Where Will DeMarcus Cousins End Up?

"Brings me to the demarcus cousins story. Out of houston. It's a strange story cousins having a solid year on a non-guaranteed deal february. Twenty seventh is when non-guaranteed deals either have to be guaranteed for the rest of the season or the player has to be released on friday. It was guaranteed early by the houston rockets. Then on saturday the reports that houston was gonna release him. Okay everyone said you know what they're doing. Demarcus cousins right teams agents around the league see moves like that where you pay a player for his time and people respect it so i start reading stories about demarcus cousins and why he struggled a little bit in houston defensively. How he's not part of the future on the athletic that totally mates sense. But that on sunday. When everybody's thinking is he gonna. The link is going to the nets. Well rockets coach. Stephen silas was asked. Is marcus cousins with the team. Is he leaving the team. Note here and he's going to be here for the foreseeable future so it sure looks like the rockets will release him at some point if they can't get an asset back in trade that can't get a second round pick back for demarcus cousins from whether it's the nets or the lakers but i think he will be joining another team and i for one think it should be the lakers. I think he'll get exposed on the nets because they're not a great defensive team and they will want him to be something really good defensively something which he isn't at this point he'll get exposed like to switch a lot. He'll just be out on an island way too much while with the lakers. They're already a good defensive team. They won't ask him to do too much and he was there last year so i think he can take a bit of a lesser role and be okay with that and they can get him the ring that he should have got before they released him last season l. A.'s the better option for me.

Examining The Diplomatic Deal Between Israel, United Arab Emirates

"Newly established diplomatic ties between Israel and the United Arab Emirates are having an effect. The U. A. E is welcoming thousands of Israelis President Trump's administration. Promoted these diplomatic ties as a historic breakthrough, which was true Israel had been isolated from many Arab nations for decades. Israel's leaders says the agreement proves that peace does not have to come at a cost. NPR's Daniel Estrin traveled to Dubai and the U. S a toe ask just what kind of peace is being promoted? It's not hard to spot Israeli tourists and devise busy gold market way. Silas are very noisy, and they understand us here. I feel no tour guide. Lisi is wearing a sequined shirt and a blue scarf around her strawberry red hair she poses for pictures with elaborate gold wedding garments in the window displays. Later, she'll ski at Dubai's famous indoor ski slope in Jordan. I don't know if I will feel like this Not in Egypt Way make fine here and next month I come again. Egypt and Jordan share a cold peace with Israel and most other Arab countries refuse relations with Israel, as long as Palestinians don't have independence, but the U A E. I gave Israelis what they have long sought. A sense of acceptance in the region were wanted in our country Don't feel wanted by the Arabs. And here they want me here. L a needs Ziegel Boy Wonder's Dubai Spice Market. With six friends, all elementary school teachers and Moratti's in the market are reluctant to speak on tape about their countries embrace of Israel, which is still controversial in the region. I asked the Israeli school teacher is this piece? I don't know if it's a real piece or not. I think that both countries have interest in this peace because we need them. They need us. The Israelis gain business opportunities. One Israeli I met, signed a deal to grow lettuce using pipes and the Emirati desert. And the Emma Ronnie's Get Israel's blessing to buy American made F 35 fighter jets, Bahrain, Sudan and Morocco also normalized ties with Israel. And it was the U. S offering the incentives without concessions by Israel so long to watch a loom. Which alone middle. What's MMA Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promoted the U A e deal as peace for peace instead of the old paradigm land for peace. He says It sets a precedent. Israel doesn't need to give up land to the Palestinians to win friends in the Arab world. But I Moratti's still want Palestinians on their side U A e ambassador to the U S. You said fellow Taipeh. We still want to see a two state solution. We still want to see a negotiation between the two parties. Perhaps just perhaps we might be able to have more influence and more leverage when we do have a relationship with Israel. Emirati commentators say the love fest Israelis feel Just the honeymoon. Tough love will come later. But Israelis are seeing it more Netanyahu's way. Everybody by him from then a tourist to get just his first name to discuss his political views, says the Moratti's embrace proves Israel doesn't need to make sacrifices. Rather, it's the Palestinians who will feel pressured to follow their Arab brothers and make a deal with Israel. Even a prominent Israeli peace advocate returned from a trip to Dubai, saying, I think that the Palestinians need to rethink the way they treat Israel. Femi Paris The son of the late Israeli President Shimon Paris, runs the Paris Center for Peace that reaches out to Palestinians. He wants to promote business with the eh Moratti's and approach he wants Palestinians to adopt. I think Their point of view has being that's first sold the political issues and then we can start normalizing things and move forward. I think those days have gone. I believe that the only way for us to really, really achieve peace, comprehensive peace And save the region from backwardness is to focus on moving together forward. I put that to Nabil Shaath, adviser to the Palestinian president, He says. Palestinians can't just move forward and ignore their day to day realities is an occupying our land. Israel continues to Great second mints in our villages destroyed our houses. And yet It is legal had 23 is very better. Who is it? That should be doing what to whom the occupied the occupiers. Palestinians and many countries say real peace requires Israel to compromise land for peace. Shot says the U. A e deal removes the incentive for Israel to do that, Even if the Emirati say they'll keep pushing for it. There's radiated out of the problem, not us on the right. Is that looking for exclusive or what? There's not sisters myself and lewdness. Be that fan board down a desert dune. Their Palestinian Arab citizens of Israel, not from the occupied territories. And they're thrilled to finally visit a part of the Arab world that have been off limits to them as Israeli passport holders with the azure Allah Allah Dolly are a beam can look hope. Jewish travelers to Dubai with see Arabs in a more positive light. Could it lead to less discrimination against her community at home? Or would it all just be for gotten on the flight back commotion on the runway and Duke? By Lee's Eve, the Jewish Tour guide You heard at the beginning of the story happens to be sitting across from me and does not want the flight attendant to crowd the empty row in front of her with an Arab couple and their baby. Also tourists from Israel. A second Arab couple accuses her of racism. Give your time CC Zaeef says. Are you psycho woman? Can Lieutenant Mark going up? And Israeli flight attendant gets on the loudspeaker. Respect each other. A young Arab dad stands up and addresses the plane. Okay, mate committed. I don't being bumped out of it. No, but they must you all were just in an Arab country. Not in Las Vegas. Look at what's happening here. Disgusting. A Jewish man shouts back! Don't generalize. Quarreling passengers don't make amends or apologies. They spend the flight back to Israel in a kind of cold piece. Daniel Estrin NPR news Dubai

Australian coal exports reportedly banned by China

"Chinese state. Media is reporting today. That china has made official severe restrictions on the import of coal leaving hundreds of millions of tons of the stuff parked haplessly off the chinese coast in ships. That won't be talking. It is a severe and clearly symbolic expression of china's accelerating annoyance with australia. The two countries had long been profitably bound by china's fullness of australia's mineral resources the current episode of monocle. Twenty fours the foreign desk takes a broader look at the china. Australia spat in it. I speak to former australian. Prime minister and former australian diplomat to china kevin rudd. I began by asking him. Just how bad things are got most of us who have been but analysts said -ticipant in its relationship of the last several decades would site that in the near fifty year period since diplomatic relations were established in nineteen seventy two. This is the worst stage that the relationship is raised beds against all measures political diplomatic economic security human rights united. It's all gone right down. The too many contributing factors to this but indirect to question. It's a fifty year low. I think the way to analyze what's unfolding in. The of china relationship is to see it in terms of the normal outworkings all a great cow on the rise in this case but abnormally in this case the rise of a pow which is a one party state with an authoritarian political system. Fewing somewhat mckendall is taken on ole sees as well as seeking to adjust boundaries with its nighters maritime and land by his boundaries that is part of the reality but it does impact not just a straight but other american allies like japan the republic of korea in south southeast asia those in central asia even the russian federation bubble miata hand. What you've had is. An australian government said somewhat incapable differentiating between what i would describe as the operational characteristics of effective china's strategy and confusing that deliberately or otherwise on a continuing basis with a declaratory strategy which ends up being driven by domestic political imperatives. So it is. In fact the call these factors. In imprecise kerr relation with each other which actually produces the net result and frankly. It's an ungodly miss. The time for circuit breaker has well and truly come to prison. The mood for such circuit breaker has not yet arrived. But if you are not just necessarily this australian government but an australian government is there no grounds at all for concern about sinister designs. China may have on australia at this point. In recent months and years we've seen detention of australian journalists in china. There's been varies. Influence peddling scandals strode in michael burgess the director general of aco claims. There's more espionage. Dwayne australia right now than there was during the cold war. The key point here is what we conclude domestically in australia as constituting real threats to try national security by giving janis actions whether it's in state basis cyber cyber-attacks influence operations against his train. Politicians will the media or other such activities in dealing effectively. With each of those challenges it is not necessarily mandated that she didn't take out a mega fan every second day and proclaimed that from the rooftops is the constant differential i seek to explain between an operational strategy as opposed to a declaratory strategy. My advice to premise morrison repeatedly has been do more. Silas do more is in fact. A series of concrete measures enhancing on national security pows enhancing now intelligence assets enhancing fundamental economic cow enhancing out calculation growth in strengthening our alliances and relationships with countries. Around the world of just the united states but in southeast asia and beyond as well and that is gonna separate matter from proclaiming. I said every second tuesday morning. The original There's about two landing bondi beach by the chinese amphibious force. It's quite a different matter. Intelligent mature national strategy. Understand the difference between the two and the owners say practical example. The difference between the two look for example japan on a daily basis weekly bi assists in the last several years handled its relationship with china relatively stable notwithstanding the fact that japan is a annella. United states. Big is a liberal. Democracy see has tonners single loudest economic D has american military bases on its soil and e as a rolling territorial dispute with china chinese china sea of caucus data yet. Despite that the japan china economic relationship prestige relatively unmolested. Why because by the albay and supersonic plaisted looney eternal shall we say eastern virtue of shutting up from time to time as opposed to simply proclaiming everything from the rooftops that's effective strategy as opposed to opening your mouth full of time which is primarily driven ministries case by range of domestic political imperatives. Which in turn complicate the foreign policy agenda is saving to prosecute.

"The welcome to the podcast. The lovely anna champa. How you doing. Ana i'm good. Thank you very well so place. They finally got to chat been a long time. I'm pleased got there has been a longtime in being. There's been lots going on in your life. It'd be fair to say honor. Hasn't it hasn't been the most easiest of times. And i know you wanted to make sure you're in the right place to come onto the podcast today and hayward we go with this one so much to talk about session kit loss your life as a session style as you look you are international. She stars the real deal. You know not somebody who puts it on the bio and so when we talk about session starless i and just give everybody an insight to a session. Stylist really is so i mean. There is a lot of speculation with people saying that the session stylus and all they real session silas. I mean i think the main thing is when you'll really starting to earn money being session stylist. That is when you can really cool yourself. Recession silas so when you're not based on luck in asylum and you're working either in a session. Stylists can be actually anything from working in tv and film working as slept with celebrities and working in high fashion. You're a freelance has eyelids that works on set and is earning money through. That doesn't necessarily have to be with an agency. I've got lots of friends that well. Gary gale is an amazing session stylist and he managed to get to where he was without even being with an agency. So you don't necessarily have to agency if you're super talented like gary and you worked incredibly hard incredibly hard and then it doesn't you don't have to be the agency but But yeah just just freelance traveling so not based in a silo. Really most sessions. Stylus may do the odd day stallone if they weren't too I actually do still have. But you don't it's not. It's your not full-time in this island because then you're not session. Stylist that question in the world at the pandemic an no. We're hopefully come into the latter part of this pandemic. How badly affected as you're being as a session list to be honest. We are still working so actually when to the first lock down we out to work. And in the second lockdown we were out to work the government the that it was parked production and production for tv film and all shoots to still carry on going ahead so we had to say therefore we had to carry on working all we were allowed to carry on working however it is still extremely slow. So you know. I think people like super super establish session. Sinus that have been around for years like greater. Eugene only bake session stylist. i'm. I'm sure they're still really busy. But you know that's because they've got established clients have been working for years that still carrying on shooting but it has definitely been slide so for lot of myself and other sessions silas still growing. You know still building. Their portfolio is being really slow. So it's not it's been challenging for us as well and it's just more difficult because of all safety measurements that we've got put in place brushes. Does it take the gloss off a little bit of time to when you have to work with such a record railway not really know because mean i love my job and you just think. This is really adaptable creatures. And i think we. I think we really enjoy what we do. And i think that we're i think we're quite easy. Going is as characters like headdresses. Just i think once they get over the thing of oh no do that they just with it know they make stuff happen still had just quickly so no. I think once. I got used to having to wear the moss and to vises and all the sterilization starts getting used to it. And you just carry on like it's one of those things i mean. We have to carry on doing our job and we have to do it safely. So there's no point in about you know you just have to do it. You know and i love my job i i don't see it as were also good to hear not. Yeah we're going to get a little bit more insights into your life. Sexiest stall as well as session kit or really want to learn about session care. I've been watching growth and before we had any further into that. I think is good for our listeners. To just get the background to you and you know what led you to where you are. Well i am actually always always wanted to be a session stylist at even at school. I remember you and you teaches make you. Do those talks all what you want to be. When you're older so. I said i want to be at the head yourself. Now actually had a teacher that she took the mic of being a hairdresser and said that he said things like oh. I don't want you to stand up. And just say oh i just want to be harissa and always thinking. Oh my god. I'll do hairdresser. And i'm thinking i was quite worried about saying it. Which is terrible. I mean contemplative. He did that but at the time of see. You're innocent seed. I understand why someone would say that. But and but yeah i mean. Sometimes hairdressing can have that stigma. Con- it not so much now. I think but back then it was kind of sometimes. People have that view of it being an easy option. Because you don't have to go to university or things like that which is so not true

When nick brought up the miami heat that makes a lot of sense. James harden in miami and that organization with those players around him. The ones they'd be able to keep. You'd have included in order to make the salaries work and some other stuff. You probably include kendrick nunn. Who had a decent rookie season. So i think the heater a real possibility. But what i think this does is actually finally moved. Daryl morey and i say that brandon because darryl has known the nets do not present a real threat in this trade deal because they do not have the assets to make this work. The heat cooled. And if he's going to expand his teams to include milwaukee in miami he might expanded even further. So right now daryl. I feel like has been holding back offering ben simmons which i think would get the deal done assuming tillman for titas and said you're not allowed to trade daryl morey because he's mad at him for leaving the team but i think all of a sudden this is causing real meetings in miami and real meetings in philadelphia. I think in milwaukee. They're like i mean we can call a meeting. But unless you're in love with dante jones. Oh i don't know what to tell ya. "Talk about james harden for a second and then we can get into kind of bigger picture. Nba discussion okay. So for those. That don't know. What the troublesome boys carelessly ignored the second day stepped foot out of the shadows cast by the empire. They would be killed. Silas could do more good for the world. The higher he claimed in the military then participating in a rare bellion destined to fail and lead to the death of all. Those involved herald was the only rebel who continually the danger. Silas said would come. Should he be labeled an outlaw by the empire silas and herald mutual companionship and trust in each other remained present until the year. Fifty eight ninety seven when the transport the two were assigned to oversee was attacked by a league of pirates called. S- tyndall marauders. They took their name after the noted crime boss. Rava rava stendhal. Who led the marauders in capturing imperial goods. They had no dreams or aspirations of rebellion the criminals only after that which they could use for their selfish means nothing more herald recognized. Istanbul marauders potential to start a rebellion. Never shared his plan to escape with silas. He never got a chance to because silas doing the job he was hired to do. Shot down. the stendhal marauders after they try to pill for a large shipment of cargo silas with congratulated for his efforts by the imperial high command. Still his actions came at grave constitu to his relationship with herald seeing his one shot at rebellion slip away herald made his escape with a group of boys at long. Last many of the boys were killed. Just a silas predicted they would be herald. Found freedom with the last vestiges of the weakened. Stendhal marauders at the moment. He lost his true love. Silence realized the only way that he could assure herald safety west to ascend higher in the imperial command. He dedicated his life to lead the empire only by siding with the enemy. Could he bring an end. To all the bloodshed and terror wrought by imperial rule. He would march shoulder to shoulder with emperor. Krona's then do the one thing sue many armies had failed at kill the satanic embodiment of evil. Once and for all to enact his plan silas kill grave truly needed to embrace everything he knew about being recognized as a hero. Sadly it did not involve this sound teachings of his mother silas kill grave did what he'd been taught to do since he was thirteen. Erase all signs of compassion in a bid to project strength and power to bend people to his will. I aim to be harboring of destruction preached silas cold grave in a public address to the military following his success with the stendhal marauders. Oh that fabella wentz was is gone in should be turned to rush and an emmy is out there and we will them no quarter no relief. No refuge from our military might rattle was only the first of many speeches silence delivered to the masses officers with less remarkable public. Speaking ability began to rely on him to give lessons. The were incapable of providing he became the youngest cadet ever promoted to the rank of captain in the air force. Numerous followers knelt at his talents and dedicated themselves to following his lead with his new appointment. To silence assumed command of the eighty fifth squadron. A post he would covet for the rest of his life. The eighty fifth squadron quickly became known as kill graves hammer meanwhile herald successful in reorganizing. The dental marauders into a fighting force. They struck more military cargo ships to amass a store of weapons. They hoped to arm. The rebellion silas continually worked to stop herald crew from finding success with their missions. Squadron members of kill graves hammer had standing orders to capture herald and deliver him to silas alive. At which point silas would allow herald to escape from prison before he was due to stand trial. If herald and the mariners grew too powerful silas would be unable to save the life of his love and friend so kill graves. Hammer was called upon to keep marauders stuck and little more than a public nuisance. Silas went so far as discreetly provide herald pirate competition with weapons so that they would rise to more prominence against the empire and he would receive more accolades from top commanders when he stopped them. Silence as plan worked and with each rebellion. He squashed e clamped closer to his goal. Even with all silas kill graves lessons. He still had yet to face. Emperor cronos the two didn't meet until a banquet for the imperial high command. Brought them together. Silas delivered such a rousing. Impassioned speech to the assembled guests cronos made it a point to use himself personally to the captain. He had heard so much about. This was precisely what silas wanted like spider. He waited until his prey became ensnared in his web of deceit emperor. Cronos had come to silas. Not the other way. Around it had to be the satanic emperor's choice to invite silas kill grave into his inner circle only then could silence be assured his moment to strike would come without warning the most remarkable thing about emperor kronos as away emerged about with no security. The enigmatic ruler did not have a squad of bodyguards at his call to earn it. If his life was ever in terrible danger he continually strut about without fear of being attacked. Appearances could still be deceiving. So silas remained in weight planty watching and evaluating the bold emperors everyman. As time went by emperor. Kronos actually sought out silas as the two of them launched into regular conversations. Kronos became aware of how politically insightful silence was although he remained with the military silas was formerly made a deputy advisor to emperor cronos. He was awarded a firm place in the imperial high command in his role.

Police Raid House of Maradona Doctor

"Being investigated for possible manslaughter following the death off the Argentine football legend earlier this week, police and one side is search Leopoldo Lucas house and private clinic for evidence of negligence after Maradona's daughter's gave statements questioning their father's medical care. He died of a heart attack on Wednesday. He was 60. It was days after being discharged from hospital following an operation to remove a blood clot in his brain. Marcela Mora eat or alcohol is a football writer in border Silas. She began by telling me how the investigation unfolded. It emerged that he was found or pronounced dead at around midday on the 25th of November on then, a little investigation started as to when he had last been seen alive, and it appeared that it hadn't been since 11 p.m. the night before, which seemed like rather a long time for somebody who's allegedly under medical supervision. Various people had to Give their accounts. What was incredibly married on in if you like was the doctor in charge of the team gave a press conference because he's obviously scared. I mean, it's impossible to know whether There will be any criminal charges found or levied against anybody. It's almost like we now want to find somebody guilty for murdering his death because it's such a terrible Unimaginable, painful event. I want some of that news conference. He already was. It was uncomfortable, and he got quite emotional at the end. Didn't hear me And I guess he feels like the fingers sort of being pointed at him in so I mean, it is, isn't it? But I guess the idea that everybody in the country still mourning Taken. Maradona's death is now focusing on him. I'd like to be quite careful about saying everybody in the country is morning. A lot of people are very angry at the public. Funeral and the mixing of folks and there's been some angry letters written, and it's not even a political issue. Just people saying Look, we've all lost our relatives and I loved ones dying alone. Now This is kind of almost trump in White House Rose Garden type event what the doctor explained today, Maradona was medically discharged. He was in full control of the situation, and he could have dismissed any of us any point. He didn't want medical care. Eventually, the doctor just broke down. I think he's in a mixture of both fear and possibly sadness. 15 years ago when he had his stomach stapling operation, his doctor at the time. Dr Kay, who had been his position friend, his life told me in an interview that they went to recovering Cuba because Cuba was the only country in the world that would let them And because nobody wants married, don there to die in the on their patch. That's the literal quote from the doctor. Nobody wants married honor to die on their patch because of the absolute chaos that wouldn't see you. And I think we're getting a snippet. Now of what's probably to come. It won't just stay focused on these few hours before his death. Marcela Mora e Arauco, speaking to the area from point a scientist.

"Random to the show Yeah it's good to be back with you. I'm not really a guest at this point craig. I think i think. I'm i think i'm a regular buddy in co hosts at this stage so you don't have to commute to the show video. Thank you thank you good to you. Good to speak. I guess always is always as an i love that. We're on video. And because i'm in southern california. I'm in shorts and a tee shirt and you're in northern california in the morning wearing a ski hat. Yeah some definitely must say. I can't complain My family's back in boston. I'm not sure what the weather is right. Now but There's a reason why i'm not there for the winters and this is definitely a good place to be so i'll take the cold. Yeah absolutely. I feel like i'm really turning a corner down here into panga with the help of the community i've mapped out several real key important ridge lines and canyons between here and santa monica. And now i'm i'm really Experiencing asunto euphoria. Because i'm starting to kind of make connections between the two and i got lost on a rotten single-track that lead nowhere yesterday but also found. Just this rad single-track connector that i just. It's a point of discovery of new areas. That i really love when you've got the basics down and you can start digging into some of the lesser known trails. Yeah i'm starting to get that similar. Sense of familiarity with my surroundings have been here only for a couple of weeks. And i had done some writing here before but not much information's on it in the Again you know in the santa cruz mountains. Just north of skaggs point and so. I'm doing a lot of writing kinda to the west of there towards the coast backup. Then yesterday. i wrote king's ridge up in Outside of grenville. Unbelievably gorgeous out there. the grasshopper what is it the super sweetwater and the old caz racists go through their train is unreal and we were on the road the whole time so that i know there's a lot of good dirt but The vistas just unbelievable. Yeah and frankly cinema. County roads are often worse than the trails in my ex. Well i was writing six fifty. So i was. I was in good shape but one of our one of the two people i was with we were riding in a socially distant way. Everyone into we'll be talking about that in a moment One of the people we were with only have thirty. Two's and was definitely feeling the extra you impact and so on. So i was glad to be on fat rubber. Yeah exactly and you reference the grasshopper series. I had miguel crawford the founder of that series. He's been doing it for twenty years Which is kind of crazy Twenty one years. Now i guess and you can imagine what the equipment was like back in the day and in our interview he kinda often joked about. You know you just as soon see a mountain bike on the start line as you would proper road bike and everything in between over the years. In fact one of the people i was with at their brakes. Were starting to fail because it's so steep and fast and so on that just The the compounds in their breaks was seemingly anomalous classifying. Or something where they're just losing breaking power at the extremes kind of sketch. I didn't have those problems. Fortunately and i won't name names in terms of who's brake pads. They were either but well. This is great. I mean i feel like these conversations and the discovery process. We're going through in. Our new locations is on point with what i wanted to talk about today. Yep yep Before we jump into that because it will be a jumping off point. Do also want to talk about a listener email and dialogue. I've been having with the member of the community named silas. He brought up something that i've been grappling with someone. New to an area without local friends is just kovic safe riding and obviously did an interview with dave from unpaved about the event they did and all the changes they made to make covid safe but for for all of us on the day to day we've got to think about how to ride as covid safe individuals and is it safe to ride with others and what techniques can we do and what i recommended to silas is since neither you nor i are experts on this is let's let's put in the community forum and let's have a discussion and see how we can provide information to one another and have a dialogue about how individuals are comfortable in terms of writing with others. Today yeah and it's certainly not something that we are qualified to discuss ourselves You know we're not epidemiologists. We are not medical professionals and so on norway claiming that you know we have actually if we have anyone in the community Who has that sort of expertise can point to articles and so on This would be the channel To contribute to the conversation. Because ultimately i think for all of us including the experts that there is a this is like an an ongoing iterative optimization function. We're trying to find the right balance between you know. Mental health comes through social connection and that we are safe from A disease a pandemic that know is i mean. It's not like ebola so it doesn't have that extreme seriousness but it is serious enough especially potentially to other people that we might transmit to where we wanna take precautions. Striking that balances is something. We're all trying to figure out.

"Celtics Legendary player coach broadcaster Tommy Ison passing away at age 86 where the guy was incredible over more than 60 years. You know, with the Celtics, you know part of all their championship 17 championships between a player coach broadcaster. I mean, pretty amazing life that Tommy Heinsohn lived 1934 to 2020 thiss guy was A lot of fun to listen to he get, you know, Hey, got on the bad side of Knicks fans back in the day. He was somebody that had a short fuse when he was coaching. But he was a gamer. I mean, If you were playing Frank's in or if you were rooting for I intend you felt good because this guy never quit. And I mean, he called timeout. Sometimes in games that looked like there's no chance to win this game. He'd have you played. He come up with some strategy. I mean, I like times, and I thought he had a great basketball mind. Just like you be Brown when I listen to you, you know, is a color commentator. Oh, man, That guy gets it. I got the same thing from Tommy Heinsohn. He knew that he knew the game inside out. And was a solid player but really was a solid coach for many years with the Celtics a CZ well and I remember growing up. And watching a lot of those playoff games. You know, back the Eastern Conference back in the seventies late 60 seventies, and you saw the Knicks in the Baltimore Bullets. They were back in the day and then you know, those were great games, and then you got to the next round. And a lot of times there were those those Celtic teems with Honda John Avlon check and and number 10 Jo Jo White. Uh, you know so many great players, Paul Silas on that team, and just just a bunch of good, solid players. And, of course, the Celtic teams in the eighties with you know, D J and Bird and Change, and Robert Parish, the chief Boy. Lots of good stuff with that Celtics organization. But, Tommy, I said, part of it for as long as anybody and he will be missed, But 86 years old, I'm sure Tom, you tell you Hey. Lived one heck of a good life. We heard that come from our good pal Alex Trebek, who passed away 80 years old Tommy Heinsohn. 86 years old. Ah, lot of milestones there and a part of that Celtics team for a long, long time

"I go. Yes splashes the quarter three says. That's what i do beneath the mask. Then pops down just you heard it again. That's what i do on a scale of one to ten louis just lobbing team out here buddy. Scale of one to ten. How cool is this video. Ten the coolest at four million. I made it's just got everything at like. He just gets the bull so to some oposite to him. he's got a little. Hazy takes a triple knox in the three struts of the court like he's the coolest guy talks smack and then just in case. You didn't hear him. He loves him us. Talking smack a little so much just got to cohasset about. That's just walking out of there like the coolest man auto think. There has ever been five to eight second clip on the internet. That's had so much drip so much. That what barack obama did it because he i mean he knocks the three three like checks his feet. There's a little wiggle. And then he just walks off like yeah man. I'm the coolest man. I thought that was the most amazing clip zora saved for a long time and man. He's a cool thirty two as well. He's wearing pants and a jacket there and like Full basketball thing like he made that like he didn't have any didn't hang on a minute. Let me take my shirt. He didn't do the kenny. The jet jack just grabbed the bull. Not in the three walked out of this. If you're mother. And his kim cool man as wish. I wish he was going to be president again. Tomorrow can call cliff and it is so cool. Anything had tasks trae about that. Obama three splash and it from the corner. Looks like he's been working with. Sean marion on his three pointer. Form the corner a little flicky. I also don't know who it is but as soon as berry nails at somebody basically yells. We barad cord china. Most do get him at three. Oh i do like our like. It's not surprised. I guess impressed. A lot of people are in the clip. They're like you could save a couple of faces like day. it's pretty damn cool like even the moment right. There tasks anything to add to berry's three very cool. I think that his staff set it up so they left from that corner because it would have been different shot from the opposite corner going to that hand so they're always looking out for the president former president doing it right. he's fresh. she's so fresh on the campaign trail. He's just joined basically the last in a week and a half or whatever it is so smart is a smart guys fifty nine years old. He's banging on that shot Is money cuba's on a shop was just released with him in lebron james as so go check that out the conversation that they had while lebron the lakers were deciding. Do we stay here. In the bubble he called up lebron. They had that conversation brock coming through man. Just absolutely come through here in the clutch as he did on the basketball floor. The one thing. I would always make fun of barack. Obama was him playing pickup basketball in pants. Now it all makes sense -ly into he's putting in the reps playing pants so he can do something cool like this in his slacks as he leaves the gym now now that he's thinking he's just playing chess. He's ten steps ahead of every man. He's just he's just the funds that's basically what he is. He's he's a real life version of the fox and you know yesterday. I tried to recreate it. I thought he's a funny video. Put together me and barack doing that. Same thing shirt off. I had my kids there. I had the coffee all setup it i knocked it in. I did it a couple of times. Then i'm like there's no point i can't. I cannot recreate anything like that. Even if it was lieto it might be funny. No not worth at barack standalone. Wow you're telling me you actually went through all the trouble setting up recorded it and then even still watching it back. This is earth. I movie i had to split screens and everything trod to a lot and i looked at it a show. It's my wife and i said i. There's no point really is trying to recreate that. Like sorry honey. We just wasted all your for new because remember last year in the playoffs. You know i recreated a couple of leila's big shot and allies and whatever you think. I thought that's a little bit of something to put out there and social media. I did the split screen thought. Maybe i'll do my first ever real on instagram here. But i couldn't figure that one out had to go into into y movie and put it all together and just like what. You can't replicate anything like that. He just can't make it that cool so i let it go wearing pants when you shot it. Well so was the other thing now is he didn't want to but i was like i was like. Is that too much. I i had the mosque and everything i met with the kids. But i'm like yeah. I just can't do it so i let it slide. I thought you were going to say you went over taxes. House picked up his vote. Mask that actually. You can add that to the real. Wow that's crazy. Yes more drip than a piece of celery with hamas hanging on halloween parties. Pretty good comment from rodrigo on the stream team. Who says i love the the fawns epitome of cool for lee s between the funds and styles ski one to talk but styles would have been the one in the video. Really hyping him up. Give me the big message on the show. That's my boy right there. That's my boy. Is the ultimate hype. Man ooh bomb is the fines. I guess styles is biden. So styles for president does that yeah. He hasn't quite the same energy. You stalls to move both wear sunglasses. I'd like to see biden driving.

"They obviously lost jimmy butler but josh richardson's another good piece on theory on paper at that time so not all moves. Turn out great but at the time going into them i mean i thought i thought the sixers and i think a lot of people thought this is going to be much better than they were so also that i think i think on brand has done a better job than he's being given credit for right now how he's going to bat for elton loyal guy. You must have loved brownie. Points wasn't good fancy player. Yeah i never hurt. You got a lot of blocks to undersized big band it's true it's true they're taking Elton brand world mid-range range shots in. They're saying hey. But let's bullet let let's bring in to start modernizing the game a little bit elton. We don't want your mid rangers anymore. Let's shoot some threes my man and that's what's going to happen. It's gotta happen a little bit. But he's also handcuffed because the off season is so short so there's not gonna be a lot of moves better going to be made There's gonna be less time to chat with the other general managers. So i think we're gonna see some further gang korkmaz up their fire against scott out there fire away just surround them with the shooter's as much as possible. Ben simmons is still injured to. Let's not forget that right. I mean we don't even know when the seasons even starting but will even be there at the start of the season and then also what type of shape is dwelling beated after. I'm sure i'm working hard all the time. Yeah probably probably best shape top shave all right. Well let's keep moving here again. Lots of news to address Talk about the team. That more just left the rockets in other front office news this past week stephen silas was named the rockets fourteenth head coach in franchise history. Now silence spent the previous two seasons as an assistant coach. Rick carlisle staff in dallas. And he helped the mountains to. I guess it was technically the best offensive rating in mba history. So he had some impact on that and he has just been an assistant coach for ever. I think nineteen years officially as an assistant coach. Couple years more in scouting. So this guy's got two plus decades and he's the son of paul silas so he's been around the league forever. He's putting this time here but tasks were you surprised by this higher for the rockets going with stephen silas and in an circles. Nba person None of us are so this wasn't a really out there. As far as sort of the general public goes obviously. The rockets were doing their due. Diligence in their interviewing. Jeff van gundy And their own guy john lucas. But this wasn't out. There and stephen silas is sort of one of the i. Guess one of those younger guys who have You know and kind of under that. Nick nurse sort of idea that hey maybe a guy who's been around for a long time as assistant coach or coached elsewhere. A has been on. Benches can help us out assistant or scout for twenty years. I think he sort of in that. Mold is only forty seven years old a lot younger than the other candidates that were out there. And i think most importantly on this rockets team. 'cause it you wanna talk about the sixers being handcuffed. The rockets are definitely in that boat. Where they've got two guys making a huge chunk of their salary cap and hardened westbrook you gotta build building offense around that what's important. I think stephen silas also has a bachelor's in sociology and management. I think it's just gonna be about trying to convince james harden. Hey we can do other things. My man maybe little off the ball Russ let's let's work a little bit off the ball. I mean it's. It's really a lot about that locker room. And i think they believe that stephen silas work with luca. Danni last year has worked with a lot of stars and staff and others I think he's His number one obligation really. It's it's design offense and convinced those guys to be willing to try and change a little bit to do some other things to get others involved into not just be a james harden One on five type deal. But they're still going to be good and stephen silas. Congratulations to him. The guy has earned it the magic twenty years were conventions work in batches. This has nothing to do with his dad being a a lifer in the nba. Being coaches has to do with his work ethic and so congrats stephen styles and by all accounts. This guy is like the nicest guy in the nba. Everything i read or hear. Someone talking about stephen guys. Nicest guy this remit. That's a good thing. Everybody is saying that. That's a that's awesome and it's cool to see him get this job surprise trae by this higher. Yeah i'm surprised by but a little bit. Not because when you're comparing stephen silas jeff van gundy and john lucas. You know which one's going to be the cheapest so it's not a huge surprise that rookie head coach would be the choice for the rockets but i do think it is a surprise that you have a team with harden and westbrook eighteen that has had success not the ultimate success. They fallen short time and time again as we all know. It's pretty unusual to go with the first time head coach when your fear radically trying to win a championship. When you're trying to be a title contender bring in a guy Who has never been the head coach for a team. To hold. James harden accountable. It wasn't he wasn't able to really be held accountable to do something off the ball when he had a coach of the year on the sidelines. So will he now want to be an off. The ball mover for stephen silas. I'm pretty doubtful. Luka doncic didn't do a whole lot of move in for the dallas mavericks this to me is a pure money higher. Yeah the rockets are going to still be trying to win a championship. They're still going to be a team. That's competing for the postseason. Tanking is bad for business about the only way you could lose. More money is to go into a full tank right now. No way tillman for tito wants to do that. But stephen silas me makes more sense as a coach for the future as a coach who is rebuilding. What the young team. So maybe we will see the rockets. Go down that path in the non too. Distant future yeah. I'm a little worried that no one's going to give a damn about the rockets when we play next season. I don't know what it is because more being gone twenty being gone. Who knows like trae says is one of those big guys. Move kenya move. A westbrook probably definitely could move. There'd be a lot of interest in him. But i have a weird feeling because with the rockets. Yeah they still might be good. But no one. And i mean no one's going to be like oh yeah. They could win the title. No one's going to say that until they ever prove it with you. Know that core germain guy to deep into the playoff run again. No one's gonna care. No one will no matter what they're doing in the in the regular season. So i have this just a strange feeling that the rockets are just going to be there lee and they're just going to be like again. I'm very happy. And i hope he iran like it'd be awesome if he's like suddenly nick nurse like tasks said like crazy innovator and he's got hard and doing other things. That would be amazing. I'm doubtful but i just think the rockets are just going to be a like a team. That's good but not great and That's going to be there. But what do you think. Well i wish him all the best because it is a very challenging situation for a first time coach into because that's the thing these two guys it's it's it's hard to change anybody's playing style this far into their career anyway so to sort of convince someone. When you'll you'll first season to say a play this way or do something different. Or let's do this now and they're good. I mean that's the crazy part. He had a lot of games right. Fifty six new games playing the way they do hard and westbrook they are. You're right. I agree with you to change them. It's difficult but then then we know what happens so to comply tom. It's just the formula just doesn't really works iraq. That's going to be the big challenge for house. Silence can change things with without changing them. If you know what..

"Richardson might be the guy to make that happen. Trae what do you think tasks is right. He we've seen more. We wanna get stars. The problem is he usually gets to can't find the third one well. He's got to simmons in a beat. Israel move here that you could see to and a third one or does he care about three pointers more and move now. We just saw a team win the nba championship with only two stars and today's league. Maybe that's all you need. You don't gotta go star hunting when you've got two all stars on your team. So yeah they're going to tinker around the edges with embiid and simmons. Staying there i think gets lost on a lot of people with the analytics movement that the number one best shot an analytics is a dunk. You've got two guys who can score inside quite a bit. That's a good place to start with simmons and beat. Now you just got to figure out the pieces and that's a place. Where daryl morey has he sort of thrived l little bit finding guys that had been cast off but that was also bring him into a mike d'antoni system where he says. Hey man. I don't care what you do if you're open shooter three if you're not open still shoot a three. There are ways to get those sort of performances out of lesser known players. But you have to have a coach who's willing to to live with the mistakes. Is doc rivers going to be as willing to live with the mistakes as mike. D'antoni i don't know if that's necessarily the case but i think we're gonna see a pretty similar sixers team coming back. I'm sure they would like to trade horford and harris but there's a reason they're tough the trade they got humongous deals in their underperforming them. I think a key would be telling tobias harris. Just shoot. three's none of this pump. Fake and take an eighteen footer. A third of the sixers shots came from the mid range. And that's just not going to be the case when they're playing underneath a daryl morey system the threes are going to be more important and maybe it just comes from telling the players there. You're wasting your time taking long. Twos shoot the three. It's all tough learning process. We saw it with mellow right where he would catch the ball. He would pump fake and ended up taking. It too would be a huge laugh on sports center because the rockets asteroid. Let somebody take it to. That's gonna change. There are ways to change this. And daryl morey has always said if you've got a five percent chance you need to go all in for it. You've got to stars in their prime right now in embiid and simmons. You need to figure out innovative ways to build around them because they're both sort of unusual players and he does a throwback to the nineties simmons's guy that we haven't really seen before who doesn't wanna take threes can get to the rim but does generate threes brother people. There is a lot of talent in philadelphia. It's just odd fits. But i would rather see simmons and embiid both stick around. That's a great nucleus. Just figure out a way to fit people around it. It looked okay. When i was there. It looked You know they were a shot away from advancing to a conference finals. And we're talking about this team totally different. I think you can continue to build around. These guys have success. Yeah it's interesting. I'm grabbed about five percent chance to win a title like in the east. it's wide open. Still i mean. Yeah the heater great. Who knows who have come in back. Offices raptors team still the box The mix the celtics but like it is open. I mean is there is. there is an open path. I mean if everything clicks free to at least go to the finals and maybe win. The thing saw bobby marks. He broke down the books. Though simmons rookie. Max extensions but to kick in here. So they're going in to this offseason with payroll of one hundred fifty one million dollars and one hundred twenty two million. That are going to four guys simmons and embiid and then harrison horford. Wow that's already way over the luxury tax threshold meaning of massive penalty and that's before free agency began so maybe the sixers ownership is also just leaning all into this. They see maury. They lock up brand for the extension. They see dock they go get him and they say let. Let's just throw a ton of money at this and see what we can do and say you said the picks thoroughly not the sexiest looking picks. They have this year for the november eighteenth draft number twenty one and then they have thirty four thirty six forty nine and fifty but maury has uncovered some gems before in the daf. Pretty late chandler. Parsons was deep in the second round. Way back in two thousand eleven. Clint capello was number. Twenty five in fourteen mantras herald even a second round pick and earlier early issues. Second round pick until the fifteenth. So maybe they find something may find one of the gems or like you said maybe they trade all those who knows because morial likes to make some moves. The areas six trades per season on average when he was with houston for thirteen years. That's a whole lot of trades. Just fantasy basketball player. Who's got really really good job. You know one of those guys. He's always looking to just keep something moving. Great it must be so annoying Yes because in your fantasy basketball league. And i was one of them. We're the most annoying beyond brody hebrew. You wanna trade me loy vaught you want. Treat me lloyd. Rooney no no interest. Okay just leave me alone until the point you just keep bothering them and then they eventually just shut the hell up all right anything to add to this. Sounds like we're all pretty excited on know why you wouldn't be a big name in maury with a big team in philadelphia. That's weird team as it is and can they figure it out this exciting i think for the league in general a he had a quick break with his family after he's going to take some time off spend it with family couple of weeks was good enough and now he's back at it but anything else to add guys for. This man is going to be busy. Like you're saying people are excited about a coach and a gm. That's really not an exciting thing. you know. you gotta have a little bit of faith. If you're a sixers fan that ear super team that happens to be in the front office is going to be what pays off. But you gotta do so many moves because like you're saying skates having so much tied up in harris and in horford means that if you trade one of them you're obviously getting money back because that's trades work but number two if you only trade one. You're still going to be over the cap and just traded a good player like harassed and horford are still decent players likely trading him for worst players. Who may be for your team a little bit better. But you're gonna take a little bit of a hit from from a talent standpoint while still being over the cap. It's a tough tough spot for daryl. Morey to be an. He kinda worked him. What his way to having zero flexibility. By the time you left houston. Now he's going to a place. Where in philadelphia where. He still has zero flexibility. And we're not sure if the pieces exactly right but it feels like the end of the era in And houston continues era in philadelphia. Which is the exciting thing They had a little bit of a way word. Dalliance with colangelo. And elton brand there and lee on brand has done a good job. Hundred percent disagree. I think he completely botched the process so good thing they got something there who can make a good decision. I will say though. I think when he got al horford and i'll also thought it was a good move. I thought it was the right move. It didn't work. But i thought he got a good piece in their space. The floor spread the floor and experience. Go i now. We look at it in twenty twenty. Hindsight didn't work. But i think at the time about eighteen months ago whenever it was signed. That was the right move. And elton brand was largely made that and they brought it. I mean again..

A Critique of Dallas Buyer's Club

"Let's. Let's Talk About Dallas Buyers Club. I first and foremost all the triggers. Goddamn because everything you thought you knew about this movie you were right and then there's more. There's The the TRANSPHOBIA is there from the characters. It's enacted characters but it's also just that kind of trans-phobia where it's tucked under. Oh, it's actually homophobia but that's because they don't know what to do with someone who presents in a way that is not stereotypical. To one gender or another. and. Yes. So look up triggers for this movie. There are so many that I don't even feel like sitting down and listing them but look them up before you continue to consume this podcast and before you decide to watch that movie. That said, had you either? Have you seen this movie before we went to the podcast first time? For a first time on that radio to. See what I did there. On brand very unbranded. Yeah. It was my first time too. I definitely knew it. As you said, for all the reasons that I knew, and then there were more reasons that I was glad I did until now. Oh Yeah so This movie I have to say because I tried to as much as I'm trashing it as much as I'm like Oh this all this I really wanted to like this movie I went in wanting to like it I remember talking to a friend about this movie because I refused to see it. So I was like, why are people praising jared leto wire people praising his portrayal of Now, I can't remember the name of Rayon why and I actually had to coax it out of a friend because. This was a friend that I respected their opinion on and they basically said they were like, well, you don't actually want to know you wanna be mad and it's like, no I respect your opinion i. am asking you why people care what is it about this helped me and what this friend said to me was that the portrayal of someone who is going through a having aids being HIV positive and then having AIDS, and then dying from another disease which. It, it was the thing that really drew this friend of mine into the character and into the world of this film and as much as. We are going to talk about a lot of the specifics now having watched it. I respect that opinion. Even though I did not get the same thing from this movie. At least from from Rayon and that's really mean I also did not grow up like I grew up as a child during the AIDS crisis I did not know a lot going on but at the same time. The movie in my opinion the movie itself. Didn't do a great job with ray on. But I really dug the way that they dealt with. Woodruff Matthew. mcconaughey character in the first act. Yeah To to. Put My cards on the table for we continue. To very specific misconceptions or like nervous conceptions but two very specific things that we're going to my mind when I started watching the movie. Deborah really softened a lot of it for me, which was one. The last movie that I've seen that was in relation to the AIDS crisis was the film adaptation of Rent. which was the worst movie that's life. I it's just. Sorry And the others conception is that I didn't realize that it was made in twenty thirteen I thought like watching it. It felt like it was like an early two thousands movie in house can be like well. Okay like Even. The Straits don't really get chanced stuff I. It was like a good attempts to try to like bring more color to the table metaphorically speaking. But it's a twenty thirteen. I don't know like. I mean at times article didn't come out yet. It's just it's just weirder and it's also like. That film strikes very early two thousands and I'm not like sinophile so I could be completely dead wrong on this, but it just felt. Like You know way older movie than it actually ended up being. So. And that. Up Sorry and then I guess the third conception. Sorry. The secret third one was that I actually was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt because as soon as I found out that it was like historical like a history piece because runway was a real person. As like, Oh, well then you know if they had to deal with a real life trans person like they're they're dead in the water like you know they're not going to handle that well. But no round is is a real. She was made for the movie. So cool. Great. Love that for us. So. Yeah. I wonder because Silas one of the things that you had mentioned that you had focused on when talking about the movie was a lot more of a real life historical things that were going on and about the real life of what was happening. Can you talk a little bit about that? Yes so Aside, from knowing about, you know sort of the kerfluffle about jared leto playing the part and hearing a little bit about that when the movie came out the other thing that I really had a bee in my bonnet about is the fact that Ron Woodruff was not straight. And he did talk about long clearly had some stuff but. They just. Changed him to be straight and altered his character quite a bit and watching it. It's so clear to me that they were like, how do we make this the straight male hero anti hero type that the straight people will come see the movie for? And so that to me like before, we even get to any issues of transphobia homophobia of that in the Bi phobia that really just made me now it becomes this sort of like. The straight guy in the hero of a crisis that you know certainly straight people and all people belong to this lots of. It was but it was primarily focused on the queer. Community. And sort of start off before you even have a chance to give the film the benefit of the doubt with that erasure just really for me. Through me completely out of it it was I wasn't able to come to the film really with. A kind of the I at that point.

If you keep free of these he will be doing what is right. Farewell the word of the Lord. God. Good. Nations, you. I reading from the book of revelation. The angel took me in spirit to a great high mountain, and showed me the holy city of Jerusalem, coming down out of from out of heaven from God, it gleamed with a slender of God. It's radiance was, like that of a precious stone, like Jasper clear as crystal. It had a massive high wall with twelve gates where twelve angels were stationed and on which names were inscribed. The names of the twelve tribes of Israelites. There were three gates facing east three north three south and three west, the wall of the city had twelve horses of stones as foundation, which win scribe the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the lamb. I saw no temple in the city for its temple is the Lord, God almighty, and the land the city had no native sun or moon to. Shine on it for.
