"Michael i use on energy. What do you wanna talk i. I'm glad that we focused on a little bit of hope. Because i do feel you know as as you point out this line. My priest father. George shutler as differential in the scottish optimistic scottish pessimist. Scottish optimists says he's got a pessimist rather says thanks. Can't get any worse. Scottish optima says oh yes they can and we do it all the time and i think there actually is great cause for hope one of my fears for twenty twenty two and twenty twenty four. I think we're we could easily retake the house. And i think that we could do well in twenty twenty four if the elections are fair. I know we're not allowed to make any comments. You know in the big tackle shut us down. But i'm just pointing. There's always fraud in elections every at both sides. You're always trying to game. The system and democrats took a huge advantage by pushing widespread mail in voting in some places in contravention of state constitutions by pushing ballot harvesting by pushing motor-voter laws. They've been doing this for decades right. This is nothing really new. And i was really pleased to see that that the republicans on capitol hill. Yeah have shut down the biggest election power. Grab that we've seen from democrats possibly ever s one h one. The corrupt politicians act. They had to should've korkut. Here's how i'm very down on the republican party in our elected officials you. During the first two years of the trump administration we controlled the white house and both chambers of congress republicans who controlled the governorship and both chambers of the state legislature in texas for nineteen years uninterrupted. And what do we do when we have power. Virtually nothing and everyone always tell you why. Well there was this mitigating circumstance. You you know we needed one more vote or we needed one more. This one more that at a certain point that you have to realize oh no. They do exactly what they want to do. They don't want to do anything that changes the fundamental argument in the country so example the most unifying issue for republicans is the abortion issues. The most important social issue Certainly of the last half century if the right if our politicians actually act decisively against abortion. And there's no reason to vote for them anymore. I honestly think they think this way these of course they stood up and did the right thing were the corrupt politicians actors concerned because they personally have something to lose if they lead the democrats completely remake elections in the country. They might lose their power to tell us. They're going to do a bunch of things that they'll never ever ever die the way. Notice this issue that you're talking about abortion. This is the one issue that basically all the conservatives can agree on notice. And we've we've actually made progress on abortion. We've at least held. The line noticed that that is basically the one issue that conservatives argue from the standpoint of justice right so many other issues. We argue from this kind of utilitarian argument from efficiency. Well you go work around the edges and you increase efficiency but abortion is just. This is wrong and we're going to stand against it and i'm noticing especially those parents up to the school board. They're making arguments. This is wrong. This is right and we're going to stand for what because because they're humans than our politicians pundits their actual people who want their children to be taught moral things. And you're you're absolutely right about this. And the other thing that i will say because what you just said i could not agree with more except that i do believe we are asking republicans to do something that goes against the nature of politicians. Were asking him to have less power. And that's that means that they're paddling upstream while the left is writing the rapid sounds. And i think that is a difficult job. So here's a great question from daily wire dot com subscriber. At what point do we stop pointing out the left crecy. They couldn't care less and the sheep will acknowledge the crecy anyway. Are we doing the wrong thing to point out that they're hypocrites. I think it's important because there are group of people in the middle who are under the fundamental assumption that the left is moral and the right is immoral. Because that's the line that the left is consistently pushing so when you point out their hypocrisy you're basically saying no you you don't hold any sort of moral high ground particularly on these principles that yourself do not whole but the general critique which is that the ratings to stop whining about the left being hypocritical and instead needs to just fight the left on its own terms. I think that there is certainly some some truth to that. I think that can go too far. And i'm afraid of that. Because i think that there's a push on the right right now to subvert our own fundamental principles with regard to for example liberalism on on things like free speech in order to quote unquote. Fight the left and that does not mean that there aren't things that we can do. There are one hundred percent things that we can do. But i think that very often the so on the positive side. The critique of hypocrisy suggests that you shouldn't try to shame people who can't be shamed which i agree with the on the other side. It seems to me that very often people who wanna critique the right for pointing out hypocrisy really wants to subvert the fundamental principle which that there should be an evenly held standard across both right and left instead. They say okay well. Fluffed is going to be hypocrites about things then we should do. We might as well just club them in the face using equally deplorable tactics. That i have the problem with the hypocrisy argument. That was a too often accepts. The values of the left circle the left. Says you know we have strong women and we said well. Hillary just married into power and we are women are stronger and you think well maybe the answer is the strength is not the only virtual may strength as a male virtue in there are other caitlyn general ripe. But they would say they'll be using the argument. They're constantly saying well. You know when you critique anybody whose transgender because you're transphobic and then they would critique it'll be like well now is the trans transform or the real the real trance when the supreme court cases came out and Eighty conybeare. it voted to not take this case on obamacare. A third attempt to overturn obamacare. And the court didn't want to take it and there were some conservatives who came out and said haha oh the left is going to be so embarrassed. 'cause they said right that was going to be the vote against obamacare. How we showed them take that lives. And if we keep owning the lives by holding obamacare. we're not gonna make conservative movement left. However i will say that senator whitehouse who represents many not many but several liberals what mino bleep belongs to a an all white club. The guy's a thug to begin with these been committing thuggery against the supreme court trying to intimidate them into giving leftist.

And <Speech_Male> what should americans <Speech_Male> commemorate <Speech_Male> and celebrate <SpeakerChange> on <Speech_Male> june team. <Speech_Male> Thank you <Speech_Male> Professor jones <Speech_Male> actually stole my closing <Speech_Male> line. Which was <Speech_Male> that juneteenth <Speech_Male> really is. <Speech_Male> It seems <Speech_Male> like it has come <Speech_Male> to be the culmination <Silence> <Speech_Male> of a debate. <Speech_Male> That blacks <Speech_Male> have been carrying <Speech_Male> out amongst themselves <Speech_Male> and with white <Speech_Male> neighbors presumably <Speech_Male> but especially amongst <Speech_Male> themselves about <Speech_Male> how to <Speech_Male> deal with <Speech_Male> emancipation <Speech_Male> and <Speech_Male> abolition. <Speech_Male> She mentioned <Speech_Male> ambivalence <Speech_Male> of sa- great <Speech_Male> word to describe their <Speech_Male> own decision <Speech_Male> to say. You know what <Speech_Male> we mark <Silence> our liberation <Speech_Male> in <Speech_Male> the law <Speech_Male> in the constitution <Speech_Male> as <Speech_Male> a monumental <Speech_Male> event <Speech_Male> but with some <Speech_Male> trepidation <Speech_Male> because we're <Speech_Male> to do so <Speech_Male> has to <Speech_Male> involve <Speech_Male> reminding ourselves <Speech_Male> and <Speech_Male> the nation at large <Speech_Male> that we once treated <Speech_Male> people the <Speech_Male> worst way you <Speech_Male> treat them and that is <Speech_Male> to say as <Speech_Male> damir beasts of the <Speech_Male> field and <Speech_Male> so blacks had <Speech_Male> debated within <Speech_Male> themselves. Well <Speech_Male> should <Speech_Male> we celebrate something <Speech_Male> where we <Speech_Male> have to remind <Speech_Male> what had happened <Speech_Male> to most of us. <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> Not all of us. But <Speech_Male> most of us on american <Speech_Male> soil <Speech_Male> and so the debate <Speech_Male> was is it september. <Speech_Male> Twenty second <Speech_Male> when lincoln issues. <Speech_Male> Preliminary emancipation <Speech_Male> is january <Speech_Male> first when it <Speech_Male> finally came through <Speech_Male> when lightning <Speech_Male> struck right the telegraph <Speech_Male> where they got the word <Speech_Male> and it didn't <Speech_Male> come up and you know <Speech_Male> right after midnight came <Speech_Male> near <Speech_Male> noon or one <Speech_Male> when when lincoln finally <Speech_Male> was done <Speech_Male> Shaking hands <Speech_Male> Do <Speech_Male> we market on june nineteenth. <Speech_Male> And what. I like <Speech_Male> about june nineteenth. <Speech_Male> Or i don't <Speech_Male> think to replace july <Speech_Male> fourth. I don't think it <Speech_Male> should be equal to july <Speech_Male> fourth of <Speech_Male> july fourth. <Speech_Male> But for the emancipation <Speech_Male> proclamation. There <Speech_Male> would of course be no <Speech_Male> juneteenth. <Speech_Male> But what i call <Speech_Male> it. A distinctly american <Speech_Male> holiday <Speech_Male> is precisely <Speech_Male> because marking <Speech_Male> liberation <Speech_Male> two. <Speech_Male> And a half years if <Speech_Male> you will after. The fact <Speech_Male> is <Speech_Male> so american <Speech_Male> right. It is such <Speech_Male> a way for us <Speech_Male> to be at least <Speech_Male> somewhat <Speech_Male> critical <Speech_Male> somewhat <Speech_Male> half the step <Speech_Male> removed to <Speech_Male> that great <Speech_Male> of lincoln's <Speech_Male> and the countries <Speech_Male> but also <Speech_Male> to remind ourselves. <Speech_Male> Wow this is a work. <Speech_Male> That isn't done by one <Speech_Male> man. It's not even <Speech_Male> done by government. It <Speech_Male> is a work that <Speech_Male> involves will <Speech_Male> we the people. <Speech_Music_Male> It involves all <Speech_Male> the american people <Speech_Male> and that means you have to get <Speech_Male> their consent <Speech_Male> and so the <Speech_Male> burden of <Speech_Male> continuing to <Speech_Male> remind <SpeakerChange> ourselves <Silence> of what the best <Speech_Male> of us <Speech_Male> is <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> and persuading <Speech_Male> each other <Speech_Male> at this really is <Silence> the best way to <Speech_Male> go <Speech_Male> That will remain. <Speech_Male> The task of every <Speech_Male> generation juneteenth <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> understood through <Speech_Male> the lens of july. Fourth <Speech_Male> <SpeakerChange> is a great <Silence> way to do that. <Speech_Male> Thank you <Speech_Male> so much for that. <Speech_Male> That was amazing while <Speech_Male> learned <Speech_Male> so much <Speech_Male> just super bravo <Speech_Music_Male> to perfectly phenomenal <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> to real <SpeakerChange> honor. America's much maligned vaccine roll out is actually going relatively well. At least compared to other wealthy countries. The us has carried out more vaccinations than country in the world and give it a first dose to a higher percentage of its population than but five countries. Israel the seychelles the uae the uk and bahrain in fact the us is distributing doses three times as quickly as the eu adjusted for population in nearly five times as quickly as canada. The us system major advantages over much of the world. Not only does. America have the money to reserve more doses that it could possibly use. It also has the capacity to manufacture them domestically candida slow rollout and the recent dispute overdoses between the eu and uk of underlying the difficulties of relying on imports. "Me tell you the the clydes right now i know you saying i don't know about poma basketball sneakers. Let me tell you the cap the classic style but added some new basketball technology. This is gonna be great. 'cause we call who's dynamic play that he is very explosive taking off from the ground out like the kind of shoot it as it has that new kind of technology that new tech and go in into certain way that i'm enjoying right now and guess. What would the fact that they got mellow. The clients are going to be very very quiz. I liked the calloway for the clydes. We're going to touch back at somebody different color way. But i have to give a shout out for those you know. Don't clai pro. Oh god clyde pro whose mma people wanna say cloud pro 'pumas to climb brokos by made data like this exquisite style of them. You're going to really really like going forward. i'm telling you palmas making. They're making a quite the right now. I liked it. I like where they're going with it. Speaking of where law going is celebrating. Yes commerce wanted to go ahead and celebrate the forty fifth anniversary of the merger of the mba. Aba we all remember the aba. Actually we don't all remember it but we got the clips from me. Let me tell you what the aba has provided to us. Not only just highlight basketball from dr j. 'cause i'm gonna let you know prior to the aviator. Nba was kind of boring. Aba stood by itself. They added something like three point. Line make you scored a little bit more exciting. Yes there would have been no steph curry without. Aba to and things like that. So i invented things and added border a lot. Lots of the nba commerce went ahead. And they said they're gonna make couple sneakers inbet- qalaway of of course you heard the aba. The aba beautiful ball was red widely blue. It was one of the more the one of the more significant get symbols of the aba. So of course. Of course they came through with some sneakers that were saying. They had the chuck seventies. We had to go ahead and make a away of that where. Aba logo on. It was nice. it's nice. I must say as logo has somebody original teams all along that red white and blue color way. It looks beautiful for all star. But i have to save the low top is it kinda looked kind of like the puma clydes if you really wanna look at it is about. It became out with three different shoes for this. Aba collection would that low tops. I like them because of the because of that. You know that that low look at low sleek Kind of like an indoor soccer soccer boot. Look i liked that. But i don't see to be functional to be playing on the court. It doesn't seem like it has great rip but something that i wear off the court especially your show my respects for the great little bobak shoe now the commerce of the pro ball shoot that they do have aba fro the nba. Calloway me myself is not what i'm looking for. It kind of reminds me. It's kind of like a little nod. Said weapons if you will and if you remember the weapons you know the ones that a larry birded magic johnson. War is seems like a little bit of a nod to it but we're the little new age flare. I liked the red white and blue on it because it does give. Aba look and with the aba on logo on tongue. It makes it look a little bit more sleek and a little bit more legit. But i can't see myself rocking that not me. maybe the low tops definitely chunks. But i couldn't see myself rock and the other ones. It's a far stretch. But they get their the head nods. Aba at showing that they got love the bedroom. And we got love for those. You know good job. Converse happy forty fifth by the way to the nba aba emerging happy forty fifth. That's when the nba became a whole. You know i liked that. I like that now. I will go ahead and jump into a next topic. This topic speaks about someone who's mood harsha following in the footsteps of someone else. Let's go ahead and take a look. I wanna talk about jimmy butler. You know saying jimmy butler one of the most phenomenal stories of the nba past season and the whole bubble experiment. He was phenomenal pretty much. The heat wasn't expecting to go anywhere in the playoffs. Much less. you know all the way to the finals. They weren't expected to even make a dent in the eastern half but they just kept on winning. It seems like Jimmy butler had a young team. That was you know knew that they were good. Knew that they were fighters but just. We're not smart enough to realize that they were too inexperienced. Make it that far and he just kept on going kept on going so who does that. Sound light yes. It sounds like another heat legend doing way when he added thousand sixty with him and shack. That just wasn't supposed to be there and just kept on fighting bb now. Jimmy butler did. Follow dwayne wade footsteps. They're both men's way way both played for chicago. But guess what we thought that that's what similarity stopped. But no both dwayne wade and jimmy butler both made the decision to leave jordan brain. Yes jimmy butler. Who was you know which jordan brand from two thousand twelve to two thousand twenty season. He actually left jordan brands. Go ahead and seek greener pastures. He was a free agent for a year ago jordan. The time that he was like everybody up in the bubble he was an actual sneaker free agent but rest assured everyone get a good night's sleep because news is out. Cheney shutler has vowed the home he sound a multi year deal. We guess who yes in the honor of following the wayne wade. He's china multi deal with leaning leaning. Yes the one that has a lifetime deal with twain way as well deals with you know the ngelo russell and building the world of wait. They are actually one of those companies. That's on the verge of willie making a break industry. I love the where world of wage shoes and those are wondering aboard exquisite shoes exquisite lines of sneak aware. So what does jimmy butler have to offer leaning. He has offered british style that butler mentality and trust me. Anybody who was watching them play. They were all about it. Here's what i'm looking forward to. The world of wage shoes have a very beautiful. Calloway especially for the south beach ways. They usually use for the miami show. My thing is now. we're going to have more shows in that way. I think that is the sleek est. Callaway away you've ever seen that miami vice blue and pink. It looks absolutely amazing. And i can't wait to see jimmy butler rock and his leaning shoes. That calloway i you know i'm excited about. It is going to have the. I have like a twenty two on the bottom or something like that or or like a bucket in the back. I don't know. I don't think i'm giving away ideas leaning if you used the puck in the back but it's twenty two on the bottom of the show. All i'm saying just cut me a check. We'll be good will be good. You know. I want to go ahead and take a quick little break. We'll be right back with more or less. Kick it and we got our next thing coming up agree or disagree right here unless kicking you.

Shetler Studios In New York City Closes Due To Economic Downturn

"Theaters large and small across the country are closed. Due to the coronavirus pandemic which means a lot of businesses that support them are also on hold and one of those with Shetler studios in Manhattan. It was a place where New York theater artists from. The famous to the yet to be discovered auditioned and rehearsed but shetler studios announced that a can't hold on as Jeff London reports this iconic studios closing his sent shockwaves through the theater. Community cabaret producer. Robert Schneider says he worked on almost all of his shows. It Shetler Studios. Shetler was a big blow to a lot of us because to us. That's the home. That's the home. Wear whatever you see on stage. That finished product was all created at Shutler. Schneider says it was affordable so it attracted everyone from Broadway stars to up-and-comers he recalls waiting for an elevator that took forever with a group of college students. And I hear one of the girls say boy I just WanNa get an agent and be successful. I don't know what's going to happen next for me. At the same time she gets on the elevator the other elevator doors open and I swear to you. Christine Baranowski walks out to me. This is incredible. You're watching someone who's reached the peak of their journey right next to someone who's just beginning their journey but that's Shetler and that happened like on a daily basis. Shetler is part of the New York theater community as much as Phantom of the opera or something way more visible is theater and cabaret producer Jennifer Ashley Temper. The second that this was all announced and I posted about it so many people came out of the woodwork. To like talk about Shetler. There's no one that hasn't worked there when he heard. Shetler was closing Lin Manuel Miranda's sent out a tweet recalling how he tried out Hamilton material there. Oh my goodness. The odds of sadness in grief over the death of the studios has been literally overwhelming owner run. Shetler opened his facility. Thirty years ago it grew to twenty three thousand square feet on three floors and we pride ourselves in being a professional home away from home. Not only for teaching acting and singing but for auditions rehearsals in performing all in complex for Fifteen Years Janice Goldberg Co directed. The End Theater Company. A tiny off Broadway group and says she sometimes spent five days a week at Shetler studios. It's almost visceral loss. If you've spent so many hours in a place doing something you love and bringing ideas and people's work and your own work to fruition have that energy behind you and then all the sudden that's taken away forever. It's a blow but owner Ron. Shetler says he felt he had no choice but to close the enormous way to finances required to put everything on hold in the fact that everything that we do in the studios can't be done under the confines of the covert Pandemic Protocol and that the entertainment world will be the last open up again. That made the decision quite imminent. I DIDN'T WANNA stick my head in the sand and just Deny what was going on again producer Robert Schneider. It's very hard for me. Because the beginning of my career in the city was all done at Shetler I practically lived at Shetler and now I'm going to have to find new home but those memories I would not trade for anything for NPR news. I'm Jeff London in New York.

"Think that probably count. Look, I'm calling an audible because I can't until they tell me I can't do in the inside pitch. I'm going to say that that qualifies big sticks in the big leagues. Because that's what got done last night. It's brought to you by encore technologies and by defy would stain last year or two longer than other deck stains, defy would stay dot com. So after they end up with an eight lead the ugliness began. I do some sound on that now or should I wait? Here's the here's where I'm at emotionally is we've got exorcising the demons and the offense for those Cincinnati red. I start thinking about okay, you got to keep moving forward. You can't think about the ugliness in the bad that has already passed met. Kemp is gone. Yes. Scott Shutler is gone. Cody read is a back with the big club and sort of. That's where you are you kind of. Okay. Well, let's just keep it going with another lineup. A couple of changes in. We'll see exactly what goes down. But part of me still wants to go. See where the wheels came off. And it's probably not acceptable. Not a good thing. But it is the way that sort of plays out in a few William check out on scores for what happened earlier today in what is going on in the big leagues. We'll do that in a few in the midst of all of this. And I guess this is the other thing I think that is of interest to me anyway, and I don't know about to you. But major league baseball or baseball just in general is all about superstition. It's all about like ritual. It's all you see these guys into the batter's box out of the batter's box. Got you gotta hurry up. They got the clock on her. Now, you know, and you get a just the battery glove. I gotta reach us my helmet. I gotta I gotta get make sure my bad grip is everything in over and over and over one of the best the mayor. Of course, was the guy that I I always thought was just fun to watch. When he was here. Sean Casey in end of the batter's box out of the batter's box. Ready? Not ready in all the stuff that goes with it. And I also think of okay, we'll remember major league in the sacrifice of the chicken. And I know it's just a movie, it's just a move. Movie. But let's be honest. There's a lot of craziness that takes place in left clear on the right cleared on left pant leg on. I the right pant all gonna wear this shirt under, you know, my jersey because I've been lucky this way. I'm only going to eat fried chicken or sushi or scrambled eggs, or whatever it is. When stuff's going right in when it starts going wrong. Everything's thrown away. Let's begin again. And try to find the right way to get it going. So as I talked about, whether it's our own Bill Cunningham, Lance mcalister going into the clubhouse to rally the troops. The castellinis might be over that. Right. I mean, he's professional. They know what they gotta do. Let's be honest. It's not that. They're not trying is their struggle. They've been close. If you look at the run differential for this reg team in where they are expected to be somewhere around the five hundred Mark or maybe lower depending on which talking head you believe and you compare overall run differentials for teens that at this point or expected to be chasing a chance at the postseason play situation or. Or wildcard situation. Run differential is really in favor of the reds, even as a Nemec as the bats have been if the pitching word hold out, and they can just start getting a little bit more action with those bats and moving them over and in I know, simplifying everything behind the microphone that makes. It's not a team that you see that's being pounded night after night. You know what? I mean, they're losing by a run here a run there a two run margin. Not a lot of blow outs. So kick up that offense a little bit. Keep that pitching tight. And then you got yourself a team. That's in you know, in the hunt. Simple for me to say quick break. We'll.

"One goal in Switzerland. Bernie sanders. I just I was listening to a a Dershowitz audio that I'm gonna play coming up on the bottom of the hour. So they who's on my mind. But Sanders was also the question look socialism's failed everywhere. Why would you do it? And he says, well, he's for Democrats socialism nod for the socialism that existed in the Soviet Union, which is to Taliban -tarian socialism. But as we all know once you get the, and this is the as we've talked about before what he calls Democrats, socialism is the current state now where you have where you move away from a a constitutional Republic where you move away from Republic where you have the tyranny of the majority controlling the minority because that's the whole point of why we're not a direct democracy were were a worry Republic. So the majority cannot take the rights away from the minority that was the fear of. The founding fathers because they had seen it happen and their their their fear was for example, what you see in Venezuela. Which is a, you know, a democracy a government under a democracy that eventually becomes totalitarian regime and evolves that way because of the fact of when you move to socialism, and the government controls more of the capital, the money is in public hands in government hands. They get the power it's not in private hands anymore. And that's have that that's the evolution of it. Of course. It wasn't a debate back and forth between the person who asked the question and Bernie Sanders, but the question was asked, and it got applause because it was a young woman whose family came from the Soviet the the Soviet Union. But the fact is that's on CNN and those questions are actually being addressed. And as we pointed out earlier, you know, an a number of questions were were being asked that are tough for him to answer and tough for any democrat to answer right now. Yeah. I think that it is a again, the if it's this kind of this open. Field now with with Democrats because so many. Splintered groups have come from what they've created over the years. Who knows what they'll focus on? I mean, you go to Howard Dean. In the whole. Who thought that would derail who would have predicted that would have derailed a presidential campaign? Really? And he was the guy at the moment. And he had the momentum. So now, let's fast forward to twenty nine thousand nine hundred twenty and and try and in our minds envision what the next I guess trolling moment will be for the far left. Bernie will pull high. But does he have canny hold the same energy and answered the new questions about socialism than his beliefs? And still survive it long term, I suspect even even in his response. It was just the normal saints that we hear I believe that the government should read should be responsive to not just the top one percent. But to all working Americans. What the hell does that mean? Right. How? Always throwing out this populism these populism slogan lines that have been out there for how long now they're old. Yeah. I know he is to. Gives them streak. But, but this is the other side of it too socialist streak, right? But when you start talking about the details of it. It's one thing to go out and say your healthcare is going to be free. You college is going to be free that appeals. What's the other side of that? You don't two thousand eight I guess the the birth of of the idea of ObamaCare, and then getting into two thousand nine in two thousand ten a lot of lies had to be told along the way that people were willing to believe the lies. I don't think they're just automatically believing the lies anymore. And why is that? I think it's in part because of the failure of the last administration the many failures of the last administration, and I don't mean the the failures of the things they tried to get done and didn't get done. I mean, the promises they made to their side their rank and file that they didn't deliver on what their rank and file sees is failures. How many times we heard? Well, Obama didn't really get anything done for us. That's been repeated time and time again. Well, we did see Elizabeth Warren though, talking, you know, really going for the the financial Shutler talking about, you know, re forgiving fifty thousand dollars of college loans or below. I believe the total costs are looking at. I saw one of the estimated six hundred fifty billion dollars, right? Yeah. That's gonna pass on. Sure. But go big as we stated go big. And if you're going to do it if you're going to be if you're going to be a socialist, go.

"Your home run leaders in each league National League, there's three atop the board with four home runs. Each pogo Schmidt of the cardinals Christian yelich, the brewers Cody Bellinger of the dodgers on a bright side of things positive note. Christian yelich went homeless tonight. He was trying to become the first player in major league baseball history to Homer in each of the first five games of his team season reds hill over four going to the ninth. Then he reached glazes for the double in the American League. It's Chris Davis of the as leading the American League with four home runs. I mentioned this during the inside pitch tonight. The fascinating thing about Chris Davis of the as for each of the last four seasons. He's hit exactly two forty seven. For each of the last four seasons. His batting average has been exactly two forty seven. Tonight safe at home segment is brought to you by U F G trust your insurance needs to accompany with over seventy years experience. You f g insurance you're winning run tonight came in the bottom of the top of the ninth with the reds. With rice elegant on the mound to outs Christian yelich over four at that point on an oath to pitch lines. A double Ryan Braun follows lines a double that plated yelich the fourth run the winning run four three your final score tonight. I'll give you another bright spot Joey Votto who has traditionally at least the last three seasons specifically struggled early in the season. Joy had another hit tonight. He had a walk. He scored a run his four hits in the first three games last year in March and April Joey hit two seventy the year before that he hit two fifty six the year before that he hit two twenty nine. Traditionally March April has been his slowest month of the season. I say that in the context of it's not all that slow. It's his lowest month in terms of batting average and opiates. Still pretty good. I think it's about two ninety four with a eight. What was it air wrote it down nine eighteen o p s so it's not like he's a slouch in March and April is just in the last three years specifically he has gotten off to slow starts, and we know how much conversation there was after last season struggles. And then the spring struggles air quotes on that he doubles in his first at bat of the season. Now has four hits on the year. I think that is a significant plus for the reds now they just need some others to start contributing to the offense. How about how about we go here and Caleb you're on the Kelsey Chevrolet extra innings show? Welcome. I just want to talk about the, but I heard all kind of mentioned earlier, but I think we're forgetting that when there's a runner on third bottles fly out very well could escorted. But besides that if there's a runoff third, I just think that a pitcher tenses up just a little bit. That's a little bit more stressful. I also think that if settlers up who's overnight going to bat now that if he's overmatched when they're Overmach they punt shetler should be able to come in and that runner over two third. Plus with the way, they play Shutler all night with switch that third base and was not even close to guarding the bag at third. So I think what rents walked in Stapley self. I want my one point I will say this though, I think you are making a very large leap to the assumption that it automatically gets the runner to third. I'm not working under the assumption. That Scott shetler can get the bunt down. I think it's easy to say all those scenarios if the runners on third my point is I think it's incredibly difficult to get that runner to thirty. If your buddy. Right. I think I think you're correct on that the only thing I will say is that he's overmatched. You can't hit a certainly try to find them. I mean, that's a fair point. That's a fair point. Because you're you're right. I know. Your. But I mean, it wasn't like he was topping out at ninety five. Fastest pitchy. Thirty tonight with ninety three ninety one Beverly at ninety two all the inning one point. I really want to go back. Is the is the ending the same inning. But in the top app Florence was not Gardy third base line with two out and that it went right by the foul line. I mean, I was always thought and little league you Dr. How bow and and let you out and do that. And so that all out granite, you know, twenty twenty but still that fundamental baseball. You guards Abou I agree with that. What I'd like to know is though what they're spray shirts were showing because they're really into this. If you've noticed the outfielders that reaching into their pocket pulling out that little car. So I wonder if they had no now I wanna take that point and go a little bit deeper. I don't know if you noticed this. But early in the game. This drives me crazy. If you're going to shift. The hitter. The.

"Contractors residential commercial industrial servile serves it all reds trailed three nothing after the brewers had batted in the first inning reds chipped away. Score two runs of the fifth. They added the tying run in the six. They went tied to the ninth with two outs gives up back to back doubles to Christian yelich and then Ryan Braun for a four three brewer lead reds put the leadoff batter onto the bottom of the ninth. Kurt Caselli doubles. They pinch run for Michael Lorenzen. David bell ops to not bunt with shetler vitamin tweet. Coming up Shutler strikes out vodka flies out to left. Puig pops up foul ballgame over four three the final in a game that lasted three hours and thirty one minutes that was witnessed by the smallest crowd of the history of great American ballpark seven thousand seven hundred and ninety nine but they were a vocal crowd when it came to the Wu which seemed to drive people nuts tonight. The other bad news hundred green, we'll have Tommy John surgery. He is done for what we can assume as the next at least the next twelve months. All right. A quick follow up a John Fay, ask David bell. If he considered having shetler bunt in the ninth. He did. But quote now, but we didn't for several reasons chief among them was likely that hater stuff is so nasty. Again, I get everybody thinks it's easy to bunt square round. And turn the battery. Just wait for the ball. Just tap it. That's one of a handful of the nastiest pitchers in baseball point to is. Would you rather have three chances to do something or two chances to do something? David bell opted for three chances. Unfortunately, none of three delivered and the reds fall. Four three the final. Let's go to the phones we begin in Amelia, Mike, you were on seven hundred w w welcome. All right. Thanks for taking my call. Real quick real estate by one hundred green. That's. Guy. Right. There really is. I don't think. Our number one number two. I think if you if something about like. Tip. It. Getting better position. Got up. Very rare. But you have a passed ball. I'm also see on the regular TV broader wide out. I don't know what would be with us four score. But I just think you know, you gotta you gotta hitter. What is it that a battle? I think I I would have bought it. I know that in the league. But I think that would have been a part of the manager job. Not to put a best player in the best position to succeed. Do you think asking Scott shetler to bunt is putting him in the best position to succeed? Yeah. I think you've got a better out. Oh, really? Do you really believe that asking him to square around and bud against the ninety eight mile an hour? Fastball is easier for him to do then. Swing like he normally does overnight. Yeah. But he's not over nine for his career. I mean, he's oh for nine in the first two games. Plus, I mean, he's last year is on base percentage was three thirty three. That's exactly the average of a major league baseball leadoff hitter. So he was an average leadoff hitter year ago. Okay. That's fair. That's fair. I just think he's I think he swings more than he Bunce. And I think it's incredibly difficult to bunt versus Josh ater. I agree. I agree. I I don't know. I just I guess I'm old school when it comes to all. Mike. And I appreciate you. Listen, I think it's really cool that you call dude against some time. Thank right, right. Thank you. Yeah. I look. I know it and I'm not one who reconstructs the inning that. Well, had they butting of over then vodkas five escorting. We we don't know that you're assuming that EMMY why who who's to say hater would have pitched vodka the same way with a runner on third. Do you think he's not going to change his strategy, though is approached joy? So I I don't I don't let people reconstruct innings and say it would've worked for that reason. I just think you're underestimating how incredibly difficult it is to bunt how incredibly difficult it is to but against him. And if this was a runner on first base, I might be examining this from a different angle. I doubt it, but he was already the rudder was already in scoring position. So David bell decided to take three cracks at a hit the tie the game instead of two cracks tied the game. It just seems like simple math to me. It's it's like the modern math of major league baseball. You don't give up out cell phone, and we go we'll you're on seven hundred wwl w the Kelsey Chevrolet extra rating show. "Mike Allen, Saturday midday guess what? People. The Cincinnati Reds are in first place. So are the Chicago Cubs in the Milwaukee Brewers, but the reds are in first place winners, of course, on opening day Winterson pretty impressive fashion here to talk about it is our guy formerly of Goodyear now our guy at great American ballpark. Yeti Armbruster yet lots to like about that game the other day. Absolutely. You can't go on sixty two an hour until you wanna know there you go. Give us give us a critique of the game. Those weren't able to watch it. I'll tell you. Why David bell must be feeling pretty good now about making the call for Louis castio to start after a rather lackluster spring. Yeah. And he pitched well, you know, I think it was a it was a good call because easier future. You know, he's the guy that you're gonna have to stop. He is number one stuff. They'll put it in his hands and say, you know, you're going to take to the next level. And he responded really well, expect more of the same as his next starting as the months where on hearing this year. I think you'll ever obviously, a, unfortunately, he didn't get the win came in. Gave up a run. But you know, that doesn't take away from the white he pitched, and you really can't control your record as a starting pitcher. Now, a lot of it just depends on other people yet you're too modest to say it, but you did say it on this show a couple of weeks ago with respect to the pick of Louis castio to start the game. What you said today is exactly what you said then and you were right about it. What about what about the use of Iglesias? I think that's something that we talked about it all expected based on what David bell said you think we're going to see him more into inning situations. I think we were well, David bell. They're determined that you that. It's kind of interesting because I talk a lot with Jeff Brantley just about guys pitching in the. Yeah. The ninth inning. And while it's. I think it's easier to find guys that can close games. He goes there's just something different about the ninth inning. And maybe what we care Feo. A doesn't get his ear up when he's pitching in anything, but the ninth inning. But he's going to have to learn to do it though. I mean, if they're going to keep using him in the seven for BA, then he has to adjust and pumped up in the eighth years in the night. And hopefully that that happens after a few games. Maybe what do you think? Maybe he was just a little bit uncomfortable being in there the eighth for that for the first time. I guess I don't know. I don't know if he was or not I just think it's. You know, you just gotta psych yourself up. And you know, get forget the traditional roles of a closer only comes in the ninth inning. Because I don't think that's going to happen with this team. And you know, anybody that has to be ready to pitch in the sixth seventh eighth or ninth. And he he's not alone in that. He's got to learn how to come in earlier and get the job done. What is your other takeaways for this opening day game? And I know obviously, it's only it's only one game. But what else do you take away? I gotta tell you, man. Jose peraza. Sure looked good. That's exactly what I was gonna say. Jose Peraza study could be I would not be surprised if he's not an all star this year. He is. He was good. All he had a good year last year. He was raped during the spring, and he's carried it over any move positions in the fucking one bit. And and honestly it helps the team defensively Jose. Raciest is a goal gawk caliber shortstop. So with that move. I just think Rosza could be the guy this year. I mean, Marty said it that he thinks at some point he's going to win a batting title. And I don't doubt that because he can really hit. Yeah. That was it was great to see that about Derek Dietrich. Where did that guy? Come from. He came from the Marlins how about the Marlins. Here's the guy that had like four hundred fifty at that last year. So I think actually I think it was more than that. And the reds picked him up for next to nothing. And you know, he's the he can play infield. He can play out there. And you saw the poppy has his bat, and nobody was more pumped. He was rammed into basis when he hit that. Yeah. It's going to be interesting to see how he plays out this season. Tell you what I mean opening day. He sure looked good. We got the two ten start today. I will be there big day. The sheriff tells me that he thinks and I think he's right. It's going to rain all day, and perhaps may get the game in but you got sunny gray coming out and starting for the reds. What are you looking for out of him? Again. He you know, he didn't pitch much in the spring because he was a little banged up. But when he was in there. So effortless. He he knows how the pitch he's not trying to strike everybody out. And he's him along with Hannah Roark or two of the guys that this rest is pitching staff and learn a lot from and he's really pumped about pitching in Cincinnati. You know, his dad he grew up in Nashville is dad was a huge reds fan and bought into games and Cinncinnati-based he remembers crossing over in Kentucky walking across one of the bridges and come into the parking. So he's he's a little bit psyched up to start pitching here. He puts here before. In fact, I think he was in the all star game in two thousand fifteen as well. So this is first time, but it's the first time wearing a red uniform pitching at great American ballpark. So it it'll be good. I think you'll have a good season. You know, they got him. I gave him the three year extension. Some stability him and castio. You know, that's great. It will be and it'll be great to see how he starts today. Hopefully, they do get it in just a question on the injury front scooter genetic. I think we we all pretty much know. Yeah. Two to three months Nixon Zell with that slide into into first base. I think it was Monday night or slide into somewhere. What what's the bottom line on his injury? Sprained ankle. I mean, he's going to be in a boot for a while. I don't think if anything they're worried about long term. It's just you know, but they're not gonna rushing. Keep the boot on when you're ready to play you start playing and Nixon's is going to be up here sooner than later. There's no question about it. I know he was sent down. And a lot of people disagreed with it. I I don't think I get because Shutler plays. So well this spring, right? But he's he's going to be up here. And he's gonna be a star on this team. And I bet he's up here before the all-star break. Yeah. I think you're right. I mean, how could they not get him back up there? And I agree with you yet. I mean from a financial perspective the club had to do that. And based on remarks that I saw from Nixon Zell, he certainly he didn't pop off or say anything stupid. I mean, I think he accepts it and understands it, and he knows he's going to be back here soon. Yeah. His agent said pumping. But the agent job he's going to say something so you just ignore that and move on. And he's going to have hopefully along and really productive careers of Cincinnati rat. Absolutely. Hey, before we let you add or any other observations that you've seen after all of one game that you want to tell listeners about I guess I the enthusiasm of this team. Yeah. I mean, they came out they came out swinging. They you know, they were down. You never really thought they were out though. And you know, you get a big hit in having guys like Erick eight can and Lopez on your team where in the past. We had you know, just nobody's honestly, these are big league proven guys. "Thank you. Thank you very much. Just when you really look at it that that actually position. That's a vision for people who've been married for twenty five years. All right. Well, there you go. That's the latest with the Trumpster as far as. That the tweeting. I my guess is. He didn't know. I mean, let's face it. If anybody knows about this type of thing or any sort of. You think it would be as much of a womanizer as he was. Maybe he's got enough. All right. So it's Valentine's Day. I got some stuff a little later. We'll get into. But the I saw this in the show prep, the thirteen couples got married engaged on Valentine's Day, thirteen of them. How many of them are still together? I it's a big day to get engaged. People. Do this. Okay. I got engaged the day before Valentine's Day, which makes couldn't wake. Well, I didn't want to be like trendy like everybody. Of course, they did on the thirteenth. "WGN Anna happy Friday afternoon to you Jon Hansen for John Williams until three o'clock. So we're waiting on a few things are the sentencing trial underway for Jason Van Dyke were keeping an eye on that will, of course, bring you the ruling from the judge and whenever we get alive. But you just heard Stacey Saint Clair say that it could be a while. We're still on defense witnesses right now or excuse me prosecution. Witnesses haven't even gone to defense witnesses. So it could be some time. Also, keep an eye on this winter storm, which is barreling its way towards the area. Still a couple of hours away from that winter storm warning from officially taking effect, but I'm looking at the radar now. And I'm starting to see some snow approaching the Elgin area, the western northwestern suburbs. Oh, here we go weatherman, John hands. Sorry, I had to break in and thanks for chiming in pre sheet that before you officially starts do that was very county. But as I see I'm looking I'm zooming out the raiders far as I can this storm. This is a big one that goes back all the way to north South Dakota. Soaking california. Right. I mean, it's. Yeah. Moving across the country for a couple days, quite a clip. I was reading some stuff from Tom skilling in the newspaper that some of the parts of the Jetstream were blown at one hundred and fifty miles an hour. I don't know if that's faster than normal. It would seem to indicate that that would be as it's going to be quite an intense storm making its way through the area. But we'd love for you to chime in is it snowing near you three one two nine eight one seventy two hundred sometimes that when we talk we just like to commiserate with each other so feel free to chime in with what you might be doing this weekend with the snowfall here as well. I think it's a stay inside pajamas sorta weekend. But if you're so inclined to help some other people out the folks from my block, my hood, my city might give you some really cool. I'll -tunities to help out your neighbors Jamal Cole the founder joins us right now, Jamal, how're you doing my friend. How you doing today? I'm doing great. It's always great to talk to you. Give such a positive vibe. You do so many great things for the city. You're looking for volunteers, right? Definitely meant tomorrow Saturday at eleven AM be beating the red line station on Sunday nights. They were going to be helping out a lot of seniors in Chattanooga. They can't walkers and have neuropathy in the risk. They need help shoveling. So anybody that wants to come out and volunteer their time for meeting at eleven AM at the seventy ninth state Redline Jamal by then there might be eight inches of snow on the ground. You sure you can handle all this. You got a hundred glove. One hundred shovel we we got behind us. And we got Dr Martin Luther King. So what's something simple? You can do to make an impact on the city. You do not need a master's degree to shovel. Snow? You don't need a legal degree to wanna get to know, your neighbors. So we're gonna be doing simple stuff tomorrow by Shutler. So for singers. Yeah. I think a lot of folks out there know that the snow's common, and they kind of roll their eyes. But there are at least, you know, of an age where they're they're still able to get the shovel out and do it or maybe you got a snow blower at home. And it's easy for you. See it's easy to forget them. All that a lot of folks in our city don't have those resources to buy some like that. But they're just not physically able to do it. I mean this. This is something tangible you can do to make someone's life better. It's happening throughout history of Chicago as well where like a heat wave in the nineties were a lot of seniors. You know, unfortunately, lost their lives. But nowadays, we have technology what we can target specific demographic Swiss specific events, and we can help people better nowadays. So you live at Facebook. I'm utilizing technology to connect volunteers. So the thing is that need help Jamal. How many you've done the shoveling before right? I've been doing it for the last six seven years in Chattanooga community last year, though, there was about one hundred and twenty people that showed up of the United States to help shovel they came from Indiana, Edgewater, people from all over and John. That's the beauty of these events. You got people from all over the city all different communities cultures. Genders religious all coming together in Chicago to help people in need. It's beautiful part of the mission of your organization. My block my hood. My city is not only take kids from the south and west sides and take him to the north side of downtown. But it's really to encourage people from other neighborhoods to visit new neighborhoods, particularly on the south and west sides, where they may have a opinion of it based on what they see on the media. But it's a way different neighborhood toured the north Lonsdale neighborhood for the jam and had a great time doing it. So awesome. Awesome places. But I love that you're meeting at the red line Seventy-nine station because if you're anywhere along the red line or the purple line or the yellow line CD the trains run like no problem when it's no it's no big deal running with. So there's no excuse I on the north side not to come down to seventy nine street tomorrow. This red line of the order. It's harder Chicago, you know, you can't I fall asleep. I love the red line. You know, so tomorrow to Lebanon, but you're right. It's all to make Chicago better. We need more people to look up from the train when the rhino led lights. See what they can learn from different people at the sites around, you know, grab a bite to eat and neighborhoods. You never been to before we got to mean, our best quality of the city is our diversity step outside your appetite for adventure. They come out with help somebody that needs help in challenged tomorrow. Cindy, great. So you've got a Facebook page for the event, and they can also get a cool hat if they come right? Your little swag away. You already know for hundred people calling thirty if you will come and get a hat, you know, but we also you can text shovel the word shovel to five five to to to find out more information again, you can text message shovel to five to to learn how you can donate volunteer. But the first hundred people you already know you're getting. My city Jamal some people that are listening now probably have never heard of the organization, and you don't have to rehash the whole history of it. Because we've done that plenty of times you and I on the air, but I just think in thirty seconds or a minute, you know, how can people get involved in what you do. And I mean, it's these tangible things it's the cleanup things it's the snow shoveling things that your organization do that. Really? They just make such a big difference, man. Yeah. Well, my personal philosophy of democracy starts from the block level is not the city level in were just a block level outwear. So instead of saying the city is messed up the weather's messed up the politicians messed up. I think that's a of us messed up. Instead of blaming things. Other people. What's something simple? You can make yourself do have a positive impact. That's why we shovel snow. It's very simple. If you start with a simple things you develop the muscle. It takes to take on the biggest challenges. So. Hello. Your neighbor started blockbuster and your block started Facebook page for your block. What are you do easy stuff like that a ripple effect throughout the city? So tomorrow, we'll be Craig hopefully cleaning ripple effects if you can't make the United States. Go shovel your were snow through the block of UK. I wanna see that kind of ripple effect happens. Chicago, man, you're absolutely right. There are some folks obviously listened to us from the far suburbs. They're not going to have a chance to make it in. But you're right. Even in your call of a sack wherever you are. If you live in an apartment complex or wherever you need. Let's let's it's we're all in this together Jamal, Joe true. Doesn't matter. You can you can't make it agenda. You can get text message to five five two two two and make a donation. We you know, we buy the salt with buying the gloves. We're buying the shovels. We're out here. Trying to help as many seniors as possible, and we have a little one hundred eighty addresses of to do tomorrow. So I'm looking forward to as much help as possible. Or does mean United St. at eleven AM the month, Jamal, take it easy. Right. Thanks for calling in. You bet you have a good day..

Is true, by the way, unless you're a skinny person. And that's probably the show. I thought about that a lot because I get that. But you know, what I mean because you go to like, these really nice restaurants, and you see a lot of in shape like. Hipsters and suits like the chef comes out and he's got like the glasses, and he's like really trim. I think I'm probably going to be better on all four. You bet on all four, but there's weak the weak bets on their to bet on himself. I noticed week two weeks. Is there a who's gonna who's going to like quit? Do you have something? Yeah. It's no one's quitting. There's no chance. Anybody quilt no publicly. Shame so hard because there's actually people betting on me. So it's actually thought about that last if a horse could talk, and it was in the Kentucky Derby, people bet on it. And then right before the race starts they'd just be like the horses autumn out. Bet money on those horses could talk to that horse. Social media was basically we've got cold. I was a little Hungary last night. And then I like the people, and then I thought about people actually putting money on this. I was like you cannot you deserve it. They deserve my five s effort five figures worth the money has been able to us more away trying to get up to six figures. She deserves to be a six finger betting thing because I think it's hilarious hilarious strictly because we're in two thousand nineteen here. There's NFL playoffs.
