"In detail. Downtown LA is different than the world. You know, a farm, but they need to be able to live securely and safely in the world that they're in. And how do we do that? We got to create secure elation ships for them, right? And we have to teach them that securely ships are where it's at otherwise, just like humans they will go after insecure relationships. This is. Man. I, I learned so much. Okay. So your show tell us all about it. When is it debut when can people find you and what is it about? It's a cooking show. Tune it in. What happened is. I think a lot of people may may know because we've got a lot of feedback Lena Dunham. We're we work at a lot of different people, and, and don't share. So I'm I'm only sharing because she did Lena Dunham went public about two years ago, we had helped her with one of her dogs, her dog Lammi and, and she posted. And, you know, there's positive negative, there's always a lot of response to what she has to say. And then she sent me an Email, and she's, she's hits, I just posted, just outed you about two hours ago, you're probably going to get some attention. And the with two, you know, we started getting calls from people who are interested in making a show almost out of the gate. I found a dynamite landed with a dynamite company. Hainan entertainment, based on Colorado just lot of integrity. And, and then Hainan shop did, and we landed with NAT geo wild, which for me going back to whatever saying earlier watching that Joe Walsh show, and that got me out of my head and into this world. So it's really. It's really something and the show is about what I do, but the dogs, it's in the home, it's out of acidity. It is, I've seen the rough cuts and it's just it's so compelling that I watched it and was afraid what was going to happen to Matt. Right. Right. Something. I mean I'm working with I would say the best people in the business to do something like this have incredible incredible team management team, and, and, and just the community around me. And they've been first rate in high noon, as a first rate, company, and Najia wild has been so great to work with. And, and this is my first foray into this four rates. My first time speaking English I four. So, so that's how that's how this whole thing came about. And we are tentatively set to air. I don't know that I'm allowed to announce the official date, but you actually may sounds like you. Online, 'cause I can't imagine that would have been sneaky that's been released but since they've already reached out to you. So the tentative air date is early September amazing dynamite spot. The lineup sounds like it's going to be great for the night that it's going to be on. We of six one hour episodes Najia wild green lit the show with no pilot. Eight-minute POC. And so everything is just come together. And I, I have long maintained that. I'm not zen dog. And, you know, may I always continue to say that there's something bigger than me happening because there's something that we can offer to the world about how we are in relationship with our dogs, that's different. And I got a chance to speak at the TC as in June, June. I got a chance to speak of the TA's several months ago when we first introduced the show officially and the point that I that I got a chance to drive home. Was that the conversation about dogs about how he trained dog started fifteen years ago, and I'm here to start a new conversation? And that is what if there are. No bad dogs. And if there are no bad dogs than somehow were not in right? Relationship with them. And I'm not a dog trainer. I'm actually teacher. That's what I do. And we have a chance to we have a chance to talk about this globally in a different way entirely. So. So I couldn't be in a better spot. And, and we'll see what happens in, of course, as you know, and probably a lot of people know, since Disney's on route to take over everything including all dogs. Every every dog will have a dizzying microchip a little Mickey Mouse. Here's microchip. And you can program what I color you on thing. Disney Disney came in, you know. And again, I couldn't ask.

"Brian Lino Logan Smith. Dylan. Lucas we had a response by a fuck. What's guy's name? Hold on. You stay right there. I don't know even having a lot of writers, come on the lads podcast. So that's been really cool. So if you want to write for us, just send me a blog K Pettit. Six one hour gmaiLcom. I usually post them within a dab in bad. The past couple days, people have been sending me blogs, but a new one should be going up this morning by rob. So rob. Some writing some really, you know you're at one about the playoffs in EPL and his position was that he was totally against against it. And I actually did a whole pie cast with him and the fucking Skype of course and pick up my microphone. So I couldn't it was just unusable. It was essentially sounded like Chernobyl. It was just like. Like just fucking nothing. But. Find the guy's name anyway. There's been a lot of people writing for us allies, and that's been really, really sweet. Thank you guys. We also got new t shirts that I designed has our logo and a front on a black shirt, and then traditional man with a moustache on our social media, if you wanna check it out, got a lot of good responses, people seem to be really digging. So I plan on place in that order when we get back. So as I fucking throat. Anyway. What else is going on? Oh, yeah. This whole neymar thing has been really pissing me off this whole like him, just being crybaby and once out of PS g when he wanted to go there like no one forced him to go to PS g he wanted to go there to get out of the shadow of messy. And now Barcelona really wants him back, which I don't know why like like you like unless it's like he will be second fiddle to messy like. The guy has been nothing but just the disappointment at PS g like really like they bought him to go farther in the Champions League. And they're still not anywhere close and is off the field allegations and shit. He's got like, and the guy is just been just these, he's got such a punishable face now. Like, I don't know. Like. I'm just like when I see neymar as this fucking guy, he's just like this guy now you know what I mean? I feel like he'd be like, you know, finger gun guy, I don't know. Maybe he went to PS Gino was talking about him and his sister. I don't know. Oh man. No, no. I guess Barcelona. I mean, you would pick him over grease Mun terms of talent. But I mean if he's going to be such a headache, like I like grease men more, even though he's kind of, in that whole like, you know, neymar like playing for like fame shit like, you know, did a whole documentary like I will not leave. And now he goes, I don't know. Maybe because there's more leadership at Barcelona than PS g obviously. I mean, at least Barcelona has a culture and a history compared to PS gee, maybe they'll be able to keep him in line. I don't know. I mean when MSN was absolutely like at their peak. It was unstoppable, in mazing to watch him Suarez a messy. I mean trouble winning unbelievable goal record setting is like one of the greatest trio's we ever saw play. So I like to see that entertaining fucking soccer. So that'd be kinda cool. Oh, what do you guys make this? Someone posted the order of, like how to rank all the Premier League leagues and THEO, stop sign mcadoo fucking with my shit. And I thought he was right. But the our Facebook did not agree people lost their goddamn ship. It goes one Premier League dot dot dot to Lally three Syria dot dot four Bundesliga five league overeats. I didn't want to exactly I didn't want to think about I don't want to give this individual power of me. Now, I didn't want to think about these things. But one of the reasons I'm glad I did stay with this insight, and I go and see Teagan because he discovered next. Right. So was it on this study and people although sandiego of them indicate that experience shelter trauma. That was told. Don't call them back. But next time they come in sight to them something like this. I see that when you were child was sexually abused or whatever the nature of the Beatles. I'm really sorry. That happened to you. I should never have happened. Would you like to talk about it? Forty percent of people said don't want to talk about it. But sixty percent of people did want to talk about it. And they wanna talk about it on average for five minutes was extrordinary was just is five minutes of an authority figure saying I'm so sorry about should never happened alone. So we know that shame destroys ING physically. Mentally destroys during the crisis openly gay men died on average two years to the closeted gay men. Even when they go healthcare at the same time. Right. Shame is desperately physically destructive and mentally destructive. And those things, of course, entirely you've done most welcome. And giving people a way to release the shame. I've been trying to distrust. I'm not suspended. The doctor had said to me has anything happened to you. The major is I would not have been able to talk about it. Anyway. It was really significant. The story. I was told diverted me from that story now with my complicity for sure. And I think I would have been able to deal with my depression much earlier. "Now there are times that I just wanna say my big fat Greek wedding. I'm probably sure you're going to hear that Travis. Yeah. Already have. I don't want to burst your bubble. I already asked won't be won't be the first won't be the last. Now, we had somebody on Facebook ask actually wanted to know she's got a dog. And it's it's about ten pounds. I can't remember what breed it was. But actually, what makes Mike. How do you know if a dog is overweight? Yeah. That's a great question. So there's to kind of do it yourself test. You can do at home. The first one is what I call the hand test. You wanna be able to run your hands gently and lightly over the side of your pets, primarily a dog or a cat and you want to be able to feel that ribs exists. But you don't want to visually be able to see rich protruding from at side. So this does happen a lot where we're all be with owners, and they'll do it, and they'll have an overweight that and they'll jam their fingers through the fat on the pet side. And they'll say others ribs in there. I can feel him. And I will now that's that's the feeding. Purpose. So there is a trick to it. You just want to slightly run your hands over and you wanna feel the ribs exists in the second one. Is you could check a body condition score for pets, and you could just Google this look at images, you can see actual pictures of cats or dogs either drawings or actual pictures, and then you can compare your your pets figure to the body condition score. And there's two tests a one out of ten or sorry one out of nine scale. And then there's a one out of five scale, but the one out of nine scale you wanna be somewhere in the five. And and that's exactly where you want to be were you kind of have the hourglass figure and that you can feel ribs exists. But you don't want to be able to see them protruding out of the sides. Of course, you know, a lot of people also say too, it's not the pet. It's the parents. So what do you do on on the show? My big fat pet makeover to actually educate the parents. Is there something that you put her through? Yeah. So we do, you know, actually in in the very first episode that you'll see on the thirtieth the two. Owners. I think they reached the point where they realized that they're beagle. Was overweight. But in order for them to understand what it was like we needed them to feel it. So you know, the beagle was somewhere around twenty percent. Overweight of its of its of its ideal body weight. So we took that twenty percent and put it on the husband's at the dad. And of course, you know, he was somewhere around one ninety two hundred pounds. So you know, that was a lot of weight on him. So he was carrying kettlebells he had a weighted vest. He had ankle weights on and you put them is like, oh, this isn't too bad and we made him start walking. And after about ten minutes almost came to tears. She said, I just can't imagine that my dog deals like this on a daily basis, and it was that kind of you know, realization that kind of you know, that, you know, kinda come to Jesus moment that really made him invested in and fixing the problem. I know during the break in Karen, and I were watching your trailer again in carrying got to see the fat cat trying to get through the door. But there are some techniques that you actually use there is like a wheel it was like a cat wheel. That was pretty interesting. It was it was. That's exactly right. And that's exactly how it looks like a giant hamster wheel. And and you know, we we actually in an external daisy. No. And you, you know, as well, there's multiple ways to motivate our pets, and and food is one of them. But obviously toys and praise are great ways. But but these a lot of them were so lazy that you gotta toy. And they just looked at you like, you're a crazy person, you know, and you cheered them on. And they just looked at you like not worth it. And so one of the tricks. We used was once we put him on the diet plan. We would actually use the food from there, you know, reduced meal portion to motivate them to lose weight. So it almost seems counterproductive, but because it fell within their diet we could actually use their food to get them to exercise. So with that cats, exactly what we. Did you know we reduced the food? We got it to the right amount to help him get his ideal weight. We've got him on that wheel. And he looks at that food. And he said whatever you need me to do sign me up, and we got him moving. That's cool. Is he is he still maintaining his new, wait. He is. You know, I think you'll see his name was bone nugget. I think you'll see him in the second or third episode. This you this their family was a great example of we can't help the pet if we can't get through to the owners we have to start with the owners, and for me, I think that's what makes this show. So special is I don't just go in and just in on the pet like it's all about getting through to the owners, and we do check in. So the way it works. Is there six one hour episodes? You follow to pets per episode from beginning to end the whole makeover. So we show up on day one we assess it, wow, there's big problems. We come back with a check in and see where everybody's at. We'll Bono gets parents. They were filling that denial group and they said, well, he meows. He kept giving him food. And so they didn't see the results right off the bat. You know, it took a little took a little bit of, you know, elbow nudging to get them moving in the right direction. And once they bought in bone nuggets started to lose the weight, and you know, he he now at this point has become a huge success story. So how long is the period of of your time with these Fettes question, John, so four months, and you know, that's another thing that it's important for us to understand is that most almost all the pets. We were very successful not to give away ending. 'cause you success is is is relative, right? Everybody likes to see a makeover though. So it doesn't matter if you like to see them make over, but when you because it's a reality show, and we don't have years to do it. You know, you don't see, you know, in all the pets of visual complete change because we only have four months, and and that's can only lose weight in a healthy way. A certain. Percentage of of weight. So so for dogs we're looking at three to five percent of their body weight per month that they should only be losing to stay healthy. And then cats it can be somewhere around five to eight percent of their body weight per month. So in the four months, you know, the bigger the pet. I got I got gotta say to you. I mean, it sounds like it's definitely going to be. They were moving. They were active you cut off on us there for a little bit. But. It sounds like the program is going to be phenomenal. And it sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun, and you can't help yourself. I mean when when you look at some of these pets under that big it is a little bit of chuckle. Well, it is. Yeah, it is. And you know, a lot of people I've seen already making comments online. They're really being hard on these owners. And they're saying how could somebody lets her pet do that? How could they let him get that way? But you know, what what they need to understand is you can't walk into a situation like this and come into these owners and start to make them feel guilty. You can't come down on them. You can't that's not the way you motivate someone the same way we motivate pets. So I have to get the owners on my side. And you know, these pets they still they still have time to be safe. Right. So we do come in with a little bit of light heartedness. But there is a reality check with every owner where there's tough love. And and we have to face those facts. But that's what makes it so great for TV is, you know, people can watch it. They can do a lot of these things at home themselves, and we are not just changing the pets of the owners that they currently have. But we're changing the way they're gonna raise pets for the rest of their life. My big. Makeover. It's on starts on Saturday September thirtieth at ten pm eastern Pacific time on animal planet. Travis brorsson. Thank you so much for joining us here on talking pets. Great pleasure. And I wish you the best of luck with the show. It sounds like it's going to be successful. "But that is like one to me that was like one of mid-sized great gifts to the world of stand up comedy is she allowed a place where there was a simultaneous deep respect for an art form mixed in with an understanding that you gotta fuck and fail, and you gotta take risks. And you got it like do things that are not going to work to get to the place where things are going to work. Right. So I wanna talk to you about that. I'm interested in. Your work ethic because you have a really strong work ethic. And I think it's. Curious, and this many there are comments have like really strong work ethics. Not all of them. There's various types of comedians. Yeah. And some of them like George Carlin supposedly had like his next hour Ardy written when he was doing his our like he had file cabinets? Full, dude. Work eight hour days writing jokes. And you're one of those comics, it seems like is that true? It's interesting. I'm one of the I believe in doing a lot of spots. I believe in going up a lot at night. I don't necessarily sit down with a pen to paper to write my own standup jokes. I'll do that for like side jobs or corporate gigs, or you know, somebody offers me some crazy amount of money to write a roast for their birthday or something like that. Like, I'll get those offers and and things like that. And in that case, I can grind those out almost immediately. Like, it's like nothing. I just look at the statistics on the person or their jobs, or whatever and just start going. So that's always there. But as far as my stand up, my work ethic really lies in continuously going on the road continuously doing as long of a set as possible as I feel like the audience can truly with withstand and I've been doing that a lot. So like for example last week. I did six one hour sets in Chicago the week before that I did six one hour sets in Toronto and the week before that was a normal week of like four or five one hour sets in. Some some other city like, you know. It was like a Fort Wayne Cincinnati Cleveland to where I'm doing a different city each night for a long set. So what's happening right now is by the way, I would love to get back to that type of right now, I would love to get back to writing like a crazy person for myself all day. But since I haven't made a second one hour special yet, I'm continuously chiseling and reediting this long our that I do have which blessing and occurs nobody's knocking down the doors for a sort of not famous at all straight, white male. That does the covers I guess one could say edgy, topics. Right. But the good thing with that is that this hour just keeps getting tighter and tighter and tighter and tighter and tighter and tighter because it's been three years since I taped a special since I'm doing this hour e. Each night. You know, it it. I apply ING that crazy writers work ethic to still taking the chances in the hour that works so well tweak a little thing here and then tweak at the next day. And see exactly how it all comes together at once. So it's crazy is that a lot of famous comedians make a special as soon as they can. But me, not really having a chance to make a special right now is sort of helping me, but you know, once that happens, again, I'll reapply I can't wait to get to that daytime wake up go to the desert for a week, you know, and really right like start again. Do you? Did you to me? It's like, it's bizarre. I have never been a confident person. And like when I came out the way, I did everything was completely fumbling and bumbling imagine. Just we it's weird. But you like you're like I'm going to come. I'm going to drive from Ohio. Did you drive I flew just a backpack in like forty bucks? What the fuck? Yeah. I had a brother that live down here. In offered me his couch to sleep on for for a couple months. So I came out and wrote and wrote and wrote for my first three minutes at the claim. It's awesome. Seventies movies. It starts at the fucking banjo. You know what I mean?.

"Exactly what we did. You know, we reduced the food. We got into the right amount to help him get his ideal weight. We got him on that wheel, and he looked at that food and he said, whatever you need to do, sign me up and we got him moving. That's cool. Is he is he still maintaining his new wait. He is, you know, I think you'll see his name was VO nugget. I think you'll see him in the second or third episode. This what you this. Their family was a great example of we can't help the pet. If we can't get through to the owners the we have to start with the owners. And for me, I think that's what makes this show so special is I don't just go in and just key in on the pet, like it's all about getting through to the owners and we do a check in. So the way it's worked there six one hour episodes. You follow to pets per episode from beginning to end the whole makeover. So we show up on day one. We assess it, wow, there's big problems. We come back with a check in and see where everybody's at. Well, Bono gets parents. They were filling that denial group and they said, well. He meows we, kept giving him food and so they didn't see the results right off the bat. You know it took a little took a little bit. Of you know elbow nudging to get them moving in the right direction. And once they bought in bone nuggets. Started to lose, the, weight and you. Know he he now at this point has become a huge success. Story, so how long. Is the period of of your time with these, tests Question John of so four months and you know that's another thing that it's important for us to understand is that most almost all, the pets were very successful not. To give away ending, 'cause you success is is is relative right everybody likes to see a makeover so it doesn't matter if you like to see them make. Over because it's a reality show and we don't have years to do it you. Know you don't see you, know in, all the pets of. Visual complete change because we only have four months and and best can only lose weight in a. Healthy way, a certain percentage of of weight so so for, dogs we're, looking at three to five percent of their body weight. Per month that they should only be losing to stay healthy and then cats it can, be somewhere around five to eight percent of their body weight. Per month so in the four months you know the bigger the pet I gotta say to you I mean it sounds like it's definitely going to be they were moving they, were active you cut off on. Us there for a, little bit but it sounds like the program is going to be phenomenal and it sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun. And you can't help yourself I mean when when you look at some of these. Pets into that big it, is a, little bit of chuckle Well. It is. And yeah it is and you know a lot of. People I've seen. Already making comments online they're really being hard on these owners and they're saying how, could somebody lets her pet do that how could, they? Let him get that way but you know what they need to, understand is you can't walk into a situation like this and come into these owners and start to make them feel, guilty you can't come down on them you can't that's, not the, way you motivate someone. The same way we motivate pets so I have to get, the owners on my side and you know these pets they still they still have, time to be saved right so we do come in with a little bit of. A lightheartedness, but there is a reality, check with, every owner where there's tough love and we. Have to face. Face those facts. But that's what makes it so great for TV is, you know people can watch it they can do a lot. Of these things at home themselves and we are not just changing the pets of the owners. That they currently have but we're changing the way they're gonna raise pets for, the rest of their life my big Big fat, makeover it's on starts on Saturday September thirtieth at ten pm eastern Pacific time on animal planet Travis Bronson thank you, so much for joining us here on talking pets great, pleasure and, I wish you the. Best of luck with the show it sounds like it's going, to be successful I think John Karen daisy pleasure meeting you and thanks again for, having me on thank you take care best of luck with the with the fantastic. "How it looks like a giant hamster wheel and and you know, we, we actually in an external today the no and you, you know, as well, there's multiple ways to motivate our pets and and food is one of them. But obviously, toys and praise are great ways, but but these pets, a lot of them were so lazy that you got out of toy and they just looked at you like you were a crazy person, you know, and you cheered them on and they just looked at you like not worth it.
