What Is Girls on the Run? Christine Benedict Tells Us All About It

"This week, we are talking with Christine Benedict. She's the executive director of Girls on the Run of South Central Wisconsin. Welcome to the show, Christine. I'm so glad to be here. Thanks for having me, Carla. Absolutely. So let's dig into Girls on the Run. What is Girls on the Run? Yes, Girls on the Run is an after -school empowerment program that helps third through eighth grade girls, although our primary Girls on the Run programming serves girls in grades three through five, and it helps them build confidence, character, compassion, all kinds of life skills. And while they're learning all these fantastic life skills, they're also training, playing, moving their bodies, and getting prepared to run a 5K at the end of their season. So we are a confidence building program that uses running to teach all these great life skills. Oh, wow. That's really incredible. So they're training for a 5K. How long of a season is this? Yeah, it's a great question. So the kids meet on small teams, typically of about 15 to 20 kids with three to five coaches or so, and their season runs about nine weeks, and they can, depending on their school and if their school offers programming in both the fall and spring season, they can do it up to six times between third, fourth, and fifth grade, so they can repeat. But typically the single season is just nine weeks, and the kids meet twice a week after school on those small teams for 90 minutes per practice. And typically at those 90 minute practices, about half of the time is spent doing some of that skill building. So talking about their feelings, their emotions, that life skill building, and the other half is spent moving, not quite in big blocks like that, but it's about 45 minutes of those 90 minutes that they spend trying to be pretty active.

After TCU pulled within 6 points, K state finished the game on a 17 to two run, including a three point dagger by marquise Noel. It always feels good to get a win underneath my belt. Especially against the top 20 team. "But you can also follow him on Twitter at real Alex barth. All right, back with David Ortiz and the top 5 David Ortiz moments before we do that, I want to go over some amazing statistics. And I'm sure you're very aware of these. Alex. And why I think it's a no brainer that David Ortiz next Tuesday winds up being announced as the, as a part of the cooperstown 2022 class. His career averages. He hit two 86 for his career. He had 541 home runs. He had 1700 over 1700 RBIs. And his career, this is staggering. His career, OBP. I mean, excuse me, OPS. Was 9, 31. Want to know something even more staggering? At the age of 40, his last year in 2016, do you know the numbers Alex? It's over one. I don't remember exactly what it is, but it's the second or third highest of his career. Yeah. It is the well, that's a great question. It is the third highest of his career. He had a 1.066 in 2007 and 1.049 in 2006. He had a 1.021 OPS in 2016, his final year in Major League Baseball at the age of 40. To me, what's even more amazing? He had a league high 48 doubles. He had 38 bombs, and he drove in a 127 RBIs. That is also fourth highest in his career. He had single season highs of a 148 in 2005. He had a 137 in 2006, sitting at a 139 in 2004. A 127 RBIs at the age of 40 in his last four seasons in Major League Baseball. He drove over a hundred drove in over a hundred runs in each and every single season. To me, that is just astounding. Obviously we get to the postseason and his numbers are almost as staggering. His OPS in 85 postseason games, Alex. 9 47. In those 85 postseason games he had 17 home runs and 61 RBIs. Now I've not had the time to break down how many game winning RBIs he had in game winning hence walk offs and whatnot in Major League Baseball. History, but still it's astounding. And I think for those just based on those numbers alone, the man's getting into the Hall of Fame..

Never judge <Speech_Male> him one <Speech_Male> game against the rams <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> so <Speech_Male> you know. I'm not a <Speech_Male> huge mooney guy <Speech_Male> but one hundred percent but <Speech_Male> he played a lot <Speech_Male> chase capable. Didn't <Speech_Male> jake played <Speech_Male> sixty seven percents of the snaps. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> James o'shaughnessy <Speech_Male> deep league <Speech_Male> scott fishbowl. <Speech_Male> He played eight <Speech_Male> percent of the snaps for the jaguars <Speech_Male> and he had eight. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> And this was disappointing. <Speech_Male> Gerald ever <Speech_Male> caught a touchdown <Speech_Male> but he and we'll d'isly <Speech_Male> both played about <Speech_Male> seventy percent of the snaps <Speech_Male> Had three targets. <Speech_Male> Everett had to <Speech_Male> so. I'm not sure <Speech_Male> you're really going to get any <Silence> type of breakout from <Speech_Male> everett. <Speech_Male> That was one of the things <Speech_Male> on the preseason <Speech_Male> to disneyland <Speech_Male> everett. we're both. I mean <Speech_Male> disney's been good when <Silence> he's been healthy. He's just <Speech_Male> suffered <Speech_Male> a serious <SpeakerChange> injury. <Silence> Every single season <Speech_Male> with <Speech_Male> curtis samuel out diani <Speech_Male> brown played <Speech_Male> ninety. Three <Speech_Male> percents of the snaps <Speech_Male> didn't do much with <Speech_Male> and i <Speech_Male> just don't <SpeakerChange> really <Speech_Male> we end with this. <Speech_Male> But oh well. <Speech_Male> I melvin gordon. <Speech_Male> Devante williams both played <Speech_Male> at fifty percent of the snaps. <Speech_Male> That was interesting. <Silence> But <Speech_Male> you <Speech_Male> know the miles. Gaskin <Speech_Male> usage was really <Speech_Male> weird to me. He <Speech_Male> only ended up playing fifty <Speech_Male> four percents of the snaps <Speech_Male> but i still <Speech_Male> think he established <Speech_Male> himself as the <Speech_Male> number one guy <Speech_Male> and the dolphins <Speech_Male> only ran fifty two <Speech_Male> plays. <Speech_Male> They only gain two hundred <Speech_Male> and fifty nine total <Speech_Male> yards. They're <Speech_Male> often sucked <Speech_Male> and they came away with <Speech_Male> a win. But <Speech_Male> gaskin just <Speech_Male> really didn't get much work <Speech_Male> in the second half. <Speech_Male> yeah. I <Speech_Male> don't know. I still <Speech_Male> think it was positive <Speech_Male> for him You know he. <Speech_Male> <SpeakerChange> He was <Silence> the guy for them. <Speech_Male> I <Speech_Male> think <Silence> <Speech_Male> if <Speech_Male> you're judging <Speech_Male> based on how he <Speech_Male> reacted to the first <Speech_Male> preseason game <Silence> it was positive but <Speech_Male> miles <Speech_Male> gaskin last season played <Speech_Male> at least sixty five percent <Speech_Male> of the snaps in every <Silence> game that he played in <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> and savan ackman <Speech_Male> played <Speech_Male> sixty five percents <Speech_Male> and four of <Speech_Male> the other games. That <Speech_Male> gaskin didn't play <Speech_Male> out of six. <Speech_Male> <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> So <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> you know. He was at fifty <Silence> four percent this week. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> Nine of seventeen <Speech_Male> running back carey's <Speech_Male> five of the <Speech_Male> eight running back targets. <Speech_Male> Malcolm brown did <Speech_Male> come in near <SpeakerChange> the goal line <Silence> and a couple of points <Speech_Male> <Silence> i. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> I'm not sure he's good enough <Speech_Male> to be a must start guy <Speech_Male> without <Speech_Male> dominating work the <Speech_Male> way he did last season. <Speech_Male> I'm willing to wait. <Speech_Male> He will probably <Speech_Male> still be a top twenty <Speech_Male> running back for me this <Silence> week but <Speech_Male> it was <Silence> not <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> was not exactly <Silence> what i hope for <Speech_Male> <SpeakerChange> from <Speech_Male> miles to ask. <Speech_Male> They've got buffalo <Speech_Male> this <Speech_Male> week. <Speech_Male> That's for fantasy football <Speech_Music_Male> today

"I had a friend that was like, hey, I'll pick you up from the train station . I'll take you to get your car where it needs to go. I get to the dealership. I didn't even know my car was under warranty. Didn't know. So this massive issue I paid nothing for. And some of them might look at that as like, well, that was just good Friends and coincidence, but I don't believe in coincidence as a believer. And good friends come from the lord, honestly. Right? So all of those things, it literally was like, God just provided, you know? I didn't miss one day of work. I actually was getting the work earlier than when I drive myself. Kind of funny. So I didn't miss a day of work. I didn't have to pay for my car to get fixed. The car got fixed. You know, just and those are all the things that you look at a relationship, and it's like, oh, somebody to pay my bills. Well, I didn't have to pay a bill. You know, how do I get to work? Who's going to help me? Provision happened. The lord sent people to help me get to work. So in that maybe I didn't have a physical man there, but God took care of me in that moment, you know? So for me, that's more of a practical place of artists than a husband. That's very good because those are lessons that you have to actually transition into marriage because even though you have a physical person there, there are going to be moments where you have to tap into, okay, well, he's not able to do this. What if he gets sick? What if something happens to him, then what do you do? Still have built that relationship with the lord where you still can depend on him in those practical ways. That is so good and actually such great wisdom and such a great explanation for when you say that. So I appreciate that. Thank you, Andrew. Don't worry. So next question, what's one of the biggest lessons you've learned from your single season in your single season? What would you say?.

"31 of 32 NFL teams have had a quarterback 30 touchdown passes in a given season. Then there are the Bears, who's single season passing touchdown record is 29. Normally when a quarterback holds a franchise record for 20, plus years, the markets set by a legend, someone like burrito still holds. The Dolphins touched on record, but with the Bears the record belongs to your guy, Erik Kramer. An undrafted journeyman who played Only two full seasons as an NFL starter. How about that? So, but he's fifth on the list, and David Dave Craig is six. So that's bullshit. Wow, really, between five and six. Yeah, that's a that's a steep. That's a steep cliff right there. Chris Chandler is eight. You know? Can you barely remember Christian? Oh, there. I mean, I do. But barely. Study Finds MLB Umpires Show Racial Bias Against Non-Whites

"There's also a report out there that i haven't seen a lot of traction so far but i i wanted to bring it up to you guys. I don't want to spend a ton of time on it. But a recent study done by. Hank snowed it. A student at claremont mckenna suggests that mlb discriminate against non white players the study used balls and strikes data from the past thirteen seasons to determine the rate of missed calls against certain players snowdon determined which should be strikes. Were called balls in which balls were aronie. Asli called strikes and then looked at the race of the empire batter and pitcher and what snowden found was that umpires made more advantageous calls when their race was the same as the person receiving the advantage. The difference amounts two point zero three percents which well small can be significant over the course of a single season so point. Three percentage points Snowden estimates that umpires called eighteen thousand pitches differently over the thirteen year period. Which is a little more than a thousand changed calls per year. Any individual player might only receive a handful of these this season but for black players in the league already struggling against discrimination. Any additional barrier is a significant problem.

"I'm going to pursue. Galileo galileo's philosophy my world is also round he sounds like an austin powers villain. This is at a time when when like wedge cars were just coming up so i'm sure this response to that. Yeah despite his somewhat self congratulatory nature. Kelly was actually good at this round guru thing over the years he had designed fiat's the kalani alpha. Which is the first sports car to lap the old nurburgring and under ten minutes the bmw seven hundred which was the first monocoque sports. Car the kalani. Gt kit car and the mazda miata. Amex five whoa very interesting outside of cars. He designed furniture a teapot. He raced catamaran's. He designed a plastic sports airplane. He designed the worst airplane racing plan. I don't know like a plane that you use for sports attention. Yeah that's that's what dude. Perfect dropped a basketball out of the sports. Yeah the guy. That looks like bradley. Cooper was like i love flying a plane with mesh and a number on it. He also designed the canon t ninety an assortment of pens sony headphones swiss air. Uniforms frames jewelry. A computer mouse cosmetics. Glasses more computers. Pianos microphones and even bathrooms showers. This guy did it all and all of them had delicious curves okay. I'm calm on this guy. Office kind of goofing on them rules. He's pretty cool. I came up with a good name for his autobiography mike curvy life. That's my instagram. Bio kalani turned his mind to one. Bodywork inspired more by instinct than technical skills. What he came up with turned everyone's head the first prototype featured a swooping one piece rear wing a one piece cockpit incorporating an airbox in the front a creative one piece front wing with additional cooling. Ducts and a periscope inspired mirror that rose right up from the front of the cockpit while the machine looks snazzy on the outside the components were basically a march seven twenty one f one car with a cosworth. V eight and good worth tires. Unfortunately for kalani liked to brag to the media that other designers didn't understand aerodynamics. Oh god initial testing showed that while the car was fast it did not generate enough downforce and the front and rear wings were causing overheating issues by the time. The iceland type. Twenty-one appeared in south africa for the second round of the nineteen seventy two world championship. Kalani is designed were all but stripped from the car except for the cockpit. Work and the periscope mirror stilman put on a solid performance behind the wheel and ended the weekend in thirteenth place. Two laps down changes to the car were made before the race in spain and the type. Twenty-one arrived sporting a predominantly blue color scheme a single plane rear wing additional small side pods and a chisel style nose cone with small front wings. In spain stamina maintained a respectable sixteenth place until an accident occurred just fifteen laps into the grand prix solomon continued to impress. During the season he sought tenth at monaco not bad eleventh and belgium and sixteenth and france and tenth at brands get for him but unfortunately the teams relative success was not to continue henry. Cheese investment had not held his caravan sales in the way he expected and turn sold the business to someone with zero interest in racing like so many other one-season wonders the funds to run. Iceland dried up and the team decided to call it quits after solomon experienced engine troubles during the austrian grand prix. I gotta see what this thick car. Looks like it's periscope. Rearview mirror is pretty crazy. It's a really cool looking car. At first i was like that would get in your way. But that's basically what f one cars have nowadays with the halo. This is very strange looking. Right what's prototype. Look like though so the blue ones or what they ended up with kalani or is it the white the white one is well. The white ones that white one. Yeah well. they're they're the same car so the white one was like when it first came out. Yeah that like overheated and stuff. Yeah i could see why that looks like a hot like a hot wheels it does. It looks like you're green one. The green one is wild. Wow all right kalani you. Maybe you're all right. I'm gonna ebay after this. And see if i can find colonia one car to hang on the wall as any formula. One fan knows racing. Expensive to of kind. Cars is a billionaires game much like hunting the most dangerous game of all humans okay. That's a billionaires game to teen humans from a helicopter as any formula one fan racing expensive and of a kind cars is a billionaires game so it's understandable that the many first season teams have fallen by the wayside to financial issues others have become clear examples of how not to run a team. Like eric. bradley's lola. Lola was founded by broadly in one thousand nine hundred eighty eight and had been building cars for other formula one teams since the sixties then all the sudden in nineteen ninety-six. Broadly put together a thirty five million dollar sponsorship deal with mastercard with the aim of entering the world championship in nineteen ninety eight. The massacre deal was said to be innovative in that it depended upon using lola's racing activities the draw in customers to the credit card program but mastercard push slow begin racing in one thousand nine hundred seven which meant that. The design would have to be fast tracked. You know Something that is very good for machines as deeply complicated as a formula one car despite the limitations. Broadly confidently claimed that mastercard. Lola had the experience the commitment and the desire to succeed neff one. We've taken the best ideas from specialists in the wind tunnel aerodynamics vehicle dynamics and the like to produce the final machine. His words never quite matched up to reality. Deal is struck two run ford z. Tech rv eight and bridgestone tyres and vincenzo spirit and ricardo russet signed on to drive when the t nine seven dash thirty launched in february. There's only time for brief testing before the cars were shipped to australia for the first round of the nineteen ninety seven championship however even that hurry testing showed that the mastercard lola cars were going to be slow which is the opposite of what you want in this game The t ninety seven dash thirty couldn't generate enough mechanical or aerodynamic grip and thus couldn't get the tires to the correct temperatures spirit and rossett reported that the car had too much drag in a straight line and couldn't generate enough downforce through turns compromising the cornering speed as well and as a result neither car qualified to race in the australian grand prix. The drivers headed to brazil with expectations. That the cars would receive new parts and stronger development as well as an in house built v ten engine however once they arrived. They read the newspapers that their team had entirely collapsed. Cut lola's grand prix. Team had built up six million pounds in debt. Half of which was owed to its parent company low. The cars sponsorship program with mastercard had not helped at all. Lola cars went into receivership and was only saved when martin. Bahrain bought the company from broadly. And that as they say was that good. Yeah guy didn't even design any pens. It sucks that. He was in formula one forever and then just because like mastercard. Wanted him to hurry this up like he kinda ruined his name. Yeah it sucks yemen credit card companies. You can't trust them do you think. Do you know like in donut meetings. It's it's impossible to not use the phrase like we'll house and up to speed and every time there's like a little bit of a cringe when you say you're like i. This is the best way to say this. But i know it's you know this is what we do. Do you think mastercard is is like the same way when they're like some credit. Yeah we we. We have a lot of interest in this. Let's let's charge ahead with design. Well the mastercard deal was yes. He got a mastercard and it was racecar platinum reserve sapphire. Yeah you gotta mastercard sapphire and bought a race car with. We'll get back to more pass gas my sponsors big thanks to better health for sponsoring this episode pass gas. "single season" Discussed on Strong Opinion Sports

"Most yards ever in a single season in NFL history. And it's crazy to do that to run for 2,000 yards in today's modern NFL, where the leak is very different. Even from when Adrian Peterson ran for over 2000 yards in 2012. It's very very different from the 80s. When Eric Dickerson set the record for the all-time record for single-season, rushing yards, and only eight people of ever ran for more than 2,000 yards in a single season. It's really impressive and really cool that Derrick Henry is one of those people and I just, I, it's to me that it's just like, wow, I am so blown away. This happened in the modern NFL and twenty twenty. Now the third take away from the Tennessee Titans 2020 season unfortunately, is Isaiah Wilson. Tennessee. Drafted him in the first round 29th overall, and he failed in the NFL. He is just a, he's categorically a bust. I don't know how you say it any other way that's Kinder or or I could but he is a bust. Isaiah Wilson kept getting in trouble, off the field, eventually the Titans traded him to Miami, but people keep saying, Isaiah Wilson was traded for a seventh-round pick. That's not exactly true home. Tennessee. In Miami, traded seventh-round picks Tennessee. Said, we'll give you our seventh round pick. Miami's gave Tennessee. Their seventh round pick and throwing in the deal was I say a Wilson. So Isaiah Wilson was traded for off and pick and turns you had to give up, not only their seventh-round pick, but also Isaiah Wilson. So that's how undesirable I say was unless he was not even straight-up traded for a seventh-round pick. Can't be packaged together with the seventh round, pick for a seventh-round pick. It's really, really bad. And three days after trading for Isaiah Wilson. Mammy released him, he's now out of the league, it's very sad. The guy clearly has big problems off the field and what's really sad is he's missing out on a great opportunity to make a ton of money. I don't know off a clearly doesn't seem to love football but something's going on in his head I really worry for the guy something's happening there. I will say it's interesting Titans left tackle, Taylor the wand. I actually came out and supported the Titans general manager. A lot of people were like raising the pitchforks. How Could You draft the guy who so clearly had a problem? Well-tailored align made a great point. On some podcast somewhere, he said that box, easy to hide a lot. When you're doing Zoom meetings and that's how the draft process works. And so clearly Isaiah Wilson needs help but Taylor.

"The Celtics. Right. Let's talk about the Celtics took 50 points and, you know, look, I think we're losing sight of what this guy is doing in in the mainstream of birth. I'm good. He is Visa be probably be great. All-time greats, like, I think we're not appreciating. What that guy is able to do as a job, as a point. I mean, I just, this is, this is like, we've never experienced it. Like, I I, you know, I watched Larry, you know, I, I watched Pierce Garnett, you know, we we've had great players top 50 all-time players here. This is, this is special when he's this guy's doing right now and there's you know there's a whole comment about he made before the game against Washington about leadership and how he's a lot of different ways to leave and I and I completely agree with him. I think you know, I don't the press and a lot of the the Palm Terrace. Could kind of wrapped up in this rock, you gotta be screaming and yelling at the oily lead nonsense which I think is foolish. I think you lose your plug and he led his play last night. He dead Let's play against, you know, gets but, but in that big, 60 point game, the question I think is, you know, is as a young guy in your 22000 them, it's how you then try to do it. Consistently, what do you learn from it? And I'm not trying to, I'm not minimizing what he did was when he did was amazing and if it's continue to be amazed, replacing Celtic, history is already there. But I think it's a point where okay, I can do this, you know, it's just you're getting pieces and LeBron had to wage a whole bunch of pieces and then he added pieces. It took him until year ten to win a championship. So that's what I think, you know, Tatum is doing. Paid him has MVP, you know, kalberg said it last night. Now, the question is, how does he use these unbelievable talents, and it's a point where he's winning consistently winning a lot and, and able to beat the yep. Back and and that's no, it's done all of that. But except for the last thing that you said doesn't beat the very best. You know, he's been right to the brink in every single season except for this one, which is the irony of it. This is by far, you know, his best season and especially when you consider the Cove. It's log that he had to bust through, right? He's probably just going to feel right now. I think you mentioned this to me before the broadcast, but 17417 from the free throw line. If there isn't a sign, you know, of his ability to do, what he needs to do. I mean, I remember criticizing, I didn't realize at the time that the Cobra thing was like real for him, you know? But it was like dude, he's just doing the sidestep and it's a great movie. She gets a shot off but you can't be the only thing he does. Well, you know, even saw him try to make a pass, I think it was underneath in the first, maybe quarter to Kemba but he actually dead. Get a little more on selfish in that game. But at least when he was selfish, she wasn't just shooting from outside. He was attacking him and just that three level scorer and then trying to build in some playmaking, but I'm going to have to put this but on it. And, you know, I think ball movement is so key for this team and Jayson Tatum suggested. So I'm not taking away from the fact that he put up fifty like, he put up, fifty, but Robert Williamson..

"Not in. What are we doing here? I just didn't understand that part of home of Brad. Stevens is really weird as soon as Bobby said rotation I was like, yeah what was the White Flag? What was the White Flag line up to begin the 4th with Tatum in there? I mean, it's, it's one of the other girl was out there, man, look at what's happened to these guys, Jimmy. I'm not going to have to, I'm just nodding my head, like, I won't stop off. All nice. It's just, this is the kind of game where you have to make some kind of statement. All right, the net. So did they made a stadium for rewriting? The statement? You wanted them to make a right about that fact that show how deep they are as a team and then so that did nothing about it when regardless okay you don't have Jalen Brown out there. You still have Tatum you're not playing against Kevin Durant I thought there was a great opportunity just to grab a win am sure blow? I've done my best to defend Grant Williams against the heard here and I'm just I can't do it tonight. I just can't they're going to have to have Adam because I get this. Nothing I can say. After this one serious fashion show, if you put together Grant Williams lowlights tape, would it be the worst tape in the history of a single season? Like, some of his stuff is so ugly. Forget, like, forget like bad play or not being impactful, or just some of his ugly. Shit is so freaking. Ugly, he goes, he goes real ugly credit to his job. Jerry Jordan, when he tried to help him up on the Fastbreak. Jordan just his head must have been spinning as he was nursing that injury on the ground. Yeah. If the if the commenters are accurate night's loss is entirely Grant Williams and Brad Stevens fault everybody, everybody shares that was getting past the rage stick to Jimmy because wage then we started this game. I mean, I John think about that. Here's the thing. Here's why I'm not even, you know, you know what, you know what's the worst part about my reaction is that I'm not even really that surprised. Like that's the worst part, right? The opposite of Love are opposite of Love is indifference. That's how I feel about this team right now, man, because this loss was just like all their other losses, you know, they go down, big claw, their way back to his fake little come back, and then lose, and then, but this has been such a good month of them..

Just just a bit below the belt to be honest with you post now anyway. I don't know where it's really start. Because i was just unbelievably really like biggest fan. What's that contract offer. So i suppose if you some leagues if you talk about the utah jazz front office. Maybe a bit overrated. Not in that regard. I think on twitter social age in general so discourse of the nba. He's quite resembling chris. Ause filed limited is is he is. He's a very limited offensively. Post guy is his offensive game. Basically ceram so dunks alley oops pick relatives. We're supposed to have one have the we would actually happen. Fully in twenty nineteen or twenty must be the first year. I don't recall that either I think i twenty nineteen was the first year. They sort of is like an invitational next year. We're supposed to be beth teitell standings and now it's back to Imitation or the. That's what this is. This is the hail mary for them. And i think talked about on the podcast that this is the way. You goose your relevance on the tv market by writing on a existing property that his great numbers so it makes sense league. I'm ex would like to expand beyond its current audience and things. They can do that in the english speaking audience. There's obviously they have a couple of games You know a year on f s one in english. They think this is an opportunity for them to grow their base. I didn't they're right but they're coming from a position of of existing dominance and. Mls is trying to be a. Hey guys can we. Can we hit you right on this train. I like your trains. good. I like your train If it works awesome. I think there's you know there's been conversations for a long time about a joint league which is extremely complicated based on the size of both of these leagues and the geographical span. So this is a good. What's titus out i. Let's see if we can make a new. Mos fans out of league mx. Let's see if we can ride so the lease cup happens. The the group's age games do fine. The championship game does great somehow. And then we see a little slight pick-up in in two thousand twenty two in mls. And so ah portland timbers versus fc. Dallas game has ten thousand more viewers on the national. Stage are a good. That's great. i think that's what we want to have happened. And and even if it doesn't even if it doesn't that doesn't happen. It's the small incremental growth. That's still something. If that's getting good ratings you still tie that into your tv package as kind of a here. We're we're going to give you the league's cups so your every year. You're going to have a big big rating event. Like the least and i want to add. I wanna make a comment To sort of clarify my comment. I think from 'em rickling says how. Mls cheap to get into if station will send the mls. Valuations are higher than all european clubs. Saved the biggest clubs in europe. That is expensive not cheap. The difference is the reason. I the reason i do think some european clubs are are are are cheaper Is a lot to do with you. Know they are small small clubs and small little towns and cities. There's also a lot of risk. Involved you take over a club like newcastle yet. You know you might. You have a chance of going in there and and and making a big but you also the risk of dropping noun and losing a lot of your money. So that's why you're not gonna see three two hundred. Three hundred million dollar valuations valuations. Coming in for those clubs. And i think that's something to say. Yes you're paying two hundred fifty million dollars for an expansion fee and mls. But you know you're gonna be playing an mls every single season so that's even a safer investment than some of these other european clubs. So i think what will put. We're gonna put a bow on that. We have a couple of things we got problem..

"Okay if you could recommend reading for. A single woman enamored woman. What would you say girl. Focus on this as a single. And if you're in a marriage with kids or without keys girl focused on this okay so there are several books that have just been an amazing impact on my life and one of the books that i would recommend to see. People in their single season is called the walk of the spirit. The walk of power. And it's by dave roberston and the reason why i recommend this book is that he talks about in this book. And it's actually a free. Pdf download on his website. But you don't even have to purchase the book. What i love about. This book is that he's specifically talks about his journey in meeting the holy spirit and the holy spirit coming into his life and the holy spirit helping him to discover his purpose and who the holy spirit is and what the holy spirit brings into the life of a believer and that may not seem like. Why would you tell a single person who need to read a book on the holy spirit. Because when that relationship is flourishing the holy spirit is going to help you do all the internal work that you need to do and when you are connected to the holy spirit he will go with you into your next season. He'll go with you into your marriage and so the same holy spirit. That helps you walk out. You're single season will then also be present to help you walk out. You're married season and we need his help everything. He's the spirit of wisdom. He's the spirit of might he's power he reveals the will of god he reveals your purpose. He reveals the gifts of the spirit. He reveals an establishes end produces a new the fruit of the spirit. Which you're gonna need love joy. Peace patience kindness. Gentleness self control we need to have control in that single season. We need control because we have so many people that we'll talk about the all. Self pledging not a sin. It's okay you know watching pornography is not a san because you're not actually doing anything with and you'll have christian people that will say these things but what is the holy spirit say about south control. What does he say about keeping your body. Holy what does he say. It's the holy spirit. That helps us to be purified and to develop those gifts and those gifts are developed us through our relationship with him..

D- don't give up fasting and praying. And letting god do the work in you in the marriage and in your spouse and for those that are in the single season allow the holy spirit to prune and work and you as much as possible because when you went enter into marriage what you're entering into is more challenges and more things that you have to work through and that really is the most accurate word that we can use to describe. Marriage is that it's it's work on this occasion. Park the home of all things so here. "Gonna get better right. I mean they need to find themselves number. Could you imagine this team with a decent number two receiver. Could you imagine if tyreek hill had a number two receiver. Michael irvin head with the alvin harper. Could you imagine if team had a john. Taylor go alongside a tyreek hill type. Could you imagine how potent this offense would be. Could you imagine how incredible this office could be. It's already at that level. So my my my deal is there. Everything is based on the unbelievable greatness. Patrick mahomes playing at a higher level of domination in any qb. Over the last ten or fifteen years. I really we played mainly unbelievable. Peyton mailing was incredible. Peyton manning with brady thing and then we've had this young group of quarterbacks coming in and the way they played in the way the league is moving in a different direction so the classic pocket passer is becoming more extinct every single season. But sometimes i think we're kind of forgetting management away from the game for a few years but when manning was rolling with With the colts when he was in his physical prime. I think we forget. How absolutely dominating absolutely great. How great he was but with indianapolis how many championships that he went one with mahomes. He's already won one. He's playing for another not to sunday but the upcoming with the next sunday after that he has just begun. This journey. Patrick mahomes has had a bad year yet when peyton manny came into the league through tornado. Twenty eight interceptions. And he used to. He would say he looked when i first came into the league and i started playing quarterback my thing. Was you know what. I don't care if marvin harrison had the entire team. I'm throwing the football because i had so little confidence in myself to read and do all these other things. Which is marvin harrison. Marvin harrison marvin harrison. That's one of the reasons. Why pete many many interceptions that he did. We haven't had we haven't seen patrick mahomes. Go through anything right. That patrick mahomes hit the ground running like he was a eight time.

Mark McGwire set the single season home run record that was later. Beaten by bury bones. So that's there's single season record. And then there's all time home run record. And Barry Bonds holds both of those. But he was also a roid roid rage. Yes, yes. So But there was, but for the single season one it went Hank Aaron, and then Mark McGwire broke that and then a few years later, Barry Bonds broke that record. So Excuse me. Excuse me. Excuse me. I think of the record books. Then, though Hank Aaron is still considered. I don't know that that I am not willing to excuse me. That foreign guy in the chat room says the Hank still has R B I in bases. Whatever that means. I don't know. All I know is that Hank Aaron is dead. That's that's what I okay. All right. And at halftime, Shaquille O'Neal said, Yeah, the Donovan Mitchell. He's good score, but you know he's not the full package. He's never gonna make it to the next level. Then at the end of the game after the Jazz one Shaquille O'Neal is interviewing Donovan Mitchell. He's like, I just want to make sure you heard this. I said I didn't think you could make it to the next level. You don't have all the pieces you need. And Donald Mitchell went right. Alright. Shaquille O'Neal was trying to you know. Motivate him like no, like I can get better shack. Thanks for the pep talk on being better, and Donovan was having none of it so good for him. What have another chance to have none of it tomorrow night that play the Warriors. And of course, don't forget this weekend. Greg McBride spoke about it with Cuomo's Tom Cutler. Well, most of us are impacted by at least one or two of these interest rates that you cite in this new forecast. Let's talk about some of these may be starting with the interest rates. Yeah, I mean, did the broad interest rate picture is that the Federal Reserve is going to keep short term rates unchanged? Not only this year, but probably for the next couple of years. S so you don't have that catalyst for, you know, seeing rates move up. That's the good news of your bar where you can have the wind at your back and that respect on so you know, I think that certainly positive course. The flip side of that is saver is going to take it on the chin for the time being, Okay? What about mortgage home equity things of that nature? Well, mortgage rates finished 2020 at record lows, and I expect they're going to go even lower here in the early part of 2021. Prime time for refinancing. You know, there's just, you know, that's that's really the most meaningful financial impact the ability to cut your monthly payments by 152 103 100 Bucks a month. Home equity, You know, not going to be any impetus for higher rates, in fact, in the back half of the year expect that those rates could get more competitive, particularly if we start to see mortgage rates that jumped in the latter part of the year. A lot of lenders would shift their focus to home equity if the refinancing volume started to dry up. Of course we're on, you know less than solid footing when it comes in because it into the air as we exited 2020 because of the pandemic in the uncertainty with the economy, the things that I would assume like credit card that Something. They really think that our listeners should get a grip on his quickly as possible. Yeah, I mean, if there's if you if you have credit card debt that's really top priority is getting that paid down and paid off his quickly as possible. And the good news is, If you have good credit, you're in the position that you can find those 0% balance transfer offers of those other low rate offers. That can accelerate that debt repayment. You're not going to see an environment of of rising rates. Unfortunately, those with weakened credit that's not going to be the case. You're gonna pay higher rates..

"Buffalo patriots and this was a great one josh allen dance in his way into the playoffs visiting the patriots bills looking for the season. Sweep over the past for the first time this century and it started with a little bit of trickery. Four minutes left in the first quarter and look at that to kwan. How about that under one minute left in the first quarter fourth and one patriots forty three yard line allen fixed the hand off keeps informed software twenty two yard gain and the first down bills were having their away with the patriots in this game. Bill Barnwell on NFL Undefeated Teams + Monday Preview

"Bill Barnwell. It is late Sunday night almost midnight, which means it's time for you to make me smarter about the NFL. I'm going to try my best Baba Bill. Barnwell is a senior writer for ESPN host of the Bill Barnwell show and he's procrastinating his deadline to talk to me. So we just watched the saints and the packers on Sunday night football and the saints lost without. Their Star Receiver Michael Thomas. But that did not stop us from getting a whole bunch of touchdowns drew brees and Aaron Rodgers. Each threw for three a piece. But in the end, the packers won the saints lost and they've now lost New Orleans says back to back games for the first time since two thousand, seventeen bill I know you are writing a new piece about drew brees coming off of the two year deal that drew brees signed in the offseason and what we've now seen from him through these first three weeks what did you see in Sunday night's games he regressing improving? What do we have with bruise right now? Okay. So public drew brees definitely improving this is a better performance from him. Me brees was downright bad on Monday night in week two against the raiders before we got to garbage time and breeze didn't do deep very frequently until this game was out of hand but I think the concerns i. have read or have heard about arm strength or how deep is passes typically go they don't really get how reason this offense actually worked. Breezes sort of like. A singles hitter in baseball like Tony Gwynn lagging time where a post player with no range in basketball he's not going to suddenly start throwing deeply. He's Patrick Mahomes at forty one years old breeze has succeeded. Over the last three years while throwing the shortest paths in the League because he's posted the three best single season completion. In NFL history. Now. The good news for the Saints Good News For Saints Fans is that brees was much more accurate on Sunday night it was twenty, nine, thirty, six for two, hundred, eighty, eight yards a lot of that West Alvin Kamara who did a lot of the work but still going to end up thirty six is still better than where brees was. The bad news was just about everything else. The Saints Lost Starters Jared Cook and Andres P to injuries while devante. Adams List Aaron Rodgers threw for two hundred, eighty, three yards and those three touchdowns you mentioned. The saints focused on adding veterans with nicknames Emmanuel Sanders and balcony. Jenkins this off season. But. Sanders hasn't been able to stand out with ankle Thomas Injured and Jenkins has been picked apart in pass coverage including Mercedes Lewis touchdown on Sunday night the attorney for more accurate breeze that was a bright spot. But if the saints continue to struggle with injuries and get disappointing play from their stars, the Orleans is going to need this version of free stick around to have a chance to compete in the NFC. So the packers emerged three no, and that's where a lot of focus the rest of our conversation here on the teams that are now undefeated through three weeks of the NFL season. So bill, let's push deeper into the NFC here because the Chicago Bears Be Chicago bears are somehow three you know and they do it by beating the Falcons thirty to twenty six Chicago was trailing by sixteen head coach. Matt Nagy Decides to pull quarterback Mitch Trubisky in favor of the veteran nick foles mister big bleep nick himself who goes on to throw three touchdown passes in the fourth quarter. So I have a two part question for you now. Why are the Falcons physically incapable of holding onto a fourth quarter lead and? Secondly, where does this leave the whole quarterback situation in Chicago? Let me answer the second part of that question I. The bears are going to flail by the seat of their pants for the rest of the season I would assume that nick foles is going to start until he struggles and the bears trailing by two touchdowns in the fourth quarter a couple weeks from now, I would point Mitch Trubisky will come in and lead them to victory and the cycle will start the new. Unfortunately I don't have one simple takeaway for our poor friends and Atlantic. Is Different From what we saw in week to as. Much. As the defense was disappointing in this game, the offense really deserves a fair chunk of the blame for what happened scored a touchdown on the opening drive third quarter, and then basically tried to sit on their lead, Matt Ryan and company REPA- total three first downs on their next six is before the bears took the lead back and the only scored one field goal over that time after bisky intercession back running back Brian L. dropped an easy third down conversion which would have put the Falcons and field goal range. Then on the next drive kicker, young coup miss a forty eight yard field goal attempt. I know. I mean let's be fair. The Falcons defense was very bad. I'm not sure the Falcons are gonNA make any drastic changes on Monday morning, but Arthur blank can feel great about seeing this happen. On his seventy eighth birthday and. I believe I'm not mistaken not the only person celebrating birthday on Sunday. Having Birthday Pamela. Day Pablo. Yeah this is a hard way to discover that you share a birthday with the owner of the Atlanta Falcons Bill, which feels like you just cast a pox upon my house.

Dwayne The Rock Johnson is Buying an Entire Football League

"For many of us, Monday nights sieve Longman, Monday, night football. So today's a good day to consider a shakeup in the football world. The potential revival of a would be competitor to the National Football League last week actor and former pro wrestler Dwayne the Rock Johnson with other investors bought a start-up Football League called the xfl this take some explanation especially to those who aren't avid sports fans. Let's start with the xfl contrary to popular belief. The NFL doesn't football is just had a monopoly for the most part for so long that most. Most people consider it an institution for the last couple of decades though rivals have attempted to build new leagues to compete with the. NFL. The XFL is one of those its roots began way back in the year two, thousand when World Wrestling Federation chairman. Vince. McMahon decided to build a league that could compete with the NFL NBC Cohen the League and planned to carry its games the XFL plan to extend the football season by playing games from just after the Super Bowl in February. Until late April. Now, at the time league owners, hopes were high that the Saturday night games could Wu and elusive audience TV. Teenage boys according to CNN. Vince McMahon. WWF had been almost magical in its ability to appeal to twelve to twenty four year. Old Males who typically don't stay home watching TV on Saturday nights. The xfl hoped McMahon could bring that WWF formula to football and win that desirable TV audience, and for one brief moment, it looked like their hopes were within reach the first game in two thousand, one drew more than fifteen million viewers a massive audience. That gold ring looked close and yet it turned out to be so far away as the season wore on audiences spell like a botched handoff after that single season, the xfl shutdown. Sometimes in life timing really is everything, and so it goes for Vince McMahon who decided that twenty twenty would be the right time to revive the xfl it launched in February, pitching the Seattle dragons against the DC defenders teams played five games among both players and owners. Optimism rained TV audiences varied by geography, but were decent enough that by March believe was well into planning the twenty twenty, one season. And then Kobe came along the League canceled the season March twentieth less than a month. Later, the XFL filed for bankruptcy sports writers added the xfl lists of other WanNa, NFL competitors who'd also tried to make a go of it over the years. The XFL seemed to be just another failed startup, but perhaps they declared the league's death too soon. Let's get back to Dwayne Johnson better known as the Rock Johnson actually started his career as a football player, but never made it to the NFL instead, he joined Vince McMahon's wwf where he quickly rose to superstardom before retiring to become an actor, he's now the highest paid actor in the world according to Forbes. With his business partner Danny Garcia who also happens to be his ex wife, the rock led the fifteen million dollar purchase of the. xfl. Out of Bankruptcy Sports Management Company redbird capital as a third partner. Johnson says the purchase was actually Garcia's idea she loves football and when the XFL declared bankruptcy, she saw their chance to own not just a team but an entire league not to get too grand about this. Consider that the salary of a single NFL football star say. Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak. Prescott is thirty, one million dollars. That's more than double what the partners paid for the xfl which has eight teams. Still, the deal made headlines. Perhaps it's a bit of hopeful light entertainment amidst the onslaught of grim. News in two thousand, twenty, Garcia. Johnson. Say They plan to produce multimedia content for fans year round, not just during the active spring season at production time, they hadn't yet said when the League will start to play again.

'I Played A Season Of The WNBA Secretly Pregnant'

"So Alexis tell us about Schuyler digging Smith the player Skyward Digging. Smith is phenomenal biggest. She has obviously the ability to score in score. Well but she is a great facilitator a true floor. General did first of all so not only can she make shots for herself and score really well on her own but she also is very good at finding her teammates and making sure they have opportunities and what she like as a person. I tried a lot of different sports. Basketball was the one that kind of stuck with me. Something does drove me and continue to drive me. I wanted to be the best very vocal. Very passionate very young. I guess and fresh you can see that through her through endorsements and her the workout kind and one two and three and four contracts relief contract threatening. That's right this is ridiculous Schuyler Digging Smith but not as ridiculous as an outdated sports drink and then on social media just her vocalness she was very vocal about. Wnba athletes getting equal pay. Don't act like you don't see the discrepancy. You know adult. Don't make me feel like I'm crazy. This is not new as far as not getting paid and she actually sat out last season after giving birth to her son and while she was out she was pretty vocal about her unhappiness with how her team the Dallas Wings handled her becoming a new mom. Can you walk us through that drama? So during the two thousand nineteen season that Skyler was sitting out. After having a baby she took to twitter and expressed how she was unhappy with the organization and didn't feel. They supported her through her pregnancy. She wrote people. Call me a quitter. Said I gave up on my team. Not Knowing took two full months away from everything because the postpartum depression with limited sources to help me be successful mentally and physically but just wait though keep that same energy continue. I've played the entire season pregnant last year. All Star in the league top three to five in MPG. Didn't tell a soul. Wow it was very eye opening for all of us and really the catalyst who okay. She is going to step away from this organization eventually right so that lack of support leads her to request a trade from the wings. Yes where she was going to go was obviously a mystery and with that she got interest from multiple teams the Phoenix Mercury. Being one of them. And when did we first start to hear that the mercury were serious about Landing Skyler Diggins? The mercury are a pretty good at keeping things. You Know Fairly Hush Hush I think rumors were swirling that it could be a potential landing spot but really it didn't start until WNBA free agency opened up on February tenth. Lots of signings lots of trades. Lots of deals happen the very first day but then on the second day the Phoenix Mercury sent one of their all-stars to WanNa Bonner to the Connecticut Sun in exchange for two top ten twenty twenty draft picks and a twenty twenty one first round draft pick and that kind of sets the rumors ablaze of. What are they going to do with that? Who are they going to get? And that's when Schuyler is name really started popping up in association with the Mercury the Dewana trade happened on the eleventh and twenty four hours after It was announced that Skyler would come to Phoenix. And tell us about this mercury team that Skyler diggins joining you have arguably the best player in the world in Diana Teresi Rossi barrels luxury back in front or Ossius. Twenty-five she's fiery on and off the court. She's opinionated. She will tell it like it is when she has the ball in her hands. She is controlling every aspect of the game and making sure that the ball gets where it needs to be a Rossi fodder for the Finnish dish from Diana Toronto and the chemistry that you see her build with her teammates in practice and in Games when she is playing is second to none and Brittany griner at center One of the most dominant athletes on the court favorite thing is blocking Williams workings rider system. She holds the WNBA record in blocks in a single game and single season so definitely a lot of all stars around Schuyler. The mercury are clearly already stacked but despite that they've had a couple of really disappointing years last season. Diana GERACI was injured and the team lost during the first round of the playoffs. Chicago sky around two decisive victory over Phoenix seventy six. The final teams will often start thinking about a rebuild after underperforming like this or when injuries catch up with marquee players was that ever a thought in Phoenix. Not a rebuild but a kind of re strategize a focus on getting healthy a focus on Dan atrocity getting back one hundred percent. Britney griner toward the end of the season was dealing with injuries. I think a big thing for the mercury knowing that Diana Tracy is thirty seven years old and likely at the tail end of her career that it was important to make one big last tidal run. But I think part of getting all those draft picks for Dewana and setting the stage for this blockbuster trade was really to put the team in a great position to contend for a title with Dan Atrocity. And what's what's Phoenix hoping to get out of Schuyler now that she's on the team. I talked with head coach. Sandy Brunello after the Schuyler deal was done and she said that there was going to be a focus on being a lot more physical more playmaking ability and that is something that skyler definitely brings to the table. We're not very Closest Diane Army to will to win passion for the game. But she's white fire Panel the bone she create obviously is a real tough defender with Schuyler. Here are some of the decision. Making some of the ball handling will also fall into Schuyler slap and knowing that Schuyler signed a multi year deal and that Diana is looking toward the end of her career. I think it would ultimately be a good transition to start building the team out instead of the team solely focusing on one star player. And why does this trade makes sense from Schuyler perspective? I think it places Schuyler. In a great position to play alongside A player like dance Rossi to play alongside Brittany griner but also with the team culture. The mercury have kind of the best family planning and Family Facility is in the league. I think they're building a new practice facility state of the art but they also have a quote unquote family room. They have a lot of MOMS on the team. The coaches have kids and it really is a family atmosphere so I think looking at what? Schuyler went through it made sense for her to land with the mercury knowing. There's these all-stars knowing they prioritize family knowing that she won't have to hopefully worry about some of the things she dealt with in

Bengals at the Combine in Indianapolis, taking a closer look at Joe Burrow

"With us here from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis where we will be all week so much going on. I'm waiting next with Adam. Schefter Louis Riddick Todd mcshay and Mike Tannenbaum just to catch you up right now. Here's what's happening today in Indianapolis. It will be a very busy week. At Five o'clock eastern though owners are expected to meet players to talk about the new CBA which could expand the playoffs and move to a seventeen game regular season. We've got forty seven. Nfl head coaches and GMT. We'll be talking today. You're also hear from SEC. Standouts Joe Borough and to a ton of Aloha who also addressed the media earlier today. Jonesboro put on an absolute show as you know on route to a national championship for Lsu setting an FBI. Single season record with sixty touchdown passes and Ditto. While completing a whopping seventy six percents of his passes and not only that but bro won the heisman trophy in dominant fashion receiving a record ninety point seven percent of the first place votes here. Our previous comments from Joe Borough on February seventeenth during a reception. For the Davey. O'brien award. He had this to say I do have leveraged the Bengals have their process and I have my process. We haven't even gotten to the combine yet. There's a lot of things that happened. Leading up to the draft. A lot of information gathered bras. Mother Robin shot down the idea. Her son does not want to play for the bengals. Saying we have no idea where that came from. It's a story out there that has created that doesn't have any substance at least from our perspective here Hasbro earlier today here at the combine. Of course I want to be the first pick. That's that's every kid's dream you know I've worked really really hard for this opportunity and I'm blessed to be in this position. I'm a ball player. Whoever picks me on my go show up? How play whoever for forever dressing? You know. I'm just not going to be presumptuous. About what they WANNA DO I. It's the draft. You guys have been covered it for a long time and you never know what's going to happen so we played a month longer than everyone else and everyone else's been training a month longer than us you know. I wanted to put. I don't I didn't think I'd be able to put my best foot forward here at the combine so I wanted to wait till pro day had another whole month of training and just be the best that I could be when everyone when. Everyone's eyes are on me. You know coming in. If you're the number one pick the teen is picking number one. Is there for a reason? So you're going to have to come in. There's going to be ups and downs and you've got to stay steady through the process. Our research tells us about Joe. Borough is his own man. He's not going to be talked into saying things for other people's benefits so if that's what he said. That's that's fantastic. I'm looking forward to getting to know him getting to meet him through. The process haven't been able to sit down with them yet. But we've got that on the horizon. We'll talk more about Joe. Boroughs plans to hold off throwing here at the combine. But might I'll start with you in terms of do you want? Do you not want to play for the being. You have any issues at all with where we landed at least at this point. No I mean as I said last week Joe Borough at the end he does not have leverage. The bengals have the first pick in the draft. If they want to draft. Joe Joe Borough. That's where he's GonNa go now with that. Said I think it's incumbent upon sack Taylor in the Bengal organization to create the Right Environment. Where he could come in and they could build something sustainable and truly transformative so. I think where we wended. Wendy is appropriate last week. He could've handled that better but to Joe Boroughs credit. I think they tweak things I think they're in a good spot now. He's been well-coached past week. Tower doesn't it. Yeah and Adema to your Do All your contacts. It appears that borough likely young he's projected pick. I still think that's where the bengals ultimately go. And they're sitting there and that's about this a team that needs somebody to revitalize that franchise and they are expected to look to trade Andy Dalton at some point this off season and so when you're sitting there in division with Lamar Jackson there in Baltimore think that they know that they have to get somebody in there. That's going to put some points on the Board Baker Mayfield Cleveland and this is going to be the pick for the Cincinnati bengals. Even Joe was considering trying to exercise some kind of leverage really the only leverage you have is withhold your services and not playing not report even if he was thinking along those lines. Let's say he's doing a deep dive trying to figure out exactly. Just what the Cincinnati offer as far as developing me as a quarterback. Could you blame him? Could you really blame him for wanting to dig? Deep on exactly what? What does the future going to look like during over the course of my rookie contract with this football team would exactly? What exactly is Mike Brown's commitment to go ahead and building out this roster around me because we all know a lot of what's going to happen to him has nothing to do with him and has everything to do with everything that's going to be around him. Just look at the past three or four drafts. And how certain players have benefited from going to certain to certain teams? Just look at l a look at the difference between jar rookie year in his second year. Sean mcvay came in. It flipped his rookie year. People were saying Jared Goff to Canada. All of a sudden his second year is like. Oh wait a minute. Maybe he's not so bad you couldn't blame him. If that was a thought Lewis to that point I also think an opportunity. If you're Zach Taylor to say hey what's happened in the past. It's irrelevant we're going to myself with you and we're going to build something great and we can't worry about what's happened before we have a lot of work to do. But if I'm the bengals if I have a hey coach Taylor. That's worked with quarterbacks. Like you mentioned Jared Goff Joe Boroughs Billy and character. That's a great opportunity for the bengals. Sino three things one. Is that if something were to go on with. The bengals is not going to happen in public and this has been addressed in the past week if it's going to happen behind the scenes so whatever we hear from this point on. Don't even don't even look at it. Don't think about it because it has nothing to do with with what is going on behind the scenes. The second thing is this guy's different cab he beats. It goes a Beatles drummer. He doesn't care what anyone else has done. In the past what everyone else is GonNa do in the future? He's going to do what's best for Joe Borough but the third thing I know about him is he's a football guy he's his. His brothers played linebacker at safety at Nebraska. His Dad's a almost four decades coach in football. He's a football guy at its core. He's from Ohio. Obviously I think when it's all said and done he winds up going in Cincinnati if he's number one overall pick but again. If it's GonNa Happen it's GonNa Happen. Not In the media. It's GonNa happen behind the scenes again. Joe Bro not expected to throw on Thursday. He said he just wasn't ready yet. Not a huge deal. Sam Darnold Kyla Murray. The last two years have opted not to throw here at the combine as well. What did make headlines on Sunday? Oddly enough pros hand measurements the measurable quarterbacks took place on Sunday on the smaller side. Love listen here's what he said after it was suggested his aunt size was small considering retirement after. I was informed that we slipping out of my tiny hands. Please keep me in your thoughts while he's got good company because here's what Super Bowl fifty four. Mvp Patrick Mahomes had to say who had just slightly larger hands than did borough my small Andrew doing great so far all right he should say believe in yet. Here's borough earlier today addressing his hands. Yeah I mean these measurements you can. You can take so much from them if it's a glaring issue on film with turnovers. Yeah it's probably an issue but I didn't have a lot of fumbles or anything like that so I just tried to make a little joke out of it I think it's a non factor I don't get paid to talk about. Measurements and analyze. The measurements like played to play football. So that's what I'm GONNA do. I look we're not gonNA make too much of this question. Well yet about what? They actually do what they're actually measuring here so worry not. We've got a ruler. We've got Louis at. I mean really what you're really trying to do is just trying to measure the expense of someone and they put it down on the ground and you actually hear about guys actually doing hand exercises to stretch their hand as wide as possible although when you're grabbing a football you're actually going to measure from the tip of the thumb to the tip of the Pinky here and this is hard because this is a hard rule and you can't really get good accurate measuring you look tired type by just under nine right. Look I'll give you a non center's Oh that's attention and would have actually done something with my. I mean what's interesting when you watch the tape of Joe Borough? There are situations where people come from behind strip him when he's trying to move up in the pocket and run. I mean that's going to happen if you have nine if you have ten inches so I mean it's not a glaring obvious problem as far as him on the football field and that's why I think it's really. It's just going to be something that will hopefully wind up forgetting about certain the biggest thing is and you know this with all of these drills you know as well. Mike you go back to the tape and you're trying to find something after the fact that says okay. Now I'm going to look specifically at these things so you're gonNA look cold weather rain and then ball security and Joe Boroughs as good as any college quarterback you're ever going to see in the pocket in terms of two hands on the ball and protecting the ball. I saw him in two thousand eighteen the last weekend. In September against Ole Miss. You can go back and watch the tape. My suit was soaking wet when I did the open of that game. It was pouring rain driving rain in anyone who says it doesn't rain in Baton Rouge on a Saturday night is lying to you. Because it poured and he completed seventy two percent of his throws with three touchdowns and zero interceptions in that game. So you go back to the tape and you try to look at these things and what the tape tells you is. He's just fine. You know I had a theory here. I have an interesting experience with hand size so I was forced out in two thousand eight. We were we trade for Brett Farve and just as a fan of sport. I can't wait to go out to the first practice and watch Brett farve throw. There's nothing physically imposing about breath and he goes out there and he's throwing Abe I've ever seen and I ask them like what is the value. Where's this philosophy comes from it? He said you know what Mike I have long fingers and I actually couple of football the way a lot of people throw a softball. I could actually be over the top and that's where I get all my philosophy from just watching my practice. It was unbelievable to watch though. I know as Lewis show. There's a tradition of how we measure hands but finger. Length is actually an underrated aspect of playing quarterback so far so far small hands but long fingers and you know what my pinky and all the time strong throwing football pictures of the five. It's easily the least important finger in the hand and I can't remember it ever being a big factor. It's all there in the grip. The pinky to me doesn't matter. It's archaic. How we're measuring the quarterback's hand span now with that. Said there's thirty four quarterbacks in the last fourteen years who have been drafted that have had hands of nine inches and smaller and really only two of them had any sort of Sustained Success Ryan. Tannehill is one of them and Jared. Goff is the other. That's it so there are thirty two out of thirty four. Who have failed. But are we going to say that he's going to the Joe Boroughs? Not GonNa have success because his hands tells me that the reason for their failure wasn't because they were nine inches weight.
