"Can we get back. I'm a translator. And i speak decent japanese but the culture barrier is still pretty huge for me when people ask why. Okay there we go. I say that. I love japanese people and i love living here but i wouldn't ever wanna become japanese. Generally speaking they're overworked and unhappy. For better or worse. my attitude keeps me is elated. yeah. I've seen that stuff over like as far as what i've seen You know the propaganda. From what i've seen. I saw on sixty minutes. That if you you fuck up at your job sending some camp and then you have to sing the company song. These guys was singing the song trying to get back in the company. They'll like cry in everything and it's like four japanese dudes just looking at them just ice cold. Simon cowles to the fucking nine thousand power. Like your family disowned you. it's crazy. it's hard core over them. Straightening the damn rivers. There is one very japanese woman. What does that mean. i've met. Who recently connected with in spite of all that. She's an amateur artists. An actress and we've worked together to make subtitles for local independent movies. That's how we met. Actually she's interesting as hell and downright sexy to problem. She's married and has his son. Dude what the fuck are you trying to get a fucking samurai sword to your jugular. You gonna fuck a married broad with a kid in a different country do it. I don't know anything about the japanese culture but if you can lose face for not having enough paper clips you'd goddamn desk and get sent to a borderline death camp and you've got a sing a fucking song to get back into the company. How much face you lose if round. I fucks you fucking woman. Dude you're gonna you're gonna get thrown into one of their straighten rivers. I come on man. come on man. don't do this. He said from early on it was obvious that there was a mutual attraction. Going on especially whenever we were at a movie party with a couple of drinks and us like any guy would. I wanted to sleep with her. But i didn't dwell on it good for you. It seemed it never seemed like it was in the cards but we were working together. We kept each other at all when we work together. We kept each other at arm's length. Months went by without anything changing. Oh my god dude. This is like watching. This is like a suspense thriller. You can't do. This is a kid involved. That kid loves his mom and his dad. You're going to go in there and your dick like a samurai sword gonna slice that kid's life half. You can't do it. I'm gonna read the rest of this one. I closed then came the local film festival. Oh jeez when it finished we were downtown and pleasantly drunk and the last trains. That run every night were long gone. Well isn't that convenient when she mentioned taking an expensive cab ride home. I suggested that she crashed at my nearby apartment until the morning train started you. Didn't you didn't suggest that you dick did you. Decks like relax stand-down. I've got this anyways. She had been there a dozen times already. Because that's where we always worked. Oh my god dude. This is like some red shoe diary going on here. I'll cut to the chase in my apartment that night. She turned to me and asked pointblank. If i wanted to fuck while at point. I think all bets are off. Okay because i thought you were kinda seduce in this girl. Now she just like jesus or maybe i should have wow. I didn't see that coming. Anyways he goes. And i told her no. Okay he goes. I wasn't exactly surprised that she asked pardon. Me was hoping she would when she did though. All i could do was go through what i felt right at that moment. I admit i really didn't know what to do and was playing it safe. We went to sleep and she left in the morning. Here's the thing she and her husband. Who i've never met. Thank god don't get along. Oh she and her husband. Don't get along and have no sex whatsoever. Oh so. She's in a loveless marriage okay. This is what she told me. Anyway she has long wanted a divorce but won't do it because of her son so while saying no might have seen like the noble non home record thing to do. Pardon me kept keeps asking. What difference does it make. You know what you ever see scarface when the cop goes. It's your tree. Frank is sitting in it. Alright that's her fucking situation. Do she married a guy that she didn't love and she had a kid all right. That's you're stepping into the world of her bad decision. Now think back when you were a kid and you thought about meeting the woman your dreams that the way it went down. I'm not trying to shit on this thing here but like you know. I think she needs to be free and clear if you're actually thinking of Getting into a fucking relationship with this person just banging. I don't know dude. I don't know the fucking kid. Look there was no kid involved. Have add it but it's just something that some kids sitting at home in some racing car bed you know love and his mom and his dad. I don't know. I don't know that's do. You really want that on your resume. Anyway he goes. Then there's the fact that our friendship suffered anyways because ever since that night. She scaled back all the contact with me. They say that affairs never end well. But this isn't ending well either. I don't know. I just feel like maybe i should of fucked her few trusted guy. Friends say they would have. Of course they would've. I would've i would've i know i would have if i was drunk. And she said that. I'd put the kid. I don't know if i could have blocked out the kid. I am a piece of shit. But i don. I don't think i'm that big a piece of shit. I'm just being honest. I know there's a lot of ladies that are listening to this thing but you know how we are. Okay lead us around by our fucking dick. Some fucking hottie. you're working with. He's.

"Millennium sold more than nine point. Four million copies in nineteen ninety nine and one point one million in its first week alone. It really was the golden age of pop music backstreet boys and n sync were selling records by the caseload and thanks in part to their success. The number of cds sold annually in the united states increased from two hundred and seven million in nineteen ninety. Two nine hundred and thirty seven million in two thousand so insane was the record selling business that in one thousand nine hundred ninety nine. A new category of bestseller was created the diamond record referring to albums or singles that sold ten million copies or more. It's crazy because people always liked point to this as like the most lucrative time for boy but like like you said it was the most lucrative tired for music rent large cds. We're going for like twenty to twenty five dollars and because we are out of the casino era. You're not buying single tracks so like something you hear on the radio after go shell out twenty bucks for each boy band you like. But this golden era wouldn't last for very long just says millennium was shattering sales records. A teenage hacker in a suburban massachusetts bedroom was quietly posting a revolutionary file sharing service on the internet napster created by nineteen year old shawn fanning completely changed the shape of the music industry. Within a few years music would be on its knees as consumers freely swapped mp3 files causing sales to collapse but before that happened and sink was also busy selling loads of records. After escaping the grip of lou pearlman in march. Two thousand they released their second record. No strings attached get it. They were no longer controlled by a master and the album sold. Nearly two point. Four million units in. Its first week with hits like this now. I should take a minute to acknowledge that backstreet boys announcing the only boy bands of the ninety s their success and in particular their early success factory boys led to a string of copycats in the. Us like ninety eight degrees. b two k and the loop creations aleppo and oh town. The latter was created during the abc. Mtv reality television series making the band. There was also the english boy band explosion that operated independently from what was happening in the states. The massively popular group take that was formed in one thousand nine hundred eighty nine a short time later. East seventeen was positioned against take that in a rivalry reminiscent of the backstreet boys versus and sync battle. There was also boyzone and to simon cowles early successes west life and five. It really shouldn't come as a surprise that the boy bands that dominated the airwaves in the nineties had an impact on society for one thing they changed how we viewed male performers and masculinity unlike male dominated rock bands of the past. Boy bands were heavy on dancing and emotional lyrics and suddenly it was okay for male singers to belto lyrics in a higher key.

"Because no one else was alive in the nineties. It was just Maria I'm the only survivor of ninety third. Episode two hundred. Maria. Are. We now just getting this. Story for us. I've got this totally not controversial topic at all. So it was suggested to us by loyal listener ill-will motto on Twitter You love Bob Dole. Hi. Five yes, sir or Ma'am or other. Anyone's gender here. It's not that kind of podcast. The tweet that was we were in was this fact of the day fifty percent of women who take tech role drop it by the age of thirty five. Okay. Well, look, we've got two women here which one you have dropped it by the age of thirty five. Maria take he'd. Have you dropped well, here's the thing. Was I ever n one. You're here we're talking about. Not Signing. Talking about side. Paul from you cro-. Quote was take a tech role. Cyber was never even uttered in this and the source of this was a study by accenture that came out this year. So accenture is a big consultancy firm. They do stuff like this. Some people don't find these studies credible whatever I'm just GONNA take it at face value. They did a huge study called resetting culture five strategies, key women tech because it isn't a Torius problem in the industry about the pipeline and why do women leave and all this stuff and so cut off Maria did you leave tech apparently your claiming you have left I kinda. Ever in it that was my follow statement is because. I worked in tech on the COM- site I was not a programmer. So is that what they mean are we talking about only women who code or are we talking about women who work in the tech industry in general regardless of their role? So? Computer use a computer. You Flower. Flower arranging for fun. Afterward is your. On Real I mean, it's it's it's a topic near and dear to me because I went to school for Computer Science and I was an earlier version of the pipeline problem where halfway through engineering school I had changed completely different major. So yeah. Okay. So it's all this stuff is percents right and I would say that all of our listeners who've listened to you over the many many stories you've helped tell us. That, you are a cute cute geeky Ke- techy techy lady. She goes stutter you're in. She's up I think she's in the club maybe I mean yes. Maybe you feel you're in the club, you identify identify with the Club I. Hugely Respect Women who actually are software engineer says I've been one percent. So I feel like this study's probably talking more about them. But I know many women who are software engineer. So the status fifty percent of them leaving by thirty five roughly tracks with my data. So so does the survey give any descriptions of why people? Even what might we do to try and keep them? Well, it's a huge study. So yes, there's a lot of it, and if we could go through the whole thing point-by-point, I don't think anything would surprise anybody because if we put forward like, Oh, we've got a solution to this problem I would be a bazillionaire and I would just retire. Right. Now, because I'd be all set. I Echo comment that somebody made in the twitter. What's the stat for men? The reasons that people are very different but I wouldn't be surprised if it's not terribly dissimilar for men by certain Asian people just go I can't deal with this anymore and I'm leaving. Yeah. So I can say for me why I left because I think I would be according to this data I would be one of those people that left him. You don't consider this tech at running company and working with tech firms all time. But my reason for leaving was. Staff People Working View My. Oh my God they were so arrogant eighteen. Actually crying refined and command. Constantly. Okay. That these lands your life. Hey, thank God. You know what him that that bore. Weight. Also though I think it's much harder climb and I don't think men can really understand that I'm not saying that men don't have hard climbs I just think did the climb I had a number of wins but I also got kicked back in a way I found quite hard by the end of it I couldn't take a look it made me sick to my stomach to even support it that was sort of similar thing had to get the UP. Gout. was was really where I got. So I. I left my last full time job at age of thirty three and am a few years older now. So that was for me I left before thirty five and You talked to other people who work in other industries and you go. You know what they are fulfilled with what they're doing and they're not going through half the crap that I'm going through. So why am I putting up with this? And that kind of sticks with you and again, it really does occur you say just. A huge setback where you go, it's really hard to. Bounce back from it. You just go. I don't know why I'm putting up with this so. Yeah because they loved us for creativity and then you're basically working with Simon Cowles the entire time. But. That's basically what I think corporations are to the artistic months I think college pipelines have gotten their act together a little more they've gotten better at since I was in college helping to nurture an environment where women who want to code or work in the tech industry feel like they can be themselves and I know in my conversations with other women who have left some of them are engineers, some of them just in the tech industry like me it's when you get to the corporate world. Then that's when you have to really start conforming to what they think of women in corporate needs to act and behave like look like. And especially, techy men generally have been given pass. They can. You can kind of be like the crusty old guy coroner who doesn't shower very often I will say that it's changing a lot. People are willing to put up with like genius techie, Guy Being who he is and give him a lot of space and then but if you're woman, you got to fit this very narrow sense of what a woman in corporate life has to be, and that's just not what a lot of a sign up for. Unfair Croat's say they don't shout very of fish. I didn't say all shower from they just don't ever change their clothes. I do think that's changing like I. Think things have changed quite a bit in the last ten fifteen years for for men and how they have to present themselves in corporate, but the difference is huge. Yeah but you know what? Fuck it's really cool to one hundred episode. What are you wearing right now like? Off of it what? What are you wearing right now? Really did you just throw? I'm wearing slippers, leggings, and Jean. Shirt right and very happy. To, to in a knack lung on. Two hundred. F is. Done. Amazing. I'm glad I could be here for this. Crew, what's your story this week? We're going to switch gears now everyone..

I was hoping that was going to be I was like Oh. Surely they're gonNA come across Shirley Dick Destiny. Use the villain Hiya has like come up with some creepy mansion me. What was that name again Dick Desolate? What was his first name? They make a point of that being like then. Maybe that's one of the language things. Like this guy keeps like. What's your name? I'm I'm Dick Scooby Scooby doesn't say the D.. He says Rick and then he keeps saying no Dick I'm Marie. I'm needed to I. May he said I'm it's Dick. Dick case felt like. I mean it was a Dick joke like in a kid done in the like he's a Dick. That's the joke. I mean he his yeah. Yeah lost all about spooky mystery. Stuff I mean they are mystery incorporated that stuff is not really your they do. Stick to the skeleton of. Excuse the PUN. Thing where you know, maybe the, maybe the body's not the body. Maybe it be a masterpiece. Somebody else. They do that stuff your expect. But I prefer the smaller like. Their own. Fault this mystery island I thought maybe that will be spooky, but nothing's really spooky right nothing. JUS- cartoony. It just goes for the giant like Warren's where with. The. Expense ship. Type thing that looks a bit like his looks a lot like his car from marquee rates. Would you say that you liked wacky races more than Scooby Doo? I did like AC's. I would ask you a question. Did Scooby Doo a pair? McKee, racy, not that I'm aware of, but I don't know if I've seen them all right. Part of the Saturday morning cartoons was wacky races, so I did like about two. I, really love Scooby Doo as well but this. I know it was going for a different VIBE, and it's the three D. animation everything but I would really like to see them in a haunted house of some kind, but a big mystery than the beginning. I mean it shows you the origin story of them at the beginning. When the kids! Go into. You know. It looks like the perfect haunted house from the outside and I this is going to be cool adventure while it lost. three minutes. Where does this data sharing their first? Yeah, spooky adventure on it's. Like one of the old adventures. I would have got away with it if it went for you. Meddling kids I. mean they do that stuff? But then you know the main now what I'd really did like about it was they talk John Loads of pop culture stuff, which is really funny Simon Cowles in this movie. I felt that was really. Cute you know. 'cause you know the use him in a funny way, and there's other things. They mentioned stuff a lot like different. They're aware of movies and TV and share. I like that stuff I thought it was quite funny imparts. Sometimes. It got a bit old night. What got old I? Don't know there was just so. There was some. Part weather in the the Blue Falcons. And then he introduces himself. It just seemed to go on a bit. That pop like there's a lot. Jokes are reused and. Now Yeah. That's where I felt like. Oh! I know this is. Primarily, for kids, All primarily primarily the case and also people who have nostalgia for Scooby Doo because he grew up with it right, it's not just. Like all these things you know, we watch, do as a kid, and we can watch this and relate to it in a in a way because we liked the friendship between shaggy. And Scooby, and the gang you know. Listen to you. We like gang. I liked the gang. The didn't do a lot with. They didn't do a lot with Fred. VALME and Daphne. Thank, those had a big enough part. you know I think they're fine. I liked some of the light. That's referred to. Fred. What did he call? Poor man's woman's Helmswoman. And he's like which one. Do you know there's a lot of funny stuff in. If you've seen the movies, you'll probably find stuff to lava. Do you like the inclusion of Light Blue Falcon? Alight Courage to. Dynamo I mean you mean the Real Blue Valkanov this version? Before like. I mean I watched it every single time. It was on I'm sure I'm not super familiar with it. So. It didn't really do a lot for me, but I knew it was like a new existed before, but I wasn't like Oh my God. You, know it's like spiderman onto. It was like it's one of those where if you can't have scooby on then something like blue, Falcon was fine, and it was the same by same kind of people made it share. The same adventure every you can kind of predict Scooby Doo. I mean well kind of you. Can always you reckon part of the charm right? The share predicted. This well, you almost predicted. This has clubs. The opposite of what is going on. Yeah, so you know. Michael Club exactly. Is a decent length. You know these kind of movies, don't? They're not usually to our picks. This one's nineteen minutes on the nose. To Ninety minutes yeah, perfect for this adventure I like the ancient Greek stuff. Goes this some ancient Greek? Actually, 'cause captain, cave, this cave monster off his ancient Greek stuff I get it all. Yeah, so just throws a loss stuff in, but it was all cool. You know I like. This is a stock which is cool. That was one of the things where I was like out colorful. It's like green red, and it's really like crazy like massive. How did you like the story over? Dredging the story because it Scooby Doo, so the story is always going to be. The bad guy wants to do something for themselves, obviously, the for treasurer or two. It's almost always for monetary gain. Unless it is a real spooky monster, which it isn't. That's just it. That's the whole deal, and then you stop them and you move on, so the story is fine. It could have been anything and that would be saying the exact same thing to refer B- In a fun of. From, You know he's always the I've always liked it. I. Have No idea definitely was going to be the villain so when it zoomed up? Happens like twelve. As the most I shows like no way. "And you hear the story behind the story. That's that's true if art Volvo Baby. What's going on our boss and Maggie? I have to say I was kind of not looking forward to this art Basel Miami. Which is the big art fair Miami because Beasley every celebrity goes down there it was pretty big but then it turned into a thing where there are a lot of like see listers? You know. It's has gotten kind of like lame but this year. It's actually been pretty good and part of the reason that I'm into it is at the art has actually been making headlines more than the celebrities right so for a few years. Our Basel was all about the big art sales and then they kind of subsided and then it was all about like Lenny. Kravitz is hosting a party at the Della. No and make AAC you know a lot of performances which was cool but it wasn't about the are but this year it's it's really more about the art than the celebrities right less about Leo and what he's I am. Yeah exactly I mean Leo. Dicaprio did show up And we reported that he went out to Mega Club. Eleven which is a celebrity celebrity favorite spot till six. Am He had sneaked in the back way and then was hanging out with Kendall Jenner and a table of like fifty people. You know stayed until six in the morning but they're more headlines out the art that are more exciting than Leo just hang out till six. AM which sort of happens you know at every every single art basel like there was a banana. This actually made the front page of the New York. Post that a banana duct duct taped to a wall sold for one hundred and twenty thousand dollars. That was that was the art. The best part of that is that it's titled Comedian. It's comedian Indian. And it's just a regular banana and it just is GonNa Rot. You know and you just see the banana and the duct tape and you're like this is a joke but it is kind of a joke. It's by Marita Cat Dhillon WHO's a very big Italian artists? In sort of like a prankster in the art world. You might remember. He installed a a gold like a solid gold toilet At the GUGGENHEIM. Yes that people can actually use. And so it's the same artists behind that and he was coming up with this banana and duct tape idea for years and years and was figuring out how to create this banana and like what materials he would use and then he. He said he realized that it should just be a banana. So it literally is just a banana and there are three bananas in duct tape. I think one soul for like two hundred thousand thousand one hundred twenty thousand and they're still one available but it's going fast because I think actually the gala wrist who's showing the banana with the duct tape said that once it rots. If it doesn't sell they'll just throw it in the trash so much for being an investment. Yeah but yeah well it also if you if you're hungry yeah it's a great. I mean it's one hundred twenty thousand dollars snack snack on the wall Taking only thing is also the fruit fly situation situation. I don't think it was constructed in the New York City apartment good point also at art Basel. There's there's a thing called Kid's Basel Eisele Right. It sounds like kids. Bop Kids Bob. Moon about kids bought volume three hundred. Eighty seven okay. The I've spent I've heard famous art recreated by children or what no no. It's actually it's original art that's created by kids as young as seven in years old and there's one twelve year old there who has a painting that's for sale for seventy five thousand dollars her name is Elizabeth. Oh her name is Elizabeth and his team. Oh she's thirteen years old and she sold the piece for twelve thousand five hundred dollars that she created when she was eleven. That's all that art Basel. Aw and then. There's another artist who goes by the name. Coops her name. Is Isabella Koopman. Okay I would love to fifteen year old artists with the nickname like that coop. Play like coops. She sold four of her colorful collages for a total of ten thousand dollars among those was a work out of candy wrappers with the phrase sweet like candy that went for fifteen hundred. It's totally ridiculous. I'm going to light my art school degree on fire shortly after this podcast. Yeah Maggie you really miss the the boat. I miss the Banana. You miss the Banana. Vote all right. Let's get into our first story. NBC has been struggling with the fallout going on behind the scenes. That America's got talent after Judge Gabrielle. Union was fired more has been revealed about the shows alleged toxic culture. What is going on at this show? And how how did it get to this point. This is a disaster Maggie. It's like in a matter of days. This story has snowballed into becoming such a big thing that at NBC. And Simon Cowl. WHO's the producer of the show and star have brought in outside counsel and they had a meeting in with Gabrielle Union? For five hours at a five hour meeting to talk about you know her allegations against the show and it's just like another another disaster for NBC. One thing that's actually kind of interesting is that. NBC is just the distributor of this show. So America's got talent shoots partially on on a lot that's at NBC. In north. Hollywood California but Simon Cowles company psycho is the producer of the show right. NBC has just the distributor so weird way NBC. Must just be like I cannot believe I'm speaking of. NBC is a person now I'm NBC. I cannot believe revival dragged into yet another scandal can't CBS ABC. Take one of these. Somebody else take the heat. So just to Backtrack Gabrielle. Union meet some very serious allegations. Aside from alleging it was a toxic workplace culture. She claimed that she was given notes that her hair was was to black. That Jay Leno made a joke. That was offensive toward Korean people and that Simon cowl was smoking on the indoor or set so that paints a picture of a pretty difficult workplace culture right and just go through the bank you basically Jay Leno onstage. Stage had made a joke right where there was a painting of Simon cowl and Simon callow dogs and Jay. Leno basically said Oh that looks like a scene from a Korean Restaurant Gabrielle. Union took offence the joke and was worried about something airing that would be racially insensitive viewers so in any event she was bringing these concerns concerns up to NBC brass. Both of those things were edited out of the show but she wanted to report the Jay Leno incident to human resources this and allegedly Simon Cowl had gone to Gabrielle Union. Said listen if you have issues with the show you should come to me. Don't go to NBC and so that was also perceived as cowl Possibly like covering up stuff on the show to try and keep it from the network network right something that we've been reading a lot about. Is that since Gabrielle. Union joined America's got talent. There seems to have been a rise in viewership. Well Yeah fans know that her social media profile Sushi and Julian huff were both fired from the show although NBC or sources sources close to NBC. Have said they weren't fired. They were rotated out which is like. I don't know what that means After just a year on the show and fans have noted that both of their social media impressions were higher than any of the other stars on the show. Like Howie Mandel. WHO's been there for years but that Simon cowl Howell doesn't pay attention to social media stuff but apparently Gabrielle Union was incredibly popular with fans of the show but she'd gone this reputation on the show for being difficult? I have to admit the racism allegations are obviously very serious. The her hair styles being two black but initially when I had heard about the smoking the thing I just thought like a you know whatever that so l. a.. You know people are like but when you look into it further it. It is sort of problematic. Sips Simon cows a big smoker smoker. And they shoot the show in this theater and he smokes on the set and according to sources this has been brought up to him before that at producers that people on the show like crew people have brought this up before because in California. It's actually a state law that you're not allowed to smoke smoke inside and so this was brought up to him as like a A legal issue in like a violation on the set that was going on the other thing is that apparently finally the dressing rooms. Because it's in this theater don't have solid walls so they just have like carpeting and stuff sort of up so sources close to Gabrielle. I really union had been alleging that the smoke was kind of like seeping into her dressing room and that she's allergic to smoke and was developing some sort of bronchial condition. I mean as I said like initially I was was like oh so he smoked a cigarette inside. Okay everyone's like freaking out but it does sound like this was a pervasive issue on the show as well something to keep in mind. Rain is what tone does that set in the workplace that this one person. The creator of the show gets to defy the law. And here's Gabrielle. Union forty seven years old longtime career in Hollywood still feeling like she has to work around him. What kind of environment is create right? I I guess there was. Yeah I mean I think obviously the show is Simon Cal's show in its timing house baby but I think the one thing that we're seeing with all of these these situations in Hollywood now whether it was sort of the metoo stuff or these allegations is that I think the rules used to be like. If you're a big enough star or you had enough power you basically could do whatever you wanted and people just had to go along with it. You know the other thing thing I guess that Gabrielle Union got a reputation for being difficult for was she was asking the performers what Pronoun they wanted to be referred to by rates so rather than. I don't know him or her. You know whatever they preferred and I guess people took exception to that and that was also seen as the thing that she was being difficult about but one thing in all of this whole scandal. That's kind of gotten lost in like all of the bigger or headlines that I found to be really interesting is how much the show seems to kind of manipulate. The I mean. You wouldn't be surprised right because it's it's like all of TV. It's like you know we all know reality. TV isn't really real and sort of semi scripted in a lot of cases but in this case some of the reporting his said for example that among the racism claims Gabriel Union was. A fan of there was a ten year old black rapper on the show right name Dylan Gilmer. And apparently he was like a huge fan favourite on the show But then there there have been reports that there was a meeting where producers of the show told the judges that they they needed to pick an act that America can get behind and and there was a suggestion that that act was a dance group from Texas that was made up of white contestants and that she couldn't sort of go ahead in her her. You know liking of this ten year old black rapper. But so one thing about that I just find usually now. NBC Sources have denied that that they said that they use that wording. But it's interesting to me. That is part of this another thing. That's coming up with America's got talent is that the production meetings were the producer. Allegedly like telling the judges like this is the act that we want to win or we want you guys to push. Yeah we're pulling back the curtain on America town totally and it seemed like such a squeaky clean show and this is not the first time we've heard about stuff burning America's got talent. Wasn't there some drama with Nick Cannon. Then yeah well. That's the thing. Is this the. This story began really in twenty seventeen. But I feel like a lot of people didn't pay attention to it too much but it was actually a very similar story in a certain way where nick cannon who had been the hosted the show did a showtime stand up comedy Special Dole and he alleged that NBC had told him that they didn't like his using the N.. Word in his standup routine and he basically basically then turn around and slammed NBC on Social Media and said that they were suppressing..

But I am a huge fan of his singing and dancing and acting in these multitalented Broadway films. But he he taught us something. See I always thought in my mind's eye that the famous picture of Donna rice sitting on Gary Hart's Delap in front of the monkey business boat is what cost that when that picture came out? Boom. He was toast, and Hugh Jackman told us that that picture came out weeks later did after he was already out of the race. Right learned something. And remember Gary Hart would really did. Amid was the weird kind of smile smirk on his Lear on his face. But he also he was wearing the monkey business t-shirt. Yeah. Monkey business crew member said, but he was adamant the movie's called front runner and Michael. And I both watched the yesterday, and he was adamant that he didn't think that that should affect anything to do with being a public official that was all private life and had nothing and to this day. Hugh Jackman went and interviewed Gary Hart for the role talking about it. Yeah. And to this day. He still feels the same way that should have nothing to do with. Well, the thing that, you know, hurt Gary Hart though, back then remember he gave the quote to the New York Times famously saying follow me around. You think there's anything in my privates. The post follow me. Now. Actually that quote was in the New York Times wasn't. Yeah. He said follow me around follow me around. Go ahead following me around. Now, the press had already been following him around because they picked up on the rumors or the Miami Herald used that as well. He called the paper. So. Yeah. So now, we have free because even the papers at that time were skin isn't the worst thing they didn't want to follow him around. But they were using his comments too. I thought it was the Washington Post. You said it was the times his comments to say sure, go follow me around. Well, it was interesting though, because Ben bradlee as portrayed in the movie, the legendary editor of the Washington Post and the rumors about Gary Hart percolate up, and he said, look if we were going after the private lives of all these guys there'd be no one left in congress because he knew about Kennedy's affair. Any and I love the line in the movie where Lyndon Johnson takes the press corps side says guys you're going to be seen a lot of women coming in and out of my hotel rooms don't write anything about it. At this point in the case of Adam and eve as is almost always the case, Dan, you can attest to this your second marriage really is the best one good. Just to get the first one out of the wall. Yeah, the first one's a trial run in, you know, crashed and burn that when that's right to happen, you can't get divorced until you get married Lord. Truth, the circle circle of life. So she appears again in the Dead Sea scrolls in the song of the sage and here on the how to heretic is our first, but hardly are less dramatic reading these girls. Yes, please. And I, the instructor proclaim his glorious splendor. So as to frighten end to terrify, all the spirits of the destroying angels spirits of the bastards demons Lilith howlers desert dwellers poor Lilith, man. It's she's the only one with a fucking neighbor and friend of his. And those which fall upon men without warning to lead them a stray from a spirit of understanding to make their heart desolate during the present dominion of wickedness and predetermined time of humiliations for the sons of light by the guilt of the ages of those smitten by Nikki, not for attornal destruction, but for an era of humiliation for transgression boy, and your case, you were wondering that was a big shout. He paragraph about masturbation. The fucking obsession with this theme in the ancient texts is like exhausting. It's so funny. I mean, it sounds to me like there because what we know of the bible is that it is a hodgepodge of mythology from all around the region from young Egypt to Samaria to like all that whole region, and people just gathered stories and peace to them together in ways that made sense to them. Right. And some sage said, oh, this is my story and it's not as wasn't a story, right? Yeah, yeah. And so you know, this Lilith was from eight different stories? Yeah. And then they just whatever. Yeah, we need. We need a bitch to pin all this stuff. What's your name? Lilith? So here's another appearance she makes, which I think is fascinating. She or they, her nature seems to drift between a singular being in a class of demons or nature spirits, depending on the source. She appears on something called incantation bowls, which was actually, I think, Simon Cowles I show. It's a little little known classic. Sorry, Lilith it's a no. For me. These things were unearthed in the ruins of the four to six century see Sassan kingdom, which was a last gasp fragment of the Persian empire and their actual bulls from a particular Jewish culture dish in that were buried upside down in houses to trap demons. Okay. So the following inscription was found on a bowl made to protect woman named rush noy and her husband from Lilith. Thou Lilith made male and female Lilith haggen goule. I. For fuck sake guys. I you by the strong one of Abraham by the rock of Isaac, by the Shaddai of Jacob by Yehoshua by his memorial to turn away from rational b. and from gay. Oh, ni- be her husband. Here is your divorce and writ and letter of separation sent through holy angels. Amen. Amen. Sheller Alleluia. Okay. Well, you know, frankly, it's owns legal to me, okay. This is either very large bowl or very tiny writing..

"The drive with Leigh Matthews. How was your Tuesday weld? It got a little warm today. But the breeze was kind of nice we're going to continue to have that breezy weather. But unfortunately, the humidity is going to hang out. We'll get into that come up on NewsRadio one thousand Katie, okay? With traffic and weather together on the tens wrote king Roger standing by to tell us about traffic. If there's any problems he'll alert you to it. I am Lee Matthews and you can join me in conversation. Eight four zero one thousand star one thousand got some things to chat about we started this conversation yesterday, but I didn't get a chance to finish it the state still needs teachers now we raise taxes to pay teachers evidently that is still not enough because we still have a bunch of teaching positions that are open, which basically means if you have a degree in anything basically sign a paper that you're willing to do continuing education later and you'll get a gig. We'll get into it. Coming up on NewsRadio one thousand K T. Okay. Melinda. Doolittle is coming in concert. That's going to be on the twelfth and thirteenth next Thursday and Friday. I'm sorry. Or is it Friday Saturday at any rate? We've got tickets to the concert at the Civic Center. If you don't remember who she is. She was an American idol star. A few years ago grew up in Tulsa, she's been making her way on the scene and was a favourite of Simon Cowles. She's got her own concert. And I'm just going to give that to a caller of the day today. Whatever caller brings the best conversation today. We'll give that. So if you have something to chat about today. April one thousand star one thousand Michael Barr, joining us from twenty four seven news, the FBI was granted an extension into their investigation of supreme court nominee, Brad Kavanagh. Now, I know what you're thinking when on God's green earth. Are we going to vote on this and move on? Well, we also heard from the leader of the Senate Mitch. Mcconnell earlier today. I have previously spoken about this issue with our own Senator James Langford, Senator Inhofe sounded off on it today with our own news team. And she is standing by Beth Myers with the latest news coming up to in twenty minutes. And I'm gonna tell you what they told me. But unfortunately, neither of them are on the committee or the judiciary committee. They're in the full Senate, and what's going to happen. Because at some point the Republicans are going to have to do their thing and flush their waste if you know what I mean. And then get off the pot. Trying to put that politely. I've homogenize the term the colloquialism if you will. But I think you know, what I mean. So we'll get into that you and I together four thousand star when thousands more conversation about the new alcohol laws, which I still love and a little later in a later on instead of guy sneaking out of class, he snuck into class if I were the parents of this person, I would be worried maybe you would be to tell me if I'm wrong. Eight four.

"Was leaning forward like car be accused of fake news. People say all that really happened. Did not happen. It was made up entirely by my staff. Hey, did you hear? Just occurring to me right now. It's not in. Our our news pilot on think, but Southwest Airlines in all these airlines are having to deal with comforting animals. So I guess I could understand PTSD maybe have a dog. Right. So Southwest Airlines is they released what you can. And cannot something a trained. Cats are loud. I've never I don't know. How anybody trains a cat like circus cats? Mousetrap to the back of them is an I saw somebody. I saw something on one of those shows where Simon Cowles involved somehow, but somebody did have trained cats. I it's got to be the hardest damn thing in the world to get a cat to do anything that you want anyway, trained cats are allowed and also miniature horses. I'm not lying to this is now the Southwest Airlines policy. You can bring force, and I don't know if this is it has to be a plane. That's so big. One of those huge plains that goes coast to coast with three different rows across maybe I could see a horse. You've got to be in first class with Shetland pony saving miniature horse horse is a room for a miniature horse. And they're so inbred understand how they could be trained who's gonna complain if the airline doesn't allow these types of people you're the person wants to bring the comfort horse. We'll tell you can't bring your horse on a plane. I haven't this is my comfort. Better be wearing one of those horsey diapers of it does bridal. It doesn't matter. Horses are always gonna stink. Am I wrong? No, you're not even a clean horse has into us is gonna stink. And I paid just as much as you paid. Actually, that's one of the things. They wonder why there's so much anger on airlines. I think it's because one of these is one of the only places where you beyond that the person sitting next to you could have paid hundreds of dollars less than you. Everybody knows. It's all about how you found mostly in life, something cost something. But the when you're on a plane, you're really aware of the fact that other people got are a hell of a lot better deal, especially if you're sitting next to Clark Howard, you know, he didn't play full full price builds a certain anger, and then the the yeah. A miniature horse y'all got room for my support. Orca. There is a John Wayne. Water on throughout the place. Imagine that a horse on a farm might make me feel tranquil one with nature, but a horse on a toothpaste tube at thirty thousand feet. Yeah. But you never been riding a horse. That's gonna come for you, Eric. That's obviously comforts of one person. And it causes everybody else to go into shock and comfort animals, especially if you're talking about trained comfort dog or something or even just a any kind of trained dog. You're not supposed to pay them. Right. You can't have fun. Oh, yeah. They don't bark at other dogs. They don't use the bathroom in the in the X expertly trained. Yeah. What happens? Alan hunt brings up a good point in my ear. What happens when when the horse gets riled because the horses. Go crazy, something some kind of loud, noise, or something I guess is supposed to be one of the reasons that people apparently they get the comfort horses over the comfort dogs says you can write it. No. Oh, they're little teeny things. You can't get on a maybe if you're a toddler no the reason is because they live longer than dogs. And so they have more comfort miles in them. Then your average dog. I don't know how long miniature horse am uncomfortable. Can I have an animal? John Wade part of me that just says, you know, what deal with it? I know you're having troubles. But if you wanna get on a plane, you know, it's gonna last a few hours, even when the seat belt sign is not illuminated, please. Keep your seat belt securely fastened in case we experience rough air and please avoid the back of any comfort horses. I'll get spooked these animals farting. This is a how can you? What are they gonna do? Not. Horse gets a gas attack. Dog dogs. Gas attack in the bedroom as Batman it's time to get rid of a man, but with the horses. My cats. I will only give them dry food. I'm not giving my pets the stuff that's gonna tear my life apart. I want to be able to enjoy net flicks. I don't wanna smell other wanna Netflix and chill. Netflixing smell. That's right. I just don't, you know? I don't understand. Why people I don't understand. Why people give gourmet food to their pets? You realize, you know, the Buddhist say that. It's it's the fact that you you want something you desire, something is what causes misery because once you realized that there are things that you want that you don't have that's where your misery as well. This is never more obvious than with an animal like a cat. If you feed a cat. Regular cat food, dry cat food with water this whole life. It has no idea. There's anything else except what it catches outside. It has no idea that there's something else. You can put in the ball wants all we'll just once a week. I give him gourmet you introduce misery. Of your household pet because then every time they go to the bowl. And it's not the good stuff to my mom, man. I wish I could speak. I'd tell them how mad I am as it is I could just meow, and they always they just think it means. I want to go out. It's very difficult to get your point across. When you're a household pet was your if your horses only eaten. Hey, but every once in a while you give it a sugar cube. Don't you think that's the same thing? You know what I don't know much about horses. I spent most of my life in the in the cities of our country and a few a few years were in the rural areas, but I never got close to horses. I don't trust them. It is big and scary. They look like they're up to something. They look like they're planning something to me. And I think my two cats are as well, by the way, I caught them conversing in a corner. And I don't know. From each other. Yeah. They were like, wait. Wait, this up might here. I'm going to bet this thing around. Seems to me they're trying to sit up some sort of unionizing vote or something I don't not going to happen ganging up against to sleep. Let's couch. Let me get this straight. There's no peanuts on a plane anymore because one person might have Pena bring your horse horse horses. Exactly what if you're allergic to a horse dogs or cats, I'm allergic to cat. I don't know. I don't know. I don't. I don't understand economy, Brussels. Support iguana, you're fine. You probably won't get salmonella. It's fine. I just think that the I saw this story this morning on the television on the TV Sally brag. But I do have a television. I could afford one color one of the big color. Come on. Is it curved? I don't want the audience so much. Yes. It is. The care screams moneybags. Nineteen million dollars a year immediately. I just thought my goodness what an absurd world just absurd that you can bring horses. What if the force hasn't decided what sexuality the then you've gotta say, they when you're referring to the horse absurd. This is get my horse gender neutral. Do they had this thing in New York? Now, I guess it's in California to they have a third box on birth certificates. So as male female, gender nonspecific. But how do you know that your kid? It's impossible to know that a newborn thinks anything that's what they're saying. So. So what you gonna wait until later on. We had a baby don't make up your kid's mind, right? Shut their sexes. But we don't know their it's so absurd. Same thing. It's absurd. It is absurd. She buys into is nonsense. You buy into it. It's something new. They're buying into it makes it makes me makes it look like, I'm being tricked. Yes. Exactly. Hey, let me tell you do people who are tricked usually know, they're being tricked. No, not unless they're going to a process. Maybe you're being. Oh, you mean. Here Anne Hathaway Eric your cans, hold on. Are you talking about the way I was raised in a world where horses were not allowed on planes? It might be. You don't think it's strange to refer to a person. Like when you're writing about that as I say, if autumn is pan, whatever and I. Autumn. Fisher claims autumn Fischer says, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And then the next sentence. What I'm referring to you? I use the word they believe they. Yeah. I I think also that that feels weird who were they? Yes. Wow. I just figured it out. When you hear they say all these years, we've wondered who they are. Now, we know now, we know. So they're experts are some kind we need to start looking up to them. I agree with you autumn. You've turned me around. Eric.
