This is right off the bat the mantle to save. Oh we will we will. We will challenge. We will accept the challenge. We will take the challenge. We are challengers. We are going to be lockstep until we see them ourselves. That's a big one janus on the road in division and the fact by the way that he's been through it individually as a starter. I think is going to be a nice little leg up that we're not talking about. Which one are you guys. Had sean payton for coach of the year was you right. Tj i mean yes. This is one of those games where it's a division. It's a division and wouldn't that be amazing. Him eating ws is now like a thank a cool when we all made fun of him. Boito hard years ago i did we. And then the the famed nfl films moment when he was in tampa and he did give this whole long speech. This wasn't. I don't think it was the eating speech. It was another one where he gave his whole long speech. Trying to fire the tim up. And as it's going on you know it's gone on too long. And then you smash to him sit next to fitzpatrick sit next to ryan fitzpatrick and fitz is like good I'm gonna cut down a little bit like the mike. And and those are. The things is as as a when. You're a quarterback and you're starting quarterback in this league it undercuts you it undercuts with your teammates. Your teammates sense that they feel it. It's very very sensitive organism. That locker room in the nfl. Which is why. Marshall faulk came on yesterday and i asked him what you know. What do you make of the packers falling completely flat. And he's saying you know he's not totally don with the rogers off-season story yet and he doesn't think that part of the people in the locker room either in our point now to him you know. Hey you know the fact that he didn't wanna be there wasn't about. He didn't wanna play with his teammates. As a matter of fact the fact that he came back was an indication that he knew that this place was the best place for him. the win. 'cause the other options about forcing his way out to screw with management wasn't feasible for him even then there are some people that might not know you know and that video got posted at richeisenshow yesterday. So i guess. I would say like you'd throw a poll question. There like which team has the best chance to challenge the bucks this year. But i think the saints would beat beat the rest of the competition. Yep rob i think anybody who believes that chance to beat the bucks within the conference this year is not the cause not coming from within their. Nfc south house. It's coming from out west. Yeah right. I think so. Even if you put a poll question up packers saints anyone from the nfc west. Anyone from the nfc west was going to say like woosh. Division is the but no one's going to pick anybody from the east right. It's going to be the west right and you have to say the north. The division can't be the north. You know. I think that's our poll question. Today is the big challenge to go box in the nfc. Yes saints packers anyone from the nfc west cowboys just fun and put the cowboys. You're are you doing over there. You're right yeah. There's one thing..

"Michael Riedel in the morning. 7 10 W. O R. We'd like to welcome Robert Donnelly to the program. He and his wife, Linda, would literally flooded out of their home in Manville, New Jersey, Uh, they can't live there and we'll let Robert tell the story, but he did get to meet with President Biden yesterday. Robert. Good morning to you. Thanks for hopping on with us and give us the extent of what happened to your home. Good morning, And thanks for having me on, um Basically, the floodwaters came in very quickly. Uh, Covered the basement windows and then just started flowing into the basement. Very fast basement filled up very fast, and by the time it was full, it was at our front and backdoors. I started filling up the first floor. We moved up to the second floor where our son and daughter were. They were up there and we have my wife and daughter. Big animal lovers. So we have six cats and a big £100 dog that we have to get upstairs as well. By the time everyone was upstairs, there is probably two ft of water in the first floor, and by the time all was said, and done, there was Over three FT of water on the first floor. We tried to wait it out. Basically, uh Once a house that was about four lots from our house exploded literally, and we felt The earth shake We are we called for rescue and the The amazing rescuers showed up and got us all have all the cats kids. Me and my wife, giant dog that I have to carry through the have floodwaters. But we we made it out and I can't thank the rescuers enough. Robert, Where are you? Where you guys living now? We're at my, uh, my in laws house in Springfield. Mhm. Did they did they have to come by that? They have to come by boat to get you, Robert. Yeah. So? So what happened was, um They They were going around throughout the neighborhood and votes. Um and they would basically kind of knock on your door. We're really the second floor window and ask if you wanted to get out and some people said Yeah, you know, I'll take the boat right and most people exited through the second floor window. And we, like many of our neighbors said Well, we're going to. We're going to try to wave it out. But Uh, once, uh, once the house is, you know, clearly, appliances were being pulled out of walls with natural gas were filling up with gas and any kind of spark..

"Not sort of in in an academic office someplace shriek of horror. That went through my house is at. Kfc isn't even advertising. It's chicken tenders because of supply chain issues right. They're not even putting the ads on tv. And what is like the big season now super bowl's because there's just not there's no everywhere you look. We are seeing supply chain shortages. But why wouldn't that feed into. It's temporary it's a results of covert and and the chains and it'll work itself out and that is not something that's going to lead to an inflationary. Spiral wouldn't that lead into that argument. The supply chain issues may be temporary. But what's not temporary is the demand side and people's psychological belief that we now have inflation when you go into a store in shelves are empty. Wanna buy captured in the shelves. They're empty. What is the thought process. That goes through your mind. You think well. Next time. I go to the store and there's cap who they're gonna buy it all you know. Actually i have six cats which. I tell everybody all the time and i did this. The other day they had they had cat litter. I bought everything. 'cause i don't know what i'm gonna get it and so the act when people believe that there's going to be inflation. They act in such a way that actually causes inflation. My radio show ended back in july in the second to last radio show. I had peter out water on my show. And i said peter you know i think inflation is ninety percent psychology. Says i think it's a hundred percent psychology. It's all psychological and you know. We had this forty year period where where people believed that prices were going lower in. Instead of accelerating economic activity they could decelerating economic activities. So why don't have to buy this right now because the price is going to be lower. Lay there's no hurry to buy tv. It's five hundred bucks now. It's going to be four fifty next year and now the whole psychology has changed in everybody's in a hurry. That's so interesting and this explains why. Why no country. No central bank has been able to get a handle on inflation. They've they've been trying to use all these monetary tools That doesn't change the psychology behind it but but do you think that that is again like i know. We're all in that hoarding mode. Because of what happened is a first time. We haven't been able to find things and not only were. The price is going up but but we just couldn't find them so you do go. I want you don't even want to see what my basement looks. Like right now because we're still in that in that mindset but you don't think that's related at all to this extraordinary period of the pandemic and that once we go through you know a few months maybe even a year where things are plentiful. We don't have those lt empty shelves. You don't think we're going to revert back to the way we used to operate. I don't think it's going to get worse before it gets better. You know based on the things that. I'm hearing that i told you about. I think it's i think it's going to get worse before.

"I was shocked to hear how openly people around l. afc were saying we'd be surprised if he was still here for a club. That hasn't really talked like that in the past and so i think there's an acknowledgement of that. It's not hasn't worked perfectly and that the almost need to start to reset down for seeing that happening right now. I'm mark anthony as gone right. Then they move forward they move now rossi on. They tried to move Brian rodriguez on. That didn't quite work. But you'd expect that to happen at some point even if you just show that one highlight. I think like you're starting to see the wheels turning carl velez running. His contractors reportedly up at the end of the season. he barring him coming back with just lights out coming you know really crazy. The way carla has in the past. But that hasn't happened in a while. now it's been looking dating back a year and a half at this point so I think it's very hard to see that happen. I would love to see it. 'cause feels my probably favorite player to watch on a weekend but it just hasn't quite the same so i think you're starting to see l. Afc understanding we need to make some moves so we have to make some moves to give us some flexibility. And then i don't think it will be a full rebuild or reset. That's not the subway. This club works but partly because you're making smart moves here and there along the way. I do think i'll go bounce back again as i think. A caps their ceiling as far as what they can do this year. But i think they're having to take a little bit of a bigger picture. Look at at where there is a club and what their needs are. Let's i don't wanna miss out on the colorado rapids here. We go a little bit more time. They defeat the san. Jose earthquakes one zero in the eighty ninth minute. I think it was in the and a goal for dom body back in the burgundy full powered up down balji water water right there. This video people see me. I can't guards pumped up got like six cats now in the shot as well so the rapids are now seven. Game unbeaten one loss in the last twelve they ended san jose's ten game unbeaten run the colorado rapids have the best points per game in the western conference and the second best in major league soccer to new england so kaylin you gave us your little top of the east rundown are the rapids for real or the colorado rapids. Mls cup contenders are favorites. In your i mean. I'm going to i would definitely go towards contenders but i wasn't even sure that they were contenders for a while. And i gotta say like. I'm changing my tune to rapid. And you know. I think the knock was saying that they have.

"Maya McDonald wrote it a couple of days ago about a house in Albany Heart Albany Park, where an elderly man Died as his body was being removed. It was discovered that there were literally dozens of animals inside the house that the man I'm sure was doing his best to care for. Rescuers, according to Block Club Chicago got at least somewhere between 41 47 animals out. But then the people who owned the house now had apparently locked it up, and we're not letting anyone inside, and there were concerns that neighbors were reporting the block club Chicago That they had complained for months to animal Karen control and that there had been no response. Well, we reached out to animal care and control because we wanted to find out what was going on with the animals that were rescued. What's going on with any animals that may be locked up inside this house? And exactly what's being done about the whole situation. Jennifer a. Schluter, who is the public information officer, and Angela Rayburn, who is the operations manager at Chicago, Animal Care and Control. Join us now. Thank you so much guys for taking time out of your day. To address this story. I know you are both very busy and have lots of work to do. So first of all, let's thanks. First of all, Let's start with Do you believe that this house is still locked up and that there are potentially still animals inside? Um, hi. This is Jenny. So I've been I've been in communication with the rescues because their their colleagues advice from a while back in partners, and I have some of the cats and no As far as what I heard last, as the family did extend the period of time to help get the animals out so I think in the beginning, um they were they were some concern, but it sounds like in the end, they realize that we're all working together to help the animals and so they they're trying to cooperate with us to to get them out. I'm Jenny and Angela. I'd like you guys to talk about. The process when somebody files a complaint, you know sometimes what people will tell a reporter on the scene isn't always 100% accurate, but neighbors were reporting. That for months they had been reaching out to you guys, and they had gotten no response. Sure. So this Amandla I we actually have a reporting system through 311, which takes all of our calls. So that comes in For each department and we we Triage those calls. We didn't search back because we have just heard about this case recently. So we did a search back to see anything from that address. In the most recent call we have was from 8 12, which I believe is last Thursday. That was the first time anyone actually contacted us about this. This address And originally the email or the notification said there were eight cats. But the first time this person has called us right, and so what we did right and so what we did when we got that information was instruct them how to make the intake request, which they did, and we took in the cats, then the following Saturday, so You know, I just want to speak to what you said. When you mentioned sometimes people on the scene, say things I I don't doubt that neighbors were concerned, and that was probably chatter amongst them. And they might have reported it to. You know, I don't Maybe the alderman's up. I don't know, but certainly we didn't get any notifications about the case until August 12. That was the first time there was ever any filed the report on this address. Okay. Um, So you got the report August 12th. And you said that Saturday, which would have been the 14th. You removed eight cats. So where were the other 40 talk ahead, right? What happened on Saturday is At that time we we actually took in. We approved. Our supervisor had contacted the person that had called we were in contact with them. We approved to take six cats in around five o'clock on Saturday night. And then they ended up bringing in five cats. And then alongside that there were other rescuers working on track well, first of all, trapping but also placing additional cats. So we agreed to take that first group in right that Saturday after we had our first conversation with someone that was associated closely associated with the house, right, and I took for myself that day, and I'm fostering four of those cats at my house. So where are the cats now? And are they adoptable? Um, the cat. So far representing very under socialized, I think is the word that we want to use. So we've got a coalition of rescues that we're working with. The cats are being fostered in various places. They're starting to get Spain neuter, And so what we normally do in these types of situations is Angela mentioned, you know, we have to triage cases and so like One of the other things that happened, they I think maybe sometimes people don't realize is we had an office around the way I have to look back Saturday Saturday when the Highway Patrol called there was an injured deer in the middle of the road. He had to go and attend to that call. So you know, it's like we don't have that many officers available at any given time, and of public safety and assistance. Chicago police or fire are usually priority calls over situations like this, especially when we do have Partners working on it. We have been cooperating with them all along. We do have a plan to go and trap any remaining cats. And we do have a plan to do intake on those cats gradually as we have space, But I think that leads us into something and what I want to comment on in terms of the Black Club article, which we spoke with them today, too, and there's an update coming out. We I think that everyone knows. And I know you're a great animal lover. And so I'm happy to talk to you about this. Everybody knows that municipal shelters including Chicago animal can control often have a reputation as the pound or as sorry or as the killer shelter right? And we have been working so hard here, you know, for a really several years and really it's been a trend for over a decade where Our society is looking at companion animals differently. Our society expect that we provide service differently, especially when it comes to our companions are family members. People look at dogs and cats and you know many other animals as family members, and so we're not open here just to have the door open all day, taking animals all day out the front door and have him go out the back door that that's not what we're looking to do here anymore. And so we're working really, really hard to find innovative ways to put Partner to provide resources and to see what we can do to prevent animals from coming in, if at all possible, And so I think this is just one example of how we're working to do that. Well, I I understand that's like, um with anti cruelty. They have the safe program like if you were in a position where suddenly you can't care for your animal instead of having to give it up permanently. They find somebody like me who has taken their foster classes and I take the animal in whether it's for a few weeks. There are a couple of months until they get back on their feet or they finished recovering from their surgery or whatever, because the the optimum outcome is to keep the pets with the families. Right. And thank you so much for doing that. And I am on the phone with them at least once or twice a week, doing referrals to the safe program. And, um, yeah, And this is the thing I think you know, we're not operating a little silos anymore. We're not just kind of blindly accepting animals and not working harder. Look, we have to work harder. We have to be more innovative. But the people that are here are dedicated to finding live outcomes for the animals, but it you know, It looks easier in a way, but it's much harder to operate this way and people say, Oh, well, you're taking in fewer animals. It might be easier, but it's actually harder to do the work and figure out solutions always on the fly to situations like this to save their lives, But we think it's worthwhile work because that's what we're here to do is to save the animals into assist residents and to assist people to take care of them. And so that's that's what we're trying to do. When you put together a new programs or if you need if you're volunteer roster falls off. Please contact me because we will talk about this on the radio. Any time you feel you have something to say. Oh, I'll be on I'll be back with you in a company works for me. You're very welcome. And thanks so much. You know, sometimes you see the story and you just You never know how it turns out, And it's nice to know that everybody is working together to make a bad situation less bad in the coming days and months. Thank you, Angela. Thank you, Jenny. So much for being here, And I really do mean that I really do mean that I will have you back on the radio any time. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you so much. Oh, can I say one more thing? Sure, Sure, we have free adoptions. It's the busiest month of the year, which is part of the reason we're working to keep those cats out of here at the moment, free adoptions, all dogs, cats, two roosters for guinea pigs and a rabbit right now for free through September, 19th. Send us.

Let's see how this madden nfl. Twenty two checks in. And actually yeah. Okay got i was gonna say. I wrote that headline ryan and then i never bothered to follow up is that they do something weird with the name this year. They didn't bat an nfl. Two thousand twenty two review embargo is so we have a review roundup and things aren't looking great right now Metacritic has sixty six. That was at nine nineteen this morning so little more than an hour ago. Window central gave it in eighty over there. Anthony j nash road big changes to madden. Nfl twenty twenty big changes to madden nfl. Twenty two i wanna say twenty twenty two so bad ryan you know what i mean because you say that. These big changes madden. Nfl twenty two shows that ea sports knows what needs to be done to keep the long running franchise feeling fresh if you're a fan of football or the madden series. This is a must buy game for you however as we get going game informer doesn't necessarily agree they give it a seven Brian share rights despite its several technical issues. The on on the field action madden. Nfl twenty two continues to improve a small ways over. The upgrades in approved was largely overshadowed by the games problems and the series overall stagnation. Making it difficult recommend for week. One then over nigerian. They gave a six cat. Bailey road madden. Nfl twenty two is a grab bag of decent. If frequently underwhelming ideas hurt by poor execution face of the franchise to put it mildly as a mess home. Field advantage is a solid addition. But it doesn't quite catch the true extent of real onfield momentum swings the new interface interface is an eyesore and the new presentation is cast in a strange unflattering shade of sickly green. It's smoother in marginally more refine but in so many ways. It's the same old man in short if you're hoping for a massive leap forward for the series on the new generation of consoles parentheses or on the old ones. You're apt to be disappointed. Ouch this one of those. Like i don't know anthony o'brien but i know cat and played nfl. I've played madden with cat and ghana madden events with cats. Who have cats saying. It's a six that is not a good sign cat. Noser ship aches. Yeah i i remember. When series came out they friends over at xbox give me some codes for the madden games like the the series x version was late or didn't come out right away the whole thing or whatever and then i could never figure out like i had both versions on the on the console that never played right and then took like forty five minutes just to get into like starting a game and figuring out what my team was. I don't know. I'm an old man when it comes to sports games and i'm just like just a not for me anymore. Dude i what is up with that. Because i tweeted this yesterday 'cause i saw the madden and stuff getting close to popping and my life used to my summers dude at my my i remember. When i was doing summer jobs i would always have game facts open and it would be on the nc double a. Football board just talking about player ratings or talking about with a saw this new screen shot or something like that and like that game would come out. It would be all. I would play for a month. Every night i would. I would play through twenty years of dynasties everything and then madden was the same thing especially with neighboring characters. Over come like a month later you'd be able to bring your characters overnight game stuff go and that was obviously before that with genesis and stuff like that too. But i don't know what happened. Where i just lost it and i was trying to put into words yesterday like i think something do with the fact that like just playing the same game of football over and over against ai. Isn't like what i wanna do. Let alone i as busy you before i have. The kid is busy as i am. I really dedicate an entire week. The playing through tire season of going on. It's just so weird. I used to live and die for that. And i just don't even touch anymore. Yeah i think if you had someone someone to play like sitting on the couch next to like talking smack and having that kind of interaction it might be fine and might be fun but yeah what was the original xbox too with those are the two k. Game yeah yeah. Those are super fun. But yeah when you mentioned genesis. Yeah i was like you know. I was more mutant league football than even any of the the madden's but i had the madden cartridges. And everything those were. Probably more when i played these types of games. It's like a normal electrical switch and just above it this flick the switch off and they got the circuit and near the kids. You've got these tiny little not like that stays there. So it'd be interesting to get your feedback on how that works but one of the benefits and what were the costs. That contended that not laws. So yes what we did was when you have three bedrooms. There's a sort of common whole area if you will amongst all the bedrooms in the ball through we had one point we say decay run the cabling wife many bedrooms but give that power will the tom. You pay seventy six sense running nita for example stand cabling and you might by four dollars. Four shielded cabling for example. There's some circuits. We couldn't get away so we use shielded cabling. That's another thing so it's it's more expensive but in the scheme of things if you've got a half a million dollar bill of seven hundred thousand dollar build and this instead of the cabling and the electrical costing four thousand it might cost six thousand Because of the extra shilling cutting swing you look in the scheme of things. We will be individual of the cable. Yes it significantly more for these shielded things but to cable in this way send these circuits most circuits. It's not a big additional cost. Then running those tickets anywhere but you just sat one these on one second these on another nephew little extra points in the second boat. It's it's not a big expense. "And matchup advantage can help them overcome the loss of a true difference maker wide receiver like julio jones and that they can kind of scheme their way out of a kind of top heavy wide receiver group. I mean like they have calvin ridley who was obviously a wide receiver one but russell gauge. Probably best as a wide receiver three and they have just kind of a bunch of wide receiver. Three guys which is great for depth. But they don't necessarily have a second guy. That's a true threat at wide receiver after calvin ridley So they're going to be depending on pits to be basically that guy to be that high receiving threat because if anything happens to readily than it has to be pits as like game changer. Because there's not really anyone else that's going to fill that role so it's it's scary scary. It is saying he's not capable of doing. It is the fact that you're you're telling a young rookie tight end. Who's the highest tight ever. You're telling him we need you to mostly fill up julio's base no pressure. Yeah no we just need. You have to be julio your one but if you can just be you can be quitting. Taurus that'd be great you know if you can if you can just feel most of his shoes not all of them again. That's a lot to ask for for ricky tight in yet. Because it's i. I'm i'm a little nervous. I'll be honest with you. They have to me. They have the components to be a really good offense. I'm not talking like kansas city. Tampa bay top five. I thought they could have been that. With julio absolutely i. I think they have enough right now to be a really good offense but i even if pits who he is who can't be or even if he has a year i can't. I can't see this office unit as a whole being in a league. Yeah it's harder to see that. Like ceiling without julio here you don't have that. Truly elite like dominant possibility. Very much as cards without julio it kind of reminds me of like kansas. City's offense in a way which is obviously city has mahomes. Which is there like illegal talent but that team has a really good receiver anti tyreek hill and a great tight end and travis kelsey but like the rest of the offensive. Weapons aren't like none of them are really like hi. Andy lee guys there's a lot of contributors but it's more of whoever shows up on one particular sunday one sunday. Maybe sammy watkins. That gives them. You know six catches on another sunday. It made me the market. Roberts gives six cats as you know one day maybe hilar- who gives them. You know some receiving punch to make the difference but while it works in kansas city it works in kansas city. Because well they have. Andy reid mahomes saw right now. Homes and the offensive line notwithstanding last year due to lots of opt-outs injuries. Being pretty damn good so not so mitch. And you have. You have a never a talent in tyreek hill. Who are afraid of. Let's be quite honest. Take they're gonna play. They play tarried seniors of the ball. So i mean that's already gives them an eventually. Yeah we'll see what happens but really narrow but it's a lot has to go right this this this up and it's going to really show us like how much of a bonus arthur smith is like if he's as good as his stats show in tennessee where he took that offense from being kind of perennial perennially mediocre to the best red zone offense in the league by like a mile and you know a lot of other good sets along the way like that if he can do that here. In like tennessee's offense had some weapons but they weren't like absolutely stacked i mean they had. Aj brown had corey davis and they had jonnu smith but like outside of those the atlanta. You could say like oh well. Atlanta has you know calvin ridley in russell gauge and kyle pits and hayden. They have comparable weapons. But you know it just depends like is the scheme as good as we think it is and can the offensive line do that also silverback ruin. Well yeah derrick henry. That's important that's an important quit Yeah so we'll see if he needs a derrick henry to make that work or not but Yeah so we'll see. I know someone in the chat mentioned Zacchaeus zacchaeus has a role certainly more of a role now than you did before. But you know. I don't know how big of role it will be. Maybe it. maybe they've used a kiosk as a true contract. Maybe they view him as seaver three type of player. And you know now. We're going to get him on the field more that who gone so i think the key is zeke was always way too talented to be an undrafted free agent. It was always puzzling that he didn't get drafted so we'll see we'll see what happens there. We do have one last donation. Five dollars from george costanza show benefactor. Thank you george appreciate you. He says all right guys. We make that deep playoff run and the super bowl. I'm going to tweet leone. Ask him how the beaches since he wanted to go to brighter shores elsewhere i think pits could be our new. Julio jones in time. I assume he means yeah so. We're all hoping that. But that's just doing that yet. Don't put that on him but hopefully he's a very very good tight end. It will be interesting though to see how that offenses without arthur smith because you can look at the stats alone than see how much everybody improved when arthur smith took over as offensive coordinator All jalen hill had by far his best season. So it's a map ryan to the new ryan. Tannehill is going to be you know like an upgrade. I mean i don't see ryan tannehill haven't a better season than he did last year. Right all of a sudden tannahill is a elite quarterback. This football plays into that. When you seven rushing touchdowns as ryan tannehill did not. But yeah i mean. Yeah he he put up respectable numbers but am come on guys. Let's be to say that he was in a league. Passer gotta look at the numbers nail. They were twenty six in the league in passing last year. They well. it's a very old questions. Were reason it's a very intermediate scheme so of course the passing of stellar through the ball deep twice a game. They hit every time they threw it but they didn't exactly i mean they didn't bomb it. But that's kind of another thing about arthur smith. He doesn't throw a lot of deep bombs but they seem to work when he does throw them..

I'm Steve Inskeep, and I'm Rachel Martin. Good morning. Just 35 Republicans joined House Democrats approving legislation last night to create a commission investigating the January 6th attack on the U. S. Capitol. GOP co sponsor of the plan is New York Congressman John Cat Co. Here's what he said before the vote. I urge all of you in the body, all of you on both sides, not just my side and not just your side. All of us to set aside politics just this once, just this once. But top House and Senate Republican leaders came out against the plan just hours before the House vote, drawing ire from even some members of Capitol police. NPR congressional reporter Claudia Chrysalis is covering this and joins us now. Good morning, Claudia. Good morning, Rachel. So we'll remember the sounds and the images from that day right? Trump supporters stormed the capital building marauded around the offices of lawmakers. There were chance of hang Mike Pence by some And yet only 35. Republicans in the House of Representatives want to investigate this? Yes, write. It marks another loyalty test to former President Trump, who put pressure on top House Republican Kevin McCarthy and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell to reject it. And they followed suit, saying it's duplicative of other investigations and has to narrow the scope soon after a group of Capitol police officers anonymously sent a letter to lawmakers, expressing quote, profound disappointment for the opposition. It was inconceivable to see some members downplaying the events of January six Cat Co. In particular, struck an emotional note is he again reiterated this is not about politics and named officers, one by one who died after the insurrection or will left with physical and mental scars with sickle. Listen. Want these officers, their families to know that we're doing it, not for us. Not for politics. We're doing it for them. How did Republicans responded that Claudia? Well, we saw these 35 that you mentioned revolt and vote for the commission and this a sizeable, especially when we compared to the 10 House Republicans. Voted with Democrats for Trump's second impeachment for his role in the attack, and perhaps Cat Coe's remarks and others focusing on law enforcement. Embolden these GOP members. Ohio Democrat Tim Ryan was especially heated in his remarks on what this means for bipartisanship. Let's take a listen This is a slap in the face to every rank and file cop in the United States. If we're going to take on China, if we're going to rebuild the country if we're going to reverse climate change, we need to political parties in this country that are both living in reality, and you ain't one of them. That said, We saw some surprise GOP members break with their parties such as Illinois Congressman Rodney Davis. He's a key critic of Democrats and the top Republican on the committee that oversees Capitol police for wow striking clip from Congressman Ryan there so Let's think about the possibility that the commission actually goes forward. This would be modeled after the 9 11 panel that investigated theater tax on September 11th. How would this actually work? It's very similar to that panel with a sample shows a 10 member commission with half picked by Democrats, the other half by Republicans. It has bipartisan subpoena power, and it would have a report due by December. 31st. It came together four months after the attack, with House leaders designating the top members on the Homeland Security Committee to reach a deal before they oppose the plan in recent days. Does this have a chance in the Senate? Senate Majority leader Chuck Schumer said he's bringing the commission to the floor regardless of this GOP opposition. But Democrats need 10 Republicans to join them there, and they don't have that right now..

They arrested the chicken man. Oh was sitting in a tank. Wow yeah yeah. They would arrest chicken india. The chickens have rights in india. No the cows. Cow's do what they thought about chickens. Well they're finding him. Apparently that's draw. I didn't know. Cockfighting was a worldwide sport. Everyone loves a good cockfight so february. Twenty seventh twenty twenty one and this may not apply to everyone listening because this is more of a regional personality but it was very much a an inspirational show to us in the very beginning. You know we're celebrating our fifteenth year now and fifteen years ago. This was a very inspirational show to us. It was the russ martin. Show the host russ martin Dfw broadcasting legend Was found dead in his home. Not really surprising that he's gone because he's had so many health issues and other issues going on but it still sad nonetheless. I was hoping that he had been in and out of his radio show for a while and i was really hoping that you know he would get better. He was only sixty stearns older than that. And he's still going sign on a five year contract with syria. So i thought you know maybe whatever issue russ was going through that he would get over it and get back to normal. Get in shape and start doing show again and and then just retire. Do a final episode. Like who's i got rush limbaugh now the other racist guy don imus dina a all. These guys do some sort of like final broadcast and in dallas. We've had to what i what i consider to icon. Personalities kid critic and russ martin kid was on the air the day before he died so i guess that was his final broadcast but he never was like a farewell broadcast. When i mean. These guys didn't get a chance to retire. They died during their their stint on on air. And so Great personalities here in dallas lotta great radio shows but nobody likes these two icons and both those shows i listen to religiously you know. I always looked at as the white knight he was the family. Friendly guy Non-offensive just the life of the party and russell's more the dark horse the dark night. He was more of the not really shot. He just did his own thing but it was more kind of a dark humor situation and growing up. I always thought. I'm going to be the kid crat. I'm going to be the white knight. But as i got older i realized personality as poor russ mart. And it's more fun to be the plug night. Yeah and i realized that like breast and really liked people. I don't like people. I don't like to go out. Russ has a batmobile or had two of them at one point a mock five monsters try. He was a very big collector of tv. Cars was a big fan of the nine hundred six batman so am i grew up on that because of my dad so there was a lot of stuff i related to as much as i didn't want to To russ and even the way the style of our original show was kind of modeled unintentionally but kind of modeling after his show. It was very unique. There's nobody that really broadcast. Did like russ martin. I kinda see myself. As the lovechild between kid craddock and russ martin with way less talent and creativity. Would you guys see that Well the thing is. I love child of those two iconic. Caster see the kid critic all these. I don't know the russ smart ones. Because i didn't really listen to us. Martin i'll get adding I'll be turning a my My resignation yeah. He's do But no but. I always knew of him. Yeah And i think if you listen to the show and you listen to him and his prime you'd be like oh yeah that's kind of old do will the way it is michael so the and this has nothing against the guy but the it was almost dead Lane in here as gross you out. I just remember the people that always told me kasha. The people are always told me that. I need to listen to the sky where people that i didn't take their opinions. That series missed out. Well possibly did but It was always described it like it was just around table of guys just talking about random stuff more than now they. They do it better than anyone else could. Everyone tries to do it now with their podcasting in their little livestreams. Whatever that's cute tons of bids not gonna be a way that they would do. It felt like it was just a bunch of dudes sitting around conversation. Sure like they were really good and you wanted to be at that table. That's what was the raw especially when they left the mics off. Yeah a lot of stuff we do here on this show at that because that's just become second nature was because i really liked the way that show did it like the the mike. Cutoffs kind of jumping right in without introductions. You know things like that that kind of stuff little subtle stuff like that. I really really enjoyed and honesty. If it wasn't for the rest martin show we never would have got our voice guy. Mike elmore so fifteen years ago We started doing the magas vala show and my space was big at the time. And we would push out our episodes on my space and we got a lot of a lot of tracking. Nobody was really doing what we were doing. At the time and a guy by the of mike elmore hits me up and says hey. I really like your show. It reminds me of a show in dallas. When i used to in radio. They're called the russ martin show not sure if you've ever heard of it because i'm interested in doing some voice work for you if you're interested and fifteen years later mike is still the official voice the show. He is Somebody i look up to kind of an older brother. I've called them in multiple times. When i'm in a business deal and i don't know what i'm doing or what i'm supposed to do. I can call him. He always answered the phone. He's just been A fantastic Influence on me and and the show over the years and we never would have got him. If it wasn't for the russ martin show so at the risk of speaking ill about the dead frowned upon i am i am and you know 'cause like this is something that i had heard or i don't know why would get the supreme about the guy but was he kind of an asshole. Oh yeah that's great. That was his personnel. He would hang up on people. Yeah you got tired of somebody tell you. Just hang up on all right. Well i do that. I do that already. But yeah he would yell at a staff during the the shows. It makes be super awkward. You like oh give me more of this see. I think that's why. I didn't really watch it of that. And there was there. There was a time there was a time. A long time ago. Rags credit uc l. kelly all the time and bring her to tears and they'd be super awkward. I i would see what happens next. I wanna listen to it. But there was a time where i wanted to be in some way involved in broadcasting I'm sorry we didn't fulfill that. Yeah yeah mostly it was. It was sports related boring stuff. I got yeah so you wouldn't understand right. Sounds like have you ever been a football game. I think of the only football game of been as lingerie football. They had it here in dallas. It was the world's worst game it was thirty minutes long. He still had to have something called and like in. Some chick like was explaining the rules to you. Now with my buddy ryan no but it would have been funny if there's a girl like breaking the rules here there's no rules. It was thirty minutes a full game in the freezing cold with girls in bikinis essentially great. I think we have someone coming into a lot of these girls on. Explain the i didn't know anything about it and explain it. I had a lot of those girls on the show back in the day but going back to rutta even asked one out one time but go back to. Russia is never responded to it started. Then i talked about it on the air and she just another minute alone. I'm just trying to think about allied. Now who's disrespecting the dead. You know what though it's because i wasn't black if i was black. She would've taken me like a moth to light. Where are we. Where are we right now. Joe where are we. I'm thinking about the past and what my life could have been how she was so fine adequate doing this. During the show man we would have had athlete babies. I a billionaire by now platinum busted leg. He's in his own mind. What's going on. We need to come in there and get you man. He's trapped in the vojtech not enter that room. Not even if this old. Mtv's shows you can just like the thought bubbles look like next or whatever is that blind date was a blind date on jacker. Yeah no no. He didn't change your heart of hearts. The car you're lying date was also that did have the thought bubble did blind date and they were in the car and guy dragging the taxi or what is there. Also there's also a fifth wheel fifth wheel and then and then after fifth wheel cheaters. That was the late night lineup on channel. Twenty one or whatever. I could see michael. I'm blind date. We've gotta get that julie drop here. She's here. I can just do it i can. Do it live anywhere where you're saying. Sorry i i didn't. I didn't watch it because it was. The sky had a reputation for being an asshole. And i didn't want to. I would've base like or or form any kind of real opinion about the radio industry and be like hey. That's the way that should be done. I i was really into like watching really professionally done stuff and like how. There was a certain method to being on air and structured in an russ martin was not the right there would shut. That's why dead air was their friend. That's why that's why my my real first introduction to like talk radio in dallas was actually with. Espn radio because it was all about sports right and then spider got me hooked on the ticket and it's kinda sounded like well. If you like the ticket. I would've loved. Russ martin. yeah they had. I mean they weren't those tickets shows aren't as but it's the it's a similar style. I think if you if kid chronic and russ martin never did their shows here in dallas. You wouldn't have the shows that you have now. You wouldn't have gordon keith. Those kind of guys. I think all of those guys just like me were inspired by the russ martin's and kit craddock sam. Dan o'malley dan o'malley so Dan o'malley is basically. Now the host of the russ martin show has been for probably the past two or three years. because russ's men in an out Is doing a stellar job. I've i've met dan a few times at vickery actually And he's always been super nice. But i never got a chance to really talk to him and get to know them and so we had an idea for the green room where season two was going gonna be kind of tv and radio professionals in the dfw area. And i would bring him here in the studio and talk to them and we had this thing we were working over a year ago and then cove it happened and kind of the for loop so i hit up dan again and dan's like yeah. I'll come in and do it so a few months ago. I didn't interview with dan. Same day did alan alda at six. Am so i was. I didn't get any sleep the night before because i have bouts of insomnia. Sometimes it just happened to hit the day. I had two big interviews. I was really hoping this. Dan o'malley and we would be just fantastic and i wanted to be present for it and it. I don't know where my head was. I was sitting here in this chair talking to dan and i love danny. Was we each year for like two hours. We talked probably thirty minutes before the show before we even started the interview. We talked for fifteen minutes on tape recording cassette here and then we did an hour and fifteen minute interview and then probably talk for another thirty minutes afterwards. He was great. But i felt like i wasn't present most the time because i was just so exhausted. All right So we kinda sat on that interview one because we want to just kind of put it out with the season. Two of the green room also. Because i didn't. I didn't think it was that great but since russ died i thought it would be good to go ahead and release that. Even though it's about dan dan talks about ross and a little bit the legacy of the show. And and that's i think we're you know we're kind of honoring here. Is the legacy of what these guys have been able to do. All these years including dan and rawson so anyway. We're putting that out this week. I don't have an exact date thing. It's empty now presents the green room. You can see it there. You go to a website tv and even if you're not really familiar with russ martin the russ martin show and all of that if you're just interested in broadcasting in radio and general dan give some great information and it was really great guy which i. i wish. We're going to have him here all the time. I sent them a message yesterday. I know they were getting inundated. Because they went on the air the day he died to announce to everyone. That's tough to do you know. Even though you're expecting him to die at some point not only that it was such big news in the area so they were they were talking about it on news broadcasts that they would be on one o'clock or so. They went like a an hour. Show crying and everything you know. It's it's tough to do that. And but they did it so i sent an email. I said hey you know. Thank you guys for doing what you did. I know it wasn't easy. You know. Let me know if i can do anything. I can't even imagine what they are going through. He's been with russ for almost twenty years. What if what if you actually said. There's anything i can do for you. And he's like well actually michael and he just dumps about like a laundry list of. I'll do it just because i appreciate the show. The show meant a lot to me. All right and is inspired me to do a lot of things so i mean. I'll do whatever he wants to do. I need you to go out and be a pallbearer you to go to the cease to hold back to the stay a week of the season hotel record for bits on a show. I think what they're calling. Now that's why by the way if you ever concerned with why my name isn't actually on the show is mc now. It's because if i die. I'm gonna continue the show. Thank god yeah. I thought about this years ago. So eric would be the dan he would come in and he would host. The show did break broken. Still think we should take your other idea. Just keeping everyone's name the same and replacing the cast so we'll have another michael just brandon mcgahn. Enzi left the building past. Now would you replace me with would you recast me with julie ufo. Joe no that'd be a totally different show hours long and no one would know we were talking about. It would be mc it space it would basically be a clubhouse room where people just go on and on and on and then did you get anything out of that. Collar show confused. Yes that was very helpful. Thank you just happened. Yeah gyms here now. This guy's dropping gyms now that you mentioned that we need to get. We need to get Ufo joe on on clubhouse does he have an iphone. Yeah yeah he can talk for twenty four hours. Also i wanna try to get you to do comedy and vr who me. Oh yeah me January first twenty twenty one years and was on stage doing stand up but yeah you're life sucks whatever and that without the wind like the whatever my car. Oh i did this. I broke my hand. i can't do stand up now. They have open mic on Vr yeah yeah you can go up on stage. A little avatar. That sounds like it might be kind of cool Can you throw virtual tomatoes. I think you can yeah beer. There's actually open mic sessions. So you can go up there. Is you sign up. You go up there and you do your jokes for three or four or five minutes. I like that better than like zoom or something like that because you could kind of be up there with them now. What seemed like an audience. And you don't have that little lag so anyway. I was talking to the bartender. Then he comes on me other it. Allow the saying you. Have you have a device over there that you couldn't scramble your voice with the I don't know i'd have to go punch mexican. i don't know anything about this thing. We don't use it enough. I turn it on every show and this is the first time we've used it this year. So anyway r.i.p to russ martin. Thank you for the inspiration. I'm gonna get clark to listen to all the old shows and Come his number one fan. Well i mean it's too late now. miss the boat but also Just to make clarksville better. I did see bobby bobby. The other day i think. An era the Screenshot bobby up anything. It was like a few weeks ago. Bobby posted on facebook or something like i guess. I'm not good enough. Because he had just broken up with some girl are they broke up with him. That's how it always wharton and then Yesterday i saw check in at a bar restaurant with a new girl. Oh so that was just a few weeks ago. He's doing so much better than clark and And he's older worse looking has no people skills whatsoever about personality. Personality is terrible and yet he's still somehow able to get these girls Than the last all three weeks. Yeah that's what they say about. Bobby is that he can. He has game he does have women. I don't know how he has. No money out. Think even tries. I think he's out there and just they just don't try either the no game game Now bobby try. He tries to be sweet. And i think that's what the girls see like. Oh he's so sweet. He'll do whatever i want him to do. And then they use them and then they dump the pump games. That's the differ swimming. Me and bobby. There's no utility enemy. There's no utility how to him. There's that you probably have more money than bobby. There's no years there's no use in this. Beginning they're like was using dot com. They just figure it out. Let's do a play date with lois lane. And you which lois. Amy adams lois or superman. Silver superman lois lowest dominatrix. You're right yeah. Yeah well foul month. "On the Cowboys beat visit with Zach Boychuk. 105 3 The Fan my buddy, what's going on brother? How are you doing? I don't think he knew he was in for you. Know it works ended in about two weeks for joe to really like bond and start like padding little Ladies about to close to the cast general but endicott Agent he he would bobble didn't know how to handle them. You're gonna ask is a veterinarian. This is kind of typical for people that work in my field. Are you in the shelter field or from the veterinary field. 'cause i'm used to having like defective animals. No actually. I just always kept like when i was about six years old. Our family dog who passed There was a cat outside. Some adherents were going to notre annually to adopts another dog. And i suppose candidates Please please so. I was kinda odd number. Cats are we have a cat right now. Going on keyboard after me. Joe started eating in. He fell in love with little actually was the one that rescued the rest of the cats. So our next cat personally. You know we both well as he values kenneth store to them but yet most of them i ended up finding yes oh second handicap. Cat was nica and joanne fountain middle street. He though she was being direct koon and shumar and she was shaking and she has her eyes off so it was like a conditions born with that left blind so he took her in and then joe ended up adopting mac using the shelter for ten months he was over locks. Just a couple of minutes for your calls. But first we're visiting with. Joe and lauren depalma. They've taken in six handicapped cats. I i've got a question. I'm a cat. I'm a pet sitter. And some cats. That i take care of our handicapped and it takes a lot of time. How do you do this or do you work or are you there. Fulltime with these cats are were jobs mark as we see but basically working out that Joe works sixty two so he gets up at four thirty in the morning and he goes to work. I actually worked to hands. I'm home with the cast. Told about two o'clock and then he comes home from work sanitation. He comes on sanitation. He spent like an hour with them and then he goes to york salt. He also owns a barbershop so then he goes back into work. Yeah and then he comes home and he's with them again. In the come home he goes to sleep and stay with them. So of we haven't worked out. And i also do rotate them. Bring some of them to work with me studio so the kids will love it. They absolutely love it And i think that it's amazing. Kids know that. Just because you're different There's nothing wrong with being different so much helene going on an to backs their conditions like one kid. Who's just upset because she has acne in liking on bringing the capital two legs. So i try to compare things to them and tell them like it's okay to be different a look different or you know had issues So i think it's great for the kids great experience on do break cat to work. Every day is a pretty costly to do this. It's insanely crossley Appraise i think on every day we have an amazing instagram little man underscore minka and we have one hundred fourteen thousand dollars right now. And if it wasn't for people sending us like food or litter or we have emergency surgeries helping us. We would never have six cats on it. We would never be able to do it because even the most we took it once blinds he just had to have us getting factions behind the iceland shot. That was very costly. Our current one. That's missing two legs. We're not really sure yet. What's gonna be what we're going to have to do for her. Because she's too young she's still a kitten but We know that we're going to have this quarter we're going have back and it just it helps so much Without lowers riverbank more. That means all the time and we try to always let them know how much we appreciate them. There the real reason that these cats and save not us because we could never do.
