"It's a it's it's a extreme up. You'll challenge for the veterans and the something else I wanted to say to about the VA, you know, for the most part, you know, some people kind of persona about the V as big bad wolf, you know, the people that just don't care about anybody. When I go to the, but I see a lot of people that have probably are. Served in the military themselves. Yeah, they're bound the policies, they're bound by certain government regulations and they're found by this. And they're bound by you know, the limitations of what they have access to run in there. So, you know, it takes a great deal of patience and understanding better part not taking up for the. But again, you know, it's not like, they're the bad guys. It's just bad circumstances. You know what I mean? Yeah. I am always reading about the VA and veterans. Listen veterans should be given the top priority with the best healthcare that we have available in this country hands down. But I understand that. There's many variables in place that are involved with all that. I wanted to ask you about your book Shiloh when did the book come out working, my listeners, find it? And what other kind of projects you work on at the moment. Okay. Yeah. Absolutely. I'm glad you brought that up. So my book came out in twenty fourteen it's called still will I think it's still an Amazon now says it came out in twenty four team, you know, it's not exactly on every bookshelf out there. You know, like a bunch of noble. It was for quite a while. We did pretty well in the beginning. But we I would highly recommend that people are interested in getting a book. I would absolutely loved assign a book foam and writing cinema. Look, then go to my website. Malice spirit international dot com, and they can Bob with there. We have John coins. And you know, I kind of calling this American Batta things. So they're there. So we're kinda make you know of a family thing. And but yes, you know, military as well. But I would love to sign a book for Ray. Yeah. So we're working on a movie working with a great guy over here in Austin, mazing director tala Russell, he loved my story. You hit it off. And it went from it was through something together to, you know, like a movie, and I'm like, okay. And I love has been think it's going to be an amazing adventure. And I think we're gonna save a lot of change a lot of laws about the by the phone. So we've just finished up the script. We're still in the early stages. We're hoping to be shooting by the end of this year. And I. Don't know the movie business that will. But I'm learning. So I figure we'll probably have a film out in the next couple of years. Also, will you be playing yourself in the movie or are you bringing in an actor for the role? Maybe a little bit of both. So, you know, we're going to do like, you know, my story from when I grow up, and that's what I think. So I think we're gonna have a couple of shows my age of teenage low, and we're going to have a little older Shiloh from military service. And then we'll probably pay play myself with the burn injuries. And everything that I went through, you know, within the timeframe of me being very cool. I will be including a link in the description of this podcast episode. So my listeners can tap the lake get over there a copy of your book, find out more about you lasting. I wanna hit. You would hear Shiloh? I love to ask all the data that I get on the podcast, what type of advice? Do you have that new dad or for that about to be father who's out there listening? Oh my gosh. There's so much. There's so much I guess for that new father. Grandfather. House in Los Angeles. Walking from one thing to another. And there was these people out there clipboards doing a survey..

"They're having a hard time coping the VA of hotline. And I know that the VA has been under a lot of pressure. And it's been in the in math lot again. This is my perspective of minor panic, the VA's are, and I think because Roka themselves essentially, I've come across some gray areas that the most of that are satisfied, but you have to encourage them to go in there and tell them exactly what they. Feel like they need are exactly what is going on there. So many against don't want to miss having a smooth my father. I'm better. He would walk into the doctor sick is. Oh you now. But with not tell the doctors exactly what was wrong with. And I finally asked him. I said why do you do that? You said that you were just dime. Thinking you told me everything is going on up, and how you said you knew the doctor. Okay. But you only told him, you know, like these things ten things that were mothering, and he said, oh, well, they should just know how to fix me. And I was like, well how they supposed to know. If you tell them all they've been done this lineup. They should know by now. And if you start with these just know the rest of it, and I'm like, no, no, no, no. So you have to go in there and give these for medical professionals everything. So they can help you everywhere way that you need. That has been a very common dynamic with a lot of the matters that I've communicated with visit with since became a motivational speaker out there advocating, very important that these family members encourage their children or family members, whenever it is the, you know, whoever that person is there off to speak clearly to the Michael professionals if I don't wanna get medical help. There's a hotline through the VA that they can call. Then like, it's I think that we have on child or family members, how aren't time and that somebody from the VA can call check in on that individual and there's open the door. Sometimes that's all it takes is just opening the door and letting that individual. No, hey, we're here for you. So be patient be understanding. But at the same time, I'm not one of those kinda I went through my recovery. It was. Hard. You know, I have scarred from hence to most Myers three fingers. I have a chip vertebrate. And I had to take ownership of my disabilities. I couldn't let somebody else for me. And I couldn't have sent over there. Why don't somebody do this for me for me? I literally have a boot my my dad came in. And was I really get your ass up, and you're going to go out there, and you're going to get better. And you're going to be the message you can be for yourself and for your family. Well, said, wow, man. That's awesome. I it is very alarming to see the suicide rate amongst the military veterans. I mean, I can only imagine how difficult it must be to be at war serving your brothers and your teammates and some of them dying in the process, and then having to come home and readjust the civilian life. I mean, I can't even begin to understand what any of that is like, and that's why I love to bring guys like yourself on here to kind of talk about it and speak about it a little bit. I just pray that something can be done to kind of bring those numbers down because they are very very alarming. Right. I agree. And again, I know that the VA's been under a lot of fire, you know, but. Takes time to fix broken system. You know, as CHAI Tom's change, the VA gotta changes. Well, well, that takes it can't happen over not. Now. The sad part is yes who pays the price? It's the patience is the veterans this individual trying to get in there and get care, and as they're building, you know, these new programs and trying to hire more people that are able to handle PTSD cases. And and there's a certain severity is there are coming back from this generation of entrance. You know?.

"I wanted to ask you about because I know you've had some experience with PT as and so many of our veterans returning home with it. What advice do you have for parents out there who son or daughter is just home from war, and they suspect PTSD, but their son or daughter is denying it and saying that they don't have it. So the first thing that I would recommend to any parents out there that I have a servicemember coming coming back whether it be child of their own or family members are close to if you suspect that they have PTSD or combat stress is really what I stage of it is develop into post traumatic stress and then post traumatic stress disorder. I'm not a doctor by any means. But this is my thing for my personal experiences as educate yourself on what the symptoms really look like. Because if they if you're if this individual the service rats come back with more injuries and not really know that they're injured whether it be from concussion which can lead to traumatic brain injury or t b I which some of the roadside bombs and explosions that some of our military is exposed to. 'cause they're Brian to. To basically rattle around in their school so much that it causes cognitive disability. And it's very similar to PTSD. Something's now PTSD. You know, obviously, there's a lot of people know some of the obvious, which are, you know, being nervous in public. You know, not being with us fan crowds for very long nervous. What's these sort of this? Thanks, but educate yourself, and so that way you can help keep an eye and the middle because from the minute we join the military. We're taught not to be the week week leak. You know, kinda watch for the sometimes of them being nervous cagey because they may not realize that they're doing because you know there. I don't wanna be the weekly even after the military and a lot of servicemembers reluctant to get out. Because I don't want to be labeled as somebody does able and sometimes I just might not wanna face their disabilities in a long run. So it's important to realize that PTSD is real and there's different levels severity and affect just about everybody in a different way. As far as severity how they do with it. Now, they can manage their stress levels. And that's one of the thing if they're drinking a bunch illegal drugs, even abuse of over the counter medication or prescription medication are huge signs..
