Rocking at the Rose Bowl: UCLA Upsets LSU

"Bruce you had a a i would say you know even better than front row seat for one of the more Eventful results from saturday. You were the sideline reporter for lsu ucla. You've been telling us for months that. Ucla was gonna be this much improved physical team. I was very skeptical. I think most people were skeptical though. That's exactly what they went and did to. Lsu what was it like. There are at the rose bowl. Stu my ears are still ringing from last night It was a really fun atmosphere. I know a lot of people. Don't last week notice. There's so many empty seats at the rose bowl when they played hawaii and they kind of just kind of smirk at at the vibe around the rose bowl and the place was Was basically packed and there was a bunch of lsu fans but it wasn't. I won't point. I thought it was gonna be fifty. Fifty was probably seventy five. Twenty five or so Ucla but it was really good energy in the building. I thought from our meetings. We went to practice on friday. Just a lotta confidence about what they they feel like. They have become at ucla and chip. Kelly told us we gotta remember the for context when he first got there they had sixty three players go through spring. They had one hundred fifteen this year and the the first year at fifty seven scholarship guys may be seven. Scholarship offense alignment now. They're well over eighty scholarship guys. It's just it built to this. And so i think like you. Lsu it was really interesting. Tommy moffitt is lsu strength coach. And he's been at lsu for a long time but before that he was at tennessee. He's been around some big big time programs and he said he was while they are a really good-looking football team watching them. More mob

He couldn't stay away even though he's traits in all over the country. Rob parker is on the guest. Line what up. Y'know what's happening. And how you guys doing. The magic city. Monday up ryan. You know i went to atlanta with. Did he also a game in denver. then i Went to washington dc this past weekend. All i'm doing is a Seeing friends going out the ballgame eating having lunches today. I was in charlotte and met with about ten friends. Who live down. There was great. And now i'm in chicago. I just landed and going to white sox game going to say lewis on thursday for cups cardinals game. Cincinnati on friday for reds game and beaten friends. And then you know. wrap it up in richmond. Virginia seeing some other friends and family. And then i'll be back in la so it's just you know after kobe. Not seeing people For a long time. Just kinda wanna like Get back out there and see some people in with people and talk with people. So that's what i've been doing my vacation a a a roth. Forgive my ignorance. But you're actually at the game with the shooting in made from the outside goes if they were soon now. I might want to stay where were but seriously. Take this incident scene. We're glad you're okay. Glad to my understanding. No one was hurt or injured. But what was that like man and where were you man so so we we were sitting on the first base side like near right field so we heard the shots there with three of my buddies and when we heard the pop-pop-pop pop pablo like six or seven shots. I turned to my friends. And i'm like do dole's were shot. So then we look up over where the shots came from which was like the third base. concourse and then all of a sudden we see people running to the senate feel you know exit and i'm like look at those products going on like they're running for their lives so we see that. I look back down on the field. None of the players or the umpires anybody's on the field or in the dugout. So we're like man. Something's happening so we're looking around and still you just don't know what's going on. We know we heard shots. But we didn't offer what's inside or outside so we decided let's get out of the building we get up get on the concourse we start heading towards the centerfield exit gate and then all of a sudden like a stampede. A people start racing our way women screaming and carrying on it was like it was unbelievable. Like people just like going resort. It was chaos. So we see this. And i say to myself. There's only one thing going on here..

"And you mentioned it a little earlier about you know jaanus hearing the blurbs from the media and it's kind of our job to say easy batman robin and you know we. We started stuff up our jobs but janas listens to it. Do you feel like he's at a place. Where here's the criticism. And his like do lizzy. This is get back to basketball. We're at a point in time. It kind of bothered him or frustrated and a little bit and he would press a little more. But i think even before you answer like saying well kevin the best player on the planet. He got it but we beat. We won the series. Let's move forward. What's his mental place is he in that you've seen as far as the media the mess we stir up. I think he's trying to have fun with it. Especially in a press conferences and i think that's a big difference. Hey i'm just gonna fun. Like i gotta do this part of it and most guys will say it's not their favorite part of the job but has the perspective of i might as well have fun and crack some jokes and make it enjoyable for himself and then you know outside of obligations i really think. He shuts things off as much as he can. You know i mean you know guys will say i'm not really on social media and It's not necessarily the case. I think as much as he can and he tries to stay off and of course you have people around you and your family and your circle. They're like hey. Did you see this. So there's ways right to stay up to speed with. Maybe what the narrative is at the time but for the most part i really do think he he tries to stay true to just you know campaigning for themselves and not worrying about what all all of us are saying gore. Stevenson bali sports. Wisconsin milwaukee bucks sideline reporter joining the odd couple now. Phoenix had beaten after game two. They're beating the bucks four times off for meetings this season. I know the two regular season games were closed. Jrue holiday didn't play one of them still. They beat them four straight and now obviously phoenix won the last three. What adjustments or differences. Do you see or did the bucks make to kinda turn this thing around. Yeah i think it was pressure defensively activity and then really like making shots and and knocking down shots and home crowd. That's really the bucks. This entire playoff run. I can't quite like they haven't been able to articulate exactly what it is about being home you know. They tend to list off all the things that everybody else. Has it home right like you get sleeping your own bed. And you've got all your resources the training facility and all the things obviously the crowd. But it's something about milwaukee where the books just play better at home. I was just doing press game five because that was the game. Really where you know. The sun's really wanted that one and so for the bucks to pull it out And just figured out down the.

Definitively jason kidd took his team to the championship and lost a shack and kobe and air prime in got him a ring. Later on now okay. Here's here's my argument. I'll real one. Jacob was phenomenal. Okay but jake kid where he got that ring. You know he. By that point. He was a role player. Average eight point six assists. He was a role player on that team. Maybe new six hundred something like that. You know that so. That wasn't jae kit in his prime lead. It is probably went further relieved and he did lead. The nets is was a little suspect at that point. Which has for the past game but still what's next autumn. You almost two all. Has jacob be employs per game.

I never realized that you were such an avid football fan door football, Especially at the end of this planet with teams get together and cover. You mean Hubbell. Okay, well, with principal down to our sideline reporter by Bear, Fozzie, are you there? Yes, I am. Kermit. How you how you Fozzie Bear? Here It was. It was pretty good as I was watching you last night. I've found this new thing with the Muppets in this year of my life, mostly to you. I've just opened up my mind. I watched the movie with Jason Segal. I watched the show that was on ABC. I've got more love in my heart for the Muppets than most, especially in this age of my life. And as I was watching idea, is this translating to the average football fan but taking a peek around Twitter? Not a lot of negativity, Not a lot of people having problems with the Muppets taking over Monday night football, So I think whether it's finding entertaining voices T B, you know, to commentate for Monday Night football. I think Monday night football specifically is open to doing Maura Weird things like this involving other forms of entertainment, because I think it could be more widely accessible than a Sunday game. I mean, it's on Monday night, maybe you get things to get other people who wouldn't normally tune into a foot. Ballgame. Tow Watch. When are them up? It's going to scare somebody away. If you've got some Muppet break ins are isn't gonna scare away a football fan. I don't think so. Cincinnati Pittsburgh game Yeah, Hell of hell of a game. Shocking ending. Oh, Joe Biden spoke a short time ago and I don't know I'm just opening the conversation here. And I remember when it was when there was a big debate on what Trump should have said early on in the Corona virus pandemic cause if you remember things came out that he knew more than he let on and he kept coming out and saying, Why didn't just I didn't want to scare everybody. I didn't want it to be all doom and gloom and some people Said. Oh, yeah, that makes sense and other people thought we need the truth. Well, in this clip of audio, I'll play.

"Keys to the game presented by Evanston, Subaru in Skokie. I had a hunch as we bring it out of the hold. Our sideline reporter gets out of the rain for just a moment. I had a hunch that Coach Pat Fitzgerald might use the term ball security in our pregame conversation, and he certainly did. It's that kind of day. Yeah, nice and toasty and warm up here, but down there, where where I was down there with Fitz. It Z cold and it's wet. It's very wet Ball security is gonna be huge. Unique circumstances here today, guys in many ways you have the it's a rivalry game, but there's awful weather. There's covert. That's been going on. Who wants it more? You know, I think if you look at it from Illinois side That there's Would be almost understandable. If you had some players out there just going, You know, what are we doing here? It's been a crazy season. We have a losing record. The weather is awful. But you know the injuries that you guys talked about earlier. That opens the door for some younger guys that probably hadn't played a whole lot. And they're gonna be motivated to come out here and play. So Northwestern. Just you have to stay kind of laser focused on this game, not look ahead to next week, but at the same time You know, there's some things in this game. They're gonna ply the next week. Ted, like you've got to figure out a way to get that running game going now, because if you can't do it today, that really raises some questions about how you're gonna do it next week in Indy. Well, this calls for a running game day all the way and I look it Running back's going to be used today. Drake Anderson, who obviously has been the workhouse workhorse here recently, number one Russia with 252 yards, but we're gonna see a lot of camp order today, so only that it carries for 32 yards, but he had that one fabulous touchdown. 20 yard run, And then also you've got Evan Hall, who also is a redshirt freshman. I'm not much you're about as a A Bowser. He hasn't really played a whole lot in the last couple weeks since that fumble. It was here against Wisconsin. But this is a day where you have to take advantage of those injuries on The ally in my defense, run the football and run it often remembered as Dave just said earlier. 378 yards a year.

"Josh is also the sideline reporter is this is the first year 6 10 is the radio flagship. Just like we've been away for over 50 years, and he and Bob do Fesco in the mornings right there on 6 10, the biggest sports station there in Casey, so we will get to them. In just a minute. We know it's going to be called on DH. Whether will certainly be an issue with the cold and snow mix. It's never fun but can drew lock redeem himself after what we saw last year in Kansas City, playing about 15 20 mins from where he grew up there, and Arrowhead, just three points, Mustard By the Broncos as the chief's meeting 23 3 Patrick Holmes, even though he grew up in East Texas, played his college ball at Texas Tech. He seemed to have no problem at all throwing the ball in this. No, I don't really think there are Elements that affect Patrick Mahomes. Now the Broncos are getting healthy at the right time. And so they made a bunch of moves to correspond with guys getting healthier dream on Jones to Marcus Walker to defensive linemen are coming off. Injured reserve and maybe more importantly, age. A boy. The cornerback who they traded for from the Jags former pro Bowler only played one half of football against the Titans before he Dislocated his shoulder in that first half their Adam Power Field mile high that Monday night game so he was reactivated or I guess activated from Ai R. To make room for all of these moves, the Broncos released Devante Bobby, I imagine they're going to try to sign him back to the practice squad. They also really Sylvester Williams, who there looking rather who they already brought back to the practice squad. Yesterday is my understanding. So ah. When you look at it. Them getting healthier. It's coming at the right time. Plus, no offence will be back in the mix, and I think we'll see some no offense, Albert, no formations. You also get Melvin Gordon coming back from strep throat. Yes, he had a really tough week last week because in addition to strep throat, he also was arrested on suspicion of DUI in Denver last Tuesday night. Still waiting for all the details of that to come out and in the punishment will occur at the league level. After everything plays itself out in court and KJ handler back Drew Locke talked this week about how excited he is to really get on the field and finally work with Hamlin. Hamlin played in that Steelers game, and we know Drew went down after about 10 places just five throws, and he completed just that. That one past, so we know that stopping the Chiefs is all about stopping Patrick Mahomes. That kind of goes without saying and shall be Harris on Friday's been maybe the Broncos best defensive player, at least if you look at the pro football focus numbers he's been Great knocking the ball down to the line of scrimmage and and really good against the run and in terms of creating pressure up the middle Teo in passing situations he down played this. Cheese game, and maybe it's I was putting on a brave face but not blowing this game out of proportion, looking at it as just another game. I'm not sure if it's true or not, but here's what he said about trying to stop this nine game win streak. And how big is this game against the division rivals? This is another game for us to go in there and get better, You know, you know, based upon the point first responders season. You know, you wanna go out there and make a statement? You know, in the struggle that we have been taking everyone out there from one of the six or seven out forever. You really are. You know, play Denver Bronco football and you know, it's just We want to play with the confidence that we played last week. I want to be the same guys without their ball in making place. And on the other side of the ball drew lot knows. He and his Broncos teammates on offense is gonna have their hands full with Chris Jones on the most athletic defensive lineman in the league, and when he's dialed in as good as anybody, maybe this side of Aaron Donald Honey Badger Tyron Matthew Planet all pro level last year, and then Frank Clark coming off the edge is certainly one of the elite pass rushers in the league's thieves. Magnolias defense can really dialed up helps because the offense is scoring so many points. So here's drew lock on attacking that cheese defense. We can expect them to come out of that kind of their defense. So they got God is love the Russian pastor Tara Matthews to extremists killed back there, especially with Russian passion. Pastors. Well, all their corn status to make plays on the ball is a tough task for us. Found out and we're near the defending Super Bowl champs. You're pretty good in just about every category. The Chiefs are top five or top 10 and just about every single category on offense for sure and a bunch on defense. The number three in yards for game at 4 17 number four in yards for play number nine and points for Game six in the league in rushing yards, seventh and passing yards. Patrick has only been accepted wants the entire year. They've only lost three fumbles. They've given the ball away just four times. You do that Math have only allowed seven sacks, and they're down percentages second best in the league or the Broncos, currently ranked 29th on offense on third down their Red zone offense is ninth in the league. The Broncos are 30th now. Defensively, the Broncos are the ninth best team on third down, so maybe they Khun slow the Chiefs down there. The Broncos, the only spot where their top 10 yards per play at 5.19, there also 11th in points per game, so they tend to play the chief stuff and They just haven't been able to get over the hump in recent years. Here's Garrett Bowls on how this team looks at this nine game losing streak to their division rivals on the course for man, you know, not in a row. That's unacceptable for an organization like this song. We want to be the best that we can be. I feel like we have a special group of gas in locker rooms. Guys get away and guys do little things, right? No. Last week, I did a phenomenal job with little things became out. Our GBS is going to step up like this. These are jobs that controlled field because ing on their offenses of our offense. That's Cory allow points so we could stay on the field and do our job. Take care of all of them will come out where we need to be. Well, you know, Broncos country is keeping their fingers crossed that that'll be the case. Let's start a little bit more about these defending to rule chance yesterday on TV a lot. Yes, we know a lot about you see him twice a year. You know how good Patrick Jones is. But we're gonna talkto Josh Cleveland from 6 10 sports. He's also the chief sideline reporter Bob Fesco. "9 30 foot drop. As the Golden Knight. Take on the Blackhawks in Edmonton. See nobody would be a home team. Then that will be good and we'll be joined coming up in the six o'clock hour by our friend, gizmo. Niki's mommy is going to be here. Hey, has been your Blackhawks sideline reporter for this season. Very fun. Dude, we have enjoyed bring him into the Roe, Conn. Show family and he will be here with us in the sixth block our the after 6 30 Talking about what? And he was with the Golden Knights. Right before he was with the Black Hawks. So we've got that going for us this time. It's personal. Yeah, his personal form. We'll have to see. You got a good hockey accent. I like any guy with a hockey accent. Even though he's from the United States of America. You guys have a hockey accident when they were born here in the United States. It's just it's a thing. I guess all right. On we have that's coming your way, And this is my car and then coming up in just a few minutes. Riddle me this row If you wantto play that game, Riddle me this row for the line up 31 to 91. 7200. If you want to do that, we've got prize. We got a $75 gives Vivi it from Green tea home services, and we also have $50 gift certificates from builders supply. So I like to play a riddle. Me. This is where we I read a riddle and you have to figure it out. You have a minute to figure it out. I tried it last week. It was a Jane enormous success. Shocking even to me. People like it. I think that I've found and this is sexist to say, Kevin, But I found that ah that women are better at the riddles than men. No, I don't think it's sexist, but we should probably ask him or marry for it officially, but they they're smarter. That is in general, right? I mean, it's kind of good. We did good yesterday until you threw us under the bus and gave us those hard ones. Exactly. I think I rallied though in the last one. Yeah, Kim was really good at it. Against policy, and Lauren was shouting. Very fun. No, that doesn't happen in here. Kevin. You know, Lauren is the new cheating mechanism. Remember, Judy used to have a cheating mechanism in the newsroom When we play news, a route is a ruse. Anytime you ask Judy a question that just happen to be typing all of a sudden right after that she had the Google machine. Is always something anyway s o. I would then like not to accuse Lauren of that, and people have been texting me like Oh, Where's Lauren? Lauren is now a reporter and anchor and feeling anger at the W G and Newsroom, which is also going to be a digital platform for the news nation News product, which is premiering on W G N America. On September 1st. So there you go. Congratulations to everybody. People have been asking, And I'm answering that question. I would like to make a bet with you before we get to this, though I would like to make a bet with you, Kevin. Not that I would like to make this bet. That the S E C will be the on ly football program. They're going to play amongst themselves. Do they have 14 teams or the 16 teams? 14 teams, okay, 14 teams as well. All right, so they're going to they're going to play a I'm going to guess like an eight game schedule. I just find it just the way the SEC is that I would be surprised if they do completely scrapped their football season. I do, too. I would you know, and even reading the commissioner from the SEC statement today. Ah, not taking a shot by any means. But he was seemed a bit sceptical as to why Big 10 and Pac 12 leaders decided to take this route Southeast conference Now, while very interested now, while them boys of North decided not to go along with season here. But down here around Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, we're going to continue to play for because we're a man. We are really man. That's what I took from. That is what it is, is like these air. These other these football guys were being weenies. I saw they put out players from the SEC today to do cable news. Availabilities, and they were all like, Hey, let us play. Yeah, well, Trevor Laurence from clubs in the Star quarterback. He started a trend and Justin fields from your Ohio State. Also getting in on that they all with a hashtag that said something along the lines of we want to play and a lot of them pushing forward on Twitter and other social media platforms. I mean, 18 1920. They love football. Of course, they're going to say that. Yeah, and they don't feel like they're going to have a problem. And they may not, But then they may I have no idea what the medicine on this is any more. I'm just going. I'm going with whatever Dr Jim Adams tells me And he was like, Well, you know, it's it does affect people and you can also get Other things that happen that last with you like my own card. Itis is one of the issues now that they're finding with younger men who get this, and that's an inflammation of the heart that can lead to all kinds of other complications throughout the rest of your life. So there's there is that, but we will just see We will just see what the SEC does Big 10 not going to play. And that that's irreversible now. And you know, Ohio State is not leaving the Big 10..

"All right so last night as we've been talking about on the show it was a fantastic night for Columbus blue jacket fans and the Columbus blue jackets and boy corpus although I can't say enough about him and and his performance last night let's bring in the sideline reporter for reset reporter for foxsports Ohio in the Columbus blue jackets Dave Matt's old Matt's year in Detroit right now yes are not just Detroit it's beautiful downtown Detroit I mean if this place is phenomenal so last night let's start with last night boy I I don't know what the feeling was around there but boy it was really fun to watch corporate solid do its thing last night Hey look I'm not talking to I I want to forget about the rest of the team as well but let's face it they were quality parts flying at him all night long and this guy was just you know stop after stop after stop in the blue jackets they boy they just they cranked it up last night it was really really fun to watch Hey boys look towards has been saying for a couple of weeks that this isn't a five hundred hockey team because the goaltending and he meant that as a compliment your goal of corpus all he has kept this team in games that they otherwise has no business being in even at one nothing overtime loss in Pittsburgh after that game towards the quote this game could therefore nothing very easily in the favor of Pittsburgh but it wasn't because of course the last night might have been his best of the year if you go back up maybe a week before that Alaska because Washington that might have been his best game of the year until last night he's really plays at a really high level and and eliminated one of the big question marks right going into the season only what was it well I think you want to answer that question very very well yeah boy yeah it was again I saw you you talk to him but right after the game there and he just sees a he just seems like a cool customer man he just seems unfazed right now and I think last night maybe even a little more growing and and this is just based on I don't know that clearly you don't that that like what he was doing last night isn't something you just all the sudden discovered obviously it's there the talent is there he's got the chops and that was as good a performance of we've seen from Bob as far as what your listed last night especially when you consider the team and the people who are coming out of all night rolled out about and that's a really good way to characterize it through the first two periods Aliso basket at night job and they've also got a great second line which is centered bikers that soft yes you J. Oshie on that line yes Sir could run on that one Backstrom is the back in the lineup for for about a week or so so you're talking about a team that has five or six guys with four points then the blue jackets leading scorer that is really quite a lot of fire power coming at your school to someone last night all and I think and it's not because the guy asking me in posted it got to be almost personal between him and and that's good right Michael veterans like I would this guy was there with this guy yeah Jana stood tall on every shot he thinks it was really really fun to watch and really encouraging for the future of that goal tending position with the blue jackets no doubt about it second time only so far drops the gloves last year and I'm telling you man it was offer that goon Wilson and and him but basically what he Louis left is free to you he was he that that check was not a check that was a dirty shot in any more on that going on right now Meryl they'll be no trouble dental discipline for Tom Wilson even though he's left it like that and in even towards called after games like that needless yet yeah well why you with what you would do that at that point the game the game is already sealed up but yes savvy yeah I was talking about the are there some the game of life if you have a fight I can't remember him ever having a fight it won't be hold a third period there was his second time NHL fight he didn't even look like a fighter because he's not a fighter but the fact that he went back after Wilson after that cheap shot it was a really good side it builds a lot terms of team unity that kind of thing right in the sense of art is a big dude so he's gone Hey you know maybe even though he's not he's not a fighter but he's gone Hey pick on somebody a little bit more your own size and I I love it man him stand up like that that was that was really cool to actually see that and you're right I can't believe they're not going to do nothing's going to come down for Wilson especially when it's needless and clearly was frustration man they they're just they're helpless they're like why can't we can score on these guys it was making him crazy and it's not just core be I mean everybody is in the right place sticks in the right place I mean more deflecting were you know re direct I mean it was it was just crazy was the perfect storm last night yeah it much like the game a week prior in Washington there six were good there they were playing on their toes they scored only court made that stand up until they could add a little bit of insurance in the third period it was just all on one hand it make you say wow these guys are really played a great game on the other hand why don't you like this on more nights why do we have to suffer through games like we saw in Pittsburgh and to a certain extent an audible work they were facing at the pleaded team and could not score how does happen so I'm sure it's a little bit frustrating for the coaching staff as well but there's still time they they've got themselves we had a late fall will be here plays but there is still time they have to win tonight are you in our testing about this early but they have to win tonight or completely deflate what happened last night right when they got to come back Thursday and beat the kings way and get some momentum going here because I've got some games that should be what about games between now and Christmas thank god some guys who were called up last night too and will they be starting again tonight I would imagine well the good news about tonight is the best news is as accurate he comes back a week and a half earlier than anybody expected wow that's awesome he's going to come back in the lineup he's a Detroit kid obviously grew up rooting for the red wings that that was a one hundred percent blue jacket that'll really really be a nice addition especially with some of these injured injuries that they suffered in the in the Ottawa so yeah but you know listen you had that Kevin Stedman called up and Marco dental cold up with those guys well is there a work on the fourth one you have Eric Robinson who still learning the NHL game score a big goal last night off a great feat from Alexander text yearly towards talks about developing players these are young players who are developing right before our eyes and people like that I don't wanna you're developing other one who developing a what is your playoff push and all that kind of stuff but I think we're seeing a mix of it right now it's still hoping that they can make a push for a playoff spot and also developing some of these guys look at the stars of the of the blue jackets future well Elvis in that tonight hopefully he can get his first NHL win I know Corby needs the rest and you know hopefully if there's a time to actually play him I guess that would be versus the red wings but boy you know I I guess on any given night right yeah I'm not sure that's a hundred percent walk you know one of the people have assume dealt with the net but all this was skating this morning he was one of only two guys to skate the this morning he had called her wits and generally what a goaltender states in the morning he doesn't play that night so I think maybe it could be over but I'm only we but convinced but I'm it could be fifty fifty at this point from the starts and that's a nine nine coal that's all we'll be watching tonight for you obviously on Fox Sports Ohio what puck drops at seven correct I

"Get a win trust sideline reporter official back in northwestern athletics in Chicago's bag. but see Jack well guys you said that extra point was well you're absolutely right their normal starting kicker picturing a sophomore when fourteen and eighteen last year he's been out so far this season the hip issue they turn to a transfer walk on safe the lever Callum was all for one and a deal goes but nine of ten on the year you know they held an open trial two weeks ago for the club soccer team and end up picking one guy who's their third string kicker that's what they did with former all American kicker Alex Henery who is a draft pick out of Nebraska and put their long legacy of good kicker so some kicking turbulence here in Nebraska but so far seven nothing that's not how you want the job at northwestern wasn't free just a tryout camp well unlikely I can't there is a junior and I earned it more of the traditional route in order to take so so cancel have it here on the twenty five yard line trailing by a score of seven to nothing and of course last year if you were a member of the wildcat kicker Charlie gu banner was injured and of that game against Nebraska drew Luckett ball was called upon to kick at a remember his first we actually saw the game on the plane yesterday to have it out here we did add locket balls first field goal he line drive did white light was even close and then his second one the Wildcats needed as they were coming back from ten points down in the last six minutes to make it a seven point reeled it and then hit the game winner in overtime yeah so don't don't write off these kickers who you don't plan on seeing objective they could step up and hit some big ones a key moments and now let's see if Peyton Smith in this wildcat offense could get going here the last.

Lowe: What Kawhi and the Raptors have done to the Warriors

"Has been the better team for almost this entire series. I realized that the warriors have injuries. There's no question about that. The warriors just took this game. The why Leonard's been the best player in the playoffs. The best player tonight. He's been the best player in the series. They got your Mendes defense. Zach lowe. This is you've tracked the raptors for so long. They're a team that usually in the moment under pressure, doesn't liver. They've been delivering for a couple of months now. And here they get it again. It's a different team. That's why the team that crumbled under pressure had Rosen and some other players who are under steam anymore. This team has a guy who's already a finals MVP. And I think if they pull this off takes his place among the greatest modern day playoff performers ever. I mean, I don't think that's hyperbole. They win. And he's the finals MVP again. And you know what they did tonight. That was so smart. Because just like the warriors struggle with its anyone besides clay or Steph in this game. I think the rest of them shot under under forty percent. The raptors get concerned when they have to take quiet they bought five minutes when they took him out in the second quarter five minutes, and they actually. Made the deficit less to me. That was so keep because down the stretch Steph looks gassed, he's playing forty minutes, who is thirty six minutes. And I know that doesn't sound like a lot. But at the end of the game it is, it's a big difference. So Nick nurse handle quite beautifully tonight. And I mean he was just so far and away the best player on our priced. He keeps rolling out these lineups at the start of the second and fourth quarter that have both Lowrey and Leonard on the bench and they're playing even or winning. And like if the warriors can't win those minutes, they are not gonna win Saqlain tonight. They did not like when I watched the warriors right now they look like a team that has never gotten comfortable in this series because they don't know who's playing games a game. Now he's that would Nick nurse before game three and he said, you know, it's kinda like a Geely game. I have experience in this goes gonna play in every game like we're fine. We didn't know Klay was gonna play until ten minutes where the game we're fine with that. But for the warriors. I'm I'm poppin and everyone of these huddles like my job is the sideline reporter on on the radio here. It's kind of like big peeping, Tom like sneak in there. And listen and I'm really sure with us of different comparison, but go ahead. Okay. But you you're just get in there and get listened into the huddles. Sometimes you see these, where's WALDO? "They host Maryland. They traveled to take on Minnesota on Thursday, February twenty first they host Michigan state Sunday, February twenty four that thing is going to be bananas. Yeah. Yeah. I can't even imagine. What that if if Tuesday was any indication. The Sunday CBS. Got imagine Nancy is on the call. I would imagine you're gonna have the crew there. Yeah. Yeah. Yep. Straight c Wilson on the crew sideline. Reporter. I think. So yes, you can alum. I have to look at it without not through maize and blue. She's she's. She's very good with static very neutral. Alaska that's bath over here. You know, where in Michigan sweatshirt? She is very good being very neutral about Michigan games when she's on them. The Brassica at home the follow on Thursday. The twenty eighth that is senior day and then road trip to Maryland Sunday, March third road trip to Michigan state Saturday March ninth man, they this season goes late. It does. When's the wins the championship that to be played like April twelfth the big ten championship? Oh, the the NCAA tournament. Well, the actual instantly championship would be April eighth. Okay. All right. I guess it's not that late. But but do mean compared to last year when we had the when when the big ten championship was early. I think that's the reason. Why we go in man? Well, yeah, you're right. You're right last season. I remember March. I was day one of the big ten tournament. Actually, February twenty eighth was day one. That was when the you know, the the bottom excuse me the bottom four teams played so yeah, they ended ended the season February twenty fifth last year. Okay. So they're going an extra couple of weeks actually, February twenty fourth they traveled to take on Maryland. So anyway, let's look at least ten games. And and here's the thing. This is normally a time of year where Michigan and I shouldn't say normally because it doesn't happen every year but Michigan's offense especially for new starters in new contributors. It can take some time for it to gel. Right. And and I think. You're seeing that a little bit. And there's like all these always like, you know, maybe you'll be good right away. Like, I think DJ Wilson IMO Wagner were great examples. They were electric when they started the twenty seven two thousand sixteen two thousand seventeen season they had these great games. And then teams were like, okay. Well, here's how we defend EJ Wilson. And here's how we defend Movember. And so you saw maybe not they didn't like have down seasons. Zakar VIN was in Derek Welton. We're kind of in that boat to like, okay. Here's what we do. Too key on in on these guys. But you saw maybe a little bit more variance ups and downs. And then in February they started to get hot. They they ended up. They lost at Michigan state. They lost a home game to Ohio State. But then the rest of the way they went six and to to close the season including four top fifty wins. So so they kind of figured some things out. And then you saw last year, obviously around this time they were struggling. Not struggling struggling. But they started the season fourteen in three and sixteen in four. And then they lost three of their next six games. Including that road trip to north western just a couple of days after the Super Bowl, so more or less. A year ago that Rutgers game on Tuesday will will probably be similar in nature to that northwestern game. And then they didn't lose until April. So this is kind of I I did some studies around that last week of January first week of February. The good teams that beeline has had something clicks any it takes a few losses. I remember twenty thirteen they started twenty and one last three of the next four some good games. And good teams. The big ten was pretty stacked that you're too. But. And I think back to I believe twenty twelve they also had a really rough stretch. And then they ended up winning six of the last seven games. So there's some cause to believe that they could win. But I wonder the dynamics of it because I would say some of their most winnable games will be in the next will be there next four. I think they can win Iowa. I do like their chances of winning at Rutgers. Even the record seems to be in for a week upset every week now. Hosting Wisconsin easier win at home. Travelling to Penn State. They have yet to win a big ten game. That's wild. But now it is what it is. They can close against Minnesota. They've had they've had probably four or five or six losses that were four points or less. Yeah. And then and then they host Maryland. It's like you think you can pick up some wins there. It's really the last four that. I think are more treacherous. Yeah. I agree with that. But yeah, I think I think there's a few things so one you do want to see how this offense goes back to what I was saying the offense seems to click late February mid to late February. That's when they figure things out. That's when. You know, the legs get a little tired because you're tapering. That's when your chemistry with your teammates grows because you understand your roles. That's when maybe you, you know, when other coaches are kind of like, oh, the Hayes in the barn. You know? We'll we'll keep teaching things, but we're not going to rewrite things beeline loves to do that. I mean, I, you know, you listen to him talk about especially in his coaches show. It seems like that's when he opens up about what he does in practice. They're still working on mental. So all those little mistakes, you saw at Wisconsin when they had v sixteen turnovers or even even on Tuesday early on there were some issues, you know, Ohio State with squid switching and screens. And they were they even did a little bit of zone. And Michigan had a tough time getting to the basket. They in that was kind of by design. I think Ohio State definitely wanted to dare Michigan to shoe eventually Michigan made its shots. And if you sat next to me in the press box, you heard me say watch, they're gonna dare Michigan to shoe Michigan's going gonna struggle. But then if they can make a couple it's over. But looked similar to what happened. Yeah. If I say so myself it ended up with they had three layup attempts in the first half on Tuesday. Wow. They ended up with ten in the second half because they were able to kind of spread Ohio state's defense out a little bit more. But teams are going to do that. So how does Michigan respond? It's all about the punch counterpunch deal. I don't think that's going to happen on Friday. I think Iowa their defense is I don't even they don't even have a defense. I it's the worst defense in the big ten it's not close and they play they play fast. And that's where things might get tricky for Michigan. You saw the big ten tournament last year. It's like you thought Michigan was going to close out the game against Iowa. They're up like seven with two minutes to go and also in Iowa tied it. Yeah. And it's it's it can kind of sneak up on you. I also think it's interesting. You know, we might talk more Michigan Iowa tomorrow. One of the best teams in the country at drawing fouls and getting to the free throw line. But I in their even better than Ohio State, but Ohio State was fourteenth. And drawn fouls in Michigan was able to relatively avoid fouls. There was no foul trouble. But is it different? Because if you ask the Ohio State fans, you can give listen to him or not up to you. But if you ask you how fans they think that the that the fouls were very one-sided in Michigan's favor. So, yeah, it's it's an interesting thing. I'm curious to see man, Michael you are fast. And for fast, the pick up our grub. So I'm interested to see how it goes. Oh, he was wearing a Michigan sweatshirt. So I'm curious to see how Michigan does not fouling there. One of the best in the country. Not filing Iowa a huge portion of their offense is predicated on getting to the free throw line drawing those fouls and we saw against northwestern. You know, if if John skis in foul trouble, or if Iggy birthday kiss picks up two thousand the first half. Suddenly you you're taking a back seat a little bit. You're you're kind of waiting for them to come back. Some interested midst you have a prediction for the next ten games. So as I for the next ten I mean, I I still kind of I know you're kind of little you view this the game on Friday as should be a win. If I'm not mistaken rate predictive win, a, hey, I see a lot of reasons why they won't win. Yeah. I mean to me I look at that one almost like it should be a win late. The Nebraska game last year when they went out to to Lincoln, and I kinda thought Michigan would have beaten Nebraska on the road. But being a damn near lights out game for Nebraska where they just anything. They put up was almost going in. But I do I think Michigan should pull that one off. I don't see a loss really until potentially. Maybe even a struggle at Minnesota a Thursday night game up at the barn. The difficult. That's a sneaky tough. Although Illinois did not look bad at Minnesota last night. I don't know if anyone I did not get. I don't think any of our listeners watched either. I think Minnesota is. We'll we'll we'll see. We'll we'll know in the next couple of weeks if they're any good, right? Yeah. Yeah. But then after that, I think the obvious the two toughest games after that are the last two of the season at Maryland and net MSU. And I've mentioned this before on Jamie show before and I think if mentioned that here as well to that any of these like early tip off seem to be an issue for Michigan's. Well, the new nurse. Yes. Even the the Wisconsin game at noon here at Chrysler could cause some fed same with the one on the sixteenth against Maryland, where giving you would expect those it'd be win since you're at home, but we would say Michigan's homecourt 'cause because Michael, and I've gone back and forth. I've been critical of Michigan fans for not really going to these basketball games. But this year, it's different. It's a little bit more like a assembly hall coal center atmosphere. Yeah. But I mean at the same thing as when you and I were up in the press booth for the the South Carolina game. It's like, man. These guys are coming are real sluggishly interesting. They do come off a little slow. If you if you if you remember right, but eventually pulled away towards the end. But to me, I looked to that. Like man this. These noon tip offs or these earlier tip offs in the day. Like, do they not wake up in the morning or something like that? Do they not have them up? But it's I I'm curious. Yeah. That's that's an interesting thing. I'll have to study that because you're right though. I mean, how how realistic is it for player? Let's say they wake up at nine. And let's say wake up at eight thirty and get ready, and then do their warm ups and stuff how realistic is it that a player a nineteen year old twenty year old college is going to bed before midnight before games. Exactly. I mean, even if you even if it's your job like like, I know like when I like early wakeup calls for travel or whatever. I just naturally have a tough time going to bed that far before all of my friends go to bed. So it's, you know, it's it's that's something. Interesting to study as far as the prediction for the next ten games. I'm gonna say seven and three I think Maryland. I think I think they're gonna lose it. Michigan state. That's that's I predict that you know, if their offense really comes together. And I know I predicted a couple of weeks ago. I think eighty per steak is going to have a really waimea February seems like he's me starting to build toward that. If you look at his last two games, I think things are going to really click for him. But how good is this offense? Because realistically, the offense alone is decent. It's not it's not a top twenty five offense. You know, it depending on what you're measuring. It's not a championship caliber offense. It's the defense. But as we mentioned early on in the segment the offense is the one that's gonna improve more during the season and the defense. Okay. So I'm gonna say seven three I think they lose it. Michigan state, and I think between Wisconsin, Minnesota Iowa Maryland. I think it's two losses in there. And I think I think if they lose early I think they can like they kind of have the edge, and maybe they could pull off a couple of those wins. And I think if they win say say, they beat Iowa and Wisconsin now, I think they get stung by somebody later on. So I'm gonna I'm gonna say seven and three obviously can change. But I think I think Wisconsin since the tough match-up for them. I think Maryland's tough place to play. And I think Michigan state's are really good basketball team. I want to take the seven three as well. But I think it's it's either going to be one of those two noon tip offs. I could cause them some fits. And I think it might actually be Maryland since they haven't seen them this year. They've they, you know, Michigan saw as seen Wisconsin. They've played them early or the Kohl center. I think that that could be a good redemption game for them to get revenge that only loss of the season. But I do think the Maryland one could kind of cost fits, and then I'll be honest. I think at Maryland at Michigan state, you're going to cause some fits as well too. But I think seven three. For that one one real quick note as well. By the way, Zach I know you and I were talking about this before the before we came on important programming note programming note for those that we're going to go to the Michigan Iowa game tonight at Chrysler for the women's basketball game that game has been postponed due.

"The game the play by play guy and the color commentator in the sideline reporter, gal guy, or whatever. The eagles. Completing three think the eagles are gonna win. Totally gonna win this game. I like the eagles in this guy. They don't do that. Because they understand. All right. This is a long process of this happens in that happens in some of it's misleading in some of it goes backward. Eventually, but the constant hinting at what the outcome is going to be dumb, and you get that and political reporting all the time. My final point. Office. Sources very important. I get to the final point I'll keep talking Marshall. And maybe it will pop back into my head. I knew three points was too many head. He's always been one of my favorite reporters. Jonathan Karl really feel like he calls him as he is a straight shooter. But he said his sources say don't expect any bombshells out of there. Oh, I got it the third thing. Yeah. And I heard so many news talking heads hit this over the weekend in discussing the story. Among the compelling and damning pieces of evidence. They cited that Donald J is indeed in the employee of Vlad Putin was that in your remember when he ordered the Russians are requested that the Russians hack into Hillary Clinton's emails than Sean. I apologize. I should have asked you to get that tape that was so clearly show the whole controversy was that Hillary and her lawyers who deleted thirty thousand emails, it was a hot pot controversy. Then the news breaks that the Russians are hacking into emails. So Donald J on the stump says, hey, maybe we can get the Russians to find those missing Hillary emails that was a funny joke that was not some sort of triple secret coded, Dr evil moment, we're Donald J Trump was ordering when he directed the rush. All please, stop it. Then why did he put his pinky his mouth when he said? Any so called journalists who uses that is one of their pillars of guilt needs to quit wasting my time. It was a joke. That's a great band. Name pillars of guilt. Wow. That's good shows really every single to a minor key really down you walk out crying. Right. You walk out questioning why you're alive walkout thinking. You've got to.
