Hope you're well And say I hope you had a good weekend I've got a good Wednesday It's very hard for me not to root for American teams in world competitions it never even occurred to me that I would not a Who will I root for if not be how could that be I love my country But I I hope the women's soccer team loses I'm not only not rooting for them. I hope they lose They have contempt for me and my country so in turn I have contempt for them It's not a complex issue. I Don't root for you just because you are American and Stand for the opposite of everything that I treasure about being an American So this though the story is worldwide, but here it is from the Daily Mail the British website US women spark fury with another listless rendition of the star -spangled banner at the World Cup as Holland's players proudly sing their anthem with arms wrapped around each other so when I was in Europe last month, I wrote like a column my weekly column about how much better I felt in Europe now to be honest that was Eastern Europe But this would be an example We Were talking about the Netherlands which is a pretty woke country I might add But apparently it's women's soccer team Loves their country more than our soccer team Women's soccer team loves their country The Dutch were involved in colonialism and imperialism and all that stuff But apparently the women of the Dutch Soccer team do love their country Gleefully singing Their national anthem with their arms wrapped around one another our team looked For the most part there were exceptions like they were About to undergo Life -threatening surgery What am I doing here with this crappy piece of Lyric and music being played for a place for which I have contempt Well, how many are on the team 15, I don't know how many are on the team Of the luckiest human beings on the face of the earth Only Six players held their heads to their chest when the star -spangled banner was playing and Not all of them were singing most were not Those who did such as Alex Morgan Julie Eretz and Lindsey Horan Appeared to mumble the words rather than sing loudly along they wouldn't sing loudly along because The truth is it took some courage just not to be silent With the ugly human being talking about ugly in a moral sense Megan Rapinoe in the lead with her contempt for the United States of America By comparison the Dutch team that's a team against which the US women played and they I think they tied the Dutch team sang proudly to their anthem Wilhelm Wilhelm us With the players wrapping their arms around each other before the game began in Wellington New Zealand all 11 Dutch women sang their anthem Too bad.

"It's not going to be a dump because no team's taking on multiple years at that salary. It's not a dump, meaning no team is going to give you one of their good players and take one of them back. They're going to say, I actually, it's going to be a team that needs a player like smart or white and has excess at another particular spot and might make that swap straight up. You know, that would make sense. Like, would you do Derek white for Marcus Morris right now? Snapping those swapping those salary straight up. You and Joe sway love the good old days. I'm just saying, I don't love Marcus Morris. I'm saying it's salary for salary and filling a position of greater need where you do have a redundancy. No, I'd rather have them. We talked about the value of having these guards because broadband is going to get hurt. You guys who can step in for them and continue to produce at that spot..

"And he's going to play next to cat. I don't understand it. All right, they need a defect. It is a tweet that he apparently wanted to get out so fast. He didn't put any details because I think you know somebody's coming out coming up behind it. The tweet says only Utah is trading Rudy Gobert in Minnesota. Nothing else. So let's wait for some details in here. This is another interesting and fun one to talk about as well. But what the hell is going on? Unreal. What an off season so far. Yeah. Annie Macon moves gets a first Royce O'Neal and now trades Rudy. So they'll try to stick with Mitchell. It looks like. Unless they trade both, which I don't think is a bad idea for them, 'cause they are nowhere close to winning. So did you see were you seeing on Twitter earlier today? Wind horse had this funny segment where it was like he was like I heard about it. I didn't see it. So it was interesting because he's like, I'm telling you, he's like, the most interesting thing going on now is what's happening in Utah. And let me tell you why I broke it down, trading a starter for a first round pick for no reason at all. And he's like, and what he was clearly intimating is Utah's about to send everything packing. So just watch. You know, like it's about to get something's happening in Utah, you know? They brought in a rookie coach, okay, very young. And the comparison he said was, you know, when what happened when they hired Brad Stevens, they traded all their traded Durant. They mean they traded. They traded KG. They traded pierce. And that was the parallels make it. So now you've brought in a rookie head coach with no experience, signed him long term. To oversee what, okay? To oversee a rebuild, potentially, to grow with younger pieces to bring in younger pieces and groom them. And that's what he was kind of thinking. He's like, something is really going on in Utah. So here we go. They're going to Danny. They're going to Danny process this thing all over again. Acquire some picks and try to hit some home runs. The tank up a loser heading into next year is pretty significant. When you have potentially 5 difference making players that people are knocking themselves out over to get into and that's before the college season even begins and four of these guys aren't even in the car in the college ranks. You're talking G league elite sort of stuff. So there's some incredible names and a lot of teams are scrambling to get into that lottery for next year. So again, this is another reason why if you're a team like the Celtics, great, anyone wants to clear money and blah blah blah and take on this and that will do it for you. You got to wonder if Mitchell's the next move here. I mean, I can't see him staying. No, and I don't know where he ends up in Miami would be interesting for him. They've been connected to him that's the hero thing. They can stack a couple of young guys out of that deal as well as some picks, but the interesting deal I saw that could come together here and makes a lot of sense..

"Obviously he's still got a role here, but you really brought in guys that are going to and now you get to play more situationally dependent. Where guys come in in roles that suit them. And you have that flexibility before grant had to play 25 minutes, didn't matter who you were playing and so did Derek white because you just didn't have options. Now, you can play around with it. And survive. You can give Tatum and brown some rest and not worry that you're going to have to start Aaron nee Smith. Like you've got, you are now, if you were 7 or 8 deep before you're now ten deep right now. And you've still got the ability to add. Both with a veteran big that you'll probably going to bring in, you know, with a veteran minimum contract and that TPE still out there. Whether or not they're going to use that to swing a $17 million player, I doubt it. I always believe that TP was more likely to be broken in half and to bring in somebody in the 9 $10 million range. And I still wouldn't be stunned if they did something like that. You know, we talked about a guy like Marcus Morris. That would make sense to me. You know, I don't know if they go the full 17. But you still might bring in another player. To add depth here. And again, these are champagne problems. Who's starting who's closing? You just added, oh, I lost you, Bobby. Can anybody hear Bobby? I can not, and I don't know if it's a glitch on my end. No, he had to go. He had to go. Bobby will be by cutting here, Bobby. Okay, yep, I got confirmation. So just to recap, if you're a Celtics fan, who starts who finishes, these are problems that are going to be worked out during the year, it really doesn't matter at all. You need a depth so badly you need it offense so badly. You just got two depth pieces and much, much, much better offensively than you were 5 hours ago, which is really what's amazing here. We'll bring Bobby back in. Yeah, I mean, I got you. So again, all of this stuff doesn't matter, and it's no reason for us to tear each other apart. We'll figure out where it goes. Again, you don't know what kind of condition brogden is going to be in to start the season. There's a lot of factors in here. You don't know what you don't know what the Celtics plan to do for someone like Horford, do they want to give him a break?.

"Smart couldn't Brown couldn't Tatum Horford. No one on the roster could fix the turnover issues. Yes, these guys postgame. What can you do to stop the turnovers? And it's just like, oh, be more careful in the next game, it's 18 more turnovers. So it got to a point where it not only derailed them in the finals, it could have derailed them in the east finals and it could derail them in round two. It was consistent and it got worse throughout the playoffs. So I understand why they did this. There's no doubt that they needed an improvement at point guard. But now you have by product of that, a challenge chemistry wise, line up wise, and role wise with smart who still, as you said, is immensely valuable, but we know how he is John. We talked to him all the time. We hear from him. Max had him in the elevator, talking about his role. This is very important to him..

"To move him in and out of there because the thing was smart is he might not have started, but he closed a lot because he was valuable to what you, what you brought there and, you know, especially when you're protecting leads late in games. And that's going to happen a lot. I still think smart's immensely valuable. So you have to, I think, and do this season saying, you're still of enormous stature on this team. This isn't a guy coming in to replace you. This isn't a guy filling your playmaking deficiencies and moving you off the ball. There are so many ways that this could be received wrong from him in particular. And then adding that, adding to that, moving him to the bench. I don't think it's a great formula for getting the best out of smart because if smart TA, you still want him to be his most focused motivated, active self, right? Because he's an enormous part of what they're doing on defense. Still, I think the point guard at this team right now. I think it's close between those two in terms of overall passing, rather than you hope can improve them throughout the flow of the lineups here, but it is a little awkward because woj drops this drops this and you know wages a team guy drops this line that this solves the playmaking need and the smart receive that is, oh, I couldn't do it. Like how personally did smart take that playmaking point guard status on the I mean, it's very like a badge of honor. It's been a chip on his shoulder and it honestly it's been a chip on the shoulder of Celtics fans who I don't know why continued to insist that Marcus smart is one of those guys strictly offensively. He's not. He's clearly bottom third of the league. Just in terms of what he can bring to the table offensively, it's just canceled out by his ability to defend because his value is so high because he is this big defensive player of the year caliber guard. Who switchable and does all of these things. So it cancels out, but if you just cut him in half and just looked at him offensively, he's clearly bottom third of the league and I don't know why people defend it. It's not an insult. You're looking at the whole player and the whole player is immensely valuable, but I've always said with smart that I believe he's that guy who you put in there to give the game what it needs instead of say you're the point guard run the show make everyone around you better. I've never, ever thought that that was what he does best. I thought he was the best suited on the roster that they had to do it. But why do we delude ourselves into believing that he's actually good at it? He's not, he's not. And it's not an insult because he's still an outstanding basketball player for everything that he does and also a capable point guard. But you needed a little bit more from that position. So I just don't think it's that insulting to say that. You know, I don't know why you can point to certain players and be like, he's not great defensively, but then you continue to insist that somebody who's not great offensively is. His track record throughout his career is that he's not a terrific offensive player, both in terms of his ability to shoot, to get by people and get to the rim to finish at the rim. And as a distributor, he's pretty good. He's not great. He's not an exceptional ball handler. He's pretty good..

"For 50% welcome bonus on your first deposit. Bet online, where the game starts. If you want to look at it and say, they'll keep all these guys in place. Figure out the minutes and the rotation. Maybe they go toward a smaller lineup, like you kicked around OS video, John and move forward to the bench. These are all possibilities of making this work. Plus Brockton's a shooter who projects to fit better next to smart than some of the other guys. He could sort of be that off ball, secondary facilitator here. But then you look at him and say, he's not solving your playmaking issues if he's in that white roll off the ball. Funneling the ball through the corner. He's a guy you want on the ball a ton if he's going to solve those issues. So that's where I, that's where I fall here because that moves smart back to shooting guard that moves white off the ball a bunch and you effectively have two guards who struggle to shoot who are going to be off the ball more next to brogden here. So I do wonder how this all takes out fit wise. I know everyone's going to freak out over it because, you know, there's a lot of Marcus love here. I don't think it's off the table that Malcolm Brogdon starts at point guard in Marcus smart kicks kick to the bench. That's why I think a Durant. This is where he spent the majority of his career. It's not blasphemy to think that that's a direction that they would potentially go because I would hear respond to that. Well, it doesn't matter because he's done it his whole life. And yeah, how does he respond? I don't know. He feels disrespected and then he goes out and he shows you that he's the man. I don't think he's going to take his ball and go home or tank the season. I think it's possible. Do you bring brogden off the bench? It's also possible. Do you play them both? And Jalen at the three with Tatum at the four and a single big? Yeah, maybe I don't know. Again, we're going to obsess over starting lineup and it's not going to matter as much. What this does is it gives you a lot more combinations that you can use without sacrificing so much. Every single time right now, what brogden brings to you is an offensive presence you didn't have when you sit Tatum and or brown. Every lineup I feel when those guys when one of those two was off the court was so limited, especially when you had white alongside performing poorly offensively and prichard when his shot wasn't falling and you'd put some of those lineups out there and be like, I don't know if they're ever going to score. And now it gives you more ability to have two scorers on the floor at all times. The ball, you're super and you're flexible and you throw in Gallinari who can also shoot and gets you buckets. You have offense now without having to worry only one guy on the floor right now can score. That's a totally different dynamic than what you had before. What a transformational day for this team. Even if this is it, I think people would be thrilled if this is it going in the next year, Vegas now calling the Celtics the title favorites I saw in one spot..

"It's brogden smart and white. So honestly, white's going to be really hard to trade with the contract and his performance last year. So you may be forced to not be forced to. Smart might be the only way you kind of get off, you know, or, you know, potentially, you know, get another piece or, you know, like I said, or roll up. At this point, I don't know. That's a lot. That's a chance this could be a reverse of the white move, definitely. And you trade him for a wing potentially or something. You could, but I don't know if I don't know who's taking him on at that money after what we saw, you know? Yeah, I mean, it could make some sense depending on how the nets come together. I don't think anybody would be bummed out if, look, if last off season, if last season at the deadline, they made this brogden trade and not the white trade. I think people would have been thrilled. I think people convinced themselves that white was the right piece. He was not the right piece. I'm sorry, guys. And it's not based only on performance. The team needed other things and things that he wasn't able to provide. They projected forward that he might be able to do more than what he'd done previously in his career offensively. And in fact, he went in the other direction. So you got the worst of everything. It wasn't a perfect fit to begin with. And he performed very poorly. At least on the offensive end, he regressed. You can talk to yourself and all the other stuff he did, but nobody said that's what he was going to do and would have been excited about it. Yeah, nobody said it. All we have to do is come here. Yeah. If people said at the time of the trade, all he has to do is come here, score 6 points a game and shoot 29% from three. That'll be perfect. No, that's not what you expected. You thought he was going to get better next to the Jays as a shooter. You thought he'd really solve the connectivity issues that they were dealing with at the time. And instead it got worse as the postseason progressed, and he couldn't factor in it at all. So yeah, this definitely could be the beginning of the end of wait's time here. We want to take.

"And he's had them his whole career. So you know this guy isn't going to play a full season. The demand out there, evidently, wasn't great for him if the pace was given up at this price. But there's another side to this too. Indiana seems to be pursuing Deandre. And this cleared up enough cap space to sign him if they want to do that. So it made sense for both sides to go this route. Flyer, nee Smith, bonus as well for the paces, but the cell takes here. I wonder what's next. You open up the big man spot behind Horford and rob. You have a trio now of playmaking point guards who need the ball in the hands to some degree to help out. Now white, smart, have succeeded as off ball players in the past. They could film more of a two role next to brogden and Tatum who probably bear the brunt of those playmaking minutes. But I find the assessment by you woj and Bon temps who came through with the story on this as well that this is the playmaking guard they need. What does that mean? Here's the thing. I think people mistake what playmaking means. Play making is not just an assist guy. Playmaking is a person who can generate offense on their own, whether it's through scoring or through finding people, okay? And who is a capable player? It's making plays all around, okay? Is he a super high assist guy? He's a 6 assist guy, which again would put him high on this team. But he's a guy who scores who you have to pay attention to, who shoots the ball well. It's all about making plays. It's not just, it's not just, you know, oh, he's everyone just thinks you mean Ricky Rubio when you say playmaking. Playmaking is the ability to make plays. And he is a playmaking shot creating offensive minded point guard. I think that that's, I mean, exactly what you're looking for. And he's 6 5. So again, it fits exactly what you're trying to do when you're staying big and you have switchable defenders. It fits everything of what you're looking to do. Can he defend like smart? Of course not. But this is a guy who's a 20 point per game scorer. Again, health is obviously the issue. But I mean, he can shoot the ball, man. He's a career. You just added two career 38% three point shooters. Before you're bringing in Derek white, who's a 32% shooter and saying, I hope he can, I hope he can pick it up some. You brought guys in who can actually score. That's a huge thing. You didn't have it before. It's incredible. The depth they've assembled here in a day when they were working paper thin. And the depth everybody's been clamoring for. That's what's so interesting, Bobby, is like, it's almost fan service sort of trades, right? Like, you know, everyone's like, just get brogden in a guy like Gallinari and they'll be fine. And then they go get those guys, you know, and it's terrific..

"A blockbuster by Celtic standards by, you know, I mean, this is a big trade. What's most interesting to me about this trade will get into the particulars in a minute. Something went out and did the thing, we weren't sure if they would do this need for a playmaking point guard, but the entire conversation around Malcolm Brogdon, who they just acquired from the Indiana Pacers was instead of Marcus smart or instead of what they have now. And it doesn't mean another move isn't forthcoming. And it could be and we'll discuss that as well. But in tandem with or in addition to for the cost that they paid here, I mean, this is a freaking heist. And what are we talking about on the last show, Bobby? If teams want to dump quality players because they just don't want to pay them anymore, this is what you have to do if you're the Celtics at this point. You've got to pay for it. You got to get into that tax. You got to spend, you got to not be worried about it. And acquire the talent, if people are going to serve it up. So you just gave away nothing. Smith, Ted tice, nee Smith, a bunch of spare parts. Another pick. When you're contending and you are and you're loading up, that pick means nothing, okay? Those picks mean a lot when you kick them down the road and you don't know how you're going to be in a few years and you factor in those pick swaps. That's when you start to take on risk with these picks. If you were a team that's pretty certain. And right now, the Celtics have already moved to favorites in the sports books to win the title, not to contend to win the title with the moves today of acquiring Malcolm Brogdon and earlier Gallinari. And you know what Bobby, what's still, what do they still have? Smart? A teepee..

Alabama SEC Football Predictions for 2021
"Feel like discussions of national championship should be perfect segue when we looked to break down the defending champion from season ago and paint. I don't think it'll surprise anybody. When you look at alabama fan duel sportsbook there less than two to one to win the national title there an overwhelming favorite to come out of the sec west at minus four fifty. And when you look at their win total. It's eleven and a half shaded to the younger. Of course we know that the most electric offense that we've seen in tuscaloosa will not bring back a lot of their key. Playmakers nausea harris and of course devante smith taking their talents to the nfl combining for fifty five touchdowns last year. Mack jones get gone of course as well. But it's rare if you're a team in college football you bring in two former. Nfl head coaches and bill. O'brien and doug marrone to help pass the baton to the next heir-apparent embrace young under center. I don't know how much they're actually going to do. Or how much you actually want him to do. Listen nick listen. Nick and hope that they can keep players on the straight narrow that are collecting seven figure paydays at least on the books under an i l. arrangements compared to Bitcoin trust and everything else. They used to collect in the past the one thing with alabama that they've adhered to under this offensive. Change the last few years is that our offense is not changing. If you're coming into the sabin rehab program you're going to adapt to our offense or guys aren't constantly learning new systems and it seemed work but when i look at alabama's dominant they've been with nick. Sabin the only one back to back championships wants it. Feels like with his system. Continuity plays a large role. And that's something alabama's offense that you alluded to just doesn't have this season now. No one's feeling bad for alabama the way they were crew. But you're replacing. Six players drafted in the first twenty four picks five on offense and totally replacing three starters along the line to starting receivers a tight end and a quarterback and it's not just the players four offensive assistance. Four offense of analysts. They've all moved on. So alabama's offense is gonna regress. That is not a question. It's happening the real question for me. Is how large dip.

Just keep adding to that injured list as listened to the the twenty one thousand nine like i said there is still a game and a half up in their division. They have a four-game series coming up with colorado. Who been this year. So there's every chance in the world that on thursday afternoon we're talking about the twenty five and nineteen still first place new york mets even with all the injuries they have but a lot has to go right between now and then for that to have. The rockies is still a major league team and not to be taken lightly but a couple of good things in the horizon. Jacob degrom who was one of the sixteen yes. That's right i incident. I didn't say that wrong. Sixteen new york mets currently on the injured list of the twenty six players. They started the year with the listen. This list p lonzo. Tommy hunter taiwan walker jacob. Degrom michael conforto jeff mcneil. Jd davis brandon. Nimmo kevin pillar alberto l. Mara louise he army dylan betances. Jose martinez calls carrasco seth lugo and noah syndergaard all on the d. l. or the i l. right now used to be disabled list. Now they call the injured list But you know. Allies guys are due to come back. I mean jacob. Degrom is going to be ready to come back at some point this week. i believe. They said he's went up for tuesday right. Now against colorado taiwan walker was only supposed to miss one one start so there's a chance that he comes back either this weekend or maybe early next week Jeff mcneil and conforto. Nobody really knows yet Those guys are both had hamstring trouble. they're talking about..

The Paul Finebaum Show
Why Would Jaguars Sign Tim Tebow?
"We are back final hour. It's been a fun show. We appreciate you being here. A lot of conversation with my Mike smith earlier. We also talked to dennis dodd. Another conversation predictably has been tim. Tebow we've given you a lot of reaction on that in the mike cannon bom from espn former gm jets dolphins. He's been here a couple of times. He had this to say earlier today. On keyshawn jay will and zubin about understanding the signing. I don't like it. I just don't see the upside in this move. He's thirty four years old. He would be a backup. I just don't know of thirty four year old players that can come in and be back place special teams and you're taking away a roster spot from hopefully a young developmental player that could grow with a young nucleus obviously led by trevor lawrence. And to me this is probably through the lens of urban. Meyer saying a decade. And a half ago tim tiba was the most competitive guy i've ever been around and he can help set the culture. If i was in that building what i would be pushing back saying coach. That may be true but in the nfl as you well know. Players needs to be led by players. They believed can take them to where they wanna go and as a backup tight end. I just don't think tim tebow would have that same credibility as he wants dave when he was the starting quarterback in florida. He also questioned whether tibo could even makes a team. I just don't see how he makes the team or urban and he's a really good coach he he's been historically great college but i just don't know he has to earn a spot and he's given a spot. That's gonna cause a big problem because players weren't have a chance to win and again to me just putting on my lens of a general manager and roster construction if you're not a starter in the nfl with only forty six players dressing you have to play special teams so my question. is tim. tibor thirty four years old going to cover cover kicks that remains to be seen. Now if he doesn't earn it does a totally different discussion. But i don't think you could sign him and say hey. He definitely has a spot on this team.

"For a few months in two thousand fourteen sam. The first openly gay athletes selected in the nfl draft was one of the biggest names in the sports world. Espn gave him the arthur ashe courage award. He was a finalist for sports. Illustrated sportsman of the year is g kouzmin of the year when he was drafted by the saint. Louis rams president obama issued a statement declaring it an important step forward in our nation's journey shortly after the draft sam's jersey became the second highest selling one in the league. after menzel. the reason you probably don't remember much about michael. Sam on the football field is because he never played a single snap at a regular season game in the nfl. The rams drafted him in the seventh round. The two hundred forty ninth of two hundred fifty six players. He played a little in preseason. The rams released him before the start season started. The cowboys signed to the practice squad. Extra spots for players who practice with the team but don't participate in games. A few weeks later the cowboys released him from the practice squad. Thus ended the career of michael sam. The only photo you can find of in played in an nfl uniform or from meaningless preseason games he signed with the montreal alouette s- the canadian football league and made the roster but he played one game before quitting the team before sam was drafted. Greg bavard of sports illustrated watch game tapes of sam playing college football missouri and concluded that while sam played hard and made some great plays he'd have difficulty transitioning to the nfl. He was a good player for one season in college. He was productive so the accolades he received were earned but being a good college player and become a good. Nfl player. Two different things. See tim tebow. Sam did well for missouri with a lot of talent around him. A majority of his production came in three games against inferior competition without a need to show much of a pass rushing repertoire. He doesn't show much of what the nfl looks for on special teams and it's difficult to project position for him on the next level for those reasons. Sam would project to be no better than mid to late round pick. He could go undrafted to my eyes. Sam is decidedly average with nothing exceptional about his game though he will be helped by the fact that this draft is not deep with pass rushers and those are always needed and yet it was a big thing it was it was. They were going to be Folds if they didn't pick him he essentially used that as his way to leverage his way into the nfl.

"In the Bulls game, you know, it didn't wasn't enough in the end sure, but I thought he really was, you know, he helped he was a positive contributor had a good first half. He just wasn't as effective at that too close as they need him to be but you know, I think Prichard is a guy who came up with a lot of momentum a lot of money a lot of confidence and I think what's now happened is that he's you know, he's kind. Okay now I'm a rookie is a lot. I don't know. I gotta figure it out. He's he's kind of at that point where I'm going to break through that wall and just play Confident or he's just going to need to go away for a little bit go, you know get his regular summer break and then come back, you know, trying to figure it out see this happen. A lot of time with Rome is you know, I'm not worried about Pritchard at all. I thought you had a good game, but it could you know game prior to so but I think the real the really important pieces are Tatum wage. Triple double Tatum with a really odd and very against the Warriors to oh, yeah Warriors, but the triple double was fun like that triple-double marred by shooting percentage. Unfortunately, I know yeah, but I'm not I'm going to I'm going to rather than worry about the shooting process first one though. So I get where you're going is trying to bring others. It's Bruce s right the holes were throwing everybody at him. They had you know, he got off Jalen got off then Tatum got going and then the Bulls kind of second-half, they really switched up and they just sent the house sent the kitchen sink and he tried to find help but we don't have Kemba and you don't have smart you're limited in what you're going to get. No Fortier know Rob Williams, you know, you're you're missing most of your best six players right there. So I think that that's your birth. You should have gotten more minutes in that game. And I think this can be an area where you and I might disagree a little bit more but but being such a great inside player. Would that not have helped we're going to see this is what's going to happen job. I think I don't think first of all, let's remember where Jabari played right? So in college, so, you know, I mean, I'm going to be a fan before I'm not going away. No. No, I think actually I do think Jabari. I was very I'm very high on the Jabari signing because it's a low-cost. Hi, you know, no cost basically wage hard younger Slayer high-reward and and his size is something they don't have like they don't have a guy that size that that's like like that's what we were calling for the big three for you know guy who can even play some small-ball 5 and stretches and can do some things and like that's a guy like he fits in to eat for this team so dead. Nice to see Tatum. I've been wanting to see remember we had the Tyson Thompson issue and I was saying man, I would really love to see Jalen slide down to the to Jason slide down to the throng a play Rob at the five, you know, or at the time Thompson or whatever, but we just don't have that guy. You know, you could do show me or whatever but but Jabari can play dead inside. I'd love to see that line up, you know where you've got walker-brown..

"Is going to be the first like you know that collins was one and done but it wasn't like a guy people expected that to happen. You know just like the first real like blue-chip misguided knows he's coming for the guy that they've gotten so you know you have subs But then you've got craig kiss burt who Sort of projected sort of like a back end lottery guy won't fall out of the top fifteen sixteen picks up disparate is twenty two us a little bit older. I think you're naturally only raises the question. Well how do you wanna take a twenty two year old. You know if you're picking him the lottery but he's probably the best shooter in college basketball. I think he's shooting forty six percent or something from three. Which is you know wild Is this gonna knock down. Looks right away. ba. He's big enough that on defense you know. He may not be won't be like a plus defender he's not gonna like. You probably won't kill you defense either You know he's smart. He's continued to improve his his overall offense game. I think he's looked at a sort of a bankable. You know longtime role player who will start depending on what team he's on um and then the guy. I really liked his july. Their french guard. Who got the fourth navy here. A lot of time in the context of that team drew timmy. Is there other really good player. he's a little bit trickier of an nba evaluation with the way he plays at centre. He's not a big athlete super skilled But i i is the guy. I'm very curious about. I think has a chance probably deserves to go in the first round. isn't necessarily talk about that way yet. But he's you know he's such a good complimentary player Can really rebound has improved shooter. Day passer very unselfish under the this kind of like checks. A lot of those key boxes that sometimes get overlooked. We're talking about the drafts. 'cause everyone wants you know somebody who can go into a star. You might not be that. But he's probably gonna plan them for a long time with what he does do. Well so you know those four guys kiss a and jimmy are kind of the crux of lighter so good. They're all very quick decision makers If he doesn't play in the nba. I'll be level pro in somewhere else So you know. They are every bit of as good as hype. They've done all right so we're still a few months away from the nba draft lottery which is around the time that started to hear from executives who define the lottery who say oh. It's it's five players deep. It's six players deep. We like anybody within seven players of this. What's your perception of this draft right now. Like how deep is it at the top before you start getting into players with bigger question marks. Yeah i've talked to a lot of people about this. In an indie near the guys who i talked to you regularly around gay and i think the consensus is pretty clearly. Everyone feels comfortable with like five players. And then i think probably the burning question right now is like who is the sixth best prospect. And that's going to be different. Depending on who you talk to the top five would be cunningham. Moberly green suggs madonna thing. Nigga is. isn't that picture somewhere. In terms of the we would expect to be the first five guys off board But when you get to that spot is kind of where things get tougher and you can really say six about life you know down to like fifteen through eighteen or.

"Michael mumma stay in our did in the pro bowl they used to have like passing gills. Where there would be sort of like mechanical fake defenders. They would sort of like go back and forth and you'd have to kind of throw the the football through the moving targets. That was a thin right. I'm not making that up. Yeah it they should do that for your contest. They should have mechanical defenders. Who are sort of you know swinging back and forth in front of the who maybe just like popping up out a trap doors right and then these guys can do their little three sixty shimmy around those guys finish their layups and then you can have the inside the nba guys grading the layups from the sideline as judges. That sounds like a pretty good time. I'd watch that. Yeah the first time someone sprains their ankle. 'cause they tripped over a mechanical human That would be slightly problematic. Going forward where your head's at we'll work it out we'll get some extra padding and cushions out there. We'll see what we can do. All right michael. Three point contest field. What do you got. So normally i find the dunk contest to be the main event But for this particular season and for this particular player pool. I think that the three point shootout could be just like better than the actual game. I think the trash talking with the guys who have selected and just like the inner rivalries everything like it would be legitimate competition so the six players. I have selected. Here are steph. Paul george dame k. k. d. kyrie and lebron james. That's pretty awesome. I mean you're really load. Lebrons played here. Michael i would also say we probably need to say paul george with that dunk contest you. Maybe he can do double duty along with with lebron. I mean it's pretty hard to not make a good three point contest field these days..

Devin Booker, Suns Dominate Celtics Defense as Kemba Struggles Again
"Post game show Super Bowl Edition, I guess here even though yeah felt like the whole, you know, the last four years in a row, so he won Super Bowl Sunday a huge jigs going into this one, but when the game actually played itself out, I mean, how long did you did anyone even think the suffix for for a second had a chance to win this one in throughout the fourth quarter, at least I mean 102-91 the sun's taught the Celtics year you got you know for fourteen that we talked about how many different players can log? Have you know doesn't really contribute offensively so let's got six against the sun six players scored in double-figures here and it still wasn't enough couple of Walkers struggled. Of course, we're going to talk a lot about that Jayson Tatum a lukewarm shooting night. Not exactly what we wanted to see at him, especially down the stretch, but when it's his office looks that damn desperate, I mean, that's that's what you get. Right right fellows Nick gelso. Of course. Like I said, he's joining in here for for John we got Bobby Manning Jimmy Toscano, Jimmy. Let's start with you me Jimmy you came in here fired up because it's like you don't need one. You're already moving on to the ball, right? You don't even get into this. I want to talk about this game as much as it looked like the Celtics wanted to play this game today. I mean we're looking at like 80 points in the fourth quarter. That is ugly ugly basketball. I actually thought that the selfish would come out a little bit differently a second because they shot so poorly in that in that first half, but man it was kind of like more of the same to be completely honest. I mean listen, I know Jaylen Brown today, but that's no excuse. You know, they've able to compete a lot better than they and they did that thought today I mean I'll give them props for hanging around in the end I thought the P party kept him in it with some big big 3s and that second half there I know South Campbell Walker struggled all freaking day and if John was here I know would be ten minutes in on Kemba Walker right now he had a couple of big threes itself down the stretch but he missed another one late even later so you know very inconsistent you know that's kind of in a story with with Kemba Walker and I know that's one of the big issues people have with him but yeah it wasn't enough today frustrating it looks like it just looked like Phoenix had a lot more energy from start to finish and I mean Devin Booker did a little did a lot of everything I loved Devin Booker not just cuz obviously but I mean when you talk about some of the best scores in the NBA he's right right up there at the top where like a guy that can just like change the game in like 30 seconds all of a sudden he goes you know three straight down the court yep No, eight straight points all of a sudden, you know keeps the sons in it right there. So

"Tom brady or he gets let go and go someplace. Where has a better quarterback. They're they're obviously hitting the reset button on on this team. The one thing that could change You know slightly for julian edelman would be if if it's a guy like Jimmy garoppolo because there's history there you know him. Walking in knowing the system being comfortable in josh mcdaniels offensive mcdaniels does in fact say. Would you looks likely so. I i think if you get some semblance of continuity elements still return some value. But i mean we're talking about double digit around receiver at this point. You know he's not gonna be anybody that someone's going to target in drafts I'm up decision this offseason. Because he's on one of my dynasty rosters and. I'm running out of space of players that i want to hold onto to speculate on and so do i make a move to get rid of join. I'll probably end up keeping because we it's it's nicely that we're both together dave in up to five receivers if we want to. And he's Like my seventh receiver. I have a really good receiving or they're bundu tomase I don't i don't know if If i can justify to the draft where have to make five roster six rosters six cut six players to get you know open spots for the draft. He's gonna make the cut that that's how good my team is. But i would like to hold onto the element scenario. But i think that's the kind of decisions when people have to make some nasty using those chancy ends up. Reuniting with brady somehow someway opening if the patriots move on from godwin and move on from in tonio brown or one of those guys and brady says hey. Gimme element for one more run. You know depending on this year finishes for them. I get it happening for sure but that make you interested in like not just keeping them but putting them in your lined up in that dynasty league that we're talking about sign up..

You're doing capsule late straight year in in in one image. What would it be in one image. That is hard. I would say if that was the case in an empty an empty stadium. An empty arena. But i think i think for me you did this a little bit in your mouth but i kind of have to agree with you that feel like all in all a twenty twenty was terrible of course across the board but for china's i do think that sport distinguish itself in many ways in. I think that for a lot of the players that you know we have been talking about for years now It was really nice to see a lot of those players breakthrough in different ways. I think of course dominic. Thiem you know had finally won his first major and you know he had a really strong year across the board You know twenty seven years old finally gets to his high ranking. Gets that major. And you know it's all done at that first ornament back first major nine only osaka of course who not only is her major haul here but then she found her voice and you know use it and use it well and i think You know we can talk a little bit more about her but you have severe kenan against him. Thank someone who we talked about. Who is young and she. You know kind of proved again that she is here and you know she's twenty twenty two years old but her first major win was not a fluke and the list goes on. I think again. These are players that we've been talking about and it was good to see them all breakthrough re cement themselves and kind of redefine their careers This year in twenty twenty such important year for everyone. I can give you my My off-court analog to that I think we're all waiting to see which of these changes are stopgap in that means in life and not just a tennis We which of these are going to be a new way of life so our zoom good replace office and are we all going to be enjoying outdoor dining going forward and how much of this is just Emergency measure it. How much this heart and into our new reality. And i think at tennis we have the same thing that we haven't had a lot of match results I'm glad you hit on the ones we did. And i did have some really good tennis but i think a lot of the discussion has been about. How do we broadcast sport. How do we travel the australian open falsifying dough high then charter private planes for everyone to then quarantine them austrailia. And we have events moving. And we've experimented with different formats for tennis and i think if any good has come out of this year it has been that tennis has finally decided to innovate to cooperate. It's not always been perfect. But i think there's a real sort of spirit of enterprise it hasn't always been around the sport in some of this was the society Some of this was just trying to salvage events and put some some money in player's pockets. But i do really hope that. This spirit of enterprise. We can do things a little bit different than we break some models. We can defy conventional wisdom. We can try and shift dates around if miami has to be played for one year in the middle east so be it and if indian wells gets moved to october and everybody stops in the desert on their way to from china so be it. I hope that this is one of the legacy of this. This unhappy year is that tennis has a lot more liability and is a lot. More nibble has the job of its flexibility on the court. It can do the splits.

Was Tour Manager for the most part, but he also was. A fixer, a pragmatists they council guidance counselor. Model John It's It's a pleasure. I have to congratulate you in that You know it's to be quite Khuda get both Jerry. Seinfeld, and Weller Evans. As interviews within a month of one another. Low Bar just make a few jokes in Yiddish and everyone everyone goes home. Happy. No but we passed up no opportunity to talk tennis and I was saying in the Intro I feel like you are. You're the perfect person to help make some sense of these strange times because you are someone, it's always understood the mechanics and have the insider perspective. and. Our Voice of reason and I figured I wanNA hear a bit about your backstory in some sort of historic progressives. But but help us make sense of tennis in Twenty Twenty How How are you sensing? This is going and what's your take on sort of gray tennis in this work around year? Well I think we're fortunate to be playing tennis at all and to actually have had. Three of the four slams played. This year I think is a remarkable accomplishment. Don't you? Yep Absolutely. especially. Given the challenges of of tennis compared to other sports You know it's it's not it's not as simple as. You, you've got thirty teens in everyone's GonNa, lock themselves in a bubble together. To, two hundred and fifty six players from all over the world is is a big challenge. What do you make about the rest of it? I? Mean we have. Cologne one in Cologne to this week, which sounds like Competing. Hugo boss. Fragrance collection we have carry over points we have. To joke of, it's not playing Paris because he's disincentivize because of the point structure what's your take on? Tennis outside of outside of the three majors we were able to play. Well just. To sort of focus for a second on the ranking system. And and what we had to do and I apologize in advance for referring. To. The ATP as we but when you work for an Organization for twenty five years and you stay so closely connected to it it's inevitable that you end up referring to what they do as as we but. You know. The ranking system has to be addressed. Once we took such a long off from tournaments. and. You enter. That challenge you know with the premise that there's not going to be a perfect system. Heck. Probably, our current ranking system is not perfect. But realizing that there's probably not even an optimum way to accomplish all that needs to be accomplished. So is it? It really was a challenge for sure but You know I think the ATP's priority was always to. Try to continue to have a fair and accurate evaluation of. Player on court performance, which also has credibility with our fans and I think if you look at the rankings as they currently stand I, think the ADP has accomplished. You know accomplish that goal. With Roger. Not Be fit enough to play the world tour finals I would. Like to think that a a guy who's been really hot since we return to the court Andrei Rubel who actually was was. INFLA-. Go even before the suspension is going to make the world tour finals I'm sure there are people who? Are. Going ask. Why Medvedev? is going to be in there when he hasn't really. You. Duplicated. The success that he had last year an-and. CARNOT boost has. Left back into everybody's consciousness and. He may or may not make it to London. So I'm sure they'll be people who. You might question that but I think on the whole the ranking system and the rankings that we have currently even given the the cogut accommodations that were made. With with our fats.

New York Giants Confirm Saquon Barkley Tore ACL, Out For The Season
"There are terrible injuries all over the NFL yesterday alone. Nick. Bosa. From the niners Saquon Barkley from the giants both suffered torn ACL statistics show that through two weeks nfl record twice as many significant injuries as last year. It's actually at least six players suffered a torn acl including just recently Seattle Seahawks linebacker Bruce Irvin Eleven, injuries to starters in the one o'clock games alone John Do you think these injuries have something to do with the fact that there were no preseason games. Well. For example, the Rams don't play any of their starters in preseason games I think is in the spirit of your question i. think it has something to do with no camp no real camp they kind of shotgun training camp and I don't know how you could make the opposite argument that it has nothing to do with it. I wouldn't tied to preseason games what I would do it to the fact that there was very little tackling. Yes in. The game started and the other thing is I know Kyle Shanahan the niners felt like the field wasn't ready like the field I think he played in the meadowlands and he's got play there again next week because he played the jets and now he's GonNa, play the giants. Players on both teams going down. So I don't necessarily think that the facilities were one hundred percent prepared either I think again, I think the spirit of your question is the fact that they fast tracked everything and started the season. Because of Covid is that having any do with the injuries I don't know how you could say it doesn't I think it has to yeah. I mean I I completely agree I mean between training camp and preseason games where guys at least get a sense for what they get a reminder of what getting hit is like. I think they're I think they would be better off. It is an extraordinary number of injuries and none worse than Christian McCaffrey who's gone for four to six weeks and his the stalwart of my fantasy team just loyal to John Ireland how about? Yeah. I cleaned your clock thinking Matt Ryan. But. How about how about Saquon out for the year? Yeah. Entirely out for the year Bosa gone for the with a tornado. And that means that the giants I. It might be a race between the giants and the jets who the worst team football is. The whole new. York City area has to just garbage football teams because the jets are a mess and now the giants have no running game. So it's going to have it's going to have after-effects. All these

New Looney Tunes Series Hits HBO Max, With New Music
"Bugs Bunny is back white BJ Wiedemann, who does her theme music, The West Go a weapon in his pal Start anew. Looney Tune Siri's on HBO, Max. And it wouldn't be loony tunes with that loony tunes. The soundtrack album for the New Syriza's Out, Tim Grieving has the story. The new Looney Tunes still opens with that theme. They wouldn't dare change that, but everything that follows needed a new composer. There was certainly intimidating. Joshua Moshier is one of two composers for the new Looney Tunes. I Come at this from jazz background, and when you learn to play that music, you just embody the language of these musicians that you look up to. And so I really approached Carl stalling the same way Carl Stalling was the big goon of cartoon scoring. He started with silly symphonies at Disney, but he made his name a Warner brothers starting in the 19 thirties, where he scored more than 700 cartoons. Stalling applied. The same techniques had learned as an organist accompanying silent films reacting and improvising toe onscreen antics and using existing classical pieces and popular Theo Orchestra runs upstairs tiptoes and gets bonked on the head along with the characters no matter what you anyway, Don't you even know I already have one. John Powell is the Oscar nominated composer of animated features like How to Train Your Dragon and Kung Fu Panda, Even though he's not part of the new Looney Tunes. He feels Carl Stallings influence so strongly that he uses a sort of Richter scale with directors that he calls the stalling number, You know. So if you say Okay, we only need a story number of two here. That basically means, you know, Tone it down. Don't hit things don't don't go for the musical juggler Calm down, but if madness and shoes in the cartoon world Why not have fun with it? So new Looney Tunes composer Joshua Moshe had some acne sized shoes to fill, and even though he's never scored a show like this before He's actually been preparing for a while. I was always experimenting with how could I do a Carl stalling kind of sound on my own, even going back to college, and I had some experiments that I found on old hard drive said. I threw together on a riel motion submitted that really in an open casting call and got the job. He recorded a full orchestra on the Warner Brothers lot for the 1st 2 cartoons, and for the rest, he had a chamber ensemble of six players at Capitol Studios. There's cartoons like the road runner. And the coyote where there's no dialogue, except for a few minutes. The first time I worked on with those It just looked like this big blank slate. But you realize oh, the dialogue is the music the coyote. His dialogue is below meandering soon. Road Runner, you know, we reference the classical piece dance of the comedians. Joshua motion has infused HBO Max's new Looney tunes with Carl stalling spirit and added some twists of his own like bebop, but the main thing he carried over from stalling Writing seriously funny music. What's so great about Looney Tunes is that they are caricatures, and it allows the music to be a caricature. It's just such a joy to me to participate. In the comedy in an overt way and be part of what's making people laugh. That's all folks for
