"A few times he claimed that he survived five shipwrecks to airplane crashes in three automobile crashes and a train wreck and one tonic. Yeah. And he did claim that he survived the Titanic, but there were no mail survivors of the Titanic named Kelly all their work, there were Kelly survivors. But all three of them were women. So what if there's a possibility that he transitioned sometime between nineteen twelve and. I think it is less likely than that. He was lying, and there's also some what if he's a translator onward we're robbing that from we're whitewashing history. I think he would have I think that would have been part of his fame. I think he would have claimed it if he'd gone on trainwreck. Or any other people claim that he was called shipwreck because he was an amateur boxer for a time and not not a good one. And was so was so bad in the ring just like staggering around that they're like sort of like, a nickname comes through the worst boxer, and he turns it into hey, by the way, baby I had the Titanic. The sad thing about Mr Kelly is that by the fifties. He had faded into obscurity and had become a penniless like afterthought. This really no second acts on omnibus is there like. Like what these are Shooting Stars. We talk about. But yeah, you don't you don't care often from your from your heyday. I guess I like the ones where you know, after one amazing act that it turns out, Robert Smalls, become some amazing local politician, right hero to South Carolina. But apparently Alvin Kelly did not have the wherewithal to know. In fact, he died, and I I'm not sure this is ironic or not, but he died a by being hit by car someone so athletic so live presumably that he just was walking in the street in Manhattan and somebody like car, ran planes and trains, but not automobiles too bad as somebody who somebody who also got a brief moment of spotlight for just doing something annoyingly long. I kind of sympathize with Alvin it is very hard to peak young. Is there a I have this idea? There's this boon you'll movie about this hermit who climbs up a pole put for God. Not for donuts or whatever. Like, it's an act of religious devotion to like just flight pole-sitter, basically. Well, so is that a thing you're the suspicion when you go back to the initial dare whoever it was that dared Alvin shipwreck Kelly to go sit on top of a flight poll. You would think that they were the genius that invented this? Right. It wasn't Elvin himself. It was this wag barroom wag who dared him to trying to trying to make them. Do something dumb. But in fact, sitting has an ancient lineage and was still kind of literary trope even in the nineteenth century poll sitting is referred to in by Tennyson. It's in Connecticut Yankee in king Arthur's court, it's in Moby Dick references to and it's a references to this kind of ancient like asceticism et cetera. Pole-sitting that all begin with a Syrian by the name of Simion of style. Light the elder. Oh, that's the name of the Bruyneel movie is called Simon of Simon of the desert or something like that. I must be about this guy. Yeah. Simion who who lived in the sort of like three ninety two four ninety era. And he he lived in sort of the area around Aleppo in what's now Syria, and he was an ascetic he from a very young age devoted himself to to worshiping God as a monk, but he was so into the mortification of the flesh so into depriving himself of all of earthly pleasures that he alienated the other monks. They're all like your little too into this. Yeah, they were all living in their making us look bad with the with the abbot super spare little cells subsisting on grains of rice a day and Simion was like one grain of rice. What if there was like really pointy gravel in my little cell, and they're all like on that we all have to do this. When he so the other monks exiled him, and this was an era, and we've talked about kind of the this era. We've alluded to it before as a time of decadence in the eastern empire Byzantine empire. Yeah. This was a time when when slappers and raccoon coats, and the initial Christians were for very persecuted and saw themselves as a corrective necessary corrective for the these guys who were eating pheasant hummingbird stuffed into a pheasant right into fez Duggan's..

"And he joins me Jonathan hood on ESPN one thousand and the SPN app. Hello, mike. Hey, Jonathan how're you doing doing very well. Thank you, first and foremost before we dig in here. I I really need to know this Derrick rose story because Derrick rose as he's got a he's got a documentary coming out, and I'm surprised actually raised my eyebrows to see that. No one talked to you and interviewed you about this documentary. So what was it like on a Simion? I'll fans retreating you regarding Derrick rose. No, this was not a fan. It was someone that was close to the family that gave me a quote about how he was basically box out of everything wants the money came close and printed out in the sun times. And he was not happy about that. And the first time he saw me happened to be at a summer of them to Illinois at a steel assembly hall. We were like walking through the tunnel. I just talked to Jay price assistant. And then I turned around and this guy was there and got a little ugly. Oh, wow. That's something. I think I need more detail at everybody forgets how hot it was, you know, around the whole, you know, someone else taken is not forum, and you get his grades changed its semi on was a big story. We did the sun times his teammates all at their great change the transcript there was a lot of stuff going on back. Then very interesting. Over some beers. Unite need to talk about this. So I want you to talk a little bit about something that Stephen bardo set it on broadcast. He did the Paul USC one night. And he said that clearly highschool basketball is way more popular than college basketball in the city, and the state is that is is when you look at high school basketball, and and the how many people love high school basketball is it because of the pageantry how the great players can high is that why there's more love for high school basketball in the city and state, then the Paul you. I see, you know, Illinois northwestern. You know in in the city. Yeah. There's no question. Not even close the love for high school basketball. I would say outstrips below for most sports. I mean, it's crazy to imagine on a just on a Wednesday night at about five o'clock. There are tens of thousands of people at just games in the city of Chicago publicly games. A lot of people realize that five o'clock when they're getting off work. You know, we have loaded gyms on every side of the city. I think you know, it's the same in the suburbs around here. I think you know, downstate a little bit, you know, the love for Illinois Champaign that area is pretty huge. So I think it's quite equal there. But in the city. Yeah, no doubt as far as why? I mean, the basketball better, frankly, I mean, since you know, falls heyday there hasn't been anything worth watching, you know. So maybe Loyola, but even that doesn't have the identity of the neighborhood, then the sides of town and the stars that just means so much Michael O'Brien from the sun time, sometimes dot com. Also, host of the shot clock podcast with Jonathan hood on ESPN one thousand and the SPN app. The the public league looking at the one loss record and seeing what's been going on with the publicly league is just amazing. Why has Curie in particular been so dominant? You know, it took us all by surprise. I I wish I could say that I knew this is coming. But you know, I think I had jury to start the season at the top ten teams, but you know, lower ten day are so dominant because they're unselfish. You know, they've got a solid core of five senior starters that share the ball. Well, they're all very athletic or led by DeJean. Gordon? He's going to Kansas state is one of the few high major seniors we have in this whole state. So that helps you know, he's got a nice deporting calf they play pretty unselfish basketball. And that goes a long way especially on the four without a shot clock. You know, like we say they can really take the air the ball, and they want they can run when they want. They're a fun to watch kind of unexpected. And this the idea that the public league, and I'd say take a look at your top twenty five is filled with quality when it comes to the public league. I'm wondering is there as it always been that way the last couple of years? Something this year. That's in the water. We have had, you know, Whitney young Simion Curie lately has joined that group. They have dominated high school basketball statewide over the last decade that that's not a secret. But now this season, especially we're seeing, you know, Morgan parks won back to back, you know, smaller school three state titles. But then you've got Lincoln park has a young coach doing a great job there. You've got Bogan kind of been on the periphery to the last decade, but it's coming on strong. Now, you know, Farragut wolf Nelson still there, you know, the guy who coached Ronnie field. And he's still getting it done. But yeah, this is new day. Are there are about a dozen publicly team that it seems better than most anybody in the suburbs. The publicly just for a number of reasons, I think they did a better job. Replacing the latest generation of coaches of the teams in the suburbs. Did you know in the old days Thornton west Aurora? Proviso east think Joseph, you know, they were always powerhouses, and that's just not the case anymore. What do you think is the best atmosphere in the city when you cover a game? You know, the small second floor. Jim are pretty special. There's not a lot of people in there. They'll be, you know, three hundred maybe, but it's pretty neat. Marshall. On the west side. He I'm sure a lot of people. Remember, you know, the clips Hoop Dreams, and all that kind of stuff Marshall is still a pretty special place to see a game. They've been down a little bit the last two years, and they finished I believe last read north west if you're gonna fall down to the white they're not going to be in the red anymore, and that's going to be a big loss to publicly get promotion and relegation doesn't say finish in the bottom two. They have to go down. But that's a great atmosphere. You cannot beat Bogan which is in the south west side. It's done a little bit by mid way. They have really turned their place into just fortress. It is so loud it is. That is a bigger gym. They could probably fit fit five or six hundred people in there. I would say right now atmosphere at Bogan is really intimidating, and it's tough for any team to go in there and get a win one thing that you Joe talked about on the podcast that I thought I remembered, but it was a refresher, especially this. This last episode is the Catholic League that there's two champions. In the Catholic League. So so you're talking to a Saint Francis de sales graduate, and I know looking at things are things are going well in the south east side. But that makes no sense to me unless the champions meet in the middle. Why have two champions there that is odd is not? It's odd. But okay, first of all the Catholic cannot figure out what they're doing with basketball there. They've changed formats almost every two years. It seems for the last decade. They don't know what's going on there. But what they do. Now is they have a blue and white and they're not equal. The blue teams are all bigger schools that are basket that are considered better basketball, and the white teams are considered lesser. They don't have like a set promotion relegation systems doing their mind. Whoever wins the white is not a champion. Whoever wins the blue. Make any sense at all would you especially out here of teams in that light pretty good like Leo's in there? And they could beat anybody on a nice if they cannot figure it out, you know, people like to make fun of the public legal lot and act like Chicago public schools the math. They don't know what they're doing. But if there is one true thing of beauty industry cargo public school. It's way basketball is laid out with promotion and relegation and the way that even the smallest school. You've never heard of can put together a program and rise all the way up, you know, being conference. I mean, it's pretty amazing. And it makes a lotta sense. And it's fun to watch. What is the best up that you have not seen the city yet that you'd love to see? Yeah. We have not seen Curie who was twenty four and one and has lost to a team in the states. We have not seen number one. Kyrie play young. You know, Whitney young was the preseason number one team and they haven't necessarily disappointed their nineteen six. You know, they they did lose Lincoln park, which isn't a horrible loss. You've picked up some losses on the road. They'll ASTA Bogan in the proviso west title game. So they haven't beaten everybody, but they've been really good. And that's something we match up. We really wanna see Whitney young has DJ steward who transferred over from Stanwick. He's a junior. Everybody wants them. You know, the whole big ten some bigger names. I think he's going to have a a big spring and summer and become an even bigger name. We definitely wanna see young matchup against Curie. That's something that very well could happen in the city tournament which starts either Tuesday or Wednesday. We're still waiting on that exact date, but that's gonna be a really great matchup case of quick hitters from people on Facebook. I'm just going to give you I'm gonna give you a school. You just say the first thing that comes to your mind. So no one cannon says, Leo. Oh, man. You know, t- honest. We have disappointed me a little bit. I think they're loaded thread Cleveland is this tiny guard. You know, he's gonna remind you like Jimmy Sanders or something like that don't start left. See how do you still much fun to watch the Anderson brothers who are great rebounders? I really thought they would be a little bit better than they are. They can still completely win class to a they had a lot of turmoil. Coaching change in the middle of the season. Head coach got in a fight with his assistant was a mess. The lead Toronto season a little disappointing. Three more bloom. The bloom Trojans. Oh bloom is exciting bloom in Chicago heights for those that don't know endure legendary powerhouse in the south suburbs. They brought back Dante Maddox junior. Who is he played a bloom bloom grad they made him the head coach three years ago. And he is doing it. He has kept Chicago heights stars in Chicago heights. Because those kids have been finding a way into the public league they've been leaving bloom, but he kept them. He's got this core group, his son three other kids. They're all gonna play college basketball. They gave Morgan park all they could handle the de Morgan park, which is a huge statement win for them. They have a couple of guys injured and they stumbled a little bit last week but bloom can win class for a they can win state next season. They could be the preseason number one. They're the most exciting. Suburban team we've seen since Jalen Brunson and Stevenson got thirty seconds. So I got two more Mount Carmel. Komo veteran. We all expected Josh Radic, really good player and York. York. Wow. They are defensive minded, they're smart. And they're better than I think anybody realizes people get angry by how high crank Michael as always. I appreciate your time. I want you to come on again. "One points at twenty four thousand nine hundred fifteen point ninety one points John twenty four nine so we're up two hundred on the year as we get closer. They always say, well, how did the Dow do that year? And it's been pretty good this year until October happened and November is not getting any better. So we're two hundred points up for the year. It's one twenty four on WGN. We've been talking about this Nazareth Simeon game earlier in the month in the state high school playoff seven a big schools. The Roadrunners Nazareth one thirty four twenty seven but Simeon's upset with the call or two and the fact that a guy had his officials uniform on on the sideline, but he was a parent of one of the Nazereth kids, and he was talking to the rest, drain. The game are brand was there. Joe you're on WGN. Hi, joe. Hi, john. How's it going? What were you doing? There were you covering it for us. I know you've been covering the high school football beat. Not regina. I was actually working for CNN one hundred we shoot the highlights for for multiple games during the playoffs scene. And that's the one I got assigned to ironically. What happened did you notice this? What do you think about this story? I did not notice a referee on the sidelines shouldn't have been there. I really don't think anyone did. I mean, the story just of coming up over the past twenty four hours. So I mean you see a rap on the sidelines. I don't think you assume that it's somebody's father and not somebody who supposed to be there. What I saw was a was a great game. It really was there were a couple of controversial calls though, the one that sticks out. Most in my mind was late in the third quarter. Simion was trailing Nazereth after Nazran made this huge comeback in the second quarter and Simion had a big sack which looked to have been a fumble on Nazareth's quarterback j McCarthy and the rest called the the play dead that it was just a straight sack. Would have been an easy touchdown source. Semion defense that would have been a huge swing in the game. That was one thing that Simion sideline and coaching staff was upset with later on in the game. There was an extra point that the referees called no good. It was just too high for our vantage point where we're where we were at the press box. It looked good. But again, we can't make total. Here belief that it was great were you there at the very end of the game. Joe I was and and that's got pretty tense March down the field credit to their offense. They had two minutes to work with all the way down the field. It gets to the end zone. Here's the thing. John they were on second and goal with time ticking down and they chose to run the ball. They went for a dive of the middle. They got stuff. They only had a little bit of time to work a play. They could have like some of what you said earlier. And some of the reports that's what I saw was some tumbling going around. But I also saw some Semion players somewhat leaving the line because I think that they thought the time had expired already knows was going crazy both sides were bantering. But if I if I may though the allegation was that the officials did not work as expeditiously as they should have to get the ball down to give Simeon one more chance. And if there's this cloud over the relationship between the father on the sideline in the. Officials in the game than it just looks bad. But John if I can Joe sounds like the controversial calls you're talking about though, we're all instant calls on the field. Not after there'd be this consultation with the nefarious quasi referee or anything like that. Yeah. That's the thing. I I'm having an issue with. I mean, if they if they tackle the quarterback in it's they call it a sack in a straight sack on the ground dead ball, not allied ball. That's not the official on the sideline making any help or any aid to the officiating crew same thing with the extra point. So that's where I got a little bit confused, but I would have to say that that last play it just looks odd. I mean, all all ends involved. Semion looser walk off naturally was starting to celebrate the clock was picking the ball was being bounced around at everyone said snap the ball snapped the ball. All right, Paul Ellison. My we gotta take a break we might come back to this later on. And I'm on Facebook about a two so feel free to comment there. Joe? It'd be interesting to see what you have to say. I'm WGN king. John on Facebook. And we'll come back to this topic. A little later on really helpful jokes. Actually, hear your voice. Thanks for chiming in. Likewise, good to talk to you on a Monday. Yeah. The sun is blacked out on the moon turns to blood I put a marker down here and say the sun is going to spend a lot of time getting blacked out from now on just one point of order. Yeah. So the saints that died the martyrs for Christ. Yeah. Calling for revenge. So that's that's totally that's a rewrite from the original. Because they a lot of these people went to their deaths willingly. Basically what they're they're under. They're saying like how long must we, you know, be here martyrs until you've you avenge the deaths that we will walk into your again, you're asking this to make sense along strategy. Well, I just found that one little flaw in the narrative. Well, yeah, you seem to hit on the on on a weird anomaly of a of a narrower so far it was with it smooth sailing. We can fix that up in the rewrite. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We'll fix it in post. What's funny is that I never I I don't know. I've never read this part of the bible. But I've heard plenty about the four horsemen of the hawk lips. I always imagine them writing together. Like like like the raves of the of of they will earth. There's an answer to that. Yeah. And like any good writer. He sets up he's setting up our characters we're getting to know them getting deep into what motivates them. They're all behind separate seals for right now right now. But I guess we just opened the seal. Other mingling with the beasts and like and the seal is a book. Right. It's a. Yeah. So it's like a sealed portion of a book, so they're ripping open these seals. So there's there are literally men on horseback in the book, but they're not they're not written in the book. They're just guys in the most fucked up version of the beginning the opening credits of reading rainbow. Right. That's exactly Burton and bit. And he opened the seal. And it was a. Death the bearer of Papp's, and we and and and he held in it was death. But. Okay. So the six seals open. The sun is blacked out the moons turn to blood the stars fall from the heavens and the mountains and islands are all shaking out of place all the men of the earth from kings on down fleet into caves and beg the caves to collapse upon them to escape the judgment. That is to come. Look cave. I've never asked for. All right. Look. I don't know where your dick is. But I will blow you suck your dick. If you're just collapse just this once so that's how oh my God. Oh, you kill yourself. Exactly Pekka cave to collapse. Jesus Christ as we enter chapter seven John is clearly regretting eating that last cap because we are really really going off the rails still in the six six seal. John cease four angels at the four corners of the earth holding back the four winds because what a globe has is four right. That in Genesis. It's hospital corners another angel sends from the east telling the four angels not to hurt the earth until he's had a chance to brand the servants of God on the forehead, how many servants will get the apocalyptic seal of approval one hundred and forty four thousand. Yeah. Wait, wait because I have listened to enough got up movies episodes to know that the Christians are terrified of being branded in the final. I know. Right. Well, this is this is Mark of salvation rather than the Mark of the beast. I'm just saying any Mark, right? You hear about these? If you mentioned Mark like government marking the people or anybody marking the people it's the. Thing they've ever heard over. That's the beast that Satan? No the March. That's happening is the good Mark. That's right. You want to be marked? Yeah. Jesus christ. You ought to be uncle, Mark. Hundred forty thousand. Mark Tech's paps. You've actually you know, where that hundred forty thousand comes. We've talked about this with Jay dubb's. I think it's twelve thousand from each of the twelve year. Exactly. Okay. Twelve thousand from each of the tribes, and that would be Judah Reuben Gad Asser Neff Nep Fulham Manassas. Simion Levi is soccer Zevulon Joseph and Benjamin. Yeah. Where's Manassas wears a from fuck off?.

"Landed. I'm hearing in my head that dynamite has sent you some signs recently. Is that true? Yes. That's true. Okay. For those of you who haven't heard, and this is our first show. I have a book call after death signs for pets. And we got a really active little dynamite on the other side. That's Amandas Furby and tell us what has done a Mike done recently to let you know that they're alive and well, okay. Well, actually, it was actually the day of my reading with you and with dynamite I walked outside after the reading it was time to take my dogs. My other two boys out, and I look up in the tree. And there was a cardinal red bird just part only bird. I really thought outside and some has told me to look in that direction, and I saw it just in time for it to kind of flutter away. Well, that's because that's a sign that comes out of the side of your and you'll see that we have had questions last week in our show about are cardinal signs from the other side, and yes, and we talked about Julie who sent a carnal to a lady that had not seen. Seen a cardinal in a year, and she had asked Julie Simion and she walked outside. And there was this big old car. No sitting right there. And there hasn't been one around our house for years. So a cardinal is a realty definitive, son. Really also because they stand out. I mean, there's a big red bird, you're gonna pay attention. That's wonderful. What were the other side? And she's in especially with that cardinal it really stood out because we just had quite a bit of snow. So it was really beautiful, you know, just to see it against the white backdrop. But additionally, she loves we've established that dynamite likes to use nature. That's probably preferred way to sit in signs and ios after our reading in my house. I hadn't seen any for a while. And all of a sudden, some ladybugs show up cool, and hugs is also a sense ladybugs are for change there. A good sign, right? Yeah. I believe they're referenced in your your new book about the signs. Yeah. We have a whole sexual what they mean. So if you've got some bug bird or critter out there. You can look it up under for Gaul or deer or goose or dubs or whatever. And there it is. Oh, that's what that means. So I think it's interesting Mike used to send a FOX, and he also sent mallards owned my Paul because maller. Mate for life, and he would send geese and geese mate for life. And he would send a pair every anniversary and on Valentine's. He sent a pair of mallards to let me know that there's an eternal payer forever. And always, and there was an dischord broke down and cried and say, thank you, Mike from Valentine's and appreciate but remember always be open to the signs and don't doubt your pet. You doubt yourself, but let you pick come on down. What's our next one? What do we have? I got this whole things just ringing over here. All right. Our next question. I've often heard people say that a soul may need help crossing over is this the case with pets. Nope. Nope. Nope. Why? Because every soul has their own journey and all the soul has to do is slip out of its pet suit or human suit, and then crossed the line. And then go to all there is and the thing that just frustrates me. So much is everybody says is my pet, okay? On the other side. Yeah. The minute they get out of their pets. Does he need to heal over there is Saif over there? So the one thing I want everybody to know. He's ok he loves you. He's fine. He's waiting for you. That's right. You to talk to him. Let him know that you're glad he's alive and well on this new journey, and I know when you're in the middle of grief, that's a hard thing to do. But a pet does not need help in crossing over..

"Satisfying a day like today must have been for Simion mobile leverage to see Bruce or get his turn in the barrel like this, right? You can imagine how delightful that was for the Russian mafia. You can imagine what a nice turn of events today. West have been when viewed from the perspective of the Kremlin. We'll be right back. This is primary night and three states pulls of now closed in Florida and Oklahoma. They remain open until the top of the hour in Arizona, despite problems at dozens of Zona polling locations, including problems that prevented polls from opening up on time. We're going to have a little more on that controversy coming up later on tonight, but the big issue, excuse me. The big news tonight right now is coming out of Florida. Florida has an elected a democratic governor in twenty four years. But tonight we've just witnessed an upset in a very competitive primary on the democratic side of the Florida governor's race. For more. We turn to NBC and MSNBC national political correspondent Steve Kornacki, Mr. Carnegie, what is happening in Florida. This is a shocker. His name is Andrew gillum. Ease the mayor of Tallahassee. He laid ino- polls coming into tonight. I don't think he was in second place in a single poll coming into tonight. And yet, Andrew gillum is now the democratic nominee for governor of Florida. He is upset. The front runner in this race, Quin Graham former congresswoman, this a famous name in Florida. Her father was a governor, a US Senator. What happened? Andrew gillum. He was endorsed by the way. What does he represent? Theologically? He was endorsed by Bernie Sanders and the home stretch of this campaign. If you can place him a little bit the mayor of Tallahassee. So what happened though? A couple things to explain this number one. Obviously he did well in his base here, but here go down to south Florida. Check this out. We're following this all night. What really powered Gillam Broward County here. You see, he ran up the score. This is not as home region in the state in Gwen. Graham did terribly down here. Graham was supposed to hold her own, do better up by your base instead Gillam just ran up the score here also go down to Miami Dade. This is Phil LeVine, third candidate in the race. This is home base Gillam winning this outright. Again, Graham finishing very, very distant third there. So Graham got crushed in south Florida here. Gillam did very well down there. He also did very well. In Orlando. He did look at this. This is Tampa Hillsborough county. He's actually going to win that they're over Gwen grim that wasn't supposed to happen, big margin, vermin Jacksonville. And then how about this Quinn Graham? This is her home base, and this is where that congressional district she represented was the panhandle there in Florida. She was supposed to run up the score here. You can see this gillen's color here this dark bull. You see some of those counties, he won outright others. He was competitive in. So all around this is just a shocking performance in what it does is it sets up a very interesting general election here..

"What was the budget and schedule for dark land. The this, you know, the biggest Danish film would be considered the low budgets US film. This was a low budget Danish film. So I think we, we did this for. Maybe maybe two million dollars maybe lays dollars or euros dollars. Okay. Wow, maybe less. It's great. All went up on the screen looks awesome. And what was the schedule? How how long did that by you to to shoot? We shot for six weeks. Okay. When you when you do your fighting, do you do your own stunts or do you mix and match as to which done? She'll do. I'm mixing match. I, you know, we did our own. We our own fights, and we did a. It was important to me that everything that say did was in line with his character, otherwise you'd lose him. And so it was important for me that he, for instance, he didn't show any emotion unless he was alone. So he didn't show anything before the wife fell asleep, or he sent her, nor even when the nurse comes in, he just doesn't want to show emotion. And at the same time when he fights, he doesn't like the stuntman was suggest, jump on the wall and then Kikkoman them like, why would he? He's, it's too flashy, Stu flashy. So what say superpower was that he just didn't give up. He would always get back up. So these other things that I influenced the fighting with in may those kind of decisions when somebody had to get thrown through the things that you know break, we called in the stuntman. What was what was your most difficult son? What was the one that was that was the toughest for you to to pull off. It was the final fight with the alley because Al easy. You know, he's a great guy, but he just, you know, he, he wings it and anybody who has been on a film said, knows that just not the way to to do it. So the flight was semi-in. Yeah, with Simion. Yeah. So he so that was a tough fight. I hit the one that the uppercut when I hit his nose actually do hit his nose and he. Pushed one of my ribs and stuff. So that was a tough. That was a tough thing that the shot were. You kick him through the window day, he died. This is. Too bad RIP. That was that was an incredible shot. I mean, that was because the camera tracks through the window with them and you see him fall straight down onto the pavement. Tell us about the setup for that shot and how they did it. I would guess in stages I cannot give you the specifics other than to say that cast buttocks who shot the film is one of the world's greatest DOP's and he works here as well. And and he's just he's a ninja. He's an injury and he can make anything look amazing. And you know he, he uses the news technology and at the same time he would use, what do you call it a hanger for right close. And he just builds something with a mirror and he puts it together and it was it was a green screened, kicking him out of the window and having him fall no-no. Somebody owes wires, wired. Yeah, wow. The stunt panel is wired so is probably done at a different frame rates. So it seemed like he was falling fast, but it was slow MO, I would guess. You. I can't answer that. I mean, it was beautiful to snuff through. It's an essay. It was beautiful. The other, the other really kind of terrain, but awkward fight that you had was with Bronco in the front seat of the car. We're, you're laying down and having your I pushed in, well, we're the logistical challenges of that. Well, the logistical challenges was the guy was actually punching me in the face because he's never done a movie before out. That's bad. But you know is this Bronco is actually a very big rap star in Denmark, and he's he's a very good rapper, but he he's a true rapper. So he doesn't, you know, he needs maybe a drink before the we start shooting because of his nerves, and so is very interesting to be cramped in a in a car like that. But we wanted it to be like that..

Man, was injured police said he suffered injuries not believed to be life-threatening just over two hours, after the four men were shot broad? Daylight Saturday afternoon twenty five year old man was shot and wounded near thirty sixth and Clark police say suffered a great wound and was driven to the hospital fortunately all of those who were, shot in Milwaukee are expected to survive not so in Chicago are you ready for this If I asked you how many people were shot in Chicago this weekend what would. You say Armand thirty forty Unfortunately I'd, say thirty thirty five? Seventy four yes One of, the most violent weekends of the year in Chicago this according to the, Chicago Tribune, a seven hour period early Sunday morning soft forty different people shot in city limits. Between three PM Friday and six. AM this morning, eleven people, were killed and sixty three were injured their ages spend it for. A span from eleven to sixty two years old and most of those shot were attacked on the, south and west sides. Of Chicago as a Friday at least seventeen hundred people have been shot in the city this year fewer than the last two years at this. Time when, violence at record levels, in the city but well above other recent years there have been at least three hundred, homicides according to data, compiled by the Chicago Tribune six of the shootings this. Weekend, injured four or more people think about. That There, were six different shootings that were quadruple shootings at least Right yeah oh yeah yeah how can how can they devote police attention to anything other than homicides or or shooting. You think about the the strain that this puts on hospitals and one thing that I have desperately tried to delve into is the reason I think a major. Reason that our homicide rate in Chicago in Milwaukee really nationwide a major reason that it's, been going down is, not necessarily that we've had fewer shootings but that trauma surgeons ER surgeons and medical staff searches that much better at treating gunshot wounds and. That in the last twenty five thirty thirty five forty years we have just gotten so much better in medical care that we can save people who otherwise would have been killed by these shootings that leave people. In critical, condition would have resulted in them dying generation ago, for example Ben Ben Simmons who is the great. Ben Ben, Chicago basketball player Ben Wilson Benji Wilson I constantly go back. To that story and like. Nineteen eighty I think it. Was. Eighty, five. Eighty. Five years the top high school basketball player in the country this kid was going to be a superstar well it was like the first day of. The basketball season his senior year he was at Simion high school in Chicago which is a massive basketball powerhouse in and right he's the reason that every superstar. Including Jabari Parker the former buck whereas number twenty five it's in his honor the best, player on the team, always wears number twenty five it's a great honor in in Benji Wilson's well there there's a great thirty for thirty ESPN documentary on him. In which he was taken to a hospital and he was he basically sat there and bled out I mean there was no immediate trauma surgery now in two thousand eighteen that's not going to happen Ben Wilson. Is probably Going to survive that gunshot. Wound in this was sort of emblematic of how gunshot wounds and all violence was all traumatic injuries were treated back then it was you would wait, well now, we know. About the prioritization of life threatening injuries all that sort of. Stuff we had just have much better techniques much. Better equipment and doctors who are sadly far more. Familiar with how to treat gunshot wounds nurses. And, physicians assistant says well it's just a sad sad state of affairs that. You get this much violence in a couple, of cities well you know what I'll tell you. What let's let's focus on some happy stuff state fair is going. On right now we, got a four pack..
