"I moved to michigan and my first day in michigan. Moving from texas was halloween after the eighty four world series. I graduated college in bentiu or three years in the workforce there you are at eleven years old. I shouldn told that story. Should i have hold onto new grudge now and so i was just curious idea and the d. I don't know why i was all my friends. Were apple it's funny. How would you grow up. we're all thirteen. My friends got apple to apple two e.'s. And i ended up getting commodore sixty four and a might my hobby. My dad got me. He wrapped it is funny on. My dad loved pirating. Shit you pirated cable. He pirated games and software but he was called copy q. And i had that fifteen forty one district in the commodore and he thought this thing was like goal that i can copy Basically any discover so we would find people had commodores basically spend a whole afternoon. You know four hours would be like six games maybe and just shoebox full of Floppies with basically anything. You wanted to play so years ago. I was working for a guy who was one of the first twenty employees of of apple computer. And we're sitting on said. I'm sorry you said i twenty. Yeah wow this guy's a rockstar star. so we're we're sitting around. And i'm telling a story that i'd always told don't bragging about my first personal computer. Which was an apple two which you loaded the os and all the games from a cassette drive. I mean this is before eight. Eight track tapes. Were before two sets a guest but way way back. So i'm telling the story and you know hanging around with a bunch of millennials because it was a tech company and we're sitting there. I go through the whole story goes. I was the project manager for that. I was the product manager for that. Like oh pressing anybody at this table yet narrow and that was the thing i remember. My first was the commodore my first ibm clone. I got from right way computers on thirteen van And it was. I swear. I think it was twenty one hundred dollars if i'm not mistaken and you know i'm i'm fourteen fifteen. You know. I think the guy tried to sell. He sold my dad at ninety. Six hundred baud modems. "Anything to do with the Republic finally I'm directing my administration to develop policies and procedures to ensure taxpayer dollars are not going in any social media companies that S. free speech so I think he's done a very interesting thing here well Kaylee took this on took this topic on with the real message messaging that their white house once and that is that trump's being targeted and I think this is a this is unfortunate I'm gonna have to send some emails to the to the press group over there the Keighley runs and she's running her she's going over two minutes and she really needs she needs to talk in a little shorter sound bite by the way Kaylee has the background of this book have you looked at her George Washington University yeah I know she's got all that she has got a lot of emails from Raval maybe she wasn't aborted spoke like she had training and then like you know for whatever we go to probably got married yeah could be before before we play Keighley though just one drug information ma'am it's come to light I'm really new but we have an insider from on that team trump digital if you'd like to hear what team trump digital has to say about Twitter yes about the executive order okay go of course it is producer cannot be named trump was waiting for Jack to make his move people on the digital team here had no idea what to expect and I still don't think they know how to process it but if I may put on my no agenda hat isn't it weird how this week that Micah seemingly out of nowhere asked for trump to be banned from Twitter nothing provoked her trump only brought up the Scarborough thing after she mentioned banning him that's a time line that I didn't realize no no that's not true are you sure no yeah I'm totally sure because that where she first says I'm gonna have a job you're gonna hear from me is which she did that after her rant about trump's tweet I believe that okay could be I think that she started the banning thing before that but I don't know I'm just telling you what he was shot dead in she said in the in her commentary we played the clip she says I'm gonna call I'm gonna make a right I just I I drive **** about this before so she probably has yes that's but young said that this is what she had the meeting with Jack was after the tone in after her threat just as important to know what trump team digital thanks what they think is their reality so it's just as important to know what they think so this is good that there is that video floating around of Micah fawning over trump and even he said they Love Me not quite sure what that's probably where the confusion at all something that's pre election way that's an old old old thing yeah so really it's not that interesting than what we have someone on the inside if if it gets interesting but I'd I'd sounds like they're kind of not well informed if that's what they're going by saying that so this is and again this is from trump digital the law is outdated I don't think so written in nineteen ninety six when the only thing on the internet were message boards in these sites YouTube and Twitter mainly been exploiting this their benefit and for control no the law is not enforced but that's it I I'm happy to hear that that's the way they're thinking about it because it's incorrect thinking the law is very good no one enforced I don't think you need to change the law at all it seems quite clear you can take away losing the Cebu you don't want you can't do any other stuff done that's it so I don't know if we need all the you know every rights but that's clearly what they're hoping for and of course the same people who are saying this will change the internet as we know what are the same people who got their hair on fire about to net neutrality which course glad glad that it didn't happen and it turns out to be okay in fact even better because with the covert nineteen crisis if we had it net neutrality juror would be very it would be very pissed off about the buffering on Netflix instead the dude's name Ben are allowed to go and cheat the traffic and do what they need to so that you can watch on Netflix and do your telemedicine so let's hear what Kelly did did that this is it this was actually expanded upon by others which she has to say here but I think it's it's pretty complete this is a White House perspective that she's X. expressing I think she's doing a decent job of it and then finally before taking your questions I wanted to address what has been going on on Twitter and with social media I believe it is time to a quote get the facts about Twitter and other social media platforms targeting their bias against president trump and conservatives online if we were to judge the bias of Twitter and its top employees by their own words the case would be an easy one to make Twitter's head of site integrity has tweeted that there are quote actual **** in the White House and no fact check label is ever applied to this absolutely outrageous offensive and false claims made against the White House and its employees fact check false let's judge Twitter based on their actions not based on the words of its top employees in its actions are no better on president trump recently received a so called fact check label for it tweets it was a a false fact checking accurate fact check but never the last word or move forward with it Dan Scavino that deputy chief of staff here was the first user in the history of Twitter to receive a so called quote manipulated media label for posting a video that played a verbatim clicks it is no coincidence that these two unbelievable interventions by Twitter were targeted against the president of the United States and one of the president's top advisers this is biased in action and while big tech is quick to censor the president click to censor some of his top employees are they they are very reluctant it seems to label some of the actions by Chinese officials some of the misinformation that has been spread by China taken paid advertising that spread disinformation about China's mass imprisonment other religious minorities and Twitter has allowed Chinese officials to use its platforms to spread information information about the corona virus undermine the pro democracy protests in Hong Kong and more and then back in March a Chinese official began spreading a conspiracy theory on Twitter and egregious one better U. S. military was responsible for the spread of the corona virus and that tweet that disinformation it took all the way until today when we raise concerns about it to get a fact check so they appear to be very hastily eager to censor president trump and some of his employees but a little reluctant when it comes to China it's a bit befuddling you're right it's a little too long she lose if you lose the focus after about two minutes yeah that's why Mister Rogers neighborhood for two minutes I think you're right but yeah this could have been taken even further and some other people did it but the China focus is what the White House wanted other people have focused on the fact that the Ayatollah has a pretty much a Twitter account where he can say whatever he wants and it had to suppress what ever group he wants to suppress or say whatever your conduct if we're talking about the safety the safety of the community on Twitter yeah how about get me to some of these that riot porn videos in at this it's so inconsistent that it's obvious you know Jack was getting heat he got heat because the whole the whole world as Silicon Valley Democrat base is on this case that means god Micah yelling at him every every celebrity is always at Jack come on at Jack that Jack and Jack yeah sure this guy down at Jack and Jackie my buddy object I'm a celebrity at Jack's death it's so you know so he has pressure the menace pressure he's got shareholders what you gonna do all right here's as I think this will work Blum executive order I think they were they were they wanted this fight to see I don't know I don't know ma'am but it's all just being around in the margins because ultimately you federate or you die the future of the internet will not be these companies the true internet that we use "We're we're in baby number two okay so ninety seven thousand dollars on a line of credit and we just had one of those where my car is now transmission hold on we were two thousand dollars in costs more than with that work so right now one of my question is I looked at the car as no one I've died about five hundred dollars on a private could I borrow on my line of credit to get that part of the money to go back and forth to work so you have a thousand dollars saved and what's your household income hi one sixty five to one ninety for awhile great income okay and you have two cars are one cars for this one now that is a problem right right I got the okay but your wife has a car right okay and does she work outside the home yeah okay and coming here's the thing certainly the world is not "Well, I've been on the internet since nineteen Ninety-two back when we had like six hundred Baud modems three hundred Baud modem. So I have been on the internet for a long time. And in many ways, I feel very comfortable and more comfortable on the internet. So while I might have low self esteem in the physical world and the virtual world, I'm very confident. So where does that come from because you're freed from the constraints of your physical self in the virtual world, you can be anything. You can be anyone you can say that sort of witty retort that you never have when you're walking down the street, and someone says something mean to you for me onto. Twitter. I have it right there for whatever reason. I don't quite know why. But I just have that ability to say exactly what I want to say when I want to say it. So I don't feel as. Constrained by self-esteem because I just believe in my right to say what I want to say. And the thing is I don't go looking for trouble. I don't believe in being cruel. It's when you come to me with your nonsense that I pushed back, and so that also helps me to be confident because in general, I'm a kind and fun person. And I believe for the most part my online demeanor reflects that except I also love to complain by. Oh, it's my favorite thing. It feels so good it just like just to articulate these are my woes today. And it just feels really good. Yes. My you know, my stomach hurts. I didn't sleep enough. So I just enjoy complaining. I get it from my mother what you see is complaining might just be seen by somebody else's being honest about how you feel in bed feminist, you say you're full of longing and your full of envy, and so much of my envy is terrible. Most people if they felt that they were full of envy. And that envy was terrible would hide it. You don't know. There's no need again forty was a game changer. It really was. I just I love how you're just putting so much on that age change. She'll I think it was fine. The night last debut being thirty nine eleven fifty nine PM been forty like. Oh my God. I won the lottery. He'll no. But I also I mean, it just happens to be forty..

"More. Like never at least two that were close to that. I hope there's somebody from like EON productions who's listening who listens to the show. Damn that would have been a good title. If only. Oh, it's we just hit the the thirtieth anniversary of the World Wide Web. Which is yes, we did kind of crazy. I I certainly never heard of it in nineteen ninety nine or nineteen Eighty-nine. I forget when I heard of it though, I believe it was what was the app before. Nets Netscape was called Mazzola. I forget was called mosaic Maza, that's it mosaic. So I remember mosaic like one point, obviously, there are other people who were on it bef- before that. But thirty years was my first browser most positive, and once again, I can't I can't pinpoint it, and I think I probably could've like if I sit down and talk to people, but or not a bunch, but a few key people, you know, who are who sort of introduced me to it. But it had to be about ninety two for me. Maybe one that was when I got my first modem. Yeah. So what I remember? And I've said this before the show to good Dan wasn't. I was very young at the time. So maybe it'd be forgiven, but I would have been I would have been eating a lot of my own claim chowder on the future of the web. Where I bought the the web. I thought it was an interesting demo this isn't a mosaic era. But I was like, but it was so slow that I was like who the hell whatever use this. Because everything I was doing on the internet was all terminal based, you know, you would open determine Z term was the app on the MAC where you could dial into the school modems. And even if you didn't have a great modem even had like a ninety six hundred Baud modem or even twenty four hundred would be twenty four hundred was slow enough. We're even if you had a clean connection, if you're a good typist, you could probably type the buffer ninety six hundred got if you've got a phone call everything you did was fast. And that to me was the most important thing. I was simultaneously a MAC native MAC app. UI snob all of my computing and a total terminal snob for internet proactive. A better aid. Because it was fast. And it just seemed like this is what and it was also what the internet at the time was was built for it was built for these pure Tech's connections. But then you could log in longest part was just waiting for the modem to connect type elm, all of a sudden a whole screen was filled with their Email. You could see everything that was new, and then you could just sorta down arrow, right? Our return, you know, a couple of keys, you know, if you only had like three S's you'd be in and out and you'd be done, and whereas tried firing was eight at the time. Like you'd watch. Ev even clean connection you'd watch every page paint in. About him or interleave? Line over line. It'd be like fifty percent of the lines. We rented them. Now. We're going to go back and render. The other didn't wasn't that what we did with. We had like. Gif or J peg that had the you could. Now, this is before PNG. It was g wasn't invented yet. PNG was invented in the mid nineties. I don't want to go on a long sidetrack on it. But the backstory PNG is that Eunice what's Yuna Christ. They used to be a big computer company started with Yuna say, UNICEF. But that's the charity, but it was a company that held a pow thinks there's a company that held a patent on the Jeff format and they never enforced. It. I will put a link to the Wikipedia era, the Jif let's see what they say. But anyway, they held patent, but they didn't enforce it. And so the various web browsers used it because it was very efficient for certain images that JP wasn't for and then it took off and all of a sudden, they they had a very strong interest in forcing the patent before it expired, and it was such an old thing that it was..

"And it has a fairly limited distance in a fairly low panned with like less than a megabit often as little as fifty kilobits per second. Right. Right. So back back in the speed of dial up that way, dial up that that is only available one second in sixty for instance. Right. So it's it's that's the kind of speeds, you can imagine with a stutter. Mel swear it took in the home space. The it's about why fi I understand that. The for instance, the next revision of nest will have both wifi and fifteen dot four for instance, acting a bit as a gateway, but you know, peanut can kind of going everywhere. There's this thirty year old specification call. Called building automation controller network back net and it runs over R S four twenty two which is you know, it's the industrial version of the cable that used to connect your computer to your modem. Remember we had external modems, right? So take that magin that cable run it through the ceilings of every single commercial building in the world. That's what hooks up the that's what hooks up the air conditioning unit to the thing that controls it. Whether you're gonna get hot air cold air. No kidding. That's that's complain that when you go to complain my office too hot or too cold, they go and trying to tweak this, right? And so it runs it like ninety six hundred Baud, and it's being converted to run IP Cates. And what's the net be AC back net? Right. And so, you know, it's we're not gonna have devices in our in our on our person that are gonna interface to it. I mean, it's wires in the ceiling. Right. It's not wireless. But if things work, right? I should be able to query that sensor in the ceiling tells how will how hot my offices and illegitimately be able to complain. It's too hot..
