"Listening to this on Sunday and you're planning to go to the third of the show or most importantly to sig range day and our premier media day, which I certainly hope you can make it, we are actually coming out with a few new products, obviously the big one that everyone's been talking about is the spear. The big MCX, the basically the commercial version of our NGS W, rifle. And that is actually going to be at range day. We're going to be creating that live fire. That actually launches in Q one. We're launching that early this year. So we're pretty excited about that. We have been putting some of the Specter comp or ex ex macro comp technology. We're putting some of that into a three 20, we're going to be launching that and showing that in the first time it shot at range day. And very, very, that gun shoots so well. That kind of actually that kind of shoots so well. And that technology is so interesting that U.S. PSA is changing their definition of what a compensator is. So this pistol basically broke the competitive shooting organization and it's incredible. So I have very, very proud of that one. Not because my name is on the patent, maybe, but that's okay. It's okay. So yeah, that's going to be great. We're actually going to be introducing a new, basically, a new take on the 360 five X macro, which has been our most popular pistol. That gun carriage is through Q four. It's just an incredible. We're going to have a little different take on that pistol, some folks have been asking for a macro without the integrally integrally slide ported compensated version. So we'll be given that to them. But honestly, the products is the product side, that's easy for us, but we're actually doing something a little bit different this year with basically a new program. Now granted does have a couple of new guns around it. And I got about a minute left. So go ahead and tell me about the program. Well, this is called the rose. It's called rose by sig sauer and what it is is basically it's a program designed for women. Women, education, women empowerment. Of course, there are two firearms that we're offering with the system. But the gun is going to come in an incredibly just well, awesome box, beautifully engraved, gun, safe in the box, a lot of literature. And you also become a member of the rose program where you get access to Lena make you look in her for resources and YouTube videos and instructional series and it's just a way to help women feel comfortable in that shooting gun ownership and training environment. And it's something we're getting really behind. We've got a whole section set up just

"It wasn't cold. Many shooters do not like shooting in any kind of inclement weather. For me, I thrive on it, you know, my whole career has been cold wet and hungry, and I don't like any of them, but I've been at most of my life, so it's okay. But, you know, it's funny because the same is true, and I think for the same reason, I mean, I play music and I just play drums. I'm not really a musician. I just hit stuff. But the musicians I play with who are the menu. Playing outdoor gigs when it's cold and you're trying to finger the guitar or the base or whatever. You lose dexterity. Yeah. It's rough. So we were over there shooting. We finished on a good note. I mean, I finally figured out my one handed position, Daniel Horner had some great ideas. And there was somebody else there and I can't remember who it was and they gave us some ideas on Ben and your elbow a little bit more in taking all the pressure out of your shoulder because if you strong arm that gun straight up and down for me, it just doesn't work as well if I bent my arm just a little bit. Yeah, combat shooting is fine. I can throw it out there and I can shoot and shoot me in a man, but now we're talking about a two and a half inch circle at 15 yards. And you've got to have some techniques. And you've got some time to stabilize and make the shot. So we shot really well at practice we were my gun was on. It seemed good and then we left and we weren't even to the range yet and we got another call said match was completely canceled until Saturday. Oh my gosh. All right, that's a perfect time. When we come back from this quick break, I want to talk about what happened. What were the results of this? And there's going to be some lessons learned for you guys here. Have you ever wanted to customize a gun, but you want to get it from the manufacturer. You don't want to take it to a gunsmith and wait for 9 months. Well, you can use the P three 20 studio from sig sauer custom works concierge service. It allows you to easily create the perfect custom

"The suppressor height sites are three inches tall at that point. Exactly. And you don't want that. The special holster that would have to be made, you know? Ridiculous, but if a person they'll be bringing out a new one, you know, exactly tuned, right? So, I mean, is that kind of the range is that 25 to 30 DB is what should be. And that's what we're going anywhere from 25, 24 up to 32, depending on calibers, things like that. That's normally the sweet spot that we'd like to begin. And then like I said, we're willing to sacrifice DBs now in order to get back pressure down. So we're chase numbers. We're not Jason, no, no more. We just want back pressure because we know how bad it can be. When you're shooting full auto. And you get that gas just blowing in your face, you know, you're coughing, you're choking. You can't see. So that's our main goal right now is the lemonade back pressure. Okay, so after this break, I want to talk about back pressure. What does that really do for the person if they're not familiar with it? One of the cool things that sig sauer has done is create a way that you can swap out grip modules for the P 360 five and P three 20 series of guns. Now you can buy a P 360 five X macro grip standard module in black, only 80 bucks. So you can swap it out on your other gun and now you kind of have two guns in one. This is a factory replacement for the P 360 five X macro. It features a true 1913 accessory rail, three interchangeable backstraps, small, medium, large, to ensure proper fit for the shooter's hands. The medium back strap comes pre installed. And it's compatible with the 17 round P 360 five X macro magazine, compatible with all P

"A thousand yards, 1500 yards, long range shooting is all the rage, and Ruger has a new gun for you. It's from the Ruger custom shop, and it's the Ruger precision rifle, RPR. But this one is in 6.5 creedmoor. Comes with a trigger tech trigger, heavy contour barrel, barrier stop built in on the front of the magazine well. Magpul, MOE, K two grip. Just all kinds of bells and whistles. So if you're thinking about getting into the long range game or you want kind of a turnkey rifle, check out the Ruger precision rifle in 6.5 creedmoor from the Ruger custom shop. Franklin armory, let's talk about Franklin armory. They're based in Nevada. They specialize in making quality firearms as well as other things like their binary firing system, some innovative stuff, like the reformation and the Providence, also the F 17 series of rimfire rifles in 17 wisdom, and just kind of a very freedom loving company, the people that I've dealt with are all about freedom all about guns and innovating and doing some fun things. Also, 100% American made parts and materials, check them out over at Franklin armory dot com. New stuff from sig sauer, I tell you what, these guys keep cranking them out the new P three 20 AX G combat. This is from the sig custom works, and this is kind of a compact four and a half inch barrel, a XG, which means we're talking a stainless steel frame, a stainless steel, material, FC finish, the slide, the finish, all that stuff, and it's an AX G so this is a pretty tricked out gun. It's obviously optics ready. It actually the combat comes with the extended threaded barrel on there, so you can throw a silencer on there. But check it out over at sig sauer dot com. New from Springfield armory is the hellcat pro. Yeah, it's been out a few months,

"In one. Well, it's wet on kodiak. And I anticipate a pair of boots getting dunked or drenched or maybe an idiot and stepping off into a stream where I have no business at anticipate that. And so one pair of boots won't do me to last me through, I think we're hunting 9 days, something like that. So I love these for around camp and they are waterproof. So a nice boot to have, but two boots is always good. And last year, I had a pair of crispies, loved them. For a hot minute, once you put on a peric crispy, you initially know they feel good, and then I stepped out the door and I was like, nope, these are going back. Because there was like a weird noise with them. I don't know. Maybe it was just the pair that I got, but I did not like them, and their fit was a little bit off. The Soleil was fit true to size. So if you're a ten and a half, they're going to be as close to a ten and a half as you're going to get. The crispies I find run they run a size larger. So if you had a ten and a half and you needed it like a ten and a half, you're going to have to order a size like ten. So maybe in the more on that I am, I ordered the size ten and a half. And I'm glad that I did because I ordered a pair of sheep feet. Which is super cool. This is basically a custom orthotic and I ordered I ordered the double insulated pair with the stabilization in the back. So this is kind of their high-speed version. You're looking at around, I hate to admit it, that I pay this much and I pray pray. My wife is not listening to this. I doubt she is. Although, that would be a great plan for her. To listen to all my gear podcasts, because a lot of times I'll tell you how much stuff costs. So I might be doing myself a disservice. I'm almost positive I am. But I think it was like right around 260 bucks for these. That's a lot. For custom orthotics, when these doctor Scholes give you a cross comparison to them, these doctors shoals and I'm kind of got them laid out here again. Look at the stability in, I mean, you can tell in the video form, you can tell the stability in the rigidity of a sheep feet compared to a doctor's shoals. And I think that's important to note, this doctor scholl's is built for comfort, not stability. And the reason I will not be wearing these, doctor scholl's in the backcountry, is that, I mean, it is a 100% that. So what they do is they will send you a form. So you order them, you pay for them, you get a form back, and then they send you this kit. And you basically, it's an imprint of your foot. So your imprint your foot and about two to four weeks later, they send you back this custom orthotic that is tuned to your foot. And I'm not joking. This thing is rigid. It's almost like it's got a carbon fiber back because what happened a couple of weeks ago, I was hiking and packing and rocking and I did not have those sheep feet and I'm not saying that it would have solved the issue, but I have kind of weak angle ankles. And I rolled it. I mean, it just popped and I had to I had to halt training for about a week to a week and a half. Because I had a severe sprained ankle. But since then, after wearing the sheet feet and there is a break in period with them, I haven't had that issue. So if you're looking to get started into the season and stuff like that. Highly recommend those. Next, let's go with reindeer. I don't think they make it anymore. But crypto and again, if you see the stuff that I'm taking, I am not biased. As far as like camo patterns, if it works, it works. I fully expect this pair of reindeer not to make it out alive. Given the alders and the rugged terrain around kodiak that we've got a breakthrough to get to the open ground hunt I don't think this range is going to make it. It is over well over ten years old, but it works. And that's why I'm taking it. It works, and that's all I need. I'm going to jump in here real quick from a word from our sponsors. They are great people because I know most of them and we had Daniel Horner on, but sig sauer produces some fantastic firearms. If you're looking for a backcountry gun, there are ten millimeter is about as close to perfect as you're gonna get. 5 inch barrel and just an amazing shooter. And they also, you can outfit it with a Romeo zero pro red dot on there. So fantastic feeling firearm, if you love their P three 20, you're gonna love the X ten from 6 hour, 6 hour dot com.

"Pack some meat out. We have two tags for black tail. You can get up to three. There are 300 bucks a piece. $160 license. And then I went ahead and said, you know what? There's reindeer or Caribou. On the island, so I attacked on one of those and it's going to be about like 600 bucks for that. So those are your prices and they're all done easily online. But that's a pact that everything's going to be housed in. Some of the stuff I am not a 100% sure that I want to take with me every day. But a lot of it is going to be needed. Let's start with the bino system that I'll be running. I'm running a T and K hunting gear. You guys have heard me talk about this before. Gen two by no harness with a rangefinder piggyback we're using some burst optics. For those and I'll go over them on the next one, but I am, I've got a, instead of having like a bear spray or I will have a firearm around at my person for bear protection, but I like to have a piggyback and it's a filo blade works. They recently changed their name to outlier knife company, but they make a fantastic fixed blade, and this is kind of a special addition to my pack. But that's the bino harness I'm running, and that's the range pouch I'm running, and that's the knife, the fixed blade that I'll be running with me. Let's go, let's get, let's just jump into medical because I think that's important on every hunt that you take, whether it's, you know, just in a stand or anything else. I've got a little blue force gear micro trauma kit with a, I guess it's kind of a piggyback or tourniquet. I'll probably carry two cat tourniquets with me. Again, it's a nice little compact size that I can actually attach to the outer shell of the bag that I'm carrying so accessible to everyone. So if something happens to me, you know, a cameraman or someone else can easily access that access that and have immediate aid rendered right there. The next thing I've got, I mean, this is an old bag that I've had this bag for, I don't know. Man, going on a decade or something like that. But it's just a sportsman's first aid kit. You can pick them up at like a bass pro or an academy or something like that. But I included this, I included a few extra things in this, which is the zyrtec, the BC powder, little stuff like that, a little aspirin, anything that I might need. I also have like bandages. It's kind of just a booboo kit. This is nothing like fully extent of a trauma kit or anything like that. I also have these and let me pull it up here that's pretty interesting. Zip stitch closure. So if I get a deep cut or something, I could stitch it up there in the field and close off that wound from getting any extra bacteria in that. So that's something that I would recommend and I mean, on Amazon, they were like 15 bucks or something like that. So a very inexpensive but useful tool to have out in the field. Or just lying around the house, honestly. And that medical kid also includes a chess seal as well. And that's a North American rescue deal. That I've got, and it's got all my alcohol swabs and everything else in there. But when it comes to medical and I know you guys are looking at this going, man, that's a lot of extra weight to be carrying. It's too little kit. There's not, I would rather trade everything I have for that little trauma kit than having nothing and needing it immediately. So it doesn't cost anything a lot extra as far as weights concern to go ahead and include that. I'm going to jump in here real quick. From a word from our sponsors, but you know, anytime you're out in the back country or anything like that, you always got to look at who you use for optics. And if you're night hunting, you know we've talked about ATM a ton. Whether you're in the night vision game or looking to go into thermal, I would highly recommend looking at ATM because they're not $7000. I had a buddy just contact me this week that says, hey, I need some thermal. I just built a new three O 8. I want to shoot coyotes at night. Well, there is a fix for that, because on the ATM website, ATN corp dot com, that's AT and CORP dot com. They do refurbished models. So basically, they have a program where you can take your existing optic and if you're looking to upgrade, you'll send it in, they'll give you an amount of money, you know, I forget what the scale is. But they basically give you that money to put towards a new optic. And they what they do is they refurb those, get them, they're like spanking brand new. And they get them back out. So that's where I directed him to go. So just check them out. And sig sauer. 6 hour. So I shot a long range precision course about a month ago. And really enjoyed it. And I shot it with a hunting rifle, and I was sitting there dreaming of having a production sig cross PRS model. They came out with this gun, and I tell you, it's got the lines of a sig cross, which I love mine. Available in 6.5 creed more. It's light kicking. So it's not going to bust you up. All day on the range or all day on a PRS match. So if you want to learn more about the sig cross PRS model, visit 6 hour dot com.

"So they're compatible with clocked in three style parts. That being said, what we did when we first came up with the concept and the idea because we actually started on the AR side of the house, right? We had an AR 80% polymer receiver. We expanded on that. We developed the industry first polymer three O 8 style, dpms compatible, AR receiver. But we wanted to keep going. As a company, especially in this industry, it's super competitive. So you've got to you've got to really pay attention to the 22 immutable laws of marketing. And one of those laws is be first to market, right? Be first with a product. What do people think of when they think of laundry detergent? They think of tide. Well, tight is a name brand. It's not specific to all of them. Same thing with Kleenex. Kleenex is a brand, but people prefer to tissue. So you got to be first in how you develop products and what you come out to market with. And we were kind of airing towards the side of a 80% 1911 product. But that product has already kind of out there. That was widely available. More on an aluminum capacity, not polymer, but we had the great idea to come out with a Glock compatible frame. Right? The world's most popular handgun, a Glock. Why not develop something that can work in conjunction with their components that people would love, and then from there, build on what people don't like about a block. The number one complaint we've always heard about clocks is that people don't like the grip angle. People don't like the Glock hump on the back end of the grip. So we remove that. We built it in with a 1911 grip angle with the intention of making that natural point of aim when you bring up your sights to obtain your sight picture in your sight alignment to be more like a 1911. We added aggressive texturing that provides for a comfortable but firm grip to the gun. We extended the beaver tail. We added in double undercuts to the trigger guard. So there's a lot of aesthetic feature benefits built into all of our frame products that we offer. That a lot of people who buy a handgun over the counter will send out to a custom shop to have built into their gun. And ended up paying two, three, maybe $400 extra to have those features built into their gun. You get those right out of the box with our product, whether you're buying an 80% frame, or if you're buying one of our complete firearms, all those feature benefits are already there for you. So you don't have to spend the extra money. But we do offer a compact variant. We offer a full sized variant, which would be like your G 17 size frame. We offer a subcompact single stack, as well as a large frame. So for a 45 ACP or a ten mill type build, we then moved into developing a P three 20 style or compatible grip module. Sig did a really great thing with the FCO. They came out with their fire control unit. Yeah, so we offered another option in a grip module, which because of the way sig was able to develop that product, you know, the grip module is not necessarily portion of the gun. The fire control unit is. So it doesn't require serial numbers so that can be sold direct to consumers. No FFL needed. So Dan, you guys keep making adjustments and changes. And over the years, you've had different packages and I think you've made some adjustments and how you're doing this stuff. We're going to take a quick break when we come back from the break. I want to talk about the packages that you guys have started with and have the changes taken place lately. New from sig sauer, the MCX spear LT. Well, you know the MCX platform long been sig sauer's breeding ground for developing the best rifle system in the world. And now they have a new one. This is the spear LT, it's based on its predecessor, the MCX verdis. But it has a lightened handguard. And some other features that has made it very popular with consumers and with the military, chambered in a lot of different things. You've got to check this one out and see what all the advantages are over at sig sauer dot com. Hodgson, you know Hodgson, reloading. Everyone's either getting reloading, trying to do more reloading, but you're going to need powder and you're going to need information. And that's where you go. Hodgson dot com. Hodgson has the reloading data center, which they test all the loads, they figure out what works, what doesn't, the pressures, the bullets, all the different recipes and varieties that you can do. But also, of course, they have powder. I think they've got like most of the powder in the U.S.. So they're the ones to go to when you're thinking about getting into reloading, or maybe changing the load that you've been doing for years, you can't find one powder, you can actually switch and use a different powder, but you just may need to change your recipe. You can learn more at Hodgson reloading dot com.

"Let's talk about that, hey, you know, we owe it to the animal to bring them down quickly, and that's what we all strive to do. Even over in Africa. But in Africa, you're doing it to benefit yourself. That's a 100%. But and your trackers, I guess. I guess your tractors would kind of appreciate you dropping them on the spot or within 20 yards. Totally a 100%. Let's talk about on the other side of this break. Let's talk a little bit about, you know, someone, okay, we've wet their appetite. We've got them excited about suppressors. What's the process that needs to happen for them to get into their new suppressor? And we're going to hit that on the other side of this break. This gun talk hunt is brought to you by sig sauer. The 6 hour cross rifles by far one of my favorites I own one. It is a 18 inch 6 5 creed more. I know, I know, I get a lot of hate thrown my way about the 6.5 tree more, but you know what? It puts down a lot of deer and antelope. So I will probably continue to shoot it on those game. But no, the cross rifle for me is a backcountry hunter's dream, the foldable buttstock on it makes it light compact. It's highly skeletonized and man, it just runs efficiently. I love it. They offered into two 7 7 sig fury, a three O 8. So if you're looking to get into a lightweight backpack type gun, I would say the sig sauer cross is probably a direction you want to look. And if you are a hunter and already have a cross, you're like, well, why is this guy feeding me news about a 6 hour crosswell? Because they also offer in a precision rifle series gun. So if you're getting in the PRS game, I want to shoot across. They've got you covered. At 6 hour dot com. All right, we're back. I can't talk today. It almost seems like a Monday to me. But we are back with Brandon Maddox of silencer central. I appreciate him taking time out of his busy day because he runs, I would say the most efficient at what they do business. They are efficient at getting you in and out of, I mean, you get them online, suppressors, and doing it quickly. Because there was a time when I had to wait, I think my record weight was a year and three months for suppressor. Oh, wow. And we're down to, you know, in that 90 day range, you know? You get the lucky guy who gets his within 14 days or whatever, what is the record? We had one in 9 days. You know, I sort of checked out mentally after that. There's probably been quicker. It's just 9 days. It's arbitrary. Yeah, no, we have seen him in 9 days, yeah, that's crazy. I mean, the hard part is then we get a call from the other 75,000 customers. We have the weighted, you know. Yeah. That are waiting there at like 88 days and they're going, is my special going to be here and it's not a guarantee. I think that's what we need to tell everybody. You're still dealing with a government entity. That you're going to have to cut them some psych, but it is quicker. And I think that's the main goal here is that it is quicker and processes are getting slimline. And that's a lot of, that's a lot, dude. You and your team, how did you guys get started trying to navigate that process and make it easier for guys and gals? A good question. So sandwich are central started like 2005. I really doubled down and started working again shows say like 2009, and honestly, I think the gun shows and the sportsman shows were the best thing we could do because you're seeing the customer face to face. So there's enough gun shows here in the dakotas that you probably get to see them every weekend for about three months. And you're getting real-time feedback on how the process is for the customer real-time. And you hear the pressure points. You hear the frustrations, you hear the potential areas that you can enhance and make better. You know, it's like, hey, I have to send my, you know, at a show we do your fingerprints there. And we take your picture there, but if it's on the phone or online, then you basically just mailed to us. So, you know, the inside of just giving a postage paid return envelope so you can melt anything you need to back to. So just the little things. But then also the bigger things of working with our regulatory authority that's over us, ATF, working with them, where we could streamline all the paperwork, so it's all a 100% digital. So really everything we do from the second you buy until we ship it to your front door, it's all handled digitally. So you could do it from the comfort of your couch and not even really get up. Which most people always say that in life, the easier you make it to spend money, there's a better chance they will. So people have responded it that way. Well, I think the biggest man, you've knocked down a lot of barriers. And I think that's the most important thing for folks to understand is you don't have to go hire a lawyer or talk to a buddy who's a lawyer and say, hey, can you draft up. The paperwork for me or the trust? I know I needed all this. And you guys have essentially just, it's all you guys manage a trust even. That's how thoroughly you guys work with these suppressor fanatics. Yeah, you know, we took the position early on that trust is honestly the best way to buy a suppressor just because it allows join ownership. We can help you

"Ring is supposed to be very specific, but the terrain can throw you an optical illusion. Okay. Elevation from where a huge stance to where the machine sits is absolutely zero. Elevation from where the machine sits to the top of the fence all the way around is two feet. So depending on the lay of the land, the fence could be two feet on this side and it could be three feet or whatever. On the other side, which gives you the illusion of unfair advantage or disadvantage, but it's not. It's just well, everybody's shooting on the same rings, right? Everybody has to shoot. That's right. That's what I was going to ask savior is every ring the same sort of like a skeet field or as every reading a little bit different, more like the stages in sporting clay's course. You ever ring every ring is the same in that the actual specifications or the same and should be met. But every ring is a little bit different. There may be a ditch running through that worrying, which, you know, does things with turbulence when the bird crosses it. There may be a really close tree line that gives you the illusion that the ring is smaller when it actually in, but it works with your mind because it creates a sense of urgency as it will make you shoot quick everything affects how you perceive that target. Yeah, I mean, it's kind of like if you're shooting sporting clays on the side of a mountain or a hill or something and they're throwing clays out into the nowhere distance, it's really messes with your depth perception and that's exactly correct. Exactly right. Man, so what's the background on this sport? How long has it been around? How did it get started? Well, the sport's been around. 40 years, maybe a little bit longer. It actually started in Europe, pigeon shooting in Europe used to be a very elite sport. And it was actually outlawed everywhere except for Spain. Early on. And so they had to have something to do. Thus, the Spanish came up with the ZZ bird. The American version of it was called ZZ birds much early on because the targets were made out of zinc and when they fly they had a zigzag and there's some other theories theories, it might have been named after Spaniards. And I would butcher the pronunciation of it. So I want to attempt it. But the main thing is, you know, this game has evolved. The early machines all had two hits and it was just like loading edge box engines after 5 presentations, runners had to go out there and low 5 targets on and get out of the way only difference is you didn't have to pick up the orange. And now it has evolved into several different types of machines, the machines that we use will hold 50 targets, which make it really nice when you get a hundred plus shooters. In July, right? Yeah. Things move along pretty French. Yeah. And run a big match that way. So Xavier, when we get back from this quick break, I want to talk about the gear being used and how it is the same or different from other shotgun sports. Sig sauer has a new 22 pistol, the P three 22. And it's the most advanced, highest capacity 22 pistol in its class. And they've thought of a lot of features to put in this. First off, 21 round capacity, 20 rounds in the magazine, one in the gun.

"So I want to talk about your deer hunt this year. Last year you had a good hunt, you shot a very nice, was it a ten point? Last year, I think it might have been a ten point, I think. Yeah. This year was a little bit different because we had an extra person in tow. Yeah. We had my little brother tag along. He's now 8. He's small. He's a little guy. So how did you let's let's talk about before season started before, because I think what a lot of our listeners want to know is like, well, how do you prepare your son to hunt for the next season? And I think that's a really good question to start looking at right now. Right now is when you should start prepping them. And taking extra extra precautions. So leading up to hunting season, how did you prepare yourself and what did I have you do every day? Talk about that a little bit. So we have like fired fired the gun without any rounds or so dry fire practice. Dry fire practice. Yes, that's what it's called. It's very useful. Like it gets you in the habit of aiming, not firing at something that you don't want to fire at, and make sure you're exact on your target. So what would you do before, what would you have to do before you started dry fire practice? Well, I would have to recite the four gun rules like, so you would have to say, you know, every gun is always loaded. Yes. So and stuff? Yeah, so you would recite those every before every dry fire practice. And then you would have to check to see if the gun was unloaded, right? Right. And no rounds were anywhere near the gun, right? Right. And then every once in a while, I would sit in there with you, right? Oh, yeah, yeah, you would. And what would I say to you? You would say that there's like a cow out there and I put my finger off the trigger once set and I always try and fire slowly because that's the best way to get the food. Yep. So the reason why we would drive fire, I would sit in his ear basically, right? I would sit in your ear and I'd say, okay, we're replicating this. You know, you were using the tripod that you were going to shoot off of. You were using the gun. You used, and then you were even using the seat that you would shoot out of. And so we try to tie everything together, so you were as comfortable as you could be once you got out in the field. And so I would kind of whisper in his ear. Okay, the deer standing, the deer's not standing right, right? Let him turn. Okay, he's turning. Oh, he took another step, and you could see, you could see jets reaction to it, which I thought was pretty cool because you would go, okay, you would be on that wall of that trigger, and then you'd kind of release it a little bit. And then again, okay, he's perfect. There's nothing behind him, and then he would press the shot. And then he would run the bolt, and then we would kind of almost redo it, maybe a different scenario, a different aiming point on the wall or something like that. But talk about how did your brother do with the dry fire practice? He actually did pretty good for someone his age. Yeah. He did pretty good. He was as he kind of drove a little faster and he since he was, you know, a little you can really use a bolt. The bolt action. It was a little tougher. A little tougher for him, yeah? Yeah, because this year, well, this year we're doing a whole different deal. We're going to developing load specifically for their guns. So they're going to be shooting one gun. It's actually a sig cross. And that actually is a great segue into our first break. We're going to take a real quick break here to hear a word from our sponsors, but silence are central as silence delivered and there's a reason because they deliver everything to your door, which actually is great. I mean, because then you don't have to leave the confines of your home. You don't have to go down to the sheriff's office or police station to get your fingerprints, bring them back. They ship everything to you. And now, with E forms, it's taking roughly around 90 days to get those back. Which is a quicker turnaround than a year. Jet, do you like shooting suppressed? Oh, yes, it's a lot more quieter. And usually it's easier for the youth to fire because, you know, there's not. Anything. See? I mean, jet likes it, and I think you will, too. So you're running a banished 30 this year on the sig cross. So that's going to be great. And that's all from silencer central visit silencer central dot com and sig sauer has they are the new SEC. Don't let that don't let that scare you away. The new sig

"At least in Louisiana. It's a one day class that basically teaches you the four rules of gun safety and the difference between a revolver and a semi auto. It doesn't prepare you to carry. It doesn't prepare you for a self defense encounter. I mean, what is your take on that? Well, it's a false argument for my state because we don't have a class requirement. Okay. George never had one, which is one reason. If you're fill out the paperwork and you qualify, you're done. You're good. And again, that's one of the most important reasons that I still tell people to get their weapons carry license. Georgia is what we call a shall issue state. And as we've all been watching with Bruin and with the Supreme Court, there are only, I think, 6 states that are may issue, which are no longer may issue. The law requires the state to give you a license. That is your right. It's not regulatory. It's not permissive. It is a law that they're required to follow. Hold their feet to the fire, stand on your rights, get the license that they're required to give you. That's what I tell folks. It's one of the most important reasons. If you don't exercise that right, it withers and dies. When you think of sig sauer, a lot of people think of pistols and they make a lot of nice ones, the two two 6 two two 9s, obviously the P three 20, the P 360 five. But what about rifles? Yeah, they make a lot of ARs, but they also have the cross, which is a really modern bolt action rifle. Could be used for just accuracy target shooting, but obviously can you be used for hunting and back country hunting, really, because it's lightweight, has a foldable stock, comes in a lot of different calibers. So if you want something maybe a little bit different, check out the sig sauer cross rifle. There's a reason EOTech optics have been around a popular for so long. And let's go back to the OG. Their holographic weapon sites. These are what we would all call red dot, but it's different technology. And there's some advantages to that with one of the things I like is the EOTech reticle. I call it the EOTech reticle. It's got a big circle with a little dot in the middle. So you have the quick shooting to find that big reticle, the big circle, but you can be really precise with that small one MLA dot right in the middle. And this is stuff that's been trusted by law enforcement and military for years and years. They're still making them, and they're still really good. And it's something you could think about putting on a carbine type gun. So check out EOTech optics. So as we're wrapping up here, Matt, I mean, what are some other little if you have a buddy who is carrying or thinking about caring and they're like, well, you deal with legal defense issues, this net. I mean, there are a top three top two top four, like do this, do this, just don't do this. Yep, and believe it or not, the first thing I'll tell you is if you carry every day, make sure all the lights on your car work. Make sure you don't have any busted tag lights, no busted tail lights. Don't give up the police a reason to put you in a position where you have to decide what to tell them. Yeah. Just go around once a week, once every two weeks, and make sure your tag lights work. Make sure that you put the sticker on your tag. Make sure your emissions are up to date. Little things like that to tell them that you're attention to detail is okay. They don't need to stop you, and you don't have to put yourself in that position. And obviously, the vast majority of people who carry are law abiding citizens, but it's a good point and kind of extending that out of speeding and whatever else be extra law abiding. Well, this is the second point that I would tell you. And maybe this is the most important point. If you are a law abiding gun owner and you carry a firearm every day, you have to be the adult in every situation you find yourself. You have to be the one to walk away. That firearm does not embolden you to have a larger opinion or a louder opinion than any other person. You have to be the one that makes the attempt. I mean, you talked about it a little bit earlier. You're going to do everything you can to get out of having to use your firearm. Sometimes you can't. You're sitting in the back of the auditorium, the guy comes in the front and that's the only way out. You're going to have to do what you have to in the moment to protect yourself and your family. But in every situation that's possible, be the bigger person, be the one who understands that you have more to lose by engaging than by walking away. Apologize, buy my beer, do what you got to do. You know what? Except out of here. Except the bird, except the one fingered salute. Yeah. And don't return it and move on. You've got to be the bigger person. That's the reason that we are law abiding gun owners because we understand that we have the power of life and death. And we should only use it in the event to prevent our death of the death of another person. Good advice. Thanks for being with us, man. Hey, this is great. Love this place. Yeah, and this is U.S. law shield, it's legal services for people who carry guns. Right. They call it legal defense for self defense. There you go. In every state, it's different in some states it's insurance and other states it's not. What I tell folks. And again, I don't sell it what I tell folks is if you go to the length of getting firearm training, trying out a bunch of handguns before you find one that's the best fit for you and then training with that firearm to protect yourself, protection doesn't stop at the moment that you use that firearm. It's only just begun. So protect yourself after you've protected yourself and talk to U.S. launch. There's a longer battle ahead of that short little battle you just had. Absolutely. It's only just begun in some cases. Wow. All right, so there you go. It's your duty to keep trained up, but if you're a duty to be familiar with the legal side and your state, everywhere you go. That's it for us. We'll see you next time. I'm gonna talk nation.

"All right, it's part two with Jimmy Hamilton and we're talking hunting and every day where that is lifetime guaranteed. This gun talk hunt is brought to you by silencer central, silence delivered, and gun dealio. If you go there, one of the cool things is we got to view a little bit behind the scenes when Jimmy walked us through the building and man, they've got, they've got all kinds of stories about their products in house fires and they dropped it off the back of the truck, which I'm sure none of us have ever done before. And they replace it. I mean, it's really cool. Which kind of brings me into clothing. Which is kind of a weird transition there. It is weird because you guys told me this, and I was like, well, how does that work? They stand behind their clothing, too. And I've got a lot of pieces that are clothing, and I absolutely love it. What made you guys decide to just get heavy into the clothing? Business. I think, man, I can go into a couple of things. I'll go into a few reasons. One, when it started, it was just a branding thing, you know? We wanted to be able to have. And honestly, a lot of it was internally. We got employees who were like, hey, we want to wear some shirts that save vortex on them. That was how things got going. But then I'd say we kind of looked around and if you look at our employees here, generally speaking, they are kind of also our customers. There's not any divide. If you walked into vortex, you'd be like, oh, these are all the people I expect to be working. Because they all hunt. They all shoot. They enjoy the outdoors, whatever. And we started noticing that a lot of them show up in the eclectic mix of clothing that is like some hunting brands, some total granola crunching hippie brands, you know, but they make good clothes. Random t-shirts they got given at some rock festival. Or if you're in Wisconsin, it's probably a meat raffle or like a cheeseburger master beer fest. It was just like, it just super eclectic mix of stuff. There wasn't a whole lot from an apparel company that kind of echoed all the values and everything that we have. Yes, there are great brands in this space that make clothes, maybe for example, they're really heavy into like just hunting or they're really heavy into like just shooting, just tactical, everything's all about that. What kind of like for your average guy or gal who's going to wear something to work and then wear it out to the bar and then maybe also, you know, like the next day, they want to wear something that's going to do the same thing and go out to check trail cams. You know, it's like your everyday kicking around clothes. There wasn't a whole lot of that from clothing brands that really echoed all of our values. So we kind of thought we could be a company in that space to do it. And it's a little funny coming from an optics company. I think at first for people. But now, honestly, I think if you look around and you see the apparel team that we have here and I mean, it's legit stuff. There's actual technology that goes into the clothing. It's actual custom garments. It's stuff like that. And I mean, we're hitting it. We're going, we're going right at it. Well, and that's everything from t-shirts to sweatshirts to jackets to beanies to socks. I mean, to shorts. I really want to see you guys start kind of dipping those toes into the hunting solids. Because that's what I enjoy hunting out of. And it's clothes that, man, I could, you know, where to a bar, I could wear to a Wednesday night church service if I needed to, you know? And it still looks good. It's form, it's function. And man, I love seeing what you guys are coming out with and it's just different. Yeah, that's we go for it. That's the point. That's the point, right? Be a little different. But yeah, yeah. The hunting solids, I absolutely love and there are. Man, you guys have on your website. I think it's like 20 plus pages of clothing options just for the guys. Now you guys are doing a whole ladies line, you guys have the kids covered. Any accessories, you guys are doing stickers and patches. I mean, it's something for everyone. Sig sauer, I've talked about 6 hour cross. We've talked just about it every firearm that you could think of. One that we don't hit on as much as we really need to is the P three 20 X ten. 15 rounds of ten millimeter, and I'm telling you what, if you're a backcountry hunter, if you just like hiking in the backcountry, you need to have protection. And I'm going to tell you right now, I've tested out bear spray. I'm not impressed, all right? What I am impressed about is power. Power comes from a ten millimeter and the P three 20 is perfect for it, 5 inch slide. Easily concealable if you need to, but realistically you're going to carry it on a hip. You're going to carry it on a shoulder rig. You're going to carry it on a chest rig. So having that amount of power is going to be crucial design built here in the USA, 6 hour dot com. I'm telling you

"Reconsider reconsider how you look at it. Because there are other reasons. There are other people using and utilizing feeders aside from just shooting them over one. And here's a prime example. Texas this year. I was invited on a hunt and it was with silencer central. And I did everything I could to hunt the outside edges of feeder units or feeder areas to and the deer were coming in. This is a 16,000 high fence hunt. That's a whole nother subject, and that's a whole nother violent day that I will encounter at one time and I'll have someone on here who is really against it. If you're really against it, reach out to me. I'll have you on. We'll have a friendly conversation about it. But I could not. We were looking for a 150 inch deer. Like a specific one. And we went to multiple areas trying to find a deer. Couldn't find them. And last evening of the hunt. I was like, fine. I'll sit in a box blind the feeders 200 yards away. He was there. Okay, it just worked out. And I'm thankful it did, because I got to bring some meat home. Sometimes, I mean, it's okay. It's okay. It'll be fine. If you choose a feeder, it'll be fine. But just don't give up on them so quick because man, if you're in big hardwoods and you're in a big pines, good gosh, man. How are you going to how do you find here in some of those areas? Where your shot may only be 15 yards. You've got to concentrate them somehow and if you don't have big excavators and you don't have the means or to plant, why not use them? Why not? I'm just saying, I'm just saying, all right. Word from our sponsors. Sig sauer, many of you know, I've got the cross rifle. It's available in two 7 7 sig fury, three O 8, 6.5 crew more, and I can't say any more. But they're coming with some other stuff. I've already said too much, but the cross rifle was by far one of my favorite, especially if you're a run and gun hunter. Like myself, if you head out west and you don't want a big, you know, a big suitcase bogging you down. My recommendation, what I've done before is get a rifle. They weigh 6.6 pounds. They were lightweight. They are very accurate threaded barrel. You can attach a suppressor on it, which I highly recommend. I love it. My boys love it. But check them out at 6 hour dot com. I think you'll like what you see, the cross rifle is legit. And timney triggers. I replace all my triggers. Almost all of them. But the Remington 700, I've outfitted all my custom rifle. I absolutely love. And I think I can speak for everyone around the gun talk offices that have seen me do gunsmithing work. I am not one. However, I can do this. And so if you're like me, if you're a guy who just likes to mess around with kind of easy gunsmithing projects, replacing your trigger with a timney trigger is probably the simplest task you will have on your plate. I cleaned a gun a few weeks ago and I can tell you it was easier than that. So find out more at Timmy triggers dot com. All right, we've gone gone down the what the how, the why, now which one? Because there's a lot of feeder companies out there. And I want to first, I want to first say this podcast that's going to talk on a podcast. It's not brought to you by any feeder company. Moultrie, none of those. So just a heads up, everything I say from this point forward is simply and purely based off of personal experience. There is one feeder that I have found that is indestructible from cattle. And hogs. Those are your two nemesis right there. Because cattle will get in there, they'll rub up on the legs, they'll bend the legs. You're going to go into your feeter set or you're going to go set that feeder and it's going to be trashed. But there's one. There's one company that I've used. And now I haven't used all of them. This is the one that I put my money towards, and I purchased, and it took me, it took me a couple of years to save up for it. I'm not going to lie. It's a more expensive one. But you'll like what you get, it's from HB hunting products. And I don't know why, but their site is down and I'm scared to death, they're not producing them anymore. But you can find them at various grain or feed stores and stuff like that. So my best advice is to go on to a Google or something like that. Type in HB feeder, it's the HB 1000 pound easy reach feeder. So it sits lower. And it holds a thousand pounds of whatever you want to put in it. Early season, I'm putting corn, and then I'm going to transition to when it gets into December. A corn and soybean mixture. I don't put a lot of attractants in my feeders. I don't know why I don't because I figure the deer will find them. And some of the cornmeal or anything like that that I would throw out. I haven't found that they like it as much in my area. I know a lot of guys have different mixtures that they'll put that they absolutely love. But oh, yeah, hogs love anything. So whatever you're putting in, if you've got hogs in the area, just plan on shooting every hog that comes into that. But the HB feeder and I did a video on this a few years ago and my recommendation and it still is to this day is to save up your money by the very best you can. Little flimsy legs, you got for the polls that they use typically on a mole tree feeder that you'll buy I just haven't found that those are effective or they stand the test of time. I've got too many that are down and the head unit on the HB feeder is tough. Well just how tough is it? Okay, so this year and I've talked about it before on the show. My son is sitting there. He lets the deer clear of the feeder. He shoots the deer. Deer runs off dead within 15 yards. Awesome shot. Great job. The next morning I go out and that was when my buddy came in to hunt and I said it and Peter didn't go off. Well, that's I heard it run..

"Down here on the flat ground. I mean, you know, most of the time, it's a mile, maybe two miles at the max that you're actually trying to follow on a GPS. So you got the GPS signal in a lot of ways. And I'm sure you can hear the dog, you know, bay and just like we could hear dogs. Down here. Absolutely. But I was wondering in those mountains if you could even hear. So that's one thing. One thing we'll do, if we lose them and we can't get a track or anything, we'll just get up to the highest point we can and listen, listen there, try and get signaled back to the GPS. Yeah. Well, we are sitting, I mean, a lot of people listen to this podcast, obviously, is a podcast, but we do film it. And we're sitting in the lodge here and there are a bunch of big hogs behind us. I actually didn't even talk about that. I did get to shoot a hog. Yeah, you did. We were on this sugarcane farm. And it was just a kind of a target of opportunity situation. We saw this group of hogs about 400 yards off. We snuck to about a 150 yards. And one thing we didn't talk about is that voodoo scope, the illuminated reticle, and I mean, we're talking a black reticle on a black hog, can be kind of a challenge, a little bit. And I totally cheated and said, eliminated. Here we go. Yeah. Red reticle on. And that was helpful. And again, one of the reasons we come do these things is kind of testing it and seeing what are some of the features that make sense. And sometimes we find stuff that doesn't make sense in some of these media events, but I mean, this is something that's not like a pre-production. This is out there in the wild. It's squared away. Sig sauer. Hey, have I talked about the cross yet because I'm actually pretty sure I've talked about the sig sauer cross many times, probably right here on the podcast. But I own one of these. I love the gun and it fits all those notches that I need in a back country. Lightweight on the go hunting rifle. It's available in three O 8, two 7 7 6 sig fury. 6 5 creed more and that comes with an 18 inch barrel. That's the one I've got because I like to add a suppressor on it. And so it gives me a little bit more in barrel length, but it's got a folding precision stock. And man, I love the looks of it, but you know me, I've got to customize it. I had a custom surrogate job put on it, and it looks so sweet. What is this design and built here in the USA, you've got to go check this gun out, you will want one, especially if you put your hands on because that folding stock is you.

"Yeah. Three inch load. Yeah. I was shooting, I was the first to shoot. So I think everybody else learned from my first shot, but so I wasn't even holding the shotgun down. I was just on a bag and I had a good rest, but when I pulled the trigger, that whole shotgun went out, my shoulder went back and, you know, you could see in the video that these guys had my eyes open up because I was not expecting that kind of recoil, but man, does that put, it's the difference between, you know, confidently hitting something after turkey or so at 30 yards to these guys are confident shooting that load up to 7 or 80 yards. It's really crazy with these turkey loads, but I mean, I think we looked it up and it was something like a 980 grain bullet, the equivalent of a 980 green bullet. And talk about a durability test putting this small red dot on that big 12 gauge with those types of loads. And I don't think we had any issues at all, right? Well, no, I don't think we had any issues. Health zero real well and actually didn't even have. We had multiple users. So a lot of times, I know an AR is somebody who picks up a different AR, they might shoot differently than that person has zeroed it. And we didn't have any issues. I think I was the last to use one of the shotguns and I held right on and killed. So there was no adjustment, no change at all. It was rock solid. Yeah, I had gotten there a little late, so I missed out on the fun of siding in, but they said, hey, when you shoot this, be careful. This is a lot of recoil. And so I kind of had that in the back of my head as I was doing my turkey hunt. But I'll be honest, I had so many things going on with this turkey and trying to shoot it that when I shot, I didn't even experience the recoil because I was so focused on the turkey. We're going to be right back after this quick break. The STK 100 from arms corps Rock Island armory is their new and their first striker fired pistol, 9 millimeter. It's an aluminum frame and it has a lot of features that are reminiscent of 19 11s because that really is their heritage, the grip angle, the extended beaver tail. But it also has those modern features like a 17 round capacity, updated optics plate, and they just lowered the price to four 9 9. Check them out at arms core dot com. In in that case we see an investigation by by her department in which six-hour has some participation and and issued a A written report of its own. Okay so what is the gun maker saying then. The gun maker didn't respond to our requests for comment but but we know from their public statements. And what the what. They've said about previous cases that they stand by the gun. The company calls it safety without compromise. And says we've designed safety elements into every necessary feature on this pistol. They don't think anything is wrong with it. And some cases. They've blamed plaintiffs for for negligence for mishandling. The gun did you. Did you grow up around firearms. I grew up in the country. Southeast texas we. We have firearms everywhere in the case of britney brittany hilton their theory is that some foreign object got somehow into the wholesaler of her gun into the trigger guard of her of her gun. And somehow 'cause the gun to discharge. She showed us how how how seamlessly the gun fits into the matching holst unloaded double check. Triple check that turner covered. There's no way for the trigger to. I mean you can't get anything into the tertre. There's nothing you can stick in. That would make that trigger pool even if the gun was out a little bit so the idea that something in your purse somehow would have had to enter their and then and then would have to enter in there. While while i'm carrying my purse something would have had a wedge in there and how to make emotional pullback and then pull the trigger. She says it's not even possible. Both the bridge city department and the officer of concluded. Now that that this was an uncommanded discharge and so you spoke to detective. Hilton enter lawyer. Three twenty handgun in two thousand seventeen. Six hour offered a what they call the voluntary upgrade to its customers. There were a lot of changes. It was expensive. Our firearms consultant at abc. News said is very substantial update. In my opinion the only reason segue done that as if they knew there was a safety problem with the original gone otherwise they would not have done it. We do know that at that point. Six started manufacturing all p. Three twenties with the upgrade and so Hilton given the recency of her incident is certain that she got She she had been issued the upgraded version and still it. According to her went off on commission she had the upgraded for. I thought you were going to be like you know since this thing. They've made his upgrade. You're saying she had the upgraded gun. She had the upgraded version. I have not seen enough to convince me that the upgraded versions dangerous.

"You don't take long shots typically right mid west maybe a little bit more you can reach out. I have familiarity with some more longer range shooting. I think most people think of that thousand yard right a marked for long range shooting. I would say more comfortable in that intermediary you know four and six hundred yard range which i think. That's that's more of like that would be longer range but doable range for hunting. Application housing thousand yards. Most times is not. That's not hunting down here a lot. Be sneaky get closer. You do so definitely killed. You know big game animals at ford five hundred six hundred yards personally. Not as comfortable taking a shot beyond that. Have a lot of fun trying when you're on the range right. You know the thing. I like about this is that there's time in between you know you hear about this thirty minutes. And then fifteen minutes to shoot rate see. I'm used to like ten yards club dust regroup and have a hug talk about it a little bit and then go out there and do remember running a mile and thirty minutes so i should be okay targets. There's one thousand yard bonus stage. It's got a big four foot steel target to hit the thousands. That's not part of the real. That's a bonus stage if you will just for fun but the ten stages The targets ranged from about fifty yards out to about four fifty. So there's very realistic from one hundred like it from my perspective too. Because you know. I'm going to have that professional that i can bounce ideas off of what you don't get to do enough as a shooter is to sit around in real time talking about how you're looking at this target how you're evaluating this shot and the beauty to for me on this one said i have had my hands on the system yet. Something that i've that i've wondered about it. Is it too much optics is it not as electronics is everything i see. Says it makes a lot of sense. It's very applicable to what we do in the hunting realm and so to be able to take this thing out not worry about my job before he more about my winded right to me that there's a comfort level in that it takes one less thing out of it and and helps you make those shots that are maybe okay one hundred yards. No problem no worries. But maybe he's three hundred seventy five yards and he's downhill and you're going. I'm not really sure exactly. I mean for those listening. Who maybe you're familiar with that. I don't know how they wouldn't be. But the sig sauer system. Obviously sig sauer is an optics company. A pretty big one at this point and it's the range finder talking to the scope. That's on your rifle. And the radical adjusts in their based on range. Is that about right. Tom yeah basic. It's giving you a whole so you don't it takes that part of your right. It takes that part of it out of it. So you don't have to think about your hold you're just thinking about. Is there any. I need to allow for. But you know elevation all those kinds of things are out of it. And you know they'll have to work together as a team and and we hadn't been using the binocular version of the range finders classing the arranging range final. Talk to the the optic it'll give your whole then you can shoot so i love that by knows with a range finder. Now you're not you don't have to different things. You just your glasses for the animal and then you just range them right there. Kind of one less step yeah. What are those finals called those. Those are two six z texas. Okay and i think it's a great test of the bdo. Texas what are the. What's the other year. We're gonna have to cross rifle so they'll have a custom cross rifles designed for the competitors to take home with them when they're done But they'll have the system. We're actually when i leave. We're actually going to give them a little supply ama- which may be the greatest benefit of the whole thing. But i mean we have a number of sponsor ex. Oh backpacks you've already. You've already picked up your gift. Pack but They have a backpack. They have shooting bags You know when you look down at. There's a just below the hill here where we are. There's a tent city and we have tents nemo note all the competitors are staying in tents to make it even that more often here. the largest launched phenomenal. Those people say so. It's a it's a great hardship inside the lodge. I can tell you had to turn the thermostat down last a little bit. But there's the tensor potted tense from nemo in little by.
