What to expect from iPhone 12 online event

"Are you? What are you expecting out of Apple? Well I always know what I'm hoping for, and then what I'm like realistically expecting. So I'm expecting the new iphones basically, it'd be the focus they talked about speed. So yeah, five G. faster chips faster screen maybe fingers crossed hoping actually we should talk about that. We're going to get the the topic today by the way of Samsung we're going to get into Samsung. Like how they deal with screens but I've been saying that at a thousand bucks, you should expect a high refresh rate and I think even saying that some similar things but is that is it okay that apple doesn't like generally the rest of their animations are really smooth or is it like this is a mess you know it's so for Apple, there's a couple of. Weird specifics that apply to them. So number one for me, the iphone is these smooth is sixty hertz phone that I consistently use all give them that but also to apple's like the one company that consistently gets away with the four thousand dollars I should be getting this SPEC and I'm not. They don't get away from that as far as numbers on paper. Pretty. Constantly. So we're not GONNA get a huge four, thousand, five, hundred, million, battery we're. Not GonNa get US sixty four megapixel camera but just you know higher frustrate is one of those things I just I love it on every other phone I can't expect it to not be awesome on the iphone just give it to US already. Yeah. Right. Had It on the IPAD for. Years to have something like that. I mean I'm expecting the exact same thing. I'm hoping that the stuff with like the the wide band doesn't mean that it's more expensive on verizon decided to do that for millimeter wave because a bunch of other people been doing matt but I guess we'll see

First Impressions on COD Cold War's Multiplayer Alpha

"Speaking of the future we did get a little taste of the Cold War multiplayer this weekend as they dropped with, they're calling an Alpha I always think it's cute when these AAA developers drop an open Alpha like this is an Alpha for those who don't know is supposed to be like the rawest form of your game before you really get the kinks worked out an Alpha is not hey, everyone can download this and play it. And you're good at Oh. By the way, our game is also coming out in like three weeks like that is not how call Beta one, Beta, two or something like that. Alpha's a bit generous to say like Yeah we've never tested this out until right now. Yeah. Alpha will figure this all out. But give him a minimum project the same time on that though because doing that's going to allow them to see a lot of tendencies catch a lot of bugs. Yeah. There's already a ton that we will dive into but yeah, like I think. WHATEVER THEY WANNA call it. This was a good move on trailer park this very different than how we saw infinity ward handled their game already right. We already hear about a lot of coming changes issues that we may have right now may even be gone by the time we actually play the next open Beta here in just a few weeks now disclaimer on all this. This was only on playstation. So as only on the PS four as far as I know, it might have been on Xbox to you, but it was only on console just place it just playstation. So a nugent did play it the last time I pull the only thing I play my playstation at the moment is for NHL. That is it like I have a couple of single player games. That I might hop on here and they're like Spiderman last of us but for the most part, just NHL I have not played a first person shooter with a controller since call of duty World War Two which I think was the last one not. So. That that will. disclaimer here, this is just coming from a normal perspective K.. Yet I could talk about how you know I sucked. But to be honest I didn't even talk that bad because the auto so ridiculous that it. Makes me look a little decent little decent. disclaimer there now, right off the bat though I will say this and you mentioned it as soon as we started playing when this Moose over to PC and the pros get to play this game on apiece. Refresh rates and. Just everything that. Cleaning it up. They are going to be blown away. They're going to perform so much better. I feel like we're just going to get a better game because I noticed it immediately like right when I got in God we were playing a timid join day. Twelve map initially because we wanted to try out the new ship NAP and if our modern from not whatever whatever whatever you call it. Yeah. Like I mean the ship nap the big ships. By the way what did I say did I lie when I say any game that has a battleship map on it is already a top five game. Oh, very cool map but now that has like three shifts on it that you can jump from ship to ship to ship. Diving. In the water getting vehicles, I'm not saying it's going to be competitive in east sports because it won't be from a casual standpoint run that twenty four, seven, I want to twenty four, seven ship Matt playlist are like that ship nap a lot more than the snow map. Yeah. That were for the big map that. Out on the names of these mounts but yeah, I mean I noticed it right away like the sixty hertz graphics like it. All just felt like I was playing on my old computer that I got rid of like a couple years ago. Now, you know like it just felt like I was playing on outdated equipment like I was playing things low settings compared to what I'm used to, and so that was the first thing that I thought of also is man like we're gonNA get a product. They've ever had before in call of duty lead just right away just 'cause it didn't play bad. It's just it wasn't as good as you would want it to be you know try and constantly. Yup. First thing that hopped out to me. I, think overall time to kill. It feels good. It is longer than what modern warfare was I kinda like. Me Too because it was one thing is when you played modern warfare for the first time I, remember playing the Beta or whatever they called it for modern warfare and I remember I got my first kill and laughed out. Loud. How because remember I they started with the foam us in warfare and I laughed at how fast they died. I took you back. The hundred fifty HP or whatever they're doing for. There's like. It did feel good. I didn't have an issue with it like I felt like it took. The right amount of blitz you know just felt it felt okay. The way I did was I will say this it allows what is a very underrated thing I think modern warfare was missing. It. Allows the turnaround kill. It allows for for that clutch moment to where if someone's coming up from behind, you can turn around and get them right into had that level of casual level. It will create that hype. So I liked not. Time to that was a big. That was a big piece of it like I think that. Just felt good. Overall map seemed okay a little. You know they're six we six. So it's hard to judge. But seemed I liked him I really like I thought Moscow is I think Moscow is going to be a really fun map to watch on a competitive level especially for before they have some like good wide lanes on there I I love the the lanes that we saw a lot more traditional. To call of duty than what we saw this past year with modern warfare is you can very clearly conceived distinct three lanes on most of these maps Moscow I thought was really good. I think satellite is going to be a really fun to watch. I know you didn't play too much but I thought satellite was a really good map of Miami. I have some concerns about just because of the openness of the middle of the But again, it does at least have the proper three lanes but the really spread out. So very curious to see how like Miami looks like a five eighty, five map instead of a four before to me on how it's currently laid out but. Again. I really liked him I thought the mouse were good and maybe that's just me grading attempt to light modern warfare maps. I did not like any of the modern warfare. Along. Yeah I was GONNA say it doesn't a lot to be to modern warfare Matt.

Dual-screen Surface Duo marks Microsoft's return to smartphones

"The other exciting future is foldable Microsoft's screen android device. The surface duo is available for preorder now for one. Hundred Ninety nine dollars, ask. Arriving September tenth. Being being excited about this product, the surface duo has to eighteen hundred, thirteen, fifty, five, point, six, inch, sixty, hertz led screens. Now when you unfolded those screens connect to form an eight point, one inch workspace, but it's not a single screen like with the Samsung Galaxy full because there's still the hinge in the middle and Microsoft's like we're not trying to be that. We're not trying to to have a foldable screen. We're just trying to make a bigger workspace displays are both gorilla glass as a result because they don't have to bend and they work as side-by-side Ma monitors essentially, it's four point eight millimeters thick another big. That's when it's open. Of course, it folds up it's nine point nine millimeters even then it's not too bad. Also the whitest ever android phone. As. Ours Technica pointed out ninety three millimeters wide that is bigger than even the biggest galaxy note that ever existed. It uses one eleven megapixel camera that can record four K. video at up to sixty frames per second runs on a snapdragon eight, fifty, five last generation processor, not eight, sixty five. Six Gigs of Ram. One hundred twenty eight or two, hundred, fifty, six gigs of storage has lt e not five g. but maybe don't. And two batteries one under each screen that combined for three thousand, five, hundred, seventy, seven Nila amp hours. So the specs aren't. Notch they're they're okay but they're not top notch also fingerprint reader sport for surface pen. All ANDROID APPS can run on it. And there are surface. Made. APPS AN API out. For developers to make more of them, that take advantage of the dual display and could like put the keyboard and one side or no taking on one side. And Get. Use Out of that form factor. But as I mentioned, it's a thousand, three, hundred, ninety, nine dollars, and while that's not as expensive as the Samsung Galaxy fold it ain't cheap. Yeah. It feels like a test. To me because at that price and at these specs, you're gonNA find out real quick who your buyers are and. And will extend past the people who just have to have the coolest gadget where a total android heads and have to have every model ever made or love Microsoft stuff or whatever does it extend much past that the two most exciting products I've ever seen out of Microsoft is honestly this I think is really cool. But the specter too low, and there's not a great argument for use case for me

A quick look at the new Pixel 4a

"All right last week on the show we talked about the news that the Pixel for a had released or not rather let me back up not release. It'd been announced. It's going to be released on August twentieth I believe. So you still have a little more than a week to wait if you WANNA spend three, hundred fifty dollars on a very mid range device by google. And then I ended up getting a device, the Pixel for a like a day later. So it came a day late to to miss the show unfortunately Sarlis's. I know it's just the way it goes, but I have it. I've been playing around with it. I'm going to be giving this the full review treatment on hands on tech next Monday But I've been I've been playing around with this pixel for a quite a bit. I've got my SIM card loaded in there I've been relying on it and so for her I mean I, feel like the Reviews have been incredibly positive on this as they were to the three last year and as I was I definitely consider three eight one of the best phones in my opinion of last year for a variety of reasons, this phone is is right there as well. I gotTa say, I'm pretty proclaimed like it's just been a a great device and haven't really missed not being on my for excel as a result. So. Just real real quick kind of like I. Look At. It has the plastic unibody design that is really kind of I don't know Dole I suppose you're not buying this for style points. Let's just say it's still kind of has the pixel quality to it, but it is a plastic unibody design I took a camping and got jostled around a few different times and it took a beating and I couldn't really find any marks on it. I thought it was a good kind of endurance test camping to rely on this I was pretty happy with that. Five point eight inch, amyloid, ten, eighty p displays, sixty hertz refresh. So they're not doing anything fancy with like a high refresh rate or anything has the snapdragon seven thirty on the inside six gigs of Ram, for three hundred, fifty dollars I feel like that is incredibly reasonable and then one hundred, twenty gigs of storage. So you you don't find multiple configurations of the Pixel for a it's just this one configuration that I have in my hands right here. One hundred sorry twelve point two megapixel rear facing camera single single lens up there. F one point seven after, and then an eight megapixel front facing camera, which is the little Hole Punch camera up at the top, and then you know a little bit of the extras like the headphone jacks that has an analog headphone port at the top USB bottom firing speakers eighteen, watt fast charge and yeah, I mean this this phone is if you've been. If you've been considering waiting for the four a because you knew that the three was as solid as it was for its price. Well, then you're probably delighted to know that this fifty dollars less than the three was. So it's three, hundred, fifty dollars and it gets Mo- most of the things right on and on my early review anyways it gets most of the things. Right that it really needed to to land right the cameras great it's felt it's light. It takes a beating the display. His sharp battery life is excellent. So I'm going to give this a full review here very soon but I just wanted to kind of get this on on the show briefly and just say like I'm really enjoying using this device and I don't Miss. My other device and I know from my perspective that when I'm using it advice and I find myself not missing like not wanting to go back and be like rude I just WanNa go home Then it's a that it's a good device and I'm pretty happy with it so far.

Galaxy Note 20 Ultra review: Everything we love -- and don't -- so far

"Bunch. So renew was coming. It's all official now. So Galaxy note twenty, no twenty old tra- you have ultra I doubt we will ever get our hands on the no twenty because no one should buy it Ultra Tim has galaxy watched three actually have one of those or here doubts on in two sizes Galaxy Buds live, which we will just call the galaxy beans little being ear buds neither of US have those I don't know that we're going to. Like, you're satisfied with the buds plus I like these I dunno like the only don't know how they go in your ear. the beans are official and then the Galaxy Tab, a seven seven, plus which we also don't have because we haven't reviewed at android tablet like seventeen years Those are official although they do look really really good. We talk about those for just a brief minute if we want to and then finally they showed off the phone that I will sell everything in my house to buy in that will be the galaxies Z fold. To Oh. Yeah. So we'll save that for a minute. Let's let's talk. No Twenty, nine, twenty ultra. Cool start here so They announced There's two phones obviously ones Nice. The Ultra One's not so nice. The regular note twenty I'm being extra critical here because. Samsung wants to charge a thousand dollars for the regular one. The, ultras thirteen hundred. The regular one has a ten eighty p sixty hertz display in a plastic body and they want a thousand dollars for IT I. I know there's other stuff going on here. They packed all the other stuff in it, but those two things certainly do not scream. Thousand Dollars to me No. But. They did do that. So It's available for preorder. Now, Bulfon's actually we are. Now They Arrive August twentieth or twenty first somewhere in there and everyone has them. There's unlocked models. There well, I should say the ultra a while it is a huge phone and I don't think I could use the thing. It's got kind of everything again right although. The storage at one hundred, twenty, eight Gig that lower than last year's like did the note ten plus days was to fifty six yeah. So they dropped that it does quite easy. Display Hundred Twenty Hertz, which is which is sweet snapdragon need sixty, five plus five g twelve gig Ram five, twelve, top tier storage hundred, twenty Gig on the low end and yeah I think that's kind of step backwards. we got way too many cameras including one, hundred, eight megapixel big I. Laser autofocus forty, five, hundred, million power battery. I know that still large but the ultra I think that's twenty. Five thousand south slightly smaller but you do have an aspen. The spend has like super low latency and stuff, right? It's like the fanciest s date and this. What else we have stereo speakers you have ms again for Samsung pay of course Oh we don't have the super fast charging rate like the. Thirty five or whatever it was from last year like that's not back. So it's like they took away a couple of. We have like an upgraded superfast charging to dotto or something I can tell you the team last year. But like remember they were it was like a forty five watts like a forty five watts Samson charger. Discipline one either doesn't support that or they're just not maybe not including it. It's something weird like that. So shocked kind of it seems like they kind of took away a couple of things to keep the price is still thirteen hundred dollars sound like they cut any corners here no either way it's a it's a pretty crazily specked out found. It comes in the mystic bronze which Tim has everything comes in mystic bronze. There's also a black and then there's also a white version Of course, they send you the mystic bronze because they're so proud of mystic bronze I don't know.

Galaxy Unpacked News

"Today there was no surprise in what was announced because everything leaked. In the days and weeks before the event, in fact, last night. Evan. Blasts. Just does leaked every single. hooped it out. It was there on his feed if you wanted to learn about what was going to happen. In on August, fifth, you could go to his feet nonetheless, there was a lot to talk about. So we'll start with the galaxy note twenty. There are two phones, they are not that different incised this year, but they are very different feature sets. There is three hundred dollars between them. Along with a lot of differences in. The way that they're built, they're designed their cameras, their battery, their storage, basically everything else about them, but they look fairly similar. And we'll start there. So Andrew, you've got a chance to play with these two phones at aforementioned hands on session. What's your quick take on them? So, yet, it's a different strategy than the no ten as you as you say there that the the note we kind of that, the note twenty was going to be the small one and it's not These phones are within a couple millimeters of each other in terms of height and width, and only about ten grams apart on weight. So they're both. Big phones third of a roughly galaxy s twenty plus size. They're actually both a little smaller than s twenty ultra. Fantastic. But the you just immediately noticed that the ultra is the high end high high end one, and there's something a little off about the twenty They don't even use the same design, which is kind of weird. The this kind of flat boxy. Style with the you know really tight corners on the note, twenty old Tra is classic note, and then you look at the regular twenty in, it's kind of more rounded. The bengals are a little bigger at as a flat screen. The the radius of the corners on the display is different for some reason, it just doesn't really look like the same phone and then you flip it over in the back. Is this Matt. Plastic finish rather than glass and And it's just so weird when you see them side by side now, I'm not sure how normal people will perceive these when they look at them in person may be one on one rather than together. But when you look at them together, it just feels like this is one actual note, and then another like galaxy s something or another that they decided to put a stylus in, and then you look at the internals and that kind of the story continues there. Yeah I mean, there's something to be said about pudding, the snapdragon eight, sixty five plus in the main line, no twenty. But also you know festoon it with a plastic back or as they call it classic because they want to bring black. Did. Glass whole of some sort but I don't know what's what's what's your take on that? There really is so severely separating these two phones for the first time in functionality. But putting of, but putting obviously, what is a very expensive component in the snapdragon eight, sixty, five plus front and center? Yeah. I assume that the eight sixty five pluses there. From just a standardization standpoint because they're releasing at the same time. So they might as well have the same chipset with the same radio. You know, obviously, they both have the same five G. capabilities, but it doesn't make a whole lot of sense because you don't need the eight, sixty, five there when it's a ten ADP display at sixty hertz when Samsung when? You know one twenty Hertz across the board on everything else and talked up this huge game about how one twenty Hertz is. You know all amazing on the no twenty ultra and it's on the tablet seven reduces your aspen latency. They went sixty hertz on the display and they only put eight gigs of Ram in it so. The the higher end chip set on its own doesn't make a lot of sense, and that's not really ever going to be the bottleneck and what you're doing. Anyway. So I, kind of just write that off. But would you add up all those little things? It seems. Unnecessary to harp on it so much. But you got to remember that these by Samsung Zone emission are for the the fans who are really ended this kind of SPEC, nerd stuff getting the best of the best, and then you deliver this note that we're talking about this with the League's feels more like a note, twenty light. But of course, it's priced the same as in as twenty. Yeah. That sounds very strange. Mean hot. So you remember going hands on with the note, no ten light at CS earlier this year, and that phone was positioned as the you know giving everybody the note experience for. Six hundred dollars. But if you dug into the specs, it was actually. Less interesting than the s ten light that eventually went on sale in North America. So what's your take on that the the? Delta. Between these two phones and kind of the price difference being only three hundred dollars even though there is such a major SPEC difference. I mean I think the fact that they both have the same processor definitely helps kind of close that gap a bit. But a again, you know sixty hertz and and the plastic backing, it's. It's really strange because the s twenty series starts at the same thousand bucks. You're getting all the Nice things that the new twenty alter has i. think the thing that. Sort of justifies the regular note twenty away maybe not quite is that it's not a downgrade in any sort of way from the note, Ten Asya losing the the glass back You know I've seen a lot of people lately saying that they prefer plastic bags because they're. You know they're not as fragile and whatever else. But I. I, definitely would prefer the glass personally. But you know like you're not losing sixty. Hertz. Urges, are you not losing one twenty hurts because the note ten had sixty to begin with?

Google Pixel 4a Has Ushered in a New Era of Excellent Cheap Phones

"Google announced the Pixel for a phone with a blog post with some with superbeets. The Pixel for a has a five point eight, one, inch, twenty, three, forty by ten, eighty, sixty hertz led display snapdragon at seven thirty g system on a chip six gigs of Ram one, hundred, twenty, eight gibbs gigs of S. two point one storage and a thirty one, Forty Mil. Battery a single twelve megapixel camera on the back and an eight megapixel camera on the front and a USB. USB Port and a headphone Jack as well phone. Wow. Know. What about that? He has a bigger battery than the four. A smaller top vessels well, doesn't the depth sensing required for air gestures consensus it's nicer looking than the four. It's not as powerful as the iphone se or one plus words, but it's also about one hundred dollars cheaper the Pixel for as available for preorder. Now, for three, hundred, Fifty Dollars Shipping on August twentieth. One more thing at the end of its post announcing the four, a Google also announced it with Havi Five G. version of the quarry for four, hundred, ninety, nine dollars and a five G. Pixel five coming this autumn. Yes. So the only feature, we didn't know because of the long delay was everybody thought this was going to come out in May and almost every detail about it leaked over the intervening months was the price and the price seems to be everyone's favourite feature at three, hundred, fifty dollars. It's one hundred dollars exactly cheaper than the one plus Nord, it's about fifty to one hundred, fifty dollars cheaper than the iphone e depending on what model you're talking about. It's quite a bit cheaper than other mid range phones as well but then Google goes and undermines or as some call it Osbourne's itself. By announcing, it will have a five G. version of the out in the autumn almost like saying don't buy yet. We're GONNA have a version with five G. also pixel five, which we kind of knew that that one's less than undermining but the version of the four, al cost more cost four, hundred, ninety, nine dollars. So if you're into that three, hundred, fifty dollars price point I guess maybe you don't wait for the. Five G. Because you're like five won't be widespread for a few years anyway. But I don't know that it seems like Google just wanted to get this out there and say look okay, we made it. It was a pain maybe they're not making as many of them as they had wanted in. So they're not pushing it as hard. I don't know but it's an odd launch for something that for for people who want to. Mind their mind. Their pennies is a very attractive phone. It is that said, the timing is curious as you mentioned I mean listen a five hundred dollar phone. A lot of people are like, oh, that sounds great I mean that's not even really expensive based on you know what a flagship phone will run you these days it kind of feels like to me that. There is some supply chain issues going on here Google's leg at just just released. And like sell for real cheap and you know, let's move the merch. and. Then we've got we've got other stuff going on this to push so hard since we didn't make as many of them kind. You're Kinda right it kind of feels like that. Yeah. The one thing and Roger I. Don't know if you want to weigh in on this for people who want the bargain price three, hundred, fifty dollars very attractive it's not very future-proof. That's not dragging seven thirty is not the seven sixty it's not even the best mid level snapdragon processor it obviously doesn't have five G. I mean we you end up spending more because you'll have to replace the sooner. I would say that for a lot of people like, for example, my wife, she wouldn't use a lot of the additional features. She just needs a phone that does all the basic does the context does a photos I can share through instagram or facebook. The only problem with her phone is it's no longer being supported right? It's a, it's a five year old one plus three and so it works great but it just it has no, no longer has any updates for security and all available. APSO having something like this also means that you know you get a new phone that's inexpensive but it's also part of the cold Google we strip it down to the bare essentials. There's no bloat wear that's added and it does what it does like eighty percent of what most people do on the phone. Yeah and if she still rocking a one plus three, this processor will probably be fine for her. She's going to be doing heavily intense things would use the processor. So yeah, that makes sense.

Yes someone when asked. I don't know if you mentioned ninety. Her saw someone before left. Mentioned ninety hurts <hes> so far. I haven't really noticed a difference and that was sort of what my thoughts were going into did the phone. I was like you know. Sixty hertz versus ninety hurts on open going to notice much of a difference and really. I don't think i have a coming from the seven perot again again but whenever i fire up or look at the razor phone too which is somewhere around here <hes> it is noticeable sixty one twenty <hes> but ninety. I don't know some of the scrolling here and there might look smoother obviously on the one plus but probably it's. I don't know if it's all too <music> noticeable yet not using like pixel three as and crap which up terrible screen not terrible but they're not like the best in my regular pixel three the and then compared to this this thing looks he's in compared to that thing i mean the pixel threes displays fine by this thing i mean samsung just know according to display meet yeah me you slay me the new d._x. Omar like do we just kind of them ago. We don't really care dude. I mean what i don't like about display display. Is that literally. It's just ten thousand words. <hes> you know detailing bunch of stuff. I don't really understand so i mean the guys made a good <hes>. He's made good <hes> she's picked out a good little area that no one else is really an to <hes> h yeah and in it's fine <hes> the weird thing is like samsung says it's clear that samsung sends these phones early and things like that and so your test that it's just like the mark stuff right right like they get this stuff early and everyone's like oh..

"To Europe, which is on fifty sometimes to see some TV sets in the lights flickering. So they moved it up to sixty. So you just can't see the lights flickering now. Now, you're you've added a a frequency unnatural frequency. You know to the earth. I'm you're sorta stock because you know, you you don't want flickering lights for now. You've got the power lines that he was suggesting. So now, we've got sixty Hertz power lines that are, you know, running through the corridors now right now, they found out the World Health Organization declared sixty Hertz power line frequencies to be a possible cause cancer a class to be carcinogen because of studies they had done on children that got childhood leukemia. That was back in two thousand and two when they figured that out. So it's it's possible. It's not for sure it's not probable. It's a it's a possible thing 'cause they noticed that the kids that were getting childhood leukemia when they went around and did it epidemiological study they found that they usually either their houses back onto the power lines or their their house was wired incorrectly with that knob and tube wiring, which makes huge magnetic fields. So so I would say. If you you know, if you live on one of these power lines, that's very very close to you. And you're you're sleeping in this high magnetic field that potentially might cause some problems. So you hire somebody called the billing biologists to come to your home. And check, you know, how much, you know, magnetic fields. These things are are admitting. Now, if you're away from these things for probably about two hundred meters, you you really got nothing to worry about. But if you're if your backyard, and you, you know, walk out, you know, the fence in your backyard, and there's power lines are right there. That's suspect. So you might want to get that charging and not everybody gets childhood leukemia or leukemia that lives on these power lines. It's a genetic problem much like autism. And they found the, gene..

"Place as plastic is really amazing because they're they're picking out all the stuff of like, here's why this is actually arable fucking device. Okay. Maybe we'll see. I don't know. I mean, this literally came out like to an last night. Yeah. So somebody tweeted. No, you can flip it to like, hey, run this shit and NTSC in sixty sixty Hertz. Yeah. But I like getting those games to perform consistently is a little more complicated than that. Does that mean both Rum's or on their or both isos earlier? So I think there are I think you can technically run some Powell discs in NTSC. I'm not sure I'm not sure if they put both versions of the games on there that would be Dr because that would be like why would you do that unless you're in development? And you're like, okay, we're as we're developing this thing, we're keeping all the stuff on here because we want to see the performance gets too. But to leave that on post release would be bizarre as digital foundry. Did it hardware tear down? Yeah. Did they Tolbert the department? They know what's inside of space storage spaces. I don't think. That's okay. That's what I wanna do anything USB keyboard? Yeah. So it is. Again, this is all happening like in the last few hours, people are still trying to figure it out polygons said that they tried or is it we weren't able to access the hidden menus using apple Logitech or Razer keyboards. So you're basically going to have to pull again, every keyboard, you can find and hope one of them works. I've got a really shitty low to high death. Yeah. Or door by the thing. Now, I kind of want why would that work? Because they just let that accessible. No, no, why would some they're sending they should be sending the same key code to the why would work with some keyboards and not others. What was it again to the escape key? That's what. Yeah. Maybe it's probably a limited USB driver. That is only ringing up. I would think maybe the power that's getting sent out of that USB port. Maybe some of those keyboards take a different power or draw. Yeah. And they're just like the keyboard is it working? It's probably driver for as if I had to guess. Places are pretty finicky. Maybe but keyboard drivers are usually pretty generic at this point. So I don't know. I got a really shitty keyboard hooked up at my desk, that seems like sort of keyboard that would work. Well, apple keyboards are pretty barebones too. But they got all this All this weird. weird specially extra, but that's true. Always trying to do weird nonstandard stuff. But apple let's see we'll save states available for game. You can change the region people. There's a reset air threat where people were kind of messing around with the stuff, and they say that Tekken three row seems to run it full speed. I'm going to set. It's NTSC..

"And i keep thinking with each subsequent generation of surface pc's we're going to you know they'll be some it might take top period of time but there'll be a transition where they'll go from surface connect with which is usb based and they will transition to thunderbolt three over usb see like the rest of the industry but it occurred to me when i was this thing this this triggered this thought you know surface connect which is the connected you see on this dongo of course is usb based like i said i wrote in an article that is usb three exactly it's not exactly usb three but it's it's usb based it has the same basic limitations of usb from a performance perspective meaning for display purposes you can drive to external displays but if they're four k displays the can't run a sixty hearts he can only drive one sixty external display is this kind of a minor point for most people but thunderball three all says better transfer rates for data and and so those purples can be a lot faster i think the reason they say they don't or haven't at least one reason is backward compatibility and they didn't they put out a statement like ages ago saying don't worry we're never going to back away from the surface connect port so if you can buy things that use it and you can have cases made you know that take advantage of it and you don't have to worry she's factors into my new theory okay that's interesting that you said that companies that provide pc's to the enterprise dell hp leonova one of the guarantees that they make to the companies where their customers is that if you buy into a platform whatever it might be that the peripherals expansion devices the you know the batteries in the old days when you said batteries it would slide out and said a dvd drives and so forth will remain compatible with future versions of these devices for some period of time usually seven to ten years microsoft has a rich history of tenure support cycles on enterprise products and you could imagine that for microsoft the importance of the enterprise businesses the service line is very strong and that they want to have that same kind of guarantee and i i understand that and actually that's a legit concern i i if you think about that from a like a consumer perspective the the note the the thought that some future generation of surface pc we'll have a power supply that is not compatible with the power supply you have on your previous computer is nonsense there's no reason for that kind of backward compatibility especially when a hampers performance in the future but for businesses that actually make sense answer here's my thought and i'm curious what you guys think about this i think they are going to add thunderbolt three capabilities to future service pc's but they're not necessarily going to do it the a usb port although by the way they could do that as well i think what they're going to do is rev the service connect port okay support thunderbolt three capabilities and that in order to make this work you could have if you kind of imagine what goes off of this thing you really aren't that many things power power cables and power adapters and the surface stock so there could be a third generation surface doc i could look identical to the new one i guess the finn might be a little different if you plug it into a new device it will support thunderbird three sixty hertz four k two displays plug it into a surface book one surface book to whatever legacy device it will just work like it used to like he was being so when i was reading about tips i gotten on the next the revved versions of surface laptop and surface pro five you know the current one i keep hearing they're going to have surface connect still but i also heard that they could get a usb sea port probably won't be booked like you're saying we'll probably won't be thunderbolt.

"Wouldn't love that arrangement but i could do it another option is to get a different monitor for out there something like either eater like a four k monitor which i there are four k monitors that work with the old vic with the twenty fifteen laptops that's what i do at work that's my work i actually have two four k monitors side by side and and it is pretty nice like i'd still prefer a single five k which you can i think you can also do with that twenty fifteen actually i'm thinking that you have are you sure yeah positive okay but well unless if our listeners know if there's a five k monitor that can work at sixty hertz with two thousand fifteen metro pro i'm happy to hear about it i don't think that's possible but anyway i if it is i'm i'd love to be wrong about that but anyway so so i could just get four k monitoring even then like it's hard to find four k monitors that like that people will officially say yes this works at sixty hertz with the with the twenty fifteen laptops even the ones that gpo like it's actually that's actually pretty hard to to find but anyway i can give you on they're not gray while not give you one but you know what i mean like i have that at work in the monitors are sufficient they're not tremendous but they're sufficient and the one thing i will say while i'm thinking of it just in case you go and do something without talking to me which is something that you've been known to do from time to time don't you don't use hdmi because you will not get sixty hertz yes what does the other venerable connector slash mini display port well yeah but then i forget what it is going into the monitor it goes me justly port to display port yeah yeah you're right you're right yeah you have to do that to get sixty hertz 'cause i almost sent the one i have back when we got it at work until i did a little googling and realized oh no no i can't get sixty hertz out of this i just need to not use hdmi so a couple of people in the chat are saying that i can use the thunderbolt three to thunderbolt to adaptor to plug in the five k to my laptop i believe they are correct however this is what the apple stores do with the lg ultrafine being plugged into the trash can mac pro because it has the same limitation if you look if you look closely at the screens you see it's actually running at a reduced quality what it's doing so you can actually because the thunderbolt three two after works by directionally so you can plug the three two after into the usb monitor then you can take thunderbolt to cable and plug it into the adapter and plug it into your laptop and if you do that what will happen is the laptop it seems to be the laptop basically down renders it renders it to like a roughly four k sized buffer and then upscale at the monitor side kind of transparently along the way so it does appear from far away to be five k like things are the right size for to be five k but if you look up close the pixels are really kind of blurry and a little bit off like it's just it's not quite right because it actually is down sampling and then put it back up so you can do that with the with the adapter and i have that adapter but it's not it's not something i wanna do but anyway the the option exists for me to buy four k monitor have it out there the problem is once the summer is done like i don't have any use for that monitor anymore like i what am i going to do with it that being said four key monitor's arm that expensive it's one of the cheaper options i have it's you know for my initial searching will say i can get a four k twenty four inch not twenty seven to twenty seven inches the wrong size for four k the right before ks twenty four is correct but twenty four inch four k 's looked at their about.
