'This Isn't a Game': Biden Responds to Governors Challenging Vaccine Mandate
"Isn't a game. That's how president biden scolded republicans. Who are outraged. Over his new efforts to combat the corona virus president biden announced a six part plan to compel millions of unvaccinated americans. Stick the shot including requiring employers with more than one hundred workers to mandate vaccinations or make unvaccinated workers. Get tested weekly and this not fifteen hundred people. Dying daily from delta is lighting a fire under republican leaders. Some republican governors are threatening to sue the by administration over vaccine mandates. The republican governor of texas called the mandate quote an assault on private businesses. Who have the right to choose. And he's the one who signed into line abortion banned that doesn't allow women their right to choose and south carolina's republican governor promise to battle president biden into the quote gates of hell. Whatever that means. President biden said this today in response. I am so disappointed that Particularly some republican governors have been so cavalier with the health of these kids so cavalier the health of their communities. This is. we're playing for real here. This isn't a game. And i don't know of any scientists out there in this field but doesn't think it makes considerable sense to do the six things i've suggested it's terrifying to think that the health and wellbeing of our their constituents is taking a back seat to politics but welcome to the gop in twenty twenty one. Keep in mind. These republican governors are all vaccinated themselves. They're not at risk
Biden 'Disappointed' in GOP Governors Who Plan to Resist Vaccine Mandate
"President biden is defending a new federal rule that will require certain businesses to mandate cove in nineteen vaccines or testing for employees. Npr's aisha roscoe reports the new regulation which is part of biden's six point strategy to combat the highly contagious delta. Variant of the corona virus will apply to about eighty million workers. President biden says that governors who want to file lawsuits over the new regulation can have at it during a visit to a middle. School biden. said that he's disappointed. Some republican lawmakers have opposed mandates for vaccines and mask replying for real here. This isn't a game. And i don't know of any scientists out there in this field but doesn't think it makes considerable sense to do the six things i've suggested. The republican national committee has already said that it plans to sue the administration over the new rule. Calling it. unconstitutional is roscoe. Npr news the whitehouse.
Rep. Banks Says Pelosi Must Answer Questions About Capitol Security
"Nancy pelosi has broken a few norms by kicking you off the kangaroo commission for the ridiculous january sixth thing what are you guys going to do exactly the kind of vengeance. It's necessary to deter this kind of norm destruction in the future. Well that's a great question for first and foremost where we're going to have a press conference here about a half an hour. The group that she or that that kevin mccarthy rather appointed to serve on the committee that she rejected as you said this has never happened before completely unprecedented in congressional history for the leader of one party to reject the appointments to a select committee from the other parties. So i suppose. I'll be an asterik in history when it comes to that but as far as the as far as the topic at hand the reason that nancy pelosi targeted a rejected me and jim jordan because we were beginning to ask the questions this she did not want this committee to head toward answering. What questions on am i talking about. Specifically about why. The united states capitol was vulnerable on january. Six to begin with when there was intelligence report three weeks before january six that told the told the capitol police that something was going to happen that day. Why why did the leadership of the capitol. Police failed to act on that intelligence. And and why didn't they do anything about it. But by the way when you look at the leadership structure of the united states capitol and the oversight of the of the united states capitol police. The speaker of the house says more authority than anybody. So all of this happened on nancy. Pelosi's watch and and those are the questions. Jim jordan and i started asking about about those vulnerabilities why nothing was done about it and those are questions. That clearly doesn't want to doesn't want to answer.
Create a Successful Product with Your Invention Idea with Kevin Mako
"You're a hardware startup right now. What are the current status of the overall invention industry. I love it the hardware industry. The invention industry is going through a crazy crazy revolution right now. I kind of call it the perfect storm of opportunity for new product startups. And there's there's really a boils down to six things that are happening at the same time. All coming together right now in this crazy storm so first of all love it or hate it over the next twenty to years. Everything that you touch antsy around you. Look around your room right now. Everything that you see from the you know the chair that you're on the desk the window you're looking of. It will all be connected. There will be chips in maybe a very small way like saying. Hey you're coach. Cushion needs replaced or in a large ways. We're already seeing with many products like the next nest thermostat right so much happening in terms of the space of innovation and the opportunities available but that's just one of them but in addition to that there's other things first of all the product design tools a software the prototyping techniques and all that are making it easier than ever for product developers to make client inventions. Real right we've got advanced. Cad design tools simulation software to ensure products are high-quality. You've got all these kinds of crazy prototype parts like metals and advanced materials that we can use so just the development in itself is going through a revolution to make just that much easier to design a great product but also test what the outcome of that product is going to be from a physical perspective. Three big companies are spending far less money on research and development but much more money on acquisition of small product companies. Think of the nest thermostat think of oculus rift and all these things. Even there's that sponged right that was that was sold for millions of dollars. It was literally just cleaning sponge of the magic. You got it the other one. I heard you mentioned it on the show before show you. That thing is absolutely unbelievable right so that again. It's an example where companies looking and saying. Let's let the world innovate and then we'll just by those great innovations as they come out and they get market validated.
Jared Graybeal: Self-Care to Before You Burnout
"Start about how this all came together. I mean you've written this book about focusing on growth and best practices to help yourself come stay focused on growth of course but primarily focused on growth while at the same time avoiding mental burnout. Which right now. I think is a great thing to be talking about. Because a lot of people because of the covid nineteen pandemic just being stuck indoors a lot more partial quarantines uncertainty about going outside and being able to interact with other people are going through these cycles of sort of highs and lows and then hitting plateaus in terms of mental burnout. So let's start with that. How did you come up with the idea for the self help. Oh so basically. I was inspired about three years ago to lead a group at church that i used to attend In a pastor at the time win me to start a group around biblical leadership and entrepreneurship. And i started teaching. Something called taming. The line which is a four part series now decided. I wanted to write a book called taming the lion. The problem was i'm i would never consider myself to be a high level rider. I got average grades throughout like english class in literature in high school and college and so that just became like a self fulfilling prophecy of thinking that i'm not a good writer so with that being said i spent a year on trying to write this book and i guess you could say i got writer's block however one of my good friends a long time ago inspired me to start writing blogs which is much less of a responsibility than like writing a book And you don't have to think that you're a great writer to write a blog at three hundred words or five hundred words thousand works and so i started writing this blog just because of a regular cadence of writing one every month or two. It was called five ways to never stop growing in. This blog ended up being. Don't remember eight thousand words or something which is way longer than my normal blog In normally what i do is i'll write a blog and record it onto my podcast in like ten fifteen minutes this would have been like forty five minutes away too long for a typical structure and i thought about it. It was what. I thought to be a great blog but it was way too long and i thought you know i left a lot out. I could revisit this teaching expand on it may be true three times longer in publishing as a bump to get some experience publishing a book so that we could revisit the original idea. And that's what i did in so it was a lot easier to tackle the idea of writing a book whenever you already sort of created the manuscript as a blonde format way less of a commitment. And so that's what i did and i just revisited. Each thing and i created an intro and in altro whatever conclusion and pursue publishing agency in did all the steps to get where we are now. Yeah that's really cool. and so. How did you overcome sort of that initial imposter syndrome to begin with because you hit writer's block you're already convincing yourself going into it that you're not really a great writer and i know that the the blog helps and impart the podcast has been the same for me right. I kind of wanted to develop more content for myself. Now i'm an attorney fulltime. That's sort of my that is my full-time gig and so writing was more writing was not what i want so i thought to myself you know how. How can i get more content out and obviously you could. Do you know instagram. Or linked in stories or record yourself in post those videos as a sort of log series instead or something along. Those lines develop a youtube channel. There are multiple avenues in the blog. Was that for you but in your story there you talk about how that first year you hit a lot of writer's block. How did you overcome that and get yourself back on track. It's all by getting the reps in. I'm not a person that thinks. I'm particularly great at a lot of things but i do aspire to be and so i know the the practical approach to that is just to keep trying in the best way for me is to keep for example. If i wanted to write a book. I need to write a bunch of blogs. Because if i can't think through finishing this big hairy audacious goal. I can at least commit to a five hundred word blog from time to time and honestly from me. What helps me. Because i never thought myself and i still don't really consider myself to be a great writer but i know that i'm a relatively good teacher in speaker and so a lot of times when i'm inspired to speak on something naturally Why have to put an outline together. So i can speak on this topic in it ends up being a blog so i sort of immersed engineer that thought process of like why know that. I'm pretty good at speaking of teaching. What in order to get there. I need to write an outline. Let me ride outline for a teaching and then that thought process becomes way easier than like. I need to write a blog this month. Should i ride on. It's really more or less would want wanna teach on. And then how do i write an outline for that in building with you know the content necessary so for me. That's it. I just find a half on like how can i don't particularly like riding. But i love the outcome. I love to teach. I love to encourage empower others to live happier healthier lives and so in order to do that. You need you need content is the key. So that's how i approach it. Yeah and i like the way that you put that that you you know that that sort of a weakness for you but you do like the the dopamine that you get from the end result so you can have reverse engineered to how to make it work for yourself and that you like to talk and that got me to thinking when you were talking just now that in a lot of ways that's also another thing that you could do certainly is just record yourself with your phone for example and then take that recording and sort of transcribe it and clean it up and that's already done some of the writing for you really really cool interesting so without giving away your secret sauce because we do want people to go. Check out your book on amazon. Obviously that's part of the reason that you publish the begin. With of course but sorta at a high level without giving away the secret sauce. What can people expect from the book. And what types of best practices are you. Providing people s in the book has been described by multiple people that have left reviews and stuff That it's basically add to do this on how to be a better person and that's perfect for me now. Being unquote better person is totally relative. But again like in the broad general sense of the phrase. that's what i wanted it to be The book's title is the self help book six practical ways to never stop growing. I'm extremely practical person almost to a fault. So this book will give you A lot of thought provoking questions. But then it'll give you practical approaches to overcoming some of the obstacles in your lie and of course the six things confidence competence clarity commitment connections and character right and so i believe that in every season or chapter page of the book of life that you're living in you can grow in one of these areas if not more. It's not all right now. Committing to grow in. All of them is a again. Another big hairy audacious goal may be too big of a task to try to conquer away but even for me. Since i wrote the book picked it back up three or four times. Read through a specific right. If i'm going to be traveling. I'm going to revisit. The connections chapter in brush up on my skills with meeting people in all the creative ways to do that. If i'm having a hard time at work. And i think maybe my leadership ability is is we come to revisit the character thing say it mirrors in my team right and so the book has these steps In these different approaches based off of tried and true principles psychology in my personal experience In the again it's like is less than one hundred pages. You could sit down and read it in two hours. Because i wanted it to be a tool and not another task.
Amy Porterfield Wants to Talk to You About Body Image
"Yours you we upon calf podcast and like always reaches. This is always me. I'm nervous emphasis. But i feel like it's good to be nervous because it means you're pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone very true in this way right. My comfort right. What's cool to me about this. Is i feel like we've kind of been talking about it and marinating it for a while. Like we've talked about this concept on stage a few times and talked about it on our girl strips together like i remember sitting where we in tucson getting your ass and i was. I was like this. Is you gotta talk about this. This is the thing which by the way. Because i'm trying to be better about when people are part of my gratitude telling them that they're part of my gratitude gratitude work every morning and i've instead of just would've grateful for this which i still do. I spend time every single day. Now kind of being present in past experiences. And i'm really great for and one always. That always comes up for me. Is that mirasol trip. It was real. I love that you say that. I think about it often because we had these really good conversations like we went deep yet and it was only like twenty four hours and it was good. It was all so let. Where do you wanna start. Where do you want to start with. What what you're feeling what you're thinking like again. We've done okay so with the help of your team. I've done a lot of work around what this podcast is going to be about. And why it's important and in the first few episodes. I share a lot about my own experience of dieting and wanting to lose weight. And i keep coming back to this concept of wanting to get to a goal weight and now how long has it been. Since i was on the ray rice stage and we talked about this i now because kobe timing means nothing was like a year was an ear was three years. I don't know maybe a year maybe a year okay. So you called me out on this concept of wanting to hit my goal weight right and i am still in the same place like i would love to hit a galway by and when we were on the rise stage i had lost a lot of weight in a really healthy way. I take that very seriously but since then this last year the covid i've gained twenty pounds. Twenty pounds in one year. I've actually never seen publicly. Total global pandemic like who on earth knew how to handle this year. Do you know like. I think it's i think women are so hard on themselves for doing things. That are normal. Nary normal good point. Because i'm very very disappointed in myself around the whole thing. Come on things. Not only was more stressful. Your husband's a first responder. You know you had a son who's transitioning into college was going on. We did know what was happening. And on top of all that you own a business and all of us who owned businesses whether the pandemic really made it better or made it way worse you were affected by what was happening stressful. Was this your most stressful. You're in business or have you had others. That were more stressful okay. That's such a great question. Because as you know i got out of a partnership. That was a really stressful thing. When you and i first met. I would say this year was definitely more stressful. And you you make a great point that my business because i'm in digital marketing. It was able to do really well this year. But i watched my students suffer struggle more than i ever have. I think you had the same experience. We watched our community. Just really go through some thing. And i took it like really hard in every day. I worried about them and eight. Do all right entire right. Well and i think so been there. I don't know if you saw like this. But i definitely felt an added there. An added layer of this. Because i know that there are tactics and tools and habits and rituals. that would help with this process. I knew it just the same as you knew if you do these six things or whatever it was it will help your business but being someone who's talking about what will help in a time where everybody is stressed and anxious and scared and whatever. Then there's an added tension of. Should i even say these things. Should we only talk about how hard it is. Am i allowed be positive here. Am i supposed to. Because i kept coming back to this idea of look. Nobody knows how to deal with the global pandemic in twenty twenty. What there is so much information about how to the side effects and in business. Nobody knows how to deal with a global pandemic in the business. You're in but dan schorr know what people can do if they build a list if they build a digital course if they built these things that have helped so many people before Who have found themselves out of work or unsure or whatever so you knew you had some answers but saying that you have answers like in everything frequent.
Seed Shopping With Nate Kleinman
"So to give people the history of experimental farm network. I'll share the link to our chat last year so they can dig a little deeper The transcript of that show so we don't repeat ourselves but very briefly. It's more than a seed catalog. I mean really. it's much more than a seed catalogs. So what's the quick elevator pitch on what you do so we started in twenty thirteen and our purpose is to facilitate collaboration on sustainable ag research and especially plant breeding we are really focused on developing perennial staple crops. To help with fighting climate change things like perennial grains perennial oilseeds Perennial vegetables and The seed company side is what funds are work. We don't really reach out. Seek grants and much in the way of donations. Were really focused on being a sustainable nonprofit cooperative through seed sales so we really rely on Exclusively on on selling seeds and We do a number of other projects as well. We we work on remain creation projects returning seeds to the people from whom they came originally We do we do quite a bit of Food justice work and we At the beginning of the pandemic we started an organization called the cooperative gardens commission which worked all of last year to provide free seeds to folks and to help facilitate resource sharing to get people the resources they need to grow food themselves and that continues the collective that that is running cooperative gardens commission is still still going we just released twenty twenty report a forty four page document on our website coop gardens dot com and Yeah pfm just really started our seed catalog the other day not that you're busy or anything. So they'll give the links to all of that all of those different things as i said so. I know i shouldn't have any interaction. Probably even if mentioned that green fleshed winter squash. Because i think it's already sold out. But when i saw you post a photo of it on instagram awhile. Back split into in there. It wasn't kind of looked like a butternut but it was green inside. And i thought what in the world and i think it helps from like guatemala or something but it just spoke to me about and that's why i got back in touch with you. It has spoken about like all these oddities and wonders of genetics. And that you have these growers breeders selectors curator sort of care people caring for all his genetics and So tell us about some of the other wonders of the world that are in the catalog this year. Thank you yeah. We're very excited about that. When we really just wanted to get it out there. And i can't say i expected it to sell out in the first day i be popular but that that exceeded all my expectations and is truly beautiful. Beautiful squash This year we are. We are released. I think one hundred and forty six things that we have never had in the catalog before Some of them. Nobody had in any catalog before. So we're really excited about that We have we have quite a few in the in the grains category this year including number of upland rices or lowland rice that will grow in dry areas and in northern areas. We have a rice from poland and other couple from japan. One from russia and We're just thrilled to be offering these because rice's Rice's really great crap and it's actually something that homesteaders can grow on a on a relatively small scale. It's still produce of calories themselves
How to Deliver a 7-Star Experience for Clients
"So just to give people like a story so for me. Whenever i'm at the four seasons the thing i love about it is i can take out my phone and order shifts guacamole and all this stuff and it just shows up to the room. I don't need to interact with anybody. Wanna talk to anybody. The food just appears right and sometimes go above and beyond they'll give me like a fruit basket the put some wine and all that cool stuff right. That's going a little above and beyond mr sue. Can i help you with this. Just a little bit right. Like not calling me. Neil or not. Eric reid is mr sue and say that feels like so professional and everything looks really nice tidy. Let's talk about seven star experience. Because i got this concept from airbnb and you know seven star. We're talking about just to give you an example. Let's say neil stays at a hotel and neil. Who's like your favorite band or was your favorite brand Experienced story let's do that. Let's do that. I can't so. I used to live at the mandarin oriental and las vegas There for many many years. I need someone who also lived there find from vegas to los angeles in los angeles during international when they arrived in los angeles. They already have their connection flight. They forgot their passports. Passport was in vegas so they call the cons. Here's the concierge. Had one of the door. People go into their place get their pastor. They told them where it was literally hopped on a plane delivered to him in lax. Straight up games like even crazier okay. So seven star or even nine star would be like. Let's say your favourite dj in your room. Mike spinning or something like that. They roll out the red carpet. Your favorite foods waiting right there. Maybe it's imported from europe or something. They just fluid in right. That is seven star. But i think if you want to think about how this five seven nine star experience you have to outline what three stars five stars looks like and you have to think about okay. How do i go above and beyond to make it a seven. How do i have to go above and beyond for the next one right. And that's the key. Eric just mentioned you had to go above and beyond. I remember talking to a client one time and they hurt us to grow their s traffic. When we're doing a good job vessel. Traffic was growing not as fast as one. But it never as fast as i want and as we're growing at on the phone with founder. Hey i don't want overstep my boundaries. But you know my team can cover the seo stuff separately after this call and they will. And i'm like. I will not do something different on this call. That just really ran on like just hear me out. And let's just go along with it and tell me what happens after thirty days in there like okay so i ended up breaking out on the phone everything that was wrong with their website when it came to conversion rate optimization standpoint and have contract. I'm like look you're trying to get resolved to your start your shot for cash. Who cares what's in your contract. I'm just gonna tell you right now. High-protein going implement this six things that are going to boost your conversion Really want you to implement the minority. And i went down through that list. They did and then within a month and a half to two months because it took him a little bit longer to get it out their conversion rate went up a bit more than thirty percent at that point business much more profitable. There were happy as your trackable much more profitable and they're like thank you. You'd have to like what we owe you. Nothing unlike your businesses wasn't gonna grow as you want it because it was really messed up on. The conversion asks a wanted to fix that i and they were happy and to me that's going above and beyond where i didn't have to. Yeah and those of you that might be wondering okay
"six things" Discussed on The 3:59
"You're looking for a smartphone for yourself or a loved one this holiday. The choices can get overwhelming. Fortunately we've got some answers. Roger chang and this is your daily charge with me phone expert than law created holiday gift guide funds. Welcome lynn hierachy. I'm happy to be here. So you've a rundown of the best smartphone options out there but before we get into specific suggestions. Any general advice on what we should think about when we're syrian new phone. Yeah every time you know before you buy. New phone is important to think about how you use your last phone. Did you play a lot of games and watch videos if so you probably want a phone with a big screen and a battery a big battery and or did you take a lot of photos and capture a lot of videos than you probably want something with a great camera so you really want to think about how you use your phone and make sure that the phone works for you and your needs instead of just getting the latest greatest. You don't wanna pay for features you don't need features that you may or may not need i talk about five g a lot on this show <hes>. But senior the expert. I wanted to get your read on this law. Is it something you really need. When considering which funded by there is a premium for five devices. So is it really worth. It is rolling out in more areas throughout this year. But i know like some carriers. I believe t mobile. They offer five g coverage under its unlimited plan anyway. So it's understandable if you're eyeing a five g device and that's your next phone in that situation but i'm not a hundred percent convinced a five g iphone is something you absolutely need this year especially when so many people are working from home anyway and especially if you don't have good five three coverage in your area so you should definitely check that before you make a decision and you know coverage maps from carriers. They don't really tell the whole story so you you wanna make sure you do a lot of research and phones. Five g. phones are getting cheaper and cheaper. So i may hold out just a bit longer gutted. It feels like the most part people are committed to the platforms. They've chosen if you're an iphone user. You're likely buying a new iphone. Twelve financial user. You have more choices. But a- likely to stick with another android phone other instances where you would consider switching. Generally that is true <hes>. It people do tend to kind of stick with the same ecosystems. But i think it's easier to switch platforms easier more now than now more than ever especially compared to years past <hes>. I think about some certain situations that would motivate motivate someone switch and i think peripheral accessories are especially good reason of the airpods pro. They do work with android phones to an extent but their functionality and their features work so much better with an iphone and you basically kind of even iphone to use an apple watch for its to its full potential so i could see android user. Who is really attracted to those accessories switch for that. I think for an iphone to android people do want the customization. I know iowa's fourteen gives you more and options but it just doesn't compare to what you can play around with on an android phone. It's a lot more fun if you have the time for it. So let's get into it. Let's talk about specific phones. What are some of your top picks for this holiday season again. It really depends on who you are and what your needs are but for an iphone. I do like the iphone mini because of its size. I have small hands. So it's very attracted to me and like the iphone se because it's a because of its low price and for android phones. The galaxy s twenty f e is really affordable. Pick for the galaxy line. And i liked the oneplus eight because it's premium but it's competitively priced so let's dig into some of those phones the the galaxy s twenty f e which. I know we made fun of alive for the name. Initially fan edition actually ended up being pretty decent <unk>. About what you get with it and why you know. That's that's a pretty decent deal. Among other phones out there. Well one is that it has five g and it has a great performance. And the although you know. The camera isn't as good as the s. twenty. Ultra the note. Twenty ultra <hes>. It's a good price. I think it starts about seven hundred dollars and it's so much cheaper than some of the premium galaxy phones out there so it's something if you want that galaxy samsung the samsung galaxy experience. But you don't want to spend way too much. I think that is a good alternative. Also you can look into samsung's galaxy a series lineup phones. Like the eighth fifty one i think is one of the more recent ones those also kind of offer that that software experience a galaxy experience without a premium of a high price so beyond some of these head like his. You know you talked about samsung. Which is a well-known <unk>. Are there any other handsome. Makers that are a bit more under the radar that offer phones. Maybe deserve a second. Look yeah. I don't. I don't have any official releases or deals specifically that i can say i always think. Motorola is such a great company for mid range affordable phones and throughout the holiday season. There moto phones do get a discounted and there are some carrier promotions to it. I would say keep an eye on those things especially if you don't want to spend a thousand dollars on a phone if you're looking for something it starts like two hundred dollars. An up. motorola makes a really solid aggressively priced phones. That if you don't really need all the premium features so if you just kind of use your phone to make calls the moti. Seven power is a good mid range phone with a big battery so you don't have to charge it and that would be a great pick for someone who's a little bit more straightforward with their needs at. Don't need a lot or grammy. It's black friday today. So i'm sure there are plenty of deals to go around beyond the motorola brand new. You mentioned one plus and that's another company. That is a little bit under the radar. It's not a household name tug a little bit about that in some of the options there. Yeah we're plus is definitely. They started out as an android enthusiasts brand. They've branched out in there a little bit more popular. Now you're right. They're not as popular will known as google and samsung. Their current flagship line is the eight. It's oneplus eight pro. Act it's a lot of phones year. They released like four <hes>. And so that's kind of their higher end line. They just released their oneplus. Nord en ten. Five g <hes>. That will be available in north america at a later date and that has five g <hes>. And it's about. I think it's going to be about four hundred dollars. Give or take so that is something that you know. They've consistently released premium phones with great hardware at affordable pricing used to be more affordable from years past. Not so much anymore but it still. You know hundreds of dollars cheaper than samsung galaxy funds beyond one plus and samsung another company that surprisingly flies under the radar is google right. It's it's a big name company but the pixel phones. Have not exactly been blockbuster devices. I believe one of the pixel phone is on your list. You talk about which phone that google makes people should be looking at. Yeah so. I think you're talking about pick so four eight five g. I've consistently recommended that phone since its release i like it. Because it is more affordable than the five the pixel five which is its main flagship. But you get a lot of the same features it still has. It has the same camera as a five. So it has great. Low like <hes>. Low light photos and it has a soffer support from google. And it's also has five g which is what differentiates it from the pig soul for a that was <hes>. Also released so that would be all the pixel phones that were released this year. I do like the four eighty five g the most just because it's cheaper than the five but has many of the same features so most of those flagship phones we're talking about the pixel five twelve. They're they're eight hundred dollars closer to one thousand dollars. If you're looking to spend that much like you. Does anyone actually need to spend a thousand dollars on a new phone. I mean you can definitely spend that much if you want you know phones. That cost that much are usually faster. They have longer less batteries and have great cameras. But i feel like this year compared to last compared to yours past. We've seen so many great phones that are priced below thousand dollars. You could find something great for four hundred dollars to six hundred dollars. I do think. Fund companies were reactive to the spending behavior of twenty twenty and how people for being a little bit more cost conscious and they and they <hes>. Reacted to that. With a appropriately priced phones. That have been way more aggressive but still have premium teachers. And what if you're shopping for kids or parents amid this may be the same line of conversation. But you know for for folks who don't necessarily need all those layers in bells and whistles of. Are there any other phones that you suggest for them. That may be even a step down from some of the ones you talked about earlier definitely as it again. A motorola makes a lot of inexpensive phone so i would look towards their e line of funds the moto e six i believe is you know starts at one hundred dollars and that's something that you can get unlocked <hes>. By the way if you are giving phone as a gift. I do recommend buying an unlocked. Phone it's probably the quickest and easiest way to go about it since you just have to swap existing some card and you're ready to go so that would kind of with that line of phones. The moti line would definitely be something. I would look out for this. Holiday season is a phone. Even a gift anymore is that is that too personal of a device for you to go out and actually get for someone. I sure why not. I totally don't disagree with receiving a phone as a gift. I think it's perfectly as long as you go about it the right way. Make sure that's what they're it matches the needs that they want and <hes>. And you look very closely at all the fine print in terms of carrier contracts and stuff like that. I think it would be a great gift.

"To take steps towards that day and one of those steps is to to act as though you own yourself and act as though you are free person because if more people did that then there wouldn't be really anything they could do about it. There's only so many jail cells. I do consider myself to be a free person. The law that i want to follow. I follow because. I think it's generally a good idea anyway. Putting on a seatbelt. I generally don't wear a seatbelt. Because i drive a convertible and if i get into a bad enough accident i'm going to die anyway. Let me a seatbelt testing on. Save me when the cloth top you know is what on the road and the cars upside down so well. That presumes you flip upside down. But but at any rate not stealing from people not killing people. I don't do those things. Not because they're illegal. What because i want to do those things. But if the government says something illegal like shrooms or whatever. I'm going to go ahead and do those anyway so the law to me is already inconsequential. I'm already free yeah. The government disagrees. I i like that idea. Like i live as free as i possibly can but i do know that there are men with guns out there who may take issue site and men with robes in the case of the new jersey. Jim the attila's jim that has been heroically disobeying. The governor's orders there for since the beginning in new jersey at that. Yeah and that's scary hampshire. new jersey. new hampshire isn't as scary of a place to do this stuff like the. I would expect this kind of stuff in new hampshire. But it's not happening here. I know everyone's so obedient. Yeah the gym. In this particular case has been flouting the the uh various different orders over the entire time and so finally an aug story here from law three sixty dot com judge superior court judge robert thi lao. He granted one hundred and thirty. Four thousand dollar judgement against the men. Ian smith and frank trim betty the owners of tillis. Jim who the judge said. He doesn't agree with their argument that the government is to provide a scientific basis for forcing businesses to close. Even i don't care what their scientific bases you know. I'll do what i want. I would rather them provide the legal justification for forcing a business to close. I don't think they can provide that. Well they're legal justification is they have emergency order statutes that. Give the governor the ability to do anything. He wants so the unconstitutional executive until ruled unconstitutional. By the the men in robes. It's legal. that's why it is so obviously unconstitutional as challenge right. That's the system now. So the judge chastise them saying that. They should have challenged the order by appealing. It not through defiance appeal and executive order. There's no mechanism in place to do that. There isn't you're absolutely right. Quote well defended has decried a lack of due process during the courts all too frequent involvement in this matter dependent has failed until most recently to avail itself of the processes available to it as of right unquote said the decision from judge. Lau hey i get it. The judge is upset that he didn't give the governor's order due process. That the gym didn't you mean. Yeah right citing new jersey court rules for challenging agency. Decisions in the appellate division quote and defendants legal arguments do not and cannot obscure. It's ongoing violation of this court's orders. He said the judgement breaks down to one hundred. Twenty three thousand nine hundred eighty one dollars in sanctions and ten thousand. Four hundred eighty one dollars in counsel fees for the state so they're demanding that the belmar jim pay for the state's attorneys in this case if the belmar based facility continues its defiance it will have to pay fifteen thousand four hundred and ninety seven dollars and seventy six cents for each day. It remains open according to the decision. Well it doesn't look like they're closed so it's been since. This was august nineteenth that this story was written so that's a lot of fine two whole months since that time. I mean eventually they're going to get hit with three more are those set stein's already got hit with contempt of court. I mean they're going to get hit again. I suspect you're right about that. The court noted that smith and from betty have been vocal about their insistence on remaining open as evidenced by their public statements and social media posts. One up smith's instagram videos depict the duo knocking down a barrier that had been placed around the gym by the state to block entrance which was heroic quote as established by plaintiff as memorialized and celebrated by defendants owners on social media posts referenced plaintiff's application and has tacitly acknowledged by defendant in its opposition defended continues to facilitate an host such prohibited activity in a willful and konta macy's manner. Do you wanna kill dozer. Because this is a kind of crap that gets that level it really is was just thinking. They're probably going to need some sort of bulldozer to actually break down. This new barricade. Well they must have broken it down because it's november in there oh path. The battle began in federal court with attila's may lawsuit alleging. The governor shutdown of non essential businesses ran afoul of civil rights laws as well as the due process and equal protection clauses of the fifth and fourteenth amendments. The us constitution in june. The gyms clem claims moved to state court where murphy and health officials already had an action pending over their refusal to close. The men remained open. Like everyone else must do their part and follow the law as we've said before we're in the middle of a global pandemic yet these. Oh well they keep saying so he keeps saying it. But i mean if you if you go outside and you look around the fact that you know people have appeared to be afraid. There's no indication of a pandemic at all. I'm not saying it doesn't exist. I heard from a business owner today. That he's got cove it sure and i asked him how you. How are you feeling. He said he's fine. Yeah i'm not surprised. I mean it's it's such a trivia quiz he is. It's such a trivial nonsensical thing. I mean people aren't getting sick. They're not dying the streets. This is not the black plague here no. I don't know why people are treating it like it. Is i mean the death rate is like one point one percent or something like that is the united states and i'm sure that's point one percent of the population that point that i didn't that sucks but you it's not worth shutting down people's lives over life for the living not the ones who are dead agree pete on are believing what they're being told in. They're not using their own senses. They're not using their own experience. They're rejecting their own experience. And they're only looking at what the media and the government is is telling them gotta turn out that tv dudes. That's what's driving all of this fierce the television so tells you what to think and how to feel and he's very very good at it. The attorney general says we've said before we're in the middle of global pandemic. These defendants have defied multiple court orders designed to protect the public. We hope that today's order puts an end to this dispute. I don't think it did though. Apparently not jim attorney. John mccain top three sixty gyms in neighboring states are allowed to open and the judge's decision is very limited its scope. He said an email quote clearly. The state has no evidence. Jim is at public health. Danger otherwise they would have publicly promoted the evidence in this proceeding to support their claws are their case. Clients have stated publicly. If the state can demonstrate attila's. Jim is unsafe or as compared to other businesses. They would not allow people to visit their jim. He said so far. Nineteen thousand. Visitors agree with their view. Some some ultimately we are ultimately at some point. We'll get to the science standing up for constitutional rights is not easy in a climate of fear smith and somebody's bravery is something. This country is lacking right. Now he said and he's absolutely right about that so now we take it to today so this was released actually actually today just before the show started so this is about the most recent update also from law. Three sixty dot com. It says here that the judge again references the hundred and thirty four thousand dollars judgment in august in a november eighteenth order publicly released today. The judge denied the gyms request for a stay in the case civil case that is for one hundred thirty four thousand while the criminal matters are resolved in belmar municipal court. The judge did not explain the reasons for the denial in the brief order and the new jersey office of the attorney general counsel for the gym didn't respond to requests for comments. The definitely, the tainted comedy, the the. The off season will be interesting for them based off of kind of what Rhonda is GonNa do, and so I, mean, they was great for them in the playoffs. Lived up to not like unbelievably. But commonly up to what people wanted a at what people expected that Casey could probably during the pile. And he totally smashed people's sort of hopes and dreams like expandable and just the surrounding cost I think the Kuzina cues most interesting wants to save. He'll be moved on on because there's a few rumblings and rumoring. Potentially quasi teams interested in UNATTRACTIVE QUIET ATTRACTIVE CONTRACT And in a different team in a different style could potentially be these important score for side. Just in this like is taking. It's not really watch out for him probably as the woman's it, Danny Green well, Bethany hasn't worked out that the Lakers would wanted But with that being said, so old, it's the. Ain't broke. Don't fixes or five as well because I mean if that went into chip, I know quantity I didn't thought. They wanted to but. You can't. Really. this team has an issue because I just won the championship. Yeah. But I will say when you do look at that team. You could make the rest of those players fits. You could get some people to make that team fit so much better with Youtube Star you've got I know they won the title. But the you talk about cruise. I think couzens good Playa but I don't think he's the greatest fit. In the lakes moments if I was like I would look to get something for him I think that you can put better role players around them to as well as the scary as you said because you know they did win the title so. Can you ready? Saito much against them but you look at the and they can definitely improve it. So as a scary thought for the rest of the lake. Yeah I was GonNa say I, feel like now after proved themselves to be like the. Title favorites like the person you draw in the team you draw in any way I felt like a lot of veterans who may be a little bit wary before will be like. Amping Up Your Productivity
"Okay. So every single day, the very, very good for to the honor and the privilege to work with a lot of people. I think last week ahead eighteen nineteen appointments on my calendar Chat with folks all of the world. Personal Development Business building all kinds of cool things that we do. But you it always comes down to one thing. Now. Nobody ever wants to hear this it I if I do podcasts on productivity like I am today everybody wants to hear that. But when they call him for coaching, they don't want that they want to strategy an idea on Scott. Tell me what to do. Let's go go go go. I should just finally start with productivity because they always get back around see. Here's what happens. They come, they want the to get the roadmap ready to go. Got Too excited it to make it happen. Then Scott, I couldn't do it. I ran out of time I don't know what happened. I. Guess I should work on my productivity I'm like yeah okay. So I know this now I think starting today every single client who comes in the door is GonNa Start Productivity I can make sure we can get the work done make the space right? So the here's what happens. The day runs out and you have so many to choose on your list and do you get to the into your day and you still have a lot of to do's and they're probably pretty the probably growing rapidly like rabbits. And they are for a couple of reasons. One major reason is people keep them on a computer with recurring events these days they just keep adding up you never get rid of him until the day you die and I'm not sure they stop after that somebody has to clean her mass, right? But getting what you want life. Is often blocked by simple habits that are getting in your way now there to that everybody misses let's rush through these because there is one that's vitally important I'll do it afterwards you gotta wait we got to build the foundation here. Okay. Number One the first super productivity super charger is to understand the tomorrow. Begins Today. So it's ten o'clock in the morning today on a Monday and you're you're in your day you here you go. If you take a few minutes today to look at tomorrow and think about it it's GonNa Change. Your world. Aspects that sounds like something I already. Do I know I know but we have to get to the other two before you're really gonNA understand what to do with that. But if you just take off racing through your week into never about what's coming up the next day and what you're, GonNa do with it. It's just going to go crazy you're going to get dragged around. Athens doesn't it? So, planning ahead, really vital to setting path to use desired outcome the next day. So what happens next you get out of bed you're ready to go. You got your morning thing happened, right? You'RE GONNA sit down you're gonNA. Ground Yourself. Before you get too busy. Take just a few minutes. I don't care if you got the office walk in the office and the very first thing you do. Is Look at your machine in front of you. You're a piece of paper whatever it is and go ah gay here I am. I know. I. Thought About this yesterday. But now let me look at today's plan again. and. I want you to reaffirm was to be done. Reaffirm. Sorry my voice crack didn't. reaffirmed. What has to be done today now you did it yesterday. Now you're GonNa do it today and I want you to kind of look at it from this angle what must be done today if you didn't get these things done today, we really bad these have to happen everything else can kind of be off to the side. This is one of the things that I talked to clients. I tell them listen you're only going to get three to. Six things done a day I usually three big deal she I might do a thousand things, but there's only three important things are going to happen today. That's it. Maybe a phone call email talk to somebody whatever it's going to be is only three. If you look at your day today and say, there are three things that have to happen today if they don't world's not going to have to delegate it to somebody else that's all there is to it. If you do that today and then take breath and hang on for the ride and get through it and stay true to yourself all day. You will be amazed what happens. Now we know we've looked at it the day before, and then we got up in the morning we grounded herself We thought about it. Okay. This is what I'm going to do but you know what? I'm just going to go up and it's GonNa fall apart again I know it's going to happen and is why is that? Why can't I I'M SMART I know this I've listened to eight, thousand, nine, hundred, seventy, two podcasts I read the Book David Allen. I can't understand this complicated system and it seems like it should work for me to buy you do. All right. You're right Scott train today. So come on I'll tell you what to do. So here's the thing. Here's a Scott logic kicking right some people call it common sense. I don't think it's a little bit different. See I just one day reasons something. Scott Logic, told me this? There are what I call non optional activities that take place throughout the course of a day. and. It takes up way more time than you think. Not optionals like taking care of personal needs eating drinking sleeping, taking a shower shaving and the other things that people say in those rhymes about would you do in the morning? How about commuting in a car if you're still commuting. How about not being able to get on a log on zoom call or a a Webex thing is messing with you how much somebody walking your office. If you still have an office in bothering your for a few minutes, they won't do their job they're having you do their job. How does somebody calling her texting e-mailing you all day long this stuff. Happens doesn't it? How about the kids needing some help? How maybe you didn't sleep last night and your little tired today album maybe you're on a diet and you don't have as much energy as you wanted to have how about maybe have a warrior about some money maybe you can't pay your mortgage next month a lot of that going on right now. Out these little things that are going on, do you think possibly these things will ever go away in your life? Now. It's naive if you think it is I'm sorry Scott Logic says, oh, come on be nice to them. They could go way not really there's always going to be non optionals. These are GONNA be pop up events they're gonNA come on your life some of listen you know you have to eat every day you know you should be exercising. You know things are GonNa happen I am not telling you anything that you don't already know you already know it. So why in God I'm sorry I shouldn't say why would you even think about? Getting. Up and doing planner and do a schedule. I can get through my day without any of these not options you can for about three hours and you're going to to go pee. It's GonNa take your time. The older you get the longer, it takes just the truth. Okay.

"Over the past few years, coaching, small business owners were in the country. One of the things that I've learned. Is that y'all do not lack intensity folks. Passion is kind of the price of admission. If you WANNA, start a lead and own your own business so I don't doubt your passion, but what I've seen is that the difference maker between business owners that fail and those that succeed is that the ones who succeed the ones who win at the highest level are the ones who have a plan for consistently executing on the things that matter most over an extended period of time, and that begs the question what matters most from the Ramsey network. This is the entreleadership podcast. podcast where we help business leaders grow themselves their teams in their profits. I'm your host Alex Jones and today we get to sit down with two of our senior leaders. Here at Entree Leadership Daniel Tardy, and Sarah slowing and I am so excited because they're going to walk you. The small business owner through the things that we have identified here at Entree leadership matter most for your organization, we call them the six drivers of business success, and if you're going to grow as a leader as a team and as a business, you're going to have to focus on all six of them now six drivers, it sounds super simple, but just like most things it is far from easy. Alex remember the first time that I started learning about business. I started hearing from my dad and my granddad. These different phrases that were busy phrases. You know things like a pnl an income statement. Sales and marketing revenue, and you know. I think businesses such a fascinating world, but it's also really complicated because there's all these words these. These different ways of doing business, and then you get to hear most businesses fail. Crap how they feel. And how do you make sure you don't fail? And you start learning about it and you kind of get excited to explore this this world, but then you also realize it's Pandora's box and adjust keeps going, and there's so much infinity when it comes to what it takes to win in business, and that was the backdrop of what. What I stepped into a leadership role in business for the first time, essentially going there so much here, it's so confusing it so overwhelming I'm going to do my best I got a few things figured out, but I still feel like there's something about blind spot. That's going to take me out and I. Don't really know what to focus on and so. The key with all of this is, we have figured out the business actually. Isn't that complicated? We just make it complicated and we spend a lot of time with Dave with our leadership team, and looking at our journey, and looking at thousands of customers that we've worked with and we've said. What's true with all these businesses? That's making them work. And we figured out as it's really about six simple things that if you'll focus on these six things, you're GonNa win, and you actually don't have to worry about anything else. And so we took this very complicated. Overwhelming space that for people like me tend to feel intimidated with how much complexity there is and go. Let's just put the cookies on the bottom shelf and go. What are we really talking about here? And I know the last time we had a conversation here. We talked about those different stages that we've really realized every small business including our own goes through from the treadmill all the way to the peak performer, and ultimately the legacy builder, and it seems like Sarah that there's kind of like this option of like you can either wander through those stages on your own, or you can follow a guided path, and it seems like the. The Path is the better option for the business owner. I mean it's my preferred option. Just because I feel like if I can get to where I'm wanting to go faster, because someone else has forged the way and can say hey, here are the key milestones. There's a reason why I don't usually take all the back roads when I'm trying to get somewhere. Fast I like all the back roads when I've got the luxury of kind. Kind of you know if I'm just trying to see the sights, but if I'm if my purpose is getting somewhere, then I want to get there. You know as efficiently as possible. So yeah I'd love having kind of a roadmap and signs that I'm on the right path for those things and I would even argue you don't really wonder from the treadmill to the Pathfinder to the trailblazer most people if they don't focus on the six. Six areas. They never actually get off the treadmill. You know so. It's not just a matter of. Do you want to get there faster slow, or do you want to take the long way or the short way? Unfortunately, if you stay on the treadmill and you don't focus on these areas, one of them will become your blind spot or your Achilles heel and cause you to stay on the treadmill so long that eventually you collapsed satistics. Happens with small businesses who stay on the treadmill and it's not even necessarily that the business fails. It's you are then you're lifestyles threaten. Most of these folks start their business for freedom. You know they don't want to answer to other people. They want to go to their kids. Soccer Games they WANNA make money to be able to afford to vacations and if they stay on. On that treadmill. They never actually get to do those things and it's crazy. Sometimes, it's like unfortunately will coincide with business. Owners will meet them when they are sick and tired of being sick and tired, and it's like I'm just so fed up with being trapped by the thing that I built and it sounds like what this path is about. Yes, totally yeah, I mean I. I feel sad when I hear that because I know so many business owners. They believe that there's a better way that's why they started, but use the word feeling trapped by the thing they started. You know and it's very normal for small business owner to end up in that spot where they feel trapped. They feel desperate. They feel hopeless and so our goal with creating this framework and observing and researching. What does it really take to win and business is to take that business owner who's feeling trapped and starting to wonder if they have what it takes and give them a clear guided plan that says if you'll just focus on these things you're gonNA. GonNa win because what happens. Is that business owners starts thinking. They're the problem and they don't have what it takes. They're not cut out for it in the truth is like they probably are a lot better than they feel like they are. They just need a clear plan so that if they follow the plan, they combine that with their driving their ingenuity, and then they're off to the races and

Kathy Bates discusses her Oscar nominated movie 'Richard Jewell'
"This is popcorn where we tell you what's happening at the movies and there's a great movie for you to see right now called Richard Jewel based on a true story but my guest today Kathy Athey Bates who you know from so many things I could mention them but then the show would be over because she has too many credits too many awards but she plays the title character's actors mother in this and she will break your heart six ways from Sunday. But today we're GonNa be having fun are absolutely welcome to the first time you've done done. This popcorns yours get no no. I've lost sixty pounds in managed to keep it off the last three or so I've been on. They sell popcorn pretty okay at least and we're smelling as Peter Stocks. The top doing this so you just got of course all the awards you have. Now you have a new nomination as best supporting actress for Richard Jewel for me. Ah The best award for this movie has been the fact that bobby jewel richards mom who's still alive Loves the movie. Because if she didn't now I know Gosh 'cause in the movie you know how she got Tom Brokaw. I know I know I know. We don't want her to be getting mad. Now you know and also You know there have been Statues in Centennial Park and young and Billy Payne who brought the Olympics to Atlanta. And finally there's going to be a a plaque with Richard's name and what did he say. Oh well that's a good thing should set that up or you should. Why should I work really really? Yeah that's it no Richard Jewel. That's the name of the movie. Clint Eastwood directed at but a true story. Can you tell us a little about Richard J. Just absolutely Richard had been a cop for a few years and then resigned or was fired depending on how you look at it. And then he we went to become a guard at at A college nearby and he got leftover the the thing with Richard that I found so tragic about this whole story story is that he was this hyper vigilant person. Ever since he was a kid at nine of the police the police even as a kid eight in church he wanted to help people And even in Turkey would run around and make sure everybody had a program and then later on when he was a cop he carried like one one hundred thirty pound you know battering Ram but he also had beanie babies for the kids who he might find who had been in accidents so he could give him he was is just this generous simple humble kind man who wanted to help everybody and it was that vigilance that Helped him in his job. He was hired to be a security guy for the Olympics. They were calling everybody in and he was at the sound and light tower and and he'd gone off to the restroom and he came back and there was a bench there and he noticed right away there was what they call an Alice. Pack this big military pack the officious very suspicious and so he told the sit idle like that and they say oh. Come on Richard he said no no I have a bad feeling and they so they brought in the bomb guys and he described it that the the guy went underneath and looked at it and then he just froze and he just back very slowly out and he told his buddy to turn turn a cell phone off and they tried to get everybody back as many people back but through a series of mishaps and nine one one calls and not being able to get in touch touch with people Eric Rudolph who actually planted the bomb and was not caught until like six years later Had this phone message You know there's going to be a bomb in Centennial Park in thirty minutes and thanks to Richard got all that is out of the tower. He was running up and down with doing everything everything a hand and suddenly he became this hero in and then for three days three days and his mother was all got that three day. Yeah my mom his his mom he's on TV. He's bets right he's on. TV is the hero of the day if CNN wanted to talk to him and what turned out was there was a leak from the FBI to Cathy scruggs at the Atlanta Journal Constitution and they decided to break the story and overnight they everybody turned against him and said he was the he was the guy he exempts Mama Except Momma. She was there for him she was they were very very close. She had two miscarriages ages and Richard was her only child and Both his real dad and his step step dad banished from their lives for various. The reasons and So he was her child her boy you know and she knows she knows how he can be be overzealous knows the things that he shouldn't be doing. You trust the police so much too much that it cost him by they use. This is what was so cruel colon. I remember when I started out working with Clint. We were all there to meet with him and I said why do you want to do this movie. And he said because I think it's an American tragedy and he said this is a story that people need to see Jon Hamm was down in Atlanta and people said well what are you doing down here. And he said Oh it's about the bombing and Oh yeah that guy. Richard Jewell who was the bomber summer. Because there's some suspicion and for eight days without any evidence People camped out you know media the FBI suspected in even when they brought him in for his first interview they already had a cell for him. Yeah we like him for this. That's what they always say. Yeah because the public. Everybody's demanding to know who did this. There's that desire. Why are to get somebody up there and say he did it well? There were millions and millions of dollars resting on this because of the Olympics and they had to get it sorted say it's nineteen ninety-six on this is happening so we weren't even in the big cellphone period of the everything was just taking off and don't forget we'd had waco the Federal Building we had Ruby Ridge. We had ninety three Truck Bombing World Trade Center so it was the beginning of the new normal ordinarily of this terrorism. And and it's that going. That's that seesaw. From we love you to stay away from us. I think that the real tragedy and I'm sure that this is what bobby default is that the very quality that enabled him to find that bomb his vigilance. They turn that into a liability And they beat him up with it that to me I think is just the tragedy of all. We'll one amazing scene that you have among renting in this is when bobby went on national. TV making a plea to President Clinton at the time yes to see what's happening and do something for some. Yes so let's look a little bit attack okay. My son is innocent. Richard is not the Olympic the big park bomber. He saved people's lives. Please hear me Mr President and help me. My son is a hero. If they do not intend to charge my son. You please tell us. Please tell the world Mr President. Please clear heartbreaking. Breaking it is is really is. I don't know how many times you had to do that. Well actually we got it in the first take. That's so clint into eastwood is fresh and real. Whenever I've been on a set of this it's always let's move on now but you know people say that the do said I J do when you're always think it's going to be quick but it's not that he takes his time and he leaves it open and it so efficient that he doesn't need need to do more than a couple of takes? Is this your first time with Clint Eastwood. Absolutely absolutely what was that like was a nervous wreck I was a nervous wreck. Check it I I and I think we all were because we all wanted to just I mean we all WanNa do our best all the time. But when you're with someone like client or Mike Nichols just you really and I think we also felt a real responsibility to bobby she survived. Of course she's still alive. And and Richard passed away ten years later he was thirty three when this happened and He got some money CNN NBC you know. They sued them and but the Atlanta Journal Constitution never accepted responsibility for it and the real. FBI Guy who's played by. I Jon Hamm went to his grave saying this guy did it. We see that teen in the movie where he says I still think yeah even when somebody else has confessed knowing it. That's the kind of thing. Well it's a movie that is pretty hard basically on the media and on the feds. It's really saying that in a world where we're supposed to trust certain things we've lost it you know that was nineteen ninety. Six things are worse now. Well and I think it's important to realize is that they just got it wrong and they were in such a rush to try and say the Olympics. That had really. This was only the second day I think it'd be Olympics and and So that was really driving it. And I don't WanNa paint it with two broader brush because look more than ever we need the truth from the press more than ever we I need the truth from the FBI. You know the government we depend on those institutions so that was very specific to this case and I hope people people don't feel that we're just trying to malign those institutions. What does Clinton do when after take? He's happy with it. Well this is what I love of about him and and I didn't realize this is that he just lets the camera. Keep going and we just keep going The scene may be done. I mean our lines. May It'd be done. But we just keep improvising and just continuing to live in that situation and he gets a lot of great stuff that he can use and it's also an opportunity for us to have more time together to experience the chargers together especially nowadays when you don't have rehearsal time you're you'd have your as my friend. Jessica Tandy God rest or used to say your kitchen work nowadays. You have to do your kitchen or in your kitchen you know at at home alone so it's great to have that it's been working. Well when he was when Clinton was here last he was saying that he hates movies. Where the director will say? Hey you know because he said I'm really quiet about it. I just go go when you're ready when you're ready. Just do something I also heard about. I don't know if this is is apocryphal. Or not was when he was doing Spaghetti Westerns and they would scream action the worst would at all also in TV. You know it's just also crazy. The and I think that's when he he developed his style he thought you know. Wait a minute. Everybody's just rushing in and getting it wrong and rushing and getting it wrong again and he just wanted to keep it real simple simple. He says when you're ready people going like this and I remember the first time adequate seen merge running downstairs in Iran into the sound guy who are really liked and I was was trying to speak French Dami said and I thought I thought the scene was over. You know and then that's when I realized it's not over till it's over it until he says it's yeah that's got it he also has. Can I just say he has an amazing cameramen Stephen Campanella he's he's been with them for twenty five years like many of the people on the crew. It's like a family and he just knows how to tell that story with the camera and one of my favorite shots and Clint's to win when the FBI are there. And you see Richard putting his blue gloves on and we've been telling him and telling them not to help the police and then it pans over to salmon. I just standing there looking at him. Like he's never gonNA stop. You know you just wants to throttling. But whatever he's doing he's doing great eighty nine now. Yeah he's still sexiest. Hell you go see. And you've turned that he is. He is sexy telling you. Imagine what it'd be like when he's ninety at like good wine. Everything is perfect to do. Well you you've worked with so many people you know Mike Nichols and primary primary colors. He's somebody I missed tremendously. He's not only a great director but he's just one of the smartest most fun people people that ever lived on this earth. Yeah I agree I remember. I was at an awards thing I think it was the EMMYS and and I lost you know and like about half an hour later. I get this text for Mike. Saying you're among one of my favorite actors I've ever worked with and I thought well that's it dude. I know it's like how lovely of him to do that. In that moment it is but he was right well he was well. It was one of the high points of my life to work with him. I and with that

"And a little bit of that time of year. Magic is not there as has much 'cause like should I almost forgot. Christmas was happening this this month me to like literally a few days ago. Why why am I going out there so soon? Soon because like I'm going out to California. She had the twenty third. That's two days from Christmas The only thing I'd say so I guess I'd say like it's a little overrated. I stood up at the time of year. But it's just it's all for the whole month then it's just kind of last one day and then it kind of just over. What was it like like Like when we were growing China you mentioned that these guys didn't do the gifts nope Not Not we did gifts for Kwanza never believed in San Antonio that kind of stuff enough growing up like my parents my dad especially. He doesn't like Christmas like he doesn't like those kinds of holidays. He'll you know he'll he'll because he's just like like it's just you know commercialist bullshit. He'll in like you know everyone around him is enjoying it so he'll be there and he'll be enjoying it but he never wanted wanted wanted to celebrate Christmas with us so we would do Kwanza when I was really young. It was five because like I went to this Private school when I was really young I was like all black it kind of private school. So we would celebrate Kwanza at School for the whole week and like come in every day and have like a different special show or some shit. I don't really remember but It was cool like I think when I have kids I'd probably I know I'd rather do Kwanza then Christmas. 'cause like a weeklong celebration so it lasts for a little bit longer and then the last day where we get our gifts which which is new year's Day so it coming I.

"So all they want is money and it's like that takes the fun out of it for me. 'cause I I'm I'm I'm a gift giver. I love like giving things and seeing especially when they phase and making people feel good about things So it's like when you just ask him for money. He's like taking the fun out of Christmas so at this point like because they're getting older that's all he wanted this one give cars and money and Shit Dude you give them that or do you still just go out and gifts so now or stem to take because I like fucking with kids like now. I'll give him a prank gives so that makes me laugh Our like what do we do to Oh so my daughter wanted a phone ten or whatever so I found out Naomi's Oh oh six or whatever. She had like a six where she had a plus the plus. It's bigger so wrapped up around the alcohol and I wanted to see her face Razali. Yoke because it's better than the phone she has. It's just not attend. You could see her basis was like oh man but but what I did is the rate. Of course. Those phone wasn't in there. I just put the money the phone. Oh Damn about my parents do initial reaction was just like oh great fast. I think I recorded it. I'M GONNA have to start but you could just tell she didn't want to. She didn't want a minute but you can see all of her face disappointment. Like oh thank you you know like whatever it just knowing man yes so yeah I do see like that but then we found creative ways to do Money like we did like the money. Rowsell ever seen anybody do that. Where like a box and then like I get like safe is one hundred dollars? I did one hundred ones and pull it out or whatever so they liked doing that. So that's yeah. That was Kinda. Aww Fun last year like we did that. A couple times.

"Wrong. Yeah you you cross breed now you yes. Jerry Jones Overdue I can't have from our frontal from ear to ear and then I'm like just a piece that you don't actually actually have like your real hair out still but you can't like if you pull this part of the Chicago Theatre. Frontal is worse no frontal well it depends on what you want. A frontal is is better if you want to do more to your hair parted everywhere and do all that but a closer is just like you. The part of right here right here right here. You can't be doing all this sideshow. Gotcha yeah what do you mean like on your head or you gotta take a delicate. I know you know you can do both hangers for their weeks. Wait physical sound really. Don't understand this is. My sister doesn't wear these mom sister probably does she just lie anyway. So a WIG league is not A. We've though no so so you decide what you get thrown on. So wh- wig on up. So yes so I no. It's still away because it's one unit a we've is like chunks of hair that you're just a we've is like you have tracks and then you put the trash onto your braided. Aided hair whereas a wig just you can take it. Off and sit it on a mannequin. You can't take a sewing off quote unquote and sit on the mannequins. Just GonNa be a whole shitload of bundles everywhere. So Oh and to change the weed killer Harold Keller. Wouldn't it more be like the weed killer because if you're doing hair you're gonNA freak out if the whole thing comes up like oh it's just a wig no big deal but if you're calling chunk comes like Oh shit. I just put a chokehold more women do we used in. I would say right zone. I know but I'm saying a I so it seems like you would be a little bit more upset. If just a chunk came outburst the whole thing right. Yeah because that would scare the fuck Outta me really really if I were about like. Oh my God oh no not even that like I. I feel like a lot of situations. Well I've heard guys like when may like are having sex with chicks who have gone and that's it comes off they'll just put on their head and just keep going. That is not gotTa stop moment. Unless something's going on your head like way like if she looked like fucking Freddie Krueger under her wig already has like a crazy smell or she got I boss right now the snow not a good as it just some some women not all women they. They'd be wearing a Dan. We too damn long. Yeah Yeah and that Shit Mildew and yeah no no no doubt they'll do up under there. Yeah so they're trying to save money and keep today. It'd be like green and not like mold not bill. Mildew has a caller to their actual hair they glue centers glue Lou. Where's the glue glues on the on the front? So that's delay the frontal now laments to you please. Basically they'll braid your hair like like in his big circle around around.

"What are y'all doing we? We aren't enough coverage Abbott Darn kidnap real. I in black kids right so but but yeah I shout not out to the mall. 'cause man when she saw she fought she russell sad yes she fought like hell and I commend her for that Peru threw her to the groggy. McMahon those nations. You feel being that. In that moment. She chased the car. But she's trying to chase the car and she was trying to Black Panther offer on the video is really sad. I thought I was like. Oh they gotta find on this girl got to find this girl but they found her all right. Your whole thing was fake. Did she come back or did they. She came back the stories that I'm seeing again on Sunday. He came back and admitted that the entire thing was fake because it went viral or something. I don't go back. See those details that I wish we knew. We don't know them yet. 'CAUSE my mind I'm thinking like why didn't you just have somebody else find you and split the reward money I would have done. You came back three rule. We've off half of that could have got you here you front. I know a frontal is can ask out. I've never heard referring in reference to a we. What's a frontal a we've so full? Frontal nudity is like in a movie. No a frontal is like that okay so like you can have a closure piece like which was just. It's like right here like it would stop right here but then on yours but this is my real hair take now but yeah so it's like something like some of the parts stopped like right here and then they do like the rest around it but our frontal is when it goes from one ear to the other so it's takes extra detail well it takes like an actual breach high. Where's your bridge robbery let's see. Nobody's shit wrong is wrong. Yeah you you cross breed now you yes..

"I've definitely heard that if it's true or not Boga could be a complete room. I think that's good. I don't think she said I think other people are saying it's a certain narrative yeah so our Sophie wasn't here last week when I brought it up. What's what's your over all thoughts on it? I guess I think that the support that he's giving to his the sun is Like an overwhelming amount of love. And I think that that's something that we should strive to be as far as parents or aunts uncles or you know just like supporting children in general. I think a lot of times when people think of like children Being being like Intersex or like transgender. It's automatically like your three years old. I'm not pumping you up with hormones to become the other you know like that type of thing when but I think it's not necessarily that shouldn't be the focus of it. I think the focus should just be let me be the best parent that I can be so that you feel open enough to talk to to me about whatever you're feeling and if at some point later you do WanNa make transition then. Maybe we can discuss that. You know like to me as a mom. If you know I had a child I would just be like well if I if you're really eight years old and you're like I really want this. I really want that. I remember being younger and like wanting to hit puberty. You know what I'm saying like I like and I think that I could be wrong. I think that maybe their version of what they see like how they see themselves in wanting to grow into what they see themselves. Ask so I wouldn't get my eight year old cities you know what I'm saying like you know like I just wouldn't do that but if you know when like you're still on the same Trajectory and we've been open and honest and talking about it and you've been consistent with feeling like this after you know sixteen or seventeen. I have the means to like you know. Make you feel more confident being the gender that you identify with. I think we can have that discussion. I think I also will say that. These conversations are a lot easier. You're said than done and I think it's it's something that if you do struggle with that it's kind of like as a parent it's like look down upon you know especially. Don't ever talk about that. That should on social media. You're going to be like hit over the head with it you know like why is it that hard for you shouldn't be hard for you. You're the parent they're the one that's going through. It is fucking hard. You know what I'm saying. I think it's something that it's a valid feeling to feel like Goddamn like I've never dealt with this but I also think it's well it's not about final line either. I mean I think that feeling as an adult is valid but I also think that you shouldn't take that feeling and you know have at transition until like abuse of the child or not listening to them or kicking them that to me is fucked up too so I think you should feel what you feel but I think you should kind of you know overcome everything as far as like listening listening to your child and just being open with them and I think that's what we're seeing in the situation so yeah I think it's just very often conflicted with how can you transition at seven. You're not even really you know I get that but I think that's kind of like misinformation like hey I want titties at nine years old. It's just hey I'm feeling these feelings. What do I do with it? You know and talking them through that. I think one of the one of the things brought up last week is like what if it's a situation where they getting bullied for the decisions that they've made like you know they're you know dressing you know cross dressing and stuff like that and now. They're getting bullied and now they feel the press. Like how. How do you handle that as a parent at that point you still like? How do you handle it as a period point I'll fucking no because much for anything regularly garden up period like I feel like that would just be the same type of thing I think it may be harder for some parents some parents to stand up for that when you low key in some way or another disagree with it and I don't think I think it's a very fine line for those types of parents to at onto the pressure of bullying that they're feeling so for example if you never really felt comfortable with your child expressing this type of opinion but you're trying to go off the love that they're receiving name and then they get bullied for it and they come home expecting to confide in you and making them you know how like a safe space if you Loki agree with that? I feel like that may slip out. You know like think I don't know why they're willing you're saying but saying I'm just think seeing truly support okay. Yeah well I mean yeah. I think it would just just be like any other situation where you're bullying like you have conversations with people in the principal's office and say hey what classes you know. which student is doing mass? There's something that I can assist with. Do I need to get on board. Do I need to you know. Do something to prevent that situation. Because I want to be safe in school. You know what you should do. You brought this job and I'm being dead serious You should watch. The grassy is a certain season. Actually it's a couple seasons where there was a A transcript On the on the. I'm sorry transplant. Boy Excuse me not to mail. I don't remember this trend situation. Did you watch I watch. I think all Adam drew Taurus's little brother Cher was born as Washington believe emily maybe. But Adam Trans transitioned and female to male and want people joke about grassy mainly because of drake. But I've said this before Degrassi did an amazing job with showing wing realities that happen to kids in high school. It was like whether it be concerning race sex meaning intercourse Pregnancy gender issues. It covers a lot of that but I think the Trans issue even for me who. I've tried to pay attention to that type of thing and try to understand it as much as possible. I honestly think watching how Adam art in the story It shows you a lot of what these kids go through so again again. It sounds like a joke but I'm really not joking There's like maybe two or three seasons that cover Adams Arc and I think that might give you some kind of insight. Do you think that arc doc is slightly different from Manson woman or oh two hundred percent here. Sounds like it was still give you an idea of how these kids feel when addams mom was still calling Adam the female name The dead name they call it and it it shows. Does this whole thing of of Adam going through this with with him trying to convince people that his feelings are real. He is a boy uh-huh and I'm sure it's different. It's probably worse. Yes Louis things a lot different than I think people for what I remember people were a lot more accepting of women that act like guys guys like growing up like I I rarely seen a problem with that because that's not threatening to men. Yeah other way is threatening. They actually like super cool with with the girl that acts like a god-like like one of the homeys or whatever like I've seen that but I just think it's a slightly different when you have a boy was a the different girl you know what I'm saying so I was doing the grassy I got you. I mean you know you saw for you but I mean I don't know I don't know how much that helps but I I definitely think that shows like degrassi. The throat were really helpful in understanding how transitioning works and especially being a Canadian show in the Mac. That is one of the only jobs I know of that even touch touch that topic. Gotcha people be clouded by my love. Degrassi I shows Green Huey like he wasn't here you were here wasn't on a pack as wish it does Well firstly I'm at a big disadvantage talking about this 'cause like I'm not a parent I'm young I'm straight am and I'm male And I I never. I'm just now starting to learn about this kinda stuff just through being like classes that I'm taking and stuff like that like this didn't really come up much when when I was growing up But you know how my opinion stands now. Because I'm still forming one and as I learn learn more and grow you know. I don't know much about Dwayne Wade. It's like the transition that his his son or daughter going through Transition Okay I kinda just kind of pick and choose from like what Sophian Qin said to where it's like. I think the best thing that you could do you is like where she said like have a conversation. What your child and let them know that whatever they're going through they can talk to you about it and then we'll try? I figure this out as we go along because I understand your concerns. It's like you don't want to make a decision or eight and making a decision and then if they regretted they may be looking at you like you did adduce and Blah Blah Blah but then also you want to make them as comfortable as possible while so it's tough. I don't know exactly what the right thing to do would be. Besides it's that and also how Ken said it's like that's their household their child if they're not hurting anyone a you know. They're doing what they're doing. And oh I think everyone's situation would be different like I don't know how to react if it was my son or daughter but the bottom line would just be to get them to explain to me what they're thinking and then or like how what they're going through and you know I support whatever's best for them really whatever I feel feel like we'll be best for them and we'll just come to that conclusion as time goes on but I think there's something to be said about like let's figure this out and you know wait until we get all all the necessary ingredients to make a decision. You don't want to jump the gun with stuff like this because this is very complicated in like lit quite literally life changing mhm things. So that's all I have to say right now. Coup which again Carol Sanchez's they heard about this. No really what what is it. So this is the girl who everyone thought she was being kidnapped. Oh Yeah Yeah. Yeah the name either. Amber amber alert in video surfaced of rolling up. I think it was like four guys right. Four do show up. They showed the mom to the ground on. They grab her they throw in a car and they take off so everyone was like bugging out. Like oh my God was happening. Got Find this girl and then it comes out that she fucking Jesse small the entire thing was bullshit. She was just trying to run away from home now. Now I've I've looked at multiple stories and I have yet to find her explanation for why she had to go about it this way or explanation as to y she came home but people are fucking livid about this. I mean for for a myriad of reasons like when you see the mom. I'm get shoved to the brownies. fucking heartbreaking but she said it was because her parents were strict her mama strict. I was hoping I was hoping it was more than that then again. Why did she come home then does she realize like yeah? I can't Jacobs now. People still thought it was real so she is in front of her mom. Who didn't know her? Bob Did not know you could tell the video because mom almost like a big older and the dude light through so I mean this was like terrifying for her mother but a lot the people were were looking at this like Yo. This is just as bad if not worse than the Justice Shit because there's.

"Himself Kofi through I spoke horrible. We slow most borough hall. My God You're disgusting Shit. He sat down and the second he sat down. I was like there's there's this whole flight I don't remember I just remember. He called applied attending because he would have had that part of the story. I didn't call the flattened because I didn't want to be an asshole. Yeah that's what my friend said to. Yeah it was just like what do you say I could tell he was not I would have just wheel person. If there was another seat available there must not have been probably would have moved. There must not have been and I don't give a fuck. I'm sitting in the back in the break room with can't do that regardless because you can't use no seatbelt. You can't go stand up back there. Victor factor in stand up in the break room there. That's the that's the flight attendants the standard chill and hold on a subway. uh-huh train you on the monitoring. Talk to a pole but yeah he sat in the. I was just like this isn't going to work. I can't fit here her so luckily I'm skinny so I sat and I just moved to the side. The worst part Bro. He set my seat belt. So I but I didn't call the fighting because I was like look. I don't want to write this guy feel bad. I didn't want the fighting to come over and be like. Hey sorry but I can't can't like this do is all in my seat but you don't do that but I didn't WanNa make it worse. I'm sure he was thinking this the whole way you probably just as uncomfortable zoo how. Ab He but he went to sleep so he couldn't have been out on my. I'm just saying that's probably why he went to sleep. Or whatever 'cause sleep his ass was tired. I'm just saying like in those situations. I think the I think the people who are just as comfortable as you wish but he was he was so large has appointed you had to turn La. Oh no my point is that I don't think he would have been offended. I think he would have been happy then. No I don't think he would have been happy if I say I can't sit next to this dude. Probably wanted to. It's Nice my I think. He felt the fact that his leg was on. When you're that big I don't think you feel all that? I'm not making a joke. I'm being dead serious but the fucked up thing is when I landed. That happened and then on the flight battle happened with a big woman. She wasn't as big as him but her leg was definitely like and crawl in mind. I was like no no no bounds early. Even more their ballots. I smell good. She didn't smell okay. I didn't smell anything. She sat down old woman. Old Church woman. Like Elizabeth tailored medicine not limit in mothballs though she had like that old lady perfume but yeah. That flight was not as has bad but the flight web buddy. I was just like so all this to say the long story I get it because I mean they have to look out for not just the bigger bigger people outside look out for people that are saying next I get it. It does sound fucked up. But at the end of the day you try sitting on a a long flight to Syracuse stuck next to someone that is extremely large and you have no room. I could see it. This was fucking Airtran Dan but it was delta. I'm usually straight on I was I was leaned all the way to my left at her. His his die. I just basically in the. I'll yeah because my cross my legs out to just have no literally. I kept looking at. You know like you see this. Oh Oh that's so fucking I'm GONNA do about it. Of course do what I flight attendant. What does she do? She can't come over and to suck all the fat autumn right in the route to being. You know another seat there must have been. I would have tried to move on. But sometimes they're sees that you can't see around your section that you you know they might say. Hey you can sit here. Well maybe because I want to see a sea looked I looked the right kid. I looked around. I didn't see and I must not have seen another seat. Because I wouldn't have gotten up and moved. I would have gotten. I wouldn't have called the flatten out of dot. Lighten up went back there malate Yo. Can we work this out something. I'd just sit there the whole flight for like whatever it was. No wonder no wonder in that situation relation. I think and again I don't read this on southwest policy but in that situation if you have to move because of a situation like that no wonder they may have to pay additionally for that seat since they literally chillier taking it up. You know what I'm saying Jack. He didn't have a seat to his right. Yeah it was just him in the middle but him moving to the right wait a minute stop so he was in the middle You were to the left. There was no one sitting to the right of him. I wouldn't have over I to me. It wouldn't have made a difference but I would have got. I think he was then fly. He he didn't he didn't give a full two story. How would it be? No one vacancy. originally no no. No no you were telling the story. I've I've visit you on the other side on the right side of that like you know what I'm saying time Beijing China I was here. He was to my right and I remember looking over. Berlaymont you move your big over but basically if he had an extra seat to whatever side of him which I would have moved over even that's what he wasn't leaguer people do that. Curtis I mean you. Do you just common courtesy. Even if I'm not big why are you sitting next to me busy. Talk over me own story. The night I fell asleep. I'm not remembering. He fell asleep before the plaintiff inter off. Oh my God so I was not about to try to wake his ass up Abra. Can you move your assets in considered as fuck because what does the money had to come and get in that seat. That was empty. They would have had to climb Over tobacco no up him. Getting up would have been such a pair to the heirs right but my point is like that's my seat. I feel you know what I'm saying. I'm August say again I get the policy I do. I got this. I remember hearing afterwards that there is a policy that if you're a certain size you have to buy two seats. Remember thinking that's fucked. Stop but then. Yeah it sucks but at the same time as a business I understand. But I'm with Rod. They should make the seats. Yeah all right man what you got me. So yeah mine is like like Mike said is kinda cheap but not really because we didn't have all the details last week but it's just a I just wanted to bring it back up the whole Dwayne Wade and his eleven year old son and we wasn't one hundred percent sure if his son was gay or whatever transitioning it came out after we after that podcast that he actually is transitioning and he and they fully support it and I wanted to bring it back up also because Sophie wasn't here so I wanna I want to get her thoughts on it as well but basically if you heard the conversation or the podcast from last week but I was saying you know it. Got Me thinking about my soon to be Jason. And if he wanted to transition or he was gay or whatever how would I how would I approach it. And how would I support him in that and I was just given. Ah Dwayne Wade a lot of credit. Because I don't know if I'm near you to to to accept my son transitioning at such a young age or whatnot. Not because because my experience kids go to a lot of things they're into one thing and then no two years later they're into something else they don't like it one day. You WanNA play cello. And they don't want to play cello. And then they wanna be a gymnast and then they WanNa be Jimmy so it's just like they changed their minds a lot so I don't know I didn't you know if I could fully support in back that at such an early as because I'm not even sure if you know exactly what you want right now. So he was Kinda talking about that. And that's just kind of give you a broader Oughta scope of what we were talking about but now I wanNA bring back around to the Wayne Way his son now do we have more details of him actually supporting his son transitioning. You know what I think is dope man I mean nothing. New has changed since you know I think they first ars win. Public with everything But for him to be such a high profile black figure and to him to be as as has active and open and visible. You know about You know his gear when he doesn't really have to think he's going to do wonders is man Of were for people I think is GonNa help curtail. What I feel is is the myth about About about homophobia in the black community I don't think is More toxic than than white community I think thank you I think there is probably about both equal. I think no overtime we as usual man somehow became the face of it When it comes to talk about it and and what? I'm observing as an aside Is this whole conversation about Mayor Pete and about his inability ability to connect with black people. Because he's he's you know he's gay or whatever but But Yeah I think for him to do that man for him to be out there and having these conversations -tations I love it and and I hope that more people continue to do this when the situation arises. So do you love it with discern certain being so young I mean the easy cop out of it it just really is not Muslim you know. Oh and and that's really. The easy is an honest answer. I can give because it doesn't directly affect me so you know just up with him but just in terms of like take You know just being supportive. I think it's great Pretty sure they may have had plenty of conversations may not You know about it to the point where he's comfortable with his decision. Yeah because he's basically saying that when he looks at him he clearly sees I. It's no question in his mind that this is what it is. You know you kids me. That's one thing that that ranged rule. You know your kids kids but but again like and. I'm sure you can testify to that you know kids. Do they change. You know they start off rambunctious they calm down they into one thing being when one day and then he knows. I'm so you've spent that we got toy story my house man a bunch of abandoning towards so. I guess that's the part that that just kinda not concerns me but just gets me to thinking a little bit more about it like okay if I support this and then later you know he's like Yeah I don't think this is what I WANNA do or whatever because it isn't like Kris Jenner going to that right now what we're know With who wanted to go transition back to man not unheard..

"I. I've been waiting trauma daughter. Dr- Dr- Drake in trying to get young and you got a reply in the competent. I've been waiting all right. I'm trying to see where your location is. That what did drink come here. He said something sense is this apparently blew up right. So what does he said. He's got that teenage stuff. Oh Wow I taint either. You can't stoop. I haven't seen anything. Drinker said firmness. But that's what I thought I was going with that because he's done it with a couple of different people like the girl from Tom From Australia. Yeah he didn't say anything but it was kind of sketchy. It was weird Bobby Brown to meet him because she was the fan and he took a picture and then people were just creepy. No saw what she was saying. He's kind of like. Oh you know. We're like so friends and text at the time and this and that third I drink talks six daughter group like no no Romance Grandma Hansen. I'm so the Mothman he'll man and I heard that when When what is her name Georgia Smith or whatever George Smith Yeah casing? He's young too. He was like I guess Georgia which I like her. Dealing with fear and doubt as a podcaster
"Have been times in my life and there probably are some times in your life as well where you felt a little bit of fear before you hit publish. Maybe it was before for you. Publish that first episode and you wondered what are people going to think about me or maybe it's your most recent episode and you're thinking what if people don't like like what I had to say or have you ever maybe downplayed what you're doing with your podcast when you were talking with your co workers because you don't want to fully reveal what you're doing doing and not for legal reasons just because you're not comfortable really revealing that because you're afraid people might see you differently all of those things have impacted me at one point or another. And if they haven't already it's possible they might impact you today. I'm going to share how I worked worked through it in the beginning. What I'm doing about it now and also six things that I have because I kept moving forward so I'm GonNa take you back back to two thousand fourteen when I was starting the engaging missions show and I had found a person to help guide me through the process of getting started of starting my show? However I'll tell you right now before I hit publish on that first episode? I had a lot of different fears going on in my head things about about. What would people think when I sent him an email and said hey check it out? I just started podcast and they might wonder. Who are you too? Have a podcast on this subject. It it was A. It's a show where I interview missionaries and Church planters. I've never been either. So who am I to publish a podcast about that. Or maybe they would think that I was is too uppity or maybe they would think that I was. I don't know being somehow divisive or should have asked for permission or any number of things and I'll tell you what I did is exactly the same thing I do today. I considered what was going on. I kind of dealt with the fear a little bit let myself feel it and then I just did it scared. I just hit publish and I thought well if there's a lot of pushback and I don't like what happens. I can always remove it. I can always delete it. And that's how I did it so I did that for the first episode and then the second episode came up and I was a little bit concerned concerned but I did it scared and I did it scared and I did it scared. And eventually it became less scary and then I started changing the way I was doing my interviews and the first time I was a little bit scared so I kind of felt my way through it and then I did it again and I did it again and did it again and that has been how I've been able to keep going with the engaging missions show that's how I launched this podcast. It's also how I've been able to do other things in addition to this podcast. I I also have a youtube channel where I put up. Tutorials is focused primarily on things related to Hindenburg journalists. Because that's the software that I use and and I like to make it easier for people to use that software and it was that desire to make that accessible to people that led to that. I also have a Hindenburg users group on facebook it's an unofficial group. It's just something that I started. I didn't ask for permission. I just thought well. If there's any pushback I can always remove it and stop and there hasn't been in fact. The folks at Hindenburg have been happy to have that. They're so I'm happy to continue that. I also consult what people if they in fact. I've got something set up for later this week to talk to somebody about Hindenburg in about Isaac Tope. RX7 about is it tope ozone about plug ins about all that Kinda and his stuff. And the first time I did that I was scared. I also edit for clients. The first time I did that. I was scared. I also help people launch their podcasts. I I was scared when I did that the first time as well but every time I've done this I've gotten better and it's gotten easier to work through that and now because of that. I have this podcast. I have a youtube channel. I consult. I have a Hindenburg users group. I offer editing and launching all because I was able to move move forward scared and you can do the same same kind of thing
Online Dating by the Numbers
"Welcome to this single podcast podcast. I'm Laura Lane and I'm Angela spare. We were the CO writers of the book. This is why you're single every highlight a different dating topic this week's episode is online dating by the dumbers emmers. Yes also on the line talking about what's new in dating news. A writer gets creative trolling scammers on tinder and a man hacks tinder then we're diving into the mailbox to answer your listener questions including a listener who is tired of having weird encounters on dating apps and another who wants the guy she seeing to delete his APPS APPS but first we want to welcome this week's guest she is a comedic actress and the Creator playwright of the off Broadway show date me in okay cupid experiment. Please welcome Robin Lind Norris Hi everyone thanks so much for having me. Thank you for coming on the show so we had scheduled robin to be on the show when she was in New York and then I got sick as I've talked about many times on the show so this is our first time we've ever had a guest do this remotely Robin is in. La and we are in New York. We've had a rule that I guess have to be in the studio but I cancelled on Robin last minute when I went to the hospital and now we're so excited to have her back because angelides at a little title. BFF Date Ni- and saw the show and we loved it. We had so much fun. Oh my God we had so much fun and you know. I don't know you know you never know what you're going to get with. The show we walked out of there and we were like that was amazing. I wish we had written it so the biggest compliment thank you yes your show is based on an experiment you did where you create in multiple fake profiles of quote Unquote dateable people and then interacted with it's the real people on Okay cupid through these profiles. Tell us a little bit about that. What sparked that idea and did you know at the time you'd be using it for comedy comedy material later okay so it's a slightly different what's in the current show than what actually happened in real life so I'll give you the real life story because I think it's pretty interesting? The whole thing was a total accident I had just moved to. La from Chicago and I absolutely absolutely love L. A. Now it was very lonely when I first moved there and I had gone through a number of awful dating experiences where I had pretty much just was flatlined given up. That was the state I was in and my friend. Lori called me on the phone one day and just said hey are you on okay cupid. I made a profile sal. Would you check out my profile see if I wrote anything weird and this is actually pretenders to a little bit of history like this show came about in Los Angeles than we were in Chicago and now we're in New York so in. La this was pretender and I was very much of the I'm old fashioned. I'M GONNA meet my soulmate in person kind of the state of mind so I was like no. I'm not on okay cupid but I was like I'll help her out so you have to have a profile to look at other people's profiles so I was like fine fine. I'll take five minutes and fill out a crazy cat lady. It was just the first stereotypical thing that came to my mind of course anyone who's yeah exactly so for for anyone who's on okay cupid the reason I like that dating APP is you get to write a little mini bio and you can kind of present yourself however you want you know and and I think psychologically so fascinating at once. I got into the experiment to read what people were doing now. This is my first time so I just answered the questions in all caps you know like like on purpose. I love kitties. If you don't love Kitties then you won't love me Beep Boop beep up like I was making robot sound on a typical Friday night. I'm playing with my kids of course like so stupid right and I like and men doubt it yeah exactly I forgot about it. Then went to check out lorries profile went to dinner with her and a couple of girlfriends two days later and hundreds of messages hundreds hundreds of the typical you see some of this in the show like the typical sexual innuendoes because Katie you know right and then an but then guys talking in all meows but in grammatical paragraphs which so good so hard I was dying and then I started to get reflective because I was like cold on this crazy cat lady is more popular online than I am in real life so what's wrong with me and that's where the idea came came from the original show was called UN dateable and I took it to my friend Bob Ladwig. We were working on some stuff and I was like hey this thing happened. What if we did an experiment and we just created and what we think are unbeatable or wacky personalities and put them across the country and track the result and see what happens so I knew it was funny any I didn't know it would turn into the show that it turned into and that I would also go on this like heartfelt journey because I also got really worried about these people and we we can talk more about this later but it definitely wasn't a hey? Let's just make fun of these idiots wake because you're talking to real humans and who you really don't WanNa make fun of them or hurt their feelings and they might you know of course there's some guys that might have been jerks and being like hey put some joke but you know some of them might have a real connection Russian right yeah exactly. Everybody's looking for something right so it's like I think you know I'm very overly sensitive Tiv- empathetic person so bob and I did set up rules early on like we were like we're not going to interact with people unless they find characters funny and reach out to us. I we're not going to you you know meet anybody in person or if I felt like people were actually literally into me or my characters I was getting. I'd yeah in a nice way. I tried. I think nice like I'd be like Oh. You're so nice. I just started seeing someone but this is before I even knew what ghosting was but I could never ghost anyone because because I had it happened to me and I was so obsessed so we had thirty eight characters I spiralled. I was like I have to get back to everyone. That's a lot of characters to keep track of feelings a lot of feelings exactly as someone who online dated and use okay keep it a lot I am totally not surprised that that you had men rolling into the craziest profile. DM's because like there's a lot of wackos out there Did you learn anything that surprise you well. Yeah I learned one kind of what you said like. It really is reflective real live so there is a lot of sexual innuendos. UN does and people being kind of gross and stuff for the most part with this though I think because our characters were so specific and unique people were super into it so so I didn't actually get a lot of haters where I think normally you do get that lake. Why don't you write me back? Bitch kind of thing like I most people were like this is the funniest thing I've ever seen and they were really playing along and that surprised me more than I thought it would and then as I did research because I did a lot of research search we were developing the show I found out that the more specific you are in your profile better chance you have of finding a match so when you water it down and you just say like I love to laugh ah you try to you know I love to travel. It's everybody's saying the same thing and you saw that part in the show where we categorize people into online on dating species because I found all these patterns of people like everyone thinks they're being original and they say the same thing as everybody else set always drew my crazy yeah yeah yeah I think even with ours show this is what you're single. When we're doing our sketch we would have the most specific jokes and then we would find out that people are like Oh my God I relate so much to this whatever specific thing I can't think of a example right now but the point is is that even the most specific things when it comes to dating are universal like that's I think what you what you realize but yes as far as the lack of originality in profiles you touched on something that I loved in the show which was on okay cupid they the things that you can't live without people think they are being so funny when they're like food water air and then everybody else is up at one hundred percent right in fact? We actually burn that suggestion because you know I did the show in Chicago for three years so done that a lot of times and it's like the I would say one out of ten people say that and you're like they. I know they did it online because I saw it and then when we sorry I'm people who are listening. Don't realize we have some Improv in the show and we interview people based on some of these questions so when we asked their six things a Lotta Times they go water air and you were like we have to be like that's really great. You get that all the time. Let's get a little more specific ray. You also notice the very odd trend of people referencing the Zombie Apocalypse Lot which I notice as well. Oh my God. I'm glad you noticed that too. yeah I call them. In the species I call them the walking dread because they can't resist talking about about the Zombie Apocalypse and end the end of days and they've got their kids and like it's interesting yeah in the show you imply hi that you met your husband via. One of these fake profiles is that true. Is that how you met well then that's a great question or is that little your creatives gives creative stretch. It's a little of a creative stretch. I will say it was a good one almost nine. Thank you ninety five percent of the show. I was so adamant I was like I wanted to be a hundred represent true. Maybe you know people are like okay for storytelling purposes yet so I in the show. Yes I meet a character that ends up being my husband has been that didn't I didn't meet him online. The character is based on him. You know he's called Math Club historian eighty two and that's like a joke that you know my husband's also a comedian and and so it's based off of him and his spirit but I did meet him at the tail end of this experiment so it was kind of a weird your thing where I was completely shut down not open to online dating went down this whole journey were then I was like everyone so human and I actually did start to feel Jio for all these people as human beings and then I met my husband in real life right once I feel like I did the
Randy Moss rode big-play ability all the way to Hall of Fame
"Randy moss is a, I first bottle hall of fame. My colleague here is very proud of him. He deserves it out of voter him in the first ballot hall of fame as well. But if we're going to use the criteria to keep te'o Al. How do we justify doing that for Randy moss who literally admitted he played when he wanted to. Te'o played heart all the time. There were times and Oakland. Randy moss admitted. He took off. Because he was frustrated, played hard in England played hard in Minnesota. Wasn't the case in Oakland. What about that. See. That kind of up and down mood econo- stuff has no place in voting when it comes to the hall of fame. Your level of production matters. For example, there are people who say, Chris Weber's a hall of Famer in the NBA look at his numbers. I would say to you is damn show a hall of fame if we talk and fat five. But we talk an MBA career yet a numbers might be, you know what? I remember. I remember ready for this new knowing cat. I remember how to basketball was a hot potato for him when they were in the Western Conference finals against the Lakers and he couldn't give that ball up to Mike Bibby soon enough. That's what I remember. Reggie Miller never went to an NBA finals, but dad brother always wanted to ball. That's not what I saw over Chris Webber. It's not what I do. Numbers watch Shoygu deserves. It still was short deserves. It. What he accomplished in college Shoygu deserves. That's too many moments. When the franchise face the star of the team on the NBA level, not college basketball, NPA level one, no parts that basketball and thank God. He had Mike Bibby and pages to yackobitz and to a lesser degree Vladivostok. I remember. Would the dog Christie's in the world. I remember. So those kind of things that I'm talking about. Got to be about production. It can't be about emotion. And that's why support te'o in that it eight say ESPN. It's inundate seven to nine, three, seven, seven, six thing I want to touch on real quick before the calls is this new NFL rule where you're getting penalized, teen, y'all penalty of for leading with your helmet. I got no problem with it. If you're talking about avoiding launching your head and being like a missile. But I saw the the the penalty call last night by fichus were guys extending the on and trying to lead in it with their shoulder, but ended up their head. You know, the the head ended up touching the body. I something you know what the problem with that is, do y'all know that the hit the Anthony ball put on my man, Aaron Rodgers last year? Do you know that would be a penalty? That is utterly ridiculous. There is nothing illegal or de legitimate about that hit. That is preposterous. Absolutely. No place for it. And I'm here to tell you. Here. The biggest reason why Yasha hate this rule. It's going to delay the game more. Gonna late, the late the game more. As if we don't have enough time spent with the game being delayed because all of these damn penalties. Understanding trying to make the game safer, but dammit, there's a risk that comes with it either planet or you're not. I think the NFL's got this wrong. Aides say he has been seven to nine, three, seven, seven, six to the phones. We go trae you live, Stephen, what's going on with your even. Good. Thank you..
