"Dumb question yeah and this and this is even after he's gone on on an excellent look on abilities I'm not gonna Bailey's Democrat governors out of making messes of their states like Illinois I mean for crying out loud with with talked about that one of the other questions it's been coming up quite frequently is now that the gag order has been lifted off of Roger stone who is I think come on the show off and on for I don't know how many years now I first met him back in Quincy Illinois Illinois here we go back to Illinois against us which she doesn't mind to that twenty ten something like that and obviously we talked about the ridiculous Victorian freak show that we could call the trial and the the way that that was handled and how they sent an entire swat team and also see an end because that's you know typical whenever law enforcement response I guess I had to go and March this dangerous predator out of his house sends this was all that Bob Muller persecution well the gag orders were lifted and Roger stone joins us via telephone now Roger long time no speak good to talk with you I hope you're doing well how are things it's really great to be back with you and to have my constitutionally guaranteed chorus back against no I deliver two years two years of really sixty months to be exact the Sheik news media CNN MSNBC The New York Times The Washington Post you know the crowd senior reporting Roger stone will be charged with treason but I just don't be charged with espionage are you still will be charged with being a link between the Russian intelligence and the trump campaign Roger stone will be charged with money laundering millions of dollars of Russian money up with a trumpet none of those things were true they were all reported none of those things were true and at the end of the day twenty nine heavily armed swat team clad FBI agents charged to my house at six o'clock in the morning arriving seventeen armored vehicles with a government helicopter overhead to government and CBS units on the canal behind my house a K. nine unit I guess in case I tried to sway battering ram to break in the front door of my house arrest me for a white collar nonviolent crime where I had no previous criminal record don't own a firearm doctors I don't support the second amendment but the most temperature that won't disappoint me about you the most we got a I've done well Roger I don't know grandchildren grandchildren in the house a fight I lost with my wife so and and I didn't have a valid passport so the government knew I wasn't a flight risk which is how which is how they justify this one point one million dollar arrest after the taxpayers pay and of course totally coincidentally CNN arrived exactly eleven minutes before the FBI to set up a camera twenty five feet from my front door where they could sell the whole thing even though the street a dead end street had been sealed off and no other media was allowed in how coincidental that is so coincidental yes side because that's just I'm sure that they just happen to be in the area and slipped in and there was nobody tipping anybody offer organizing anything and I have to say this is what always and I want to talk with the crazy juror as well coming up but what really got me with this whole thing is they kept saying all well you know two of the charges well I wanna convictions and obstructing a congressional investigation I it it but to to to for the sake of this play devil's advocate for a moment even F. even S. obstruction of a congressional investigation that presupposes that said investigation was a legitimate investigation and wasn't predicated upon an abuse of FISA law and wasn't predicated upon wireless surveillance or or or or or at that phone tapping surveillance every now we know the full story it was an illegitimate there was an investigation because it was an investigation they would have followed the protocol as legally prescribed that there was a witch hunt so you did not you were not complicit in a witch hunt that's how it's what gets me is how in the world you can be found unlawful behavior because you did engage in unlawful action already well not only that but most people don't even know what it was I was convicted up so try to understand this I was convicted of lying to the congressional committee about the trump campaign's interest in the woods you weeks disclosures even though candidate trump had mentioned his interest a hundred and forty two times in September and October still there was no underlying crime to lie about I do not and I was very forthright about that as far as witness tampering the so called witness that I that I threaten checkbook on the stand in a letter to the judge that he never felt threatened but that was just the nature of our relationship we we talk harshly to each other but that's he Andrew Weissmann who wrote my indictment there's a real criminal he checked that one on to try to make it sound more nefarious I I have death threats from from the so called witness it was banter but they turned it into something else well I was targeted for one reason they put intense pressure on me they offered me a deal on July twenty four twenty nineteen that they would argue for no prison time if I would simply testify against Donald Trump regarding thirty six telephone conversations we had in twenty sixteen all of which were longer than thirty minutes and if I would just confess and come clean and admit that that had been about coordinating with the Russians they would go easy on me and I said no that is the real reason I was prosecuted the judge when she sentenced me said you'll be found guilty of covering up for Donald Trump no the exact opposite is true I was found guilty because I refused to bear false witness against Donald Trump exactly you are so used to engage in an illegitimate and illegal action thus they said that if the laws reverse we live in an upside down world I guess this is the this is the new normal right now that's what concerns me because all of the individuals and I've made this point previously at many times on the show for even people on the left that always is scream about the injustice of the justice system if they were consistent on this than this story would have struck a chord but it just goes to show that I think that justice is situational for people based upon their political agenda this juror that comes I just boggles my mind this individual this particular juror that's been in the headlines was so unbelievably vocally outspoken partisan and hated the administration hated the president hated anybody that was associated with them I'm I'm actually shocked that that individual actually made it up to be a teacher here I think is a poor people understand to make a heart that's her name she outed herself on CNN so I have not violated the court's she'll buy tell you her name she identified herself attacked me by name on the day was arrested and subsequently ended tak Donald Trump on her Facebook account throughout twenty nineteen and then she would take the Facebook posts and put them up on Twitter but they were on private settings at the time of my trials so the argument stone's lawyer should have known there was no way for us to know right we looked at all we looked at all of the jurors our social media for prejudicial comments also to recognize the judge Jackson ruled that if one was a partisan Democrat and one was inside trump or appointed the administration that would not disqualify you from being a juror in this case and that is evidently law I find that odd but my jury had no Republicans no military veterans no NRA members no well union members nobody would lessen the college education it was not it was not a diverse jury to say the least eight it is the the very clear bias edit after the trial to make a heart the four woman closed her Facebook account and open a new one so the Facebook account she had since two thousand eight which had been a private setting during the time of my trial she closed down and opened a new one and when asked in a hearing why she did that she said she just wanted to take a break why would you just suspend your account for a while right why why close it and open an entire new one when asked about specific posts she said she couldn't remember what they were about but she did call the president a Klansman he did say he was the Klan president and that anyone who supports him it is a racist would that not include me I think it worked I'm not racist but I am a transport so but legal authorities as diverse as judge in Apollo tonneau Alan Dershowitz even even the the professor from Yale who whose name escapes me at this moment have all said that the U. S. Supreme Court says that any defendant is entitled to it to a impartial and indifferent Jerry this woman was not indifferent either as she was not impartial she was not a different Emmeline professor Jonathan Turley of Yale who is not a conservative not a trump supporter says that I did it the judge's decision I think it's just wrongly decided all right a new trial correct so is certainly strong grounds for appeal if I end up having to go that route I think I would win on appeal but also recognizes the gag order itself the judge's argument was Roger stone social media postings and his comments in the media could taint the jury what about the coverage of the Washington post the dominant newspaper where I was being tried and the daily attacks on me by CNN and MSNBC do you think they cater to the jury yeah now that this me this reminds me of the jondo persecutions in Wisconsin with the Scott Walker situation and they put a gag order on all these individuals that were helping Scott Walker during the recall and just tarred and feathered them in the press so much false maliciousness and date and finally the Supreme Court states report how to get involved let let me ask you this this is because I and a lot of other people do this to me I find frankly I it it's a little frightening to realize that it doesn't matter if they could do this to someone like you if they can if they can bend of the law suspend the law so as to engage in persecution of somebody like the president who's to say that it you know this is going to be done against just a regular average everyday person who is not politically involved has no political associations are connections I think people's faith in the system I know mine's entirely gone but I think a lot of people I don't know if it if they're ever going to recover that what how do you give me your thoughts on that because that to me is the real big threat that's been uncovered by all of this should be I think the real issue is two tiered justice James clapper lied to Congress about whether or not we had a metadata program tracking American citizens that is a consequential line call me a McCabe lied call me life Hillary light stroke light page slide Mahler himself in his testimony three examples of what just out outright lies none of them are being prosecuted only was referred to the just apartment twice for prostitution he's not prosecuted the house.

"The root of Jerry's come thank you so much for joining us here on car pro USA don't really give you straight talking on stage about everything automotive mondo cars not everything's going on out in the world because if you're thinking about buying a car anytime this year I got to tell you the incentives changes that happened this week were as drastic as I've ever seen and it would it it got somewhat reminiscent after nine eleven what was going on at that time with the auto industry I was still in the car business I have a huge dealership in Dallas and nine eleven happened and we went two weeks and virtually didn't sell anything and you know when your car dealer that that overhead rolls on you know and I didn't wanna I wanna lay anybody off or anything like that you were just gonna ride it out in some of your mother's came with zero percent for sixty months for the first time ever across the board every car on the lot was zero percent for sixty months and boy I gotta tell you people came out of the woodwork we went from two weeks of Danville just six weeks of the busiest time I can ever remember ever including up to and after today show we saw zero percent for eighty four pop up this week never thought I'd see that I'm not a long term finance guy I'd typically don't like it but I guess say at zero percent that's one of the things where you want to put as little money down as you can and you want to finance it as long as you can if I were doing zero Frey for deal because the payments are so low I would send an extra money with every time I try to shorten that eighty four down to you know maybe seventy two months or even a little bit less if if possible but it's nice to know the for the next seven years you can have a believably low payment for doing that crosses doing that drummers do I suspect there to be more like but there's a lot of deferred payments out there no payments for six months no payments for ninety days there's any kind of incentive that you might have the ability to imagine it's probably out there as the auto industry reacts to the corona virus and what goes on they are they are shutting some production as we go and that's for a couple reasons one is that they've got to clean the factories because I don't that's not something typically that they take time for the second and more importantly there's a lot of cars already out there and then when something like this comes along people are shopping as often as they would and they are banned as quickly but let me tell you this I promise you one thing people are still buying cars and their bottom dealers that are having as good a March so far as they had last year and that's a little bit hard to believe I get that but they are in if they're off they're off very little ten percent is the most I've heard now existing worsens and we head toward the end of this month thank they're they're lost sales numbers could get higher we'll see but so far people are still buying cars I got a great analysis for delivery of basal twenty five times yesterday between him I need good grief with all the news that's pretty unbelievable so you wanna talk about it it's a hundred ninety six seventy seven seventy seven eight hundred doctors six seventy seven seventy seven my trusty sidekick is here and Gerry my dear departed saintly Irish mother would be proud of me last couple of weeks yes I have washed my hands more than I ever did when I was a little boy and he's a cavern wash your hands before you come to dinner if you wash your hands off your mom yeah you have you know I'm I'm the same way hi I wasn't Hey I wash my hands a lot but I didn't do it the right way and now I'm following the advice washing for a long time in warm water with soap the whole deal so yeah I think that's I think that's prudent yeah if you haven't subscribed our newsletter here from car for USA do so today the number one most clicked on article this week was keeping your car germ and virus free I give you tips for that why is that important well obviously because the ground of ours but the other thing this article it was not only tell you what to use but what not to use especially if you have leather seats you can really screw some say top Clinton was something that that will drive that letter out make it start to crack and peel I'll give you all that subscribe today will give it to you today and first off today we talk to Dan in Portland Oregon hello dance how are you buddy how about you thank you very much Hey the reason I'm calling is I'm trying to pick a pick up truck a small pickup truck I currently drive a two thousand one Dodge Dakota and I would get another one but they don't make them anymore so I narrowed my search down to the Chevy Colorado and the Toyota Tacoma and I've got a few questions for you if you don't mind which one would you suggest economically between the Colorado in a coma the question before I interview here how long are you likely to keep the struck well like I said I'm driving a two thousand one Dodge Dakota so I'm gonna keep this one till the wheels fall soon when you ask me economically I'm gonna assume that you made over the life of the vehicle right yes Sir that's going to be the common plants down okay it's going to cost you more up front but I would say yes that hi a difference no better truck for long term reliability it's it's you almost got a ride to where one of them out I'll tell I'll tell the story one more time total do exist in the western Austin made a million miles and videotaped guy was a really good with his maintenance but the truck could never had a range on the engine and that's typical of a comma I think the Colorado's more comfortable truck I think it's quieter inside rides a little bit better but you know probably two hundred thousand miles and you're done if you want to keep your keep the truck for twenty years it's the Tacoma and I promise you you'll never regret it okay now I'm going back to what you just mentioned a few minutes ago with the the financing I went to a car show here in a couple months ago in Portland and I received an email back from the folks at GM saying that they're offering zero percent financing and payment for a hundred twenty days and I got a I got a email from the Toyota folks they're not doing zero percent now but they I have zero down and zero payments for a hundred twenty days have you ever seen Toyota go to zero percent yes many times but not uncommon that they just don't have to I mean incentives are there to help manufacturers and dealers sell cars and come sells itself I mean people dot com and everybody anything else and so they don't need to do that I do believe there is a cash rebate that you can get in addition to the no payments for like ninety days but but you're gonna need to check with the dealer to be sure about that go with it to come off then you'll never.

"Sixty months right it is eight forty one here on this Friday morning interpersonal love the White House with the business correspondent Karen Travers live in Washington or on Twitter at characters more to care good morning I was the president saying about retribution and about the killing of the general and what's what's going on out there well I I think the comments from the president and the secretary of state over the last day are just prompting more questions from lawmakers right now I who have been upset that they say they're not getting the actual evidence used to justify the strike last week on Qassem Soleimani and remember we've seen some very loud complaints from Democrats and now a handful of Republicans about these briefings just not being satisfactory yesterday the president at the White House and then again at a rally in Toledo said that so the money was actively planning new attacks looking seriously at our embassies and not just the embassy in Baghdad that's much further than we've seen other officials go you know the the specifics about the embassies and that that was the potential imminent attack that's not been backed up by other senior officials and then notably just a couple hours after the president said that secretary state was on television and said that there was no doubt there was a series of imminent attacks being plotted here's the important quote he said we don't know when and where right it's so that would make them not imminent and that was the decision that the presence of the attic because of it yeah and if if the president saying its embassies Pompeii is just not going that far and lawmakers want to know why and you know explain the rationale behind this and I think people are are not getting at the weather not this is making the region safer or better it's just you got to provide the evidence right and and the briefings that they're providing this week they just say are not doing it right good but if the rain should I go any further with this man it does seem that the president change the dynamic of relationship doesn't yeah that did this could be a de escalation right the big concern though right now miss all this with that issued rocket strike on the near the greens on at that the end of see in Baghdad the other day that there is still a very high risk of these pro running and militia groups the proxy groups in the region carrying out revenge attacks for the soul of money death that a Ron can say we didn't do that but the president has made clear that if any of these groups that are under the umbrella you know anybody with ties to Iran carries out something like this he would use that as a reason to retaliate with military action I think the question that is very.

O. and all these other prominent people saying how some like him you know basically let him off the hook because he's a good guy my god man it wasn't just you know what about the crime itself what about the victims who you have some people who are in very volatile positions who had money taken from them and I just understand the fact that well he's a good guy he travels in in big circle so cut him some slack I I mean I didn't see and I didn't see any examples of you know he spends his weekends volunteering at a homeless shelter or helping victims of domestic violence or you know it was none of that it was like yeah he's a great guy elbow level good old boys network yeah and in his attorney Easter Jones and guess what is he going to say said well you know he should be ill judged on his whole life here is a like what so OJ should not be it why are you judging OJ on the right I mean he was a really good football player going to take that into account so yeah and and in another thing in in his past birds presenting cooling pre sentencing letter to the judge he said he stole money because he quote desperately needed money for my family needed to pay for school tuitions income taxes and other necessities including wedding expenses to me that that makes it even worse I know it is it will be one thing and not that's okay but it be slightly more understandable and slightly more palatable if you had said you know I needed to pay for chemo therapy sentence or my family was you know was second night it whatever I mean something not like I'll I'd prefer open bar my kids wedding are you know what they want to go to private schools so I twist the pay my taxes like no one else has to pay taxes he's knocking down is three hundred four hundred grand a year supposedly he's obviously living above his means he's you know maybe hanging with the crowd that is so I just I just did the fact that these people came to his defense has a one time deal it lasted twelve years now head so I'm so glad so it looks like it's gonna spend one lease for night yeah if I if not longer net sixty months one of the thing did you follow this this peeing match between trump band Cuomo the weekend yeah I know you guys you and George and thanks to George Morris for sitting in the last couple weeks trump on Fridays that's it I'm out of here about a New York New York sucks and moving to Florida and it sucks because of it can never be great again because of the current leadership of governor Cuomo and and the Blasi New York among other things the president tweeted taxes in energy costs are way too high up states being allowed to die as other nearby states fracking drill for gold slot quote unquote oil while using taxes in creating jobs by the thousands and so the course the governor god came back and said he's just he's trying to Dodge the the lawsuits over his state tax returns and that and good riddance he's leaving New York I don't believe he was ever a New Yorker anyway because they live in New York does not make you in New York to be a New Yorker is a state of mind it's a set of beliefs it's a set of principles that you live by a new Yorkers do not discriminate and then not anti LGBT Q. and they're not the vests of and they don't spread hate they believe in community so he may have been a New Yorker in name but he never represented the New York spirit so are you saying so I say so I say good riddance good riddance Mr trump sounds a lot like his previous statements about there's no place for you in yeah can service at a place in New York north you're pro life well speaking of Cuomo by the way we have up on the bar Facebook pages as well as a trucking Kelly blog the governor put out a glowing a photo gallery of.

GOP Representative Jim Sensenbrenner to retire

"You I'm gonna be joined in just a few seconds here by congressman Jim Sensenbrenner who has been a powerful member of the United States house of representatives for decades former committee chairman and long time representative of currently called the fifth congressional district and the just the clouds of change a little bit over the years but it's always been a very very large chunk of the Milwaukee suburbs congressman Sensenbrenner good afternoon hi mark how are you doing I'm a great I you have it at all to do you want to share with our audience this afternoon so I'm just going to allow you to share it yes mark I wanna let you and your listeners know all of that I've decided not to seek reelection a year from November I always knew that when the time came for me to step aside I would come to that conclusion and I've done that now it's been a great run for the last forty two years I think I've made a difference both for our district in our country in building the Republican Party and making us safer through the patriot act in this modernization as well as standing up for disabled people and me on board so the time has come I think to pass the torch I'm proud of what I've done and then of what I want to do is to thank everybody who has supported me over the years because I never could have done it alone. obviously you've been there for a long time you had a few health problems have been some health issues in your family are those contributing factors here or have you just decided that you wanna roll off into the sunset and not have to do so much hard work for the rest of your life well first of all I'm not planning on going off into the sunset I will remain active in Wisconsin politics health question the answer is no my wife who has severe aneurysm is stabilized and I am feeling you know up to the job and you all are going to be hearing an awful lot for me during the next sixteen months when I survive my final term of particularly if the Democrats are foolish enough to actually go through an impeachment in the Judiciary Committee that was my next question you do and you're not resigning or anything like that your term would run to January of twenty one and you are going to serve that entire que van is correct I am not resigning I am serving out my term and at the end of this term I will have been in Congress longer than anybody else in Wisconsin history including David OP was that done was that a goal at any point what it all really. for the last two years but you know I I I figured yeah after all the pushing and pulling in the last Congress you know I wanted to be there in this Congress whether we were in the majority or the minority and when you're in the minority of course you have nothing to say about the schedule but I learned a long time ago that when you have a good idea you get a bipartisan sponsor co sponsor of it because in our divided Congress unless you do that it's not going anywhere. have you made a decision as to whether or not you're going to endorse someone who seeks to replace your I'm not going to win Doris anybody I'm sure there's going to be a scrum of Republicans running and I hope they all seek the party endorsement next month or next March the fifth district caucus the only thing I can say to those who are contemplating running are actually running is don't kill each other please. the I. up. ten year of your career you I mean the the what the media will describe me the use different adjectives than those of the conservatives would describe but forceful aggressive feisty combative committed all of those words do come to do come divided describing your career I mean it's hard what you mentioned that you're not going to go watch silently I can't imagine you ever being silent ready thank you not only were a consistent conservative and maybe a little bit ahead of your time in some of your conservative points of view you chose to make yourself vocal and clear and aggressive as you know there are some members of Congress we call a back benchers they go there and you never hear anything from them again and they cast their votes in the collector paychecks and so on you chose from the beginning. to be heard and that the voice of sense in better would be known and would be out there I talk for just a moment about that and about your own style and the way that you've kind of handle the comported yourself in your life tenure in Congress well after my first election I got a call from former president Ford he said Jim you have a safe district you can either be a great constituents Orvis congressman or hire people who can do that my staff has been great or you can be somebody who actually aggressively pursues and passes legislation that was very good advice and that's what I've done really right from the beginning and I don't regret doing that because the staff can do an awful lot of things that they can their goose registration they can't debated they can't vote on it they can't negotiate with the Senate and with the White House and I I just had my staff pull together some figures following Gerry Ford's advice I've been the lead sponsor coast sponsor of four thousand two hundred ninety nine pieces of legislation seven hundred sixty eight of them passed the house and two hundred seventeen of them have been signed into law by six different presidents so I think I made a difference both for our district in for our country and I've kept in touch hundred town meetings average every year nobody can come close to that in there a lot of people who come into the town meetings and say I've been to direct I've been to route and things like that but I think that this is an issue of accountability and I guess somebody could be wishy washy and six months later when things don't turn out correctly people say why didn't he or she tell us that that's not my style some is not going to pass I think people are newer right away. and they are put their efforts into something else. when I got wind that you wanted to have something to say obviously I didn't think it was you announcing reelection because you pronounce your candidacy for reelection ninety seven thousand times that it was something else one of the questions that will come up is why now are you burned out to get tired of the attitude in Washington did that come into play or is it simply that it's time and you want to go out on your own terms while you can still do it on your own terms well it's you know the thing is is that the framers set up the constitution that required compromise which is kind of a naughty word nowadays and it's been frustrating I'll be the first one to admit that I wanted to go out on my own terms I don't haven't announced opponent free election and nobody can come up and say well I forced him out map because there's nobody that has any credibility at math you know the other thing you know is is that I'd like to get a new representative in the fifth district before redistricting because if I served another term and would be leaving in twenty twenty two I can see the wolves on both sides of the aisle on Madison seeing themselves going to Washington and carving the seat up and believe me I have work to make the wall counties more Republican the wall counties have got to be kept together in redistricting if Republicans are going to have any chance of winning a statewide election yeah I guess we should tell people since she has changed a bit over every ten years you're just like I guess could roughly be described as a small portion of western Milwaukee county the northern half of walk a shot I think all they're virtually all of Jefferson I think you have all the virtually all of Dodge and Washington you no longer have sake I think I think I pretty much yeah you're pretty and the city of whitewater the city of white water ice. get a little bit down there and your white water in that so that's it yet it could change a little bit over the years with the redistricting and so on but it is generally bad. a Republican district and wanted which well you had challengers none that were ever very serious I guess my final question to you is was that liberating and allowing you to. not have to worry at all about. taking positions that were in chores by having a district that was perceived is generally safe do you think do you think that allowed you to become an even more effective and outspoken voice for conservatism it was because I mean I think you you pre date even Tommy Thompson's governorship in here what if you think about the foundational roots of the contemporary Republican Party in Wisconsin I mean your the route I mean it's it's been you and everything's calm well you better route well. very clearly so all the way the old nine district was when I was first elected it didn't start out that way half the courthouse in half the legislative delegation in Waukesha county were Democrats we had a party leadership that complained about conservatives at the bar at the Country Club and the next spring with my support down Taylor was elected Waukesha county chairman and with the party signing up for members and me pointing out folks who have fled from the city that is Republicans that really stand up for your values of small government good schools will crime rates lower taxes and you are a shared your previous voting habits and start voting for Republicans they have a lot of people but led by don Taylor bureau have been able to turn walkie Sean Washington counties into the Republican strongholds of they are and in terms of my political legacy I can look back at that it was a great deal of pride. you you may I I said that was my last question I do have another one you obviously timed the announcement the election is next year the primary election which is where all the action to be on the Republican side is you know a full you're a ways you're giving the other would be candidates an opportunity to go on this it will catch anyone by surprise even though you will Sir about obviously the entirety of the term did you have this in your mind last year when you were writing that the the election that you won back in twenty eighteen was the last is this but thought for a while it or did this come up in the last week what where's where's the time line bad where arms of how you come to this well you know what I what I can say is that Sean Duffy and I were the two most responsible for convincing Paul Ryan to run for speaker and I made a commitment at least mentally that I would serve out and be Paul Ryan's good friend in backstop and he gave me a couple of messages to straighten out which were real masses that you know Paul's retirement was a surprise but no surprise but things have gone along so far down the you know I said that you know really we don't need to have an uproar in the fifth district because it will hurt the statewide take care of well you know heard governor Walker and Attorney General Shamil and you know needed to have the the work that I was doing and the endorsements that I could make the keep the the fifth district legislators reelected. sure enough well it's I'm sure we're going to have you on the program is going to be a lot of things that happen over the next sixty months and I appreciate your joining us to make this time I would say epic and historic announcement this afternoon well thank you very much for giving me the opportunity mark okay thanks
