And we're here to tell you all about it. As of January one two thousand nineteen so just a few days ago, DC enacted a plastic straw ban. That was similar to what Seattle had done in twenty eighteen where they also banned. Plastic straws Collins dictionary named single use their word of the year in twenty eight teen they've seen a fold increase in usage of the word since twenty thirteen and twenty two aquariums and seventeen different states are banning together to create no straw, November. A campaign to push eliminate single use plastic the F. Effort is led by the aquarium conservation partnership two hundred and fifty organizations responsible for twenty percent of the plastic. Packaging produced around the world have committed to reducing waste and pollution. Danish. Brewer Carlsberg will become the first beer producer to get rid of those plastic multi pack rings, you know, like those ones you see that fish get stuck in birds that usually hold like beer or soda together. And they've replaced it with re recyclable glue. Love it. I love it too. So these are all sort of these are all things that are happening around plastic because we have a problem with plastic. We do where people are taking steps organizations are taking steps and government is taking steps one of my favorite things that I've seen Colleen it's kind of soft ban on plastic straws is there there are some accessibility concerns about plastic stress. I think we've talked about that I'm past I've been going to restaurants reasonably where they have no straws or paper straws out. And then there's a little sign. That's. Says if you need a plastic straw, ask us we got out. Yeah. You know, they do when you think about straws I haven't done any research into this. But my instinct is there's not a great solution. But it'd be great to have sort of silicone or some sort of straw that. Isn't that is reusable? She sure because I've seen metal ones. But I don't want that clicking around in my mouth. And I don't know if I'd wanna use another person straw. Even if I know it's been cleaned. We'll see this could be your straw. They Neil strong. Yeah. You're Neil straw. Yeah. I'd be down for that. Oh, you're saying like at a restaurant getting. Yeah. If feels like they couldn't get it quite clean enough there. There is no way they could clean it enough. I have been anti straw. I'm happy to Pat myself on the back for this. I have been anti straw for fifteen twenty years shut up. I hate Stras super wasteful. I haven't anti strive for. Six months. Well, welcome to the family. I'm not mad. I'm not mad at anyone for becoming straw. Stroz are fun. They're fun to us. But there there's there's too many of them in the world, but small steps big semi's are bake steps. I mean, a whole campaign, no straw November. Again, I'm on board. Thanks for listening. Do you have good news incredible? Or maybe wanna tell us a joke or idea?
