"Inclined members those are the people who get it was the people who understand the excesses of the past twenty years and are concerned about government force. Obviously the dem's oh she's always going the wrong direction when it comes to economic force and coercion but i i appreciate their concern over civil liberties even if they go in the wrong direction on other issues. It's it's it's a very novel feeling for me to read the document. The squad puts out actually agree with. I mean it only happens maybe one out of one hundred times But you know on this issue. I think it's an absolutely understandable concern because we have seen these tactics start to creep mean this The killala judy kind of fetishes. Ation of violence. stands in stark contrast. What is actually worked to resolve conflicts and a sustainable way does the politicisation of the january. Sixth commission. Bother you at all. I suppose there's a certain element of house proceedings. That just is naturally supposed to be politicized it as a political body. It is the people. It's always going to be that way. But i while i support the commission happening because it's always good to learn and have investigation. It does bother me that the commission's sort of founding documents the founding bill that launched it labeled january sixth event domestic terrorism. Because isn't that the thing we're supposed to discover whether or not it is that whether or not it meets that metric of domestic terror. Do you think that that sort of sets off on the wrong foot and there's something that we still need to learn. Well let me just be clear. So we had a bipartisan independent commission that was proposed thirty five. Republicans joined democrats in voting in support of that back in may lead man died in south and so One of the one of the consequences. I was fearing was that this will be come. A reprisal of the benghazi committee select committee approach thought ultimately came to fruition. That's what occurring right now. You know the. I actually don't take issue with the phrase Domestic terrorism in from a definitional standpoint. So if you look at what. Our statutory definition is. It's the application of violence. You know to to court worse you know a political at And i think that was exactly what many folks had intended to occur on january six was to prevent the congressional convening and the certification of the electoral college vote that is a constitutional political process. That was erupted a gathering that was intentionally dispersed by individuals using violent means..

"You are. The fantasy is that the left has about about the political process about the virus about the necessary measures to lock down about the way that our constitutional system works. Those fantasies are for all intents and purposes the practical reality of our country because they've got the power they wield all of the institutions. And so that's where we are. You're seeing this play out not just at the bureaucracy not just in the big tech oligarchs not just in among the elected representatives who are now required up at the capitol again even though virtually all of them have vaccines not just on the january. Sixth commission you're seeing it at the olympics. And i think this is what is driving people. So i'm not gonna say is driving them crazy. It's what what is really frustrating. People about the question of simone. Biles this olympian. Who is apparently quite accomplished. Just deciding she doesn't feel like competing and so she's gonna it's gonna focus on her because it's not about america it's about her. It's the delusion that people are upset about so simone biles. We talked about it yesterday. And the show. Simone biles this athlete that i had never heard of until two nights ago. Because i don't watch the olympics. And i don't really care and it's no skin off my nose. Simone biles starts to compete. She takes a spot on the olympic team and then she says i don't feel like it. I'm not having fun anymore. It's not and that now. They're spinning it and they're saying well it's because she was in great danger. It's because she could have died or they're trying to make up all but that's not what someone bile said some byles. Yeah i'm just not feeling and it's not fun i got i'm gonna focus on the physically. I'm fine but emotionally. I'm not there. And so know. I'm just going to get into a better head space. Sorry sorry america gonna let you down now. One of simone biles teammates is coming out and defending us for a while. There were some people said you know. Simone biles is really leading her team down. But then the teammate comes out and says quote. I've i've never been prouder to be a part of such an amazing team with an amazing group of girls. We stepped up when we needed to and did this four ourselves. We do not. Oh anyone gold medal. We are winners in our hearts. I'm glad this girl is a winner in her heart. I would prefer that she winner in reality because she does not owe anyone a gold medal. That's true but she does. Oh us the american people something. She owes us trying. She owes us competing. We had sort of some byles. We had a deal when when you go to the olympics you are representing the country. We the american people including me. I don't care about the olympics. I almost never watch it. But including me we all of the country we send you there to represent us and to go beat all the other countries and bring meddlesome to the united states. Hopefully gold medals. And i'm not saying that you know. I'm not i'm not saddam hussein. Where if you don't bring a gold medal home we're going to torture you or something. Not saying you owe us to win but you do owe us to try you did you. You might be doing this for yourselves but you should not be yes. It is about individual athletic. Excellence yes it's about. The team's athletic excellence but ultimately that is for a purpose which is the glory of your country. And so you doing in part for yourself but really you should be doing this for your country. We are winners. Our hearts that in a buck fifty. We'll get you a cup of coffee. And i don't even mean the beat up on this girl What what's her name. I don't even know her name. And i don't even mean to beat up on simone biles i really don't i mean to identify a very harmful delusion that we're all operating under namely that delusion is reality. I i mean to identify this. This radicals objectivism that. We're all living under that. There is no objective reality. there is no duty. It's just about mimi me in my own feelings in my own self identity and how And one day what is the get on tick i'm arrow. Loa sex. And it's all just about mimi. There there are more things than you. A man wrapped up in himself makes a small package. Indeed there is an objective. Reality the words that we use refer to reality. that's the only way we can communicate and have self government. there is a faculty of reason. There is a moral conscience you do have access to it. There is a transcendent moral order. There is good and bad and right and wrong turn. We can discern between those things if we can't sell government's not possible and increasingly that's the case speaking of young people playing games gavin. Newsom the beleaguered governor of california. Some call him new cellini some call him governor bateman. He loves huey lewis and the news. Gavin newsom just got in trouble. Because we're told now that everyone's got a mask up and all the kids especially have to mask up and gavin newsom. Cintas kids to a summer camp. Where they're not requiring the kids to wear masks because they're sensible and this just came out. The gavin newsom once again is playing by a different set of rules that he's forcing everyone else to play by reminds us of when gavin newsom force the businesses to close down in restaurants to shut down and everyone to wear masks and then they caught gavin newsom at the french laundry michelin rated restaurant shoulder to shoulder with his friends in a huge dinner. Party no one wearing masks because none of these people actually care about it. They just want you to care about it. None of these people who are enforcing the rules at facebook or the cdc or the governors governors office in california. None of them are particularly meticulous about these things. But it's about the imposition of the rules on you. So he got sent this kids to a camp where they don't play by the rules that he says everyone else needs to play by.

Ladies and gentlemen without further ado adam kim zinger. Thank you mr chairman and thinking my colleagues on the committee. Thank you to our witnesses. "Let's begin with nancy. Pelosi making what i think is a grave error. I think she always hear about. Donald trump destroyed the norms. Okay nancy pelosi as speaker is wiping out the all the customs traditions of the house of representatives and she must pay what she did is on this baloney january six commission. And i gotta tell you about january six guys. i keep hearing how. It's a giant riot and insurrection. Look i was in the los angeles riots. Fueled by maxine waters not democrat. I was on the streets for three weeks with third battalion. Hundred and sixtieth infantry. That's a riot what happened on capitol hill was a frat party. Okay no comparison all right and the only person killed on. Capitol hill was an unarmed trespasser veteran. Shot by a cop whose name we don't know. Dozens were murdered in los angeles. So you know. Save your drama for your mama. 'cause i'm not entertaining. It and nancy pelosi wants to have this kangaroo court commission so she appoints liz. Cheney nominal republican and now she's going to appoint adam kin zinger the r-enfield of the gop caucus but she's not allowing kevin mccarthy to put jim banks big friend a show and jim jordan on the committee. She doesn't approve. She is picking who the republicans can put on committees. This cannot stand. This is not happened before. Now they strip marjorie taylor green her seats and that was a bad precedent. But it's special. This was a merger we we had to do it. If kevin mccarthy doesn't retaliate. They've set a new standard. He he needs when he becomes majority leader. He needs to and in fact he needs to announce it now. I'm going to strip all you democrat committee chairs

Six committee makes debut this morning for the first time across dozens of high-profile trump related oversight hearings republican leadership in allies eleven. Oh voice on. The channel occurred these rather abrupt decision last week to pull his members from january. Sixth commission means that democrats and their to impact of gop members. Liz cheney madam kisner. we'll have free rein to set the narrative. This is why several folks on mccarthy's own leadership team thought. That pulling out was a bad idea. Here's how this narrative is shaping up uninformed police officers who put their lives on the line to defend congress on january six will testify about the horrors. They endured that day representative bennie thompson. The chair of the pay no previews their stories in a washington post op. Ed that you can see. In today's playbook their testimony alone is a public relations. Disaster for republicans. The gop likes to boast that they backed the blue and are the party of law and order but after pulling out from the select committee. Mccarthy effectively brushed aside please from law enforcement to authorize the investigation. Meanwhile mccarthy wants to focus attention on speaker. Nancy pelosi's unprecedented power. Move last week to block to republican lawmakers from the january. Sixth committee house. Gop leaders will have a press conference this morning before the hearing no doubt looking to try and frame the day's proceedings but as you're keeping track today ask yourself this question do you think mccarthy's complaints about pelosi will a piece trump when he turns on his tv today and sees no republicans defending him. You might be asking. The question of what's next for the probe kicking off with the nonpartisan cops is a politically savvy. Move for but there's already plenty of chatter about where they go from here. We've heard conflicting things from folks close to the committee about whether or not they'll subpoena people like then white house chief of staff mark meadows or congressional republicans that spoke with trump that day. But it's hard to imagine that this probe can be considered complete until they have. Here's what's up in washington today starting with the white house at ten fifteen. Am eastern president. House Riot Committee Provokes Partisan War
"Hill, The 1st January sixth commission hearing is Tuesday. This at the same time prosecutions are moving through the justice system. Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi and top House Republican Kevin McCarthy remain at odds over the panel. As NPR's Mara Liasson tells us, this is the state of play in Washington at the moment, I think That the January 6th investigations really illustrate the deep divide that we have in this country. Nothing illustrates a better actually, we have the worst attack on the capital since 18 12. And the decision about whether or not to investigate. It has become completely partisan. We have Republicans voting against the independent Commission and against this special Select committee, Kevin McCarthy, the Republican leader in the House, appointed to Republicans to that committee, both of whom disagreed with the committee's existence in the first place. NPR's Mara Liasson reporting.

"As part of the broader racial push the democratic party is making of course are now pushing their january six commission so this partisan commission pelosi announced yesterday. She got liz. Cheney to sign up for the commissions that you can have veneer of bipartisanship chain of course voted from schmidt of president trump. and he's been a longtime critic of trump. The problem with the january six commission of course is that a basic premise of january. sixth commission. Usually a congressional commission is about what congress can do or not. You're supposed to hold commissions on random crap. I understand that we do. Commissions random crap now guava steroids in baseball commission for no apparent reason but congress theoretically is supposed to hold commissions and investigations with regard to legislation or procedures. They can shore up instead. It appears that what this commission is designed to do. Pretty obviously is to keep january six forefront in people's minds and to went to broader supposed- republican ideologies of bigotry. Again if your entire political party is dependent on casting the opponent as bigoted. You're gonna use whatever you can find nor did do that. January six is what nancy pelosi wishes. You made that absolutely clear yesterday. Testimony from the department of homeland security about concerns that are out there all of these institutions talking about. Well i hate to even go there. But it's what they had said in terms of white supremacy anti semitism islamaphobia. All these attitudes that have a Have well contributed to what happened on january six. Yeah islam by the way. Anti-semitism is totally finds long as members of her own party. Propagating it and that's that's totally cool by the way according to nancy pelosi. So she's just make that clear. What generous commission commissioners pretty obviously designed to do again is a political maneuver. There's a reason why it is open ended. There is a reason why it is supposed to delve into the ideological causes of january. Sixth and try to link that to broader republican talking points liz. Cheney if she provides cover for that sort of report is doing a grave disservice of liz. Cheney is going in there because what she wants to do is is used the six commission to get to the bottom of false allegations about voter fraud and the impact. That has you know i again. I think that she's providing cover to democrats in. It's a mistake but at least you can understand it but at the report that comes out of that commission is all about how the republican party is rife with white supremacy anti semitism islamaphobia. And anyone who voted for trump obviously agrees with those things because then trump went on to say stupid things about the the in november and then a bunch of morons andrew decided to utilize those words and twist them in order to enter the capitol building. If that's that. Report ends up. Being in. Lithuania third provide cover. Then she's done a great disservice. Kevin mccarthy seems to sue him seems to think. This is exactly. What's going on here. is the house. minority leader. Believed that.

"Which was to create a curriculum of so-called patriotic education for american schools. One that we reject the idea systemic racism and us history. It will be called the seventeen seventy six commission and michael. This was pointedly response to the sixteen nineteen project that colleagues of ours at the new york times published in two thousand nineteen on four hundredth anniversary of the arrival of the first enslaved people to america right and that was an effort to re imagine. Sweep of american history through the lens of anti-black discrimination and it became overnight controversial with conservatives and so what is the result of these efforts that trump put forth to curtail critical race theory at the federal level. Almost nothing i mean. President biden's first day in office. He rescinded the executive order and he cancelled the seventy seventy six commission. But at that point the cat was out of the bag. Critical race theory critical race. Theory says every white person is a racist of being used as a way of reexamining pass. Critics will argue. It's being used. As a tool to accentuate a cultural divide the several states and localities moving to ban critical race theory from curriculums critical race theory hit escaped into the conservative media and fox news has aired in the last several months literally hundreds of segments critical of critical race theory. It's been picked up by republicans in state legislatures around the country who've introduced bills to limit or ban critical race theories influenced primarily in schools and. Interestingly a lot of the language in those bills echoes the language that was in donald. Trump's original executive.

This thursday as we begin the exciting month of of july. Let me lay down a premise. And then we're going to start take some calls. You've got a bunch of calls on a variety of issues. It's a big busy multi-storey day where sitting there trying to process. The release of bill cosby When prosecutors screw up as obviously happened here guilty people go free. That happened now. Let's go to the trump organization. Cfo alan wisenberg. He might be guilty to of not paying taxes on some things. But what in. The world is fa- manhattan. Da doing going after that. That's what's called selective prosecution. It is punitive it is predatory and speaking of predatory things that takes us to this january sixth select committee at first we were going to have the january sixth commission and this was something that required congressional approval to establish and when that failed thank god it then became something the democrats could do themselves set up their rules invite some republicans if they wished and then that puts the ball in our court what should republicans do. When offered the opportunity to be a part of this predatory piece of political theater. The house voted yesterday to create a new select committee that will investigate the january sixth attack. The vote was two hundred twenty two to one hundred ninety just to republicans joined with the democrats to support its formation. Guess who they were. Liz cheney of course who will now apparently be named to this joke of a commission and miscreants illinois congressman adam kinser. That's it now. A little january six one. Oh one because a lot of people have very very different takes on this and like so many things in life today. There's sort of a tribalism that it's gotta be all this way. It's gotta be all that way. There are a lot of people who want to say that january six was Was just no great big deal like just another capital tour. Just a bunch of people walking around taking selfies. No it was very bad what these people did. And the thing. That i'm most angry about quite frankly is that. It destroyed the prospect of a very useful day in american history. Thousands of people went down to the capital to make clear their dissatisfaction with an election. Whose result was unreliable and as unreliable as it was shelved as election procedures. Were in so many states in his damages. The constitution was by that process. There are people who said you know what in view of these unique circumstances. Maybe we should not accept these electoral votes as blithely and cheerfully as if the election were clean and pristine that was their point. It was a good point to make thousands of people. Making that point would have been a beautiful thing. Did it stand a chance of actually subverting. The electoral tally. No was trump. Somehow gonna win that day no but it was thousands of people saying this is not right. This was not satisfactory and with a little parenthetical message. We will not let this happen again. And these eight hundred yahoos are over many there were who decided to ramp it up and crank it up to eleven. Thanks a lot guys. You took that day of history away from us and now look now. Look what it is in the hands of a of a predatory jackal media culture. Now it's nine. Eleven and pearl harbor rolled into one which is unbelievably stupid. It no such thing so in that nuance whatever you wanna call. It was the worst attack on our democracy since the civil war shut up of course not was it just a a bunch of misguided folks walking around the halls of the capitol that innocent no it was not so in that in that gap what should republicans do about this select committee. My answer is ignore it every day. Ignore it every day. Here's my question for you. The optics of that are tricky because in an inattentive country there are people who will say those republicans won't even be a part of looking into january six. Would they got to hide. That will happen and there might be some say well then maybe we need to show up and maybe turn it into something you know maybe ask some questions about what pelosi knew and why the capital was left so vulnerable which by the way both good questions but not within this devils framework not within this absurd charade of political theater now. No let chips all where they may. It is always the right thing to do the right thing and the right thing. Here's for republicans for no self respecting republican to come within a mile of this ridiculous january. Sixth select committee now. There are those who will say who what you covering up. What do you got to hire. Please the wheels of justice should turn. Everybody who who.

"Hello check that all right well As we all know the republican party pretends to care so much about police officers because of how risky their jobs are but would it comes to capitol hill police officers who had to deal with those riders not so much it fact Republican representative andrew. Clyde of georgia refused to shake the hand of a capital police officer by the name of michael fanon When he had approached the lawmaker to have a discussion about the importance of a january six commission to investigate what happened on that day in fact. Why don't we go to phenomenon to explain how this whole interaction went down. I greeted congressman. Claude i was very cordial extended my hand to shake his hand. He just stared at me. I asked him if he was gonna shake my hand and he told me that he didn't know who i was so i introduce myself. I said that it was michael cohen. That i was a dc metropolitan police officer who fought on january six to defend the capital and as a result i suffered a traumatic brain injury as well as a heart attack after having been as numerous times at the base of my skull as well as being severely beaten at that point. The congressman turned away from me pulled out his cell phone. It looks like he was attempting to pull up like an audio recording app on his phone and again like never acknowledged me at any point as soon as the elevator doors open. He ran as quickly as he could like a coward. A coward now. Of course andrew. Clyde is one of the gop lawmakers who is against a january six commission to investigate what happened in the capital that day. And if you know anything about representative clyde you'd know why he tried to downplay what happened that day recently. If you can remember he just referred to it as something totally harmless.

"It's just a hard comparison that make their but Congress is being the biggest hypocrite of all by denying any investigation or even caring about the riots that have happened. Day after day and night after night, all over the country. The Yes he could be a little domestic terrorist riot that this country has endured that caused billions of dollars of damage caused loss of life has caught police officers to be attacked and two saying terrible injuries, attacks on federal monuments, federal buildings Private businesses and still continues to this day. They were rioting yesterday as a matter of fact that the mainstream media doesn't care about that. They'd rather talk about mpg and, you know, make up things that I've said But now the January six commission is the Democrats way of trying to throw something out there that the media could use that it would be. Which point which two point Oh, nonstop in the news on. That's what we would hear about that. They don't care about the American people who have had to endure these awful riots all year long. We're making sure that these policies are front and center. We're fighting back against the Democrats that the woke media mob and the rhinos that are trying to take over the Republican Party right now, like Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, you know the big anti Trumpers and anti America first policies. And so we're taking this on the road and bringing hope back to everyone. We've got to build a big movement. To go after her because really freshman congresswoman, although she raises a ton of money doesn't have that much power in the scheme of things, especially when you're in Not on any committees, but they're afraid of her. And as a matter of fact, Van Taylor was requested The interview was a question on this show, so we'll get to that here in a minute. Something that's change actually related. There's a piece in red State by somebody that even Bonci B O N. C. H E. The title is the devastating effects of Liz Cheney's ouster on the GOP Continue. Air quotes, devastating With Liz Cheney booted from the congressional leadership. She faded a bit from the spotlight, though I'm sure she'll make the rounds again this Sunday, after all, backslapping with Chuck Todd is now her thing. Regardless after the vote to remove her as chair of the House Republican caucus went down. The doomsday predictions flowed. What were those doomsday predictions? Well, People in the basket of bias, press said. Things like this Republicans overthrow of Cheney risks worsening there headaches And the GOP hands Democrats the formula to keep the House majority. Just some examples of Some of these never trump. Slash basket of bias press headlines because The press adores. Liz Cheney because she stabs conservatives in the back, and she's a never Trumper. Well rights Bonci. I regret to inform you the devastating effects of Liz Cheney's ouster from the GOP continue apace. The mayoral race in Anchorage, Alaska, is over, and Republicans have flipped the office from Blue to red. Yes, Even in Alaska, the major urban centers leans Democrat socialist, Remember We're assured that there would be down ballot consequences for the GOP, embracing Trump and ousting Cheney. Cheney when of those consequences show up again. Because they didn't show up last week in Pennsylvania, either where Republicans over performed With a high turnout election of two million ballots. Publicans outperformed 9% in Pennsylvania, the 22nd district and 3% in Pennsylvania's 48th. So and by the way in that election, they voted to remove the powers and authorities from their totalitarian governor, Governor Wolf This is weird, right? You think Cheney being sidelined would have enraged all of those Republican voters. I was told care so much about intraparty fighting. And, of course, the January 6th. Riot. Guess the talking heads with it again. Who could have possibly seen that coming? Heck, we can even go back several weeks ago when Cheney was reaching the pinnacle of her battle with her own party. Republicans swept Texas House District six. That's Ron writes seat, folks. Trump plus three district in 2020, locking out the Democrats, Socialists and saying to GOP candidates in the runoff on one of those candidates have come on recently in the Crystal Saito show. "For a cease fire House Democrats move the January six commission on to the Senate. CDC chief says We are out of the woods yet, and Kamila has an enemies list of reporters who don't understand her. Shoulder to shoulder to come together, you'll time protest America is the Buck Sexton show Buck Sexton joins us Now We're CIA analyst former NYPD intelligence officers. Now, Buck Sexton. Nobody really thinks that Benjamin Daniel, who is going to do what Joe Biden says right? We all understand that I know that there's a close relationship between Israel and the U. S. And that they are Strong ally in the Middle East on so many issues, but It's as I've been saying all along when someone threatens you with lethal force you your family, your people with lethal force. You do what you have to do. You stop that threat. Everything else just starts to sound like noise. Everything outside of that. He's a secondary consideration at best, and I do want there to be a cease fire, and I understand that desire. But I also know that it will come when the Israelis no longer have concerns about an imminent Threat from Hamas rockets and Hamas terrorist acts. That's just the way this is going to play out. So we have to keep focused on that. But the thing for me that's that's pretty fascinating to watch it. Play out is how the left in this country. Manages to show us So many of the the philosophical dysfunctions that they bring To domestic political issues You see in the context of Israel and the Palestinians, so many of the misconceptions the moral relativism. The obsession with victimology the view of everything through a racial and ethnic lens. So much of that is apparent. And in that way, I think that this could be instructive for all of us, because you see that the left approaches everything. Foreign policy, domestic policy, economic issues, national security issues. Applying these same Intellectually bankrupt, morally rotten approaches. They use relativism. Victimology Marxism critical race theory, which is really just a cousin and an offshoot on the Family tree of Marxism. But they apply those frameworks to it, and that's how they end up. With absurd things. That's how they end up saying very, very stupid things. And not it seems as though they're not able to figure out the most basic concepts of foreign policy. Who are your friends? Who your enemies? Do They know the difference doesn't matter. That's just start with that approach whenever talking, and by the way, that's just a good framework for for pretty much life. But it certainly works on the world stage where your friends who are enemies. Do they know the difference doesn't matter. Does it matter? And it seems that there are a lot of people in this country who have a strange affinity. For Hamas. A terrorist death cult. That will execute people for any number of crimes real or imagined. That will kill people who oppose the regime with impunity that will that will kill homosexuals that will kill people for Ah, whole range of not actual crimes. But Hamas is a terrorist organization that will determine That there must be an extreme punishment. Will throw people off of buildings. It's a Mafia state, with some jihadist flavor thrown in. That's what's really the essence. Of Hamas, an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood. In its origins. This should be quite clear. Any of you who have been to the Israel is I have? No, it's a Rule of law, well functioning state where people just want to live their lives in peace. And want to pursue their own dreams and have their own freedoms. You know, you have Palestinian members of the Knesset. You have Palestinians who have seen your posts in government. And very support. The Israeli efforts to stop the rocket fire from coming down all over Israel. They They agree with him. I mean, I'll tell you this right now, for all my criticism of the bidet administration. If China invaded tomorrow I'd be talking about how I want to be shoulder to shoulder with good old Uncle Joe and all the crazy lives repelling that invasion. You know there are some things that really do bring people together. And when you're living in a small country, it's like the size of New Jersey and you are getting hit with rockets all over the place. It is very understandable. In those circumstances, very understandable that you're going to rally behind leadership and want your national government wants your armed forces. Do everything they can to keep you safe. And he had The idiots of the American left. See a moral equivalency here in some ways, or they can't seem to to compute all of this. They don't seem to understand. Well, why is it That the Israelis End up killing Maura Palestinians. Then then Hamas ends up killing Israelis. Well, because they're in this for very different reasons trying to achieve very different ends. Hamas also started it. Which is another very important factor. Keep in mind as we go through all this, but for me more than anything else is this illuminate some of the core dysfunctions of left wing thinking that shows you why not only do they get it wrong on Israel, Palestine, they get it wrong on so many things in so many areas. There is a deficiency in their approach. Here's Chris Hayes of MSNBC, who it seems to be increasingly radical Leftist over the years used to just be a kind of You know? Shrill beta male. But now he actually seems to want to pose as the revolutionary of sorts. But anyway, here is and by the way before I play the audio here, I wanna be clear. I don't want anyone dying in Israel or in Gaza. I wish there was no violence, and I certainly don't want innocent civilians to be killed. But Hamas forces a situation where that will happen. And in fact, and.

"He also used the word murder and called it anti police. Fellow Americans beat and bloodied Our own police. Storm the Senate floor. Tried to hunt down Speaker of the House. Built a gallows and chanted about Murdering Vice president. So maybe Mitch McConnell doesn't need a January six commission because he already knows what happened. He also seems to know why those terrorists did what they did. I did this Because they had been fed. Wild. Also it The most powerful man on earth. He was angry, lost an election. Because he was angry. He lost an election. Most powerful man on Earth. Most powerful man on earth. You mean the president of the United States was responsible for this? There's no question none. President Trump is practically And morally responsible. For provoking the event. Of the day. No question about it. People who stormed this building believed they were acting on the wishes. And instructions. Their president. Anti police terrorism at the instructions of their president. And what And having that believe Was a foreseeable consequence. The growing crescendo. False statements. Conspiracy theories. And reckless hyperbole. Which the defeated president kept shouting into the largest megaphone. Own planet. Hurt. You're kidding me, Mitch, right. False conspiracy theories from the president himself to overturn democratic election. Wow. So the issue is the incitement to insurrection. That he gave in that speech on January 6th. The issue is not only the president's intemperate language On January six. It is not just his endorsement of remarks. In which an associate urged quote Trial by combat. It was also the entire manufactured atmosphere of looming catastrophe. The increasingly wild, Ms. Myth. About a reverse landslide election. It was somehow being stolen. From secret coup. Are now president. Holy moly, Mitch. That's some story. So many Mitch McConnell doesn't need an investigation into the causes and of the events of January 6th because he already knows the answers, he said. Them all. They're back on February 13th. Well, case closed. I guess with me now, anyway, is Brooklyn and Queens Congressman Hakeem Jeffries, a member of the House Judiciary Committee and chair of the House Democratic Caucus. Always good to have you on Congressman Welcome back to W N. Y C. One of Ryan. Great to be with you. Who needs a commission to study January 6th when Mitch McConnell already said, what happened and why, and I can't really get any worse than that. Mitch McConnell has certainly laid things out in a clear, compelling, comprehensive and concise fashion in terms of what Occurred on January six. But we do think that, as has been the case in the past, whenever you have a Dramatic attack on the United States in the aftermath of Pearl Harbor, and that attack on December 7th. 1941 America had a bipartisan commission in the aftermath of the terrorist strikes on September 11th. America had a bipartisan commission in the aftermath of the January six violent insurrection and attack on the Capitol. America should also have Bipartisan commission to determine what happened. McConnell laid that out. Why it happened. Connell also laid that out. But perhaps most importantly, how do we prevent a violent insurrection? The type of radicalization that we've seen the the big lie being perpetrated? How do we prevent those things from ever happening again? That in many ways was critically important piece? Of the efforts to look at Pearl Harbor. On that successful attack against us and the efforts to look at what happened connected to September 11th. Well, maybe it's hard to put together a bipartisan commission when this attack on like those from history was explicitly partisan. But in all seriousness, McConnell says, the commission I was, obviously, you know. Doing a little theater there with those McConnell clips. But, he says in all seriousness, the commission would be duplicative because there are already criminal investigations being conducted by the FBI. Which there are people are being arrested and charged which they are in Congress is already investigating to show Would this be duplicative of the investigations already taking place and maybe even get in law enforcement's way? Well, not at all. Everybody has their particular lane. Law enforcement has Elaine Homeland Security sort of has a lane as it relates to the domestic terrorism aspect of this to Capitol police. You know, will have its particular lane in terms of securing the Capitol grounds. And how do you stop this type of breach from happening again? But the January 6th commission would be all encompassing and it would look at everything. Really just get at the truth of what occurred the whole truth. Nothing but the truth, of course, but to be prescriptive in terms of how we move forward. It was a physical attack on the capital. They were there. Of course to stop us from undertaking are Constitutional responsibilities. They wanted to assassinate the speaker. Hang my pants hunting down members of Congress. That's egregious, and we have to figure out how to deal with that physical attack and the breach that occurred on that day. But it was Mauritz was an attack on the constitution. It was an attack on the principle of the peaceful transfer of power. In an effort really, to strip away democracy. Um, in an extraordinary way, It seems to me that's not the job of the FBI or the Department of Justice. Figure out what's happening within the fabric of our society. That you can have, Of course. Um, a president like Donald Trump elected and then on his way out of the door. Really try to take down democracy with him, and that is why I think doing it in a bipartisan way. Not through the form, for instance of a congressional investigation so that it has the same type of credibility that commissions have had in the past. Is important because this gets to the heart and soul of who we are. As America. Now we should tell our listeners who haven't followed the tic tac of this over the last 24 hours. That's the bill to create the commission that you in the house passed last night and now is doubtful in the Senate because, McConnell says We'll block it. The bill to create the commission was written by a bipartisan group. It's not just Democrats calling for bipartisanship because we'll make the Republicans look bad. It was written by a bipartisan group and I want to play a clip. Of one House Republican, one of the new one of your New York colleagues. In fact, who led the writing of the Bill John Cat go from the Syracuse area who's also I believe the top Republican on the Homeland Security Committee. So extremely relevant and he sees the bill not as being anti Republican, but is being pro cop. Want these officers, their families to know that we're doing it, not for us. Not for politics. You're doing it for them. So that's pretty interesting dilemma the Republicans have. They're always saying how pro law enforcement they are, but they also don't want to label their anti cop supporters is being anti comp sympathy for that conundrum. They have I'll take this an astute observation, Brian and I think they're phony..
Trump downplays legacy of slavery and embraces white supremacy
"Donald Trump intensified efforts to appeal to his core base of white voters on Thursday by downplaying the historical legacy of slavery in the United States and blasting efforts to address his stomach racism as divisive. The president's comments marking the two hundred and thirty third anniversary of the signing of the constitution amounted to a defense of white culture and denunciation of Democrats the media and others who he accused of trying to indoctrinate school children and shame their parents whiteness. He also argued that America's founding set in motion the unstoppable chain of events that abolished Slavery Secured Civil Rights defeated Communism and fascism and builds the most fair equal and prosperous nation in human history. But he did not mention the two, hundred, forty, six years of slavery. In America including the eight thousand nine years it was allowed to continue after the colonies declared independence from England nor did the president acknowledged the ongoing fight against racial injustice and police brutality which has prompted months of protests. This year trump has long fanned the nation's culture wars including defending the display of the confederate battle flag and monuments of civil war rebels from protest is seeking their removal. He speech on Thursday suggested his rhetoric could become even more nationalistic. In the final weeks before the election given that he's off to a second term relies largely on energizing culturally conservative white voters trump already cracked down on anti racism training sessions in federal agencies he said on Thursday, he will soon sign an order to establish a commission to promote patriotic education dubbed the seventeen seventy, six commission. The panel he said we'll be tossed with encouraging educators to teach students about the miracle of American history and plan for the Commemoration of the two hundred fiftieth anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of independence. The move is a response to the New, York Times Sixteen nineteen projects, which highlights the long term consequences of slavery and the contributions of Black Americans Nicole? Hannah. Jones won a Pulitzer Prize for a piece in the magazine in response to trump's remarks Hannah Jones said the First Amendment to the constitution opposed government attempts to censor speech and guarantees free press the efforts by the president of the United States to use his palace to censor. Of American journalism by dictating what schools can and cannot teach what American children should and should not learn should be deeply alarming to all Americans who value free speech she said.
