The people around the shows that they're planning a final episode that could function as either a season finale or a series finale. "I turned on my nearly dead phone to load up the maps and confirm that not a big deal as it would just take me a bit longer. I made my way to California City luckily there. I ended up finding a battery pack. I made a quick stop in East LA right before the Citadel and headed home. The last fifty miles of the ride felt much longer than any other hundred thirty miles sent. My last stop was at my starting point and I had come full circle a total of 1029 miles and 18 hours 11:00 minutes. Well done sir bells for you. Next up. Let's head to the east coast maybe somewhere in the middle give or take this is Ryan rescue knocked out. The one came Loop for some barbecue 1067 miles and 18 hours 22 minutes and Up BBQ 500 miles away from home. He wrote the goal was to have cable T barbecue. The mission was to have it for lunch while rod and over 1,000 miles the night prior to operation barbecue. I have feelings of excitement and fear with minimum wage sleep departing early the first pump at 4:30 a.m. I pulled into Joe's BBQ in KC, which was awesome get the z-man sandwich and reached my halfway Palm coming back home. I was met with lightning rain and strong cross-breeze on I-55 good thing for a ring gear. I was determined to finish that my house down. I did way to go mister Ron rescue. Thanks for supporting the ride one K and add a challenge right in from under Lake Michigan all the way to Kansas City. MO. Jeaux's City Barbeque. Well done. Headed back to the west side of the country. This is another rod from Thomas and his wife Monica rod and passenger. If you remember from last episode, they ripped this one k Loop to see the Salt Flats then back home a gnarly one thousand five hundred twelve miles that's fifteen hundred twelve miles in 22 hours 49 minutes. That's very nice ride. You too. I hope we get to see you again soon. Let's hear their story left gas station at 6:03 a.m. For Bonneville. Salt Flats goal was to do a big circle ended back home weather was pretty good the whole day did get chilly in the passes though made 13 stops along the way one stop included getting chicken fell a and riding out on the Salt Flats a little bit. One of the drivers we encountered on the road was quite something we passed him along the way which apparently he didn't lock. Came back to pass us and multiple cars running one off the road then pulled into the gas station and pulling right in front of us at the pump. I pulled away from that and waited. He left we got fuel and then we found him pulled over by a sheriff Karma. There was quite a few cops. We got to see there was also quite a bit of road construction in Nevada and Idaho. Well done. You too. Glad you still married. Glad you still rocking it the one k and a day has proven to be you'll ride. Congratulations. Here's an older recording of myself in a coffee shop. I just happened to press record once and this is how it all turned out. I was able to get it all figured out here in the studio. Hope you enjoy it a little Bob Dylan for you..

Kept me busy and having the normal stuff shutdown. It's Kinda slowed me down I'm sure at the end of the day. The answer is I still have a one K to make up myself but let's get to the Radwan Kane a day for a little bit do a little bit of catch-up all the goodness there's been so many Americans and fellow human beings of this entire world out there doing the awesomeness that is the self challenge of the ride one K. and a day. Today we're starting off with none other than SD? Underscore real underscore as state as you know, this man's on a mission to kill one a month this time one, thousand, thirty, nine miles, and seventeen hours forty, eight minutes what a great story he's got going on he rats. I'm lagging on getting this one uploaded. After my last ride I started mandarin and was hoping for a week or so. But three days in I had to bust ass home due to work. I've been buried fortunately I realized I. needed to hurry. I was in Durango and there was a solid one k. that looked to be very scenic. I was not disappointed. Up The million dollar highway I was again reminded that Colorado believes in Darwinism when they built their roads survival of the fittest they're stop in for elk being denied access to Silverton due to Covid, and then just constantly being blown away by epoch scenery. What an awesome morning a scene out of the old. West. Came up several cowboys on horses, move their free range her down the road I'm sure they chuckled as one cow. Squared up with me and started moon her snout wads at me had to walk the bike back a few steps until she calmed and let me by a twisted down through a canyon to see a few dear and some random house built into a cliff right on the Border Colorado and Utah. When I hit Moab I was pretty sure that jeep to human ratio was two to one and everyone was out for the holiday weekend. From, the time I got up and hit twenty seven degrees to gas up in Vegas. When I saw ninety seven, it was all in a great day. The I two hundred miles out of drain God took me four hours and I might be the best few hours ever spent on a motorcycle something amazing about being able to see so much in such a little amount of time one ks make motorcycles even more a symbol of freedom. Well, done Sir Bells for you. Next up, we got a first timer on the Graham dictated to two wheels crushed his first one K finish it on. July fourth clocked him at one thousand and fifteen hours forty one minutes one thousand miles exactly I'm not sure how he figured that out but shoot I give a lot of Kudos just for that. It was a great time and he wants to beat it next time he rats with starting on the third no one. I'd go past midnight I figured what better way to bring in Independence Day than to ride free and push my limits. This was my first one K and a day but I'll definitely be trying to beat this one thousand mile time and distance next week on my way back to Colorado it was an amazing day of Ryden and seeing this America but also challenging hell well, done Mr Addicted to wheels. Let's get to the reality of good relationship. Thomas Dunkin with his wife Monica as passenger that's to up my fellows crushed has beautiful. One came from Utah to Oregon one, thousand, fifty, nine miles in one, thousand, nine hours, two minutes, and they're already submitting for a second rod and apparently did very well because they seem to still be married well. Done for them. They ride left Mo- add to come home had a great ride whether it was nice had to change our oil in a motel parking lot. Before we left we've racked up a lot of miles far from home we went to Moab to see my sister as a surprise. There you go. This is freaking awesome and it all started with good maintenance to keep the BACO and apparently good maintenance on a relationship I. Give you guys a lot of credit. On the grahame white, me's crushed one K. Lake Michigan loop and was looking forward to her youtube video for this ride going live on the thirty first such beautiful loop and conveniently want thousand miles give or take. This is definitely on the bucket list we have our at one thousand, twelve miles and twenty three hours six minutes well done. Glad she made it. She writes one, thousand, twelve miles and twenty three hours on my beloved. Davidson sportster eight three is complete. Man, this was a roller coaster of emotions moto adventure for my first ride one k a day challenge I had such high spirits until the sun went down after that things started deere tate me where me down test be drain me caked on bugs losing my cramped buster getting a twenty four hour gas station that was closed. I. Honestly was this close to pull it into a motel and asking for a room. Physically I could've rode in the saddle all day long and then some but mentally, this challenge was the hardest twenty hours in and in the most tiresome around twenty one and twenty two hours I had time this route to rod the beautiful five Mile Long mackinac bridge as the sun setting over Lake Michigan and rode along the coast of the upper peninsula as the sun rose again in the Sky I've learned so many times and would honestly routed again in a heartbeat after all of very long nap of course there you go on the Graham. Watt. Mazza Miss Whitney, checker out and yes she's got a link to her youtube channel on the Graham. Let's get back at it. No Mad Charlie stampede here on the American roadrunner motorcycle.

"You're listening to later than you first of All I Want to say that I love I love I love the name the show on the father I love on the right right in your life it's later than you with bill later well the back end of the show all right or whether this is exciting. the goal we couldn't get this girl as Friday's charges phone it happens mark Medina is here right now and by the way with a brand new promotion is only promotions a new job it's a big time job for a big time talent last time we talked to mark he would do an amazing job covering the war is for the for the San Jose mercury news before that back in the day before I had the show he cover the Lakers he is now a national and be a writer for USA today sports based in beautiful Los Angeles California just move back the city of angels Mister mark Medina congrats on the new good buddy thanks man I'm just for lives are members searching my phone sharks are one big time yeah Dr and that makes us that we talked about last week you get the big job and also your big done Medina well what kind of man are you. I blame it on the fact that when you're at the wall there are actresses sell with the Lakers and doing all these interviews all of your phone drain the battery because you're sure all those video and we see how we go about the Jews wall behold I lost track of time and realize that this is the big guy over here all day today I would you know what I love the data. you know the people that are a lot smarter so I remembered by osmosis I should keep the charge I like it did Sunday they're gonna that a cord that you can plug into a wall and then you plug the other end into a yeah I don't write I discovered what the dead. they landed they got are you live in LA now are you still you still in the bay area well from all over the place I will give it away. we can you know catching up with the Lakers of media that their first practice clippers media David Balam up at San Francisco because the warriors had their media day today I'll catch their practice tomorrow but yeah I'll be all over the place but a lot of stuff going on in California they appear so I never now now you can big time means just socially the bar like Medina said he was going to show up what's gone all right so let's let's let's go back to it to Friday what was how was the mood how was the vibe how was the optimism fill in in Lakers nation of their media day last week. well it was interesting because usually the Lakers whether they're really bad or really because they always talk about Hey there's a reason why we have championship trophy is fired union bosses office oversees the practice court this is what we play for that day kind of lamp beside the opposite that of course they they obviously want to win the title that they're talking about four of the process and what it takes to do that and put in all the work and I think you know all those platitudes aside the main takeaway is I took from what we're we're too thanks Sir bell want lebron is really talented up that he wants to pay Anthony Davis feel like it's his team his talent for a quote will be often should run. he's doing a lot of things to make him feel comfortable he he obviously has a lot of respect for here we have the choir and then secondly here though the Lakers are trying to present themselves as a franchise that finally got its you know what together like last year though was on the same page of the front office between Magic Johnson Robb wink X. support for Luke Walton how he handled Braun jams the young you know a young group of players and somewhat crude players and then you know the team themselves in the corporate James is the lobbying for Anthony Davis partly because he does have a lot of trust in all the young guys in here and they painted themselves as the front office is all making a lot of decisions together the coaching staff has the staff with the the front office approved of that Frank Vogel was fine with and the players they feel like the wording curves going to be a lot less steep because they have lebron James back for a second here he's healthier Anthony Davis is on the table I also have I think a lot more shooters and a lot more veterans that will penalize some of the warning Kerr so it'll be interesting to see how that all plays out of actual real time with the circle and mark on the dean it's here on the program newly minted national NBA writer for USA today joins our friend from the show Jeff still get in that role both those guys extraordinarily good at what they do check out USA TODAY's NBA coverage every day like I do more calm the clippers obviously had massive expectations as well but some not so great news at the start from Paul George what we know how long is he gonna be sidelined. well the clippers aren't giving out for full time tables but you know Paul George is that it yeah yeah but he expects us all training camp will probably come back but some point in November if you do the math there I think that the the least the first six regular season games you know the clippers have said they still like his progress with the shoulder of Iraq's you worried and that you know he's still doing things in training camp he is doing about contact girls is going to be with them a what why Phillies be part of you know kind of the team building aspect bought yeah I think what you're looking at the prohibitive favor to the MPA a lot of people thought that the clippers were because you had the they had a lot more doubt that the Lakers do because they have a lot of new pieces biografia Paul George you know open to see that I don't want to say that the game changer bought you know the only knock that I see the the clippers having as how long it takes for kind of that dynamic to shift with kawaii and Paul George and how well those that clippers Spanish that was known as a real feisty scrappy bunch that touch with the with the warriors of six campers for travel twelve slash you're still keep that spirit with a lot of star talent and without him there that's the way it's a little bit but I I want to be too concerned only because five it's going to be probably a matter of. weeks not months it'll be out so yeah the NBA the the the grind of they always think that went along mark Medina here on the show mark let me ask you kind of a or a question I'm assuming you have asked before and not to be a tricky one just curious we have seen over the last three or four or five years how often Anthony Davis Paul George and Kawhi Leonard have have been injured right I have missed time and for the first time last year lebron missing time what are the odds you think that both tandems both superstar duels with the Lakers and clippers are going to be more or less healthy for the entirety of the year be good to go in the post. you now on I'm going to be very skeptical that all for those players play eighty two I mean obviously role Paul George al but even with the three other players like why Leonard had said that there is no plans to do the work management that Toronto did because as you know that was different circumstances coming off a pretty bad injury and his last year in San Antonio you know a Braun hand himself as we help the perfect growing injury and you know so went down hold up in the Davis stamping with his injuries but Anthony Davis is that had injuries as a tire career lebron James is thirty four and the seventeenth season and Kawhi Leonard I think he will be to help you out of the group but I think even just by pure precautions while the clippers are going to sit on formally on back to back but I don't think they're gonna want him into the ground so fighting handicap but I would say that you know the the bow so they'll play I think would be about seventy games that you know I like it should also be a strong likelihood that they could even fall into the sixty ranch mark Medina here on the show mark you cover the Lakers for a long time he covered the warriors last two years what was it like rolling into media day where you're at now on the bay and having in terms of guys are healthy was clay even there a vastly different looking gold stating well not only would road vastly different looking gold statement of quite tops of was there but the five felt would never could resume tireless new arena yeah interesting to contrast here were you go which will remain a trade center state of the art it's very expensive and it was built as if they have this assumption that Hey there this is going to be a very championship waited team right but it's a team that I wanna play in rebuilding but have a lot of question marks on how well can't they do enough to still be a playoff content the payment there's so many so many question marks here right because we already do there's going to be a challenge of who starts a winning without Kevin Durant you know they have died which Alec Berkland around the third at Fontana Kinney competing for minutes at the small forward spot Willie Cauley Stein well we just words to the star or lives who was going to be the starting center is going to be out for all training camp because they had a left knee injury Sir what toe injury were were left footed ramps are related to plan a pickup scrimmage all the thought that the the warriors really have no options of center X. upper some of like suffer kobold loony and clay tops and he's gonna be out a weeks the first thirty five games throughout the all star weekend that was expected but I think a really crystallized all the uncertainty is where the only thing the warriors curly back. Khan this year is stuff current Raymonde Korean are really going to be good because that's who they are but how much of a burden candidate Henry you know I can see that the actual Russell will build off his all star year and broke one the fact that he gets to play and learn under staff you know he can you know kind of feel comfortable sharing the back or was stuff all quiet about that one play comes back get the meteor walks but they're going to be really passed defensively have a happy new players a lot of it John a lot of the players the stop start her really gonna hafta line perfect way for them to be a playoff team but I think because you have staff and ram on still they are in the back at least until you know maybe one of their pastors sit out because of some odd percent after USA TODAY's mark Medina mark last one for you obviously if.

"sir bell" Discussed on The Iron Fist and the Velvet Glove
"Do. Yes. So I mean, you said Jewish new in the in the in the representation, they I think that's a Christian and okay? Yeah. I mean, that's right. So it's not like the Jewish or the Muslim chaplain is is just going to talk to the Jewish and was. Defense was pissed now event Feith presume sort of the initial argument will is nobody'll your denomination feeder serve anyway, really doesn't make sense because these other groups potentially preaching or not preaching. But. What's the chap one-seat like when you a chaplain? Have when you're doing doing. Those guys would be would be doing it for for Noddy on percent of the Tonto people want of their particular faith. You don't even even if there was if even if they was not a single humanist in the defence force. It's still not a good argument. But. You say your person you've thought this through for five minutes. Vince about running both give you don't they contradict each other. Do you know if they've hired any scenes you dotted your application? I'm interesting ahead, quite a few people who aren't happens reach out to me and say, I'm currently serving I even had enough of lying looking chaplain that you know, I could pretend to be hanged again, and we'll get pain in the not just which is I'm right? That's not the point the point is price is wrong. And I probably should talk about prices for say just so you'll his because. How ridiculous is women setting this up this view, you briefly mentioned of a catch twenty two situation was intriguing. Yeah. Yes. So in order to serve seven to put in cash in for that to be considered a separate and supposedly independent advisory board. So they advise on military Chaplaincy and the same seven on the nation's old have rip on that board. When I put my education, I have to get evidence from my wisdom tradition. That is I am actually ordained. And yes, I have the backing of overnight which I am not dined that y but I am proved by cambric humanist, bold. So I've met the criterion for Chaplaincy and the Mawae fully just bodies speak. So I bet because there's no humus on advisory board. They consider my apllications. So is woods get onto the advisory board. You have to be serving Notre chaplain. So who it's? Military Chapman, unless you're only advisory. You've got someone on the adviser. Yeah. Yeah. So it's it's sort of catch twenty years old way down. Now, a couldn't be paranoid. But I guess that that was being set up on purpose to keep out some face that for whatever reason they don't want in service. I do I say that on the basis of a little bit of evidence, which is was a serving imam and there's no longer suiting. So obviously the Muslim representation on the board has been removed. I know that and and he's no longer with he's weep service. So. Radicalized to is that why he was removed. He may have suspected that. I'm not sure I don't know anything about annot that one existed. That's the limit of minority which means if they fall the prices quickly did correctly would have had to be on the board. And these are just internal policy decisions within the defense force. It's not like, it's an active Powell -ment look up legislation and read it carefully like these sorts of rules that you talking that. Here are just internal things that very hard to find out and do you actually see a written policy, it'll or you just tell these things. Yeah. I'm simply told they think so bad of the persists is I've been trying to do my invasion of discovering like in the legal sense that I'm trying I'm famous christening since the beginning that I am shine. Bicycle communication where this where is this policy? Dave mayo position descriptions, but like old like all that information in order to be able to review it. I haven't seen any of it. So at the as yet. Well, good luck with that prices. That's gonna be long drawn in idea. And I believe according to this article, Luke BIC is helping you in some regard with him. It's been amazing on them. He never met in person buddies Hayes boys responsive to whenever I sent him things rests Christians and we've workshop together this approach and how my correspondents. So yeah, it's it's a long process. But I think it's an important one. If I with to speak cly, you know, this is kind of a number of possible outcomes here. It is a unconstitutional in which case it'll probably have to guy or it might bay that they find that it it isn't a constitutional. They've for consign, but I don't think is a wing indefens- for either way. The constitution says that there should be. No. Religious tests for an office of of government. It's a long is long. And so none of this will be resolved by the human rights. This is talking high coal end and on Wilton. What's? You know, and possibly 'cause I leaving Cameron might be talking human rights commission and Alec record. So this is going to be a loan crisis. But I the only possible out that I can save defenses that. It's found to be constitutional. But they're forced to put in secular equivalent. That's the only win that. I can say that might be possible that I mean who knows and these hypotheticals the? That any of these will actually come to fruition. Oh, how come to fruition? So good. Of a there's another Chaplaincy role of God full you as well. Justin. Yeah. You with? I saw it with the KOMO of games that were held up here in Queensland recently, the had the had chaplains employed at the KOMO of times. Oh, interesting. I'm state emergency services have chaplains while. To to which I had I did apply to become one. Agency services bedtime in the end, I didn't apply because I I have a very similar religious test and didn't have time. But next time mothers comes up. I think I'll be pushing that is all around it. It just seems ridiculous to me that the kind of, you know, support love incompassion that they weren't to allow people religion that have by having chaplains would be denied to everyone. Just because if you have a belief in a God, God is that you seem to be ridiculous position to me. We'll the school Chaplaincy program is being challenged. So maybe if that gets resolved in full into law on relies the writings on the wolf from the military as well my. Yeah. Yeah. Possibly I mean defenses are speaking with local March there, I am questioning conservative and northern innovative at all. Is action. I think if they do evolve it'll be dragged kicking and screaming. A long haired while the sounds of it, and you've got pretty good immunization. And you're pretty rock-solid sort of Keiser good lack. Hey, say you're also just moving on from Chaplaincy. So you've been knocking around with sort of humanise ninety s and all sorts of other groups for for quite a while. Now just inside I thought we have a bit of a run through the different secular rationalist groups in just who you've been a part of and. Let's talk about them. So you'll currently a member of the icies Fantasia Australia. I've been a long-term via wrong and being. I've been involved in their forums and many of they long term members there as well. So I won't just say before I move on further that there is very annoying thing about military champlin say is it a been in contact with a number of them of of currently serving Chapman's? I think some of them reach out with concerned that this might end up with them losing their jobs. One interesting thing, I run from a number of them is at all of them forced to pay money from their federally funded wage to the church, there's not one that hasn't said that and it's range from between ten percent and one hundred percent where the person who has one hundred percent of their wage Mottaki ninety three thousand dollars. So it's not a small wage three thousand dollars a year and three thing has to be all priding road. Same to be constitutional to make to so the way works if you're one hundred percent is that you give the hundred wage, and then they pay basically a credit card where you pay for what you need and say they want it to be less than ninety three s the year. The so that seems to me as well know, whether that will come out in the prices I that night, but that certainly permission that I've been given. So I think it's important to share that that this is not only looking around precision. It's looking a little bit light fall to me. But I'm not speaking said. Wow, interesting. Yeah. Back to the I've been with him for quite a number of years and and do on T with them. Tens of being at minutes. I spoke and whatnot. So look I've really enjoyed right? Hardly them. They're good organisation. They did have some problems with a little bit of misogyny, especially in their Facebook page, but they've worked really hard to turn that around. And I'm be really inclusive group. Yeah. So very proud of what I've done ruined had anything to do with any of the other groups. Well, are you a member of the camera humanists then? Yes, yes. I am. And what did I? Okay. So. Ism. So obviously humanism was quite a popular. Belief system is not sad. I would have to my humanism a belief system belief in people at the base level belief in and doing the right thing and maximizing will being full including myself. But yeah, look, they were huge obviously in the sixties, and I sort of doubt since then. Most of the the membership now will truly into this tonight. And the it's. Stories between the Ludwig in this area. But I feel like he's having trouble getting traction with younger people to get involved. His concern is that if there isn't a second wave of she is that people will resort to other belief systems like tribalism, like nationalism racism extremism in order to get the meeting and hope in the lives that they need it. I'm sorry. Mr. he's nine who has this FIA who's who took Linden's Linden store? Linden story. Ron so he's the president of the trial. Hymns on. So what to humans do when they get together? Then like, do they do they actually have a proactive approach to any particular projects or do they do anything other than that talk? I mean. I mean, not that that's a bad thing. But just if talking's what they do then. That's is that there. What was there other more? Yeah. It's a spot on the money. That's what a lot of human societies are being reduced to just two groups of people sitting around talking about things, especially talking about the glory days of humans Manhattan. I got you know, stuff remove mentions. God, we moved off things and stuff. That's not Cambridge human, sir. Bell? Cambric humus are. Temperaments? Wanting to recognize where religion has done good things in the past. And be the force only organization that comes in and carries all night would work. You know, religion is on the way out, but the problems that face humans, not so what's going to happen. When is no more people to do this charitable goodwill work that that religions has done in the past. I'm that's what I'm personally hyping. He can do and can bring about to be the place where people guy where they may have gone to a priest story mom or clerical pasta in the past. I sort of community goodwill. Sort of activities that churches mod have done in the past was still doing, but without any of the theology and just. Approaching Heimlich shelters and soup doing soup kitchens. And and that sort of wrong. Yeah. Yeah, I'm not keeping your sandwich hostage while before she deprived.
