Danielle Harris: What if You Knew Your Death Day?
"Who exactly is danielle harris. Wow that's a loaded question It depends on the day. i guess I'm a mother. First and foremost am an actress. I am a wife. I am a little bit of everything i always say. I don't know about one thing in its entirety. But i know a little bit about everything or at least i like to think so. I'm curious i am gosh. I am figuring out as i go with. That was the perfect answer danielle. And but you give me so many questions. I want to ask as a follow up there. Okay so when you say you know a little bit about everything you can delve into things. Where does that motivation come from. Why is that important to you. You know i. I don't have a lot of fear when it comes to trying new things depending on what it is. Of course i think of my whole childhood was sort of controlled and regulated. So as i got older and a much quicker to be like i wanna go get an rv and go camping. I've never been before but let's go do it. I wanna travel there. I wanna hop on a plane and go to. I wanna just a bit more freedom Because i didn't have that growing up. So i can't i can't believe it. I was raised by wolves. Like who i am today. Verse and what. I liked to do and things that are interesting to me are are not something that i was brought up with. I mean they need to be able to experience and explore and see new things. And i can't imagine living life without having those things available
Inside Euro 2020: Soccer's Month of Drama, Passion, and Geopolitical Tension
"Sam board is a global sports correspondent for espn and also one of my first friends to travel out of the country since the pandemic i am in rome. Italy getting ready for the first match of the european soccer championships. Friday night at the study olympico. Italy against turkey. And it's going to kick off. What should be a pretty exciting four weeks a soccer. Yeah i wanna frame this up for the people because this is particularly magical thing. We're doing right now sam. Because we're kind of ripping a hole in the space time continuum because not only. Are you in a different time zone at only. Are you in rome. You're covering a tournament that is technically the twenty twenty euros because this whole thing got spohn because of the pandemic and i just wanted to. Have you explain what the euros are. Exactly why they're such a big deal. What is inside of this time machine that we're operating with. It's a great point pablo because literally as soon as you land in europe. The site edge is still all twenty twenty. I mean they're calling the tournament the twenty twenty euros everywhere. You go the t shirts. The stadium signed edge. Everything is from last year. I guess you know. Obviously this is a billion dollar enterprise tournament but they didn't have enough in the budget for you know renewed seionage. The european championships are a tremendous event is sort of like the world cup in that its national teams as opposed to club teams like barcelona or manchester united. We've got national teams like germany. Spain france they play this every four years in between the world cup's this year. It's twenty four national teams competing against each other six groups of four and sixteen teams advance. Auto groups we go from there to single elimination bracket all the way until we get a champion

The terrorists demanded that their pacific island home formerly dutch colony and under indonesian rule be given independence while the marines began boarding the train. Five jet airplanes dropped smoke bombs from above a journalist with the associated. Press was reporting from about three quarters of a mile away from where the train was located. He described what he experienced. The ground is trembling. They're firing a lot of firing. Everybody reporters photographers police. One of the hostages ought to j. tweaked woke up two gunshots and tried to take cover tweaked described the ensuing chaos to the new york times. We heard machine guns then. A horrible noise. I thought they were burning their way into the train. With acetylene torches or flame throwers later. We realized that they were planes. Flying over at the same time. The Case for Inflation
"For today's show. In addition. We spoke to two economists. They talked about their fears of inflation in the long term in the medium-term and right now and we will start with right now. Komo srikumar runs a macro economic consultancy. Three kumar global strategies. And when we spoke to him he had just got home from vacation road trip from new york to california. Restaurants are packed. Even middle of restaurants are all back to a big surge in demand for everything you could not have in the last year. Did he find it hard to book a hotel on a road trip. Yup yup hard to book up. The prices have doubled or tripled the room that you would have two months ago. Double or triple for a hotel room during. I hope you've booked your summer vacation accommodations yourself. I have not anyway. Apparently that is the situation right now. And the number. Seeing the consumer price index the index that tracks prices across the country and inflation. Does back that up. We as a country are undergoing a post vaccine price bump at least in the short term. But where this gets. More controversial is the medium-term with high inflation will persist and criticizing free childcare and free community college and all that stuff wrapped into biden six trillion dollar budget plan. It's not necessarily when you friends not popular views. That is correct. Would you like us to put you under witness protection to do we give you a pseudonym. I hope you don't have to do that. But let me say this. You cannot popular at all times. You have to say a number of things which are unpopular connel's popular argument is this. He says look at history. Look at what happened. In the nineteen seventies we have not seen both government spending and a central bank so willing to stimulate the economy by so much since the seventies like that six trillion dollar budget by president biden and the fed also saying it will keep interest rates really low for a long
"sixth" Discussed on Bald Movies
"One more thing i want to talk about. And it's the end of this movie. That twist where you find this bruce willis has been dead the whole time. I remembered that being a lot more concrete of a statement without all the flashbacks. Because you almost don't have to go back and watch this movie a second time to see if it all hangs together because they show you know it all hangs together like here's a flash. As a matter of fact like here is not just. one flashback. Eight of them your flew through. Yeah yeah we're going to put all the screener for you at the end. I thought i remembered it be more concrete than she's cradling a ring the rules out from under a couch and that's the mind-blowing moment but i vividly remember the feeling of having my mind blown when i watched. That's the thing is that moment. Holds up like you need like thirty. Thirty seconds of flashbacks. It'd be like what what. Oh god oh like yeah like. It's kind of a massive flax. The movies just like look at all the things that you missed in in context and it's like not even a refill straight up as clips of her. Linda bill and him wrestling with the yeah. I wondered when it was coming. Whether that would feel a little indulgent. Because they i forgot it they really lay it on thick like they have haley. Joel coming in there. I see dead people. They don't even know they're dead. They just see what they want to see. But i don't know it still worked. It didn't feel indulgent. Because it's such a great moment in the build up is so well done that you're like yeah movie take a victory lap take take thirty take sixty seconds of you need it baskin the you know. I like how they mix. The flashback scene with new footage rights. So we get more story. We see the oh would no. There's actually a table in front of the door. Oh he actually died after this gun shot. There's the whole and he's it's like why isn't it bleeding because he's he fell on his back massively bleeding on his back right and and i think the other reason it works is because bruce willis to character is figuring out that he's dead at the exact same so you're also on his he's reeling like oh my god i'm dead. Oh my god my all. My wife doesn't love me anymore. She's trying desperately not to or something like that. Like all that stuff like yeah. It's not just a movie. Ha ha how clever we are. It's also hey. Give bruce a little chance of process. This shit too. Yeah it is really works really well. It does is all we got. That's it. I do want encourage people if you if you like our discussion here. "For murdering several women Let's read the movie on her Nipple scale. I truly have no zero two to five. Nepal's based on its representation of women. I mean it's quite neutral. It's not this movie doesn't hate women. It's not a brutal and cruel to women a lot of movies especially from that year where I mean between club movies that like m night. Shyamalan works on. She's that cruel intentions comes out this year. The mummy never been kissed a lot of like really regressive movies at treat women horribly. This doesn't do that. Oh feminist text. No I'm kidding I mean I think it just sort of makes the the choices made at some point. I don't know to write female characters so I would go. Which is not the solution to that problem. It is better than saying I'm going to write female characters to complete stereotypes and to like only service the male characters. I want her. And there's no narrative reason whatsoever. Why the child who sees dead people couldn't be a little girl. There's no reason why the child psychologist couldn't have been a woman like it's just yeah. The movies were well these female characters. No one will see it right and there is. I mean there's some I think it is nice that I don't know who like Boston. This trope benefits but the idea of like the quote Unquote Evil Child. Who is like communicated with by the other world is usually made out to be fully villain of the movie. Where you've got like the bad seed you've got Damian from the omen and usually if a kid can communicate with the other side they are the devil but in this case they're the sweetest baby angel. Whoever right it's progressive children who can speak to ghosts so you know and again. Because he's hoping women talk to other women he's advocating for Michel Barton goes I it's like a one and a half. Yeah you know. 'cause you're just like women are they're they're they're not that important to the story but they're you know the male characters aren't cruel to them. They're they're they're costs playing. Sure Scooby Doo Scooby. Doo cost sure. They're only like wives. Mothers daughters very stereotypical female roles. Yes but one and a half One and a half and I'm going to give one to Toni. Collette and the Noggin to give the last two. It doesn't feel right to tail. Joel Osmond's too young to give him a nipple initiative. So I'll give it to mommy murderer Osha. Mrs Bleach Soup Flavor characters in life. I'll give my one and a half Nepal's to his wife because she deserved better. We should have learned more about her. The only thing we know is that she is sad zoloft. I guess which is horrified. Psychologists remember to talk to your loved ones while they sleep. That will solve all your problems. Horrifying thank you so much for coming. Give it up for all right folks. That was our episode on the Sixth Sense. We did want to add in really quickly that the evening after this we did watch sex. Ed Onto Has Not an endorsement of two because the movie is wildly offensive and also just boring and hard to watch. Yeah it is so when we recommended you watch it during the live show. We were joking. We're yeah we didn't even realize we shouldn't have even recommended it as a joke. It's wildly problematic. And we're so we are withdrawing we take back condition but you know as you heard it killed in the room so true to So cubeys cancelled moving on. I think you'd everyone who C- who came to the show. Its share on the matriarch this month redoing the witches of eastwick and moonstruck. Of course we did not know before we chose that topic that shares voting for Biden. So we just to cover our own ass. It was too late but so my one last thing is that during the live show toward the end when people were making audience. Where like you know asking questions and making comments and stuff Someone asked a question about whether or not the lego movie passes about this whole discussion on well does unit. Kitty does she count as a woman and I totally forgot to mention that unity whether or not identified as a human woman she definitely does have eight nipples and ask Catholics with Caitlin thank you. This is we're recording this a month and a half later. I like editing. The episode and wanting the whole thing is like sounds like I'm gearing up to be like well I have the answer to this and that university has eight nipples and then I just like didn't remember my own bit love to see I'm doing it now. I like it. You may get on it. Thank you so with that. Have a great week. Yeah Day Save Bye bye..

"What a wild year for him like I. He hasn't had a year like that's I mean he doesn't have to punch up stuart little anymore but that was a fun movie. I never saw it like it. That was that was the year where he was like. Crossing over between being like a punch-up writer and then like this twisty Oh tour but stuart little slap says good. Gena Davis is in it really goodness I do. They might Sean Lines. Basically his whole ethos is summarized in one line of dialogue. In this movie. Where Bruce Willis is like telling Cole a bedtime story about a prince who was driving a lot and then Haley. Jasmine is like you've never told a story before have you. You have to add some twists and also. I'm only does the key. He only shot sometimes like m night shyamalan. I Love Him. And then sometimes you're like your confidence is really for like it's it's difficult because what. He does a lot of directors do this. But he specifically said like I'm basically this generation Alfred Hitchcock and Alfred. Hitchcock would play a small role in all of his movies. So movie one MNISI ones like I got to be in this because otherwise I will people know him. Alfred Hitchcock now so he plays a small role cameo voice right all of that all of them. Yeah I think that that's what Alfred Hitchcock that he'd be in a few seconds every movie and I particularly love like even in some of his worst movies. The cameras always so fun. He's always like all park ranger being being like no go into those woods. See what it's like. He's always like introducing them into danger. It's fun he should act more. He doesn't like about actor There is a chucky cheese reference in this baby visibility important but it's also. Toni Collette needs to explain. I don't was that supposed to be some sort of class thing like they're like Toni. Collette Inhaler Joel. Osmond at this fancy Nice Birthday Party and the mother at the Fancy Birthday Party. Doesn't know what chucky cheeses only embarrassed. And she's like well it's it's the greatest place on her record. She goes chucky. Who is a every time man? It is the best place on earth. Okay you know. I've been many times with you. I know for my birthday is of course story. Yes so they've mentioned chucky cheese and cats and they can't take that away so I think that's about it. We're running out of time. Do we have any time for questions or comments? Time for a few questions. Even come up to the Mike can up to the money because one person one brave soul. Oh come on up. We love your sweater. What's your name? What's your question my sex.

"That's really all you need to know to want to watch it. But he plays a sex. Ed teacher named Ed. He's trying to. He's having a bit of the dry spell but he's talking about sex all day so he's Horny right a place. As best friends lashed she shows up every few scenes to give exposition and then she disappears anyways at the end Haley. Jalazone it has sex. Wow spoiler sorry what is it like? At the end. He was dead the whole time. You gotTa Watch sexy. It's on to here's something that's sort of relevant to what we normally discuss So there's there's a component in this movie and it's recurring in a lot of horror thriller movies but Something's happening someone and no one believes him at first and groups of people who are often not believe so. I see where this is going to children like we see. In the sense women ever heard of him Seniors you know basically any marginalized group and there's a line of dialogue. Where Cole says like please believe me. You believe me right. How will you help me if you don't believe me and that's just you know? Poignant that's good. Yeah it does make it clear that like an and that's also what is preventing coal from having any sort of resolution with his mother is that he's so afraid that she won't believe him and that if he tells the truth that she will disown him or love him less or whatever. The internal logic is that yeah tribal and accidentally made a point where he says. No one knows my secret. I can't even tell my mom because I don't want my mom to look at me way. Everyone else does like I'm a freak. So like right. It's very Let's talk about Um nighttime point for a second. Okay because I mean for he gets a LOT OF SHIT FROM PEOPLE. He has made more good movies than you think. Okay but in all seriousness shoveling. I think when I was very young he was one of the first non-white Directors. I was aware of that was wildly successful period. I mean I think like when I was a kid I knew of Spike Lee. But I wasn't old enough to see movies and then they're like an and then I could watch travel in movies so he did like. I mean he did make I mean. This movie was wildly successful. He basically got a blank check for the rest of his career for better or worse After making this movie and so I think that that is worth acknowledging and that is like a very impactful thing because you know directors are still overwhelmingly male but also overwhelmingly white of any gender. So the fact that you know. This is a director who He he grew up in Philly but he's the son of immigrants and like that is a really powerful cool thing and so I just wishes movies. Were better so you know. There's a but but I like yeah. I think he was truly one of the first non-white directors I knew of and was very you know in the Zeitgeist if you will But also he ruined Avatar. So I don't know Oh some people disagree. Okay but yeah I I also wanted to mention m night. Shyamalan nine thousand nine hundred nine. Which was a wild year so this was like the six cents was his big breakout movie. He wrote and directed it but prior to that he was like a Hollywood writer. He would do a lot of like third or fourth drafts of movies that were basically done and then they're like we gotta give it the touch so his film credits in one thousand nine. In addition to the sixth sense are he did punch up on. She's all that and he wrote and is credited as the sole writer of Stuart Little..

"That's the last week. Does she get arrested? Like do we get any explanation like we get nothing and I saw this movie. I'm like wow. She seems like a real bitch. But that's clearly. There's so much going on there. I don't think it's such a complicated issue for Amnesia shoes to be like. Let me present very complex mental illness in one scene with characters. You don't know I think there's a lot that gets like seeds get planted in the first movie. That call for a sequel. I think there should be a sequel to the sixth sense. I think it should be called the seventh. And you've been that doesn't make sense again like what I wanNA know. What happens with like now that like he has a friendly relationship with ghosts now. Like s at the end. We're supposed to believe so like what does that look. You have to be careful though because they will make that movie. Oh we don't actually want it if anyone is listening that's like maybe we should know we don't want you know because they just did that with the shining there. Were like what the people are wondering. You're like no one is wondering. Oh you mean with Dan like knowing gives a fuck. What happened at Danny so sorry? Hey let's talk about Haley Joel. Osmond he's had a lot of great roles Kale okay. Maybe you've seen him most recently in that Zach Ephron Ted Bundy movie anyone see that he's he's he's he's fine in that he his whole role in that as he goes up to Ted Bundy his ex girlfriend news. Like I wish you could get over Ted Bundy. That says he's crying. He's like I just Ted. Bundy is cock blocking me at every turn. So he's not given much but he does a good job. My favorite post six cents Haley. Joel Osborn role. Is the movie sex. Ed has anyone on the planet besides seen sex. Ed Okay so sex. Ed is a movie that is currently streaming for freon something called to anyone anywhere. My Tube I was like what the fuck is to be and I downloaded it to watch said sex. "Wow that's so brave and progressive and that's like you know it doesn't have to be good right egg it has to be writing and so that's what we're doing here and so after people have been begging. Us Jamie Caitlyn do. A feminist analysis of the sixth sense is our top request. Everyone wants to know but really I mean really the Ben. I'm just thrilled that we get to talk about Haley. Joel Osmond my my lifelong crush. This episode will not pass it all. Because we're talking about when you talk about healy jaws past the fact we checked same applies to Alfred Molina. Of course if I have a crush on them it passes. The vital is Canon Caitlyn. What is your history with the cinematic masterpiece? The six cents. I saw the movie in theaters in one thousand nine hundred ninety nine in do boys Pennsylvania and anyone familiar. I was twelve or thirteen Didn't really know anything about it. Except that it was like you know the hot movie of the moment It was very spooky and because I was the age that I was. I thought it was great for twelve year olds. This movie is like the most hardcore shit. A twelve year old has ever seen. I think that Kinda applies to like an entire filmography. Like if you're twelve you're like this shit is unbelievable but then when you are you know thirteen you're like Oh what is happening and I don't think I had seen it again since but because it's such like it's such a huge part. It's infiltrated pop. Culture everyone knows the twist ending. Everyone knows the famous line about seeing dead people. Not Women Not Feminist. I think it's a gender neutral term in. It's and it's all encompassing Haley. Joel Osmond is high con. Probably insisted on that line was like okay. You're going to say I see dead. Hetero men Haley. Judaism is like no. I have an idea. I know I have eight years old but let's be inclusive you know. I hope so. I'm going to be cutting them all kinds of slack. What is your history with the movie? Not Much I was too. I wasn't allowed to see this movie when it came out because I think it was like six or seven when it came out and so I didn't get to see it but then I knew the twist years before I finally saw maybe in middle school but I already knew the twist because some jackass at school fucked it up for me so I I didn't. I knew the twist but by that point I had seen the six cents. After I'd Seen Haley Joel Osmond in secondhand lions right. Oh we have some secondhand lions the secondhand lions high has come to Philadelphia. Not that bad pretty good. I I think that you know pretty good solid pretty good but that that was like where my crush really like solidified. We've gotta go back. We've got to see everything so that was so I went to see it for Horn child purposes and I was like. Oh Okay and that's my entire history and then I watched it again. Yeah I forgot Toni. Collette is in this movie. I saw this movie before I knew who Toni Collette was. Didn't know she was in it at all. Yeah I do think that. Toni Collette based on the interviews. I've read with her. It seems like maybe she would prefer. We forgot you. It was A. She's like anyways knives out. Like she just blazed through it. Although I think that Toni Collette character in this movie is kind of like the lightest version of her character in hereditary. Because a lot of times in Movies Toni. Collette is just like what's going on with my son like that is the part. She's given a lot multiple. She's just like she's on screen and we're like oh. I wonder what her motivation is. She's like my son's doing fucked up things and then that's come. We gotta you know. She should have an Oscar for this though she was nominated though for this movie am I wrong. Oh my God she was. I Love Toni Collette. You're just like she's dressed like velvet from snoopy due at the end of the movie. She was nominated for a best supporting actress. That is so funny. It's like I mean she didn't win. I mean she didn't I mean I don't think so she didn't win. Did you notice that when you re watching it like the end of the movie where Haley Joel Osmond and Tony Collides relationship is like resolved at the end. She's dressed exactly like Velma from Scooby Doo. She's wearing the turtleneck dark. The hairstyle is exactly the same and she's crying. I'm like I can't engage so distracted by the fact that she's costs playing during. I mean when you think of it. The sixth sense is like a very gritty. Scooby Doo narrative unpacked offsides and who unpacked. Who's the bad guy in this movie? Death like final destination nation. Movie I They'll all pass them gay. But Yeah I don't know I mean the closest we get to a villain in this movie is Munchhausen's by proxy mom. Right who I forgot about and I'm like what is that doing here. And then there's little Meizhou Barton. We'll get to that too sure. Well should I do the recount? Yeah I guess. We started on accident so here. We go Dr Malcolm Crowe is Bruce Willis and a million times a movie. You're like it's not Dr Ian Malcolm Right Dr Malcolm Crowe. This is not drastic park as much as we want it to be. Yeah and his wife Ann Anna Crow Crow. Yeah I like in the beginning. Seen her whole thing she's like I'm your wife. She literally says she's like I'm your wife and you don't pay attention to me and he's like anyways that's a whole seed. They're staring at a plaque. That's during his accomplishment at a job we soon learn. He's not that good she's just like I'm your wife and your mean. And he's like ha ha but that's what they're celebrating because he's received an award from the city of Philadelphia. I hope that you know Philly doesn't give out awards for this kind of stuff. And then a former patient of his Vincent Gray. Who is played by Donnie? Wahlberg by I okay so for some reason when I was watching this movie with my boyfriend kill me. I'm not a feminist. I was watching it with him. And for some reason I was so one million percent. Sure that the guy who shoots Bruce Willis was Christian Bale to the boy when he came on screen and it was visibly not Christian. Bale I was like he's a chameleon he's so good that he has a different head but it's not done Wahlberg. You lost forty pounds to do this. One scene which is like sign of embarrassing Ram but imagine losing forty pounds and then being on set maximum two days like. What was he trying to prove? Whatever it was it didn't work. He owns a cheeseburger. You know whatever he does fine. Yeah so this former patient Vincent Gray feels Dr Malcolm. Crowe has completely failed him and so he shoots Malcolm in the abdomen and then he shoots himself in the head. We cut to the following fall. Malcolm is stocking a child the way yeah. We see that yeah. No He's stalking your child named Kohl's steer coal okay for everyone in the crowd. Who's like we call here? This movie is very subtle. You have to be careful with the sort of thing but it's not spelled as E. R. No you it's subtle different there. It is really fun like I have some quotes for later but whenever like when this movie was coming out. He was interviewing for this movie. As if the very obvious things in the movie were so subtly well Cole. Sear now not. Everyone's GonNa get this. He's see yours. Coal is Malcolm's patient and he's a sweet boy he's he's he's an angel is talent. Jacob Tremblay wishes but there's something different about coal. He's not like the other the other sears. And he speaks. Latin and he opens all the drawers and the kitchen or is that him or is it We MEET HIS MOM LYNN. Sear. That's totally. She's I don't look at me so coal and Malcolm have an appointment at Cole's house and we learn more about him he like. He made a drawing that depicted this violent murder and he has a secret okay. So meanwhile Malcolm's home life is rough. He and his his wife keeps ignoring him. And we're like what does I do. Not No okay. Never mind but like it's so there is this thing with thrillers. We're talking about this backstage. There is this thing with like thrillers. That have a twist that you can really only tell if they're a good movie when you've seen it twice right like if anyone has seen parasite won't spoil anything. There's a twist in the movie and when you see at the second time you're like Oh this is an amazing movie because gets even better once you know the twist whereas the sixth sense is a little different once. You know the twins you're like. Oh this is the worst thing I've ever seen in my entire life. I can't wait. I have so many questions that are going to poke some holes in this plot. We're really going to show him. This movie was nominated for best picture that year. I know but like ninety nine was like not a good year for anyone. Who's okay so wife is ignoring. Yes and his wife Malcolm in Col- meet again and they're making some progress but there's something that's really troubling coal and we still don't know what it is. He has an outburst school. Then there's this a birthday party incident where some mean boys lock coal and a little cupboard and then he has some sort of seizure type thing have then. Malcolm is with him in the hospital and Cole says he's ready to tell Malcolm his secret trailer moment. We get the line the line I see dead. No laws it's a really good actor. He's you know me. I don't like a lot of child actors but Hanley Joel really knocks that out of the park. He's perfect. He's perfect in all subsequent roles as well. I have a whole section later. Okay good okay. So he sees dead people and the ghosts that he sees everywhere. I don't know that they're dead. He sees them all the time. And it's just very melodramatic. These ghosts that he sees. They apparently have all died very violent deaths as well. There's no I thought that was because of it's like oh it's just people with unfinished business who they're unfinished businesses. I WANNA scream at Haley Joel. Laws like their unfinished business has never really made that. Clear yell at him and Scans scare. It's a lot of people died having Yeldham yet and that is what allows them to pass on. I guess who knows this movie makes no sense. So Malcolm assumes that Cole seeing dead people is the result of a mental illness but we start to learn that there actually are dead people walking around who torment and abuse and yell at coal. Guess so Malcolm. He's under a lot of pressure. He said he's going to transfer coal to another doctor because he needs to spend more time with his his wife and his wife is getting a little Florida with some guy. Yes and Bruce Willis is acting out about it. He's he's dead and so forth right but cold begs Malcolm to help him and believe him. Because you know Hashtag believe Hailey jaws man. I think everyone in the crowd would agree. We as a fan base believe Haley Joel Hussmann's so Malcolm starts to reflect back on his treatment of Vincent. The person from the beginning of the movie Christian Bale Not Christian Bound Donnie. Wahlberg right and he plays back some old tapes And Malcolm realizes that Vincent had this same seeing dead people curse which we learn. Apparently only afflicts little boys whose parents are divorced. That's melrose his obsessed with divorce anytime you see him. Treating a patient the first thing about them is like first name last name status of parents marriage and that like he's so and then he's like divorce okay. This kid is going to be like you know. By that logic half of the planet would see. Yeah wish we do well. You were child of divorce. Am this room right now but I can see though. My parents are marriage legally binding so I can't see dead people half. Yeah get them to sign. The paper is your life is GonNa Shane Bruce Willis is going to show up. Okay SO MALCOLM. He realizes that the dead people that call is seeing just want help from coal. They want to help them and he thinks he's like if you just listen to them they'll go away right So it's still very unclear. What some of the ghosts want help with some because we really only find out about one of them which Mr Barton ghost she shows up she's puking everywhere and then I'm gonNA calls like Hi. How can I help you? First customer service. That is a lot.

"John. Yeah Yeah Yeah what I kind of feel like. We should give some context here. Okay Yeah so. That was our friendly neighborhood science reporter here. Vox Brian Resnick. You are today. Explained reporter Noam hasn't felt and you guys have been talking about this study he saw and just listened to that. I'm wondering like when Brian said touch your chest. Now close your eyes and touch your chest. I had no problem doing that but these women can't they're struggling. Do I have something that they don't you do? Yeah it's a sense and it's called proprio -ception proprio -ception yet. It's kind of like a sixth sense. It's basically the sense of knowing where your body is in three dimensional space. Okay you have a computer in front of you right. Yeah I got like a microphone and a computer so close your eyes and touch the computer K. Easy right yeah you Si- you had a picture in your head of where it was and you remembered where it was the harder question though is. How do you know where your fingertip is? I guess I just have like an innate sense of it that's appropriate option That's not just memory it's related. We have memories for all of our senses. We can envision what things look like we can remember smell but for people without proprio -ception. They have nothing to remember. And that's what led to this experiment. We were hearing about at the top at the NIH. Yeah exactly. They're basically studying proprio -ception there because it's sort of this doorway to a mysterious universe. We don't actually understand a lot about how appropriate works as well as it does in the body and studying it could change the way we think about a lot of big scientific questions like how touch works or how pain works or even how consciousness works and this is what you spoke to Brian about. Yeah and at first. He had some trouble putting it into words. You just know right. It's actually really hard to think about. It's just implicit. When you close your eyes it's not like the world disappears. There's an impression of it. That's appropriate option. Purpose is critical for that type of coordination where you can close your eyes and you can reach out and you can touch something because how else would you know where it is? This is new for me. I mean I imagine. It's a lot of people listening. Yeah how do we not know that we have nece sense so with other senses they attenuate they go up and down. You can see things you could see. Dim things per reception never turns down. It's always the same volume it's always on so you don't notice it. So is this an everyday thing? Like what do you actually use? Promo for you. Use It to know like how far and how fast to reach out your arm you use purpose to keep your spine straight these people without it. They have these horrible scoliosis posture. Every muscle in your back needs work in concert to keep your Spine Street. If you look at your legs the whole time while you were walking you can look at anything else. There's actually one example of a patient. He lost his per perception due to an illness. Troy's learn to sit up for days weeks and had terrible time. We pains and pulled muscle sort of felt like and it was exceedingly frustrating sitting up to that point and suddenly. I was deprived of the simplex just sitting up and he had to learn to walk again by watching his legs and seeing how far he had moved them hands. Bits but only envision but as soon as I looked away they would. If he wasn't looking at his legs he couldn't walk. So how does appropriate reception actually work in our body? What are the mechanics here? In every muscle of your body you have this structure called a spindle where their sensory nerves in the spindle. Which are sensing how far your muscle has been stretched and kind of like the doorbell to your nervous system saying. Hey there's like a mechanical force here you should feel it. You should feel it and every muscle of your body is sending this information to your spinal cord in your brain all the time if each muscle is telling the spinal cord and brain farts stretched. Then spinal cord brain can do this. Computation figure out where it is. The wildest thing is that no one understands how the brain and spinal cord does this computation. It's it's massive an enormous in a happens nearly instantaneously and these women that I saw are part of the research effort to try to figure some of this out so these women did they have an injury no they have a genetic condition. They're actually missing a receptor that is found on the nerves that enter the muscle spindle and so they're missing this one thing. It kind of makes them blind proper -ception in a lot of ways. They're kind of like discovering the first blind or deaf people but they're the first people who are blind to purpose option How many of these people are there so the NIH has been scouring the world asking doctors around the world to look out for these people and so far. They've found about seventeen so if it's only a handful of people so far that have been discovered who are say blind appropriate -ception. What are scientists hoping a get added? The research will the beauty of a lot of basic research in biology is just finding out how nature built. Something can help us learn how to build things so a lot of the science at the. Nih that they're doing is funded under the umbrella of pain research and these researchers Kinda WanNa get this almost quantum level view of how we feel things and how we experience our bodies better understand pain and to better find ways to treat it. There are also potential applications down the road like you can imagine in robotics like having robots that have better fluid motion and they can do these complex computations to find out where the pieces are and all that there's also applications for prestige cheese. Scientists are getting better at giving people the ability to control like a prosthetic limb. But you don't close the loop appropriate Sept- of information back from those limbs and that would be really critical and until we come up with some futuristic technology. These women can they get around. They actually do have appropriate -ception of sorts and the researchers I talked to do say they generate a three dimensional map of their bodies. They just do it in a different way than you and me. So you and me are are using the muscle spindles and finding out exactly where limbs are. At all times. These women can use their vision to compensate. They're looking at their arms or legs. They can do just fine and they had to learn how to do that. And that's the most remarkable thing the brain does is compensated in working on this story. And talking to these neuroscientists I began to think of consciousness as a kind of wizard stirring a potion. You feed into this potion. All these senses their sight or vision purpose option. But it's not like if you're missing an ingredient. The potion goes bad. This conjurer will always make consciousness. We'll always try to generate compensate. Scientists can make progress in this area can give us answers to the biggest questionable. What does it mean to be human.

Anger is not it's not healthy for you know it is out of anger. There's a lot of anger and to vent your frustrations, but it's not God though of anger, but it's not. Healthy man I only is not healthy for me. I was healthy. Because when I get when I get angry, I get so fucking angry and like. I go crazy. Dude I would like to see that side of you eventually. Does this whole phone fucking? Not? This is not funny this. Time you talked to me, this is the way. I think that you try to pay me as being a certain way. And Generali, what the page beauty or your Asterik is, and then when I disagree with you. You're like what are you? Know like. that. Ever disagree. I think I think that you like to disagree with me. I like this. Like arguments. That's why we never agree. Because you liked to. Disagree will come to understand though like I I definitely agree with you and a lot of things, but you don't want to talk about the things we agree. To? We'll be don't disagree I interested. So. Yeah, you fucking every. You're saying that 'cause I don't act like you. I'm saying fucking if I was. If I was just trying to see you and try to say things that you like that would be funny recess. Individual. You been individual thing I met out here so far. Yeah, a lot of people you can tell like. I met somebody like other couple years ago. The next just like this dude and it is just like this. They're the same person. There's a whole group of people. A lot of people just choose like one of the. Cutout of personalities and all I want WanNa be that one and they become that. Personality that there's two hundred of and so I feel like when there's that movie. Was I move when? You go to sleep. In the thing was the by the new. Medium. If you like Goldblatt high school derailed accusation. They're all the same kid. They're all like these gangster he like. They look at the the same fucking old reviews mid mid mid age hippies. Nerve bugging dying. Down dozen diamond doesn't do anyone personality. It's. He. Think when people look at me. A lot of wall I think I'll. Still when I think about other people's like perception to me I. Think the first thing people think about is my height. So. What High Yeah! Actually like. Unless they're you know the same height as me or shorter than me, but usually people make some pretty short, so the first thing they think is like certain. This guy is short. And that kind of sets the tone for a whole, my whole relationship with a lot of people. Really. Know what you think of it like that. Maybe that's just like me being. Well you're also pretty short, so only everson hear your opinion is kind of. Does his balance as them sugar like. Me Talk Guys. They probably think lesson. Because dues Percy don't care. No, it's not about being attracted to. Respect because over special dudes on any level. It's like when you. Do why what's the point? Lots of due disrespect other duties. Boys for now tackle. Yeah, you're fucking. Likes to play on bolts and anomaly. You'd like to be really angry. Sometimes, the order of says something I've been a lot of personalities like remember was just talking about how people see. There's a preset personality and then they choose it. I've chosen a lot of those preset personnel. They were like phases for me, and so I've gone through a bunch of different personality. Finding reason. What are you doing? Finally I've been the last face for a while I've been complete for awhile good. But. It's just cycle. Psychopaths this sounds psycho. Guerrilla. Honest if it sounds cycle IB psycho like washing. "Eighty. S Not saying I want everybody in the mom to come watch it podcasts, but ain't gonNA happen due to negative we can. We can talk about whatever we wanted the American bitch. Rights, nobody's going to listen to us until we have earned their attention. That goes back to my point. Why, we haven't his guests on became to build on what we are as individuals to actually have the people that we are. Do everything that you everything you've said. Everything that you have said in the last couple of episodes. Is Funniest Shit. You just don't think so. I'm trying to figure out. Plenty podcasts no with. It I think we have. Something in the kid just be talked people. We're the fucking view. Well, are we remember one? We recorded the first episode, and then sat for year, and then I listen to it again, and I was like. This is fucking hilarious, and so it's like. I don't try to be funny. But you and I are kind of like. Naturally like when we taught, we'll have a conversation. It just waste. Comes up and so I-. I labeled through art. Yes. I liberal. I labeled this a comedy because it just naturally happens when we talk about random shit, so what I like about this podcast is that we just talked about Ryan. I'm shit and there's funny parts in it ends up like on that one of us, so we're talking about tattoos and you're like. Talking. You were getting pussy tattooed on you. I don't. GonNa why it's funny I give. It was funny because you like, said it really quickly and I didn't react took. I agree with I'm just on just confused. Bag, but I was trying to be funny for funding Sake, but if we're not trying to be funny friends, it is natural. Can we just have a conversation without fucking subjects? Then we just talk as humans well I like the reasonably subjects, because sometimes shit on my mind. That I want to talk about like right now. What's on my mind is like the whole drug thing. Let's get into. This. So I have. By the way this has been my favorite podcasts. Like. I'm being overly honest I'm telling you like I'm. Not sure what's happening with this I'm trying to figure out because this full time. Why the fuck, I'm David here. Will be funny of. Let's give my input for something. Just supposed to talk okay. I wouldn't worry about being funny like I feel like. If you're worried about being funny, you probably wind up, not being funny. I, wish, I would have started I wish I would have been podcasting since two thousand nine. I haven't making videos since two thousand nine I. Just was not podcasts, but same anyways porn though. Back to drugs so I have the opinion. I which is ironic because this is the first time I we're not on drugs technically. On drugs, but we didn't do drugs before. It, just depends on what you think of like weak drugs, drugs, drugs drugs, and it makes her mental me. It makes you think differently, which is anything as ASPIRIN fucking drug? Anything's a drug, so I have the opinions ever all drugs should be legal in the world would be a better place if all drugs were legal, or at least the country will get place if all drugs legal. From us to ticker using that from your own, just belief system well I I've listened to a lot of people's perspective of it, and also just my own like. When I imagine like the things that could happen so. When I say all drug should be legal. A lot of people are like. Oh, you're a druggie and you just want to do drugs, but those people don't realize that I already have the power to do all the drugs. I don't need them to be so. That's kind of irrelevant whether I want to do drugs and. What the reason why I think drugs should be legal, is that? Right now. If you buy drugs if you want to say if you're addicted to crack like people are going to do crack, you can't make it. There's nothing you can do to make it so that people stopped doing crack or heroin or something. Counseling. The issue is mental. Ritz love. Most. Speaking Inglewood live, but as an ex heroin addict in dealt with a lot of people like the. Motion problems they just don't go with these drugs. Session killed avoid. If people just him and I just WANNA smoke crack every game and. There's people. Then there's. GotTa realize ninety nine percents of people are on this Kinda Shit. It's emotional. Problems is not because they just want. The only wants to wake up when they say I'm going to smoking crack one wakes up like that. No wakes up in the Moore's ahead with shoot up some heroin and my fucking veins. no-one does do because the motion problems. They don't know what it is it even if you don't it is. That is the case with a lot of with a lot of people, but I also think some people are just like any. Try this drug one time a kind of how I am. I don't not like I. Haven't had like a ridiculously hard life, so my point is. Is that going to happen though you can't? Like wants something has been invented like these drugs. You can't get rid of them I know where you're trying to say, but you also realize the whole industry to fight against them. Realize there's cops. Yeah the doesn't do anything they don't, but they do for their own family. You GotTa look now. You gotTA. Look not now this. You're trying to go culture now the prison. Condition. Culture cultural. Going to. These agents they have a family. They gotTA feed. I got sons and daughters us to all they're doing is trying to growing job, which is to make lead in every other drug illegal came in. Blame them on that basis, so there's no winning this grow your logic though your logic is hey, people have to have jobs, even evil people. That's not true not. East only can't they have us off your people away for giving drugs? Evil because they don't like what you do. No wrong with you then you're fucking evil to them. TOLD THEM UP wrong. No, I think it's able to lock. Delivered doing for smoking, weed or something maybe. You haven't medicine. Yes, we do work all around everywhere Colorado. We've got arrested once for smoking. We please tell me. People go to jail for growing. We'd of Colorado everywhere I have a computer, so I can't pull up. This is why we young Jamie. This is why we need. You know just as well as Texas. Yes, it did happen at all of the US people. Liked to use forgetting Alabama especially those crazy southern states I know about that suit. People don't know about this. People's go to jail. They did smoking weed and for growing wheat. They smell and not even. If you are smarter delicate strategy. You're related to the human culture. If you smoke if you just WANNA get high off whatever you WANNA get high off of. Hurting anybody else I think then you go to jail for that is so fucked the same hatred you have then. You better hatred. Okay, the same disdain you'd disdain. Don't try DA this call them fucking evil. You can't call someone evil without having some disdain about him because he would never just call someone I don't think layer evil as individuals ethnic. Able think because they think they have the same kind of gauge or whatever this kind of you have. To the people that trying to collect bills. They're just loyal to a fault to their government here and if you sleep that. Movement Alabama last week Wade into to kill somebody. Okay wait! You might auto peed on. All the people. You just. You know people.

We'll come in wash his up so like saying it's good to network like this. Thing it's too early to be networking like this everything. We should actually get a base foundation what we're trying to do because honestly like I said I'm try fucker going. Are we trying to be funny or trying to be social? Are we trying and make social commentary? Try Be Real. Fake, we're just talking. I can just be. I cannot make jokes I you're you're a senior overtaking the whole thing we're just talking. To make a social movement. Rome China that gasoline going on I. Don't want to just do some. Do something my here to have fun I'm here to actually make something. This podcast shouldn't be. The social movement doesn't as what I'm saying. This podcast is why why can't show discussion podcasts. Money ever be made in that. Are we doing this then and? Let's. Let's be. You can't make money in this. Honestly you can. Jordan everybody else's. Wife. Geraldine is the top, but he's typically table. There's middle people actually do. It's still too, but. It's it's hard work. Man, what you gotTa, do all this. You have to put all this production your end of the day. What do you want from this? I just wanted to. Yeah Okay you can't do it for that you have to do do. It do a lot a lot until it becomes kind of like. Boring like. An and then and then maybe we'll see. We'll see a little something after like two hundred episodes like we're on the six episode man. We. We got twenty two. Step service severe, so we're GONNA. Crush unburied buried on this. As of right now, this is the worst fucking podcast in the world. What do you think of like? That was twenty two views in the last episode minute twenty two. Exactly you keep on trying to promote the bullshit people in from what the people I've been telling. Twenty two people is more than nothing. And then they're sixty sixty views on the. Monterey and that's sixty people. It's like a magic, a room full of sixty people. I like that as good as like. If sixty people listen to us every time forever for like two hundred episodes. That's that's good for me like I can carry less of views I just want. The some ten tell him I think. We have a different. Viewpoint of through the podcast. Because I want to make some progress in this country, I wanNA. Make progress against what people. I'm running this podcast like a business and I'm ready to fucking like in Jesus over here, Djembe truthful. You can't. I'm not. GonNa make any money from Belli's gallon. Some understanding of them the day hopefully I'm saying if you think that you can, you can do it better than you should make a podcast of your own. And do it but I'm saying. It's fucking hard dude like they. They don't deserve our input. If you look if you listen to the first episode. Your point of view has changed so much love it. I, said, you say. I'm actually the one that was like fog off. Listen to us and you're like well. Wait until. Until it, someone told me that I can't say certain things and made me lose my first amendment in podcast. You are clearly different than you are now like you evolution, my man, you learn you. I was more outlandish than you and you even pointed out. And that's what I'm saying. I you're I. Think you think my aunt outlandishness. Nowhere I like outlandishness I think. You're scared of the UC. UC The line and you like to fuck and poke at it. Now no state just before the line, so you just want people who just hang out just before London. Would you want to to some things? WHO. These people are saying. I don't see anybody else every week except for my wife and kid so. Think. You're wrong like we see each other every single week like I made his Co. amendment to you. You don't think we hang out because we're making podcast. We're talking to people like tons of this stuff. That doesn't even go on. They're like only the like funny like most interesting stuff goes on there, so it's like. It's not like we're not just talking. Is there ever going to be back without fucking camera? Yeah. "I won't. Rights so. Here yet. I guess I'll talk about something before every else gets here. I gave the student five star rating on his podcast because I. I joined a bunch of podcast groups on facebook to promote podcast. And so. I gave this guy, five, Star Rating. Because I think he made a post about it. He was like if you give me a five star rating. I'll give you five stories. I gave frustrating. told him about it. And I posted my podcast sneaky wants you. and. He said Yeah I'll pass. Me So the reason that he passed. I, the second episode of our PODCAST TALKS ABOUT HOMOSEXUALITY And I'm not even I'm not sure exactly what was said that offended him, but we said something. One of US said something that offended him, but the thing is that. I posted my the link for my podcast and he responded yeah I'll pass like two seconds later so.
