"Talk to janine autumn's big sister. I love you with all my heart janine. You're my best friend forever my very first one. You've always been by my side letting me unconditionally. Guiding me through all the difficult times in my life. I'm so blessed to have such a beautiful strong smart caring understanding inspiring woman as my big sister. Thank you sissy for being the amazing person you are. It's been such a great journey so far with you. And i can't wait for all the wonderful adventures and memories. We will have together in the future. So we've talked about why this case was worth putting in all the time. Autumn wasn't famous. This wasn't like a gory. Bloody scene with a crazed serial killer which we know being hosts of a true crime. Podcast you know this falls in line with our work is reporters you know if it bleeds. It leads adly true. Yes i mean. I'm not trying to say that. That's what we look for in every case it's clearly not but we know that that people people are drawn to those cases on to those cases but in autumn's case it was just dismissed so early as a suicide even though there was so much going on that needed more attention not just from the criminal aspect of it but on the personal side as well. This case has been the ultimate test for autumn's mom chair sti as she works to maintain her sobriety. They don't tell that in nineteen hundred and forty two days sober and it's been really hard for me to stay sober the all test you know but i know if i drink. I'm gonna die because that's why it was nothing autumn. Step mom. amy is also being fueled by the clock and the fear that if too much time passes they might never be able to find the truth. The word hasn't gotten out is getting colder and colder colder. People are getting new phones. They're dumping their pictures. Were getting farther and farther. Inspirer away from putting the person responsible hiwar's we can stop reliving this case every day. Now we have to get to that video. Caroline and i were recently on king five new day northwest with amity adrisi to talk about autumn's case. Caroline and kin have recently received some video in the case but they need the person who shot the footage to come forward and verify. If that's you please contact scene of the crime. So video was sent to kimberly. Remember autumn's friend. And confidante from the cafe. She was one of the last people who spoke to autumn the day she died and this happened in april of twenty twenty one about a year and a half. After autumn's death. I woke up sunday morning. It was easter morning and it was about six thirty morning. And i had a message on messenger and it was from somebody who was not friends with. She sends me this video. I watched it. I watched it a few times. Definitely had moments. I immediately senate to brent and then i sent it to detective whitmer and then i got detective. Barrows information through the everett police department in sending it to everybody. I know i didn't know if i should or not but to me i'm like this proof. This is evidence is what we've been looking for. We're not sharing too much information about this video at this point because we haven't been able to verify ourselves the source of the video or the context in which it was recorded and kimberly says police. Investigators are having the same issue. They need to speak with the person who took the video if they hope to use it as evidence she is not real as a fake facebook page. So it's a cover page for her. And i can understand why she would do that. I'm sure she's terrified. And i totally understand. She's got kids. She's she doesn't want to get involved with this so once i end up talking to detective boroughs trying to figure out how to find her how to figure out who she is doing. Dollar super sleuth. Things that we can think of. I was coming to seattle over mother's day weekend. And so i told him i would be more willing to hand my phone over so they can see if they could possibly get the original. Ip address than at first. He said yes. Thank you for that. Offer lemme see what we can do on our side and stay in touch. And i'll let you know if we're going to need that or not so few days. Before i left for seattle for mother's day i emailed him and said i was going to be out there and my offer still stood because i hadn't heard anything that they found out who she was or how to get a hold of her and his response to me was. I will not be needing your phone. We got our stuff figured out. So i really appreciate that. I will keep you notified. Or if i have any other questions i will definitely keep in touch with you. Kimberly is so dog in everything regarding this case and she's continued trying to follow up with this woman herself as well but she says she hasn't had any luck so far in getting a response even though it starting to feel like she is beating your head against a wall. Kimberly says she still doesn't want to give up. I don't feel that she knows exactly. How big of a deal. She is to this case right bow. She realizes that she could be our answer right now. And i don't know how to get that across to her. We also haven't heard any more from that person that brent calls a person of interest the man who is in the hammock in had an active warrant out for his arrest she had multiple protection orders on him with different women and he's in a hammock defeat from where autumn lewis pulled out. He said he didn't see or hear anything. Which i'm crying. Bullshit you either are very good witness or you are a person of interest to claim that you didn't see her. Hear anything is a lie. Brent says it was a mistake for investigators to release this guy without seeing if shoreline police wanted to arrest him on the warrant and without questioning him about what he might have seen it green lake. On the day of autumn's death officers did take down the man's information his name and phone number but there is no indication they ever contacted him again and when we tried to.
