"So I'm driving. To the cemetery. On Sunday morning. Uh and I get there at about 10 15 for my dad's 10 30 unveiling and there's a bunch of cars already there. My brother in law, Harry, who did a tremendous job with the service, he really did better than the rabbi can do. And my sister Orlando, my sister race, Sherry, my brother in law, Albert, They're all there. My mom was there, of course to Naomi. And, uh, I'm pulling up and it just became so surreal to me. He's been gone now just over a year, and this is really the end of the first year. Going through all the first week. I went through all of them with you guys. I got to say this audience is just filled with heart just filled with heart. Instagram at Rosenberg dot Sydney at Rosenberg dot Sydney Twitter at Sid Rosenberg, Facebook, Sid Rosenberg and of course, the show's Twitter was at Bernie and said at its Bernie and said for the Instagram, we have Facebook page as well. But I'm talking about specifically the outpouring of love for me with my whole dad saga and we want the world's first birthday this year, his first days as first that and then we get to the point on Sunday where we unveiled the stone. Basically for the last year. There's just been a, uh, you know, just one big pile of mud, you know, on dirt and nothing there, too. Will you represent my father and the unveiling on Sunday? There was a towel and all the little kids in my family, and we've got tons of them. They called my father, Poppy Poppy. So there was a towel with the word poppy over this stone. And then once the service was over, we remove the towel and there was a headstone. Harvey H. Rosenberg, Father, son, brother, Poppy. Great, Poppy. All that good stuff. But what I liked specifically about this unveiling on Sunday was While I really was dreading going there for it, because it's just so say it's still to me to this day. What I liked about it was my brother in law, Harry instead of starting off People crying and all that which had been through after the funeral On the whole year, he said. Hey, if you've got a story about poppy, then tell it now. Hopefully, it's going to be comedic because we don't want to cry again and one by one. My nephews and nieces and siblings and everybody there started telling some really funny stories or inspirational stories about my father. For example. One I I told was I told a bunch was I was playing kings Be football in Brooklyn, New York, We had a really good team. Really good team, and I was running back. Yes. Skinny, asthmatic Sydney. Rosenberg was a running back on the Redskins. That was my team. And we will play in this team, the Steelers, Dave Lab, Rosie's Pittsburgh Steelers and on the Steeler team. They had a guy playing defensive end He was probably 40 years old. I was like 10. He was like 40. I had no idea how the kid was still playing Little League football. But this kid was great. And he hit you hard. So my dad was the coach of my team. He was the actual head coach and I'm playing running back in the quarterback is a kid named Jerry Rocco. And he says, Jerry in the huddle. You're gonna pitch the ball to Sydney on the right side and Sydney, you're gonna get that football and run. I said Okay, Dad, I got it. So Jerry pitched me the football and it took about two seconds for this kid to smash me in the base. I mean, he hit me so hard. I think I made my pants. I swear to God, I'm not kidding. I'm not exaggerating. And I'm laying there and I'm like, I'm not doing this again showing up a couple of plays later, my father Harvey goes, Jerry, You're gonna pitch the ball in Sydney on the right side and Sydney. You're gonna run with that ball, then I'm like Daddy. I'm not doing I'm going to tell Mommy. You're trying to get me killed. I'm an asthmatic. I should be out there to begin with. I'm not doing it. He said son. You're gonna catch the football. You're going to run. So what happened? Same exact thing. I get the pitch out. This kid comes running. He smashes me in the face and I'm laying there on the crowned crying. I don't want to play anymore. I'm going home. And sure enough, a couple of plays later. My father goes in the huddle, and he says Jerry. You're going to pitch the ball to Sydney on the right side. Sydney. You're gonna take that football and you're gonna run. And for some reason, this time it worked because I made one move to the left. I took off to the right And 60 yards later. I was celebrating a touchdown. And I looked at my father. And I said Thanks, Pop. Thanks. So I had to quit. After the first time I got clobbered. And certainly after the second time, I got clobbered. I was ready to call my mother Mommy and go home. But my father said, give another shot. Send them with radio. You know, I've been fired so many times and suspended so many times and told I was done so many times. That I could have quit these two a long time ago. But I go back to that story with my father. Little Kings Be football. Brooklyn, New York Little Bucktooth, asthmatic Sid Rosenberg, Sydney at the time catching that pitch out and going 60 yards for a touchdown. And that was the inspiration and the love and support my father provided for me so The unveiling turned out to be a very nice morning rather than a dreaded crying mess. And now my dad has a headstone, and now we.

They become pinatas on this show, and they deserve it. The bad guys. Some of them worse. Another's Cuomo clearly the worst off the three, and that's what we do, right. That's our job. Our job is to talk, local politics, national politics, So every morning these guys find a way to take a beating. I want to do less of that today. Just today. If you really, really want that. "To three every day on this station. So it's talking with Bernie last week, and I mention the fact that a week ago today we could go today. In the spirit of Christmas. As we continue to play these beautiful Christmas songs. I went to the 12 O'clock Mass. Saint Patrick's Cathedral, where very sweet. It was very nice. Very nice Way had the discussion about the dog in the Nativity scene and the monsignor at ST Patrick's Cathedral, Monsignor Richie, he's gonna come in next Tuesday. Yes, I'm looking forward to that. That's gonna be great. He's gonna bless him and pray for all of us, especially Jed. And so he'll be here on Tuesday. So all I said was, I went to church. I'm Jewish. It's clear. I'm Jewish and a proud you, but I've been to midnight Mass. I want to charge last week. I think it's nice to see how other people do their thing. But you say it's clear that you're Jewish. But You're going to play a role on TV as an Italian. That's true. That is true of an Italian. In fact, it's funny. You mention that our friend William de Mayo went to Miami yesterday to scout out all the locations where we're gonna be shooting next month. Me and dice for that show. Gravesend and Italians are Catholics. That's true. So I was actually preparing for my movie role by going to ST Patrick's Your whole life. You're prepared for this movie wrong. You're right. I've always wanted to be Italian, but make a long story short, So Curtis, he always takes it to the next level. Curtis So I go to church and all of a sudden I want to be Catholic. He is Curtis and Juliet From a couple days ago, I heard shocking news This morning, Sid Rosenberg went toe a full mass at ST Patrick's Cathedral. He is considering converting and that would mean a reverse bris. I don't know how you do that was so inspired by the Mass that he's Yeah, and not only that. Not only was he telling about that about catching too well, no, I'll be complaining. Felling is like a crazy God. He's bringing the archbishop on the air and let's face it Burn on McGurk, legitimate Catholic Irish cat. He's saying you really wanted to this. You want to convert. From being a Jew to CAF, because you know Catholics always trying to convert. Think if we can convert it you that's like pearl diving. We go straight through the pearly gates. We go right to heaven, so they do this little bit. First of all, it's the monsignor, not the archbishop, who are the real Catholic here, but they do this little bit on the air, and I swear to you, Bernie, I swear to you between Twitter at Sid Rosenberg Facebook, said Rosenberg. Instagram at Sid Rosenberg. I must have 100 people sending messages going. Oh, my God. You really converting? I've got rabbis that it's saying What are you doing? It was well, you're right there with dove hiking that every big Jewish Riley, What are you doing was Let me just say this. You're dipping your toe. You want dipping your tongue a little bit first. It was the televangelist that guy and on Sunday morning I love him. Hope God! Hello, Steve. That was him, and now you're praying and ST Patrick's Cathedral. And inviting. You know the clergy into the studio? I would be suspect, too, if I was, Oh, my God. When you put it like that, Rabbi, you know you're right when you line up all these other things that I dont you hold it the whole Italian thing, right? And then I did yell and scream with the Jews for spreading the mumps and the measles and having 7000 people at a wedding and funeral, right? Maybe maybe Curtis is out. There's something I don't know. We'll find out. But I'm a serious note. I'm a proud you. Don't you worry. I love my religion. I love my people. But I am interested to see how the going on live from Dr. Very nice. Well, listen, you can spread yourself around. You know, you can take your chances with one or both. You take chances, right? You've been to show you've been to bomb it was you've gone to temple have right. Okay, so, but that was for a specific reason for the ceremony and somebody's getting bored. Mr Gore or somebody's getting married on funeral something you would never go to a temple on the high Holy day just to see what we're doing, You know, not for laughs or anything like that. No, that's what you did the other day. No, not for laughs. That was that was very solid just went. I mean, that that is a little little odd, but the God bless. Well, welcome to the fold. It's gonna get worse today, Curtis I'm going back again today. Yes, I am. I've decided everyone's them going to the noon Mass at ST Patrick's Cathedral. It's very spiritually no matter what to nominate whatever religion you are beautiful. They sang song, and the structure itself was gorgeous. It really is. That's where I graduated from high school. We had my summer room. My ceremony was there at the same passion is so cool. Yeah. Because I got my degree. They handed me my degree. So you obviously you didn't hold it against your church and the priest? What happened to you? When you were an altar boy? You moved on from his Hello. I love him and his wife, Margot, Love arm or they get into the spirit of things when we got a wooden soldier downstairs, and I took a picture with the guy this morning in, say much. They don't smile. Kind like this guy downstairs in the lobby Instagram at Sid Rosenberg Twitter, right? Sid Rosenberg Facebook, said Rosenberg. You can check out the picture. One of the story I want to cover from last week. We weren't together burn, but it came up when I was doing television. One of the greatest athletes in our lifetimes. Died last week. Not just a great athlete, but nobody. I mean, nobody did more cocaine than this guy. Nobody. Okay if you want to use the fictional character, Tony Montana out, But you know when Scarface nobody did more cocaine, Diego Maradona. Nobody. This guy was High and drunk every day and in terms of just pure soccer skill. Same level is Lionel Messi that good that good right but a complete The guy was in his fifties. He was still doing rails all day long. No good. No good. No good for your heart. He died last week. But here's the deal. Everybody said on He must've been too much Coke. He drank too much. When Michael Jackson died. The great Michael Jackson. We know that eventually his doctor Got in big trouble. You've even gotten arrested. We're giving him too much of that sleeping stuff did propofol Right now They're saying there's something up with Diego Maradona's doctor that it wasn't just because of the cocaine and the alcohol, they're questioning. His doctor, So I know what is Dr. Got him, But this could be another Michael Jackson situation. Well, let's make it the, uh, a cautionary tale. A lesson for the, uh, for the younger listeners for the young folks like Mikey did. Dino who just graduated Courtland daughter did this type of behavior does have consequent does I mean, you know if you don't stop, especially when you're young. You do it a couple times. Got a couple rehabs like me. Maybe you don't. You don't carry it that far. But it zip me. It doesn't only ruined careers and lives and all that stuff. Family kills you. It does. And maybe that's what killed Diego Maradona. Maybe not. But he was really a magnificent, magnificent soccer player. And people around the world actually wept last week when he did I know you don't care for what that's right. Huh? All right, I saw it. I mean, you know, it's a 17 choked up to each of the seven million stories in the naked city to, uh, use that phrase and look to me. It's just a name, so I didn't have a personal attach. What was the last time you cry? I didn't cry like you cried when Penny Marshall, stop it. And I don't do that Big deal. Laverne. Dying is a big deal. Dick Ellis, You know when you cried I saw you cry. I'm being serious. I cried when my my little miniature snow Hauser died. I wasn't with you. Then I was with you. The last time you cried when I say cry. You weren't like Ben Stiller walking down the street in something about Mary you like but you cried. Is why I love you. When my father died. That day when I was in the studio that morning. You started the crime. I notice that we'll never figure welled up. You cried. All right. I love you. Well, I'll take that. Thank you. I love you too. "So as I told you On Thursday night. I got a message on my phone. Welcome back by the way burning and set our number three on this Monday morning. Got a message on my phone that 92% of my Voicemails were used and I was running the risk of not being able to receive any more voicemails and a majority of those were from you folks out there since my dad passed away two weeks ago tomorrow. My dad Harvey, wishing me a happy birthday, almost three months to the day. Papal 19th of course, is my birthday. You guys have been with me for the better part of two weeks from that opening segment that Wednesday morning. He died that Wednesday night to my seven AM Colon with Bernard and Russ that Thursday morning. So where we are now I am. I'm overwhelmed by the amount of folks that have reached out to me. And my mother, who has received thousands of condolence cards in upstate New York, not just people in the business, and I mentioned some names that were very surprising to you, but not for you today. We'll listen. It is understand When people love you. That's what they do. They reach out and they show it they displayed. In times like these, and by the way, that was your dad singing. Ah, Happy birthday just a couple of months ago, three months able 19th about three months ago, and he was a that point. He was 88 years old. He sounded pretty good for 88 yourself singing Happy birthday from a facility. I believe it was. He was in a facility. You know, we sounded pretty good Monday night before he died on Wednesday. Tuesday was a was a very, very tough phone call, but But he was He was a great man, a great character, a great dad, the patriarch of the Rosenberg family, and Ah, he lived a great life. And that's what we should be celebrating through. Many Childrens come four Children, obviously. But many grandchildren. Many great grandchildren who talked about in office. He's got that too. And we all gathered together. We we buried my dad. Uh, Friday, not last fight of the Friday before in a cemetery in upstate New York, where he lived, of course. Right by the softball field. And I would talk to my dad every day. I got mad once. I said, uh A lot of bull is leaving me. But for the most part, they were They were loving talks, and I thank them and I did call his cell phone like I told you a couple of days ago, so It was good to get back to work with you this morning. That was it was cathartic to certain extent. But I'm not really doing well. I'm still hurting really bad, but, um All right. It's time to celebrate now and move past the sadness. The last head of swelling on the passing celebrate the great life and he did live a very, very wonderful life. B. side to talk about was with Reese Witherspoon I got a lot I am somebody there was nobody that thank god since he came down to and I think the whole thing Bernie took about thirty minutes now but the whole project I guess there are two types of tests for the antibodies is one and though this one is less reliable than the other the one let's less reliable I believes what I've read is when they **** your finger now that's not the one we did you got a blood drawn right so weak we we had to wait about fifteen twenty minutes inside the lobby well of course it's only about half the size now because they've roped off all the chairs in the middle put up a sign you can't sit here because the social distancing so obviously it's difficult for the doctors to see too many people at once but I got to tell you that there were two tests we took one was they took blood from my own that was to see if in fact they ever had to call it and they stick this long thing all the way up your nose it was a good hit your your brain I know I can't really uncomfortable they are to deal with that it's one second Bernie I literally one second it's over and those are the two test you took I I think we waited about twenty minutes to see the doctor in with the doctor took I would say two and a half minutes to take a temperature they take your blood pressure they take your blood they stick that thing up your nose you to stick up your nose and and then you're out of there and then they'll send you an email in two or three or four days to let you know eight if you've ever had this N. B. B. body test as to whether or not you can actually donate blood so she got it done I got it done kids get it done tomorrow and they put this video I'm saying here I am outside the city M. D. get getting these tests done so I can move on from this nonsense and of course about ninety nine percent of the folks are like way to go hope you're okay good luck about one percent got very upset that I deem this nonsense well ninety five thousand people dying that's nonsense to you know not the people dying you moron you F. ing idiot that's not the nonsense it's what we've gone through it and around it that's complete nonsense here's where you're making a mistake you focus on that one percent I know I do that's that's that's it you just you really and I would of I would have been if I were you because I know you plan to but I would have added that I I intend to donate blood if I yes because the test positive for the antibodies I mean you did say that I don't sit on the video because unfortunately the Instagram video is only good for about fifteen seconds right but when in fact my test comes back good a couple of days I'll take another video of me returning to work to donate my blood and I will put in hell did say I don't know about your blood a lot of balls out of cooking I think you've explains all those things I think so right by this time right I think I'm good now yeah yeah and now it's just the the various STDs I just I just thought that that's a very good thing you did and a very good thing you will do if you have tested yeah I'm gonna do that for sure and the the second best part of the whole deal was it's free not even your your deductible three right you should go to city do you got to pay twenty five Bucks just what my bought here this is free that again if you go at the right time of the day it's very quick so I recommend to all you folks out there you got urgent cares on just about every block across Manhattan don't have to go to a hospital or a doctor this one in there in a half hour you'll be done and you can find out whether you've had it and B. whether or not you've got the the bodies that could actually help folks down the road now if only I could get a prescription for Ambien while in there I go myself today at ten oh one I can get you that has nothing to do with this test but I can get you that okay I think the sell one of those guys they get haircuts tanning salons restaurants school J. lo and A. what I got okay I got it all set up looking a little a look do I look like I'm and you're going to wait any issue you look like you should be out well I don't know somewhere in Miami I would say Miami does very well you only have to do right after you get your white pants on your white converse sneakers your what is that obeys what kind of help this is a peach shirt peach peach it is a I know they there's all these brand new names for colors like teal right my my my my son wants a deal to me and I will what the hell is T. if you live in Miami Dolphins blue coat at all I've heard I've heard people say it but I do that my son would have C. T. I know it's not it's not a word that I that I never enters my vocabulary a peach you know Pete's yeah I could I could be in Miami I could be in the Hamptons or to be honest I know you think in this and you could just say it but on I can be right there on Christopher street in the Chelsea in the heart of Chelsea or Christopher street right we have the manhole serving or receiving drink either way either way maybe I'll post a picture one eight hundred and forty W. A. B. C. I'm in the summer more tomorrow that we get I got a good day I've been working out I got a nice day out bid on let's do it one eight hundred eight four eight ninety two twenty two we got a couple of great guess and this is the place to be folks all the stop your reading all this stuff you're seeing as if they come to this unbelievable conclusion we started this two months ago we did before anybody else who Bernie and sid fox.

"Mike Huckabee comes your way at about twenty minutes. Fantastic conversation. We had with the former Arkansas. Governor yesterday, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, dad, again, that's coming up in about twenty five minutes to get Michael spray hand right afterwards. So you're gonna love the next hour of the Bernie and sit show. So later on today I think this is the first time in probably six or seven months Bernard, but I'm not wearing a button down high bar. Joseph Abboud nice shirt, excuse me. Nice dress show, whether I would jeans or slacks or a sport jacket, I wear a nice button down almost every single day extreme today. Bro very straight in rumble, man. That's it jeans sit t-shirt blue. You look like one of the league's on the subway, basically, one of the central park, five. Right. Like one of those when you go that far. No. The pants on his begi dog. But that dog. Well, yes. You look to well, Jewish. No, I wasn't going to say that brought it up to Jewish. So now there is a reason for that, because I am traveling today to the show. I'm getting Corp, pick me up at ten fifteen downstairs right, the LaGuardia Airport, taking a plane to to Logan, and I'll be taken from there to lunch to meet Joseph Abboud. And then at three thirty this afternoon playing Joseph Abboud annual softball game at Fenway park leading off at second base at Fenway park. I know crazy crazy, so excited Joseph sent me this beautiful uniform. It's on my social media Twitter at sit Rosenberg, Instagram. Sid Rosenberg Facebook said Rosenberg. You can see the jersey, my name on it, very, very cool. So be in Boston today, playing softball at Fenway park, which is kind of cool when you consider that one of the biggest stories in the papers today, and in the news today, and we just got more information is that now they've already got ten ten people in custody for the shooting of David Ortiz. And just very recently, they've arrested the man who actually put the hit hit out, I should say on big Papi's. I'll be at Fenway park today as they continue to round up. The guy that tried to kill David Ortiz. What a coincidence and unbelievable. Tight myself right in, like only I can do look listen. It's a vaunted venue, that Fenway park, of course. Babe Ruth played in that part. He did. I mean it's just the, the green monster Williams. David many just goes on and on. Outside the Yankees has no organization may be in professional sport that has the tradition of the Boston Red summits. And still has the original park original that I think the one in Chicago Wrigley field, Wrigley ADM long God, but Fenway, I remember going to Boston Garden to watch the Celtics in the old Boston Garden. I mean they actually had, you know, bats pigeons flying around I swear to God it was a disaster on the rule. I know but it had that there was no, I don't believe there was air conditioning. I don't remember it was like moldy and not only know where conditioning, but one of the most famous moments in NBA history. The Celtics play in the Lakers in the NBA Champa and Kohima bar almost died. He lost twenty five pounds one game with all the water that he lost. Yeah. It's one most famous stories and MBA history. Now, of course they play at the very beautiful. I think it's called the TD center, which is where the old Boston Gordon was, but in terms of the old fields. You know you've got Yankee Stadium. We done them. Beautiful stadiums came on just gorgeous the Saint Louis cardinals played a beautiful stadium, but Wrigley field in Chicago, and Fenway park dot green, monster Penske poll. I'm gonna hit that today. I'm gonna hit the green monster. No cushy seats. No, no, no, no, no. Foamy cushy. It's just it's, it's, it's, it's, it's Spartan. It's a sport in place. But it's again a very well respected and honored place so good for you. You try tallow playing against, you know, I don't know I should know this, but I don't know. I just Joseph team. I'm leading off and playing second base. And I haven't played softball baseball six years. And we've got a big game coming up the burning sydell stores, taking on channel five and fact I mentioned channel five my favorite reporter and all of New York City Kayla Malek, who I did watch this morning. She actually broke the Andrew Cuomo driver's license story to me, I was watching her out about a qu-. Five this morning. Talk about that story. She's magnificent reporter. See she's going to play. I think so. You and I ain't gonna play channel five coming up on July the twenty four and shows. Today's going to be a good warm up for me. Do you have a glove? Amusing Joseph glove. That's week. My glove is upstate at my parents house, who I was away so Kayla. I thought I saw her at about a quarter to six at a fire in Brooklyn. No, she was still covering the komo's stuff. I as far as I have mix them mixed up because I think what was the fire in Brooklyn was a Carey drew, maybe or. Somebody looked like Taylor. She's doing the Cuomo stuff and she goes in and out of the truck. Those back in the truck and puts on Bernie sin like Robert Moses does when he's sitting outside Madison Square Garden after a big time support story. We love these channel five them all a gen Llamas and sukey tina's Vaasie on baroque Shem tov and Mike. Woods and Kayla. I just love him a love them. So you're gonna come back tonight. Yeah. Actually, I land Bernie the game is at three thirty. He expected to end about five thirty then he's taking me some fancy seafood restaurant in Boston. I think an eight o'clock or eight thirty flight home. I'll be back in my bed before ten o'clock tonight. It's not bad. It's only a fifty four minute. I think I've done it many, many times. Yeah. Many times up to Boston. Abate is a hop. Skip and a jump provided everything goes. Well, right. I spent a couple of nights in Logan airport because. Well, we gotta shut down everything because of the fog. Oh boy. That that has happened to be in the past. Barring that you'll be fine. I'll be fine. You're going to be great. It's going to be very exciting. So anyway. We'll get to those, those stories. We just mentioned, of course OJ Simpson. And we just talked about David Ortiz. They've got the man in custody. The man that affect put it out on what tease, maybe not. We'll find out what.

Did that was a mistake. You're talking about come out Harrison's. I like I really like. That s all the almost happy birthday that act like an idiot one that I ever say come on the Harris. Matty, did you hear that ever once? Nope. No over here that no Chris Matthews, what's extolling produce. And by the way, he's allowed and don't ask. How bony puts up with me. Okay. Money's lucky to have me knows it. We have a difference in opinions. Sometimes listen, sometimes, I agree. I've come around on Trump. I did not vote for him. I like him he's guilty here. It's my opinion bottom line. But you don't think. So that's fine. But he's guilty. He got lucky he really got lucky that his minions didn't carry out what he wanted him to carry out or he would have been guilty of obstruction. That's a fact that's not an opinion. That's a fact if Corey Lewandowski and McCain and all these guys dip began I should say did what Donald Trump wanted them to do. He'd be guilty of obstruction. That's a fact. Can you know what they didn't? So now he's walking around like he's beaten the world. And that's good. Because I want him to be president not come out of Harris. John listen, take the stuff out of your ears. Not come out of Harris. Not bony Sanders. Not Joe Biden, not voted not a rock. I want Trump. But when he lies when he screws up, and he does all of all of that. I'm going to call them out. Suck. I said on Breitbart dot com last week. They loved Trump. That's what they still put me on their respect me because I don't suck up to him every single time. Pat, he lost the game to Vince Lombardi lost the game onto Bill Parcells most the game to the idea. This guy is perfect is beyond silly. And in this case, he skated he got lucky. And he's going to be okay. When it comes to criminal charges, politically, this can still be a mess. But don't talk to me about. How does party put up on me? Shut up. Because I tell you the truth 'cause I'm rational. Donald Trump makes duty I call it duty catava chocolate. "Couple of meeting this morning going back you hurt sit sports Sunday yesterday or just follow me on Twitter at sid Rosenberg Facebook. Sid Rosenberg on Instagram. Sid Rosenberg, you know, the experience with my family at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night, specifically, my son Gabriel, but above and beyond that when you know, the big story in this city today is all about taxes and the amount of people that are doing what I did. I did it move verse. Usually when you get older your move to Miami. I did it reverse. I came back when I was in my late forties. But tons of people fleeing the city because of the taxes the just the the unbelievable taxes many heading down to Miami. So whether it's Dwayne Wade and the Miami Heat taken on the Knicks at the garden on Saturday night or the millions of you leaving the city, and we locating to Miami. Billy Joel's, Miami two thousand seventeen is a perfect way to stop this Bernie and stayed in the morning show on this Monday morning with that said good morning Bernard. Sid Rosenberg I can't wait to hear the glory that you experienced on Saturday night. I did see the pictures. You did. Yes. I wish that I had watched the game. I forgot you were at that game. You know, the game should've texted me and said, hey, check me courtside. I would've I would've been riveted. Well, you use must've been ringing because everybody we saw Danielle myself gavea sent their regards to you from Steve Sharipov to Mike Breen, of course, Britney loves you. But you know, the game didn't mean much it meant nothing for the Knicks. The Knicks have already lost sixty two basketball games this year. They are historically awful horrible. It didn't mean a lot from Miami. If you're a heap in Miami right now is battling the New Jersey. Nets who did B Boston in Brooklyn on Saturday. And the Orlando Magic for the last playoff spot in the Eastern Conference right now the heat owner that eighth and final spot. So when the Knicks were beating Miami midway through the third quarter that was actually a big deal for Miami. But it meant nothing to the Knicks. But the big. Night was all about Dwayne Wade. Yes. And you know, all those majestic battles Bernie over the years. I mean. When we think about the great heat. Nick, rivalries, we go back to the teams before Dwayne Wade the team to the Lonzo morning. Tim Hardaway going up against Patrick Ewing. Alan houston. Larry Johnson people Jeff Van Gundy, holding onto Alonzo mornings leg, that's what you think. The halcyon days. Right. He's a three dollar word since then, you know, you've got that one. You know, Carmelo Anthony team, but wait has been so good winning championship with Shaquille O'Neal, people forget beating Dallas in Miami than winning two championships alongside LeBron James and Chris Bosh since the Nixon not believe in all that good. So the rivalry is not the same like it was twenty years ago with Ben Gandhi and Pat Riley. But nevertheless, Dwayne Wade is at magical moments in New York there are so many New Yorkers that spent so much time down in south Florida that bottle Dwayne Wade that you would have thought this is unbelievable. You would've thought on Saturday night? You want the American Airlines arena in Miami the chance and the applause for Dwayne Wade every time he touched the basketball. You would have thought Bernie during Miami. Fans knick fans or basketball fans. I mean, they respect talent. And they, you know, they're they're graceful that way. Yeah. It doesn't matter if your opponent. I mean, he was a worthy opponent. He's a good guy. Great guy, and it was a sendoff. Yeah. He actually kissed the floor. So you saw that. Right. We were actually walking gave an eye towards that side of the court to take the pictures when he bent over and kissed the cord and just to make it quick. So the game ends and Miami wins. So I knew I was coming to town, and Tony Zell was kind enough to give me his tickets, and he sits right in the middle of the court. But by the scores table second row, the best seats in the house. Wait sweet right by the scores right by the scores table opposite the visiting bench the best seats in the house. So Corey couldn't make dinner with me. And Danielle goes, listen can't make dinner take my seat. Miami's in town. No, you covered the heat. Dwayne Wade take the seats. So we go to the game. We watch the game. Now, this is Dwayne Wade central. We saw something like this in New York with Derek Jeter. Mariano Rivera their last season was a big sendoff. They were getting gifts at every other stadium all these types of celebrations. So this was twain Wade's last game ever at Madison Square Garden in New York, which was the big deal. So after every game he takes one picture one with somebody in the stands. So it just turns out that New York jet Pro Bowl safety Jamal Adams was at the game. And that was the guy that Dwayne Wade said he would take a picture with Jamal Adams who I saw you had taken a picture with him as well. Right. He was winning take his picture. Right. So why contact Miami Heat go? Listen, listen, I know Jamal Adams peak-time star come sit a couple of your team for a decade amid New York still talking about your team, I've met Dwayne talk to twain. Likes me. So the guy with the heat goes over Dwayne Wade true story goes, hey, twain, only take one picture on the road. But Sydney's kid really wanna take a picture with you. Are you? Okay with that. No problem. Have a meet me after the game game ends the guy for the heat who remain nameless walks over to me. And Danielle said since it gives me a credential gives Gabriel credential walks us on the court to the other side of the court would Dwayne Wade is doing post game interviews and two seconds later bomb. Picture me ways such as how memories are made talk. Just like that this guy Adams did he ever get his pick? Yeah. Yeah. He did he actually took it. I mean, Gabe, then we all left together. And the story ends with this. I go home I go to bed. I wake up yesterday morning to do sit. Sports sunday. I get a text to all eight AM when the Miami Heat arrived in Boston. They've got a huge game against the Celtics later on tonight from Dwayne Wade to eight AM Sunday morning. Nice to see you. Nice to meet your son. Good luck. Danielle wake up done on the legal. The night before again, and again, so that was this descent crazy. Co guy. He's very cool. Very cool. You know, he there was this Emmanuel moody asked him for his jersey. And he said he's like, I'm sorry. He said no can't have it really moody had a big night that night to he killed in the the the heat that night. I guess maybe he thought he was entitled. Well, they do do that too. We go all these cities. He goes to they do a play called the jersey transfer to moody, not too moody. And he just out and out rejected actually caught it on tape. Wow. What after the game after the game? They say he said he was giving it to it was given to somebody else already brings one. Well, let's jerseys wearing in the game giving to I don't know y'all do some research right now. See we swapped. I can't imagine anybody on the Knicks worthy of getting his jersey. That's probably why there's no veterans Patrick Ewing was still here or give it to. As actually grabbing them by the chest. You know? Forget the jersey. Thank you sticking them up. Steve so ripple was so pissed coarser Ripa. God bless them. Knicks sixty two games are awful. But it's still a great experience. You know, the the Gordon is packed. No doubt about it. It's not a seat available. But look there's millions and millions of people in this city millions if not a basketball court, it's a stage. Right. I mean, the fact that you get seventeen thousand in a city of millions of people is not that astonishing. It's Saturday night. It's midtown Manhattan. The food is great the atmosphere is amazing. You get to go out afterwards. So when people are amazed that the Knicks sellout, even when they're bad. I don't understand why they're there so amazed. It's an event more than a game. And if the Knicks happened to win that's a miracle. So she'll ripple goes to every game just about and he's furious that knick fans or cheering for Dwayne Wade and cheering for weighed in a New York arena. As a matter of fact, Steve ship was there the day of the Super Bowl? That's right. Remember that? I do. That's all die hard. That's right. Yes. So he's he's another good guy. As a matter of great guy. John McEnroe was dick. With his hat on and his I tried to get his attention. And he saw me ten times. AM? I did his stupid television show with you. And I miss about ten times. He completely ignored us wouldn't give you what's up nothing. Patrick Mahomes, gave me the thumbs up the quick Kansas City Chiefs quarterback. All right. So you would expect that he's a class class guy. John Turturro class guy. John McEnroe, dick still. Come on. Nothing's changed. Nothing at all. So that was a great Saturday night. The Dwayne Wade Rosenberg family experience. I've got one more night to talk about Bernie Friday night. What an amazing job by Leslie slender our sales guy Jimmy and corvee his goal Mia. "At sign up Twitter at sid Rosenberg Facebook. Sid Rosenberg Instagram. Sid Rosenberg to take part in the sports bracket challenge. Again. We'll be announcing what the prizes are maybe is only as this afternoon. I'm working very hard. And getting you guys maybe a free weekend at the hard rock hotel and casino in Atlantic City, talking to my good friend, Bernie Dillon on those folks as we speak, but make sure regardless tonight, probably about nine o'clock time, we'll know by seven or eight who the combatants sixty eight teams will be in guns. He will put all of the the challenges up on all of my social media website. So we're not bothering me yet. Make sure you do it. Now again. Sid Rosenberg Adsett Rosenberg on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, and you'll have a chance to compete starting later on tonight right through Thursday for a chance act. Some really really cool prices, of course, up to the station to allow me to give away what I want. But I'm sure they will. We'll switch gears. For a second. We'll get back to NCW basketball later, Nicole our back from the up let it will join us. But big news from the Yanks gets set to start the season coming up in the Bronx already next Thursday, March twenty eighth hosting the Baltimore Orioles news on their ace pitcher. They're blue chip prospect in the organization at one a spring. It's been whole ready for Aaron judge. He looks like a beast with all that said Kenny do see for medicine. Why is down in Tampa Florida making his debut here on sit sports Sunday with the recommendation of both Mike Gunzelman and the great tunnel. Mcshane who I spoke to last night because then believe you Gundy. Here's here's Kennedy do. So you good morning, Kenny. How are you pal? Good morning said it's great to be here. I'm glad that. I'm glad that this double check to make sure. Yeah. And I love country, but I can't trust them. So I did tax Connell. And he's now the kids actually he said, and I quote, he's worthy of a shot. He can't be any worse than dot dot dot guns. Thanks, so anyway, good morning. You're down in Tampa. What's what's the weather down there today? Well, you know, it's been pretty much the same. It's very warm, and you know, the feeling around the Yankees hurt business like very. Between the Yankees and the mess. And you know, honestly, the Mets. Kind of a more optimistic field the Yankees, it's very much more businesslike with them. But yeah, you can't beat that for the weather. All you, can I can't wait to go. Well, listen, there's a big difference. The Mets have really not been good for a couple of years. They won the World Series against the royals a couple of years ago, but they brought in the new GM van wagon. They've been making moves. So there is some optimism. It's always business as usual for the Yankees Kenny based on expectations because every year the Yankees are expected to battle Boston for the AL if not to go to the World Series. We know they were very very close two years ago losing to Houston in the AL CS. They want one hundred one games last year. When you went include the wild card win, so the expectations again that the Yankees are going to be right there. Have you seen anything this spring? That tells you otherwise. Well, I mean, look they're a Joe results in spring training. Don't really mean anything, but they are winning a lot of games and the depth at this team provides I think that everyone's really blown away by the way that, you know, just the new pieces like these data may have hit could Fraser as as looks like, you know, he's he's free of his concussion issues, which is great you mentioned Aaron judge's play. I think one of the things with judge that so impressive is it every single season that he's really just he's gotten better at one thing, and he's continued to make strides forward, which is which is a really good sign especially for someone coming through their prime. If they're going to continue to get better at first you really couldn't make contact at all. And then he showed up some of those issues making contact with them off speed pitches. But every single year, it seems to make more and more contact which I think is a very encouraging sign because you see a big big guy is this guy could make contact with seventy five eighty percent of the, you know, the the swings that he takes he'd be unstoppable. And I think that that's sort of where he's trending now. Many wants to break the home run record. And this guy if he would just make contact with Moore pitches be a little more disciplined at the plate to do that. And I think that he's he's headed in that direction. We'll see obviously how the results translate from from spring training to regular season. But you know, if he could way also sliders if he could you know discipline himself at home plate. I really think that this guy could break the home run record just based on the strength that he has. And the, you know, the the speed and what's the ball comes off his bat when he does make contact. So if you're looking for reasons, you know, to kind of feel like the Yankees are safe to come. Or at least compete for it. I think judges the first place to start. And then, you know, I I really I love I I wrote about it at S. And y love the way the addition of DJ LeMay here because the Yankees desperately needed a detail may who in their lineup they need somebody who's gonna make contact. Hi, Ray DJ omega who wanted to top ten guys in baseball at contact rate. He is going to get on base for this team. He's gotta drive in some runs. Hopefully, you know, with with the way that Stanton and judge of walked in their careers. You know, he'll he'll be able to drive in runs, but he's tremendous statistically with runners on base. He makes a lot of contact. And he is a perfect addition to gonna play a lot. So I guess weirdly judge's an easy one to pick. But I really think I'm very excited about DJ LeMay who to and and the early returns that they've seen from him. All right. Kenny to see down in south Florida down in Tampa. I should say not south forty Yankees getting ready for the start of the regular season. So bad news. Oh, well this week. We we knew that Luis Severino fresh off his forty million dollar brand new four year deal was going to miss his first start back Tanaka will be the opening day starter for the Yankees for the fourth time in five years. Now, we find out that injuries actually worse than we thought. Now, they're saying not just the first part, but maybe through may. So what is what is actually going on with Severino and how much time we expect? He's going to miss. What's what's funny is we actually had one of our reporters reach out to a surgeon when the injury I happened. And he said that the. Expected with an injury like that Sabrina to be out until may first. So I, you know, I think that it's kind of, you know, something where know one of those cases where I really like the teams, you know, trying to sort together what exactly the timetable is going to be before they say anything, and then you know, the follow up questions happened. Eventually it comes out when they're ready, but I don't think there was any sort of setback here. I think the good news is that look Severino finish the year pretty poorly last season. And a lot of people had, you know, even the most confident Severino backers had their doubts about whether this guy could be a top of the rotation guy or not just because the way he fell apart down the stretch in the second half. And so I think that the reason that they got James Paxton was because of Severino struggle. So you know, I think they were prepared for this. I think that you have to just fill in the back end of your attention. Now, I think that you you still have your real ace impacts that. I think he was going to be the guy to lead district. The season unless Severino cook that job from him Tanaka behind them. So you know, I again, it's also you know, we're talking about the beginning of the season. When you know, there's a lot of variables with how teams are playing slow starters. Hot starters. I'm not too worried about the way that the Severino injury impacts them. Obviously, the only concern is you know, how long it actually takes them to get the full strength and pitch like yourself again that might be mid may. They might be late may. But I think that they have the firepower to deal with with the injury while he's out they been looking into the free agent market. The report saying that they're looking at you Gonzales, you mentioned that the Yankees lost. The Astros nail CFC also in the wildcard game the guy the common denominator. There is Dallas Tikal kinda surprising that they're they're. So they're so out on him. They don't you don't really hear any any murmurs about them going after kaikal considering the time they've seen up close. How dominant is against them edited want a guy like that on your side. But I think that. You know, they might wanna be looking for a cheaper option just because it is a temporary replacement. But interesting thing that I really haven't heard anyone talks how it is the fact that they're gonna if they signed GIO Gonzalez James Paxton Tabatha half. I mean, you know, you're gonna have like four or five lefties in your rotation which is just crazy to think about because there's two years ago. The Yankees were really struggling for another left-hander even last year. Really they were looking for a lefty because they had Sebastian, but they want to add another lefty they got half. And now they got taxed, and I mean, it's it's if they added another lefty and free agency kind of a unique pitching staff away with the Yankees. But I think that they're fine. I think they're well equipped to handle this. You know, I think is probably the guy that comes out and pitches at the back of the rotation. They they have been happy with her mom the way he's been pitched. But if I had to guess assessments been the best out of a mall Louise's has been the best out of a mall. He's been on cable, which is crazy because. I really think that they felt like he was throwaway piece in the in that do they got Chad green and sesa- in a package deal for Justin Wilson. And you know, they always like chef the more. They really think Chad green. It'd be this good. But I mean, he is really finally showing them that he can pitch. And I think that, you know, this this could be the best that we see again, you know, we've seen the Yankees in the past especially you know, if present strain training and that flop in the regular season. But I think, you know, just like you said has been great. I her mom's been great. I think that they have enough of these young arms that they can at least take a go into the regular season with with one or two of those guys pitching maybe rotating into that last spot and see if they're good. Yeah. See what happens because I think the last year there were pleasantly surprised when it came up. They got three guys, but they feel confident and you don't need to go out and spend ten million dollars for one year of Dallas Tikal just again because Severino is gonna come back. It's not like he's out forever. So yeah. I think they're in a decent spot. I really don't think there's too much cause for panic. All right. Kenny great job. Appreciate you hopping on today. Terrific job. In fact, any others live with the Mets, obviously. And I said why? But he's in Tampa these days covering the New York Yankees. Thank you so much sit sports Sunday, buddy. Nice job any anytime. It was a pleasure to make my debut at McConnell. I said hi you've got Kenny Kenny do see follow him on Twitter at Kenny. Do.

"Didn't know what I was doing this. My first time than last year didn't really I mean, I didn't play one I didn't run. Why didn't play one snap of out? Here wants now. Take a few of bats in most of those probably took a step back because I was trying to do it with that form in pain. So I had to wait heal up. So I feel like this'll be hopefully, a good spring training for all right now. Let's get to the biggest sports story of the day. And that was what transpired in a not in a courtroom. I think most fans don't understand this the suit, I guess where Colin Kaepernick, and Eric read one they want there reports that got fifty to eighty million no one will confirm or deny that that was a collective bargaining agreement. Sit down there was not an it was not an a civil court. It was not in a court of law. It was a CBA decision. So common cabinet did not go to court sue the NFL. And when he did not do that fact you're going to hear in a couple of seconds here from his attorney the same guy that represented, Michael. Jackson one of the very famous defense attorneys at the guys me and Bernie have on Joe taka Pena, authorize dollar Jose Baez. He's got Jericho's cabinet. And they did win in the CBA talks. And those guys are getting paid on top of that. I will say this because I'm all over social media with this stuff Twitter at sid Rosenberg Instagram. Sid Rosenberg Facebook sid Rosenberg. I think a lot of guys and girls out there think that because Kapor Nick one part of the agreement was that he couldn't play in the NFL anymore. That is one thousand percent incorrect. In fact, Eric Reed who was a teammate of Colin in San Francisco was also with Colin on this lawsuit. They both get paid. We'd is already signed a three year deal with the Carolina Panthers. So if you're under the impression that Colin Kaepernick part of the deal was he can't play anymore. You are wrong. In fact, his attorney goes thinks so play this year. Don't forget the Carolina Panthers. The same team that just signed Derek Reid who won in this lawsuit. They don't have a quarterback this year. They're starting quarterback. Cam new. Newton is out for the year with an injury. They need a quarterback. So yesterday on CNN, my friend, Ana Cabrera on with a bunch of times, myself months CNN, she interviewed Marghera goes happenings attorney, and they talked about that specifically capman coming back this year, even after winning the CBA just two days ago and playing in the NFL I talked to call today not about anything else than his desire to play. So he wants to play in the NFL. Absolutely. What's the was to compete at the highest level? I'm this is a competitive young, man. He's only thirty one years old says not somebody who's over the hill is someone who's in his prime you get smarter at that position. And he's wise beyond his year. You only took a one cut you didn't take the Cup. We actually predicted the teams he may play for you should have done that patriots Panthers was one more guns. You remember? He actually mentioned three teams in that CNN the view that he thinks Colin has a very good shot of playing for. Anyway, going back to how I started this conversation. This was a CB deal not a court. And if it sounds confusing, maybe it's Tony Geragos. Can explain it right here with the difference between the criminal system where you're fighting over somebody's liberty and the civil Justice system, which is anything that's not criminal is all you're doing is fighting over money. That's what civil justices. So whether you file on a quarter, you go to arbitration and mediation, or in this case a collective bargaining agreement all an arbitrator all a judge in ultima. If you go to court all Jerry can do is just shift money around. That's what we do. Well, let me explain my feelings on this. Now, you listen to Bernie and sit in the morning, you know, that Bernie, and I are lockstep in this one lockstep. I think Colin Kaepernick is a phony grandstanding creek. That's what I think. He did not want to do this. This was his girlfriend's idea. If you would have set the Colin Kaepernick when he started kneeling. Hey, Colin this good chance you're never going to play in the NFL. Again. He never would have done it. He never would have done. No. After became obvious. And nobody wanted to sign him excuse me. After it became obvious. And nobody wanted to sign him. Then all of a sudden, he became Mr. social Justice. That'd be him with the forty Niners. We played in the Super Bowl. Got a really short haircut. Always wearing an afro every picture. I see a common competent. He was an apple. I never saw plate Nevada. I don't play with the forty Niners. No afro grew up with a white mother lived in a white neighborhood. So when people say to me, why do you have a problem with Colin? Listen, here's a funny. I do disagree. I do think there's an issue. I don't think it's nearly as big as Connell wants you to believe, I think they conflicted and exaggerated, and they do demonize cops. Let's not forget, folks. When Colin Kaepernick started this. He showed up at talk this one day wearing socks. Which depicted cops as pigs. Peaceful protests my s. He showed up at practice which socks that depicted. Cops as pigs. That's hey, that's hate in your heart. There's nothing more. You can say about it. This is not a peaceful protest. This is not a man that all of a sudden woke up one day and thought about the injustice this girlfriend winding them up with a pair of hateful socks. And now he's what Martin Luther King. Now. He's Muhammad Ali. Now, he's Malcolm X hundred million dollars later. And his sycophants. Of course. They're like sheep white liberals black ball players. He's a hero. He's a hero, by the way. He may have done other eighty million dollars yesterday. I don't know. And he still might play in the NFL maybe this year. What is Colin Kaepernick, really sacrificed? Honestly, what does he sacrificed? Then we all agree. Dr king sacrificed a lot. Took a bullet. Mohammad Ali came back. Obviously had a great career. But I'm not sure what this kid has sacrificed. I never believed from day one his heart was in this. I just believe as time went along and more and more people hopped on the bandwagon and his buddies and his friends and our sycophants. Egged him on. He became that guy. Then he had no choice. But also say this I I've never heard any of these men whether it's Colin Kaepernick, LeBron James all these guys at yell and scream I mean, LeBron James referring to owners, I slave owners. In a league with these guys make millions if not hundreds of millions of dollars is so insulting. And so pathetic. I don't know. How you take anything that man says and I love LeBron love him. Great player. How do you take anything? He says seriously. How do you do it? Slave owners. I've never heard these guys once on exactly what they're upset about not want. Let me see common complex sit down. And I don't care if it's Rachel Maddow. And Chris Matthews who love him was Sean Hannity, who'll rhythm new asshole shouldn't stand on a Sunday morning. I'm going to say. I don't care who it is. Have you ever seen Colin Kaepernick, sit down and say, this is what is wrong with us society? Have you ever heard LeBron James, I hate Trump and the cops hate us. That's an out if that's it. Which of course is not true. Do I think there's an issue? Sure, I've got a cousin in Atlanta. Well, just two weeks ago at the Super Bowl. Great kid starting quarterback straight A student. My cousin blackhead it's been stopped twice twice over the last year. You know what? Because he's black now that does speak to the point that cabinet, and jeans and all these guys try to make. And it does happen in bigger numbers than that. But not in the numbers that they want you to believe. And when you're wearing socks that depict cops is pigs and going out there, and basically demonizing police at every single turn all his cabinet if this. Because oh by a brand new house. Now, I'm sure he's got plenty of money. What is window breaks at three o'clock in the morning? Is he gonna call Eric agreed? His buddy in the lawsuit was unicol the men in blue that. He depicted his picks now wants to call that that he wins. He wins. But he's a hypocrite, and they're all hypocrites. And this was bad business for the NFL. If the NFL paid him a hundred million dollars that is a drop in the bucket for the NFL. That's a drop in the bucket fifty million eighty million a hundred million that's a dinner for Roger Goodell. They want this to go away. They've had enough. So in this case believe it or not everybody one cap on IQ one because he gets his money, and he got to win the NFL wins because they pay this guy a drop in the bucket. And now he's got a shut up that's part of the agreement. Maybe he even plays again. So everybody wins with this. That's the God's honest truth. People were saying Catholic wins NFL loses. No NFL wins. They can't wait to cut this guy. A check just shut up. Please shut up nobody Neal's anymore. Go back to the Super Bowl. People talk. More about Gladys. Gladys Knight's rendition of the star spangled banner the actual boring football game. Deservedly sumptuous magnificent. We cares. Let us enjoy our football. Let us enjoy basketball.
