothers because we both maybe yeah this martin and we working at four natives together but i didn't realize i knew he had connections. I didn't realize he was quite like that. So what year was that. You actually started faction itself. So we'd been. I've been living out in lazar unit. The republican vondry as a as they like to cool out there which was which was lovely such a cool little resort and i think that was kind of two thousand and two thousand and one thousand two hour meeting a little guys like jim edlington. Goatee.

"No having been able to go out there and advance. Yeah i mean huge in downhill skiing. We're doing a gravity based fought so our equipment is just as important. Sometimes it's our i was. I was skill base so having the rice walked the right what preparations on your skis is so important and not going and feeling those conditions beforehand. It'd be really difficult for the the the technicians who prepare escape but also as a mental ability to not seeing the course in ski cross for instance all our courses are the very different and they might be more suited. The might be need to be more of a glider or someone who can cook with big jumps and stuff like that normally. We always on an olympics. Get testament where we get to kind help. Go and have a look. Look at the exact. Like for like coffee will be that general kind of build. So we'll get to see the obstacle course per se Pry a year before. So you kind of them start to build and then some preparations start to kind of. We'll build these kind of elements kind of what we saw in the in europe and practice them now this is a good thing for the brits because back in two thousand eighteen we didn't there was a big star feet jet in pm chan which no one had ever seen before it was a drug start. We opener for and it was really quite vertical. So very very technical. Now this waste the austrians all these big european teams were able to go and build the like for like on their own snow now. We didn't have access to that so always a little bit kind of behind. I managed to kind of make friends a few people and jump in every now and then on a couple of them but this probably in a way helps us out. We're all in the same starting line when you go that but yeah no. It's really difficult but the good thing is maybe puts everyone in the same boat. I remember the The wutang ride star. The course impeding. Chang of zap see massive. Wasn't it was always like going up. Hills the off week before yeah race. Right you're jumping from kind of the height of a double story building. Free falling down to level one then after ride the back of that then go up the oversight of a two story building to get over the way hit. That's kind of landing point and get the momentum like swing to kind of get open over was kind of quite crucial. John's madonna skate question. Then you've got shaping competing this winter unite. The they've been colored pro protocols in place for all of your races has affected things much as it made it more difficult. Put extra pressure on utha competing. Not really nice quite organized we had. We had two test of course before leaving when we arrived at. We only lost two like haitians ju to change in arrangements. We've covet but one was replaced so in the end it was just one one event. We lost We actually had just as many days knee just as many days racing because that adds extra days in the same by croatian. What's okay so apart from the fact that you had to be tested be now they they More regularly it wasn't a particular obstacle in terms of your competition in terms of how you competition is concerned not neither competition was was just as normal except a mollusc until the very last minute and then you finish and pop from that. Yeah well we see that in the summer olympics as well and in the summer olympics in New sports such as surfing skateboarding. Have you guys been watching. The skateboarding saw some of that brilliant. It's unreal and said good that job commentating on as well Alien tim would. Isn't it doing law so he was doing the climbing as well. Yeah the he's getting. some good. Were thinking about the winter olympics. I read that ski. Mountaineering is going to be included in the winter olympics. And would you guys. What shot ski mountaineering. I think it'd be quite exciting. I mean those guys very popular in cautioned essentially ruining the piste. But ruining the me. I'm more of like short sharp athlete. So i like it to be fast. So long baronets shocking. Half say can you talk about kush valley during the winter. They have a ski touring racist standing lepre and goes up to eighteen fifty. And i've done that several times now. I'm a bit more experience at ski touring now than i was. But oh my god. I could not believe how far some people always such an amateur attorney. Just trying to get my skis on this. And that and is he site at practically running out the piece. What about you. I bet you dear. A of ski touring orchestra. Crossover with with what you do just now would be Interested in watching it taking part and welching yes Emily taking not really a lot to go. Mime pace with that and enjoy the day off activity. I don't bay. He mountaineering ski. Touring become more and more popular ski. Mountaineering is kind of race element of it. Probably the most famous pure ski mountaineering rights. a cut-rate iglesia a longtime ago in the podcast. I speak to. You mentioned that have to ask you about that. I mean a thinking about comparison with a more normal season. I did you get any revenues in. It's you're able to in any realistic way. I think at times it was even a domestic market. But other times not here. We g opened an effective december on on man-made so for For sledging and and we had enough snow that we made and then just between christmas new year we opened for skiers and slide us.
