"It's hard because I hear a lot of people say you should create a business that is transferable from one post to the next, but at the same time in the back of my mind, I'm like, it may not look the same. I'm still working for this goal, but I'm also still trying to figure out what this looks like. From post to post. I imagine it's very different than the things that made you successful when you were being a photographer in Chicago because a lot of that is word of mouth and community references and stuff. And if you're looking ahead now, you're probably thinking, well, what happens when we move again? I think that's a thing all of us EFM business owners face. So is it worth it? I mean, I know you're in the first few days, essentially, of this new venture. But do you think it's worth it? Do you have a feeling of identity in your own right because of this business that you're starting? I do. I love it. And I don't think I would go back now to doing anything else. I have actually been able to do a few photo sessions here. For a couple American expat families and it has been such a joy to be able to just get behind the camera and capture life for them capture their joy of their newborn baby or I have a couple that just got engaged and just being able to see their faces light up when they look at each other. It just reminds me that this is I'm doing this because I love it and making a difference in people's lives. So that is, you know, the biggest thing for me and I love I still love doing what I'm doing. And I just got to figure out the business side of things. So I guess as a creative, what are kind of your dream goals? What are the places you would like to also photograph in? Oh my goodness. I have a whole list. So, you know, I think there's a lot of dream destination places that a lot of couples go to for their photographs. Being close to Tanzania right now Zanzibar is a big one on my list. And so trying to network and I've actually networked and met other wedding planners down there and they are so excited to work with me. And I've actually gotten a couple inquiries, but I've had to put them on hold because I'm waiting for work permit stuff to come through. So things like that are can be challenging, but there's a whole list of places from South Africa to Europe and beyond. So anywhere that a couple is willing to go, I will go with them. They just have to pay for my food and travel and I will be there and I will take their pictures and they'll be a memorable experience. That sounds lovely. I wish I had such a great relationship with my photographer when I got married. So you've given us some of the struggles of getting the business together and making sure that all the legal stuff is in place. You've told us about why it's been a joy. What advice would you give to other newbies who are just starting out with.

"Your experience in one country necessarily to know that your business will be approved in a future country. I have previously had the opportunity to work with anybody on the local economy, but in my current country, I can only work with people who are in the diplomatic community with other certain restrictions. So every community is different. I guess since you've had this business now for a few months and you previously had another business, had your ups and down moments, all those kinds of things. One of the questions I like to ask is, what have you learned about yourself from being a business owner? What are the challenges? How are you overcoming them? Are you the hero in your own eyes now that you would like to be? Yes and no. I think taking these steps is pretty brave. And I think I've learned that about myself that I'm braver than I thought. And, you know, it sounds so easy because you see these I fell out a lot of international photographers. And I'm like, oh, they're doing it. I can do it too. But I'm also in this different. Hurdle against me. I don't know if hurdles are right word, but being an EFM, there's just a little bit more of a process that you have to go through. And so I think I've had this goal and vision in my mind of what I want this to look like. And I have to remember myself, but it's not going to happen overnight. I have to remember that everything happens and its own timeline. Like success, you have to work at it and it's so easy to compare myself to others. To say, well, they figured it out. Why can't I? But remembering that it's through hard work, it's through being brave and learning and researching the things that I don't know. So the marketing side of my business that obviously the creative the photography side, working with clients, I can do that part, the part that's really hard and challenging for me right now is kind of like this weird legal work of permit trying to figure out all the admin stuff with banking and is this legal if I use a bank in the states but transact here. So all those things that I really don't want to deal with because I'm a creative, but knowing I have to, because I am running this business,.

"That sounds like actually a much more direct path than I would have thought because you came from this creative background, you know, kind of eased into it over time. You pursued it, passionately, and then took some time off. I love it. It sounds very, very direct in a way that a lot of EFM careers aren't. So this is kind of fun. I guess one of the things you just hinted at was this idea of having to start an LLC, have there been challenges about owning a business as an EFM that are different from the challenges you had when you were starting up in Chicago. Yes. In a way, I did have to start over because I was changing my name from amber Renee design to amber Silva photography. And I also had to think about an address. You know, with being in the foreign service, you don't necessarily always have a home address back in the states. So I was actually using my parents address and then I had to think about kind of like the legal stuff, will this be functional and other country? Will they accept LLCs? And so yeah, that's so one of the other questions I guess is EFM are probably a lot of our listener EFM are thinking, maybe I want to start a business. You know, if I do all these things, I get my LLC. I get started. I have an idea. I'm really excited to go. Are there requirements for me being just any of them? What are the limitations or things that I need to think about that another expat might not have to think about? This is something I'm still learning as well because this is really the first time that I'm really running a business overseas as a EFM as part of the under the chief of mission, so I had to learn it ask questions along the way. And the one a few things I would say would be just making sure you know what the rules are. And the regulations are at your post and for that country as well. So one thing I didn't know beforehand was looking researching the work permits in Kenya I kind of did but I didn't really do it in depth and I just thought like, oh, once I get here, I'll figure it out. And then also knowing what the requirements were from the chief of the mission community. So from the embassy, what is what their roles and regulations are for EFM businesses, what maybe approval, you need or all those things. And there's a group on Facebook that has been really helpful. I think it's actually where I met you, Lauren. And so just being able to ask questions in those groups has been really helpful. I find those groups invaluable to. I have noticed running my own business that the requirements for EFM businesses are different in every country. So you can't use.

"Yeah, that's a great question. I have always had a hobby of photography, started when I was young, and then in college, I decided that I should probably major in something that might make a little bit of money. It was what my mom told me. And so I actually went into graphic design. So very similar creative field, and I actually ended up not using graphic design because in college, I decided that I liked education. So I started done that path and I actually got a masters in higher education. And all at the same time, I was shooting weddings for friends and I was doing a portrait for friends just on the side. And it wasn't until really this when we and my husband started with the State Department that we decided to pursue what this looked like further as a career. And so I started working I started I made my own LLC in the photography. It was under a different name, actually, and then I shot weddings in North Carolina and Chicago and I was starting to really get into the Chicago wedding photography scene, had a big role in that industry, and then we kind of uprooted to manager and at the same time, I was having kids, so we had our first daughter. And so things kind of took a backseat in the year. There's not a lot of opportunities for wedding photography and so I kind of took a back seat on that. I volunteered and actually taught at a school using my education degree. And then towards the end of that tour, when we find out we were coming to Kenya, we decided that this was something that I decided that this was something that I'd love just doing. And that we could try and see if this could be a portable career. Doing weddings and portraits for expats in for locals here in Kenya and hopefully starting to get into international photography as.

"Most of our episodes here on available worldwide have focused on people who have already achieved portable career success. But what's it like to get started? Today we're in the trenches of getting your portable business off the ground with my guest amber Silva, who's starting an expat photography business in East Africa. I'm here today with amber Silva, who has just started the first stages of her new business, amber, what is the name of your business and what do you do there? I am a photographer and I own my own business. It's amber Silva photography. Pretty easy to remember. Where are you at right now? So right now I am in Nairobi, Kenya. I just moved here about two and a half months ago. And is anybody else there with you? Yes. So traveling with my husband of 9 years and our two daughters, we have a three year old and a one year old. No pets? No, no pets. We actually dog sitting right now and I'm realizing why I am thankful we don't have pets because it's a lot of work. And before Kenya, have you been in the foreign service previously? What other countries have you been in? Yes, so we started this journey in 2016. And we were first assigned stateside out of the field office in Chicago. So we were there for a couple of years. And then we started the international rotations and our first post overseas was in Niger. And we were there for two and a half years. And now we have arrived in Kenya to start this journey here. Well, I think those of us in the know know that usually the foreign service house is in Africa are pretty large. So is there anything that you've brought with you that might be a little bit impractical, but you've really loved having with you? I would say books, we have a lot of books and we somehow keep cutting down on books every time we move. But there are books that are near and dear to our hearts and although we've never we may never read back through them fully, they're still there. And they've actually been great conversation starters with guests when we have them over and they see our bookshelf so that would be one of the things that we impractical but you love it anyway. Exactly, yes. And where you've told us you're a photographer and I think photographer is one of those portable career options that they're always suggesting that take up. But I'm guessing it takes a little bit more than just motivation and having a camera to really get started on being a photographer. So were you a photographer before you moved to Brad or did you take it up seriously in order to create your own portable career?.

The under on twenty two on fan bill for the texans team total Because they just they're going to struggle to move the ball all year. They're offensive line is average at best. You know tyrod taylor. Will Brunson's Frustration Affect Him Against Till?

"Brunson's very consistent but with those consistencies. He has consistently had a problem with a striker. He can't take down. Brunson gets frustrated. I know it because it was the problem in my career. So i can see what other guys have it when they have the same problem. I can see it if brunson comes out in his game plan is to take you down and he fails to take you down. He gets frustrated and things unravel very quickly. If you go see also too great fights if you wanna go back right if you're betting on this fight to great ones to see before you form your opinion anderson silva vs derek brunson derek. Brunson beat anderson silva. He lost the decision. He won the fight one of those nights. But he's in there with a great striker anderson. Brunson was successfully getting down at least part of the time so he didn't get frustrated his plan that he came in there with work at least part of the time it was enough to march him forward through fifteen minutes. The decision is history. The opposite happened when brunson oughta sonya he knew the blueprint he knew very clearly. I must take a sonya down and so did the rest of us because it was on the heels of artists on your inventory were vittori did take him down held them. They're frustrated oughta sonya so brunson knows what he needs to do when he failed to sign. You got his hips away. Got under kept him back on the feet. Brunson got frustrated. So it's it's one of those deals because in many ways this is the same fight it is till a striker. And he's great at it and he's weird. He's a very awkward approach. He twists the hips. He keeps his hands down. He goes southpaw. he goes orthodox. He looks like he's gonna kick when he's punching. He looks like he's gonna punch when he kicks. He's awkward adds to effectiveness. Good news for brunson even though it's the first time he's fighting till it's not the first time he's fought that awkward style. Okay we are going to have a long fight. I don't close my eyes and invention away that brunson gets till out of there. I can see ways that till stops brunson. I can see where till hurts it. But they're unlikely you're going to have a long drawn out contest and brunson has always impressed me with his ability to compete the harder the rounds get the more he's gotta dig the more grind and grimy gets he seems to rise to. I think that's the kind of fight that he's going to have picking

"Three minute hasn't been in their toll of five minutes possible miss. What does this fight offer. What is this five four. Why are we going out and doing this. I trust at once. That question is answered. It's going to be very simple. We don't need an in depth psychological review here. We just need an answer. That's all is there about competitions about getting healthy is about staying the shape remember. Bj penn sticking around for a while but bj was telling people. I'm getting distracted. May keep me in this great. We get it. We know the answer. Very simple very straightforward. Wasn't anything mind blowing. I don't suggest for you that this needs to be or that. The answer is i'm still stuck. If this is a personal grudge help took you. Two boys seventeen years to figure out why is robbing never called for nick and nick has never called for robbie. So don't try to sell me on. Some kind of of personal grudge when it add up this about rankings and containership got my attention. I'm listening. I don't care what robbie lawler is. Ranked wanna know where to find it. Don't know if even is he's a former world champion it matters so that's the journey that nick is on. I love to hear. But it's still one of these things were intel. That question gets answers and a few of these are are floating out there a few of these things that are just tough to make sense of particularly at one hundred seventy pounds whereas leon going to go. What do you do with gilbert burns. What happens to wonderboy stock. What is bosnian. All going to do next is covington fighting uis men. What is the delay on that announcement by the way. Kobe says they're fighting. Boozman doesn't disagree. Dana says we want to not signed. But there's some kind of answer right. Something is holding those things up. I remember the first time. I heard that kobe was gonna fight. Kamara was in november of last year and as soon as we got off of that was going to be kobe versus mazda. They even going to do the ultimate fire. Just something's happening. There is happening at one. Seventy we know that shemaya coming back. That's going to be in meaningful fashion. He's got to get one out of the ways gotta show that everything's behind him right everything that cost him in the last eight. Ten months is all behind him. He's now switched management teams. What does that mean if anything right. He just got a dj. Gotta do you gotta come out and show and do something. So let's take a second to transition from mma to the world of boxing where some rumors of another potential mega fight are beginning to swirl logan paul versus anderson silva. It sounds as though this is the direction they're going but vegas is now. Come out with a line on it. If that matches to take place logan's the favourite. Does that surprise you guys. That doesn't sound right to me. Logan paul is the favourite to beat anderson silva logan. Just lost to floyd anderson just beat chavez. I think that really helps anderson stock and fairness nobody knew if he could go in there and bach. Chavez's a real fighter he's knucklehead and he's got his own his own issues with training but he's a real fight he's a real boxer for sure anderson beat them in his home town went to a decision. I didn't get to see the match. But imagine how badly anderson would've had to beat him to have the judges give him the decision. I often the filthy sport of boxing. But secondly in shove as juniors hometown anderson must have really put it on this guy so if you say that logan is going to anderson which is what the lines have it right now. You're saying that logan could beat chavez junior. Does that sound weird anybody right. I mean. I think that the polls have proved tough. Guys they take it serious. They go up there. They train hard him. And i think they've proved whole lot of things. I don't know of logan's ever wanna fight. I'm not trying to be a dick right now. I thought he had a draw over in england right member when he followed the or did they go to a draw or even he lost and then you had the fight with four..

A completely one off package not part of any thing else aren't let's get into it. You could use underdog average draft position. Adp for this exercise. I'm gonna go through player by player and we're gonna talk about them. We're gonna introduce where we would have them. Our personal i rounds christian. Mccaffrey obviously number. One in. Eighty p underdog. Don't want to spend a lot of time last year. I'll just say this. In three games that christian mccaffrey played last year. Eight twenty five thirty seven draftkings points and he left to those games early due to injury in twenty nineteen. He finished one hundred. Twenty points clear of any other running back. And that was with teddy bridgewater and kyle allen kind of lay career cam as his quarterback. I think it's pretty insane. Not to take christian. Mccaffrey at number one overall. If you have that pick the sam darnold. Criticisms don't really hold water with me christian. Mccaffrey obvious for me number. One overall pick evan. Any disagreement any takes on. Cmc know the year before last christian. Mccaffrey outscored the next closest. Running back in pr scoring dobbin cook by nine points per game and then last year christian mccaffrey played in three games in this new. Or what new. Joe brady offense. And he finishes the rb to overall rb five overall and rb to overall in those three weeks. There really was no lessening of his role. Now he's even has less in-house competition. Mike davis is gone to atlanta. It looks like chaba hubbard. A fourth round rookie will be the the number. Two back there over christian. Mccaffrey is last sixteen games. he's got over. Twenty three hundred yards from scrimmage twenty two all purpose touchdowns and caught one hundred eighteen passes. You just turned twenty five years old in june. i don't think that there is a single fancy format. Even weird ones were christian. Mccaffrey shouldn't be the number one. Overall pick this year totally agree. Okay and number two. I think it's a no brainer. Also davin cook number two overall. Adp number two on my board in all formats has had a bunch of injuries in his career but men really really insane efficiency and really really strong past game role and add the vikings offensive line. Editions they'd put a lot of draft capital in the offense twenty third overall christian song. Twenty twenty one. Why davis round three and two thousand twenty round two in twenty twenty as cleveland between nineteen round. One gary bradberry. I could see all four of those guys starting for the vikings this year. So i mean really good offensive line could be really good offensive line and dobbins just been doing no matter. What so. I think no brainer. Dobbin cook pasquin role red zone role. Everything for cook no-brainer number. Two for me you. Yeah as you mentioned dovan cocaine had a lot of injuries and surgeries over the course of his career even going back to florida state of bolivia to shoulder surgeries in college before entering the league is not played more than fourteen games in an nfl. Seizing with that said. I'm kind of looking at this off season as a nice one for him. Because there's been no news there'd been no surgeries. There have been no injuries like the healthiest season that he's experienced maybe since college since maybe early college career he. He's he's still only twenty six. He showed last year that he could handle a true work of three hundred fifty six touches and he still was efficient. He averaged a career high five arts per carry. only derrick. Henry gained more yards after contact than dalvin cook. As you mentioned the vikings for once finally looks like a young and promising offensive line. And you know. We've been bullish on the vikings win. Total over for months since very very early in the offseason. We think that their defense is going to rebound. We think that their offense has a pretty nice floor. I think kirk cousins is a solid starter. Justin jefferson step. Forward is already a top five receiver in the league. Adam phelan rock-solid. We're looking at a at a step forward. Another step forward for irv smith so and especially if aaron rodgers doesn't come back i mean. Vikings are gonna win the division. I think if aaron rodgers doesn't come back yellow and all that adds up to two positive game. Script for alvin..

Fast in Queen is an inherited title, I feel but you still rule by love and power. So but while while having the Dodge title goodness, kindness kindness in September 2020, you co-authored a paper announcing possible presence of phosphine in the atmosphere of Venus Earth and that it may be a signature of extraterrestrial life like maybe big, maybe there was some pushback. Of course from the scientific community that followed friendly loving push back. Then in January another paper from University of Wisconsin, I believe confirm the finding dead. So where do we stand in the Saga? In this mystery of? What the heck is going on on Venus in terms of fostering, in terms of aliens? Let's try and break it down, okay? The short answer is, we don't know. I think you and the rest of the public are now witnessing pretty exciting Discovery but as long involves as it unfolds, we did not wait until we had, you know, years of data. From ten different instruments across several layers. The atmosphere we waited until we had two telescopes with independent data months apart, but still, the date is week, it's noisy home delicate. It's very much at the edge of instrument sensibility just a petit and so we still don't even know if it is fostering. We don't even really know if the signal is real, people still talk about that.

If you know the fivethirtyeight forecasts Perhaps if you follow electoral politics or you. Just use their forecast for nba championships. Whatever it may be tennis abstracts the place to go for tennis forecasts. You look at the women's singles draw forecast coming in to this round of sixteen eagles. Fan tech is a clear favourite via the their formula to win the event. She has a twenty seven point. Six percent chance of winning that of course is based on her elo rating. She's in up there with bardi and halif and terms at the top clay-court specific yellow ribbon. She's also thirty eight now in her last fifty two matches coming in second place. Well there's been some changes now. Because i'm not gonna lie. I'm recording this friday morning. And so i know some of the results that happened currently in second right now the only other player in double digits is a lean fit alina at ten point. Nine percent chance. You've got cocoa goth at nine point. Six you've got. You know serena only one point eight. It's actually vico with a five point nine and that's the highest in that section. Actually scratch that politics dosa who has been excellent. This season nine percent chance she would technically be fourth and again that top four via their forecast schon tech spit alina goff but dosa i mean i think we all would agree. "So i'm very optimistic about about the cowboys offense bouncing back in. I think that some people might Might let recency bias effect them as to how they perceive this offense a little bit. And maybe we can get some of these guys at a little bit of a discount. Zeke elliott though is the Is going to be the big question. Mark i don't know i don't know is his career. You know going kind of circling the drain at this point. Are they going to give tony pollard. More work mean twenty can play. So he'll he'll be the big question mark. But i i'm pretty confident in the kabul passing game rebounding big time. Well there is no debate that tony pollard has more juice than zeke elliott at this stage of their career. Now zeke's good pass catcher good blocker you know a good run between the tackles but may just watch the games. I mean there's just policy got more juice than zeke does last one. I wanted to ask you about evan. Ben roethlisberger in pittsburgh full year now removed from the elbow surgery. It appears to be his last year. You'd like to think he'll be in great shape. You'd like to think that he'll actually be able to throw off season as opposed to just showing up at training camp and barely doing anything. Is he relevant from a fancy perspective number one and then number two. What does it mean for the other skill guys in pittsburgh. Yeah i mean he's not going to be ranked high anywhere including by me. You know you got worse. The more play. I remember i was actually listening to you on westwood one. I think you're the the color guy on on a certain. Was it against the bill. I think yeah and you were and i was. I was in my car. I think i was driving to saint louis or or back to chicago or something like that. Saint louis where my family lives and and you were just harping on it. That a ben looks like you know like the the the ball is not coming out of his hand right. he wasn't throwing with velocity. He's never been the most mobile guys. Been functionally mobile in the pocket but certainly not a guy who adds ads much in terms of like positive rushing yards and he got worse as the season progressed. And that's a little bit scary. I think the offensive line is not remotely what it used to be I don't know if alley villanueva's going to be back i. The offense is is is pretty is worrisome. I mean they were and they were so one dimensional last year like in like they didn't even have but entities and they didn't have dimensions in their passing name. Everything was short diontae johnson. Just catching little you know. Little little dump routes in the middle of the field and T chase claypool wasn't involved enough down the stretch I i'm not too optimistic. About ben honestly and but i. I would like to be optimistic. Because i love chase claypool talent. I think the diontae johnson when he's not dropping balls like like he did in some of those games down the stretch. I think he can be really good too. And i think the james washington can be a fine role player. I don't think juju can be back. But yeah i i. I'd be very concerned about ben. Well i'm not concerned about evans silva here's a total stud check him out on twitter at evans silva certainly check out. His website established the run dot com. It is fantastic. Brazil’s Ex-President ‘Lula’ May Run for Office Again as Court Cases Are Tossed

"Right president gyroball sonar. Oh is under growing pressure over his response to the pandemic. Now he's facing trouble of a different kind. Supreme Court judges rolled ball scenarios. Political nemesis can run against him in next year's election. Former leftist president Louis in a CEO Lula da Silva was banned from running. Louis and ASIO. Lula da Silva was banned. Louis and ASIO Lulu DeSilva was banned from running in 2018 because he was convicted of corruption. But this new rolling means the Selva, widely known as Lula could have a shot at getting his old job back. We're joined now by NPR's South America correspondent Philip Reeves. Well, what exactly did the judge rule? Well, I don't know whether you remember this. A couple of years ago, Long after leaving office, Lula was convicted of corruption budges. He wound up serving 18 months in jail. Hey, and his supporters always said these charges were politically motivated. Stop him running in the last election in 2018, which they did That's allowing both Salah Toto win yesterday, a Supreme Court judge. Another of those convictions, he decided the court in southern Brazil that bride Lula had no jurisdiction to do so. He ruled the cases should be tried over again by federal court in the capital, Brasilia. And that means that Lula gets his political rights back, at least for now, and therefore, really much to everyone's surprise. He qualifies to be a candidate in next year's president elect presidential elections and can challenge full sooner.

Louis lula da silva has been cleared by a supreme court judge of the corruption charges which saw him serve an eighteen month stretch in prison a few years back. The decision is not a complete acquittal beak the court which tried lula was acting outside its jurisdiction and the matter remains to be considered by the supreme court entire but until or unless that happens. Late Leipzig Victory Heats up Title Race

"We'll stop in the bundesliga. We thought no leipzig get thrown away. The opportunity to keep pushing by munich. There were two knelt down halftime against borussia moenchengladbach but a brilliant second half performance and a late goal from soil with see them beat god back by three goals to to to continue to put the pressure on bind at the top of the table. Janocko fuel itself is with us yet. Thank goodness we still have a title race. Just thank goodness to halftime. There was so many analyzes marker also sorting out gladbach. There will be calm now before he takes over. And then livesey made the bundesliga excited for two minutes with the irony at halftime. But thank god. Thank god for everybody. Neutral love love the bundesliga. There was fantastic. Second half of our show and they slowly came back. Glad back more tired had some chances on contracts but policy and kuku and solo there so many attackers. It's lives. You haven't score enough goals after chicken and van left them after last season but they produce tonight and we haven't excitement we have. We have a tight race in germany. Dan could you imagine. Say those words. I know i don't know very much unlikely. After the to say bad in the first half. Yeah yeah their web bad but but say having said that. I mean they had a ball the lot. They didn't create a lot gluck. Unbelievable efficient mcconnell had one of those half where look like the most clumps defender being around after being the most attractive defender around and toronto and half on peres demanded to nil and everything look like well typical vion after their gala show earlier on the day and now we have this situation fribourg against lives on friday if they win that top of the league at least for twenty four hours then the big game between via munich endorsements says you mentioned yance still two point separates vine and live sick. Let's switch attention to that wind show for buying a day. They were certainly facts that the way this game ended you. They could just keep scoring. Every few minutes on the will keep on scoring. I mean live on dose keno. Getting closer to that magic gaffe miller torty goals in a season scoring two goals today but there was a whole wasn't ed when they played their home three three losing in frankfurt against eintracht. And then they're back to the norm. Winning high in champions league winning five one against cologne. it's not like five or six goals better than them on the page but they just so efficient gerrad sky. Think a ended up with three assists. Today nabu just scoring for fun. Uneven ship matang scoring so i mean by will be all the way of the understatement of the nights at just into content main if levin dusky reaches at forty gaumont. It's unbelievable because then you compare yourself with the best goal Of all time and yes you could say the by a munich was fantastic. But you can say the same about this team. I mean we are talking about whole on emba- pay silva or were all these goalscoring sensations around europe the moment but levin dose gays to complete striker but the the goal getter part of his game is unbelievable to he's hungry and passionate for goals is unbelievable and you saw the way to the goals. Today you had a you finally got. Thomas miller on to fourteen seconds to make an assist for him. I just turned around. He knows all the time where where he is on the full patriots and if he beats the record i still doubted but he's getting closer meanwhile bruce feldman turning on in the second half in proved to be a comfortable win in the end. I'll tell you what twenty twenty one jaden sanitary. It's very different than twenty. Two thousand nine hundred and sounds like christmas press the reset. Button is incredible. Twenty twenty cents show. At least the half of it was very influenced with all that happened around us some monsters united being on the phone all the time. Hundred and twenty million hundred million europe but now he's on fire and the way he's playing at the moment he's playing with all his strength all the passionate he's running all the time he's body. Language is turn like hundred and eighty degrees unbelievable. I also today. I a writer who scored that goal. And i think that that sums up the way dole put his playing at the moment ailing all on. I'm not sorry. Putting in northern region after solo scored for for leipzig later tonight. But but then allen all on one against one against goalkeeper typically get up. We'll try himself. Just give it the ball away. And i think that sums up that door at the moment. They won three games in a row. Intense being under pressure as being a lame duck after the appointment of mark but they are back on track another only three points behind eintracht frankfurt for that very very valuable champions league place for they make it. Yeah yes. I think they will. Because i don't think well eleven games eintracht frankfurt had and with no losses i winston role. Then losing it to to bremen and as long as they can keep on winning these kind of games which has been difficult for them. They're lower teams like being felt today. They will keep on doing it but mind you next game. It's frankfurt against got. That could be a frankford. Win on there and Munich and then we can have that six points again. Because volts berg are winning games just like behind everybody under the radar of everybody of body so they could end up taking place in the bundesliga

NBA free agency: How rosters are taking shape

"The nba has scared off teams. An agents after the bogdonovich mess this week. We're not getting a whole wave of signings. Nobody yet right before we were getting ready for the nba draft the other night. We did a podcast and we talked about the bogdonovich deal. You said bogdanovich is going to have moments that will live forever he bucks. This is not what you meant. When you said that that bogdonovich would have moments that would live forever in bucks history. You did not mean that he would screw up everything with his potential signing in a trade with the milwaukee bucks this is such a an incredibly fascinating story because it all happened in the midst of the draft. This mix story comes out that an agreed to anything. And he's actually mad about this and it's like and then there's people saying i this is just a cover up so they all get in trouble but this is crazy like you have a situation where a guy worked out a deal. Three days before free agency was going to begin. We always kind of operate in the nba with a wink. Wink last year after everything that went down the nba sent memos out to everybody to really scare them and say hey. This isn't how it's going to be anymore. We got enough complaints. And we're going to change things and then within literally by the next time this comes about we have maybe the most egregious o of any of the situation that we've seen at least everybody else when they're working out their deals and they're recruiting players. They keep it quiet. This was not a quiet and in fact was out there for the world to see a deal that was not allowed to be made being made behind closed doors and then getting reported and so obviously that was just not going to happen. They were not gonna let that thing go through and now what ends up as a result is what you said. We get two free agency. Yes everybody's been working. These deals out for a week and usually or longer and usually it hits free agency and guys like whoa jr and guys like shams and even you unload the clip at five one. You know it's like this guy signed here. This guy's i near this guy sign here. It's it's very obvious that everybody's deal did not get done in one. Minute's time that deal was already agreed to and they had to wait until it could be official. Now we're not getting things announced like we usually would because everybody wants to put up the guys that the deals not worked out because of the bogdanovich crap right. Yeah i mean sure does seem like that. I just got off the phone with a team executive right before we started the podcast and and we went back and forth about that and his impression as as as as everybody else. I talked about that. It's going to be a little bit more slow moving with these deals because teams and agents have to put up this front that oh where are they going to zoom meeting after the time of free agency open like come on serious here. That's you know. I talked to somebody earlier today. Who remarked it's kind of a shame that in example is being made out of another small market team like the milwaukee bucks with this whole situation and i. I understand looking at it from that perspective. This is not the milwaukee bucks at all. They're trying to do is improved their team when they have this transcend talent once in a generation in of kumbo and they're trying to do everything possible in order to keep that player. And you know we talk all the time about stars going to big markets stars leaving small markets in an is kind of a shame that it happened that way With that slam unless you view it from one of their competitors at unless you're doing it for sure their competitors are like they're cackled about this. They're laughing but they're also there were also by all reports calling the league and saying t retail telea. Where where let's say you weren't negotiating with the guy. You were waiting until he hit restricted free agency. And then you can recruit and extend your offer sheet whatever. So let's just say let's act like some teams are playing on the up and up when that when when before. He can even be up for restricted free agency. A report comes out that the deal is done. You better believe if i was one of the bucks competitors. I'd be like yo no no. This is not like this. Is exactly what y'all sent the memo out for sure and we didn't and i didn't even get a chance to recruit this guy. I didn't even get a chance. These guys are getting deals. Done three days before free agents even starts like no screw that and so the league an inevitably has to come down on them. I mean i mean ultimately it's also probably the most egregious example considering evolves a an extension. You know john extension a new contract. Because he's a restricted free agent A sign and trade and it also involves a player you know having to have his deal guaranteed or santia silva. There's all these factors into it that you know and just the fact that it. It spreads so quickly. That night. When i when i first reported that the bugs will pursue a sign and trade with bogdan bogdonovich. The hawks are also expected to pursue a sign and trade for our rather send an offer sheet bogged down bogdonovich. You know everybody was talking about it in the league. It spread fast fast fast. And it's still clear what exactly happened. There's a lot of finger pointing from a single direction. What happened who leaked a. You know who confirmed it and all this stuff regardless something was lost in translation that night. You know like ten to midnight east coast. I'm when all that stuff really started trickling out fast. And they had a framework that was agreed to but no final agreement necessarily and so somewhere along the lines some party jumped the gun or it was portrayed as being jumped the gun but It's the the nba hat to set that example. I think i mean. I feel i feel for the bucks and i feel for smart smaller teams but it can be a problem and ultimately. I think that's probably where the league is drawing the line with what's happening there. It's just like you see those signings at six. O one right right after free agency opens five year deal. You know the brand new team. It's like really. They just negotiated this in a minute. And i'm not sure where the line should be. I'm not sure. I don't think it's enforceable. I don't think it's enforceable and so this really is just making an example of the bucks and then everybody else involved in the situation. Now he's probably gonna head somewhere else. Vince carter said earlier today on. Espn maybe atlanta. I would bet on atlanta to.

Mr was expected to serve until the end of next year, but announced suddenly he was stepping down last month, pleading poor health. There's now concerned that Japan could be about to return to what became known as revolving door politics when the country changed Prime Minister's almost every year, Rupert Wingfield Hayes reports. You see that pit shuttle get this's something No one would have predicted even a few weeks ago. 71 year old Yoshida super being proclaimed leader of Japan's all powerful Liberal Democratic Party. And by default, the country's new prime minister. Mr Sugar is not known for his charisma or his oratory. And as he made his rather ponderous victory speech, you can hear why you know anybody. Ronnie. Still cocaine. I want to break down bureaucratic divisions invested interests, he says on the blind adherence to president indication to form a cabinet that will work hard for the people. That takes a kike Agos, Cary Most Japanese, No, Mr Sugar as Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's long serving grim faced spokesman Up till now. He has always been a backroom guy. A fixer. He has none of the charm or diplomatic skills. Mr Abba used TTO win over President Donald Trump. But according to those who know him like economists and long term Tokyo resident Yes, Bacall, Mr Sugar brings other attributes to the game. Here is a man who gets up at five o'clock in the morning. Does 100 sit ups and then reads all the newspapers and by 6 30. He's starting meetings right with business people with advisers, you know, with outside economists, he absorbs like a sponge and wants to get things done for the country. He's not interested in any of the glitz or blink that comes with war nongovernment. The problem for Mr Suder. Is he has no mandate from the Japanese people. His elevation to the top job was a stitch up by L. V P. Party bosses in smoke filled back rooms. Perhaps because of that much is being made of Mr Segers Humble background. The son of a strawberry farmer, he worked in a cardboard factory to pay his way through college. He's certainly very different from most of Japan's recent prime ministers like Mr Abbott, the silent of a powerful political dynasty, but in the scheming world of Japanese politics Rashid, a circus. Humble origins could also be his undoing. According to Professor Koichi Nakano of Tokyo's Sophia University. Mr Silva comes from a humble background. He really doesn't have his own power base. You know, he doesn't belong to any faction on DH. He actually, you know, Rose to power because he was Mr B's preferred choice on the party bosses rally behind him, You know, emergency situation. But once the emergency situation is gone, and once the party bosses study realized that they're not getting all they wanted. I'm sure there's going to be past trouble. They're both from

"Jon Wertheim here. Sports illustrated tennis podcast. Let us start by pausing for a second of silence to acknowledge that this ought to be the second week of Wimbledon one of the great <hes> pinnacles of the tennis calendar. We'll have to wait till next year, but meanwhile we have a good podcast this week. Our guest is Carlos, Silva Carlos as the CEO of World Team Tennis, which has perhaps you know we'll have a twenty twenty season a little bit different, but there will be a series of sixty three matches from July twelfth to August first at the greenbrier. The resort in West Virginia where all the players and all the teams will effectively be bubbled <hes>. This is tennis's version of. Of what we're seeing, the NBA and this is a a prelude of sorts to the twenty twenty us open but world team. Tennis persists <hes> Carlos. Talks about where how and when you can see the matches, but they will be televised on a variety of networks and platforms, and World Team tennis stalwart <hes> in the sports since the early seventies will <hes> persist, so we talk with Carl's about world team tennis about staging an event amid corona where his league fits into this crazy mosaic, we call tennis and <hes> his experience <hes> with the sport as well as a former player so good conversation with a guy I've known for <hes> for a while. Here's Carlos Silva. Doing Oria I'm good I'm good. Things are good. Where are you? Where are we getting you? I'm in I live in Potomac outside of DC our. Okay so you're you're not far from. The greenbrier of these things go yet now I've been. I've been a few times over the last <hes> of the last few weeks, so yeah, it's like it's like three and a half hours from Dallas. All right, so you can, you can <hes>. You can drive that. So! Yeah, let's start there I feel like. Talking about TV shows like a succession or Ozark but tell us about season forty five. What are we expecting a year? So. I mean as you know we. We have nine teams in season forty five. We had a new expansion team in Chicago there. Unfortunately, not comply in Chicago. Sloan Stevens is anchoring that team along with her coach <hes> out Murray. and. And so yeah, we're bringing everybody. We looked at a lot of different states John in Texas Florida. Nevada California, but But West? Virginia felt good <hes>. It still feels good in the grand scheme of things was based on everything. That's happening, so we're out. We're bringing all night teams the Greenbrier, but we're GONNA. Play a complete season, and so the season will still be fourteen regular season, <hes>, seven home and seven away. If you will, which will really only consists of. You, know whatever jersey, they're wearing that day home or away. On one court right at the writing a great low stadium that the Greenbrier Scott. I was GONNA. Say I. Commend You on a not picking Florida California. Texas Arizona, you. <hes> you picked well. I guess I think other sports are going to be looking at this as a real sort of. Canary in the coalmine to use the West Virginia and. Nobody I think whether it's dope, it or whether it's the Orlando in this NBA bubble. Do you feel pressured to sort of do this? Right for world team, but also I. Suspect a lot of other sports. Outlets are going to be looking at this. Yes we feel pressure? I mean in an I. Think you're right I. Don't think it's just tennis. I think it's sport. You know all of us. I mean the one thing you may have found it to John. I've found that over the last three months. Everyone's been very collegial in. In a weather we're on white. House calls whether we were all together. I mean I talked to Jay Monahan you know about a month ago before before their season started because they were GonNa go to tech says, and he gave me some great feedback on what they were doing with testing, and so yeah, we do we. We're <HES>. We're trying to be very diligent and we're also trying every day to make sure that what we're doing. We're still analyzing it every. Every day, no as I told my team and we've told the players you know until August second when someone raises the King Trophy <hes>, we gotta be diligent every day, so we've. We've even made a few adjustments as you know we're. We're going to have <hes> five up to five hundred fans in the stadium right halls, twenty, five hundred, and originally those fans were only required to have a temperature check, but about five days ago before everything a little bit. A little crazy over last five days we decided that we would add masks in for the fans as well and so all all. All the fans will also have mass in the stadium. And you know with the way we thought about that as you can always take the masks down at feel better, but better to be a little safer so <hes>. Yeah, there's there's definitely a low pressure. I think we're up forward and I think we're going to show everyone how how we can be safe and be. Operationally smart every day. It's a five hundred fans as of today is the number you're working with. It is yeah. Yeah, and what? We got I don't know if you've ever been to that stadium, but it's a great little Horseshoe Horseshoe stadium around the court with a lower bowl at an upper bowl, and so the you'll either by a lower bowl, general admission, ticket or bowl, general admission ticket, and then every other rose blocked, and then the Oscars will social distance. Distance when you come into the stadium, so if you came John with your family, you'd be able to sit with your family. But if I came with my family, we'd sit together but I wouldn't be able to sit next to your family. We'd be six feet away and so and so that that works and we'd. We'd all at mass in the in the stance.

"I think the most fangs to that I have? Leeson is that women can't to become a pilot are an astronaut. Follow Scientific Cardia Genesis. Because it hasn't been done they think it can't be done is terrible disease part off challengers across but this challenger A. Rated believed that this challenge of Mike projects because I across all challenger so now I tried to change his ways challengers and transformed they weighing. Maury is easier to another people. Have so you're breaking down those walls so other people other housing charges that you had? Yeah Yes yes. So what gave you the strength to to just keep going when people were saying. Oh you're just the female women can't do this or pretty. I think the most spark the most part of the time is mice my motivation and I believe in God yes in. I really strong belief that Helped me part time right in my family's support me a lot -tudents especially my father. Yes my father loves. Hear me talk about stars and planets and this helped me a lot of those very proud. Yeah yes that's wonderful by but my motivation is believed that I can make some difference and especially my country. Yes in change things data. I had fast might best gifts to become anex journal. The Win I okay not. I think I can do a lot of things to them when I went to the yes I I think I can do a lot of things when I become an astronaut. I think we said astronaut We have some power to make the difference and start building a lot of things. Like a lot of technology is night dream to build Technology country yes and I think that is. This is my goal. Yes I goal was to work for the creation. Yes my goal is not only gotree space. Gotree Space Spartan Work we've Show hall yards since is data. Today she lives and change all their world. This is this is what excites me here. In Utah Korea is. Because this is what you're talking about now. Is that difference between being a really great citizen and being a change maker because you could be yourself and be determined and become an astronaut. Go to space and that's awesome but when you start being concerned for the for the wellbeing of the planet your country the you know the world and women. You're you're bringing in that concern for others and that's what makes you change maker. You see what I'm saying is okay just radiates out of you and that is that is so exciting to me. So tell us a little bit about your your play-by-play plan to get from where you are today as a student at Sweet Briar College being an astronaut who changes the world and opens up possibilities for other women in your country is very important to have bland. Because you have to be prepare in. You have to be already for different things so when I decided to become an astronaut Okay now what they need to do so I listen at three astronauts. I have had the opportunity to talk with President Astronaut astronaut Komo's in astronaut. He can America's noise and I read a lot of builders yes from Ezra melts and I might plan is is starved. My undergrad way. Shenice junior and that's Renault need is necessary to have a lot of different courses. Do become a national For example I need to become a pilot. Yes I need to take Cars dive cars. Yes I'm you to learn Russian in fraiche. Oh how is that? Because of language on the International Space to Dash Renault need to fly with Russians rockets. Yes they need to learn Russia and part of the trainees erosion too so is necessary. Hotel idea understanding a lot of engineer so aren spacing January's Course to become Yes in courses like Nassau. I some courses people Sharked courses you have similar experience diverse experience. May I ask you real quickly? What is the diving guideway? You mean under underwater divy AS ALEXA CONNECTION BETWEEN UNDERWATER DIVING. They underwrite dive experience simulation microgravity. Oh so there's that does similar similar minor in space because it's like floating. Oh Yeah I guess. Now that you mentioned see that To do diapers yes. Of course that you help you in a training to declan is really important. So it's important to have master degree and knocked her degree him too so it. I think the important thing is to start our work in these areas at NASA are private space edging to experience and so I applied to China and to the country yes in General People Cultures Different Cultures. How only the language Yes Now is a little too because I I don't speak English really well but I think I don't know what this word in English Relationship yes in to become an astronaut is really too he. You know how to get a good work in group and working in other people and along Communications should be good Jew but I think is really important because sometimes Most of the time people that were a lot of numbers. Yes physics engineered. Don't yell to have a good excuse to talk of their plunder. Sometimes they don't can't Mother people to become an astronaut in all words is very important to know. Hold to a good work in growth. Yes snow working in group people yet. It is the most important part. Yes yeah and I think Curiosity instead of judgment is very important in those situations is to Be Able to be interested in the way other people do things is really important. to to take courses on other country a really good night experience. Because you need to make a other people's other cultures other language does really important Geno. I really would like to travel all the rules. Eight countries acting wouldn't Is experienced that change a life. Yes change it really does to Change Your Life Change Your Perspective. I think yeah so. Have you visited other countries other than the United States? Very fasten quickly. Yeah ooh countries in South America. Yeah when when I went to us. Yes I need to stay so anyway. Disc- laundry yes. "While? It's really hard to explain about this. Because I was a child there is two things that I remain strongly. I saw big metropolitan in the sky. Oh yes meteor was media Risk Bryant and blue sky at M.'s. I was maybe seven or eight years old yes and I thought my God. What is the stunned it and this just noticed it noticed it yourself when pointed out to you and say look at that as I was upside at a look at this guy because I I read love blue sky and I saw Meter yes and the second thing is when Brazilian astronaut the first president astronaut marks boats arrive in the International Space Station. Yes and my father called to me see by the television so I was a child. I was eight years old. Yeah and I saw the first president astronauts arriving international space nationwide television and I thought. Oh my gosh I really want to becoming absolutely yes so I start a may be ten years old. I start a study and bolts about romy at schools that are that are A little kind of folks but I started reading in make notes about his subjects so maybe twelve years so I start made. Observations observe the stars because yes a friend of a family. My family has a framed that made a telescope on her at home to U. S. Certain stars in the mood so I started serving. We've DIS- little tells it up. As long as I decide I really want to become an as yet. You start studying either space science and face the beautiful so it sounds like if a member stating this right that the seed was planted in you because of something in the natural world that excited you and you were interested and then it sounds like your dad also may have encouraged you by inviting you to watch. The Brazilian was part of the International Space Station. Yes and then. If if I'm getting this right you were looking for materials at school and finding those rather limited but it sounds like you were the kind of learner that was sucking up every bit. You could get your hands on in terms of studying. You were finding everything you could to study and learn and take notes on. It's really exciting. I'm training twenty to twelve mile. My father puts an Internet chat home so so the Internet International Caesar Universe Universe Awesome formation. So how old were you then at that time forcing fourteen years old and very motivated young girl? It sounds like yeah Self motivated person. It sounds like yeah I in twenty twelve. I started detergents about this To try to help other students that have their steaming silence based in in. He's trying to study about this subject. So tell me about that that project that you started it sounded like that's related to exposure getting getting more materials and opportunities in the hands of students who like you might have had an interest. So was this something that you initiated on your own by yourself or did you have teachers or other people to encourage you or how did how did that? All evolve that you were involved in getting materials and resources for other students. I sucked by myself personally. Item have professor that motivated me to start the some professors open the school so I can put 'em start my project. Yes they school bug I sung by myself Fourteen years old yet years old fourteen years old. I start new our project yes. Norazam project is focused focuses all the people in the scientific dissemination by Internet or activities that. Kohl's are destroyed so I bring my Dallas Cultures Treats sold a neighborhood can see things like Total eclipse fight Son Things like this run leads. The people love to see plans by itself. So how did you get telescope? Yeah I might a friend of the family one friend building the less call her a little telescope at home in another friend. Both a telescope. Jimmy o-9 have because my father Bobst by dysphasia A very expensive but framed bolt telescope Jimmy night. So I start bringing the telescope is Cole was. Our STREETS ARE SAFE. couture centers Her senses at Sadie. Yes so that people can see the stars by. Let's call exciting. And so so that gift someone gave to you. It's like you multiplied its power by sharing it with other people of you're my passions water. That's really I just love that that that came out of you is such a young age The the hunger to learn that also hunger to share your learning. Yeah it's just beautiful. I think other people need to I thought. Oh my gosh it. People need to see the is so amazing all diss universes so beautiful. See The planets that galaxies day starts so I fought that people need to see why I love it soul Russell and try and Sparta older people to follow the scientist's careers understand why doom versus the universe. Yes and so after that I start my second Zero G Zero G. Yes Chiro G like no gravity. Oh Nice is an has similar. I start disbrow. is focused always at schools trees. Bari Children's Esteem as seeing science technology engineering math. Oh yes Us astronaut meets astronaut astronauts reply. Does I think is yes. This current or yes because the like math in physics pam scientists at schools. But I think I believe that the problem these days students don't have practice. Yes Practices Cleophas. But they students have a big interstate in understand like hard to become an astronaut are why. Saturn on has rings. Big names are of things ideas and math and physics. So why try? Teach the childrens math using astronaut Yes for curiosity Example watching a move on over serving stars by tell us coal or meets rockets by a by a little like this of our visit the airport geds and understand why they fly is physics but it is for really interesting to students students. Lack allots zillions made me. Yes so I will in our at blue roads. We like to really focus on the solutions and it's clear that you are solution. A solution area. Have you heard that term a solution areas like a visionary that creates solutions? And that's you I am curious will always say we want to celebrate solutions instead of praising the problem but sometimes it's interesting to hear Just for the for the benefit of other people if you if you came across any challenges or hurdles in bringing about your program like zero g and the one before that that I don't remember is how do you New Horizons Abacha. He relies it. So did you. Did you let across challenges or hurdles or people that say? Oh no you can't do that across a lot of Jabs so tell us a little bit about that and especially how you overcame the challenges you ran across because anytime there's a visionary like yourself It's natural to to some people to say what girl who do you think you are. You can't you can't do that. Tiny little fourteen year old so tell us about kind of the story of any challenges you had to overcome to across a lot of challenges Yes goes I might others. They older students don't understand me and I'll fraternally Officers also not understand me. In what way do they not understand? They don't understand that it's important. It also are what I always listen questions like why you want to become a national design false volume up. Strange Bang Restaurant Dream Roy. Why you want to go to his base things.
