"I feel like it is. It's just so easy to get swept up in the urgency of the to do list and and and not think about the bigger questions like Is this what i really want. Anyway or my or my neglecting more transcendent values. Because i'm just sort of taking care of the day to day so nice people think. Oh it's not good to think about your happiness all the time. And i'm like well i to at least for me i never thought about it Because i just never step back to say like. Is there any way that i could be. Is there any low hanging fruit. is there any. Yeah just stuck within my easy reach. That i could do. Yeah 'cause i just i can't ross myself back west. I think it was maybe in the an angela. Duckworth book on grit that. I remember thinking about that question of feeling like propelled. Because i was always may be over propelled through the world and i lived in kind of like middle distance where it was always. It was always someday wasn't today wasn't quite tomorrow and and it wasn't honestly till i was so sick that i couldn't i just physics. I physically couldn't do that. That i started thinking about. Some of the questions you're describing. It was some of that. Like how do i get it. Those bigger will i have. I'm not sure. I'll have all the time in the world to get to those big questions but now that i'm a bit humbled by circumstances and you know now that i'm taking part is there a person may be. I'm supposed to that. I should be instead because not entirely sure how to live. If i'm not just doing everything that's in front of me. But i think that's why there's so much value in your work. Kate is because you've sort of been forced to think about those big questions and you can kind of take us through your thinking and your experience and then. I think that helps us to think about doing it ourselves. Yeah certainly did not want to volunteer. Unfortunately but But you but you are so good at at helping other people think through those costume. Thanks gretchen get a lot of messages from people who are just kind of simul. Were also kind of undone. Like they've lost somebody that they love or they get they lose their job. They lose a dream or there or even just like they're on a relationship ends or their kids move out and this world that they loved no longer exists and then there are so many of us are forced into a kind of reevaluation that we don't even necessarily have time

"That's like she this unit a neuron fires and then it would excite or inhibit neuron and this is like a rapid summation one step. But what your muchly to dues. That they don't necessarily have an excited terrain victory effect the change the states of the neuron ra- nets words in a way that they would respond differently to futures scenery as it's like rashawn cools work on switching states. That kind of thing. Maybe it goes back to some of the ideas that i've seen band album with singer. Germany siemens like how Like dopamine changes the state of the network different opening receptors with activated would move youth through this state space different like basins of the tractor. Which i think these amazing theoretical ideas that have not been explored. And what matt talked about in your previous one of the previous episode's reminded me of that. That dopamine has this rule in attention for example and these snowdrifts might have been related to that and we currently have no way of incorporating these in our Computational models in our artificial neural networks and this might be an avenue to do something which is the key. I see myself at least in the future. doing that. a proposed this to the simul foundation. But i think it's a fascinating idea. We'll see more of this in the future. How these different neurosurgery signals like. Dopamine this one as choline serotonin norepinephrine how visa not neurotransmitter not non neurotransmitters. These new modulate signals the state of the network. If there's a connection back to the ai maybe this is something that we can contribute to their understanding. Maybe this be one of the wings of plane. I was originally going to ask you. And now i'm going to bring back in about your thoughts. Broadly about a. Where are we an understanding dopamine and its roles like broadly right But then be. I wanted to get back to this idea of the idea of noor modulate nor modular tori modulations being slow and traditionally. You think when you think about computation you think about binary you think about spikes or not spikes ones or zeros. And that's how you compute things but do you think we're trending toward a multi multi temporal scaling story of computation where nra modular tori effects might be a slow part of that computation whereas the spiking is just another faster. Part of the computation. And where we're going to get this Eventual hierarchy of scaled temporal computation. That's a lot to think about. I know and that's those are two different questions. But if you have thoughts on either of those. I'd love to hear to your second question. Maybe i question yeah. This is the first question..

"Yalta plus eastern box office at the minute given the way the world the minute however yeah this is gonna be fun exciting new journey again a love bad batch but it was star wars star wars and mation. I one very good animation. The story the character the moments we played into the komo's and gawk said komo's seven point this was whereas this is i knew automated series which feels like a new animated series. So well guess what you expected. My at another necessarily mean what episode is going to be the based on. What's going to happen every episode ever more. You're expected to come from star wars visions. You're gonna watch your on the twenty second drops or that weekend. Now what you expect to be the of this little foray into the world of anime so very good question my boy so very good question. I think some people get it. Yes my thanks right. But listen i might not get it right. It's sunday was some episode is some episodes ramli. I'm not feeling that not doesn't it doesn't speak to me but then again it might not because why would it. I'm a because. I'm not a anime head. Not watching. Every new a have watched evolved animals. A lot of that is because of my brother. Giants a Who was is assigned. Was i ease into stuff. Loads and loads and loads. While i can't even list half of them might ask generous. Lot of them can't even name. Yes oh listen. May i think the for me. This is actually gonna be quite autistic. I think there's going to be bits of it where i go. Oh that's a bit different were. i also think there's gonna be bits where i'm like. May we need that in live action or we need some about in canon and that's the arayni of all of this and is an. You've kind of. I'm really glad you mentioned earlier. Because you can't oppressed on. Appoint the i was thinking earlier. And that's why. I was to invite canon of the star of the show. Stop the mine discussion. Because what if something is so amazing in this that you like may i sick i see clearly now in adam lanes. Engines is done. And i'll be like listen. That's so good there. That's sorry. that's good sir. Good so good. The we need to have something like that in live action. That's the future of star wars. We need something like that source material. That's why i think the potential of this show could be sky high and to be honest even just as a standalone project Just to have this option on that sweet. Soit star wars section on disney plus. It's a win mate. Is something different something new. It's not simul simul stall atomization. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that. But in a world where people off guidance wade stall killer gun around and you know bringing down the road and bringing down stocks lights mike series about it. Listen maybe that's not for me. "Thought you know at the beginning of summer league. I said that second year guys the guys that we didn't see summer league last year was very impressed by them. And i do think that for anybody that watched summer league. The league is a very good shape in terms of an infusion of young talent. Because i said one of the things i think we'll see is that second year group of players. The ones that many you know derided and said it can't even come up with a rookie team. You know for this right. You had great seasons from lamelo. You had great seasons from anthony edwards but like there just wasn't a ton of Meg impressive rookies that that group because of the circumstances of last year and how difficult it was to enter the nba that that group might take a collective leap much greater than ones that we have seen before. I mean that's that is that is the sentiment That i felt coming out of that some early. Because so many of those guys were just so much better and i get it it similarly but some early in many cases I point to many times where we've seen guys we've talked about guys on this show and then it did pan out exactly we. Oh that was a sign of what was to come most famously. We i remember the show. We did in vegas and we gushed about what we had. Just seen from donovan mitchell. How'd that turn out your main donovan. Mitchell was not thought of in that class as somebody that was going to be special in the same way that many of the high draft picks were and he turned out to be. I mean even even era you can think of guys good. I wrote an article like donovan. Mitchell as the you know could be a combo. Guard can be the steal of the draft. And i never expected him to turn the player that he has no. I thought he might be a steal. I thought i may be a really good player. I think he could be facing your franchise. Speaking of the game. I remember this to this day. I mean i'll never forget this game. 'cause it was in the big arena thomas and mack. I watched him play a game. He scored over thirty points. He had ten steals in the game. And i remember coming on the air. I say it's like you took five time. Nba all star in through the summer league game. He just murdered everybody. Who's the craziest thing. I ever saw my life while that. That article headlined for us with a donovan. Mitchell is a point guard prospect of these strange nba times. I think that's why a danny child headline and it started out. Perfect shot out the nhl. Yeah i mean he's he has turned her. I mean he's shown it on defense. Sometimes he's add up and down. He's carrying the offense But offensively even at some really we. We did gush about him. Like you said i don't think he could have seen it then. We couldn't draft simul lake but now received not fifty points in play not to reach the level that he has. And that's that's what's so interesting about some of these guys we're talking about whether it's you know a ford like a jalen johnson..

"And welcome. This is supposed to listen painter. Daily insight and this is the way team bay to yesterday. We started a topic. Or greeting. And i say that in the process of making progress. These do not happen. It's fast as we would expect them. There is that moments of waiting in we need the grease tweet in reseda. Yesterday that david was in such a place where waiting seemed impossible but he waited anyway because he knew that he was waiting for a god who never disappoints. God had his cry. He rescued him from pete. That was full of mud in cle- and he lifted him from that pete inset his feet on solid ground put a song of praise in his mouth and it became a testimony and encouragement for you in me to date and today i want to it somebody else who was in a position to wait but he failed in the testing boy team from the book of fast. Some will that team from bus seven to fourteen. This is the story of king saul. The bible says from seven some of them crossed the jordan river in this caped into the land of god in gilead meanwhile sole stayed at gilgal and his men what trembling with fear soul waited there seven days for someone as someone had instructed him ali. But someone didn't come so this was a time that soul in his troops faced by the enemy. They defeated times. What much chain in. They were ready to attack the israelites. In he is sold with his men. The at trembling in fear in the prophet had told soul. You wait for me for seven days. I will shore poudel. Come and i'm going to raise them out. I am going to dedicate you unto the lord before you go for battle because if you read the bible in the book of odd tournament the laws which are called the laws of warfare and what is expected of the profits and the priest. They're supposed to pray for the ami's for the for the for the horse before they go for battle and so we find that soul stayed at gilgal and his men are trembling with fear and they waited there for seven days but some well did not come soul realize that his troops were rapidly. Sleeping away in. In that moment of danger in that moment of despair he demanded in he say. Bring me the but offering and the peace offering remember. His office is the kingly office he is not a priest. He is not a prophet. He is not supposed to be the one offering the band of rain. He is not a one off the peace offering but because he is failing at these moments of waiting and he is feeling. I need to do something. I need to be in control. He says he demands. Bring me the back offering. Bring me the peace offering and the bible says and soul sacrifice the but offering himself and listen to the sad part just a soul was finishing the bunt offering somewhat arrived just as he was finishing somewhat arrived. Sola went out to meet and welcome him. But some assayed what is this you have done saul replied. I sold my men's guttering from me and you didn't arrive when you say you would. And the philistines are at mc mush ready for battle. So i say the philistines are ready to much. Guinness does at gilgal. And haven't even asked for the lord's help. So i felt compelled to offer the band offering myself before you came and some will say how foolish simul exclaimed. You have not kept the command. The lord your god gave you. Had you kept it. The lord would have established your kingdom of israel forever but now your kingdom must end for the lord has sought out a man after his own heart. The lord has already appointed him to be the leader of his people. Because you have not kept the lord's comment what a pd. What a sad story. Just because sao saw was not able to wait just a little longer immediately after he finished offering the bat offering immediately after he has just messed up. Someone appeared in the seoul with his excuses. How many times have we given the law excuses. Why we did wait. The couldn't wait any longer. Listen to his excuses hussein. The philistines are ready to much against as we know. The adjusts closed their ready. The at mcmaster ready for battle. We haven't even asked the lord for help. You know that the agency to act is the need to be in control issues that we cannot let god be in control. We want to do it at our own time line. That is why we can't wait. This is what is displayed by. This foolishness that social does by doing the jute that not his. His office was the office of king but he performs the duties about priest. He offers the but offering he offers the peace offerings yet. That is not what he was supposed to do. Middle-order helpers and just like i say. das today may you receive the gris to wait in the pursuit of making progress. Receive the gresh to wait. We don't wanna have regrets that to missed it like soul. it was just. He had waited seven days. What was just a little longer. What was just a few more hours in those few more hours cost him. His kingdom menu received the grist to wait a little longer haul dawn a little longer. Don't mess up your destiny just because you can't wait a little longer. Don't give me an excuse that you know what i want to get married so i can continue weighed in. I have to get get a spouse whichever way you don't we give all this as cues why we can't wait a little longer but this morning i want to encourage you. My listener received the grace to wait. Wait a little longer. wait a little longer. Don't mess it up. wait a little longer. We can trust god. He never fails. he never fails. Let's trust his timeline. His timing in the timing and more the same but when he does it the bible says he makes everything beautiful in its time. Shalom this pasta. "This schmear young. And i'm joined by my co host. Who's dealing with the frigid. Fifty degree weather in florida right now. Skip cohen own. Showing you get not. I mean it's hysterical. Because it's the way we dress down here like today. I've got on shorts flip flops and a flannel shirt that makes no sense and if the fashion police came by most of us would be arrested. So that is. Let's get into today's program because you end. Our guest are both hanging out in a very cold place in the country right now when it's perfectly appropriate to do a hot podcast. How's that that sounds great because it is twelve degrees right now. Right things that. I'll i'll do my best not complain about having to put the top up. Okay hey seriously. Riley joins us today and she is a testimonial to a combination of the grapevine and social media. And here's the fun aspect of how i got to know riley. A good buddy of mine in boston sent me an. I am and a link to her work and said hey you need to go talk to her so a phone call later. That opened the door to this michigan based documentary photographer. She's an art director. She's an accomplished author. She's a big believer especially in themed projects like her diners of new york. Which is a a personal favourite of hers. And i happen to love the just to if you've lived in the new jersey new york area. Then you know that diners are just an incredible Concept she's a national geographic explorer. She's a fulbright fellow and her work has been published in numerous magazines and is in the permanent collections of seven. Different museums nine. Oh there's probably nothing. Riley can't photograph but as a journalist. What i love most about her work is. it's just about the simplicity of life And sometimes obviously more complex than a complex and less simple in any event riley. If i haven't screwed up something in technology here welcome to the mind. Your own business podcast. Thanks for having me well. It's good to have you here and i really am. I'm outnumbered today. Because i'm always complaining about the weather or or making shamir aware that she's in the coldest place in the country right now and now. The two of you can share that misery law like complaint. It's nice to have some company. Let me tell you and and riley. I'm so excited to chat with you because it sounds like you've had a very interesting journey. And we were kind of chatting in the pre interview chat and it was interesting to learn that you are not originally from michigan. But from the lemme say this right. American samoa correct yes. Correct soren and raised. That's somehow you ended up here in michigan. Where we're just happy to be in the double digits today and so kind of. Let's kick things off by having you kind of tell us about your background. how you ended up doing what you're doing today and just how you got here well since you mentioned where i was Warren raised american saw. I think that would be a great place to start off so you guys might know. American simul from a number of things like you know american football players to you know a variety of other cultural touch points. But you know the first person to make american samoa on the mainstream was the anthropologist margaret mead and some of her photographs and writings about american samoa. so you know and Independent som- so you know. When i was young american sama as i told you earlier is the third wettest is place in the world gets a tremendous amount of rain and one of the things that happens is that mold grows on just about anything including photographs and vhs tapes. You know back when there while people are using those so we had a you know a a system where we would take photographs When our film was ready would send it off to get you know in the mail to get back in the day and we get our photographs back. My mom would fill a photo album and then she sent it off to our grandparents the store because if we kept them on island they would mold in a number of years. We'd have no relics of our family. History so i became kind of fascinated by sort of documenting a place in time and the fact that where we were from. We couldn't really keep our photographs if we wanted them to actually survive more than say three years so that sort of drive to document is really becoming a leading charge in fascination with documenting things and being sort of for that picks niche interests. That might be sort of going away. So that's sort of a long answer to your question How i got started in my career was. I had my senior thesis in my undergraduate degree. I interned at the oregon shakespeare festival as a theatre photographer

"The point is to get back to your question when we read stories like this light like anti a hidden read other stories about people coming up school. Sometimes they can take us out of our ourselves and give us ideas for how to make changes in our own life is we gotta make changes now if nothing changes nothing changes if we keep doing the same old thing. We keep getting the same old thing. It's a wonderful discussion to have 'cause we can get into how the human mind is designed to keep us comfortable to keep us safe but not to make us happy. Which you i would imagine you know far more than than i do about this subject we can get into the psychology of change. We can get into the psychology of thought patterns but are really for me. What's best is just to remember. My time on this earth is limited and someday i will look back. And someday i believe i'll go on to note stage of the journey and current eventuality. Yeah that's fascinating. Isn't it the some talking with the guest. it was Dr frank kushner on a recent podcast and it goes one or two episodes ago that And he said change is inevitable but progresses not and it's fascinating that sometimes with violence a change and yet changes happening all the time. I mean as i speak and i get excited. My state is changing as i get excited. My heart rate increases. So that's a change. That's all happening unconscious. As i walk fast down the street my breathing increases so i get more oxygen to my muscles all of these things. The body is a change machine and yet the the minds or out You know kind of thinking is is. Let's get into the comfort zone. And let's just relax into the simul roy of doing things and yet the body is actually a change. Mcshane a love. That i love that changes inevitable. Progress is not even in my book. Write about how addiction to drugs is a condition of comfort oftentimes. Because we're a when. I was deep in my diction miserable. I desperately unhappy when the fbi wrote police officers. Were coming to kick down my door. And i was cowering on my couch with my twelve gauge shotgun resting on my chest and cold. Steel barrel pressed against me. Because i was waiting for Fbi or by gangs kick down my door. I mean this was all part of my delusions. My mess assist these. Things weren't really happening out there. I believe that point is is miserable. In those circumstances when the disembodied voices it sounded like my parents were insulting and mocking the through. The walls of i was miserable. But i was comfortable. I know that the next day. I could make it through those same circumstances i knew i can live in exists from one day to the next in this extreme state of psychosis in addiction to drugs. I was comfortable. Because i done it so many days in the past. I've been doing it for fifteen or more years at that point yet to change on going back to our conversation on james changed to put aside the glass plate for me to attempt to pursue my dream writing a book. I had no idea where that weight that extreme discomfort not knowing where the change would lead to. That was what kept me were there other fact factor suber that was when kennedy addiction conditioned comfort. Comfort does not will happiness as human beings. We are programmed to be comfortable much more so than with program to be happy. You know going back to prehistoric times the person who was afraid to leave the.

Finding Self-Empowerment When You Feel Powerless

"Hello I'm punctual and this is now for tomorrow. Collection of actions you can do now. During the SIMUL disruption and crisis to make tomorrow better. Today I want you to do a simple exercise to bring out to the personal power that lies concealed inside you. We think of power as a matter of struggle competition and overcoming obstacles. But? There's a deeper power in just the opposite. Not Struggling. So Hug. And attuning yourself to the floor. But the flow what? You can let events passively unfold all around you. But that's not what flow meets. Flow much closer to freedom. In, the floor you are present to the here, and now you feel eager to see what happens next. You can taste the new possibilities that want to wake up in your life. What I've outlined is known as a beak experience and we've all had at least a glimpse of what? So here's your assignment for today. I want you to take out a pen and piece of paper. And close, your eyes for a moment. Jake yourself back to something. Wonderful. That has left a lasting impression. It can be a moment of victory and triumph. The breathtaking sunset over the ocean. The Vista from a mountain peak. Experience of deep love. Once, you had the imaging in mind focus on the bliss and the joy that you fact. Now I want you to pause for a moment. What your recapturing is a beak experience and the expansion it brings. What has expanded is your consciousness. You feed open safe. Optimistic. Fully. Present. And relishing the enjoyment of simply being yourself. This expanded state is true power. Life is going to you without struggle effort or resistance. Now I'd like you to write a one sentence description of that moment on the piece of paper. You could write. My last birthday. Or the walk on the beach during. Or a special dinner with people you care about Write it down. Then for the paper and put it in your bucket. As today goes on. And if you're feeling powerless stop what you're doing and pull out the paper. Goes your is. Imagine that moment again and recaptured that experience. That feeling. That power. I realized that turning inward to your direct experience isn't how we were taught by society to define power. Is said the whole set of external standards was set up? You are powerful if you make other people do what you want instead of the other way around. Your baffled if you had the money to buy anything your heart desires. Your powerful if you come out on top in the struggle to get ahead. Once you accepted that scheme you quickly find that life rewards a small handful of winners only. Everyone else is powerless. Now, you have the opportunity to reframe your situation by no longer thinking in those terms. which were voice it on you second secondhand. The secret is to exchange external power was self embarrassment. Suggested the first step. which is to revisit your peak experiences. which you can do anytime. This isn't nostalgia. You. Are Remembering the state of expanded awareness and in that remembering your awareness expense again. Right this moment. I. Realized that this sounds like nothing to society labels as powerful. But Society doesn't have of course. You do. And once you attune yourself to it. Over time. Flow becomes your default approach to life. In the world's wisdom traditions, it is thought that consciousness is the source of all things we desire out of life. A new. IDEA. A New Opportunity If fresh feeling of love or joy. If you can rest securely in your core south. Letting those things come to you as naturally as breathing. You have discovered the kind of self embalmment most people can only dream about. Your homework from today's episode is your key to recapturing that feeling. Carry it with you and feel it empowering.

In a world where more business owners, execs and entrepreneurs a struggling to keep it together due to the pressures around them. I wanted to create an experience that sets out to answer one question. How can I inspire you to be healthier? Happier and connect at a deeper level in relationships I'm Ho- Simul, level and welcome to unshakable leaders. Hey so I was questioning whether to do this episode or not. And then something happened this morning of course that prompted me to record the episode and I was actually looking back to the house, and there was a young girl, and she was crying and she was. All the going through anxiety and I look down at the floor, and there was glass on the floor, and it turns out that someone had stolen her backpack smashed windows, backpack and and. I said to a year okay, and she said yes. Thank you on the phone thing to a dad and I walked back to the house, and something called me to go back and I grabbed a dustpan and brush. Can I just really wanted to be with her. Up, until the police arrived and refrain the situation for her I asked the debris to call myself down, and as she started to get it up and vent and express yourself you could see. She started to relax and sometimes right. We just need someone to listen to us. Sometimes we just need someone to be there and you know these situations often happen where they come out of the blue. Normally. We're finding MECOM and she seemed like a really. Heart based soulful young lady, and then this random thing happened in center in a tailspin and Sunday. She's anxious and she cheat didn't know what to do with it. And so this is what happens when you're working with clients, and sometimes they attack they blow up, and first of all I want to say that this is not just clients right? We do this to why, because we're emotional beings, and might intention of this episode is to give you tools to handle situations calmly and differently, and you may be in one of two camps. Camp a may be something has happened to you in the past, and because of that event with that client. Now you're not moving your business forward. Level that you could now I can tell you from personal experience. This has happened to me. I thought situations in the past where I wasn't emotionally strong. I looked at it in a certain way to situation, and it was devastating to me and I'm really impacted my business moving forward right certain people's actions despite me. Me Wanting to help them, and and so you may be in that cab. You also may be in another group, which is you're growing your business? And maybe you've dealt with a couple of situations, and you WanNa know why they happened how you could deal with them differently, and as you're growing, more situations are gonna come up now in the previous episode of the show where I talk about conscious enrollment. With travel bicycling orbits stopping within a wake over here in the US it really just. Kinda pull the rug out from under old trips. We had for the rest of the planned. Will avail earn travel plans and pretty much just stopped on so all the troops, all the brands in the companies and destinations that we had planned to work with new coming six months old had to postpone those trips over the other hotness ships and stuff like that we had organized as well just as budgets became todor in trouble became a non everything just pigeonholed hold, and it's pretty much where we are at the moment, just whiting in Limburg for the travel industry to kick back up again, Gills thinking of. Other things to do outside. If this travel travel blog, or are you literally just waiting things to stop back up against? They can resume knife. Resumed life as normal. Yeah, we, we've always got. Something was working on something on the side We've been putting a lot more. Trouble podcasts, which has been good, because it's allowed us to continue talking about trouble in staying in trouble spice without having to physically travel, so that's been handy and we've got a couple of other business ideas. It will always floating around, but it's I. Guess Everything in general is a little bit uncertain at the moment. I'm kind of jealous of you podcast. Eighties cold, not so bomb voyage. It's all about the stuff that goes wrong on the rights. Then we've done a couple of episodes. We've shared stories of things that have gone wrong on the right, but as Jill said you. Focus your attention on your on your podcast until those stories. Where do they come from? So we tell stories that we find from France from other travel bloggers from stories from the news, all sorts of stories, books and movies, but all true stories of when things go wrong while traveling which we find to be, they make the best stories right. You don't come home and tell all your friends and family about the time that everything perfectly. When you're out traveling the world, you tell them about the time that your bus broke down or you had your cameras stolen or something crazy happened. Those always make the best stories, and we found that there with social media and instagram and everything. There was this skew trend towards the glamorous side of travel where everything is picture perfect and you're on a gorgeous beach. No one else is there and everything. It just looks wonderful, but everyone who's traveled knows that there's the other side of that where it's. You're hiking down to this beach in your sweaty and there's probably a million people there and somebody's trying to. To sell you, you know like that's just the real side of traveling, so we wanted to bring that the forefront and just chat with people about that and tell stories of when things go wrong in the road, because that's more interesting in our opinion,

"Is not the reality that I'm reading in the New Testament. And how would you to reply to such accusations? That was a real question. Go ahead I mean I I think Jimmy being deferential to each other so we much obviously sure so the same apostle who wrote seconds five seventeen. Romans seven right so what we're trying to do is hold these things inappropriate tension and have a theology that incorporates all of of the Bible but even even all of the Apostle Paul Theology and it is entirely right and true that in Christ Jesus we are a new creation we have been regenerated by the spirit of God we have been circumcised not by circumcision. That is made with hands or done in the flesh but we have been circumcised of heart with the circumcision of Christ. You know and so we have been raised to walk in newness of life and to walk in the good works that have been prepared beforehand for us to do all of those things are entirely true and there will be this transformation of life that we've already alluded to multiple times. There will be change. We will look at ourselves. John you described your own life. I'm different than I was twenty years ago. I mean brother it so am I my goodness myself as you know in my my seventeen eighteen year old me versus me now. In my later thirties. There is a world of difference. There's a world of difference from ten years ago so we I am in no way saying. Don't don't Pan back and look at your life and praise God for what he's done. Of course we do and at the same time. We acknowledged that we are not yet fully sanctified we are not yet glorified we will know complete victory over sin and we will know only righteousness in our experience at the resurrection. But not until them right. And so that's what we're trying to say in Paul is crystal-clear Jim. You mentioned Romans. Seven rooms eight. I mean even if we think Romans six we think about our new identity in Romans Sas our new war in Romans seven our new hope and Romans eight right and so. That's the the world that we live in and that's all we're trying to point out here. Is that so often the focus? We're just trying to press back biblically with a more. We think balanced there. Is there use at word balanced approach to say look? We can't just talk about transformation. We can't just talk about victory. We can't just talk about overcoming. Can't just talk about the new nature. We've got to acknowledge that that like you said Jimmy Simul the symbol simultaneous reality of new nature. Saint Right old man. We we are not resurrected fully sanctified yet. Those are both characteristic of our reality right. So we're excited to announce that we have a new free. E Book available at our website called faith versus faithfulness a primer on rest and we the hosts put this together to explain the difference between emphasizing one's faith in Christ versus emphasizing ones faithfulness..

How To Promote Your Spa Business During This COVID-19 Crisis

"Lot of people have been asking. How can I promote my business during this cove in Nineteen Corona virus outbreak? Because people are being told to stay away from close contact with others and in the SPA. You're in close contact with others and there's so much noise around this corona virus that people don't quite know what they should and shouldn't be doing now. The one thing that is universally accepted as a way to help prevent you getting this. Corona virus is to have a strong immune system. And that's where spouse can actually offer something. One of the best ways to have a healthy immune system is to get a good night's sleep. Can we help enhance a good night's sleep? Of course we can so can hotels for that matter. There's also a number of foods that are known to be to be helpful in boosting your immune system enhancing your immune system things like garlic and ginger and Broccoli almonds even yoga now we can offer juices and beverages and snacks that have some of these elements in them and we can promote the immune system boosting properties. All those particular ingredients. Now please please please please. Please do not make a claim that you cannot substantiate. Do not say this is going to stop you. Getting the Corona Virus Simul sleep. Get a good night's sleep. Stop the Corona Vars. That's not necessarily the truth so you don't want to be saying it but it's going to help and so I also think you don't WanNa be talking about directly the corona virus if people are coming into your hotel in your spa. They already a little bit worried about. I wouldn't be talking it up even more. I would be making subtle references to the immune boosting properties of whatever you're offering whether it's good night's sleep whether it's your juices whether it's you'll snacks. Let them make the connection. I wouldn't make the connection yourself because then I think you run the risk of of the perception that you're suggesting that this is a cure way to prevent it which is not but it is a way you can help people maybe maybe have a certain level of comfort that they kind of doing all they can do so. That's just an idea for how I think. A SPA Business and hotel business for that matter and frankly any business you're in you could offer people snacks beverages in your business when people come in and say that this will help boost your immune system or the immune boosting properties. All those ingredients again. I'm stressing you've got to be really careful about what you climb. Make sure that what? You're claiming is backed up by some research. Do not make any crazy claims. Just try and subtly talk about how you can help. People enhance their health and well being in general. That's the best way actually to fight this corona virus for the most of us

"This is the country I've served served and defended That all my brothers have served and here right matters. That was lieutenant. Colonel Alexander Van Minh testifying the president's impeachment hearing about the difference between his father Soviet Union and American democracy on Friday vin. Men was fired along with his twin brother and another key impeachment witness ambassador to the EU. Gordon Simul let's discuss Senator Santorum let me start with you. Some Republican senators were urging the president not to fire John Lennon addition. Susan Collins of Maine said that doesn't favor any retaliation but we're clearly seeing some retaliation. We'll look the person has a right to have people around him that are. He's comfortable with and support deportment. Obviously these people have done things to lose the president's faith in them. The person has the right to do these things. Where should I shouldn't have done? That's a question I yes I certainly as a president wouldn't want people around me who don't support what I'm trying to accomplish. And it seems like tickly in the case of Vincent that's the case you know the level of meltdown by Democrats over this. If if Barack Obama had someone in his White House who is leaking to undermine him you and I both know the media would be defending the ouster of this person and before you say will break. Obama would've never done anything like this. Let let let's remember that. The Internal Revenue Service under Barack Obama investigated and targeted conservative tea party groups in the two thousand ten eleven and twelve and stalled getting their five. Oh One C. three status or their Five Oh one C.. Four status. Because They Lois Lerner and others within the IRS believed that they would undermine the president or they would attack the president they would go after the president you have an inspector general saying that the IRS Members of the IRS knowingly ignored the rules of the IRS to engage in partisan retaliation against these groups can you imagine if there was a leaker at the IRS. The media would be encouraging. Barack Obama. Fire that person. The problem boom here is the moral relativism of osage. You know eight. I continue to believe Donald Trump should have never had that phone call The way he had it with Ukraine's president it was bad. Had he not had addity. Would've gotten impeach you know in the same way just exercise a little bit of self control and not fire James Comey. He would've never had the Mueller investigation. Now that being said it's pretty clear that called me was a hack back in should have been fired You Know Hillary Clinton had fire James Comey though the media would have said it was deserved if she were president. And that's part of the problem here. There's a moral relativism. I'm on both sides. Where if our side does it it's virtuous at the other side does it? It's a sin as opposed to saying this is right and this is wrong and if it's right for one side is right for the other side and if it's wrong for once is wrong for the other side but we're not allowed to go there anymore. God help us. We're not allowed to go there. A now you've got the Democrats falling over verbatim selves to say that Donald Trump is a king. He's a dictator at. Its will never be able to remove. I gotta ask just as an aside. How many Democrats crats are going to get to November in? Say Well Guess. I'm not going to go vote. He's a dictator. They told me he's as a king. Now I can't get him out of the office so why bother to go. I mean I. I don't think it's going to be significant numbers but I do wonder to some some degree particularly with the Democratic Milton. Oh we will get to the Democrat. Meltdown that's happening right now over the field my goodness they are in absolute panic mood after the good week. The president had last tweet but no seriously how many people are going to decide that. Oh my goodness gracious This man's dictator now. We're never going to be able to remove off as just throw their hands up in get out of politics. It makes you wonder. Hey listen. I don't think it's going to be a significant number but when you have mainstream in stream media talking heads saying this man is a dictator now. There's nothing we can do. Some people are GONNA lose hope other people. Of course you're going to get violent a a little in Florida in Jacksonville Florida. A blonde haired Blue Eyed Neo Nazi type. Well it would be if he was doing this to Democrats but because he's doing it to Republicans. No no ran a van through a Republican voter registration to if this was just just just. Let's play hypotheticals. Hypothetically Stacey Abrams fair fight does a voter registration. Drive and a blonde blonde haired blue eyed dude in a van runs through the tent. where the doing the voter registration drive? What do you think the media reaction would be how? How many days of coverage would it get but it was a progressive activist who did it to Republicans lukens? So we're not getting a ton of media coverage are we know we're not and we're not because there is is a partisan indifference to these sorts of stories and that partisan difference comes from the fact that they are hypocritical and they give sympathy to the left and they ignore facts. That might embolden people on the right. There is a moral relativism visited both sides. I mean let's be honest. The let's let's flip this over on the other side. If Barack Obama had made a phone call to to Ukraine's president and said investigate Ivanka trump and donald trump. You who are listening right now nodding along with me would be beside yourself with rage and what the president impeached. That's just the reality of it. Each side believes its own side virtuous and the other side vein at fault. But that's not the situation we're dealing clean with right now we we can do all the what about scenarios we need to. That's not the situation we're dealing with right now. We're dealing with the situation of this president and I have said repeatedly he shouldn't should have done that phone call. I don't think it was impeachable but I do think it was wrong and I wouldn't think it was impeachable of Barack. Obama did it but I would continue to think it was wrong but just by virtue of saying it's wrong there will be rally the flag contenders for this president. Who will be outraged with me for saying saying that that it was wrong? He shouldn't have done it And in there will be democratic partisans outraged that I don't think it's impeachable but if the shoe were on the other foot and I said it was wrong. A lot of the Republicans upset with me. I was wrong for the president to do. It would be cheering me on. I said it was wrong for Obama to do it but but excoriating me for not impeachable. We're in an age of more relativism. And there's a lot of nonsense out there in the media of course is so biased in has no sense of history that in your savings. I am old enough to remember Barack Obama telling supporters to take guns tonight fights and the media was comfortable with his rhetoric. I am old old enough to remember. Joe Biden telling black voters that Mitt Romney would put them back in chains in the media. Turn a blind eye. I am old enough to remember. knbr Barack Obama telling Hispanic voters that Republicans were their enemies in the media. Said nothing. I am old enough to remember Barack Doc Obama lying and telling people what they like their doctor they could keep their doctor. And the media defended Him and assailed Sarah Palin for saying it was ally and even politic fact came out and said he was telling the truth and then had his eight with the lie of the year. oops my bad got it wrong. We made the mistake of believing him. The media gave him a pass. I am old enough to remember the Obama Administration Giving guns to Mexicans and fast and furious and getting an American border patrol agent killed. And I'm old enough to remember the Obama administrations. IRS investing in Harassing Tea Party groups. The media turned a blind eye. All of this they gave a pass to all of it and now suddenly they think that Donald Trump is uniquely Khloe. Bad uniquely terrible. His voters are uniquely violent in his rhetoric is uniquely violent because they were sleep for eight years is the only thing I can imagine. It does this so much of the anger and rage about Donald trump firing Alexandrovich Edmund. You and I both know darn well that. If Brock Obama had done that the the media would be given an investment. And that's why I carriage by I don't blame the president for wanting to reassign people he didn't fire him. They reassigned him out of the White House. And I don't blame them for doing so. It is clear that this administration uniquely if there's one unique thing about it has a bunch of holdovers from the Obama Administration careerists who are partisan to lean to the left who hate this president. And what undermining. And he has the right to clean the White House of these people and move them to other places uses and the fact that the media is upset about it is really the media is upset because their sources the leakers are being reassigned..

All About the New iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max

"So apple. had their vent nothing really surprising on on Tuesday you probably already saw on the news. They announced adds three new iphones. Thank goodness it. Got Rid of the Roman numerals remember a couple of weeks ago at a high school kid called. Can you help me tell my friends. It's not the IPHONE X. It's it's the IPHONE Tan but apple makes you know confusing. You don't want you didn't watch the TV show the ten files. It's no you watch the X. Files so Roman numerals. I thank goodness didn't do X. Y. The IPHONE X. The iphone eleven and interesting I think in a concession to the fact that people are starting to resist spending so so much money on phones the first phone they announced his just the plain old. Excuse me iphone eleven. They spent a lot of time on the plain old iphone eleven they didn't they didn't they didn't even pretend there was another one they just like. This is the IPHONE iphone eleven and they announced a price. Get fifty dollars price cuts so it starts at six ninety nine which is fifty bucks less than the IPHONE Tanwar last year. It's the successor to the ten by the way that's that's what it is. It's the next ten are so you know and it's very much like the ten are I don't know what to say about fifty bucks last. I think many people most people will probably want to buy that one. That'll be that'll be the iphone phone of choice for most people's gifts given the price and remember every price is start set because then you can I don't remember what the memory configurations where I should go check the apple store but I think that now they do a sixty four and a one twenty eight and a two fifty six in some cases and if you get the high end on yes because there is as another iphone the eleven pro oh an eleven pro Max and the Max and the pro Oh go Max primax when the pro go to five hundred twelve but the iphone eleven I think is that's I think that's the one and if you have a trade in which many people will you might even get it for as little as four hundred bucks so pre orders are open now how you can go into the store and probably get it without too much trouble on Friday week from yesterday Friday the twenty s. I think it's a very nice phone. It has two lenses like its predecessor. The IPHONE X. are so there's zoom. I'm in Canada. They call it wide ultra-wide. That's fair. Why didn't ultra-wide and you know I think apple really cares a lot? What about the cameras number of people pointed out? This is always the case when apple announces new stuff. Oh android had it. I yes okay. It's true true but I don't think I phone people. Use The iphone really care who had it. I what is that matter. That's that's irrelevant. like if you were the F- you know if you were you were the first human to get up on two legs and walk across the Room mm-hmm and somebody said well I. There's a guy down in the Kalahari. He's did it. I so what I did it. I just did it so what apple now has three lenses houses on the iphone pro eleven pro. It's GonNa take me a while to get used to this. Oh here's a good one. They also updated the apple. Watch very a minor update except for one thing the new watch series five apple has come up with a Screen Technology Lt Peo- that allows the computer in the watch to slow the screen refresh rate down to his as small as one refresh per second and what that means takes very little power to update the screen wants a second instead of sixty or thirty times a second as you know one thirtieth power that means finally the Apple Watch can be used as a watch it will have what they call it always on display in other words. You won't have to flip flip it to see what time it is you could just look at it or even as they showed and videos even they acknowledged this. Look at it as a corner your eye because it's rude isn't it you sit and you're talking to somebody you raise your wrist and you flip it like you can't even just glance at you. Flip it to get the watch to Wake Cup and it doesn't you have to tap it and people you know this is become the the rude Apple Watch move so now the Apple Watch you can just you can you could be doing pushups and count look at the coroner I I'm. I'm walking out of the corner of my I like that well you know since the very first watches you've been able to do that. Leo Apple did not invent that no they it didn't and in fact even android wear watches their competitive competition and Fitbit's and other smart watches have managed this feat but apple finally figured out how to do it without reducing its battery life so good good. That's good well. You know android headed. I write they did the other thing apple's doing now which is good these little things that apple could years ago you can go to the online store and Mac mix and match bands. You don't have to just take default band which was in every case a rubber. I'm sorry flora less dimmer band rubber band cheapie that you would immediately by another band you now you can buy it with the band you want auto. Wow what an innovation see. I don't think apple would get so much heat if their invitation to the event hadn't said by innovation. Only they like. We're the kings of innovation except well android did it I I I ordered an iphone. Eleven pro axe sure I did 'cause I wanna you know I'm F- I think the cameras look really good. They do one thing that I haven't seen any other phone. Do and apple doesn't even do it with their own camera APP. As far as I can tell apple actually had to show a third party APP called film IC that you use and it's not you know it's not free fifteen bucks and then you might have to spend an extra fifteen or more to get this feature but at looked really cool. I don't know I no one has has done this yet. All phones now have two cameras facing out and fan cameras facing in you though Selfie Cam and with film you can record simultaneously with both of them in fact you can record with the Wide Angle Lens in the close up you can record with at least two and maybe more I don't know this is because apple's processor and memory so fast apple's finally using high speed memory in its phones for storage so it can record to two video stream simul high quality. I think we'll see we'll find out Friday how high quality but if they're you know even. HD quality at the same time that's great why you say. Would anyone want that well. If you're GONNA add it like the idea that you can have a wide angle shot of of your daughter daughters play but you could also at the same time be filming a close up of her lines and then as you edit you go back and forth and your and that's normally you need to cameras to do that so that's really cool. You don't have to ask your husband too. Can you do the close up and I'll do the wide honey does does anybody do that. I don't know maybe not so that's nice. They also invented something. There is innovation. Wait a minute. What am I thinking? Apple has invented. I did get ready for this. Hold onto your seats. Are you sitting down the slow fee what these slow motion Selfie so get ready instagram all the influencers. They're all going to be doing when their hair blowing in the wind and slow motion the slow motion selfish hear Woo Hoo. It's about time. How do we ever live without added so there you go? There's something apple's doing. There's two things apple's doing that. I don't think any other phone can do the slow motion Selfie okay that's good and recording from two lenses simultaneously. That's kind of interesting like like that
